Quinceanera cake pictures

Alright, so, extremely stupid question. At the bakery section in Jewel-Osco, you can order a cake to be made. But they also have a bunch of cakes and stuff already set up with price tags and everything in the little freezer display area. Are you allowed to just take the cakes from the area and pay for them or do you have to alert the people working in the bakery section that you’re taking one of the cakes?

I'll be leaving uni for home in a few days time, but I just got off the phone after talking with my parents and siblings and had felt triggered about the past 2 years and how I almost commited suicide because of all the stress and pressure of putting up with what had transpired. For context, I'm 24 (F) in my last year of uni, and I have two brothers 30(M) and (5M) who live with my parents (Both in their late 50's), who live in the country side. I had been diagnosed with heart disease when I was in highschool and since then things have been tough for me, with losing all my weight and having to go through three different schools just to complete high school because of my health, but since then I have got the hang of taking care of myself and my symptoms, I have gained weight, made it to uni (which was a suprise not only to myself but my teachers as well) and am almost done with uni, and I could not be prouder. However, this past week has been a roller coaster, with thoughts of committing suicide lurking in every corner, I didn't know why at first but after talking to my parents on the phone bits of memories came flooding back to me about how I thought I reached my point of living and that my heart was gonna give out any moment or that it would be better if I'd just off myself with that sharp knife in the corner by slitting my wrists open. You see, my mum had this really bad lung infection the Christmas of 2022 while I was home for the holidays, and I took on most of the responsibility of taking care of her from 5am in the morning to the next morning where I'd sleep at 3am after ensuring she was okay, then wake up to do it all again. Don't get me wrong, I loved taking care of my mum, it made me happy that I could be there when she was at her weakest to lend her the strength and care she deserved after taking care of me all these years. It all happened one afternoon when my brother has come home afted being gone all day and did not even receive an earful from my parents (or mainly my dad) like I did for being out for just 2 hours to unwind from taking care of my mum and nursing her back to health all while not having any contact with friends or the outside world then our yard for almost 2 months, I was called selfish by my dad and told that my actions were stupid that if my mum would die I'd look stupid crying for her just like my mum's sister who chose to go out and meet friends the day her father died, that I was supposed to be at home with mum taking care of her. My dad is a stay at home dad, my older brother dropped out of college and my mum is the sole bread winner of the family. While my mum was sick, my dad would get groceries, attend to church meetings, ensure the yard was kept clean lend a hand when it was needed with caring for mum while my brother ate, slept on time, had time to meet friends, throw his plates in the sink without washing them and not lending a hand with helping mum. Meanwhile I spent my days bathing her, dressing her, feeding her, massaging her body, changing her hot water in her mugs to ensure she stayed hydrated because that's all she could drink without coughing , cleaning her sleeping area and sanitizing it everytime she had to go to bed after a warm bath as well as watching over her as she slept to ensure her pillows were placed in a way that didn't obstruct her airflow all while also ensuring that everyone's laundry was done and put away, food was cooked and served, plates were washed and put away, my little brother was cared for also while doing part of my dad's work around the house to ensure he got enoughg sleep at night, since we lived by the country side there were a lot of chores to do around the house as most of the things were done manually or by hand. I did this until she got back on her feet and was able to do little things around the house without my help. After a week or two when my mum had improved told my parents that I'll be gone the next day after lunch to see my friend and that normally before mum got sick Friday was a free day for me that I get an off day of doing house work. So the day came, I dressed up (I felt pretty after not being able to do that in a whole) and left after ensuring that my big brother was home to assist mum whenever she needed and also checked on my mum to see if she was okay and that she didn't need my help before I stepped out of the house at 2pm. The walk to my friend's house felt like heaven, with sun in my face, the breeze on my face and the skip in my step. I spent the afternoon talking, laughing and having a good time with my friend before going home at 5pm, happy and satisfied that the day had brought me so much joy and relieved my stress. I got and came in with a big Hello, to everyone in the house, my dad didn't say anything, he just sat there looking so mad. And that's when he proceeded to call me selfish and compare me to my mother's sister all while my mother and brother sat there saying nothing, I atleast thought they would've spoken up to say that I needed the break, but they didn't. I cried as ai stood there listening to my dad utter out harsh words until I couldn't listen to him anymore. I proceeded muster up a less shaky voice and said the following "I apologies for going out to see my friend and I apologies mum and dad it won't happen again, but the thing is I needed this, after taking care of mum and the house I just needed a break. My brother gets to go out, meet friend and talk to them and even stay out till late but he never gets scolded but when I do it's different. I do everything in this house, I take care of mum, wash all of your clothes, cook the food, feed you all and even wash up after everything and you big brother can't even wash your own plate or lend a hand. Oh and dad I spend the time I get after mum finally rests during the day to do some of your chores to cut down the amount of time you spend doing them in order for you to get a good night's rest and I go to sleep early in the morning just to wake up after 2 hours and do it all again. So I'm sorry that I had to go out, but I really needed it." After saying all that, I went up to my room and cried the whole night. The next morning I came downstairs at 10am to find my dad washing up and my mum on her phone, it was a quiet day, I thought my brother was in his room, then the we got heard that he had actually left in the morning to go visit my aunt who is a 30 minute drive from our house, where he spent the day hanging out with friends and cousins before coming back home at 6pm with my grandma who came to spend a week with us. My dad upon hearing the news that my brother was had left in the morning just shook his head and said that my brother should have stayed and lend a hand around the house, but after my brother got back I was hoping he'd get the same scolding my dad gave me, well that never happened. I went to my mum and asked her why wasn't daddy scolding my big brother and she did not say anything so I spoke up and said aloud, "wow, so I get a scolding for staying out for just 3 hours but he gets to stay out for an entire day without helping out around here and he gets welcomed home?" I then went to my room because I didn't want them to see the tears that started to fall, then it hit me when I was in my room crying, everything that happened over the years on how differently I was treated, my accomplishments my birthday's and even my sickness. It hit me how differently I was treated, my brother had big graduation foods prepared and his graduations were celebrated from primary all the way to high school and little courses while I just had a well done from my parents even after taking in prices since I was in elementary, thought they'd take me out to eat a celebratory lunch after my high school graduation because it was the hardest part of my life to pass but all I got was a disgusted look and a 'thats what your wearing?' after at my graduation after I took my gown off to take pictures. I can't remember the time I blew out candles for my birthday or when a party was thrown for me, but my brother somehow has a cake for most of his birthdays and he had a really big party once with four big cakes, a whole roasted pig, lots of food and even had all his friends invited. When i reaches the age of 14, the same age he was when my parents threw him a party, I thought I'd have the same too, but I didn't, and still had not one party until I turned 24. The day I turned 23, was a month after my mum got better, I spent the whole day cooking for everyone, was wished happy birthday after realising it was my birthday, I then told them I'd come down to eat later after I take a nap and that they should serve the food and leave mine on the dining table. I came down to find they ate most of the food, and I was only placed only a bit of food in my plate. I got mad and hit my plate on the table with just a little food spilling over, my dad saw this and screamed at me and told me that my future husband would beat me up and that my life will be miserable and bad because of what I did. Well you guessed it, I went back to my room crying, and that blade in my bag looked so tempting against my wrists. I also remember when my brother dropped out of college that I was blamed by my parents, with my dad telling me on my way back from the grocery store that I'm the reason my brother ended up like how he is because they show me too much favour growing up. And when my big brother was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after dropping out of college after misuse of alcohol and drugs my mum religiously took to the internet to search for diets, information and everything to do with it until he became better and she continued doing so for every little sickness like flu, meanwhile my heart disease was never on her search list. She even signed up for YouTube videos and lessons on everything to do with my brother health, and mind you my heart disease was diagnosed 6 years before he got bipolar. I left for school after the holidays, still exhausted and stressed from the entire experience. My body had reached its lowest point, I could feel my heart was tired, I was ready to die in my bed in my dorm, I had made peace that if my heart passed out before while rest I'd be okay with it. That's third year of uni was hell for me, my body never really recovered, I kept getting sick, had malaria countless times as well as typhoid three times in a row the same year. The stress combined with with the state of my immunity caused me to be sent to various medical officers and clinics to get my blood samples and x-rays to find what was wrong with me, why after being treated and cured my body felt sick. They thought I had tuberculosis, others thought I had STI's but all tests came back negative, and mind you all these tests cost money and my parents weren't happy with what they were spending for me to get this tests. It came to a point when I called my mum to tell her that I feel really sick and I'm stressed with my assignments, only for her to say "you're always sick, everytime we call you're sick. Don't you know we're tired of this, stop trying to get sick!". I'm tired of getting sick too mum, I thought to myself as I got off the call and stared at the pile of medicine Infront of me prescribed by the doctor as well as my heart meds, and they were too much, my mum's words over the phone kept playing in my head I I got my the blade on my study table and pressed it into my left wrist lightly drew it over to cut the skin, the pain felt soothinf, calming even, then I wondered how it would feel if I placed the knife on my study table and fell on it to pierce my heart, would the pain feel good? Would the thoughts stop? Would mum stop complaining? Would they mis me? What would happen to my body? Then I thought better of it and wrote in my dairy ro stop myself from doing ealxactly that then I was distracted by my medicine Infront of me with thoughts of "they would never know if you take all these and overdose, it'll be a painless death." The remainder of third year continued like these, with sickness and suicide thoughts until I went for job internship at a company I've always wanted to work in and life was good because i didnt for home for the holidays and I spent the holidays at school in my little dorm room with friends who looked out for me. Then 2024 rolled around and I'm properly rested, no stress and I'm happy. That's is until a month ago when my parents bought me my ticket to go back home to see them for the holidays that I spiralled, I had completely locked those memories away, but after every phone call this past month I'm left a crying mess with flashes of words said and feelings felt during that time and I go back to thinking of suicide. I nearly commited suicide on the 16th of may, i was truly gonna go throught with it, I wanted to so bad if only I did not see the bible verses in front of me amd if my roommates hadn't come back early. But I know, if I do go home now, I might actually commit suicide, if something like what happened in the past happens again, or if they say another harsh word, I wouldn't think twice of dying, because I'm done, I truly am.

A short while ago I posted a summary of a YouTuber foodie’s ranking of 24 vanilla ice cream flavors (this post). I was surprised that an Edy’s ice cream, their French Vanilla, scored 8/10 which was second highest in the video and beat out vanilla flavors from Haagen Dazs, Ben and Jerry’s, Van Leeuwen, Tillamook, Turkey Hill, etc. (See last picture for screenshot of all 24 ice creams he tested.)

Babish is not an ice cream expert or even really likes vanilla ice cream (thus his highest was only 8/10, given to McConnell’s Vanilla Bean). However he did the most expensive pint highest, and interestingly, the often disregarded Edy’s brand second.
His rating for the Edy’s ice cream is a “special 8” as he gives the caveat that it’s actually a marshmallow flavor, not vanilla. And notes some artificial flavor. He also ranks a different Edy’s ice cream, Vanilla Bean, the lowest out of all 24 flavors, 1/10, showing he can distinguish a poor vanilla (not that I’ve tried it).
Well I had to go check out this Edy’s French Vanilla ice cream. As luck would have it, it was on deep discount for Memorial Day sale.

• Price: $4.79 for 1.5 quart/48 oz. ($1.66 special sale)
• Taste profile: expected an old fashioned custard taste, but it’s actually like a vanilla cake batter taste. Confectionery, cotton candy or marshmallow type taste.
• Artificial?: yes, but not overwhelmingly so. Fine for the flavor. Some lingering taste.
• Texture: Airy, like a dense whipped cream. Works for the flavor.
• Pairs well with: candy, sour flavors, etc. I poured Blue Raspberry syrup on top and it was perfect Blue Moon taste.
• Best for: kid’s parties. Make a unicorn cake flavor ice cream with this.
• Would repurchase: yes, if I specifically want a cake batter taste.

I think Babish is right, French Vanilla is a decent ice cream for Edys. Who else has a 48oz of cake batter ice cream? It’s a nice flavor, but totally not vanilla (well, I guess vanilla cake batter kind of counts?) and especially not what I think of as French Vanilla. Edy’s should definitely rebrand this ice cream.
Imho, Edy’s French Vanilla should not be in the running for best vanilla taste. It is simply a different flavor of ice cream.
Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla scored 7/10 in Babish’s best vanilla ranking and was tied for third with another ice cream. I recently tried this one and think it’s the proper runner up.
I also tried the much recommended Blue Bell Homemade Version suggested in the comment section of the video. It is much more of a vanilla flavor than Edy’s French Vanilla. But it’s a totally different flavor than vanilla bean. I think there should be multiple categories for best of vanilla flavors.
Back to Edy’s French Vanilla: it’s pretty decent if you are looking for something like a light birthday cake flavor with slight density and an airy, marshmallow-y mouthfeel. 7/10.

i turn 24 in about a month and i’m in a period of life where i live at home and don’t really have any friends besides my sister. i really want to have a like backyard/back patio photoshoot with candle lighting and a homemade cake to take cute pictures of myself with for my birthday but it’d essentially just be a fake photoshoot with me setting things up (candles, string lights, the table) and getting dressed up literally just to take these pictures and that’s it. i feel kinda weird about it cause that’s like what people would normally do with their friends and i’d be like faking a party but i might be thinking too much about it and how it’d be perceived. would it be weird to do that? i just really want cute bday pictures

LONG KWENTO AHEAD
I've been hosting for more than 7 years, and this is the first time I received cruel treatment sa sariling kapamilya pa.
I was asked by my female cousin to host her wedding reception program last May 25, 2024. Alam yan ng relatives namin and her family of course. Nobody from her family asked or consulted anything regarding my plan as host, I wouldn't dare also to spill the contents kasi may surprises don at si bride and groom ang direct client ko so sila lang nkakaalam aside from the coordinator.
Then came the wedding day. 2pm ang schedule ng wedding. Pinakain muna ng pica pica ang mga guests while waiting. 4pm nagsimula ang program. Pagdating sa reception venue ng bride & groom, from the entrance until the cake cutting, everything was smooth.
Nung nagwine toasting na, I was then informed by the coor na may ipplay daw na video messages from the groom's friends, I did not know that it was 20+ mins long, could have played it during dinner. Sinugod ako ni uncle (father of the bride) ng galit, bakit daw pinaghihintay ng pagkain ang mga bisita. So I told him after ng video message ay papakainin na agad ang guests. 5pm palang ng mga oras na yon.
Then while eating I announced that the guests have the opportunity to take pictures with the couple. "Yung gusto lang." At sumugod ulit si uncle (father of the bride). "Bakit magpipicture ang kada table? Mali yang ginagawa mo!"
I was dumbfounded, tinginan kami ng coordinators. Nasa gitna kami ng aisle ng reception nun.
Lumabas ako ng reception para magpahangin at magpakalma. Napahiya ako. Pinahiya niya ako.
Paglabas ko ng venue, nagkataon nmn lumabas siya ng CR at nagsisigaw ulit sa akin.
"Pasensya kana! Pero mali ang ginagawa mo!" "Hindi niyo man lang ako kinunsulta sa program!" "Mali yang ginagawa niyo!"
I then turned over the mic to my mother for the money dance of the principal sponsors. I was so down. Thankfully nandyan siya para saluhin ako.
Kinuha ko ulit ang mic after the money dance to continue the rest of the program. Professional padin datingan ko. As if walang nangyari.
Habang nagpapasalamat sa couple sa guests sinugod ulit ako ni uncle at nagsisigaw. Honestly wala na akong naintindihan o inintinding salita niya kasi nag walk out na ako. Hindi ko na tinapos ang program. Umuwi akong nagbbreakdown. Gutom. Hindi pa bayad.
Can I file a case against the Father of the Bride who interfered in my hosting during her daughter's wedding reception program?
P.S. Binayaran ako ni couple, a day later na. We reconciled and settled things. Pero yung tatay hindi daw matanggap yung nangyari. Na siya ang may kasalanan. Galit parin.

Friend A and I have been friends for over 15 yrs with a LOT of bumps in the road. In our 20s, she flirted and dated a man that I had been talking to for over 6 months. He lives in Europe and is friends with a college friend of mine. Him and I connected through facebook and started talking. He invited me to his hometown and I took my friend…she ended up liking him and hooked up with him. Traveled with him and everything.
During this time. She turned friends against me and I was not invited to a lot of group outings because of this. Friends THAT I introduced her too. It was a really weird time.
Separately, I started dating a man for 4yrs. We break up and a friend of mine (not friend A or B) starts dating him. Super weird!
Fast forward we “moved on” from this. 8yrs ago I friended Friend B. Friend B and I connected and became super close fast. I introduced Friend B to our group of friends and she got along with everyone.
During the time I met Friend B, she was dating/in a situationship for 3-4yrs with a guy. Things ended really badly and she was devastated!!
About a year post breakup Friend B meets Friend A and start getting close. They have very similar taste in men.
Friend A meets this guy online and is raving about the guy and telling me about him. I asked her to show me a picture. When she does. He looks SO FAMILIAR. Friend A starts freaking out asking me if I dated him. I told her no he’s not my type.
I think about this all night. Then it dawns on me. It’s THE SAME GUY that Friend B dated/situationship. I call Friend B to confirm. It’s him.
I call Friend A and tell her. She’s shocked. Calls Friend B and they talk. Friend B tells her all the messed up things the guy did. Apparently Friend A is crying and starts calling a few of our friends crying. I personally think she did this to get ahead of the situation and so that people would feel bad for her. She called one of my best friends - Friend C, and Friend C is like hmmmm that’s weird and are you going to continue seeing him?
Friend A hasn’t spoken to the guy yet about the discovery, he’s been away.
Here’s is my dilemma this is NOT my problem however I am very triggered by it. I have a VERY hard boundary about friends dating exes that I loved or meant something to me. I’ve come to the conclusion that I do not wish to continue my friendship with Friend A. Friend A through the years has done really shady shit to me and I’ve continued being friends with her. Despite other friends asking me why am I friends with her? This to me is the icing on the cake.
Friend A has been texting me nonstop to hang out and I’ve been taking forever to respond.
Am I overreacting?

i always get so overwhelmed and so upset when things don’t go the way i planned them in my head. if i had been planning to get tacos all day and i finally get tacos and then they fall on the floor—i won’t eat. i’ll cry. and i can’t eat because i wanted tacos and sure, i could get new ones, but then i’d spend more money and time and the meal won’t be as perfect as i picture it because it isn’t the meal i wanted it’s a replacement of it. even if it’s the exact same tacos from the exact same place. if a movie gets spoiled for me i won’t watch it, because i’ll never enjoy it as perfectly as i would have if it hadn’t been spoiled for me—even if i’d enjoy it regardless. it wouldn’t be the same.
major events are especially hard for me. it was my birthday today and the waiter at the place i had my birthday cut the cake in a really weird way and it upset me so much i couldn’t eat it. and i want to not feel like this i want to just eat the cake but it’s like my brain won’t let me. my balloons popped and i forgot the speakers and that put me in an even worse mood. everyone kept asking me what was wrong but how do i vocalize such a childish problem to them without sounding immature and spoiled? “i don’t want to eat the cake because he cut it the wrong way.” i sound like an idiot. but i can’t it’s like i’m wired wrong and i just feel the urge to cry well up in my chest so strongly when things like this happen. i don’t know how to make it stop. i don’t want my joy to depend on perfection but it just does. :c

So I always go to this Lawson store in Makati around 2-3ish am to buy new stock of their banana cakes.
Last Tuesdag I was there and the cashier was having tech issues (not working), which sucks but shit happens.
The next minute, a white dude comes from the second floor, barefoot, shouting and cursing at the poor ate who didn't know what to do because he's been waiting for 20 min for the cashier so he could pay his liquor.
I asked him how long he has been in Ph and he said "almost 10 years, I have a penthouse here" ... Okay lol so I just told him he should be use to by now that sometimes things just don't work here.
I told the ate I would come back later and left. Maybe one hour later I came back and she was crying, she told me he was recording and taking pictures of her, saying he would complain to her manager the next morning.
Bought her some water and tired to calm her down, telling her that she has no fault in this. However, she did say that how things work here, she would probably get fired or transfer to another branch. She was worried as she is a single mom, she told me.
I saw her the next day but after that I never saw her again.
I hope bad things happend to that a$$hole.

She even talked like a superhero. Demons would appear and we took em out. I'd mentioned I wanted to fight an Anti-Sapien then she revealed her symbol. I never knew what it looked like. I still wanted to fight her but she turned it down. Mentioned that the good guys shouldn't fight each other. She was very polite. Have you ever seen a nice Anti-Sapien before?'" Zushi" No. They all wanted to kill us.” Eyashi" Sometimes they can act nice at first but end up villainous. Never befriended an Anti-Sapien before." Zushi" Maybe you're just being played?" I would do anything for her. She hated my brother. So you know what I did? I killed his ass. There were these people who kept aggravating her. They were killed as well (Harper gulps). Now are you afraid of me? Heather."

Self explanatory title, and throwaway account for reasons. Copy-pasta’d from legaladvice just for more thoughts (and added a little more information) Long time follower of THT from my main account.
Yesterday while I was in my shower, I noticed what looked like a trail camera pointed into my bathroom through the small window over the shower. I usually have pretty good situational awareness, so there’s no way it had been there more than a few days. (The more that I think about it, though, I typically shower at night, so I probably wouldn’t have noticed it in the dark).
I freaked out, called a friend to confirm that I wasn’t going crazy and that they saw what I saw, and then called the cops through the non-emergency number.
The detective came by within 20 mins, took a look and said “yep, that’s a trail camera.” He took pictures of it, took it down, and took it for evidence. He said it looked cellular enabled but it didn’t look like it was on, didn’t have an SD card in it, and that maybe the battery had died.
I feel so uncomfortable and unsafe in my own home now. Which is so crazy to me because this is such a safe neighborhood. I’ve already made a trip to the store to get frosted window film and got more security cameras for the outside of my home. I checked the cameras I already had, and of course this area of my yard is just out of view and nothing odd was caught on camera within the last 30 days. Just my kids on the trampoline.
The icing on the cake? The tree it was attached to is in my fenced back yard… and to make it even better (read: worse) I went to install the window film and cleaned the inside of the window. It was extra clear… and I looked closer. There were streaks on the outside of the window where whoever this was cleaned the window… I’ve lived here for a year and a half and can guarantee I’ve never cleaned the outside of my windows.
I’ve been suggested to ask my neighbors if their cameras have picked up anything suspicious… but I worry about causing a stir and messing up an investigation if it was one of them… everyone around me knows that I’m a single mom of 2 young kids. The whole thing feels very targeted and makes me so uncomfortable.
So what the f do I do now?
If they find out who did it do I have any recourse? Can I sue? Restraining order? Shoot, what are the odds the cops even find out who did it?
(Also, can’t just move… I own and in this market would be upside down in my mortgage)

i do photography, enjoy street art when it's appropriate, i was in malaga taking pictures of buildings when i saw a "anarchism XD" written in a congress building (i would guess) i liked the city street art was fantastic and houses looked like cakes but i don't really enjoy them intervene, just wants to ask anarchists opinions since the person who wrote that was probably one of anarchists

So I'm just here too vent I don't know where to start but I'll start at the beginning so some backstory, I grew up in a traditional household as in I was fending for myself from the age of 14 by that I mean that once I turned 14 I cooked my own meals I did my own laundry I cleaned my own room I did my own jobs where I got paid money for things Such as babysitting house cleaning and sitting. Also I feel like I should mention that I grew up in a sixth generational military household where we were Raised under strict discipline We were also raised to have strong moral values as in do not do anything illegal and be an upstanding citizen you see something wrong report it. So to the meat and potatoes of why I want to vent so For this we need to go back 12 years ago so I just graduated high school I decided I want to start dating so I ended up meeting the person who would become my life partner when I first met him and we were on our first date I specifically told him that if we are going to be serious there's a game changer or end of game for me would be If he Or any of his friends or family members Had a criminal record that it would be game over "sorry thanks for playing tell him what he has won Charlie". He very plainly told me that no everyone and his family and his life are good people. So I give him a chance and we ended up dating for 2 years. Eventually I ended up getting stationed far away and I asked him if he would like to move in with me and he said yes. After a short while of us living together we ended up getting pregnant with our daughter and then he wanted me to meet his parents. side note The reason why I haven't met his parents up until this point is because I was a strong believer in not meeting the in-laws until marriage was either on the table or at least in talks but I did not want to meet them unless I and he was absolutely sure that we wanted to take that step. So we eventually went to go meet his parents and siblings and his siblings kid and everything went well it was a very lovely meeting and there was nothing to complain about nothing out of the ordinary. It eventually got to the point where every weekend we would be going to his parents house and the rest of the pregnancy went by swimmingling no problems whatsoever. Eventually my daughter came into the world during the summer and she was full term healthy happy baby. After 2 months of recuperating from giving birth we went to go visit his family let them see their granddaughter, niece, cousin. When we arrived at my in-law's house his cousin was there just chillin sitting on the couch. My partner said "cousin you're out of juvee that's amazing I wasn't expecting you to be back so soon" Safe to say my eyes widen when I heard my partner say this because I flashback to when we first met and I specifically asked him if he had any family members or Or friends who Who had a criminal record. I pulled him to our room that we had aside at the In-law's house and hushley yelled at him saying that he had told me that he had no family members are friends with criminal records he very nonchalantly Said "oh cousin doesn't have a criminal record it was expunged when he turned 18" 🚩#1: I don't know about everyone else but this was a red flag when I first heard it cause he basically got me on a technicality But I still felt betrayed because his cousin was in juvee for a pretty bad crime.( Not gonna mention here but it will come into light later in the story.) I let it go for the moment And enjoyed the rest of my weekend unfortunately though I had left my ipod In my room cause I was told it would be safe there because I was also told that I should make my partner's room feel more homey to me. But when I had came back the following weekend to get my ipod it was not where I had left it I ended up tearing apart the room looking for it because it had sentimental value to me due to irreplaceable photos videos from high school of friends, friends who are no longer with us, events that I held dear from high school Especially all the events that come with senior year of high school. I asked all the family who were living in the house at the time if any of them had been in partner's room or Or borrowed my ipod and everyone said no everyone said I don't know where it is. I then asked who has been in the house during the week since I was gone and mother-in-law said oh cousin was here because he was having trouble with his girlfriend. I went to partner and asked him to call cousin to see if he borrowed my ipod because if he did then I would like it back because I have I have irreplaceable photos on the ipod. 🚩#2: Partner said no cousin wouldn't never take anything from my room cousin's not like that you're crazy why you being so upset and crazy over a few photos and a ipod. Partner also mentioned that because of my view of His cousin that that's clouding my Vision of him so of course I would automatically assume he would take it granted I did not specify he stole it I said borrowed did not say stolen please refer to previously mentioned reason why this ipod was so important to me...partner knew of the sentimental value of the ipod also that I paid for it with my hard earned money, it was the first expensive thing I had ever brought. Anyways partner had me second-guessing myself so I eventually just let go the fact that my ipod was missing I did not bring it up I should have it would save me a lot of mental health in the future anyways flash forward to 2015 my contract With the military was up I decided not to reinlist. As a goodbye gift my master chief had given me a deer antler bullet Pen that he had made personally for me. At the behest of his parents me and partner and our daughter moved into his parents place I kept the pen in a pen holder On my desk in my room At this point in time I was always out of my room and out of the house looking for a job. I didnt really need one I was making and still am making plenty from the VA. I'm sure a lot of you I probably gonna say that when I had moved in I should learn my lesson with the ipod and had installed a lock on the door but my in-laws were strong believers in a no lock policy in the house of course I did not And still do not believe in that policy I like privacy I do not like the idea of someone just randomly barging into my Space at any given moment. So eventually one of my old navy buddies had came to visit me and wanted to see the pen that master chief had given me. We wanted to compare the ones that Master chief had given both of us Every pen he had made was always unique so we wanted to see the difference Between the 2. Low and behold my pen was missing and I was devastated. And true Rinse and repeat fashion. I asked all the family members who were living in the house at the time if anyone had been in my room and took a pen they all looked at me like I was crazy and said are you going to get upset over a pen missing now and I specified that that pen was basically a parting gift from my boss for For being in the military. 🚩#3:After I realized that I was not gonna get anywhere with asking the family, I voice my concerns and grievances to my partner he also made me feel like I was crazy because he stated that "it's just a pen get over it". Eventually I did manage to get a few jobs over the next few years up until 2019 when I eventually decide I want to better my education and go to college so from June till may of 2020 I was going to college.side note: From when we had moved in with his parents all the way till even today I have been doing 90% of the housework as in I cook, I clean, I do laundry all the while working 40+ hour weeks. All partner ever does is just go do work with his dad And come home to fresh clean clothes and towel fresh out of the dryer laid out in the bathroom and a hot meal waiting on the table as I'm sure you're getting from the tone of what I'm saying right now I think you know Where this whole thing is gonna go real soon. So while I'm going to school and doing all the housework taking care of our child. My partner would come home shower do all the normal stuff and then go to bed but then he wouldn't touch me or be intimate with me he would always say I'm tired I'm not in the mood I have a headache. Maybe you dont understand partner but I never pressed on him because I assume because of certain work stressors He must be having a tough week so I never pressed him to be intimate with me. Pass to around a few weeks before Halloween I was just randomly scrolling on his phone looking at Halloween costumes for our daughter cause she wanted a very specific costume and he had gotten a text message from someone labeled under a male name and they said something that was very alarming and I looked in the text against my better judgment And what it said was hey how about we have another car date. I didn't want to jump to conclusions so me in stealth mode I text it back saying what would you like to do during the car date and the person replied oh the same thing we do every time we go on a car date you me in the back seat and you pounding me like crazy. With you saying my name and me screaming yours. Safe to say I was sick to my stomach just from reading what the person had text I had screenshot the text and I had sent it to myself and then deleted the text that I had sent to myself from my partner's fault I then put the phone away and then partner went and got his phone and I could see his face turned pale white as he saw that the Text had been opened but he didn't make any mention even brought it up. After this I went into FBI mode and I would casually look at his phone whenever he was in the shower he would always leave it charging as soon as he got home from work and then any text messages that seemed kinda off I would screenshot them and I would look app the number at a later time and back track it via Google. The information you can find on Google is crazy to me thank God for google. I eventually would get the person he was sending messages 2 send pictures as proof that they were together And evidence was unmistakable the things that she had sent made my stomach turn lowkey I could hear just what the episode of SNAPPED would have said about me if I had listened to that inner voice. After getting plenty of proof of his infidelity I eventually confronted him And here's where red flag number 4 comes into play. 🚩#4: He stated that I had become distant from him that I was more concerned with our child and school then I was with him and then also another thing that was basically as he said the straw that broke the camel's back was that I had put on weight. at this point in time I was Only 50 pounds heavier than when I got out of the military. He also mentioned that I didn't make time for him anymore Which was far from the truth if anything I always tried to push to have time with him on his days off but he was always "with his friends" I later found out that he was with her. Another reason he had given was that our relationship had grown stale and cold and boring and he wanted something exciting and new. I gave him the ultimatum either he picks me and our daughter or he picks his side piece. And true kid mentality he said it wasn't fair because he loved both me and her and he couldn't pick and he had the nerve to come up with the idea that we do a sister wife/polygamy type of relationship. 🚩#5: He even went As far to say that we should do an open relationship but primarily one where he would be in a relationship with someone but I would have to be faithful to him.another side note:he's not morman or LDS or muslim Very nicely I state did that it would be a cold day in hell when any of those options would be even viable to me.* Again I grew up in a traditional household where monogamy is a necessity And I also made it very clear when we started dating that I was a monogamous person so how this even became an idea in his head I have no idea.* So he tells me once he sees that I am dead serious that he chooses me and our daughter and I stated good choice and I thought that was the end of it until December of that year when I had heard his phone go off while he was again in the bathroom and I went to look at it and it was her and she had stated that He had left his wallet at her place when When he had seen her last week. I was feeling mad and when he came to sit back down on the couch I threw his phone at him I Called him out for the sleazy dog that he wasAnd brought up other harsh words Regarding events that had happened in the past years Since we had moved in with his parents. 🚩#6:He stated that he hasn't seen her since I had given him the ultimatum and that she is just trying to get rise out of me because he had told her that I had found out about her. Of course I did not believe him so once he left for work the following day I checked his Google location for the day that she had mentioned that he had left his wallet and lo and behold he had been at her house during that week and then also later in the day after the text he had been at her house again this time he was at her house for the better part of 3 hours when he strictly told me that he was gonna be super busy and working with yard tools where he would not be able to hear his phone go Off whenever I text or call him. * Yes I can hear you all screaming at me that I should have left him when he first had the affair but I don't know maybe I had my daughter in my mind and didn't want her to grow up in a broken household or whatever may be the case but for some stupid God forsaken reason I gave him another chance And kept giving him chance after chance every time I saw he had gone to her house* Eventually he had grown tired of the girl and then he settled back into being monogamous again and everything for the most part especially after covid happened was quiet and calm but that's what I thought. Queue cousin entering from left stage. Cousin ended up staying with us during COVID because again he had a falling out with his girlfriend now baby mama And one particular day I came home from working limited hours due to covid and I see an iPod that looks eerily similar to the one I had. Curious I looked at the back and low and behold there was still a sticker residue from A sticker that had previous There. Fun fact about my ipod I had an anime sticker That I had personally designed. Again curiosity got the better be and I unlock the ipod and check the serial number in IMEI numbers and check the same Info on the product box that I had gotten my ipod in and lo and behold they matched perfectly to a T. Stupidly optimistic I was hoping someone had found it where it might have been misplaced and I was hoping that my photos and videos were still on the ipod. But as I'm sure you're probably already guessing it was wiped clean and it was nothing but photos of and you guessed it cousin and his baby mama and their baby. every video and pic that I had on my ipod from when I first bought it In freshman year of high school to when I had eventually had my daughter Was gone forever. Cousin came out of the bathroom and asked what I was doing with his ipod. I'm sure you know where this conversation is going so I'm not gonna repeat it but let's just say a few harsh things were said and he eventually felt guilty for not coming to me and asking if the ipod was mine. I obviously gave it back to him because it had no more sentimental value to me because all my stuff was deleted and it was basically his at this point. So later that night I again leaned on Partner's shoulder and Express my grievances and how I didn't appreciate that he gaslet me into thinking that his cousin wouldn't take something out of his room when in later years it is found out that he did in fact I asked for an apology on the matter and he stated... 🚩#7: Why are you upset over something that happened in the past and over photos that Aren't that important.* Our daughter's entire birth was on the ipod by the way Not to mention all my pregnancy bump milestone photos were there too.Also I have fertility issues and was told carry children would be difficult...I think they meant conceiving because like a unicorn no morning sickness or any of the negative things you hear that comes with pregnancy* Later in the year 2020 partner's brother ended up moving out and moving about 2 hours North of us With his girlfriend now wife. In the same fashion as us not too soon after they moved into their new place they found out they were expecting their first child together. The entire pregnancy went by just as smoothly as mine but around December, Brother-in-law and cousin decided to do cross-country trip this is all that they told us we thought they were crazy because His brother-in-law was expecting his first child and cousin was expecting his second child And the babies were going to be due any day at most within the coming weeks. Well surprise surprise we get a call from brother-in-law's frantic wife stating something happened to brother in law and cousin and that she couldn't talk about it over the phone. When she eventually arrived she was hysterical, Tears rolling down her face I actually felt A sense of concern and dread for what she was about to say to us. So long story short cousin and brother-in-law had been working for unfavorable people and transporting unfavorable items across state lines. sil and cousins baby mama knew what they were doing and would tag along, they "didn't care because the money and their lives were good" * Brother-in-law's ex then gf had previously told me that he was working for the same unfavorable people and when I brought it up to 🚩#8: partner he said x is crazy don't listen to Her. (He later told he and fam always knew what bil and cousin were doing just never brought it up because 'thats cousin and bils business to tell us'* Again due to COVID the court system was delayed and brother-in-law did not go to jail right away. While we were awaiting a sentencing Brother-in-law set all the family down and asked us to look over his wife and kids (yes kids plural he ended up having a second child while awaiting sentencing stupid I know.) The rest of the family said they would look out for Brother-in-law's family. But here's where I'm going to sound like an a****** but I very plainly and bluntly told him that I will not look after his family because I did not marry "wife" and I did not have "kids" I also stated that he knew that he was expecting a kid and he went to do a run even though his kid was due any day and I also mentioned that he needs to suffer the consequences of his actions. To make it short the family looked at me like I was the devil for saying this but I have made it clear of where I stand when it comes to criminals and doing illegal activities. I also have made it very clear how I feel criminals should pay for their actions. I know this will sound cheesy but if you cannot do the Time do not do the crime. In my eyes this was a textbook case of f*** around and find out. I do not feel like I should bend over backwards when I am taking care of my own family and my own problems and adding my brother-in-law's problems to my plate. Again this is where I might lose people but as I previously I grew up in a traditional household where we pull our weight and take care our ourselves. Sister-in-law is now living with us she does not have a job, she does not want a job, she does not pitch in for any expenses. I am paying over 70% of the household expenses water, gas, Wi-Fi etc. * Also after looking at the mortgage payment statements the rent I pay my in-laws to stay in the house pays for more than half of the mortgage.* Sister-in-law does not pitch in a dime. She has no disability she can work she just chooses not to. Well if you couldn't guess it the house was tense for the rest of the time that brother-in-law was in the house until he was eventually sentenced and put in jail. So since brother-in-law has been in jail I still stick to the hole I don't help sister-in-law with anything pertaining to her, I don't ask her for anything. She's been making it a habit of calling my partner and having him move my car from the spots that Im able to get in front of the house before she got into the spot to have him move the car for her because she doesn't want to walk far with The kids. This was usually how things were done until yesterday when sister-in-law was calling my partner to have him move my car and he wouldn't answer because he was asleep due to being sick. So In a begrudging fashion I assume this was for her she calls me to have me move my car, I told her I don't mind the car being moved but she would have to come get the keys to move it as I was currently busy rearranging my Space, And that I was trying to get everything i needed to get done before my day was over cause this was my only day off during the week, And in A spoiled sounding tone she says whatever Forget about it. Later in the day when my partner had woken up he Received a call from Sister-in-law stating that I was being difficult and wouldn't move the car From my spot.* I think it's fair to Mention that there are plenty of spots In front of our house but for some reason she always wants to park where I park. She never calls anyone else who's parked in front of the house ,if they're parked there, to move their cars only me or my Partner.) Also full circle, I was cleaning out our family's "junk cabinet" yesterday during my cleaning frenzy and found my deer pen it was in fils work bag, and yes its mine says my rank and full name on it.(trust me it'll come into play) So after the call with sister-in-law partner starts berating me Stating that I'm a part of this family and that I should be helping everyone out nevermind that I pay 70% expenses and more then half of mortgage,among other things. I told him very sternly that I had let her know that she could come and move the car herself but I was currently busy. I also stated that I told her when When brother-in-law asked us to help out with his family that I would not be doing any favors I will not be dropping things at the Whim of a hat for sister-in-law. I have my own things I need to do I can't just be stopping what I'm doing just to help her just cause it'll make it more convenient for her. I also stated during the convo with partner that there are plenty Of Mother's whose Partners are also in the prison system Who have multiple kids who are doing just fine by themselves. And that sister-in-law needs to women up And handle things on her own. I also stated that I did not tell her to have the kids That was all her choice. I also stated that I have never asked or received help for anything during my time with him and his family. I've been a very self-sufficient independent person. I'd like to make it known that we primarily survive off my income alone most of his income that he gives to me goes into savings because I make a Remarkably large amount of money thanks to what I get from the VA and from my 40+ hr job in the federal sector. And with the hours I work I don't have to worry about childcare as I watch my daughter during the day, When partner comes home from his long day at work I will sleep for a couple of hours before I start my night shift, I also will sleep while my daughter is in school till I have to pick her up then I do housework and take care of my child till my Partner Comes home and cook dinner. The only reason we live with in-laws is to help them with the mortgage because the mortgage is so incredibly high in the area that we live in. So to reiterate I have never asked or needed help from any of partner's family. And I find it funny that they are now preaching that we're a family we need to help each other, Yet never once while I was living with them have ever offered help offer to watch a our child for the night or anything. Not that I would accept or anything just saying it would have been a nice gesture at the very least. But after partner said that we're family, I retaliated by saying family doesn't violate personal space and go in your room and steals your stuff. He sighed and said you're on that again and I said it's not just the ipod it is also the fact that your dad stole my deer pen. And that the ipod was and the deer pen is sentimental to me. Like a broken record I stated that the ipod had everything from my past that was irreplaceable memories of friends who are no longer with us and of our daughter's first breath into the world And the fact that he is not as mad as me about the fact that we no longer have the video of our daughter being brought into the World Is eye-opening. We ended the day on a sour note where he ended up sleeping on the couch and I in our bed. which has led me to write out my emotions because I just want to scream at him for 🚩#9: everytime he gave his free time to his family,when I couldn't even get 2 hours a day to just chat, the little bit of time I did get with him he just wants to "sit in silence" where he ends spends the time on tiktok. Also whenever I find out when i have a day off usually a month in advance. I try to plan an "US" day where its just me, him, and our daughter.spoiler alert I rarely if ever get to share a day off with him and when he manages one, on the day we had plans he says something along the lines of I have to do a tree trimmng job or fix a sprinkler head, he states "won't take long" then will call and say he'll be bit longer, rinse and repeat this and he spends the whole day at his clients house fixing his fuck up. no hes not seeing AP I have untraceable GPS trackers secretly hidden in all the vehicles, and no not illegal I legally own and insure all our vehicles at my suggestion due problems with the parents. Also partner owns piece of fils business so in a way its keeping track of work equipment in case it gets stolen. I've gotten to the point where the moment he says he's gonna take longer than planned I just leave with my daughter and do what I had planned like go to the zoo, museum, trampoline park, etc. Partner does not call me all day. im at the point idc,still frustrated but don't care. Also here's the cherry on the cake usually when me and daughter go out we get back right when partner gets home and is unpacking the work vehicle and he has this look like were you out of the house all day? Which is confirm with that very question coming from his mouth. I send our child to go in the house sensing where the convo was leading to and once she was out of ear shot. Again very bluntly I tell im not gonna cancel my day if your not gonna prioritize me and our daughter's time I had plans for today I told you in advance you made your choice of which is more important so while you used your day off to do an extra job I used my day off to make memories with our child. In true child fashion he says but I wanted to go to insert place too. You should've just waited to go on a different day. I tell him that he always postpones or comes up with a reason not to go (too expensive, too hot, will be crowded, blah blah blah) so instead I will make the plan to go tell him ahead of time if he takes time off great if not no sweat im still going. Boy he got so irritated for being called out especially when our daughter yelled from the doorway dad you always cancel on us. BTW daughter is unaware of partners affair on the day that I confronted him a close friend that I had told of my situation told me and partner that her daughter wanted to do a sleepover I was unaware this was her sneaky way of helping me. I just took advantage of the empty nest situation I'm sorry if this is more of a rant but my anger and emotions all over the place I'm half tempted of just ending things cutting ties with him and his family because they expect me to change my morality, which I'm very uncomfortable with that. Everything that I was taught respect the relationship your in, respect the law, dont do anything illegal etc these are basic common sense things. Mil, bil, and partner did not respect their relationships or partner. Mil and partner cheated (not with eachother gross but with other people). Bil left pregnant wife alone, due to have a baby anyday, to do something illegal. Also the mental abuse i deal with Partner's sisters bullying me by critiquing how my parents raised me, on my parenting, calling me a hypocrite on my morality because I was trying to pin a baby on partner (was not true he was given the choice to leave all the way up until before delivery) I'm just mentally, physically and emotionally tired. And separation is looking really like a good idea. I've asked for family and couples counseling, inlaws and partner say "we don't have issues you do,why dont you get it, your too needy and selfish always wanting to spend alone time with partner" Thats why I'm turning to reddit one to vent/rant and two for second opinions. I try to limit what I tell bout my family to my parents friends and sibs partly because I hate painting people I've chosen to keep in my life in a bad light also my dad and brothers wouldve have made partner and inlaws take a dirt nap in the desert if I had told them what they've been putting me through and what partner did around time of covid, no trace or evidence think scene from boondocks of the assassin who "took care of" the entire family.only my close friend has seen and knows the full extent of what I've gone through, so she could be a witness to my family if partner tries to spin this around in his favor. Also for further insight cousin broke up with baby mama while she was pregnant with second kid but after it was too late to do anything about it when baby mama announced her pregnancy (prior to the crime) i voiced my same concerns with her,in standard young dumb full of it fashion she state "we are in this ride or die" and now she cries to me saying she can't handle two kids and "why did i have a second one" baby mama is now regretting her decision.For any single parent taking care of two kids is a daunting task so I was just looking out for her mental health due to the fact that she would be Taking care of 2 kids by herself at the same time her partner was going to be going to jail for an undisclosed amount of time and at the time not knowing if she might have ppd like some people have after having Irish twins.

This is a warning. Don't take things that aren't yours. My mistake as a teenager has ruined my life.
At the age of sixteen moved into a new house with my family since my father was offered a new job that payed him much more than what he was making before. We had been in poverty for years so when the pipeline company called him.. he instantly accepted.
Two weeks later we moved from my home town in Georgia. I will admit. It was really difficult saying goodbye to the friends I basically grew up with since birth. Mother reassured me it was better this way so I finally loaded my belongings into the moving truck. Our new home was about two hours away from our original location, so this meant I'd have to get used to a new remote place. I teared up as I saw the towns greeting sign. "Welcome to Clamville! Where memories are made." How ironic, I never knew this place would be my first week in hell. I knew then, I'd miss my original house every day. My hometown was all I ever knew.
All I could see was nothing but dirt roads and old homes, it felt like a ghost town. But hey, what did I know? Maybe I'd love the new place. My poor naive self..
The house we moved into wasn't much to look at. The outside was painted crimson with a black roof and a black door to match. The inside had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and everything a house usually would. A few days after living there I realized we had an attic because of a chain hanging from the washroom. Me being excited, I immediately told my mother. I was always curious in my youth. She tilted her head in confusion and said "The owner never mentioned that."
My father always had ladders because of his previous job with the logging company so we searched the truck and found one in the back. My father had taken the pipeline work vehicle that day so it was never unusual for his beat up red truck to be in the driveway. My mother set up the ladder, began to walk on it, but then stopped half way in pulling the chain.
"Ma what are you doing? Pull it down so I can see what's in there-"
"I don't feel like this is safe, the previous home owner obviously didn't tell us it was there for a reason. Maybe it has some safety hazards-"
"He might've left old things up there. Like antiques or something."
She inhaled deeply and let out a long sigh. "Fine, but if you get hurt you'll never be allowed up there again. I mean it" She said sternly as she walked back down the ladder.
In my excitement I rushed and pulled the rusty chain so that the entrance was fully exposed. A cloud of faintly grey dust hit me in the face and I coughed. My mother complained about the mess but that was the least of my worries. I climbed myself the rest of the way in. The atmosphere felt eerie.
"Do you see anything?" Mother hollered. "Ma I haven't even turned on the light yet." I yelled in response. I felt around the attic and flicked a light switch and, the attic lit up. The floral wall paper in the room was peeling off and the floor was in need for a sweeping. Other than that, it seemed in fairly good condition. In my surprise nothing much was there besides a few boxes of porcelain plates, tea cups, and occasional old frilly dresses in piles on the floor.
Everything was caked in grey dust. From the looks of it, no one had been up here for years. My mother yelled once again and it caused me to jump "Everything okay?" She yelled. "Yes ma, I promise. There isn't much up here." I yelled back with a slight tone of annoyance, she always worried too much I thought. I paced up and down the floor to examine my findings and that's when I saw it in the corner. A beautiful antique mirror with bright gold edges, it resembled a magic mirror from all of those cheesy Disney movies I loved as a little girl. I grabbed it immediately, I just couldn't stop myself. It wasn't mine but I needed it. It's looks lured me in.
I admired the gold and beautiful shape, I wanted it. The owner left it so it WAS technically mine right? It was the size of my torso so it was easy to carry. I grabbed the mirror, turned off the light, and with caution, headed back down the ladder while clinging to it. Mother met me at the last step.
"What's that?" She asked. "Its an old mirror, and it's beautiful. I really want to put it in my new room" I said with joy. She examined it. "It needs some cleaning but.. sure I guess so. But just remember we don't know whose it is." She said. As soon as mother finished her sentence I squealed with excitement, even in my teen years, the littlest things brought me happiness as if I was four. "I told you there was atleast something up there Ma!" I ran to the bathroom with the mirror in hand to find Windex to clean it. As I was grabbing the cleaner from under the sink I felt an extremely cold presence behind me. I wrote it off as 'the house was old and probably needed some insulation work done'.
I headed to the kitchen table and began scrubbing the glass, the smudges just weren't coming up. I began to get aggravated and used different cleaning chemicals. Dawn dish soap, Windex, vinegar, ajax, and even baby wipes. It refused to come up from the glass and my excitement faded slightly. I went to mother's bedroom to go find her and ask her for more solutions.
"Ma. The finger prints won't come up" I said defeated. "Well it IS really old honey. It could be staining from inside of it." She explained looking up from her book. She was always seen with some type of novel in her hand. I sighed.
"Well..should I just hang it up as it is?"
"I don't see why not. It's clean now."
"Alright then." I closed the door as I left. I felt my gut twist and turn as I turned my rooms door knob. Little did I know then, it was my subconscious warning me for what was to come.
I headed to my room and decided to hang it up over my bed. I sat on the end of my mattress and admired it once more, even though it has a few smudges, it was still glimmering and shiny. I loved it.
I even looked at it as I fell asleep that night. To my dismay, I had my first nightmare of a criptid crawling out from the walls and grabbing my throat. The hands burnt as soon as it touched my skin. I couldn't scream. I was paralyzed. The figure was cloudy grey and had such dark eyes. As it's eyes met mine I finally woke up in a panic. The smell of the 'thing' is forever burned into my nose. I was covered in sweat and my hair was matted against my face. I went to the bathroom and immediately took a hot shower. I always hated how sweat felt. I didn't go back to bed that night, stayed up and drew in my sketchbook the whole time. I didn't want to ever have that nightmare again and I thought it would pass. I even prayed.
I checked my dimlight computer screen and it read 8:00 AM. I got up and made myself some fried eggs. Mother woke up from the smell and sleepily walked into the kitchen "You're awake early" she yawned. "Haha yeah, I was hungry" I decided not to tell her about my nightmare. Knowing her, she'd blame it on the YouTube videos I watch. The eggs were done and I grabbed two plates.
"Is father already gone? I didn't hear him leave."
"Yeah, you know how his job is.."
"I miss him Ma"
"I know. I do too."
We ate at the kitchen table without saying a word to each other. The move was impacting us both. Father came home at eleven at night now and always left at seven in the morning, while I was sleeping. He had weekends off but when he had spare time, he'd usually rest since his job was hard on his back. I knew I'd been enrolled into a new highschool in a few months after the summer was over and I was scared to leave mother all alone. She didn't do well when she was stir crazy.
The past few days after felt like a fever dream. I spent less and less time in my room, as a teenager that's never a bad thing but, I noticed anytime I was in there. I'd catch myself zoning off, looking at the mirror.
I kept having the same nightmare. It was repetitive nightly and it began to drive me crazy, I was desperate enough to begin asking for help on reddit, discord, online chat rooms, you name it. They all asked me a recurring question.. "Do you have any mirrors in your room?" At the time I thought it was such a stupid and irrelevant question. I eventually sent someone a picture of it in a private chat and they told me I needed to burn it and began rambling about 'negative attachments' I nervously laughed at the text. Burn? A mirror?.. that sounded ridiculous.
I laughed to myself and picked up the gorgeous mirror from my light brown wall. I gazed at it to see if this person was truly crazy and that's when it hit me. The smudges look like it's on the inside. I was in shock. I had so many questions running through my head like a fight or flight response. There was no way finger prints could be INSIDE a mirror.. right? I kept reassuring my mind and told myself I was over thinking it. I surely had to be paranoid from the lack of sleep. I went to bed and the dream repeated itself once again. The 'thing' completely devouring me.
I woke up. I had enough and cracked. I told my mother everything, she didn't believe a word I said. Though, in her defense, she never was the one to believe in negative energies or anything paranormal. Her denying it was anything to do with ghosts kind of eazed my fears. Though the nightmares continued, I was finally able to get more sleep. I became numb to it as I knew what would happen.
One night in particular I awoke from the same dream and my throat was dry as if it was caked with flour. I brushed my teeth to get the sensation off my tongue and I spit out pure black. I opened my mouth wide enough to see every tooth and saw it. To my horror, my mouth had a thin layer of dust on the tops of my gums.. the people warning me where right. It had to be evil.
I rinsed out my mouth and cried on the bathroom floor for what it felt like, hours. Something was wrong, so very wrong. Mother kept denying my claims and father was never at home to give me comfort. I picked myself up and decided then and there..I had to get rid of the mirror. I was going to smash it into a million peices, it's gorgeous petite shape was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I sat in the living room and watched an old Looney tunes re run untill I fell asleep. Not long enough to have the dream of course because I woke up to the sound of someone in the kitchen. It was my father, I stood up from the couch.
"Can I hug you before you go to work?"
"You know I'd never deny one of your hugs kiddo, but why did you sleep on the couch?" he said as he wrapped me in a bear hug. I smelled the old spice on his clothes. I haven't had one of those embraces since we moved. I always adored my father growing up. I ignored his question about why I was sleeping in the living room.
"Have a good day at work. I was just tired." I didn't want him to worry or feel like this was his fault. He was trying his best for us and I knew that.
"Thank you kid." He said with a smile. He then walked out the front door. I'm glad I finally saw his face, it felt like ages. It was one of these moments I wished he had his old job again. Then I remembered all the times we had no money for food or water. 'It was better this way' I kept telling myself.
I finally walked back to my bed room and seeing the mirror flooded me with absolute rage. I grabbed the damn thing off my wall. I walked out into the front yard and I smashed it, picked it up and kept throwing it on the gravel. I hated it, I now hated how it looked, the pain it caused me, and the nightmares it brought. I beat it untill it was just the gold lining. I left it on the dirt ground and stared at it, I knew I'd have alot of explaining to do to my mother.
In that split moment I felt a weight being lifted off my shoulders. It was over. I could be joyful once more and enjoy my new home with my mother. With relief, I walked back into the living room. Examining my hands I found that there was a glass shard so I brought myself to the sink and washed my hands. I took a deep breath and stepped back into my bedroom. My once know sanctuary.
But there it was again.. the mirror. Back into it's original form on the wall. I couldn't believe it. I ran back outside and saw that even the shards of glass in the grass were gone. Since that day it's followed me everywhere along with the nightmares. Every house I've moved to since adult hood. It's been there despite me purposely leaving it. I regret finding it so beautiful and wanting it to be mine. I just can't escape it. Growing up since that, my mother never believed me when I'd cry to her about the dreadful thing. It was hard making friends in my new town because I was scared of having anyone come over to my house.. I feared the mirror would follow them too. I stayed to myself and would look for any reason to stay away from home. I believe this dreaded curse may follow me past death. The worst part of this experience is the feeling of pure insanity. Everyone telling me I'm crazy. I live everyday wondering if I've lost my mind. It tortures me mentally and I feel so alone. All I have now, is my reflection in that fucking mirror.
So take my warning and remember.. curiousity killed the cat.

I opened the fronk and her son & two friends sat in it. Then I did light show for them. More children coming over, some with popsicles. We had to keep them from getting too close while fronk going up & down. More children. Another light show. One of the friends asked if he could sit inside. Sure. I thought it was just for pictures, but then they discover the screens. I made the boys move to the back so the girl could have pictures in drivers seat. The boys apparently enjoyed turning on heated seats ( yes, in the summer). I teach the girl how to find the farts & well, that was the icing on the cake and an eruption of laughter.
Nothing wrong with supervised fun. And of course all vehicles have risks.

Kids playing in frunk, managing to press "close" button, risk to fingers & entrapment. CT increases close force with each subsequent closing if it senses an obstruction. Sharp metal and metal points, especially the flawed sharp edges. Tonneau cover has no safety systems at the top edge. Pressing both scroll wheels, not a risk per se, but will reboot the screen
Starting and driving. Now this one takes a few things going wrong, but kids are kids, especially if they are just all allowed to mill around on the floor and cabin as a group. 1. Shut the driver's door. 2. Someone plays driver by clicking the belt. 3. Guy on the floor presses the brake pedal... And that's it, car automatically shifts into gear and any press to the accelerator and the car moves.
Sure you can negate that by watching them and having a PIN, but I'll bet few actually have a PIN. And this isn't exclusive to the Tesla, but these cars are silent and too easy to drive away when the key card or phone is "close" by
