2024.05.23 11:54 PinkSnowBirdie [Question] Preferred vs Premium Trims...

I'm a bit torn, I really want the Bose system and the Sunroof... Non-turbo because being price conscious lol
I'm kind of in a bit of a predicament though, my current car a bonafide beater but trusty dusty one is a 2007 Trailblazer. It is a base model so it doesn't have any feature those really offered, beyond some of the basic ones you'd expect for 2007, or at least very much hope would've been standard in 2007 (such as cruise control, a jab unrelated to Mazda, it's directed at another automaker, an American automaker.). However, that trusty dusty beater seems like it may be ready to be put out of its misery. So I'm having to push my purchasing timeline up by a couple months.
My place of employment gives me discounts for Mazda's, but I'm kind of hoping that I can get the dealer's sale price plus my discount, that'd really help me swing into the higher end one.
But what's your guys' take on it? Is it really that much more worth it to go to the effort of trying for that at least?
I can live without a sunroof. I don't really need one, as nice as it would be. I also don't need the better audio, again as nice as it would be. I don't know if having external financing really sweetens the pot or not, because I'm basically like a cash customer at that point. Which for the dealership is probably a mixed bag. I dunno.
Though there's about $600 in accessories I want. (auto dimming mirror, all weather floormats and maybe even all weather cargo mats. The mats are like $300 together and the mirror is $300), so perhaps that helps it a little bit further lol

2024.05.23 11:48 guiltyofnothing “You are obviously male and probably bald and do not understand the art that Hair is” Gratuitous insults over gratuities as /r/tipping debates ending tipping

The Context:

/tipping is a sub dedicated to “discussions about U.S. tipping traditions.” OOP makes a post asking how people can practically end tipping culture.
The sub appears fairly split in response, with a lively debate ensuing.

The Drama:

A fundamental question is asked:
You should get a tip because you had to do your job?
So also because I’m a Hairstylist, I don’t deserve a tip? We are paid accordingly to tipping. There are many restaurants that are paying people higher and charging more because they’re no longer accepting people tipping and that’s fine.
No, you don't deserve a tip for simply doing the job you were hired for. However, if your client feels like you provided excellent service then they have the option to tip you as they see fit. A tip is something you earn, not something you are entitled to.
Also believe me, even if you’re picking it up, I promise you having been a server in many of these situations we do deserve the tip we’ve put in a lot of labor behind the scenes and you guys never see it stocking all of the stuff that we put your food in and you think it’s we’re doing our job but they pay us because America doesn’t recognize minimum wage with tips we are paid lower because we are tipped
Complain to your employer or get a different job. That is not the customers problem. You know the role of the job you were applying for and how much the wage was when you were hired on.
[Continued:]
You are seriously delusional. I hope no one spits in your food.
See, I kinda hope someone does spit in his food, even though I know it's really extremely rare. I really do hope next time they order take out from a sit-down restaurant where they refuse to tip, they have a long ride home, getting stuck in traffic extra long, so the food is off temperature just long enough to still look, smell and taste fine, but have just enough bacteria to give them some terrible, but temporary, gastrointestinal distress. I think a day or 2 of intense cramping, explosive diarrhea, and projectile vomiting would be fitting karma.
That is a definite sign of professionalism.
[…]
You are obviously male and probably bald and do not understand the art that Hair is
One person has a simple solution:
If you're having control issues just don't out to eat.lol y'all wild.
Based on your level of grammar, I have to assume you are a server. No one else can survive being this clueless.
You lost me here, this was completely uncalled for.
You are a seriously arrogant prick.
Recently retired as a server. Made $40-60/hr. How 'bout you?
Based on your level of inconsideration, I have to assume you are a piece of shit
Based on your manners. You a bitch
Accusations of dishonesty are levied:
There's a social obligation to tip. And remember, if you plan on revisiting a restaurant where you stiff the servers, expect terrible service.
There is absolutely no obligation to do so, but if you are delusional enough to believe it, go ahead and keep tipping.
Because of the wack tipping culture in America, I rarely go out to eat, and when I do, it’s almost always a fine dining experience, where the servers deserve to be tipped for above and beyond service for good wine recommendations, a table we asked for, and willing to make me or my guests something off the menu for dietary needs/restrictions. Otherwise, I prefer to cook and eat at home.
I served for decades. Made $2.13/hr wage, $40-$60/hr tips. I wasn't referring to tip jars. Please don't add to the hate.
Ah… the $2.13 LIE.
When you lie about your wage we can not believe anything else you say.
What'd I lie about now?
[Continued:]
If you make less than the Federal Minimum Wage your employer is MANDATED BY FEDERAL LAW to pay you the difference. So you never walk home making $2.13 an hour.
It’s never the customers’ fault that you ASKED for that job.
In every restaurant I've ever worked, the second time you put in for wage compensation, you're fired. Stop making like you discovered something. That bullshit is not an option. You're just showing your ignorance.
You are still to be paid minimum wage as dictated by Federal law.
You need to stand up for yourself. I don’t know the name for someone like that.
A server pushes back:
You tell the person serving you at the start of the meal that you don’t believe in tipping, because you are strong in your convictions and beliefs, and not a coward. As a server, I will take your order, bring your food and drink, and drop the check, and that’s absolutely it. I won’t refill your drinks, explain anything on the menu, modify your order, ask if you want anything else, bus your table, or speak to you in any manner. Sound good?
Just toss a few coins on the table so she knows you didn’t forget.
Again, I expect cowardice moves from cowards. Big flex, Big Guy.
38 cents - buy yourself something nice. 😘
Least I don’t have to work constantly like you do to passively aggressively show my dominance. LMAO
[Continued:]
“Work” 😂LMFAO🤣
I guess when a person fetches food they think making sure the coins land next to the dirty plates instead of the floor is “work.” 😂💸💸
Exactly, I work 25 hrs a week, it’s nice. Lots more to do in life. Like go to the beach and travel. But let me tell you, I’ll be super sad at the beach thinking about how you dominated me with that coin comment. Gee whiz, hope I can get through the day off.
“Work” 😂🤣
The beach sucks. Please spend every minute you can in the sun.
If I wasn’t in your head you would stop replying. 🤣
Back at you. And I’m too pale to be in the direct sun.
[…]
I won’t refill your drinks, explain anything on the menu, modify your order, ask if you want anything else, bus your table, or speak to you in any manner
It's funny that you think I care. I tip you out of pity. Not because you are providing a great service I can't live without. You are worthless. Try to remember that the next time you demand tips.
Honestly, it would be so much easier if all servers are shitheads like you. If I knew you are my server, I would never tip a single penny. Unfortunately, there are a few nice servers.
It’s funny you think I care what you think. Oh no, own_solution7820 pities me. Whatever will I do!
Wow, what a brilliant comeback. I misjudged you. You might actually be as smart as a 4 year old.
One user is called out and things get personal:
Raven is acting like it’s their restaurant bc someone isn’t tipping them. I was a server for over a decade. You win and lose some. I usually won bc I was outstanding and my service indirectly demanded compensation. If I don’t receive it, upset yes but this entitled attitude like you own the joint is part of the problem. Yes you are going to go over the menu, and yes you will answer simple questions. At the end maybe you get a tip. It’s how the business model works.
LOL. You obvi didn’t read well bc I get maybe 5 non tippers a calendar year, work 25 hours a week, and travel often. My tip average is 19%. All I said was have the balls to admit your stance from the beginning, but of course, y’all don’t have the backbone for that. Just keyboard warriors!
Your BF broke up with you for a reason it seems.
You’re an example of a keyboard warrior. I read it all. I’ve served and have my opinion. Made the point to that you think you own the place. And you contradict yourself by saying it doesn’t matter yet give a scenario where you give them no service. It’s not your choice that’s what you’re missing. You’re a replaceable employee not the owner. We all are replaceable at our jobs, you just seem entitled.
Yet still there making good money.
they’re not there. You’re the second server I’ve seen on Reddit today who has improper grammar yet expects to be paid like a professional with a college degree. Wowza.
[Continued:]
Are you out of your mind? LMAO. I work THERE. Not I work THEY ARE. Dumb ass. Amazing.
Two users bicker, with one nuking their comments:
Tipping has gotten out of hand. I'm a stylist of almost 40 years, my clients do tip me because I always remember things about them and act on that. The guy that's a mechanic gets an extra neck massage during shampoo. The gal that just got done teaching a workout class gets a bottle of water that I pay for out of my own pocket. The list goes on for each client.
tip for me, not for thee. got it.
You don't get it. Those who go over and above deserve tips. Got it now?
Edit: when in doubt, delete your comment so it looks like the one who is describing you is actually saying what you said
Hard disagree. Good service is tionwoethy in many professions. By your logic a taxi driver or Uber driver who is quiet and gets you there efficiently gets no tip because they are doing their job. They don’t have repeat customers like you do when giving people a massage. Bartenders also who do their job and get me a drink. I don’t need them flirting or whatever above and beyond in your mind is for that job. Good service and tip. Yes I know you and many people would refuse to tip for those services which is your right
Where did you get flirting from, are you crazy?
You specifically said you don’t tip for doing a job. You said someone has to go above and beyond to get a tip to another person questioning your comments. Many bartenders do flirt for tips, if you don’t think that is true you are the crazy one ma’am. There are so many jobs that deserve a tip for doing their service. One doesn’t need to go above and beyond in these roles for a tip which you say is the only reason to tip and what they are designed for. Hence my comment that hard disagree with your original statement. I can do without any of that just do your job and it’s a tip
I absolutely did not say that i don't tip, I said it's getting out of hand. And if you think I'm a bartender, you're the crazy one, ma'am.
[Continued:]
Well since you deleted your comments that I cited I can’t show them back to you. But you said how tipping is out of control. As a hair stylist you will give people massages or get them a water / that is going above and beyond and tip worthy. No question it is. You also said doing basic service shouldn’t be tipped and tips are designed specifically for going above and beyond. My whole point is I hard disagree with you, take the taxi or Uber or bartender example - I tip for doing the job efficiently and don’t even try to go above and beyond that’s not what I want. Some will agree with you only to tip on exceptional (above and beyond service) and others may agree with me that tips are designed only for those going above and beyond and doing a service correctly can be tipped too
I did say tipping is out of control, I never denied that. I agree with you about the Uber, taxi thing that you've repeated a few times, for me it's the picking up a muffin at a counter and there's a tip jar, for what? That's what I'm referring to. You said I was a bartender, I'm not. Geez, I didn't know that I'd have to go in such full detail for you.
And I deleted those comments because I was sick of you taking it the wrong way not making myself clear enough for you and you putting words in my mouth. I never said I don't tip.
Well, my new pen pal, it's late and I no longer have the time to write. I hope you see this before I delete all of this, you are being negative and hell-bent on thinking I mean things that I don't. I sincerely hope that it's not because you had a bad day, tomorrow is always better. I really do mean that, all the best to you and good night.

2024.05.23 11:47 Fearless_Heat_579 AITA for not letting my father watch my graduation?

Hello! This is my first time doing this sort of thing, so I’m sorry if there’s some parts that are worded weirdly. Anyways, I (17F) is graduating from high school tomorrow, I have all my requirments and fees paid such as my tickets, diploma, and my cap/gown. I was really excited about this because this was a one time event for everyone. Now, they gave us five tickets, i knew who to invite so there wasn’t any problem, the school also said anyone can also live stream my graduation, I was excited and told my long distant friends and grandparents. That’s when my father comes in the story.
Before all of this, my father has been cheating on my mom ever since she was pregnant with me. I always thought he was the sweetest father, and defended him when my mom kicked him out. However, the reason she kicked him out wasn’t because he was cheating, he had sexually assaulted my aunt and blamed it on her because of what she was wearing. My mom had enough.
After kicking him out, my mother didn’t keep him away from me, as she saw how much I loved him, I was eight at this time, so she let me go to his apartment, spend the night with him, go to the park, etc. I was having the time of my life, until he moved away to another state and never contacted me again.
Several years go by, and i hadn’t heard anything from him, my mom gave him my number but he rarely contacts me. The only love he was giving me was buying me stuff on Amazon, I didn’t want to sound ungrateful, but my mom said he could put in more effort cause all he’s doing is gift-giving. He didn’t really make the time to call/text me for certain holidays either such as my birthday/christmas/thanksgiving. But acts offended when I don’t wish him a happy birthday???
I also found out he has another wife and two more kids, which make me feel hurt cause I was his first ever daughter and he treated them so well and did all the things I couldn’t do with him.
When I heard about my fathers actions from my mother, I was shocked, disgusted, and guilty, for defending such a man. But she said it was not my fault because I was young at the time. My mom also said she made several mistakes that took a toll on her life, but she grew to be a better person without him.
At first, I didn’t want to let my father go to my graduation because my aunt would be there as well, but my mom said that my aunt is a strong woman and he won’t have anything to say. I still objected into letting him come to my graduation and she respects my wishes.
Two days before my graduation, my father texted me that he won’t be at my graduation because he couldn’t, financially and that he wants the link to watch my graduation. I was mad on the other hand that he had all the time in the world to tell me if he was going or not, and two days before wasn’t it. But, I said yes, but he told me to “Please try” that made me feel angry. So I made a long message, talking about that it’s funny and sad how he wants me to try but he barley puts in the effort to love me himself, that this is embarrassing on his part and I don’t expect him to do better because this is not the first time he has done something like this, but I forgave him over and over again because he was my dad and I loved him. And that my own mother has to remind him to text me, and he “doesn’t want to bother me” which made me mad because I’m not a girlfriend or a fling, I’m his daughter and having to put in the effort to contact him even though that is not my job as a child. I also told him not to blame my mom for this either because I knew what kind of person he was.
After I sent that text, he told me he will leave me alone and that I put my mother on this pedestal. I was angry, not only because he wasn’t begging or at least trying after I sent that message. But because he likes to use the past to blames my moms actions and decisions to make his reasons valid when he can’t have anything to say in the present. I asked him why he was blaming her and that him leaving me alone feels like he was ready to let me go.
He told me he didn’t want to argue and that he’s asking to watch my graduation and that he’s getting shitted on. I told him that was real nice because I’m not a whole doormat to him anymore, he knew I would forgive him if he couldn’t keep his promises so he expected me to be okay with this now. But I’m not.
I told him he won’t be watching my graduation and he just told me good luck and congratulations. I feel hurt that he wasn’t trying or realizing that this wasn’t a game and that I had feelings too. But I couldn’t let myself be hurt over and over again. My mom told me that I’m valid for saying how I feel and being a doormat or a pushover is not a way to go through life. I was trying not to cry but my mom comforted me, and I’m grateful because I have a loving family to watch me achieve my dream and diploma.
But AITA??

2024.05.23 11:47 kronmatron Reflections of the Abyss

🎵Blown Minded- Young Galaxy
“…Oh, I was born blown minded With an eye on oblivion”
I was singing along while doing my hair in front of the mirror. My laptop was open, and I was watching one of Chris Cornell’s 2015 interviews. I didn’t really care what he was saying; it was just nice to watch him.
A silly thought crossed my mind. “If Choronzon had a form, and if that form was him, would I follow it into the abyss?” I started laughing to myself. “You would, you idiot. You wouldn’t just follow it; you’d jump right in…”
A great master once said, “Lovers are brave…” Maybe I needed a bit of love. But when I thought about physical love, it made me uneasy. The idea of a boyfriend was suffocating. The idea of a husband was like being buried alive. My life, once filled with tsunamis, had become a calm sea since Covid, and I wasn’t done enjoying it yet. I didn’t want action. Besides, even in this calm state, I had enough energy to create action wherever I went. As someone who found herself at the edge of the universe at night, killed demons as a side job, and was chased by the abyss in the morning, how much more action could I handle?
Was my life peaceful but flavorless? The best person to talk to about this was Sera. After all, she was a revolutionary mother trying to have her child without a man in her life. After I finished getting ready, I took my coffee and went out to the back balcony to call Sera. She was quite clear on this topic.
Sera: Girl… Men are just headaches, really…
M. Besant: Right? I mean, I think about what they can add to my life, and it’s nothing… Absolutely nothing!
Sera: After making my own child, they’re really unnecessary for me… I don’t know about you, but I’ve closed that file for good.
M. Besant: Absolutely, it’s just drama… If you have nothing better to do after 40, put up with their drama… No, I’ve closed that file too. It’s nice like this. Yes, maybe a bit flavorless, but my life is peaceful.
Sera: Peace is the most important thing. I think it's more important than happiness.
M. Besant: Exactly!
I relaxed and hung up the phone, then grabbed my bag and left. … After picking up Berrin and the twins with my car that seemed ready to break down any minute, we went to a place a bit far from the center with luxury restaurants and cafes. First, we sat in a cafe and had a coffee. We had a lot to catch up on. Then, since the girls were hungry, we changed places and sat in a gourmet burger joint. I wasn’t hungry, so I just ordered wine. After a glass of wine, I excused myself to go to the restroom.
Although the restroom was covered in pitch-black marble, the lighting prevented it from feeling claustrophobic. The only problem was that the black marble reminded me of the void of space.
I felt a bit uneasy while washing my hands. Sometimes, I don’t pay much attention to my surroundings. That’s probably why I hadn’t noticed I was standing between two parallel mirrors... After washing my hands, I looked up and noticed my infinite reflection in the mirror. At that moment, it felt as if time had stopped for me. I found myself trying to reach the deepest reflection, where it ended, and for some reason, I felt like I could see Choronzon there.
🎵Lost in Space - Audio Decor Sound Effects
“…draw near, let me behold thy face O, angel of decay, delight in entropy”
I started murmuring my own poem like a prayer. I was sure he was there, hiding. If I could see him, I could determine where the last reflection was. The place of the last reflection was where the illusion ended, in other words, the exit. That’s why I had to see him.
“O demon of void, unfurl your wings…”
An irresistible urge rose inside me to draw the seal on the mirror with my lipstick. There was nothing to fear. We would eventually go there, why postpone it? To that abyss where all sorrows are thrown, to the depth of that fear of loneliness, to that point of nothingness, I would go, kill Choronzon, and reach the infinite light, God, and end this; or I would continue like everyone else, die and be reborn again and again. What was the point? While I was focused on that blurry point where the reflections faded away, my hand went to my bag, my fingers eagerly searching for my lipstick... Then the sound of the door snapped me out of a trance-like state.
A girl talking loudly on her phone and a friend entered. At first, I was angry that they had woken me up, then I felt grateful.
I looked at myself in the mirror again. “You’re a 160 cm tall girl. How many meters do you think you are to pass through the place that masters who have devoted years to purification, prayer, worship, meditation, and yoga have passed? Didn’t you have panic attacks in 2009? Didn’t you experience insomnia? Then 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020! Didn’t you lose in all of them?... This is a trap, there’s no exit there! You can’t even stand the smell of it without tranquilizers, idiot…” I muttered to myself, washed my face, collected myself, and went outside.

2024.05.23 11:43 HellishCorpse iPhone 15 Pro Charging Problems

I’ve mostly enjoyed the iPhone 15 pro since it came out but one thing it has struggled with is charging problems.
The first time anything weird happened was about 3 months ago when, in the middle of the night, it decided to go completely black even though the phone was technically on and lock sounds/phone vibration could be heard/felt. This was apparently related to a software glitch that could occur when the phone was being charged. Others online were having the same problem and I legit had to memorize where the screen prompts were and blindly press the screen! After a reset it fixed itself and since the update that followed that hasn’t happened again.
Now in the past month or so I’ve had to “clean” out the charging port since it has randomly stopped charging in the middle of the night. I put air quotes around clean because the first time it happened I found the tiniest bit of dust/lint and it was so minor I assumed that wouldn’t help but it was somehow the culprit. The confusing part was that it was charging without flaw when initially plugged in so how did the phone decide that tiny bit of lint was suddenly too much? Did it change its mind overnight? Either way it did it again last night and I woke to a nearly dead phone. Started to panic and figured “let me try cleaning it again”…found the most minuscule amount of dust particles so I figured that couldn’t be it but voila it works fine now.
My point to make with this is that something seems to be funky with the newer charging port and my only theory is that it’s due to the switch to usb-c. Not only is the software having difficulties with it but the hardware itself seems to be flawed. I only ever had this much issue charging when I used android-based phones so it makes me think that removing the lightning port/cable was a poor choice and it worries me for the future of how iPhones are designed.
If anyone else could shine a light on this issue it’d be greatly appreciated because most people I know have not made the switch to the latest gen yet so I feel a bit alone in my problem.

2024.05.23 11:39 Tequil34 Best Golf GPS for a Watch. My Findings

My goal with a golf GPS was to have good shot tracking (which honestly was all of them I think) to learn my true distances as well as using my phone as little as possible. So the focus of my findings bellow focuses on the watch. If your happy to use your phone you might might be better of doing some testing yourself.
My requirements for the watch app:
NOTES:
Lets begin shall we
So that's what I found, Hole19 is the winner for me, A lot of the other apps also have many of the features that Hole19 has so this definitely isn't a comprehensive comparison list of everything each app can do as I tried to focus on a "what is does this App NOT do for me" type of testing approach and after settling on hole19 I added what else the app can do for the hell of it.
As far as I can tell the only thing Hole19 doesn't have is green height maps but I imagine they will add that as a feature at some point as it is still a "new" feature for golf GPS apps to my knowledge and it would never be a deal breaker in my opinion anyway as you can just look at the green...
Again... I haven't tested these on the course yet, I will add edit's after I've used Hole19 and SmartCaddie on the course.
Hope this come in handy to anyone else looking around as I didn't find other comparisons like this
:)

2024.05.23 11:37 vengeance481 [REQUEST][STEAM] Batman Arkham Collection (85% off) [2nd Attempt]

I've been a fan of Batman ever since I saw him on the big screen in Batman v Superman back when I was 7. Now I'm 16 and im still a huge fan of him. He's my favourite superhero, so when I found out there were Batman games, I knew I HAD to check them out. So I researched a bit about them, and I was awestruck by how epic the games were. Lemme tell you why exactly I want to play the Batman Arkham games and why theyre so cool -
  1. The Gritty Vibe
Arkham Asylum, City and Knight all have amazing map design. It encapsulates the vibe of the location and nails it perfectly. Gotham City is a concrete jungle where crime festers like week-old pizza. Rain-soaked streets, flickering neon signs, and shadows that swallow you whole—it’s the perfect backdrop for a brooding vigilante. Arkham nails that vibe, and I’m all about it. It perfectly encapsulates what Gotham is and I can't wait to explore it.
  1. Suit Up as the Dark Knight
Imagine gliding across rooftops, cape billowing, and grappling up skyscrapers. And the gadgets? Oh, baby. Batarangs for days, Batclaw for those hard-to-reach ledges, and the Batmobile—your personal rocket on wheels ( apparently the controls kinda suck tho)
  1. Rogues’ Gallery
Let’s talk villains. Joker, the cackling chaos agent. Two-Face, the coin-flipping enigma. Poison Ivy, green and gorgeous (but deadly). And Riddler—think Sudoku meets Saw. His riddles are like brain workouts with a side of danger. And theres so many other villains in his rougues gallery that must me put down.
  1. Detective Mode: Sherlock Wayne
Batman’s not just biceps and gadgets; he’s got brains too. Toggle “Detective Mode,” and suddenly everything lights up. Clues, hidden doors, and criminal records—it’s like having X-ray vision. Certainly reminds you of the detecitve part of Batman, after all, he is the worlds greatest detective.
  1. Boss Battles That Punch Harder Than Bane
The boss battles in this game are something to remember. Being chased by Croc in the sewers, or beating up Mr. Freeze, Arkham's got a plethora of epic boss fights.
In conclusion, I want to play Batman: Arkham Collection because of its amazing boss fights and side quests, its epic villains and of course, being the BATMAN. As you can see from my username, im a Batman fan myself, so I regret not trying out the game sooner. Sadly, I cant buy it myself because my parents wont let me .
Thanks for reading all of my ramblings, whether ur gifting it to me or not. Have a nice day :)

As a cat lover, I was instantly drawn to the Flower Shaped Cat Tree Happy & Polly. Standing tall at 50 inches, this tree is perfect for my large cats who love to climb, jump, and play. The multi-functional design allows them to rest, climb, and exercise according to their wishes. They love to lounge in the cozy flower-shaped cat beds and stretch their legs on the sturdy branches.
The high-quality material made of particle board covered with flannel is soft and comfortable for my cats, with the built-in iron pipe pillars providing a durable and stable structure. The spacious room and pumpkin-shaped design create a comfortable sleeping environment, and the built-in scratching pad ensures that my furniture stays scratch-free.
One downside I noticed is that it's pretty heavy, making it a bit difficult to move around. However, the installation process was straightforward, and it didn't take long before my cats were enjoying their new playground. Overall, this cat tower offers a fun, cozy, and durable space for my cats to unwind and play.

I recently had the pleasure of using the Skywin Modern Cat Tower, and I must say, it's a purr-fect playtime companion for my feline friends. The sleek, modern design not only enhanced the stylishness of my living space but also provided my cats with a comfortable and stimulating environment to play, scratch, and relax.
One of the standout features of this cat tower is the Sisal-branded cat scratch pad. Cats simply couldn't resist the natural textures and scratching capabilities of this material, and it seemed to keep them entertained for hours. The soft felt pads also provided a cozy and safe surface for them to take naps and curl up on.
While the Modern Cat Tower was easy to assemble and conveniently sits on the floor, I noticed that the sturdy design could be a bit of a challenge for some older cats to climb on. Additionally, the instructions for hand-washing the padding seemed a bit unusual, but I couldn't think of another way to keep the pads spotless.
All in all, the Skywin Modern Cat Tower serves as a stylish and functional addition to any cat lover's home. Its eye-catching design and diverse features make it a unique and enriching playtime experience for cats of all ages.

Recently, I had the pleasure of trying the Cat Craft 00350 climbing and perch cat tree. This versatile piece of furniture was perfect for my home, easily adjusting to the ceiling for added stability. The expandable rod made it easy to assemble, and the soft, plush fabric provided a cozy space for my furry friends to rest. The velcro sisal mat was an added bonus, encouraging them to scratch and play.
However, one downside was the cleaning process - the fabric needed to be hand-washed only. Despite this, the overall experience with the Cat Craft 00350 was a positive one, with my cats enjoying the different levels and perches available. The water-resistant frame added durability, and the inclusion of a scratching pad and claw post made this a well-rounded cat climbing and resting solution.

I recall using this 53-inch multi-level cat tree in my own home, and it definitely lived up to the hype! . The three floors provided my curious kitty plenty of space to climb and explore. I even noticed a distinct difference in her activity levels since having this playhouse.
The product is made of E1 grade particle board, which offers a stable and secure foundation for cats to rely on, and the sisal-covered scratching posts kept my kitten happy and content. The plush perch was soft and friendly, and the kitten showed great satisfaction with it. My only minor gripe was the need for more frequent cleaning, but overall, I would highly recommend this cat tree to any pet owner looking to provide their kitty an engaging and entertaining environment.

I just got this cat tree for my furry little buddy and I must say, it's a game-changer. The 61-inch solid wood design is not only visually appealing but also sturdy, ensuring my cat's safety while he plays.
The multiple tiers, condo, ladder, and hanging toys keep him active and entertained, and as a bonus, the natural sisal ropes are perfect for those scratching sessions. I appreciate how easy it was to assemble, with the included hardware and instructions.
Overall, I'm beyond happy with this purchase, and my cat seems to love it just as much.

PAWZ Road's Modern 5-Level Indoor Cat Tower has been a staple in my cat's life for months now. Not only does it come in a sleek, modern-looking design, but it also comes with a pendant that adds an extra touch of cuteness. The tower is made of a sturdy, durable wood material that has held up well over time.
The scratching texture on the tower is a game-changer for my kitty - it's perfect for her scratching needs. It's not too steep nor too low, so my cat feels secure while climbing. The top groove provides a cozy spot for her to nap and feel embraced, which she absolutely loves.
Despite the fact that it comes with pieces to assemble, I found it to be a breeze to put together. Plus, it saves space in my house and gives my cat a playful area to climb, nap, and investigate. It's a great alternative to large freestanding cat trees and scratching posts, and it seamlessly fits into my home's decor with its beige and white color.
Cleaning the tower is simple - I use a lint roller or give it a good scrub with some soap. Overall, my cat adores her PAWZ Road Tower, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

🔗Premium 76-Inch Cat Tower with Sisal Scratching Posts and Multi-Level Hammocks for All Life Stages

https://preview.redd.it/ldo47jwob52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81f608b6978ddae57a0cb01b645788d25529e7e7
As a reviewer, I found the MSmask Cat Tree 76 Inches to be a delightful addition to my indoor cat's playtime routine. It stands tall at 76 inches, offering ample space for my kitty to climb up and down and enjoy the various levels. The multi-layer design is perfect for multi-cat households or for those with a single furry friend who enjoys exploring different levels.
I particularly loved the large space at the top, where I placed the perches and the long condo. The cozy spots were a hit with my cat, who happily lounged at the highest point in the morning, basking in the warmth of the first rays of sunshine.
The three types of hammocks catered to different cat sizes and preferences, ensuring that my little one found her perfect spot to curl up. One of my favorite features was the sisal scratching posts, which kept my cat's claws in check and provided a natural way for her to maintain healthy nails.
With its sturdy and stable design, this cat tower not only kept my cat safe but also made it easy to assemble, providing a hassle-free experience for its users. The MSmask Cat Tree 76 Inches is a charming and functional addition to any cat lover's home, delivering on both style and practicality.

🔗Cute, Sturdy Wooden Cat Tree with Natural Branch and Comfy Perches

https://preview.redd.it/kbfskv8pb52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fe0187e51fe4c7fc30b734d6b640b4253ea0d39
The COZIWOW cat tree was the ultimate hideaway for my feline friends. Made of natural branch and chipboard, it was a beautiful and durable addition to our home. The soft velboa on each cat perch provided a cozy spot for them to lounge on. However, the stability of the tree left something to be desired. Despite the assembly being straightforward, the product wasn't as solid as I would have hoped.
One of my cats enjoyed playing with the scratching balls at the base of the tree, and the different layers of perches allowed for flexibility in their climbing. The design was attractive, but the craftsmanship wasn't of the highest quality, as I ended up having to find a larger bolt to secure the broken piece.
Although the tree could be wobbly at times, my cats liked using it and it was a fun addition to our living room. However, I would recommend this product for smaller cats rather than large ones to ensure stability. Overall, the COZIWOW cat tree offered a unique and attractive spot for my cats to play and relax, but it wasn't perfect for every situation.

🔗Versatile and Safe Lulu Cat Tower

As a reviewer who's been using the Naomi Home Lulu Cat Tower, let me tell you that this towering feline haven is a true five-star wonder. With two generously sized levels, it's a haven for large kitties to stretch, climb, and perch in comfort.
The house-cats of the world will appreciate the thoughtful design; not only does the rugged household-grade carpet create a cozy resting spot, but the oil-less sisal rope ensures their nails stay sharp and healthy. And, let's not forget the scratching post - a vital necessity for any feline friend.
There's no need to fret about assembly either. As one reviewer attested, it's a breeze to put together. However, there's a catch - while the tower can hold over 50 pounds, the top perch might not accommodate larger cats. But this minor drawback doesn't even come close to detracting from the overall satisfaction of the product. Its visual appeal, craftsmanship, and easy assembly all come together to make the Naomi Home Lulu Cat Tower a top choice for large-cat lovers everywhere.

For the past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of introducing our indoor cat to the Monibloom Cat Tree. As a busy family, we've always struggled to keep our feline friend entertained, especially when it comes to playtime. This cat tree has been a game-changer!
I was initially drawn to its multi-level design. My cat seems to enjoy having a variety of platforms to explore, lounge, and even nap on. The cat condos are a huge hit, too. It provides a bit of privacy and a comfortable spot for our cat to retreat to, especially during the hustle and bustle of the day. She even enjoys scratching on the sisal rope posts - it's been more entertaining than I expected!
What truly impresses me is the sturdy construction. Despite daily playtime, the Monibloom Cat Tree remains stable and secure, offering our cat a dependable structure to play without any worries about tipping over. The soft, plush fabric also adds a touch of luxury, making it a comfortable place for our cat to rest and relax.
However, there is one area of improvement: the cat tree is a bit heavy for easy relocation. Other than that, we're thoroughly enjoying our new furry companion's playtime companion. The Monibloom Cat Tree is a must-have for any indoor cat owner looking to provide endless fun and entertainment.

Imagine walking into your living room and seeing a little kitty kingdom sitting pretty in the corner. This is no ordinary kingdom, but rather a cute little feline kingdom housed in a vibrant fish-nap colored cat tower. The first thing that caught my eye was its stylish design that complemented my home's décor, instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.
Once assembled, I was impressed by the sturdy structure that made it look stable, making my fuzzy friend feel safe and secure as they went about their playful business. The spacious platform provided a comfortable spot for my kitten to gaze far and wide, looking like a little king or queen surveying their territory from above.
The integrated sisal scratching post was a hit, providing a natural and safe way for my kitty to scratch away without harming my furniture. The faux fur used in the cat tower was exceptionally soft and comfortable, ensuring they had a cozy place to rest, sleep, and unwind.
If there was one downside, it would be the absence of detailed instructions included with the package. However, I managed to put it together with the help of some online guidance and tools included fortunately. Overall, this fish-nap colored cat tower is an excellent investment for any cat lover, providing a fun, safe, and comfortable space for their feline friends.

As a cat owner, I was drawn to the Cat Craft 00350 Unisex 4-Level Carpeted, Adjustable Floor to Ceiling Climbing & Perch Cat Tree for its sleek design and versatility. With an expandable rod that secures the tree to the ceiling for added stability, reaching a height of 89.76 inches, it was a perfect fit for my living space.
The tree's features were the highlights of my experience, from the Velcro sisal mat that increased interest and allowed for scratching, to the soft, plush fabric that provided a cozy resting spot for my furry friend. The built-in scratching post and perch were a bonus, adding variety to the tree's design.
One thing that stood out was the easy-to-clean fabric, making it a hassle-free addition to my home. The easy-to-follow instructions and durable, furniture-style design were pluses for modern cat parents like myself.
However, the product's overall weight made assembly a bit challenging, but once set up, it provided a stable and safe climbing experience for my cat. The limited 60-day warranty was also a bit disappointing, but overall, the Cat Craft 00350 Unisex Cat Tree exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality and style.

The cat tower comes with complete instructions and tools, making it a breeze to assemble this little abode. My cat seems to love it, spending hours lounging around and even using the scratching posts.

2024.05.23 11:36 truecrisis I feel like there is so much misinformation about post-op Yeson on Reddit

I had my consult with Yeson yesterday, and my surgery today. I have my followup exam and botox tomorrow.
Now, I'm sure that Yeson has improved their communication skills and also their recommendations over the last 10 years of their practice, but so much information on Reddit is counter to what they have told me. Now, I'm aware a lot of this might be different from patient to patient. But at least for those of us with tremors, a lot of the info I found here was incorrect....

1) Botox

Yeah botox is used to prevent some speaking during recovery, but actually its PRIMARILY used to prevent vocal tremors. What are vocal tremors? Dr Kim put out his hand and showed a slight shake. He said, "When you have tremors, the only way the brain knows how to correct it, is to use A LOT of power." and he clenched his hand hard. So those of us with tremors and get fatigued easily during male baseline everyday speaking or even training, are using WAY TOO MUCH POWER. And it causes, me at least, to over correct with too much power. When we overcorrect with too much power, our brain drops our pitch naturally because that is easier to produce the sound. This is how many (not all) people who train to a higher pitch without surgery are actively damaging their vocal chords.
How do we fix this overcorrection? Botox stops the tremors (like diazepam or something) and allows our brain to learn how to produce sound without needing to overcorrect. The MOST IMPORTANT THING is to SPEAK OFTEN while under the effects of botox. This will help the brain to adjust to a vocal fold that doesn't have tremors. This is why those of us with lifelong tremors need a second or third dose of botox, so that we can produce nice clean sounds without the shaking-hand thing going on. If we are vocal-underdoers, like me, its doubly important to make sure to exercise our voice while under the effects of botox. Dr Kim said that in my case, the tremors were caused by scar tissue in the muscle on one side of my throat, that prevented that side from vibrating in sync with the opposite side. He made an incision on that side to release the tension and I should no longer have problems there.
Also, it is my personal belief that those of you who have had this surgery, and had subpar results will likely see benefit from another session of botox and also skype therapy sessions with Yeson. Please reach out to your coordinator!!

2) Post recovery strategy

Many people on here have said "Dont try to speak in a high pitched voice, just speak normally in your baseline voice." And this is contrary to the advice I was given by staff. They said to speak in my target voice, but still within a comfortable range. Like make sure to adjust for resonance, and try to train your brain to a "new normal." If we just target our baseline voice, our brain will try to use old phonetic patterns, and that is entirely against the purpose of the long rest period. The long rest period and botox is to assist us to learn new habits, and we need to start that right out of the gate. We need to learn to use the pitch that we want, without tremors and with a new vocal instrument. Its ALL to break away from old habits.

3) Voice starting low, or starting high then dropping over time

This is related to everything above. It IS NOT NECESSARILY ABOUT transvoicelessons.com voice training after being granted new vocal chords. Yes, those who haven't done any voice training at all and know nothing about resonance are going to have a bad time. But likewise, those who have trained really hard to have a passing voice then had this surgery are ALSO going to have a bad time because they have to unlearn everything they know about a nice voice. The goal here is to speak NATURALLY and not with over compensating power, and the only way to do that is lots of practice while not under the influence of tremors. After this surgery the goal is to reprogram the brain and get away from all the old habits we learned, because if we do that, we achieve natural feminization. If we continue to fight the tremors and continue to over-correct, our voice will inevitably drop back to the pre-op sounds we were making.
Dr Kim said, for best results, it's critical for 2 months of silence, and while 1 or two words are ok, really do not speak even after the first month.
Dr Kim also said, it's generally going to start low, but then if one follows post-op instructions properly, it will exponentially get better as the brain adapts and moves away from old phonetic patterns.
I'll update this post with anything I remember, and any other information I'm told. But I hope this is useful for those searching for threads related to "Yeson" in the future.

2024.05.23 11:33 Thick-Local-1514 Aita for resenting my brother?

Sorry this is the first time I'm posting on Reddit. Long back story.
I have 4 brothers, but the oldest (M30) and I (F22) have never had a full friendly conversation or have gotten to know each other. I'm #4 and the youngest is the surprise child, being born 8 years after me.
I was the child my mother wanted (a girl) but, the opposite of what my parents were expecting. I grew up around guys and never cared about makeup unless I was at dance recitals. I grew up in sweatshirts and jeans.
Growing up my brother's thought I was the child who got everything, but when I was 12 I was working only one day a week for a family friend, which I still work there today.
I was the one offering people to go to the movies with me and I would pay even when my mom told me not to. When I was sixteen I was working 2 jobs in the summer trying to get a hefty savings.
When I was in elementary school my mom would say comments like, "if you wear makeup you would look prettier," or "don't eat like the boys,' or "boys like skinny girls," to me. When I hit 4th grade I start wearing sweatshirts and jeans to cover my insecurities.
When I was 14 my oldest brother got married, which my SIL asked me to be a bridesmaid, I accepted, but didn't know what it meant or know why should've been in involved. I was never included because I was young and remember one time being at someone's house and the adults talking about the wedding and I was staring off into the distance pleasing my mom.
When I was just turned 16 (I was born late summer) I had just gotten my license and my 2nd oldest brother was getting married to my (2nd) SIL. It was two weeks of vacation. One week for the wedding and then one week in Florida. I was hating it because I liked spending time at home. But I was out of state the whole time. My 2SIL said my skin tone was good and I didn't need makeup except mascara. I told my mom this and she said okay, but in front of everyone getting ready my mom was going at me about putting some lipstick on which would of made my mouth look non existent.
I kept telling my mom. I didn't need it and 2SIL said I'm fine the way I looked. My mom kept going and I blew up. I (I'm going to regret this) said, " no, mom SIL said I didn't need it, why are we even here she doesn't have a family anyways." Now at the time, I blacked out in anger and when I visit my 2SIL out of state when I was 19 turning 20 she told me she thought I hated her and when I asked her why she said the following and I apologized profusely especially when I didn't remember the part of the day. (I had very bad anger issues that my 2SIL and I only knew at the time. And had to work out on my own because of a separate story but we very good now)
We are very close so I don't even know why I had to say that, but I was a teenager. I didn't have stability. A journal was the only this is could give my thoughts to at the time.
Nobody cared to say this to me, but then it came obvious I was the blacksheep. I learned everything that was happening with my family, when it came to someone dying or when something bad was happening anger was told to me from my 2SIL who lived half way across the country.
When my brother comes in.... It start when I was 14. I came (middle school) after school and all my older brothers were around the table with my mom. I then say, "Why such sad faces?" In a funny tone. Everyone tells me to STFU. I then laugh and say rough crowd and start walking up the stairs where it's silent again and I ask my mom if she will buy soda for a party happening that weekend and everyone flips out on me. I then said don't be mean and I work up stairs. My mom then called me down angry with me. When I then argue with my mom I just asked about soda then I end up face to face with my college ( oldest) brother. He calls me a piece of (sh!t) and a fat cow while pushing me against the kitchen counter. I was yelling my mom to get him off of me, but she didn't so I screamed at him and ran upstairs to call my friend. My mom is trying to bust my door in and when my friend said her mom are coming I hold my phone up (taller than my mom) and run outside where my mom threatens to call the cops on me if I leave.
I walk inside afterwards to my oldest brother crying and apologizing. I say okay, but dont feel anything. (Btw at the time my dad was on a work trip) I was then grounded (for what? I don't know, still to this day) didn't talk to my mom for a whole year. Until she said "I think you hate me" closest thing I had to a mother was my 2SIL or my neighbors mother who was worried even if I got thinner. God bless her.
I got older barely speaking to my oldest brother or my mother and didn't get semi close till I got pregnant. I was 20 at the time and had to find my future by myself. I transferred to the school I wanted to because my parents pressured me into going somewhere else and found my calling.
My mom, tried to be, A mother at the time, but the only person I would open up to is my boyfriend. My brother still never talked to me. Especially after the situation....
Over a CRIB.
I didn't have a baby shower because of parents on Both sides so I was buying things myself. I made minimum wage at the time. I was looking for a baby crib on Facebook. When I told my mom that she said I shouldn't look there because I would want something that would last then offered to buy one.
I said okay if it was stained wooden. No whites or blues or pinks. I told the same thing to my dad and he said okay. That was a Thursday.
Sunday comes around I get a text from my mom saying I found a crib and I said we will be out there anyways so we will come over.
Well we get there and she shows me a Facebook ad of a white crib I look at my mom in astonishment. Baffled what she had shown me. I pointed out Facebook and the white crib (btw I moved out when I was newly 20 I wasn't pregnant in their house) my dad and boyfriend made a joke about the white crib and me knowing my anger level told my mom I'm done with the conversation.
My mom was persisting then my dad joined in after I kept telling them Im done with the conversation. When my mom looks at me (6 to 7 months pregnant) saying, "I guess you dont want a crib then." So I said, "I guess I'll buy my f**king own then." And she walked upstairs.
My dad tried to tell me not to talk to.her that way so I told him, "who tells A pregnant woman I guess you.dont want a crib then?" He couldn't say anything.
The next day is where my oldest brother and I hit heads.
I get a call from him (I never receive calls from him). Btw this man is almost 30. It's a 10 second phone call of him yelling and cussing at me about how I shouldn't talk to our lawyer there that way when I said hold on to grasp what he's talking about he said no then hung up.
So I went to the source of the problem and called my mother. Asked her what she said. She said that she didn't tell anybody anything and I said that was funny as I got the phone call from my oldest brother. She couldn't deny it at that point and wasn't giving me the whole truth.
She hung up the call to speak to my brother and I called 2SIL. She then tells me THEY BOUGHT THE CRIB.
FYI I never saw a physical crib. Where the story is being f*cked. I guess my mom said I was a spoiled brat even though she didn't even buy me my own bedsheets.
In the middle of talking with 2SIL I get a texted from my oldest brother uninviting me from my nephews birthday party....
Ummm I haven't said anything to him at this point so I texted my mom asking he what happened and she said she didn't want to argue with him anymore...
He never apologized and it's been 2 years all he had texted me was "I take back what I said" and a midnight text inviting me to his new house with all our family being there (recently)..... I guess he didn't want me to show up even when we did show up late.... So ATIA for resenting him? Or was I just childish

2024.05.23 11:32 blobkat I want to detect a fast-moving tennis ball (60mph) when it goes through a 10" hole in plywood. I want to create a photogate with an array of phototransistors, but I'm not sure what the best way is to go about it.

So the arrays I want to make are 10 infrared LEDs, each spaced 1" apart, and on the other side 10 IR phototransistors spaced 1" apart.
I want to make a circuit where each phototransistor gets the current converted to a voltage with an op-amp (transimpedance amplifier) and then those voltages are summed with a summing op-amp.
Let's say that each phototransistor contributes 0.5V to the circuit so the range would nicely be from 0 to 5V. This can then be read out by a fast ADC.
When a tennis ball would go through, some of the light that falls on the phototransistors gets occluded and so this would cause a (probably small, but reproducable) voltage drop. I could put a kind of threshold value in code to find out when this drop happens.
I feel like I'm going to need an awful lot of components to make this happen. Does my logic make sense or am I making this too complicated?

2024.05.23 11:31 clolaz People from past stalking me and turning people against me

I know I’m not interesting or important enough for people to conspire against me but perhaps people collectively hate me enough to warn others about me and to spread the message to all who I am in contact with.
These people for sure hate me, this guy I used to work with (M) continued to ignore my messages and bursted out in anger at me after I refused to sleep with him, but we stayed friends on social media, he’s also friends with my other good work friend K. K invited me to go quadding at christmas and at the last minute K says that this guy will be there so I told him “I’m sorry I can’t make it, you guys enjoy I’ll go with you another time” This guy isn’t working at my job anymore but I wanted to mend the bad blood to keep things civil, so I tried texting M a bunch of times but he would just read the messages, so I unfriend him. Then a few days later I’m sitting at my job and no one’s there and the place is all closed up lights off and these two cars pull up and I think nothing of it but they go to the back, then I see them peeking thru the front window and they saw me and I go outside and say hey to M and his friend and M puts his hand on other dudes shoulder and is like “oh this is my friend D he’s going to be working here” etc etc and M was fake nice to me asking about my family and pet etc and I say bye. It was awkward.
I have had this one crazy old woman (S) I work with whisper in my ear “I want to strangle you” and walks into my office pulls a knife out towards me as an intimidating tactic and says “oh the handle on this is broken, should we keep it in the back?” And her grandson named G has tried to get with me, but I just wanted to be friends. He’s an idiot who everytime we hang out or talk he tells people about it and brags that we are really close, but I’ve been paranoid and he gave me a camera detector so I can scan my house and he said he got it from a paranoid person who’s a crackhead and he told me that day that he’s worked for “secret societies” as a way to sound cool to me and I got scared and my back got up because I found out he sells drugs and he talks to bad people. He started acting weird though, like nothing was wrong and I kept ignoring his texts but he still texts me like we are great friends and doesn’t even ask me why I’m not texting him back or what’s wrong, just sending me paragraphs about his problems like he’s talking to himself. Another person who I believed was my friend (D) was at S’s house and G texts me that D was there and he said he felt that D was very fake and not trustworthy, and he asked if I agreed with him. I got angry and said to stop involving me in this shit I have my own problems and I don’t care about this drama, fuck off. It was odd that D went to S’s house cause I know they are “work friends” but 2 hours before I was at work telling D that S was being nasty to me. I don’t trust D, I can feel her vibes and how she studies my reactions and face. D is also Facebook friends with someone (V) from my past and another town over who over one year ago accused me of talking to her ex when I did because he somehow got my Snapchat and I was just making conversation but completely forgot who he was because I only remembered his first name, but this guy said that we were talking and that I was into him apparently to this ex friend of mine. A year ago I had to justify that nothing happened and prove nothing happened because I was scared she would say false shit about me and I felt hurt that she didnt trust me. She said she did in the end, but then like 6 months ago she texted me again accusing me of similar shit but this time I got angry at her. I live like 5 hours away, I’m in school, I’m trying to just get by, who the fuck am I to her anymore and why’s she accusing mee again? And then recently before I return to work I see she’s friends with D on Facebook and I’m like hmmm. I wonder why they’re friends? And I felt cold fake vibes from D from the beginning so I ask D how she knows V and blah blah blah I forget but I say “what has she said about me” and D denies it at first but then partially admits that V said something about me talking to this guy. And I get fucking angry because V is like hours away from here and I haven’t seen her in 5 years, why the fuck would she be telling D false shit about me when i just met D a year ago and we aren’t close? Just in general it feels like at work all the blame is put on me and that there’s a conception that for some reason everyone assumes im the one responsible for things I have no control over. Im the same age as these people but im technically the manager who doesn’t have the actual authority as manager but does more work for more money. These people only seem to be salty to me, not older people with similar roles to me. Anyways these people make backhanded comments like “I don’t know how you do it, it’s so boring doing this” just to hurt me. I’d like my job if people were nice to me, and S is like 67 and I’m above her but she always says “okay BOSS” as a mocking thing, when I try to make things easy for her and I just do my job and I’m easy going and always considerate and I’ve bought her creamer for work done shit for her and she doesn’t even say thank you she said “the creamer you bought is running out” so what the fuck do you want me to do? Do you want a young girl with student loans to pay for your creamer again? Or give you another ride just because your old and didn’t pay into your pension? She doesn’t ask anyone else but me for these favours and I’m the only one who gets to see her nasty side and only one who’s her personal punching bag. Also, all these people even if they’re not close to me will have the nerve to say shit about my mom to my face “I’m scared of your mom” “your moms so intimidating” “your moms a dry drunk” and then act like my friend. And I’ve let them do this. Other than that, well there’s a lot more but it’s 3am, so I’ll keep it brief, other than that I see on my people you may know is all the people who have absolutely despised me over the last 9 years that I have wronged in some way or we had different views on things and different personalities (it happened 5 years ago, I was going through shit that people go though so I was hot and cold with answering their texts and didn’t think before I spoke, I was always nice tho. they were all snotty anyways, but yeah once they started hating me it seemed that everyone started to hate me or pretend to be my friend but I’ve been bullied since I can remember so I wasn’t exactly well liked) but yeah these people are constantly on my people you may know and shit and it weirds me the fuck out. So that is all the real shit that has happened.
Now this is the paranoid thoughts I’m having: I’m paranoid that they’re all saying shit against me, like the ones from the past are either messaging current people I know, warning them about me and telling them to continue to slyly snub me when I have my back turned, and to continue to spread the word and eliminate all positive opportunities in my life until I give up and pull the trigger on my plans. I just think it’s really a damn shame they would do that. I’ve told these people I only have one person who I fucking love and who I need to provide for and make sure they’re okay, and they know I don’t have things easy. They know I need to be strong for my mom and they still find ways to hurt me, they still act like fake ass bitches to my face and they know I know they do it and that’s what hurts more. Because they try to personally make me feel alone in this world. But how could they know shit about my life? They know about my problems, why do they only know about my problems and not the good? Why am I still nice to these people and after one good day of treating me right I start to give them the benefit of the doubt but as soon as I do and let my guard down they immediately initiate some other tactic to psychologically hurt me and tear down my boundaries and and I tell them more about my issues and how alone I feel with it and how much the overthinking affects my ability to enjoy life.
I constantly live my life in fear. I wonder what made them hate me so much, I just pray that’s it’s all a coincidence and they don’t give a shit but it just feels off. I get bad gut feelings about it. I start to get angry. I want to install cameras in my house. I always feel watched at home. I go outside and threaten whoever is out there. Every bump in the night I believe is someone waiting for me to fall asleep. I am scared they know my Reddit. I talk to no one. The ones I trust I trust but I try not to bother them with my shit because I know it’ll drive them away and call me crazy. I have isolated myself from everyone pretty much. I feel better and I sort of feel how irrational it is but this work stuff just happened this week and I have to see these people. Idk what to do. I try to search how to se how I come across to make myself less desirable target me try to joke around and show my vulnerabilities to try and prove myself as a human to these people but I know they see it’s fake and they still chose to hate me when I’ve only ever been nice to them and all I ever wanted was peace and not involving them in this shit. Not “let me chat you up to see how much information I can get from you that I can use against you.” Because that how I feel people feel about me. I’ve tried confronting them on there weird behaviour but im always left feeling like im the weird one that im the one who’s acting irrational. This S character gaslights me I say “I want you to stop making me out to be the villain after I’ve told you I don’t make the rules I just follow them so I don’t lose my job” and she does it in a sly way and she says “what did I say? Huh? See I didn’t say anything, you can tell whoever you want that I’m a bitch” I I say “I will if you keep playing these games and carrying this shit forward” and she’s like “you’re the one carrying things forward” and I say “I’m going to take my 15 minute break” I go outside and call my mom upset and trying to get her to talk me down and as I go outside she immediately goes outside through the front door and then when I walk back inside she goes right back in, and the boss was right in the office and they heard all of this shit but they just tell me “oh don’t take it personal, S did the same shit to me last year” oh but now S is nice as pie to the boss and the boss gave her a ride home because she got her car taken because she’s had 3 duis in the last two years and she was caught driving with a suspended license but they still keep her there. It’s so fucked.

I recently got my hands on the Cold Steel Recon Tanto and I must say, this knife has become my daily companion. The sturdy SK-5 carbon stainless steel blade has held up exceptionally well, even after years of usage. The black Tuff-Ex finish makes it look sleek and adds an extra layer of rust protection.
The handle made of Kray-Ex steel, with its distinctive black Tuff-Ex finish, is incredibly comfortable to hold and provides a great grip. The 4.75-inch long handle has the perfect size for everyday use. The Secure-Ex sheath it comes with is both practical and stylish, securely holding the knife in place during storage.
However, there is one feature that deserves mention - the knife's weight. At 9 ounces, it's not too heavy, but if you're planning on carrying it in your pocket all day, you might feel its presence more than you'd expect.
Overall, the Cold Steel Recon Tanto is a reliable and versatile blade that has proven itself in various situations. Its durability, sharpness, and the sleek design all contribute to its status as an essential tool for everyday use and unexpected emergencies.

🔗Top-Tier Performance and Utility Blade: Missile Strike Fixed-Blade Cross Knife in Coyote Tan

I've been using the Tops Knives Missile Strike for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say, it's been quite the companion. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and you can tell it's built to last. The Coyote Tan Blade has been a standout feature, as it adds a nice touch of style to the knife while also being practical for outdoor use.
One thing that really stands out is the performance and durability of this knife. It's been put to the test during various tasks, from cutting through thick branches to everyday utility tasks. Each time, it's managed to hold up impressively, and I never have to worry about it failing me.
However, one downside I've noticed is that the knife requires a bit of maintenance. It's recommended to hand wash the knife after each use, which can be a bit inconvenient at times. But overall, the pros far outweigh the cons.
In conclusion, the Tops Knives Missile Strike has been a fantastic addition to my toolkit. Its blend of combat and utility features makes it a versatile and reliable partner for all sorts of tasks. If you're in the market for a high-quality, durable knife, this one definitely deserves a spot on your belt.

🔗Powerful Cold Steel Chaos Trench Knife

I recently came across the Cold Steel Chaos Double Edge knife and have been using it daily for both personal protection and as a dependable tool in my work. This innovative take on the WWI trench knife is both stylish and functional, with its thick steel pommel and SK-5 high carbon blade. What stood out to me right away with this knife was the comfortable grip it provides; the D ring guard made of reinforced aluminum feels sturdy and secure in my hand.
The knife's overall length of 13.5 inches might seem intimidating at first, but it actually provides a good balance between versatility and power. The thick 7.5-inch blade, available in both double edge and tanto styles, is coated with black Tuff-Ex, providing excellent corrosion resistance and increased cutting power. One of the highlights of the Cold Steel Chaos knife is its Tuff-Ex coating, which makes it perfectly suitable for everyday use in any environment.
The Secure-Ex sheath it comes with is another strong point of this knife. It's designed for reliable and versatile carry with a belt loop attachment. The handle, made of 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, is both sturdy and lightweight. I must say, the quality of this product is top-notch, and Cold Steel has truly outdone itself with the Chaos Double Edge knife.

🔗Reliable Full Tang Cross Knife with MOLLE Mount

As an avid outdoorsman, I found the TRUE Fixed Blade Knife to be a reliable and versatile tool in my kit. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade with its drop point design offers a solid edge and excellent retention, perfect for those who need a long-lasting knife that can handle any task.
One of the highlights of this knife is its flexibility in carrying options, thanks to the molded sheath. It can be easily attached using the MOLLE system for those who rely on it for their outdoor adventures or in everyday life. The vertical belt loop also adds convenience for users who prefer carrying it on either hip.
However, one aspect that could use improvement is the handle design. While it is comfortable and ergonomic, it could benefit from some texture for better grip, especially in wet conditions. Despite this, the TRUE Fixed Blade Knife remains a trusty companion that has proved useful in my daily life and outdoor activities.

The Cold Steel 49LCKD SRK Compact Fixed Blade caught my attention when I first saw it in person. I was searching for a reliable and high-performance small knife for my daily activities. Upon getting it, the first thing that stood out was the impressive craftsmanship of the handle and blade, made from a mix of Kray-Ex and SK5. It's a perfect balance of utility and aesthetics. The blade length of 12.5 cm made it extremely convenient for everyday tasks, whereas the 145-gram weight offered just the right amount of heft.
On the other hand, it is not without its shortcomings. Despite the compact size, there was some limitation in terms of handle length, making it uncomfortable for people with large hands. But overall, the Cold Steel 49LCKD SRK Compact Fixed Blade proved to be a versatile and sturdy companion, ready to take on any challenge.

🔗Fox Native Survival Bushcraft Knife - Versatile and Durable D2 Carbon Steel Knife

https://preview.redd.it/bddpytsla52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b96f8e16b512b3aec08565a339c4531c664cdf5
I was recently on a camping trip and decided to bring along the Fox Native Survival Bushcraft Knife for some extra peace of mind. This knife, designed by Andrea Todesco, made me wonder why I hadn't been using something like this in the past.
From the get-go, unsheathing it felt surprisingly tactile and well-made. It's the perfect size for various tasks, thanks to the 17.5 cm (6.89") D2 carbon steel blade that effortlessly glides through wood. Sharpening it was a breeze, and I appreciated that it retained a sharp edge even after a few hours of heavy-duty work.
Now let's talk about the handle. My favorite part? The Micarta construction. It's sturdy and gives you an incredible grip, even when your hands feel like they're about to fall off after a long day of hard work. The presence of Paracord holes was a smart touch that definitely added another safety layer to the knife.
The leather belt sheath that comes with the Fox Native Survival Bushcraft Knife is a perfect fit. It's a nice addition that gives the knife a professional look and makes it safe to transport.
All in all, this rugged knife is a worthy companion for any wilderness excursion. However, I did have a little trouble with the sheath staying on when I was moving about really quickly. That aside, the Fox Native Survival Bushcraft Knife has absolutely earned its spot in my camping gear collection.

🔗Versatile Mora Kansbol Knife with Multi-Mount Sheath

https://preview.redd.it/c8vvwz4ma52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fe63242019f82ec780f83a698cf39c8664a493d
I've recently been trekking through the wilderness with the Morakniv Kansbol, a versatile knife that truly stands up to the test. The first thing that caught my attention was its adaptability - it effortlessly transitions from a lightweight cutting tool to a robust, reliable one. The Kansbol feels like a perfect companion on the trail, ready to tackle any challenge thrown its way.
One of the key highlights that really impresses me is the knife's ability to be used with a fire starter. It's such a helpful feature on those cold winter nights when all you want is to warm your hands. The knife's spine is even perfect for creating sparks with a ferro rod. Plus, the Multi-Mount feature allows for endless mounting options, and it's even MOLLE compatible.
The knife's ergonomic handle has a great grip, making it ideal for those with bigger hands. But, there's one slight drawback - it's not as effective when it comes to larger and more demanding cutting tasks. In these situations, a heavier and more robust knife is better suited.
Though the Kansbol weighs slightly less than its heavy-duty counterpart, its included sheath has a more positive lock and can accept the knife regardless of blade direction. The knife is made of high-quality stainless steel, known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, but it might not be as good for batoning as the Heavy Duty Companion.
Overall, I'd recommend the Morakniv Kansbol for anyone looking for an all-round knife to bring on their outdoor adventures. Its versatility and reliability make it the perfect choice for both forest and lake activities.

🔗Danco Micro Flex Knife: Strong, Sharp, and Affordable Cross Knife with High Edge Retention and Durability

https://preview.redd.it/llso4ioma52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d45f9820407bdf401d44e5bf17bd66fc3cb97993

I recently had the chance to try out the Danco 9" Lunar Micro Flex Knife, and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, I'm always on the lookout for a reliable and durable knife that can stand up to whatever I throw its way. The Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel used in this knife really sets it apart from others I've tried.
What makes this steel so special? Well, it offers the perfect balance between hardness and brittleness, which is crucial for anglers dealing with game. Its superior edge retention also allowed me to keep an edge for an impressive 5-7 times longer than other knives I've used. The finer-grain structure of the Swedish steel contributes to this impressive durability, and it's great to see that Danco has managed to incorporate these unique properties into their knife.
One thing that really stood out to me was the ease of blade re-sharpening. The improved edge stability and folding make this process much simpler and more efficient than I've experienced with other knives. The knife's strong, sharp, and durable design makes it a great choice for any outdoor enthusiast. And let's not forget the affordable price, which is always a plus when you're looking for a high-quality tool.
In conclusion, the Danco 9" Lunar Micro Flex Knife is an excellent choice for anyone who needs a dependable and durable knife for their outdoor adventures. The exceptional edge retention, combined with the ease of blade re-sharpening, make this knife a standout among its competitors. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable option that won't let you down, this is the knife for you.

🔗Tops Knives Skullcrusher's Extensively Built Cross Knife with Black Linen Micarta Handle

https://preview.redd.it/uja8k74na52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a04f6c22de21cb0eb3425367434ca5fe7c77b46
A few days ago, I found myself in the great outdoors, equipped with only this Tops Knives Skullcrusher's Extreme Sidekick Fixed Blade Knife. The 5.25in 1095 RC 56-58 steel blade was sharp enough to handle any task thrown my way, from carving through wood to preparing a hearty campfire meal. The black linen micarta handle, with its comfortable, textured grip, made it easy to securely hold onto, even during the most grueling activities. The blade's sawback configuration also proved useful in various cutting tasks, going beyond the scope of a typical fixed blade.
The black Kydex belt sheath is a well-designed inclusion, providing a secure way to keep this knife close when not in use. However, I did notice the blade tang could be slightly thicker for a more snug fit within the sheath. Nonetheless, the hand-finished build and the knowledge that this knife was made right here in the USA made this experience all the more satisfying.

🔗Frost Hawk Guardian Cross Knife with Bone Handle and Brown Leather Sheath

https://preview.redd.it/7c1pukdna52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89c8ab4eaf1a769ddfcb6fe97775b3ab8eed6f45
The Frost CW886TB Hawk Guardian is a striking addition to any knife collection. The 12-inch overall length and a 7-inch satin finish stainless blade make it a versatile tool for various tasks.
The torched bone handle provides a comfortable grip, while the brass guard and pommel add a touch of elegance. The pakkawood spacers and brown leather belt sheath complete the package, giving it a refined and polished look.
However, I did notice that the locking mechanism isn't as smooth as I would have preferred, and the blade sharpening could be a bit tricky due to its unique design. Overall, the Frost CW886TB Hawk Guardian is an eye-catching piece that offers a combination of form and function.

🔗Kasumi Dia Cross 6" Zaku Giri Knife: High-Quality Stainless Steel Blade for Every Chef's Kitchen

https://preview.redd.it/weggy8vna52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4783fd37b8f4d141998baf075089456e52399ea
Kasumi's DIA Cross Zaku Giri Knife, a masterpiece hailing from the land of the rising sun - Japan, has become my go-to kitchen companion. Crafted with the finest molybednum vanadium steel for the blade and 18-8 stainless steel for the handle, it exudes an elegant durability that adds a touch of professionalism to any chef's kitchen.
The sturdy grip, although a bit heavy for some, fits perfectly in my palm and keeps the knife from slipping during use. It might need a little extra effort to clean after every use, but the hand-wash-only instructions ensure the blade stays sharp and corrosion-free. Overall, this Zaku Giri Knife is a must-have for any serious cook, with its sturdy design, premium craftsmanship, and satisfying sharpness.

🔗Kershaw Federalist USA-Made Slipjoint Knife

https://preview.redd.it/16alt3hoa52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90aef5e4f0b0409aee4f55fa1d6fe78e0be2f9ee
The Kershaw Federalist, a slipjoint designed to pay tribute to the American spirit, is a versatile and sturdy tool. Its non-locking nature makes it unique while still providing a reliable edge for various tasks.
The double-detent system holds the blade in place and ensures controlled opening and closing, making it a safe choice for users. The green micarta handle with its canvas texture feels satisfying and offers durability, complemented by the distinct aesthetic. The full flat grind, ultra-slicey blade glides through tasks effortlessly, and it's made of CPM 154 powdered metallurgy, ensuring an edge that retains its sharpness and resists corrosion and wear.
A lanyard hole, a custom pivot that forms a shield detail, and a backspacer add to the knife's unique appeal. Though I've not encountered any specific drawbacks in my experience with the Federalist, I'm certain the positive aspects make it a worthwhile investment.

FAQ

What is a Cross Knife?

A Cross Knife, also known as a Cross-Cut Knife or a Multi-Purpose Knife, is a versatile kitchen tool designed for cutting and slicing various food items.

What materials are Cross Knives made of?

  • Most Cross Knives are made from stainless steel, which offers durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Some high-end models may also feature ceramic blades for improved sharpness and longevity.
The handle material varies, offering options such as plastic, wood, or synthetic materials like polymer.

What is the difference between a Cross Cut Knife and a chef's knife?

A Cross Cut Knife is designed for precise cutting and slicing, making it ideal for fruits, vegetables, and cheeses. On the other hand, a chef's knife is a general-purpose knife suitable for various tasks like chopping, mincing, and dicing.

What should I look for when purchasing a Cross Knife?

  • Durability: Look for a Cross Knife made of high-quality materials like stainless steel or ceramic for longevity.
  • Sharpness: Opt for a Cross Knife with a thin, sharp blade for easy cutting and slicing.
  • Comfort: Find a model with an ergonomic handle for a comfortable grip during use.

Are Cross Knives dishwasher safe?

While many Cross Knives are dishwasher safe, it is always best to check the manufacturer's instructions for specific care recommendations. Handwashing is generally recommended for better maintenance of the blade and the knife's overall durability.

How should I store my Cross Knife?

Store your Cross Knife in a safe place, such as a magnetic knife strip or a knife block, to prevent accidental injuries and maintain its sharpness.

Can I use a Cross Knife for cutting meat?

Cross Knives are not specifically designed for cutting meat. However, if you need to cut a few slices of cooked meat, most Cross Knives should be fine. For heavy-duty meat cutting, a specialized boning knife or a serrated knife would be more suitable.

2024.05.23 11:29 hiimcara Aunt being way too involved in moms death

So I’m 20, and I just lost my mom may 5th. A part of my family that we don’t really speak to but just showed up after 15 years when my mom got terminal, are meddling way too much. My mom’s brother is one of them but at least he is nice and not overwhelming. Actually my aunt(his wife) did not even visit my mom when she was at the hospice or hospital. I get that they are jehova’s witnesses, so because of their religion they don’t really talk to us that much, but at least my uncle is tolerable. One of the only reasons why we have been talking to them again is also because they’re taking care of my sick grandma. My family we were all told by the priest that at the funeral(last Tuesday) only the CLOSEST friends and family could sit at the front. I wanna mention also that my aunt is horrible and annoying, and my mom did not even like her, and her best friend even told me that my mom would not have wanted her to sit at the front either. Of course then at the funeral my annoying aunt sits at the front and I was so emotional I couldn’t control myself she and her little jehova family(not even my uncle) sat next to me and my sister at the front. I told her that it should only be the closest family that sits at the front, and that she was not close with my family at all, and because of them there was not even space for my dad and brother at the bench. I told her to move and she got super offended and told me that then who should sit with my grandma and I was like ??? Of course we can do that. Anyways we ended up just moving to the other bench in the front, with my dad and brother while my aunts family(that have not wanted to talk to us for 15 years) sat at the front with a perfect view of my mothers picture on the casket. Then when we all walked home to our house close by, I tried apologizing to her but I just couldn’t, I brushed her off and I just said it’s probably best if I stop talking. I even tried apologizing again, and ended up telling her daughter that I just really didn’t like her mom. Then I avoided her for the rest of the day. But now my aunt also wants to be involved in putting my mom’s urn down in the ground in a few weeks!! My dad doesn’t know how to say no. I just don’t know how to deal with this because my mom hated her, I hate her, we all do. I just hate that she comes out of nowhere taking up so much space and showing false empathy for attention and we all know none of us will talk to that side of my family ever again when all of this is done. I don’t know what to do. I am sad. Especially putting down the urn was supposed to be peaceful but she is gonna come and ruin everything with her bad energy

2024.05.23 11:29 IlCelli My opinion and feedback on the demo

Ciao! This is my useless opinion on the demo. Some of you might agree, some might disagree but I'm mainly writing in hope of being useful to the developers. Why all this good will you ask? I'm italian, I want this game to be good and I'll help if I can. The summary has zero spoilers, the rest of the text might at times be considered spoilery so read at your own peril.
I kinda disliked the feeling of the combat. Not because of the features or the parry, but because of the weapons themselves. Enemies are strong and challenging, but deal a little to much damage for my liking. the stagger is unreliable with most enemies being staggerable only in specific situations making it counterintuitive (Elden Ring's Malenia has the same problem). Bosses after the tutorial one have simply to many hp and to much posture. No spoilers, but those fight are composed mainly of attacks that can 2tap you and they are way to tanky to dish out that much damage. Overall i would say that they have a solid base for a game with enougth identity to shine, but they are in dire need of some heavy tuning (god bless the september release).
Give me that V-Sync! Jokes aside the first game session was terrible, wild swings in framerates (from 144 to 90 each second) and a lower frame cap (60 without V-sync) did nothing. The session afterwards the frame cap to 60 was almost rock solid and the only complain i had was screen tearing and motion blurr, but i expect that they can be fixed for the realease. To those curious about the specs i had a 3080 and an i5 of tenth gen.
Mask lines are satisfying and can combo really well, parry is snappy and gives a lot of satisfaction but the weapons are terrible to use. Most feel to slow and because of that the combat feels awfully turn-based; the few that are decently fast have so little stagger that they result in the same feeling since you have to wait for the right moment to attack. It all changes when you charge the mask lines and can start the combo you envisioned when you created the loadout. The problem remains that to charge those abilities you need to use the weapon, and that part is terrible. I loved the addition of loadouts and i feel like those could lead to fun optimization and combo late into the run. The last thing i will mention in this section is the animations used for the enemies; "per la madonna" (italian swear) Godrick is a terrible model to use for everything. For those that are not familiar Godrick is a boss in Elden Ring famous for, and I quote Maxor, "holding all of his attacks until the heat death of the universe" and they used the same style for most of the enemies in the demo. This is not terrible in a game where dodge and shield are the most used tools for avoiding damage, but here they are clearly pushed aside for the parry mechanic and an unintuitive style in enemy animation pattern is frustrating at best.
The damage you can output as a player feels inconsistent. Most enemies will die in 2-3 hits, bosses have way to much hp, but the real problem are weapons again. I upgraded 2 weapons in the demo: a mace and an ultragreatsword. Both at +4 the respective damage against the same enemy was 210 and 270. Considered the wild difference in speed I expected the UG to hit far harder.
It is not the clearest that i have ever seen, but for sure is usable and hilarious at times due to the names they gave to items ("Miracle Pesto"! Mamma mia!). One issue that can be solved is the tutorial on mask change. You receive the first one from the tutorial boss and the game auto-equips it into a slot for you to try it. The problem is that you can change them only at "bonefires" and the auto-equip thing convinced me to try equip them while exploring for too many minutes to admit.
The design is really cool. Arena design feels really cool as well. Attacks are well telegraphed and this leads to a cool Sekiro-like fighting style. The problem is the camera imo. It should be slightly more elevated with a lower angle (maybe 5 degrees, not a lot). This because most of the times the character is covering part if the enemy (or most of them for the little ones) and during bossfights since, they are higher, you end up having a cool close-up of the ass of your character (no judgment passed, you do you). Their damage is on the high side and they have to much hp and posture. In my opinion you either change only their hp and leave the rest the same or you lower the posture and up the damage that we deal at posture-break. The last boss of the demo required 2 posture-break repost, 1 to 2 R1 after each parry and 2 complete cycles of all my lines to go down. Maybe thats a little to many hps.
I am confused. Levels are so cheap that feels like they need to be adjusted for inflation from the '50. On the contrary weapon, lines and masks upgrade ramp up so fast that by the end of the demo you are giving up 2 whole levels for an upgrade of you weapon (materials excluded).
I am thrilled by the potential of the game and its possible sequels. When it launches in september i'll watch some gameplay to see if some of the problems that i encountered are fixed and I'll consider supporting the project. I would also encourage you guys to try the demo and give your feedback, the studio is little and you might have more weight than expected. Thaks for reading this essay of mine, comments are welcome. Have a nice one.

2024.05.23 11:24 Illuminatus-Prime Poodle Has the Blues

The Setup
I live in a nice neighborhood, with very few exceptions (see: "It's Whom You Know" under Petty Revenge). The biggest exceptions were people who let their dogs run loose and wild. Between the scattered trash, the random dog feces on our lawns, and the seemingly lackadaisical attitude displayed by Animal Control personnel, I (for one) was ready to take matters into my own hands.
So I set up one of those live-trap cages, hidden behind my fence near the trash bins. It wasn't baited, so I didn't expect anything; but to my surprise, a large, white, curly-haired dog with a classic poodle cut was caught in it one morning -- no collar or tag, darn it.
The Revenge
I covered the cage and loaded into my truck. Then I drove out to a friend's place in the country. We shaved off all of its fur, and then dunked it in a trough of indelible blue dye. For the next few days, we fed it, walked it, and checked it regularly for any adverse reactions to the dye. Seeing none, I drove it back to the neighborhood and released it about a block from my home.
On the way back to my place, I notice some "Lost Dog" posters on the lamp-posts. The picture of the lost dog looked very familiar . . .
The Fallout
The owners put some "Reward" posters up, asking for "Information Leading to the Arrest and Conviction" of whoever committed an unspecified assault against their family pet. They also kept their dog confined to their own backyard from then on, as did many others in the neighborhood.
And, for the first time in a long time, no one on my street had to pick up any loose trash or dog droppings. This lasted for several weeks.

2024.05.23 11:20 cleopatraboudicca Terrified of losing my identity as FTM

I'm a about to be a one and done ftm. I've put off motherhood for a long time, partially due to fearing a loss of identity/people's expectations that you forget about who you were before and just turn into a mombie. I've always hated.'mummy culture', the idea of mummy Facebook groups and meetups and although I'll give those a try I am pretty certain I won't enjoy it.
I understand that becoming a mother is HUGE and of course there will be some major changes and sacrifices that I will have/already have made. I am trying to mitigate this whole new phase in life completely taking over by listening to my intuition and sticking to my boundaries. But the idea that I will be a completely different person with nothing else to talk about besides my child frightens me.
Wondering how others have held on to their identity through their motherhood journey and hoping for some positive/inspiring stories.

I recently used the OEMTOOLS 27212 Manual Bushing Installation and Removal Tool Set to replace the bushings in my vehicle, and I must say, it saved me a ton of time and effort. The kit comes with four unique end plates and four force screws, all stored in a convenient carry-case. This set is perfect for both auto experts and DIY mechanics who want to avoid damaging their bearings or suspension housings while working on various repair projects.
One of the standout features of this tool set is its ability to be used in a workshop press when on-site access is limited. The plates and sleeves are designed to fit standard presses, allowing for versatile use in different environments. The 20 included cups and receivers provide an extensive range of sizes (from 44 mm to 82 mm) to cater to various repair needs.
Another highlight of this OEMTOOLS bushing press kit is its innovative cup design, which enables users to easily monitor the progress of their bush or bearing removal or installation. The threaded forcing screws used in the tool set are equipped with ball bearings, reducing stress on the threads and ensuring a smooth and efficient repair process.
However, one downside I experienced with this bushing installation tool set is its limited availability in local auto parts stores. I had to wait for the shipment, but it was worth the wait as it made my repair job incredibly easy. Overall, I highly recommend this set for anyone looking to remove or install suspension bushings, wheel bearings, or seals with ease and precision.

It's not just about convenience, but also about ensuring that everything stays securely in place while I work on it.
Another thing that I absolutely loved is how well it's packaged. The sturdy blow molded case not only keeps these parts safe and organized but also makes transporting them super easy. And let's not forget about the mechanical screw power feature. It's like having a mini assistant helping you replace those bushings without breaking a sweat or straining your muscles.
However, there is one concern that I have with this set. Some of the adapters might not fit perfectly with all types of control arms. So, it's important to double-check and see if everything lines up nicely before starting your work.

🔗Schley Products Trailing Arm Bushing Remover Installer for Honda/Acura

https://preview.redd.it/gyl28bca852d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c796d0ab231b5d02445e3d803b5fdacf4c2e69f2
As a mechanical enthusiast, I recently needed to replace the trailing arm bushings on my trusty Honda Civic. I came across the Schley Products 65100 Honda Acura Trailing Arm Bushing Remover Installer and decided to give it a shot.
The first thing that caught my attention was how easy it was to use. Unlike the traditional method that involves using a hydraulic press or removing the trailing arm from the vehicle, this tool did the job in a matter of minutes. The packaging claims it requires only 15 minutes per side compared to the factory "book" time of 138 hours per side. I was skeptical at first, but my doubts were quickly put to rest as I found the tool to be incredibly efficient and user-friendly.
Another feature that made a difference was its ability to remove the bushing without needing to disconnect brake parts such as calipers, rotors, brake shoes, brake fluid lines, and emergency brake cables. This not only saved me time but also ensured that I did not have to deal with the complex assembly of these components once the job was done.
In terms of quality, the Schley Products 65100 felt sturdy and well-constructed. The metal components were thick, and the welds were strong, inspiring confidence in its ability to handle the task at hand. The blow-molded case provided a convenient way to store the tool when not in use, and it kept all the components organized and protected.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks that I encountered during my experience. First, the tool can produce quite a bit of noise when removing the bushing, which may be startling for some users. Second, applying enough force to install the new bushing can take a bit of effort, but it is manageable with some patience and the right technique.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the Schley Products 65100 Honda Acura Trailing Arm Bushing Remover Installer. It has made replacing trailing arm bushings a much more manageable task, saving me a significant amount of time and effort. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone looking to simplify their Honda or Acura bushing replacement process.

2024.05.23 11:14 Midnight_Moon10 Please help

TLDR: cicadas scare the absolute shit out of me (biggest phobia is cicadas. Not insects, just cicadas. No, I’m not willing to try exposure therapy) and just seeing one can make me cry and most times I walk my dogs end with a full blown panic attack. What do I do to keep the cicadas away from my neighborhood or at least my house. Please
I’m not gonna lie, want nothing more than to have all the cicadas in my neighborhood killed and removed however I can’t find any way to do that either the killing or removing so here I am and no I’m not asking how I kill them (ik they’re easy to kill but I want them to fly off to neverland and never land on my property again) but I am asking how do I deal with how many cicadas there are. I wish I was exaggerating when I say I run into maybe 50-100 shells and bugs combined in a 15 minute walk around my neighborhood. I have a phobia of cicadas, other bugs I can kinda ignore they gross me out and I refuse to touch them but at least they aren’t littering the sidewalk with their fucking corpses. I’ve had so many panic attacks and breakdowns since they’ve come out and this happens every year and it’s only getting worse and no I am not willing to try exposure therapy I want nothing to do with them is there any way to get them to leave my neighborhood? I can’t walk 5 feet without running into 20 on the sidewalks and I wish I was exaggerating but they are everywhere and half of them are dead which makes it even worse cause now they’re not gonna walk away so I’m stuck with this corpse I gotta walk past when I just want to hide in my room till this is all over. I despise cicadas and I admit I hope they go extinct, there’s hundreds of other insects and humans have made new animals earth always finds a way we’ll survive we always have. I refuse to touch them and I will not go anywhere near them unless absolutely necessary and it usually ends with my sobbing my eyes out while carrying my dogs home because there’s too many. Is there anything that I can do or I ask my parents to do or I can buy to at the very least keep them away from the house? I put some peppermint vines by the front and back door and put peppermint essential oil outside my bedroom window. I know how bad my phobia is and I know that they can’t hurt me and that they’re basically just drunk flying everywhere and are just food but I’d genuinely throw a party if they disappeared. They are disgusting in every way and their wings when they fly or their noise makes me gag and the very thought of them is making me want to cry. I am so terrified of them and I’m even more terrified of the dead ones (thankfully the ones in my neighborhood haven’t been flying much but I will be walking around with a blowtorch if they start to fly) and I refuse to try exposure therapy cause it’s well exposure which is the last thing I want and even if it will help me get better it is not something I’m willing to do now as I’ve had enough breakdowns for a day. The funny thing is pictures of cicadas gross me out but I don’t get the same violently terrified reaction unless it’s the actual thing. I don’t know what to do and all of my friends seem to think cicadas are really cool and my fear of them is stupid or something so I’m on my own here and I just wish I could move somewhere colder and never deal with them again but minimum wage isn’t even enough to afford a Big Mac so I’m kinda screwed and even if I could afford to move I don’t know any of the basic necessities so I’m double fucked. I think I’m just ranting cause I know I’m gonna get hate for this post but I am so terrified of them that my friends find it hilarious which makes me feel worse but I don’t know what to do and I hate these stupid things and I hate how stupid they are which makes it even worse cause they’ll end up upside down or something and they’ll just lay there and now I gotta find a way around them and no way in hell am I walking on the grass. I don’t know what I’m asking anymore from this I just know they terrify me and honestly terrify doesn’t sound like the right words cause I also can’t sleep because of them and not because of any noise I close my eyes and picture them and it keeps me up. Anyone with really bad cicada phobia got any tips (that isn’t exposure therapy because again, no absolutely not I refuse not in a million years) please please please any advice is helpful. Sorry to y’all who like cicadas for how much I hate them.
(Also does anyone know how long it’ll last for? Cause I’m having like a breakdown or panic attack every day from these shits and idk what to do. How long do I have to deal with this shit cause I’m way past my breaking point)
Thank you and have a nice day
