Allow me to lay the fkd context. This info may answer questions you may need answered before you are able to appropriately navigate my salvation.
One ridiculous hypothetical scenario: RN is off duty, out w/ friends, EMS called > Narcan WRONGFULLY admin > occurs in TN, the same state in which she is currently employed; Is licensed in MS (a Compact State). No arrest, No charges. A PD report stating suspected OD. Sent to ER; No tox screen; Requests discharge; END OF EVENT.
The RN's position of the "facts" : There was no OD, regardless of who called 911 or what they may have thought or stated to get an ambulance there. There is NO evidence of intoxication, as their physical status could have been attributed to countless a diagnosis. States she was coherent and talking with the EMT prior to the Narcan admin; claims she verbally made EMT aware Narcan is contraindicated to a CONSCIOUS person, as she was NOT on any substance that would indicate the need of Naloxone/Narcan. Herself, being an RN, was qualified to make an informed decision. EMT administered anyway, RN stated that there was ZERO improvement in her condition, as she knew there would not be.
This may have been a decent argument, easy enough to explain to the TN Board of Nursing, who called upon RN for a Disciplinary Hearing- Privilege to Practice in jeopardy. HOWEVER, when the RN returned from a travel contract job out of state to her home, she found the letter informing her of this hearing ON THE DAY IT WAS SCHEDULED. She drove like a bat out of hell to TN BON; She arrived only 15 min after 5pm that day. She stayed the night in a hotel, where the next a.m. she was told TOO LATE. FINAL ORDER. By being absent, she forfeited her right to be heard/defend herself and the order has already been filed. But, not to worry terribly, bc she only lost her Privilege to Practice in TN, nothing had happened to her actual Nursing license.
FF to MS BON Hearing.... Not bc they heard or knew anything about EMS or ODosing- BC they were notified when she lost her priv to practice in a diff state. So, another hearing. RN goes to this one- She gives her defense. She was a nervous fkn mess, but in the end the MSBON orders: her to pay a fine, do some classes, some mental/phys eval, etc... ton of stuff that cost a ton of money. This hearing took place over ZOOM in the SLAM BAM middle of the COVID quarantine.
She didnt do it. ANy of it. So, of course, when they go to eval it a year later, she repsnded talking w/ them a few times about deadlines, extra time, ect- they dont budge, instead, slap her w/ another displ action: FRAUD. (Bc she agreed to do all that stuff by a certain date and didnt).
Short version/TLDR: Rn got wrongfully narcanned by EMS; lost priv to prac in a state bc she missed hearing; her home state board of nursing does a discplnry action on her due to loss of priv to prac- orders her to do a bunch of crap she didnt do in time, slap her w/ another discp action (fraud) for it. now, its been 3 years and she wants to get this shit straight.
The official standing of her license does NOT say REVOKED, it says, " ADMIN INACTIVE" & "Suspended"
Is it administratively eligible (by NPA laws) to do the things she was ordered to do and request new hearing? Past appeal date, any way circt court might just hear all this and order reinstatement, overriding the MSBONs final orders? (that ever happen to anyone successfully?)
fix the TN priv. to prac revoke before fixing MSBON licensure? or does that matter, procedurally?

The accrediting body for programs is the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and a current list of programs may be found by going to this page, selecting “Profession” and choosing “Perfusion.” Unfortunately, this does not include programs that are defunct or programs that are undergoing the preliminary accreditation process. All schools require an undergraduate degree before entry regardless of outcome: degree or certificate.

Common Questions About the Application Process

 
Is it competitive?
The application process is extremely competitive. Schools are typically receiving several hundred applications and most take 20 or fewer students.
When does the application cycle begin?
The application cycle is different for each school, but typically start as early as June 1 for start dates the following year.
That means that for the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year, applications will begin opening on June 1, 2024.
When do applications close?
Again, each program will be different. Some programs close earlier than others. Some programs have processes that take awhile to complete, so it is advisable to complete your application before the process closes.
Which school should I apply to?
You should apply to every school you're qualified for.
What prerequisites are required for perfusion school?
Each of the programs have different requirements. Contacting each of the programs with program specific questions is going to result in much more accurate answers than asking here. Programs can and do change requirements on an ongoing basis.
Nearly all programs require at least a documented conversation with a perfusionist or shadowing a case as part of the application process.
How do I find a perfusionist to shadow?
LinkedIn is your best resource. You may also post a request for a specific geographical area using the flair “Shadow Request.” You can also try contacting hospitals that do open heart surgery and arranging to shadow a perfusionist.
What kind of work experience is useful when applying to perfusion school?
Perfusion assistant jobs are sometimes referred to as a “golden ticket” for admission to a school. Many schools seem to value healthcare experience, through what type varies from school to school. Traditionally, RNs with critical care or operating room experience and respiratory techs seem to have a high degree of success. Other perfusion / OR adjacent jobs like anesthesia techs also seem to correlate with higher acceptance rates. As the application process becomes more competitive, it may be worth reaching out to current students to see what class make ups look like or Program Directors to see what advice they may give. Unfortunately, the application process is a “black box” and each institution has different qualities, traits, and experience they seem to value.
What are my chances of getting into School X? / Should I apply this year or wait until I have more experience?
No one knows. Your chances of getting into a school that you haven't applied to are zero. Contact the program for specific questions and guidance about your situation. The application process is a "black box" process with only the Program Directors and Admissions Council Members knowing how they work and what they are looking for in the current cohort. If you have specific questions about feedback you have received, feel free to ask them. Generic "what if" questions have a low likelihood of being approved in this subreddit.

I went through Quit Mormon and removed my name from records. Quit Mormon even sent me via email a “certificate.” Well, my names not removed, at all. I can still login to the ward directory and can still see my name and records on the directory (date baptized, record number, etc). An old lady from church did her duty and dropped off a treat from the church the other day. I accepted it and said thanks. But it appears nothing has changed. Nothing. Either Quit Mormon is a failed project or something. But the question is, how do I get my name permanently removed from church records? What else can I do? I just want out. I’m so frustrated and I feel trapped. I don’t want old widows having to walk around and for FREE be the church’s free labor to bring me a .25 cent gift from a greedy corrupt business that I detest. Please, how can I get off the records besides Quit Mormon? I think it’s broken (yes, it was notorized and everything.) What do I do now?

So there's no tax at all on employer pension contributions, whereas personal contributions attract PRSI and USC. There's also no age-based contribution limit on employer contributions.
2 questions
1) Why don't companies offer a salary sacrifice arrangement to increase the employer contribution? This would effectively allow employees to make unlimited contributions tax-free.
2) My wife is a contractor with a limited company. Is there any reason we shouldn't channel our resources to put most of our contributions through hers to avail of the benefit?

Seeking high-level employment law advice before retaining my own attorney (which I will likely do).
I'm currently in a very odd "employment" situation. The company ran out of money last year and I haven't been paid at all in 2024. I tried to resign (for various reasons including finances) and was told that my resignation wasn't accepted. I was very shaken by the threats to "ruin" me if I didn't keep working (for no pay) so just...kept doing the work that was assigned to me. (I would really, really appreciate if everyone could be kind and not call me stupid for doing this. I know this isn't right, but he boss is someone I have known for many years and who has, in fact, "ruined" people professionally, just out of spite.)
It isn't possible for me to keep working full-time (or at all) for no money. I informed the boss of this and he threatened to sue me for "breach of fiduciary duty" if I don't keep working (for free, indefinitely), saying customer relationships will be irreparably damaged. (He threatened, specifically, to find past instances of mistakes I made, during the time that I had been paid, to demonstrate how I had damaged the company.)
I know I likely just need to inform him I'm not doing any more work, lawyer up, and not communicate with him directly anymore. But I'm wondering if, based on what I have said here, he would in fact have any potential cause to sue me for "breach of fiduciary duty"? Are such lawsuits - employer against employee - relatively common and/or ever successful? Is there any obligation that I would have, as an "employee," even if I haven't been paid in a long time?
I'm in the US in a major metropolitan area (reluctant to give more specific location details). I am a regular W-2 employee (or at least I was - I don't know how I'm classified when doing "volunteer" work for months). Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.

Hey,
I am posting this as I have not found any information online yet regarding this situation with the Colombian Digital Nomad Visa.
As the Colombia Digital Nomad visa holders know, when you apply for the visa you need a letter from your employer indicating your employment, salary and that you work remotely.
If you change jobs DURING the time you have your visa, the visa will be no longer valid. The visa is tied to your employment with the company that you used when you received the visa. As soon as that work situation changes, your visa is no longer valid.
I received the digital nomad a year ago, and shortly after, a new opportunity came up and I changed jobs. I did not know that I had to talk to Colombian immigration about this job change.
I am currently in the process of re-applying for the digital nomad visa. When they found out I was applying for the visa with a letter from a new employer, they asked me when my work relationship ended with the first company. When I provided this information, they informed me that my visa had been revoked since the day I changed jobs.
It makes complete sense in hindsight that your visa is tied to the company that you used when you received it. It slipped my mind however to update immigration, and right now it is not certain if I will receive the visa again.
I've had to use a lawyer to help me with this process, we've provided a ton of documents, and I've had to attend an appointment at the immigration office (usually this visa process is all online). It's been about 1.5 months of back and forth in total getting this figured out.
I should know this week whether or not I will get the visa or have to leave Colombia. I'll provide an update for you guys.

She likes to wear long dark clothes, has multiple piercings in both ears + one on her lower lip, and (‘though not directly seen in the main series yet?) has a split tongue [s12]. It feels likely that her habit of sometimes covering her mouth with her sleeve when speaking is to hide her tongue. She appears to be left-handed, which is easiest to see in how she holds her chopsticks in the anime [ep8].
It has long been noticed by fans that PA-san and Seika both wear a black choker almost all the time. It is unknown if there is a deeper reason for this or if it is just a coincidence. For what it is worth, we don’t see either of them wearing a choker in any of the flashbacks we’ve gotten so it does seem be a relatively recent addition to their fashion. That being said, their chokers aren’t exactly matching. PA-san’s sometimes has a ring attached to its front; in the manga Seika’s is consistently a bit thinner than PA-san’s while in the anime it just a bit lighter in color instead. It can also be noted there are also several other characters who wear chokers, most notably SIDEROS’s Tsuki (always) and Akubi (sometimes) [27]. Even Nijika and Kita’s outfits sometimes include one.
Personal life: Her exact age is unknown but she relates well with the other adults in their late 20's/early 30's. As a child she was quite active and sporty [75] but she ended up failing out of high school in her first year due to not being able to wake up early in the mornings. Even now this is hard for her to do which is why she likes night jobs [26]. Being low energy in general, PA-san is perhaps the least active of the main adult trio, preferring to simply observe the amusing antics going on around her. Along with Seika and Hiroi, she feels detached from normal adult society and is somewhat envious of the youthful girls. PA-san is especially self-conscious about her skin condition [26, s4]. She lives alone and is pretty lonely [38]. Outside of working at STARRY, she also livestreams playing video games as a VTuber under the name Otogi Alto (音戯アルト; the kanji for Otogi might be read literally as “sound-play”) [39]. Through that identity she became good online pals with SICKHACK’s Eliza as her oshi [s12]. Although PA-san comes off as the gentlest and most stable of the adults, she is able to be quite ruthless with a smile [24] and is just as capable of mood swings as the others.
STARRY: PA-san is the most trusted (and apparently only other adult) member of Seika’s staff. At the start of the series STARRY had opened up just “recently” so it seems likely PA-san has been employed there from the very beginning [1]. PA-san’s role as the… well… PA means she has perhaps the most technical job. But beyond that she backs up Seika by stepping in when any troubles arise (like when Yami was stirring things up) [23-4] and interpreting her tsundere-speak [ep5]. PA-san seems to find great amusement in observing Seika. She shows little fear towards her employer, regularly poking her about her soft spot for Nijika/Bocchi/Kessoku Band, calling her out on irrational behavior, and able to go as far as smashing a cake in her face without much hesitation [40].
In saying all of this, they do not really show obvious signs of being close outside of a professional relationship. It seems unlikely they knew each other before Seika hired her seeing how Seika didn’t learn of PA-san’s childhood until recently [75] and PA-san likewise hasn’t shown familiarity with Seika’s past. It is even technically unconfirmed if Seika herself remembers PA-san’s real name. As her employer Seika HAS to know PA-san’s name to some extent but we’ve never seen her use it. At the same time, Seika has also doesn't call her “PA-san” like the others, instead seemingly only using impersonal pronouns. There is a point in the manga where Seika could be calling her “PA-san” [26], but in context I think it is Kikuri speaking. In the end, it seems likely that Seika really does know her name and would use it rather than calling her "PA-san" but is too gruff to ever do so. On her part, PA-san similarly only ever calls Seika “Manager”, something Seika insists on even with her sister.
Various anime differences:
PA-san must've been pretty well liked by the anime staff because she was actually given several additional appearances and small interactions in the anime, which mostly solidify her identity as Seika’s shadow. Then in general, PA-san is always wearing a choker unlike in the manga where there are a few times she isn’t wearing it even at STARRY and, like Bocchi, her body’s proportions were made much more subdued in the anime's art style.

• OP: She appears in three places: 1) Standing behind Seika waving her arm. 2) In the background of (1) they seem to be back-to-back as her pierced ear and dark hair can be briefly seen before Seika and her gaze completely takes over the screen. 3) Standing near Seika at STARRY’s bar.
• Ep2: While Seika is watching Nijika freak out over Bocchi, PA-san mentions to her it looks like things will be fun with Bocchi around.
• Ep3: PA-san smells then compliments Kita on her shampoo.
• Ep5: PA-san stops looking at her phone to observe the Ijichi sibling drama. When Ryo shows Seika the picture of her sleeping with a stuffed animal, PA-san slinks up behind them to take a look herself and calls it cute. She giggles at Bocchi acting like a dog. PA-san watches Kessoku Band’s audition along with Seika and translates her tsundere-speech for them.
• Ep8: PA-san joins in the afterparty where she can be seen quietly drinking some kind of purple beverage next to Seika. Her one line is disagreeing with Seika that rather than Bocchi’s weird faces being scary they have got personality.
• Ep12: As her final appearance, PA-san seems to sense Seika getting excited about Bocchi’s surprise birthday present.

Despite the many additions, there were also a few appearances in the manga that did not make it into the anime.

• Ep8: Many of the teru teru bouzu Bocchi had made were really quite terrifying, so upon first entering STARRY, PA-san asks Seika when she had turned the place into a haunted house [12].
• Ep9: We see Nijika talking music and food with PA-san [14]. Along with most of the rest of this chapter about the girls studying for exams, the adults displaying their uselessness in helping the girls study got cut [16].

[Shipping discussion. Feel free to ignore.] I personally like the PA/Seika ship. They are almost always seen together, have interesting chemistry, are otherwise single, and – coincidence or not – their chokers are really hard to ignore. This sounds good enough to me, especially for a Kirara series. Seika does have other ships that fans support (Bocchi or Kikuri seem to be the other most common) but both of them have other good ships of their own while for PA-san it is basically just Seika, so I just naturally gravitate towards this pairing. But I freely admit there isn’t anything concrete in the series to suggest they’re much more than employeemployee with a good relationship. If they ARE in a relationship then they're doing a good job hiding it considering how even little-sis Nijika doesn't seem to suspect anything. They did have a VERY shippy chapter-art together [75], but the same happened with Bocchi/Ohtsuki [40] (among many others) and it might be best to just treat all of the artworks as the simple references they are.

After long wait, I already got email and text confirmation on 05/06 saying Thank you for your patience. We have determined that your unemployment insurance (UI) claim can now be paid. Shortly after you applied for UI benefits, we mailed you a determination letter with information about your weekly benefit rate. Same day a line item of saying $0 Type : Waiting week for week ending 04/07 appeared on the online portal. Claim start date is 04/01/2024. Release date is 05/06 for the Waiting Week ending 04/07. Since then not even a peep. I had also got determination letter via mail saying the amount I will be getting. Also, the online portal is showing the Release date. The UI seems to have been approved. Only problem is nothing seems to be happening since the Waiting Week Period.
After this message of approval I was hopeful of getting payments. But since then I did not get any more lines in the Payment History page in the online portal besides Waiting Week. I'm trying to call them but it has been impossible to get through. 'When did you guys receive first payment after getting that kind of message? Is there any way to see my certification history? Maybe because I did not certify for some week in the past by mistake because I did the filing via phone. Getting restless here. Also, not sure how backpay works. My claim start day is 04/01/2024.

Thinking of changing "Skills" to Systems or adding stuff like compliance, labor law etc from my "intro", need to work some on my bullet points - but quantifying stuff isn't my strong side. Also aware that my current job bullet points are written in paste tense, going to change it.

Next, you need to try to pin down the EXACT CAUSE for the violation reason. So, if you got a trademark infringement violation, what exactly in your video triggered this? If you got an unoriginal content violation, what exactly in your video triggered this? You need to pin this down, to even have a shot at appealing.

Hello all, first time poster here. Don't currently have a set goal in mind for RE, but have just been trying to save as much possible while still being reasonably spendy with friends and on a vacation every now and then. Genuinely haven't really thought much about how i'm doing, and I know everyone has a different goal/standard for doing well, but would like to see if there's anything I could be doing differently with my current situation. 401k (mostly traditional, Roth started this year): $190k investing max limit of $23k + 9% employer match
Home equity: ~$165k Current mortgage remaining: $183k at 2.875% (~4 years into 30 yr fixed)
Roth IRA: $63k Investing max limit into Roth IRA each year, moving towards investing into ETFs more Mostly FAANG and ETFs/Funds (VGT, QQQ, QQQM, VOO, MGK)

Therefore, if I ever decided to suddenly risk prison time, risk my reputation, and risk enduring the wrath of modern-day “cancel culture” by scamming people out of their money:

• I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
• I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.

Hello guys, I have moved to Canada since last year and my college requested to have any English certificate to have my official LOA (Letter of Acceptance). I decided to take CAEL online test because my province didn’t have any CAEL test center. Everything was fine until I was done my Proproctor pre-test before my CAEL test and prepared for offical CAEL test. But for an unknown reason, I couldn’t attend to my test because my screen said to wait while my device is secured for the exam and I do not know what to do insead of waiting. So I tried to find a way to start my test but I have no clues. The result for this is I can not attend my test again because I was late and I have lost my registed money (no refund) because of this (This also my first online test since I lived in Canada).
