hello, i've never really done this before. ill just get to the point. i really, really hate my dad. he's such a horrible person but i feel horrible myself for saying such a thing because he doesnt really hurt me physically and i dont think he's intentional with the way he hurts me anyway else. also maybe this has significance but ill make it clear that im a girl.
i remember being so attached to my dad and loving him tons when i was a toddler or something but it got weird as i grew up. fyi he moved my mom, me and my brother when i was a toddler to a foriegn country bc of a few problems he had with people in our motherland. he lived with us for a few years and familiarised himself with the new country before he left us with the intention to earn money in the motherland and send some to us. he was working i guess (not really working but trying to start up businesses with friends and that always backfired and then earning money by being a landlord of two flats) and i lived in another, foriegn country with my mom (housewife) and my little brother since i was like 7 ish. he would come by every three months or so for a visit and i think thats when we drifted apart. i remember being 8 and he would still treat me like i was some baby and he didnt really know how to interact with me and so he'd spew a few teases and empty i love yous and make funny faces at me and that would be it until he had to leave again. but even when i felt so unattached to him, id miss him so much and even get really sick with a horrible fever whenever he flew back to the other country. but i think that only happened once or twice before his absence or presence just never really mattered to me.
fast forward to maybe my early tweens and at this point he moved back to the foriegn country with us because he wasnt doing much there anyway. he didnt treat me badly or anything but he was still treating me like earlier, like a baby while i was like 13 ish. i remember my mom and dad fighting a lot and it seemed to always be about my dad not giving my mom the money we need, him being lazy with helping us fix things in the house or installing things (things men usually do, i guess). back then i always thought my mom was the problem because she instigated the fights and i always saw my dad as the victim who was constantly suffering from my moms nagging and yelling. i still didnt like him, but i cared for him nevertheless even if i didnt show it. id always treat him with respect and id never nag or beg or do anything other than respond to his empty i love yous with one back and a small smile. that was really all i did with him.
again now fast forward to 2021. since the economy or whatever you call it was... suffering? (idk the word im sorry), my dad moved back to our homeland and left my mom and brother and myself in the foriegn country. things were great without him, honestly. since he knew we needed the money he earned more than ever, he wasnt as selfish or spendy with it as he was before. he would send my mom almost all the cash with just about 20 percent or something for himself. my mom is a great woman, no a great person. she's handy, good with money and all that so we fared well. we were happy for the first time ever. my mom was able to buy us good food, new clothes every month, go out to eat at kfc or wherever quite often. i became a lot more religious and i was so close to God and i felt amazing in every way. i didnt miss my dad at all. i was so happy i didnt have to deal with him and his empty i love yous and weirdness. but i would never ever say i hated him. i still loved him i guess. i was about 15 or 16 then.
but i think after a few months of all that happiness, it all went downhill after he came back for a bit, left again and my mom found out he had cheated on her one night. now i really hated him and i realised i resented him all these years and it just poured out. my mom was so depressed and i didnt feel much. i just accepted it (i believed it the first time i heard it) and was like, ok great! this can justify my weird feelings for him and i ca now just turn all these weird feelings into hate and hate him openly and proudly! so in a way, i was relieved.i didnt talk to him after that, (not that i ever really made the first move and called him, i more accepted his calls when they came twice every week or something) but i just cut him off.
i told my mom i hated him a few days later and she ended up telling him that too after she called him to get answers (which he refused to give her) and upon hearing that he cried. he texted me a bit later (first time we made contact ever since he cheated) and he told me he loved me so much and some other stuff i dont remember. all i remember was locking myself in my room and feeling so sad when i realised my father thinks hes hated by his only daughter (something he very often referred to me as) and i just bawled my eyes out like never before and texted back telling him i loved him too and that i could never hate him. i dont know what happened, i regret it and i just dont know why i cried and did all that. i felt so guilty because i thought he really loved me tons but for some reason i just didnt feel the same way. so i felt like the worst daughter ever bc i never put in much effort to knowing him or interacting with him outside of the awkward ways he talks to me. its not like i really do love him. i hate him, i really do. well, anyway. i didnt tell anyone about that. that was kind of the end of all that drama, i knew he cheated but i was growing doubtful because he came up with all these defences and he told me he could never leave me and my brother and i think i was supposed to think, 'oh, he cant leave me or my brother so how could he cheat?' but looking back, he never said so himself. anyway, we all kinda just ignored the fact that he cheated later. he moved all of us back to our homeland shortly because he wasnt getting enough money to support us while we lived in the foriegn country.
anyway, fast forward once more (last time, im sorry its so long) now im nearly 18 and its been a good while since i lived here in my homeland. and i only now realise how much of an ass my dad is. ever since moving here, he hasnt slept in our house with my mom and he's even more selfish with his money. he tells my mom he's divorced her but there was never any paperwork. people think she's been divorced. she was always a housewife but she was practically forced into working because of how much he doesnt wanna spend on us. we live in a shitty house that needs so much work done and my mom is the one who does everything in that regard. she uses her bit of money for the renovations. since my parents dont talk, im the one who has to nag my dad for cash to get us food, water, pay bills and whatnot. and its so hard. i have to nag and nag and BEG for him for at least two weeks about ONE grocery list before he half-assedly buys it. he always tells me he has no cash, but he works a job AND is a landlord. but instead of spending on us, he gives away loans to people who havent paid him back earlier and whatnot. im nearly 18, every other person my age knows how to ride a cycle (we can get our license at 18) bc their dad taught them but ive asked and asked for him to take me out to learn and he never does. ive tried and tried to learn it on my own but apparently its essential to have an experienced person behind you and my mom also wants me to learn from a man. its embarrassing at this point. these past two weeks, ive been nagging at him about WATER. he has the audacity to leave me on delivered about these lists and requests for food and water. everytime i go out, he tells me his friends know what im upto or something bc he thinks i go out to meet with guys or something (not true, i only eat food with my friends). he goes out on drives in his car (which he spends so much money on every month, installment) with his girlfriend and yet ive never been asked to go out on a drive with him (not that i wan to anyway). he clearly doesnt care about me at all and doesnt cherish me. i feel like im complaining about nothing and sometimes i wish he just hits me or yells at me so my hate and all these weird feelings can be justified. sometimes i wish he does something so i can do something back for once and have it justified. i still treat him with respect bc its all ive ever known, to treat him like hes some stranger. i wish he just wasnt in my life at all and thats what ill make happen the moment im allowed to work and earn an income. Ill support my mom and brother like he didnt and ill cut him off. he's genuinely my biggest burden and the worst curse i could ever be afflicted with. :(
im sorry this was so ridiculously long. i didnt know what else to do and its getting too much for me to bear. i just want a dad. thats really it. not him. a real dad.

Sadly, last night is the last time I'll ever bother with the LJS's in my area. Dining area's at both close way to early. Some people cannot get out to eat until later in the evening and would enjoy sitting down in the restaurant to eat. Unfortunately, we had to go through the drive through and take it home, once again dealing with soggy fries as we live 15+ minutes from the nearest one. Then to boot we find out they, ONCE AGAIN, discontinued the mac-n-cheese. Not sure what lead to that decision, but it's really unfortunate considering the other sides are not well liked in my household. Though this does prompt me to ask, does that mean that the LJS that are combined with KFC will also stop selling mac-n-cheese? or is it only the other LJS's that are losing out?

2024.06.03 01:21 Agitated_Broccoli_28 Criticism of the Protestors’ Demands
The situation in Gaza is absolutely terrible, there is no question in that. I believe in a ceasefire and wish for a prosperous Palestine. I believe that the Palestinian cause is a cause worth fighting for. I am not Israeli, and I am mostly a liberal/progressive person. I absolutely believe in your freedom of expression and the right to protest peacefully. I believe that Israel may have committed many war crimes (up to the ICC to judge) and can’t wait for Netanyahu to be tried for war crimes.
Having said that, I am very critical of the pro-Palestinian protesters across North-American university campuses, including UBC’s, as I find many of their demands unreasonable. I don’t think anyone has told them in good faith what is wrong with their demands, and I don’t think they would accept president Bacon’s words, no matter what he says. I believe in having discussions, so let’s discuss why exactly I think their demands are unreasonable, and how they could be made more reasonable and attainable. I will focus on criticizing their demands, and not their actions such as taking over the book store, or their “no negotiations” policy.
peoplesuniversityubc’s Instagram page, who is the main social media page behind UBC’s encampment, has provided 5 demands on one of their pinned posts:
According to its 2023 Investment Management Annual Report, UBC’s Endowment Funds was valued $2.09 billion as of March 31, 2023. People's University UBC claims that “around 5.2% of UBC’s Endowment Fund is invested in companies that are complicit in the illegal occupation of Palestine”, but does not elaborate on how they got this number. I assume they are referring to the “Apartheid Investment Database 2023”, made by UBC Graduate Students for Palestine, where they have identified “88 companies complicit in Israeli crimes against humanity that UBC invests in” based on UBC’s Endowment Holding Disclosure Report.
To quote a few of the roles they claim the companies play in complicity in Israeli crimes against humanity:
Keep in mind that Israel receives hostility from a range of countries, and has a right to self-defence and to invest in its military. There are about 100,000 Hezbollah fighters on Israel’s northern border who are currently fighting Israel, about 200,000 Houthi fighters in Yemen, whose slogan is “God Is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, A Curse Upon the Jews, Victory to Islam”, and Iran who financially supports both Hezbollah and Houthis and has threatened Israel with nuclear weapons. Hamas is not the only entity that the IDF is meant for.
Furthermore, the criteria used to identify the companies seems to be very arbitrary. If having stores in Israel is within the criteria, why stop at Lululemon? Why not Adidas, Dior, Prada, Burger King, KFC, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc, all brands that have stores in Israel.
Furthermore, boycotts should be serving an end-goal, and that end-goal should be clear. E.g. once Airbnb stops listing Israeli settlements in the West Bank as rentals, the goal of the boycott would have been achieved, and Airbnb should come off the boycott list. But what is the end-goal of boycotting e.g. McDonalds? To go back in time and change their decisions? Since the boycotts started, McDonalds has bought all 225 of Israeli franchise restaurants, I assume so that they have more control over their public imagine in Israel. What does it take for McDonalds to get off the boycott list? If the companies will never make it off the boycott list, what motivation would they have to change their policies?
I think there should be clear and specific criteria for what companies should be divested from. Not “any company that has anything to do with Israel”. In my opinion, that criteria should be:
One thing UBC could potentially do, is to short sell (bet against the stock, i.e. you make money if the stock goes down) the identified companies that they have in their portfolio. That way, they wouldn’t make money if the stock goes up or down. E.g. $800k of their pooled fund invested in Lockheed Martin’s stock going up, and an additional $800k invested in Lockheed Martin's stock going down. That would be $1.6 million of funds wasted, but may be more reasonable than divesting from the entire pooled fund.

In January, UBC Okanagan’s Senate issued a resolution, condemning “the perpetration of genocide, and the violation of international laws pertaining to human rights; in this case the occupation, siege, and invasion of Gaza by the state of Israel.” I believe that UBC Okanagan’s Senate was in no position to condemn Israel for the crime of genocide. They base their condemnation on ICJ’s ruling “on 26 January 2024 that the case made by the state of South Africa that Israeli military actions in Gaza plausibly constitute genocide.” That is a misunderstanding/misrepresentation of ICJ’s ruling. The ICJ’s ruling states that the case was “plausible”, and that it would hold a full hearing. Plausibility is not that high a standard of justification to meet. It was about whether or not the court would simply dismiss the case, or they would choose to proceed with it. To Quote Judge Nolte’s (one of the judges on the case) declaration on the case:
“The Court is not asked, in the present phase of the proceedings, to determine whether South Africa’s allegations of genocide are well founded. At this stage, the Court may only examine whether the circumstances of the present case, as they have been presented to the Court, justify the ordering (“indication”) of provisional measures to protect rights under the Genocide Convention which are at risk of being violated before the decision on the merits is rendered. For this examination, the Court need not address many well-known and controversial questions, such as those relating to the right to self-defence and the right of self-determination of peoples, or regarding territorial status.”

Something that UBC can currently condemn for example, is Israel’s disregard for ICJ’s May 24th binding order to Israel to stop the Rafah offensive. But that seems too specific of a thing for UBC to condemn, unlike e.g. the broad condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I think you should get a promise from UBC to condemn Israel for genocide if ICC rules that Israel is guilty of genocide.
“Keep cops off our campus”
This demand just makes no sense. There should absolutely be a police and campus security presence, as there is in any large protest. “ACAB” and “Police are enforcers of state, colonial, capitalist, oppressive violence” are not valid claims to ask for the removal of security presence. I’m pretty sure if there were counter-protests and things started getting violent, you would want security presence. There are many students (who you can find on this subreddit) who feel unsafe that a group of masked protesters, many of whom are not UBC students are on their campus. You are in no place to demand the removal of security, when that negatively affects the rest of UBC students. For as long as your protests are peaceful, you have nothing to worry about with regards to the police.
Instead, you could demand “Ensure the safety of the protestors, and reaffirm our right to peaceful protest”, which is something UBC has already done.
“Reaffirm Palestinians’ right to resist and their right of return”
I don’t have problem with “right to resist” per-se. UNGA Resolution 37/43 “Reaffirms the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples for independence, territorial integrity, national unity and liberation from colonial and foreign domination and foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle.”
What Palestinians (or Israelis) don’t have a right to do, is to commit war crimes. If by “right to resist”, you mean calling the October 7th attack justified, then yeah no. Intentionally targeting and killing of ~800 civilians, hostage taking, and using sexual violence as a weapon of war is not justified as “right to resist”. War crimes are war crimes, be it done by Israel or Palestine. Both are to be condemned.
I think you need to be more specific with what you mean with “right to resist”, as that could mean anything, specially after the Oct 7th attack.
If UBC wants to make any comments on Palestinian’s right to resist, they would also have to make a comment on Israel’s right to defend itself after the Oct 7th attack, otherwise that wouldn’t be neutral. I think President Bacon’s statement “all universities, by their very nature, stand strong against all forms of violence, exploitation, intimidation, and discrimination,” is a better fit for this demand, specially in a conflict as complex as this.
As for the right of return, the UN also recognizes that under UNGA 194. However, I find it contradictory to support both a two-state solution and the Palestinian right of return, as the right of return undermines the two-state solution, and is more similar to a one-state solution. Israel has about 7 million Jew (73%) and 2 million Arab (21%) citizens. The population of Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip together are about 5 million. If Israel were to give the right of return to Palestinians, I think most Palestinians would use it. If all Palestinians were to move to Israel, Jew and Arab populations in Israel would be about equal, if not a slight Arab majority. Israelis are really afraid that Jews would once again become the minority. The whole point of the establishment of Israel was so that Jews would have a state for themselves, to put an end to centuries of Jewish persecution. I don’t think Israel will ever give Palestinians the right of return. I think what Israel should do, is to compensate for Palestinians’ land, and to help them develop Palestine.
As far as what UBC should say with regard to the Palestinian right of return, I really don’t know, but I think I it’s best if they don’t saying anything at all, given the complexity the matter.
Demand for a one-state solution
This is not one of their demands from UBC, and is not specific to UBC protestors. It seems like many protesters are calling for a one-state solution, with the state of Palestine governing “from the river to the sea”. I disagree with the one-state solution. Neither Israel, nor Palestine are going anywhere. The land of Israel-Palestine is the ancestral homeland to two different peoples, with very different backgrounds, identities, languages, religions, cultures, interpretations of history, and beliefs on how a state should be run. The idea that these two groups of people with 75 years of conflict can just live together in the same state is nonsense. Most academics who have spent their entire lives on this issue favour a two-state solution. The two-state solution has been endorsed by nearly the whole of the United Nations (including many Arab-Muslim states), the human rights community, and the International Court of Justice. In 1947, the UN, rightly in my opinion, voted 33 against 13 (10 abstain) in favour of the two-state partition plan.
Or perhaps your demand isn’t for the Jews and Arabs to live together, it is to kick out the Jews, or “deal with them” if they don’t leave. In that case, you are no different than the people you are criticizing.
By calling for the dismantling of the state of Israel, not only are you not helping to promote peace, you are harming Palestinians by further fueling decades of Palestinian rejectionism of Israel’s right to exist. You are telling them “do not compromise, do not make peace with Israel, they are evil. Just wait just a bit longer and we will liberate all of Palestine for you”. The Palestinians have rejected almost every single peace proposal put forward by Israel, I think in part, in hopes that one day the Arab world or the Western world will give them all of Palestine. That day is not going to come. This rejectionism has only harmed the Palestinians for the past 75 years, while Israel has made peace with the neighbouring Arab countries and has moved forward.
And how exactly do you plan to dismantle Israel? You need to recognize that Israel and Israeli citizens also have a self-interest, which they are not going to just give up because of your slogans. If you want Israel to be dismantled, you’re going to have to go to war with Israel and win. The Arab countries have tried multiple times (1948, 1967, 1973), and every time, it worsened the situation for Palestinians.
I know they sound catchy, but if you want to be taken seriously, please refrain from calling for a one-state solution by shouting slogans such as “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, “settlers, settlers, go back home, Palestine is ours alone”, or “we don’t want two-states, give us back 48”.

Having said that, I am very critical of the pro-Palestinian protesters across North-American university campuses, including UBC’s, as I find many of their demands unreasonable. I don’t think anyone has told them in good faith what is wrong with their demands, and I don’t think they would accept president Bacon’s words, no matter what he says. I believe in having discussions, so let’s discuss why exactly I think their demands are unreasonable, and how they could be made more reasonable and attainable. I will focus on criticizing their demands, and not their actions such as taking over the book store, or their “no negotiations” policy.
peoplesuniversityubc’s Instagram page, who is the main social media page behind UBC’s encampment, has provided 5 demands on one of their pinned posts:
- Divest from all companies complicit in the Israeli apartheid regime and the oppression and genocide of the Palestinians.
- Participate in global academic boycott of Israeli universities and institutions.
- Publicly condemn and demand an end to the genocide in Gaza
- Keep cops off our campus. The RCPM engages in suppression and violence against BIPOC and other marginalized communities.
- Reaffirm Palestinian’s right to resist and their Right of Return.
According to its 2023 Investment Management Annual Report, UBC’s Endowment Funds was valued $2.09 billion as of March 31, 2023. People's University UBC claims that “around 5.2% of UBC’s Endowment Fund is invested in companies that are complicit in the illegal occupation of Palestine”, but does not elaborate on how they got this number. I assume they are referring to the “Apartheid Investment Database 2023”, made by UBC Graduate Students for Palestine, where they have identified “88 companies complicit in Israeli crimes against humanity that UBC invests in” based on UBC’s Endowment Holding Disclosure Report.
To quote a few of the roles they claim the companies play in complicity in Israeli crimes against humanity:
- General Electric: “provides engines that are used in Israel’s air and naval military forces, including T700-GE-701C engines in the UH-60 Black Hawk and the Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopters” (i.e. they are a third-party to Sikorsky Aircraft and Boeing)
- Safran: “Provided surveillance equipment that is used by Israeli forces in the occupied Palestinian territory, including but not limited to fingerprint scanners”
- Microsoft: “providing cloud services to the Israeli military and security bodies in Israel”
- Hewlett Packard (HP): “supply IT equipment to Israel”, “HP’s clients in Israel include the state’s police and prison services”
- IBM: “Operates the central database and computer system of Israel’s population, immigration and Borders Authority”
- Sony: “use of CCTV cameras in the Old City of Jerusalem, deployed as part of Israel’s surveillance system in the occupied area. At least six Sony cameras were installed on two towers in Bab Al Amoud (Damascus Gate).
- Hyundai: “Hyundai heavy machinery was documented in dozens of home demolitions”
- General Motors: their “vans are used as baggage scanner vehicles at several Israeli military checkpoints in the occupied West Bank”
- Ford Motor: “Ford vehicles are used by the ‘Caracal’ military unit of the Israeli army”
- Paypal: “Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank and Gaza are unable to use PayPal services” (as are 28 other countries)
- Lululemon: has stores in Israel
- Walmart: “pledged $1M to Israeli aid agencies after October 7”
- L’Oreal: “operates a factory in the illegal settlement Migdal Ha’emek” (not illegal, it is within Israel’s green line borders)
- McDonalds: After the Oct 7th attack, Locally owned McDonalds branches supported Israeli soldiers by providing them with free meals and discounts.
Keep in mind that Israel receives hostility from a range of countries, and has a right to self-defence and to invest in its military. There are about 100,000 Hezbollah fighters on Israel’s northern border who are currently fighting Israel, about 200,000 Houthi fighters in Yemen, whose slogan is “God Is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, A Curse Upon the Jews, Victory to Islam”, and Iran who financially supports both Hezbollah and Houthis and has threatened Israel with nuclear weapons. Hamas is not the only entity that the IDF is meant for.
Furthermore, the criteria used to identify the companies seems to be very arbitrary. If having stores in Israel is within the criteria, why stop at Lululemon? Why not Adidas, Dior, Prada, Burger King, KFC, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc, all brands that have stores in Israel.
Furthermore, boycotts should be serving an end-goal, and that end-goal should be clear. E.g. once Airbnb stops listing Israeli settlements in the West Bank as rentals, the goal of the boycott would have been achieved, and Airbnb should come off the boycott list. But what is the end-goal of boycotting e.g. McDonalds? To go back in time and change their decisions? Since the boycotts started, McDonalds has bought all 225 of Israeli franchise restaurants, I assume so that they have more control over their public imagine in Israel. What does it take for McDonalds to get off the boycott list? If the companies will never make it off the boycott list, what motivation would they have to change their policies?
I think there should be clear and specific criteria for what companies should be divested from. Not “any company that has anything to do with Israel”. In my opinion, that criteria should be:
- Companies primarily focused on manufacturing weapons of destruction (and not their third-party providers), not because they sell to Israel, but because UBC is an academic institution and academic institutions should not be invested in weapon manufacturers (e.g. Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman).
- Companies listed on UN OHCHR’s List of companies operating in West Bank settlements, main ones being Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia Group, TripAdvisor, and Motorola Solutions.
One thing UBC could potentially do, is to short sell (bet against the stock, i.e. you make money if the stock goes down) the identified companies that they have in their portfolio. That way, they wouldn’t make money if the stock goes up or down. E.g. $800k of their pooled fund invested in Lockheed Martin’s stock going up, and an additional $800k invested in Lockheed Martin's stock going down. That would be $1.6 million of funds wasted, but may be more reasonable than divesting from the entire pooled fund.
I think the SMART goals are the perfect tool here. Your goals should be
- Specific and Measurable: let UBC know your criteria for divestment, and which exact companies you think pass those criteria. Don’t just say 5.2%.
- Attainable: Demand something feasible, with a reasonable timeline. Don’t just say “divest from any company that has anything to do with Israel, right now”.
- Relevant: Explain to UBC the purpose and end-goal of the boycott, i.e. what the company has to do to come off the boycott list.
- Timely: Discuss with UBC a timeline for gradual divestment. For example, the timeline for divesting from fossil fuels is by 2030. They can’t just “divest right now.” There is no big red button sitting on Prez. Bacon’s desk, with “Divest” written on it.
In January, UBC Okanagan’s Senate issued a resolution, condemning “the perpetration of genocide, and the violation of international laws pertaining to human rights; in this case the occupation, siege, and invasion of Gaza by the state of Israel.” I believe that UBC Okanagan’s Senate was in no position to condemn Israel for the crime of genocide. They base their condemnation on ICJ’s ruling “on 26 January 2024 that the case made by the state of South Africa that Israeli military actions in Gaza plausibly constitute genocide.” That is a misunderstanding/misrepresentation of ICJ’s ruling. The ICJ’s ruling states that the case was “plausible”, and that it would hold a full hearing. Plausibility is not that high a standard of justification to meet. It was about whether or not the court would simply dismiss the case, or they would choose to proceed with it. To Quote Judge Nolte’s (one of the judges on the case) declaration on the case:
“The Court is not asked, in the present phase of the proceedings, to determine whether South Africa’s allegations of genocide are well founded. At this stage, the Court may only examine whether the circumstances of the present case, as they have been presented to the Court, justify the ordering (“indication”) of provisional measures to protect rights under the Genocide Convention which are at risk of being violated before the decision on the merits is rendered. For this examination, the Court need not address many well-known and controversial questions, such as those relating to the right to self-defence and the right of self-determination of peoples, or regarding territorial status.”

Starting from May, I have noticed the original fried chicken from KFC and Cheeseburger from McDonalds have been significantly more salty than before. That was probably the first time I ever finished an entire drink before the food because of how salty the food was.

Hours? I work 11-12 hours a day with three hour break, that effectively makes all your day a workday as in those three hours you can't do much anyway and everything is closed at that time. Without holidays.
Organization itself is awful - we are always running out of some important produce, everybody shouts at everybody, machinery like frying machines probably personally witnessed birth of KFC if not of McDonalds and arte not maintained well... there are no busboys to wash plates, cook do it in theiir unpaid time, kitchen is understaffed - now we have two cooks for a pub of 30 tables (each for 4-6 seats). We used to have three but one was fired. Yes, as for me he was high at times, and not too reliable, but still he managed to work. Now all his job is divided between two of us without any increase in monthly pay.
Owners, husband and wife, are kinda for a long in this business but they seemingly have no interest to optimize anything or to deal with problems. Dialog from yesterday:
Me: Here, come and see that frying machine becomes blocked when tries to drop french fries into the pan!
Her: No, I won't.
Me: ...
Instead, they will ask you three times in a minute when the fries are ready (despite it's they who defined that fries have to be cooked 4 mins in their machines and not a second less) and will tell you to work faster hunderd times in a night.
Of course the only air conditioning is a door (while it's 90F outside nowadays).
What hit me completely was saying of the owner's wife "All our family works here all the time, so should you" - well then give me my share in your business instead of this tiny underpaid salary, puttana.
"Screw such job" decided me - I'd rather work on olive farm or marble quarry than in the kitchen.
It's Italy, for context, not America.
I'd say that working as a landscaper in Georgia in Summer with some Mexican friends was much easier and much better paid job.
I don't understand how do you guys work in this field, but I definitely couldn't.

That things won't really change for a long time, if unlucky even centuries.
I know it's a stupid reason to be sad about, and getting mad at it is obviously not the answer.
I mean, I used to eat meat, but many times I felt conflicted about it.
Meat for people is just meat. There is no association wity any animal.
And if they say "I'll eat chicken", there's still a big disconnect, they don't really see that it was a living being just like them.
And if it's KFC or MC Donalds, there's even more of a disconnect.
It's just ignorance but when they mock you to make you feel or think you're weird or wrong that's even more messed up, even more ignorant.
Honestly the whole thing is just kinda sad and meat is kinda disgusting and even when I used to eat it I also felt conflicted about it... Blood, fat, cartilage, veins...
But people get accostumed to it and think it's normal.
But it's not "normal", just because something is tradition doesn't make it right.
Many things that are wrong in our society have become normalized and that is kinds sad... Meat eating is just the tip of the iceberg.
Kids will grow up thinking these extreme temperatures are normal... But it's not normal.
It's so awful, because the climate would have been much more balanced and enjoyable. I work outside during the summer and it's so hot I get literally burnt.
Throwing trash to the floor is another one. The planet is our home and we treat it as if it was a dumpster, and we are ruining the climate... But the "funny" thing is that we are the ones who will suffer, not a species in another planet, WE are the ones who are living here and we are making it worse for ourselves, why?
It also seems aggressiveness becomes normalized. If you are an asshole you are 'superior' or 'alpha'. No respectfulness or anything.
So many things wrong: no UBI, housing is expensive as hell; the list is very long...

I know it's a stupid reason to be sad about, and getting mad at it is obviously not the answer.
I mean, I used to eat meat, but many times I felt conflicted about it.
Meat for people is just meat. There is no association wity any animal.
And if they say "I'll eat chicken", there's still a big disconnect, they don't really see that it was a living being just like them.
And if it's KFC or MC Donalds, there's even more of a disconnect.
It's just ignorance but when they mock you to make you feel or think you're weird or wrong that's even more messed up, even more ignorant.
Honestly the whole thing is just kinda sad and meat is kinda disgusting and even when I used to eat it I also felt conflicted about it... Blood, fat, cartilage, veins...
But people get accostumed to it and think it's normal.
But it's not "normal", just because something is tradition doesn't make it right.
Many things that are wrong in our society have become normalized and that is kinds sad... Meat eating is just the tip of the iceberg.
Kids will grow up thinking these extreme temperatures are normal... But it's not normal.
It's so awful, because the climate would have been much more balanced and enjoyable. I work outside during the summer and it's so hot I get literally burnt.
Throwing trash to the floor is another one. The planet is our home and we treat it as if it was a dumpster, and we are ruining the climate... But the "funny" thing is that we are the ones who will suffer, not a species in another planet, WE are the ones who are living here and we are making it worse for ourselves, why?
It also seems aggressiveness becomes normalized. If you are an asshole you are 'superior' or 'alpha'. No respectfulness or anything.
So many things wrong: no UBI, housing is expensive as hell; the list is very long...

He’s under weight at 31lb. He just won’t eat. He’s been like this his entire life. He will eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets (no other types-tried at least 6) Pizza from most places Fruits like apples, grapes etc Candy or icecream Chips French fries if they are soft and have no “crust” Ground beef and cheese tacos (sometimes) Pasta with sauce (has to be tricolor rotini)
I’m at my wits end right now. We got kfc because we had some deal and he won’t eat the nuggets. He won’t eat tonight.
My wife and I are looking into what type of doctor to send him to.

My mother is a master manipulator and narcissist, so my husband claims, and I agree with him. This all started gradually, first, with my mom giving my three-year-old son gum. Warning labels suggest not to give it to children under five years old. I asked nicely for her to please not give him gum anymore.
Secondly, I just had my second baby and my mom took my oldest son for 4 days, he was currently potty trained by my husband and doing well without rewards for peeing but we did give a little treat for going #2. We told her to please not reward him for going potty but she could if he went #2.
Thirdly, I also asked her not to give him more than one cup of milk because he prefers milk over water. My doctor and nutritionist want him to drink more water. Lastly, she decided to teach my son about Jesus and force him to pray. We are not religious but we don't care if she wants to be. I'd rather my son choose for himself when his brain develops rather than force him like my mother did to me.
On a side note when I was giving birth and in the hospital, for four days she did spoil my son. She bought him new shoes, gave him PB&J for lunch and dinner in a row, gave him milk anytime he wanted, took him to McDonald's, gave him gum as a reward for going pee every time, and then she'd make him spit it out. She lives an hour away from where we live and she spent lots of gas driving up and down to visit us in the hospital. She also gave us money as a gift for having another baby, maybe like $50 I can't remember. She also bought us dinner twice, McDonalds while in the hospital and then KFC the first day we arrived home.
While I wholeheartedly appreciate everything she's done to help us out I feel it's still not a good excuse to cross these boundaries. I brought up issues 1-3 with her because she decided to cross all those boundaries. But I did not bring up the religious part that bothered us. It did not go well so we've taken some space from her and blocked her for 2 months since the baby was born. I can still go in and see my blocked messages and saw that she wished me a happy Mother's Day and I decided to unblock her and reach out again. Which seems like a big mistake at this point.
We had a phone call a couple of days ago which started out nice but turned ugly fast. She decided to scream and cry while on the phone with me stating that my husband and I were disrespectful and she did nothing wrong. She mentioned she would die for me and my son and that she's not a bad person. She realized the screaming and crying weren't working so when I became vulnerable and told her I was going through a rough time she decided to pretend to listen to my issues then very quickly after she asked if she was invited to my son's birthday party. I'm a people pleaser so I said yes, but I really don't want her to come.
She took everything so personally but it's nothing personal, it's about my son's well-being, and it has nothing to do with her. We're the parents and we have an obligation to our son to make sure he's well. We ended up dealing with a screaming toddler at home when he didn't get his way. He started regressing for revenge because he wasn't getting gum or any treats for going potty. I've washed his carpets once but they are ruined again he will not stop regressing and it's been two months. He did fine potty training until my mom had him. Here you will find out how to get the rewards, get to see the rosters of all 32 teams, a preview for each region, and some expert predictions from your truly who has been accurate 75% of the time so far this year. Let's save that for the rest of this post and get right on to the good stuff. The Thumbnail LUCKY! I NEED HELP GETTING THE REWARDS!Before I get into any predictions or anything, let me just share a few things on how to get those sweet rewards a bit quicker and maybe even a bit easier. I see this a lot and I figured I should make a guide on how to get them easier for anyone who might be new to the scene or anyone who might be unsure on what to do or on who to pick.-Make sure you go to the Brawl Stars Esports Website and submit your predictions when they open up for that region. They should open up just before each event starts. If for some reason you are having issues with the site (this tends to happen almost all the time), do not worry as you can still submit your predictions just before each match if you weren't able to submit them. Refreshing the page is also a nice alternative option. It sometimes works for me. -You will be able to answer quiz questions during each event as well as earn any free points by rooting for your team during the stream (or both if you didn't vote). Even if your predictions are wrong, you'll still be able to get more opportunities by voting for the MVP as well which you get a lot of votes for doing. -You currently need 3000 points in order for you to get all of the rewards currently, but don't worry if you are behind as there are plenty of opportunities to get points throughout the entire weekend and the rest of the Regular Season. The rewards you will earn will be mostly Starr Drops, but you can also get a Sands of Time Spray, a Champie Ragnarok Pin and the Egg Champie Pin which all would be a nice addition to your collection. -If you want to be a predictions master like me one day, then feel free to follow this guide so you can get those points without breaking a sweat! There will be some good matches over at the B Stream and I'm sure the casters there would appreciate you watching them as well as the teams playing on that stream too. Now that we got that out of the way, it's time for me to go over the preview and some predictions for this Monthly Final. Here we go! Asia Pacific (Saturday @ 6AM UTC)May Asia Pacific Monthly Finals RostersCrazy Raccoon Looking to Dominate Again: After failing to win it all last month against NAVI in the Grand Finals, Crazy Raccoon will be looking to continue owning the rest of APAC this weekend. With both Revenant and NAVI not playing this month, things are looking pretty good for Crazy Raccoon already. They should be able to have a pretty nice bracket all the way up to the Grand Finals going up against possibly either Angelic or Rival. If Crazy Raccoon win this Monthly Final, might as well give them a Worlds ticket already as they would be way ahead of 2nd place on the Leaderboards. Angelic & Rival Fighting for 2nd: A spot for Worlds is on the line and with both Revenant and NAVI sitting out, now is the time for either team to strike and get a bigger lead ahead of both teams. They already secure a Top 3 spot on the Leaderboards no matter what happens (unless they both choke and lose in the Quarterfinals), and they're most likely playing in the Semifinals to decide who will remain in 2nd after this weekend. Should be a close match between these two. A Crucial Match for Coco Loco & 3R Gaming: Their matchup will likely decide their fate for the rest of the season. A win from either team will keep them alive in the LCQ race while a loss will severely hurt their chances and it might be all but impossible to come back. A win for 3RG would keep their LCQ hopes alive and put them in at least 6th place, but a win for Coco Loco would be huge as they would be alive in the hunt for that final LCQ spot (and tied with NAVI for 5th). This is a MUST WATCH match that is sadly being streamed on the B Stream, but at least we'll be able to watch it. May Asia Pacific Monthly Finals Predictions Quarterfinals: Angelic should be able to get a nice sweep or at least a nice and comfortable win against S2. Why We Lose I could honestly see upset Rival or at least make it close, but in the end I think Rival is still gonna be the safer pick here. A crucial matchup for both Coco Loco and 3RG that will probably come down to the wire, but I'm taking Coco Loco. Crazy Raccoon will likely 6-0 Master Entertainer. Sucks this is the Stream A matchup and not Coco VS. 3RG. Semifinals: Angelic VS. Rival is gonna be a very close match if this ends up happening. I originally was gonna go for Angelic here, but after looking through some scrim data and thinking it through a bit, I personally would take Rival here. Crazy Raccoon should be able to beat Coco Loco and make another Grand Finals appearance, but I do see Coco Loco getting a set win against them. Grand Finals: Not the Grand Finals I would've expected to happen this year, but with no Revenant or NAVI this month it makes sense. Rival could get a slightly bigger lead ahead of Angelic with a win here. While I do think that would be cool, I just can't pick them over Crazy Raccoon. I see Raccoon winning in four sets and claiming their 2nd Monthly Finals Championship as well as being almost all but locked up for Worlds this year. EMEA (Saturday @ 11:30AM UTC)May EMEA Monthly Finals RostersA Heated Battle Between SK & ZETA: The fact that these two teams are playing each other in the Quarterfinals is just a crime (can I make the brackets for next month). Two of the best teams in the entire region (and possibly the world) will be fighting to possibly get a nice lead in the race for one of those three Worlds spots. They both have won a Monthly Final with SK winning in March and ZETA winning in April. A win from either team would be huge and while a loss wouldn't hurt them severely, it could possibly give an opportunity for either Oceanus or Totem to steal it in the next two months. Make sure you tune in to this match when the EMEA Monthly Finals start. Grab some popcorn while you're at it as well because this is gonna be a good show (unlike SK VS. Totem in the last two Monthly Finals). HMBLE's Time to Strike: After failing to win to win a Grand Finals match in the last two Monthly Finals, HMBLE are looking to get another chance at getting a Grand Finals appearance and finally win HMBLE their first ever Monthly Final Championship. Their road to finally win it all this month will certainly not be easy as they will have to play Oceanus who has been looking solid so far this year, likely going up against Totem in the Semis assuming they beat Ladder, and then likely playing either ZETA or SK in the Grand Finals. While I do think they are capable of finally winning it all, it will be quite the gauntlet they will have to go through (the worst part is that their match against Oceanus is B Stream which sucks). Some Newcomers in EMEA: No BC and no FUT (again) means we have two new teams to introduce (would've been three if Reverso EU didn't get DQ'd). Jordan consists of a decent group in former VNeS player Buzko, Gas and substitute Blaksxy (Decaii will not play). Ladder meanwhile consists of a decent group of players as well in Kapi, Sniper and Suffo. Ladder has a tough matchup against Totem, but Jordan does get Eclipsar as their Quarterfinals opponent who could make things close. Will these teams be able to pull off an upset? May EMEA Monthly Finals Predictions Quarterfinals: I definitely think Jordan is capable of winning a set against Eclipsar, but I don't know about winning the match so I'd say take Eclipsar here. I wouldn't be mad if you took either team in ZETA VS. SK, but I believe SK will win in the MUST WATCH match. Oceanus VS. HMBLE should also be pretty close, but I'm leaning towards HMBLE here (why is this on Stream B). Totem meanwhile will be getting their first Monthly Final win of the year against Ladder. Should be a sweep too. Semifinals: No matter who wins the ZETA VS. SK matchup, I would take the winner of this matchup over Eclipsar any day. At least Eclipsar will get a bigger lead for that final LCQ spot. In the battle of the Italian orgs between HMBLE VS. Totem, I like HMBLE a bit more and I expect them to make their third straight Grand Finals appearance. Grand Finals: The rematch between SK VS. HMBLE is gonna be a fire matchup if it happens. HMBLE is looking to get their first ever Monthly Finals Championship here and make things in the Top 3 race a bit more interesting. While I do think this will be a close match, I think SK will come out on top in the end and claim their second Monthly Finals Championship and HMBLE will fall short once again. I do love HMBLE, but I'm going with what my model says. South America (Sunday @ 3PM UTC)May South America Monthly Finals RostersCan Spacestation Three-peat?: After winning two straight Monthly Finals, the newly signed Spacestation Gaming roster is looking to win a third straight to put themselves closer to claiming the only Worlds spot in South America. Spacestation has gone undefeated so far and they are looking to keep this undefeated streak alive heading into Sunday. With their first two matches likely going up against teams from the West in Olimpo & Queso, Spacestation will have to give it their all in the Grand Finals match which could possibly be a rematch against the MiniPekkas. Will Spacestation three-peat, or will someone finally take them down? MiniPekkas Seeking for Revenge: The MiniPekkas failed to beat Calabresos (now known as Spacestation) last month and are now looking to get back in the race for that only Worlds spot. They won't face Spacestation until at least the Grand Finals, but they will need to go through some pretty challenging teams in UDP and either RDP or Marruecos who I could honestly see thrive this month. A Monthly Final Championship would mean they would likely play in the postseason and stay alive in the Worlds race, but if Spacestation three-peats, they might have to set their sights on claiming an LCQ spot since that race could be tight as well. Although with SKC not playing this month, their odds of claiming at least an LCQ spot are looking better. We'll see if they can take advantage of SKC failing to qualify this month. Do or Die for RDP & Marruecos: This Quarterfinals match between RDP & Marruecos is gonna be crucial for both teams. For Marruecos, a win would put them ahead of SKC and in 4th in the Leaderboards, but a loss would hurt them a bit and they would need to win at least one match in the next two months if they want a shot at the LCQ. For RDP however, a win would make it a tight race for 4th, but since there are only three playoff spots this year for South America, they would have to hope Queso chokes at some point and dominate the rest of the season as I don't see them beating MiniPekkas (it would be huge if they did though). A loss however for RDP could mean their run might end as they would be too far behind from Queso and they would need a miracle run with some good luck on their side in order to qualify. Be sure to watch this over on the B Stream. May South America Monthly Finals Predictions Quarterfinals: Queso should be able to get a nice sweep against Balinhas and make it to their third straight Semfinals. The newly acquired Spacestation roster should be able to sweep Olimpo easily and remain undefeated. The MiniPekkas should be able to take care of UDP in a four set victory. RDP VS. Marruecos is my only five set Quarterfinals Match and I think Marruecos finally gets their first Monthly Final win of the year. Semifinals: Spacestation VS. Queso Round 3 is what I'm expecting to happen here. And of course I'm expecting the same result as the last two times with Spacestation winning in four sets. Marruecos could make things interesting against the MiniPekkas, but I still see the Brazilian team winning this match and getting another shot at taking down Spacestation. Grand Finals: The rematch between Spacestation VS. MiniPekkas should be very fun to watch (assuming it happens of course). I was actually thinking about taking the MiniPekkas here, but I think Spacestation will pull through and remain undefeated as well as win their third straight Monthly Final. If Spacestation wins it all again, might as well give them their ticket to Worlds early as I don't see how anybody in South America could stop them. North America (Sunday @ 8:30PM UTC)May North America Monthly Finals RostersSTMN VS. the Bracket of Death: I swear the admins just hate STMN this year because they have to go through a deadly bracket this month. Not only that, but they need to win their match against Tribe BADLY. Then they would likely play against Luminosity who did own them 4 times last year (and once in the March Monthly Qualifiers), and they will likely have another tough team to face in Grands. I think with how chaotic this year has been in NA a win against Tribe would be huge and they would still be alive in the LCQ hunt if they only beat Tribe. A loss wouldn't hurt their LCQ chances that much unless West Coast and/or Motomamis win, but with only 2 months to go after this season, they will need to lock in the rest of the season if a loss does happen. Juan Carlos Team Looking to Defend their Title: After a surprising Monthly Finals Championship win last month, the newly signed Juan Carlos Team are looking to win another and make their new org proud (whoever that might be). JCT does have a pretty interesting matchup against a Motomamis team who will be dealing with high ping this month and their Semifinal match will consist of either CT or Homeless. They luckily don't have to go through the deadly bracket and they won't be facing any of the partnered orgs until the Grand Finals. Things are looking good for JCT this month so far, but from what we've seen from this region, anything can happen. Luminosity Looking to Bounce Back: After failing to qualify last month due to Patchy having a family emergency, Luminosity is back and ready to get back in the LCQ & Worlds race. They will get to rematch against West Coast whom they beat in March and after that should be where things get challenging. They will have to go up against either Tribe or STMN in the Semifinals which should definitely be tricky no matter who ends up winning that match. Going on a decent run will put them back in at least the LCQ race, but a deep run would be huge and get them back on track and stay alive in the Worlds race. May North America Monthly Finals Predictions Quarterfinals: Juan Carlos Team is definitely gonna be the favorite to win this match against Motomamis. MTM having that ping disadvantage is gonna hurt them a bit which is why I'm taking JCT here. CT VS. Homeless should be close, but I'm gonna trust Homeless to pull through here. Luminosity should be able to get the win against West Coast. STMN VS. Tribe is gonna be close and while I do love STMN, I think Tribe will barely win here. I could totally see either team win here though. Semifinals: Juan Carlos Team should be able to get a nice win against Homeless. I see a sweep happening here and a second straight Grand Finals appearance for this group. The March Grand Finals rematch (if it happens) might not be super close in my honest opinion. I think winner of Tribe VS. STMN probably beats Luminosity and here I picked Tribe to beat STMN so I'm taking Tribe over Luminosity to send them to their second Grand Finals of the year. Grand Finals: This is the only matchup I would honestly consider being a coin flip. Juan Carlos Team VS. Tribe Gaming is definitely gonna be a fun match to watch (I think Juan Carlos Team VS. any of the partnered orgs is gonna be fun). I'm gonna go bold here however and pick the team that spams protestos and ZETA sprays and give them their second straight Monthly Finals Championship win. Map PoolBelow you will find the Map Order for every match that will happen throughout the Monthly Finals. Hi, I’m a 21F who some might call a “baby gay.” I only began to identify as a lesbian about a year ago and, since then, I’ve had to grapple with a lot of misconceptions and myths I’ve held about the LGBTQ+ community for a long time. There are many examples of this I could mention, but the one which is the subject of this post is most recent (and most embarrassing for me, personally). In the minds of many, it might seem like such a “big deal”, but for me, this holds major implications. I’m speaking, in this case, about the appropriation of drag culture in which I have unknowingly taken part. What do I mean, exactly?
It’s pretty simple stuff, actually. Saying things like “spilling the T” or “throwing shade” or even “yas queen.” I know it may sound ridiculous at first, but I was actually devastated to learn that these slang terms were derived from drag culture, most notably RuPaul’s Drag Race. It wasn’t due to any prejudice I held toward drag queens, mind you. Rather, I was heartbroken to learn that I was completely clueless about the appropriating of a culture in which I was partaking.
In this context, I’m using “cultural appropriation” to mean engaging in the culture of another (integrating it into the mainstream) without giving credit to said culture of origin. In simpler terms, people take things they like about one culture, while totally dismissing or even acting hostile toward the people who created it. It’s almost as if a dominant culture claims ownership over it, presenting it as their own idea without giving due credit — like plagiarism. This feels even worse if the cultural group in question is marginalized. It’s like they want to “appreciate” what they have to offer while giving little care to the very real sociopolitical issues they may face.
If it wasn’t already clear, I’m no stranger to cultural appropriation. In fact, as a Black-American living in the US, I might as well be the poster child. The black community has had a long history of the white-dominant culture taking things from their culture, and completely removing their credit. I mean, just look at the face of American fried chicken, Colonial Sanders. KFC is such a universally beloved fast food restaurant, that it might as well be the representative of the dish itself. However, it is commonly known that black Americans created fried chicken. Enslaved Africans, descendants from the Atlantic slave trade, would prepare fried chicken as a way of rejuvenating parts of a chicken that their slave masters didn’t want. However, Colonial Sanders bares an unfortunate resemblance a wealthy Southerner that would exploit slave labor on their plantation. You can imagine that as a Black-American that is often undermined as a part of American culture, that stings. The last thing I would ever want was for someone to feel that sting. I mean, I could go on and on… (there are countless examples, like Elvis Presley and the inspiration rock-and-roll took from Black-Americans), but I’d be here all day.
To make a long story short, most of the shock I feel comes from the widespread usage of drag terms (“slay queen”, “Bye, Felicia”, etc.), without almost any mention of RuPaul, drag performance, or the LGBTQ+ community in any capacity. I could just be another blind cisperson out of the loop, but does anyone else feel the same?
It’s just so heartbreaking to me to see drag culture penetrate the mainstream in such an impactful way, and yet drag performers in general (especially considering the vast effort of American lawmakers to ban it) seem to be obviated from it entirely. - Rampart and job-specific 30% damage reduction abilities will be upgraded in the 90s level range
- Reprisal’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- The second and third executions of Atonement have been changed to new actions with separate animations (the Atonement button will change to these actions automatically, so button presses will remain the same)
- A new action that can be executed after Blade of Valor will be added
- In order to execute Goring Blade, you will need to have Fight or Flight activated
- A new action, which can be executed after three executions of Fell Cleave or Decimate while Inner Release is active, will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Primal Rend will be added
- Visual effects and animation of Inner Chaos will be adjusted
- To reduce the number of inputs during burst damage phases, Blood Weapon will upgrade into Delirium, and the effects of Blood Weapon will be added to Deliirium
- A new action that can be executed after Living Shadow will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Fated Circle (via Continuation) will be added
- A new 3-step combo that can be executed after Bloodfest will be added (no cartridge cost)
- Second Wind’s potency will be increased in the 90s level range
- Feint’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- Basic combo mechanics will no longer center around maintaining a buff or DoT; instead, performing actions in a certain order will increase the next action’s potency. Adjustments will be
- Can accumulate up to a total of ten chakra while Brotherhood is active, to prevent chakra overflow
- There will be a potency buff to Six-Sided Star if executed while you have ten chakra stacks
- To reduce positional requirements for the single-target combo, the 5th combo action has been changed to a new non-directional action, Drakesbane (Fang and Claw/Wheeling Thrust will change to Drakesbane, so input execution will remain the same
- To facilitate maximum damage output at the beginning of a battle, Life of the Dragon will be available without accumulating Dragon Gauge
- To reduce the number of inputs during burst damage phases, certain actions will be removed or adjusted
- Huton’s effect has been moved to a trait and will always be active (Huton will be changed to an AoE attack which grants the effect of Hidden)
- Actions which extend the duration of Huton’s effect will be adjusted in accordance with the above change
- Due to these adjustments, the Windmill logo in the job gauge will be removed
- To simplify recast management, Tsubame-gaeshi will be changed to be executable after Meikyo Shisui
- Hakaze, Tenka Goten, and Midare Setsugekka will be upgraded into new actions
- Traits will be added that shorten the recast time for Hissastsu: Guren and Hissastsu: Senei
- Plentiful Harvest’s effect will no longer increase the Shroud Gauge by 50, and instead will allow execution of Enshroud (now can be used when gauge is at 51 or more without waste)
- A new action that can be executed while Enshrouded will be added
- Hells’ Ingress and Hell’s Egress will have reduced cool down when Enhanced Harpe is activated
- Link to Viper job overview and gameplay demonstration in the livestream
- A fast-paced job that fluidly shifts between dual-wield blades and double-bladed strikes
- Has a similar total number of actions as other jobs, but is designed so that fewer actions need to be set on the hotbar
- Executing actions will build a job gauge, which can then be expended in an enhanced “Awaken” phase
- When applying buffs to yourself as well as debuffs to the enemy, certain other actions will be enhanced depending on which buffs/debuffs are active
- In addition to close-range melee attacks, there are also some long-range attacks available should you need to fight from afar
- Second Wind’s healing potency will be increased in the 90s level range
- Damage reduction of job-0specific defensive abilities will be increased to 15% in the 90s level range
- Mage’s Ballad, Army’s Paeon, and the Wanderer’s Minuet will be changed into buffing actions which do not attack enemies
- Pitch Perfect will be changed into an AoE attack for ease of use in encounters with multiple enemies
- Single-target and AoE procs (Straight Shot Ready/Shadow Bite Ready) will be merged into one proc for better ease of use
- Barrel Stabilizer will no longer increase Heat Gauger by 50, and instead will allow execution of Hypercharge (can now be used when gauge is at 51 without waste)
- A new trait which accumulates charges for Drill will be added
- A new action that can be executed after Flourish will be added
- A new action which consumes Esprit and can be executed after Technical Finish will be added
- Certain skills currently triggered by Standard Step may now be executed without having to go through the step actions
- Swiftcast’s recast will be reduced to 40 seconds in the 90s level range
- Addle’s duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range
- Various adjustments will be made to streamline certain aspects of the job, such as restoring MP upon landing ice spells while Umbral Ice is active, instead of passively over time
- A new action which repositions Ley Lines beneath the caster once will be added
- Solar Bahamut, a new summon akin to Bahamut and Phoenix, will be added (new summon rotation will be: Solar Bahamut - Bahamut - Solar Bahamut - Phoenix)
- A new attack action that can be executed after Searing Light will be added
- Summoner will keep Resurrection for Dawntrail, but may have it removed in 8.0
- Manafication will no longer increase Black Mana and White Mana by 50, and will instead allow the execution of enchanted swordplay actions without cost (can now be executed while mana is at 51 or more without waste)
- The AoE enchanted swordplay combo beginning with Enchanted Moulinet will now consume a total of 50 Black Mana and White Mana, similar to its single-target counterpart
- Whenever Embolden is executed, an attack ability will be enabled

- Job actions centered around Aether Hue elemental attacks (Red = Flare, Green = Aero, Blue = Water) and Motifs (Creature, Weapon, and Landscape)
- Aether Hue attacks build a gauge that can be expended on White elemental Holy attacks as well as Subtractive Pallette, which upgrades your other elemental attacks to higher-potency elements.
- Creature Motif involves rendering parts of a creature (eg. a Moogle) via attacks that will eventually summon the creature for a higher-powered attack
- Weapon Motif is a fast triple-cast combo
- Landscape Motif is a longer-cast action that deals damage to enemy and grants buffs to self and party members
- Swiftcast’s recast time will be reduced top 40 seconds in the 90s level range
- A new action allowing the caster to quickly move forward will be added
- A new AoE attack, which can be executed up to 3 times after Presence of Mind, will be added
- New trait that increases Tetragrammaton stack number will be added
- Seraphism, a new action which changes the caster’s appearance and enhances healing magicks, will be added
- A new AoE attack that can be executed after Chain Stratagem will be added; it will include a DoT
- A new trait that reduces recast time for Recitation will be added
- The card system will no longer be RNG based, and will instead simultaneously draw cards with offensive, defensive, and curative effects
- Every 60 seconds, you can draw one set of four cards (divided under Lord of Crowns or Lady of Crowns), each card having different effects, and you can use the cards in that set depending on your situational needs
- Astrodyne will be removed with the discontinuation of astrosigns
- New trait that increases Essential Dignity stack number will be added
- Eukrasia will now enhance Dyskrasia II into Eukrasian Dyskrasia, an AoE attack which deals damage over time to enemies within range
- A new party buff, which heals party members whenever the caster casts a spell, will be added (basically a ranged version of Kardion, but will only be in effect for a limited amount of time)
- New trait that reduces the recast time of Soteria will be added
- Viper and Pictomancer will be added to PvP in 7.0
- New PvP actions, action adjustments, and adjustments to existing PvP maps are currently planned for 7.1
- Crystalline Conflict ranked matches will;; be in preseason between 7.0 and 7.1 (rankings will not be updated, but tiers and Crystal Credit will be affected by wins and losses
- Two new NPCs that will appear in the Dawntrail MSQ were discussed: Bakool Ja Ja and Koana, who will both be competing for the throne of Tural. Bakool Ja Ja is a two-headed Mamool Ja, similar to Gulool Ja Ja, and Koana is the male Miqo’te from the Dawntrail poster.
Other Information - Benchmark software/graphics update: Some adjustments have been made based on feedback on the original benchmark. These include adjustments to lighting in the character creator, as well as corrections to graphical oddities in character models (addressing things like Keeper of the Moon Miqo’te teeth and Lalafell mouths/teeth). These adjustments will be incorporated into a new benchmark available for download, in addition to the game itself with Dawntrail. Information about a release date for the new benchmark will be announced later.
- Free Fantasia: Starting in 7.0, there will be a new NPC in Ul’dah with a low level quest that can be completed for one free Fantasia per character.
- In addition, using a Fantasia will now grant a 60 minute period during which you can make additional adjustments to your character after re-entering the game world if you are not satisfied with how the adjustments look in game. There is no limit to how many additional times you can tweak your character within this 60 minute period.
- Fall Guys collaboration event returns from May 23rd to June 10th
- Mountain Dew promotional event (US only): enter codes found under caps of specially marked Man. Dew products to receive points that can be redeemed for rewards, including in-game rewards such as a “Mountain Zu” mount and a consumable drink item.
