I am sorry for missing you again, but I can't help it. I still miss you sometimes.
I miss you on warm nights as I adore the beauty of the moon while it gives light to the black sky. I miss you on sunny days while I admire the sea of clouds and the rays of the sun in the sky. I miss you on days I never thought I would think about you. I miss you when I shouldn't be missing you.
I miss you when I am happy. I miss you when I am sad. And I am tired of feeling this, but my thoughts are flowing out of me and I thought of writing it down, as I hope that it won't last long.

2024.05.23 12:20 yoyomama79 Haven't broken 40kwh this month of May... Is this normal?

Our 6.885kwh system with a 6kwh inverter has been in service since January of this year. It's been working great; March 24th has been the highest kwh I've seen, at 42.3.
Since the days are longer now, I figured we'd be generating more solar in May and June. From pvwatts, I can see that the highest months will be June and July, with May and August not far behind. But even on a ~90% clear day like yesterday (that is, 90% of the time, the sun was not obscured at all be clouds), I'm nowhere near 40kwh. I was thinking in June, I'd see 50kwh days... Am I fooling myself? I'm in NJ, with a 100% south facing roof.

2024.05.23 12:18 SpacedSkaterBoy Want to get tattoo, but got a little sunburnt yesterday, more in comments.

Got a slight sunburn yesterday here in Thailand, so the artist told me to come back today. I have the appointment in two hours. Skin doesn't appear to be red anymore, but it's still a little sensitive. I've taken good care of the burn, moisurising every 30-60 minutes. Staying out of the sun. Hydrating etc.
It seems to be good now but I'd like to hear your advice. Can I proceed? Will tattoo my forearm, it will be like 8 lineart stars not too big, no filling, just linework.
Thoughts?

I'm really bored so I'm gonna debunk these "scientifical miracles" in the Quran :3

BIG BANG

"Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart?" (Quran 21:30)
According to Muslims, this verse tells us about the Big Bang and because of that, is an evidence for Islam being the true religion.
But the problem is: It is stolen. This saying that "the earth and the sky were once together and than seperated" are found in many religions. As an example, the egyptian mythologie. The egyptian mythologie tells us about the sky and earth being together a block and than being seperated. Another example is the summerian mythologie, which says basically the exact same thing the Quran says. Earth and sky were together, than seperated.
And if you paid attention, you will notice that both of these mythologies (egyptian and summerian) were also located in the middle east. And both of these mythologies were older than Islam. Who can add up 1+1 should now see that Momo just stole from other mythologies around him and put them in Islam.

LIFE FROM WATER In the same verse as above, it goes on and says: "And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?" (Quran 21:30)

This Verse, according to muslims, says that life oroginated from water. Now, this verse doesn't really say that life originated from water but rather says that we are created from water... Whatever I guess
Thales, an ancient greek scientist, already knew that. No big suprise. Momo just did his thing, he stole it and put it in his own religion.

MOON REFLECTING LIGHT

"...placing the moon within them as a ˹reflected˺ light, and the sun as a ˹radiant˺ lamp?" (Quran 71:16)
Now, I take these verses from quran.com and whenever something is in these ˹˺ things, I'm suspicious because the words under them isn't really in the arabic original text, so I'm not sure if these verse really says "reflected" in the original text. But I'm just gonna pretend like it says that but I also heard some people saying that ot doesn't say that so... Idk ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Now, even if the text does say that the moon just reflects light and not produces its own light, this still wouldn't be a big thing. Because again, ancient greek men got our back. Like Anaxagoras, he speculated that the moon reflects light.

IRON FROM HEAVEN

"And We sent down iron..." (Quran 57:25)
Now, if you don't know, iron wasn't on earth always but rather came trough Supernovas (explosion of stars). Now, 'hOw cOuLd a dEseRt mAN 1400 yEarS aGo kNoW tHaT??'. Like the other "miracles", people already knew that. But not in the way we do now. Basically, civilisations like the ancient egyptians, already knew that iron came from heaven through metorites. Like I'm not joking, the literal name for iron in ancient egypt was "metal of heaven".... Great miracle Momo, really, I'm impressed

EMBRYOLOGY

"...then We developed the drop into a clinging clot, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation." (Quran 23:14)
Now, this verse is allegedly a miracle because it is a good description of how babays are formed. Only problem, again, it is stolen. The original description comes from Gallen, again an ancient greek scientist. It's nearly the exact same thing as he said. And it also includes the mistakes Gallen make: 'clothed the bones with flesh' means that there are bones and the flesh comes afterwards, which is false.

MEETING OF SEAS

"And He it is Who has joined the two seas: one sweet and palatable and the other saltish and bitter; and He has set a barrier and an insurmountable obstruction between the two that keeps them apart." (Quran 25:53)
This verse shows that salt and fresh water in don't mix. Well, I've got some problems with that:
How you probably already expect, it was already known. As an example, Aistotle knew that fresh and salt water don't mix. Momo just took it. But the other problem is, that it's false. Well, if you look at salt and fresh water, they may seem like they don't mix. But they do mix. But Aristotle didn't know that and I guess Allah just knows as much as Aristotle knew.

SUN MOVING IN AN ORBIT

"And He is the One Who created the day and the night, the sun and the moon—each travelling in an orbit." (Quran 21:33)
This verse allegedly shows that the sun is in a orbit and moves, which is actually true. For those who didn't know, the sun doesn't stay in one place but moves trough space.
Now, if you read the verse and think rationally, you'll see what is really meant. From the perspectiv of Momo, it seemed like the sun orbits around earth. And that's what he wrote. You can see that because of the referemce with night and day.

PAIN RECEPTORS

"Whenever their skin is burnt completely, We will replace it so they will ˹constantly˺ taste the punishment." (Quran 4:56)
According to muslims, this verse shows that the quran knew pain receptors existed and that they are in our skin... I don't think I have to debunk this? I mean, you could have asked a caveman "because of which body part we feel pain" and he would have showed the skin. Not because he knew about pain receptors. It was just what people thought

ANTS

"And when they came across a valley of ants, an ant warned, “O ants! Go quickly into your homes so Solomon and his armies do not crush you, unknowingly.” (Quran 27:18)
"This verse is a miracle because it shows us that Momo knew that ants could communicate."
I'm really starting to think that Momo was a big fan of ancient greek men, esspecially Aristotle. Because, again, Aristotle already said before Momo even existed, that ants could communicate.
But besides that, this verse doesn't even make sense, it has some errors:

Ants can't speak, they can communicate trough chemical smells
Ants can communicate with eachother, but not like this. Never. Trough these chemical smells, they might give a warning signal, to indicate that everyone should go back to the nest, but they could never say something like it is shown in the verse.
SPIDERS HOUSE

"The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of a spider spinning a shelter. And the flimsiest of all shelters is certainly that of a spider, if only they knew." (Quran 29:41)
Yeah, muslims say that this verse knew that the spiders house is the weakest house of all. Sometimes I really think if muslims are serious when they say something like this. Ask a 5 year old child "what animal has the weakest home" and he would guess the spiders home.
Also, just a side fact, spidersilk is stronger than steel. If you would take 1 pound of steel and 1 pount of spidersilk, the silk would be stronger.

HEAVEN SMOKE

"Then He turned towards the heaven when it was ˹still like˺ smoke..." (Quran 41:11)
At the begining of the universe, there was a "gas state". The universe had a lot of gas in it, which formed than stars and other things.
But first of all, the verse doesn't say gas, it says smoke. And now, some of you may think that this is just a small thing, but gas and smoke actually can be very different. Also, why didn't god just say gas? It would be than correct and us kafirs would have nothing to yap about.
Actually, there is a bigger problem with this verse, and this is the previous verse, i.e. the 10th. Because there, Momo- I mean Allah talks about the creation of mountains on earth. But this 'gas-state' of the universe I just mentioned already had finished long before earth even formed, let alone the mountains.

EVERYTHING IN PAIRS

"Glory be to the One Who created all ˹things in˺ pairs—˹be it˺ what the earth produces, their genders, or what they do not know!" (Quran 36:36)
So, idk why this is a miracle. In some websites I take these miracles from, I see this a lot. So, everything is in pairs? I mean, I'm pretty sure the Mexican Whiptail Lizard doesn't have a male pair. These Lizards are just females and their reproduction also happens without the need of sperm. There are actually more animals which have no sexual conterpart. And also, if everything has a pair, what would be the pair of a phone be? A tablet? A television?

SEVEN ATMOSPHERE

"It is Allâh Who has created seven heavens..." (Quran 65:12)
The Quran says that there are 7 heavens and some muslims like to claim that this 7 heavens concept actually represents the 7 atmospheres.
I said "some" muslims because this is a really dumb "miracle" and you wont hear it from someone who has a decent knowledge of Islam, but because I still hear it a lot from muslims, I wanted to include it in here.
You can debunk this verse with another Quran verse, which says that the stars are in the lowest heaven:
"And We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps ˹for beauty˺ and for protection." (Quran 41:12)
("lamps" means stars)
Planes fly at the lowest atnosphere so according to this verse, than planes actially fly next to the stars?
Bonus fact: the concept of 7 heavens is stolen from the summerian mythologie :3

CHEST-TIGHTENING IN HYPOXIC ENVIRONMENTS

"But whoever He wills to leave astray, He makes their chest tight and constricted as if they were climbing up into the sky."
Ypu probably know that if you climb a mountain or are generally in higher places, the oxygen gets less because the gravitational pull isn't as stong.
Basically, you breathe harder on higher places. And this verse "shows that 1400 years before, when no one knew it!!"
That's a lie, people knew that. Also, Momo and his people would also have experienced it themselves, because of the environment there.
Not to forget, it is also wrong. If you were climbing 'up into the sky' your chest doesn't gets tight. It just feels like that.

MOUNTAINS HAVE ROOTS

"...and made the mountains as pegs..." (Quran 78:7)
Mountains have "roots" which are under the earth. And according to muslims, the refference with 'pegs' seems to show that.
And tbh, I don't find a logical way to explain this. I- I think I'm gonna convert back to Islam! Now I understand that not my eyes, but that my heart was blind all along! ALLAH FORGIVE ME! "Aschhadu an la ilaha illa-lah wa-"
Aristotle enters chat
"I knew that" he said with his magnificent eyes and with his 6.5 feet tall body when he enetered the room. His smell immediately filled my head. His body, so attractiv like the sun for Icarus...

Jokes aside, Aristotle already proposed the idea of mountains having roots under the earth. So it was nothing new.
~Aristotle seemed satisfied with the truth out and he left the room. As he closed the door, he looked at me and gave me a little smirk... and he was gone... But I knew that he would come back... Eventually... In another time, another place, another "miracle", I would see him again...~

PURE RAIN

"And He is the One Who sends the winds ushering in His mercy, and We send down pure rain from the sky." (Quran 25:48)
When water steams from the ocean to the sky and joins into clouds, the bacteria, dust or any other thing gets left behind and it's only water. And the Quran says that the rain is pure. Boom, miracle.
Not really, ancient people already believed that the rain was clean. And I know that the verse means 'pure' and not 'clean'. But the word used for pure actually also translates to clean and by translating to 'clean', I'm actually doing Muslims something good:
Because rain isn't pure. "But you just said and even explained why rain is pure" Yeah, I did, but this was just about the becterias which were already in the water. Because while the clouds are on the sky and driven by the wind, they collect new things. Like bacteria, dust or any other impurity.

ALL ANIMALS LIVE IN COMMUNITIES

"All living beings roaming the earth and winged birds soaring in the sky are communities like yourselves."
The sources, where I find my scientific miracles, says: "Animals live in communities and have their own languages. This was known recently, however this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered."
And if this islamic website says it, it gotta be true... I think I have to give up, Muslims won, bye atheism, hello Isla-

We talked some more, but because of Plato, he couldn't stay long, so he made his way. But before that... He pressed his lips to my cheek, and gave me a little kiss. From the point of his kiss, a warmth filled my body... And he was gone...

Expansion of he universe

"We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺." (Quran 51:47)
This is maybe the miracle you will hear the most. And to debunk it, simply use one of their own arguemnts: wrong translation/meaning
Because the meaning of this verse changed, this verse can mean 2 things:

"We are certainly expanding it"

But also...

"We are able to extend/expand it"

And if you look at the most reliable tasfirs, they talk about it as the 2. one. Old tasfirs always understood this verse as "we are able to expand" and not "we are expanding". Tasfirs like Ibn Kathir or Jalal (the 2 most reliable tasfirs I think) and many more tasfirs talk about it in this way. But newer tasfirs, which came out AFTER the discovery of the expansion of the universe suddenly understood it differently. I wonder why...
I'm done, this took me days to write, not because it was hard but because I wrote it in school during recess. And I actually enjoyed writing this very much, I also wanna start another project, where I either debunk "prophecies" in Islam OR show things that are just wrong (like scientifically, historically etc). Again, I'm sorry because of this Aristotle love story thing :3

(ive never posted here before so i hope the flairs are alright)
i just woke up from this odd dream i keep having about a giant eyeball chasing people and making them dance. it sounds so stupid but it freaks me out when i think about it.
anyway so these dreams usually start at night with me in some department store with some people ive never seen before, we leave the store and theres people yelling about the clouds and how the sun is rising abnormally fast. then the moon falls within seconds and people begin screaming.
me and the group im with get in a car, and we try to drive out of the parking lot and theres a hoard of like 150 people all dancing while surrounding something. we get closer to said group and in the center there’s a giant eyeball. (not giant compared to people, it was like 5’4, but pretty huge for an eyeball.) theres no music or anything, just a giant eyeball and people doing the macarena or something.
so then it starts to be like a birdbox style dream?? like “dont look at the eyeball youll start dancing” type of thing. the dream usually ends here because i look at the eyeball. i really dont know why im posting this but writing it out made me feel better 🤷‍♀️
edit: i forgot to add that ive been having the same kind of dream since i was like 5-6 yo, im almost 15 now to give you a better idea. i havent had this dream in a while though

23F, 160cm, 54Kg, no substances. No known allergies. I am lactose intolerant and have eliminated lactose from my diet. I have been feeling generally 'off' for around a year now, and have been having semi-regular blood tests. I have always had iron levels on the lower side of healthy. I have always eaten a diet high in red meat and other iron-rich foods, and yet I still have low iron.
It began about a year and a half ago, when I suddenly had an episode of feeling very off. I was fatigued, had pain in my arms, a strange rash that didn't go away when pressing (the best way to describe it is unconnected small red and purple blotches, confined to a small area usually appearing on my torso or legs), and experienced an overwhelming feeling of doom. I do have anxiety, however I have never before (or since) experienced that feeling, and there was nothing in my life happening at the time to trigger it.
I had my blood taken and it showed extremely high iron levels all of a sudden (more than 2.5x my previous levels). The only other results of note were low Urea and cholesterol, and high bilirubin. I have never had anything wrong with my liver before. My white blood cell count was normal at this time. The doctor recommended to monitor and have a follow-up test in three month's time.
Three months passes and I remain fatigued, and the joint pain is on and off. The rash mostly just appears after showering. I'm not sure if it's related, but I started coughing up a large volume of tonsil stones. My follow-up blood test showed that my iron had returned to its normal borderline low levels! everything else had returned to normal, except my white blood cell count. The total count had decreased but was still within healthy levels. My neutrophil levels had decreased by 50%. Everything looked pretty normal, so despite still feeling bad I didn't test again for another 8 months. I felt embarassed to talk to doctors as I felt like I was wasting their time.
Over those 8 months my energy levels took a nosedive. I could only last until around 3pm before feeling incredibly tired. I am not a big caffeine drinker, and drinking tea didn't help my energy levels. I get around 8 hours of sleep per night. I started taking iron supplements with vitamin c, but there was no improvement. The strange rash continued after showering, however the joint pain decreased (but still occured). I saw a doctor who confirmed the rash wasn't due to scarlet fever. He told me not to be concerned as it may be due to a skin allergy. I was feeling nauseous every morning, and my abdomen was constantly bloated. I often experienced severe pain just under the ribs. I also got recurring pain in my lower left abdomen and my doctor suggested a possible hernia. At nights I would again feel nauseous. I was still eating like normal. I always felt like there was something caught in the back of my throat, and I had a lot of excess mucus. I was constantly clearing my throat.
I mainly noticed that wounds were bleeding for longer and I had a lot of mouth ulcers. My gums would bleed overnight and are always an inflamed red colour despite regular burshing, flossing, and dental checkups. Also strangely I have had new brown moles appearing even in places not exposed to the sun. Around 5-6 new moles appear per month. I had a skin check by a dermatologist, and he confirmed no skin cancer. He biopsied two moles which came back healthy. I have been getting itchy red sores on my hands and feet which come and go. This is different to the other rash, and happens mainly when exposed to moisture for too long.
Still feeling very off, I went back for the next blood test. My cholestorol had reverted to the previous low levels, and my glucose was very low (borderline hypoglycemic). I have no family history of diabetes. My total white blood cell levels had once again dropped and were now bordeline low. My Neutrophils in particular were clinically low and the report noted mild neutropenia. I had not recenty been sick or had an infection. My iron levels were still borderline low despite taking supplements. The doctor once again said to just do follow-up testing when possible. That was a month ago, and I have since moved somewhere remote with very limited access to healthcare facilities to volunteer.
Since then, my appetite has been steadily decreasing. I have been eating around 1.5 meals a day as I feel very full very quickly. I don't weigh myself regularly, however it looks like I have been losing some weight. My throat is now constantly mildly irritated. A doctor noted that the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck were enlarged, however we chalked this off to me moving to the tropics. Two lymph nodes have remained swollen most of the time, one feels firm and doesn't hurt. The other feels soft and moveable, and is a little sore when pressed. The doctor checked for both ear and throat infections but nothing was found. The doctor recommended an ultrasound of my neck, however there are no ultrasound facilities in the place i'm living.
I had to go to a hospital in a neighbouring location for unrelated reasons after an injury, and they did x-rays of my entire spine. Nothing was noted in the neck area, and no blood tests were taken. I brought up the other symptoms I had been experiencing, but after treating the injury I was discharged.
I am just not entirely sure what to do. I am tired of feeling sick all the time. No changes in diet or supplements have worked, and doctors seem to have no answer for me. I keep being dismissed for a variety of circumstantial reasons like moving to the tropics, being stressed, indigestion, period symptoms. Everyone keeps saying it's because of the tropical climate, but these symptoms have been ongoing since months before, and the blood tests were all taken prior to moving.
At one doctor's appointment he asked if there was a possibility of blood born diseases. I noted that I used to work as a medical sterilisation technician, however I had never had a needlestick injury or other contamination that I knew of. It has been three years since I worked that job.
At this stage I am scared to go back to the doctor as I feel like I am wasting everyone's time. It would take a lot of effort for me to access medical facilities due to my location, and I don't see the point in going in for a follow-up test when I will probably be brushed off again. I would appreciate any advice at all, noting that it is very difficult for me to access medical facilities at the moment.

“What do you think. Dirt or the Nebula?”
“Hmmm that’s a hard one Pen but I think I’ll have to go with the latter… just this once.”
The man shook his fist in the air.
“Excellent! This-a-way then friends!”
His fist turned to a sweeping hand, and he moved off in the direction he’d originally appeared from. The two followed though Gareth kept quite close to his companion and watched the shadows vigilantly. The man quickly led them onto a well-trodden dirt path.
“Good that things turned out the way they did,” the man began as he walked, “A day longer and yall’dve missed the festival. Then again, we mighta pushed it back. Wouldn’t’ve felt right to celebrate when people are missin’ their people. Still, yer found. Just in time to enjoy the harvest.”
“Harvest?”
“Yup, were self sufficient out here… not really to be honest. Plenty of technology. Plenty of help from the cities and were not isolated but we try to keep to ourselves. Town is mostly people who enjoy a quieter life. Oh, uh I suppose I never introduced myself. Casius. I hunt for the town mostly. Tend a little garden. Keep Riley company. Riley is that old wolf.”
“You keep that wolf company?” Gareth asked.
“Well, she ain’t domesticated but she split from her pack a couple years back and keeps to the area near town.”
“Why’d it split from its pack?”
“Too old. Wolfs’ll reach an age where their experience doesn’t outweigh their slowing bodies. At that point they take it upon themselves to wander off. Not burden their kids. She’d’ve starved by now but… well I can’t help but leave some bits and pieces for her. Feel bad I guess,” a small smile came to his face, “She loves fish.”
“That’s kind of you.”
“Eh in some ways it is. In some ways it isn’t. Sometimes I think I’m only prolonging her suffering, but I suppose if she were really ready, she’d stop taking what I leave around so… maybe not. I can’t not anyway so not much point in waffling about it.”
“Suppose Riley knows her business better than you.” Gareth offered.
The man laughed.
“Exactly.”
A few minutes of silence passed, broken when Casius announced their arrival.
“Here we are.”
True to his claim, the walk took only twenty minutes or so before they could see the lights of a town down the way. Pen almost lamented their decision to rest when they did. If she’d pressed on even another minute or so they would have found the path on their own. From there she would have insisted they continue, and poor Gareth never would have had to come face to face with that wolf.
“You know. If it weren’t for the dense tree cover, we might have seen the light from where we set camp.” Pen said aloud.
“Most likely.” Casius responded.
Pine and bark abruptly opened to a sight Penelope didn’t quite expect. It wasn’t a town of metal and clean macro-printed construction. Instead, hand-built log houses lined dirt and cobble roadways. Yet perfectly fused with the old was modern technology. The town clearly had power and any amenities that couldn’t be accomplished by older means were not lost in any capacity. It created an interesting but not discordant aesthetic. Hovering vehicles traveled down streets lit by standing torches. Wooden houses were lit from the inside by electric lights and boasted solar panels on their thatched roofs.
Pen also noticed that there were no farms despite Casius mentioning a harvest. What at first glance looked like nothing more than untended verdant growth was actually quite the opposite as she looked closer. The trio walked through the town and instead of cordoned fields with rows of crops, it seemed like every inch of unused ground was sprouting with some kind of food producing plant. There were plots dotted through and around the town dedicated to this. Seemingly rampant overgrowth was actually well thought out edible plant guilds. Gareth watched as a woman passing them on the street stopped to pick what he was fairly certain humans called a “peach” and bite right into it as she walked off.
The town was quite abuzz at the moment. People were jogging here and there setting up streamers and unloading boxes. As the three came to the center of town they saw a number of people setting up massive oak tables in a circle around a large tree. From a bird’s eye view the town center might look like a sun with the tree as its center and the streets, and now tables, as rays.
“Ohhh she’s comin along. And now your people have reason to celebrate too. Speakin’ of yer people should be this-“
“PENNNN, GARETH!” a squeaky voice yelled out.
Pen couldn’t see its source immediately, not amongst the moving people. Soon enough, though, scampering out from behind a stack of boxes and rushing towards them was a little grey furred creature with his telltale puffy tail.
“I’msogladyoureokayohmyohmyohmy.” Thwilll was talking so fast Pen only knew what he was saying by the tone of his voice.
“Yea were oka-”
“You… Ahhhh! You jumped out the back of the ship!!! Everyone is going to be so very happy! How could you do that!? You’re not injured, are you?”
Thwilll gave Gareth a lookover and then jumped up onto Pen and began inspecting her closely.
“Surprisingly uninjured, though my stress has been quite high, it’s probably even starting to show. Nothing that a few days of relaxation won’t cure.”
Pen looked him over and noticed a general pallor to his shell. Once vibrant teals and oranges seemed to have been leeched away.
“Some well-earned relaxation that’s for sure.” Pen said with a soft hand on his back.
Thwilll sniffed Pen closely and scrunched his nose and held his head away from her.
“Mmm rest and some baths. No offence pen but… you stink.”
She laughed at the little chinchilla-like creature’s blunt comment.
“I’m sure I do! I’d kill for a shower.”
The man had stepped aside to help another straighten out a bench but turned back.
“I can take ya to the town hall, it’s where we were headed before we met the furry fella. The captain should be there with the mayor. After that I think we can get y’all cleaned up.”
“Yes, yes! Deag and the others don’t know yet! We’ve got to tell them!”
Thwilll scampered off towards the tree, stopped and turned back to wave them on, and then continued on past the tree. Pen thought he looked a bit like a particularly puffy meercat in that moment.
The man chuckled, shrugged, and walked onward.
“Heh, well the fluffy little fella is goin’ the right way.”
Pen and Gareth looked at each other and followed suit. They both marveled at the large tree as they passed by. It stood like a thick trunked oak, but its green leaves were speckled pink all through its boughs.
A short jaunt and a couple of turns took them to a larger building. Not hand built like most, but machine printed and clearly for a communal purpose. Pen and Gareth noticed Deag first given that he stood apart from all the humans around him. He paced near a human woman. Small as she was it was clear she was in charge as she was acting as a locus of activity. At any given second she was directing one group or another. Deag was clearly not really there, lost to his own thoughts.
“Deag! Deag! They’re okay!!!”
His eyes shot to Thwilll and then immediately up to Pen and Gareth. He lit up and jogged over to them.
“Pen! Gareth! I’m so happy to see you. Of course, I had complete faith… that said it takes the weight from me to see you safe. You aren’t injured right?”
He looked over Gareth and noted the stress shell then turned to Pen. Not quite knowing what to look for he looked for her to signal one way or the other. She shot him a thumbs up and a wink. He knew what a thumbs up was by now and nodded in relief.
The woman found herself in a lull of people needing her attention and took the chance to walk over. She stood shorter than Casius and certainly shorter than Pen but had an air of authority about her. Casius certainly seemed to shrink under her gaze. Pen noticed he actually didn’t seem to even want to meet her eyes. It was to such a degree that he was legitimately using Pen as cover from the woman.
She reached her hand out to Gareth and then Pen and shook them both. Bronzy tanned skin darker than Pens grasped them. She had some age to her. Her wrinkled face was weather worn but she smiled kindly. Her grip was soft and warm.
“Mayia. Pleasure. Gonna go out on a limb and guess you are Gareth, and you are Pen.” She looked up at Pen and raised her eyebrows, “Sheesh. Well, we’ve got places where you can get cleaned up and a change of clothes for you Pen. I’d offer a change of clothes for you Gareth but… I don’t think we carry your size or number of arm holes for that matter.”
Her tanned face gained even more wrinkles than normal as she looked the alien over. All she could imagine was what he might look like in a sweater. Adorable… in an ugly way.
“I appreciate the thought.”
“… I suppose I should also ask. A big basin of water? Soap? Do you… need…”
“Water will do fine. I’ll pass on the soap though. Anything else I can get from the ship… which is not in a heap of rubble?” Gareth looked over to Deag.
“The Nebula is in one piece… banged up but fixable. The mayor contacted the city. They’re going to tow us to a port for repairs.”
Pen caught Deags eye and did that thing where she said nothing but looked at him as if she were saying something. It had confused him for quite a while, but he learned it was her conveying meaning with just that one look. It was something a lot of humans did and though he doubted his ability to recognize the meaning in someone other than Penelope, he was starting to understand what certain looks of hers meant. Currently she was letting him know they needed to talk about something urgent.
He nodded to her but spoke to both her and Gareth.
“You get cleaned up though. I’ll let the crew know you’re okay. We can rest and get situated, enjoy a celebration apparently? We will have time for anything else later.”
Pen caught his meaning; glad that he understood her look.
“I’m dying for a shower.” She sighed.
The woman pointed back past them with an offering hand.
“Follow me.”

I've spent 2 weeks to make the best character generator i could think of :). Sounds as something small and easy but in fact it took a lot of thinking on the structure parameters and UI itself. +45 kilobytes of code/help was typed :). For comparison, whole first version was 23KB only.
In short, what it does:

you can define any parameters of your future character
you can predefine values for any of these parameters
you can let model generate them and edit then
you have 3 core parameters varying from negative to positive and these can be preset or random.
model will rework everything into a human readable good system prompt
if you use rag (included) it can generate new memories of the character on any topic, inlcuding but not limited to automatic generation of memories about the parameters that you've added to generation. and of course you can edit these.
automatic creation of a character to chat with based on all this data.
automatic creation of any amount of characters with either preset of random data.

-i like watching sports; baseball, hockey, F1, sometimes basketball.

-i work night shift, i I have a pretty unorthodox schedule and sleep during the day and I'm up all night haha
