2024.06.02 20:09 Short_Ad_509 My girlfriend left me for another guy and when i saw him it crushed my soul

So my girlfriend (now ex), days before breaking up with me started acting weird like replying too late and sometimes not replying at all till the next day and says "sorry i slept", i felt uneasy like something was up and i asked her more than once if she was alright and kept saying she was. I didn't want to suffocate her with questions to why she replies so late and acts unlike her nice and sweet self and i chose to trust her even though i felt shitty. Next day i wake up and no good morning texts whatsoever, again, and decided to text her good morning (we already planned earlier to meet later and i was making her a bouquet and was about to buy some chocolate to make her feel better to whatever's going on with her) but instead i got a break up text saying she's sorry and that i never done anything wrong to her and that I'm amazing... Yada yada yada. Reading that made my skin crawl but i was glad i got that instead of being ghosted out of nowhere so it's okay. 3 days passes by and i went out with a friend of mine to a cafe to chill and there she was with her new guy, they were already there before us and we sat somewhere behind so she couldn't see me. She looked soo happy as they were teasing each other and laughing. The guy has a great physique and great hair and he dresses so well and he's pretty handsome aside from the fact that he looks wealthy or at least financially stable, he legit looks like those guys you see girls drooling over them in Instagram reels. The sheer pressure actually made me feel nauseous (it's not disgust and idk why i felt like this) and my self esteem went so deep in the ground it reached China. I feel horrible about myself and i lost my appetite, i can't sleep well and my head hurts, conflicted thoughts on feeling bad and "other people have it worse" keeps circling in my mind. I don't think i want to find 'the one' anymore since I don't want to try and find out. I feel ugly asf and unworthy besides the fact that I'm broke and looking back at the things i did for her and gave her they look soo cheap and i feel like a clown (even the bouquet and the chocolate sounds corny now).

Hi, here are all the products I want to finish or pan by the end of 2024. Some of them have a big progress already from previous undocumented projects but I decided to post them here anyway cause I think I can finish quite a few of these things in the next few months. I want to start my project with a list of items and give my opinions on them for anyone who's interested. I have light olive combo oily skin with enlarged pores but otherwise without many obvious imprefections.
Base:

Elf power grip primer - really don't get the hype, it created a thick film on my skin and sometimes makes my foundation and power not stick to some areas of my nose. I want to use it up and won't repurchase.
Elf Halo glow liquid filter - I love it, it gives my skin a wet look, doesn't emphasize my pores much and can serve as a very light skin tint for minimal makeup days. I like CT flawless filter just a bit more because it's sets and isn't sticky at all. Won't repurchase and will but CT instead
L'oreal true match under eye corrector - decent for minimal makeup days but I wouldn't repurchase as it doesn't correct my purple under eyes that well. Won't repurchase.
Maybelline Under eye Eraser - I love this concealer, it conceals my dark circles well without being cakey and doesn't feel heavy and uncomfortable under my eyes. And it sets well with powder and creases minimally. I have repurchased it multiple times but I won't do it again because I want a more sustainable plastic free alternative.
Missha magic cover cushion - it's okay but it get's cakey easily and I don't think it works well on oily skin. Won't repurchase.
Innisfree No-sebum mineral powder - it's a pretty good afordable powder for oily skin, I would recoment to apply it with a powder puff to lock in your makeup. I woudn't repurchase as I preffer Huda beauty loose powder to this one.
Maybelline Lasting Fix setting spray - a very good drugstore setting spray for oily skin, kinda feels similar to Sephora collection mattifying setting spray. Maybe will repurchase if I won't find a good more sustainable alternative.

Cheeks:

Em cosmetics So soft bronser - really good cream bronzer, blends super easily, very pigmented, color isn't orange ( I have shade Summer). I woudn't repurchase cause the shipping is too expensive and they are in plastic packaging.
Em cosmetics So soft blush - same as the bronzer, I use shade Baby and it's a wonderful baby pink. I woudn't repurchase cause the shipping is too expensive and they are in plastic packaging.
Em cosmetics Heaven's glow blush - I love this formula and shade (cherub), it's very blendable, pigmented and glowy bun not metalic. I want to use it as much as possible by the end of the year and maybe even hit pan. I woudn't repurchase cause the shipping is too expensive and they are in very bulky plastic packaging.
Smashbox Cali Contour palette - It's great, powders are very soft, super blendable and nicely pigmented, I want to pan the light face powder and highlighter, I already have dips in these shades and I don't think this palette would be super hard to pan fully in the next year or two. Woudn't repurchase purely cause I don't really like the bronzy highlighter and the blush reads like a bronzer on me.

Eyes:

Borjois brow gel - I have repurchased it twice and I really like it, I have nice brows and with this gel I don't have to fill them in at all but I will opt for a soap in the future because I wan't to minimize plastic waste.
Maybelline Tattoo eye liner - good, reliable and long-lasting eye liner, it sets and it won't smudge but you can work with it when you aply it. It's good but it's in plastic and you need to sharpen in shich creates microplastics so I won't repurchase.
Colourpop Level up mascara- it's clumpy and the brush is too big and aplies too much products so I wipe it on a paper towel before aplying. Won't repurchase.
Kaja eyshadow trio - lovely sparkly eyeshadows in bronzy colors for summer and autumn which is why I chose them. You can aply them in full opacity or sheer them out - they look beautiful both ways. I had them for a while so I just want to use them up and they're a bit too warm and yellow for my liking so I won't repurchase.

Lips:

Brush up lip liner - color is too light of a brown for me, formula doesn't last on the lips and it's too slippery (I preffer Nyx nude truffle). And it's in plastic so I won't repurchase.
Romand juicy lasting tint - I love these tints so much, I have 4. I love everything about them, this one is in the shade FigFig and it's a beautiful muted rose. They're glossy but not heavy or sticky. Will repurchase for sure.
Sephora care better balm - it's okay but it's too thin on my lips so it doesn't really feel as nice and hydrating as smth like Laneige lip balm. Woldn't repurchase.
Fenty gloss bomb Heat - I like the formula a lot, it's glossy, it's not too spicy and it makes my lips look juicy and hydrated, I just don't like this shade. Would repurchase just in a different shade.
Em cosmetics lip cushion - best lip balm formula ever, so soft, hydrating, glossy, well pigmented. Would repurchase if the shipping didn't cost an arm and a leg.
Catrice Melting kiss - really nice drugstore option, isn't as pigmented or glossy as Em but for the price it's a bargain, I really like the color of this one but I would like to get smth more hydrating and glossy instead so I wouldn't repurchase.

Hello,
So I wrote NEET 2024 and am expecting a GMC in my home state of TN that to definitely not in tier 1 cities like Chennai, Coimbatore. I'm really not sure what to expect from med colleges from low tier cities. If we go by education, common lore is that MBBS is "self-taught" (At least the Theory part of it), so my basis for shortlisting colleges are based on distance from my native. The thing now is I'm worried abt the crowd of people in such colleges. My friend's circle is quite niche (ppl i met from a certain boarding school in Chennai and mostly all in deemed now) and i found it very hard to find ppl of similar vibe as me in my previous schools (mostly are in GMC's, kudos to them). So now I'm concerned of friend circles.
Usually, I wouldn't be too worried abt friends (ppl come, ppl go), but since my cllg also will prolly be in a tier 3 city I was wondering how clg events would be like and matters such as ragging, relationships and stuff (I've heard stories of seniors not letting juniors talk with girls..idk for sure tho) cause c'mon we all know GMC's ain't no VIT/SRM.
So now I'm thinking of considering self finance colleges (such as PSG, coimbatore). I believe I'd find like minded ppl there and also the benefits of a tier 1 city (malls, theatres and such for a monthly get away). Not to mention, Hostel facilities and other stuff would also be better. (my ignorant opinion of a place i don't know anything about)
Now Pvt is on the table. Tuition fees is not an issue..but would it be well spent? Too many what ifs haunt my decision making and with my very limited info regarding these colleges (GMC's and PSG) i might not be able to make a informed decision and give in to my own delusions (which i don't want to). I don't want to regret the next 5.5 years is all and loose money in the process. So,
TLDR: So please drop some pearls of wisdom abt ur experiences in TN GMC's and Self Finance Cllgs such as PSG so that i can make decision on how to shortlist colleges priority wise for councelling.

Hello Everyone, yesterday I booted up my Galaxy Tab S6 Lite for the first time since like a Month or so. When I booted a few things happend.

It was connected for charing so it showed the Charging Ring but without a Number inside the circle
It started flickering and switching from bright to dim
After doing nothing for like 30 min, it sends me into odin mode. My theory is that something is wrong with the software, so I would like the forum on which steps are now necessary, to fix my tablet.

State of Dev - Intro / Q&A: Should I wait for 1.0? - They are working on a video, that will be released in the near future, which will address this question.
- Snutt talked about Recipe changes and rebalancing, Resource Node changes (movement and new ones) both of which will be covered in a video.
- But as for the question, if you want to experience the "story" you will need to start again new in Version 1.0, if you don't care about ther "story" they you can continue to play your Update 8 Game Save which will work in Version 1.0. Bottom line, wait or don't wait for Version 1.0 is up to you.
State of Dev - Q&A: Are you worried about the play concurrency level? - They are NOT worried, as most experienced players are taking a break from the game and waiting for Version 1.0, while other new players are experiencing Satisfactory for the first time, and even other experienced players are continuing their massive world projects.
State of Dev - People waiting for 1.0 - There are a lot of players waiting for Version 1.0 to either continue playing, or to download and play the game for the first time. A lot of the new stuff in Version 1.0 is related to "end game" and some current players might worry about getting burned out if the play the current "late game" too much. A majority of current players plan on restarting again, hence the low current numbers of players playing game.
- As Snutt found out, using current Update 8 Game Save in Version 1.0 will result in missing out on some of the "story" related elements. But Snutt did not play the "end game", and had only gotten to Tier 6.
State of Dev - Schedule right now is a bit weird - They do plan on releasing a video to discuss a lot of Version 1.0 related information, but currently their schedule is "weird" due to being very busy, so they don't know when it will happen, but they do plan on releasing some cool stuff soon.
State of Dev - Closed Beta - The Closed Beta, which has ended, kept them very busy.
State of Dev - More news soon - They wanted to wait for Closed Beta to end in order to get that important feedback, before releasing more news about Version 1.0 changes coming (without showing any new content).

Q&A: Will there be a video this week? - ANSWER: Snutt will be away for the next two weeks, so NO there won't be a video this week. They are working on perhaps an new Livestream format next week if they can get it working.

Q&A: Are you worried that the 1.0 release will have too many bugs that went unnoticed? - ANSWER: Version 1.0 will not be bug free but for the most part they will have identified and fixed any major crashes and issues. The now finished Closed Beta, while small, did help identify areas that needed to be addressed. They have been spending time since Update 8 Early Access Release in November 2023 polishing the game, and will continue that until Version 1.0 is released later this year.
Q&A: Is the map going to be done in 1.0, or will future updates make changes? - ANSWER: The Map will be, as much as possible, be fully complete when Version 1.0 is released, to include the planned Map Updates post-Update 8 previously announced. That does not totally eliminate post-Version 1.0 release Map tweaks to fix missed bugs / issues.
Q&A: Are Trains fixed in 1.0? - ANSWER: They have spent some times working on Train bugs/issues, but that does not mean everything will be fixed in Version 1.0. Since game development will continue post-Version 1.0, any bugs / issues will be addressed.
Q&A: Will Achievements be earned on pre-1.0 saves? - ANSWER: No. You will need to earn them again from scratch.
- This is is in reference to both Space Elevator Project Assembly and Statues (Wiki Link).
Q&A: How complex is the game going to be in 1.0? - ANSWER: "Complexity" is relative to the player, and while to some Version 1.0 (and after) may be very complex, to others not so much. Previous game experience will factor into a decision of game being too complex or not.
Q&A: Will Ultrawide support fixes work for vertically-oriented Ultrawides? - ANSWER: No it is a different solution.
Q&A: Will the API for Dedicated Servers be landing in standalone clients at 1.0? - ANSWER: The HTTP API will be for Dedicated Servers only and will not be included in the base game Multiplayer function.
Q&A: Are there any improvements planned for Drone Ports like waiting options? - ANSWER: Not known, but like all suggestions and ideas they should be posted on the Satisfactory Q&A Website.
Q&A: When will be able to automate things we currently can't automate? - ANSWER: Equipment (Wiki Link) {i.e. items you can equip) will always have to be hand-crafted and won't be automated.
Q&A: What's your opinion on the most under-appreciated Biome? - ANSWER: Opinions vary, but most of the discussion was related to the Grass Fields Biome (Start Area 1). Most new players have trouble with "space" (i.e need a large area to build) which the Northern Forest Biome, also mentioned, is harder in that respect.
Q&A: Will you start streaming on YouTube now that it's allowed on Twitch? - ANSWER: While they no longer need permission, they will limit YouTube Livestreams to Game Update Releases (like when Version 1.0 is released), and not the weekly Livestreams (which are not very "weekly" currently).
Q&A: Can you do a YouTube channel just for the Community Highlights? - ANSWER: u/SignpostMarv created, and currently updates a website for Community Highlights which has YouTube Video Snippets of most Community Highlights that was shown during previous Livestreams where the Devs highlighted some great things other Pioneers have done in the past.
Q&A: Who made the stream "Starting Soon" screen factory, is it functional? - ANSWER: The factory is from Update 3, and while it technically works is does not make sense. The answer to who made it was not given.
Snutt Talk: QA Site Spam - ANSWER: They are aware of the issue. They have recently put in some coding to attempt to stop the Spam but it did not work. There are plans to improve the Q&A Website to add measures / features that will control the amount of or prevent spam. More on that later.

I recently bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend from Spence Diamonds and the experience was great, but I’ve read lots of Reddit threads saying James Allen & Blue Nile are more affordable options so I’d like to get peoples thoughts / comments on what I paid for. The ring I bought has a 0.85ct radiant cut I VS1 main stone with a halo (16 full cut round artisan created diamonds 0.176twt SI1-2 clarity HIJ colour) set in 18kt yellow gold band. It cost $3,985 CAD before taxes. Is that a reasonable price? Are there other jewellers in Ottawa, Ontario that could’ve have done better?

2024.06.02 19:59 Ok-Cupcake-Party Discussion: The After Show needs to be reworked…

So it looks like the days of a Live Reunion are long gone now. I don’t agree with the new format, I think the original way was better but I guess from a cost perspective it’s not going back for new era.
If they’re not going to have a Live Reunion, they should at least give the final 3 some time to process what has happened and unwind before the after show. They haven’t slept properly or eaten in 26 days. Let them sleep, shower, eat, call their loves ones first before rushing them into it.
It’s unfair too because the jury members have all eaten, gotten sleep, and are able to dress nicely at Ponderosa. Let the final 3 do the same, even if it’s just for 24 hours.
Because as a viewer I do not find these after shows entertaining, it’s just hard to watch. They’re exhausted and tired… they’re not in the mood or right headspace to do an analysis on their game play. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Maryanne was completely disoriented during the after show, like what’s the point in hearing their thoughts if they’re not even capable of thinking clearly. The conversations would be more interesting if they’ve had time to sleep on it.
This year when Jeff asked Charlie about the Maria vote, I was actually mad about it… it had literally just happened, let the poor guy sit with his feelings first, not be forced to share them with the world. He handled it so gracefully and much better than I could have.
I also just like seeing the players as themselves outside of the game, even if it’s just for a brief moment… wearing the clothes they like, styling their hair the way they do, and wearing their makeup/jewellery, whatever… it’s like a full circle and they are reunited with their true selves.
I also think since it’s not live and we get no current update… it would be nice if there was a brief segment/photo montage from some of the castaways updating viewers on milestones/moments in their lives after they played the game (kind of like the finale on Great British Bake Off if you watch that show lol). Like Joe got married, Jane is now a new mom, or Bob and Sally are still good friends and get dinner every Thursday… stuff like that.
Anyways, what do you guys think?

2024.06.02 19:59 Fer_ESC What we can (and can't) expect from the Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition

As many of you know, last year the Stronghold Definite Editition got released and to no ones suprise it did really well. At this point I think the question is not if, but rather when we will get the Crusader DE. And I thought it would be quite interesting to bring up what I personally expect from the Remake/Remaster. I will do this by ranking every entry into one of the categories: Very Likely, Likely, 50/50, Unlikely, Very Unlikely.
1st: UCP Gameplay elements (Likely)
To all of you that don't know: The Unofficial Crusader Patch (UCP) is a fanmade patcher for the game that allows you to customize the game in a variety of ways. This includes bug fixes, better AI behaviour, new AI castles, unit balance changes and many other features.
I personally highly doubt that it can fully be integrated into the Crusader DE, because having a game with a million sliders and menu options just does not make much sense . However this does not mean that UCP features are out of the question. It makes a lot of sense to integrate some of the fixes to known bugs (Fletchers doing unneccesary routes, villagers disappearing, units disappearing while digging moat, ...) into the game. Also many AI's have a few castles that have bugs as well. Did you know the Wolf has a castle where he builds a chapel and immediately deletes it again? He does that repeatedly and basically wastes all his gold. Or the infamous snake castle lacking a gate that leads outside, which makes his entire population go afk. These fixed castles can also easily be implemented into the Crusader DE, mainly because they will likely re-use the engine of the original. Additionally the DE can add other options like a customizable scribe or customizable player color which were already existing in the latest Remake.

Customizable AI Difficulty (Unlikely)

Being able to change the diffculty of AI Lords would not be a new feature as it was introduced in Stronghold Crusader 2 (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). You had two difficulty settings: Easy and Normal. "Easy" made the AI play very passively, while the "Normal"-difficulty made the AI much more aggressive.
The same could be applied to the Crusader DE. I would propose the following three settings:
Easy - The AI uses the original Crusader castles (with Bugs!) and has a much slower recruiting speed which makes them hoard gold and rarely attack, similar to how the Sultan plays in Crusader.
Normal - The AI uses the original but fixed castles and has the same recruiting speeds as in the original game.
Hard - The AI uses slightly optimized castles with a better economy and defence, while also recruiting units much faster. The AI will attack earlier and send raiding troops much more frequently.

Third Crusader Trail (Very Likely)

The Stronghold Definitive Edition did not add any new buildings or units, but it did add a lot of new missions. The main mode of Stronghold Crusader has always been the Skirmish trail so I am very sure there will be new a new one here. I think the new trail will realistically have 20 missions which gives them the opportunity to advertise the game having 100 Skirmish missions. This new trail will start from 81 and will entirely consist of new maps while also using all AI Lords in the game (also the potential newly added ones).

New Historical Campaigns (Likely)

The Historical campaigns in Crusader, probably the most underrated mode there is. Firefly put out tons of new missions and campaigns in the remake so I think we can assume they'd do the same here. The main issue that stops this entry from being very likely is how limited the Crusader map editor was/is. The number of messages you could use in your maps was a joke compared to the huge variation you had in SH1. This mainly comes down to them being pulled from the military-campaign, while Crusader did not have a big fleshed out story. However they could just make all AI-Lord-messages available in the map editor and add a few "neutral" messages from the advisor.

New Units/Buildings/Map Elements (Very Unlikely)

I highly doubt that Firefly would do anything to change the core-gameplay of Crusader. It hurts but I don't think we can expect something here, after they had no new elements in the Stronghold Definitive Edition (apart from troops joining your army).

New AI-Lords (50/50)

I might be too optimistic here, but I don't consider new Lords to be an unrealistic expectation. The Stronghold DE added a new commander with animations and voice lines, so what stops them from making new Lords? The real question here is how much they will do. Adding an entire roster of 8 new Lords again sounds pretty extreme, but 4 sounds like a realistic idea. These could then also be introduced in the third Skirmish Trail, which would make it stand out and gave older players an incentive to pick up the remake.

Steam Workshop Support and Steam Multiplayer (Very Likely)

I don't think I need to elaborate on this one. The Stronghold 1 DE had it, so this one will have it as well. We will finally be able to play online games against the AI again.

Cooperative Campaigns (Very Unlikely)

This is not happening but it would be very interesting to see. The Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition had Coop-campaigns and other RTS games like Command&Conquer did it too. Stronghold Crusader has always been more of a Coop game to most players so this would be a great addition to the game.

Random Map Generator (Very Unlikely)

I am saving the best (and most delusional) option for last. Generating random maps would single handely make this the best version of Crusader. Crusader got everything: Different Lords, different Gold Settings, customizable teams, ... and it really feels like the only limited option is the map selection. Being able to create a random map by setting parameters like Balanced/Unbalanced, No Stone/No Iron, With/Without Animals, oasis sizes, Swamp, etc. would literally give this game infinite replay value.

Conclusion

As you can see, I do not expect much from the Remake as most of the things listed are pretty unlikely to be included. However it is definitely fun to think about and there is A LOT of potential here. Stronghold Crusader is their most popular game and if they do it right this remake could be their biggest success ever.

I am autisticand I do not fully understand social norms. Little back story I have been with my fiancé for almost 2 years. Before we got together he had a job and was a stable adult. I am a single mom of 2 kids 3 and 8. My last relationship was 11 years of abuse, and I was not allowed to have a job or pay bills. When he got arrested, I got a job and had to figure out bills on my own When I found my fiancé shortly after it was an instant connection. Things moved quickly I was in my place and so was he, but we didn't want to be away from each other and he decided to move into my place. We agreed to pay the bills 50/50. When doing this he realized he couldn't afford the gas to get back and forth to work (his work was about an hour away from my place). No big deal he would just get a job closer to us. He is a wildland firefighter but he begged and screamed for me not to allow him to go back after the season cause he witnessed something disturbing so I kept to my word and reminded him not to go back. I allowed him to stay rent-free till he could get a new job. I was paying the bills on my own before so I didn't see much to it. But, a few months go by and he still can't find a job. I finally got approved for housing and we moved into a new town in a new apartment. Now, we are in a different location and there are more job opportunities. He signs up for a temp agency but they are slow and he can't hold down any of the jobs given. I am still paying all the bills. He just bought a new sports car and I bought a new family car before getting together. On several occasions, I have paid his car bill for him (400) on top of my own. My monthly income is a fixed rate of 1800/month (I get disability for me and my oldest) When moving into the new place I told him I would pay rent and he could pay the electricity bill. I have made every payment on the electricity bill. I tried to leave it to him for a few months and now I owe them $700. I do purchase all the food and house items. If he does get a job that usually is only a couple hundred bucks and it goes towards his car bill. This cycle has been going on for about 2 years I am losing hope that he will ever hold down a job. He wants to do fire again this year and I am supporting him in his choice. He has thrown out allot of reasons to why he can't keep his job. At one point he quit a job because one of the people was rude to him and yelled at him because of a parking incident. I have reassured him every day since getting together that I am not a cheater he always says things like "Only me?" "You would never cheat on me?) He has gotten better a bit on that part. But he needs constant reassurance so much so he will repeat the same question 10 times or more a day for days on end. He is now asking me for reassurance that he is not a user and wants me to boost his confidence in his financial situation. He says he is struggling financially, and I need to be more empathetic. I cannot come up with things to make him feel better about his situation. I can't empathize because I have been nothing but supportive and I've taken on his financial load. He keeps asking "You know I am not using you right?" How do I reassure his insecurities? He says he feels bad but it's not his fault because he can't hold down a job. I love him, It is just stressful whenever I bring up the money issue he says things It's all about the money with you why can't you just love me? I remind him I do love him, and it is not about the money and that's why I have dealt with all his hardship, and I do remind him that I believe in him, and I know he will make it out of this rut. But when money is brought up, he gets defensive and flips it on me. One commenter in another thread mentioned crime back in the old days, I'm guessing the depression, which was quickly countered with something like "Your narrative is bullshit, it was there."
So a quick and dirty googling indicated that crime rose initially, but dropped after 1934. There's plenty of speculation as to the why and validity of it of it (crime stats were mostly local and not as reliable then), but it didn't support much of a correlation.
Additionally, the late crime spike of the 60's was not accompanied by a major economic slowdown.
So what really causes crime to increase? Liberals will tell you poverty and gun access. Conservatives will counter with breakdown of family units, drugs and all things Kim Gardneresque.
Both of these could be true to varying degrees. I used to lean conservative, but I've sworn off political allegiances. Jeff City has plenty of batcrap crazy, as does Springfield, IL.
I'm not interested in a political debate or a spouting of narratives, though I'm sure I'll get plenty of that on reddit.
I'll speculate that crime happens due to a number of reasons, but here are a few.

Broken window theory has been devalued, but I'll still say there's something about a well kept neighborhood vs. one that looks like crap. Burglars always say they look for easy pickings. Predators pick off the weak. If a neighborhood shows that nobody cares, bad stuff is gonna happen.
I'll keep pounding the drum for tree lined city streets. They supposedly reduce crime consistenly by something like 7%, and just feel safer. I was driving through NSTL, and one stretch of blocks had almost no trees. Buildings weren't terrible, but something felt a little off. Then I found a few blocks of shade, and it just felt safer. I don't know why, but I noticed. This should be a non partisan solution, right?
I've also read that blue tinted streetlights have a similar calming effect. How expensive would it be to tint our streetlights blue? Who would find it politically offensive?
I can't remember the book or author, but just Google age demographic trends or something and you'll find him. The guy runs a hedge fund based on age demographic research. He originally learned while working in advertising that age demographics matter. Example given was Honda motorcycles sold like crazy until 1986, when sales started dropping. Eventually he figured out that there weren't enough young single men to keep buying up the high speed death rockets. Which leads to the dangers of testosterone.

Testosterone is great. It makes men strong and horny, two things critical to human survival. Unfortunately, it also makes them fight and do stupid things more. This is great if you need them to charge an enemy in war, but bad if you want a peaceful city. I say this as a former young man who did many stupid things that could've made me a career client of the justice system. Young men do stupid things, including violent crime. There were a lot of young male boomers by the late 60's. Lots of violent crime is usually traced to young men. Sad, but I'll say likely true.

I got dumped after a longish term relationship. Obviously, I am heartbroken. But, I’m also remembering how docile my sex drive is when I’m without a partner. I don’t fixate on bodies like I do with someone I’m dating. I don’t derive joy from touching my own body, aside from the purely masturbatory element, and I can’t even get there without feeling intrigued. I can’t recall what masturbation looks like for me when I’m single? Everything about sex for me is about my partner. Seeing them, hearing them, knowing them, them knowing me, sharing the enjoyment, etc. I even want to be talking to my person when I get off alone.
We had a great sex life, at least, I feel that way. Who knows what I’ll learn when I drop their stuff off in a few weeks time. But, we didn’t rush. They knew I’m demi and it had been years since I had a legitimate sexual relationship. They moved at my pace, didn’t want to rush me. This ultimately ended up being me always initiating, which was an issue in itself. Point being, my fantasies with my ex live in a special pit of emotional hell. They’re so real, and I had every intention of trying all those things with them. I felt I had every reason to believe there was no reason to rush anything. They’d be around.
Getting off once a week was frequent for me at the beginning of our relationship, then it starting ranging from 0-3 times a week, which was definitely a lot for me. It felt right, I had the urge to get off without them present, but thinking of them or chatting with them. Getting off never really feels right for me without the fantasizing or emotional support of a partner present. Not to mention, I have SEVERE drops in mood afterward, and talking to or being with my partner remedied this very well.
I’ve sexually explored, but just sleeping with someone to enjoy sex isn’t an option for me. Even a friends with benefits can’t work. It’s like my body functions under my personal ethics of not wanting sex with someone until I’ve been made to believe the relationship has the intention of being long-term. Except in addition to not wanting to have sex with anyone, I don’t want to have sex. And I definitely felt benefits to my mood from getting off multiple times a week. The thought of porn or sex or getting off almost disgusts me now, and nearly brings me to tears. I’ve hidden anything sexual far away. It’s crazy to feel this way. Devastated, like I’ll never want to have sex again. Never mind the anxious thoughts about my ex. Was I not enough for them? Would they be with me if I were fulfilling them sexually? Did they want to have sex more? Do they have someone lined up to give them what they really want? Are they going to be able to have sex with no lingering thoughts of me, and how soon?
Do other people feel this way, too? Is this all my trauma talking? I know I’m in a trauma response right now. I’m supposed to start doing the real legwork for working through long-held trauma with therapy starting soon. How am I supposed to do that when the only thing sex could bring me right now is a physical release (and likely emotional distress and thoughts of my ex)? I felt so supported before. It feels so personal to tell someone I’m working through this trauma. I have a lot of shame surrounding it, mentioning it makes me feel like they can see through me into the trauma I endured.
If other people have felt this way, how did you move forward? Did your first attempt at pleasure after the breakup just remind you of them and make you cry? Do I simply wait until they don’t come to mind? Do I simply wait months?

I’m asking because I wanted to just grab these sets at a local retailer. The closest Lego Store is an hour and a half away, I was going to line up early and buy the whole wave but my girlfriend really wants to go with me every time I go to that store so I can’t go until Friday when she can go. Anyways, i checked all my local retailers yesterday and didn’t find anything. Today this ad went live on the Target app and it says “only at Target” and that none of the sets are sold in stores. Is this a ps5 situation or do you think they’re just not on shelves yet? Hard to tell because my Target hardly ever changes the stickers in the Lego aisle to match what’s on the shelf on time. This is also the only way I’m getting the Captain Rex Y Wing, I’m not going that far out of my way for a micro fighter. If it’s there when I go to the Lego Store that’d be one thing but I only go there to make big purchases usually because there’s no sales tax in NH.

Hey all - I was just setting up a tier 2 power set up with 3x high pressure, 3x low pressure, and in my initial design I built a 200 throughput pipe which delivered steam to each high pressure consumer and was fed by 3 boilers - pic for reference. (For what it counts my redesign put all turbines on the same line and is entirely different)
This seems like it should work to supply each turbine reliably, the pipe can sustain 200 of a unit. The boilers provide 48 per 60 seconds. The turbines use 48 per 60 seconds. And since my factory wasn't even using all the power - should saturate the pipes.
Yet even when boilers were constantly running, the first turbine would be fully fed - yet later ones would have intermittent steam supply, seemingly unable to use everything in the pipes. When pipes were separated - the three turbines used it just fine.
So basically what I'm trying to discern is what is up with COI's pipes where they don't seem to behave like a lot of other factory automation game's pipes, and their throughput often feels limited in ways it shouldn't be. I feel as though I've noticed similar odd behaviors when pipes are highly sectioned, as though something in the simulation causes that to hitch.
Does anyone have any insight into this issue or good explanations for why it happens? It makes certain planning and behavior unintuitive unfortunately.

Okay so it all started when my best friend D (lets call everyone here I'm mentioning by their initials for the sake of privacy) called me to tell we were going to complain against this guy R because basically he harassed D, one of my best friends J, and my close friend S (yes we the victims are all female and in middle school). So basically R harassed D last year by whispering a bunch of stuff like "I'll fuck you"...yeah you get the gist. He also harassed S the same way and J too but he harassed J in a more vulgar way like "I wanna fuck you" , "you have 10 secs" , "come to the bathroom", etc. Some guy in R's carpool also made J uncomfortable by telling her "you're sexy". So ofc the next day in school D, S, J (note: there is this girl called A who's R's ex gf and she is is on R’s side and she didn’t complain against R because post breakup trauma I guess but she’s only a witness nothing more) complained against R. Class Teacher said she'd call us later in the staffroom.
Now here comes my part of the story, R's best friend AG was supposed to sit next to me in school because arranged seating. Now idk if I'm overreacting but if AG wants to copy something from me in his copy, he could have asked me directly to move my hand, but he just suddenly took my wrist, of course I was shocked in that moment. AG was also sitting improperly and his leg was literally on the the part of the chair that you keep your feet on, like a foot rest typa thing, basically I couldn't even concentrate on my studies when he was sitting with me, I could've endured it if I was sitting with him for let's say 1 week or less, but he was supposed to sit next to me for FREAKING 6 MONTHS. Also once AG and R was sitting in our seat when we were sitting in our previous seating arrangement (with another student) but the weird thing was that I SOMEHOW FOUND AG's almanac in my bag?? I asked J about it and she said it was probably done intentionally or as a prank, anyways I didn't wanna cause drama so I returned it to AG the next day and he acted coy about it, I thought nothing much of it.
NOTE: that R and AG are literally delinquents, like they literally get into fights and drama, worst part is most of the boys in our class support them so if me and my friends complained against this troublesome duo, the whole class would turn against us, but luckily we have S's best friend's gang, my gang and of course some of the boys on our side. So back to where I was, on the last day before summer vacation (10th May in our school) me, D, S, J complained about R and AG (I was the only one who complained about AG ofc with the witnesses as my friends D, S & J and D, S, and J complained about R with me and A as witnesses). So timeskip to break, the teacher called all 5 of us in the staff room, first D, S, J complained about R, then J told me to go to the staffroom where our class teachers were calling me (yes we have 2 class teachers), I complained about AG and how I feel uncomfortable sitting with him, so the teachers called AG and gave him a scolding and told him to stand outside for the rest of the break period. (bro he literally only got a scolding and timeout, no real punishement whatsover despite the fact he did worse shit than this, but hey, atleast I don't have to sit with this mf anymore so yeah :D) Now when I go back to the classroom, I suddenly saw the scene infront of me. Yes, my best friend was crying and S's best friend's group, our friend group and a few other girls were circling around her seat. I got to know from S that D was crying because none of the boys, or the freaking prefect was believing my best friend D, so we spent the entire break to calm D down, next period, the teachers told us to give a written complaint to them so me, D, S and J did that and gave it to the teachers, we also explained the whole situation to them verbally, then mam told us she’ll solve it and to go back to our class. But here’s the plot twist: I got to know from D that the teachers canceled the complaint against R and AG because literally most of the boys are on their side, plus our maths teacher and physics teacher literally gave them a second chance because the class only said half stuff about them and didn’t told the full story, the students downplayed it like “oh that was an accident he won’t do it again” and mind yall we complained last year too the previous class teacher said “action will be taken against them” no action was taken whatsover all lies. And everyone thinks I'm overreacting just because AG touched me but none is asking him why he touched me in the first place. So yeah that’s pretty much it.
In brief: basically, a bunch of boys harassed me and my friends and said inaproppiate words, teachers didn’t take any action whatsoever even though these boys have been doing this and worse for the past 6 years and worst thing is almost the whole class and the prefect are in their support, plus the school literally suspends kids who write against them to preserve their name, there also has been 2 rape cases and a bunch of harassement cases yet the school couldn’t care less to handle the matter and instead silenced the victims. Btw I can’t say the school name but yeah, you’ll not see any bad reviews here cuz our school is kinda underrated plus they have really good PR to remove bad reviews.

I would also say that we went to the staff room we completed the reflective and we wrote all the things that happened the teacher told us that she would take the strict action but after the 2nd last period we got to know that R did not get any punishment apart from getting scolded yes everyone deserves a second chance but he should get atleast some punishment like suspended for a week there was a rule that there is a zero tolerance to bullying but he didnt even got punishment and he was not even guilty he was laughing all the time and his friends on top of that was teasing us and not letting us talk to one of his friends who is apparently our friend and is like we did wrong and stuff we shouldn't have done it, also I wanted to clarify that I didn’t complain actually in break time against R because his ex gf A told everything is solved and I couldn’t at that time (previous year) and J’s case happened a few days before summer vacation started.

I graduated from University in the legal field, the plan originally was to go to law school and become an attorney. I found out I hated law so I made a career pivot. Eventually I started working at Charles Schwab in finance, this was during the Pandemic so it was a fully remote job, Recently at the end of 2023 Charles Schwab started requiring employees to come back to the office (I was making 65k salary). I didn't want to move and definitely didn't want to commute 100+ miles per day so I left. I tried for 3-4 months to find another equally paying job in finance with no luck (everything would have been a pay cut of 10-20k). I started searching in other industries and interestingly enough I found a government job in the legal field paying 70k. Recently I've come to realize that I hate the job and don't necessarily find it interesting (It requires a lot of work for the pay and realistically there is no growth or promotion in this position - only a 3% inflation salary adjustment when approved by the government). Also because I don't necessarily find it interesting, I feel as though I've been underperforming in the role. I recently got an offer from Fidelity matching the salary I was getting at Charles Schwab (65k/year). Apart of me wants to leave my government job but apart of me is afraid. The government job is salary, offers pension, probably bettecheaper health insurance, & of course a lot of job security (Although I would have to work a minimum of 8 years to vest into the pension and a maximum of 32 years to fully vest for the highest retirement income). I have two children and a wife (so we are a family of 4). Would you guys stay at the government job even though there is no growth opportunity, not entirely happy, & would have to stay a long time for the pension to be worth it? Or would you go with Fidelity since it's the industry you are passionate about but isn't salary (remote and hourly), would have to work overtime to make up the difference in pay, is probably a lot less secure since it's remote/the company could remove the role, & of course no pension (they do a 401k match of 7% and a profit sharing of up to 10% - both come after 1 year with the company)? Another detail that I'd mention is, because I live near my parents and want their grandchildren to be apart of their lives moving is not an option (which is what made me relinquish my title at Charles Schwab initially).
