Am I dressing appropriately for my age and body type?
I'm turning 50 in a few weeks and over the last year I gained a lot of weight. Since I needed new clothes anyway I thought this might be a perfect time to start dressing more age appropriately. I am working on weight loss but in the meantime I want to look my best. My questions are: Am I dressing age appropriately and are my outfits flattering on my size 14P (US) 4'10" body? Help!

2024.05.23 13:56 Nott_the_Brave7 What is this on my inner thighs?

To start I have a doctors appointment scheduled with a dermatologist but it is months out, but if there is a cream or something I can try while I wait I will. This started showing up after I lost a bunch of weight. And my skin is kind of loose here. I would have no clue they are there if I didn’t check, because they don’t feel like anything. They don’t itch or hurt and most of them just feel flat. My initial doctors appt tested me for std’s and all of it came back negative so now I’m waiting 6 months on a dermatologist. I am 28, a trans woman, medications I’m on are adderall, estradiol, spironolactone, busbar, and lamotrogine. I am 5’8” and about 170lb. My weight loss began about a year and a few months ago, but I didn’t start noticing these spots until September. They started forming around the time I noticed stretch marks from weight loss combined with looser skin in that area. I have no know preexisting medical issues

2024.05.23 13:54 OffTheWall992 Does this even sound like SIBO? Is this more anxiety+diet related? TONS of testing

34, M.
I have 1 bowel movement a day, within 30-60mins of waking up maybe skip a day maybe twice a day but seldomly does that happen. I’ve not done breath testing due to the fear of lactulose side effects (diarrhea) and that a 70% sensitivity test seems like a waste - treatment would be Rifaximin and I’ve had 2 GI’s offer me the prescription anyway since it’s well tolerated and isn’t absorbed.
I’ve done extensive testing and almost all of these have been done at least twice over the last 2 years: CBC, vitamin b12, vitamin D, Folate, pancreatic elastase, fecal fat content, Calprotectin, lipid panel, metabolic, liver function, pancreatic enzymes, ultrasound, and an EGD.
My EGD showed gastritis (negative Hpylori biopsy, breath, and stool test). I have BAD anxiety around my GI tract.
I’m eating like 1 maybe 2 meals a week lately, so I have weight loss but I know my absorption is FINE and it’s due to caloric deficit.
Symptoms: slightly looser stool, Bristol 5. Slight burning sensation when I go in the morning. Stomach noises specifically right side lower. Intermittent sleep schedule, mind racing.
No pain. No constipation. No excess belching. No excess gas. No brain fog. No bloating.
My THORNE gut biome test showed no elevations for Klebsiella. A hallmark SIBO bacteria. I do have elevated staph, E. coli, and some strep.
Could this be more gastritis related? Anxiety and diet? If I had SIBO, which I’ve heard is hell, wouldn’t I experience more issues? Those with experience chime in. Debating the breath test now before blindly doing the Rifaximin..

2024.05.23 13:53 kabinski9 Script Not Working the Same After Transition to Schwab

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use the following script for sell and stop targets. Prior to the Schwab transition, the targets would plot immediately after I entered the trade. Now, the targets do not plot until the following day. Any ideas why, or how the script can be modified to work as it used to? Thanks…
input ShowEntry = yes; input length = 14;
def qty = GetQuantity(); def ADR = MovingAverage(AverageType.wilders, high-low, length); def Entry = if IsNaN(GetAveragePrice()) then Entry[1] else GetAveragePrice(); def LastEntryBar = if Entry != Entry[1] then BarNumber() else LastEntryBar[1];
plot Entry_ = if BarNumber() >= HighestAll(LastEntryBar) and Entry > 0 and ShowEntry and qty > 0 then HighestAll(if IsNaN(close[-1]) then Entry else Double.NaN) else Double.NaN; Entry.SetPaintingStrategy(PaintingStrategy.HORIZONTAL); Entry.SetDefaultColor(Color.white); Entry_.SetLineWeight(1);
plot pl1 = if BarNumber() >= HighestAll(LastEntryBar) and Entry > 0 and ShowEntry and qty > 0 then (Entry + ADR * 1.5) else Double.NaN; pl1.SetPaintingStrategy(PaintingStrategy.HORIZONTAL); pl1.SetDefaultColor(Color.GREEN); pl1.SetLineWeight(1);

2024.05.23 13:50 0nlyGoesUp ROI based on days of the week

ROI based on days of the week
I wasn't going to make this post as I was just fucking around with history GME data in excel, but it absolutely backs the idea of option chains and their involvement with price action. This doesn't mean they're good to buy from a retail investors point of view but they're worth keeping an eye on... Because they do move the markets and the stock.

I grabbed the daily historic prices from yahoo in a csv format from the last 3 years (excluding May 24) , cleaned it up and thought of the "Tuesday memes" - does it have some weight to it?

Turns out... well, actually yeah, I broke each week day down as if you only bought and held on specific days. i.e. you bought 1 minute before close on a Monday, held through Tuesday and sold 1 minute before close. - Don't fking day trade GME, you're gonna have a bad time.

I'll start from Thursdays but stay with me.

https://preview.redd.it/qv8zphxmx52d1.png?width=754&format=png&auto=webp&s=39264de65e836629c16756dfb3bc022d5f851adf
This is the 3 year return on $2k if you ONLY held on Thursdays, why? - Because the MM's and hedgies drive the price down on Thursdays to hit max pain, where most options expire worthless.

Fridays-

https://preview.redd.it/1ltp0y0vx52d1.png?width=753&format=png&auto=webp&s=c07fe3dee6312ed0f02c511989182ef258a30133
Fairly flat, they've achieved their goal and just waiting for the expiration.

Mondays -

https://preview.redd.it/ol3ly18yx52d1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=23550a43c85eb678b82fd22f39fcfccda82062cc
Preparing to settle/deliver any options that were in the green, not much happens on Mondays

Tuesdays-

https://preview.redd.it/bpost423y52d1.png?width=753&format=png&auto=webp&s=914dc1c83c4e68995671ebd9e76eb9f656a9aa9f
T+2 Settlement, wtf? You're telling me, that if I only bought and held GME on Tuesdays, I'd be +100%? This is no theory, T+2 is well known.

Wednesdays -
https://preview.redd.it/1vsno4jay52d1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=13b39702aa83fd3a788a02d5be6b0a517295a298
After the settlement, it's time to drive the price down again so calls become out-of-the-money and the cycle repeats, Thursdays hell.

So when you see a metric fuck ton of options, Tuesdays are always on the table.

2024.05.23 13:49 Simple-Spite-8655 Need some advice re: weight gain and breakouts

Hi! Hoping someone here has some insight into what’s going on with my body lately.
About 4.5 months ago I began near-daily workouts. Started with barre, Pilates, power yoga. In the last couple of months I worked my way up to including (very light 2-5lb) weights, HIIT workouts, and running. About 2 months ago I also started noticing that I was gaining weight— not just muscle mass but bloated appearance and some clothes fitting tighter. For reference I’m a 5’3” petite woman. Pre-pregnancy my weight would flux between 125-132lbs (always have trended heavier in the winter). This time last year I was back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. This year, despite more exercise!, I’m at 145lbs and some of my clothes not fitting again. I also started experiencing frequent breakouts beginning about 2 months ago. All on my face— mostly lower face.
I haven’t changed anything about my diet. I eat healthy, whole foods… a pretty solid balance of carbs, protein, veggies and fruits. I rarely have dairy. Some cheese, and very occasional milk w coffee. I have no idea how many cals though. I’ve never tracked.
I drink around 80oz of water per day, as well as tea and a mushroom “coffee” (Ryze).
I am still breastfeeding my almost 2 year old. Said 2 year old has always been a crappy sleeper and therefore it’s very rare for me to get more than 6 total hours of sleep per night, usually in 2-3 hour blocks. I don’t think I’ve slept more than 5 hours at a time (a handful of times) since she was born. It’s definitely starting to catch up to me.
It’s obvious to me that something is out of whack but I don’t really know what to do to start troubleshooting/correcting.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

2024.05.23 13:47 Karasu_145 THEY FIT!!!!!

I bought these mid rise bootcut jeans over a year ago (maybe even 2?) when I was at my biggest weight and got humbled and cried when I couldn't even get them up my legs. I gained the weight so fast that I was kind of deluded about how much I'd gained - I really thought I'd fit into them and it really shocked my system. I called them my motivation jeans, because I love them so much that they gave me motivation to lose weight to wear them. Recently they fit, but I didn't look how I wanted in them quite yet. -3KG later, today they fit and they look good and I'm wearing them out of the house for the very first time and I'm so happy and excited that I cried.

2024.05.23 13:43 ImpertinentNazgul Not Seeing Weight Loss

Long time lurker, first time poster. For backstory, I’m in my mid-40s and have had trouble losing weight using any method for the last several years.
I am trying keto and have been on it for about 30 days. I’ve been in ketosis since I started, and I test daily. I’m tracking calories and macros using an app, and always hit them. I’m always under on carbs, often slightly over on protein. I work out, hard and for 90+ minutes, 3-4 times per week.
I’m not seeing any weight loss. My body shape and tone are improving, but I could just as easily attribute that to my workouts.
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2024.05.23 13:42 Sammuello Balancing your social life with your weight loss!

Having been on my journey since around February this year, I think one of the biggest things that I'm still kind of struggling with is balancing my social life with my losing.
I feel I'm really good at making sure the working week goes well; I eat at deficit every day, and have managed to maintain morning and evening workouts over at least 3 or 4 days, including high intensity spin sessions for at least three evenings a week - but as soon as the weekend hits, I've got plans that usually involve drinking, going out etc and it definitely is a struggle to maintain the composure.
I'm trying to make sure that if i'm going out on a Saturday, either for the day or for a night out, I'll get a gym session in and only have something small for food to try and limit the calories in, but it definitely is the BIGGEST challenge i'm having. Not snacking is a breeze compared to balancing my social commitments!
How has everyone else managed to achieve a good balance? Does it really matter that much in the grand scheme of things over months and years that I'm planning to get healthier and lose weight if I'm going out on the weekend and having a lazy day on Sunday?

I had 99 day before yesterday, and and was singing the 99 bottles song but replaced with monster lol.
Once I earn the points I need, I'll be set for months! great promo to help me stock up. I want to have a good variety so I'm not stuck with same flavor for said months and some flavors don't come in multi packs at the store, so i have to purchase those online or buy them individually at like gas stations.
second picture is one of every flavor I've been able to find near me so far, I'm missing a few cause I can only get some at certain stores and I haven't visited those stores recently.

Long shot, but can anyone ID this?
My parents were in China and brought this back for me, probably 10-12 years ago and then it got kinda buried in the back of a cupboard after a few moves and I just found it again.
Unfortunately I cut off the top of the bag so I could fit it into an airtight container to store so some info may be missing.
I imagine it's not in great shape now but this was one of the only green teas I've ever liked so I'd love to find out what it was so I can find something similar.
Have the bag and dry leaves here, I didn't try to brew it for wet leaves or liquor but I can later if you think that would help.

2024.05.23 13:33 Defiant_Yogurt6869 Did anyone went through a weight loss clinic?

My doctor is older man and he doesn’t believe in weight loss medicine. Ive been another doctor and they just give me a lecture about diet and exercise which I already know, I’ve been trying for several years. Thats the first thing people do to lose weight. I’ve tried the traditional diet and exercise and going to a weight loss clinic is really the last resort. I’m kind of embarrassed
I’m a black woman and I live in Mississippi and semaglutide is banned here so I can’t get it easily online
Im thinking of going to a weight loss clinic but I don’t want to buy their diet plan and books as I know how to eat ready (I’ve already seen dietitian and nutritious before) I’ve also had a personal trainer before. I’ve tried almost everything in the book other than medication. So im only interested in asking for weight loss medicine. Would the weight loss clinic just prescribe me the medicine so I don’t have to spend money on their dieting recipe book?

2024.05.23 13:21 chaoticneutral_9 Week 7 update

Thursday again! This week I am down 6.2 lbs, bringing my total weight loss since starting (April 4th) to exactly 30 lbs. After little movement in the wrong direction last week, it feels great to have such a significant drop as of this morning. I didn’t do anything much different; I had a schedule change at work which has thrown off working out at my local studio. I haven’t been since last Thursday! But I did do a few at home workouts (yoga/pilates).
I’ve been eating an average amount (average for being on tirz), focusing more on fruits and protein. I will have a sweet every now and again. For larger meals, I usually can’t eat more than half of a sandwich/wrap. I don’t know if it may be the onions or jalapeños the wrap had, but I felt like my insides were burning (at the time - I’m good now!).

2024.05.23 13:16 Hoogs Episode #834 - Ozempic: Weight Loss Miracle Drug or Something Darker? Johann Hari on the Benefits & Risks - May 23, 2024

Episode Link YouTube Link
Episode Description:
The quest for a magic pill to melt away excess weight has pervaded human culture for centuries. Fad diets, quack tonics, and mystic elixirs have all offered the allure of achieving idealized bodies.
A new class of drugs is turning that fantasy into reality—leading to astonishing weight loss with just weekly injections. But is Ozempic the miracle cure for the global obesity epidemic or a Faustian bargain?
My guest today is Johann Hari, a New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and creator of viral TED talks that have been watched over 90 million times. He has written for the world’s leading newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Le Monde diplomatique, and Politico. Back for his third appearance on the show (RRP #416 and RRP #661), he’s here to share fresh insights from his latest book, Magic Pill: The Extraordinary Benefits and Disturbing Risks of the New Weight-Loss Drugs, which is a researched yet personalized look at the revolutionary potential and risks of these new weight loss drugs.
Today, we discuss his journey into the world of the new weight loss drug phenomenon, Ozempic. Johann shares his surprising firsthand experience injecting himself weekly with the drug for over a year, leading to dramatic weight loss but also complex side effects. We explore the staggering possibility of these “magic pills” to curb the global obesity epidemic, but also the alarming threats like thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, and muscle wasting.
Johann provides a nuanced look at the bigger picture—examining the role of pharmaceutical profit, societal pressures around body image, and whether medicalizing thinness addresses root causes.
We contemplate the philosophical and cultural difficulties of prioritizing thinness through medical intervention instead of tackling the underlying causes of obesity, disordered eating, societally-induced body image issues, and more.
Is turning our bodies into injected, altered versions of themselves the solution? Or are we just kicking the can further down an even darker road?
However, obesity rates have tripled over the last 50 years, impacting over 1 billion people and causing millions of preventable deaths annually. If a simple weekly injection can melt away the condition and its devastating effects, is that not a miracle to be embraced?

2024.05.23 13:15 Sad_Bastard_Bread Lost 5lbs in 4 days?

Hey guys, I'm trying to lose weight for health purposes. I've never been this heavy before and I really struggle with weight loss as it seems that everything I've been trying for the last 6 months is either causing me to maintain, or actually gain more weight. So I've been doing something wrong.
Anyway, I've started out at 11st 13lbs and my goal is somewhere around 9 st as I'm only 5'1" and I've been there before and felt much better then.
I started a calorie deficit 4 days ago and I've dropped from 11st 13 to 11st 8lbs in that time. I weigh myself at the same time every day, first thing after I've woken up and before I eat or drink anything. Is this progress or is it water weight/other factors?

2024.05.23 13:15 KGC543 Super Frustrated with my Weight

23F, 5'6", HW: 265, SW: 215, CW: 187.2, GW: 140-145, Dose: 5mg *Apologies in advance for the long post*
I started my weight loss journey back in January of 2022 at 265 pounds. My doctor basically told me I was starting to develop fatty liver disease and my cholesterol and blood pressure were through the roof and I was too young to go down that path. This was around the same time I was diagnosed with PCOS. She had so much compassion and that very night I changed my entire life. I started going to the gym and eating clean and well balanced meals and managed to get down to 202lbs after 1 year on my own. After a lot of life events, I gained back some weight and ended up at 215 when my endocrinologist suggested zepbound.
I started zep January 31, 2024 and I have been happy with my results so far. Started at 215, and now not even 4 full months later I am down to 187. Losing 28 pounds in 16 weeks is progress that I'm very happy with. That being said, since the last week of April, I have been losing and gaining the same 3 pounds over and over again. I can't seem to get below 187 and most days in the morning I weigh around 188-189. It's extremely frustrating to go through this because I've been doing all the right things. I eat between 1200-1600 calories a day, do cardio 5-7x each week and lift weights 2-3x per week. I drink plenty of water and get at least 75-100g of protein each day.
I'm thinking it might be because I've been on 5mg since the end of February, but I really want to stay on the 5mg dose for as long as possible. My doctor has me injecting every 9 days because when I do every 7 I get some pretty severe nausea and vomiting. For that same reason she does not want to move me up to 7.5mg in fear of worse side effects. And I also have enough 5mg Zep to last me until August 11th with me injecting every 9 days now and I don't want it to go to waste. (I have been super lucky with the shortage and have not had to go without a box this entire time).
Anyone have any tips for breaking a stall? I'm no stranger to needing to be patient, especially since I've gone through this journey without zepbound for 2 years before I started, but it just seems so difficult to be patient when I'm only about 40 pounds away from my goal weight.
Any advice, tips, or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

2024.05.23 13:14 onandpoppins Desperate - please help me find the most compressive bra possible

Hi all! I am just embarking on a weight loss journey after having gained a lot of weight in a short time. I have extensive ED history so trying to get active with my breasts is proving really difficult. Ideally I need a sports bra for running and also a softer one for keeping them as flat as possible day to day. They’re inescapable and causing me a huge amount of distress daily. I really can’t overstate the impact they’re having on my mental health. I don’t have measurements right now as that will cause a meltdown lol but I understand that I will have to take some. My rough guess would be around 34-36 band and lord knows the cup size - obscenely massive.
Please help! I just want the flattest chest possible - I’ve looked into chest binders and post surgery bras - anything will do even as a stopgap.
Many thanks
