I just hosted my first murder mystery party!

I’m building an AI to create and host a murder mystery party. I’ve posted about my experience building it here a few times before. I had my first playtest of an entirely AI-generated murder mystery.
However, the information below is useful for anyone hosting a murder mystery.
tl;dr: It went pretty well, given that it was 100% generated by AI, but there is still much room for improvement.
How I did it:
  1. I picked a theme: “Fancy Dress, Marina, Portage Bay, Rainy Day, Roaring 1920s”
  2. I invited people.
  3. 2 hours before the event, I generated characters and a mystery for the group with just the theme.
  4. I manually texted everyone their character description with relationships.
  5. After introductions and a little mingling, I text everyone their role: victim, murder, and suspect.
  6. I also texted the suspect’s clues and objectives.
  7. Then, one person was seen how the murder was discovered.
  8. The victim became the detective.
  9. The mystery ended when the detective made the final accusation after everyone else’s choice.
What went well:
  1. Three people couldn’t come at the last minute, so I generated a murder mystery for the group hours before the event.
  2. It took ~5 minutes to generate the murder mystery in a single shot.
  3. The clues did help prompt them to solve the mystery.
  4. It wasn't obvious who caused the murder. This was my biggest concern. They didn't identify the murderer, but they did identify the murder method.
What didn’t go well:
  1. It generates cool fake names, but sometimes, they are hard to remember. People wanted the option to keep real names to make it easier to remember. Name tags would have helped, too.
  2. Sometimes, details, including the clues, were too ambiguous. I think this partially prevented them from identifying the murderer.
  3. The motive is the most egregious in terms of being ambiguous. Was the final motive for the murder: “This secret, related to his dishonorable discharge under the guise of heroism, if revealed by Vivienne amidst her ambition to prove herself in her father's business, would not only ruin Charles but also disgrace him beyond recovery.”
  4. The motive they came up with was more interesting than the one generated by the AI.
  5. The event could have had more instructions about the phases and what to expect. Some of the clues about the characters were surprising. It could have been a feature had it been explained that they might need to improvise.
  6. I didn’t give the detective or the murderer any more information. The murderer didn’t even know why they killed the victim. Giving them the method and motive would have given them information that helped them evade detection.
  7. It was good to show the murderers how they covered their tracks and include those as red herrings in people’s clue sets.
  8. It was weird to have someone other than the victim explain the murder.
  9. The murder also happened after the event, causing a confusing discontinuity.
  10. Overall, there could have just been more instructions on how to announce the murder: turn off the lights, scream, etc.
  11. Dripping the clues throughout the event to keep the mystery progressing.
  12. They liked the idea of objectives for characters who might interfere with solving the murder, but the actual objectives were too vague.
Useful Feedback:
  1. They liked the idea of letting the guests customize their character, even getting the opportunity to set their involvement.
  2. Another idea was to make sure it generated a reason for everyone at the party to murder the victim, to make the red herrings better.
I’m going to continue to focus on improving the generator. If you want to get involved, let me know. I’m seeking a game/prompt designer to help me improve the generations.
While I’m building, it’s free to use and generate murder mysteries. I think it generates, on average, a C+ murder mystery, but with some human intervention, it could be turned into an A+ murder mystery. All I ask is that you let me know how you improved it ;)

I don't know if this is allowed but I just want to tell someone so I can take it out of my chest and feel less miserable. Also I used a translator and some terms might appear weird I'm sorry for that.

Back then in elementary school. Be quite "smart" , always have perfect notes because I am very good at memorizing and I obsess.
Be good at everything, but mediocre at mathematics.
Being very good at literature because I really enjoyed reading.
Advancing.
The kids start being more conscious and from the third grade they begin to notice that I am different from them, logically they couldn't say what, but the children know. Slowly becoming more isolated.
Being labeled as the insufferable nerd. I become introverted, as I don't seem to understand the dynamics of being friends.
Why do I feel different?
Anyway I still have good grades in general, I'm a happy girl a bit nerdy. Parents don't worry.
Screw up big time every time I try to socialize, stop trying.

I like to read, enjoy it a lot and it helps me cope with the lack of social contact.
Advancing, seventh grade. I'm still very "intelligent", but socially I'm behind.
Be the student that no one recognizes. Social anxiety evolves to such a high level that it is a spectacle for the class every time it is time to give a school presentation. Secondary school math is not that difficult, but it is an unpleasant challenge.
Move to another school in High school.
Social anxiety evolves to an extreme level. I had never been able to make eye contact, hold a gaze, or make small talk without it being extremely awkward.
Being the center of attention again every time I have to do a school presentation, feeling physically sick and on the verge of panic when I have to.
Mathematics and slightly convoluted logical subjects like chemistry are hell.
Too many steps to understand, too many conditions, too many variables. Doing exercises with several mixed themes is hella difficult and frustrating to the point of crying.
Fail Mathematics and Computation science for those reasons, but manage to recover.
On the other hand, be really good at literature, and other subjects read, as foreign languages.
What happened to the primary school prodigy?
2020, due to the pandemic there are only online classes. I finish high school with luck and some cheating.
Liking the confinement a lot, I don't have to do any social contact.
2021, first year of university in a health-related career.
17 year old OP is totally useless socially.
Incredibly, I'm not doing too badly academically.
Mathematics and Chemistry are a pain in the ass and I fail a couple of times.
"Wasn't autism supposed to make me smart?" I have been scammed.
Oral presentations make me panic so much that I show symptoms even days before the event. I frequently vomit.
Have a prescription for anxiolytics to be able to attend classes like a normal fucking person.
Has not made friends in the period of two years due to social ineptitude. Didn't wanted to, either.
Decides not to finish the degree in its entirety (5 years) and to keep only the technical degree that is obtained after two years.
Sabbatical year.
Parents want me to have a future so they tell me that I have to start another career or continue the one I left discontinued.
Last one wasn't going great and I decide to change.
Mental health has not been good since 2020, doing the barely necessary for everything and constantly having dark thoughts. Being in a state of functional depression.
Discover IT. The career is good, hearing that you can work remotely and earn a lot of money. GREAT. Maybe that's the career for me. Maybe I can make money on this. Maybe, just maybe... Fool me.
It is required to take a pre-entry course to enter.

Mathematics and algorithms screw me brutally.
Mathematics is too much. Why do so many threads have to be done in a simple mathematical operation? Too many variables, too many possibilities. I don't have a good memory, I get distracted easily. A mathematical operation that the average person can solve in 10 minutes looks to me like a thousand-piece puzzle. And the puzzle image is an abstract painting, to make it worse.
Public education sucks, so I decided to study on my own too.
A topic that the other students took a class to understand, I managed to understand it 3 classes later, learning on my own with YouTube tutorials.
Anything that has to do with programming logic and mathematics frustrates me to the point of tears.
Feeling absolutely stupid.
Being autistic me, with social anxiety, being socially inept academically a disaster and with possible dysthymia
I just don't know what to do. I don't want to depend on my parents all my life, I don't want to be seen as stupid or useless. I have thought that it is not mandatory in life to have a university degree. I am not able to sit in a chair and pay attention for hours and hours without getting distracted. Explanations go in and out from one ear to the other. When I look at the notebook it's like I'm reading in a language I don't understand. My brain just refuses to understand. I'm afraid of being a disappointment to my parents who simply want me to have an education. Why am I not still the same "prodigy child" I used to be? I can't do this anymore. I just want to live without the uncertainty of knowing how I am going to support myself financially in the future. I had a job on sabbatical and it drained me horribly. The only thing I did during that period was live to work. Eating, sleeping... everything revolved around work. I worked half of my day and slept the rest of the time due to the physical and mental exhaustion that it caused me. (I worked in sales) Coming home after and sleeping to repeat the same process the next day except on weekends. I feel absolutely miserable and very stupid. I just think that if I'm left to live alone on my own, I wouldn't survive long. I'm like the weakest link and I don't even know if it's worth staying alive if all I do is bedrotting and draining my parents' pockets to cover my needs.
Am I the only person who feels this way? I really want with all my soul to be a useful and self-sufficient person but my person simply does not collaborate with me. What will happen when my parents are no longer with me? I'm so scared for the future. And I'm sorry is this just looks like self pity.

2024.05.20 02:20 BlueButterflies139 2 months post 3rd implant replacement update

I was pretty stable and normal till 3 weeks ago, when I started my 1st period on my new implant. This is very similar to my experience with my 1st implant.
The last 3 weeks have sucked. 1st week was minimal blood, 2-3 days of spotting; but I had horrible cramps and was generally hormonal/emotional.
Week 2 was just blood, a lot of cramping, and sobbing everytime I heard the winx club theme song (which kept happening, that was kinda weird). I used a lot of CBD to help with the pain.
Week 3 is my current state. Stopped bleeding for 3 days, thought I got lucky and it ended early. I was wrong. I went clubbing yesterday and I felt some cramping last night, but I assumed it was from chugging beer and then dancing. Today I am bloody, bloated, cramping, and have started crying 4 seperate times in the last 6ish hours.
This is still better than my usual PCOS periods and I have no regrets. I know I will be back to normal within a month, as my other implants had more or less the same 3 months of insanity post implantation. Can't wait for this to pass so I can go back to my schedule of seasonal periods and minimal bleeding.

First time in Japan, would greatly appreciate some feedback. Family of 4 with 10, 13 year olds. This was made with a lot of reading here, YouTube, and chatgpt attempts at optimization. The rough breakdown is 3.5 days Tokyo, 3 days Kyoto, 2.5 days Osaka.
We added Disney Sea last, slated for June 11. This sort of threw a wrench into the plans for Tokyo, as we now feel even more rushed. I feel like the kids would appreciate one day at a unique theme park. So instead of leaving for Kyoto early on 12th, we would spend the morning in Tokyo, then leave for Kyoto around 2-3pm, then hitting dinner near Gion.
Hotels and flights are booked, so is TeamLabs. Other contents can be moved around. I know this looks rushed, we will dial it down as needed once we get there. I will probably make a separate "checklist" so we can focus on getting the best stuff done and leave some room to explore.

Im not letting Enigmata's Minions decieve sundaymains like the rest of the community, this missinformation already spreaded like fire. I see a lot of people talking like they have wings on their waist, and we even have some BANGER fanarts of Sunday with dark wings with i do love to see, but i think is important to say those are headcannons, and in cannon, the siblins only have IN MODEL, one pair of wings, the head ones.
For me it was always obvious but if you want me to convince you:

1. DESIGNS

Just look at their designs, that is not how real wings look or move.

You can even see were the top part of the \"wings\" are fixed onto the dress, like a real costume a idol whose theme are birds would wear, nice detail by mihoyo.

Even on his concept art he always had a shirt in this place, they just replaced for a more interesting design, having wings-shaped shirt to make alusion to birds and angels.

The halovians dont have other wings besides the face ones, look at their mother, on robin's trailer if she had wings, the studio would 100% use the wings to hug her children like real birds to make it even sadder.
Theres nothing on her lower back, she is using a very thin fabric, unless its going under the skin, but lets be reseanoble please.

Theres no reason to hide the wings ALL the time on their animations. Its always nothing there, even when they use simple, one layer clothes.

Even when she is basically shirtless, theres no wing in sight, if there was a wing, they would use all theses oportunities to SHOW them, not always hide.
BUT HOPE IS NOT LOST, this doesnt mean they cant SUMMON wings, robin does this on her skill and on her trailer. She can summon from thin air, i dont know if is wings made of harmonic energy or real wings they summon with magic, who cares? halovian magic idc.
The dream of Sunday ultimate Seraphim style with 6 pairs of wings is NOT dead.
TLDR: What is important is just to understand that theses on their clothes are not real wings.

This is a place for Reddit users to submit their scores for the official Daily Challenge (hopefully) without the results being tarnished by cheaters. This should be played as a [2] -- zooming/rotating, moving allowed but external assistance is prohibited. Feel free to leave any walkthroughs in your comments, concealed with a spoiler tag.
A bot will keep a leaderboard for the month. You'll notice two columns related to your scoring performance. The first of these columns is labeled Average and represents your average score among all games throughout the month. The second column is labeled Score and represents either: 1. The average of your top 15 performances, or 2. Your average score divided by 15 (if you have played less than 15 games). The leaderboard is sorted by Score. At the end of the month, the highest Score will be declared the winner, and the leaderboard will reset for the next month.
Why do we keep score this way? There were 3 potential options for scorekeeping:
  1. Straight Average -- flawed because a player who only plays once but scores 25000 would likely win for the month.
  2. Cumulative Total -- flawed because it unfairly favors those who are able to play every and is a severe disadvantage to those who miss even a single day.
  3. Score of top 15 -- the method currently in use, it allows for some leeway for those not able to play daily, but at the same time, it's beneficial to those who are able to play more than 15 times. After 15 plays, each new score will bump out the previous lowest score.
The Daily Challenge resets at midnight UTC, which coincides with the time that this post will go live each day. So essentially, make sure that you're commenting your score with its corresponding post.

2024.05.20 01:57 Low-Tell-5950 Lambda based formula gives volatile circular dependency error when running on real data while runs absolutely fine on a test sheet.

Hi, folks.
Help me to pinpoint the source of problem. The formula gives me a circular dependency error exactly every second regeneration of the sheet (I tried redo and clear cells actions)
In this test data sheet the formula runs fine. But on the real data sheet it behaves as described above (moreover it's strange that the date col taken from " txBybitF " is not processed as can be seen in " Result!G21:G27 ")
This problem came out after adding a feature to convert the date (code line 41-62, as shown below).
Shortly my setup includes:
  1. Several source ranges (usually across multiple sheets or also within one sheet in a test data sheet)
  2. A configuration range
  3. A formula that fetches across the souce ranges according to what is specified in the configuration range
For each text reference in the config eg "Sheet3!A2:G Sheet4!A2:E Sheet5!A2:E" it rakes a range of numbers beneath the text reference and picks from eg "Sheet3!A2:G" columns with those numbers and hstacks them in a direct order. Then vstacks all ranges "reassembled" from "Sheet3!A2:G Sheet4!A2:E Sheet5!A2:E" in one even range. Also it performs some filtering and manipulation with ugly date that is unrecognizeble by google sheets and contained by one of the source ranges (and exactly in this lines 41-62 of formula the problem appears to be)
So if I throw this problematic part away (cannot see explicit circular reference here)
IF( INDIRECT( ADDRESS( ROW(q), 1 ) ) = "Date", BYROW( pick_col, LAMBDA( presumably_date, IF( ISDATE(presumably_date), presumably_date, SUM( SPLIT(presumably_date, " ") ) ) ) ), pick_col )
And replace it simply with " pick_col " then the formula runs fine wherever I paste it.
