A wick check for InexplicableLanguageFluency.
'''Why?''': InexplicableLanguageFluency seems to lump in examples of characters demonstrating fluency in a language they've never learned with examples of characters merely understanding a language they never learned. For one, it doesn't make sense for the latter examples to be there since the title has the word "fluency" in it. Secondly, many of the latter examples can be moved to BilingualDialogue or AmplifiedAnimalAptitude.
'''Wicks checked''': 50/72
'''Wick totals''':
* 21/50 wicks, or 11.5%, were clear examples of a character demonstrating fluency in a language they never learned. * 24/50 wicks, or 12% were examples of a character understanding a language without demonstrating fluency. * 4/50 wicks, or 2%, were written in a way that made it unclear whether they were being used correctly. * 1/50 wicks, or 1.5%, was an aversion.
[[folder:Characters demonstrating fluency in a language they never learned (21/50)]] * Characters.AtlantisTheLostEmpire: The Atlanteans are able to fluently communicate with the explorers from the surface in English and French. This is handwaved as their own language being a precursor to all other languages. * Characters.YaBoyKongming: ** Kongming finds himself immediately fluent in Japanese despite having never learned the language, and the Japan of his era was still a dwarf country that mostly only sent envoys to Shu's rival kingdom of Wei. Eiko points out the absurdity of how an ancient Chinese figure can suddenly speak Japanese, and Kongming himself is at a loss of how he can do this. * Characters.YellowjacketsCrashSurvivors: [[spoiler:She, and by extension others in the Antler Queen cult she forms, randomly speak French on occasion, which Lottie at least is ''not'' fluent in, indicating mental instability.]] '''If this is supposed to be an inversion, it's correct, but it should be rewritten to mention that it's an inversion.''' * ComicBook.Asterix: Gauls can speak to most foreign peoples without any difficulty. Either everyone can speak Gaulish, or the Gauls can speak other languages, but either way is downright impossible. * ComicBook.UltimateFantasticFour: ** Downplayed. Namor demonstrates this trope after spending nine thousand years of being sealed inside a sarcophagus prison. Being from an ancient civilization of Atlantis that predates the modern English language, he initially has no idea what his new captors are saying when they find him. However, thanks to his psionic powers he proves to be a frighteningly fast learner and is able to learn English within an hour to understand modern American English and casually deliver threats and demands. ** Happens again when the Four meets the Silver Surfer who is able to understand English perfectly the instant he arrives to Earth for the first time. He justifies this by stating can decipher electromagnetic signals in the air to learn alien tongues in seconds. * Friends.TropesFToJ: Zig-zagged. "The One Where Ross Can't Flirt" has her speaking with Joey's Italian grandmother, with Phoebe seeming as surprised about this as Joey. But in an earlier episode, Rachel's former lover Paulo calls her "bellissima" and she doesn't understand. ->'''Joey:''' Wow, Phoebs, you speak Italian?\\ '''Phoebe:''' Apparently. * Film.ExorcistTheBeginning: In-universe, the main characters note Cheche's sudden fluency in English after being brought to the hospital. Of course this is because it is Pazuzu speaking through him and not actually Cheche. '''This is DiscussedTrope, not InUniverse'''. * Film.{{Phenomenon}}: Downplayed. After a UFO encounter, George gains a form of superintelligence where he can learn complicated tasks and subjects quickly, to the point where he's able to fluently speak Portuguese after reading an English-to-Portuguese dictionary for twenty minutes. This was foreshadowed in an earlier scene where after usually fumbling to speak Spanish, he's suddenly able to speak it perfectly, to the point that his Hispanic coworker half-seriously declares that it's better than his. * Literature.ForgottenRuin: When Talker and Vandahar speak during the final stretch to the Hidden Cave, Vandahar speaks in what we would recognize as modern German, which of course makes communicating with him very easy for Talker but raises a few questions. * Literature.InCryptid: Of the GeneticMemory version. When Candice the Dragon Princess comes up against the LizardFolk wandering about the New York sewers, she's able to make them halt using a guttural language. She reveals to Verity that it's a inborn language all Princesses know and something the "Servitors" are meant to respond to. She's also never used it before as Servitors can only be created from a [[spoiler:living male dragon]]. * Literature.SeasonalFears: Aven is essentially in a coma all her life but, thanks to the alchemical knowledge tinctures of her father', she speaks perfect English even if there are some issues with definitions. * Literature.ShiversMDSpenser: Bubbie moves to France with her family and meets a new French kid, Jean-Luc, and can somehow converse with him without any language issues; at the end of the story she can hold a long conversation with a stranger in French, despite spending less than a week in the country. Previous books with an overseas setting will at least attempt justifying this trope (for instance, ''Terror on Troll Mountain'' has the protagonist's Italian family choosing to speak in English because they're anticipating American guests) but this one handwaves the issue until it's a borderline plot hole. * Recap.AsterixAndTheGoths: Getafix is able to speak fluent Gothic, despite being a Gaulish druid who has no logical reason to know it (especially considering how antagonistic the Goths are in this story). * Recap.FriendsS5E19TheOneWhereRossCantFlirt: Phoebe speaks with Joey's Italian grandmother, with [[InexplicableLanguageFluency Phoebe seeming as surprised about this as Joey]]. '''Joey:''' Wow, Phoebs, you speak Italian?\\ '''Phoebe:''' Apparently. * Recap.TalesFromTheDarksideS4E6TheGraveRobber: Aileen is surprised to hear Tapok speaking English when he wakes up, the mummy giving an offhand mention that he can speak the language of anyone who violates the tomb. * Roleplay.WanyaKingdomVSAwoofyUnity: Fragment has been shown to speak any language even if he has never heard it before. * Series.{{Llanargollen}}: In "Dirgelwch y Llyfr Coll", Prys and Barti speak to each other in Swahili. It seems incredibly unlikely that Prys would be fluent in that language, and Barti only speaks in unintelligible grunts with individual words thrown in. The other characters barely react to this. * VideoGame.EternalReturnBlackSurvival: The test subjects are able to work together with each other in spite of how one would presume that the vast majority of them would be completely unable to verbally communicate with most of the others. {{Averted}} by some of the achievement lore entries, which include statements observed from test subjects that some of which have a note underneath which states the words were translated by AI and will be reviewed and localized further in the future. '''Since this seems to be an implied example rather than a straight example, and it seems to be ambiguous InUniverse whether it's this or BilingualDialogue, I'll leave it here.''' * VideoGame.MegaManBattleNetwork2?: [=MegaMan=]'s translation system allows Lan to speak flawless Netopian after they arrive in Netopia. * WesternAnimation.{{Pocahontas}}: English explorer John Smith meets the alluring Pocahontas of the Powhatan tribe. Smith doesn't know her language, nor she his. That is, until Pocahontas takes a breath of magic wind. Suddenly, her English is better than his. [[/folder]]
[[folder:Aversions (1/50)]] * DarthWiki.{{Aquilaverse}}: ''Averted'' Not inexplicable, since her spell "Xenographus" let's her read any language she encounters for a limited duration. [[/folder]]

'''You can't "understand a language fluently". Does he ''speak'' it fluently, or at least speak it better than he should realistically be able to?''' * Series.AlloAllo: Frenchmen, Germans, and Italians can talk to each other. !!!'''Characters being able to understand a language without demonstrating fluency (24/50) 12%''' [[folder:Amplified Animal Aptitude (7/50) '''3.5%''']] * Literature.MrsFrisbyAndTheRatsOfNIMH: The animals can understand humans and each other, but can't talk to humans. This leads to a bit of FridgeLogic as to where exactly all these animals picked up English (justified for the rats, as they were taught it in the lab, but not for any of the others), and whether they can understand other human languages automatically as well. * Recap.TheSimpsonsS6E6TreehouseOfHorrorV: When Homer is sent back in time to a prehistoric era, and has to avoid stepping on anything to change the future, he ends up swatting a mosquito then asks for reassurance that it won't change the future.
Smith doesn't know her language, nor she his. That is, until Pocahontas takes a breath of magic wind. Suddenly, her English is better than his. [[/folder]]

🔗Fab Def Gradus Grip - Reinforced Polymer Core with Textured Rubber Overmold for Enhanced Comfort and Precision Shooting

https://preview.redd.it/n7wguee2lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9d9b44f1fb293afa9245e33e1541484dc38d9ae
The Gradus pistol grip from FAB Defense has been a staple in my daily carry-on gun. I've found that its reinforced polymer core with a textured rubber overmold provides a comfortable yet secure grip. The 15-degree reduced grip angle is perfect for those precision shots, especially during CQB scenarios.
I also appreciate the slim ergonomic design and curved back strap, which makes for a more enjoyable and comfortable grip. The AR-style beaver tail adds a touch of ruggedness and makes it easy to attach to any compatible firearm. Plus, it comes in a beautiful Flat Dark Earth color, which adds a touch of style without being overbearing.
While it's not the cheapest grip on the market, I'm willing to pay a bit extra for the quality that FAB Defense provides. However, my only complaint is that it doesn't come with a mounting screw, which might be a hassle for some users. All in all, it's a top-notch grip that's worth considering for your next firearm purchase.

🔗Ergonomic AK Bakelite Orange Pistol Grip by US Palm

https://preview.redd.it/8yadrak2lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7635907e32a567d88dd3937b5dbce88b8bfa1049
I've been using the US Palm AK Bakelite Orange Pistol Grip, also known as the Jericho 941 Grips, in my daily life for a while now, and let me tell you, it's truly a game-changer. The ergonomic design of the grip makes it incredibly comfortable to hold, providing more control and reducing hand fatigue during extended use. The bright orange color adds a touch of style, making it stand out from other grips on the market.
One aspect I particularly love about this grip is the level of customization it offers. The texture is perfect, offering enough grip without being too abrasive, and it has a slightly cushioned feel that's both comfortable and reliable. However, one small downside is that the grip is slightly heavier than other options on the market, weighing in at 0.38 oz. This might not be a major concern for most users, but it's something to consider if you're looking for a lightweight grip.
In conclusion, the US Palm AK Bakelite Orange Pistol Grip is an ergonomic, stylish, and reliable choice for anyone looking to upgrade their grip. Despite its slight weight, the pros definitely outweigh the cons in this case, making it a top contender in the market for sure-shot accuracy and comfort.

🔗Premium Cocobolo Wood 1911 Govt. Grip

https://preview.redd.it/st5hz433lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a4c2ca2d8694ecd6f274ee1f43c59d0860a3dee
You know that feeling of getting your hands on a perfectly crafted piece, where every detail is meticulously done? Well, that's exactly what using these Ed Brown Grips feels like. They may look like just another set of handgun grips, but take one in your hand and it's game over.
What really stood out for me was the Cocobolo wood - not just because it boasts a striking appearance, but because it's the densest and strongest of all the rosewoods. It's the perfect choice for high-quality grips like these.
However, there's a tiny downside - they're not cut for an ambi safety. But hey, perfection isn't perfect, right?
These grips have a certain charm about them that makes holding your Taurus revolver feel like a luxury experience. And when you're working with a tool as important as a firearm, feel really matters. So, while they might seem like just another part to some, to me, they're the difference between a good day and a fantastic one.

🔗Hogue Ultra Thin 1911 Grips in Slate Gray with Finger Grooves

https://preview.redd.it/6ewe4ph3lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4558f35b3df09305afad3be5768e3d970c9153ca
These Hogue 1911 Government Panels, with their unique Slate Grey Rubber finish, have become an essential part of my daily carry. The finger grooves made of Cobblestone Texture provide a comfortable grip, allowing me to hold the pistol securely without sacrificing my ability to quickly draw it when needed.
The OverMolded grips add a touch of elegance, and I appreciate the subtle Ultra Thin design that doesn't compromise functionality. While the texture might be a bit more noticeable than I would prefer, so far, I haven't experienced any issues, and the grips have held up well under the stress of regular use. Overall, these Hogue 1911 grips have proved to be a reliable addition to my arsenal, and I'll continue to trust them on important outings.

🔗Comfortable 1911 Laser Grip Add-On with Finger Grooves

https://preview.redd.it/xg9laws3lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d6444d50f6537db2b98d4be650e758c1d83ccb2
In my daily life, I've had the pleasure of using this Pearce Finger Groove Add On for my 1911 Government full-size pistol. The first thing that stood out to me was how effortlessly it slipped under the existing grips, making no compromises in the gun's aesthetic. The side portion of these grips is incredibly slim, ensuring that the overall width of my firearm remained unaffected. With the added rubber finger grooves, I experienced enhanced comfort and improved handling, which made a noticeable difference during recoil.
One of the best aspects of this add-on is its compatibility with various types of side panel grips, such as wood, simulated ivory, and pearlite. This feature allowed me to continue using my preferred grip without having to sacrifice comfort for the sake of finger grooves. Installation was a breeze, and I appreciated that no trimming was required. Overall, the Pearce Finger Groove Add On is an excellent investment for any 1911 owner who desires both a functional and visually appealing grip solution.

🔗1911 Laser Grips Slate Gray with Finger Grooves

https://preview.redd.it/igp0ji44lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8777d47fedaa2dbe68055e8bc4f62ef0409f9372
During my time in the shooting range, I've had the opportunity to put my hands on several different gun grips. Some were uncomfortable, some slippery, and others seemed to disappear as I struggled to maintain a solid grip. That was until I tried the Hogue Rubber Officer's - a slate grey wonder to behold.
Slipping this beauty onto my 1911 Officer 43002, I instantly felt the cobblestone texture that filled my hands with a renewed sense of confidence. The rubber compound, sturdy and durable, left me feeling protected and secure from any potential recoil. The slate grey color was a cool and calming contrast to the fire and smoke that surrounded me.
However, the story doesn't end with all praise. The finger grooves, despite being a nice touch, felt slightly awkward and intrusive. I found myself wishing for a smooth, continuous surface that wouldn't impede my grip. Additionally, while the rubber material made for a solid base, it was also a bit too friction-driven. In extremely humid conditions, I experienced a slight difficulty sliding the grip back into its natural position. But after using it for a few weeks, I felt more comfortable and found those quirks to be minimal.
All in all, the Hogue Rubber Officer's is a worthy companion to my trusty firearm. The balance of practical design and aesthetic appeal makes it a valuable asset in any firearms enthusiast's arsenal. Though it's not a perfect product, it's certainly a step in the right direction.

🔗Ultra-Thin 1911 Grips for Commander & Other Handguns

https://preview.redd.it/mgran7o4lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fa8de0d500dd7e651db0f9cc8870ccad5f94614
I've recently taken these 1911 Operator II G10 Grips out for a spin, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer. These grips are ambidextrous and feature an easy-to-use safety cut, so regardless of your preference, they'll suit you perfectly. The Predator Green color really sets them apart from other grips on the market, and their sleek G10 material ensures a reliable grip without adding any bulk.
I particularly appreciate their ultra-thin design, which allows for smooth handling, and the textured surface provides excellent traction. However, I have noticed that they aren't compatible with specific 1911 or Commander models, so make sure your gun model matches. Overall, these grips have made a noticeable difference in my shooting experience, and I highly recommend them for any 1911 enthusiast.

🔗1911 Blued Beavertail Memory Grove Safety Grip

https://preview.redd.it/8o17hty4lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fcd529d244237ad0f7965aaf774aa185c8b3ff7
I recently had the chance to try out the Blue S80 1911 Machined Memory Grove BeaverTail Safety. This sleek, sturdy firearm safety is a perfect blend of style and functionality. The blued finish gives it a unique and elegant look, while the beavertail cut provides a comfortable grip that's easy to hold onto.
One of the standout features of this safety is the grooved design. It's not only a great aesthetic touch but also provides a practical benefit by giving users a better grip. However, the Blue S80 does have a few drawbacks. For instance, its slim profile can make it difficult for some users to find a comfortable position. Nevertheless, overall, it's a solid choice for those looking for a stylish and effective firearm safety.

🔗High-Ride 1911 Style Stainless Steel Laser Grip for Enhanced Comfort and Precision

https://preview.redd.it/997znwb5lx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=538c7030e29d85a2e43ef2e781a261b936dfb25c
I recently got my hands on the Wilson Combat 298S BeaverTail Grip Safety, and I must say, it's a game-changer for my 1911 Auto. I used it for an entire day at the range, and the high-ride design allowed me to hold the gun more comfortably and with better control. The raised Pisi-Release tab also made disengaging the safety a breeze.
However, I did notice some minor hiccups. For one, the product came with a barrel bushing instead of the grip safety I ordered, which left me quite disappointed. Additionally, I encountered a few issues with fitment and had to do some custom work to make it work with my firearm.
Overall, the Wilson Combat 298S BeaverTail Grip Safety improved my experience with my 1911 Auto significantly, but it did come with a few unexpected challenges.

Choosing the right 1911 laser grip can be a daunting task with so many options available on the market. In this buyer's guide, we will outline important features, considerations, and general advice for purchasing the best 1911 laser grip to suit your needs.

Important Features

  1. Compatibility: Make sure the laser grip you choose is compatible with your 1911 handgun model and caliber. Some laser grips are designed for specific models, while others are universal.
  2. Brightness: Choose a laser grip with an adjustable brightness setting. This will allow you to customize the intensity of the laser beam as per your comfort and shooting conditions.
  3. Runtime: The runtime of the laser grip's battery should be long enough to last through a typical day of shooting or practice. Consider choosing a grip with a rechargeable battery to minimize the need for constant replacements.
  4. Durability: A high-quality laser grip should be made of durable materials to withstand the rigors of daily use, especially in harsh environments or during competitions.

  2. Size and Ergonomics: The laser grip should fit comfortably in your hand and not interfere with your shooting grip. Measure the diameter of your handgun's grip and compare it with the dimensions of the laser grip.
  3. User Feedback: Check online reviews and ratings from other users to understand the pros and cons of different laser grip models. This can provide valuable insights into the performance and reliability of the product.

1911 laser grips offer several advantages:

  • Adjustability: Some grips offer adjustable laser sights, allowing you to fine-tune the sight for your preferences.
  • Price: Determine your budget and prioritize the features that matter most to you.

Are 1911 laser grips safe to use?

As long as you handle and store your 1911 laser grip and handgun responsibly, they can be safe to use. Always follow proper handling and storage guidelines, and be aware of your surroundings when using a laser in any capacity.

2024.06.01 11:16 theVmonkey What this mental diagnosis can be ?

Hey /r!
I (26M) have a lovely girlfriend (28F) who I was with for 7-8 months now, but we have only moved together in february. I have noticed in the past that when something bad happened to some of her clothes, she went "crazy". No it's not a usual histerica, it's really a traumatic breakdown. Months ago I have discovered the fact that she was beaten by her mom when some of her clothes got damaged when she was a little girl.
Yesterday she was trying to hang some of her clothes and during this process she damaged a beautiful dress. Not so bad damage, barely visible, but for her it was enough. She was crying and I thought it might go away, but it didn't. She hardly communicated, didn't have a reaction to my questions or my touches, hardly I could get out of her that "It will go away just let me be" and "I hate my life" and "I hate myself"...
I know (and she told me too) that it started only after this dress damage and she didn't feel something like this before, and she say that "It's just my thinking it will go away". But every time I get involved in this so strong that I'm looking for mistakes in me. All I want is to see her happy again.
I have seen something like this before with her but not with this amount of drama and negative thoughts. She couldn't sleep all night, she avoids eye contact, avoids physical touch, answers every 10 minute with 1 sentence. I told to her that I can leave her alone but she did not want.
Is this PTSD? If not, what it can be? If yes, what I can do for making her feel good during her bad "episode" , and to pass this episode as quick as possible?
Thank you very much!

2024.06.01 11:12 Bubbly_Math5201 i feel useless

I've never had friends until almost a year ago, I met this girl and I became friends with her along with my sister. eventually another girl joined in and it was a fun friend group. after about 7 months I started realizing how much I appreciate them and so after trying to show that I like being friends with them, the first girl made a joke where I'm always sentimental. this girl is pretty much the main friend, the one that makes sure somethings always happening. but also that girl has a whole other friend group, she mentions them all the time, she's been in that friend group for so much longer than us, the group is bigger, and she seems to talk about them as if they're obsessed with her. so me being me I started overthinking. I started our friend group, she's definitely mentioned that to her other friend group considering none of her other friend group goes to our school. I'm wondering if she even likes being in the friend group. and then I noticed how cheerful she always was when she talked with us and made jokes and told stories. but I noticed every time I tried being like her, I felt like I was trying too hard. every time I want to do my own thing instead of accidentally doing everything she does, I felt like Im seeking attention. she always sarcastically makes fun of my sister, she used to make fun of me too as a joke but she stopped ever since I became "sentimental". I always watch how the second girl in the friend group tries to make things fun but the first girl doesn't go with it. but every time I try doing something like that, she does go with it. I'm not saying somebody doesn't like someone else in the friend group or any drama type stuff. I just feel like every time I try saying something, the first girl is focusing more on the response of others than what I said. we make inappropriate jokes, and the first girl says that people in her other friend group are her "hoes" and when she does, she seems to mean it in a negative way. but every time she shows affection to me, like even just hugging, she says "this my hoe", I think about if she means it as in I'm not important, or if I'm just like her other friends. and she seems to have a way stronger bond with her other friends, she doesn't share her real tiktok account because there's information that we don't know but the other friend group does know. I know it's probably because we have only known her for 9 months. I'm also insecure, she's so pretty, she isn't afraid to be herself, she shares her own opinions. I'm so jealous. and naturally I try to be like her. but I'm not as pretty, confident, original as her. Im just able to go with what she does. I can't speak about anything. because then I'd be seeking attention like some pick me. I love being friends with her, but she makes me feel useless.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun Fun Shooting Kit

https://preview.redd.it/1gw8my1tcx3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d4839cc8ac19cd99ab11d732cd622c9a47baff7
I recently tried the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit myself and had quite the adventure. Firstly, the set truly comes with everything you need for an exciting shooting experience. However, I must say, it took me a while to get used to it.
One of the key features of this kit is the renowned Red Ryder BB gun. It's smooth and easy to hold, but the accuracy was quite disappointing. I found myself missing targets more often than I would have liked. On the bright side, at least I could appreciate the classic design of the gun.
To enhance the shooting experience, the kit also comes with shooting glasses and a tin of BBs. I must admit, the glasses were convenient and provided some protection while I was busy aiming at targets. The BBs, however, seemed like a cheap alternative and didn't always penetrate the targets.
The fun paper targets provided were a nice touch, but the distance limitations of the gun took away some of the enjoyment. I had to be extremely close to hit the targets, and even then, it wasn't always accurate.
Overall, while the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit is a decent option for a beginner's shooting experience, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for better accuracy or quality. But if you're looking for an affordable and simple way to introduce a young one to the world of BB guns, it might just do the trick.

I recently got my hands on the Parris Lawman Toy Pistol and it's been my go-to for all my Wild West role-playing. The die-cast metal construction gives it a nice weight and the vinyl holster and belt feel like the genuine article.
However, as a kid, I found the cap gun a bit tricky to fire, and the ring caps were hard to find. On the plus side, the Lawman Holster Set is a great addition to the whole experience, and it looks and feels just like the real deal. Overall, this toy is a fun way to transport myself back to the dusty trails of the Wild West.

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hands on this book, "The Colt M1911 . 45 Automatic Pistol: M1911, M1911A1, Markings, Variants, Ammunition, Accessories [Book]". Being a gun enthusiast, I was eager to dive into the world of this iconic pistol.
What stood out to me was the detailed information on the M1911's design, manufacturing, and testing. The book takes you on a journey through its combat use in various wars, with more than 370 images that provide a visual breakdown of the weapon. The serial numbers list and the visuals of the weapon's markings were particularly fascinating.
The section on accessories like magazines, ammunition, holsters, and cleaning kits was a nice touch, adding to the overall comprehensive nature of the book. I found the combat-related uniform and equipment items to be of special interest.
However, one drawback I encountered was the inconsistency in the captions of some photos. I was expecting a more complete reference on some of the markings and stampings. Despite this, the book still managed to impress me with its wealth of data and images.
Despite its relatively short length, "The Colt M1911 . 45 Automatic Pistol: M1911, M1911A1, Markings, Variants, Ammunition, Accessories [Book]" is a must-have for anyone interested in the history and development of this legendary firearm. The high-quality images and detailed information make it a valuable addition to any library.

The Ed Brown 1911 housing is a fine example of the dedication to precision and quality that makes this brand stand out. As a seasoned gun enthusiast, I've come to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that goes into crafting these firearms. With this product, I especially noticed the superior components and expert machining that made the gun feel smooth and well-balanced. The mag well housing, in particular, added an element of sophistication to my 1911 replica.
While the Ed Brown 1911 housing is an excellent choice for those seeking top-notch performance, there are a few potential downsides to consider. One is the price point, which may be prohibitive for some users. Additionally, while the housing is designed for durability, it's essential to take proper care of it to ensure its longevity. All in all, the Ed Brown 1911 housing is an exceptional product that delivers on promises of quality and craftsmanship.

🔗Miniature 1911 BB Gun - Light Blue Model with Cycling Round Feature

I was amazed by the GoatGuns Mini Blue 1911 Die Cast Model Gun, also known as 'Bunny. ' The soft light blue paint coupled with the ivory grips made it a refreshing change from the usual gun models. The attention to detail in this toy is remarkable, especially the movable parts that let you experience the real-life action.
The 1:2.5 scale made it a perfect desk or makeup shelf accessory. It even cycled the dummy rounds, which added a realistic touch. The magazine release with loadable dummy rounds and working slide actions made it even more enjoyable.
However, one downside I noticed was the difficulty in finding replacement dummy rounds. Also, the toy could be more durable than it seemed. Regardless, I'd still recommend it, especially for women who want to enjoy a unique toy or for those who value authenticity in collectibles.

🔗Western Style Pellet Pistol for Quick and Accurate Target Shooting

In my daily life, I've encountered the Parris Manufacturing Western Air Single Pistol, and it's been a thrilling experience! The anticipation of a quick draw, with the sound of "1, 2, 3, DRAW! " resonating in the air, is unmatched. The pistol air gun, complete with 5 darts and a holder, feels solid and sturdy in my hands.
What stood out to me was the accuracy of the shots. The air pistol is quick and accurate, a perfect blend for a fun and engaging target practice. However, I noticed that the darts struggled to stick to a target beyond 5 feet, requiring a bit of adjustment in aiming higher.
Despite this minor drawback, the nostalgic charm and excitement that come with using the Parris Manufacturing Western Air Single Pistol make it a standout choice for a fun and engaging pastime. Don't be caught off guard when someone says "Draw! " - be prepared with this quick and accurate air pistol in your holster!

🔗Safe and Realistic Colt 1911 Kids Toy Gun Set

I recently stumbled upon the Teanfa Classic Foam Play Toy Gun Colt 1911, and let me tell you, it's a hit with kids and adults alike! The first thing that struck me was the impressive attention to detail. With its realistic dimensions, it felt just like holding a real Colt 1911. The soft bullets are perfect for a fun outdoor game with kids, and the fact that they're completely harmless makes it a great choice for families with younger children.
While I was initially skeptical about the toy's safety, the realistic design actually makes it a great tool for teaching kids about gun safety. The set also comes with a tactical holster, which adds even more authenticity to the experience. The only downside I found was that the foam bullets can be a bit hard to load, but that's a small price to pay for the overall fun and education this product provides.

Recently, I found myself with an old M1911 pistol, and I needed a comprehensive guide to understand and maintain it. The Automatic Pistol, Caliber. 45 M1911 and M1911a1: Basic Field Manual quickly became my go-to book. With its rich history and detailed design schematics, I was able to disassemble, assemble, clean, and maintain my pistol like a pro.
The book not only covers the basics of the pistols but also provides valuable information on ammunition and marksmanship techniques. The best part? . The book is a facsimile reprint of an old edition, giving it a unique charm and feel.
While the layout could use a revamp, the content is invaluable to anyone who wants to get the most out of their M1911.

🔗Non-Firing 1911 M1911A1 Pistol Replica Guns - Nickel Finish, Lacquered Wood Grips

Imagine stepping into a world of history, but with a twist. The Denix 6316 M1911A1 Pistol Replica lets you experience the beauty and craftsmanship of a genuine firearm, without the dangers or restrictions. With its 9.5-inch overall length, this replica is an impressive reproduction of a legendary piece.
The metal construction gives it a sturdy and reliable feel, while the nickel finish adds a touch of elegance. The simulated mechanism of loading and firing adds to the authenticity and excitement of the experience. However, be prepared for a little frustration as some parts might not function as expected, like its magazine and safety features.
Despite this, the Denix 6316 M1911A1 Pistol Replica is a captivating and beautiful accessory that adds a touch of history to your collection.

🔗Historical Replica Over Under Toy Pistol

I've been using the Parris Toys Over Under Toy Pistol for a while, and it's quite an interesting piece. The replica gun looks pretty cool, with the required colors as per the law, and a solid one-piece wood stock. It's also fascinating to see how the toy has been designed after the original pistols, complete with a die-cast metal body and plastic parts.
However, there were a couple of moments I faced a bit of frustration. For one, holding the pistol isn't the most comfortable, thanks to the small size and lack of a proper handle. It feels more like a toy than a replica, especially considering you need tiny hands to hold it properly.
On the bright side, the safety features are spot-on, making it impossible to alter the gun for any other purpose than what it's designed for - a cap-shooting toy. Overall, while it's not the most comfortable to hold, it's a great choice for collectors, and it certainly gets the job done for all those who appreciate the thrill of shooting caps.

As a kid, I remember dreaming of being an outlaw in the Wild West, and the Outlaw Pistol brought that dream to life. Crafted with solid die-cast metal and quality plastic, it feels like a real antique gun, just like those used by the famous outlaws of the era. The 12 shot action ring caps provide a satisfying bang that's thrilling and safe.
The holster and belt set add that authentic touch, making it more than just a toy. While the plastic handle may not be the most durable, it's still functional and adds a unique look to the pistol. I did find the size a bit small for my hand, but it works perfectly for my son, who absolutely loves it. Overall, the Outlaw Pistol is a great choice for anyone looking to relive the glory days of the Wild West.

These guns are easy to assemble, but still maintain a level of detail that keeps them true to their real-life counterparts.
With these Little Armory guns, you can arm your action figures with the classic stopping power of the M1911A1 and Commander Type pistols.

In my hands, the Cap Gun Gonher REV-80 felt like a piece of history. With its detailed 1911 army style design, it had an authentic feel that let me step into the shoes of a bygone era. The die-cast metal construction and grips made it durable and comfortable to hold. The 8-shot ring caps added a sense of excitement with each shot, making it fun to use.
However, it did come with its own set of limitations, as a replica that couldn't be altered to shoot a projectile. The law-required color markings and the permanently attached orange plug reminded me that this was a toy first and foremost. Though it might not have been everyone's cup of tea, those who appreciated collecting and using replica firearms found it to be a delight.

2024.06.01 10:55 Jeri_Shea Let's try something a little positive. How would Mark and Jack chill out if they had a day to hang out with one another?

There's been some unnecessary drama and counter drama recently and I think folks are getting too worked up for silly reasons. So, how about this? Presuming their relationship is still amiable, what do you think they'd do if they had all day to hang out and chill? Looking at it like Marks "Perfect Day" distractable episode, how would it go?
7:00 A.M. - Mark get's up early and uses his many ovens to make a massive and multicultural breakfast for the two of them. Jack is overwhelmed and grateful, but eats lightly because otherwise he'd feel heavy all day. Mark laughs it off, and eats a good portion of it while they laugh about fond memoires.

[SALE] DOWNSIZING SALE of My Collection with 71 Figures Continued
Hi Everyone!
This is a continuation from my previous post.
I want to thank everyone who has shown interest in my past previous posts and bought something from me! It has been a big help with life especially because since the beginning of this year I have a family member going through an illness and so I am just downsizing by selling my collection for some extra money for treatment and support. I'm trying my best with selling as much as I can with the time I've got organising this as well as just dealing with all of it.
I'm still needing to sell some of my scale figures/PVC and Nendoroids, so I am continuing my posts here with a total of 71 new and existing figures that I've got organised and ready to sell before posting more.
Payments will be made on PayPal Goods and Services (no fees) for the figure + shipping. I'm also able to accept pay in 4 installments upon request as an option! My price will be charged in AUD but I put a ballpoint cost in USD for reference with the current exchange rates. I am based in Sydney, Australia but I ship worldwide!
Prices may be negotiable or if you have an offer within reason. :)
Please refer to the pictures at the bottom or use this verification: https://imgur.com/a/qpoKWlq
Please let me know if you have more questions, want more photos or clarifications, have an offer, either via PM or in the comments! Thank you!
Also, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming sale posts within the next few weeks from me :)

2024.06.01 10:21 Blu3cactus Why always Brits? (semi-click bait)

Hi guys, I really really don't wanna sound racist towards British tourists. I've been traveling for 13 years and I met LOTS of wonderful people from England BUT:
At this point i spent a lot of time all over Thailand and especially Phucket, i really don't understand why basically every single time i go out to party the night ends up with British guys fighting each othe arguing with other tourists or even worse: threatening and annoying Thai locals.
I know mine are not statistics but I go out every single night until 7/8am with my Thai friends and in a week I see this Brit drama at least 4/5 times.
Also I don't get how they get so drunk even if their alcool tollerance should be extremely high (I assume since they are a heavy drinking culture).
Also happened a couple of times that I tried to help them while they were completely smashed by alcool Just by givng them water and treating then nicely and they told me to go fuck myself or just refused my help in a rude way...
And why do you think they get so hungry? It's a cultural thing and it's normal in England?
Please my interest is genuine I would like to understand why this happens so don't start offensive discussions in comment or if you find this post disrespectful let me know I will consider deleting it cause I understand this might be "offensive" for someone.

2024.06.01 09:56 PM_ME_SMALL__TIDDIES "come on, its not like you are the devil"

Its been fucking 7 years. My mother is not even a JW but is very supportive of the JW lifestyle because i have 4 jw uncles from a total of 13 or so uncles, and a jw sister.
Whenever there is the thing where we have to pass the wine and blood, i dont know the name in english and i dont care enough to look it up, my mom will go, and she will always ask for me to go, and she will always tell me its not like i am the devil to burn away if i enter a kingdom hall.
The temptation to tell her that if i was the devil i would be the one giving the speech is HUGE but i don't want to cause the drama, so i just tell her i won't be going.
Edit:she tells my sister she doesn't wanna be a JW because she is unable to forgive people and thus doesn't feel good enough. Imagine if she knew the kind of people Jehovah accepts for leaders, lol

2024.06.01 09:27 meothfulmode The Common Principles of Health - a synthesis of reading 32 different nutrition books and 30 different papers

Because I am a dork who has been interested in nutrition for years I was curious how much overlap there was between nutrition advice across the medical, scientific, and consumer self-help spectrum. So, I went through and read a whole bunch of books[1] on the subject, government guidelines across the globe, as well as a number of scientific articles (meta-analysis, editorials, etc.) and wrote down all the general principles they suggested.
Then I ran that through ChatGPT 4Omni and asked it to give me a list of the most common principles from most-often repeated to least. The answers were... not surprising! Turns out common sense really is common.[2] I suspect a lot of people will read these and say "yeah, no duh" but it was a fun exercise for me and it increased my confidence in the general intelligence of humanity and the value of the scientific method.
Below is the list of Healthy Habits organized by categories (Diet Principles, Eating Principles, Living Practices) and arranged in order from the greatest impact[3] to the least. So, if you want to try adopting any of these principles into your life start at the top of each list and work your way down.

Healthy Diet Principles

Healthy Eating Principles

Healthy Daily Practices

Notes:
[1] I started by reading through everything at Red Pen Reviews and then I moved onto the best-seller list for diet and nutrition on the NYT and Amazon.
[2] What I did find surprising is how rarely Calorie Counting was mentioned as a healthy habit. It was associated with weight loss in the short term, but most of the meta-analysis showed that over the long term most people gain the weight back so it wasn't considered a "general solution for health and longevity." I've excluded it from the list because it was way low down on the list of principles that GPT spit out and because it feels like a thing one can do on top of these habits, but the habits can also be practiced without writing down what you ate and how many calories were in them.
[3] I use the term "impact" to mean "basically a lot of studies showed significant and strong evidence in observational cohort metaanalysis that doing this is good for you"
