So a little backstory…. I (24f) have ALWAYS struggled with eating. Since I was a kid my eating habits, what I ate, how I ate, when I ate, and how I feel about the meal, have always been extremely… particular to say the least. I moved to SA in April for school and I have seriously struggled with eating. A food I am typically able to eat, and eat consistently is chips, salsa, and while queso. I researched several places before deciding on one to go to, and it was a huge let down and I was not able to finish eating it. The state im originally from has one of my “safe foods” it’s known as a “Steven Special”. It’s pretty much just Mexican rice, fajita chicken, sautéed onions, and white queso on top. For 3 years I lived in New England and there was a restaurant by my house who’d so graciously make this just for me anytime I came in and it was amazing. But since moving to SA I can’t find anything. I’ve looked high and low on the internet for a restaurant that makes this meal and I cannot find a place that makes it. I did go to one restaurant that I thought would have it and they had no idea what I was talking about. I typically show the wait staff a picture of what I’m asking for and unfortunately it never gets done correctly.( I’d like to add I’m not blaming anyone or any establishment. I fully understand how difficult it is for someone else to meet expectations that I have in my head about food) Since being here I’ve eaten maybe once a day? Maybe if that. Yes, I go to the grocery store and I make 9/10 meals that I eat, but sometimes I’d like to order a meal, pick it up, and then eat it at home. Or sometimes class mates want to go out for dinner or food and typically I don’t go because nothing is available that I’ll eat. So if I could recommend a place that could help me bond with my classmates better. Does anyone have any recommendations?
