One Hot Wonderland Idea: Blaze Of Glory by Jon Bon Jovi

2024.05.17 09:08 DillonLaserscope One Hot Wonderland Idea: Blaze Of Glory by Jon Bon Jovi

As this is typed out, Jon himself is not touring until he knows if his voice is returned to a good enough state from his last vocal surgery. Man sadly struggled to hit any notes on the last few tours.
In the meantime, it is interesting that for his run doing a solo career outside the band Bon Jovi is his largest solo hit is a little tune called Blaze Of Glory and for a film Young Guns II.
Turns out star Emilio Estevez requested Wanted Dead Or Alive for that film but Jon didn’t think the lyrics relating to touring fit the film and instead crafted Blaze Of Glory instead. The result:

  1. A smash hit debuting at #1 on the US hot 100
  2. Is the 10th highest performing song of 1990 on the year end chart
  3. Features the late Jeff Beck on lead guitar and Randy Jackson on bass
With Jon’s vocal future up in the air, tackling his solo career during his fit voice years sounds fun?

2024.05.17 08:48 Stunning_Dig_4865 How to Build a Developer Metrics Dashboard?

How to Build a Developer Metrics Dashboard?
In today’s modern fast world of software technology, success not only depends on writing code lines or launching new features. It depends on understanding how your team functions, finding areas for improvement, choosing the right tool for platform engineering and ultimately optimizing processes to deliver the best results possible. That’s where the use of a developer metric dashboard solution came into play.
A developer’s dashboard serves as a comprehensive central system for displaying the relevant KPIs and metrics for your engineering team. From code quality and deployment frequency to team velocity and bug resolution time, a well-designed developer metrics dashboard offers detailed insights into your teams’ performance, helping to drive continuous growth.
https://preview.redd.it/yhdmjnjknx0d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba3b01b6d651b77b33ec57a5ec51479c0b1071ea

Why do you need a Developer Metrics Dashboard?

In a highly dynamic software world, monitoring the real-time performance of your team is very important. A developer metrics dashboard allows you to,
  • Track Progress: Ability to track the progress of developers, teams and projects on a real-time basis.
  • Identify Bottlenecks: Identify the constraints or inefficiencies that are connected to the development process and manage to do well by responding to them almost immediately.
  • Measure Quality: Be it code coverage, code churn, or technical debt; track these code quality metrics to make sure your codebase remains bug-free.
  • Improve Collaboration: Encourage and promote teamwork as well as data transparency by giving everyone access to the same data. This can be easily achieved by implementing DevOps as a Service solution.
  • Drive Accountability: Maintain and enforce the accountability of your teammates by setting clear metrics and objectives.
Businesses can consult a reputed DevOps solution provider for leveraging DevOps services alongwith a customized development dashboard to reach their maximum business potential.

Designing Developer Metrics Dashboard

Performing a developer metrics dashboard development success requires proper planning and negotiations. Here are some key steps to help you get started,
  • Identify Key Metrics: Begin by picking out the most important metrics that reflect your team’s intentions and aspirations. They could involve measures such as quality of code, efficiency of performance, throughput and team output.
  • Choose the Right Tools: Choose a dashboarding tool or platform that fits your team and it should not be a strain when used with your development works and tools. Select the right tool for platform engineering that seamlessly integrates with other tools. When it comes to visibility tools, prominent options include Grafana, Datadog, and self-made solutions constructed using frameworks such as Django or Flask.
  • Design for Clarity: Make sure your dashboard is clean and easy to understand by using charts, graphs and tables that are structured clearly and concisely. Ensure that the dashboard remains uncluttered with no less useful or too complicated visualisations.
  • Customize for Your Team: Individualise your dashboard to the specific requirements and preferences. Enable users to have personalized views and use triggers to receive alerts, in case of an event or a threshold.
  • Iterate and Improve: Continuously monitor and measure the impact of your dashboard and feel free to make those revisions that would make your dashboard more well-functioning. Ask for input from your team members and users to keep your dashboard fresh and tailored to their requirements. You can also implement DevOps as a Service solution to achieve this.

Key Metrics to Include

While the specific metrics you track will depend on your team’s goals and objectives, here are some common examples of metrics that are often included in developer metrics dashboards:

2024.05.17 08:46 zapisv1 Using Nen to increase Nen Proficiency: A theory about Ging’s Abilities

With new chapters on the horizon, I thought I’d take a shot at explaining my current guess at Ging’s nen prowess. I am not going to go super in depth with evidence other than Ging’s general character archetype and maybe some other theories (Gon was made via Greed Island).
Ging’s ability is profoundly simple. Like his son, Ging is an enhancer and his ability is a feedback loop. He enhances his nen ability through nen. Not increasing his aura, just his ability to learn. Perhaps by enhancing thought or processing, or even simpler. His ability to learn with speed would help him reach Top 5 nen users at such a young age, and his deep fundamental knowledge of nen has basically been the extent of his presence (faces on fingers, adapting Leorio’s ability, commentary on Gon’a nen-less situation). I think Ging might be attempting to exploit the nature of nen, as seen in the theory of creating Gon through Greed Island cards. He’s lazy but ambitious, in the way of a problem solver that finds simple to get to a solution, rather than constructing an elaborate and grandiose solution. He’s more than capable of getting a 3 Star license but not really bothered by something that would require a lot of time working on and refining. This would lead me to believe that his ability is not an active ability, but a passive skill that allows him to take in and process information at very high levels.
This would fit in line with what he has already said, specifying that his ability is not to directly copy skills with his ability, something like Chrollo’s book. Exceedingly simple, but I can’t think of a caveat to fit into the contractual/sacrificial nature of Nen that would make his Hatsu make sense. Perhaps it’s so simple and effective that there is no major caveat. It contrasts well with the increasingly complicated nen beasts of the princes. It would also aid in baffling people like Pariston, who might overthink and expect a very specific ability. I also like this concept of an anti-specialist, a universalist, which would fall on the opposite end of the nen affinity chart (where Enhancer is). I also think it fits Togashi’s general writing style of trying to subvert expectations, and what he has done recently with expanding the nen affinity chart to having characters that have mixed affinities. Perhaps his “ability” falls less in line with a hatsu and more along the lines of an enhancement of skill itself, like how you can apply XP in a video game to a trait/upgrade that increases XP gain. Something like Komugi’s ability to just improve her gungi skills, simple yet effective.
TL/DR: Ging is good at nen because his nen ability is to improve his nen abilities

2024.05.17 08:05 gunny031680 I’m looking at getting my first plate carrier, and I’m needing help figuring out what size to buy.

I’m looking to buy the Crye precision cage plate carrier but they don’t seem to have any type of sizing chart for this carrier they just offer, small, medium, large or Extra large and I’m not sure what size to buy. So what size does a person buy that’s 6”0 tall and 215 pounds with a 40 inch chest. A lot of other all in one carriers such as offerings from ApEx armor solutions they say they’re carriers are one size fits most the rampage 3.0 they have is that way i think. when I go to most other carrier companies sites say they go off your T-shirt size, but I wear mine way big so hey hang down enough for my shirts to cover my concealed carry holster. So I hardly think I want a 2XL carrier. Does any one know what size a guy this size would order. I’m not positive on plate size or anything like that either I believe someone my size needs 10x12 and I’d like swimmers cut or a shooters cut in a light weight configuration for my somewhat bad back. Any help would be gratefully appropriate. The carrier will mainly used for training on my home range and some training classes and SHTf situations. I was also looking at the Craye at the AVA in that assault configuration. I just want a carrier that fits well and works out of the box without having to do days of re searching what buy 40 different things you have to buy to make it operational like the Jpc 2.0 jumpable

2024.05.17 07:49 MushberryPie What’s your approach if you’ve only got a B2B design system and trying to design for a B2B2C white labeled product or a differentiated B2B user?

Hi! Philosophical question here.
Say you a designer working on a B2B platform used by dentists. Your Company X platform offersdentists tools to run their businesses and do all their work, pretty much plug and play - charting, running reports, billing, etc.
The Company X platform offering has been around for awhile with no design system, just all different ad hoc UX work. But the company recently started building with new technology, and along with that has started up a new unified design system (YAY!)
The new design system foundation was created with the intention of being simple and intuitive for dentists, based on google material design, and now, module by module, new components are being stood up using the new Company X tech and new design system. It’s all going great…
Until…
You realize there are 2 other user types of the Company X platform which are different than the dentists originally considered as users of the design system: office staff and patients.
Company X offers a B2B2C patient portal (which the dentists white label as their own - so the platform and Company X brand is invisible to the patients) and there will also eventually be another offering which is a B2B medical records portal used by the office staff (on the roadmap.)
There was no research on the patients or office staff when the new design system was created for dentists, and no differentiated style or interaction designs were considered for these other users.
It’s become clear with recent new research that the user experience and needs, psychographic personas, use cases, etc. are very different for patients than dentists (shocking, I know, but 20/20 hindsight). So what is easy and intuitive for dentists might still feel overwhelming or cold and uncaring for patients with a toothache, etc.
What would go into your thinking about how to modify the new design system for the patient portal and the medical records portal? Would you consider modifying the design systems in both use cases? Or would you never make changes to the design system in order to maintain consistency across everything sold to dentists? Or would you not even reference the design system that was created for the dentist user platform and start fresh when designing for the two other users?
Note there will be no separate marketing brand for the patient portal or the medical records portal. These are just considered parts of the overall platform offering and overall brand.
I’ve been hunting for articles and references for platform design systems for similar use cases but can’t find any for the white label use case which seems the trickiest. AirBnB and Uber for example, are 2 sided platforms where the parent brand and design is known on both sides, no white label.
Thanks!!

2024.05.17 07:05 Mymindcries Other peoples interpretation on my issues with people

I have a theory about astrology, so I’ve been casually looking at other peoples charts for the past year to contemplate it. I’ve learned a lot of interesting things about astrology, and still learning. However my own chart seems to alluded me. I can’t connect my chart to my issues with trying to understand other people in a way that’s relatable to them. I have people in my life (married, children, friends, family), but I have a hard time connecting to people and I feel like it’s my issue, and I want to resolve it. It feels like a job trying to maintain connections, and I don’t want to slowly hermitize. Can anyone see anything in my chart that relates to this issue? Thank you!

2024.05.17 06:48 ImpressionReal6727 SAT Tips for Upcoming Writers + My Experience

Since the June DSAT is coming up I thought I'd make a post on tips and resources I used to help me study for the May 4th sat. This post goes into decent depth so read it all carefully and remember what worked for me might not work for you.
If you're like me and procrastinated studying until now then this post is definitely for you. All my prep for the May 4th test was done in like 14 days and I expect a score of 1540 or above.
My scores for the college board practice tests:
Practice Test 1: 1220
Practice Test 2: 1190
Practice Test 3: 1530
Practice Test 4: 1360
Practice Test 5: 1460
Practice Test 6: 1530
PRACTICE TESTS EXPERIENCE: Practice Test 1 and 2 were done without desmos since I didn't even know I could use it, so I basically wasted those two. I did test 2 after doing khan academy, test 3 was done using desmos and I did it after I grinded through like 80% of khan academy. Practice Test 4 truly humbled me and I realized how unprepared I really was which was when I started watching more youtube videos. I took the practice test 5 only 2 days after test 4 and my score increased like crazy which made me confident again.
NOTE: PRACTICE TEST 4, 5, AND 6 ARE THE CLOSEST IN DIFFICULTY TO THE REAL DEAL, TEST 1, 2 AND 3 ARE VERY EASY COMPARED TO THE REAL THING.
BASICS FOR BEGINNERS: If you have not studied yet at all you should start with basic concepts on Khan academy, grind through the lessons and videos, do the practice questions in the foundation section and medium section. Also learn how to use desmos, I used desmos for things I didn't even know was possible. Learning how to use desmos got rid of easy constant questions, inequalities, system of equations. Make sure to watch the 3 part desmos videos I talked about below in the youtubers section, it truly helped me a lot.
YOUTUBE: Youtube was one of the key reasons my score increased, I watched videos on the dsat constantly, while I ate food, even on my breaks I just watched videos running through the practice test I had already taken over and over again. I went over each practice test and the mistakes I made probably like 3 - 4 times throughout the 15 days.
QUESTION BANK: After I finished every practice test provided by the college board, ONLY THEN did I go to the college board question bank. This is because a good amount of the questions off of the practice tests are in this bank so without knowing it your brain could memorize how to do it and recognize it when doing the practice test which would inflate your marks. I probably went through hundreds of questions from the question bank (English and math) within the last 3 days before the may 4th test.
EXTRA TIPS: Sleep and exercise are also very important and something that I think isn't talked about enough, this applies more to people who are in my boat and are studying last minute and want a really high score. I slept crazy every night and it really helped me retain more information. Exercise is an amazing break even a walk works, anytime I hit a wall during my study periods I'd just go to the gym for 45 minutes to and hour and I would always come back refreshed ready to study again.
Youtubers I used:
Not promoting these guys in any way but they're just the only youtubers I used and I think other people here would probably find them useful.
Here are all the youtubers I used, Scalar Learning, Settele Tutoring, Tutorllini Test Prep, Strategic Test Prep, Method Learning.
Scalar Learning: He has some decent videos teaching basic concepts and his shorts have some good practice questions that he goes through.
Settele Tutoring: Settele was the one I watched the most, he went through every single question (in separate videos) on every single practice test given by the college board, I also watched some of his free concept learning videos on english, I think he explains a lot of the stuff pretty well. He’s amazing at english and helping you learn english, he made something called a “dumb summary” which I actually used a lot on my may 4th sat, it’s essentially a method where you can summarize a massive paragraph in like 30-40 seconds easily.
Tutorllini Test Prep: Has some good concept videos and also goes through all the math questions on all the practice tests really well, sometimes giving like 2-3 different methods you can use to solve a single question. He also goes through some of his own worksheets that he’s made and some of them are pretty good practice.
Strategic Test Prep: She gives some good test day tips and tips and shortcuts in general for the SAT, her explanations on the practice tests are also pretty decent.
Method Learning: Method Learning is what I’d say really boosted my score in the very beginning stages of my studying. This is only because of his 3 part desmos videos, I didn’t watch any of his other videos but that 3 part seriously was a game changer. The desmos tips he gives are amazing. An example is if a question gives you a linear or quadratic equation and then a constant in it, you can plug that exact equation into desmos and move the slider around to find what the constant is, this takes no more than 30 seconds.
Formulas I memorized for the DSAT:
You will have to memorize some formulas for the DSAT and some will make your life easier.
Sum of interior angles in a polygon: 180(n-2)
Area of a sector: πr^2 ⋅ θ/360
Arc Length: 2πr ⋅ θ/360
Mass/Volume/Density: m = v(d)
X cord. of vertex: -b/2a
Sum of solutions: -b/a
Product of solutions: c/a
If anyone needs any tips or anything just let me know I'll try my best to respond.
Whatever score you want is possible if you're willing to put in the work and time.
