2024.05.08 12:57 Lunara_Misakiaro Special Coworker gets a spicy dish served after taking my silence as a "yes"

I will change names for this one.
Warning: Its a long one. Better brew a lot of tea.
So this started 3 years ago. I (now 24,f) worked and studied in a BBW (Berufsbildungswerk). It was the school begin in summer and my class got new students.
INFO: In BBW´s you begin either in February or in mid of august. I live, study and work in one same place as 1000 students. The BBW had two onside dorms.
Amongst the new student was a special student, lets call him David (now 22,m). He was your typical macho guy, who had always strong opinions about certain topics and in the very first 3 weeks we got along well....
Well, so I´d thought. There were a lot of red flags that I didn´t notice at the time about him, that made indeed obvious how he came over to me and all the other was just a facade. He often would ask of me to bring, give and take "his" school supplies, worksheets etc. with me because his reasoning was "I don´t have a bag. I can´t carry my books and worksheets".
In other words he wanted me to be his luggage donkey....
I often would ask of him to get his stuff but he always dodged it with replies like he is getting it next week...
He told me on multiple occasions that I was someone good to talk to with...(he mostly talked while I just listened. He didn´t even let me make any comments)
Now the banger in this story was one certain tuesday that I had. It was in the morning, around a 5 minute classroom change where he asked me "Lunara, can we chill this afternoon after school? And drink some beer?".....
I didn´t reply to his question at all, because I was stressed with stuffing my schoolbag and heading to my next class. (Which is probably my fault that he took my silence and me rushing to the next class as a yes. But I digress)
Now you would think by chilling with someone you don´t know at all or barely, you would want to hangout at a place where many people are. Outside... Just not in your room necessarily, or your apartment....
Now I had earlier off from school and decided to do my laundry which was ... underwear heavy and black.... and while I was changing into something comfy the unthinkable happened...
While being half nude, David aggressively bangs on my door and opens the door without getting from me a reply back that he could come inside. Me, half nude stumbles and rushes to the door trying to shut it but David had his foot between the door and doorframe. He went aggressive on me and made a huge scene in my dormgroups hallway.
I remembered David asking the question and handed him a beer outside and asked him if he could wait a bit outside but I couldn´t finish even asking David, because he pushed the door open and I fell butt flat on the floor. I took my clothes that I wanted to change into and rushed into my bathroom.
Coming out, David sat on the ground with the beer I gave him and blasted his music box. 10 minutes passed by and he started to look around in my room. (Mind you, I do take medications. And at the time I stored my treatments in my room, in a lockable rollcontainer.)
David, overcome with curiosity started to go through my stuff on my desk. He noticed that the lockable part of my rollcontainer was locked and demanded that I need to open the rollcontainer. I said no. David got more angry and demanded it again to which I again said No.
Pissed off, David moved onto my laundry basket and went through it. He made comments like "Oh nice black lace you´ve got. What Cup-Size do you wear? I bet it looks sexy on you." It made my skin crawl and I couldn´t utter a word because I was shocked that he went through my laundry basket.
He continued on going through my bathroom, complaining that he doesn´t see many make up products? that it doesn´t look like that the bathroom is that of a woman. David continued his little journey through my pantry which had buldak noodles in it.(This is important later) He asked me if I could make a portion for him. I told him those were really spicy noodles. David told me that he is fine, since they "supposedly" aren´t that spicy and that he can´t handle that much spice. I told him that I don´t mind making him a portion but that I would start cooking soon "since I wanted to go to bed early". (I tried making a reasonable excuse as I felt immensely uncomfortable and wanted him gone as fast as I could without him getting aggressive)
He moved on from my pantry to my wardrobe, where he would make more comments on my underwear and asking me if I was taken if I ever had something....popable... with someone. If I even knew what a pp would look like... Ignoring all his questions I asked David why he would go through my stuff...
His reply you ask?
"Thats what friends do to get to know each other."
I stood there speechless. Unable to reply anything at all, I took the buldak noodles and went into the community kitchen. My caretakers asked if I was fine and assured them that I was. (Which obviously was a lie. But I also didn´t wanted them to worry or deal with David´s aggressive behavior)
INFO: When David came, the caretakers weren´t there and had a shift change.
I asked David if he wanted Cheese or stir-fried eggs in his buldak noodles to reduce the spiciness. But he declined. When I finished making his noodles he ate 3 bites before rushing to the kitchens fridge and downed a whole milk carton down. It wasn´t enough so he ran to the groups pantry room, to the fridge in that room to get butter milk.
David excused himself saying that he wasn´t feeling well. He ran out of the group like a dog running when its mealtime. My caretakers noticed it and asked me again if something happened between me and David. I shaked my head and went with mine and his portion back into my room.
Next day came...
I had P.E.classes with him and while we played badminton together with other people from different classes, David would complain to them about me. The spice level was to much for his body and he apparently sat four hours on the toilette and had to ask his roommate to bring him many bottles of buttermilk. Apparently 7 x 750ml bottles.
David would go on how he would wanna do it with me and how he liked my underwear. At the end of the P.E. lesson, people asked me if I was okay...
I was not....
I was livid, mad and filled with anger and disgust. I went that same day to my supervisor Mr.Magus and told him everything that happened... I originally wanted to let that day slide. Let what happened go...
But David crossed the line....
Actions were taken. David wasn´t allowed to come near to me, talk to me or work together with me. He wasn´t allowed to step foot into my dormgroup and everyone from our department got to know everything that happened between us...
But it didn´t ended there...
5 weeks later on a Friday, I got called in by my caretakers. In their office I see two yellow trashbags and the caretakers from the group that David was staying in.
They apologized to me and told me that today the caretakers did a room inspection on David´s room as the caretakers received complains from other groupmates staying in that group, that there was a nasty smell coming out of David´s room and found out the source of the smell.
The source was my and other women underwear that he had stolen out of our rooms. Those two bags had my underwear in it and I can´t tell you how vile it was. My underwear was covered in a white yellowish sticky gooey substance that smelled abysmal...
I tried washing them but ultimately had to throw them away.
How he got into my room you ask?
He stole from the cleaning personal a general key that opens literally any room in the dorm. He would often come when I was either sleeping or showering.
I was mad and livid. So I went petty again. I went and made a sign that said "Warning!!! I love spicy food! Hide your milk cartons away or they will be gone." printed and laminated the sign and stitched into his chair.
Next day came and all I hear are cuss words and David´s Supervisor giving David a kickout warning if he wouldn´t quiet down. David never got to know that it was me who ghost stitched on the sign on his chair. and he wasn´t able to remove it at all.
In those 3 years, I had multiple issues continuing on with David. variating from SH to sometimes AS the final straw happened 1 month ago.
I was resting in our breakroom as my migrain got worse and saw that in the breakroom, David had his stuff laying around. I knew David would at some point get his belongings and leave the room.
If he had done that he wouldn´t be banned from the BBW and wouldn´t have been demoted to homeoffice. While I laid on the couch on my side, he came inside, around the table and proceeds to slap my butt. Unable to utter a word due to the lack of mental capacity, I put my leg down and David did trip over it. He went mad and said "you b-word!!!" and punches my head. He punched so hard that my migrain got worse and a few seconds later, I got nosebleed as well.
I was in shock and feared that if I said anything rn it would make him again aggressive. So I went 2 days later to my psychologist and told her what happened.
When the class wanted to know where David was I told them what happened and the whole class went into joy. Like someone gave them a hefty raise or a good grade.
It lasted only 2 weeks due to government regulations but I will never forget the cheer Joy the class had.

2024.05.08 12:55 Randomuserr012 New job

Alright so been driving for about a year and a half and got a new job opportunity that I really want to work out. I've done most of their computer training and signed all company policy paperwork, last steps are a road test and signing an offer letter if the road test goes well. That's where I need some advice. I passed my cdl in a 18spd and drove a 13spd at my current job for about 6 months at the start but for the past 10 months I've been stuck in a auto. The road test will be in a 18spd and I know I'm going to be rusty. I told the company this and they say it'll come back to me. I'm not concerned about my ability to drive it, but I already know there's going to be a good bit of grinding going on lol. I really want this job and want it to work out. And tips to stop freaking out about this road test and to hopefully have it go well?

2024.05.08 12:53 exhaustedspud Help with Europe Trip

I posted this over on AusFemaleFashion but was directed here as you girls may be more helpful.
I am planning a month-long trip to Europe in September - early October this year with some friends. We will be going to warmer countries (e.g. Greece, Iberian peninsula) and colder ones (e.g. Switzerland). I also have a stop-off at Singapore for about a day before heading home. I have never been on a trip as long as this and I would like some advice/tips on how and what to pack. I am trying to keep it as light as possible (< 10 kg) as I am hoping to avoid paying extra baggage fees during inter-country flights.
I guess some of my questions would be:
  1. How many jeans and t-shirts should I bring?
  2. What jackets should I bring? I have a rain jacket I wear during spring (pretty thin). I also have one with internal pockets for keeping important items.
  3. I am planning to bring at least one jumper as I am also traveling for work for the first week. Would you girls recommend bringing another for chilly nights?
  4. Would I be okay bringing about a week's worth of underwear or a little more?
  5. Does anyone have recommendations for shoes? My current pair are very worn down as I wear them everywhere and my Converses may not do well on European cobblestones as the soles are quite thin.
  6. Should I get a travel belt?
  7. What bag would you recommend using (I am trying to avoid any wheel-y ones)? A hiking one?
Thanks for making it this far down the post. I'm not sure if there are anymore questions but these are just the very important ones for now.

For IB students this is where I am stuck right now, I took Biology, Chemistry, and Math, although didn't take physics would this effect me significantly? 2024.05.08 12:48 Correct-Succotash-47 Travelling long distance post op

Hello 👋🏼
Got my surgery date which is 17th June which is a month before I’m meant to be taking son and daughter to Cornwall to visit my grandparents. - total tome travelling, approx 11 hours - 9 hours approx sitting down - 10 year old can help with bags - 2 year old will be in stroller - changing trains two or three times
While I write this, I feel like it would be better to not go but was wondering if anyone else has travelled for a similar amount of time or if anyone had any tips or opinions on what I should do?

2024.05.08 12:45 ykzdropdead Solution to the raid buff problem

Alternative option: Shamans have a new sole buff called "Windfury strikes" - similar effect to windfury totem, but no longer comes from a totem, affects ranged spells as well as auto attacks (mimicking its' Elemental Overload/Mastery effect), is a raid buff instead of a party buff and all 3 specs have it. Evokers then would fulfill Shamans spot with Mages in Elemental Guidance - this fits the necessity for evokers to have a more meaningful buff.
These changes would single handedly reduce the mandatory/locked-in raid spots for classes by half, while making useless classes, such as Shamans, just as viable as the others, while also preserving class flavothematic.Every class now has a raid buff, and each raid buff has 2 classes as their source;
Not only that, it also opens space for a (much needed) mythic raid size rework, from 20 to 10.
Waiting on the patch notes, Blizzard.
It's either this or remove raid buffs altogether, for once. (What happened to "bring the player, not the class"? Whatever, I still prefer the above rather than the current state).

2024.05.08 12:45 Purple_Clockmaker Quirky tips!

I have done this thread while back but there are seem to be many new players now so I decided to get best bits out of it update it and repost it. (Originally :What is your quirkiest tip. and Quirky tips! discussions on steam. you will find all credits there:)
Disclaimer: This is collection of strange and not obvious game mechanics and possibilities that could be helpful and fun but may not necessarily be optimal. Use at your own discretion :)
* When fighting weirdgangers and fallen heroes, after killing them the first time, you can step into the hex their body is in and pick-up their weapon so that when they come back, they are unarmed.
* If you know you're going to get ambushed, like when you take a spider contract, out your backline in the front
* You can AoE-kill friendly troops with no repercussion.
* Often the enemy approaches your battle line but stop 3-hexes away from your 2h sword bro. I will take a bro and put him in front of the 2h sword bro and use him to rotate the sword bro one hex forward. This lets the 2h sword bro move and kill on his turn.
* When fighting the corpse eating apes, use shields to push them away or step on a corpse to keep it from being eaten
* when fighting on a mountain and see an opportunity, I'll push an enemy off the edge. They lose health (depends on drop height)
* If you want to hit a specific target inside a group of adjacent enemies with your ranged units but don't have a direct line of fire, aim and shoot at an enemy one tile past your intended target in the group. When shooting gheists aim so if you miss you hit another gheist.
* Citadels often have relatively cheap ~50% damaged high tier weapons, polehammers, military cleavers etc hit really hard when you can afford them early game.
* necromancers don't walk out of the fire pot damage, and neither do the two wiedergangers that defend them. toss a fire pot and let them soak it up
* try to find a mountain village with an armourer and get them allied asap. Cheapest armour and named items
* Another tip: in a 1v1 situation going bad, dropping a wardog is a better defensive play than any perk(depends but maybe except footwork) in the game. It only costs 3ap, so you can attack or shield wall and drop the dog too. You can also drop the dog behind and rotate with it. Not only is the bro out of danger, the enemy also wouldn't be able to immediately chase them.
* Shield push top tier Nachzehrers to avoid your bros getting swallowed. If they have to move first, they can't perform Swallow Whole
* Get naked for Alps and don't forget your fishnets.
* In normal circumstances letting someone go without pay will not result in desertion. Only red faces lead to desertion.
* Tip for a late game, I have found out it recently. Take time to destroy small camps too, it helps big camps to respawn, so you can have challenge and a chance to get named items.
* during early game a hit with a spear is as deadly as a hit with a 2H axe. but spears got the better chance to hit you, so they should be the obvious choice.
* having a bro with Adrenaline and a dog in his inventory is a pretty useful way to neutralise enemy archers on turn 2. Make the guy move last, so no-one engages him in melee or targets him with arrows. Then enable Adrenaline (first before you move) and run as far as you can towards the enemy. Adrenaline allows you to move first in the following turn and even if you don't quite reach the enemy archers (you need to leave yourself 3AP to release the dog), then the dog definitely will
* Surgeon prevents your downed Bros from returning as undead.
* Get yourself a polearm specialist using a sword lance who has berserk and adrenaline. You can hit 3 targets a turn, if you kill someone you get another attack, and can adrenaline to go before the enemies next turn. It's a great way to deal a lot of damage really quickly.
* 3 headed flails are the best weapon for gheists
* For the love of your life do NOT EVER use dogs against orc berserkers unless you want to have a really bad day.
* Duellist works on throwing weapons greatly increases your damage so definitely get it.
* Fight in the arena 5 times for a +5 resolve boost. Those first 5 fights are not usually too tough and the resolve boost is solid. 12 fights give you +10 resolve instead of +5
* Very important loot drop mechanic:
Something to keep in mind when surrounding and puncturing fleeing units like Brigand Leaders, too - make sure their tile doesn't have a corpse, or make sure the bro who gets the killing blow doesn't have a corpse in his tile.
* Close in and wait for everyone to close in before dealing blows that makes you more likely to hit.
* When travelling to the town click past it until you close. clicking on towns disable on the road events apparently
*Quick draw! If a quickhand bro starts with a handgonne and a second handgonne in the inventory he can swap to the second one turn 1 and reload it. Then turn 2 when the enemy has closed he can fire twice in a turn.
* 4. If some of the enemies have ranged weapons, they assess your ranged capacity when deciding whether to rush into melee or stay back and try to shoot you. The only factor seems to be the amount of range-capable bros (their ratk, weapon tier and circumstances - e.g. nighttime -doesn't seem to matter). So:
4.1. If engaging a party with archers in the night, have some ranged bros too, especially if you plan to occupy a nice defensive position and let the enemy come to you. They don't have to shoot, they can throw consumables, destroy shields with longaxes etc. - but they must have their ranged weapons with them.
4.2. If you really want the enemy to attack even while having a vast ranged superiority, issue all your bros quivers and tier 1 bows. Naming the company "Merry Men" is optional, but will give you points for style. EDIT: for that to work your wannabe-marksmen should have at least 45 ratk, otherwise, according to Calandro they don't count as ranged units.
* Never EVER attack a riposting enemy with a three-headed flail. Each of the 3 small attacks will trigger a riposte on a miss.
* Hexen can't charm further than 8 hexes away.
* Some nice seeds I personally like to play on:
First one is best map I managed to find check it out yourself :)
Second one is particularly good for beast slayers. Good map, 3 taxidermists, towns slightly closer together give you more wilderness to explore. Good supply of lumberjacks and wildmen.
Originally posted by JCSato:
There's not an obvious, easily-linkable, and totally accurate guide to all the loot rules as far as I'm aware, but we do know how loot drops work (and why they sometimes don't) thanks to Calandro.
Armor will drop if any ONE of the following conditions is met:
The armor has at least 10 remaining durability AND is dropped by the player (i.e. a bro died with 10+ durability on his armor).
The armor has at least 30 remaining durability AND at least 25% of its max durability remaining.
The armor is a named item AND is NOT dropped by the player.
The armor is a legendary item (e.g. if a bro dies while wearing The Emperor's Armor, it will drop regardless of durability).
The armor is saved by the Northern Raiders origin bonus.
The armor is saved by the Blacksmith retinue member.
Helmets will drop if any ONE of the following conditions is met:
The helmet has at least 15 remaining durability AND is dropped by the player (i.e. a bro died with 15+ durability on his helmet).
The helmet has at least 30 remaining durability AND at least 25% of its max durability remaining AND is EITHER saved by the Northern Raiders origin bonus OR rolls 70 or less on a 1-100 roll. (i.e. only one of the origin bonus or the roll needs to pass, in addition to the durability requirements.)
The helmet is a named item AND is NOT dropped by the player.
The helmet is a legendary item (e.g. if a bro dies while wearing The Emperor's Countenance, it will drop regardless of durability).
The helmet is saved by the Blacksmith retinue member.
However, there's on additional twist, which I'm pretty sure is what you ran into - very common in wiederganger fights. As Cat mentioned, the corpse failed to spawn; if this happens, no armohelmets will drop, regardless of the above.
Corpse spawning logic is as follows (in order):
If the slain unit's tile does not already have a corpse in it, the corpse will spawn in that tile.
If there is a tile adjacent to the slain unit's that does not already have a corpse in it AND does not also have a live unit occupying it, the corpse will spawn in that tile.
Finally, if the unit that strikes the killing blow is adjacent to the slain unit AND there is not already a corpse on the killer's tile, the slain unit's corpse will spawn in the killer's tile. (This is what causes Wiedergangers to occasionally show up "underneath" your units, displacing them when they resurrect.)
If none of the above conditions are met, the corpse will not spawn and armohelmets will not drop.
And most importantly: It doesn't matter how bad bro is and how many misplaced perks or bad traits he has if you enjoy having him - he is a good bro.
Stay safe, have fun my bros!

2024.05.08 12:38 sai_gamer Endgame is horrible and starves you of resoures

This is the resource an average player will be obtaining everyday:
300 Dream Fragment [ S+ unit in 256 days] 6 Tidal Essence [+5 and max HF in 1 month] 6190 Arena Tokens [S+ unit in 11 weeks] 220 Diamonds [ can buy enough acorns to S+ unit every 57 days] 0 Acorns
From the data; lets say you like a new A grade unit and want to build her to S+. It will take you 256 days of grinding everyday to build just 1 unit to S+ which is way too long for any gacha game. Devs have to boost dream fragments to atleast 600+ if we need any chance of F2Ps using any sort of new A grade units in the future. One more problem is the Acorn Issue; even if you spend 210 diamonds for buying invite ticket; that fetches you like 1 acorn everyday and its way too low. There is no other possible way to grind any sort of acorns everyday which completely stops one's progression too. It would be ideal if game provides atleast 10 acorns every 5 arena wins to atleast grind out 40 more acorns every week to have any sort of account progression.

Do any other millennials just unmotivated and giving up on the rat race/Aussie dream? It feels like a scam unless your parents are wealthy
I am in my early 30’s and am one of those people that had a strange delusion in believing in the Aussie dream. I thought if I did well as school (graduated 3rd in my year and 99%tile grades, scholarship to uni), go to uni (did an engineering degree), was diligent and didn’t drink, so drugs or gamble I’d eventually make it.
I’m a bit of a boring soul in that all I’ve ever wanted was to have kids and be a good dad. Take my kids to sports, kick the ball with them and maybe impart the one or two things I learnt on this planet.
Instead here I am in my early 30’s and the dream seems ever so elusive and slipping through my hands. I’m married, have a good relationship with my wife. She’s a nurse, together we make a decent income, not rich, but I thought (maybe I am wrong) that a nurse and engineer couple would be classed as middle class.
We bought an apartment 5 years ago to get our foot on the ladder and in that time our apartment grew by 10% while houses around us have doubled or more. Our salaries have grown some - mainly me as there’s a shortage of good engineers but wife’s is the same.
After paying mortgage, expenses, we give 10% to charity we are able to save around 30% of all the income. It seems like a reasonable amount but the rate at which houses explode we will never get there.
Meanwhile around me I have so many friends who have wealthy parents. Some gifted between 50k - 800k and given a huge leg up.
I come home from work everyday after the long commute wondering if this is all worth it. I feel like a drone with little autonomy or direction in my life.
How and why am I already so many steps behind when I thought I was doing the right thing? Some of these friends who spent their 20’s drinking, partying and having a lower paid job just skip ahead of the line.
Life’s unfair I know, but I thought this was a country where if you have a go you get a go. It feels more like if you have the correct DNA you’ll get a go.
My parents were unskilled, dad only worked what ever job he could. He raised 4 of us in a single income. Mum was the best and made sure we had good food every meal for school and home. Now I combine my income with my wife and we couldn’t afford the humble home we grew up in. My parents have no other assets so are on the pension and live a comfortable life which I’m greatful for at least.
I’m just frustrated and wanting to vent, is there anyone else who feels the same and feels a little helpless? This malaise is something that I just can’t shake. I just don’t feel motivated to try anymore or strive for a lie I’ve been sold.
Yes I know some of you hate the whinging and I just ask this one time you be kind - would be nice to minimise the vitriol on this sub just this once. If you’ve been successful that’s great and I’m happy for you - some of us aren’t however and having a tough time handling how to manage our future.

Yes, the Bible, a foundational pillar of wisdom for millions, has profound insights on how to manage our time wisely and live more productive lives. Valuable Lessons on Time Management from the Bible

The Bible is rich with verses that provide guidance on how to use our time effectively. Let’s dive into some of these principles and learn how to apply them in our lives:

Boosting Productivity with Biblical Wisdom

Alongside time management, the Bible offers incredible insights into being productive with the time we have. Here are some biblical tips to enhance your productivity:
  1. Eliminate Distractions: Proverbs 4:25-27 encourages us, “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” This teaches us the importance of focus and avoiding distractions that derail our progress.
  2. Work Diligently: Colossians 3:23 tells us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This inspires us to put our best effort into our tasks, regardless of who we’re working for.
  3. Seek Wisdom and Guidance: James 1:5 promises, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” This reminds us that divine guidance is always available to help us overcome challenges and make wise decisions.

Conclusion: Making Every Moment Count

In the journey of life, managing our time effectively and being productive are invaluable skills that lead to fulfillment and success. The Bible, with its profound wisdom on these topics, offers us a blueprint to navigate our days with purpose and intention. By embracing these biblical principles, we can transform our approach to time management and productivity, achieving a balanced and enriching life.
So, let’s challenge ourselves to apply these timeless teachings to our modern lives. Whether it’s by planning ahead, setting the right priorities, or focusing on our tasks, remember, the goal is not just to be busy, but to be productive in what matters most.

2024.05.08 12:22 Maze2475 First Trip to Japan - Is my research accurate + Final Questions?

Hi everyone,
Planning my first trip to Japan. I've been a regular follower of this subreddit + a few others related to Japan and have gathered a fair bit of info. I'm hoping the experienced folks here can help me validate things + answer a few final questions.
I'll be in Tokyo for 10 days + 5 days in Kansai.
I'm not keeping a fixed itinerary as I like to walk a lot and explore towns.
Here's a TL;DR of my questions:
Converting my USD to JPY - Airport or Within the City?
Disclaimer - Not a US Citizen. I'm from the Maldives where my debit card has a $700 monthly cap. Hence, I'm largely carrying USD in cash to cover expenses on this trip.
Generally in most countries, the rule is never to exchange cash at the airport. But I heard the rates of money changers within the city and Naria airport are the same. Do you know if this is true?
Food budget - 6500 yen per day enough?
I'm a bit of a heavy eater. But I've roughly budgeted for:
Edit: I set these figures after looking at prices of conbini's and restaurants on UberEats.
I'm not looking at Michelin-starred meals or fancy sushi. But I'd like to look at a typical restaurant or cafe, walk in and not worry at all about having to pay for a meal.
Tokyo Transportation - Suica vs Tokyo Subway Pass?
A lot of this sub and others swear by getting a Suica or Pasmo IC card.
But I also noticed the 72-hour Tokyo Subway Pass.
A benefit I'm seeing is that it allows me to set my transport costs in Tokyo to $30.
The big questions I have on this are:
Internet - Possible to get a Portable Wifi at the airport with cash?
I've settled on Japan Wireless for portable wifi.
Unfortunately, my phone doesn't support eSIMs which are cheaper.
But Japan Wireless on their website is asking to pre-pay before arrival.
This puts a strain on my debit card's monthly limit.
Hence, I'm wondering if there's a to buy portable wifi at Narita Airport with cash?
If so that makes my life partially easier.
Kyoto Transportation - Is there a worthwhile pass or better to rely on IC cards?
So the Kansai leg of my trip involves travelling between Kyoto and Osaka.
I found the Kansai Subway and Bus Pass.
But the price is quite steep as for 5 days it costs 5500 yen - compared to 4552 yen with the Tokyo Subway Pass.
I'm still looking around but is there an affordable pass I can consider for this leg of the trip?
That's the immediate stuff I'm worrying about
If there's any other tips you're generously willing to share with a First Timer I'd appreciate it! Thank you!
