33F, 5’4”, 200lb… chronic cough for months. Initially provider thought cough was caused by heartburn but heartburn medication has not been helping. Cough produces white and yellow phlegm (mostly cleawhite—yellow in the morning). Friends, family, coworkers have all noticed my cough for months and wonder what is wrong. I finally decided to get looked at but it feels like my symptoms are being minimized.
Chest X-ray was normal.
Prescribed albuterol inhaler (by urgent care, not GP) and told to take mucinex DM by GP. Also taking Zoloft, Famotidine.
Symptoms: wheezing, shortness of breath, constant cough that isn’t helped with cough drops or suppressants, anxiety, depression, fatigue
Photo of spirometry results in comments. Do they look normal, as suggested by my doctor? Nurse had hinted at the time that they were below normal. Should I be seeking a second opinion?
I do occasionally smoke cannabis and have a high amount of allergies. Recently adopted a new dog as well and dogs are one of my top allergies. I take a daily Claritin.
Just really worried my symptoms are being minimized by GP. Of if I am sick, im worried I could have an infection or something that requires a steroid or antibiotic.

I get sick at least every month (lately every few weeks) for the past year with terrible cold and flu symptoms (productive cough, runny nose, sore throat, ear pain.) My mucus is blue every time. I have chronic shortness of breath the last year and a MicroGenX swab didn't show anything to indicate why my phlegm is blue. I'm on a second round of amoxicillin-clav per an allergist.

Something weird has happened as of tonight twice now and I think I know what it is but I want to ask around in case I’m wrong.
My cat is 15, always had kidney elevation but kidneys are doing good have went down as of now numbers got better. Blood work and stuff done less than 2 months ago all is great. She just had a UTI gets them a couple times a year. She has just insisted in getting the tiny tasters duck food and won’t touch anything else now but loves it. Exams and everything are great. Active and would never know she’s 15. She weighs 9.33lbs.
She takes one fourth Pepcid every night, I give her d-mannose powder once daily for her chronic UTIs and liquid b-12 as often as I remember.
She always takes doxycycline for her UTIs. Always liquid. This past time 2 weeks ago we tried the pill. At the same time she decided to start sleeping in our shower which she’s never really done before. We’re on the second story and the woman under us is very questionable, we will say that.
One night on the antibiotics she was sleeping in the shower and started howling and trying to find me, she’s walking around and acting like she can’t see anything. She’s bumping into things and I mean it’s scaring the crap out of her. Touch her and she jumps sky high. Pick her up and hold her in the light her eyes were just pitch black no color anywhere and they didn’t constrict or anything in the light. Put her down and she hits the floor like doesn’t even put her legs out. I called ER, they said it’s fine unless she has breathing issues or fever. It lasted maybe 10 mins and she went back to normal.
I got her in immediately the next day with the vet and they did all the tests - her eyes are totally fine no damage. Blood pressure totally normal. I switched her to the liquid doxy again just in case since she never had an issue on the liquid. And yea she has been to a cardiologist the last year because of a heart murmur just to check everything and it all looks great.
It’s been two weeks, and that happened AGAIN tonight. Not on the medicine anymore. BUT she was again sleeping in that shower. For quite awhile. Since that happened she hasn’t spent too much time in there,until tonight. Just this past Tuesday she had a recheck and they did her blood pressure and eyes again just to triple check and make sure and she was absolutely fine. All good.
We are thinking there’s some kind of gas or something coming up in that shower and it’s making her high or something. There’s literally no other explanation. No new meds or anything. My partner picked up a cloth that was over the drain and said it smelt horrible like chemicals and says that’s gatta be it. There will be no more shower sleeping for her.
She’s been eating normal, no vomiting, no sneezing no coughing literally no other things happening that would seem alarming.
Has anyone else ever had anything like that happen? It’s so weird. It has only happened when she’s spent a significant amount of time in that shower at night.

Hi, first time parent here and looking for any advice, support, stories etc as I type this anxious and can’t sleep. My two year old has had a fever now for about 4 days ranging 100-102 but spiking to 104 a couple times, especially at night or later in the day. We took him to urgent care and pediatrician and he tested negative for all viruses and docs said he looks totally healthy. Even his temperament, other than a little cranky later in the day/evening, is really great and he seems normal.
Just worried bc I’ve never seen him have a fever for this long or this high and especially without any other symptoms. We’ve been alternating Tylenol & Motrin but whenever it wears off his fever goes back up.
I should add that I was home sick this week with a bad head cold so when this started I assumed he was picking that up but he hasn’t show any signs of cough or congestion which is what I had.
It’s the weekend so the pediatrician is closed and I worry that taking him to ER or urgent care might result in the same outcome. “Looks healthy, take Tylenol and motrin”.

About three or so weeks ago, one absolutely random night I suddenly felt irritation in my nose and throat as if I was smelling smoke even though there was none around me.
At the time I thought maybe smoke is coming from the outside so I wrote it off as a singular irritation.
However, from that night on I have been having a very congested nose, sometimes runny and a very dry chesty cough that follows for a day or two. It seems to flare up the most in the evenings, especially the cough, and nothing helps. I had periods of fatigue, dizziness, brain fog too, but not persistent.
My nose gets blocked and then unblocked on and off again depending on which environment I'm in or if I'm sitting or standing.
I've never had allergies in my life and this happened very out the blue with no further symptoms.
I went to see my GP as I was getting worried about the cough - however all vitals came back good. Just one thing - very swollen inside of the nose.
He advised it might be sinusitis and prescribed a Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray (UK) and antibiotics. I've been using the spray (albeit incorrectly as I've just found out on this page lol) but haven't touched the antibiotics yet as I doubt it is actually sinusitis. I have no fever, no cheek, forehead or head pressure - nothing. Just a blocked, runny nose, sneezing and the dry cough. And my nose insides do feel swollen, irritated and dry at this point - probably from all the blowing and nasal sprays (which I didn't know can actually dry it out more)
I've been going a bit crazy trying to understand what the hell is up. Thought it might be heart related even - but then I came across the definition of Non-allergic rhinitis and it seems to be fitting my situation the most.
Could it be it and is there any good relief for it in UK?
P.S. I have undergone a rhinoplasty back in 2019. Not sure if that could relate to anything so far later..

I don’t reply, and for the next hour or so I ignore the pleading and hinting Trenchcoat does.
But that night, as I sip acidic tea, and try to get a handle on how in the fuck old televisions function, his offer is at the forefront of my mind.

He wants me to think this is some kind of noble act, he frames it as almost superheroic. The evil prick knows how I feel, knows that I see the blood on my hands every day, and would kill ( possibly literally) for some way to atone.
Is it a play? I honestly don’t think so, something about how eager the twisted thing is, about how he’s treating the situation as a buyer’s market makes me think something about this makes it important to him.
He offers me everything besides safety and protection. I’m desperate for help, but I have no way to hold him to any agreement.

Confidence and fear are both dangerous emotions. The two of them are almost like drugs in a way.

As I stand in the litter strewn basement, beside a creature with child murder on it’s mind I question the decision that I made.
At first the illumination is dim, nothing more than scraps of moonlight filtered through splintered wood. But with an industrial click, suddenly a half dozen lightbulbs bathe the basement in harsh, yellowish light.
Harsh, but not harsh enough to cause the reaction I see from Trenchcoat.
He squints and tries, unsuccessfully to turn away from the lights. Something about them is causing him discomfort. I get my hopes up for a moment he’s going to burst into flame or turn into dust or something, but no dice.
The sight of the walking nightmare looking pained and confused makes me panic. But before I can think of how I fucked up, I hear a voice.
The room, by the sounds of it, the entire house, has been rigged with speakers. Cleverly recessed in sconces and corners.
“Augi, long time no see. And I see you brought a little Renfield fella with you. “ The voice is modulated, Trenchcoat looks curious for a moment.

Trenchcoat turns and looks toward the window we came in. He reaches a hand toward it, stopping a few inches away.

I file that information with the rest of the disconnected lore I’ve managed to find on Trenchcoat as I follow him up the steep, narrow set of stairs.
He whips the thin wood door open, taking an aggressive, lurching step into the livingroom beyond. Surely ready to dispense too far quips and limitless violence, as per usual.
But that doesn’t happen, his rage filled scowl turns into a look of resignation, “Fuck”, is the monster’s last word before he disappears.
I cautiously walk up the loose splinter ridden stairs, expecting Augustus to be waiting around the corner, or engaged in combat with some other horror.
But once I get to the top, there’s nothing more sinister than a livingroom covered in dust and graffiti strewn with old bottles and new stains.
I know my chance when I see it. The particle board sealing the bay window is rotten, the glass long since broken.
No monster, no crazy family, I’ll take my chances with the streets of the U. K.
I tap the crumbling wood with a foot, it rattles, it won’t take much to make a hole.
I line up a kick, freedom no more than a quarter inch of rotten wood away.
“I wouldn’t do that. “ Says a voice behind me, male, around my age I’d guess, but with a confidence that makes me listen, “ Rigged with a load of C4 in the window frame.

I nod, apprehensive at giving any kind of detailed response.

We tie him up until all of this is done, and we get some video of him putting a blade into the body upstairs. He goes telling any stories, it’s us and the locals versus some Yank on video stabbing the kid. “ Liam suggests.
I tried to fight, it went, embarrassingly. Kent had me on the ground in some kind of arm lock in about a second.
I’m bound to an old wooden chair with electrical cords, dragged into a room on the second floor where the chubby kid from before lays face down in a coagulated pool of his own blood. Surrounded by the trappings of misspent youth.
The door locks, and I stare at the corpse, wondering what in the hell went on up here, and in what universe are these psychopaths anything other than what they seemed on screen.
Time becomes almost malleable. I’m terrified to the point where every moment seems to stretch out forever.
Then, I hear it. A wet, organic noise. It starts below the body, and slowly starts to spread.
After a minute or two, the body starts to jerk and twitch. The room is dim as hell, but some kind of ropey, flesh-like substance, is sealing off the door.
I watch as the corpse clumsily gets to it’s feet. It’s skin pale, it’s throat slit to the point of near decapitation.
The head falls backward, obscenely with a small spurt of thick blood.
I scream, I thought I’d been getting used to being face to face with monsters. But fully bound, inches away from a kid that seems to be filled with a twisting mass of barbed, writhing, intestine like tentacles, I realize I’m not used to shit.
The ropey mass forms the barest suggestion of features, a shifting, lumpen mass of ever moving tendrils coming from what used to be the kid’s neck.
The sound spreads more, cracks in the floorboards and walls begin to show hints of the tendrils filling them in like spray foam.
No one is hearing my screams, or if they are, they have no interest in helping.

I started by pissing myself.
The second the thin tendril touches my hand, I feel a blinding, flensing pain. I can do nothing but watch, as thousands of nearly hair thin spines tear and consume my flesh. As it slowly, almost, curiously makes it’s way up my arm, it leaves a bloodless, scarred furrow about an eighth of an inch deep.
My second reaction was to lose any pretense at defiance or dignity. I thrash and scream, beg and offer. All of this turning into choked sobs as the thing starts to do much of the same with another tendril.
It felt like I was in hell, every inch of me nothing more than a canvas for this artist of misery.
But pain, it can only go so far. Whether we’re talking about my tolerance, or this thing’s interest.
Mutilation, the brutal wedding of pain and loss. That was it’s next step.
A thick, almost centipede like tendril sits on my pinky like a hot iron. I can only watch in horror as I see fat, then muscle, then bone, then, nothing.
My voice shreds, I tear my wrists and ankles trying desperately to break the expertly tied wires.
My mind is at the breaking point, the creature in front of my makes a terrible, high pitched keening I assume is laughter.
My body is a roadmap of scarred pits and lines. My hand sports a cleanly severed finger. Fuck me, I wish things ended there.
Of all the important parts of the human body, the eye, tends to feel the least pain. Which isn’t to say, as I watched the greedy, grasping claws slowly take pieces of one of mine, it didn’t hurt, but the worst part, was knowing what was happening.
The vision in my left eye begins to distort at first, the edges getting blurry, then going dark. Bit by bit, chunk by irreplaceable chunk, the creature takes half my vision.

My brain feels filled with static, for a few brief moments I swear, I can hear someone, a voice, trying to tell me something.
But then, a smell hits me. Something so foul, so alien, it yanks me back from the brink of disassociation. I gag and choke, as the air becomes thick with the rotten, chemical reek.
Then, I see it, I see, him.
As randomly as he disappeared, in an instant Trenchcoat is in the room.
He’s torn apart, wounds so deep and ragged, I can see the door on the other side of the room through the worst of them.
One arm is a twisted, broken mess, the flesh jacket torn to shreds of necrotic tissue.
The look on his face is panic, paranoia. A rictus grin of someone that has been kept on his toes for entirely too long.
He trembles and heaves, looking like he could fall over at any second.
He points his good arm at the tendril creature, who I notice has a too familiar eye suspended in it’s shifting features.
“You wouldn’t happen to know anything about the motherfucker who just made me kill my favorite cousin, would you? “ Trenchcoat asks, his voice cracked, and strained.
He gets a confused keening in response.
“Bad day for you then. “ Augustus says.
There is no style to his violence, Trenchcoat grabs the shifting mass, his wicked, claw tipped fingers angling themselves in tendrils. As he lifts the thing, floorboards break, and it’s torn free from the root-like system it was creating in the room.
Three brutal slams cover me in ichor and pieces of creature. Trenchcoat tosses the mewling, twitching pile in a corner and looks at me with disgust.
“You let that thing do this to you? Fuckin’ pathetic, bud.
And who tied you up? “ The nightmare I’ve been cursed with chides me.
“The kids downstairs. “ I say only now realizing I’ve still been sobbing.
One handed, Trenchcoat snaps the wires, then stumbles backward, slowly sliding down the wall.
He coughs, grey, bloody phlegm hitting the ground.
“So, what’s the play here? If this shit broke you, I could use the spare parts, if not, well, you know what the Bible says.

I recently had a sexual encounter with a guy I met through a dating app. I had him over at my apartment; he sat on my couch, and I started sucking his D. Did that for a couple of minutes, after which we moved to my bed; both got naked.
At this point, I did notice he had a bunch of little red dots between his thighs (didn’t look too alarming). Ignoring it and thinking it was probably just a heat rash or skin condition, we continued. After a little while, he asked me to fuck him, and so I did, wearing a condom, of course. Unfortunately, the condom broke in the middle of it, so I quickly pulled out, put on a new condom, and continued.( I know stupid). This went on for about 35 minutes. All fine, we cleaned up, and he went home. The next morning, I noticed my tonsils were swollen. I get strep often, so I immediately went to the doctor and got tested for it. It came out negative, but the doctor prescribed me antibiotics anyway. So, I did the 10-day course, and on day 8, I noticed my tonsils were still very swollen, with white dots, a clear sign of an infection. So, I went back to my doctor and asked to be tested for STDs, including HIV. A week after that, I got my results and came out negative for everything. However, my tonsils are still swollen, so now I'm very worried I have something that just hasn't been detected on any test l've done. Today I went to my doctor again, he tested me for strep and came out negative again. We continued talking, and had a conversation about me possibly becoming antibiotic resistant, so he prescribed me a different kind of antibiotic. This is only 5 days twice a day, I started today so I’m hopeful this was the case.
Anyways, taking all this in, I have thought about everything that happened that day. I remember instead of lube, this guy brought a bottle of baby oil, which, after some research, I found out was the reason why the condom broke. So now, I'm terrified that this guy knew this and did it on purpose. I'm creating all these scenarios in my head. What if the guy had HIV and he knew all along, so he looked for ways to spread it without making it seem obvious? What if he did research and found out baby oil breaks condoms easily? I'm really scared, despite all my tests coming out negative. It has only been two weeks, so this really doesn't mean I don't have anything.
I also forgot to mention that right under my jaw, two days after I finished my antibiotics, I noticed I had a bump under my right side of the jaw. Which again is clear sign of a bacterial or viral infection of the throat.

his meow has slowly started getting raspier over the past 2-3 days. i first just thought that it was his croaky little morning meows since i leave the home for 85% of the day at a very early hour (sometimes he isn’t even home until after im asleep). anyway, he cannot yawn all the way and is repeatedly gagging :((( im also worried because he shows abnormal irritation when his back is being touched - no pain or anything from what i have tested, but he is strangely sensitive??? from what it sounds like it seems as if he has really bad phlegm / congestion coughing but for cats? idk.. i’ve searched and found cat laryngitis or common respiratory infections as common results. he is indoor-outdoor and does not have any sensitivities that we know of .
i’m very worried about my little guy, seeing as he is almost 10 years old now . anything to help my little guy is greatly appreciated and I’ll do my best to keep him in the most comfortable situation until we can get him in for a checkup 🙏

So, my dad and I are rebuilding the balcony and stairs of an old house, and in terms of sawdust, I've been pretty okay about either stepping away from the massive clouds of sawdust that he creates or holding my breath and quickly sawing whatever it is that I'm cutting and then subsequently running away from the cloud while swatting at the dust like a ninja. Yes, it's not the best strategy and I know a mask would be profoundly more helpful, but it's amazing how quickly my dad's old school habits rubbed off on me. Not to blame him (but also yeah, sorta blaming him), but he makes it look like it ain't no thing to just cut stuff willy nilly without fussing over a mask...which is obviously appealing to me because who wants to keep putting on masks every 2 minutes...especially when it's 90 degrees out, amirite?! (I'm very wrong)
So, fast forward to yesterday, and I'm countersinking and drilling about 200 pilot holes for the steps...and seeing as i have the upper body strength of a frog...I'm doing a lot of leaning into the drill to use my body weight to do all of the work for me ('cuz i'm a girl with shamefully weak arms). Which means, my face was about 6 inches away from the action and a lot of pressure treated dust got inhaled by my big stupid nose.
My question is - how bad is it that I likely breathed in about 4 hours worth of dust? I know that I definitely got some of it in my lungs because my chest, throat and back were feeling really uncomfortable and last night i woke up in a coughing fit and I felt like i was drowning from the phlegm and the coughing (yum, right?!). It still feels a bit raw in the chest and throat area, but I do feel a bit better today...and I obviously totally wore mask all day today...obviously.
BUT...the anxious person inside of me is wondering if I need to plan to look for an oxygen tank in a few years...? Was that enough to potentially do damange?

26 female. Major diagnoses: congestive heart failure as a result of illness (covid) from 2022.
Smaller diagnoses: chronic migraines, some mental illness.
I take a slew of meds for heart failure and depression/anxiety; I’ll provide a list if someone thinks it’s relevant.
May 15th, I started a dry cough. Symptoms worsened over the next few days (the usual: runny nose, sore throat, coughing horribly, fever, shortness of breath) until I finally went to the ER on May 19th. They said I had pneumonia and told me to come back on a hair trigger if I felt like I was getting worse. They administered doxycycline via IV and gave me two azithromycin pills; sent me home with a prescription for six more azithromycin to be taken once a day, along with a script for an albuterol inhaler.
That said…my dad had a nebulizer breathing treatment machine thing and tubes of albuterol for it. He hasn’t used it in a while so he sterilized it and gave it to me because I was having such a bad time trying to breathe that first week. I’ve done 3?4? treatments with it, one or two that first week (not anymore because I just never felt like cleaning and setting it up each time, I felt that bad), and 2 in the last two days when my mom forced me to bc by the end of the day I’m still struggling to breathe.
I really should have gone back to the ER, because I DID get worse in those few days after leaving the ER, but I did not want to be admitted to the hospital after what happened last time. Looking back I wish I had; these last couple weeks have SUCKED.
I’ve since improved, but still been coughing pretty frequently and having a runny nose. This entire time I’ve been coughing up mucous that’s varied from clear to yellow. I’ve also been sneezing up very thick yellow or white mucous.
This morning, after doing an albuterol breathing treatment last night, I coughed up more mucous. For the most part it was clear, but I saw some flecks of blood, which was odd. A little bit later I coughed so more up and there was still some blood flecks. No big deal, whatever, I’ve been able to breathe pretty well today.
However, it’s late now and I just coughed up so more mucous with a significantly more prominent blood spot in it. The mucous is pretty obviously pinkish red with a couple of flecks of bright blood. It was significant enough that I could taste the iron when it came up.
Should I be worried or is this normal? The ER doc didn’t really tell me what to expect as far as recovery goes; I think he expected me to come back…

So my family and I have been sick for a week, we finally went to an urgent care today, and the doctor basically said it was severe allergies. I have hella congestion, cough etc. I was prescribed a few things that when I google says it has an interaction with escitalopram (mostly warning of serotonin syndrome). But doctor and pharmacist say it’s fine? Help? lol. Anyone else have experience with this? Here’s what I was prescribed today: Promethazine Azithromycin Albuterol (inhaler) Prednisone
Thought it was kind of weird he gave me all this, I don’t have a fever, and feel pretty okay besides congestion and cough. TIA ❤️

Context: Male, 19, 5’10” about 120lbs. I’ll preface that I just finished moving a week ago and have been sick with common cold like symptoms (cough, runny nose, slight sore throat), and I haven’t been good on exercising this past year or so, so my body is on the weaker side
About 2 or 3 days ago I started getting pains in my lower right abdomen that have lasted pretty consistently since then. They’re sharp, almost cramp like pains. I’ve dealt with abdominal pains for years so usually I think nothing of it when I do get pain, but i’ve always heard that pain in your bottom right abdomen is linked to appendicitis. It doesn’t make a difference when I walk, press down on the part where it hurts or when I press down on the other side, and I don’t have a fever, nausea/vomiting, or loss of appetite which I heard all were signs of appendicitis. There are some instances where i’ll be positioning myself though and it does hurt a tad more.
I’ve told my parents about my symptoms, and they’ve reassured there’s nothing wrong with me, but i’m a hypochondriac and can’t help but worry i’ve got some serious issue any-time I get a little bit of pain so I can’t help but ask for an outsider opinion.

Hello everyone… I’m a FTM and my 9 month old is sick for the first time… with Covid. We all have Covid actually, and it’s really knocked me down (which is weird bc I have had it twice before and had zero symptoms). This time has been absolutely terrible. Anyway, my biggest worry is my baby. He started to get fevers, cough, and a slight runny nose. Every. Single. Time. We tried to give him medicine for his fever, he projectile vomited. I’m wondering if I’m triggering his gag reflex or something? The third time we tried with a special paci for medicine and as soon as he got the taste, he puked. We had to go the suppository route. He just seems so out of it and tired. He is still breastfeeding at least. Im counting wet diapers. But I’m completely panicking inside. On a 1-10 scale, my anxiety is at like a 15. I wonder if I should sleep on the floor in his room but my husband thinks we should not mess with his normal routine. We do have a camera and an owlet. I just keep thinking like worst case scenario, so is there someone out there who’s baby got sick with Covid and then got better without any problems? Please share so I can replace my current thoughts with happier ones. I just wish I could chill out. Parenting while sick is tough. Parenting a sick baby while sick sucks even more. I just wish I didn’t add fuel to the fire with anxiety 😵‍💫 anyway, I’d love to hear your Covid baby stories. Thank you 🙏🏽 (also open to any advice)

I got general anesthesia today for a uterine polyp removal. After waking up from a nap, I have a bit of a sore throat and a cough. I'm also a little congested. No fever and other than that I feel fine. Is this nornal? I was under for less than an hour. Thank you!

Hey y’all. Just posting because I’m feeling so sad and need some reassurance. This weekend is my best friend’s bachelorette party, and even though I have an 8 week old, this is my second baby and I’m a pumping pro from my first, so I felt comfortable to go. I’m not exaggerating when I say I spent ALL DAY prepping for this (between cleaning/sanitizing, doing my usual meal prep that I wouldn’t be here for, caring for the baby, etc.). When husband came home from work, he was losing his voice and had a cough. We took his temperature and it was 99.8, which I know is not a fever, but feels like it’s getting there.
I started feeling nervous about leaving the baby with a sick caregiver (even with masking) and started panicking. The party started Thursday night, so I was already arriving later than everyone to minimize nights away, and it’s a 5 hour drive. My plans to leave after dinner meant that I would get there around 11 pm (with a pump break in the middle), so hemming and hawing about cancelling was already pushing the timeline. I texted the group to let them know and said that I would reassess in the morning if he doesn’t have a fever.
I am SO upset. I feel like I can’t go because I’d never forgive myself if my baby got sick, but I was really looking forward to time away with my best friends. In addition, this friend of mine is so amazing and supportive of everyone and has had a lot of shit support now that it’s her turn to get married. Several people from the bridal party dropped from the trip last minute, one of them has not been to a single bridal event, and there were issues with the Airbnb upon arrival that they tried to get a refund for and were unsuccessful.
I know I have a good excuse, but I feel awful for my friend and hate that this is happening last minute. I wish I had decided not to go earlier, but I really thought I’d be fine. Any words of encouragement or advice? Am I overreacting to the sickness thing? Is there a good way to make it up to my friend? Thanks in advance ❤️

16. Caleb (The Best First Boot) - Just a reminder that this list only takes S1 into account (in case you got used to Caleb dead last already) so of course I don't HATE this Caleb. There's nothing to hate here. While the character itself didn't really do anything, I like the role he plays in the narrative, being by far the best first boot in this show. Long gone are the days of the first elimination being some idiot nobody likes getting everybody to hate them for the sake of it! She says, planning on writing about Season 2 later

15. Axel (Totally Not An Expy) - While I'm usually not a fan of comparing characters and going "this character is basically just X mixed with Y!!", I have a hard time believing Axel wasn't made with being Neo-Eva in mind. She was angry and left second and that's it... And that did make me really curious as to what they'd do with Axel in the rematch. But that's for later.
Remember when everyone thought Axel was gonna be awesome because of this shot?
14. Nichelle (I HATE YOU JERRY!!!) - This might come off as a surprise, but I don't actually dislike Nichelle. She had an interesting concept (famous teen actress going to TD for exposure) with a neat execution (got "exposed" as a fraud on TV, disappointing her fans and leaving determined to improve herself). It was clear she wasn't meant to be "complete" in Season 1, and was just being set up for a bigger story in S2, and there's nothing really wrong with that! We'll see how that went later.

I think all comparisons to Zoey and Sky are incredibly silly and a bit dumb, the only thing they have in common is being athletic, and Priya actually has a personality. Yes, it was clear from the start that she was created with being the winner in mind, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, with Priya having an unique concept (raised by TD fans) and fun interactions and dynamics with the other characters, making her obvious win be satisfying nonetheless (take NOTES, Sky). And even after everything, there is still a good setup for things she could do in the rematch, such as addressing her home life and the way she was raised. Boy, I sure hope that happens!

12./11. Wayne & Raj (Thing 1 & Thing 2) - After Katie & Sadie and Amy & Sammy, I didn't expect to see a 'duo character' I'd actually like. I always knew they wouldn't be the gay couple like most people expected, as it would've been a boring approach, but I did suspect ONE of them would be part of it. And I was right, Raj having a self-discovery moment during the show was very sweet, and so was Wayne being a supportive ally to his bestie, it's a really great message to send to the kids who watch the show (and part of why I don't really like gay Wayne headcanons, it takes away the impact of him being 100% supportive of his best friend despite not being queer himself). Small complaints though, I think it would've been nice if we got to know Raj's thoughts on his coming out instead of just Wayne's, and the 'package deal' characters being eliminated together isn't really my cup of tea either. I don't mind it that much though, because surely Season 2 will separate them and have them be apart from each other for a few episodes, right? ...R-Right?

Great (A Tier)

10. MK (Parody Of Annoying Celebrity, Somehow Good) - If you know me, or at least have seen my profile picture, then this placement is probably a surprise. S1 MK is probably one of the most unique concepts this show has had.A thief who takes her castmates' belongings? Fun. Hacking the confessional camera to watch everyone's confessionals? Interesting. Intentionally floating to fly under the radar? Very interesting. Annoying snarker? Yes please. Overall? Great combo. She's only really "low" on this list because she left before being able to put, well, any of her plans in practice. Fortunately, there's still season 2, where we'll see a lot more of her unique strategy and villainy, for sure!!!!

9. Damien (Best Design, Hands Down) - And the winner of most unique character concept goes to... Yeah, him. Some guy who's never seen Total Drama and doesn't know what he signed up for? You're crazy if you don't think that's one of the most fun ideas for a new character you've seen. He used a concept other characters failed at (being the token normal/straight man) and made it work! Damien (in season 1) is probably the closest this show has ever had to just having a real person: Being flabbergasted at the insanity that happens in cartoon-land that other characters don't react to, without being played as the "haha token coward afraid of everything", which is something not usually done (...We'll get to season 2 later.). His early exit was sad, but made sense, this wasn't meant to be his season. We all know he was being given an easy, impossible to mess up, set-up for a bigger role in the rematch! There is no way to do this wrong!

8. Julia (wth is a buttknuckle) - "omg what!! why is queen slay girlboss Julia not in top3 you know shes perfect slay gaslight gatekeep girlb-" Shut up. God. Very annoying fanbase aside, S1 Julia was a fun twist antagonist. The 'good vibes, vegan crystal girlie' instagram influencer being a sour, evil douchebag behind the scenes? Great bit, we all know most of them are like this in real life. Her villainy is criticized by some people for being "too Heather-like", which I disagree with. Sure, her constant immunity wins may seem like heavy plot armor, but unlike Island Heather, others weren't constantly dumbed down to make it work, most of her wins weren't due to dumb luck, (like Heather in Search and Do Not Destroy) and most importantly, Julia was full of flaws. She was a challenge beast, yes, but the constant immunities were the only things she had, for the show goes on its way to show her game otherwise is horrible. Her social game is atrocious, due to being unnecessarily rude to everyone, she had no alliances (and when she did they didn't last a day) and most of her attempts to scheme backfired. Remember when she tried to make Emma vote for Chase and that somehow resulted in them getting back together? Like, wow, making Emma want to vote for Chase is NOT a hard task, girlie, come on. Julia's flaws keep her character grounded and make her stand out from other villains. God, can you imagine if she was like Heather, and everyone got dumbed down to make her look more competent and cause stupid eliminations? That would suck! Not like that'd ever happen though, haha.

7. Emma (Cringe Girl /affectionate) - God, she's so cringe (/pos). When I saw her face in Chase's intro, I knew there was going to be juicy drama and I'd live for it, but I was not expecting THAT trainwreck. I don't even know how to proceed with this paragraph properly without just calling her cute or stupid (affectionate) and calling it a day. I can't imagine the writers didn't have fun writing her and her extreme emotions; There's a lot of characters the fandom labeled as being "neurodivergent-coded", and while I see the vision with most of them, I think people overlook Emma as one (or maybe I'm just projecting onto her, whatever).While I don't like Chemma as a ship, I can't deny that they have a great dynamic, though it's funnier when it's Emma hating Chase while he tries to win her back, so Chemma getting back together at the end was a bit of a letdown. I do hope season 2 gives us more Chase and Emma individually without both of them being attached to each other though (clueless).

6. Millie (WOAH! GOOD WRITING!? IN MY TOTAL DRAMA!?) - Now, I know what some of you are probably thinking; "Millie is a horrible character she floated!!" "She foated and had to be carried by Priya!!" "She's a horrible friend she wrote mean things about Priya!!" Shut up shut up shut up. Millie haters, you guys are weak and aren't surviving the winter. Anyways, Millie makes me extremely happy, she has what I consider to be one of the best cases of character development in TD: First arriving with the intent of writing a thesis about how Gen Z is really stupid, befriending someone for the first time, growing to regret ever writing bad things about the others, and then being confronted about it and having to work to patch up her friendship with Priya? Total Drama hasn't had an arc this good in ages, and people think Millie is a bad character? I'm sorry, do you miss Skave or something? I totally understand not liking Millie due to finding her boring or uninteresting,those are valid reasons, but if you dislike Millie because you think she's a "bad person" who "didn't deserve being forgiven" (the amount of people I've seen say this is concerning), then I'm sorry, but I think you're stupid.

5. Scary "Lauren" Girl (I don't care if she's one-note stfu) - Scary Girl is a character I've noticed to be pretty divisive. The people who love her do so because they think she's pretty funny, and the people who hate her think she's a one-note gimmick. I'm the former, obviously, I see a lot of people complain that they find Scary Girl to be "overrated", (1. Not a valid reason to dislike a character 2. She literally isn't. Stop throwing that word around, it's already losing it's meaning) and while I do understand why people wouldn't like her, because yeah she does only have 1 joke, I think that one joke is really funny and consistently lands. Also I'd just like to point out that a lot of comic relief characters aren't very varied in terms of humor either but I don't think the fandom is ready to accept that yet. The hockey bros also only have 1 joke and it's less funny than Lauren's Oops, who said that? Wasn't me! Must've been the wind!

4. Ripper (do you think Ripper has a fursona? no? just me? okay then) - Ripper in S tier?! I know, scandalous! "But you're not supposed to like Ripper he's a mean bully who farts and is gross he's like Owen!!" Shut up, NERD. Anyway, I'm not really fond of toilet humor, but Ripper made up for it by having a lot of hilarious jokes outside of farting (something people will insist is his entire character) and he has some depth that could use some more exploring, such has his home life and his relationship with his parents. Pretty much every dynamic he had with other characters, even if short, were bangers, proving that his character is super versatile. Chase, Zee, Priya, Millie, Axel, Damien... He just works with anyone. Him, Bowie and Millie are the three characters I believe you can pair up with literally anyone, and you can squeeze a good dynamic out of it.
Ripper knows we love him, because he's based.
3. Zee (I don't have a joke for this one bear with me) - I don't have much to say about him like everyone else, because Zee is a simple character. He's really funny, and that's it, and it just works. Dude's hysterical and that's why I love him. Yeah

2. Chase (Horrible Person, Hilarious Character) - Another probably controversial take, and I just know a certain someone on this sub will be very happy with this placement. Chase is, in my eyes, the best comic relief in this show, part of it is because of how unique and specific the joke with him is. We have a million "comically stupid" characters at this point, and we (or I) still love them regardless, but having a comedic character with a different brand of humor makes them stand out more. Chase is so unapologetically a jerk, and that's what makes him so funny to me. He's not a complete idiot like Tyler, Max, Raj, Wayne, Zee and Ripper are, in fact, in s1 he shows a lot of intelligence and common sense for a comic relief character, it's just that he's such a self-centered douchebag that he doesn't see anything wrong with his actions while everyone else recognizes him as a horrible individual, and that makes him so unique in the sea of "idiot men" characters that is TD. Episode 10 was one of the best episodes in the whole series, and the biggest contributors to that? Come on, you know it's him and Emma. They are everything, they are the moment.
\"Chase how many people did you run over that day?\" Chase:
1. Bowie (Drama King and Queen) - When I first saw his design in the promo, I admit I was very afraid? Not because I didn't think a stereotypically gay character could work, but because this is Total Drama. I was afraid they'd mess up and accidentally make the most offensive shit ever like the last few times they tackled minorities (cough cough Mike). When I first watched the season? All worries left my body in an instant. My God? STRATEGY?! IN TOTAL DRAMA? That isn't just an evil villain manipulating everyone using plot armor??? It was a BLESSING to see, even if I was a little upset he got villanized by the end of the season, it does show that TD will always portray ambition to win as inherently evil and something that needs to be punished (and it certainly doesn't make me very excited for future seasons' villains). For what it's worth, I enjoyed watching an actual strategist character onscreen that was neither fully evil or a moron the writers wanted to believe you to be smart, that makes Bowie the first ever. Also the queer rep? Really awesome. I loved his relationship with Raj, and how healthy it was compared to other TD relationships, and I love how it shows a "villain"/strategy focused player can be a good person/partner. It felt so surreal (in a good way) watching a TD character that wears gender non-conforming clothes and has a very flamboyant and sassy personality. Bowie also has some of the best quotes in the season ("MEEE!" and "Oh my, did I do that? Yes I diiiiid! I'm going to be a MILLIONAAAAAAAIRE!" are some of the best ones)

Final Thoughts: Overall, excellent cast! the only characters below B tier are the first three boots. A great and colorful cast in a good season filled with great writing, and there's even a second season after it? This is a recipe for success, surely the second season will be as great as the first one, if not better, right? Right?
