Juvenile informants & falsified mental health records in Alamance County?
It is believed that the Alamance County Sheriff's Office Student Resource Officer has solicited a 13yo child who was setup by a relative of the SRO's coworker for personal nefarious reasons. This child & their sibling was contacted & groomed by a pedophile. It is believed that the 2 children were targeted as they were the children of 2 terminally ill parents with little to no family support. One of the children who were groomed was charged while Alamance County deputies didn't bother charging the pedophile. Another ACSO deputy then presented falsified mental health records for a place that doesn't exist by the name of "NC A&T university Outpatient Services." However, "NC A&T university Outpatient Services" does NOT exist. NC A&T University does provides basic counseling services for ENROLLED college students only, not minor children. On these falsified mental health records the ACSO deputy had also checked the box for a group home or out of home placement which was never mentioned at any other point & it is believed that they were trying to sneak this in under the judge because once a judge signs it it is as good as done. Please contact me if your child has been in a similar situation.
***Please note that the Alamance Burlington School System does NOT prohibit the solicitation of minor children as juvenile confidential informants in the Alamance County Sheriff's Office Memorandum of Understanding.
There is also a video recording of the Alamance County employee threatening the child & parent with the falsified documents. It should also be noted that at the same time this family was threatened with these falsified documents that an individual presented "fraudulent" zoning documents to the City of Burlington per an Alamance News article published less than a month from the date of the meeting.

2024.05.19 03:21 Key-Signal-4015 Some of my opinions and theories about TS as a former fan. Because this is the only sub I can post them.

I wasn’t a hardcore fan back then, but I definitely listened to her songs everyday, bought merch, got tour tickets…stopped being a fan after the whole Matty thing.
Just my theory and opinions here.
I think she did love her relationship with Joe, they did have great years. Then who knows what, probably the reconnected back with Matty, the new rush made her feel like “that’s what I really want! My soulmate!”, she was probably over Joe right away.
It’s disgusting to me that, even though she’s the one moved on right away, she still had to “win” this breakup. Had all her friends unfollow Joe, all those acting moments during the tour, happily enabling fans to attack her ex.
Then MH is over then Travis arrived. Like many said before, she likes the feeling of in love. I think she doesn’t know that part anymore, surrounded by yes men, ass kissing “friends”, even there’s love it’s not as attractive as being worshipped. After all, love comes with honesty and equality.
But one thing she knows is hate. She holds a grudge so long, even people like me (I consider myself hard to let things go) are weird out by her.
A friend of mine once said, “yeah I know she’s popular she’s pretty, but I feel like there’s nothing real about her, like, what does she actually enjoy doing?”
TTPD is so boring. Big words don’t mean poems. Big words sad vibe talking about some guy, always about guys, my god there are more than just men in this world. Always the victim, never the “maybe I am somewhat responsible”. Idk, it’s not very relatable when a billionaire white woman talks about things.
Also fans comparing her influence with Beatles and MJ. People can immediately all go “na-na-na-na-na” with Hey Jude, Thriller plays during Halloween and crowds feel it right away. That’s influence. I’ve been to many events/parties, when a crowd is mixed with all different ages, songs like Dancing Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody play, everyone just join, it’s like a spell lol.
One more thing, it’s funny how she sings about men missing their chance to true love by not staying with her…come on…

2024.05.18 15:25 zigmint “Isn’t It a Pity” uses the “Hey Jude” chant - is this intentional?

was listening to it again, and at around 5:55 I noticed the backing vocals sound exactly like the hey Jude chanting in the background but in a different key. Why did George Harrison copy the Beatles?
To Clarify; I’m relatively new to this so if this is like a commonly known thing, my bad lol

2024.05.18 02:35 Just-Phill What song do you think shines as vocal Talent?

I personally love the ones that has Johns voice screaming like the Twist & Shout or Rain has his raspy style, the beginning of Mr. Moonlight, also like his vocals. Paul has that voice though "Michelle" might be my fav Paul vocal but Yesterday, Follow the Sun, Hey Jude, And he also does a great job channeling his raspiness in their version of Kansas City Hey Hey Hey.. it's almost impossible to choose and all subjective but I'm just curious what people think are the top vocal performances.

2024.05.17 23:20 kingofstormandfire This the Top 6 singles of 1968 according to Billboard year-end list. Which one is your favourite?

In the end, it wasn’t even close. It came between The Monkees and The Doors, who both scored the vast majority of the votes. Turns out, The Doors lit a greater fire underneath the members of Toddintheshadow’s subreddit as “Light My Fire” won over “I’m a Believer”.
1) “Hey Jude” (The Beatles) https://youtu.be/mQER0A0ej0M?si=IOOOxQKLgBvM2mRg
This highly obscure Beatles song spent a measly nine weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. Written primarily by Paul McCartney, "Hey Jude" was a global number-one hit, topping charts in the UK, US, Australia, and Canada. It tied the 1968 record for the longest Billboard Hot 100 number-one run at nine weeks—a record it held for nine years until Debby Boone (an artist Todd has covered) beat it with “You Light Up My Life”. Notably, at over seven minutes, it was the longest single to top the US charts at the time. The song, which has sold around eight million copies, ranks among the greatest songs ever on many critics' lists. Originally titled "Hey Jules," McCartney wrote it to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' breakup. The lyrics promote a positive outlook and encourage finding love. The song culminates in a four-minute "Na-na-na na" coda.
Yeah, so I’m pretty confident this is winning the poll. It’s only real competition is what’s at No. 4.
2) “Love is Blue” (Paul Mauriat) https://youtu.be/Y_tPE3o5NWk?si=2IMt4M_4usRP46iE
"L'amour est bleu" (or in English, "Love Is Blue") is a song whose music was composed by André Popp, and whose lyrics were written by Pierre Cour, First performed in French by Greek singer Vicky Leandros (appearing as Vicky) as the Luxembourgish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967, it has since been recorded by many other musicians, most notably in this case by French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat, whose instrumental version (recorded in late 1967) became the first number-one hit by a French lead artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, spending five weeks at the top. I would go into the lyrics, but this version doesn’t have lyrics. It remained the only French song to top the chart until 2017, when Daft Punk was a featured artist on The Weeknd's number-one hit "Starboy".
This is a very cool easy listening instrumental. It has a baroque pop influence to it no doubt influenced by what was happening in contemporary music. I like this song.
3) “Honey” (Bobby Goldsboro) https://youtu.be/rZiEY3O-FWk?si=ONNbUmykbmPwiM2t
"Honey" is a song written by Bobby Russell. He first produced it with former Kingston Trio member Bob Shane, who was the first to release the song. It was then given to American singer Bobby Goldsboro, who recorded it for his 1968 album of the same name, originally titled Pledge of Love. In the song, the narrator mourns his absent wife, and the song begins with him looking at a tree in their garden, remembering how "it was just a twig" on the day she planted it. Only in the third verse is it finally revealed that "one day...the angels came," and that his wife had died. Goldsboro's version was a hit, reaching No. 1 in several countries, including the US, spending five weeks at the top (it was the 200th to reach No. 1).
Oh man, this song sucks. It’s so schlocky and stupid. Unfortunately, it was indicative of the type of schlock that would top the charts in the uncool 70s. It is widely considered one of the worst songs to ever top the charts, and I agree.
4) "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" (Otis Redding) https://youtu.be/7C-VscEQugk?si=OiSQuUQVuZg6kloj
A posthumous No. 1 for soul legend Otis Redding, it was co-written by Redding and guitarist Steve Cropper. Redding recorded it twice in 1967, including just three days before his death in a plane crash on December 10, 1967. The lyrics convey a sense of resignation and the calm acceptance of life's struggles, with the singer watching the ships roll in and then roll away again. Redding considered the song unfinished, and planned to record what he considered a final version, but never got the chance. It was released on Stax Records' Volt label in 1968, becoming the first posthumous #1 single in the US.
If this was the unfinished version, then holy cow, what would the final version sound like? Absolutely amazing song. It gets my vote.
5) “People Got to Be Free” (The Rascals) https://youtu.be/PGUhdwTyziM?si=aVORpZSy0bG2auOb
"People Got to Be Free," The Rascals' third and final US No. 1 hit, was penned by band members Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, with Cavaliere on lead vocals. This upbeat yet passionate song calls for tolerance and freedom. Released during the turbulent summer of 1968, it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, marking the group's longest run at number one. Although some linked the song to the 1968 assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy It was actually recorded before Kennedy's death and was inspired by a hostile incident where the group, sporting beards and long hair, faced threats from locals after their tour vehicle broke down in Fort Pierce, Florida.
I love The Rascals (or Young Rascals as they were formerly known). Great band. The best band to fuse soul and rock. And this is a great protest song.
6) “Sunshine of Your Love” (Cream) https://youtu.be/y_u1eu6Lpds?si=-eyy704gRCjLo4tJ
This 1967 song by Cream was written by Pete Brown and Cream members Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, the latter of which is everyone’s favourite boomer (Bruce and Clapton wrote the music; Brown the lyrics). It had two chart runs in the US. Originally, it peaked at No. 36 on the Hot 100 in late-1967, but a re-release in mid-1968 saw it reach No. 5 on the Hot 100. With elements of hard rock and psychedelia, it is one of Cream's best known and most popular songs, and features one of the most iconic guitar riffs of the 1960s. It is one of the most acclaimed and enduring songs of the psychedelic era.
Although Clapton is an asshole, you can’t deny his guitar playing, at least back then. Damn, this is a great song. What a riff. The guitar work is so catchy and cool.
Rounding out the Top 10 is “This Guy’s in Love With You” (Herb Alpert) (No. 7), “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (Hugo Montenegro) (No. 8), “Mrs. Robinson” (Simon & Garfunkel) (No. 9) and “Tighten Up” (Archie Bell and the Drells) (No. 10)

2024.05.17 20:41 pinkfloob Best Pieces for Beginners to Practice Reading Sheet Music?

Hi everyone,
I've been learning piano for about a month now and I've reached a point where I feel comfortable with finding all the notes on the piano. So far, I've learned to play pieces like Prelude in C and I'm halfway through the Goldberg Variations using Synthesia. I've also managed to play "Hey Jude" and "Don't Stop Believin'" with the help of Synthesia.
Now, I want to move on to reading sheet music to learn the proper way. I know what all the notes are on the sheet music lines, but I'm not sure about all the different variations, like the notes that aren't filled in, and all of the detail markers and symbols. Could you recommend some good beginner pieces that are great for practicing reading sheet music? I'm looking for pieces that aren't too difficult but will help me improve my sight-reading skills.
Additionally, does anyone have any good resources that explain all the details and symbols on sheet music?
P.S. Any tips for transitioning from Synthesia to sheet music would be greatly appreciated as well!

2024.05.17 14:39 SadhaPR Quintessential Brit songs to perform?

International student here at Newcastle Uni, about to graduate this July. I want to do something out of my comfort zone before I leave, and I want to perform on stage (maybe a gig, at a pub, anywhere really). I've never been in a band before, but I play guitar (I went to the uni's music society, but nothing substantial came to fruition).
I'm wondering what are some truly "Brit" songs are - songs that aren't worldwide hits, but are more specific to Brits only. Right now, my list really consists of just "worldwide hits that are essentially British" - Mr. Brightside, Bohemian Rhapsody, Hey Jude, 500 Miles, Another Love, etc.
All that I have I feel are more focused towards Brits are Declan McKenna and Sam Fender, I've only really heard of their music from Brits, and not anyone else. So I'll be performing Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under (Sam Fender), and Brazil, British Bombs, and the Key to Life on Earth (Declan McKenna).
Need more recommendations, please! And additionally, if anyone knows a good place in Newcastle or the Tyneside area to play at (solo or otherwise, since I don't have a band to play with), please write it down as well!

2024.05.16 07:39 Slow-Painting-8112 Song with a killer ending

I'm looking for music that is at least a pretty good song thet ends with some kind of unexpectedly wild twist, preferably that goes on for a long time. Could be a killer guitar solo, a psychedelic freakout, a wicked groove, some bongo madness, even a spoken word if it works. Any genre.
Hey Jude is probably the golden standard. If you can wait about eight minutes, Pat Metheny comes in like monster on this one.

2024.05.15 21:48 Ok_Boysenberry_5371 I'm not quite sure why so many people disagree on what mix is.

First of all; I am not a professional, I'm just really interested in the topic of vocology and how the voice works in a scientific manner.
Secondly; there's two terms that someone called "made-up" when I used them, so I'm just going to list them here so you can read back here when I mention them if you don't understand.
M1 (Mechanism 1) = Modal/Chest Voice M2 (Mechanism 2) = Head Voice/Falsetto
Okay, so I was having a conversation with someone about voice classification, when it steered into mix due to a comment I made about how someone thought chest and head voice could blend together. While I do understand why this is thought by some people who are interested in the voice, I'm not really sure why it's a common theory.
M1 is characterised by a few features; thicker folds, longer vertical phase difference, higher closed quotient and higher subglottal pressure.
M2 is characterised mostly by the opposite features to M1; thinner folds, a shorter vertical phase difference etc.
Jean Tarneaud describes singing as "the vibration of the vocal folds impresses periodic shakes on the laryngeal cartilage which transmits them to the bones in the thorax via the laryngeal depressors, and to the bony structures in the head via the laryngeal elevators. Singers feel these shakes in the form of thoracic and facial vibrations".
In Tarneaud's explanation of singing, M1 is referred to as transmitting vibrations to the thorax via laryngeal depressors, while M2 is referred to as transmitting vibrations to the bones in the head via laryngeal elevators.
My main argument towards this topic is that M1 and M2 are essentially opposite physiological phenomena of the voice, and as such cannot be used at the same time.
The mix registers that are available to a singer are Mx1 and Mx2. Mx1 most commonly starts where tracheal resonance forces the thinning of the voice. For example; in sopranos this area will be D4-G4(B4). Mx1 is at its core a thinner version of M1, most commonly seen during belting, and can be done heavily, neutrally, or lightly. It can also be used through curb or edge. Mx2 is more of a complicated mix register, as it is M2, but more compressed, with proper cord connection. Twang is also used to create the sound most commonly heard in Mx2. Most singers will use this to hit notes that they couldn't usually hit in M1 or Mx1, such as Darren Criss's Bb5 in Hey Jude, Amber Riley's C6 in Jump, and Zhou Lizhen's usage of Mx2 up to the middle 6th octave. However, Mx1 can also be used to hit these notes, such as Lashun Pace having a C#6 that can debatably be called Mx1.
If anyone could comment on this subject, or give me other resources that I can look into on this subject, I'd appreciate it alot. Thank you for reading!

2024.05.15 06:56 kirky861 Source for original UK single covers

Hey folks, I'm trying to work on my personal music collection online and I have several songs that are only featured on a 7" single and didn't come from a studio album (e.g. "Hey Jude").
I want to add cover artwork to those releases, but I can't find official cover art for these singles (preferably in HQ).
Can anyone point me to a reputable source that has the single sleeve artwork for the UK version of Beatles singles? That would be really helpful, thanks.

Looking for Aus based drives to join my friends and I in a gt4 Aston for the n24
Hey guys, I’ve got 4 people so far, looking for a driver or two more to race along with us in the n24. I believe we can run more than 4 drivers so wanting to reduce the length of stints if possible. We’re not super competitive just looking to have some fun and finish lol. I didn’t know where else to look so I thought I’d try my luck here. I’ve been on iracing for around 2 months now, I consider myself decent enough although my irating might not reflect that just yet as I spent a decent amount of time farming safety rating. None the less my iracing account is Jude Welch if you want to look over my account. Nothing special. Please PM me or reply to this if you are interested, we’re in Queensland looking to do the 7am start on Saturday. We’ll organise stints once we have a team of 5 +. We’re pretty flexible and relaxed. Cheers guys, any other question just message me. Thanks again.

2024.05.14 19:00 pinkfloob How Can I Learn Jazz Piano?

Hey everyone,
I've been learning piano for a little over a month now, and I've been making pretty fast progress. So far, I can play pieces like Bach's Prelude in C, Hey Jude, Don't Stop Believin', and about half of the Goldberg Variations Aria. Currently, I'm learning the Charlie Brown theme song.
I've been using Synthesia tutorials to speed up my progress initially, as I wanted to focus on learning some songs without spending too much time on sheet music. But now, I want to dive deeper into jazz.
Here are a few questions I have:
  1. Did jazz musicians traditionally use sheet music at all? Or did they rely more on improvisation/learning by ear or people just telling them the notes?
  2. How can I get better at improvising and learn more jazz theory?
  3. Does anyone know of any good resources, tips, or exercises to improve my jazz piano skills?
  4. Can you suggest any jazz songs that are good for beginners to learn?
A bit more about me: I play in a band with my friends (not a jazz band), and I've been playing songs like Don't Stop Believin' and Hey Jude with them. I'm pretty good at keeping in tempo and playing with everyone. I've also been playing guitar for a few years, which has probably helped with my piano progress, but I don't know much theory.
For context, some of my favorite jazz pianists are Bill Evans, Red Garland, and Thelonious Monk. I really love their styles and would love to emulate some of their techniques.
Thanks in advance for your help!
