Multiplayer – Matchmaking and Events [All Platforms]
We’ve updated Safety Ratings in Featured Multiplayer by increasing the number of previous races the Safety Rating uses to determine your rating from 10 to 20, and by making on-track collisions more impactful to Safety Rating. Changes will take effect after your first race in Update 8. In addition, we’ve improved the matchmaking algorithm to search for a narrower range of Safety Ratings compared to your own. For example, players with an 'S' Safety Rating should no longer be matched with players who have 'E' and 'D' Safety Ratings. Groups will be connected to matches based on the player with the lowest Safety Rating. We’ve updated Featured Multiplayer events to use consistent weather conditions and avoid unpredictable weather transitions mid-race. [1750733] Removed the 2020 KTM X-Bow GT2 and the 2020 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 from the Forza GT Series and added them to the Modern Factory Racecar Series in Featured Multiplayer. [1753741] Added the 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsport 935 to the Forza GT Series in Featured Multiplayer. Developer’s Note: We’re currently working on recategorizing Forza GT racecars into separate spec divisions and expect to push these changes into the game this summer. Corrected an issue where the 1969 Lola #6 Sunoco T70 MkIIIB was eligible for the Vintage Le Mans Prototypes Series rather than the Prototype Group Racing Series. [1731588]

Safety Ratings and Matchmaking
We’ve improved Safety Ratings in Featured Multiplayer by increasing the number of previous races the Safety Rating uses to determine your rating from 10 to 20, and by making on-track collisions more impactful to Safety Rating. These changes will take effect after your first race in Update 8. In addition, we’ve updated the matchmaking algorithm to search for a narrower range of Safety Ratings compared to your own. For example, players with an ‘S’ Safety Rating should no longer be matched with players who have ‘E’ and ‘D’ Safety Ratings. Groups will be connected to matches based on the player with the lowest Safety Rating.
Car Divisions and Events
Corrected an issue where the 1969 Lola #6 Sunoco T70 MkIIIB was eligible for the Vintage Le Mans Prototypes Series rather than the Prototype Group Racing Series. The 2020 KTM X-Bow GT2 and the 2020 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 are moved from the Forza GT Series to the Modern Factory Racecar Series in Featured Multiplayer. The 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsport 935 has been added to the Forza GT Series. We’re currently working on recategorizing Forza GT racecars into separate spec divisions and expect to push these changes into the game this summer.
Car Balancing
The following cars have been rebalanced in Featured Multiplayer Spec Series: Featured Multiplayer Spec Series Car Name Change Summary Forza GT Series 2019 Ginetta G55 GT4 Engine torque: +25% Car Mass: +13.4% Front Downforce: -45% Rear Downforce: -45% Early Factory Racecar Series 1997 McLaren F1 GT Increased Power 10% Early Factory Racecar Series 1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion Increased Power 13% Lowered weight/ballast 3% Early Factory Racecar Series 1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione Increased power 10% Weight decreased 2%
AI Drivatar behavior
We’ve reduced unnecessary braking scenarios for Drivatar AI opponents. Examples of this include braking while attempting to pass, two cars wide in corners, and at the apex of corners.
Other Changes
We’ve updated Featured Multiplayer events to use consistent weather conditions and avoid unpredictable weather transitions mid-race. The Open Class Tour in Career mode has been migrated from the Builders Cup tab to the Featured tab. The Open Class Tour will be found in the Featured tab going forward. Starting with Update 8, VIPs can look forward to an exclusive 15% discount on a car every week in the Showroom alongside the 30% discount on Spotlight cars. Screen Narrator will now read associated credit bonuses as part of the option value names on Free Play Advanced options which affect credits earned during the event. This change also fixes the display of the bonus percentages for all players. Screen Narrator now fully supports the “Series Standings” leaderboard scene accessed from the Builders Cup Event Setup scene. The Tune Setups menu is now fully narrated. Added descriptive text for the SoundCloud Driver Suit.
CARS
Update 8 adds five cars to the game: 2 Reward Cars (Porsche 935 and BMW 1 Series M), and 3 Spotlight cars (Ginetta G40 Junior, Porsche Cayman GTS, and Elemental RP1). These additions bring the total game roster to 590 cars.

https://filedn.eu/lKS3knP1hY2bTw4zUIUrOkX/Reddit\_HP6830/4RUIDb41ec8811b4c4a6c81a2305d9141da9a.jpg

Bref.

2024.05.09 02:00 Aislabie My All-Time Top 100 Snooker Players

So, the World Championship is over for another year, and by Tuesday morning I was experiencing serious snooker withdrawals. So I did what any self-respecting adult would do, and set about spreadsheeting the 100 greatest snooker players of all time. This post is going to be an exploration of the list I came up with.
Probably Asked Questions:
  1. What were your criteria? Players were ranked using a points system for wins and runner-up finishes in the World Championship, Triple Crown and Ranking Events, as well as 147s and century breaks. There is also a modifier for "intangibles", where I have added subjective judgements to reflect a player's contribution to snooker - both positive and negative.
  2. So it's based on your opinion? To an extent, yes. And even without the "intangibles" it would be because I set the points system.
  3. Is there anything else we should know before you start? Probably not; let's get cracking. I will point out when I get to a player if I have made a significant judgement on their "intangibles".
Honourable Mentions
The following players did not make it onto the Top 100 list:

51 - Perrie Mans (RSA) - 1978 World Championship finalist and 1979 Masters Champion; also prolific in non-ranking and domestic events. Despite this success, I can find no evidence of him ever making a competitive century break.

17 - John Pulman (ENG) - Pulman is technically an eight-time World Champion, but seven of those came in the Challenge Match era, and have been devalued accordingly.
16 - John Spencer (ENG) - Three-time World Champion in 1969, 1971 and 1977. Also one countless non-ranking events in this time.
15 - Jimmy White (ENG) - The second-greatest player never to have won the World Championship, at least according to my spreadsheet.
14 - Shaun Murphy (ENG) - 2005 World Champion (as a qualifier), 2008 UK Champion and 2015 Masters champion; I have no problems with his snooker, only his commentary.
13 - Ding Junhui (CHN) - The greatest player never to win a World Championship (yet), and the greatest player ever to come from China.
12 - Alex Higgins (NIR) - Alex Higgins is a tricky one; a boorish lout, but also 1972 and 1982 World Champions.
11 - Neil Robertson (AUS) - A truly remarkable breakbuilder who ground out a title in 2010, has since regressed a little bit as I assume he tries to make cookbooks make sense.
10 - Judd Trump (ENG) - Not a Crucible specialist unfortunately, but Trump is a master of hoovering up smaller championships.
9 - Fred Davis (ENG) - An eight-time World Champion, Fred was dominant as soon as his brother left the sport, and once played the greatest black-ball final of all time against Joe.
8 - Ray Reardon (CYM) - A true trailblazer when it came to treating every frame as important; Reardon went on to win 6 World Championships (1970, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1978. What a machine.
7 - Mark Williams (CYM) - If you slap a ball anywhere down on the table, Williams will pot it. Still going pretty strong as he put together a stunning Tour Championship this year.
6 - Mark Selby (ENG) - A four-time World Champion and one of the all-time great players.
5 - John Higgins (SCO) - It's easy to forget how good Higgins was at his prime. Phenomenal breakbuilder.
4 - Joe Davis (ENG) - The grandad of early snooker, Davis won 15 titles by the time he chose to retire and let someone else (Fred) have a go.
3 - Steve Davis (ENG) - Just such a good player, really the first one who took this whole endeavour seriously.
2 - Stephen Hendry (SCO) - Simply the clear second-best player.
1 - Ronnie O'Sullivan (ENG) - Simply the best of all time, no questions asked.

I hope you have all enjoyed this! I am now sleep deprived. Oops.

2024.05.09 00:55 YohBoh205 Need help planning 5 year dream COTA trip.

I have downloaded Reddit to my phone as of today, referred here by a friend for help. I desperately need advice from some F1 Veterans that have attended the Circuit of America's Grand Prix. I have finally secured my kids a sitter for my 10 year Wedding Anniversary trip and the first half of my trip will be to Austin, Texas to take part and witness this beautiful sport for the first time ever. The closest l've came to watching F1 in person is at my local track (Barbers Motorsports) to watch the Indycar series. I like Indy and all, but it doesn't come close to what I feel for F1. We will land (flying) in Texas the Thursday of race week. I plan on attending Friday, Saturday and of course Sunday. Thave a good bit of money (to me) set aside just for this part of our trip but I don't quite yet have that "eff-u" money John Goodman taught me about (movie reference), so it's not like l want the red carpet. I don't want to be with the millionaire's or in an enclosed suite. I want to be among the hardcore fans that have also worked their ass off for this trip. I don't want to miss out on the must-do's and I want it to be unforgettable. 1. Firstly, and most important, if I could watch the race from anywhere on Sunday, where would that be? A top 3 list would be amazing. I mean I want to know which turn, which grandstand, what row. I keep coming back to a higher row seat at Turn 15 Grandstand. But, l've never been and I don't KNOW like a veteran would. Please help!!!! I will not move from this seat from an hour before the formation lap until that checkered flag, as if I'm a nesting mother goose. 2. What are the must do's for the 3 day weekend? I will definitely be hitting the merch sales up first thing, but after that, ! haven't a clue. Like I don't know anything about being there.I'm sure I want to hit up the fanzone and I'm sure I want to get as close as possible to Drivers and the garage. And whatever else you all tell me to do. Any advice on where to sleep and eat? Any particular hotels? I also want the hotel to be top tier because this trip very well is about my wife and "us" too. I want to spoil her in every way possible because she has treated me like a king since we first got together in 2011. She's an amazing best friend to me and an even better Mother to our 2 kiddos. Without her, none of this would even be possible. 3. Transportation to and from the track. What's the best and easiest option? Is parking hard? Are there shuttles? Rental vehicle needed for this? 4. we are still indecisive on what to do for remainder of trip... we will have the following Monday-Sunday to do whatever else we desire. Any ideas for October 21st-25th? Somewhere within the lower 48. I don't want to go out of country or deal with passports. I want to maximize our enjoyment and vacation. 5. I hope I'm doing this right and aren't being a complete idiot. I'm a Reddit noob. Thanks in advance!!!!

2024.05.01 08:02 Zorglub_Yeah Scénic 3 dCI 1L9 130 cv

Bonjour,

2024.04.30 00:18 Old_Independence_584 Playing now on 24/7: Ratcatcher

"Ratcatcher" is a 1999 drama film written and directed by Lynne Ramsay. The movie is set in Glasgow, Scotland during the mid-1970s, specifically against the backdrop of a garbage strike that leads to uncollected trash piling up in the streets. This setting adds a gritty and somewhat bleak tone to the film, which centers on the life of a 12-year-old boy named James Gillespie.
James, played by William Eadie, is grappling with the hardships of growing up in a poor, working-class neighborhood during a time of urban decay and social strife. The story begins with a tragic accident involving James and another boy, which haunts James throughout the film. This incident, coupled with the dire circumstances of his family and community, shapes his outlook and decisions as he navigates his troubled world.
"Ratcatcher" explores themes of guilt, loss, and the yearning for a better life. Ramsay's direction employs a poetic and visually striking style, using imagery and minimal dialogue to convey deep emotions and the harsh realities of the characters' lives. The film also touches on the aspirations and dreams of James, highlighted by moments where he imagines escaping to a new home in the countryside, which stands in stark contrast to his grim surroundings.
The film is noted for its powerful portrayal of childhood, its lyrical cinematography, and its ability to evoke the atmosphere of the time and place with profound empathy. "Ratcatcher" received critical acclaim for its artistic approach and is considered a standout debut feature for Lynne Ramsay. It contributes significantly to the genre of social realist cinema, providing an intense, intimate, and compassionate look at life in a specific time and place. Lynne Ramsay is a Scottish film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, known for her distinctive visual and narrative style. Born on December 5, 1969, in Glasgow, Scotland, Ramsay has carved out a reputation for creating intense, emotionally rich, and visually compelling films.
Ramsay's filmmaking career began after she graduated from the National Film and Television School in the UK, where she studied cinematography and direction. Her graduation short film, "Small Deaths," won the Cannes Film Festival's Prix du Jury in 1996, which set a promising tone for her future work. She continued to receive acclaim with two more shorts, "Kill the Day" and "Gasman," the latter of which also won a Prix du Jury at Cannes.
Her feature film debut came in 1999 with "Ratcatcher," set during the 1970s Glasgow trash strikes. The film was praised for its poetic realism and its empathetic portrayal of childhood amidst adversity. It established Ramsay as a filmmaker capable of blending stark social commentary with deeply personal storytelling.
Ramsay followed up with "Morvern Callar" in 2002, starring Samantha Morton as a young woman in Scotland dealing with her boyfriend's suicide in an unconventional way. This film continued Ramsay's trend of focusing on complex female protagonists and her preference for evocative visual storytelling over expository dialogue.
Her next major feature, "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (2011), based on Lionel Shriver's novel of the same name, is perhaps her most well-known work. It stars Tilda Swinton and explores the troubled relationship between a mother and her son, who goes on to commit a horrific act. The film received widespread critical acclaim and several awards, solidifying Ramsay's status as a leading filmmaker.
In 2017, Ramsay directed "You Were Never Really Here," featuring Joaquin Phoenix as a tormented veteran who rescues trafficked girls. This film won her the Best Screenplay award and Phoenix the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. Known for its brutal minimalism and intense performance, the film exemplifies Ramsay’s ability to create gripping, visceral cinema.
Throughout her career, Ramsay has been noted for her focus on visual storytelling, her meticulous attention to detail, and her profound exploration of complex emotional landscapes. She remains a significant figure in contemporary cinema, acclaimed for her unique directorial voice and her commitment to exploring challenging themes with stylistic rigor and emotional depth.

Is Ju Wenjun the Magnus Carlsen of women chess?
In the women's candidates for this year except for Vaishali and Nurgyul (the 2 youngest in the tournament) all the other player have played in the world championship finals before in one or other format (4 playing against current WC Ju Wenjun itself!). Is the women's chess dead?
Now, towards the main point, Ju Wenjun has opportunity to equal magnus record of 5 world championship. And it also seems like she already has some edge over Tan.
Actually she would have edge over anybody who would have won the candidate either due to world championship head to head (for 6 contestants) or due to the sheer experience (for the 2 youngest one)
She also proved that she is very strong by defeating Alireza in one of the recent event.

Defeated
I live in Canada. My insurance covers 80% and yet this might still be unaffordable for me. I Just got my latest a1c back at 6.5 on MDI. I know I would do better on the pump but the reality is even with insurance this feels impossible. I know lots of people can afford this, but I can’t and I’m just sad.
Maybe next time 😭
