Hello everyone, I’m posting here bc the Fanatec forum didn’t have any solid answers for me. Lmk if you guys have any suggestions.
I received a ClubSport DD on the 29th of January as an 18th birthday gift. As incredible as it is, the person who bought it for me told me that they actually ordered a CSL DD (5nm) kit but was sent a ClubSport DD base instead. This also showed on their order confirmation email and receipt. As weird as this was, I didn’t complain or try to return it since it was a brand new product at the time and I was happy to pay for a new wheel and pedals myself in order to use it.
Fast forward to everything arriving, I set it up for the first time using the control panel and everything works without a hitch. However, being new to Fanatec products, I immediately tried to update all of the suggested firmware on the control panel without doing my research first (which would’ve told me that Fanatec products are notoriously problematic with software updates). Despite all of the updates looking successful, the drive base was completely bricked afterwards and will not be recognized by the control panel. I am certain that this is a connection issue. Everything is clearly getting power and the base attempts to calibrate itself, but it is still not recognized on my computer.
I’ve done just about every possible fix I can think of, I’ll list them all here in case I missed any:
Power cycled PC and drive base (CS DD only has one mode so that’s not a possible issue)
Unplugged any and all peripherals that could have been interfering
Connected drive base both with and without wheel and pedals attached
Used the in-app firmware repair tool
Uninstalled & reinstalled control panel and firmware files
Removed the wheel base from device manager (has not reappeared since)
Swapped and replaced all powedata cables and tried different USB ports in my PC
Downgraded the running driver version (455 to 454) haven’t tried any older versions since I’m not sure they are even compatible with CS DD
Updated every possible windows update available on my PC, just in case
I’ve sent in my support ticket as of nearly three weeks ago and, as I’ve learned is typical, have not received a response. I’m also assuming I will not be able to get an RMA due to it being a different product than the one they originally ordered.
So this is where I need advice. I’m fairly convinced that trying to fix this thing is a lost cause. I’ve considered opening it up to better understand how the software is stored and see if there is some other way to revert it, but i’m well aware that this is a bad idea. But I’ve been dealing with this for months now and I’m running out of options. The only other solutions I can think of are:
To sit and wait an hope for a response from Fanatec
Try to get an RMA, even if it’s for the wrong product, and hope that they accept it
Try to fix it myself (I know nothing about Fanatec electronics so I don’t know if this is even possible)
Sell the base on eBay for parts and downgrade back to a CSL (this one honestly makes the most sense to me atp since it’s better than nothing.) My wheel, slide, and pedals are also compatible with CSL
Scrap the base, sell everything else, and switch to Thrustmaster (or Moza if there is a way to connect to ps5).
Lastly, to shed some light on my personal situation. I am trying to make the leap into competitive sim racing. My old setup was an ANCIENT Logitech driving force GT, and I was still able to stay consistently in top 1% of global lap times on FM7 and ACC. On top of this, I’ve also had SCCA, ICSCC, and IRDC licenses since 16. I’m very passionate about racing, sims are just the more affordable option for me. All of this is to say that I’m certain my gear is truly what’s holding me back at this point. While I don’t think it’s smart to just throw money at this problem until it goes away, I’m willing to do whatever I need to at this point.

TLDR: ClubSport DD bricked after firmware update with no apparent fixes, Fanatec support not responding, need advice on what to do now

Anyone have any luck finding antiperspirants that aren't powdery florals? Not that I don't like those, but it would be nice if I had other options. They tend to overpower gourmand perfumes on my person. I'm specifically looking for antiperspirant not aluminium free deodorant.

The sales manager there for the sake of legalities will only be referred to by her first name which is witch
LA fitness has already fired her once before then they bought her back in September of2021
Reason for termination is unclear but was said to be discrimination against African Americans, Gays/ LGBTQ community and making anti semetic remarks but nobody knows for sure what the reason was for here termination, but it had ti be bad enough for them to hire her , Luis Maio one of her former sales his said “ I heard it was for embezzlement “ if that’s even true , since when did embezzlement become a re- hirable offense???????? ( again no one knows its that’s true except for the higher ups at LA Fitness
On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to
The Witch/ dark haired sales manager who proceeded to tell him
“ oh you know Dante has been missing from the front desk for 10 minutes now, the disabled employee responded “ I’m sure he’s in the gym , maybe just using the restroom, “
Sales Manager the Witch response was:
“ oh come on now James , you know how THEY are ( referring to African American people in general) he’s missing in action by now he’s probably already home counting his welfare and food stamps balance” she continues “ you and I weren’t raised that way , we were bought up differently “ the disabled employee, proceeded to tell her “ I’m sure he’s in the gym and I’ll find him”, however you and I are nothing alike you are a racist and as soon as I find Dante, I’m reporting you ( sales manager ) to Human Resources “
The Witch didn’t care as she was just about to have this young kid fired for in her words “ time fraud”
In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?
Mind you he was not even gone from the front desk but 6 minutes I checked the video footage!!!
Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!
And we proceeded to tell him that the witch said; you “ were probably missing in action already home counting his food stamps and welfare checks”!! Imagine how he must have felt extremely awful we proceeded to contact Human Resources and reported her to them snot her racist remarks.
They said “ oh we will look into it”
Did they ??? No, never !!!!
They allow her to behave like this and it’s been going on for years now !!
Mind you a good percentage of the members that pay her paychecks are African American or of Caribbean descent , in addition many of the members are of the LGBTQ community!!!
Obviously they are not aware of the racism there because if I we’re African American/ Cary, I’d cancel my membership and bring my business to any other gym besides LA Fitness but since they don’t know any of this nor do any members of the LGBTQ community which also many of the members there also identify as LGBTQ !!
So the front desk person who also happens to be of LGBTQ community, and identifies as such ,
Sales Manager The Witch decided she was going to send slanderous/ defamatory emails in retaliation for the front desk guy ,James , to Human Resources, all of which his front desk boss Frank went to Sales Manager The Witch on THREE separate times begging her and telling her to “ stop sending slanderous/ defamatory emails about my employee James who happens to be disabled, he additionally told her that Human Resources, copied Operations Manager Frank on her emails he to sales manager The Witch
Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”
Her response was:
“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’
James immediately recognized the guy ( Damien) and said can I see you’re I’d or scan in for me. Obviously he knew he was banned so James said you have to leave , that’s when he said “ I k ow what you drive you know how I roll and that I’m packing!!!
Earlier in that same Day ,Area Manager Robert attempted to “ Terminate “ James because he felt Joni and him could not get along!!
James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!
Sales Manager the witch told the janitor
“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! Kinda unbelievable, apparently they also didn’t realize that falsification of termination or any employment records was illegal and whoever’s names are on those papers , is facing criminal charges.
James happened to run into the girl they used as their scapegoat and had her lie fir them so they could at least have something on him to terminate him, what they didn’t think about the highly unlikely chances The girl they had lie for them and James would ever cross paths , well they did in a store in Pompano City Place while shopping !
Bottom line , James wants this to go to court in front of a judge trial , jury and MEDIA, he’d rather NOT settle , he wants Everyone to know what happened to him Plus how they treat their employees.
After plenty of discussions with numerous legal entities and Attorneys, they all agree that IF LA Firness consulted with their in house attorneys, , they would have NEVER advised them to convict a story and have another employee or employees to lie and falsify documents . La Fitness has options like for example take the time have a sit down meeting and figure out why the witch hated James, then simply say , ok if you hate him and now he definitely hates you , , Witch you live in Boca, James you live in Oaklsnd Park, would either of you consider the option of transferring??
But they Never employed any type of conflict resolution, which is commonplace in most ethical workplaces , but remember, this is LA Fitness, they have no logic or do not know how to resolve easily resolvable situations.
As consumers you HAVE a right to know what is going on behind the scenes at any business you give you’re hard earned money to, imagine if it was you’re child the Witch accused the young kid wiring the front desk of being on food stamps and welfare, even worse imaging if they had asked you’re son or daughter to lie for them and not even tell you’re child or loved one what the legal consequences were for making falsified statements or signing falsified employment documents which were turned over to the Department of Labor!! That’s an entire different legal situation they put themselves into . They ( La fitness ) thought “ oh what are the chances of them running into each other?” Well they did

Howdy! I'm a firm believer of IRL and online friendships being almost completely different, and I've found that the longest friendships I have had are with specific kinds of people, so I'm looking for people who "meet these requierments" so to speak.

• Plays video games, I DID ask for a "long term gaming buddy" so I'm looking for someone to play co-op games with (I.e Terraria, Don't starve Together, 7 days to die, COD III zombies, etc.). Huge, massive, giant plus if you also play Overwatch 2 - might be looking for a duo.
• Don't expect this to go further than a clingy friendship, I'm AroAce, so I promise you, if you're looking for a relationship, this ain't it.
• Live in Europe, so we'd have similar time-zones.
• Speaking of clingy friendships, I love to just send lots of texts about random things (I.e updates on the show I'm currently watching, crying about programming, whatever other wacky thing happened at that moment) and I want to get the same energy back. I see online friendships going nowhere when people don't talk regularly.
• Last, but not even close to being the least, be free. I'm not expecting you to also be chronically online, but like I said in my previous point, I expect the same energy back, if you don't have any time to open up your phone in the middle of the day and only reply to my text like a hour before you go to sleep, this isn't what I'm looking for in an online friend, sorry.

I am working as a software architect, but on the side I do some small projects - simple websites for small companies or associations. And as much as I wish to completely drop the Wordpress and do it in only Next.js (or similar) I am a bit struggling to recommend this solution to the client. Not because of the technology itself, but because of how/where to host it.
Let's compare WordPress (I really don't like it, it is not technically a good solution) and Next.js.
WordPress:
The client buys a generic hosting with a domain for WordPress, gives me full access to it, or SSH (or FTP 🙄) and PhpMyAdmin credentials and that's it. I upload files and that's it.
Next.js:
The client buys a generic hosting with a domain because he needs an email and domain anyway. I as a developer need to create also: - Github repo - app on some of providers (Vercel, Netlify, Firebase ...) - database (Mongo atlas, Neon ...) - email provider to send transactional emails (Mailgun, Sendgrid, Resend ...) - authentication provider (Auth0, Firebase, Supabase ...) - configure DNS records
Q: Should I create them for free with my account? and in the case of an accident, nobody will be able to access it? Or should I create them as "team" subscriptions, but that will add to the cost (ie. 19$/m for Vercel, DBs are expensive)? Currently, I ask the client to create a developer email account which I use to create accounts on these platforms. Which works to use the free tier, but takes time.
And the free tier - it is always more than enough, but I fear saying to the client that the service (app hosting) will be free and then because of traffic I didn't expect, a lot of server-side function calls, or DDoS he receives a huge bill. (it happened to me, that we moved uploaded images to the GCS bucket, and then the customer paid 80€/month because of the network traffic, yes cdn would solve it, but still not for free)
So cons:
WordPress: 1. it's WordPress 2. cost 50-70€/year
Next.js: 1. need to create multiple services, which may or may not be free 2. hustle with accounts if I want the free tier 3. if there's no documentation, the next developer will have a hard time finding what is where 4. explain to the (probably non-technical) customer that he needs all these services 5. cost could be 0 but also that easily could grow to 50+€/month = 600€/year 6. still needs a hosting provider - cost 50-70€/year
The cost might not be a big deal for companies, but for starting businesses or associations I have a problem justifying why the price is higher than the price of generic hosting if they need "only a simple" website.
What's your opinion/experience with that? Something I didn't take in account?
ps: I know there are also some other solutions like having a virtual machine which has a fixed cost, but it would require installing and maintaining everything.
___ my background: I've been doing websites and web apps for the past 18 years so I went through changes from the websites with 5 PHP files through, various PHP frameworks and CMS, JS SPAs, Node.js applications and now I am doing a lot of full-stack JS apps (Next, Nuxt, Remix ...). So I am not new to this world and I have plenty of experience with them and also with clouds.

Hi Tarnished fellows. I have a theory about the story of Shadow of the Erdtree that I will explain below.
First of all, it has been pointed out in various posts that Miquella and Griffith from the Berserk manga bear striking similarities. These similarities will be assumed in this theory and we will look at the story from the point of view that Miquella is supposed to have a similar story to Griffith's story. Up to this point, Miquella has been introduced as a benevolent and saintly figure who is loved by everyone and has made various sacrifices. Similar to the general perception of Griffith while his 'shadow' was Femto. I will go to the expressions of the trailers, which if we put together, they will support this theory.
First, the important phrases of the gameplay trailer: 1. "Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men. There is nothing more terrifying." The above statement is said while showing the image of Miquella's cocoon. This cocoon is very reminiscent of the egg in which Griffith was about to be reborn as Femto. The combination of this evocative image and the wording that expresses concern about Miquella's fearsome ability leads to the suspicion that Miquella is being reborn as an evil being like Femto.

1. "In that forsaken place, blood must spill. The blood of your fellows, the Erdtree faithful." The above phrase is said while a blood-colored sky is shown and then a swamp of purple flowers that reminds St. Trina. In my opinion, this phrase refers to an event like the Eclipse that will happen at the end of the game, and the said fellows will be sacrificed by Miquella to achieve his goal.
   
2. "They were never saints. They just happened to be on the losing side of a war." The above phrase is said while the basket-like enemy is shown like those in the story trailer, and then the lion dancer. We didn't have a clear idea of ​​this battle until the release of the story trailer. It was discussed more in the story trailer and now it seems that Messmer's army was/is pitted against the army associated with Miquella. In my opinion, this phrase refers to the army related to Miquella, which is contrary to the common belief that they are saints.
   
3. "I presume you, too, are keen to know. Just what kind Miquella is doing here." The above statement is said by the same person who said the first statement. With that in mind, this phrase adds to the dubiousness of Miquella's intentions and his presence in the Land of Shadow.
   

Now let's go to the important phrases of the story trailer: 1. "Miquella the Kind spoke of the beginning. The seduction. and the betrayal. An affair from which Gold arose. And so too was Shadow born." This phrase is said by a person who is also said the one below. A person who seems to be a loyal follower of Miquella. It is not clear exactly who the said seduction and betrayal is about (maybe Marika and Radagon since saying this phrase is associated with showing Marika, and maybe Mohg kidnapping Miquella). But for whoever it is, I think that's just what it means on the face of it, and in fact it is Miquella who "seduces" his companions and others by showing a benevolent intention and performing seemingly selfless actions (which fits with the first, third and fourth phrases from the previous trailer) and "betrays" his loyal companions by creating an event like the Eclipse and sacrificing them. An 'affair' from which 'Gold' (Miquella's saintly persona) arose and 'Shadow' (Miquella's Femto-like persona) was born.

1. "And so kindly Miquella would abandon everything. His golden flesh, his blinding strength. Even his fate. But we are not deterred. We choose to follow. Will you walk with us?" This phrase is said as people are shown standing in front of what may be Miquella's Great Rune. I think these sentences show the false impression that the followers and others have of Miquella and their loyalty while they are deceived.

Now that the expressions have been discussed, I will tell my guess about the story: The war mentioned in the trailers is not in the past but in the present (or at least if it happened in the past it is still going on). From one point on, Marika realizes the nature, intention and danger of Miquella as the most fearsome Empyrian. After Miquella enters the Land of Shadow, in order to prevent Miquella from becoming a god, Marika both sends Messmer to stop him in the Land of Shadow and hides the story and the Land of Shadow from others.
The gate that Marika is standing in front of is the gate between The Lands Between and The Land of Shadow, where the Eclipse (probably not yet complete) took place. The ground full of bloody corpses and the dark sky on her side of the gate are very evocative of Berserk's Eclipse (perhaps this is a prediction that Marika has seen in the past about future events, something like Skull Knight's prophecy in Berserk about Eclipse). Maybe those golden threads that Marika separates from that cocoon in the first trailer are a charm that she puts on Miquella so that he will always be in the form of a child (if we consider the cocoon from before Miquella's birth) or so that Miquella can no longer Pass through that gate between two realms and return from The Land of Shadow to The Lands Between (if we consider the cocoon to be when Miquella enters The Land of Shadow). Miquella is not the saint and benevolence that everyone imagines, but there was a sinister intention behind all the actions he did, and Malenia, Mohg, Godwyn and even The Tarnished are his playthings. The game has a lot of emphasis on the 'shadow' theme, which I think just as The Lands Between has The Land of Shadow in front of it and Erdtree has its shadow, it's fitting that Miquella has another persona who is his shadow (as Femto was Griffith's shadow). In my opinion, the final boss of the game is Miquella reborn and showing his true colors.
In the end, I will also mention some things that are noteworthy: 1. Miquella's followers shown at the end of the trailer are 7, the key members of The Band of the Falcon other than Griffith were 7 (Guts, Casca, Judeau, Pippin, Corkus, Rickert and Gaston). 2. Defeating Radahn is required to enter the DLC. Will Radahn's defeat and the stars start moving again provide the conditions for a Eclipse event? (We know that Miquella was looking for Eclipse.) Maybe that's why Malenia and Radahn fought. 3. At the end of the gameplay trailer, Miquella's Ring Gesture is performed by the Prisoner class, which is said to be a reference to Griffith when he was imprisoned. 4. The sequence where Miquella (or St. Trina?) is falling is reminiscent of Griffith's fall in the Astral world (Chapter 83 of Berserk).

It's one of those posts again... But it's really weighing on me and I have no one to talk to about it irl so I'm venting here. If I sound pissed off, it's because I am but it's more of an 'old man yelling at cloud' situation.
Anyway. I diligenlty post a chapter every week. I took a month-long hiatus, which I announced in advance, (for my own wedding, mind you) and I still wrote. What I posted after, it's been absolute crickets. Those were some seriously high effort chapters, with a plot twist and important advances in the story that I use every spare minute to write, and it's so disheartening. I know people are reading because I see the clicks and subscriptions. But it's been freaking lonely. I can't talk to anyone irl about what I'm writing and I feel like people are only reading because they've got nothing better to do but dgaf about the story.
The thing is, this fic has gotten as big as it has thanks to comments. I dropped chapter 1 almost on a joke, because it was a take and style/tone I haven't seen in the fandom. And some people liked it! I got comments saying "this is so refreshing", "the first fic I've seen do this" and it got me so excited. I don't care about popularity, but if at least one person loves the story then it's worth writing. And right now, it feels like the only person is me. So I will keep writing. But uploading, and uploading regularly, is f*cking work. I've been prioritizing this over other stuff I love, other stories I want to finish, and English is my second language, and I work full time, and I got married, and my sister had a freaking baby, and if nobody cares about the latest chapters then I might just go do something else with my time.
I left an A/N saying 'hey, if you've read so far, thank you! Feel free to drop me a smiley'. NOTHING. Like come on, you can't say it's a lot to ask, it's an emoji, not a dissertation, and I'm not demanding it either. Yes, I know nobody owes me anything, and I don't owe them the story either, blah blah catch22, but the truth is even if nobody techically owes anyone anything, it's still not nice. I feel like a comodity. I hestitate to finish it offline and to upload like 2 years later when those who are reading now have forgotten all about it, out of spite. I won't say anything in my A/N cause that also feels assholish. At this point, I'm only uploading for accountability (for myself) because I do want to and plan to finish. How long it takes and whether I post it, idk. I'm on the fence of going on a silent hiatus because this constant cycle of pressure and disappointment is detrimental to my sanity.

I have been with my husband for over 13 years now. It's just recently that am making sense of the behaviours. When he wrongs me. We talk it out like adults and we move on as a couple.when I wrong him he will say the meanest vile things to me. Like how he don't love me, how he will hurt me. How he will cheat on me. When he is saying these things he is usually very angry and eyes black with this look in them I can't explain. He is very charming to strangers, but ignores me when am with him. Talks to me rudely. He loves blame game and being right than finding a solution to any of our problems. He loves to involve others in our issues to make me look bad and evil. It's like one minute he loves me the next he hates me enough to say awful things and threaten to physically hurt me. Over the years of his smear campaign every time we have an issue I have been isolated from people. His family hate me. And he did try the same with my family but I guess it didn't quite work out. I am currently financially dependent on him and we have four kids. Every time we have an argument he threatens to chase me out of the house and the likes. It's no way to live but I don't know how to break free from this circle of love, hate relationship that am caught up in. I feel like I don't even know myself anymore. Like who am I when the person who is supposed to be closest to me see me as worthless and says the most hurtful things in my face while screaming and yelling. It has made me insecure and paranoid. And find it hard to believe a man who can be so angry hurtful and mean does care about me at all. To others he tries to put up a front of being a good person which I find weird looking at how he treats me in private. He also has episodes of depression where he expects me to make him happy or get him out of that somehow. I feel being with him is like me tiptoeing around his moods so that I don't push him off to the yelling, screaming and physical abuse state. A When something good is happening to me he is never genuinely happy for me. Deep down I sense he sees me as a rival. Not a partner. And if I try to tell him things am not comfortable with he says am controlling and he is his own person. I am not perfect i have my short comings. But I don't go screaming and cursing at people because my feelings are hurt. Even when he hurts my feelings. I don't go reducing him to nothing with insults. Reminding him of all the 10 years things he has ever done in our Relationship. It's draining me. I want to think of my kids. I don't want them exposed to this kind of life anymore than is necessary.
