2024.05.23 05:02 geopolicraticus Paul Oskar Kristeller and the Status of Historical Knowledge

Paul Oskar Kristeller

22 May 1905 – 07 June 1999
Part of a Series on the Philosophy of History
Paul Oskar Kristeller and the Status of Historical Knowledge
It is the 119th anniversary of the birth of Paul Oskar Kristeller (22 May 1905 – 07 June 1999), who was born in Berlin on this date in 1905.
Kristeller is most widely known for a popular anthology of renaissance philosophy—Renaissance Thought: the Classic, Scholastic, and Humanist Strains—and I quoted Kristeller in my episode about renaissance philosopher Franciscus Patricius. Here is Kristeller on the historiography of renaissance humanists:
“The humanist works on history have a number of peculiarities, both good and bad. They are often written in a highly rhetorical Latin, and they show the influence of classical historiography in the use of fictitious speeches. Since they were usually commissioned by the very state or city whose history was to be written, there is an element of eulogy and of regional or dynastic bias, something which I understand is not entirely absent from the national histories of modern times. On the other hand, the humanists usually did not place much credence in miracles and avoided theological speculations, and they tend to account for historical events on a strictly rational basis. Moreover, they often had access to the archives and original documents illustrating the subject matter of their history, and employed more exacting standards of documentation and historical criticism than had been the custom during the preceding centuries. Valla’s treatise on the Donation of Constantine is a famous example of historical criticism in the fifteenth century; in the sixteenth, we might single out humanists such as Sigonius, who must be considered in their erudition and critical acumen as the direct forerunners of the great historians of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.”
Kristeller wasn’t exclusively a renaissance scholar. He was also fully engaged in the philosophy of his time. Kristeller edited and wrote the introduction to Siegfried Kracauer’s book on philosophy of history, History, the Last Things Before the Last. In my episode on Kracauer I quoted from Kristeller’s introduction to Kracauer. Of Kracauer’s book Kristeller wrote, “I profoundly agree with the spirit out of which all of his work was written,” so at least some of what he says about Kracauer applies to his own conception of history. In his Foreword to Kracauer’s book Kristeller wrote:
“On several important issues, Kracauer hesitates to give a definitive solution, but rather formulates a problem and thus lays the ground for further thought. The discrepancy between general and special history, or as he calls it, macro and micro history, represents a serious dilemma. Kracauer seems to think that the results of special research are so complicated and so resistant to generalization that most of them must be ignored by the general historian. I tend to be slightly more hopeful, and to believe that the results of special research, after some lapse of time, will penetrate the general histories, and that the diversity of contradictory details can be handled in terms of comparative and qualified statements.”
And…
“Another basic dilemma that Kracauer forcefully presents but does not resolve is that between chronological time and ‘shaped’ time, or between the general sequence of all events occurring at a given period, and the specific sequences peculiar to one particular area or tradition. Again I should be inclined to be more optimistic, and try to lay the stress on the pluralism of cultural history, while maintaining the concept of universal cultural history at least as a regulative idea in the Kantian sense.”
Thus Kristeller presents himself as being more sympathetic to the possibility of a philosophically informed history (or what we could call a macro-historical account) eventually coming into being, than was Kracauer, but Kristeller is also willing to grant significant concessions to the idiographic conception of history implicitly held by Kracauer. In another place in this Foreword, Kristeller notes that Kracauer was less interested in philosophers discussing history than in the actual practices of historians, so we shouldn’t be surprised at Kracauer’s philosophical skepticism, which Kristeller does not fully share, though he implies that his point of departure in philosophy of history is similar to that of Kracauer’s.
As I discussed in my episode on Morton White, there is a tension in those philosophers of history that claim to follow the lead of the practicing historian, because they want to borrow the authority of the historian within his own discipline, but they rarely want to follow the historian’s lead in all matters theoretical. And many historians seem to leave no theoretical lead for the philosopher to follow, or it is a very slim lead at best. This might be better expressed as there being an overlap between the practicing historian and the philosopher who takes his inspiration from the practicing historian. Where exactly is the overlap between the practicing historian and the philosopher of history, and how extensive ought it to be?
More often than not, the overlap is an idiographic orientation toward historical knowledge, along with the conviction that philosophers seeking nomothetic explanations have gotten lost in specifically philosophical problems that aren’t firmly rooted in history and the study of history. On the other hand, there is a perceived gap between historians and philosophers of history who make no pretense of taking their talking points form historians, which is what I just called philosophers discussing history, in contradistinction to philosophers discussing the work of practicing historians.
It is worth mentioning in this context that there is a temperamental difference among those philosophers who are impatient with other philosophers who they see as getting too deep in the weeds on specifically philosophical problems, and those philosophers who are impatient with other philosophers who get too deep in the weeds on specific disciplinary questions that are not part of philosophy proper. At least they have their impatience with each other in common. For my part, it makes perfectly good sense that philosophers should discuss specifically philosophical problems, whether related to history or not, but there is a certain mauvais foi about this at present.
We can see more hints of Kristeller’s idiographic epistemic orientation in a 1943 paper co-authored with Lincoln Reis, Some Remarks on the Method of History. In this paper the authors wade into the venerable question of historical methodology, seeming to come down on the side of Dilthey, Windelband, Rickert, and Isaiah Berlin, inter alia, that history has a method all its own, and this is a method of particularity, not one of general laws, i.e., idiographic rather than nomothetic:
“…the special contribution of the historian is the reconstruction and interpretation of specific events. It results from the combination of elements united by the historian and made accessible to the reader. Every element of that combination must be supported by the proper evidence, and thus the whole combination must be verifiable. It is a picture rather than a causal generalization. Though it includes causal relations, it is itself not a causal relation. For this reason, narrative rather than generalization is the only possible mode of presentation of the historical event.”
However, Kristeller goes a little bit further than most philosophers of history who contend that the historical method is not that of the natural sciences. He places this unique historical method and its narrative products in a larger context that includes rather than rejects natural science and philosophy of history:
“We have said that universal laws or rules have no place in the actual work of the historian, which consists in fact-finding and interpretation, but that they do have their place before and after this work, and outside history. They belong to a different field which we may prefer to call sociology or rather the philosophy of history. Hence the philosophy of history will make use of the work of the historian, and to a certain extent it will provide him with the guiding ideas for his work. It is this latter fact which explains why the historian himself very often is also a philosopher of history, and rightly so. This accounts for the point we have discussed above, that is, that some people have taken the philosophical statements of great historians as authoritative statements about the actual method of historical investigation. The main requirement for such a philosophy of history is that it should be critical, not dogmatic, to use the Kantian terms. What it says about general laws of history should be tentative and flexible, since the precise manner in which these rules should be applied is a matter of debate, and it should be subjected to the test of further historical research. Otherwise it is as harmful to historical research as general metaphysical preconceptions are and have been to the progress of the natural sciences.”
Kristeller is saying here that philosophy of history is distinct from history itself, and part of its task is to place history in a larger epistemological framework, which latter would include the methodologies excluded from narrowly historical inquiry. However, I don’t think that many historians are likely to take kindly to the idea of philosophers of history providing them with “guiding ideas” for their work, which he implies is another task of philosophy of history, though Kristeller has formulated this a little ambiguously, so that we could give his sentence the opposite meaning, namely that the philosopher of history should take his guiding ideas from history.
At the same time Kristeller holds that the historian is also a philosopher of history, at least in some cases, or at some times. This is a theme I’ve discussed in several episodes, quoting Hayden White on every history involving an implicit philosophy of history. One of the distinctions we can draw within the philosophy of history is between those who hold that philosophical ideas distort and contaminate history, which ideally should be a bare account of facts, so that true history is innocent of all philosophy, and those who hold that all history involves philosophical presuppositions, whether or not an historian wants to acknowledge his use of them.
An overlapping distinction is that between the historian as historian and the historian as philosopher of history. One and the same person might put on the hat of an historian and write history, and then swap his historian’s hat for the hat of a philosopher of history, and in this way provide his own guidance, and integrate his strictly historical work into a large epistemic framework. In this way, a philosopher could provide the guiding ideas for a history, because they are his own ideas. And in this context, when then historian and the philosopher are the same person by turns taking different roles, this is the same thing as historians providing the guiding ideas for philosophers.
The same year as Kristeller’s paper with Lincoln Reis, 1943, Morton White responded directly to Reis and Kristeller in “A Note on the Method of History,” and he, too, goes a little beyond the familiar dialectic and keeps moving the ball forward:
“In general, I think, it is rare to find disciplines distinguished from each other solely on the basis of the number of logical concepts they employ. In this case, so far as I am able to see, Reis and Kristeller would have us rigidly separate two disciplines simply because one of them employs the logical operation of generalization or quantification, whereas the other does not. On the whole, I think, the history of the empirical sciences teaches us that this divorce is a rare one. Moreover, the history of methodology teaches us that it is a dangerous one. For these reasons, I think that Reis and Kristeller are wrong in their analysis of the nature of historical statements, and not only that—historians who practice as if Reis and Kristeller were right would do well to change their procedures.”
Both Kristeller and White are trying to get at the big picture, but each of them sees a slightly different big picture, hence there is a distinct role for history in each of their big pictures. As recently as 2018, Kristeller wrote in his paper “Philosophy and Its Historiography”:
“Philosophers who claim to explore the status of historical knowledge have written about general laws of history and about causal explanation. These topics may concern the philosopher of history and also the sociologist or anthropologist, but they are speculative and derivative, and at best marginal for the practicing historian or philologist.”
Again in it we see the idiographic orientation and the effective irrelevance of philosophy to history, though I’m not sure how Kristeller’s dismissive attitude to philosophy in relation to history is to be squared with his claim that historian could take the directives of philosophers for the guiding ideas for their work, but, as we saw, this claim can also be interpreted in the reverse sense, that philosophers of history should take their guiding ideas from historians. Kristeller’s views on philosophy of history did not substantively change from 1943 to 1985, as he is still making the same point, but here it has been shorn from Kristeller’s larger point from his earlier writings about the reunification of knowledge within a larger framework.
The previous quote from Kristeller was used by Fons Dewulf in his 2018 paper “Revisiting Hempel’s 1942 Contribution to the Philosophy of History.” Dewulf concludes this paper with the following observation:
“The disappearance of the Windelbandian problem left open what kind of philosophical questions one could ask about the historical sciences. Here, Hempel’s paper saw its most visible contribution. It suggested the centrality of a philosophical concept that had not yet received much analytic attention, namely ‘explanation.’ In Hempel’s and Oppenheim’s 1948 paper, ‘Studies in the Logic of Explanation,’ explanation became a central concept for understanding scientific activity in general, and thus a prime object of analysis for the philosophy of science as a discipline. This in turn was refracted into an analytic philosophy of history that in the 1950s and 1960s focused its debate around ‘historical explanation.’ Thus, when Dray looks back at four decades of analytic philosophy of history and lauds Hempel’s 1942 paper, he testifies to these shifts that radically changed the methodological and conceptual norms for a philosophy of history. And when Kristeller laments the path of the philosophy of history in the twentieth century, he also attests to these shifts, but evaluates them differently, since it is his methodological and conceptual voice that became lost in the disciplinary norms of the philosophy of science and the philosophy of history after the Second World War.”
The Windelbandian problem, as far as I can ascertain in this context, is a neo-Kantian understanding of logic as transcendental logic, i.e., determining the conditions of the possibility of knowledge, which in this case means the conditions of historical knowledge. We can find this in Windelband’s Theories in Logic, from which I quoted in the episode on Windelband.
Windelband’s conception of logic is much more comprehensive than that of Hempel. It was the disappearance of this comprehensive point of view in logic that led Anglo-American philosophers of history, following Hempel, to think of logic exclusively as an extentionalist modern formal logic, which is all about determining the conditions of valid inference. The extensionalist conception of logic, which is pervasive in contemporary mathematical logic, and in analytical philosophy built on mathematical logic, is prima facie less relevant to history than traditional logic. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is Dewulf’s point about the different valuations of this historical development made by Dray and Kristeller.
Logic has gotten trapped into its current extensionalist incarnation by its own precision, which no one wants to surrender, but that leaves a great deal of what we would like to think of as rational thought without the immediate assistance of logic. We can shift this problem a bit by recasting it from the problem of the role of logical inference in historical explanation, to the role of rationality in historical inquiry, or intelligibility of history. Whether or not historical explanation conforms to canons of extensionalist validity is a much narrower question than whether historical inquiry is a rational enterprise and whether history itself is intelligible.
Certainly, Morton White and Kristeller have somewhat divergent conceptions of scientific rationality, and therefore different conditions for the intelligibility of history. Dewulf formulates this in terms of the logic employed in historical explanation; above I characterized it in terms of a different conception of how history fits into the bigger picture of human knowledge. But the Windelbandian problem in the larger sense, in the sense of whether history has its own distinctive methodology, which is in turn the perennial problem of whether history is a science, has not disappeared.
This problem can be temporarily papered over, but it always returns, and it will continue to return until we formulate a conception of science and a conception of history sufficiently comprehensive that the two either fully coincide, and it can be shown that history is definitively a science, or that the two overlap to some degree, and the extent to which they overlap, and at what points they overlap, can be definitively shown. This addresses the point about the reunification of knowledge in a larger framework that I mentioned earlier. History and philosophy of history are incomplete until we can do this. However, logic and science are also incomplete until we can do this.

The One Great's Identity Finally Solved?
In the new trailer, we see meaty bodies strewn everywhere as Marika (i think) cracks open a gateway.
I, like many other people made the connection this was likely the crucible, a merging of all life and i was inclined to agree.. But then someone pointed out something else... It looks very reminiscent of a certain God Eating snake.
https://preview.redd.it/24ykbf4du22d1.png?width=988&format=png&auto=webp&s=5fd602a4b8c682577e8dd928da7e8d4a36640767

Rykard is known as the lord of Blasphemy.
What are his intentions? He wants to devour the gods.. Actually, i think he wants to devour literally everything. As when we read the weapon description for the Devourer's scepter, it says this :
Scepter in the shape of a serpent devouring the world. This weapon will one day become the very symbol of the Lord of Blasphemy. One of the legendary armaments.
A vision of the future briefly seen by Rykard in his final moments before being devoured by the great serpent.
So.. In being devoured by the giant serpent, we become one.
Rykard sees the future, and supposedly this is what will occur at some point.
In his final line, he says "A serpent never dies" and that he can't be held captive.
What he is really saying here, i think.. Is that the serpent is inevitable. This is a VERY important line, because it gives us a hint as to what the serpent represents.
The Ouroboros
In hermetic alchemy (from which Elden ring clearly takes a lot of inspiration) the ouroboros is a symbol of, and i quote from a youtube video that describe it best : "primordial unity, and eternity. It is a symbol of the cyclical nature of the universe; relating to something that has existed from the beginning that cannot be extinguished."
\"All is One\" and \"The One Great\"
I quite like the image above because it has even divided the snake into a light and shadow half, which we know Marika (i think) divides the world into.
The "All is one" makes up the shadow and the light. Marika then divides the one, and we get out two worlds. One of shadow, one of gold/light
The Ouroboros is also depicted as a serpent on the tree of life and tree of death, connecting the top of the tree of life to the bottom of the tree of death. Again, a connection between the light and shadow, unifying all.
So What Might the One Great Be?
A giant snake the size of a world, most likely.. Or atleast something big enough to wrap around a giant tree.
Another interesting sidenote.. Did you know that the ouroboros can also be depicted using a dragon?
Perhaps it was infact a gigantic dragon as opposed to a snake.
https://preview.redd.it/jeh7q5nw132d1.png?width=143&format=png&auto=webp&s=45b42aea1141700d1d4e1f7aa304bc8b18ae0410
This column here depicts a bunch of bodies bound together by what looks like a snake. Perhaps this is the form the crucible took; or something similar. In the picture below you can see the snake wrapped up the two trees, connecting both ends.

2024.05.23 01:55 Lopo555 [D&D 5e] Seeking tips and wisdom on how to accurately represent and roleplay the inevitably multiple personalities and quirks of an insane flying ethereal skull companion that the party rescues

…that is actually the embodiment of Sirhivatizangpo, the Prince of Lies (hear me out now k)
For context, I’m DMing for a group of 4 with the almost entire homebrew plot being an alternate universe-y depiction of the Time of Troubles. In said depiction the Faerûnian pantheon goes absolutely haywire around that time, as dark acolytes of an ancient, demonic cult possess the god of artifice and crafting and use his power to create magical artefacts to enslave and psychically torment the gods in. One of the first to be punished (for all the evil and sodomy I suppose) was Cyric, and being turned into a sentient flying skull (ironically) deprived him of his sanity, as well as his memories. After the PC’s make him regain control (by coming into contact with another deity, being personal item of one of them) he is bound to travel with them, searching for the culprits of his enslavement.
All of my players are close friends, I’ve had a few lengthy sessions of both D&D 5e and Call of Cthulhu with them (except for one, who is completely new to TTRPG’s). They all agreed upon a flying skull companion (a shared idea inspired by Planescape Torment’s Morte), but they certainly do not expect him to be an utterly insane, weakened god. He is crucial to the plot in general, and will inevitably become the first thing the PC’s will refer to for gameplay and trivia tips. I intend to mitigate his knowledge and usefulness by relying on some kind of system to determine whether he is able to somehow aid the players, or blabber nonsense and in general act accordingly to the malign of eternal madness.
Now the latter is tied a test of my wits to consistently play out many different surprising roles for him, and this is where my problem begins. That’s the reason I marked this post as “mechanics”. My main issue is that I don’t really know how to accurately play out his troubled and mysterious nature, and how exactly to show how mentally scarred he is while playing different characters and roles (for which I intend some funky voices and all that too!). I’ve already gathered multiple inspirations for his personalities and voices from songwriters (including but not limited to: Lemon Demon, Tally Hall, That 1 Guy, Caparezza, Bnny Rbbt, and notably some ERB verses and characters), but no actual ideas for how he could act in conversation.
It’s also the meat and bones of the personalities in conversation with the NPC that I’m worried about - how to balance playing out his insane nature while making him “work” as a somewhat wayward but functioning library of information? How to act out madness deeply and not just e.g. consistently give him insightful visions and make him quote one of "himselves" from his different pasts in a cryptic way? At the same time – make him act out his madness and do things to throw the PC’s off-guard a little – but then as to not make him too obnoxious..?
I should also mention that I actually got a hand-sized plastic skull prop for him – I also intended on using its tangible form for acting somehow, and I would love to hear your ideas.
This post is a long doobie of loose ideas I know, but I appreciate if you’ve got this far and get the point. How would you guys, and gals, handle this if you were me?

2024.05.23 00:49 Existing-Pack9599 Who/what will be the true muse moving forward?

I have to start this post with a baseline statement that I think most Gaylors are in agreement on: that Matty was performance art and is the convenient beard who has been served to the Hetlors/genpop on a silver platter via TTPD as the forbidden love affair “muse” since the Red/1989 era. Of course, us Gaylors know otherwise and although we may disagree on the identify of the true muse we all agree it’s a woman lol.
With that said, it’s clear TTPD is her way of killing off this muse and moving on (see quotes below from her TTPD Instagram post).
“This period of the author's life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up.”
“Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.”
If the secret muse is now a closed case, and we are to assume that this means Real Taylor is finally trying to move on from the real muse, I wanted to ask the community who or what we think is going to be her inspiration for her future albums and art? So much of the last 12+ years have been her telling such a consistent story through recurring themes and symbols, that I am so curious what she plans to write about moving forward. Surely she won’t be able to write about pining for a forbidden love anymore given the PR narrative of Travvy and the ending of Matty & Joe, so where do you think her art is headed?
Can’t wait to read people’s thoughts and predictions!

2024.05.23 00:01 CMDJojo My first ever proc-macro: `#[pack_bools]` that collects all bool fields into a single numeric field

I recently released my first ever proc-macro called pack_bools. It was a nice mix of frustration and joy as i had to navigate around syn, proc-macro2, quote and all the other tools. Some problems I encountered was that while syn was awesome for parsing the TokenStream, there was really no easy way to instantiate the AST structures from it, and I was kind of lost in how I was supposed to quote structures I had destructured. Also, it was quite hard to debug, I often got error messages like unexpected ,, but even with cargo expand it was sometimes invisible. But, I managed at last, and I am proud of the final product. Feedback highly appreciated!
As a quick decription, the macro turns structs looking like this: ```rs use pack_bools::pack_bools;

[pack_bools]

[derive(Debug, Clone)]

struct Config<'a> { output_name: &'a str, verbose: bool, pub use_colors: bool, original_file: &'a std::path::Path, legacy_mode: bool } ```
into structs looking like this:
```rs
[derive(Debug, Clone)]
struct Config<'a> { output_name: &'a str, original_file: &'a std::path::Path, packed_bools: u8 }
impl<'a> Config<'a> { /* getters and setters for the fields, with the same visibility as the fields */ } ```
I also added lots of configuration options, inspired by serde, so you could do #[pack_bools(newtype)] to use the newtype pattern for the packed bool field, and much more. I looked around at crates.io a bit before making this, but didn't quite find anything just like this; I found some macros that generated bitfield-structs, and some macros that could expand a u8 field into multiple boolean fields with getters and setters, but I like the "clean" interface this crate provides.
As said, feedback greatly appreciated!
Since most of today’s social communication platforms did not exist at the time the council went into effect, it does not address them specifically. Still, it addresses important issues that arose during the dawn of mass media and are still applicable today. In his article Vatican II on Media and Social Communication posted to the Word on Fire website on January 2, 2024, theology professor Dr. Richard DeClue offers a synopsis of Inter Mirifica and relates how it can be applied to today’s media technologies while also tying it into the mission of Word on Fire.
First Media Key: Balance
The first media key is balance, which, “calls us to base our understanding of the media we use on careful thought and research,” (Gan, pg. 21). To properly utilize balance, we must not make rash judgments based on our own biases, but rather we must examine any piece of media and take multiple factors into consideration. For example, who is the target audience? What was the intent of the media maker? We must also look at the context of certain actions portrayed to see whether they are in line with morality.
This article shows us how Inter Mirifica approaches the media with due scrutiny, while also highlighting its great potential for good. It refrains from making blanket statements and acknowledges the multiple uses of the media. Thus, it made use of the first media key by examining the topic from every angle without bias. As stated in the article, “The document treats media in a balanced way, recognizing that media is a tool that can be used for good or for ill,” (DeClue 2024). The article demonstrates how the Second Vatican Council used balance when issuing its statement on mass media by assigning judgment only to certain media content as opposed to mass media as a whole.
Second Media Key: Attitude Awareness
Attitude awareness is being conscious of the mindset of intentions of the creators of whatever media we choose to consume. Because we have the potential to be greatly affected by the images we encounter, this second media key is vital if we are to maintain both individual and societal well-being. Attitude Awareness, “keeps us on our guard, helping us to maintain a critical perspective about the messages coming at us through the media. It also enables us to be aware of media-makers’ agendas, and less susceptible to the subtle yet real brainwashing that can take place when we fail to look at media with a critical eye,” (Gan, pg. 37).
The article quotes Inter Mirifica, saying, “All who, of their own free choice, make use of these media of communications as readers, viewers, or listeners have special obligations. A proper choice demands that they fully favor those presentations that are outstanding for their moral goodness, their knowledge, and their artistic or technical merit. They ought, however, to avoid those that may be a cause or occasion of spiritual harm to themselves, or that can lead others into danger through base example, or that hinder desirable presentations and promote those that are evil,” (Inter Mirifica 8). Therefore, we have a duty to be aware of the underlying attitudes of those who created the media we allow to enter into our lives so as not to cause spiritual harm or scandal.
Third Media Key: Dignity of the Human Person
Of course, all good media must be consistent with the Catholic view on human dignity. In real life, we have the obligation to treat others as beings made in the image and likeness of God, and this should also be reflected in digital media. Infinite Bandwidth states that, “Media should help us understand our dignity and the dignity of others. Media should also help us understand the importance of giving ourselves in love to others,” (Gan, pg. 53).
The article gives us an example of the third media key by quoting Inter Mirifica, which says that all messages relayed through the media should be, “within the bounds of justice and charity,” and that, “not all knowledge is helpful,” (Inter Mirifica 6). We see that Vatican II warns us against publishing information that would be unhelpful or contrary to justice and charity even if the information is true. Thus, the article highlights the importance of treating human beings, both off and online, according to the intrinsic dignity that God has endowed them with, and any media we consume should reflect this.
Fourth Media Key: Truth-filled
Infinite Bandwidth reminds us of the important promise Christ made to John: “The truth will make you free,” (John 8:32), and that the media can help fulfill this promise. Therefore, “the media we watch, listen to, read, and play should be filled with truth. It should not tell lies about God or about the human condition,” (Gan, pg. 68). Any media we consume or create should lead others to a deeper understanding of the world around us and God’s plan for creation.
The article describes how the Inter Mirifica acknowledges a right to certain information, and insists that “the proper exercise of this right demands, however, that the news itself that is communicated should always be true and complete [i.e., not false or deceivingly partial],” (Inter Mirifica 6). In other words, the facts released by the media should not be misrepresented, taken out of context, or worse, fabricated.
Fifth Media Key: Inspiring
According to Infinite Bandwidth, for a piece of media to be considered inspiring it must in some way point the way to God. This does not mean that all media must be specifically religious in nature in order for it to be considered good, because the world contains many signs pointing the way to God. We know that some signs such as the beauty of a landscape are a part of creation while others, such as great art or music, are made by human beings with the assistance of God. The latter type of sign is what media is classified as. Therefore, “by God’s grace, we make media that inspires people towards their transcendent destiny,” (Gan, pg. 84).
Dr. DeClue describes how all members of the Church are exhorted to use the media for apostolic endeavors, as, “ this sacred Synod advises them of the obligation they have to maintain and assist Catholic newspapers, periodicals and film projects, radio and television programs and stations, whose principal objective is to spread and defend the truth and foster Christian influence in human society,” (Inter Mirifica 13). As such, we are called to integrate the fifth media key into our media outlets so that others might be inspired to come to Christ, or as the article says, “to promote the Gospel and support good media outlets, especially Catholic ones,” (DeClue 2024).
Sixth Media Key: Skillfully Developed
Even if a piece of media contains an inspiring message, it might not be received if said media does not fulfill the sixth media key. Unlike other media keys, the standards by which we judge the technical quality of a piece of media are determined by the culture, since “the Church’s expertise is truth, not camera angles,” (Gan, pg. 101) Thus, we should ensure that any media we produce should adhere to these standards if we wish for its agenda to be taken seriously.
The article mentions how the apostolate of Word on Fire itself seeks “to embody the best of what media can accomplish when wielded for good in promotion of the kingdom of God,” (DeClue 2024). There is no doubt that a large reason for the success of Word on Fire is its ability to produce content that is well-written and well-edited as well as its website, which is up-to-date and easy to navigate.
Seventh Media Key: Motivated by and Relevant to Experience
The last media key entails that media should be made so that its message is presented through a lens that is easily understood by the general public. One is unlikely to have much success evangelizing to the average person by presenting all the technical terms of Thomistic theology, so the prudent thing to do in such a situation would be to use words and speak in such a way that makes the Gospel more easily accessible. Media “should take on familiar flesh and speak a language we know so that we can truly hear and understand the message it presents to us. It should reflect our experience of the human condition,” (Gan, pg. 116).
It is essential that all media we create is motivated by and relevant to experience for it to make an impact. The Church affirms this need, and “Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis have both reiterated this call for the Church to make effective use of media today. Word on Fire has certainly committed itself to answer that call,” (DeClue 2024). By committing itself to creating successful media, Word on Fire ensures that its content is easily understood and related to current events in our everyday lives and the world.
2024.05.22 22:59 CompleteChocolate28 STOP calling it "population growth."
I've noticed a recurring theme among experts, reporters, anchors, and politicians: they all acknowledge that "Canada's population growth is far exceeding housing supply." But then they quickly gloss over this critical point and move on to how we need to boost housing supply as the only answer. Wait a minute, let's back up!
Canadians aren't having babies anymore. The fertility rate for Canada in 2023 was just 1.484 births per woman, well below the 2.1 births per woman needed to maintain a population. So when news broke that Canada's population grew by 1 million people (from 40 million to 41 million) in just 9 months in 2023, that entire increase was due to immigration, mostly from India. In fact, it means Canada took in more than 1 million immigrants during that period, given our negative net birth rate. These immigrants are literally replacing our population. Let's call it what is - mass immigration.
In 2022, the Alberta government held an essay contest called Her Vision Inspires, inviting women to explore how they could contribute to a better society. Everything went smoothly until a participant was awarded third place for their "sexist and racist" essay. The essay argued that women should have more babies to counter Canada's declining population and highlighted the potential societal, cultural, and economic consequences if birth rates do not increase.
This essay triggered many feminists and was misrepresented in the news through sensational headlines and selective quotes. Despite this, a disappointing number of well-informed individuals still found the essay offensive. They seem unaware that without increasing birth rates, Canadians will gradually be replaced by foreigners, causing significant cultural, economic, and societal issues. This gradual replacement is now becoming a rapid one.
What's even more concerning is that the Alberta NDP called for apologies and resignations over this essay, and the Alberta government actually apologized. This outrage was largely fabricated by very left-wing journalists and reporters who were passionately against the essay's message. The government and political parties receive much of their feedback through the media, which takes full advantage of this influence.
In conclusion, this situation highlights the immense power the media holds over Canadians and their politicians. Not even a simple third-place essay encouraging natural population growth can exist without being attacked.
2024.05.22 21:54 robcoz98 Had a interpretation of Antichrist that I wanted to share
Don't really expect this to gain any traction but I just wanted to share a realisation that just occurred to me regarding Antichrist.
So it's been commonly noted that Antichrist is about Matty's complicated history with faith as well as the love for his family. It's definitely the darkest The 1975 song and one of the outliers in their discography and a huge favourite.
However I'm doing a little project at the moment where I'm handwriting the lyrics and I've just had a bit of a brainwave that I'd wanted to put out there to see if it's just me being crazy and overthinking things.
Is it possible that Antichrist is essentially similar to She Lays Down? By that I mean, was the song inspired by Matty's close discussions with Denise in regards to her Post Partum Depression after he was born and her struggles with forming an attachment with Matty when he was an infant.
For those who don't know, Matty did discuss this in an interview with NME at the tail end of 2016, "The song that's most personal to me, I mean, well She Lays Down is about my mum. It doesn't get more personal than that. I'm sure my mum won't mind me saying this but she told me a story when I was about 17 that she was so gripped with Post-Natal Depression and she remembers coming into my room when I was about a couple of months old, lying on the floor and actively trying to love me. How fucking brutal is that? That is brutal, especially considering how close me and my mum are 'cause we are insanely close but that resonated with me so much, I think writing music is such a catharsis and such a personal thing that I think that had to come out. I mean there's song on there about my nana who died and the whole record's completely personal because that's the only reason it gives a purpose for me. I doesn't matter otherwise, I don't care if I'm not figuring something out there's no point."
Thinking of the lines "How can I relate to somebody who doesn't speak?" and "My wife inquired of understanding, but of course my dear, you can't" it's Denise attempting to find why she's struggling to attach with and love Matty. He's a beautiful gift from God but why is she struggling to form this bond. So of course she will question her own faith in herself
If we are to look at the "Antichrist" title of course, one can break it down as Anti-Christ which if you know Matty's whole "Atheist" quote but in recent years he's been open to faith and more of an "atheist" as he put it himself.
However there is also the other way of looking at Antichrist as an "evil" person or "He/She's the walking antichrist" which fits into a mother who is struggling to form a bond with their child as if they've given birth to the antichrist that they are unable to attach to it or they feel like the antichrist for feeling this way about their child
I'm likely overthinking things slightly but just thought I'd put this out there to see people's thoughts
2024.05.22 20:51 MrsCumberbatch19 A high-stake success story. Question and answers, Part 1
To begin with, I’m so so thankful to all the people who reached out to me through DMS and comments. I’ve never received so much love and so much respect in the 29 years of my existence. I cried throughout the day and I’ve read through the comments more than a 100 times already. I’m still trying to digest it all and I’m still trying to internalize this feeling.
Dear Gods,
Know that I’m beyond grateful for all the heartfelt comments and messages and for the first time in my life I can actually see that what I’ve endured and come out of, is a huge thing and I should be proud of myself.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart ❤️
In this post, I’ll write in detail about all the doubts and questions that people have and also try to explain my mindset, attitude and my faith.
Important note:
Many have DMd and asked whether I give coaching, and the simple answer is NO! I’m not equipped to do that and the most important point is, all the answers are in you, you should just know how to ask. But if you people have spare money lying around that you’re anxious to get rid of, I wouldn’t mind lol. But on a serious note, NO I DON’T GIVE COACHING
This will be a series of posts because I have to think properly and answer. I’ll answer 20 questions per post. Please bear with me.
If I haven’t answered your question in this post, it is coming next, but I’ll answer all the questions.
If I haven’t specifically answered your question here but you’ve gotten your answer by reading the response that I’ve given to someone else, please let me know.
I am going in chronological order, please have patience
The most important part, these answers are from my experience and are my opinions. If you do not agree to something, please do comment about it, I’ll be happy to learn about other people’s perspective.
This post is taking more time than I thought it would take, I’m genuinely sorry for making you people wait. Please forgive me
Now onto the questions and answers
  1. What technique did you use the most when you felt most anxious or when you couldn't feel the wish fulfilled?
initially when I started, I started with all the techniques that I read about, you name it and I’ve done it. but eventually I realized that nothing is working, I would get minuscule results here and there but nothing major, my situation was still the same. I left everything aside and started reading again. Strictly Mr. Neville Goddard. I deleted all social media and completely immersed myself into his teachings.
Eventually, I realised that I’m not understanding the most important parts,
  1. Creation is finished
  2. The end is where you begin
  3. 3d is a dead world
  4. Your faith is your fortune
  5. Your state manifests.
I jumped into smaller things after that, money, physical appearance, food etc.
Now coming to the question. When I was/am manifesting the things that I had/have attachment to, as human beings we’re bound to feel anxious, we’re bound to look at the 3D because we’ve been raised to believe that it’s real, that it’s a fact. I broke that belief first. I meditated on the affirmation “3D is an illusion, 3D is dead”.
The most important part is learning to understand the difference between your emotions and your feeling, once you reach that place, once you know where to look, you’ll be able to easily strip yourself off of these attachments and you’ll easily be able to walk in faith.
If I ever felt anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated etc, I would first calm myself down by doing any and everything that helps and once I’m calm, I would close my eyes and meditate and just affirm “I’m in control”. It takes a little practice but eventually as soon as you utter that affirmation, your brain automatically takes this as a sign to calm down and then you can overwrite and move from there.
Under any circumstances, do not try to fight your emotions and do not try to bottle it up. Let it flow please, let it come out. When you feel overwhelmed, remember your bucket is full and it needs emptying. And the moment you try to fight it, you’re telling your subconscious that you’re not even worth some tears. Please don’t do that to yourself. But after all this, get up and claim your victory and live in the wish fulfilled.
  1. What did you do to change your self concept permanently?
Again I’ll have to write a long answer lol.
Due to all the abuse I faced right from the very beginning, my self concept was in the gutter. I’ve been to the darkest places. I wouldn’t allow myself to even accept simplest of compliments from strangers, and when you do that, you’re telling yourself that you deserve nothing and when you’re trying to manifest something that is opposite to your Self concept, there is so much resistance that it becomes impossible to have faith and thus it doesn’t manifest
One day, one of my students reached out to me. I’d just woken up and I saw 15 missed calls from him, in panic I called him back.
To set the scene, he was in an abusive situation, like life or death and he had to get out. I was his trainer during that time. One day during the class (one-on-one), I asked him about his well being and he broke down. Long story short, I helped him get out of it by nailing that woman and he also didn’t have to pay her. Now he’s happily married and has another daughter, the first was from the first marriage.
He called me and said, “Ma’am for what you’ve done, I want to give you something.” He sent me some money and the very first thing I did was, I returned it. He sent it back and told me sternly that if I returned it again he won’t talk to me. I sat there and felt like I didn’t deserve it, I’m looting him etc. That incident got me thinking, why don’t I deserve it? And it’s not like I asked him to pay me, he did it out of his own free will. And for the last few days I was also trying to manifest some money, the manifestation came true but my brain went like “you don’t deserve this and shit”.
This incident actually gave way for the groundwork that I did for my self concept. It took a lot of time and effort on my part but eventually I reached where I am today.
I meditated a lot during this phase and I asked questions. During the sessions a lot of things came to the surface. I wrote down all the things that’s I’ve done or all the things that have happened to me that have given way to the shit self-concept. I wrote everything in detail with all the emotions I felt when it was happening. It took me about a week.
As you can understand these things duck with your brain. I cried so many times, I felt so depressed but I was determined to get these things out of my system. Eventually, I had used up 1 and a half diaries and I realized my trauma goes back to my childhood, since the first time I was molested at the age of 3. And this was the very first incident that dug the foundation of my current self-concept. When told my mother that the teacher is making me do things and doing things to me that I don’t like, she said that it must be my fault, or I must have seduced him somehow. That incident was where everything began.
After writing all these things and crying and looking at walls and everything else you can imagine, I was satisfied. It was cathartic in a sense. I went to a secluded place, sat down and burned both the diaries. It was like a ritual to me.
While burning it, I affirmed that, that person is now dead. All the negative self-concept, all the trauma is also burning with those diaries. I cried and grieved for the person who once was, but she had to go for the new person to emerge.
I was satisfied seeing the ashes. I gave a proper burial to her and her ashes. You people might laugh at this, but as Mr. Goddard said, “you need to kill the old man”, correct? I took it literally and killed my old self through that diary.
Now once I went home I slept, but before sleeping I affirmed that a new person will be born in the morning. Once I woke up I felt refreshed. With renewed vigour I started laying foundation for my new self-concept.
I wrote down all the things that I am. For eg: I’m a kindhearted person. I am loved by all. I am respected by all. I tried putting as much feeling into it as I could. I would listen to affirmation tapes on YouTube. I would write down the affirmations. I would look in the mirror and affirm. I would listen to askfirmations. I committed myself to the process. My goal was to feel good and deserving, that’s it.
One day, I received some money out of nowhere, and that day I took it with gratitude and with the feeling of deserving. That’s when I realised that I changed my self concept.
  1. What was your thought process like when you didn't see any reflection of your imaginal act in the 3D even though you have been doing it on a consistent basis?
I have internalised the fact that 3D is dead, it’s an illusion and also it mirrors our past beliefs. The 3D is a delayed manifestion of the past states.
That is not to say that I don’t get triggered, I do. But during those times, I go in a quiet meditative state and take my power back. I affirm “3D is an illusion and I control the illusion”.
See, manifestation is a life style, it’s not a magic wand! People come to manifestation with the intention of manifesting 1 or 2 things and then moving from there. But Mr. Goddard has clearly stated in his books and lectures that everything begins from the man’s concept of himself. Had your self-concept been on point, your desire would’ve manifested by now. And this is also the reason why we get smaller manifestations easily and struggle with the bigger ones, the ones that we think are big. Because these things are in exact opposition to our self concept and also the attachment to the result is very strong.
No matter at what stage you are on, go back to the basics, it is of utmost importance. And the biggest things that I’ve realised is, most of our desires come from our ego, the need to show or prove something to the world, the need to be powerful, the need to have pride. But once you lay a strong foundation for self-concept, half if not 90% of your desires will no longer be as seducing as it was once.
Coming back to the question, I’m still a human (wearing the human cloak) and I get triggered at times, that’s when I go in silence, I leave the job of human being behind and become an observer. I leave that place completely and do something that my heart loves. I colour or read or listen to music and dance or cook or whatever it is that I want to. I let the human in me calm down first and then I meditate, for as long as I can. And then I come back with renewed power.
  1. What should you do if the 3D isn't showing results? Are you doing it wrong? And what to do if you’re disheartened?
I will start by saying, please don’t forget the fact that YOU ARE GOD!!! Please internalise this. EVERYTHING YOU SEE WAS CHOSEN BY YOU. I know this will trigger a lot of people. But take it from someone who’s been r@ped, molested, abused and you name it, numerous times, TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY!!! LEAVE THE VICTIM MINDSET BEHIND!! NOBODY HAS POWER OVER YOU!!! YOU CHOSE THIS!!!
if you look at 3D with the intention to find results or with the intention to seek validation, you’re renouncing your faith.
YOU CANNOT SERVE 2 MASTERS. YOU EITHER LIVE BY FAITH OR BY SIGHT.
Please please meditate on these words. Because these are the words that gave me the magical results that you people know. Had I not worked on my self concept or had I not realised what I was doing wrong, I would’ve lost my kids.
My only advice for you would be to meditate and internalize the aforementioned words. This world is not as it looks. It’s just a very dense mirage. It’s your delayed past. Look at it from the lens of an observer and move from there.
Now coming back to the doubt part, as soon as we look at the 3D, we start doubting our techniques. The techniques in and on itself can do nothing, it works hand-in-hand with your faith. Techniques are to change your state. If you do not feel fulfilled, do the technique again or change it. There is no technique that is written in stone. The only validation you should take is from your state. Ask yourself this “how am I feeling?”, “what is my state right now?”. If the answers are not in tune with your desires, work on it.
I have been through hell and back, numerous times, but the moment I internalized this truth, I was set free.
  1. Ok i really wanna know how to visualise or to SATS . I struggle a bit. Also is it enough that I affirm once in the morning and once in the night . I sleep with my affirmation audio on too . But I really wanna know if Visualisation is really necessary and if so how do i really get into that "drowsy state" without my mind wandering off too much.
I don’t practice SATS, I practice affirmations but any technique requires attention. I would suggest, begin by visualising an apple or an object that you can picture clearly, let it hold your attention for a bit. Any object you visualise will bore you in a few seconds, but bring yourself back gently, over and over and over, until your body falls asleep and then visualise your scene.
With any technique you do, it always requires practice. Work it like a muscle and eventually you’ll get there.
Everything belongs to you, this world, the people and everything in it is yours. Don’t beat yourself up for not being able to do it. Become like a toddler who is hell bent on eating that chocolate.
No matter how many times you fail, get up and do it again. Please DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.
  1. What can one do with this feaanxiety regarding time (like lets say you want something, you only have 4 days left before the conseqences of not having it affecets you, you have been wary about you having what it takes to use the law in your favour since its been years of being unsuccessful with the law, you have limited time for a full 360)? As in how long it will take, worrying about how much effort, etc. Basically put it all up on a pedastal, having (shaky, because of anxiety and insecurity) faith in the possibility but not in yourself and your ability...yk
please refer to question no 4.
Also, I’d like to add, you’re bigger than any of your manifestations, you are bigger than any person you’re manifesting. Stand still and let the world come to you. About pedestal, you need to work on your self concept to drag everything down and put yourself above it all. Hope that helps.
  1. Hello ! Thank you for doing this ! How did you deal with limiting beliefs? Do you have any advice on how to transform them? Thank you.
Limiting beliefs are strong because you give it your attention and you’re giving it your attention because your self-Concept is not where you want it to be.
Everything comes from SC, everything. You might manifest your desire but you won’t be able to sustain it. Think about the people who win huge lotteries but within months they lose it all. They manifested but couldn’t sustain. Why? Because they didn’t have a good self concept. But think about the people who are born in harrowing environments but make an amazing name and place for themselves, why? Because they have an amazing self concept. They believe in themselves.
On how to change it, please refer to question no 2.
  1. Im Not sure if this has been done because i tried reading most of the comments but how to “trust” in the law, and how to know you are doing it right, And lastly how to “know” the law is working?
Now this is a tricky question. How to trust the law. In my opinion there are 2 ways, you either build it by manifesting small things or if you have a logical mind, you read the texts that are available. So many authors and writers have talked about law of assumption, it goes back to ancient times, surely so many people who’ve lived thousands of years apart wouldn’t lie, now would they?
I want to ask, why is it that you aren’t able to trust it? What is holding you back? What other option do you have? Can you work in the 3D and get results?
The law is always working, you’re always manifesting, your power to manifest is always at the maximal level. You don’t believe it because you’re manifesting the wrong or negative things. Take accountability and look at your life, past, present and all the things that you’ve gone through, take notes and be honest with yourself. I’m a 100% sure that you’ll find that all your beliefs have been the reason for all the things that have happened up until now.
  1. Take rest :) and do tell us what have u worked in terms of self concept. Did u solely worked on self concept beliefs n affirmations or you also focused on affirming for your desires/end goal.
For self concept, please refer to question no 2.
And to answer your question, I also manifested few things while working on my self concept. Like money, gifts etc. Self concept is a life long process, you can’t do it once and stop, you need to keep adding fuel it because most of the times, in my opinion, people see something and get triggered or they internalise something negative and that’s where cracks start forming.
Self concept should be worked on at all times, each day, everyday. And also I was able to manifest other things while working on it.
  1. How did you change your self concept, I am continuously falling in back to my old circumstances. Tried everything but it's being difficult to change the circumstances
Please refer to question number 2
  1. Absolutely loved your post. A few questions that i would like to ask
In the beginning, I used to feel anxious and I would go absolutely insane trying to curb the emotions and I would live in the fear that my fear will manifest. But understand this, that anxiety, fear, frustrations are all emotions. Even in the wish fulfilled, people sometimes feel anxious but if you try and remove it for a second, you’ll realise it’s just your body and mind playing tricks on you. Beneath it all, there’s this little feeling hidden, and that feeling is what is the most important. I read somewhere, that in complete silence do you hear the loudest things. If you silence yourself for a second, you’ll realise that these emotions mean nothing.
In my mind, I refer to my body as “This body”, I know this will create a sense of detachment or depersonalisation and don’t attempt this unless you are absolutely certain that you can handle it please.
I refer to my body as this body and say things like, this body is tired, not I, this body is anxious, this mind is playing tricks, etc. I detach myself from it for sometime and then I talk in my mind, you need to calm down, nothing is wrong, you’re in control, like talking to a child. Eventually everything calms down and then I meditate and bring/attach myself to it again, if that makes sense
Now about time, if the creation is finished and everything is in the NOW, in the present, then where exactly is time? I can understand that, in tne “real” world we very much have to adhere to “time”. But does it really exist? And if it does then revision cannot work. Then everything walks in a liner way, but these things are not at all in proportion to anything that is law of assumption.
what I do is, I meditate again, and affirm “I choose (insert desire) now” and also affirm “I’m in control”. This one is a little tricky but with practice you’ll be able to achieve control.
Also you can affirm that everything works out in my favour. It helps.
Lets talk about something that I’m currently in the process of manifesting, in process I say, it’s because I haven’t reached the wish fulfilled yet. So to point it out, my children’s school fees is pending, which amounts to $2k and as per the 3D, I have to get it done in 13 days, I mean I have until 6th. There are so many bondages here, but what I’m doing is, I’m looking for the feeling of wish fulfilled, I need the experience, and once I reach that, I know it’s done.
Now in the meanwhile, am I anxious? No. Do I get anxious thoughts? Yes, here and there my brain gives me scenarios where the last option would be to jump from a building lol, but logically speaking, nothing in this world should make you feel that way, but anxiety is one hell of a monster, it isn’t logical, but we’re so used to believing everything that our brain provides that we forget to take a step back and ask ourselves, is it really real? Do I want to manifest this fear?
In my case, I’m revising and affirming. Somewhere I’ve almost reached the wish fulfilled, but I’m trying to reach the brazen impudence that Mr. Goddard talks about.
Tell me what should I do here? Wallow in self pity? Or use each moment as an investment and have faith in myself?
I’m talking from experience, once your subconscious gets impressed, you’ll know. Understand one thing, and internalise this, sit with this, WE THINK WE ARE IN CONTROL OF OUR ACTIONS, WE ARE NOT! We’re not in control of our actions, we’re in control of our attention. Mr. Goddard has said this in his books, I’m paraphrasing, we cannot take actions, it’s impossible. Our subconscious/God/Soul takes action for us, we can only change our state and hold onto it, actions happen automatically.”
I will clear this part a little. Think about your morning routine. What do you do? You wake up, brush your teeth, wash your face, apply moisturiser and so on and so forth. How many times do you have to remind yourself of routine? But if you are on a vacation and your routine gets disrupted, then you have to pay close attention to everything right? Say you’re mentally not in a good state, you’ll still do your routine with precision because by now it has become a muscle memory. Even if your conscious mind is light years away, the action is still happening right? So who is taking those actions? Ask yourself.
Someone calls out your name, you might not hear it consciously, but your brain did and you’ll jerk a little, you’ll automatically turn towards it, why?
In the same way, you will know when you’ve reached the wish fulfilled, because it will come automatically. Actions will happen automatically. You’ll drop the attachment automatically. You won’t have to do anything. Your job is to control your attention”
I read this quote somewhere,
”The soul always knows how to heal itself, the challenge is to silence the mind”
I’ll be honest, when it comes to techniques, I’m very spontaneous. Someday I use a specific affirmation, someday a blanket affirmation, someday I dance to a song feeling peaceful, someday I enact the scene, someday I have long (1-2 hours long) conversations out loud, it depends.
Now onto the different desires, while in theory, yes you can manifest multiple desires, I would suggest using a blanket affirmation/blanket scene for it, of writing your desires on a paper with tick boxes vowing to yourself that you’ll only check the boxes when they’ve appeared in the 3D.
One thing I’d like to say is, I always say appeared in 3D because my belief is, I manifest it the moment I feel the wish fulfilled and the only thing left is for it to appear on the screen of my 3D. Like a movie, I’ve written, directed , acted in and produced my movie and given it to the subconscious. I’m sitting with my popcorn and waiting for my subconscious to play it on the screen, if that makes sense.
Now once you’ve vowed, just affirm or imagine yourself ticking those boxes. I’ve used this technique and manifested IPhone, luxury perfume and books. If I’m remembering correctly, I had written 5 things and all manifested within 24 hours.
I hope this answers your question
To be honest, I’ve just started experimenting with revision. But I’ve laid the foundation here, that everything exists right here, in this moment. Everything is in me. I’ve been affirming this for more than a year. So now I’m very sure that revision will work for me like a charm.
If you repeat something enough times, eventually you’ll start believing it. And if you feel like you’re not being honest with yourself, ask yourself, why you think so? Is there something in your past or you’ve done something that has given you the impression that you’re being dishonest? And if you think you’re not being honest, be honest now
To answer your second question, this is very subjective. Because you’re still living in fear if you have this question. Come back to wish fulfilled by using any/no technique. Stop giving attention to fear and start living in the wish fulfilled.
The plain and simple answer is yes. Technically quantum jump is supposed to be done just in your mind but as we’re wearing the “Human cloak”, we live and thrive by looking at the 3D and it gives us a sense of accomplishment by doing something with our hands, at least for me. This little ritual, it actually puts me in the wish fulfilled very easily because I’m doing something in the 3D. I look at water as a life force, vibrational and something that’s alive and when I do the technique, I look at the glasses as 2 worlds, so that’s how it works for me.
I have given it power yes, and there are times that I don’t feel satisfied by doing it, so I do it again. I have to pay close attention to how I’m feeling just before attempting, because it sets precedence to what I’m going to feel next. It’s basically all happening in my mind, but the ritual in itself is catalyst for me to reach the wish fulfilled.
Short answer, yes.
Long answer, technique in and on itself has no power unless we give it power. Think about people who are witches/wizards, people who believe in astrology, people who are superstitious, people who are health fanatics etc. all these people have faith, but faith in something outside of themselves and it always works for them. What they’re not understanding is, it’s them who’s doing it all, they’re just using those rituals/moons whatever as a medium to access the faith that they’ve had in them all along.
See darling, you make the rules. And the first rule that I HAVE MADE is, do not believe everything you see, read, hear etc. Make your own rules. If you believe that, it’ll manifest, if you don’t, it won’t.
During the court case when I attempted a jump, emotionally I was in a bad state yes? 3D was also ducked. But I looked at it as if it’s all in the past, and I persisted in my faith. I had purchased the pearl of great price.
As per my rule, I still think about my desires, I still sometimes feel anxious, but I look back at the ritual and remember the water flowing from one glass to the other and affirm, “THE ACT IS THE FACT”. It pulls me right back.
Yes, numerous. This is the simplest one, and in desperate times when I cannot bring myself to calm my emotions I do this. But there are other methods, if you ask, I’ll post.
Everything is about faith. EVERYTHING. And yes it’s a technique. If you feel it doesn’t work for you, move on. Or, you can attempt it again.
  1. A few questions in one....How did you "occupy" your time waiting for the manifestation...? I know people say to live in the end, but it can be hard to release the "mind chatter" so to speak. Do you use mediums like art or exercise to help yourself? Do you keep yourself in the present moment?
You do not occupy, and if you feel like you’re doing that, it means you’re not in the wish fulfilled. Wish fulfilled means the feeling of satisfaction that it’s done. How can you wait for something that’s yours. Attempt the technique/s again with the intention of feeling fulfilled and satisfied not with the intention of getting it.
Mind chatter. Exercise your self-control. YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO HAVE CONTROL OVER YOUR THOUGHTS. It’s a skill that no one can teach you but you. Work on it. Eventually your mind will become silent, it has to. YOU ARE IN CONTROL.
I partake in my hobbies but not with the premise of occupying myself until my desire “Manifests”, I do it with the feeling of satisfaction/Its done. I do it with genuine gratitude. Because if you’re in the state of waiting, more waiting will materialise on the screen of your 3D.
  1. how to get into sats easily. i always get uncomfortable or feel asleep
If i feel uncomfortable, I do self hypnosis or listen to brown noise. I pay attention to the sensations in my body. I affirm for the longest of time. This part will take practise. Don’t give up. Keep bringing your attention back.
Also you can read, the silva method by Jose silva, it’s a good book to learn about meditation.
  1. How can you manifest something you've always dreamed of, especially when previous attempts and previous manifestations crumbled? For instance, I had a dream job in my desired country. I got my goal, through SATS and scripting, but everything fell apart. I got laid off in my dream country, had to return to my home country, and had to leave my partner behind. How to stay persistent? and how to ensure that the manifestation happens sooner? especially with someone with anxiety and impatience. How can you manifest something you've always dreamed of, especially when previous attempts and previous manifestations crumbled.
Every moment is a new moment. Everything is in the now. Time is not linear and actually there’s nothing known as time. We put ourselves in the bondages.
Persistence comes from discipline. You need to discipline yourself first.
I’ve learnt, everything starts with and from self concept. No matter how you look at it, no matter where you start from, it all boils down to self Concept.
You’re giving too much power to the past, which actually does not exist.
My advice to you would be, DECIDE, decide now that everything that happened in the past does not matter and that you’re starting now, afresh. Promise yourself that you’ll persist no matter what. Close your physical eyes and open your mind’s eye. Look at everything from the “God lens”. Work on your self concept. Lay a solid foundation. And move from there. Now onto anxiety, it’s debilitating I know, but take its power away, tell yourself that it’s just a sensation in the body, it’s what I did, take note that I’ve suffered from anxiety for as long as I can remember, took pills for it. But after fighting with it, I took its power away and told myself that it’s just a sensation in the body, just like any other and after some time it would vanish. It room practice but I haven’t had an attack in 8 months.
Now onto impatience. That’s something that you will have to learn to curb. You can’t wait for what you have. It’s so simple in theory and the most difficult in the practical sense I know. But practice. Talk to yourself, ask yourself. Anything is possible.
  1. thank you for this, your story inspired me a lot <3
my question would be what did you do when intrusive thoughts would pop in your head?
In the beginning, it was scary. Because we’re taught that our thoughts manifest and then it would worry me to no end. It was a never ending cycle. I took a step back one day while I was in the throes of this cycle and asked myself, who’s in control? And then I rewrote that thought. It didn’t disappear magically, but I practiced rewriting my thoughts over and over and over. Our brain is a muscle basically and the more you exercise it, the more you’ll be able to control it.
  1. i want to ask if is possible to change a version of a people,,,,,if is possible to have people back and i want to ask why i have partial manifestations and not consistent
Short answer yes, it is possible. The people that you see are you, fragments of you, manifestations of you, reflections of you. We have a set of beliefs for every person we know. And the people we don’t know show in the state that we’re in. Experiment with this. Just pay attention to your state and see how unknown people show up, look at their behaviour, you’ll get your answer.
Everyone is you pushed out. You manifested them out of your life and only you can bring them back.
Look at each person as a blank slate and not as the beliefs that you have for them. We make this mistake (even I’m guilty of that), of having rock hard beliefs about any and everybody we know. If I ask you about your mother, you’ll talk until evening about how she is, and the same goes for everybody else, but for a second just remove those adjectives and just look at that person in a neutral state and then attach a new belief, you’ll get the results.
Mr. Goddard has spoken extensively about it. Please read his books.
I have changed my SP so much using the same technique that sometimes I myself don’t recognise him.
Regarding partial manifestations, you’re giving too much power to 3D and getting triggered. In the previous answers I’ve written lengthy texts about this, please refer.
  1. You said that you did the two glass method again since you didn't see results and you said do it again with faith if you don't see movement in the 3D. Aren't we supposed to believe past 3D and persist in it? Does that mean you were looking to have the 3D be changed through the process and not inward where it's considered done? That part needs a little more clarification.
So I’ll start by saying that I always do the techniques with the intention of experiencing the wish fulfilled, feeling it done. Now when I say observe the 3D, it means in terms of “OBSERVATION”, neutrally, not in terms of looking for the manifestation.
This is my comment from the previous post.
Keep a note of all the emotions and feeling that you encounter while doing this. Observe the changes that you see in the 3D, but like an observer.
When in school, remember we used to do experiments in the school laboratory and we would be asked to write our observations? We used to write the observations in a very impersonal way, to the point, we wouldn’t ever include feelings or emotions in it right?
Like,
The litmus paper turned green because of the solution’s acidic nature
Or
The litmus paper turned yellow so the solution must be alkaline in nature.
We would never write:
I felt bad that the litmus paper turned red. The solution is acidic and it is messing with my mental health.
In the same way, Observe your 3D like a scientist and take notes, observations and then if you don’t see the desired results, turn you your laboratory, your imagination.
In the case of quantum jumping technique, Take notes like an experiment, write about the emotions and feeling and for the next few days take note of any shifts in your state, in the 3D and work from there. After a few days if everything remains the same, do it again.
Now when I talk about shifts in 3D, it means observe if there’s something different. I’ll give you an example. I have a T-shirt that I purchased because I liked the tom and Jerry’s jerry sticker. I love that cartoon. The night I wore it for the first time I remember my son squealing and saying “mumma I’m tom and you’re jerry”. I looked at myself in the mirror and I saw the sticker. That night I attempted a jump. The next morning I was brushing my teeth while looking at the mirror intensely and affirming, there I noticed that only one red T-shirt that I have, has Garfield as the sticker. I’ve never watched that cartoon in all my life. And an important point to note is that, while I was purchasing it online, my elder son was sitting with me, he got obsessed with that T-shirt because of jerry. I never wear any colour other than black lol. Because of my son I purchased it and then it changed to Garfield.
This is what I mean by observing, observe your surroundings, don’t take validation from it. Hope that helps.
  1. How did you deal with feeling impatient, anxious or upset or feel like things arent going your way? What technique did you use to manifest through these emotions?
Please read the post, I’ve already written the answer to this question.
  1. How did you manifest few things instantly , like you just received the result within a few hours ? without sats
I've internalised the fact that I’m God. Everything belongs to me. I close my eyes and say, “Thank you father for (insert desire)”, and then I let it go. It manifests quickly.
But take note of the fact that I’ve worked extensively on my self concept. I meditate daily onn the fact that I’m God, I start my day by saying that.
  1. How can I manifest everything all at once?
I’m copying the answer from the post above.
I’ll be honest, when it comes to techniques, I’m very spontaneous. Someday I use a specific affirmation, someday a blanket affirmation, someday I dance to a song feeling peaceful, someday I enact the scene, someday I have long (1-2 hours long) conversations out loud, it depends.
Now onto the different desires, while in theory, yes you can manifest multiple desires, I would suggest using a blanket affirmation/blanket scene for it, of writing your desires on a paper with tick boxes vowing to yourself that you’ll only check the boxes when they’ve appeared the 3D.
One thing I’d like to say is, I always say appeared in 3D because my belief is, I manifest it the moment I feel the wish fulfilled and the only thing left is for it to appear on the screen of my 3D. Like a movie, I’ve written, directed , acted in and produced my movie and given it to the subconscious. I’m sitting with my popcorn and waiting for my subconscious to play it on the screen, if that makes sense.
Now once you’ve vowed, just affirm or imagine you ticking those boxes. I’ve used this technique and manifested IPhone, luxury perfume and books. If I’m remembering correctly, I had written 5 things and all manifested in 24 hours.
Please give me some time to post the Part 2.
Thank you.
I love you all ❤️
2024.05.22 19:40 Additional_Aioli_248 You ruined Josh Turner.
I’m not a writer but if I don’t let it out I might die. You’ve ruined Josh Turner for me. I will never listen to music with another man again. What, so they can ruin music? Every artist? Leave me with nothing but association of failed relationships? “your man” IS A HAPPY SONG and all I want is to telenovela dramatically slide down a wall into a puddle of my tears. I can still feel your hand when I hear “Would you go with me”. That’s the song that I held your hand for the first time and when I looked at you after my little ridiculous dance I could swear you fell in love with me then. I can’t erase that look in your eyes no matter what I do. I wish I would’ve fully let you in then. I wish I didn’t have to relive it now in the way that I do. I don’t want you to be a memory. I just want to keep making them with you. We didn’t have enough baby. It’s such a new feeling for me, but I feel so envious of myself from months ago. She’s who was able to touch you and who you woke up thinking about. I’ve never looked forward to “good morning” texts until you. I couldn’t have a good morning without you telling me to. Now I have to look myself in the mirror to tell myself to try.
I’ve never ruined a good thing for myself the way i did with us. This is also such a new brand of pain. I have always laughed at people who write their feelings down. Post quotes on their social media. Talk about their heartbreaks instead of just moving on. Listening to sad music and relating to it. You’ve turned me into such a pathetic cliche. Is this my karma for rolling my eyes at people hurting? I definitely never wanted to relate to them but you have me looking for you everywhere in the most delusional, irrational ways that i have ever experienced. You have me sending letters to you on Reddit. You have me screenshotting quotes (this is the most shocking part for me, i am embarrassed … but also inspired), I haven’t missed a day at the gym (my legs are gorgeous, thanks for the pre-workout), you have me attempting to go deaf to “your man” and “would you go with me”, i have never re-read texts a million times before, i try to talk about you to anyone who will hear me, i have also never sought out happy conversations with a man to relive them… i even bite my lip when its amusing like I’m reliving it for the first time… what the hell did you do to me.
Even if I was scared to let you in, I am yours now, then and for a while i fear. Almost 1 month of us not talking and it’s just me, my tears and regrets now. You are much better company.
This sucks.
2024.05.22 18:02 TheCarsonMowrey ⚠️Long Read but at Ape Level - FFIE Inspiration to hold as the road ahead of us may be long - The War Wages On💎🙌
Hello everyone,
I want to talk about something that’s more than just a stock – it’s about a community of people pushing for hope and change. FFIE is our stock, and we believe in it because we see the potential for something greater. We truly like this stock, and it means a lot to us.
Before we continue, let's be clear about what I am not. I am not a hedge fund. I do not provide personalized investment advice. I am an individual investor. My investments and posts on social media are my own. I'm here to stand with all of you, to be part of this incredible journey.
I don’t think some of you realize how historic this moment is and what it represents. Future generations will look back and say, "Good people stood here, good people fought and believed in something on this ground," as they point to a chart of FFIE from May.
Since the start of the “Stonk market”, two types of people have always been against each other: Lions and Hyenas. The Lions are the Wall Street hedge funds. They have everything – billions of dollars, supercomputers, and even protection from the SEC and the courts. And then there’s us – the regular people, the average Joes. They call us ‘dumb money.’ But we know better.
These hedge fund guys were born into privilege. They have offices with amazing views of New York City, huge bank accounts, and they eat fancy food like Wagyu steak with truffles. Why do we dislike them? They go to the best clubs and get special treatment. They have wild parties on yachts with drugs and escorts. And when these escorts ask, "How do you have so much money?" they say, "Haha, dumb money, babe."
But this is our chance to stand up and fight. Investing in FFIE is more than a financial venture; it symbolizes our unity and defiance. They say this stock is volatile, they say it’s a risk, but we know better. The true strength lies in our collective determination, our shared belief in the cause. Every share we hold is a beacon of our solidarity, a testament to our courage.
Yes, the price may fall. There will be days when the ticker plunges, when doubt creeps in, and the voices of skeptics grow louder. But remember, the value of our endeavor is not measured solely in dollars and cents. It is measured in the strength of our community, the power of our conviction, and the impact of our resistance.
Hold fast, my friends. Stand firm in the face of adversity. Each dip in the price is a test of our resolve, a challenge to our patience. We are not here for a quick profit. We are here to make a stand, to change the game, to show the world that ordinary people, united in purpose, can achieve extraordinary things.
When you feel the urge to sell, when fear grips your heart, think of why you started. Think of the community that stands beside you, think of the message we send with every share we refuse to relinquish. We are the people who stand up for what we believe in, just like Keith Gill, who believed in GME when no one else did. He saw the corruption and greed and spoke up about it, just as we see it in our own stock. He liked the stock, and so do we.
So hold the line, my friends. Stand fast against the tides of doubt and despair. The hedge funds may be powerful, but they underestimate the power of our unity. Let every drop in the stock’s price be a rallying cry, a call to hold tighter, to stand taller, to fight harder.
We are the revolution. And together, we will prevail.
Hold the line, my friends. Hold the line.
inspiration used from quotes of Keith Gill & those who think like us. Thank you all for inspiring those around you.
2024.05.22 16:58 FreedomNinja1776 Jonah Died and Was Resurrected
I just made this as a comment elsewhere and decided to make it a post. I disagreed with someone about Jonah. Most people and certainly mainstream Christian doctrine and denominations think and teach that Jonah SURVIVED 3 days and nights in the stomach of the great fish. This runs absoluetly opposite to the intended prophetic purpose of being a sign for the death burial and resurrection of Messiah Yeshua! Let's analyze the text.
What we percieve as a typical order doesn't really amount to much in biblical prophecy or interpretation. You have to look for patterns. You may not have heard of chiastic strucutre, but this chapter certainly contains this pattern. If you look at the Temple Menorah you're looking at the chiastic structure. If the branches were numbered 1-7, then 1 would pair with 7, 2 with 6, 3 with 5, and 4 would stand as the central theme that connects the whole idea. Sometimes 4 can be a doublet that mirrors itself. These chiastic structure patterns are found endlessly throughout the bible and I would say they are God inspired. I'll show how this looks for Jonah 2.
Number Verses Idea
1 Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the belly of the fish, saying, "I called out to the LORD, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice. A call and an answer
2 For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me; all your waves and your billows passed over me. Mikveh/ Baptism, cleansing
3 Then I said, 'I am driven away from your sight; yet I shall again look upon your holy temple.' The Temple on Earth
4 The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped about my head at the roots of the mountains. I went down to the land whose bars closed upon me forever; yet you brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God. Death and Resurrection
5 When my life was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to you, into your holy temple. The Temple in Heaven
6 Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their hope of steadfast love. Idols are worshipped in vain and produce uncleanness
7 But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to the LORD!" And the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land. A call and an answer
In pairing 1 and 7 the idea is a call and an answer. In number 1, Jonah calls out to God from the depths and God hears and answers him. In number 7 again we see the call and answer. Jonah calls with the voice of thanksgiving, the sacrifice sends that voice to God, and God provieds salvation. In the answer God calls out to the fish, and the fish obeys by spitting Jonah out on the shore. The idea of a call and answer brings up another prophet, Joel 2:32 "And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." which Paul quotes in Romans 10:13.
In paring 2 and 6, the ideas are opposing. Cleanness vs Uncleanness. In number 2 you have the waters of the sea washing over Jonah as he is completely immersed. The billows (waves) passing over him is a reference to Living Water. In the Mikveh purification ONLY living water could be used for making what was unclean clean again. In number 6 we see Jonah affirm that Idol worship is in vain. The Ninevites were idol worshippers and they were unclean because of it.
In pairing 3 and 5, the idea is about the temple. In number 3 Jonah says he is far off from God because of his great distance from Jerusalem. Tarshish where this happened was over around Spain on the opposite side of the Mediterranean sea. Nineveh was in modern day northern Iraq, east of Israel. Jonah rebelled big time. Never the less, Jonah says he will see God's Temple again. This is the Earthly temple in Jersulaem. In number 5, we see Jonah's life slipping away, and his prayer coming to God to His Temple in Heaven. Jonah understood that the Earthly Temple is a reflection of the True Temple in Heaven.
And in Number 4 we have Death and Resurrection, the theme of which applies to each of the other numbers. The waters take Jonah's life, He is in darkness of the deep, So deep that he's at the root of the mountains, Death it seems is forever, but through our faithful God, Jonah is brought out of the depths of death and back into life from the pit. Now that Jonah has been brought back to life, he has a chance to see the temple again to show God his appreciation and sacrifice showing his thankfullness. I believe the great fish probably spit him out on the shores of Israel, and Jonah would have visited the Temple on the way to Niniveh. We don't get this detail, so this is only my speculation, but the fish certainly would have transported him completely across the mediterranean, likely a 3 day journey. A rough measurement on google earth puts it at just over 2000 miles using a more direct route.
In conclusion, Jonah died and was resurrected, the same as Yeshua died and resurrected. The only difference is that Jonah was raised back in his old sinful body, and Yeshua was raised in a new glorified body as the First Fruits of THE resurrection to eternal life!
