2024.06.01 14:30 Vanity1985 Chances of being hired

I applied to a Starbucks close to me, and went in a couple days ago to speak to their hiring manager. He took one look at me and said “we aren’t hiring” despite having signs up stating otherwise. A barista at that cafe asked what he had said and I told her, and she told me that they were in fact hiring. I went to the Starbucks in my town and asked if they were hiring and they said “no, but the one [in the next town over] is hiring. He’s always asking us to send our baristas to help him out.” I do have two piercings but I’m planning on taking them out today and going back tomorrow to see if the answer changes. What are my chances of being hired? Does Starbucks have a certain “look” they want their baristas to have?

2024.06.01 14:27 karatespacetiger June Recovery Challenge Day 1 Check In

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the June Recovery Challenge, how are you?
Wishing you peace and all the success today and all month long, good luck everyone! :)

Today's check in:

Think of a scale from zero to 100 of how important it is for you to be in recovery. You can use the following chart as a guide:
https://preview.redd.it/zele7eyydy3d1.png?width=829&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1cf0a82c438ac9bca45d3b2254e41ecb1b3815e
Where are you on this scale?
What led you to choose the number you did, as opposed to a higher or lower number?

If you're just joining us today for the first time, here is some info about what we do here! :)

What the Recovery Challenge posts are:
What they are not:
If you're new to recovery or it's been a while, here are some "getting ready" posts, in case they might be helpful for you to set yourself up for success this month!
I have about 3 months' worth of daily material that I am rotating through for these posts so whenever someone joins, if they stick around for three months or so they will see pretty much everything I have to offer :)
**I believe in respecting individuals' autonomy over their body and recovery path, and I do not believe in nor am I qualified to be telling people what they should or shouldn't do regarding body size! That said, I try to keep the recovery challenges as a weight-neutral space because while some may be on a weight-loss journey (and it's everyone's individual choice to make), many (if not most) people in ED recovery either need or want to accept their bodies as they are regardless of current size, and so I try to keep the space as free of "thinner is better" messaging as possible.

WHAT IF I HAVE A SLIP DURING THE CHALLENGE?
if you have a slip and want to turn it into a recovery learning opportunity, here are some questions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZhdjmzEVA6UTCNAEU53xn9LuN8TOfLbl/edit
(you don't have to post your answers if you don't want to, but I do recommend writing or typing them out somewhere)
HOW CAN I GET A REMINDER TO CHECK IN TOMORROW?
Copy/paste the following text into your comment to get a reminder from Reddit:

When you get your reminder, look here for a link to the next day's post :)

2024.06.01 14:25 Accurate_Yogurt_4155 My baby Otis💔💔💔. How to process his terribly aggressive terminal illness, final day (where he even perked up a little bit after a dramatic decline), the decision to let him go before it got even worse. I am gutted beyond belief, please any help is so appreciated❤️

Long story short: Otis was my baby and he had terminal cancer (and a heart condition) and was losing function and quality of life rapidly this past week. As soon as it went into a range where he was just lying there, breathing fast, not much interest in the usual things, including food and water, we let him go. Logically I knew it was coming, and didn't want to make him suffer or selfishly keep him around languishing through bad days, but somehow I thought I'd be ok eventually.
I've had months to know this was coming (ever since diagnosis, and then palliative amputation to get him out of pain for however long he had left so we could spoil him nonstop), and then it was over too soon and I wish a few things had gone differently at the very end (but with the vet there, and my husband, etc, it was hard to not leave Otis's side to oversee some minor details -- like adding special sweetener to his saucer of milk that he drank while getting the sedation shot, or having the meats I'd prepped right there, since he finished his milk so fast and I wanted him distracted and eating instead of feeling the pinch). Anyway, i can't face tomorrow and I don't know how to process this. I just want my baby back.
(Longer story below, and it's of course not even close to everything . Sorry so long, I can't even get my thoughts straight- this all just happened 8 hours ago)
Otis was my little 9 pound baby. My shadow. My love bug. I can't put into words our bond and love, but I know many on here get it. He simply wasn't "a dog" he was my baby
Once we knew it was time, It all happened a little faster than I expected, and a few details about his final treats of steak and chicken and milk got a little muddled bc my husband stepped in to get those so I could hold Otis's head and hand the whole time. I know it's also my grief making me upset that I couldn't make it exactly as planned, but he went peacefully and it went well, considering.
We told him how much we loved him, what a sweet baby he is, what a good boy he is, and i got to hold his hand as he left us and then hold him one last time. I couldn't believe I was saying goodbye. I tried (not very successful) to not cry until after he was gone, and just love him and soothe him and not stress him out. He was the best boy. My baby. My soul dog.
When his heart stopped I couldn't breathe. Shaking, holding my breath, beyond thoughts or words.
I knew he had terminal cancer for the last 3 months and thought somehow that I could handle this - I'd been processing it this whole time and made every day count even more than usual - but I feel so empty and lost and guilty and devastated. We thought we'd have longer, too. The decline happened so fast, just 2 months after his surgery.
I feel like I let this happen to him. I feel like I wanted the appt to be a little different in some ways. I need to get over those details. We didn't want him to suffer anymore. As much as we thought we made the call before it was too late, I'm sure he spent many days and hours feeling bad. He didn't deserve any of this.
I want to see him tomorrow morning, snorting and oinking and meowing and making all his weird noises, and licking my face all over. I want my baby back

2024.06.01 14:23 rottneveryday Unpaid time off request pending, but manager took me off schedule?

So basically I have a vacation I’ve been trying to get approved for months… told my managers about it In the interview, yet took one of them months to finally go in and accept it after he’s been saying he would forever now. Anyway, he went in and accepted my dates… except for inventory ofc. Just told me that if we miss the Tuesday before inventory as well we get two points.. yet I made the plans a long time ago to be back Wednesday… that’s besides the point. Basically I requested of June 2-June 11. He denied June 11, and the June 2 date still says pending. BUT… on my schedule, It says I’m not scheduled (it notified me he was deleting my shifts) for June 2- June 10. So, in turn, my question is- will I get pointed for not coming in June 2 when on my app it doesn’t say scheduled BUT the date still says pending for unpaid time off?

2024.06.01 14:22 JulaabGamoon Recently visited Kedarnath. I felt so bad seeing the state of Pilgrimage!

Before I start, I want to let everyone know that I am a religious person who loves learning about history and visiting sacred places.
Highlights of Kedarnath:
Story:
A group of 8 friends and I had been planning a trip to Kedarnath for the past year. This year, we finally made our registrations and booked everything two months in advance. When we booked, we were unaware of the crowd situation, or we would have avoided the last week of May.
We started our journey from Rishikesh, where our booked vehicle picked us up and took us to our hotel in Guptkashi. We arrived around 9 PM, and the hotel staff advised us to leave by 1 AM due to heavy traffic. We had dinner, freshened up, and left by 12 AM. We reached Sonprayag (30 KM away) in 2 hours, only to stand in line for 3 hours to get our registrations verified. The delay was due to only having 2 QR scanners for thousands of people. The queue was 2-3 KMs long, and more QR scanners would have made the process much smoother.
After our registrations were verified, we stood in another 2 KM queue to board a taxi to Gaurikund. We started our actual trek around 8 AM, having left at 12 AM. The trek offers amazing views, but it is crowded with mules and horses. There are more animals than humans on this trek, and their owners often push people on foot out of the way and beat the animals if they stop. It was heartbreaking to see, and the entire path was covered in horse manure. Our clothes still smell like it.
We completed the trek and reached the top around 6 PM. After dinner and freshening up, we planned to get VIP tickets for Darshan to avoid the crowd. We learned that, on top of the VIP ticket price, we had to pay "dakshina" directly to the pandit, which was 2500 per ticket. Exhausted, we agreed, but we never received the callback from the "main pandit" regarding confirmation (maybe someone else paid more). The hotel staff advised us to stand in line at 12 AM to avoid a 6 KM queue by 9 AM, so we did. The temple doors opened at 5 AM, and we finally got in.
The biggest shock was inside the temple. Around 8-10 pandits were selling different "services" with prices ranging from 1k to 6k. One pandit even told my friend, "Kya kroge itne paise ka, donate kro yaha pe sab milega" ("What will you do with so much money? Donate here, and you will get everything"). I was heartbroken to see the state of such a holy place. After the darshan, I was shocked to see people bribing pandits and police officers at the exit gate for backdoor entry.
These practices have turned the pilgrimage into a farce, and no one, not even the government, is questioning them.
Some questions that remain unanswered in my mind:
And before anyone comments, "Kedarnath is not a picnic spot; it is a pilgrimage, and it is hard to get Darshan of God," I want to make a few points clear:
If you are also planning to go to Kedarnath, please keep these things in mind and if you can't walk take the helicopter.
Lastly, I just want to say that my intention is not to hurt anyone's sentiments. I am deeply saddened by the state of Kedarnath and needed to vent my frustrations. I hope that someday the situation will improve and people will be able to find peace there.

2024.06.01 14:22 Student_8266 Feeling petty for disliking it when my mom praises my sister

My(23F) little sister(21F) started making her own songs after not really doing anything for years and living off my parents money. I’m honestly happy for her she finally found her way in life and is doing something she is passionate about, and I think her songs sound amazing! The thing is, I’m in university studying to become a vet. It’s a lot of hard work and I love it, but I had to put a lot on hold to be able to do it. I have played piano for over 15 years now, and I used to compose my own songs. I also used to write poems often to manage my emotions and I wrote short stories that I posted online, and actually did really well. I haven’t been able to put much time in it for the past few years, but I’m still jamming sometimes and improvising on the piano, and I still plan on publishing a book sometime that I’ve been working on on and off. My sister never played an instrument until 1 year ago, and still mostly sings. She didn’t really write, apart from one time where she wrote a book in an old diary with pictures in it which she did because I had written a book for a competition and she got excited too. That wouldn’t matter at all, if not for the fact that my mom now brags about my sister constantly and how she was always ‘the creative one’ and how it makes sense that she ended up doing this as she was always the one doing creative stuff and writing as a kid. How everyone has different qualities and now she has ‘one creative daughter and one that’s in university’. I know it’s petty of me, but it really rubs me the wrong way. I used to be the one that made songs, wrote stories, poems. I even got to read one in front of the school after it won in a school contest. The fact I’m not doing that right now doesn’t mean that that’s not my hobby, or not something I like to do. My dad even mentioned it to my mom, saying my sister really wasn’t that into music or writing and it was me that did all those things as a kid. She brushed it off and keeps bringing up that one book my sister wrote and her playing music games on the ipad. Again, I honestly am glad she found something she likes doing, but I hate how this is now ‘her’ thing and all the stuff I did is non-existent, except my academic career. She always used to copy me as a kid and wanted to do everything I did, every single sport I was in and hobby I had. My mom found it cute and encouraged her, and it ended up always becoming ‘her’ thing instead of a hobby I or both of us did. It just makes me sad how even as adults, I’m denied of any of my own hobbies just because she does them now. Even now, apart from this I picked up crocheting and my moms first reaction was to teach my sister too, because she also wants to do it now.

2024.06.01 14:16 Dapper-Pin128 I F 24 am feeling overwhelmed and depressed in my relationship of 7 years with my bf m 24, what do I do when I feel this way?

What do I do? I feel stuck, I love him but I feel like I'm a worse, sadder version of myself when I'm with him sometimes. I have dealt with some family issues with him and he has been with me through so much (throughout 7 years), I've been so stressed from college and family, he's been my rock. He knows every stupid thing I've done in the past, and for the first 2 years would make me feel bad for my past decisions I made as a lonely mentally and physically desperate teen that was used by boys. All I wanted was to be seen and wanted but I was used as an object since middle school until I met Him at 18. I regret the decisions I made and felt so embarrassed that he knew EVERYTHING. I'm not very sexually driven, but he is and I feel like he guilt trips me into doing things I'm not in the mood for.. but I've been raised as a people pleaser so I'm not sure if I'm just making myself feel like I have to or because he was visually express his disappointment until 75% of the time give into it to make him not sad.
We talked about this before and he has told me I never have to do it of I don't want to, but I can tell bt his facial expressions and body language that he actually doesn't care. I say this as I've seen and noticed how, I mentioned to him how much I read into facial expression, yet since then, I have never seen him so persistent by showing me how sad he is that I don't want to give him pleasure. And the second i say, i’ll do it or start something, he would get so excited and happy. Or am i reading too much into it?
I love our deep conversations about life and how we love to watch and analyze movies that have deeper meanings, but I feel like he doesn't value some of my ideas or opinions, trying to correct me on a thought I had or out do me. Sometimes I feel like he tries to attack my intelligence due to how easy it is and how self conscious I am.
I grew up having an optimistic outlook on life, especially due to trying to keep my family happy and make the most out of the time I had with my dad due to his constant deployments throughout my childhood. There's no time to be sad, we need to cherish and make the most out of the time we have with each other. But since being with Him, I've felt a shadow of darkness on my outlook on life. He grww up with a pessimistic outlook, but he was so much happier when we started dating. When I try to lighten the mood, he somehow dampens the room, creating my tries of positivity into, what's the point of trying. I enjoy seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I never planned on changing him, but why does he want to change me? I get so excited over the little things, I feel so overjoyed by things like seeing hummingbirds close up to literally anything, but I feel like he makes fun of me for it. I love giving people compliments, from their nails to their stripped pants. It gives me the biggest smile to see their face light up. But why do i feel like I can't be myself around Him? I feel like I'm too much and have to calm down so he doesn't judge me or look at me with a condescending look.
I understand that we need to feel sadness from time to time, but there's something about picking out the little things that gives me thr biggest smile.
I told him how I feel about how certain things make me feel. I'm a emotionally sensitive person and I will cry for making him feel bad. I've never been so anxious in my life, I know college took a lot out of me, but what made it harder was how controlled I felt by Him. I made no friends, I've always had trouble making friends but the people I would find similarities with were with men. Of course. I never had so many similarities with someone before and it was so nice to talk to someone I had stuff in common with. My bf and I don't have many things in common other than our perspectives of the future and our time spent together, but there are those little things like food and music or interests and hobbies.. im always open to His interests and would always show interest in what he likes, but I don't see him trying for me most of the time
But due to my past with guys, my bf doesn't like it when I talk to men, in general. I have never cheated on him and he always tells me I better not, even though I would NEVER CHEAT. I never approach men, or start conversations with them. But when I have to for class or work, I'm scared to tell him. I hate seeing him upset or angry. One time I had to be in a group with a guy, and he was literally me. I did not see ANY romance in our conversations, we were copies of each other from our interests to our childhood experiences. I was so nice to talk to him about our love of history, but I could never see me with him in any way more than that, copies. Does that make any sense? I meant to tell my bf about him but my fear his reaction stopped me. I know I should have, and my fear of conflict is no excuse for lying to him or not telling him about my group partner. My bf found out and he doesn't trust me. He randomly checks my phone and I feel like I deserve it, I do. I led myself here. I blocked the partner after the project was finished and I'm a terrible person for what I did to my Bf and the team member.
We started dating at the end of junior year and I was not planning on going to college with a bf. He followed me and hated the idea of long distance. My dream was to go to a college out of state and so that's what we did, together. I love him, he knows what makes me happy and we, almost, have the same humor. But I didn't imagine how stressful college was going to be with someone who never fully trusted you since the beginning. I don't know how to view this relationship.
This not at all me blaming him for anything. I've been thinking about how different I feel and have felt for years and I'm scared. I'm scared of change and disappointment. I have made my decisions and I have to live with them, I put myself in these situations and I tell myself I control my own life. I've been taking deeper dives in how I function and I'm scared im in a relationship that I won't be happy in. I say all of this but when I look into his eyes, all I see is my baby and his laughs brighten my days, but when I'm away from him, I feel like I can breathe unless some guy sits next to me in a class or talks to me at work. I love talking to people and with the place I work at, I feel alive around my coworkers. I have never felt a romantic interest in a guy but the second I mention him to my bf, he stares at me like I cheated on him.
I've been viewed attractive throughout these past few years, and I when I wear makeup he asks me why do I look this good and who are you trying to impress. No one, NO ONE I'm so TIRED of those words! I'm so sick of them because I do my makeup for my own pleasure, I love winged eyeliner and highlighter, I love how long my eyelashes get with mascara, but I will never wear makeup for the purpose to impress others, unless it's girls that wear winged liner too, I love talking to then about the brand they use and sharing tips and tricks. But we've discussed this so many times that it makes me sick. I understand but I don't understand why he keeps asking me this
We've talked about how he's been feeling more insecure lately due to his weight gain, but I ALWAYS give him reinsurance that I love him and will be by his side through this Rollercoaster we call living.
I'm all over the place. And my head hurts thinking about it all the time.
We don't live with each other but have planned to for years, and once I saved enough, we are, I'm excited and have wanted this for so long. But I like having my own space. I've always wanted my own place, my own kitchen, living room, just a place I control and manage with my things that make me feel brighter and optimistic, but I'm scared He's going to ruin it.
If anyone reads this, wow, I'm sorry. I've never told a soul this because I don't have money for a therapist (but I'll be getting insurance soon so I hope I can find one this year) and I need someone out there to just see and maybe comment on it. I'm so lost. Am I in love? I was, or was I ever in real love. I know I was and I'm. My feelings are so strong, I can't deal with them half of the time. I know I've made mistakes, trust me, I think about them too much to not feel ashamed all the time, but should I feel ashamed, I do. I've never cried so much I will say that. I'm sorry, I keep typing because I don't know what to do!
This was nice to get out. Thank you and goodnight

2024.06.01 14:13 anonme1995 Can you quit your job & still qualify/ apply for PFMLA??

Looking for some PFMLA advice, or maybe someone who has done this before. There's so much information online for PFMLA and the verbiage sometimes is hard to understand. I am wondering if I quit my job prior to the birth of my child or qualifying for early medical leave (if requested by doctor), can I still apply and recieve PFMLA benefits. For example, lets say I resign August 1st, baby is born end of September, will not working for 8+ weeks or any amount of time void me from qualifying for PFMLA benefits? Aka the 12 weeks of family bond leave + whatever the doctor approves for medical leave (most likely 6 weeks additional if uncomplicated).
Background/ rant: I am a FT employee and have been with the same company for 6 years. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and so far my pregnancy has been great. No issues. Haven't even had to use any sick time so far. The company is spiraling, lots of major changes in the company. My position has changed drastically since the beginning of the year. I was given a promotion with intent to a pay raise, its been 90+ days since said promotion and my pay plan "wont be ready until July". I was informally promised it would've been ready May 1st. Despite this, I still continue doing everything asked of me and more. I started working a little longer hours and now work weekends which I hadn't in years. I had just been informed they are moving which office I work out of to a new location in a different town. I have been working in the same office for 6 years and never was told that there could be a possibility to move. The move happens July 1st. I currently live a 2 mile drive from my job, that was the most attractive reason I took it in 2018. Now the new office is located 25 minutes, I know this is not a lot for some people, but I live in the city, traffic gets bad, highways get backed up and I just don't want to travel extra for work. I'm not the only one moving, so is both of my staff members who i oversee, They are uprooting our entire department. One of my employees came to me a month ago, talking about how stressed she was from work that she would go home and cry. I fought for months with my directors to let them know how the entire department feels on not being paid for new roles/ extra work & being promised by them, but they under deliver. I warned them that people may quit. They said "let them quit". Yesterday one of the girls I have been working with side by side and then became her manager since 2019, resigned. She just hit 5 years with the company. She cried but said it was effecting her way too much, between the extra work no pay and all of the changes. When she resigned, our COO replied with "thanks for letting me know" and that was it. This has been my tipping point. I don't think I can work here anymore. I don't want to spend my 3rd trimester stressed. It's not good for me or baby.
So, if I resign, would I still qualify for PFML benefits since I have been paying into it since it started in 2021..

2024.06.01 14:11 Silent-Doctor-2726 The Pressure of Perfection: How Unrealistic Expectations Harm Mental Health

Hello everyone,
In our society, many of us have grown up with the belief that achieving high marks, obtaining a prestigious degree, and securing a well-paid job is the ultimate measure of success. While education and career are important, the immense pressure to meet these expectations can have devastating effects on our mental health.
The fear of failure, peer pressure, and the constant comparison to others can lead to severe anxiety, depression, and in some tragic cases, even suicide. It's crucial to recognize that our worth is not defined by our academic or professional achievements.
Let's use this space to support each other, share personal stories, and discuss strategies to cope with these pressures. Remember, you are more than your grades or job title. You are the creator of your own happiness and fulfillment.
Share your thoughts and experiences. How have you managed societal expectations? What steps are you taking to prioritize your mental well-being?
You are not alone. Let's illuminate the path together.

2024.06.01 14:11 Dangerout Project X Reborn - A Review.

Project X Reborn - A Review.
I got really bored, so now I'm reviewing revivals. This is the first review I'm doing. And probably the last because this scene is just that dry lmao
I'll only look at revivals that have piqued my interest in one way or another. And I'm quite picky when it comes to revivals, so don't expect another review from me for a while.
Also, this is a long one. If you want my final thoughts, just scroll down to the Final verdict. You'll see it.
I'm looking at Project X Reborn, as I've heard people say good things about it. Also plenty of bad, but from what I can tell, that's just pointless drama brought on by two ex-staff. I don't care about that, what matters is what I can actually tell about the revival itself. Future me talking: I had no idea what I was getting into here. I regret EVERYTHING.
I'll be judging revivals on three factors: The client(s), the website and the community.

Client(s):

After checking everything else out about this revival, I've decided to not even bother messing with their clients. Wasn't planning to skip this part, but after I show you everything else, you'll see why I did. WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN WITH THE FIRST REVIVAL I CHOOSE DUDE LIKE SERIOUSLY WHY

Website:

This is not a very good website. A lot of stuff on here is just nonfunctional. I'm almost convinced that it's using shoddily put-together code from another revival. And considering this is an ECS-based revival... yeah, makes sense.
Genre search on the Catalog just doesn't work at all.
I AM CRAPPING MY PANTS AS WE SPEAK.
Literally everything on the bottom of the site leads to a 404.
Nobody can help you now.
The "Upgrade Now" button leads you to a completely different part of the website, specifically the part that only shows up when you're logged out.
Bootleg 2016 website...
Suddenly it's different?
Oh yeah, the site looks totally different when logged out for some reason. It's like you're transported to a completely different site. That's not a classic Roblox thing, that's a MODERN Roblox thing! so much for the retro experience smh my head /s
In terms of positives... it loads fast? I'm not giving any points for looking like the old website, as it's mimicking an era of Roblox where the site looked pretty bad. But that's just my opinion, others will probably feel differently about it, I dunno.
I could ignore these flaws if the community could pick up the slack. But about that...

Community:

From what I've seen in the very brief time I spent in their server, this community is RIDICULOUSLY UNHINGED. Forget Project X, they should've named this revival Aphrodisiac.
Some of the images I've seen in this server I'm scared to send here as I think it could risk me getting banned from the sub. I could mark this post as NSFW, but I think just posting a few examples should get my point across all the same.
how is this funny
i genuinely worry for this person's wellbeing
this message got pinned. bruh.
the fact that most of these were from a small timespan yesterday goodness
Seriously keep in mind that this isn't even the worst of it that I'm aware of. Heck, as I was writing this, there were people posting worse than this. Here's what one of the staffs "friends" had to say to that:
The message I replied to was deleted. I guarantee that if I didn't mention it, it would've gone unmoderated. And vein deleted their message as shika threatened to remove their friend role.
I can't stress this enough, good revivals have stuff like strict moderation and zero tolerance for degenerate behavior for a reason. These are places typically populated by people under the age of 18. And when the line between memes and actual degeneracy begins to get gray in communities like this, it only leads to bad things happening.
These are not servers for "The Boys™" to hang out and post things unfiltered, they're Roblox revivals. In any other revival I've been in, most of what I've seen on this server would get you permabanned. Here however, your messages get put on the starboard and even pinned. I can not find any justifications for this.
When even the owner constantly complains about the degeneracy surrounding their community, all I must ask is this: Why not actually do something about it?
GEE, I WONDER.
This was pinned in #english-chat.
Seriously, when THIS needs to be clarified, that's when you know SOMETHING is wrong.
After just looking around, I can say that I am not surprised that rumors are going out against shika. Not because they actually did anything (I don't think they did), but because of what's been allowed to exist under their ownership. Something really needs to change here before things get bad.

Final verdict: I can not recommend this revival whatsoever.

I was going into this expecting the community to be bad, that's par for the course with these sorts of revivals. But this was a whole other level of terrible that I just refuse to give it any sort of chance. Shame, I wanted a nice 2016 revival to make stupid games on. Hard ask, apparently.
I know that I didn't put much time into investigating this revival, but from all I've seen, I really don't want to. I could've just come in at a wrong time. Definitely possible, considering a lot of the screenshots I've shown were from such a small timeframe. But first impressions mean a lot, and the impression that I got was that this revival's favorite color is off-white.
Don't get things twisted - I do not want this to be a hate post or witch hunt or whatever. I truly believe that it's not too late to change things here. Syntax was in a similar position once, but it managed to improve significantly in its later months. It's not too late for Project X to do the same. I don't think it is, anyway.
That's all I've got for now. I may come back in like a month or so to see if things have changed or not. If it stays up that long, that is. You never know about revivals anymore.
Anyways I hope the next revival I decide to write about is passable enough for me to actually want to download the client. Thank you all for coming to my TED talk.

Udemy

Advantages of Udemy

Drawbacks of Udemy

Cost on Udemy

Udemy charges a revenue share of 63% on all other course sales and 3% on courses made through instructor coupons. It is free to publish free courses that include less than two hours of video. (Note: Mobile platform fees for sales of mobile courses, as well as processing costs from PayPal or Payoneer, are not included in revenue sharing.)
Why are you offering your first course on Udemy? due to the platform’s abundance of resources for developing and promoting courses.
For instance, if you’re not sure whether your video courses are up to par, you may send in a sample for evaluation.
You’ll receive comments on the audio and video, as well as equipment recommendations.
Additionally, Udemy offers a helpful Teaching Center with instructions on topics like organizing a course, shooting your first video, and other related subjects.
Udemy’s customized marketing courses can help if you’re having trouble closing your first few transactions.
Take advantage of site-wide discounts, have your course highlighted in their email blasts, or sign up for Udemy’s affiliate marketing program.
Udemy gets a cut of course sales; all of these programs are optional. The promotional channel you select will determine how much they take.
Because of the scale of the marketplace you’re competing with, it’s critical that you choose the ideal course topic and evaluate how it compares to other courses on the site using Udemy’s marketplace insights.
This function, which is akin to Google Analytics, provides information on a topic’s popularity on Udemy, search volume, and related keywords.
Additionally, you may view the quantity of courses that are currently available for a given subject, the category’s highest-earning courses, the monthly revenue earned, and the most effective channels for promotion (Udemy search, Udemy discovery, external sources, and paid ads).

Kajabi

Expert designers would benefit most from using Kajabi, one of the most upscale online course platforms.
Kajabi might not be for you if you are a novice or a small business owner.
On the other hand, this is the ideal location if you are an experienced designer looking to start an online academy. This platform even has Amy Porterfield’s endorsement!

Kajabi’s features

cost

The ability to build webinar pipelines is an intriguing feature shared by all of the options.
It also has fantastic marketing options, like expertly branded messaging, because it caters to huge edupreneurs.
The cost is somewhat more than that of the other platforms on this list, but for some users, the attentive, knowledgeable support staff can make up for it.
They could have made the digital offering more varied for the price they ask by including some possibilities, such as vFair’s event gamification tool, but they don’t.
The website may seem overly technical because it was designed with specialists in mind, which may discourage novice course developers from using it.
Overall, it is a costly and comprehensive LMS supplier, according to its reputation.

2024.06.01 14:07 Stefanpkh 32 [M4F] Europe - Supportive and Loving Man from Iceland Looking for a wife

Gamer Boy 🤝 Book Girl
Hello there,
I’m a nearly 32-year-old man from Iceland, living with a physical disability that means I use a wheelchair most of the time, though I can walk indoors. I'm writing this post from the heart, hoping to find a meaningful connection.
I've tried both local and international dating sites with little success, so perhaps Reddit can be my last hope. For a long time, I felt undeserving of love because of my disability, but I've come to realize that love transcends physical limitations. I’m a hopeless romantic who cherishes staying awake with my partner until they drift off to sleep.
Here’s what brings me joy:
Who am I? I am loyal, patient, passionate about my interests, and eager to share yours. I consider myself caring, nice, and humorous—but you'll have to be the judge of that.
While I'm content on my own, life feels more fulfilling with someone special. It’s not just about living, but living meaningfully and sharing that with someone. I want to explore the world and cherish those experiences with a loved one.
About you: Ideally aged 24-38, you should value kindness, understanding, and a good sense of humor. A penchant for dark humor is a plus. Physical traits aren’t my main focus, but I do find a soft voice and a shorter stature charming. (Lines up well with the height of the wheelchair)
Ultimately, I’m searching for someone who can laugh at life and themselves. Looks matter, but personality resonates more deeply with me.
I'm still defining my ideal partner; maybe it’s you. If you want a glimpse of me, just ask. I prefer chatting on platforms like Discord, given Reddit’s clunky messaging.
If you’ve read this far, thank you—you’re already a hero in my eyes. Let’s see where this could go?
Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful evening! I’m curious to see what this post might bring.
