Bought a 99 Ford ranger with 360,000 miles on it. What should I watch out for?
Hey folks. Got a Ford ranger with 362,000 miles on it last week. It has been pretty meticulously cared for with a lot of the parts replaced (second photo is one of the lists of repairs/maintenance over the last few years).
Obviously it's been pretty well taken care of to get it to almost 400,000 miles, so I'm hoping I can keep it going a while longer.
I'm working to get more details on whats been changed out over the years.
What should I keep in mind for maintenance moving forward? I don't know much about cars so not sure what to look out for aside from oil changes, brake pads, etc.

Retro Gaming 10’s- Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- : (2014)

When we think of popular games that fans out towards the early part of the 10’s decade one few titles that instantly comes to mind is Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- from 2014. This game was developed by Arc System Works and considered to be the first major installment that the series had seen since Guilty Gear 2: Overture which was released between late 2007-late 2009 for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- was arguably one of the most popular fighting games of 2014 and ever since its release has been praised for various features including its cel-shaded graphics along with its gameplay. In fact, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- might have been the first game within the series to utilize the Unreal Engine 3 similar to titles such as Mortal Kombat IX from 2011. Similar to various fighting titles that we have seen throughout the 10’s decade Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- featured both online and offline game modes to keep players busy for many hours. When it comes down to offline gameplay there modes single player modes such as Battle and Story; there was also two-player Versus mode in addition to a Training mode which helped players get better at the game itself.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- also featured an online multiplayer gameplay in Network Mode which was something a lot people enjoyed when the PlayStation port of the game was released in December 2014. Since initial arcade release back in February 2014 there have been different updated versions of Guilty Gear Xrd related between the 2015-2017 time period. We got to see Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator for Arcade, PS3, PS4 and Microsoft Windows between Summer 2015-Winter 2016. After the second version of the game we got see Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator 2 which saw an arcade release in addition to appearing on the PS3 & PS4. Even though, the Guilty Gear series has been around since ’98 there are many people who would argue that Guilty Gear Xrd was the best installment that Arc System Works has ever made. As it currently stands a brand new installment entitled Guilty Gear Strive is expected to appear on multiple game systems sometime in 2020. While Guilty Gear Strive looks very promising its hard to tell whether or not it will be better than any of the Guilty Gear Xrd games from 2014-2017.

I thought it could be fun and helpful to create some cipher-breaking exercises for those of you who frequent these puzzle subs and are itching to test your cryptanalytic skills. You're free to solve the ciphers below in whatever way you want, but I've provided some guidelines and recommendations for how to go about each one in order to maximize the learning/practice potential. If you'd like more information on any method used to break these ciphers, ask in the comments and I or someone else will try to help you. I've solved all of them from scratch myself in order to determine their difficulty level (generally easiesimpler to hardemore complex, going from top to bottom) and to make sure they're error-free. All the plaintexts are written in English.
Post the revealed plaintexts to any or all of these cryptograms that interest you in the comments below (behind spoiler tags) and, if you want, briefly describe any insights you had and/or the methods you used to break or decrypt each cipher. There's no competition here; this is just an opportunity to learn, practice, and share ideas.
Have fun!

Transposition:
1.) Approach: By hand Type (big spoiler): Directional Recommended Method (big spoiler): Look at the cipher from right to left
2.) Approach: By hand Type (big spoiler): Anagrams Recommended Method (big spoiler): Take one segment at a time and try to make new words with the letters
3.) Approach: By hand Type: Not sure what it's called, but it involves recognizing and comparing distinct groups Recommended Method (big spoiler): Bounce from one group to the other
4.) Approach: By hand Type: Columnar transposition without a keyword Recommended Method: Arrange-and-read method, by experimenting with the divisors of the ciphertext length
5.) Approach: Using computer assistance Type: Double columnar transposition with keywords Recommended Method: Software capable of dictionary attacks and/or hill climbing

Substitution:
1.) Approach: By hand Type: Monoalphabetic, Caesar, aristocrat Recommended Method (big spoiler): Shift the letter positions one at a time
2.) Approach: By hand (a manual solving assistant is okay) Type: Monoalphabetic, arbitrary alphabet replacement key, aristocrat Recommended Method: Frequency analysis, word guessing, and di- and tri-graph guessing
3.) Approach: By hand (a manual solving assistant is okay) Type: Monoalphabetic, arbitrary alphabet replacement key, patristocrat Recommended Method: Frequency analysis, word guessing, di- and tri-graph guessing
4.) Approach: By hand, at least having solved the first ten words, then feel free to use computer assistance to automate the rest Type: Polyalphabetic, Vigenere (standard) with spaces and punctuation Recommended Method: Word guessing to reverse engineer the keyword, then decryption with a Vigenere table
5.) Approach: By hand, at least having solved the first ten words, then feel free to use computer assistance to automate the rest Type: Polyalphabetic, Vigenere (standard) without spaces and punctuation Recommended Method: Kasiski analysis to determine the keyword length, followed by multi-frequency analysis on each Caesar cipher to determine the keyword, followed by decryption with a Vigenere table

Miscellaneous:
1.) Approach: By hand Type: Transmission alphabet, Morse code Recommended Method: Consulting a Morse code table
2.) Approach: By hand Type: Homophonic substitution, book Recommended Method (big spoiler): Counting the words and letters in the text
3.) Approach: By hand Type: Steganography with substitution, Baconian Recommended Method (big spoiler): Representing the two typefaces as five-bit binary and converting that to A0Z25 in the context of a 24-letter alphabet (I=J and U=V)
4.) Approach: However you want Type: Digraph substitution, Playfair with a keyword Recommended Method: Having paid attention to a previous cipher, reverse engineering the matrix by word guessing, or using software capable of dictionary attacks and/or hill climbing
5.) Approach: Using computer assistance Type: Mechanical polyalphabetic, Enigma M3 (UKW B, III II I, FPW, AAA, BQ CV DI EJ KW MT NY PX UZ GH) Recommended Method: Simply plugging in the right information for easy decryption, or using software capable of hill climbing and/or Turing-style crib attacks

2024.05.31 06:51 Adorable_General6824 Ideas for old adventurers in the valley

In my CoS, there are old adventurers still alive (or something like that) kicking it in the valley. And I'd love to hear ideas from you.
There's an old human fighter called Emil, who lives in a small campsite north of the village or Barovia hiding from Strahd because he refuses to give him the pleasure of killing him. I used him as an introduction to the cyclical nature of "pathfinders" (or adventurers) appearing in the valley. He came in two parties ago.
An even older one is a death knight. An adventurer who was turned into this dark figure, but didn't allow the darkness to take his soul. He also hides from Strahd by marching among a horde of the dead through the svalich woods, where strahds spies won't distinguish a skeleton from the rest of the dead, even tho he still has his armor, sword, and collects blue winter flowers.
From the last party, Settner Sourwine, a brawler hagspawm, became the leader of a kind of gang-guild of lumberjacks and carpenters who handle the underworld market of Vallaki and are currently fighting against a gang of jesters and buffoons.
Also from that one, Nduandu, a loxodon monk, lives in the temple in Vallaki and serves as a blacksmith. His party actually once caught a hag after defeating her, and forged a knife out of a metal collar she used around her neck. The knife actually holds part of the hag's soul and it's cursed. But it's an amazing resource.
I stopped playing with that group because the friend who brought me into it died 2 years ago, almost to the day. His character was Bur Bujah (Bu Bleh xD), a Triton fire shaman. He died facing Strahd, but there's a shrine dedicated to him at lake Baratok.
And finally there's an albino kenku who was brought in three parties ago by Ethel, an awful night hag who plans to use pathfinders to get rid of her obstacles in Barovia, and to turn it into a soul larva field. He's a warlock-rogue who managed to break away from her control, and stole something from the old auntie.
Let me hear your ideas!
