2024.06.01 14:29 No_Conclusion_3920 I have made simple 3d terrain generation prototype in turbowarp

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHBVYSp5gFY
About 3 years ago I went down a rabbit hole called "Sprite 3d", it is basically creating a 3d scene where every point is a pen stamp or sprite clone. I had a goal in summer of 2022 to create a war multiplayer game when I get more skills. This week, I started that journey with some other scratchers as a collaboration. Right now, there isn't a lot to say about the game itself, but I think that my engine "Elite 3D" is capable of running it. Engine's version is "sprite alpha v1.3". It is stable, which is needed to create such a big game. This engine wasn't created with ANY kind of tutorials, and it wasn't, it isn't and it will never be created from tutorials.

2024.06.01 14:19 Time_Scarcity_1200 Looking for someone to design 5 levels of a 2D Racing game.

As the title says, I would like someone to design 5 levels of a 2D racing game similar to Hill Climb Racing.
The first level should be a short tutorial on the mechanics and controls, and subsequent levels get harder as usual.
The game has a specific theme (Asia) so each level should encompass some different aspect of that (i.e - city, country, market etc).
I would leave it to you to design mechanics further than the initial gravity and balancing that can be used to ramp up difficulty.
The game is complete as far as the core aspects go, along with graphics and sound outside environmental. This is a hobby project. I am not looking to gain money or millions of downloads. I just want to make a fun game I can submit to Google Play and have my friends and family play.
I would like to pay a flat project fee - but am open to hourly rates or even by level.

2024.06.01 13:58 Effective-Lab-5659 Teaching standards in primary school

How is it really like in primary school? It feels like parents are fully participating in teaching their kids in order for them to do well.
That is good but honestly, without the tiger parent, involved parent and endless tuition, how is the teaching standard for primary school kids?
Especially since most kids wonā€™t have the maturity to understand the importance of education? Or the savvy to navigate digital learning? Or the self control to do work instead of play?
I donā€™t mean to say that teachers arenā€™t doing their job. The reality of the situation is that there is minimally 32 kids to one teacher, and a few SEN kids and a ton of kids whose temperament arenā€™t suited for a huge classroom. Throw in the many KPIs that schools have to hit - digital learning / national education etc, and the endless admin work and non-academic support that teachers do, I wonā€™t blame the teachers if they canā€™t concentrate on solely teaching. Also, the standards for PSLE seems way higher than ever!
So what is your take on how is it like?

Iā€™ve got F1 24 for PS4 on disk with a new headset. The box say ā€˜PS5 Upgrade Availableā€™. Iā€™ve followed the instruction on Sonyā€™s website. But I canā€™t find a download / claim option for the digital PS5 option.
Both the game and PSN are from the same region.

2024.06.01 13:47 lVXlll Rap for a school project

Putting up a front is a slight hassle
Personality as real as nutrition in a white castle
On the outside looking prideful as a flag
But internally struggling like a straight married man doing drag
Real happiness start coming slow like the game when it lag
Bottle it all up until its explosive as a frag

damn im thirsty pick up some lemonaid
found em on the ground they might have some aids
but if quenching my thirst was money i got paid
ā€¦
i didnā€™t actually drink a half drunk drink
my bad if thats what you think
didnā€™t mean for it to be alarming
it was a metaphor for how people be self harming
while they think they cleaning they life like charmin

this mentality donā€™t help you live long
it make u act like a monkey, like king kong
outside sources so controlling like fent
tryna make everyone complacent
got our minds all twisted and bent

life would be better if we did what we meant

reap what you sow
don't be a sheep when you know
you gotta leap to the glow
understand why you wrong
dont get mad that take long
accepting your mistakes mean you strong
im not paying attention in chem writing this song

can i say that? lemme not
let me get back to my thought
in life you gotta use what you got
and soley what you got, happiness cant be bought
well it can, but only for a lot

and in the process you lose your soul
all that takes a tole
so donā€™t hide like a mole
live life and set a goal

for better
feels more comfy like a really soft sweater
take lead of my life just like a header

our minds always change, this state of mind won't be my last
so many times my perspective exchanged in the past
I can remember when all I could think about was ass
now everything is about how life is fragile like glass
but in this moment iā€™m just trying to pass this class
never was religious never went to mass
I live by the fact that I can't act too rash
catch the Id thought like my name is ash
then take that shit into the trash

see from perspectives other than your own
take your face out from the depths of your phone
chasing pleasures like a dog and a bone

as a human race
we are at the place

oh you thought I woulda said something else latter? it was just a joke
but in reality theres no such thing as being woke
just do as you think is right, dont stutter dont choke

2024.06.01 13:33 richnixon94 Penetrator stole my drip

Hello all, the title says it all. After trading my disc copy of Demons Souls and buying the digital deluxe edition I no longer have access to my NG+ character. Sony wonā€™t help, wonā€™t even reply to my cries for help. I am now stuck in upper Latria on one character and Flamelurker on the other. I have the feeling this is the work of the penetrator.
That being said I am up to the challenge. But sadly, though I am very perceptive of lore, I am not that good at the game, I am in need of some cooperators in order to stop the fat official- I mean the old monk- I mean the penetratorā€™s antics.
I am up to the challenge, I could just buy the disc again and reload my character that way, but Iā€™d rather hit him right in the head.
Tldr: need help deciding which character to progress with and from there with beating either flamelurker or man eater gargoyles. Or, the adjudicator, which seems like the best option as it seems Iā€™ve been kicked into a hole.
Thanks for reading, and thank you for help, my psn is Johnthedyoung. Just add me if you are one of the blue phantoms from the opening cutscene!

I just reinstalled it but itā€™s sending me back to the tutorial. Itā€™s really pissing me off cause I spent loads of money on that game. 2024.06.01 13:30 Karaffel212 How to not miss things

Hey everyone, i started playing atm 9 a few weeks ago. I played some of the atm packs bevor, but never longer than mid game. This time the goal is the ATM Star. But iā€˜m getting more and more problems finding things to do and getting knowledge of what to do. Most mod tutorials i searched on yt for are only till mit game. Even normal Mekanisem tutorials are mostly to the digital miner. Iā€˜m not the guy to watch lets plays. So iā€˜m getting all my knowledge through searching actively and reading posts hear. So the big question, how do you get the understanding of all the mods, how did you get to know what you can do, what you need to? I looked in the quests but got the impression that they are more summarizing. Is there a intern wiki with all the infos beside the books some modes have? Is there a guide for the modpack you can recommend? How do you set milestones. As an example, stargate journey. Iā€˜ve found some github pages with nearly no information and 2-3 Videos with basics. Thats it. A few days ago, someone posted her some screenshots of his setup of Stargates and i couldnā€™t understand how he got the knowledge. Thank you for every tipp and helpful comments. Iā€˜m playing alone, so there is no one else i can learn from.

2024.06.01 13:24 CallMeTravesty Day 1 (for me) Impressions

So I was a Batman main in the initial early access but due to other real life things, only got around to retrying this today.
Here are my thoughts as I came across them.
  1. My Mouth literally hit the floor when I saw both how short and floaty the jump is during the tutorial. I legitimately thought I short hopped but that's the actual jump. Uh oh.
  2. Immediately. Wtf? They have Smash on neutral and Jab on forward? If it's not broke don't fix it!
  3. Why does everything feel so sluggish?
  4. So Arya's knife teleports her to the opposite side? Oh good, now we can be closer to the blast zone and hit them back in. Still kept the fudge off long cooldown too.
  5. Speaking of Batman and Arya, I guess we just don't want any real combos anymore outside 2 attack combos or damn infinites apparently. We just playing rock em sock em robots out here now.
  6. Upon trying more characters, it feels like they toned down everything strong from the early access while keeping the long cooldowns for what's now a meh effect.
  7. Yet the things that do feel strong feel like an oversight rather then an intentional choice.
Who is this game for!?
Is it for casuals who wants to come in play 5 matches and leave? I don't think it'll retain them long.
It's certainly not for competitive platform fighters that for sure. They're going to have fun finding and abusing the dumb stuff until that gets patched out and then leave because the game has been gimped outside that.
I'm not going to say I'm disappointed because I don't have a horse in this race really and I know the casual audience may have fun with it for a while but this game has no idea what it wants is immediately my lasting impression.

2024.06.01 13:16 StoreyStories 3D printed base for head mold casting?

So I know that most tutorials say to use a clay sculpt for making a head mold for expanding foam suit heads, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience on using a 3d printed base and casting off of that?
I'd be modeling and making the base myself and then using it to cast. I just want to know if it would work logistically before I give it a shot.

2024.06.01 13:15 FacebookCalculator Ultimate Guide to Facebook Influencer Calculators

In today's digital landscape, Facebook remains a powerful platform for influencers to engage with their audience and monetize their presence. Navigating this space effectively can significantly enhance your success. Our Facebook Earnings and Engagement Calculators are invaluable tools designed to help you optimize your strategies and maximize your potential. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore how these calculators work, why they're essential, and provide actionable tips to elevate your Facebook game.

Understanding Facebook's Influence on Social Media

Facebook continues to be a dominant force in the social media world. With over 2.8 billion monthly active users, it offers a vast audience base for influencers to tap into. The platform's diverse user demographics and extensive reach make it an ideal space for influencers to grow their brand and engage with followers.

The Importance of Engagement for Influencers

*Engagement* is a critical metric for influencers. It reflects how actively your audience interacts with your content. High engagement rates can lead to increased visibility and more significant opportunities for monetization. But how do you measure engagement effectively?

Engagement Rate Calculator: Measuring Your Impact

What is Engagement Rate?

*Engagement Rate* is a metric that measures the level of interaction your content receives from your audience. It includes likes, comments, shares, and other forms of interaction. A high engagement rate indicates that your content resonates well with your audience.

How to Calculate Engagement Rate

The formula to calculate engagement rate is straightforward:
\[ \text{Engagement Rate} = \left( \frac{\text{Total Interactions}}{\text{Total Followers or Reach}} \right) \times 100 \]

Here's a breakdown:

For instance, if you have 1,000 interactions and 10,000 followers, your engagement rate would be:
\[ \left( \frac{1000}{10000} \right) \times 100 = 10\% \]

Why Engagement Rate Matters

Engagement rate is crucial for several reasons:

1. Audience Loyalty: A high engagement rate signifies a loyal and active audience.
2. Content Performance: It helps gauge how well your content is performing.
3. Brand Collaborations: Brands often look at engagement rates to determine an influencer's effectiveness and potential for partnerships.

Facebook Influencer Calculator: Estimating Your Potential

Factors Influencing Earnings on Facebook

Estimating potential earnings on Facebook involves several factors:
1. Engagement Rates: Higher engagement often leads to better monetization opportunities.
2. Follower Demographics: Age, location, and interests of your followers can impact earning potential.
3. Content Type: Different types of content (posts, stories, reels) can attract varying levels of engagement and earnings.

How to Use the Facebook Influencer Calculator

Our Facebook Influencer Calculator helps influencers estimate their potential earnings based on their engagement rates, follower demographics, and content type. Hereā€™s how to use it:
1. Select Content Type: Choose whether the content is a Post, Reel, Story, or Live, or select a package for all types.
2. Input Earnings Per Views: Enter the amount you typically charge per 1000 views.
3. Enter Follower Count: Input the total number of followers on your Facebook account.
4. Provide Recent Views: Fill in the view counts for your last four posts.
5. Engagement Rate: Input your engagement rate as a percentage.
6. Calculate: Click on the 'Calculate' button to generate the estimated price.
7. Estimated Price: Review the calculated estimated price displayed on the side.

Example Calculation

Letā€™s say you typically charge $10 per 1000 views, have 50,000 followers, and your last four posts garnered 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, and 25,000 views, respectively. With an engagement rate of 5%, the calculator would provide an estimated price based on these inputs, giving you a clear idea of your potential earnings.

Enhancing Your Facebook Strategy

Creating High-Quality Content

Quality content is the cornerstone of successful influencer marketing. Ensure your posts are visually appealing, informative, and engaging. High-quality content attracts more interactions, boosting your engagement rate and potential earnings.

Leveraging Analytics

Utilize Facebook Insights to track your performance. Analyzing metrics such as reach, engagement, and audience demographics can help you tailor your content strategy for better results.

Engaging with Your Audience

Building a strong connection with your audience is essential. Respond to comments, ask questions, and create interactive posts to foster a sense of community. The more engaged your audience, the higher your engagement rate will be.

Collaborating with Brands

Partnering with brands can significantly increase your earnings. When pitching to brands, highlight your engagement rate and audience demographics to showcase your value as an influencer.

Consistency is Key

Maintain a consistent posting schedule. Regularly updating your content keeps your audience engaged and helps maintain a steady growth in followers and interactions.

Utilizing Facebook Features

Take advantage of Facebook's features like Stories, Reels, and Live sessions. These formats often receive higher engagement rates, providing more opportunities for monetization.

Staying Updated with Trends

Keep abreast of the latest trends and updates on Facebook. Adapting to new features and trends can give you an edge over other influencers.

Actionable Tips to Boost Engagement

  1. Post at Optimal Times: Analyze when your audience is most active and schedule your posts accordingly.
  2. Use Eye-Catching Visuals: High-quality images and videos attract more attention.
  3. Craft Compelling Captions: Engaging captions can encourage more interactions.
  4. Incorporate Hashtags: Use relevant hashtags to increase the discoverability of your posts.
  5. Run Contests and Giveaways: These can drive significant engagement and attract new followers.
  6. Collaborate with Other Influencers: Partnering with influencers can expand your reach and boost engagement.
  7. Ask for Feedback: Encourage your audience to share their thoughts and opinions, fostering a more engaged community.

Conclusion

In the ever-evolving world of social media, staying ahead requires *a strategic approach and the right tools*. Facebook remains a pivotal platform for influencers looking to engage with their audience and monetize their efforts. By utilizing our Facebook Influencer Calculator and Engagement Rate Calculator, you can gain valuable insights into your performance and potential earnings. 2024.06.01 13:07 madrasi2021 AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) Resources

Every single day there is a question from someone here saying "where do I start for AWS Solutions Architect Associate" when there are a few hundred articles from those who passed already.
So here is a master list of resources to help those who have this question.
Cloud Practitioner version of this is here
If you find this post useful - upvote. I am happy to take feedback / suggestions / changes etc - please comment!

tl;dr

  1. Get 1 video course and watch it end to end - the subreddit favourites are below / scroll down further for links
    • I cannot afford any courses / need a free option - get Andrew Brown's YouTube course
    • I want to just learn bare minimum to pass exam - Stephane Maarek on Udemy
    • I really want to learn this AWS and cloud stuff well and be good at it - Adrian Cantrill
  2. Read whitepapers / review new announcements from re:Invent 2023
  3. Do one decent set of practice exams from one provider- subreddit favourites below / scroll down further for links
    • Tutorialsdojo (personal favourite - I passed ALL my exams using "TD")
    • Udemy (Stephane Maarek)
Take and Pass exam!

Subreddit Search

Following my own usual guidance, you can always use the subreddit search feature and read articles from everyone in the last month who posted about this exam / passed it. There is a wealth of detail / experience here to learn from :
Link : https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/search/?q=saa+solutions+architect+associate+pass&type=link&t=month

Exam Details

If you have absolutely no clue about the exam - start here.
The exam code is SAA-C03
AWS page with all the details : https://aws.amazon.com/certification/certified-solutions-architect-associate/
Always read the Exam Guide (tells you whats in / out of scope) : https://d1.awsstatic.com/training-and-certification/docs-sa-assoc/AWS-Certified-Solutions-Architect-Associate_Exam-Guide.pdf

Minimum Viable Path to Certification

Most people usually need 3 things to pass the exam
  1. A single video based course introducing AWS and all the key exam topics
Typically these are courses where someone reads from some slides, shows you the AWS console and how to use it and then gives you tips on what to remember - there are free and paid versions of these.
  1. Additional material on key topics.
For SAA-C03 - there are some recommended whitepapers on WAF and also since 6 months have passed since the last re:Invent 2023 - any of the major announcements from then now are in scope for the exam. You wont see too many new things but there is a chance there are some random questions that were not covered in any practice exam / course.
  1. One good quality practice exam
Note : do not fall for some random "dump" found on internet or a file your mate gave you to study.
Also note - you do NOT need more than 1 of each category. You can buy more than one practice exam for sure but doing one is enough IMHO.

1. Video Courses

Free Video based Courses

Free from AWS's own training service (Skillbuilder) :
There is an "Exam Prep" course from Skillbuilder but note that this just covers the high level domains but is not a comprehensive deep dive.
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/14760/exam-prep-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03
Optional : There is a slightly extended version of this in the paid tier with additional exam-style questions, flashcards and more importantly FREE hands on labs and the official practice exam.
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/14776/exam-prep-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-with-practice-material
There is a 7 day (extended to 10 days sometimes) free trial for the paid tier which can help you cram this. You can subscribe, immediately cancel but still enjoy 7 days free.
Please note that this course is not enough on its own to pass and you may want to try additional material below.
YouTube based video course
This course below is a better alternative to the SkillBuilder course above but is about 50 hours.
Andrew Brown is an AWS community hero who runs his own training site called exampro.co but offers most of the material for free on FreeCodeCamp's YouTube channel.
The 2024 refresh of the SAA course is here : https://youtu.be/c3Cn4xYfxJY
Andrew also has additional (free / paid) content on his site to check out.

PAID Video based courses

Adrian Cantrill's courses :
Adrian Cantrill is an independent content creator and has his own site from where you can obtain courses.
His courses go above and beyond what the exam needs and this is exactly why the community loves these courses as you get more practical knowledge than just cramming for the exam. The additional coverage means these courses are longer and not as cheap as other courses that cover just the exam material but in the general opinion of everyone who has taken the course it is absolutely worth it.
Link : https://learn.cantrill.io/
Udemy Courses :
Udemy is a marketplace for courses created by independent authors.
Two of the well known authors are mentioned below but please note that Udemy's pricing model can be a bit weird. One day it may show 150 USD for a course and another day 15 USD. This price it high and discount it heavily model catches out most people - so NEVER pay more than USD 20 for anything on Udemy.
Just wait for a day or so and prices may change. Opening Udemy in another incognito browser etc usually yields a different price or follow the authors on social media for codes that shrink the cost.
Stephane Maarek :
Go via his site : https://courses.datacumulus.com/ for links to his Solutions Architect Associate with the best available coupon.
Neil Davis :
https://www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-hands-on/
Either one of these Udemy courses is sufficient. You still need to combine it with practice exams but you do not need more than 1 video course.
Other sites :
Exampro.co
As mentioned above Andrew Brown has his own site with additional material over his YouTube course.
Cloud Academy
https://cloudacademy.com/learning-paths/aws-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-certification-preparation-for-aws-1-7446/ has both a learning plan and a practice exam at the end.

2. Additional Material

I will update this section soon with some additional guidance soon as I am not happy yet (please let me know in comments if there are key additional coverage I should include) - I am scouring recent exam pass posts to see whats current and also want to add links to re:Invent 2023 announcements. I also am thinking of adding in links to "cheat sheets" / docs - let me know if this would be useful.
WAF - Well Architected Framework
https://aws.amazon.com/architecture/well-architected/
You need to know at some decent depth on what the pillars are and what they do.
Read the whitpapers from https://aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/
Specifically I found the Reliability and Cost Optimization white papers very useful.

3. Practice Exams

Please do NOT fall for "dumps" - if anyone offers you the EXACT list of AWS questions or guarantees the question bank matches the exam - these are dumps. The links below are either official or well regarded sources.
Free :
AWS skillbuilder has one free official exam with just 20 free questions.
To be honest its not really worth it - you can search for "Official practic exam skillbuilder SAA-C03" using your favourite search engine to find it.
exampro.co
Has 1 free practice exam you can sign up to.
Paid :
Official Practice exam
https://explore.skillbuilder.aws/learn/course/external/view/elearning/13593/exam-prep-official-practice-exam-aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-english - there is a free 7 day trial available for you to use as this exam may not be worth a month's subscription fee
Tutorialsdojo.com
Highly recommended independent resource for practice exam questions with a very useful "review mode" and every question comes with detailed explanations on answers
Udemy
Stephane Maarek : again go via his site : https://courses.datacumulus.com/
Neal Davis : https://www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-solutions-architect-associate-hands-on/
Other popular sites :
Exampro.co
Andrew Brown has I believe 3 practice exams as well on his site. One is free - the other two you pay for.
Whizlabs
I havent used them personally but https://www.whizlabs.com/aws-solutions-architect-associate/
Cloud Academy
https://cloudacademy.com/learning-paths/aws-solutions-architect-associate-saa-c03-certification-preparation-for-aws-1-7446/ has both a learning plan and a practice exam at the end.

Not Recommended sites :

Sites that are sadly NOT recommended anymore - Avoid A Cloud Guru / Pluralsight as their courses are not considered the best anymore. They used to be leaders but somehow have fallen behind and their subscription model doesnt work in a world with cheap one time purchase courses.
If you want a sandbox to experiment - then ACG offers one but so do Whizlabs and Tutorialsdojo.

Optional / Complementary material

I have an article where you can find complementary / alternatives to the Solutions Architect Exam - most are free and includes the "AWS Knowledge : Architecting Free Digital Badge"
https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/comments/1d1o522/no_payment_options_to_learn_aws_with_digital/
This material isnt exam focused but if you want some free alternatives / cannot afford to pay for the exam - then check out the link.

FAQ

  1. Do I need ALL this material?
No. Just one of each is fine. Example : just Adrian's Course + tutorialsdojo
  1. Do I really need to do hands on work?
Yes - it is recommended that you get some hands on work at the Associate level. You can use one of the sandboxes but be careful using your own free tier account that you dont end up with leaving resources running too long and getting a big bill. Always secure your account and set billing alarms and dont create an account till you know how to do these!
  1. Where can I find vouchers for the exam?
Check this thread : https://www.reddit.com/AWSCertifications/comments/18woit6/2024_aws_vouchers_exam_discounts_othe?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
  1. Can I cheat my way using Dumps that I found online / my mate gave me / found on GitHub / YouTube?
Using dumps there is a high chance you fail and/or get caught / banned - the risk isnt worth it. Stick with genuine resources.
  1. Can I pass with just free resources as I cannot afford the resources?
Its possible but please it is recommended to atleast spend on decent practice exams. If you cannot afford the exam / resources - just get the free digital badges (Architecting) for the interim
  1. I skipped CCP / CLF - is that okay?
Yes - its okay to have skipped the foundational level - almost all the courses above teach you from scratch.
  1. Can someone who is new to IT do this exam?
Yes - Many people start from scratch and get to the Associate level. Just make sure you are investing the time required.
  1. Is it worth it?
Plenty of threads on this subreddit covering this. You have to make up your own mind if its worth it to you or not.
  1. Do I need to do coding?
While there is no coding involved in the course - knowing how to use the AWS CLI / being able to do some basic scripting would be very helpful anyway. You can also use free tools like CoPilot / Code Whisperer to help you with pieces you struggle with.
  1. Can I use ChatGPT / Amazon Q etc to learn?
Many of these Generative AI tools can still give you incorrect answers. So do not rely on them fully. If it helps you to quickly get the concept, use them but make sure to double check the results against official docs.
  1. Are there books to learn from instead of videos?
Books get out of date too quickly and I do not recommend learning from them. However there is an official Sybex Guide to the exam. Tutorialsdojo and Neal Davis (Digital Cloud) also have an ebook. You can google for links to these.
Good Luck folks!

2024.06.01 12:54 iAlex11 Best note taking system

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but I guess this also works for both new IB students and M24s who will be starting uni this year.
Basically, I will be attending college this year (currently deciding between Telecommunications Engineering + Business Analytics vs Computer Engineering) and was wondering what is the best note taking system (when I say best I say the one that works best for you, as Iā€™m looking for ideas) for college.
All my life, Iā€™ve been taking notes in paper, since my school was very traditional and didnā€™t allow computers, but these last two years Iā€™ve been doing IB in a school where they allowed computers and started taking notes digitally (Notion, Obsidian, etc.) but more often than not, I ended up printing these notes to highlight them and make annotations.
Given that I will be taking an engineering, I thought it would be a good idea to take notes using neovim + LaTeX and then binding them to study the notes when the examinations get close.
However, I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy into the iPad note-taking fever. What do you think? What works best for you?

2024.06.01 12:53 Berserk2024 Official title: Matthew Hammond age 16. Class1A cause I can. (Updated)

Official title: Matthew Hammond age 16. Class1A cause I can. (Updated)
Name Matthew Hammond age 15
Quirk: Power control
Has the ability to control a type of energy only he has.
Ways to use this energy is standard strength and speed by but the power into your muscle fibers and organs to enhance their performance. Matthew can also materialize this power in different ways. He finds out how he can do this by watching others, for example shock waves ,energy tenticals, force fields, laser eyes, power balls, or claws.
With the performance enhancing with his eyes ears and touch, he will become the weave nation president.
He is highly resistant to energy based attacks.
The main weakness is energy drain. I know what y'all probably thinking, "this is like every quirks weakness cause I using your quirk can tire you out", but his quirks energy drain.
When he use his quirk, the energy runs down and if uses a all out attack he loses the energy and cant use his quirk.
But on the good side , this energy grows back over time , and since it's his quirk energy if he goes to where he let out a huge attack, he can absorbed it back. It takes like an hour to get his power back to 100% naturally if he just goes on with his day.
Mutation: * Wolf Ears and Tail: Matthew has permanent wolf-like ears and a tail, got them from his dad.
Also he can share his energy with others to enhance their quirks cause energy works like that I think.
Elemental Forms and Powers:
  1. Lightning Form (Name: Volt)
  • Powers: Electrokinesis, Enhanced Speed
Weakness: If used too much then it will damage his nervous system temporarily.
  1. Fire Form (Name: Blaze):
  • Powers: Pyrokinesis, Heat Resistance
Weakness: if you use too much then we'll gain first degree burns.
  1. Water Form (Name: Aquos):
  • Powers: Hydrokinesis, Water Healing
Weakness: No clear weakness.
  1. Ice Form (Name: Frost):
  • Powers: Cryokinesis, Enhanced Durability
Weakness: if in a heated area, then he will get weak and slower.
  1. Light Form (Name: Radiance):
Weakness: overused will make him temporarily blind
  • Powers: Photokinesis, Illusion Projection
I put darkness here because I have light so I might as well put dark, f**k physics.
  1. Darkness Form (Name: Shadow):
  • Powers: Umbrakinesis, Intangibility
Weakness: Obviously light. Even a flashlight.
  1. Plant Form (Name: Flora):
  • Powers: Chlorokinesis, Plant Communication
  1. Metal Form (Name: Alloy):
Weakness: Overtime he'll get weaker cause of rust. Water
  • Powers: Metalkinesis, Enhanced Strength
  1. Earth Form (Name: Terra):
  • Powers: Geokinesis, Earth Manipulation
No clear weakness.
How this works is his power works like a computer l well more like just a normal computer, then a virus AKA and elements infects this power and then it slowly corrupts his powers AKA but there until his body is able to use a different elements, the form is only as strong as his original form because the element can only corrupt what is there, not make more power. A little bit of this energy is still there so that it can take back control. Each form has a mind of its own like some dark shadow type thing. The reason why his forms have minds of their own is cause if I gave him full control his forms he would swap to frequently and that would be two strong.
The reason why he can do this is when he was 3 is quirk was developing and he was exposed to radiation messing with his quirk genes and when his quirk developed it added this.
Hero Costume:
  • Appearance: Matthew's hero costume features a sleek and modern design. It includes a green suit with black accents, symbolizing his main form's green hair and eyes.
  • Symbol: The costume incorporates a stylized emblem combining the symbols of all his elemental forms, representing his fusion abilities.
  • Support Items: Matthew carries specialized bracers that enhance his control over his energy whips. Additionally, he has utility pouches to store various tools and gadgets.
He also has tubes that are like water bottle size on this belt that he charges with his energy every night before he goes to bed in case he runs out of energy himself.
Has a sword made of quirkinite(past post.)
Maximum Output Move: Master Elemental
  • Description: Matthew channels and combines the energies of all his elemental forms into one ultimate attack.
  • Effects: Elemental tattoos appear on his body, symbolizing each element's power. Lightning appears on his head, fire on his chest, water on his left arm, ice on his right arm, light on his left leg, darkness on his right leg, plant on his right shoulder, metal on his left shoulder, and earth on his back. The attack unleashes a devastating and overwhelming burst of elemental energy.
Carrys amounted cannons inspired by Titan speaker man. They harness his power into either energy balls or just flat out lasers.
To make my self clear his max form when he uses all his elements he can only use 1/10 of his forms power including him as the main guy of this whole body.
Moves
Signature move; Packs fist. When Matthew charges his entire arm with power he has the target with a powerful punch, and with the recoil he hits them again so it's like a double punch with one arm.
Normal moves:
Surge. Full cowling but different.
1 Minieye(Minigun eye): Uses his laser eyes as a mini gun to help save power and hit targets with better accuracy.
Ground capture. He uses his tentacles like energy whips by forcing them into the ground and then have to make their way to their opponent grab whatever is touching the ground, and then pull them down to immobilize them.
Field fist. By using his force fields that his energy makes, he shapes them into bigger arms for durability and extra strength.
Power kick. By constantly doing a condtant (front flip like spinjitzu but in disc form and front flip) he sticks his leg out and it hits the target. If the target has high durability the the attack will keep on going like a saw.
Support moves
Force field armor. Covers his body is compressed force field power and where's it like armor. Skin tight but durable. And it see through
Clones wolf. Exposed energy and the compression it to the point it can shape itself into a copy of him and then somehow take color. The two main differences is the clones have a limited power usage, so use too much power it disappears. And in physical design difference the clones eyes are constantly green like glowing green.
Instinct. By enhancing his hearing and touch and his brain process, he can use our off-brand ultra instinct. Laughing his hearing is touch he can feel every movement in the air you can feel everything around him, and he can hear each movement in the air with his ears, and his brain calculates how long it took for the sound to reach his ear then he knows exactly where he attacked her is.
Sword moves.
Excalibur. Three swings, x slash, then stab
Powerful blade. One big vertical slash.
Ultimate Moves.
Max power. Puts all of his power into one part of his body. Arm leg or head, then uses that power in a all out melee attack.
Alpha Surge. This is a super Saiyan like form. His energy propels him as him fly freely. Insane amount of strength, speed, durability, and power.
Single elemental moves. Each form only has three.
Fire :
Blue Star. Increase heat to the fire to the point his color turns blue as hot to the touch, all damage increased.
Fire Fist. His fist as if it was made from flames, the punch is fast and strong, and on impact it's a shockwave of fire.
Jet Drive . For places on his back shoot flames constantly for speed. and then the user does a great fire kick.
Water :
Aqua alpha. Water in a wolf head from bites down on the opponent.
Drowner. Basically a small tsunami the size of a house. Many use for chaos and confusion.
Water jet cutter. You know how the water can put a specific kind of nozzle with high pressure it could be the sharpest thing in the world, and be very dangerous. Well he can do that with the tip of his finger.
Lightning:
Pinpoint thunder. All power goes into his fingertips then he strikes at one spot.
EMP. Self-explanatory. Also works on people.
Power ground. Covers the floor in electricity.
Earth :
Earthquake. Also self-explanatory.
Crystal quake. Creates rocky spikes around the area and also as crystals to them. Depending on the crystal you have different effects, quarts will make all electric attacks go to the spikes cars quarts are conductive.
Earth wall. Makes a durable wall.
Ice:
Constant shards. Smg but ice bullets.
Domain expansion, Arctic area. Covers just about the entire area with ice, giving the user just about full control over where he is fighting.
Ice capture. Traps you point it in a giant ice crystal.
Plant:
Domain expansion, Jungles Forest. Creates. A lot of trees and plants to take control of the area.
Golem. Creates a big beast made of wood and plants.
Spear. Covers his arms with wood and vines in a sharp spear.
Metal:
Weaponry. Grabs a lot of mail and constantly makes different weapons depending on the situation, maybe even a shield.
Iron spike. Crates constant metal spikes in front of the user.
Armor. Makes armor around allies.
Light:
Beam. A big ah laser.
Bounce back. Constantly reflects off objects confusing the enemy.
Bang. Just a stun grenade, but it's coming from his hands.
Darkness.
Warper. One name, kirogiri.
Consume. Absorb things into the darkness.
Control. Mind control.
Omega move. Max element.
More of a fusion of his forms , here's the list of this was powerful forms moves.
Cryogenic Barrage Matthew gathers concentrated orbs of water and ice energy He then launches a rapid-fire volley of freezing projectiles that detonate on impact
Pyroclastic Flow
Matthew ignites streams of fire energy, blending them with molten earth and metal He sweeps his arms to direct a raging torrent of scorching lava and magma
Tempest Devastation
Matthew summons torrents of water that he infuses with electrical currents He then unleashes a violent maelstrom of electrified, crushing waves
Radiant Implosion
Matthew focuses beams of light energy, bending them with dark shadow tendrils He compresses the luminous orb, creating an imploding singularity of blinding power
Verdant Tangle Matthew interweaves thorned vines with solidified metal shards His grasping, spiked tendrils ensnare and impale anything they catch
Seismic Upheaval Matthew ruptures the ground, combining earth tremors with shard-like metal spikes Jagged, uneven terrain and piercing spikes erupt from below to impale targets
Final move.
Packs punch.
All elements in one giant punch attack.
This form it's only as powerful as Dekus 100%. He can just access this all the time. He needs to have a lot of power and needs total concentration.
PERSONALITY
He's smart nice in a way sometimes a prankster if you try to roast him you will go complete PackGod on you, if he's in a bad mood don't try to comfort him you'll just make things worse and not for him for you, he's really cocky, but not bakugo cocky hes just a bit over confident. He is very creative. He loves tech to the point if you break a 30 buck phone around him, let's just say you gonna want to do a crime in front of batman before Matthew finds you.
Background:
Favorite food: Red Beans and rice
6ft 2
His mom, him , brothers, and his sister some how got the same disease that Michael Jackson had so they all went from black to white. But since you're still African they do still have passes
Hates obsesseve people.
(I'm bout to do some bull shit y'all probably won't like.)
His older brother has a pheonix quirk and he's a hero.
His younger brother has the fusion quirk that I made in a past post)
His sister has digital master quirk but I also need in a previous post.
Any way I hope y'all like my reworked oc

2024.06.01 12:51 pianoman857 Scam Alert

Was almost scammed tonight. Here is how it went.
I am a relatively new driver (only been driving since late February), and I am still learning the ins and outs of some of the pickup spots and of UberEats itself.
While driving, during my first pickup for the evening, I received a call from "Uber support" stating that the order that I accepted needed to be canceled as the customer was at a different address and made a mistake. This has happened before so I didn't think anything of it.
The "operator" then proceeded to tell me that he would be providing a "cancelation" fee of $15.75 for my troubles. Okay, I've had something similar although it was much less, $4 I think. But for this to happen, they would need to confirm my phone number and the amount in my wallet. As I was driving I did not really think much of it and provided my number, especially since I've called Uber Support before and I do remember them confirming my number (although after the indicident I am describing, when I called they only confirmed last four digits).
The "operator" said they would call me back when I was done with another order I had picked up so they could provide me with my "fee.". Okay fine, safety first. He calls back and we confirm again the amount in my wallet. He then proceeds to tell me that I am also eligible for an additional promotion that if I complete 30 deliveries by Sunday, I will receive $200. Okay I've seen a $95 one for 10 rides on my account so this seems plausible.
He then says that I need to go offline for an hour for this to process and that he will call me back. Hm, that's strange but I guess okay. It's right at dinner time and I do well then but if it means I can get an extra $200 on the back end I guess it would be worth it. He then also says that Uber will provide an additional $30 to compensate for the missed time. Okay, that will help, so I go offline.
An hour later, he calls and says that I need to add in this new promotional debit card to my account that I can pull the $200 from on Sunday night. Hm. Okay that's strange but fine. I enter in the debit card he gives me. Then he says that I need to cash out my wallet and but he will freeze it so it will not actually go anywhere. This is getting more and more suspicious. So I start to delay him and he's getting a little frustrated but still remaining calm and trying to get me to cash out. So I said okay, I'll swipe and cash out.
But jokes on him, my default cash out is to my back account and my money goes there and not to the debit card he provided. I tell him that it was cashed out to my bank account. He then calmly says okay you can delete the card I provided and put my debit card back on. I do so. And when I said "okay what's next?" He hangs up.
I feel very stupid that I almost fell for that because I really need the extra money (why else am I driving for Uber). If I would have sent him my money (which was something like $600 for this week), I would have been REALLY short on my rent and my landlord doesn't play. Would have been tossed out for sure.
I got lucky. My wife searched online while I was driving and said this type of scam has been going on for years. Color me surprised. Wish I would have known earlier and I definitely would not have wasted prime driving time. :-/
Anyone else have something similar happen?

Typical storage space ranges from 1GB to 10GB, depending on the hosting provider and the type of plan chosen.

2024.06.01 12:30 Teddywiz999 Efficient way to learn java

Hi i want to know which is the best approach to lean java effectively. I do not know they way that i am doing is right or wrong so i am asking for some opinion and suggestions from you.
The way i am doing is
Currently, i am watching video courses from https://www.udemy.com/course/java-in-depth-become-a-complete-java-enginee but i guess i am lacking some practical exercises. I am not saying the course doesn't have enough exercises. I am saying i have to do more.
I also read some JAVA books like Effective Java(3rd Edition) and some oracle documentations.
Mostly i spend seven or eight hours a day to learn from it. [Morning 3 hours/Afternoon 5 hours].
Only watching videos is not the best approach to learn java and i got really bored.
I have done with some basics like classes, objects, variables, methods, conditions, loops and strings.
Topics i need to work on are recursion, OOPs, DSA and some advance levels like nested classes, generic, enums, functional programing(lambda). multi threading, performance optimizing, frameworks, Spring boots and so on....
So that here are some approaches.
1). Keep following the course until finish.
2). So should i do parallel approach? watch video from udemy course and also do some exercises in Hackerrank and leetcode? In here i would like to mention the following. 2.1) During doing some problem solving, should i use AI or try to solve on my won. I understand using AI all the time is not a good approach. So i try to solve my own first and take some time googling or stackoverflowing. If i cannot think anymore i use chatgpt or discussion to get the answer.
3). Watching only udemy video course is boring and I also want to spend some time and build projects but i do not know how to build and what to build. So should i skip some fundamentals and start doing projects and go back to fundamental when i get stuck?
4). Copy other people projects. I look around some udemy spring boot course https://www.udemy.com/course/spring-hibernate-tutorial/ and code along with the instructor?
It is not only about JAVA but also about every type of programming languages i want to learn.
Thank you so much to everyone who give feedbacks and suggestions for me. i really appreciate your time and ideas. Thank you.

2024.06.01 12:15 Tramch Help: any step by step tutorial for a beginner

Hi all,
Iā€™m exploring the HX99G barebone for a first Mini PC for gaming. I have ā€˜t build a pc before nor used one, especially Windows in more than 20 years.
Iā€™ve been reading this sub and checking some youtube videos, and see a lot of BIOS, drivers and setting talk that i have no idea about šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜¬.
Iā€™m planning to get the below to add to the machine: - G.Skill D5S64GB 5600 (i also saw someone say that the settings ned to change to cap it at 5400?! How? Where?) - Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD, 2TB
I have a couple questions: does the barebone come with heatsink thingies for the above?
Where do i start to install windows and have a working machine? I havenā€™t found any easy to follow tutorial. I found this: https://www.minisforum.com/front/support/70/HX99G but iā€™m not sure what to do with all these and how to use them.
I would appreciate any help šŸ˜ƒ

2024.06.01 12:07 nuggetscholar [TOMT] [MUSIC] [2020s] American trio shoegaze/grunge band

Trio band from the US, 2 males and 1 female, if not mistaken. the band is relatively new I think, first album between 2021 or 2022. their genre is like shoegaze or grunge, something like that. they sing in english. I stumbled across this band in spotify some weeks ago, and I played some of their songs, but it's not in my listening history. I can't remember the band's name or their songs/albums. I'd say they're pretty famous, got like 200kā€“300k monthly listeners, could be higher though.
edit ā€” more details I remembered: - their spotify avataheader is like a digitally drawn character head - in their spotify image gallery, I remember two images, one where the trio is inside a bedroom, and one where they're in the woods
