2024.06.05 03:20 kernelofwindows How to run 1.5" pipe through 2x4 exterior wall

I've got a bathroom project that I'm planning on tackling. Unfortunately, it appears that I'll need to run vent pipes through an exterior wall, so it's load bearing. I think code is 1.5" vent pipe size (3" drain) that I'll need to connect to the main stack. This 1.5" inch vent will be 43% of the stud, and code allows for you to double up studs and bore up to 60%, but you can't do that for more than 2 studs, which I will need to do.
Code is of course the minimum so I'm always game to do better if I can. Boring 40% of a stud is yikes to me anyway. I've come up with 2 potential solutions:
* Code mentions that an exception to this rule is if you use a stud shoe. I assume like https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-SS-16-Gauge-Galvanized-Stud-Shoe-for-Double-2x-SS3/100375145 (holy crap that's expensive!)
* Wondering if I'd be insane to put up another set of studs complete with sill + top plate directly in front of the current studs. My pipes and wiring would go through that. This would also give the added benefit of thicker insulation which would be nice since this is a corner bathroom and up till now, it's always been really cold!
What do y'all think?
Edit: I am using this link for "code" https://codes.iccsafe.org/s/IRC2015NY/part-iii-building-planning-and-construction/IRC2015-Pt03-Ch06-SecR602.6#IRC2015_Pt03_Ch06_SecR602.6

2024.06.05 03:18 Elevulture Just got started, trying for Ch 7…should I even pay my upcoming loan/cc bills?

I just sent my completed questionnaire and checklist of docs and statements to my attorney, I’m awaiting feedback, but my question is about the bills coming up. I feel like I don’t know much about this whole thing at this time… and I’m nervous to ever skip a payment. I’ve been existing simply to barely make the minimum payments on loans and credit cards that are spiraling beyond my control with interest. I’ve done everything in my power, exhausted all options (no assets but a P.O.S. car), worked so many jobs. People are telling me not to bother paying my upcoming bills but I guess I’m scared I won’t be deemed a candidate for Ch 7? My lawyer has only said they can’t tell me what to do. It’s vague, I feel lost, have financial trauma and I just need someone to tell me how this goes

2024.06.05 03:12 Any-Bridge782 Grimoire work

i was just wondering if my probability modeling needed to be refined or if its ok as it is. There are profiles in my grimoire that are broad range profiles that are parent profiles of a wide range of psychological profiles. Should I use them when making predictions based on situational energies awareness or should I narrow the profiles down to a sample of the people I generally associate with? I have a total of 512 situations in my grimoire each with their own energy patterns and perceptions influencing the situation, these correspond to a map of productive and destructive energy that tells what energy to use to stop or help a situation move to the next step of completion whether thats a negative or positive end for personal gain or for group benifit. The question is will broad range psychological profiles be accurate in predicting events or do i need precise profiles?

Examples Of Simplistic Music Videos Even A Beginner Music Creator Can Probably Film & Edit

If you’re a music creator and you want to level up by making a music video, here are some examples of very simple videos you can probably create on your own, if you have access to a decent video camera. Most new smartphones have good video cameras built in. If you don’t have a decent video camera yourself, odds are you probably have a friend or family member who has one.
Since you don’t have the budget for a huge epic video like Michael Jackson, Madonna, or OK Go, keep it simple.
Here are some examples of nice-looking minimalism music videos of all types of music:

➧ Minimal Editing Examples

➧ Somewhat Advanced Editing Examples

➧ Simple Still Artwork Examples For Your Song

➧ Tips

• No Logos Or Copyright Violations!
Don’t include logos or trademarks in your video. Don’t wear a shirt or hat with a logo. You can buy hats without logos at major websites for retailer stores. Don’t include a well-known product, toy, or household item showing logos. Avoid shoes logos and automobile logos. Don’t include clips of movies/shows/viral videos unless you have permission/licensing agreements. If you want, send me a message and I can send you a list of numerous lawsuits resulting from unauthorized use of trademarks and logos in videos. You might get sued. You might not. Why risk it? Never free advertise for another business/brand. Most importantly, you want the audience to focus utmost on your song and you.
In this video “Vanlife Home Tour” by Roadside Resident that I made, you can see how careful I was about avoiding logos.
Learn how you can use depth of field camera settings to blur backgrounds when filming. This can help blur out logos in backgrounds. Some newer smartphones have settings to easily do this.
• Don’t Let Music Video Directors/Editors Convince You To Use Flashing/Static Jolts
In the short attention span era, a lot of music video directors and/or editors seem to think you need staticy jolts and flashing lights. Nonsense. That garbage is irritating to the eyes. Think about it. Would you like someone irritating your eyes with a flashing light? Also, flashing lights can be a risk to people with photosensitive epilepsy.
Worth Reading:
• People Doing Interesting Things Are… Interesting
Instagram and TikTok are full of popular videos of people demonstrating how they perform interesting work or hobbies. If you know of anyone who has an interesting job or interesting hobbies/skills/talents willing to give you permission to film, that can make for an interesting video. Just remember – avoid logos and ensure safety! If you know of anyone who can do interesting athletic things or dance, perhaps you can get them to star in your video. In this “Creeping On The Dancefloor” video by The Zutons, you can see how they complied videos of people dancing to make the video exciting. The Zutons themselves mostly stay in one location while they physically move their arms a lot – and the editor cuts to the videos of dancers. Although it probably took a long time to edit, this video likely can be made by any editor with intermediate level skills. It’s a relatively simple showing interesting people doing interesting things.
A more simplistic video of an interesting person doing interesting things is “Control” by band Too Close To Touch. This video has a lot of edits. An amateur or intermediate-skill-level director could make a more simplistic version. The video revolves around a guy painting artwork. In my opinion the jolty edits are unnecessary. Nonetheless, an interesting person doing something interesting is already entertaining.

Hello lovelies! I'm planning on moving this summer and I've been feeling really drawn towards Pittsburgh, which seems to be in a pretty interesting spot right by a mars/neptune crossing. Would love to know if any of you have any insight as to how these two seemingly very different energies play together. I'm very curious about how living on my mars AC would play out esp as my relocation chart would put my libra mars in the 12th house, which sounds kind of spooky lol would very much appreciate any insight ya'll got for me! I included my natal chart and relocation chart as well, and feel free to ask for any other info you might need :)

2024.06.05 03:09 Individual_Candle4 Fired for not submitting to a monitored drug test to be performed by a co-worker

I started a new job yesterday- one I was very excited about. The job includes working with troubled youth, who we (my employer) occasionally perform drug tests if the parents request it (these are simple 7 or 12 panel tests purchased from Amazon). At the end of my workday, I was told to go with my co-worker to give urine for a drug test. I was a little confused but I stood up and followed a co-worker. She led me to the bathroom a few yards away and told me me to provide a sample without closing the door. This is a one toilet bathroom, like 6'x6' so she's in the doorway, basically standing right in front of me. She sat one of those Amazon tests on the counter and gave me a cup. A few thoughts went through my mind -
  1. It's a violation of my privacy to make me take my pants down in the first place. I'm at work!
  2. The person doing the test will know the results and frankly, my health and medical conditions are none of her business. If I pop for an anxiety drug, I have to explain. Pain medicine? Explain. Stimulant? Explain. All none of her business (or my boss'). I have no way to know that she would keep that kind of thing private, nor do I owe it.
  3. If I don't complete the test, they assume the worst about me. I work as a recovery coach in a small town. I am certain word will get around.
  4. Pre-employment, or post, should be done by a third party for privacy and all sorts of chain-of-command stuff. I should add that this employer does not send these tests for confirmation to my knowledge. This is in no way any kind of medical facility and I have no idea how or if these bozo's have any training or knowledge about testing.
  5. This is bullshit and they can't make me pee in a cup any day they choose without doing it the right way.
I did not provide a sample initially because I couldn't pee. I was given 2 bottles of water and told that I couldn't go home until it was done, otherwise I would be terminated. After the second trip to the bathroom (it's after 9 pm by this point and I'm irritated and want to go home. I say "no, I won't, maybe this isn't the right job for me." I was shown the door. The more I think about this, the more angry it makes me. Am I wrong?? If not, what are my options? I live in the US. Kansas to be specific.

Hello friends, really considering adding this Frogman to the collection, but I don’t necessarily want Bluetooth. Is it mandatory to pair the watch to a phone? If not, what features would be missing due to not having Bluetooth enabled?
