My 11 month old Cocker Pointer is crate trained and will go to bed around 10-11pm. Before the clocks changed (I think they went back? We're BST) she would wake up at 7am or just after.
However now the clocks have gone back and she's getting up at 6am (which I get would make sense to them) but we're struggling to adjust her schedule again. When we got her, it was easier adjusting schedule when it changed to winter time. We think she's waking up because the birds are shouting, her crate is completely covered and all the curtains closed so we don't think it's because of any light.
Neither my husband or I are morning people and when she wakes up, we go outside for potty and then go back to sleep on the couch and she sleeps beside us. She won't go back in her crate after and just cries the whole time (this is what we did last time we had to adjust her schedule and it worked). We think it's because the birds outside are shouting that she's staying awake.
Does anyone have any ideas, advice or tips that might help? The early mornings are really starting to take a toll on us and I just don't think we can manage this way throughout the rest of summer.

My girlfriends don't give me great advice nor want to hear me complain, so here I am.
Husband and I have been together for years and lived together for a year. We're both stressed out because we just got married, moved to the middle of nowhere, got a house that needs lots of love, and started our new jobs within a couple of months.
He's stressed about renovations on the house plus his high position at work. I'm stressed out about my job. I feel outcasted and extremely stupid as a new-ish nurse on a critical care unit. The nurses here talk mad sh*t. But I suck it up because I need to learn all of this. I work nights, which isn't my first rodeo, so my body at least knows what to expect. It is so hard to learn after midnight, while doing the job and only getting 4-5 hours of sleep every day. Again, totally expected and I'm trucking through. And yes I use black out curtains, melatonin, sleep mask, and white noise.
He used to not understand my sleep schedule until I'd threaten to wake him up 3am to ask him why he's lazy and still asleep. Why? Because he used to call me lazy for sleeping until 2pm after coming home from work at 8am. And I normally go to sleep around 10am. There are hours when I just space out or am on my phone for a couple of hours because I'm so dead tired, but my brain doesn't want to shut off. He calls me lazy.
He expects me to do all the house chores, but the moment he runs out of underweasocks/pants, I'm lazy. He has extra pairs that he just doesn't want to wear. I told him to buy more or that I would buy him more and he refused. Recently I did 3 nights. Took 2 days off (technically 1.5 days) to do all the chores + paint/tape up one of our rooms. Worked another 3 nights. Slept for 5.5 hours and went out to run an errand on my day off. I took a nap and heard him scream. He ran downstairs. Furiously clapped his hands in my face to wake me up. Why? Because I didn't do the laundry for his upcoming family vacation. Sorry, but am I your mommy? Am I supposed to keep up with your clothes for your trip? My brain was barely there.
So, I yelled back at him to do his own crap and said he would. He proceeded to do some of his laundry and told me to do the rest. Fine by me if you say it politely. Well, I was upset/spaced out/cried on the couch. He then turned off all the light switches and slammed the basement door. I know I'm such a baby for saying this. But he knows I have a fear of being alone in a dark basement. My mom used to lock me in the basement as a kid. I also don't like my clothes on the floor. I found my towel on the floor, which I knew was his doing.
I hate tattling, but I've told his mom before that there are times when I can't catch up with chores after working long shifts (12-13 hours) and trying to have my body recover for the next shift. His mom has been supportive and told me to worry about my mental health first and to leave the dishes in the sink and whatnot.
I told him nursing is sucking the life out of me and that I should become a psychologist or librarian or film maker. He wants me to stay as a nurse, so I can have 4 days off to do the chores. I guess I'm just a maid who gives awesome blowjobs. I can't imagine having a child with this guy. He will not lift a finger and will probably call me lazy for being on maternity leave. He's already saying how unfair it is that he can't have paternity leave.

1st: Im currently trying to get to Rev 8 to unlock the Warden Helmet so I can try and start Blaze Slayer. The Problem is I cant do T5 Revs. I tryed using 3/4 crimson and 3/4 necron with a tarantula helmet, A Reaper Falchion, Epic Tiger and the Bloody reforge with around 900mp. beat them 1 or 2 times out of 10 but it took over a minute to kill by just running away and hitting. Tryed to kill it by standing under the Bars so that there is no TNT but after a short time he just onehits me. My question is how can i manage to kill rev5 consistantly and relativly fast. What gea reforge/strat would you recommend. All videos that i watched seem to kill it easy with equal gear so i dont know what Im missing.
2nd: Trying to get to Eman 7 aswell, Doing it with the cheese spot and a Hype, Aurora and an edrag. But i feel like my damage is way too low, other People with equal gear do it in like half the time. Furthermore im often running out of Mana half way through even when using a Phantom Rod and overflux to gain mana. Getting more Mana regeneration doesnt seem to do much (mostly upgraded it on my equipment since it is a lot cheaper but should give the same amount). Is there a way to get more hype dmg and mana sustain (currently working on getting enchanting max) or would it be better if i just use another methode than rmc for Eman (struggeled to even do T3 with melee)
I think i have a good balance between MR and MP on my Aurora and equipment but i don`t know if focusing on MP or MR is better and at what MP/MR stats i would have no mana issue anymore (even when doing Spider Slayer on Crimson Isle i run out of mana at some point)

Earlier, I was reaching for our curtain since my partner usually clips it high to prevent our toddler from opening/peeking through the window. Especially now that it's very hot.
For reference my height is just 5'3 ft and reaching the curtain around 6ft. I have to tiptoe to unclip it from our window.
Then I suddenly blacked out. Lost consciousness for a few seconds and when I gain consciousness again I was sitting and my legs and head are bumping itself from the wall near our window. I don't remember falling and loosing balance. I dont know what happened just found myself sitting and bumping myself to the wall.
Is this signs of seizures?

We're back with another black standing analysis post. This time, it's B Block's turn for a look-see.
There have been quite a few developments over in B Block, both inside and outside the ring. My heartfelt well-wishes go out to Francesco Akira. I hope you recover quickly and completely. However, his exit from the BOSJ has changed the landscape of B Block considerably. It's not quite as flat as A Block is, and we've seen a contention elimination even before this past show, but nonetheless there's still a lot to be said, so I'll say it all.
First, a bit of admin. Usually, I don't start looking at ties until the 2nd last day. However, because of the forfeit results for Akira's remaining matches, my dataset has shrunk just enough to start taking draw results into account for the odds in this post, so do note that those are included. However, I still won't be going into detail on ties until the next post.
Also, I'm making a change to my draw calculations. For this tournament, I'll be giving draw results for each match a half weight in each person's chances of winning, so the more ties a certain outcome will need, the less weight it'll hold in the final number. For those of you who don't care about the math and just care about the number, it means that a person will have a lower number if they rely too much on draws to qualify.
Lastly, as usual, you may also view my BOSJ 31 results summary page here. I'm manually updating it as we go along the tournament. It contains the schedule of the matches, results, and a summary of the top 20 best matches of the tournament (based on CageMatch Ratings).
With all that out of the way, let's have a look at the standings
Like I said, we've already had some contention eliminations in B Block, and the field isn't as flat as A Block's (1 10-point difference between the top and bottom of the block, vs A Block's 4-point difference). However, there are still 7 guys with 8 points and above, but even that isn't as level as it may seem. What do I mean? Well, let's get into it, starting with our sole block leader ...
Even disregarding the gimme from Akira, Eagles would still be in a strong position. He has a number of strong wins over current top contenders, and only a single loss of consequence, which isn't terrible in a format that takes the top two winners. The forfeit win also means that he has less matches left to worry about, so that's both less physical strain on himself and less variability in his chances. Overall, Akira dropping out was a good thing for Eagles.
All Eagles has to worry about now are his two remaining matches. However, they will not be easy. Up next will be a real test as he takes on Hiromu Takahashi on the next show. After that battle, he'll have a bit of a break before facing Douki on the last day of B Block competition. Can Eagles make his first journey past the block phase of a BOSJ? He'll have to beat some tough opponents in the next week to do it, but he's pretty damn close.
But where will that victory have to come from? Well, his next two opportunities will come from Bullet Club brothers. He takes on the War Dogs' Drilla Moloney on the 26th, and House of Torture's Sho on the 28th. These all-Bullet Club matches don't tend to go too hard, but they are also incredibly unpredictable, so anything goes for Ishimori. Lastly, he'll have to take on his perennial rival here in New Japan for his final match: Hiromu Takahashi. It's a funky final phase for Ishimori, but he certainly has the tools to make it through. It's just a matter of putting it all together, and Ishimori can make it out of the blocks for the first time since 2018.
So who does that mean for Kushida? Well, because he's dealt with most of the top of this block, his last few matches will be against relatively low-performing wrestlers. The only 8-pointer he has yet to face is Douki, and that'll happen on the 28th, while his other two matches will be against people at the bottom of the block: Ninja Mack on the 26th and Dragon Dia on the 31st. It seems like an easier road than some of the others, but wild things can happen in the final days of these tournaments. Kushida better be careful, lest he gets spoiled.
If he wants big wins, though, he'll certainly have the opportunity to get them, because his next two matches will be doozies. First up is Hiromu on the 26th, followed by Ishimori on the 28th. If he can win both of those matches, He's pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs. After that, he'll just have to wrap up his tournament against the crowd favorite Ninja Mack.
So you know what that means? That's right. It means that he'll be having a gauntlet for his final stretch of matches, with all of them being against current contenders. It'll be Robbie Eagles on the 26th, Drilla Moloney on the 28th, and Taiji Ishimori on the 31st. He's had prior history with all of them, and they've all been in top form this tournament, so he's got his work cut out for him in the toughest final matches of the Block. Do you believe in Hiromu?
So what does Douki have to do to hit 12? Well, first he has a long break from tournament competition, as he was supposed to face Akira on the next show. Instead, his next tournament match will be against Kushida on the 28th, followed by Robbie Eagles on the last day. It'll be a technical test of Douki's skills. Will he pass the exam, or will Douki Chokey?
As for himself, he needs to stay on track. His next match will be against the winless Dragon Dia, so that should be a very winnable match for him. After that, he closes his tournament early, because his final match was supposed to be against Akira on the final block day. Instead, his final block match will be against Taiji Ishimori on the 28th. We'll see if Sho can climb out of this hole he's dug for himself.
His remaining matches will still certainly be spectacles, though, I'm sure. Kushida on the 26th, Dragon Dia on the 28th, and Drilla Moloney on the 31st. Regardless of how it turns out, though, Ninja Mack has certainly caught eyes from around the world, so at the very least, he'll have that to take away from the tournament.
His next matches aren't too momentous, as he faces two guys in the bottom of the block. That being said, if he can win his next match against the IWGP Jr. Champion Sho, then that may make this whole journey worth it. After that will be Ninja Mack, who's hanging by a thread himself and will likely be eliminated from contention by that point. However, his final match against Kushida may be his biggest opportunity left. If he can prove himself against a former ace of New Japan's Junior division, it would be a huge deal for him. Let's see if he can do it.

The forfeit win also means that he has less matches left to worry about, so that's both less physical strain on himself and less variability in his chances. Overall, Akira dropping out was a good thing for Eagles.
All Eagles has to worry about now are his two remaining matches. However, they will not be easy. Up next will be a real test as he takes on Hiromu Takahashi on the next show. After that battle, he'll have a bit of a break before facing Douki on the last day of B Block competition. Can Eagles make his first journey past the block phase of a BOSJ? He'll have to beat some tough opponents in the next week to do it, but he's pretty damn close.
2) Taiji Ishimori

But where will that victory have to come from? Well, his next two opportunities will come from Bullet Club brothers. He takes on the War Dogs' Drilla Moloney on the 26th, and House of Torture's Sho on the 28th. These all-Bullet Club matches don't tend to go too hard, but they are also incredibly unpredictable, so anything goes for Ishimori. Lastly, he'll have to take on his perennial rival here in New Japan for his final match: Hiromu Takahashi. It's a funky final phase for Ishimori, but he certainly has the tools to make it through. It's just a matter of putting it all together, and Ishimori can make it out of the blocks for the first time since 2018.
3) KUSHIDA

- 26.4% to go to the playoffs:

So who does that mean for Kushida? Well, because he's dealt with most of the top of this block, his last few matches will be against relatively low-performing wrestlers. The only 8-pointer he has yet to face is Douki, and that'll happen on the 28th, while his other two matches will be against people at the bottom of the block: Ninja Mack on the 26th and Dragon Dia on the 31st. It seems like an easier road than some of the others, but wild things can happen in the final days of these tournaments. Kushida better be careful, lest he gets spoiled.
4) Drilla Moloney

- 26.4% to go to the playoffs:

If he wants big wins, though, he'll certainly have the opportunity to get them, because his next two matches will be doozies. First up is Hiromu on the 26th, followed by Ishimori on the 28th. If he can win both of those matches, He's pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs. After that, he'll just have to wrap up his tournament against the crowd favorite Ninja Mack.

He's had prior history with all of them, and they've all been in top form this tournament, so he's got his work cut out for him in the toughest final matches of the Block. Do you believe in Hiromu?

Will he pass the exam, or will Douki Chokey?

As for himself, he needs to stay on track. His next match will be against the winless Dragon Dia, so that should be a very winnable match for him. After that, he closes his tournament early, because his final match was supposed to be against Akira on the final block day. Instead, his final block match will be against Taiji Ishimori on the 28th. We'll see if Sho can climb out of this hole he's dug for himself.

Regardless of how it turns out, though, Ninja Mack has certainly caught eyes from around the world, so at the very least, he'll have that to take away from the tournament.

His next matches aren't too momentous, as he faces two guys in the bottom of the block. That being said, if he can win his next match against the IWGP Jr. Champion Sho, then that may make this whole journey worth it. After that will be Ninja Mack, who's hanging by a thread himself and will likely be eliminated from contention by that point. However, his final match against Kushida may be his biggest opportunity left. If he can prove himself against a former ace of New Japan's Junior division, it would be a huge deal for him. Let's see if he can do it.
What's Next?
The next show will be another double-block day for the BOSJ. With Akira out, only 4 B Block matches are scheduled for the show. the biggest ones will be the top 2, as they feature guys very much still in contention. The first is Ishimori vs Moloney, who are practically neck-and-neck in this race, and the second is Hiromu vs Eagles, the ace vs the block leader. We'll also have Kushida vs Ninja Mack and Sho vs Dragon Dia in a pari fo 8-pointer vs outsider matches. Can Robbie extend his lead, or will there be a massive pile-up at the 10-point mark? A lot can go down for B Block on this next show.That'll be all for this post. I'll be rounding up the A Block summary for this past show shortly. Hello, I thinking of upgrading my Hisense 40-inch 1080p 60hz LED TV to something way better. I'll be mainly using this TV for gaming on my PS5 and maybe some movies here and there, So I don't care about Dolby Vision because the PS5 doesn't support it anyway. The TV also doesn't need to be super bright (Bright TVs hurt my eyes anyway) and my room only has one window with a curtain so my room can be as dark as I want it to be (my current TV only does 250 cd/m on a plain white screen and I'm fine with it), According to RTINGs the Samsung is brighter and has better color saturation but it lacks in sharpness and color accuracy, and I heard it has some burn-in issues, its also more expensive than the LG here in South Africa, with a price around ZAR25000 (1 USD = 18 ZAR), while the CS3 is around ZAR 21000, in this context the LG would be my first pick but according to RTINGs as well, the LG has some VRR issues (Flickering) in very dark scenes, which is kinda pushes me away from the TV. If the CS3/C3 still has these VRR issues I would pick it and if it doesn't (anymore) I would go for it. Can somebody help me?

Preface this with a) I know winforms is ancient and b) it could well be that I’m new to programming, C# and winforms, so not using it correctly.
I’m having a really hard time wrapping my head around doing anything with datagridviews beyond displaying some simple objects. It feels way more complicated/clunky than it should be, but maybe I’m missing something?
I’m pulling data from a postgres database, wanting to do reporting and have things like a totals row anchored to the bottom, merging objects (joining?). Even properly setting up combobox columns is escaping me. I’m worried that doing anything non-trivial (connected objects where an upstream change should trigger a cascade of changes across other objects and their binding sources/datagridviews?) will be a nightmare to setup.
Is this just a winforms thing? Is it easier in more modern ui frameworks? Do I just need to learn how to implement them properly?

Ok , so LA Fitness Pompano Beach , Florida 1000 north federal highway 33062
The sales manager there for the sake of legalities will only be referred to by her first name which is witch
LA fitness has already fired her once before then they bought her back in September of2021
Reason for termination is unclear but was said to be discrimination against African Americans, Gays/ LGBTQ community and making anti semetic remarks but nobody knows for sure what the reason was for here termination, but it had ti be bad enough for them to hire her , Luis Maio one of her former sales his said “ I heard it was for embezzlement “ if that’s even true , since when did embezzlement become a re- hirable offense???????? ( again no one knows its that’s true except for the higher ups at LA Fitness
On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to
The Witch/ dark haired sales manager who proceeded to tell him
“ oh you know Dante has been missing from the front desk for 10 minutes now, the disabled employee responded “ I’m sure he’s in the gym , maybe just using the restroom, “
Sales Manager the Witch response was:
“ oh come on now James , you know how THEY are ( referring to African American people in general) he’s missing in action by now he’s probably already home counting his welfare and food stamps balance” she continues “ you and I weren’t raised that way , we were bought up differently “ the disabled employee, proceeded to tell her “ I’m sure he’s in the gym and I’ll find him”, however you and I are nothing alike you are a racist and as soon as I find Dante, I’m reporting you ( sales manager ) to Human Resources “
The Witch didn’t care as she was just about to have this young kid fired for in her words “ time fraud”
In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?
Mind you he was not even gone from the front desk but 6 minutes I checked the video footage!!!
Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!
And we proceeded to tell him that the witch said; you “ were probably missing in action already home counting his food stamps and welfare checks”!! Imagine how he must have felt extremely awful we proceeded to contact Human Resources and reported her to them snot her racist remarks.
They said “ oh we will look into it”
Did they ??? No, never !!!!
They allow her to behave like this and it’s been going on for years now !!
Mind you a good percentage of the members that pay her paychecks are African American or of Caribbean descent , in addition many of the members are of the LGBTQ community!!!
Obviously they are not aware of the racism there because if I we’re African American/ Cary, I’d cancel my membership and bring my business to any other gym besides LA Fitness but since they don’t know any of this nor do any members of the LGBTQ community which also many of the members there also identify as LGBTQ !!
So the front desk person who also happens to be of LGBTQ community, and identifies as such ,
Sales Manager The Witch decided she was going to send slanderous/ defamatory emails in retaliation for the front desk guy ,James , to Human Resources, all of which his front desk boss Frank went to Sales Manager The Witch on THREE separate times begging her and telling her to “ stop sending slanderous/ defamatory emails about my employee James who happens to be disabled, he additionally told her that Human Resources, copied Operations Manager Frank on her emails he to sales manager The Witch
Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”
Her response was:
“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’
James immediately recognized the guy ( Damien) and said can I see you’re I’d or scan in for me. Obviously he knew he was banned so James said you have to leave , that’s when he said “ I k ow what you drive you know how I roll and that I’m packing!!!
Earlier in that same Day ,Area Manager Robert attempted to “ Terminate “ James because he felt Joni and him could not get along!!
James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!
Sales Manager the witch told the janitor
“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! Kinda unbelievable, apparently they also didn’t realize that falsification of termination or any employment records was illegal and whoever’s names are on those papers , is facing criminal charges.
James happened to run into the girl they used as their scapegoat and had her lie fir them so they could at least have something on him to terminate him, what they didn’t think about the highly unlikely chances The girl they had lie for them and James would ever cross paths , well they did in a store in Pompano City Place while shopping !
Bottom line , James wants this to go to court in front of a judge trial , jury and MEDIA, he’d rather NOT settle , he wants Everyone to know what happened to him Plus how they treat their employees.
After plenty of discussions with numerous legal entities and Attorneys, they all agree that IF LA Firness consulted with their in house attorneys, , they would have NEVER advised them to convict a story and have another employee or employees to lie and falsify documents . La Fitness has options like for example take the time have a sit down meeting and figure out why the witch hated James, then simply say , ok if you hate him and now he definitely hates you , , Witch you live in Boca, James you live in Oaklsnd Park, would either of you consider the option of transferring??
But they Never employed any type of conflict resolution, which is commonplace in most ethical workplaces , but remember, this is LA Fitness, they have no logic or do not know how to resolve easily resolvable situations.
As consumers you HAVE a right to know what is going on behind the scenes at any business you give you’re hard earned money to, imagine if it was you’re child the Witch accused the young kid wiring the front desk of being on food stamps and welfare, even worse imaging if they had asked you’re son or daughter to lie for them and not even tell you’re child or loved one what the legal consequences were for making falsified statements or signing falsified employment documents which were turned over to the Department of Labor!! That’s an entire different legal situation they put themselves into . They ( La fitness ) thought “ oh what are the chances of them running into each other?” Well they did

LA fitness has already fired her once before then they bought her back in September of2021

On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to

In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?

Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!

Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”

“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’
James immediately recognized the guy ( Damien) and said can I see you’re I’d or scan in for me. Obviously he knew he was banned so James said you have to leave , that’s when he said “ I k ow what you drive you know how I roll and that I’m packing!!!
Earlier in that same Day ,Area Manager Robert attempted to “ Terminate “ James because he felt Joni and him could not get along!!
James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!

“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! Kinda unbelievable, apparently they also didn’t realize that falsification of termination or any employment records was illegal and whoever’s names are on those papers , is facing criminal charges.
James happened to run into the girl they used as their scapegoat and had her lie fir them so they could at least have something on him to terminate him, what they didn’t think about the highly unlikely chances The girl they had lie for them and James would ever cross paths , well they did in a store in Pompano City Place while shopping !
Bottom line , James wants this to go to court in front of a judge trial , jury and MEDIA, he’d rather NOT settle , he wants Everyone to know what happened to him Plus how they treat their employees.
After plenty of discussions with numerous legal entities and Attorneys, they all agree that IF LA Firness consulted with their in house attorneys, , they would have NEVER advised them to convict a story and have another employee or employees to lie and falsify documents . La Fitness has options like for example take the time have a sit down meeting and figure out why the witch hated James, then simply say , ok if you hate him and now he definitely hates you , , Witch you live in Boca, James you live in Oaklsnd Park, would either of you consider the option of transferring??
But they Never employed any type of conflict resolution, which is commonplace in most ethical workplaces , but remember, this is LA Fitness, they have no logic or do not know how to resolve easily resolvable situations.
As consumers you HAVE a right to know what is going on behind the scenes at any business you give you’re hard earned money to, imagine if it was you’re child the Witch accused the young kid wiring the front desk of being on food stamps and welfare, even worse imaging if they had asked you’re son or daughter to lie for them and not even tell you’re child or loved one what the legal consequences were for making falsified statements or signing falsified employment documents which were turned over to the Department of Labor!! That’s an entire different legal situation they put themselves into . They ( La fitness ) thought “ oh what are the chances of them running into each other?” Well they did

To preface, I have a borderline special kid. He’s unbelievably smart but also mildly autistic. He thinks a lot and therefor rests his mind a lot. 12-14 hours of sleep a day was normal for most of his life. Overall he is above average- goes to school with 6-year olds and hangs out with 6 year olds and studies at that level.
We’ve entered a rocky period where we don’t know what to do. He revolts sleep but badly needs it. My wife and I argue on what the best plan of attack is.
To summarize: If I ask him to nap he says no. If I force him to nap he will sleep for 3 hours straight then won’t sleep again till midnight. If I take away naps, he is overtired and violent and still won’t sleep till 8-9pm. If I let him sleep for only 1 hour he is overtired and violent.
The hardest part is that sometimes he will not nap or sleep, resulting in 5-6 hours of rest in a 24 hour period. Often we do physical activity and he will absolutely need a nap, even though the plan is to not let him sleep during the day. It blows my mind that he’ll say no and fight every chance to nap when he’s so tired he’s falling off his chair at lunch time.
I’ve even tried giving in and just accepting he doesn’t want to sleep. He went on about 18 hours of sleep over 3 days then absolutely crashed hard with lots of mental breakdowns and crying.
He’s mentioned several times he’s afraid of the dark but won’t sleep during the day with the curtains open a little, or sleep at night with the lights on, or sleep with a parent with him.
There never seems to be a right answer. No matter how much we fine-tune it, it always ends in a train wreck. The most success I’ve had is letting him play until he crashes, which is usually about 4pm, but then obviously he won’t sleep at night.

To start I like to give some background. I have worked with sockets in both C# and Java for different kinds of applications ranging from game servers to web servers. So I am quite familiar with it at this point. One of them is on GitHub: AdvancedSockets. Also, while I work on both Windows and Linux I primarily use Linux desktop.
This month I decided I like to learn more about doing socket programming in C++ as a project I am working on could benefit from this. A quick research pointed me to some SO articles and tutorials. But all of them are using the socket API in C. Not once did I find anything about a high-level socket library in C++.
Okay.. no prob right? I decided to give C sockets a try. Surely it isn't that hard? After all I got experience already! And sure enough it didn't take me long to get a TCP client up 'n running. But then.. I learned. It only works on *NIX systems. Yep. For some reason, Windows does it differently. Imagine my surprise when I learned it required a near complete rewrite of my code because now I had to approach it differently just for WinSock.
Okay, a couple of days and cursing later. I managed to make a TCP client that connects to my humble Java server both on Linux and Windows. Cool. Now, time for timeouts. Doing so in C# and Java is easy enough. Surely it cannot be such a problem in C, right? Setting read and write timeouts was easy enough. Just using setsockopt and I am good to go. Now as for connection timeouts. Maybe also with setsockopt? Nope, need to unblock the whole damn socket and need to do stuff with either select or poll apparently. Never read anything about them and neither did I find any useful docs aside from the manual text I get in CLion. SO articles make me only more confused about the subject too.
And if that isn't bad enough. Some answers on SO claim I should avoid select all together and use poll instead. But I fail to find any good examples or tutorials about the use of poll while I find examples for select. And who is to say it is even the right approach as of today? Honestly it is getting frustrating at this point. I am not interested in writing a TCP socket class like this. I am only interested in using a TCP socket class. I only went this far because it didn't seem to be so much work at first. But I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Therefore I would like to ask:

James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!
Sales Manager the witch told the janitor
“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! Kinda unbelievable, apparently they also didn’t realize that falsification of termination or any employment records was illegal and whoever’s names are on those papers , is facing criminal charges.
James happened to run into the girl they used as their scapegoat and had her lie fir them so they could at least have something on him to terminate him, what they didn’t think about the highly unlikely chances The girl they had lie for them and James would ever cross paths , well they did in a store in Pompano City Place while shopping !
Bottom line , James wants this to go to court in front of a judge trial , jury and MEDIA, he’d rather NOT settle , he wants Everyone to know what happened to him Plus how they treat their employees.
After plenty of discussions with numerous legal entities and Attorneys, they all agree that IF LA Firness consulted with their in house attorneys, , they would have NEVER advised them to convict a story and have another employee or employees to lie and falsify documents . La Fitness has options like for example take the time have a sit down meeting and figure out why the witch hated James, then simply say , ok if you hate him and now he definitely hates you , , Witch you live in Boca, James you live in Oaklsnd Park, would either of you consider the option of transferring??
But they Never employed any type of conflict resolution, which is commonplace in most ethical workplaces , but remember, this is LA Fitness, they have no logic or do not know how to resolve easily resolvable situations.
As consumers you HAVE a right to know what is going on behind the scenes at any business you give you’re hard earned money to, imagine if it was you’re child the Witch accused the young kid wiring the front desk of being on food stamps and welfare, even worse imaging if they had asked you’re son or daughter to lie for them and not even tell you’re child or loved one what the legal consequences were for making falsified statements or signing falsified employment documents which were turned over to the Department of Labor!! On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to

“ oh you know Dante has been missing from the front desk for 10 minutes now, the disabled employee responded “ I’m sure he’s in the gym , maybe just using the restroom, “

In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?
Mind you he was not even gone from the front desk but 6 minutes I checked the video footage!!!
Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!

Obviously they are not aware of the racism there because if I we’re African American/ Cary, I’d cancel my membership and bring my business to any other gym besides LA Fitness but since they don’t know any of this nor do any members of the LGBTQ community which also many of the members there also identify as LGBTQ !!
So the front desk person who also happens to be of LGBTQ community, and identifies as such ,
Sales Manager The Witch decided she was going to send slanderous/ defamatory emails in retaliation for the front desk guy ,James , to Human Resources, all of which his front desk boss Frank went to Sales Manager The Witch on THREE separate times begging her and telling her to “ stop sending slanderous/ defamatory emails about my employee James who happens to be disabled, he additionally told her that Human Resources, copied Operations Manager Frank on her emails he to sales manager The Witch
Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”
Her response was:
“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’

Posting this at 3 AM because I’m so frustrated I can’t fall back asleep. My five year old won’t stay in bed at night.
She goes to bed between 730-8 and gets up at 630 on school nights, wakes up on her own at 7-730 on weekends.
Every night she gets up 2-3 times and comes in our room. She always has some excuse, her tummy hurts, she’s thirsty, her curtains are moving, etc. if you can think of an excuse she’s made it. This started happening about two months ago after we finished getting into her night time potty trained. She had an appt with pediatrician last week and he said it’s still normal for kids to need some sort of soothing at night but this is getting out of hand. My wife and I exhausted every day. We have tried a reward system of getting stickers to earn toys. We have tried positive encouragement. We have tried taking away things she likes, tablets, toys and such to telling her she can earn them back. She doesn’t care. We have tried being gentle and talking to her about how it affects us.
We used to get up and walk her back to bed or the bathroom if she said she needed to pee. Tuck her back and plead with her to stay in bed. Right now we stopped even getting out of bed and walking her back to her room, we just tell her to get back in bed.
Any advice or recommendations are appreciated. We are at our wits ends. Like I said it been about 2 months of this every night. We have gotten to the point on weekends one of us will sleep in the guest room with earplugs to try to get a good nights sleep occasionally. Feel like I’m losing my mind.

I'm working on a piece of historical fiction that involves a short scene of some students at West Point in 1829/1830. At one point they interact with then real-life superintendent of the academy, the legendary Sylvanus Thayer, but I'm not sure how they would have addressed him. Calling him "Superintendent Thayer" I'm sure isn't inaccurate, but I'm wondering if he could've also been referred to by a rank (a word shorter than "superintendent" would work better for my purposes if one can be accurately applied).
According to some sources I've found, he would have been a Major at the time, but then I found a letter from Edgar Allan Poe written just a little bit later (a few months after he was discharged from West Point) wherein he addresses him as Colonel Thayer. Given that first-hand account I suspect "colonel" is correct (assuming Thayer's rank didn't change during those months) but I want to be as certain as I can be.
I've tried my best to wrap my head around all this but have really struggled, not having much knowledge of military ranks to begin with, especially older ones.

Given that first-hand account I suspect "colonel" is correct (assuming Thayer's rank didn't change during those months) but I want to be as certain as I can be.
I've tried my best to wrap my head around all this but have really struggled, not having much knowledge of military ranks to begin with, especially older ones.

First night in Paris with my wife, a baby, and a toddler. Landed at CDG around 5:40 walked through customs which took less than 10 mins. Followed the line for taxi and 1 hour and 10 mins later we arrived in the 15th, gave the taxi driver 70E. We got situated in our Airbnb, very French apartment, windows had no curtains and creaky hardwood floors.
We got ready and it was nearly 8pm and the sun was still out. We walked down the street to find a place to eat, we saw a roundabout with 3 bistros and settled with one. Sat down and 10 mins later they took our order, they had one server that spoke English. We had French onion soup, escargot, steak, veal risotto, and kids chicken w/ frites. Everything came out in 10 mins which was crazy fast. All the food was good but I suspect it was because we were hungry from traveling all day. Only observation was my son kept asking 'what's that smell' and being a bistro with outdoor seating it was people smoking of course.
We left and walked towards the Eiffel Tower which was about 30 min walk but we had views of it because we walked along the river. We got there and I noticed there were gates now, I don't remember seeing those when I was there years ago. But they have a metal detector and bag check to go inside. We went in and waited for the light show. We found a nice bench and took in the view. It was pretty nice to be with the family and enjoying the view. The light show was nice and we left and tried to cab back home, it was 11pm by now. All the cabs were asking for 40e for a 1 mile ride. So we tried to take the bus and the wait time kept changing and went from 10 to 25 mins. We ended up walking back through the park and it felt completely safe with 2 kids past 11pm.
Nothing else to add but Paris felt pretty safe, did see signs for pickpockets while leaving the Eiffel Tower. There were a lot of people selling statues for 1e or had iPad to take your pics. We just walked by them.

Me and my friends want to get into this game because we want an in-depth character creation combined with a more rules-light game. It seems like we can (and should) play with only the basic rules of skill checks, but I can’t really wrap my head around how this game is played. My main question: How would a fight play out in this system? How would one determine the difficulty rating of a strike? Do enemies have stats?
(+ are there good tutorials/resources for beginners somewhere)
