All the things my mil an sil has done to me

2024.05.17 13:25 No-Doubt-5786 All the things my mil an sil has done to me

For 16 years my mil an oldest sil have been awful, after dealing with it for so long I developed ptsd from their treatment. I been NC since April and it is absolutely wonderful, I juss wanna talk about some of the things they've done.
After the birth of my first daughter mil an fil were telling bf to not sign the birth certificate, and the nurses were giving me such a hard time for him to sign the paperwork. So when he came to the hospital after work I told him they wanted him to sign the papers he was refusing to go get them from the desk an I just had a c section, so I got mad and walked down there and got the stuff from them an took it back to him he did sign but mil an fil were not happy... it has always been difficult with husband until recently believing me about how awful his mother is to me he didn't wanna deal with any of it an basically wanted me to take their torture which the end result was my mental health, makes me really upset cuz I could of been smarter and just left an maybe today I would be able to go into a large crowd of people without feeling scared an panicking. I can barely go into stores now. But anyway....
Bf was giving me money to help buy baby stuff it was 100 every week, he was also giving mil 400 a week. Mil an sil cornered me and threw a fit about he was giving me to much money. Which i find funny bc he was literally giving her a lot of money, I was also on government assistance for like 3 months an she said bf was entitled to half of that money.
Mil put her electric in bfs name (he still lived there) she let the bill go up to over 2000 dollars and didn't pay it off till he gave her problems cuz they were sayin his wages were gonna be attached, we had juss gotten our first apartment when they threatened to attach his wages. She lied to him about paying it she did some but not all and he still gets letters about that bill.
During the first couple weeks at our new apartment mil would bring a plate of food for just bf an would give me dirty looks while he was eating it šŸ¤£
Now it gets interesting...
Fast forward to our second child mil stated to both of us the baby wasn't his but was my brother's šŸ™„ that was the first time she did anything Infront of him an he threw a fit after that its all been backhanded she'd do shit when he wasn't in the room.
I had gotten a tattoo on the side of my neck just a lil star and she said only trashy people do that, but it was ok sil got 2 on both sides of her neck.
Mil sil and sils friend came to our wedding in pajamas it was at the courthouse but everyone was dressed up
Mil took both bottom tiers of my wedding cake my friend made for me and my mom had to fight her for the top of it. She had also stole my first babyshower cake I didn't even get a piece
Sometimes on the weekends we would drink beers an have people over, sometimes sil would come over and few times she'd bring her friend and their mutual friend would come now I knew right away they did this on purpose and it was absolutely intentional they had this girl flirt with husband I over heard this girl say something about how her crotch would get so wet and I went off it caused a big fight and when I told that girl we were married she acted shocked an left immediately never saw her again.
Mil brought me pants of this really really big lady we all knew and said these should fit u
This one is the beginning of the end my father passed away and a month after was my youngest bday husband was outside cookin on the grill and mil and fil came in an mil starting making jokes about funerals even fil told her thats fked up. My mom went home later in tears. A few months later after that we learned fil had the same cancer my dad passed of.
Youngest sil overdosed 2 years ago and is bedridden now and mil takes care of her and her 3 kids 2 months before that happened we were all sitting at my kitchen table and mil told everyone idc what kind of drugs you do just don't get caught with them... I thought wow this is insane shit.
In February of this year I had gotten a fb message from someone idk and they were sayin all these things that would definitely make me break up with husband, in the messages they had given their self away sayin only things mil would of known. There was a huge argument and mil ended up writing husband f you and your family. Then all of a sudden sils friend gets a job at husband's shop an works with him... husband an I sat down and were talkin about how that whole thing was a big plan to get us to break up and sils friend to weasel her way into husband's life.
There has been so much more but those r the things that stay vividly in my mind. After the whole fb thing I was done an the last time mil popped up at our home an i had a panic attack she was told to not come here anymore of course she knows nothing and has done nothing wrong šŸ™„ an is currently telling people she doesn't know what's going on... she has to tell people that so she doesn't look like the bad guy cuz she has talked so much trash about me to everyone that they would know. She even sent her nephew to tell husband to call his mom šŸ™„ he never did... he texted her happy mother's day and she said to tell me the same from her I'm at the point I don't want to hear from her, don't wanna hear her name, I wanna forget what she looks like.
I forgot to mention they were all on m3th an that just amplified their stupidness which is probably why they thought that fb idea was the plan to finally get husband an I apart šŸ˜† oldest sil is really bad on that stuff now an her life is Fallin apart everyone says she is goin down the same path as youngest sil but all they do is watch and talk about it.
If you made it thus far thanks for reading ā¤ļø

2024.05.17 13:24 dolm09 Startup fundraising tips Vol 1: Investors telling you "You're too early"

I am a founder that has experienced most of the good, the ugly and the bad of raising capital for my startup from private investors and Venture Capitals. I have experienced co-founder break-ups, key employees leaving, secondary rounds, successful funding rounds, bridge rounds, flat metrics, growth metrics, massive partnerships with FAANG companies, hundreds of investors rejections and so on.
I've decided to post interesting tips and content that can be useful for founders that are right now fundraising to help them avoid certain mistakes or take some weight off of their shoulders.
This one is about investors telling you "You're too early", something that you've probably experienced if you are fundraising for your startup.
Having gone through 100+ pitch meetings, I can tell you that they will NEVER say the real reasons. When they throw a random metric, an expected traction, or whatever feedback, take it with a very fine grain of salt.
The true reasons normally are these:
  1. They're Afraid to Say No: Investors want to keep their options open.
  2. No Sense of Urgency: They think, "Why invest now? I can wait 6 months and see if the founder solves X."
  3. Lack of Understanding/Belief: They donā€™t get what youā€™re doing but don't want to miss out if a big name like Sequoia/a16z decides to land a Term Sheet.
So, when you're fundraising, instead of focusing on changing your roadmap and do what they tell you, focus more on why the above didn't work out. All of them can be summarized to FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). So, what can you do to generate FOMO among investors?
  1. Be extremely optimistic about the fundraise. Investors donā€™t want to feel they are ā€œhelpingā€ with their money, charities fill that gap better. They want to feel that they are going to have an extreme return. They want to feel they are betting on the 1% companies. They have to feel a sense of urgency.
  2. Casually throw details about the progress of the fundraise with confidence. Donā€™t worry, those small details will become stronger facts as you make progress in conversations, and your confidence will grow and their sense of urgency too.
  3. Obsess with the tough questions. Everyone is good at the easy ones. Construct short, simple and objective arguments for each tough question. As Pascal said, ā€œif I had more time, I would have written a shorter letterā€. Deliver the message through.
  4. Be passionate and straightforward about what you want to build. Don't try to sound as something you think you should, or something youā€™ve seen around. VCs are tired of fabricated pitches, they speak with 10 different founders a day, all of them feeling they are the most special founder that will become the next Elon Musk. Don't let the air in the room eat you and act nervous. Be authentic and special.
These things may seem irrelevant, but investors are not rational animals. What pushes them to dive into a company and invest in it, is not the data. It's the feeling of closing a deal that potentially will return their entire fund several times. Those things happen once every 100 companies and there's no empirical analysis in the world that can give you such insight.
Therefore, the story you build around you and your company can have a greater weight in your investor interactions than having a good CAC.

9 Major Things to Take Care While Applying for France Study Visa - September 2024 Intake
France is the most famous tourist destination in the world for multiple reasons. Besides its natural and cultural beauty, France has an extensive background of intellectual strength. The countryā€™s universities are well known for offering excellent education in various fields, attracting students from around the globe seeking a France Study Visa.
In French universities, there is a wide range of programs that are both standard and unique, ranging from arts and humanities to science and engineering.
Now you can ask why you should study in France. There are many reasons why one should study abroad in France, such as an opportunity to join a top university and be fully immersed in a language and society that is known worldwide. Living in a globally-minded community would enhance your education and broaden your perspectives.
But before relocating to France for higher study, students must complete the application process for a France student visa. In this piece of guide, we will discuss about the significant things to take care while applying for student Visa for France.
https://preview.redd.it/nztfyfv41z0d1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6692f3a56b56725451aa2270f05b58bc0ad0bff
Here are nine important things you should keep in mind when applying for a visa to Study in France:

1) Right Business School or University

Getting into the right school sets the stage for your future academic and career goals. France has many well-known business schools and universities known for their creative programmes and high academic standards.
International students benefit from Studying abroad in France even without taking the IELTS or any English test. This makes visiting France easier for non-English speakers, making it a popular college destination.

2) Best Suitable Program to Study

For a fulfilling educational experience, it is important to look into programmes that match your academic interests and job goals. Many programmes in France are designed to meet the needs of international students. Business programmes are very common. Master of Management (MIM) degrees in Finance, HR, and Marketing prepare students for worldwide success.
Also, choosing an 18-month programme gives you plenty of time to focus on your studies and look for student jobs. In France, many schools offer internships or part-time jobs that give students important real-world experience and the chance to meet new people.

3) Your Documents Checklist

Visa applicants must pay great attention to every detail and have all the necessary papers. Documents that are often needed are:
  • Proof of being enrolled: A letter from the school you want to attend stating that you have been accepted into a programme.
  • Statements of money: Proof that you have enough money to pay for education, living costs, and other costs related to the programme.
  • Coverage for health insurance: Proof that you have full health insurance that covers your whole stay in France.
  • Passport that works: Check that your passport has two blank pages for visa stamps and is valid in France.
You must carefully examine the list of materials the French study abroad consultant or office provides to ensure the application procedure runs smoothly. For further details explore France VFS Checklist by Edugo Abroad, we are a top Europe education consultant located in India.

4) Post Study Work Option

Knowing what jobs, you can get after finishing school in France is important for planning your future career. France has policies are good for international students who want to find work after graduation. For example, you can stay longer to look for work or go to school for longer.
With the temporary residence card, students can stay in France and look for work for up to 24 months after graduation. During this time frame, graduates can work full-time in any area without needing any other work authorization. Additionally, graduates from French schools may be able to get a "Passport Talent" visa, which makes the transition from student to job easier.

5) Employment & Job Opportunities in France

France's strong economy and wide job opportunities are good news for skilled workers in many fields. Foreign graduates can employ their talents and knowledge in technology, healthcare, finance, and hospitality.
Make local connections and check your school's internship or job placement programmes to boost your chances of finding meaningful work in France. Speaking and writing French well can increase your work prospects and help you integrate into French culture.

6) Settlement Options with Family After Study

Everyone needs to know the visa rules of Student Visa for France from India and how to reconnect with family if they want to live in France permanently or bring family members. Family reunions and long-stay visas for dependent children and spouses are available in France.
To reconcile with your family, you must have a stable salary, a suitable home, and enough health insurance for everyone. Planning and talking to immigration officials or lawyers can speed up family reunification and help your loved ones adjust.

7) Diplomatic Relationship of France with India

France and India have diplomatic links, including working together, sharing culture, and making strategic partnerships in many areas. High-level visits and projects led by leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi have strengthened relations between the two countries and encouraged them to work together in areas like defence, science, education, and more.
These diplomatic ties help Indian students learn in France through academic exchange programmes, scholarships, and cultural projects. The fact that there are Indian societies and cultural groups in France also helps Indian students get used to living in a new country.

8) Affordability of Cost in France

Even though France has a high standard of life and a world-class school system, you need to know how much it costs to live there to prepare your money. The cost of living varies by city; Paris costs more than other cities.
Lodging, transportation, food, medical bills, and personal expenses are crucial. Live in student accommodation or shared apartments, travel the bus or train, and cook to cut costs. Another way for international students to get money is to look into scholarship programmes, part-time jobs, and financial aid programmes.

9) Choosing the right Application & Visa Advisor

Applying for a French student Visa can be difficult, especially for international students who don't know how French immigration works. Selecting a reputable application and visa consultant or guide can be very helpful and supportive during the application process.
When hiring an advisor, consider experience, name, success record, and cost and service transparency. A skilled advisor from France visa consultants in Ahmedabad will help you gather papers, fill out visa application forms, schedule visa interviews, and address any concerns.

Iā€™ve noticed that many people donā€™t quite understand what weā€™re waiting for with FFIE The reason this particular stock was chosen is that hedge funds have shorted 95% of its shares on the market. What does this mean? It means that 95% of the stock has been borrowed and sold by them because they expect the price to drop, allowing them to buy it back cheaper later. However, as retail investors buy these shares, the price doesnā€™t drop but rather rises. At this point, hedge funds have two choices: 1) Legally, theyā€™re required to put up more money. 2) They need to buy back the 95% of the stock they initially borrowed and sold. Right now, theyā€™re choosing option 1), but their funds are limited. As long as we donā€™t sell, when they run out of money, theyā€™ll be forced to buy back the 95% of shares they sold, which will send the stock price skyrocketing like a rocket. This is exactly what happened with GameStop. What weā€™re waiting for is a short squeezeā€”waiting for the moment the hedge funds run out of money and go bankrupt.

2024.05.17 13:12 Yennysnowflake I often despise my father

I just heard my father complaining about how my mom haven't paid him his borrowed money yet but we all knew that she's paying for her tuitions(she's getting her masters if I'm not mistaken) my mom has a lot to pay since she's the only one who has a stable job(I mean she's the only one who finished school) while my father works but not as stable as my mom's job as he didn't finish college I just hate how my father is complaining when mom is doing most of the job weather it's house or work or bills.

2024.05.17 13:11 clayWaffle Out of options

I donā€™t know what to do and Iā€™m afraid.
23F, homeless, no car, no food, no family, no friends, only 10 dollars in bank acc, most likely about to be fired. Staying in motel for a couple of days.
Hi, I donā€™t know if this the right place to post this. Usually Iā€™d make a throwaway for personal stuff like this but Iā€™m desperate. I left an abusive household earlier this year, February 12th. It was my parentā€™s place. I went to a psych ward for a month, stayed at a motel for awhile. Then stayed with my aunt til I could find a place to go. It was fine for the first few days til the arguments between her and her bf started. Often times itā€™d get violent between the two and Iā€™d be locked out of the apartment until early mornings of the hour, next day theyā€™re all lovey dovey again.
Iā€™ve been surrounded by domestic abuse my whole life and have been, for the most part, isolated from the rest of the world; so this was normal to me. The problems started happening when theyā€™d directly involve me in it. Trying to get me into their arguments by having me pick a side, choose who to defend, telling me to call the police only to backtrack a minute later telling me not to. If I had a room it mightā€™ve been ok, but I was in the living room so Iā€™d be caught in the crossfire a lot; since Iā€™d often wake to them arguing and throwing stuff around.
I reached my breaking point yesterday. Another argument, but this time he started going at me. Mind you I said nothing to him and continued not to. But he started hurling out insults, talked about my appearance, my mom, etc etc. I didnā€™t say anything before, during, or after this and just tried to keep quietly reassuring my aunt itā€™d be ok and just to ignore him. I wanted to lock him out, since itā€™s not his place, name isnā€™t on the lease, not paying rent. But he took the keys, both to the car and apartment and refused to give them back unless she went back with him. He kept coming in every few minutes to yell at her then goes out to smoke, then back in again. I told her to call the police or Iā€™d call but she kept on saying no, cause she didnā€™t want to deal with that.
I think at that point I realized this was just a repeat of my childhood. My father would assault and batter my mom, Iā€™d try to defend and comfort her, Iā€™d try to get her help/call the police or family, sheā€™d completely refuse; sheā€™d go back to him, act all in love again, then theyā€™d both be against me. I left my house cause I couldnā€™t deal with it anymore so to have to jump from one domestic abuse situation to the next is all too much for me. I especially decided to leave because he went through my stuff. My stuff was moved around when my aunt and I were outside, and it was left in different places. I havenā€™t been able to find my social security card since, so now Iā€™d need to go through the whole process of getting a new one.
I have no money, no transportation, and no type of support system. Right out of high school I became a full time caregiver for my mother (severe MS, BPD, manic episodes, and depression. Unmedicated for all except MS) along with housekeeping, and helping raise/school my youngest brother (ADHD, also unmedicated).
During these years I wasnā€™t getting paid for this and I wasnā€™t working since no one else would be able to take care of my mother if I did; other siblings were children besides my older brother, but he has autism and schizophrenia and struggles keeping up with himself. So the responsibility fell to me.
We couldnā€™t get state benefits for my mom, dad made too much (200k/yr) so we didnā€™t qualify. Heā€™s too much of a cheapskate to put some money to the side hire a nurse, or caregiver, let alone pay me. I know he has the money to afford these things but mainly chooses to spend it on lotto tickets, gambling/betting, trips to Vegas, alcohol, expensive shoes, random products advertised to him online, steaks, lobster, etc. All while complaining that he has no money and weā€™re draining him. I dont ask for money from him.
He didnā€™t pay for my rides to the doctors, appointments, or medicine. I had to rely on my older brother or mom to sneak me some money for that. I didnā€™t have money for basic needs. I wore the same clothes I had in high school; half of which were borrowed from my older brother. Only had one pair of shoes which my aunt bought me, and had to borrow soap and other hygiene products from my brothers and mom since he wouldnā€™t buy me any. ā€œOh I forgotā€ ā€œI donā€™t have any money on me, ask your brothersā€ and other excuses like that.
My therapist just keeps telling me to contact dhs, go to a shelter, or stay with a friend or coworker, family even. DHS never picks up their phone and I have no transportation to get there. There are no available shelters in my area. The ones that are open require either a referral or that I be a domestic abuse victim. I donā€™t have any friends (isolated since we moved in 2013) and Iā€™m not close with any coworkers. Iā€™ve only been working a couple months, and for the most part Iā€™m left to work alone, besides customer interaction.
Iā€™ve tried telling her this isnā€™t a possibility but she just says someone will say yes, ā€œyouā€™re so nice, so someone is bound toā€ or ā€œif someone else was in your situation youā€™d help them, so why wouldnā€™t they?ā€ Iā€™m just at the end of my ropes here. Iā€™m really just posting this just to rant ig. I donā€™t really have any options left. Iā€™ve struggled with suicidal tendencies since I was 12 and Iā€™ve come to accept life isnā€™t getting better. I donā€™t know. I just need some advice or support. Anything Iā€™m so desperate.
Iā€™ve decided that this week is probably going to be my last. My brothers are old enough to not need me around anymore and the rest of my family doesnā€™t give a damn about me; partially due to burnt bridges during my momā€™s manic episodes when sheā€™d harass them. They want nothing to do with us now. Iā€™m just completely over it now. I know thereā€™s no going back for me and I donā€™t have anything to lose so Iā€™m posting in any subreddit I can as a last ditch effort. Sorry for the long sob story.

2024.05.17 13:04 Rouxyll My father was scammed years ago and still suffers the consequences

Hello everybody.
First, I want to mention that English is not my first language, so I am sorry for my mistakes. Thatā€™s why I am partly working with a translator.
Second, I donā€™t have every detail on this case, because my father told me for the first time about this a few hours ago. But it feels like I got the most important stuff from him.
Third, I do not know how many years ago exactly this happened. But he told me that he lives with the ā€žconsequencesā€œ for 10 to 12 years now.
Oh, and we are from Germany - just in case this in important in any way.
Now on to the story.
Many years ago, my father worked in the warehouse of a relatively large supermarket. There, through some contact (which he didn't go into any further), he was "offered" a (building society) savings contract through some company. There you pay some money for a while into some sort of account and after a while you can get your saving back, plus the interest. He had accepted this offer and it was handled in such a way that the money he would have had to pay for it was deducted from his salary.
At some point, he went to the bank to clarify something about the building society contract / savings contract. There, however, he learnt that the company through which it was run no longer existed.
I don't know who exactly it was, but some other company probably wanted money from him instead. His account was even to be seized. Of course, he didn't realise this and went to his bank and explained the situation to them. The bank hadn't really done much, but he has now had a seizure protection account for at least a decade. He has to stay below a certain amount, otherwise he can no longer access the money.
My father said that he had already seen a lawyer. But he couldn't help him. He also regularly talks to his bank about it, but absolutely nothing is happening. Regularly, he gets a letter about a general meeting from that company which want the money from him, but he never was a member there.
Hence my question: Does anyone have any ideas what can be done? Or is this something that cannot be won?
Thanks for reading and Iā€˜m grateful for ever piece of advice we can get. :>
Edit: added some information

2024.05.17 12:46 TheChineseImposition Landlord giving us notice 2 months after we moved in (Scotland)

We moved into the new place 2 months ago and we only applied for this flat because it was stated as a long term let.
Then 2 months after we moved in, the landlord said they want us to move out because they want to sell the property. We've spent substantial amount of money and effort/stress moving into this place, only now to be kicked out after only 2 months.
The landlord said they would sell the property to us if we are interested.
The housing market is really tough here and especially bad in the summer, we are frantically trying to find a new place to rent but without much luck right now. This leaves us in a limbo as they want us out by end of next month..
I am in a position financially to buy, but this flat is a doer upper and comes with a lot of caveats which may or may not be suitable for us... The letting agents are also the sales agents for this property. They have not come back with a home report yet and they are generally useless / non-responsive. They've not sent any emails or letters in writing with a notice to vacate.
Is there anything we can do to buy ourselves more time?

Imma try to keep this short as possible I met a girl on snap '18Fā€™ and Iā€™m '20Mā€™ , 2 months ago She lives about 40 mins from me We had planned to meet just next month and we had spoken about this not to long ago (meet-up) I asked her to be my gf about a month ago(WhatsApp) She said yes , (sorry if some stuff in here is irrelevant) Anyways i know she has had alot of traumatical experiences and has tried to off herself 2 or three times this year before meeting me She said I helped her Few weeks ago she said something about she could disappear for a while , cause she needed a break for her mental health But we still talked a lot even after all that Just yesterday i felt something was wrong as she never replies with one word answers But I told her when she is ready to talk Iā€™ll be here Then she told me her parents (apparently ill treat her) have went through her stuff again , she tried to off herself again and now she is being sent to a mental institution again but she estimates her stay being for 9 months( after 3 months she will be moved to a private institution for 3 or 6 months in another province , thatā€™s what she said but she could of made a mistake) I told her that Iā€™m not gonna move on and Iā€™m gonna wait for her She said she will do the same And ā€œthis is all part of gods planā€ Honestly she is the best girl Iā€™ve ever met and I donā€™t wanna lose her Also apparently she was supposed to move to the uk with her mom next week ( she informed me a month ago)but just yesterday she told me that her mom will go without her and then bring her to the uk after 2 or 4 months I was fine with the idea of long distance relationship cause she said she will come back holidays (December) and her aunt lives a road away from me , but her dad wonā€™t let her see her aunt , that was our first way of meeting up that didnā€™t work I canā€™t sleep or think about other stuff other than her , I canā€™t breathe much , a lot of anxiety Iā€™m planning to go visit her In there within 3 months(this would be my first time meeting her) , hopefully they let me in or atleast send her letters or gifts , I donā€™t have a job or anything,Iā€™m currently studying (3rd year) but I saved up money to meet her since 2 months ago I donā€™t have necessarily a question but just ANY ADVICE please šŸ™šŸ¼ BE HONEST ,you donā€™t have to sugarcoat
TLDR:Met a girl 2 months ago,she became my gf,we were supposed to meet but that was until she was sent into a mental institution todayā€¦

2024.05.17 12:39 Angreisuedebiatch Abyg (I can't express my feelings)

I can't express my feelings
We're not a rich family, I grew up in a household where my grandparents cared for me until I grew up. It was always sunshine but it changes when pandemic happened. I am a teenager almost twenty now. So, it all started in the pandemic, financial struggle was real that time. My parents got cut off from their job because of that, we're living in the province that time where I actually grew up. Conflicts happened, a lot of it. One of my godfather gave me money because it was an Aguinaldo (a gift money for my birthday), my parents guilt trip me about it. It was just a small amount okay. Like, x, xxx in Philippine Peso. I wanted to save it for my needs in school. I know we're in deep financial struggle that time. I am aware, but we still have food to eat. The thing is, my parents wanted good food because they're more on the type of ā€œulaminā€ people. So, of course I cried not because of the money but how they approached me. Can't they kindly ask me if they can borrow the money? I can let them but by guilt tripping me, I don't think so. Not just that. Things started there and even this year, I can say we're the years that I am not stable (mentally). I am mentally exhausted, people would say that I don't looked like it. Because, I give off that aura which is ā€œgo with the flow, smiling everyday, no problem cannot be solvedā€ look and aura. Maybe, because I am not bringing the bad vibes or negativity with me in school or even when I go out of the house. Everything stays on where they are. I had breakdowns that they did not know about, it was silent cries, surely because I am already full with emotions that I can't do anything about it. Because, if I cry without reason, or my anxiety attack I am crazy. When my asthma attacks, I cried, I am called crazy. When I slap myself because I wanted to feel pain since I can't breath or when bad thoughts came to my mind and I would slap myself or hurt myself. Of course, I know I looked crazy. But, invalidating my feelings I know is not okay. I just want a safe space but my home is too toxic. I am the eldest, I am not seen as a responsible eldest that they think of, because of my childish behavior, I am immature for my age. Can't I be like that because I can't show my inner child with them? I am mature if I want it to be, I am immature if I want to be. It's just because I want it to be that way. They are always right anyways. I don't know, hshshs. I need advice on this. I know I have bad attitude, and bad approaches but I wanna know any advice that can help me. Thank you!

2024.05.17 12:30 B4DR1998 What's happening and where are we headed? Hear me out.

So in order to grasp what's going on, there's basically three chapters which you need to know about, so you can jump on the bandwagon well prepared. You lousy degen. Welcome anyways. Okay, here we go. Chapter one.
1. What is "le short squeeze"?
In order for you retards to understand what you're actually doing by buying and holding. You need to understand the concept of shorting and short squeezing. This is not just a pump n dump or a simple way to make money. This is war. It's us idiots, against the suits. Why? Because we like the stock much more than they do. Probably...
Shorting goes as follows. You can make money off a stock by selling it for profit, or buying it cheap AFTER selling it. How does that work? Well, let's say some dude owns a 100 stocks. Let's call this dude Requis. Requis owns 100 stocks of a company of which he believes it will grow in 20 years or so. Some evil hedgie believes the stock will actually lose value soon. So the hedgie goes to Requis and will be like: Yo. Borrow me some of your stock. Requis says okay. Hedgie sells it immediately at market value, hoping the stock will lose value so hedgie can buy it back for cheaper so hedgie can return the loaned stock to Requis. This way hedgie sells it for a hundred bucks per share, and buys it back for 80 bucks per share. Pocketing 20 bucks in profit per share. This is shorting in a nutshell. Now what's awesome in this case is, hedgie is obliged to return the stock to Requis. So they HAVE to buy it at some point.
That's where we come in. We have the stock because we like it. They want the stock because they need it. They have to buy it. Otherwise Requis will get angry. Soo...they have to persuade us into selling the stock. But since we own the stock, we're the ones dictating the terms as long as we hold. We're squeezing out max turnover from the stock sale. That's a short squeeze.
2. History repeats itself
This whole thing happened before with the well known GME stock. I'm not going to explain what happened, as Hollywood made a fking movie about it. It's called Dumb Money, if ur interested. Anyways, there are some lessons to be learned from what happened before. The GME stock was cheap af and soared to unimaginable heights when the squeeze happened. A similar pattern is occuring right now with the FFIE stock. People in this sub are talking about $5 or $3. But based on the GME story, the potential is waaaaaay higher. What the GME squeeze taught us, is that patience is key. Some important key takeaways to consider are: The trade of FFIE will be halted multiple times. The same happened to GME. During these trade halts, the value of the stock will most likely go down. Sometimes it will go down a lot. This doesn't mean anything okay? There's literally no reason for you to sell at that point, as it's a common tactic used by market regulators to reduce volatility. Another important thing to consider is to stay focused on the stocks that matter. Don't lose focus and check out other stocks that soar. By doing so you're doing the hedgies a favor. Third key takeaway is the importance of holding. DO NOT SELL right after the stock went up significantly. It doesn't necessarily mean the squeeze has been squeezed.
3. What can we expect?
The truth is we don't know what to expect. That's the risk of trading stock. Especially since we're a bunch of retards too dumb to get dressed in the morning. Personally, I think $2, $3, $5 and even $10 are rookie numbers. I think $100 or even more is very much possible. But it all depends on how we handle this. On a serious note, do whatever the heck u want. It's your stock. You own it. You know ur financial situation best and you know how much u need to make a certain decision. All I'm saying is, based on what happened in 2021 and what we learned from that (for as much we are able to learn as a bunch of retards), it is very much possible to gain more from this than many of you are imagining right now. Like, seriously more. But it requires patience and persistence. Let the smart ones talk when it comes to details that help us in assessing whether to hold or not.
This is basically all u need to know. Now I will be on my way to the fucking moon. Hopefully I'll see you stupid dipshits there.
None of this is financial advice. I'm a fucking idiot and I don't know how to read or count past five. I never went to school as I failed my sanity tests as a kid and don't know how to apply for school.

2024.05.17 12:23 leelahspeelahs Questions

What are some other providers you guys would recommend for a pre approval letter? I used chase and have one letter a o far. It's my understanding that you can go to many. It seems they plug in numbers and then they give you an amount you can borrow. Will the numbers be generally the same with other lenders? Currently they are quoting a 6.7 interest rate.
Also other random questions:
What does your home security set up cost?
How did you find your inspector? How much did they cost?
Thanks everyone - I am considering buying a home.

2024.05.17 12:17 QuietChaos333 YA book read 1990s - teens stranded on an island with an injured adult during a sheep mustering trip

I borrowed this one from the library. I read it in Australia as a teen in the 1990s. It could have been written earlier, hard to be sure. It might be an Australian or NZ book but not confident of that.
Had the same 'young person (people) overcome a difficult situation' coming of age feeling as Blue Fin by Colin Thiele.
It wasn't hugely long. Probably that thumb width size of book of many YA books with under 300 pages.
The MCs were kids/teens (one boy, one girl I think), possibly siblings or cousins, who go by boat to an island with their father or uncle or male relative to round up sheep. Pretty sure they get dropped off, with the boat not scheduled to return until a specific point in several weeks at least.
There are sheep left on the island to graze during certain parts of the year which need to be rounded up so they can be transported off the island for sale or similar. During this trip, the teens are supposed to be helping out but early on the adult is badly injured, possibly a broken leg, he might not be lucid all of the time. I think they have to rig up splinting and a litter to get him from wherever he injures himself back to the shepherd's hut. It's pretty basic accommodation as it's only used for a few weeks a year.
They have to keep him and themselves fed and warm in the shepherd's hut on the island (lots of tinned food), and care for his injury with very few medical supplies. There's mention of scratchy woollen blankets, simple camping cots, no electricity, cooking on a woodfire stovetop. There's no way to call for help, either no radio or it's broken. The weather is often blustery and unpleasant as the island is of a size where wind off the ocean comes from every direction.
During the day, they check in on the injured adult and still do the work to round up the sheep because the family will need the money. At night they use a lantern and maybe a mirror to flash an SOS message out to sea (towards the mainland?) in the hopes a passing ship will see it.
I can't remember if a ship sees the SOS or the original boat just comes back when it's scheduled to but eventually a boat does come. The teens/kids have managed to keep the adult alive and the sheep are all rounded up and waiting in the pens to be collected. Pretty sure the book ends with them all being taken onto the boat, knowing the adult will finally get medical care and a bit of 'how'd you manage this all by yourselves' acknowledgement of the challenges they faced.
I've been googling into the void with different word combinations and even with this level of detail, I've had no luck so far. If anyone can give me any clues or knows what this book is, that would be amazing.

2024.05.17 12:04 tareekpetareek Manpasand was an accounting fraud with beverages on the side

Letā€™s say youā€™re a company that wants to commit an elaborate fraud. What is the most egregious fraud that you can think of?
Maybe letā€™s not start with egregious. Letā€™s start with something simple! Hereā€™s something thatā€™s reasonably common:
  1. Pay people to buy your product (or like give them huge discounts or whatever). Inflate your revenue. Lie about your actual customers.
  2. Hype your company up. Do an IPO, take your company public. Sell some of your own stock.
  3. Slowly try fixing your numbers. If you happen to succeed, thatā€™s great! You win. If you donā€™t succeed, you still win? Youā€™ve done your IPO and sold some stock. Thatā€™s a lot of money.
This is the simple kind of fraud, which also makes it difficult to identify. You might have to talk to the companyā€™s customers, read the fine print in its disclosures, do sanity checks of its financials, that sort of stuff. Itā€™s tough to catch the simple kind of fraud, which is also why so much of it exists in the form of whispers and rumours without ever getting proven.
Now letā€™s go egregious:
  1. Why pay people to buy your product? Hell, why even have a product? Just manifest in your imagination that there are hundreds of thousands of people buying whatever youā€™re selling and write it down.
  2. Hype your company up! Do an IPO, sell some stock. This part remains the same.
  3. Donā€™t bother fixing your numbers. Instead, keep publishing imaginary revenue figures. Keep selling stock to public investors. Publish your financials every quarter with whatever numbers you like.
If you do this, thereā€™s only so far you can go. Eventually, your hype will attract attention and someone might figure out that both your customers and product were creative imagination.
Hereā€™s a SEBI order from late in April about Manpasand Beverages. Manpasand used to be a beverages company based in Gujarat. In 2019 the company shut down because it got caught in a bunch of frauds. Itā€™s only now that SEBI published the details of what was happening. Probably best summarised by fund manager Amit Mantri: [1]
https://preview.redd.it/25d5f1phny0d1.jpg?width=603&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1feaa1afa5f56420c74c5887202a6ac80630fcd

Fake it till you make it (or donā€™t)

Manpasand faked its revenue (of course). It also faked its expenses, customers, vendors, tax liabilities, etc. How did it get away with doing this stuff? I donā€™t know, someoneā€™s gotta ask Deloitte. They were Manpasandā€™s auditor for eight years, resigning only in 2018. The companyā€™s fraud came out officially in 2019ā€”Deloitte, whose job was to make sure the books were right and also had access to all the inside information, figured that something was off only a year earlier!
Anyway, SEBI appointed its own auditor to figure out what was wrong with Manpasandā€™s accounts and the auditor came back with a bunch of stuff. [2]
Hereā€™s the bit about Manpasand inflating its revenue. From SEBIā€™s order:
ā€¦ CGST vide letter dated July 07, 2019, inter alia, informed that Manpasand had shown inflated sales figure in its balance sheet by way of receipt/ supply of fake invoices without actual receipt/ supply of goods. It was further informed in the said letter that Manpasand had floated 38 bogus/paper firms to inflate its turnover and that inward and outward transactions made with such bogus firms amount to Rs.188.48 Crore and Rs. 691.30 Crore, respectively.
Manpasand created 38 different companies and it both ā€œsoldā€ its products to those companies as well as ā€œboughtā€ stuff from some of them. Basically, Manpasand created...
Please continue the read on the original source, the post is a bit long to be posted here.]
