2024.06.01 13:25 Madrasta28 Graduate of pharma pero naging marketer tapos gusto magaral ulit

TLDR?
Retail, manuf, clinical. Tapos sahod 18-23k way back 2020 pa to pandemic.
I don't know what the freak I'm gonna do with my life. Dream school ko UP and kahit anong course willing ako pero gusto ko pa rin related sa mga experience ko na.
May chance pa ba ko? Iniisip ko magmasters nalang ng pharma para sa passion ko kaso inaalala ko baka wala na kong way makapasok sa UP. At baka wala ring matinong career nagaantay sakin.
Kundi ko man mapursue yung passion ko willing ako magmarketing or business ad courses (may plan din ako magtayo ng business and gusto ko maggain ng network) pwede rin computer science (mamaw mga to sa freelancing kasi x2 or more ung mga offers na nakikita ko).
So ayun may chance pa ba ko masters man or mag-aral ulit ng bago if gusto ko magUP? Note: nagtake na ko UPCAT nung 2012. Nganga.

2024.06.01 13:08 lapislapislapislapis I only stopped reaching developmental milestones in puberty and mostly with non physical things.

Ive been doing some research about autism and been seeing that not reaching developmental milestones is a sign of autism. I did fine as a toddler and baby I learned to speak, walk, crawl all that stuff at the right age and I got everything right till around 5th grade. I hit puberty there, my body definitely developed very fast but my mind didn't completely catch up I had problems with understanding concepts, math, being able to talk correctly, and speech as in things like saying my s' wrong. And at the time i could barely do anything that was expected of me at the age that others could like reading clocks and tying shoes. Is this also a symptom?

2024.06.01 13:05 abw4477 Limits to uploaded images in paid version

I am a teacher and have been very impressed with ChatGPTs ability to “read” handwritten free response questions (I upload an image), grade them and provide feedback when fed a scoring guideline. The free version has a limit to how many image uploads you can upload. Does the paid version have a limit to how many image uploads I can put in in a given time period?

2024.06.01 13:04 Impressive-Rope7858 Am I qualified ?

I’m seeking the input of those of you who have some insight about whether I would be qualified to teach in a particular role. Here are my qualifications and what I’m interested in teaching. Any input greatly appreciated!
Qualifications: I have BS and MS degrees in Computer Science. I worked in the high tech industry in Fortune 500 companies for 36 years as a software engineer and then a software engineering manager. I taught an introductory computer programming course in graduate school nine times. In that teaching role, I was fully responsible for the class on my own and had no discernible oversight at all. I completed Calculus, Differential Equations and Probability and Statistics classes as an undergrad, all with “A” grades. I currently am an elementary school substitute teacher, which entails actual teaching some of the time.
Interest: I’m interested in teaching an Algebra class at a Community College. A lower level math class than Algebra would be fine as well. Note that I’m really not interested in teaching a programming or software engineering class, since for 40 years that was my focus and I’d like a change of pace if possible at this point.
Should I apply for such positions, or am I really not qualified?
Thanks again for any input.

Is starting from the bottom and slowly making my way up worth it?
Hi, I’m (18) not 100% sure on what degree I should get and right now Electronic/Electrical engineering looks intriguing.
However, my skills for engineering rn? Not good. Never cared much for science (don’t hate it though) but I started to like math and am currently self-studying college algebra on the track to trig, pre-calc then calculus.
One path I’ve thought of doing is going into my college’s “upgrading program” (learning grade 12 equivalents of whatever you want for free) for 1 or 2 years to learn more math (and maybe some other subjects with it) and get in the calculus levels, then take a reduced course-load of 3 or 4 out of the 6 required engineering courses each semester and completing my bachelor in 6-8 years which I’m totally ok with being in school for that long (I’m living rent free btw so cost isn’t a concern) Any input helps, thank you.

2024.06.01 12:48 Adamantaimai The math behind stacking mitigation: they don't actually offer diminishing returns

It is commonly believed that stacking mitigation abilities is bad because they offer less value as you use multiple at the same time. The reason for this would be that mitigation stacks multiplicatively. Meaning that if you have a 30% mitigation active, the damage you take is multiplied by 0.7, if you have a 20% mitigation active the damage you take is multiplied by 0.8. But if you use both of them at the same time the damage you take is multiplied by both 0.7 and 0.8 = 0.56. So you take 44% reduced damage instead of the 50% you would get if they would stack additively. Combined they reduce less damage than they would if they were both used seperately.
If that is true then don't they actually DO offer diminishing returns?
When you look at single instances of damage that you will survive regardless, such as tank busters, they do infact offer less value when combined. However if there is nothing else to use them on then you should probably use them anyway, as leaving them unused is the worst value you can get. I would still not label this as diminishing returns, however. To me diminishing returns would indicate that the actual damage multipliers would change rather than that they're stacked multiplicatively.
But when it comes to the total amount of pre-mitigated damage you can take before you die, something interesting happens. For this example, assume a tank has 100.000 HP and takes 1000 damage per hit without mitigation. Below is a table that shows how many hits the tank can take before dying.
Mitigation active Damge per hit Hits until KO
None 1000 100
20% 800 125
30% 700 142.86
20% + 30% 560 178.57
As you can see, the 20% mit allows you to take 25 more hits, the 30% mit allows you to take 42.86 more hits, but together they allow you to take 78.57 more hits, which is greater than the sum of 25 and 42.86. This is not only limited to taking many small hits, it works the same way for the highest possible amount of damage you can take from a tankbuster before dying. And the more you reduce your damage taken the more significant healing becomes. Smaller healing over time like Kardia, Aurora, Holy Sheltron and such will keep you alive by themselves if you have enough damage reduction.
Why does it work this way?
Simply put, the higher your current damage reduction is the more significant any further reduction will be to the amount of pre-mitigated damage you can take. If you have no mitigation active and gain 10% then you take 10% less damage. If you have 50% mitigation active and another 10% you take 20% less damage than before. If you have 85% mitigation and gain another 10% you take 67% less damage than before.
So how to use them efficiently?
Despite them not offering diminishing returns you should still not use them all at once of course. However the least effective mitigation is the mitigation you leave unused. If you know you won't need more mits after the next pack of mobs you can use 2 or 3 at the same time. Ideally you would spread it out in a way that you don't leave any unused but don't need to tank any serious damage without mitigation either. This can be a bit of a learning experience.
Tl;dr
When you stack muliple mitigations, each one reduces less damage than if you were to use them seperately. However when it comes to the amount of damage you survive, multiple mitigations actually amplify each other and provide an exponential increase to your survivability. Mitigate responsibly in a way that you won't run out when you need it but don't be scared to have multiple running at once if the situation calls for it.
\Tanks always have 20% mitigation active through their level 1 tank trait, and have more defense and magic defense. This does not really change anything for the math posted here as these are always active. But the conclusion of this post also applies: any mitigation on a tank will reduce less damage than the same mitigation will for a DPS or healer. But it also increases the total amount of damage monsters will need to do to kill tanks by more than the damage needed to kill a DPS or a healer.*

2024.06.01 12:40 JingleBelle21 My grades got exposed by my professor

Hello [F19] I’m a first year student studying BSN. As you’ve seen in the title my professor embarrassed me sa buong klase through our GC. While explaining how to compute the GWA, pinakita niya ung grades ko from prelim to general average. He told me pa na I should study how to compute my grades and basic math lang daw un. Tatanong ko ba kung alam ko? Ang sus kasi ng mga grade naming lahat. So ayun, he disrespected me in front of everyone. I replied to him ng maayos kasi kahit katiting may respeto pa ako sakanya. Gusto niya akong i-meet with my parent/s. I’m ok with that, wala akong maling sinabi. Kung babastusin niya ulit ako, ibabalik ko sakanya.
Nagsabi ako sa Dean abt dun and kakausapin niya raw.
Any advice or legal things to say if ever???? I just exercised my right to ask question. Btw, Hes a Licence Nurse and clearly he doesn’t understand what confidentiality is.

2024.06.01 12:37 Old_Independent7254 Thorough plan is needed for August exam

I am an international student, currently studying in 10th grade. Today I took my first ever exam just as an experiment to feel the atmosphere there. I am not expecting more than 1450, ig around 1400-1420. My super score is 1470 from practice tests is (EBWR: 690, Math: 780). I am planning to take the test in August and I need to take at least 1500. I have a whole summer ahead, so detailed plan is needed to accomplish my goal. I almost have completed Panda 400 vocab words. Did 4 practice tests. Completed erica's writing and reading. Completed all khan academy english and math and that book with 300 questions for verbal part. I also did some of the sqbs. I did not prepare that much for Math though. I focused more on my english. Now it is around 650-680. I have to improve it to 750. For math, i have to beat 800 in every test. Thank you in advance!

2024.06.01 12:35 Left-Finding6540 It's now June, I'm looking to make a thread of last minute tips, if anyone has any last minute tips for any subjects I'll add them

English: for section 1 question a on paper 1 use pqe, point quote explain, nake one point use a quote to back it up and explain, leave extra space after each point incase you have extra time to spend on it
Question b of that same question make sure if you write the text of a speech the whole text is said speech and if you have to for example write the text of a speech from a famous person you never step out of character. Your opening line should be basically a rephrasing of the question eg:write an article for the local newspaper, you should say "I am writing for the x newspaper to tell you about...", even if its unrealistic they still look for this in regard to your purpose mark.
For the composing:make sure there are famous people you can talk about a lot, also just a few topics that youve got some bit of knowledge on e.g ai might be handy
personal essay: use anecdotes even if they're made up
Short story:I'm avoiding this personally but make sure you show don't tell and alsondont leave plot holes, from what I've heard people who do this already have things like settings, characters and storylines planned out before the exam
Opinion essay: chose for or against and be strongly for or against, if im not mistaken you can be neutral but it's a lot harder
For the single text your first quote shouldn't be from act 1 scene 1 or your texts equivalent, your answer shouldn't be a summary
For hamlet: have lots of quotes, back in as many points as possible with quotes, remember the word regicide and antic-disposition, if the question asks about Claudius' role as villain if must only be his direct wrong doings (laertes, elder hamlet) and not the ones he indirectly caused by making hamlet mad (ophelia, polonius etc).
Comparative:constantly compare your 3 texts,(this next tip only applies if parf of your comparative course is never let me go) MOST of the time if you are doing the question 1 which is split up into a and b where a is in relation to 1 text and b is 2, never let me go will be in part a as it is hard to compare to other texts, this obviously depends on the question but if in doubt do that
Unseen poetry:I'm absolutely useless at this but on my mock I completely misunderstood the poem and got 17/20, waffle with confidence, don't spend too long on it as 20 marks is sweet fa in your English paper and the difference between spending 20 mins and 25 mins is no more than 3 marks.
Poetry: have one poem you can talk for days about no matter what, they will more than likely come up. Have 3 more you understand to be able to answer a question, then your perfectly covered. If you want to be more confident you can learn 2 poems to perfect 50/50 but from here to Thursday time management is important
History: if your a slow writer like me learn a metric fuck tonne of good quotes they're the quickest way to pick up marks, here's a few if you want them
Oh little sputnik flying high/with made-in-moscow-beep/you show the world its a commie sky/and uncle Sam's asleep-mennen Williams, democratic governor of michigan
The United States would provide political, military and economic assistance to all democratic nations under threat from external and internal forces-the turman doctrine
We are kings men and well be with you to the end -james Craig (not precisely a long one but so many essays it could be used in)
I want dr king to know that I didn't come to selma to make his job difficult, I really did come thinking I could make it easier. If the white people realise what the alternative is, perhaps they will be more willing to here dr king-malcolm x
Geography: from here to friday dedicate 10 minutes to aerial photography, it's 8 marks waiting to be claimed. Nows probably too late for flashcards but if it isn't fucking use them for srps
Maths: nows not too late to print off a mock or past paper, see what needs the most work and make sure you fully understand them
Irish: if your like me and haven't done a scratch there's still more than a week, predictions are your best friend, learn one essay, one poetry notes, one story notes and one play notes and let God decide how well he wants you to do
French:be able to write about the Olympics as if your fluent, its probably going to come up. Know your tenses and your subjunctive. Learn off a few proverbs they add marks to any essay. "Je suis tout à fait d'accord avec le declaration Ci dessus","il est neccesaire de pesser le pour et le contre", "n'oublions pas le proverbe" and "a Mon avis" fit into most opinion pieces, know them(get correct spelling aswel mine was affected by autocorrect). Also if your down to the wire learn diary phrased, even if you write a bad diary you will get marks for the phrases
Accounting: final accounts will come up,know 2/3, learn all your ratios and all the theory they will come up, know either budgeting or costing as one of each will come up, that leaves the second 100 marker, it will most likely be suspense as that comes up every second year but it could be a 60 marker, I wouldn't even bother worrying about anything else until ratios, final accounts, budget/costing and suspense are up to the grade your hoping for but if all that is sorted learn off maybe 3 other possible 100 markers, that any you have 4 which includes the 80% likely suspense and 2 will come up, the accounting exam is probably the easiest to predict, and for the love of God know your theory. Keep doing exam questions of your struggling, every time you correct one write down your mistakes and have the list of mistakes next to you when doing the next one, then tear it and make a new list of mistakes
Buisness(salty I couldn't do it cuz it was on same time as history): know unit 1-3 inside out (according to u/businessgarbage6666)
This is all my experience, I will add any good advice for these subject or other subjects that are provided in the comments, all of these are for higher level except for maths, good luck, don't panic and think about the pint that's instore once this is all over

I recently got my hands on the Denix Replicas 1081 Walther P. 38 Automatic Pistol and I have to say, it's a real treat for history enthusiasts! The detailed recreation of this iconic WWII weapon is impressive, and it's not just for show. It's heavier than one might expect, which gives it a solid feel in the hand. The pistol-like click of the slide and the smoothness of the mechanism make it a joy to handle, even if it's not fireable.
However, there are some minor drawbacks, like the fact that the slide doesn't lock back and the magazine can't be removed. But considering this is a replica for display purposes rather than practical use, it's not much of a hindrance. It's a conversation starter and a great way to add a piece of history to your collection.

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hands on this book, "The Colt M1911 . 45 Automatic Pistol: M1911, M1911A1, Markings, Variants, Ammunition, Accessories [Book]". Being a gun enthusiast, I was eager to dive into the world of this iconic pistol.
What stood out to me was the detailed information on the M1911's design, manufacturing, and testing. The book takes you on a journey through its combat use in various wars, with more than 370 images that provide a visual breakdown of the weapon. The serial numbers list and the visuals of the weapon's markings were particularly fascinating.
The section on accessories like magazines, ammunition, holsters, and cleaning kits was a nice touch, adding to the overall comprehensive nature of the book. I found the combat-related uniform and equipment items to be of special interest.
However, one drawback I encountered was the inconsistency in the captions of some photos. I was expecting a more complete reference on some of the markings and stampings. Despite this, the book still managed to impress me with its wealth of data and images.
Despite its relatively short length, "The Colt M1911 . 45 Automatic Pistol: M1911, M1911A1, Markings, Variants, Ammunition, Accessories [Book]" is a must-have for anyone interested in the history and development of this legendary firearm. The high-quality images and detailed information make it a valuable addition to any library.

The Ed Brown 1911 housing is a fine example of the dedication to precision and quality that makes this brand stand out. As a seasoned gun enthusiast, I've come to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that goes into crafting these firearms. With this product, I especially noticed the superior components and expert machining that made the gun feel smooth and well-balanced. The mag well housing, in particular, added an element of sophistication to my 1911 replica.
While the Ed Brown 1911 housing is an excellent choice for those seeking top-notch performance, there are a few potential downsides to consider. One is the price point, which may be prohibitive for some users. Additionally, while the housing is designed for durability, it's essential to take proper care of it to ensure its longevity. All in all, the Ed Brown 1911 housing is an exceptional product that delivers on promises of quality and craftsmanship.

🔗Antique 1911 Replica Manual: Ascar War Department Automatic Pistol, Caliber.45

This "Basic Field Manual" is a fascinating look into the history of the United States War Department Automatic Pistol, Caliber. 45 M1911 and M1911a1, providing a unique insight into the mechanics and usage of these iconic weapons. Despite being a facsimile reprint, the book offers an authentic experience, with its antiquated charm showcasing imperfections like marks, notations, and marginalia. The pocket-sized field manual, measuring at 9 inches in length and just a quarter inch thick, is perfect for on-the-go reference.
The language is crisp and clear, making it easy for anyone to understand the intricate details of the pistols. It also comes with detailed diagrams, which make it easier to visualize the workings of the weapon. Although the book's condition might not be ideal, the information it provides is invaluable for any collector or history enthusiast.
Overall, this "Basic Field Manual" might be flawed in appearance, but it's well worth the read for anyone fascinated by history or military firearms.

🔗World War I and II Era 1911 Webley Revolver Replica

As a history buff, I was drawn to the Denix Webley Revolver replica, with its ties to the Indiana Jones movies. The first thing that struck me was its weight, which made it feel like a real gun. The details were incredibly accurate, right down to the checkered grip and the engraving on the barrel.
However, I found it a bit disappointing that the break-open action didn't work. It may be a minor issue for some, but for me, it took away a bit of the authenticity.
Nevertheless, it's a great display piece and does justice to its historical origins.

🔗Patriotic 1911 Replica Model with Blue Pattern Grips

This "Uncle Sam" miniature model is an incredible tribute to the USA, perfect for those who want to show their patriotism. As I slowly started putting the pieces together, I found the assembly process to be surprisingly easy and enjoyable. The 1:2.5 scale model is a fantastic representation of the iconic 1911 pistol, with authentic features such as working thumb safety, slide actions, and magazine release.
The model's realistic design caught my attention right away, from its Old Glory Blue pattern grips to the intricate details on the closed barrel. It's clear that the creators paid attention to every aspect of the gun, ensuring that this replica is as accurate as possible. However, the hard-to-find bullets might be a minor inconvenience for some users.
Overall, I'm impressed by the quality and attention to detail of this miniature 1911 USA tribute model. It's a unique and fun addition to any collection, and the ease of assembly is a big plus.

2024.06.01 12:06 Avondran Neuropsych testing came back negative [24F]

Tried to post in the ADHD subreddit but my post wasn’t working for some reason so here I am 😊
Hello everyone, I’m very sad and frustrated because my ADHD evaluation came back negative. I got neuropsychological testing done and he suggested I have persistent depressive disorder and anxiety. I don’t feel like I’m depressed since I still enjoy things I like to do. The thing is that I’ve been on anxiety meds but they made me feel numb so I got off of them. I still could only hold on to my job for a year as a special ed teacher with a mental health break (fmla). So when I explained to my doctor I think there’s something else going on she just gave me a different anxiety med. I loved working with special needs kids but everything else made it hell. My therapist said it’s because I was a teache fast food worker only so I haven’t had a chance to find a job I like. Fair but I also struggled in college: constantly being late and almost dropping out even though I think I’m smart.
As a kid I daydreamed and was buried in books. I had a hard time making friends and was very shy and anxious but was gifted. Social anxiety has gotten better as an adult but I still feel like I never fit in. I have to write everything down or I will forget it, I hate getting ready in the morning for work and want to do stuff but it’s hard for me to get myself to do it. I fixate on foods in cycles it’s really weird and didn’t understand until I learned about adhd. I have sensory issues but don’t know if that is an adhd thing. I can obsess over certain things and then get bored super quickly. I had a job as a 5th grade teacher and quit within 2 weeks because I was so overstimulated and could not for the life of me figure out how I was going to execute these lessons and be organized for grading of 28 kids.
I bite my nails until they are bleeding and also have a hard time concentrating on driving and my online schooling. I find the everyday tasks of getting ready, working and then coming home and cleaning and cooking takes so much effort. My working memory was in the 23rd percentile while everything else was average. But he said it was my anxiety affecting my working memory. Two of my sisters have ADHD. I’m so tired of being dismissed by everybody. Im not trying to self diagnose and maybe i am just lazy or have something else. Maybe C-PTSD? All I know is that I need help. I mask and seem normal to everyone in my life, so maybe I am making everything up. Sorry for the long rant. Should I get a second opinion or do all my symptoms sound like depression? Please be nice I am sensitive lol.

2024.06.01 12:05 Gait07 IB question

To give you a context, I have for SL: math AA, german B, english AA and for HL: Chem, Bio and Physch
In my first semester I got 40/42 with only 6 in chem and english and second term 41/42 with all 7's execpt English. During the easter holidays I did not get the chance to study as much as I did in my semesters and my confidence was really low. In my mock exams, I have already written chem and math AA, and I think they did not go really well and I'm so sad because I had such good grades in the previous months. Now I'm studying for english and I feel so down and unmotivated to do anything. What should I do ?

2024.06.01 12:05 shenanigans197 Communication with LD primary partner when they're with other partners

Hello! I've read a few posts on this topic on here but I'm also curious to people's thoughts about my specific situation.
For a little context, my primary partner (I'll call them X) and I are in a long distance relationship and have been for 6 years. We have an 8 hour time difference so are only in communication for about half of our awake hours (my evenings, their mornings). A couple of years ago we began to explore being poly. This was motivated by the fact that X has more sex and intimacy needs and has much more physically open friendships and wanted to explore a more free and open way to engage with the people they interact with, all of which I'm fully on board with. I haven't explored other relationships myself, not for any reason other than I am a demisexual autistic and I haven't met anyone I would like to pursue anything with and I don't have the same needs for physical or emotional intimacy outside of my relationship with X (I have my close intimate friendships and I love my alone time). But as you can imagine, navigating imbalances around time and contact has been tricky. I have also struggled a little with the social expectations around X's relationships, as they say they aren't necessarily dating, or in partnership with their other relationships, but it's more that they have deep friendships with deep physical and sexual intimacy. (Unfortunately my brain needs structure, detail and specifics in order to feel comfortable in knowing how is appropriate to socially engage). For example we don't really have a term to describe their other relationships (I'll use meta here).
This brings me to the situation that when X is with Meta's they would ideally like me to continue to engage in communication the same way we always do (specifically messaging throughout the day. We usually reserve cold calling each other at times we know the other is likely free) as they don't feel their communication is any different than when they are busy with general life stuff, hanging out with friends etc. However, my experience is that communication is significantly different when they are spending time with Metas (which makes sense to me as they are wanting to spend time with that person and are focused on them during that time). The problem is if I am messaging them as usual and then getting distracted responses or no responses for much longer periods of time and outside of our usual routine I find it hyper-focuses my attention on this change of routine in an unhelpful way. I start to feel more "bothered" than I usually would from lack of responses. Which is an internal response I feel uncomfortable with personally, as it's not a response that aligns with my values or usual feelings around contact and expectations. I find I'm checking my phone more to see if they've responded or not and it becomes distracting. Or they'll message me if the social activity they are at isn't super engaging to them and if it is super engaging I get no contact. Now, I am addressing the personal insecurity or lack of security this actually might just be highlighting for me so I can process that. However, it still seems to be breeding this feeling of imbalance and lack of security. It seems to bring up this feeling of 'X is free to have their needs met with Metas but my time is my time and they don't necessarily get to have my undivided attention during those times, or seek me out when they need something from me and otherwise I hear nohing' which doesn't feel good to me and feels like a toxic mindset. (This whole process has highlighted a deep rooted feeling of being "used" due to my past experiences with people, and that has definitely been an eye opener lol)
I was curious if anyone else experiences or has experienced something similar and how they navigated it? Because I am struggling with these thought patterns and struggling to find a constructive way to work through it.
Currently my feelings at the moment is that when X is spending time with Meta's they are spending time with their relationships and I have my own time to spend how I would like to (other than morning/goodnight texts). My partner is worried that this is leaning too much on avoidance and that it will create disconnect in our relationship (as maintaining connection is often a struggle with a LDR).

2024.06.01 12:05 Robbbiii_ Help?

Im not an engineering student. I’m a year 11 (UK) who’s looking to do engineering in the future. However i have a question about the courses potentially required to study it in uni. I’m looking to do mechanical engineering in university, and the university i want to do it at only really specifies maths as a needed requirement (a grade B or above). The courses i’ve chosen for college are Art, History, Maths and Physics, however the college i want to go to also offers Engineering. Would anyone recommend i change my courses or anything? I’m unwilling to give up art as it’s the one things i’ve wanted to do in college, however i’d gladly take advice.

2024.06.01 12:02 Glitter_Goth Physics bullies

I posted here in good faith a while ago, and I was really excited to be learning about quantum physics for the first time at 38 as a woman.
The responses I received were so mean, snarky, and cynical.
Obviously, I cried (healthy, normal response to undeserved cruelness) and felt embarrassed to be so excited to learn.
Good, earnest people exist. That is like learning. Perhaps think before responding on a thread labeled “askphysics” if you are so disenchanted with the field that you'd crush a new learner.
Oh, and my IQ (for those that implied I was dumb) is 135 as of 3rd grade , so maybe not a big ole Einstein.. but smart enough to appreciate physics? I wasn't trying to disprove centrifical force ;) or anything.
I'm sorry you lost your joy in physics, but I relate as I lost my joy in being a therapist. Maybe get into psychology? We can swap? We could certainly use some analytical minds there... maybe you guys could therapize the software engineers because I sure didn't have the magic touch w them.
Anyway…we could try being nice to the “14 year olds” in age and in heart. I'm tired of being cynical and depressed personally. World’s on fire, I'm trying out chaotic and illogically hopeful for a while. Feel free to join.

When I took it out on my next hunting expedition, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight, at just 3.8 oz, it didn't burden my carbine. Moreover, I appreciated the convenience of a lithium cell 3V battery that could last up to 20 hours. However, one drawback I did experience during the cold hunting nights was its tendency to drain the battery power faster when temperatures dropped.
In terms of durability, it held up well but the lens, being exposed to the elements, could use a protective casing. Despite this minor flaw, the MKS Laser Kit was a practical and fun addition to my hunting adventures, serving as a reliable guide for a clean kill.

The Viridian E Series Grn LSR Taurus GX4 has been a lifesaver in my everyday concealed carry routine. The laser sight is so convenient, and it makes targeting a breeze. The ambidextrous on/off button and the 5-minute auto shut off feature adds extra safety measures that I appreciate.
One of my favorite aspects of this product is the durability. I've had it for a while now, and it still works like new. However, I've noticed that sometimes the laser can be difficult to see in bright sunlight, which can be a little frustrating.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Viridian E Series Grn LSR Taurus GX4 to anyone in the market for a high-quality crossbow laser sight. It's a reliable and convenient product that has become an essential part of my daily routine.

I recently gave the IRAYUSA InfiRay ILR-1000-2 LSR RF a try for my hunting adventures, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. This little guy seamlessly integrates with my HYBRID Series thermal weapon sights via USB-C, providing real-time range data and a firing solution on a custom drop-compensating reticle. It's like having a personal laser rangefinder and ballistic solver all in one compact, lightweight package.
One feature that stood out to me was the ease of use, even with gloves on. The Picatinny Quick-Detach Mount and simplified controls make it a breeze to operate, even in low-light conditions. Plus, the rugged 6061 aluminum construction ensures durability and waterproofing, so I can trust it to perform in any weather.
The only downside I've experienced so far is the need for a USB-C cable to power and data transfer, which can be a hassle when you're in the middle of a hunt. But overall, the InfiRay ILR-1000-2 LSR RF has significantly improved my accuracy and confidence when it comes to long-range shooting. Highly recommended for any serious hunter or shooter.

🔗David White Digital Laser Sight Theodolite for Precise Angle Measurement

The David White 5-Second Optical Sight Digital Theodolite with Laser Plummet has been a game changer for me when it comes to sighting and alignment. The laser beam built into the aperture makes for easy and accurate alignment, and the simple push button functions provide precise LCD digital readouts. I especially appreciate the incremental encoding detection system with dual digital displays and the automatic power shut-off feature.
However, one minor drawback I've experienced is that the coaxial tangent and clamp screws could use some improvement in terms of ease of use in sighting and alignment. The built-in battery pack is a great addition, but I wish the process of attaching and detaching it was a bit smoother. Despite these minor setbacks, the product's water-resistant, sealed construction has been a saving grace, ensuring that it can withstand various weather conditions. Overall, the David White 46-D8897 5-Sec. Laser Sight Digital Theodolite with Optical Plummet DT8-05LS has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for sighting and alignment during my daily use.

Buyer's Guide

When considering a 1911 laser sight, there are several general features and considerations to take into account. These factors can help you make the best decision when selecting a model that suits your needs and preferences. Some of the key factors include brightness, style, durability, battery life, and mounting options.

Style and Aesthetics

Aesthetics and style are subjective, but some people may prefer one particular appearance over another. Choose a model that aligns with your preferences or the existing style of your 1911 handgun. Some laser sight options are designed to blend seamlessly with the handgun, while others may have more eye-catching designs.

Durability

A durable laser sight is essential for long-term use. Look for models that are constructed with high-quality materials, such as aircraft-grade aluminum or stainless steel. These materials can withstand wear and tear, making them more resistant to damage and corrosion.

Battery Life

Battery life is another important factor to consider, especially if you plan to use the laser sight extensively. Choose a model with a long battery life to minimize the need for frequent battery replacements. Some laser sights have rechargeable batteries, while others use disposable batteries.

Mounting Options

The mounting options of a 1911 laser sight are crucial for its compatibility with your handgun. Ensure that the mounting system you choose is compatible with your model of 1911. Common mounting options include dovetail, rear sight, and Picatinny rail. Consider the ease of installation and removal if you plan to switch between different mounting options.

🔗Comfortable 1911 Inside Waistband Holster for Threaded Barrels

https://preview.redd.it/7pi8efn5kx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=474eb0fdecb6ec685511d00a9b6e8d0a7e1d2700
C&G's Covert IWB holster quickly became a staple in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was the solid feel of the Kydex material. It's a bit heavier than some other holsters I've tried, but this adds to the confidence that my firearm is securely held in place. The open bottom design is a game-changer - it fits threaded barrels and compensators like a glove, and offers compatibility with most RMRed Dots on the market. I particularly appreciate the customization options available for fit and attachment, which make it a perfect match for my carry needs.
The slight discomfort I've experienced while wearing the Covert IWB holster is the only downside I've noticed. After wearing it for a few hours, I feel a bit of pressure on my hip. It's not unbearable, but it is worth mentioning. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives, and I highly recommend this holster to anyone in the market for an IWB 1911 holster.

🔗Carry Comfortably with Versacarry's Quality 1911 Holster

https://preview.redd.it/8euk7z86kx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=687e8a7de1de4289ed9723de97ca78137e8f2939
Last week, I had an interesting experience with the Versacarry Compound holster. I was at the range, trying to practice with my 1911, when I realized my holster wasn't the greatest for my needs. So, I swapped it for this one, and let me tell you - it's been a game changer.
First off, the material is premium water buffalo leather. It's softer than most plastic holsters but holds up better against wear and tear. Plus, it has a raised protective backing and metal inlay for extra rigidity. It's like having a little bodyguard for your gun.
I also appreciate the fit. This right-handed holster fits my 1911 perfectly, and it's comfortable to wear. It hugs my waist just right, without digging into my side. Now, practicing at the range is a breeze, as I can focus on my aim, instead of fidgeting with my holster.
The stitching is industrial-grade bonded nylon thread, so you know it's made to last. But don't just take my word for it - Versacarry even made sure it's made in the USA.
However, there are a few things I'd like to point out. The holster is only compatible with certain handguns, and I had to return my first one because it didn't fit my pistol correctly. Also, if you're using it for open carry, it might be a bit too conspicuous for my liking. Lastly, there were a couple of minor issues with the holster's design, but it didn't affect the overall experience.
In conclusion, the Versacarry Compound holster has become my daily sidekick at the range. Its quality, comfort, and ease of use make it a versatile and reliable partner for my 1911. And with a rating of 3.9, it seems other users have also had similar experiences.

🔗Comfortable Chest-Mounted 1911 Holster for Maximum Support

https://preview.redd.it/y3itcciakx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd0a9ab8ce6ebfd30961bec3a52986fdbdffa419
I recently had the chance to try out the Crossbreed Chest Rig Holster for my 1911-Founders, and let me tell you, it's a breath of fresh air when it comes to holding on to heavier pistols. The holster's thick leather backer provides excellent support, while the soft suede lining ensures that it's always comfy against the body.
What really sets this holster apart is the multiple points of retention adjustment. You can really make it work for you, thanks to the three different straps. The adjustability makes it a perfect fit, no matter how your body is built.
While some might argue that the holster might be a bit too noticeable for everyday carry, I've been genuinely impressed with its performance and versatility. It's definitely worth considering when you're looking for a reliable chest rig for your firearm.

🔗Eco Leather Concealed Carry Holster for 1911 Guns

https://preview.redd.it/3p28v7uakx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=165d5c06326ad3d85e1ce9b4c6ee36ff069c10e7
I recently had the chance to try out the IWB Gun Holster with Mag Pouch by Houston. This concealed carry holster is made with eco-leather, making it a great choice for those who value sustainability. The holster is designed with comfort in mind, fitting around your waist with ease. It also features a soft suede lining for extra protection for your gun.
One of the best parts of this holster is the sturdy metal clip that ensures your gun stays secure throughout the day. I found it to be a reliable choice when I needed to be on the move. However, on hot summer days, the holster can get a bit sweaty, so it might not be the best choice for intense outdoor activities.
Overall, the IWB Gun Holster with Mag Pouch by Houston is a solid choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable concealed carry option. The eco-leather and soft suede lining provide excellent features for keeping your gun safe, while the metal clip ensures it remains secure throughout the day. However, be mindful of the potential for sweat build-up in hot weather.

🔗Sig Sauer 1911 ProTuck Holster - Adjustable, Lightweight IWB Concealment

https://preview.redd.it/bqop4mcbkx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43da6bf13ae2ef010c060618e72dd78df213473a
The Vedder Holsters ProTuck for a Sig Sauer 1911 without rail offers an exceptional inside the waistband (IWB) experience, providing superior concealment and comfort in one package. The hybrid holster is meticulously crafted from premium leather and form-fitted Kydex, creating a secure and personalized fit for your firearm. Its natural hugging of your body and adjustable retention make it a standout option.
However, I found the weight distribution to be slightly top-heavy, which may require some adjustments. The limited number of color options could also be a drawback for those seeking a more unique look. Nonetheless, the holster's lightweight design, durability, and lifetime guarantee are all noteworthy features that make this a top contender in the market.

🔗Bravo Concealment Torsion 1911 IWB Holster with Adjustable Retention

https://preview.redd.it/0zlc3mvbkx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=896ef85e086e6a40586144ebfb16a0182b8ff98d
I recently became a fan of the Bravo Concealment Adaptive IWB concealed carry holster for my trusty 1911. This holster has been a game-changer in my daily carry routine, thanks to its adjustable retention, which feels secure yet accessible at the same time.
The polymer injection mold is absolutely impressive—it ensures a perfect fit for my 1911 without adding any unnecessary bulk. The torsion technology also helps conceal the gun by twisting it slightly inward, making it effortlessly blend with my wardrobe.
One of my favorite features of this holster is the comfortable fit; it feels like a second skin without any discomfort or irritation. Plus, the holster retains its shape for smooth one-handed re-holstering. The tuckable clip is another added convenience, allowing me to effortlessly tuck it under my clothing when needed.
However, there's one aspect I wish could've been improved—the audible clicking sound when re-holstering. It's a bit too loud for my liking, especially if I'm in quieter surroundings. Overall, I'm satisfied with the performance of the Bravo Concealment IWB holster for my 1911. It's a reliable and comfortable option for everyday concealed carry.

🔗Premium 1911 Holster for Right Hand Configuration

https://preview.redd.it/xcyx469ckx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01903d8dbc870c5ac7458e0fea2578ef1b08bfbc
While I was out on a shooting range, I decided to try out the Desantis Gunhide Mini Slide Belt Holster for my 1911 pistol. First off, the premium saddle leather and attention to detail were striking. The exposed muzzle design gave it a tight fit, perfect for my gun. I also loved the adjustable-tension device, allowing me to customize the holster's hold.
The only issue I encountered was that the belt slots were a tad too wide for my taste. However, the black and tan unlined leather options added a nice touch. Overall, I found the holster to be a great choice for anyone looking for a well-fitted, comfortable, and stylish companion for their 1911 pistol.

🔗Vintage 1911 Holster: Expertly Crafted for Maximum Security and Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/fqj06jnckx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7b8a8c33af557e07cbca41e0ec7fb8e83981880
I recently got my hands on the Texas 1836 Cannon Vintage Edition Open Top OWB Holster. It's a beauty to behold, with its premium full-grain leather design that simply exudes luxury. The handcrafted attention to detail is obvious, making it a perfect fit for my 1911. The double-stitching adds an extra layer of security, and the smooth interior makes for a speedy draw whenever I need it.
While I absolutely love the holster's aesthetics and comfort, I've noticed that it might not be the most versatile option. It's specifically designed for full-size 1911s with no attachments, which means those looking for a more universal option might want to look elsewhere. Nevertheless, for someone looking for a sleek and sturdy holster that's an extension of their style, the Texas 1836 Cannon Vintage Edition is definitely worth considering.

🔗Quality 1911 Optic Ready Leather Holster for Optic and Red Dot Accessories

https://preview.redd.it/wcl9gdyckx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=126c6958ba1ec54ee4d6874fbbc1a37011641e94
The 1791 Optic Ready 1911 Belt Holster BH1 in Signature Brown is a versatile and reliable choice for those seeking a high-quality belt holster. Crafted using premium 100% Certified American Heavy Native Steerhide leather, this holster exudes durability and comfort.
Its multi-fit design and open top make it an easy choice for your preferred carry-style, accommodating a wide range of firearms. However, the added functionality of the optic cut and the inclusion of a sweat guard or shield give it a slight edge in terms of usability.
The reinforced stitching ensures that the holster remains secure and long-lasting. Despite these pros, the holster may not be the most ideal choice for those looking for a more minimalist or lightweight design.
Overall, the 1791 Optic Ready 1911 Belt Holster BH1 is a solid option for anyone seeking a reliable and feature-rich belt holster.

🔗Comfortable 1911 Right-Hand Tan Holster

https://preview.redd.it/2a1nw8cdkx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31ca6ec911636a71be7ac7244867af1f1e4b2fb1
Desantis Cozy Partner 1911 Tan Holster impressed me in many ways. I love its tension mechanism for handgun retention, ensuring that my firearm stays secure in place. However, the memory band, which helps maintain the holster's shape for easy re-holstering, could be improved.
The 1 1/2" split belt loop works well, but I wish it was removable or adjustable for better compatibility with my belt. Another downside is that some models, unfortunately, lack this crucial feature. Overall, as a right-handed firearm enthusiast, this holster has proved useful and practical, but a little more flexibility could enhance my overall experience.

🔗Comfortable and Adjustable 1911 Holsters for Right-Hand Use

https://preview.redd.it/j99ct9udkx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2788fd6bb46a67e10dc34fac3214be4d34ec9341
As someone who's always on the lookout for innovative gear to make my outdoor activities more efficient, I recently had the chance to try out the Blackpoint Outback Chest System. This chest holster is an excellent alternative to traditional belt and off-body carry when hiking, skiing, or engaging in other activities where your hands are occupied.
The Outback Chest System is crafted with a sleek design and lightweight materials, which makes it comfortable to wear and carry for long periods. The holster is securely attached to a well-designed, adjustable harness system that balances strength and ease of use.
One of the standout features of this chest system is its versatile harness design. The Dynamic Bungee Strap enables greater flexibility for movement, while the Static Buckle Strap ensures a snug and stable fit. The Shoulder Strap allows for easy height adjustments, and the adjustable retention features on the holster ensure a perfect fit for a user's gun.
While I'm not a fan of bulky, cumbersome accessories, the Outback Chest System is not heavy or unwieldy. The balance between comfort and security is well executed in this product. However, for those who prefer a more minimalist approach, it might be worth looking into other options.
In conclusion, the Blackpoint Outback Chest System is a smart and practical choice for gun enthusiasts who need a reliable chest carry option for various outdoor activities. Although not everyone may find it their perfect fit, it deserves kudos for offering an effective solution to the inherent challenges of traditional belt and off-body carry methods.

🔗Cozy Partner Inside-the-Pants Holster for 1911 Government Model

I recently got my hands on the Desantis Cozy Partner Holster for my trusty Colt Gov Model 1911. Intrigued by its unique design, I eagerly put it to use. The first thing that caught my attention was the tension device. It provided a perfect fit for my handgun, securing it in place like a glove, and I didn't even have to struggle with adjusting the holster.
The memory band that retains the shape of the holster was another great feature. It made re-holstering my handgun super easy and one-handed, which came in handy when I was on the move. The 1 1/2" split belt loop was a convenient addition, ensuring the holster stayed securely in place.
However, there were a couple of hiccups during my experience. The lack of an adjustable belt loop was a bit of a bummer, as it would have been perfect for those of us with smaller belts. Also, the memory band and split belt loop were only available on some models, not all.
Overall, the Desantis Cozy Partner Holster impressed me with its comfortable design, secure fit, and convenient features, despite a few minor drawbacks. If you're looking for a holster that provides both style and function, this might just be the right pick.

The first thing that struck me was its lightweight construction, which made it feel incredibly comfortable to wear throughout the day. This holster also proved to be reliable, as it securely held my Springfield 5" in place, even during strenuous activities.
One of the most notable features of this holster is its 1.50" belt loops, which provide a snug fit and stability. However, it did take a bit of time to get the holster to sit just right on my belt, which was a minor inconvenience. As a reviewer who's tried the Versacarry Element Holster for myself, I can confidently say it's a comfortable and versatile choice for anyone carrying 1911-style guns. The high-quality distressed brown leather not only looks great but also offers excellent protection, allowing me to conceal carry with peace of mind.
The biggest highlight in this holster for me was the adjustable cant and easy-on/off clips. I appreciate that I can customize the holster's angle to suit my carry preferences, which makes my daily carry more ergonomic and comfortable. Additionally, the quick-release clips make it a breeze to access my firearm when needed.
However, there are a couple of downsides that I've noticed during my use. First, the spare magazine storage compartment is quite snug, which can make it difficult to load or unload extra magazines. And second, while the raised protective backing helps shield my skin from cold contact, the holster does tend to slip a bit, especially when I'm moving around briskly.
Overall, the Versacarry Element Holster is an excellent choice for those looking for a comfortable and discreet 1911 holster. Its adjustable cant and quick-release clips make it a standout option, but expect some minor issues with the spare magazine storage and slippage. But if you're willing to overlook these minor flaws, this holster could be a great addition to your daily carry routine.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to choosing the right 1911 holster, there are several important factors to consider. Here, we'll guide you through some of the most significant aspects of 1911 holsters and provide you with valuable insights to help you make an informed decision.

Material and Durability

https://preview.redd.it/ehcmnciikx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e15e6568eadbe3afb943227b0ad206bb4e77162e
A good 1911 holster should be made of high-quality materials that can withstand the test of time. Common materials used for 1911 holsters include leather, Kydex, and nylon. Leather holsters offer excellent durability and a natural, classy look but may require more maintenance over time. Kydex and nylon holsters, on the other hand, offer greater durability, resistance to weather, and ease of care.

Retention and Security

Retention is a crucial feature that ensures your 1911 stays securely in its holster when not in use. Consider holsters with adjustable retention systems that allow you to adjust the tension to fit your personal preferences. Furthermore, the holster should have a secure clasp or locking mechanism to prevent accidental falls or drops.

Comfort and Concealment

Comfort is a key factor to consider when choosing a 1911 holster, as you'll likely wear it frequently. Look for a holster that has a smooth interior to minimize friction against your firearm. Additionally, a 1911 holster with a curved base, adjustable cant, or a swivel mechanism can help you achieve better concealment, especially when carrying in the appendix position.

Draw Speed and Access

Draw speed is vital for self-defense and can be affected by various factors such as the style of the holster and the position of the grip. A good holster should allow for quick and easy draws without compromising security. Consider holsters with open-bottom designs, as these often promote faster drawing speeds.

Mounting Options and Fit

There are different methods for attaching 1911 holsters, including belt loops, clips, and clips with belt loops. Choose a holster that suits your preferred method of attachment. Additionally, it's essential to ensure that the holster provides a snug and secure fit for your specific 1911 model. Consider the type of carry position you prefer (e. g. , appendix, side, small of the back) and look for holsters designed for that position.

Brand Reputation and Customer Reviews

Do your research on the 1911 holster's brand and customer reviews. A reputable brand with a track record of quality products and satisfied customers can be a good sign. Read reviews to learn about users' experiences with the holster, particularly in terms of fit, durability, and functionality.
Remember that your decision should be based on your personal needs and preferences, as well as the specific requirements of your 1911. By considering these factors, you'll increase your chances of selecting a high-quality 1911 holster that meets your unique demands.

FAQ

Why is a 1911 holster important for gun owners?

A 1911 holster is essential for gun owners who own a 1911 pistol, as it offers a safe and secure way to carry and store their firearm. A high-quality holster protects the pistol from damage, keeps it firmly in place during activities such as shooting or daily carrying, and is readily accessible when needed.

What are some common materials used to make 1911 holsters?

Some common materials used to make 1911 holsters include leather, polymer, and nylon. Leather holsters offer durability and a classic look, while polymer and nylon holsters are lightweight, water-resistant, and provide a faster draw for the user.

What are the key features to look for in a 1911 holster?

  • Secure retention: The holster should hold the 1911 pistol securely while allowing for a quick and easy draw when needed.
  • Comfort: The holster should be comfortable to wear, with minimal friction or pressure points on the user.
  • Durability: The materials and construction of the holster should be rugged and withstand wear and tear, including exposure to the elements.
  • Ambidextrous design: If applicable, the holster should be suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters.

What is the difference between inside-the-waistband (IWB) and outside-the-waistband (OWB) 1911 holsters?

An inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster is designed to be worn under clothing, close to the body for concealment. It can offer a better fit and is more comfortable for most users. Outside-the-waistband (OWB) holsters are worn outside clothing, providing easy access to the firearm. While OWB holsters are generally faster to draw, they may be less discreet for concealed carry purposes.

Are there any special considerations for choosing a 1911 holster with a specific gun carry method?

  • Concealed carry: For concealed carry, look for a holster that is thin, lightweight, and designed for minimal printing or visible outline under clothing.
  • Inside-the-waistband carry: An IWB holster should be designed to comfortably conceal the pistol and should be adjustable for a customized fit.
  • Outside-the-waistband carry: An OWB holster should be adjustable for cant angle and ride height to ensure it fits the user's body and gun model well.

How do I maintain and clean a 1911 holster?

Cleaning and maintaining a 1911 holster involves regularly inspecting it for tears, wear, or damage. Leather holsters should be conditioned periodically using a leather conditioner, and all holsters should be wiped clean of sweat, dirt, or debris. It is also essential to prevent excessive moisture buildup that can damage the holster or cause bacteria growth. Always check the holster before use for any signs of wear or damage, and replace it if necessary.

2024.06.01 11:36 lavenderacid Hot girl autism and people not believing you're good at anything.

I am very recently diagnosed, as in only got diagnosed this week, so forgive me if I don't know all the right language to use.
Certain things, I'm really, really good at for no particular reason. For example, I'm overly flexible and yoga is a special interest of mine, so I achieved my splits within two months. Music just makes sense in my head, and I can play the piano, which is basically a sideways harp, has the same layout as a flute, which is basically a piccolo and a saxophone. I can't explain why I'm good at it, but I can play 12 instruments and if you name any note or scale I can hum it pitch perfect. This has been the case since I was very small, and I had grade 8 in 3 instruments by the time I left school. Piccolo I taught myself in a week because instruments just make sense in my head.
I'm terrible at maths, can't wrap my head round it, but I couldn't explain to you why some things I can understand and pick up instantly, but I struggle with other things. The thing is, people just don't believe me. If someone asks if I can play an instrument and I say I can play 12, they just look at me disbelievingly or say I'm a liar, especially when I was a child.
The fitness community is especially hostile. I'm visibly very flexible, I'll practice backbends or whatever in the gym or at pole class, but when people ask how long it took me to train my splits and I tell them, they get really angry. I've been accused of being a scammer, a liar, told I must be trying to shill a course. I just don't understand why it's so difficult for people to believe that I might be good at something.
Has anybody else experienced this? I feel like some things I'm just naturally better at because of the autism, but people seem really upset and angry about it. I am very very careful not to seem like a bragger, I only mention things if people directly ask, but I don't understand why they'd ask and then get upset with the answer.
