2024.05.25 15:07 The_MadStork [FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Sexyy Red - In Sexyy We Trust

It’s been just over 24 hours since Sexyy Red dropped In Sexyy We Trust, executive produced by Tay Keith.
Sexyy Red is a polarizing figure on this subreddit, and the Drake feature will steal most of the attention, but this album is fun, doesn’t take itself seriously, and has a ton of replay value. I saw one commenter in the album thread say elder millennials who grew up with late 2000s Bricksquad shit have an obligation to defend Sexyy Red, and I agree entirely - people trashed OJ da Juiceman and Shawty Lo back in the day, but their music was great then and still is now. This album walks confidently in their footsteps.

DOD
D.O.D is a set of EBK BDs located on 68 and Wabash in Greater Grand Crossing. DOD is short for Disciples of David. They also goes by TTG, TwinTown, DakotaWorld and DreGang. They are EBK and some members crack Treys but they aren’t Insane, they are also another mixed set with a few Gds, one of their man OGs is a GD, and I think Dthang is a stone. Despite being EBK they do have structure and big homies that they listen to. This is if not Jmoneys original hood at least some place he lived and claimed at one point in time, some of them still rep MunnaGang in his honour.

AMG
At first they was known as AMG but when Cmb Art killed Mac in 2011 the young members start MacBlock. They also go by Levon Gang or FreakWorld**. Mac Block** is a Bd set located on 64 and Green St. in Englewood
Mac block used to be apart of The HBE alliance together wit DoggPound*,* SMB and Lowelife but they fell apart with Lowelife when Man Man (Macblock) killed Taedoe🕊 (Lowelife) because Taedoe disrespected somebody mom on social media and this started one of the bloodiest war in Englewood wich continues to this day.Their original opps are WWG/CMB,B$,WugaWorld and the rest of the 6775
Recently they’ve had beef with DOD,this beef escaleted when 2 months ago some DOD members caught BK on the 6500 block of S.Peoria and shot him dead.BK was one of the most respected BD in englewood (respected by his opps too) and the top shooter for MacBlock. He was very close with Kenny mac and the pound and he was related to EBK Juvie from NLMB.RIP to Baby Kevin🕊
Because of the LoweLife situation none of the sets that MacBlock used to be cool with fw them anymore, their only allies is May block wich are stones located on 73rd and may that they are into whit WugaWorld,Ymm and GoonieBoss.

2024.02.04 05:01 uhweenodeeno Is something wrong with my application?

Going into college applications I was pretty confident, however I’ve been rejected/waitlisted from all but one of the schools I’ve applied to, except for my safety (JMU). This has left me upset and confused, as I’m really left with only one option after being rejected from Penn state and UVA, and waitlisted from Virginia Tech. I’m still waiting on UNC and NC state but now I’m not so sure I can count on those. Did I do something wrong? I’ll list my application stuff below.
Marketing major
GPA: 3.96, 9 AP’s 5 Honors
Class rank: 63/370
Activities:
DECA Officer - 11,12
Class secretary - 12
Founded a school sports & entertainment news network, ran powderpuff and bricksquad(same thing as powderpuff except it’s guys playing volleyball), - 12
Club, JV, and varsity soccer - 9,10,11,12
National Honor society - 11,12
Taekwondo instructor - 9,10
Employee at the school store - 10,11,12
Dicks sporting goods retail associate - 12
Marketing department tutor - 12
Test optional
Please let me know if you see something that college admissions officers really don’t like and thank you so much for your time.

2023.11.26 17:42 CompetitiveLuck4021 So are all Neighborhoods politics in Cleveland merged

Good example: So Vice Lords around St Clair was big back in the 80s. So when another generation went aka the 7Alls they got bigger and when 43 7all members got indicted they went to jail and became Heartless Felon. They ended up becoming Soldiers of the Same struggle.
So when another generation came aka this one you got cliques like Blitz gang, D4MB, 76th Bricksquad. Are they the same shit knowing they all birthed from 7All? Plus the zone 3 cliques
I know 7All have beef with RDS/Star boyz and 76th had beef with Dirty 30.
Also for Dirty 30 I know they HF but how did the Fully Blooded Felon stuff. I know they call themselves the O and I heard there be BDs and GDs around Dirty 30 so is Dirty 30 an O Block set
I heard St Clair have strong blood ties. Like all the Cliques are either HF or Blood. They from Coit and pretty much the Coit niggas are merged together.
So is a neighborhood is like an local alliance the same how Laflexico operate. So like Is Dtw and UTW hoods are also large Alliences like Woo and Choo

2023.10.23 05:54 dclan630 (RantAlert)2013-2014 geeked up thug is the vibe of all vibes!!! leaking about 100 literal psych-trap masterpieces (aka basically the blueprints of pop rap to this day) and dipping on his label to ingest lots of strong amphetamines/opiates and create a new rap genre w bricksquad is punk asf FREEJEFF

"stoner young thugger,
I whip it, that bitch, yeah, she know me, young thugger"
" Split that money up in eight ways like I'm an octopus On the campus with lots of pounds, kicked outta college All I bleed is red but n\***, but I'm not stoppin' s*** Pull up to the set and I come and pay all my homages. Hoppin' out on Bleveland I pour up straight out the pharmacy. P**** n**** scared to say it, I got 'em hummin' s***. Lil b****, you know I'm really thuggin' like Bones & Harmony "*
" Found my rhythm. Now that's his ass, run and kick him, hey (Hey, yeah, yeah)"
" NASCAR, speed on 'em (skrrt)I got bitches in the spot callin' me big homie (on blood) I'm bouncin' like a trampoline, homie (boing, boing) So in love with this cash, all my shows have the cream, homie (woo!) I'm bangin' red like strawberries, I told your bitch ain't goin' steady, My weed is loud and you smokin' libraries (damn!) I got a thing for ampheties, All my diamonds green like lettuce, And what you worth to me? Pennies. Let's get it"
(i ascend when the "stoner young thugga" hits lol and Imma Ride flow is goat)
This dudes on another level. Let's just put this evolution into perspective. 2012 he sounded generally mediocre, his first real sign of potential to me was 2 Cups Stuffed on 1017 Thug. Then Stoner dropped (and before that some features on Gucci Mane's WW3 series and Trap God 3) and I'm like WTF.... my mind was blown... how could this average rapper with one or 2 kind of cool songs over the course of 6 tapes IMO (ICFN1/2/3+1017Thug 1/2/3) come back after 1 year with such a singular, otherworldly, amazing style of rap, that he could utilize and control with ease and grace. Sitting here geeked on 1 or 4 things... I'm thinking it might have been partly a punk factor (his influences styles are pretty 'punk' or 'unique'). He said fuck whatever bs label he got involved in, he was above that to the streets. In my imagination, he got his 1st check (got a check) and made some moves in w bricksquad (and soon birdman) and Gucci Mane gave him a little mentoring and some Pillz and they got to flexin - from then on the 2010s were destined to be Thug's. Man I'm trippin. I feel like Fabo frfr. Hearing Barter 6 for the first time was out of body type stuff. That type of production, similar to So Far Gone/808s+Heartbreak/Blonde in a way to me, but with that dark psycadelic Metro/London, thats my favorite type beats. The minimal, dark, aux-cord-killing, beautiful Barter 6.
ok quick break...
" That's called breathin', that's how you let that bitch breathe fool"
I remember reading an interview with Miles Davis, in which he was talking about how he had a totally new vision of the future of jazz music for his album Kind of Blue (1959) and it would concentrate on not harmony and chord changes**,** as jazz did up to that point mostly, but texture and melody**: flow, rhythmic variety, phrasing, articulation, and** developing repeating motifs**, building on them slightly as they progress, speeding them up, changing the rhythm slightly, interchanging slurs and slides and bends, all the while building intensity by utilizing various techniques to give a sense of rhythmic or melodic tension-and-release plus call-and-response phrasing.** That is a great way to explain the epitome of Thugga's beat-riding finesse. Interestingly enough, there are many parallels creatively between Miles and Jeffery. That's another post though lol.
Treasure. About the Money. Givenchy. 730. Danny Glover. Stoner. Flava. Raw. Beast. OG Good Times. All of Slime Season 1. (Best Friend/PoweAgain/Stunna especially) Memo. Hercules. The Blanguage. Warrior. Constantly Hating. OD. Numbers. Just Might Be. Halftime. CHECK (my ultimate stoner-trap song) Those songs where it's just Thug riding 2 verses and a hook or 2 over a London or Metro beat from 2014, god... I swear, it was like being a kid again. Searching youtube, seeing a performance of Jimi Hendrix doing Wild Thing at Monterey Pop Festival from 1969, with the teeth and lighting the guitar on fire and the whole thing-and every single hook was impeccable-Thug really does use his voice like a guitarist improvises a great solo or riff, more than any other rapper imo. (and the competition's really not even close tbh) I say this as a guitarist of 10 years, just starting to really hone in on a style of my own, and seeing Thug's evolution is very inspiring to me. His verses are very similar to great guitar solos and I'm thinking of trying to cover a thug verse on guitar. (his voice) He's seriously a great songwriter. He knows how to make a hook like no other. Its striking. He's a walking hook. It's actually insane, I've never heard an artist so consistently catchy and interesting. He gives me B.B. King energy in some ways (14 women filed child support with BB - him not denying any and paying for the children's college tuitions/"I'm the father of 6 babies" + kind of pushed blues music into what it is thought of by the masses today i think/thug with rap) Jimi Hendrix vibes for sure with his phrasing, showy (but truly skilled) flamboyance, and experimentation-David Bowie of rap fashion and forward thinking. Lou Reed level of no-fk-giving-amphetamine-fueled punk ethos. Chief Keef level of came from nothing-ness. I'd argue that he's had a similar evolution to Miles Davis, prolific as all hell and constantly creating new sounds. His prolific record of perfect hooks matches Kurt Cobain's discography-way of crafting suchhhh catchy vocal melodies with ease. That was pretty much his thing. Along with writing lyrics that don't always make the most perfect sense at first but stick in your head for days for some reason. (sound like someone?) Kurt Cobain's "Sell the kids for food, weather changes mood, spring has come again, reproductive glands" and "Lack of iron and/or sleeping. I am my own parasite, I don't need a host to live, We feed off of each other, We can share our endorphins, Doll steak, Test meat"-not too far from something like "Breathe easy, bitch I might just teach you. Not a pleaser, I might Mickey D's her" or "Big ol' booty bitch misses from Texas, what's next is- I'm gon' skeet off, lil nigga come catch me, catch me. And that's my bestie, my bestie, my best friend, go best friend. Nigga livin' TTG and everything is still on fleek". They both give me a "what the fuck?" curious type reaction. Like what they are saying on the low isn't what they are saying, an "if you get it you get it" type appeal. Anyways... mannnnn.. 2014 was the days lol. Im just reminiscinnn. I got my mind right and never applied for tuition. lately i been clean for the camera but tonight im really trippin. -orange juice+5 min please. gucci me- Damn I love sex. I cant even talk rly.
and then he became an actual fashion juggernaut and a mainstream pop trap artist capable of making the most perfect verses, morphing the early 2014 sound I so dearly loved into another similar, but subtly unique style of melodic rapping, not my preffered sound from him, as 2014 is, but still capable of making classics with ease (Daddy's Birthday/Offshore/Just How It Is/Wycleaf Jean etc... all masterpieces imo)
