11.4.5 Sense Node

2024.06.02 17:01 AdamLuyan 11.4.5 Sense Node

11.4.5 Sense Node
Sense is heart, has three significances: clear discernment is named as sense; mean and measurement are named as intention; Aggregate Arousal is named as heart. Aggregate Arousal has three significances again: first, heart can aggregate and storage juristic seeds; second, heart is those juristic seeds being aggregated; thirdly, juristic seeds grow by fumigation, and heart can arouse ripened seeds into performances, has them become bodily orally and intentionally behaviors currently. See section 14.1 for more explanation of Aggregate Arousal.
Among Buddhist 100 laws, there are eight positions of sense laws totally, namely, (1) eye-sense, (2) ear-sense, (3) nose-sense, (4) tongue-sense, (5) body-sense, (6) intent-sense, (7) preconscious-ness, and (8) unconsciousness. The seventh pre-consciousness is the mobile working platform of the former six senses. The eighth unconsciousness is the total root of the former seven senses, also known as the fundamental sense. The sixth Intent-sense, i.e., consciousness, in daily life usually includes the preconscious and the unconscious. The Sense Node is the sum of the karmic accumulations of the former six senses.

11.4.5-1 Differentiations of the Eight Senses

(1) eye-sense, which is the seeing of seeing colors. (2) ear-sense, which is the hearing of hearing sounds. (3) nose-sense, which is the smelling of smelling fragrances. (4) tongue-sense, which is the tasting of tasting tastes. (5) body-sense, that is, the feeling of feeling touches. (6) intent-sense, which is the know of knowing laws. The six senses are exactly seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling, and knowing; and they also have the name of six feelings.
(7) preconscious-ness, is called Mana-sense in Buddhism, and Eve-sense in Godly religions. Ancients said that it is subtle and difficult to distinguish, so they use its major companion "Intent" to represent it. Therefore, we call Preconscious-ness as Intent in Buddhism. Preconscious-ness is root for six former senses, is ever updating work platform of heart (i.e., mind), which is constantly updating itself with the change of intention.

Ancient people often used "measuring worm" (see fig. 11.4.5.1-1) to describe the behavioral characteristics of preconscious-ness. When the measuring worm moves, the back feet are always grasping something; the front feet are looking for a place to land, as if pondering. After the front feet have grasped something, the back feet follow. The behavior of preconscious-ness is very similar to that, preconscious-ness is also always grasping something, and looking around, pondering. When it discovers and moves to a new target, it renews its attachment, and then searches for a new target to move on to. The preconscious attachment, which has the function of internal along-thoughts ego, was called Abel by the ancient Egyptians, and Quetzalcoatl by ancient Mexicans. The attachment that Eve-sense's hold is the precedingly faded thoughts, and that belongs to Adam-sense (i.e., the contaminated part of the unconscious).
Because of the above characteristics of Eve-sense, the ancient Egyptians used the breastfeeding of Abel to indicate that the woman is Eve (see Figure 11.4.5.1-2). Eve's neatly arranged pattern (motif) hair in the figure represents “500 majesties 108,000 charms” (cf. section 16.2), which is the woman's skin that God coated on Eve. Figure 3 shows the ancient Mexican Eve, Chalchiuhtlicue, who also signaled her status as Eve by breastfeeding Quetzalcoatl. The tree she is facing is her Enlightenment Tree that grows from her Ollin Heart (i.e., bodhicitta, the oath she took when she was child).
In addition, preconsciousness has a promoting effect on the formation of language, so the ancients also call it as Escalatory Language Feeler, meaning that preconsciousness has escalatory function on language.
(8) The greatest characteristic of the unconscious is mutably mature. Mutable matureness means that the seeds in the unconscious are ripened by fumigation and mutation. Mutation is ripening because mutation is capable of holding karma. Here is a brief description of the unconscious in the words of a poem by Tang Tripitaka, “Receiving the fumigation, holding the seeds, it is the root, the body, and the vessel world (i.e., the material world); leaving later, coming first, being the non-lord executive.”

11.4.5-2 Correspondences between Eight Senses and Nine Heartlands

Nose-sense and tongue-sense exist only in Desire Boundary (Fig 11.4.5-2-23). Eye-sense, ear-sense, and body-sense exist in the Five Interests Mixed Dwell Land (Fig. 23) and the Leave Producing Laugh Land (Figure 24). The former five senses are absent in the third land (Fig. 25) and above. The sixth and seventh sense are prevalent in all the three boundaries nine lands, except for the Thoughtless Retribution and the Longevity Sky. The eighth sense, unconsciousness, prevails in all the three boundaries nine heartlands.

11.4.5-3 Correspondences between Eight Senses and Environments

The 8 senses have 3 kinds of objective environments, namely, nature environment, solitary head environment, and qualitative environment.
I) Nature Environment, which environment has its own nature, has factual function, is what the aggregative heart manifests after gain of the objective nature, has the following five significances. A) It is obtained from the present quantity. B) It has media qualities, such as a sound must have hearable media qualities. C) It is born from its own seed, cannot be produced directly by the aggregative heart. D) It has factual function and usage. E) Its nature and boundary category do not change along heart’s change.
II) Solitary Head Environment, which is projected by the aggregative heart itself alone, its presentation is projected and held on by the internal thoughts, has no other nature. There are four states of mind studied in Buddhism, namely: A) the wakeful state of mind; B) the still state, i.e., hallucinational state, such as the phenomena talked in Chapter 12 Meditation; C) the state of dream; and D) the state of loose mind, such as the occasionally popping up thought by the mind on its own. The last three of these four states are all Solitary Head Environments.
III) Qualitative Environment, that the objective environment has it own based on quality, the subjective viewer cannot get its real natural phenomenon. The kind of environment has following two types. A) Truly Qualitative Environment, means that heart aggregates heart, i.e., the sixth sense is to aggregate all other hearts and heartland laws, and the seventh sense alone aggregates view-quadrant of the eighth sense. B) Similar Qualitative Environment means that heart aggregates color (color means matter in Buddhism), the saying is that the projected objectives have similar quality to its own, such as according to sutra’s teaching to make view, which view is not the present environment aggregated by the former five senses.
The former five senses and the eighth sense only aggregate Nature Environments. The sixth sense can aggregate all the three types of environments. The seventh sense only aggregates Qualitative Environments.

11.4.5-4 Correspondences between Eight Senses and Three Quantities

The quantities processed by eight senses have three types, namely Present Quantity, Metaphysical Quantity, and Non-Quantity.
I) Present Quantity is the environment being aggregated by the capable measuring heart, when the heart aggregates the objective phenomena, not having distinguishments and cognitions. Present Quantity has the three significances. A) It is the present time, not past or future. B) The object of cognition must be manifesting, i.e., it must be a law in the present position; seeds cannot be Present Quantity. C) Presently have, the able heart and the being measured environment, both must be clearly presenting at front, mutually combined.
II) Metaphysical Quantity is measurement fruit obtained through speculative comparison and conjecture. For example, if you see smoke on a mountain, you know that there must be a fire there; if you see two horns outside your courtyard wall, you know that there is a cow outside the wall.
III) Non-Quantity is a collective term for “similar present quantity” and “similar metaphysical quantity”. Similar present-quantity is that there is distinguishing intelligence that takes measurements on environmental differentiations, such as a wise man who knows that vases and clothes, etc., which are born from treatment and discrimination, because of those significances not based on their self-phenomena. Similar metaphysical quantity, which arises in accordance with the similar causing intelligence at first, such as in the case of mistaking fog for smoke in a mountain and deducing that there is fire there. Another example is to see a vivid stone lion and be afraid, not thinking it is just a stone. The inability to understand correctly that it is a stream of the true but not the true is called the similar metaphysical quantity.
The former five senses and the eighth sense only aggregate present quantities. The sixth sense can aggregate all the three kinds of quantities. The seventh sense only aggregates non-quantities.

11.4.5-5 Correspondences between Eight Senses and Morality

Morality can be simplified to the three kinds: benevolence, memoryless-ness, and ferocity.
I) Benevolence means the behavior that can benefit this and other generations. Eye-sense, ear-sense, etc., the former six senses have benevolent nature.
II) Ferocity means the behaviors can cause damages in this and other generations. The eye-sense, ear-sense, etc., former six senses have ferocious nature.
III) Memoryless nature, morally neutral, neither good nor evil behavior leaves behind unrecorded karma, i.e., karma without memory or immaculate karma. There are two kinds of memoryless nature, namely, Convertible Memoryless-ness and Nonconvertible Memoryless-ness.
A) Convertible Memoryless-ness is saying of the seventh sense, preconscious-ness, its behaviors are contaminations, but it does not produce good or evil karma, which is called Convertible Memoryless-ness. Preconscious memory is like the memory of a computer, updating all the time, which means that preconscious-ness is Convertible.
B) Nonconvertible Memoryless-ness is talking about the eighth sense, unconsciousness. Many unconscious natures remain unchanged throughout life, and it does not distinguish good and evil, its nature can’t be contaminated, nor good and evil, hence name of Memoryless-ness. The Nonconvertible Memoryless-ness means that everything is remembered unconsciously from the time a person is born to the time of death, and the memory of its past experiences comes into play whether the person's consciousness remembers it or not.
Among the eight senses, eighth sense, unconsciousness, aka God-sense, is only nonconvertible memoryless nature; seventh sense, preconscious-ness, aka Eve-sense, is convertible memoryless nature. Eye-sense, ear-sense etc. former six senses have all the three ethical natures, which is saying that they appear as good nature when they are among good laws; when they are among evil laws, they show as evil nature.

11.4.5-6 Correspondences between Eight Senses and Heartland Laws

The former five senses correspond to the 34 heartland laws (cf. section 11.4.4.1), which are the 5 Omnipresent Heartland Laws, namely, attention, touch, acceptance, think, and mean; the 5 Particular Environment Heartland Laws, namely, desire, resolution, spell, stillness, and gnosis; the 11 Benevolent Heartland Laws, namely, belief, shame, sin, greedless-ness, non-irritability, non-ignorance, diligently advance, light ease, non-indulgence, acting renunciation, harmlessness; the Fundamental Annoyances, namely, greed, irritability, ignorance; the 2 Medium Following Annoyances, namely, shamelessness and sinlessness; and the eight Large Following Annoyances, namely, drowsiness, depression, unbelief, slackness, indulgence, lost spell, agitation, incorrect know.
The sixth sense, intent-sense, corresponds to all the 51 heartland laws (cf. section 11.4.4.1).
The seventh sense, preconsciousness, corresponds to the eighteen heartland laws, which are the 5 Omnipresent Heartland Laws, namely, attention, touch, acceptance, think, and mean; the 1 Particular Environment Heartland Law, gnosis; the 4 Fundamental Annoyances, greed, ignorance, arrogance, and Seth view; and the 8 Large Following Annoyances, drowsiness, depression, unbelief, slackness, indulgence, lost spell, agitation, incorrect know.
The eighth sense, unconsciousness, corresponds only to the 5 Omnipresent Heartland Laws: attention, touch, acceptation, think, and mean.

2024.06.02 16:58 secretguy110 A huge proportion of stand up comedy right now is just “Here is my marginalized identity. Here are things that people get wrong/misunderstand about it.”

Idk if this is just what gets circulated in online clips, but I’ve seen this exact format repeated countless times by different comedians recently. “I’m (insert identity group). People usually assume it means (stereotype), but it actually means (either total contradiction or ironic doubling-down on the validity of said stereotype)”. Audience laughs every time the comedian pauses like they’re being held at gunpoint. Maybe these are just bad open mic comics who get boosted by the algorithm bc their material generates discourse, but it feels strange that during this wave of comedy becoming more demographically diverse the themes and subject matter of the jokes has become more homogenous. Notable exception in the realm of marginalized identities is gay men. They funny.

2024.06.02 15:49 flyhigh3600 How to progress

I am trying to make a multi-purpose AOT compiled programming language with customizable syntax, fast execution speed, pythonic syntax, and special features including a language transpilation library that enables me to use languages like Python, JavaScript, Java, etc., inside my language.
I am intending to make it using the help of LLVM oand MLIR, but to be honest, I am not the best when it comes to C++. I am more comfortable with Python or Go ,and for efficiency and comfort, I am intending on making a bootstrap compiler.
Now I am confused as to how to approach this and how to generate efficient binaries. I am also intending to make a custom packaging format that enables platform-independent execution on the system, but I am confused as to how to approach this humongous project.
For the pattern matching system, I plan to use my own implementation for normal cases and fallback to regex in cases where my macro system fails. However, I am also confused about how to create a macro syntax that is reasonably good and user-friendly.
Any suggestions may help me! Thanks in advance BTW.

2024.06.02 15:13 digigal99 Auto-generate flashcards or close from notes

I am a high school tutor, and I want to give my students tools to use active recall and space repetition. Remnote seems like a great resource, especially since it allows you to type in your answers, so they can check their spelling. Is there any way they can auto generate flash cards or cloze questions directly from full sentence notes or uploads, such as using AI?
I want to remove all barriers so that this becomes a very easy tool for them once we set it up, to encourage them to use it in all their classes. Even needing to go through their notes and type brackets in order to turn them into cloze questions might be inconvenient enough that some students will forget and then won't use the tool. Of course, they can change their note-taking style to take notes in the flashcard format, but this inconvenience will discourage some students who need the help the most.
Thank you!

as of this weekend, i updated [via pip] the jupyterhub and jupyterlab [4.2.1] stack we have incl matplotlib and now a simple 'import matplotlib' in a ipkernel console errors on me [it used to work just fine] :

The origin and evolution of peoples: the play of external factors and the will to live of man
The origin and evolution of peoples: the play of external factors and the will to live of man
This is a very overview of humanity's development to date.
The development of any human society is associated with the formation of what is now called “people's mentality” or “national character”. To tell the truth, the concepts are rather abstract, unspecific, and everyone can put their own subjective meaning into it.
However, one thing is certain - any human community develops under the influence, by virtue of or even in spite of a number of factors and conditions, including natural and climatic, socio-cultural conditions, the level of technological development and, most importantly, the level of “biological force”.
All these conditions influence the development of a society, whether it is a single ethnos or social group, or a number of ethnos and social groups living in the same territory, uniting or deriving new forms of human activity over time. Human society can develop, survive, stay in a state of rest and comfort. And it is under the influence of the above factors that a human community, such as a nation, is born, lives and dies. Different states replace each other vertically up and down. For our convenience, let us take the notion of a single nation as a basis.
To tell the truth, I see here an opportunity to distinguish 3 basic states of people, which have always existed, at any stages of humanity development, in different kinds of human communities, even within one state, but in different regions, in parallel with each other, which are influenced by the above-mentioned factors.
Let me emphasize: Human communities can be as heterogeneous as the vast spaces they can occupy. The notional colonists who arrived on the North American continent on the Mayflower, surrounded by hostile Indian tribes, persecuted by hunger and disease, found themselves in conditions incomparably worse than their compatriots in England. This is just one special example to understand. In other words, we are dealing not with a “toggle switch” that strictly switches a nation from one state to another, but with a “tuner” that brings it (or a part of it) to a certain state with a certain degree of smoothness.
Hence, it follows that one state gradually replaces another, when the majority of the representatives of this or that community find themselves in the same conditions. Hence, the criterion is the opportunities/conditions of life of the majority of the population.
The states are:
1. Survival state - there are very few resources, little or no surplus product, there is a constant struggle for survival. Competition in the vast majority of cases is external. We could observe such a state of peoples both in ancient and modern times on the examples of some peoples of Asia or the African continent.
2. The state of development - resources are enough so that it is no longer a question of survival. The most fruitful stage of society development. Resources become enough to allocate forces and means to carry out risky activities (war of conquest with an equal rival for resources, colonization, expedition, development of new territories, subjugation of other peoples). In addition, within the society there is a rise of creative spirit, creation of new things, intensification of means of production. The direction of energy depends on specific external and internal factors. At the same time, failures in this kind of enterprises are forgivable and do not threaten to ruin, various resources are quite enough to correct the situation.
3. The state of comfort - satisfaction of the needs of the majority of the population, the emergence of a sense of general security. As a consequence, the consumption of various kinds of goods displaces the desire to expand the living space, kill any desire to risk the level of comfort that is already available.
Existential paradox
Some nations and human communities changed states, reached from one state to another. Some perished at the stage of “survival”, struggling to the last for their existence, but still dissolved into others. Some perished, rapidly losing their positions in the state of prosperity. And those few who on the historical straight line reached a state of “comfort” were similarly crumpled by the more «fierce» and «predatory» peoples in the states preceding it.
This is the normal, natural course of things; such is the nature of man. Relative comfort and excessive fulfillment of basic needs beyond measure leads to a suppression of the will and drive to win, a loss of the desire to dominate dangerous competitors in the struggle for survival.
Thus, we can observe a paradox. Striving to change one's condition, qualitative and quantitative improvements of living space, lead to victories over other nations, development of technologies and improvement of living standards of ordinary people. However, when whole generations do not systematically face any existential threats, they lose the skill of confrontation and easily perish at their first appearance.
Thus, the situation in recent decades is extremely interesting. The average modern person from the point of view of our brain lives better and more nourished than ever before. The average inhabitant of bedroom city neighborhoods has running water, heat, electricity, a refrigerator, a soft couch and almost unlimited access to information. In other words, he lives “more comfortably” than ancient kings and emperors.
Modern man has an opportunity to satisfy all his basic needs, which he actively does, thus falling to the very bottom of Maslow's pyramid, because his psyche and hormonal system are sundered by simply an incredible amount of factors unnatural for the human organism, that he will never get out of the unnatural state for a human being. We are talking about the most powerful catalysts of hormonal influence: alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, fast food, sugar, pornography, movies, negative news, etc. (I am sure that this is a topic for a separate conversation).
Modern Western society, the peoples of Europe and North America, and even some Asian peoples, such as Japanese and South Korean, have entirely entered the “State of Comfort”, which has become a great trap for the human brain. The illusion is created that by eating a delicious meal, drinking a beer, then masturbating and falling on a soft couch to watch a TV series, the human species has reached the peak of its development, the purpose is fulfilled.
High-calorie, high-sugar foods signal to the brain that survival for the near future is assured. Masturbation signals the successful fertilization of the most beautiful women and the continuation of the species. And conditional watching of TV series, where the main character successfully defeats all enemies, signals to the brain that the highest point of domination over other people has been reached powerful catalysts. After all, our brains associate ourselves with what triggers our reactions and excitement.
The human brain, which has existed for millennia in the mode “Fight, extract, survive, reproduce” has not yet had time to adapt to the changed reality. That is why it sincerely reads the events that have happened as something like: “Great, I've had a hearty meal, I've continued the species, I've gotten a lot of information, I've defeated a lot of enemies. Yes, I'm dominant, I can't get any better!”.
What spiritual and physical development can we talk about under such conditions? What spiritual and physical victories and achievements should be expected? Where to find the strength for real courageous deeds and achievements? The questions are rhetorical.
It is quite clear that this configuration of the “State of Comfort” is reaching its peak in recent decades. The factors and examples I have listed are only a very small part of those factors that have a negative impact on the modern man living in a “Comfort State”, which I will write more about.
Why are such conditions created? It is an open question. Does the “State of Comfort” portend doom or a return to the condition that preceded it? Similarly. One thing is certain: realizing the level of development of the society in which you live, realizing yourself as a part of this or that nation in a certain “state” is extremely important for understanding modern trends of human development and realizing yourself, which is a prerequisite for becoming a mature and strong personality.

2024.06.02 13:50 Fun-Explanation1199 Final draft

Suprabhat, Vannakam, Adab and Welcome to the 2024 LOK SABHA GENERAL ELECTION THUNDERDOME
NO RULES, NO LIMITS, ONLY CHAOS.
THE CAGE:-
India is a parliamentary democracy that follows the first-past-the-post voting system, similar to the standard Westminster System. The Lower House of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha) consists of 543 seats representing 543 constituencies that send 1 Member of Parliament (MP) each. These 543 MP's then choose a prime minister via simple majority.
For each constituency, a political party gives a ticket to a single Candidate. The Candidate with at least a plurality of votes in a constituency represents that Constituency in parliament as a member of the party.
There are no party level primaries in India, the candidate for a constituency is decided by the party high command and only one person from a party can be on the ticket for a particular seat. You can contest multiple constituencies though from the same party as Narendra Modi (2014 BJP Candidate for both Varanasi and Vadodara) and Rahul Gandhi (2024 Congress Candidate for both Rae Bareili and Wayanad) have done. If no existing political party gives you a ticket, you can contest as an Independent Candidate or form your own party and contest as a member of your own party.
The government can be formed by the party or the alliance that has a simple majority of MP's. When no single political party has a majority of MP's, an alliance of various parties can be formed that contains the majority of MP's. This is called a post-poll alliance, where the parties contest elections separately but might come together after the elections in order to form the government or be part of the government. However there is also the pre-poll alliance where political parties join or form an alliance before the elections. In a pre poll alliance, the alliance party will strategically choose how many and which seats each alliance partner will contest to maximize their chance of winning
KEY NUMBERS

THE FIGHTS -
Economy & Employment:
The incumbent BJP-led NDA government makes the positive case of economic growth and development under its decade long tenure. It points to strong rejuvenated GDP growth with relatively low inflation, rising wages, a growing middle class, stable macroeconomic positioning, strong spending, slashing of multidimensional poverty, a strong and well administered welfare state, expanded free trade, sharp reduction in regulation, increase in select manufacturing and industry, a revitalized finance sector, and a thriving service market.
The government points to the large-scale infrastructure development undertaken, expanding roadways, delivering expansive electrification, and provisions of basic utility services. They point to the stagnation and policy paralysis observed under the tenure of the last Congress government (UPA 2), and further make point to the opposition's alleged proposed populist economic programs as untenable and unfeasible. They make the case that the opposition has leftist economic policies that are not grounded in economic reality.
The INC-led I.N.D.I.A opposition on the other hand, makes the negative case against the incumbents, pointing to large scale youth unemployment, even among educated youth. They point to an alleged inability of the government to tie growth to employment. They allege a failure of manufacturing capacity and sufficient industrialization of the economy, highlighting the lack of sufficient private capital inflows. They criticize the growth figures of the economy by casting doubt on the government's statistics, and focusing extensively on growing wealth inequality, alleging that growth only occurs for the rich billionaire class, with minimal relief for the poor, targeting specific attacks against domestic industrial magnates, Adani and Ambani. They allege favoritism on the part of the incumbent government towards their select base, highlighting the state of Gujarat as being prioritized over other states.
In making their positive case, they propose a more inclusive and redistributive model of growth, proposing heightened subsidization programmes, more welfare and support programmes, higher taxation on the wealthy and corporations, leveraging private capital inflows for infrastructure development, and prioritizing equitable growth through a caste census, developing corrective policies for inequalities between castes.
They aim to solve the employment crisis through expanding roles in state enterprises and filling government vacancies, alongside expanding labour intensive industries like manufacturing and mining, whilst pointing to high growth rates of the economy as well as committing to expand manufacturing through reforms and subsidy platforms like the PLI, FAME etc., further claiming that increased infrastructure spending will lead to crowding in effect thus enabling faster industrialization.
Social Justice:
The issues of social equity and justice have become major cornerstones of both the incumbent and opposition electoral platforms. This is most prevalent through the forthcoming section on sectarianism, but also focuses on key issues regarding class equality and - most importantly - caste-based discrimination.
The incumbent BJP-led NDA government point to their solid track record of universal poverty alleviation, targeted successful welfare and affirmative action programmes. The INC-led I.N.D.I.A opposition on the other hand, point to growing wealth inequality and apparent institutional and systemic discrimination against underprivileged caste communities in academia, employment, governmental programmes, courts, the military, etc. They allege that the government has not committed to taking resolute and definitive action against casteism through corrective policy.
This all boils down to the Reservation system, a large scale, affirmative action initiative, conducted through a systematic quota-based policy of allotment of institutional positions in education, governmental employment, schemes and programmes, direct political representation, etc.
With reservations estimated to have hit 59.5% of Central Government Institutional positions, there are now broader calls to expand the scale and scope of this drive. The opposition wanting to break the cap limits and even introduce this system into the private sector to potentially induce parity, while the government commits to more modest hikes of upto 62.5% while playing into incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi's identity as a member of an underprivileged caste community.
While the opposition campaigns on removing limits to the quota system to deliver equity, the government alleges these commitments to be populist and detrimental, while alleging that the opposition seeks to potentially appease its Muslim voter base by introducing expanded reservations for Muslims, thereby allegedly sabotaging the disadvantaged Hindu lower castes, and redistributing their wealth to Muslims, in a bid to gain their votes.
Communalism:
Both the incumbent BJP-led NDA government and the INC-led I.N.D.I.A opposition have framed communalism as a lynchpin issue of the Election. The incumbent government points to alleged casteist and bigoted rhetoric against select caste groups and Hindus. They allege the opposition panders to minorities for their votes, whilst not delivering on the real issues. They allege the opposition seeks to drive up divisiveness and shared social harmony in India. They further allege that the opposition engages in divisive rhetoric on key issues of Hindu-Indian culture like that of the Ram Temple, in ways that contradict the spirit of the Indian State.
The opposition on the other hand, accused the incumbent government of being bigoted against minority communities, from the large Muslim community to the lower caste communities of Indian society. They allege use of hateful and divisive rhetoric against these communities and point to select controversial government positions and policies on issues like the Ram Mandir, the controversial CAA-NRC laws, the proposed Uniform Civil Code, among others. They further allege institutional degradation of key offices including policing, academia, and the military in discriminating against minority groups.
Institutional Independence:
The INC-led I.N.D.I.A opposition alleges institutional degradation and capture of various independent governmental entities by the incumbents. They point to the use of Executive, Investigative, Anti-Corruption, Enforcement, & Tax authorities against opposition figures and media as evidence, highlighting specific cases of the detaining and arrest of two sitting opposition Chief Ministers, and the resignation of one. They highlight alleged selective targeting of opposition figures for raids, charges, and arrests, creating an alleged environment of impunity for the government. The opposition alleges heightened and blatant partisanship of members of the Judiciary in support of the incumbent government. They also allege illegitimate freezing of campaigning funds, crackdowns on press freedoms via capture of media institutions, and also critically alleges institutional capture of the Election Commission, casting doubts on election results primarily critiquing India's Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).
The Government rebukes these claims as part of a strong anti-corruption drive, highlighting a drop in governmental corruption cases since the previous Congress government (UPA 2, infamously riddled with such allegations). The government frames the opposition parties as corrupt and power-hungry, while further disparaging the opposition's alleged unfounded attacks on Indian institutions, apparent partisan attacks on the judiciary and critiquing apparent unfounded claims of election denialism.
THE FIGHTERS –
The election is primarily clash between two large coalitions, and their leading parties. On one side, you have the incumbent government of the BJP-led NDA, or National Democratic Alliance, and on the other, you have the opposition INC-led I.N.D.I.A, or Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, a new mega coalition of more than 35 parties, with a few unofficial supporters too.
The following is a list of some key players in each of the alliances and is by no means a comprehensive or exhaustive list of all involved factions.
The incumbent NDA includes:
  1. BJP – The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party - "Indian People's Party") is a Hindu nationalist party committed to Hindutva ideology, promoting Hindu culture, opposing Muslim immigration, and creating a nativist country wherein India embraces a fundamentally Hindu social fabric. The BJP government under Modi undertook strong reformist policies in promoting liberalization of the economy through aggressive regulatory reforms, furthering free trade through FTAs and privatization of underperforming state assets. They took aggressive stances on defense and counterterrorism against Pakistan and China, while pragmatically engaging other nations despite criticism on some foreign policy moves for being 'wolf warrior-esque'. They uphold a strong nationalist domestic and foreign policy, that simultaneously does not retreat from globalization. On National Security, they aim to make India a regional power with a strong emphasis on modernization & indigenization of military administration and technology, while also reducing bureaucratic and manpower burdens through varied recruitment windows. BJP manifesto
  2. JD(U) - The JD(U) (Janata Dal (United) – “People’s Party (United)”) is led by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and has been in power in the eastern state of Bihar since 2005. It was formed after a series of splits and mergers in the Janata Dal in the 90s. It is credited with doing good work in the state on roads, electricity, and water, however it has failed to provide jobs & spur manufacturing. This, combined with its leader frequently switching between rival alliances, is causing anti-incumbency. The JD(U) left NDA in 2013 due to Narendra Modi's candidature. Then it joined the RJD in 2015 and formed the govt the same year. Then it parted with RJD in 2017 (supposedly due to corruption allegations) and went back to the NDA. NDA went on to win state elections in 2020. In 2022, it parted with NDA again and allied with the RJD, then in 2024, it once again parted with the RJD and joined the NDA. JDU website
  3. TDP - The TDP (Telugu Desam Party – “Party of the Telugu Land") follows a pro-Telugu ideology. It was founded as an alternative to the Congress hegemony, by emphasizing Telugu regional pride and serving as the party for farmers, backward castes and middle-class people. Since the 1990s, it has followed an economically liberal policy that has been seen as pro-business and pro-development as well as populist welfarist measures. TDP Manifesto
The opposition I.N.D.I.A includes:
  1. INC - The INC (Indian National Congress) is a big tent social-democratic/democratic-socialist party with its foundational pillars being equity, equality, and egalitarianism. They take broad commitments to secularism and class equality to be principal positions. The INC under Rahul Gandhi has taken strong positions on caste issues, shining light on inequities from past and current discrimination, and proposing active policy interventions. While the INC also holds a free-market/pro-liberalization consensus, they emphasise growing social and wealth inequality and seek inclusive and redistributive growth with strong state intervention. They also see some proposed liberalising reforms to further inequality and take an 'anti-corporatist' position. They take a slightly less strong position to Indian foreign policy, stressing a more diplomatic approach (with minimal variance on actual positions to the incumbents). They embrace globalisation in part, while emphasising India's need for domestic development. They aim to industrialise India rapidly through stimulating private investment and aim to subsidise both supply and demand. They seek to maintain the Indian military with a focus on highly trained soldiers. They pioneered multi-alignment as the foreign policy for India. INC Manifesto
  2. AAP - The AAP (Aam Aadmi Party – “Common Man's Party"), part of INDIA coalition, currently holds power in two key states - Delhi and Punjab. Its chief figurehead and leader, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate under an alleged liquor scam in the run up to elections. Barely a 10 year old party it has expanded very quickly to many states, running two of them, and now has national party status by the Election Commission of India (ECI). It leans centre-left to centre-right, with some play of soft Hindutva, while its economic platform comprises heavy spending in education, health, and free schemes of water and electricity. They rose to power on an anti-corruption program in 2013 and continues to have it as its central plank. AAP website for 2024
  3. CPI(M) – The CPI(M) (Communist Party of India (Marxist)). They commies lol. The CPI(M) is one of the larger and more mainstream communist parties in India. Since they operate within the Indian republic's constitution they have adopted more Indian characteristics. They are primarily against privatisation in the public sector and in favour of universal education and healthcare. Their base has traditionally been in Kerala, one of the more developed states in India in terms of income levels and HCI. they're in favour of private sector reservations and in recent years have also been pro-FDI. They promise non-aligned foreign policy, but largely are very anti-US and pro-China. They promise to restore Article 370 and oppose forceful seizure of land by the government. They're one of the most influential parties in India due to a strong cadre and student union ecosystem. They've had an effect on the farmers' protests as well as economic positions of the INDI Alliance. CPI(M) MANIFESTO
  4. DMK - The DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam - “Dravidian Progressive Federation") is a big tent broad left-wing party that is foundationally Dravidian (primarily Tamil) Nationalist, with strong emphasis on social equity and caste issues, while being staunchly secular and atheistic, and interventionist, statist, heavily welfarist, and industrialist in economic policy. They are primarily a regional party operating in the state of Tamil Nadu, led by M.K. Stalin, the state's current Chief Minister. DMK manifesto
  5. RJD - The RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal – “National People’s Party”) is a caste-based (Muslims & Yadavs) political party in the Indian state of Bihar, which it ruled from 1990 to 2005. Its rule was one of extreme lawlessness & anarchy. It was called the “Jungle Raj”. Between 1990 & 2000, Bihar's per capita income and power consumption fell off a cliff due to mismanagement. Its CM, Lalu Prasad, was convicted of corruption in 2013.
  6. SP - The SP (Samajwadi Party – “Socialist Party”) believes in creating a socialist society that operates on the principle of equality. Although the party previously ran on an anti-computer, anti-English, and anti-machinery platform, under its new national president Akhilesh Yadav, the party has made a 180° turn. Now, the Samajwadi Party declares itself to be the party of infrastructure while maintaining its commitment to social justice, with a special focus on teaching computer skills. The party's main base is in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which is the most populated state in India, with a population of 230 million. The only negatives associated with the party are the rampant dynasticism within its ranks and its perceived soft stance on law and order issues. SP Manifesto
  7. JMM - The JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha – “Jharkhand Liberation Front") currently runs the government of eastern state of Jharkhand. The party has historically centred tribal rights as its central plank and agitated for a new tribal state separate from Bihar until 2000, when their demands were met. It leans centre-left to left with their key issues being tribal control of land, mineral and mining rights, addressing issues of rehabilitation of tribals. The party is primarily run by the Soren family, with Champai Soren being its chief minister candidate in the current government after the last chief minister Hemant Soren was arrested by the enforcement directorate. JMM is in alliance with the Indian national congress in the state, and part of the INDIA coalition for the Lok Sabha elections. They face charges of corruption and the image of dynastic politics.
The “It’s Complicated”, Unaligned, Split, and/or other Supplementary Parties include:
  1. TMC - The TMC or AITC (All India Trinamool Congress, Trinamool means Grassroots) is a Bengali political party ruling over the state of West Bengal since 2011. It is led by Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee. It is a centre-left, welfarist, Bengali Nationalist party. It has been criticised for using heavy-handed authoritarian tactics against opposition leaders in the state, corruption, and political violence. It is credited with ending 34 years of communist rule in the state. West Bengal under the AITC has registered subpar economic performance and is largely stagnant. Pertinent to note Mamata used to be Congress leader till 1998, and AITC, in spite of being sympathetic towards the I.N.D.I.A. alliance at the national level, is fighting the Congress-Left alliance in West Bengal on all 42 seats. TMC Manifesto
  2. AIADMK - The AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam – “All India Anna Dravidian Progressive Federation") is a broad centre-left/left-wing party adhering to foundational Dravidian philosophy, while emphasising Tamil identity. Traditionally being less ethno-nationalist than their sister opposition party the DMK, they adhere to broad welfarist left-wing populism, focusing on social justice and communal equity, while being less economically statist than the DMK. They also focus primarily on Tamil Nadu as a regional party, currently led by Edappadi Palaniswami. AIADMK manifesto
  3. Shiv Sena - The Shiv Sena (“Army of Shivaji”) was founded by Bal Thackeray in 1966 as a populist, xenophobic party, although the party gradually added Hindutva ideology to its anti non-Maharashtrian plank. It was the long time senior partner to the BJP in Maharashtra till Narendra Modi's popularity caused a change in the dynamics. After power sharing talks with the BJP failed in 2019, the Shiv Sena switched alliances to join hands with their long time rivals in Congress and NCP in an arrangement that made Bal Thackeray’s son Uddhav Thackeray the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In 2022 again, The Majority of Shiv Sena politicians led by Eknath Shinde rebelled against the top leadership to ally again with the BJP, taking control of the party and toppling the Uddhav Thackeray government. The splinter group led by Uddhav Thackeray is called SS (UBT) and it is allied with the Congress in the INDIA Alliance. SS(UBT) Manifesto
  4. NCP – The NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) was founded in 1998 by Sharad Pawar and a few others who left the Congress in 1998 after Sonia Gandhi was made Congress president. Despite its formation, the NCP was a long term ally of the Congress sharing virtually the same ideology. In 2023 however, like the Shiv Sena, In a rebellion led by Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit, a Majority of NCP politicians switched alliances to support the BJP and took control of the party. Like the Shiv Sena, the Splinter group led by Sharad Pawar and his daughter is called NCP (SP) and it's allied with the Congress in the INDIA Alliance
  5. YSRCP - The YSRCP (Yuvjana Sramika Rythu Congress Party – “Youth, Labour, & Farmer Congress Party”) was founded by the son of an old congress Chief Minister after he was denied the role of Chief Minister after his father. It's a populist centre-of-left party with strong focus on welfare schemes and cash benefits. It's mired in controversy due to its dynastic nature, its ties to Christian Fundamentalism and American Missionaries targeting the marginalised.
  6. BRS - The BRS (Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi – “Indian National Council”) was formed originally with a single-point agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital. They are largely neoliberal and are credited with rapid economic growth in Telangana.
  7. BJD – The BJD (Biju Janata Dal – “Biju’s People’ Platform”) was formed by Naveen Pattnaik the son of the former CM of Odisha, Biju Pattnaik. It’s a Odia regional party with a strong focus on poverty upliftment through welfare policies and equitable economic growth.
  8. BSP - The BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party - "Majority Community Party") is a centre-left party in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which was started to uplift Dalits and other marginalised communities in India by Kanshi Ram. Its current party president is Mayawati. BSP is considered as one of the biggest parties in India as per vote share, although it's currently in decline. At its height, this party had a strong base in many states across north India, but now it's only limited to the state of Uttar Pradesh, which is one of the largest states in India with a population of 230 million. There are strong suspicions of BSP working in secret with BJP, and maybe that's why the party is not fighting this election enthusiastically. Although they can still make the competition interesting on a few seats in UP.
OTHER KEY ISSUES -
1. Political Dynasticism:
Although dynastism is thought to be a good fix for internal chaos in a party, the current political leader of the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, is a fourth-generation dynast who has to carry the political baggage of everything which went wrong during the rule of his grandmother and great-grandfather.
Also because one family has been controlling the Congress for decades, it has caused various state-level leaders to either form their own party or join another one. They see no future in the Congress anymore because the door to leadership is always closed for them. This has destroyed the ground level cadre of Congress party in many key states.
Rahul Gandhi’s privilege combined with the lack of any real political acumen so far has led to the INC taking damage due to his infamy.
Nepotism and dynastic politics has been a key issue throughout the last 10 years as BJP positions itself as the ‘common man’s party’
2. The Ram Mandir:
A land dispute originating from the alleged destruction of a Hindu Temple, replaced by a Mosque built allegedly atop the site (the Babri Masjid) in the 16th century allegedly by Mughal Emperor Babur in present day Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, the proposed birthplace of the Hindu deity Lord Ram.
Following a century of sporadic conflict, from 1853 to 1949, a revivalist movement in the 1980's would lead to rising communal tensions, culminating in the 1992 destruction of the Babri Masjid by Hindu Nationalists and devotees.
The legal conflict over the land would continue until 2019, when the Supreme Court of India issued the controversial ruling that the land be handed over to government trust for the construction of the Babri, with separate land being allotted to the local Muslim community for construction of a Mosque.
Almost all elements of the dispute remain mired in controversy. From the historical and religious associations of Ayodhya with Ram, the existence of a definitively Hindu structure, the alleged deliberate destruction of the said temple, the times and events of construction and use, the participants, planning, and events of the 1992 destruction, the ASI Archeological Surveys that served as key evidence for the Supreme Court being tampered and politicized by both sides of the political aisle, the legality of the ruling itself, and other surrounding issues regarding justice against those alleged to have partaken in the destruction of the Babri Masjid.
3. Foreign Policy:
The BJP is campaigning on building a multi-aligned foreign policy where India is seen as the world’s friend as well as an upcoming regional power. This was at its peak during India’s G20 presidency. Many Indians claim the rise of India’s global stature is an electoral issue. This can be seen in the popularity of the government’s anti-terror operations in both Pakistan and beyond. The resurgence of an interventionist foreign policy has proven to be popular in projecting the strongman image of Modi. The country’s commitment to its strategic autonomy and multi-alignment have been a fixture right since Nehru.

2024.06.02 13:43 tempmailgenerator Mastering String Replacement in JavaScript

String Manipulation Essentials in JavaScript

JavaScript, as a cornerstone of web development, offers various methods to manipulate strings, vital for creating dynamic and interactive web applications. String replacement is a fundamental operation in this context, allowing developers to search for and replace instances of specific text within strings. This capability is crucial not only for text processing tasks such as formatting user input or generating content dynamically but also for data validation and cleanup, ensuring that the data conforms to the necessary standards before being processed or displayed.
The process of replacing strings in JavaScript can be achieved through different approaches, each with its own set of advantages and considerations. Understanding these methods and their appropriate applications can significantly enhance a developer's ability to handle text efficiently. Whether dealing with simple replacements or more complex patterns requiring regular expressions, mastering string replacement techniques in JavaScript is essential for anyone looking to advance their web development skills and create more robust, error-free applications.
Command Description
String.prototype.replace() Replaces the first occurrence of a substring with a new substring.
String.prototype.replaceAll() Replaces all occurrences of a substring with a new substring.
Regular Expression (RegExp) Used to specify the pattern for the substrings to replace.

Understanding String Manipulation in JavaScript

String manipulation is a cornerstone of web development, allowing developers to perform a myriad of operations to process and transform text data efficiently. In JavaScript, strings are immutable, meaning that once a string is created, it cannot be changed. Instead, operations that appear to modify a string actually create a new string. This characteristic is crucial when dealing with replacements or modifications within strings. One common task in web development is replacing all occurrences of a specific substring within a string. This operation can be essential for data cleaning, formatting user input, or preparing data for display. JavaScript provides several methods to achieve this, but understanding the nuances of each approach is key to applying them effectively.
The traditional method for replacing all occurrences of a substring involves the use of the `String.prototype.replace()` method combined with a regular expression. The simplicity of this approach makes it appealing for many scenarios. However, developers must be familiar with regular expressions to use it effectively, as the syntax can be complex for beginners. Additionally, newer methods and techniques have been introduced in the latest versions of JavaScript, offering more straightforward and readable ways to accomplish the same task. These advancements reflect the evolving nature of web development and the continuous efforts to make the language more accessible and powerful for developers of all skill levels.

Replacing a String in JavaScript

JavaScript Programming
const originalString = 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.' ; const substringToReplace = 'fox' ; const newSubstring = 'cat' ; const newString = originalString .replace ( substringToReplace , newSubstring ) ; console .log ( newString ) ;

Using replaceAll to Replace All Occurrences

JavaScript Technique
const text = 'The fox is a fox' ; const searchFor = 'fox' ; const replaceWith = 'cat' ; const result = text .replaceAll ( searchFor , replaceWith ) ; console .log ( result ) ;

Exploring String Replacement in JavaScript

Manipulating strings is a common task in web development, and JavaScript provides various methods to perform these operations efficiently. One particular scenario that often arises is the need to replace all occurrences of a specific substring within a string. This task may seem straightforward, but it involves understanding the nuances of string manipulation in JavaScript. The challenge often lies not just in replacing a single occurrence, but in ensuring that every instance of the substring is replaced throughout the entire string. This requirement is crucial in various applications, such as formatting user input, dynamically updating UI elements, or processing data before it is sent to a server.
JavaScript's .replace() method is commonly used for this purpose, but it has its limitations when used with a simple string argument, as it only targets the first occurrence of the substring. To overcome this, developers must use regular expressions with the global modifier (/g). This approach allows for comprehensive string replacement, ensuring that no instance of the target substring is left unchanged. Additionally, JavaScript's newer methods, like .replaceAll(), introduced in ECMAScript 2021, offer a more straightforward syntax for achieving the same result without requiring a regular expression for simple replacements. Understanding these tools and knowing when to apply each can significantly enhance a developer's ability to manipulate strings effectively in JavaScript.

Frequently Asked Questions on String Replacement

  1. Question: What is the difference between .replace() and .replaceAll() in JavaScript?
  2. Answer: The .replace() method can replace only the first occurrence or all occurrences if used with a regular expression and the global flag. In contrast, .replaceAll() directly replaces all occurrences of a substring without needing a regular expression.
  3. Question: Can you replace a substring case-insensitively using .replace()?
  4. Answer: Yes, by using a regular expression with the case-insensitive flag (/i), you can perform a case-insensitive replacement with .replace().
  5. Question: How do you replace multiple different substrings within a single string?
  6. Answer: You can chain .replace() or .replaceAll() methods, use a regular expression that matches all substrings, or write a function to replace multiple substrings iteratively.
  7. Question: Is it possible to use a function as the replacement argument in .replace()?
  8. Answer: Yes, you can provide a function as the second argument to .replace(). This function can dynamically generate replacement strings based on the matched substring.
  9. Question: What happens if the substring to replace is not found in the string?
  10. Answer: If the substring is not found, .replace() and .replaceAll() will return the original string without any modifications.
  11. Question: Can .replaceAll() be polyfilled for older browsers?
  12. Answer: Yes, .replaceAll() can be polyfilled. You can define a function that mimics its behavior using a regular expression with the global flag in environments where it's not natively supported.
  13. Question: How do you handle special characters in regular expressions used with .replace()?
  14. Answer: Special characters must be escaped with a backslash (\) in the regular expression. For dynamic patterns, you may need to programmatically escape special characters before creating the regex.
  15. Question: Can regular expressions be used with .replaceAll()?
  16. Answer: Yes, while .replaceAll() is designed to work with strings, it also supports regular expressions, allowing for more complex replacement patterns.
  17. Question: Are there performance considerations when using .replace() with regular expressions on large strings?
  18. Answer: Yes, regular expressions can be computationally expensive, especially on large strings or complex patterns. It's important to test and optimize your code for performance in such cases.

Wrapping Up String Replacement in JavaScript

Mastering string replacement in JavaScript is an essential skill for developers, enabling them to handle text manipulation tasks with ease and precision. This discussion highlighted the importance of understanding the nuances of .replace() and .replaceAll() methods, alongside the strategic use of regular expressions. Whether it's enhancing user input, manipulating data for display, or preparing information for backend processing, the ability to replace substrings accurately and efficiently plays a pivotal role in creating dynamic, responsive web applications. As JavaScript continues to evolve, staying informed about the latest methods and best practices for string manipulation will remain crucial for developers looking to refine their coding skills and improve their applications' functionality and user experience.

2024.06.02 12:26 Wild-Sherbet8098 So here's some guff that's been plaguing my thoughts lately.

The entire world is basically being governed now by oligarchs & and corporations, and they're serving their own interests - consolidation of wealth & power, over all resources and industries. They're incrementally implementing a system of technocratic world government rn🤯
People don't seem to understand. For well over a century now, in fact more like two or three in a very demonstrable, evidenced historical sense, a small group of special interests have controlled banking, energy (oil), and most important earthly commodities. They've monopolized, and they also ruthlessly destroyed competitors to their enterprises. Robber barons. Banksters.
They created the original pharmaceutical industry as means of intervening in human health by promoting the drugs made from their petrochemical byproducts, whilst systematically destroying ancient herbal and homeopathic healing practices by funding dodgy science to discredit them, and often literally gangstalking and gaslighting practitioners out of business. They spread this model to the world, with China one of the strongest holdouts.
They created the system of modern education used worldwide, for the most part. Fine details sometimes vary. Board of Education. Curriculum. These things have been used to compartmentalize rights to certain knowledge, to control access to knowledge. Many of these entities have connections to Einstein, for example. Some of his physics is wrong, pure and simple. Terrence Howard is out there proving that. I believe the truth was known and suppressed.
It opens up the doors to free energy, galactic mining, better methods of production of so many things, better methods of healing. Have you ever heard of Royal Raymond Rife? The dude was healing people with frequency in the 1930s. Cancer, and many other diseases, cures by his treatments. But the pharma cartels moved to destroy him. Look at prohibition. Do you really believe prohibition happened because they were concerned with people drinking? It happened because cheap, clean burning, effective alcohol fuels could be made with any organic plant matter and a still (used in making alcohol). It was a giant threat to the oil interests of Rockefeller, Rothschild, et al.
There are numerous dynastic bloodlines reaching back some centuries now. Again, robber barons. They have also had a dominant influence in all forms of media, but especially news. Reuters was obtained by the Rothschilds in the late 1860s. But as with all of their wealth and acquisitions, true figures and proofs of ownership are often occulted. Indeed, most of the important knowledge has been occulted, and by occulted, I mean that in the true sense of the word, "to shut off from veiw, cover, eclipse".
They've hidden so much, especially about health and how our bodies interact with the environment, with nutrients, with many compounds. They're poisoning us in numerous industries. Everybody is sick. They also investigated mind control tonnes through intelligence operations in many countries. State employees carry these things out, obtaining for government workers a huge amount of opportunity for wealth generation, but giving then plausible deniability.
Still, they learned a lot. How much we dont fully know. The award winning documentary The Minds Of Men probably gives the most thorough assessment of what we have evidence for. It's terrifying. And they say it stopped. It didn't stop. It continues. It probably became deployed through media and education. The power of subliminal messaging & hypnosis has been written off, yet they knew these things worked and began deploying them on the public.
Look into the very provable Laurel Canyon conspiracy, or the Tavistock Institute, throughout the 1960s, both the UK and USA, ran major operations to infiltrate the pop culture landscape within music. It had always been there in film, but now it got rolled into the music industry. There's a very well researched book on the Canyon stuff - Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream
Social engineering. Stimulating fads, fashion, trends. Influencing behavior. Relationships. Attempts at influencing culture run deep and are still going on today.
We don't really know what society would organically be like...without these parasitic oligarch bloodline families and their anointed/appointed henchmen, usurping all the prosperity and abundance, and leaving us the scraps, slowly enslaving us to a life of unnecessary servitude while occulting the secrets of the universe that would free us.
And frankly, if you think a conspiracy like this is far fetched you really need to put some time aside for some research. It's very clear, and there's numerous threads one can follow through history, going back centuries.
Look into Sabbatean Frankism. Sabbatai Zevi, Jacob Frank, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, Adam Weishaupt. The Bavarian Illuminati. Which infiltrated Freemasonry. Started the first corporation, the East India Company. Own all the banks. Colonized half the world.
History, they say, is written by the Victor, especially in an age where the most widely used encyclopedia is constantly edited The information you have access to forms your perception of the world, history, reality itself. This has been significantly manipulated for decades.
The systems that govern us have been rigged against us. The time for revolution was a while ago. John F. Kennedy himself said "we are surrounded on all sides by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy". He said it used covert means to achieve its ends. We know how that ended.
Meanwhile, the left & right remain still so divided, and they don't realize how much the same they are, fundamentally. We need to stop being childish, stop being triggered, communicate & discourse, plan and bring this fucking cabal down already. Around the world, we all need to do this.
Just today I was yapping to my mother about filmmaker and politician Aaron Russo who eventually blew the whistle when he got groomed by Nick Rockefeller for a role in the Council On Foreign Relations, an unelected, Rockefeller appointed body who Hillary Clinton once claimed she got her marching orders from while secretary of state. Russo was rising in his political career when Rockefeller laid out a lot of alternate versions of historical events, and even predicted accurately future ones.
Russo, not a fool, a genuine and forthright, bright dude didn't really think Rockefeller was serious. He thought he was a bit mad. Because about a year before September 11, 2001 he told Russo the entire unfolding of 9/11, even talked about Bin Laden, CNN in caves in Afghanistan, etc. Russo distanced himself from Nick after that, never dreaming that it was true. He figured as a super wealthy dude he was a little Howard Hughes syndrome, cooped up, out of touch, delusional. Then boom. He knew he was telling the truth about everything.
One of the alternate versions of history was the Rockefellers funding the formation of a movement around some of its most radical academics. Now, bear in mind. Every campus in the United States has a secret society. There's a highly detailed documentary about them all by the makers of the aforementioned mind control doco. Secret societies, and things like the Rhodes Scholarship, are how they maintain a network of oversight and grooming the figures you want to be a part of the game, and to sabotage those whose values will conflict with theirs.
These radical academics created second wave feminism, a movement which I argue has been hugely injurious to society. Nick Rockefeller told Russo that the whole point of it was to get women into the workforce, in order to make them taxable where previously they hadn't been. The knock-on effect was desirable to them also - earlier access to children for indoctrination and social engineering.
Now, I'm not disputing the concept of equal rights for women, equal pay, and equal opportunity. But these radical academics whose works spurred on and deeply influenced the movement, ultimately launched a hideous assault on womanhood. The notion of patriarchy as toxic works in certain places, like the work place. But not in the home, and not when it comes to raising children.
I have ADHD and Autism. In my research I've read a bit about child development. Including, in my view one of the best, Gabor Mate's Scattered Minds. It's very clear that child development is hugely delicate, both in and out of the whom. I watch a lot of classic black and white cinema, and if you watch that stuff you will see that any woman who is pregnant is to be off her feet, taking it easy, being waited on with careful attention to nutrition, no stress or taxation of the nervous system, preferably no interpersonal drama. This was the norm.
Suddenly as women began joining the work force in larger numbers come the 1960s, "liberated" they tell us from the profound and altering lifetime achievement of creating a human life, loving, nurturing and educating it, what you ended up with was successive generations raised largely by strangers in childcare which has rampant abuse problems, or by state employees peddling establishment approved curriculum. Indoctrination centers.
Pregnant women work right up until the day they give birth these days. I knew one who was an ER nurse and did. For fucks sake, okay I get that you wanna have a career. You're a nurse. Fabulous. But don't have a fucking child AND be a nurse. Pick one. Because being a mother is a full time job.
They gave women equal job opportunities, but systematically the role of women as a parent. There's many reasons why women and men are broadly speaking better suited at different things. Women by nature are nurturers. This life literally germinated and grew in her body. The human veing is a primate, essentially. In most primate species, including our closest ancestors, young remain at their mother's side until at least 9. Literally clung to her side.
Yeah, women can and do perform almost all kinds of jobs. But what's lost in the shuffle is all the crucial things to ensure proper development, at the literal biological level during gestation, but also during early childhood. In the years since women's liberation into the workforce, the rates of neurodiversity skyrocketed.
Gee, I wonder if it could be because we as a society let the literal fetal development of our kids become a mere "nuisance" to overworked, overly stressed mothers trying to have their cake/career and eat too. The parenting of children has gone absolutely to shit, unnoticed, for decades. Done by strangers, or state employees or MTV nowadays, Tumblr, TikTok, PornHub too are raising more peoples kids right now than they are themselves. We send them school for the head shrink.
None of them are getting the crucial socialization and affection and attention to establish healthy inner workings, emotional regulation, reading people, etc. All the things associated with spectrum activity are deeply connected at the development level to the commitment of our mothers and fathers in raising us.
It doesn't matter which parent stays at home with a child. But we really need to return to a society where one parent is committed to raising their child and keeping the home for at least 9 years of the child's life, and obviously it stacks per child. I really feel like we are literally the product of these parasitic elites social engineering, and I still find the role of pharmaceuticals and the hideous proliferation of processed foods alongside that doesn't play a part too.
Again. It actually is all very well known to anyone who looks into things instead of waiting to be told them by "authoritative" sources. That kind of thinking is the biggest trap. Basically a way of saying establishment approved and controlled sources. Most of the individuals and networks have associated names and addresses. We just need to gain some control over the apparatus of our states again and begin investigating and arresting them. This includes the churches by the way. Names and addresses.
I don't know. Hopefully this is food for thought.

2024.06.02 11:59 Jupiter177 A Reddit's guide to Neurogenesis: Key Factors!

As a cognitive performance enhancer enthusiast, I've always been intrigues by the concept of "neurogenesis".
Have you ever wondered how some people's brains stay sharp and adapt to new information or training as we age? The secret lies in a process called neurogenesis. Neurogenesis is the formation of new neurons in the brain.
It’s crucial for cognitive functions like learning, memory, and overall mental agility. If you're looking to boost your brainpower, understanding neurogenesis is key.
What is Neurogenesis?
Neurogenesis is the brain's way of creating new neurons, and even neural networks, which are the building blocks of our nervous system. These new neurons are essential for keeping our brains flexible and capable of learning new things. The key regions involved in neurogenesis are primarily the hippocampus and the olfactory bulb.
The hippocampus is especially important because it's responsible for forming and storing memories, learning, and regulating emotions. By promoting neurogenesis, we can help maintain our brain's health and improve our cognitive functions, making it easier to learn new skills and retain information as we age.
The Science Behind Neurogenesis
The journey to understanding neurogenesis has been fascinating. In the late 1990s, researchers at Rockefeller University conducted studies on marmoset monkeys. They used a tracer chemical to differentiate between mature brain cells and newly formed ones.
Their studies revealed that the hippocampus continues to create new cells throughout life, challenging the old belief that neurogenesis stopped after childhood.
Later, researchers used carbon-14 dating to study brain cells in humans. This technique helped them understand the age and development process of these cells.
They found that, while cells in the hippocampus die off, they are quickly replaced by new ones. This continuous replacement is vital for the hippocampus to maintain its functions related to memory and learning.
Interestingly, the rate of neurogenesis can vary from person to person and tends to decline with age. However, this decline isn't consistent and can be influenced by various factors like lifestyle and genetics.
The exciting part is that recent studies suggest that neurogenesis continues throughout our lives, particularly in the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. This ongoing process not only helps with learning and memory but also protects our brains from stress.
Understanding these findings gives us hope that by adopting certain lifestyle changes, we can encourage neurogenesis and keep our brains healthy and sharp well into old age.
Factors That Enhance Neurogenesis
If you're looking to boost your brain's ability to generate new neurons, there are several key factors you should consider.
These factors include physical exercise, specific foods, and supplements that can enhance neurotrophic factors and neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotrophic factors like BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) and NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) play crucial roles in the growth, survival, and differentiation of neurons.
Neurotransmitters, on the other hand, are chemical messengers that transmit signals across synapses in the brain. By enhancing these factors, you can promote neurogenesis and improve cognitive functions like memory and learning.
1. Cardio Exercise
Cardio exercise is one of the most effective ways to increase neurogenesis. When you engage in activities like running, cycling, or swimming, your body produces more BDNF. BDNF is a protein that supports the growth and differentiation of new neurons and synapses. Higher levels of BDNF are associated with improved brain function and neurogenesis.
The impact of BDNF on neurogenesis is profound. It not only helps in the formation of new neurons but also enhances the survival of existing ones. This means that regular cardio exercise can help maintain and even improve brain health over time. Additionally, increased BDNF levels have been linked to better mood, reduced anxiety, and enhanced cognitive functions.
If you're looking to boost your brain health, incorporating regular cardio exercise into your routine is a great place to start. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate to intense cardio most days of the week. Not only will this benefit your heart and overall physical health, but it will also give your brain the boost it needs to stay sharp and healthy.
2. Ceylon Cinnamon
Ceylon Cinnamon isn't just a tasty spice; it’s also a powerful enhancer of neurogenesis. This variety of cinnamon contains active compounds that can increase levels of BDNF and GDNF (Glial cell line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) in the brain. These neurotrophic factors are vital for the growth and protection of neurons.
BDNF and GDNF work together to enhance neurogenesis and protect dopamine neurons, which are critical for memory and mood regulation. By consuming Ceylon Cinnamon, you can support the production of these essential factors, leading to better brain health and cognitive function. Studies have shown that these compounds can help improve memory and increase dopamine levels, which can enhance motivation and focus.
To incorporate Ceylon Cinnamon into your diet, you can add it to your morning coffee, sprinkle it on oatmeal, or include it in your baking recipes. Just a small amount each day can have significant benefits for your brain health. So, if you’re looking for an easy and delicious way to boost neurogenesis, give Ceylon Cinnamon a try.
3. Lion’s Mane Mushroom
Lion’s Mane Mushroom is a unique and powerful natural enhancer of neurogenesis. This mushroom contains active compounds that significantly increase levels of NGF (Nerve Growth Factor) in the brain. NGF is crucial for the growth, maintenance, and survival of neurons, and it plays a key role in neurogenesis.
The effects of NGF from Lion’s Mane Mushroom on neurogenesis are impressive. NGF promotes the formation of new neurons and supports the existing ones, leading to improved cognitive functions such as memory and learning.
Additionally, it has been shown to protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases by enhancing the brain's ability to repair itself.
If you’re interested in boosting your brain health, incorporating Lion’s Mane Mushroom into your diet can be incredibly beneficial. You can find it in various forms, such as supplements, powders, or even fresh mushrooms.
Adding it to your meals or taking a daily supplement can help you harness its neurogenic properties. By doing so, you’ll support your brain’s ability to generate new neurons, improve your memory, and protect against cognitive decline.

4. Sodium Butyrate
Sodium Butyrate is a fascinating compound when it comes to enhancing neurogenesis. It works through a unique mechanism of action by inhibiting histone deacetylase (HDAC), which leads to increased expression of certain genes involved in neurogenesis. By doing so, it boosts the levels of BDNF and GDNF in the brain.
BDNF and GDNF are critical for the formation and survival of new neurons. BDNF supports the growth and differentiation of new neurons, while GDNF protects and increases the number of dopamine neurons. This combination is powerful for improving both memory and mood. Higher BDNF and GDNF levels can lead to better memory retention and recall, as well as enhanced mood and reduced symptoms of depression.
If you're looking to improve your cognitive function and mood, incorporating Sodium Butyrate into your diet might be beneficial. It’s found in foods like butter, ghee, and certain fermented foods, or you can take it as a supplement.
By boosting neurogenesis and supporting dopamine neurons, Sodium Butyrate can help keep your brain sharp and your mood stable.
5. Ginkgo Biloba
Ginkgo Biloba is an ancient herb known for its brain-boosting properties. The active compounds in Ginkgo Biloba, such as flavonoids and terpenoids, have powerful effects on the brain. These compounds increase levels of BDNF and inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE), an enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter essential for learning and memory.
The increase in BDNF supports neurogenesis, helping to create new neurons and improve overall brain health. By inhibiting AChE, Ginkgo Biloba ensures that acetylcholine levels remain high, which enhances memory and focus. This dual action makes Ginkgo Biloba an excellent supplement for anyone looking to boost their cognitive function.
If you’re interested in trying Ginkgo Biloba, you can find it in various forms, including capsules, tablets, and teas. Regular consumption can help improve memory, increase focus, and support the formation of new neurons, making it a valuable addition to your brain health regimen.
6. Magnesium L-Threonate
Magnesium L-Threonate is a unique form of magnesium that can cross the blood-brain barrier, which is crucial for its effectiveness in enhancing brain health. Unlike other forms of magnesium, Magnesium L-Threonate is specifically designed to enter the brain and increase magnesium levels directly within brain cells.
Higher magnesium levels in the brain lead to increased production of BDNF. BDNF is essential for neurogenesis, as it supports the growth, differentiation, and survival of new neurons.
By boosting BDNF, Magnesium L-Threonate promotes the formation of new neurons, which is vital for maintaining cognitive function, learning, and memory.
If you’re looking to enhance your brain health, consider adding Magnesium L-Threonate to your supplement routine. It’s available in capsule or powder form and can easily be incorporated into your daily regimen.

Role of Exercise in Neurogenesis
Exercise plays a crucial role in enhancing neurogenesis, especially as we age. Research has shown that physical activity can significantly boost the production of new neurons in the brain, even in older adults. This is particularly important because neurogenesis tends to decline with age, leading to cognitive decline and memory issues.
One of the key ways exercise promotes neurogenesis is by changing the composition of immune cells within the brain. Regular physical activity increases the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines. This shift in immune cell composition creates a more favorable environment for neurogenesis, protecting the brain from inflammation-related damage.
Additionally, exercise increases the levels of BDNF, a protein that supports the growth and survival of new neurons. Higher BDNF levels are associated with improved cognitive functions, such as learning and memory. Exercise also enhances the production of other neurotrophic factors that support brain health.
The overall benefits of exercise for brain health are profound. Regular physical activity not only promotes neurogenesis but also improves mood, reduces anxiety, and enhances overall cognitive function. Whether it's walking, running, swimming, or any other form of aerobic exercise, staying active is one of the best things you can do to keep your brain healthy and functioning optimally.
Other Factors Influencing Neurogenesis
Apart from exercise and diet, certain hormones also play a significant role in influencing neurogenesis.
One such hormone is pregnenolone. Pregnenolone is a precursor to various other hormones, including allopregnanolone, which has been shown to have neuroprotective properties.
Allopregnanolone increases neurogenesis by promoting the formation of new neurons and protecting existing ones. It also has powerful anti-inflammatory effects, which are crucial for maintaining a healthy brain environment. By reducing inflammation, allopregnanolone helps create conditions that support neurogenesis and overall brain health.
Additionally, pregnenolone and its derivatives enhance the responses of GABA receptors. GABA is a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in reducing neuronal excitability and promoting relaxation. By boosting GABA receptor responses, pregnenolone helps improve mood, reduce anxiety, and support the formation of new neurons.
As a biochemical precursor to DHEA and progesterone, pregnenolone helps to keep a normal balance between these hormones in the body and as a result, helps to modulate the cortisol-driven stress response system, support nerve cell growth and modulate mood.

2024.06.02 10:56 LastTimeOn_ The Mexican Federal Election, Explained (Part 1)

It’s officially June 2nd, folks, as I'm submitting this. The Big Day is here not chance the rapper’s wedding, the day of the 2024 Mexican federal elections. Both in-country citizens and those living abroad who registered for the process will be voting (at the very least) for the next President of the Mexican Republic, their state’s Senators and their federal Deputies. Depending on the state they live in, there will also be elections for Governor, local Deputies and Mayors. The total number of positions up to a vote is 20,708 spots, across both federal and local elections, the greatest ever in the history of Mexico. Even though it sounds like a cliché, it’s true – the results of this election will determine Mexico’s course for the near future, and some argue for the rest of the country’s existence.

STRUCTURE OF THE MEXICAN FEDERAL SYSTEM
To understand the importance of what’s at stake we have to start with the basics. For right now I’ll focus on the federal side of the election as I think that’s what most want to learn more about (I’ll bring up state-level issues later; they can still affect the result).
The Mexican federal system is tripartite, divided in the usual way – the President is the executive, the Supreme Court being the figurehead for the judicial branch, and Congress through both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate representing the legislative.
The President is elected via FPTP for only one term lasting six years, called a sexenio. There hasn’t been much actual innovation in the process of voting for the President, aside from the notable shifts in voting tendencies every six years since the 2000 election, which ended the 71-year-long run of the PRI in power. The current president is Andrés Manuel López Obrador, or AMLO as he’s commonly known, elected in 2018.
The Senate is composed of 128 senators. 96 of these come from a majority system and 32 are elected via national proportional representation party lists. Of the 96 majority senators, 64 are elected as winning pairs in each of the 32 states, known as the “first and second formulas.” The remaining 32 are the “first minority” winners, in other words the second placers in the Senate elections. This, alongside the PR senators, is supposed to even the playing field for opposition parties. Senate elections are concurrent with presidential ones, also lasting six years, but they are able to be reelected for one term more.
The Chamber of Deputies, meanwhile, is composed of 500 deputies. 300 of these are the FPTP winners of each of the 300 electoral districts nationwide. The other 200 are PR party-list deputies divided between 5 circumscriptions, or at-large districts. These districts are roughly equivalent in population and roughly represent the 5 main regions of the country – western Mexico, headed by Guadalajara, northern Mexico, headed by Monterrey, southeastern Mexico, headed by Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz, south-central Mexico, headed by Mexico City, and southwestern Mexico, headed by Toluca the capital of Mexico State. Deputy elections are every three years; an elected deputy is able to get reelected for three more terms. These reelection changes were set into law with the 2014 political-electoral reform package and came into practice in 2018 for the 2021 elections, the first time any federal-level politician was allowed to run for continuous reelection since the Mexican Revolution.
All these elections are managed by the National Electoral Institute (INE, its acronym in Spanish). The INE is, quite literally, a superpowered FEC – aside from the basic role of taking note of who is campaigning for what, it controls ballot access, it manages campaign ad times on TV to the second, it makes sure that candidates do not say anything that can be out of electoral law, it sets up the format and the broadcasting of debates…it is the reason that Mexican elections flow (relatively) smoothly.
Alongside the INE stand the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) and the OPLEs, the Local Electoral Public Organisms, creating the entire Mexican electoral system. The Tribunal, as you can guess, is where affected parties (in the legal sense) can go dispute any potential circumstance that affects them. During campaign season this is mostly just “candidate X was a meanie to me – candidate Y” type affairs, but post-election its importance ramps up as it helps resolve close calls in elections – something people say will be especially important this time around. The OPLEs are mini-INEs for each of the 32 states, managing the electoral matters of localities and replicating the faculties of the INE for local elections.
The Mexican electoral system is complex out of post-uniparty distress. Before the IFE (the INE’s precursor), elections were handled by a commission under the purview of the Secretary of Government. You can guess where this goes. It was one of the main ways the PRI held power for so long – elections were free but unfair. During the 1990s when the Mexican system liberalized the creation of an independent electoral agency was one of the main goals, and as far as creating the conditions for fair elections, over the five full sexenios it has existed since 1990, I’d say it has generally succeeded.
The main characters of elections, however, are obviously not the institutions, but the political actors themselves through political parties. This election, there’s seven of them at play.
THE PARTIES (AND THEIR COALITIONS)
For the 2024 election, the seven parties running are divided into two main coalitions and one running a single candidate – Fuerza y Corazón por México, composed by the PRI, PAN and PRD, Sigamos Haciendo Historia, with Morena, PVEM and PT, and Movimiento Ciudadano.
Fuerza y Corazón por México (Strength and Heart for Mexico)
The opposition coalition, composed of the National Action Party (PAN), the Revolutionary Institutional Party (PRI), and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). A big-tent coalition, center-left to center-right. Their candidate is former Senator Xóchitl Gálvez.
PAN – The opposition by excellence. Founded in the 40s by a group of lawyers, doctors and other professionals to serve as a balance to the nationalistic policies of the PRI from back then. Due to the Mexican system, it only controlled some municipalities until the election of their first governor in 1989, and from there on, winning the presidency with Vicente Fox in 2000 and repeating with Felipe Calderón in 2006. “Humanistic” according to their doctrine, but conservative according to many you’d ask. More so in the Christian democratic tradition, but their party is still a big tent – from reactionary firebrands like Senator Lilly Téllez to progressive pro-market types like Xóchitl herself.
PRI – The former Mexican dominant party, now a shell of its former self. With 71 years of one-party rule that ended dramatically in 2000, the PRI has shapeshifted over the decades. From standard-bearers of the post-revolutionary cause to nationalistic expropriators, from technocratic liberators to Congressional opposition, from centrist reformers to a second place in this coalition of unequals, it has somehow managed to survive when people announce its demise. With how coalitions are structured in ballots, the desertion of its former clientelist and syndicalist bases to Morena, and the constant kick-outs and self-exiles of politicians who don’t agree with the current party president, however, who knows how many more times the PRI can cheat death before it’s truly over.
PRD – A party that began with a bang and is ending with a whimper. Created from the aftermath of the 1988 election where many believed (and still do) that left-wing candidate Cuauhtemoc Cardenas had his victory stolen, the PRD was, until a few years ago, really a front itself of multiple left-wing groups that constantly squabbled amongst each other. Its main political bastion was Mexico City, where it governed continuously from 1997 to 2018, and southern Mexico in general. Many of its former members and voters moved on to Morena, leaving the party in the hands of a few groups trying to keep it alive. Already it lost its registry in several states, and it’s close to do so nationwide. This might be its last election the PRD runs in.
Sigamos Haciendo Historia (Let’s Keep Making History)
The governing coalition, composed of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), and the Labor Party (PT). Leftist/populist, their candidate is former Mexico City mayor Claudia Sheinbaum.
Morena – AMLO’s personal project, it first started as one of the many groups inside the PRD, only to then spin off when he broke off from that party after the 2012 elections, becoming a civil association in 2013 and officially a party a year later. With AMLO at the forefront, the party got its big break in 2018 by winning the presidency, a majority in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, and several governorships. Only more wins came after that in more states – currently, it holds the governor’s seat in 21 of the 32. Morena’s ideology is…confusing. It can best be described as a populist platform, with a typical class-battle message and lots of focus on marginalized communities of all types. However, it doesn’t really attempt that through typical leftist means, like raising taxes on the wealthy. Instead, it goes for a vaguely Norquistian “starve the beast” method, with the reasoning that governmental and economic power have been connected for too long. Austerity is the name of the game, at least on that end. These saved funds are then channeled to voters through its main policy proposal – social programs. Pensions for old people, student scholarships, disability checks…direct cash transfers and the clientele they bring are what the party’s become best at. Add onto them the syndicalist and rural structures that its brought onto the fold from the PRI and you can see where exactly it’s obtained so much goodwill (and votes) from.
Green Party (PVEM) – The most questionable party in a political scene already filled with questionable actors, the Green Party can be summed up in one word – controversy. Founded by a former PRI member in 1986, it limped along until somehow in the 90s it started getting votes. After that, it found its calling – being the willing coalition partner for any party that needs votes. In 2000 it aligned with the PAN to help elect Fox, from 2003 to 2018 it was in a long relationship with the PRI, and in 2019 it became a proud Morena ally. Over the years, it has championed such pro-environment proposals as: burning trash to generate electricity, giving medicine vouchers to families, and the death penalty! Wait a minute, weren’t these guys green? Ehhhh…the founder’s son once said that “they represented interests, not the ecology,” and the European Greens outright stripped the party its official designation of Being Green (TM). Aside from that, they’re known for a small scandal of TV celebrities being spokespeople for them in movie theater ads, a small scandal of an unauthorized resort development in Cancun, a small scandal of a murder of a Bulgarian model in a party…the Greens have been called “the worst of the worst” in Mexican politics. Rightfully so?
Labor Party (PT) – The PT is a party that, to be quite frank with y’all, dear readers, I don’t understand how (or to be more precise, why) it still exists. Formed in 1990 by a group of various left-wing and agrarian organizations, the PT has a typical leftist-socialist ideology, but never much actual presence nationally aside from being the coalition partner of the PRD or Morena. It’s tried running its own candidates for governors, but they never went anywhere – all its governorships have been as part of a coalition. It’s also only ever had its own presidential candidate once, in 1994 with Cecilia Soto – she obtained 4th place with a little less than a million votes. It has never been a highly voted party – in deputy elections, the most it obtained was in the 2009 midterms with about 3.7% of the vote. Last midterm, it reached 1.14%. It already escaped the loss of its registry in 2015 thanks to the goodwill of the PRD and MC in annulling an election. Who knows if it can this time?
Finally, there's Movimiento Ciudadano, with Jorge Álvarez Máynez as their candidate.
Movimiento Ciudadano (Citizens’ Movement) – Originally Convergencia in 1999, MC describes itself as social-democratic. They're a more modern left compared to the governing coalition, showing throughout the years proposals on urbanism, federalism, and a focus on GSMs. While for most of its existence it was another minor party that’d run in alliance with the PRD, MC shook up the scene in 2018 by winning the governorship and most municipalities in the state of Jalisco with Enrique Alfaro, followed by the 2021 meme-based winning campaign of Samuel García in Nuevo León. Samuel’s specifically set the tone for how MC would start running – flashy campaigns with candidates boasting about them being “the new politics” (debatable). Right now, the party is at an important fork, depending on how its first-ever homegrown presidential candidate Máynez does. If he reaches a good percentage of votes, MC will have the chance to be kingmaker in Congress, setting themselves up in a good position for the next elections. But if too many voters decide to go for one of the coalitions, the decision to run solo might accidentally have been the party’s downfall.

Sorry for submitting this way too late – I was getting distracted all day lol. I’ll write a second part tomorrow (or I guess, later today?) with how we got here based on recent history, the candidate running and the polls. Either Monday or Tuesday I’ll write an aftermath post based on the results. To all my Mexican friends, happy voting, and to everybody else, thanks for sticking around til the end.

2024.06.02 10:27 Goofiestgoober2024 What do I do with a friend group I have mixed feelings about

I have been hanging around with this group for almost 2 years and I don't know what to do with them anymore. The reason I say my feelings about them are mixed as that I have had good times with them in the past couple of months but most of those times lately haven't been that enjoyable for me. They have said a bunch of stuff to me such as slurs, saying that the group would be much better if I wasn't around, and have said some stuff about my family situation with separated parents. They always use the excuse of it being a joke but they say it so much that I am starting to believe that what they say about me is what they actually think about me. I also feel like I can't really be myself and talk about my interests like music because they think it's weird how much I like it plus I am afraid to start an argument or whatever. I just need some advice, thanks for reading this mla format paragraph tho and is nice to meet all of y'all here.

2024.06.02 08:57 Prakash127_0_0_1 LLM doesn't include the context from the vector database, and hence the frontend gets the generic response. The second run, which includes the context, produces the desired output but doesn't reach the frontend.

I am creating a chatbot for my portfolio website. I am using Next.js, OpenAI API, Vercel AI SDK, Langchain and AstraDB.
As I hit request my route, LLM runs twice. The first run of LLM contains no context that I provided and the answer is just simple with no information of mine. But the second run contains the context I provided from the AstraDb vector database and I get what I want.
For example: I write 'who are you', the first answer is 'I am a language model AI designed to assist with answering questions and engaging in conversation. How can I help you today?' and the second answer is 'I am Prakash Banjade.........'.
But on the frontend, I get the first answer which is not relevant.
Here's my code:
// route.ts
import { ChatOpenAI } from '@langchain/openai';
import { createStreamDataTransformer, LangChainAdapter, StreamingTextResponse, Message as VercelChatMessage, } from 'ai'
import { AIMessage, HumanMessage } from "@langchain/core/messages";

import { UpstashRedisCache } from "@langchain/community/caches/upstash_redis";
import { Redis } from "@upstash/redis";
import { createStuffDocumentsChain } from "langchain/chains/combine_documents";
