We document countless attacks on people, pets and livestock; expose all layers of propaganda and value safety and peace of mind in our homes and communities. “The truth is often ridiculed and scorned. It is then violently opposed, and then it becomes self evident.”

2024.05.31 16:34 n217062 Memory timeline part 10: Syndicate

Part ten covers Syndicate. I've done my best to get the dates as accurate and precise as possible. All of the dates are sourced directly from the game and the Underworld novel, along with other research that's been noted below.
Despite the order that the main sequence memories are listed in on the game's progress tracker, this is not the correct chronological order of events. In fact, it's not even possible to play the memories in this order since Jacob's assassination memories always have to be played last in each sequence. Though for Evie's memories specifically, the progress tracker's order is consistent with the order that the numbered entries in Evie's notebook are unlocked, which furthermore is consistent with how events are described in the Underworld novel. However, there are still a few additional conflicts between the game and the novel due to the order in which the game forces certain memories to be played. Further details on this topic will be found in the notes below.\1])
I did not include any of the side content from the Jack the Ripper DLC on the timeline. Due to the short timeframe of the DLC's story (from Evie's return to London to her assassination of Jack, the DLC spans roughly ten days), I find it implausible that Evie wasted time doing all these activities that bear little to no relevance to her primary investigation. Additionally, several of the DLC's side activities feature historically anachronistic characters and plot points. So for the purposes of the timeline, I found that it made more sense to just not include any of it.
Part 1: AC1 + Altaïr's Chronicles & Bloodlines
Part 2: AC2 + Discovery
Part 3: Brotherhood
Part 4: Revelations
Part 5: AC3
Part 6: Liberation + Black Flag Aveline DLC
Part 7: Black Flag + Freedom Cry
Part 8: Rogue
Part 9: Unity
Sequences 1–3: 1868 (Evie & Jacob aged 20)
Sequences 4–5: 1868 (Evie & Jacob aged 20/Starrick aged 40)
Sequences 6–7: 1868 (Evie & Jacob aged 20/Starrick aged 40–41)
Liberating the rest of London: 1868 (Evie & Jacob aged 20)
Sequences 8–9: 1868 (Evie & Jacob aged 20–21/Starrick aged 41)
Epilogue + remaining side memories: 1868–1869 (Evie & Jacob aged 21–22)
Jack the Ripper: 1888 (Evie aged 40–41/Jack aged 28)
World War I: 1916 (Lydia aged 23)
\1]) Through a combination of the game's progress tracker, Evie's notebook, and the Underworld novel, the most logical order for the main sequence memories is as follows:
\2]) Charles Dickens' only appearance in the main story is during Somewhere That's Green, which takes place in February 1868. This encounter that Dickens has with the twins is not historically possible since he was in the United States from November 1867 to April 1868. He would not return to London until 2 May 1868. Therefore all of Dickens' London stories most likely take place at some point after his return to London in either the spring or summer of 1868.
\3]) The gang leader ambushes all trigger at specific points during each borough's liberation. The ambushes in Whitechapel, Lambeth, City of London, and the Strand trigger upon the completion of the last gang stronghold in each borough. The ambushes in Southwark and Westminster trigger upon the completion of the last child liberation in each borough. And the ambush in the Thames triggers upon the completion of the last bounty hunt in the borough.
\4]) John Elliotson's historical date of death is 29 July 1868, but the game depicts his death happening earlier in the year as he's the first target that Jacob assassinates in London. Similarly, James Brudenell's historical date of death is 28 March 1868 (interestingly the game actually does list this death date for Brudenell in his database entry), but the game depicts his death happening later in the year during deliberations on the Corrupt Practices Act in July 1868.
\5]) Two of Charles Darwin's London stories feature historical anachronisms. In The Berlin Specimen, the fossil being recovered is the Berlin specimen of Archaeopteryx which wasn't discovered until 1874. In Cruel Caricature, the caricature of Darwin is the "A Venerable Orang-outang" editorial cartoon that was first published in The Hornet magazine on 22 March 1871. The last Darwin memory mentions him leaving London to be with his family on the Isle of Wight, which he historically did on 17 July 1868. Darwin and his family stayed there for five weeks during which a famous photograph of Darwin was taken by Julia Margaret Cameron.
\6]) During the events of sequence 9, William Gladstone is campaigning against Benjamin Disraeli for the position of Prime Minister. The 1868 United Kingdom general election occurred from 17 November to 7 December. Gladstone won the election and officially stepped into the role of Prime Minister on 3 December. Disraeli's last day as Prime Minister had been two days earlier. Since Disraeli is still Prime Minister during the last Queen Victoria memory, that means the events of sequence 9 and the Queen Victoria memories all take place in November 1868.
\7]) There's no historical record of Arthur Conan Doyle visiting London as a child. From 1868 to 1870, Doyle was attending Hodder Place, a Jesuit preparatory school in Lancashire. There's a record of the school being temporarily closed for renovations in 1869. Given that the Dreadful Crimes memories most likely take place after the main story, it's logical to conclude that they happened in 1869 during a period when Doyle wasn't attending school and could've plausibly traveled to London.

Sionia
Chapter 17
Map First Previous
The morning suns were hidden behind dark purple low hanging clouds building off to the northwest. It appeared like it would be a rainy wet soaked day ahead. The night past without incident with the mellow somber mood after the battle and loss of two of our people. Stretching outside my carriage with my back and neck making popping sounds, Tiana came bounding up with Rana on her heels.
“Good morrow Lord Wyatt. I have set up a place for you to wash up.” Said Tiana as she approached with one of my earth towels draped over her arm.
"Would you like to change clothes, Lord Wyatt?” Asked Rana before I could answer Tiana.
“Bring me a shirt and you can wash this one. Also, could you wash my socks too, please.” I answered Rana.
“Yes, of course, I will!” Replied Rana with excitement as her face lit up.
“Lead the way.” I said to Tiana with a smile.
Following Tiana, Gus and Lukas quickly appeared behind me as I was led into the far enclosure where maybe fifty soldiers could camp in safety. Inside the enclosure, the privacy screen had been erected with a section set aside specifically for me. I could hear the girls along with Freya's and Prima's voice as they washed up on the other side of the cloth screen. If you looked hard enough, you could see through the cloth screen but I diverted my eyes as I did not want anyone to think I was a pervert.
Gus and Tiana removed my clothing where Rana quickly took my t-shirt, underwear and socks to wash them. Tiana had already set up the bronze bowl and began washing me as she had done before with the same scented soap. Once done, Gus dried me off where Tiana applied the scented oil to my body which was this world's version of deodorant. Gus began tying the strings of the cotton lien underwear from this world. It reminded me of bikini bottoms back on earth as it had two string ties on each side of my waist and a tie on each thigh. When Gus finished, I put my pants back on and Lukas brought me my leather slippers.
Both Gus and Tiana remarked that my newest wound looked angry and swollen which I just shrugged as Tiana replaced my bandage. Rana brought me the blue shirt I had removed when I put on the chain mail. With my dressing done, I decided I needed to check on all the wounded. Walking over to the cart which held Guntar, Cleef, Moe and Roland where Tobin now well enough was joking with Cleef. Cleef actually started to look normal as his face was no longer swollen on one side and his scar looked to have fully scabbed and closing up.
“Hey Tobin, you are looking much better. Are you able to ride?” I asked for Tobin had been sick since the battle with the rogue mercenaries where he rode on the driver's bench with our departed Luke the last couple of days.
“I can ride but I can not fight at full strength yet. Maybe in another two days or so I should be back to normal.” Tobin said as he did look thin and emaciated.
“I see. Can you perhaps drive the baggage cart? I am short drivers.” I asked with explanation.
“I can drive one of the carts but I do not think it wise for me to do much else. “Said Cleef as he leaned forward with a desperate look of escape from riding in the back of the cart.
“Well, doctor to be Johannas, can Cleef drive a cart? Also, Tobin here. Can he also drive one?” I asked Johannas the apprentice doctor as he was treating Moe.
“Yes, both can drive a cart but we will need to check on them. I am sure the fresh air will do them good.” Said Johannas giving his approval.
“Good. Cleef, Tobin it will rain here in a bit. So, wear your cloak to keep yourself dry.” I advised as the men were already crawling out of the cart happy to be released from the doctor's restrictions.
“Guntar, how are you faring?” I asked with a smile.
“Fair enough. Just bored and frustrated.” Guntar complained once again.
“He is alright. Just seeking sympathy. Another five to six days and he can start swinging his sword to get his fighting strength back and can start riding a bit.” Interjected Johannas with Guntar giving him a hard look.
“That is good. Moe there does not look very good. What do you need?” I asked Johannas as he was mopping Moe's head that had a huge bump on the side which drew my attention.
“We will have to do surgery today as his skull is dented. We also need to do surgery on Roland to fix his broken collar bone as well.” Johannas stated with concern.
“So, we need to stay here for a couple of days then?” I asked with concern.
“I believe so. What say you Rowland Macy?” Johannas said in a weird squeaky tone looking past me.
“You know I hate it when you do that Johannas Gimbel in a similar weird tone. Ignore his competitive sparing. However, Lord Wyatt, I concur. We are what five or so days out from Camelot? That is just too far for travel right now. If we did not have to deal with that dent in his head, I would say we could move on tomorrow morning or the next day for sure.” Stated Rowland giving his opinion which Johannas just nodded in agreement.
“Very well. I will leave you to it. Let me know if you men need anything.” I replied with a nod and walked on to the next cart.
“Sir Jas, you seem to be to be doing well and even able to bend your leg now.” I remarked at Sir Jas' improvement since the last time I had closely looked him over.
'Yes, it does not throb all the time anymore. Doc says I can ride a florse in maybe in two weeks for short periods.” Said Sir Jas with a big smile.
Good. Glad to hear it. Reagan, how are you doing?” I replied and then focused my concern on Reagan.
“I have felt better. At times I feel great other times I feel totally crappy. Right now, I feel like crap.” Reagan complained.
“He has a slight fever and I suspect he may have some bad blood in the belly wound. It happens when the digestive tubes are injured. Just takes time for them to heal properly. He needs some Snapdragon, True Ahailim and Florse tail Germande tea. A few Skull nuts would also help. We could use about a hands worth of Gentian and some Apple Garnet fruit as they will help improve his digestive tubes more quickly.” Stated Rowland as he was the one assigned to this cart.
“Alrighty then, I will see what I can do. Write down exactly what you need.” I answered in earnest.
Rowland pulled out a piece of rough paper from what appeared as his journal and wrote down a short list of items. When Rowland finished, he handed it to me.
“Very good.” I said to Rowland and then gave a salute to Sir Jas and Reagan.
I read the list as I began walking away. The names listed seemed familiar save a couple. I knew of Snapdragon as it was a stalky green plant with reddish purple flowers with yellow pistol centers. Skull nut I had heard of but could not place it. Gentian, I knew well for it was just an ornamental stalky plant in front of my home back on earth. The rest I was not sure about. Looking up, I found Lars talking with Zack by the main entrance to the outpost where I waved and called out to them.
“Lars, Zack over here. The apprentice doctors need some healing herbs. Where is the closest town from here that we can get herbs from?” I asked looking at the two,
“Lanyon, Lord Wyatt.” Replied Lars with a salute with fist double chest bump and Zack nodding in agreement.
“Perhaps send Nick with a florse or two to gather these items. Better yet, meet up with Aura and Silvia and ask them to get these. Also, get two bottles of some really good quality spirytus.” I stated as I handed Lars the list I had.
“At your command, Lord Wyatt.” Lars replied and took the the list.
“I think Fang and Dagmar should accompany Nick. Make it easier to handle the florses and provide some protection on the road.” Zack suggested as he began waving at Dagmar.
“OK. Make sure they understand we need these items quickly. They need to return back as soon as possible even if they could not get one of the items on the list in Lanyon. Here is three sceats. I do not want to hear that they did not have enough money to buy what is need!” I stated my concern with urgency and handing over the money I pulled from my pocket.
“It will be done.” Said Zack with a salute and he jogged over to Dagmar and calling for Fang and Lars heading off toward the florse stall where Nick was sitting on a bench.
Big Jake having listened to my exchange with Lars and Zack, came over.
“Lord Wyatt. Can I send Jason with them to get some food supplies we are going to need?” Asked Big Jake scratching his left shoulder as he looked uncomfortable asking.
“Very Well. Lars, Jason will be getting food supplies as well. He will need at least two extra florses to pack the food back.” I stated the addition to the planned errand.
Digging in my pocket, I pulled out the coins I had which was one silver, two erythro, two sceats and six koper. I then handed Nick the sceats and koper.
“I expect what is not spent to be returned to me. I better not hear that you bought things you should not have done. Remember, I will know the truth for Pamba will let me know!” I warned Nick with Fang and Jason standing next to him.
I spent the next hour being examined by old Maude as I had developed a high fever from the infected wound. Old Maude made a concoction to reduce my fever. Once I gagged down that awful stuff, Old Maude began the slow process of draining puss out of my wound but eventually had to remove a stitch to clean it out properly. When she was done, I had her pour the brandy she had onto my wound with Rowland watching before she replaced the stitch.
“Why did you ask her to do that? It has to be very painful?” Asked Rowland with a confused look.
Spirytus will help remove the things that cause the infection. It can not prevent it but it definitely helps. It also helps to clean your tools so that bad stuff from a sick patient does not make another patient ill with the same kind of illness when the second did not have it to begin with.” I remarked knowledge from earth.
“I understand. I often wondered why children who I saw get the little one's pocken when they only had a fever with leaking nose shortly after the doctor had seen other children who had little pocken with their the red blisters.” Rowland replied to my comment.
“I see. We call that illness chicken pox back home. The name is do to a misunderstanding where it looked like a really bad and deadly illness called small pox that has tiny white blisters instead of red ones you described. I know pocken is shortened from Windpocken.” I stated what I understood was the basis for the name chicken pox and the old high German variant of the name Rowland used.
“I see. So, the use of spirytus after we wipe down the instruments is the key.” Rowland stated as he was thinking hard about what I had said earlier.
“Actually, cleaning them is just the first step. Instruments should be made of study metal. To insure they are clean, they should be boiled. Boiling the instruments in water absolutely kills the little things that cause illness and should be done often. Even after the instruments have been cleaned, you should apply spirytus before and after you have seen patients to prevent illness from transferring to a new patient.” I advised with more earth wisdom.
“I understand. I will see that we follow that advise before we do surgery in a bit. Right now, we are having the small feed storeroom cleaned as we will do the surgery there. Can not do it here while its raining dripping water everywhere while we work.” Rowland stated.
“I see. May success be yours in the surgery. I assume you will remove the broken bone from the depression?” I said and confirming the type of surgery.
“You know of this type of surgery?” Asked Rowland with surprised shock.
“Yes. I even have seen it done on a small animal pet as I was asked to help in the surgery.” I stated what I had seen with one of my first dogs that got hit by a car back on earth.
“Wow. I only got to see it with other new students who rushed to the city of Verdonia after the pirates from the Union of Fordia crossed the Umber River and sacked the city. That was the three cycle war! We should not have allowed them to sue for peace when we were winning and could have destroyed them once and for all.” Rowland stated excitedly followed by his disappointment.
“I see. Well, I have nothing to say about that. Given that I am not feeling great, I think I will go to my carriage and lay down. If you need anything, do not hesitate to come to me. Call out to me if anyone tries to stop you.” I stated with a nod as I headed to my carriage.
“Thank you, Lord Wyatt. You do not know how much you have helped this day.” Rowland stated with a bow and ran off toward the florse enclosure.
I set up the makeshift bed in the carriage. Just before I laid down, I heard Pamba whining with a bark to let her in. I opened the door where Pamba jumped up running under the platform before crawling up on to the front bench. When I laid down, Pamba deliberately walked over my belly and curled up in the crook of my right arm. With a sigh, I closed my eyes.
I woke up at the knock on the side of the carriage. Reaching over, I just opened the door as I did not feel like raising up.
“Yes.” I called out not bothering to see who it was.
“Lord Wyatt, the mid day meal is ready. Would you like me to see you are served?” Asked Gus.
“No, I think I will sleep for a while. Do not let my sleeping stop others from eating.” I said and motioned for the door to be closed.
“Very good, Lord Wyatt.” Gus replied and closed the door.
Some time later, my eyes snapped open at the shout from one of the guards on watch and people running.
“Wyvern!” Shouted someone outside the carriage.
I suddenly was struggling to sit up while trying not to crush Pamba in the process. After struggling to find and pull on my slippers, I stepped out of the carriage fumbling with my weapons belt. It was already well into the evening with the first sun setting low in the sky. Looking up and around, I could not see anything. Walking toward the main enclosure, I saw a couple of guards pointing toward the north northeastern horizon that I could not see from the ground level over the high walls of the outpost
Lars had run up onto the narrow perch and was looking out to where the guards had pointed to. Turning, I saw Freya with Prima walking toward me.
“Please tell me you are felling better?' Asked Freya showing her concern.
“Good evening, Freya, Prima. Yes, I am feeling much better. Even my wound is much better as well.” I replied and nodded to Prima with a wink.
“That is a relief. I hope you will eat with us this evening.” Freya asked expectantly.
“Yes, that would be lovely. Though, I am not sure the food will be something to singing about.” I stated with a short laugh.
“One of the Adventurers shot a deer. It has been roasting over the fire now for a couple of hours. It smells incredibly delicious.” Freya said with a smile.
“Sounds good. Before we enjoy ourselves. I need to see how the surgeries went.” I replied with a nod and went over to the carts. Johannas was standing next to the cart with Rowland writing in his medial diary.
As I approached, Johannas looked up and smiled followed by Rowland.
“Good evening, Lord Wyatt.” Said both Johannas and Rowland at the same time.
“Good Evening. I came to see how the surgeries went.” I asked and was shocked at their expression.
“You came to check on them?” Asked Rowland as he found a way to speak first.
“Why wouldn't I? The men are apart of my people. The health, safety and well-being of my people is important.” I stated with my brow furrowed and a heavy frown.
“I am glad you feel that way. Most nobles do not bother checking personally. Rather, they wait until a report is made by an officer or if conversation presents that topic.” Stated Rowland with a brief frown as Johannas nodding his agreement.
“I am not like other nobles. For one, I actually believe my success is tied to my people's success. When they are doing well, I will be doing well. Last thing I want is having to deal with uprisings and vengeful people who feel abused, used or robbed.” I explained what I knew from earth history.
“You are so right. Just five cycle ago, Baron Gewis was stabbed walking down the street of Trikath not far from his manor. It was said he treated the citizens there badly and constantly demanding tribute while increasing rents and then ordering a new tax on goods in shops. Now, Baron Hensen Jorjid has the title to Trikath. I hear he has struggled to earn the trust of the people.
“Trikath appeared lively and prosperous when I was there. I have not met Baron Jorjid as I stayed at Lord Tinsen's castle.” I replied about my observation of the city.
“It only just started to be peaceful and prosperous. It was not always like that. King Leon had to visit the city a couple of times to address the people as they kept complaining to him.” Rowland said with Johannas nodding in agreement.
“I see. Well, back to the men. How did the surgery go?” I asked again.
“It went as good as can be expected. I wish we had the herbs we need. It would make me feel much better.” Johannas said as he shook his head.
“I sent Nick to get the herbs Rowland listed. They are expected back anytime.” I stated what I had done.
“Thank you! You do not know how much that will help. You are indeed a most worthy noble!” Johannas stated where he and Rowland saluted and bowed deep.
“I am flattered. Get something to eat and some rest if you can.” I replied with a nod and went to seek out Freya.
I went back to the large camp area were Gus had adjusted the screened off portion to give more privacy. I also noticed all three carriages moved over while I spoke to the doctors. The Carriages formed a U shape where the open end faced the wash up enclosure. A nice fire was going from transferred hot coals.
I saw Freya sitting on the ground atop a scrap of cloth with Charlie sitting cross-legged next to her. Realizing I would have to sit on the ground, I made a decision. Going back to my cart, I retrieved the two folded up chairs and the camping table.
“What are those?” Prima asked as she was the first to see me walking up with both hands full.
“Something for me to sit on and a portable table to put food and drink on.” I replied as I began setting up the first chair to the surprise of Freya and Charlie.
“That is amazing.” Said Freya when she saw the chair fully unfolded.
“Please have a seat. I will set the other up next to it with the table in between.” I said as I sat up the chairs so that they were facing the fire and the curtained off enclosure.
“You two look like Lord and Lady of the castle.” Said Charlie as Prima pulled him into her lap as she had moved to sit on the scrap of cloth.
“You should say, your Lordship and Ladyship. You must speak properly now so you do not get punished severely when you get older.” Prima admonished Charlie with a hug.
“Yes, ah, Lady Prima.” Charlie answered and smiled when everyone gave a short laugh.
“Tell me Prima, who and what rank is your father?” I asked given the way Charlie addressed Prima.
“My father is General Stig Asulf and my mother is Gunda who is on the Counsel of Wings.”
“Counsel of Wings? What is that exactly?” I asked as I cocked my head slightly.
“They are the leaders of the Valors and Valkyries. They also act together as a elite fighting force. They oversee the rights to become a Valor or Valkyrie by a vote of a white or black pebble. The Counsel of Wings also oversees the breeding of Pegasis horses that was a special gift from Atlantia, about one thousand five hundred or so cycles ago, when King Odinn offered to fight against the monsters of Niflandia that escaped their underground realm inside Atlantia. Those monsters also appeared here on Sionia through the maelstrom in the Thermogon Wasteland and ravaged mostly unchecked across Sionia and why we have monsters here to this day. King Odinn led his army and defeated most of the monsters here on Sionia and offered to fight on Atlantia to save their city of Atlantis that was being besieged by the sheer number of monsters. The Atlanteans agreed and our good King helped turn the tide and defeated the monsters. To honor Asgardia for this sacrifice, a Valor is chosen to guard the Bifrigia gate on Atlantia every ten cycles. City of Atlantis' reward was Pegasis horses to Asgardia for saving their city. These Pegasis horses were in turn given to the thirty nine survivors. The fourteen captains who led the valiant fight became the first Counsel of Wings charged with care and careful breeding of all Pegasis horses. Every ten years since that time, Atlantia and Asgardia exchange a number of Pegasis for breeding to keep the bloodlines strong.” Prima explained Asgardian history.
“I see. The High Elves also have Pegasis. How did they come by them?” I asked thinking back to Princess Astrid.
“Asgardia gave Pegasis to them over the cycles for their help in our times of need. I know we gave them four a little over two hundred cycles ago when my grandfather's grandfather King Oram Thor received medicine when he was poisoned by a basilisk while hunting that saved him from certain death.” Freya answered with more Asgardian history.
“So, Pegasis which you called horses instead of florses are originally from Atlantia?” I asked for I knew the term horse back on earth.
“Yes, well sort of. I am not really sure. Atlantia has some florses there but they have another similar animal they call horses that do not have wings like Pegasus. It was said those horses came from another world. In fact, we got the first Pegasis horse as a gift for Asgardia's sacrifice when Atlantia had hired a band of our warriors as mercenaries who were lost never to be seen again in an expedition to that unknown world. That was over three thousand cycles ago.” Prima explained more history.
“I see. Thank you for the lesson.” I replied with a smile.
The evening meal was decent and everyone seem more relaxed even some started playing some music. Just as we finished the meal, Rolf, one of my house guards, called that riders were approaching from the north. About forty minutes later, Nick and Fang rode through the florse gate followed by Aura, Silvia and Dagmar.
“We have returned. The first florse has the medicinal herbs. The rest contain food.” Nick announced as soon as he dismounted giving me a salute with a fist double chest bump.
“I see. Good. Was there any trouble I need to know about?” I asked crossing my arms.
“There is word that part of the Mardor army that attacked the Black Gate of Rowan had broken through and is moving westward. Perhaps that was the group we fought.” Stated Fang as he walked up.
“I also heard that the Second Order of Knights were able to regroup and push the Mardor army back where they secured the walled keep of Rowan that guards the Black Gate. It is said they lost a lot of knights and are requesting immediate reinforcements as they can not hope to hold the keep of Rowan without more men.” Dagmar reported what she had heard.
“The news in Lanyon is all the lords are taking men between thirteen and forty to fill the levy army King Leon has ordered assembled. The levies north of Paradise River are to meet in Fortress Buanna at Trikath. Those south and east of the Red River are to meet at Fortress Tririth. All the rest are to meet either in Camelot or Keep of Rowan.” Nick answered with his bit of news.
“Lars, have Ivor and Nick scout to the north and east tomorrow. We definitely need to be wary just in case there is an army out there. If they find anything, we move out immediately to the capital.” I stated my order aloud to let everyone know what the plan would be in case of an emergency.
“As you command, Lord Wyatt.” Lars answered with a salute and a fist double chest bump.
“Lord Wyatt. I want to apologize. We spent ten mites for lodging and food when you did not arrive in Lanyon. We thought it best to stay in the city rather than camp out just in case you came very late near or after the wolf hour.” Aura said with a salute then bowed deeply with Silvia doing the same offering the remainder of the money I had given them.
“That is fine. You used good judgment. That is all I can ask of anyone. You did not throw money away on something useless or getting drunk. So, well done. In fact, divide the money between you. Use it wisely in the future for good as loyal servants of House of Wyatt.” I said with a smile.
“Thank you, Lord Wyatt.” Said both Aura and Silvia almost in unison where they bowed slightly more deeply.
“Well, get something to eat and then some rest.” I stated and motioned my arms for everyone to began dispersing.
With everyone in a more jovial mood, I excused myself as I stated I was tired and needed some rest. Tiana met me at the carriage where she undressed and washed me. Rana came and gave me one of my sport shorts and a t shirt and promised to wash my shirt after I stopped her from taking my blue jeans. Tiana applied the scented oils and helped dressed me. Thanking Tiana, I called to Pamba who came and jumped into my arms and crawled up onto my neck where she rubbed her cheek next to mine. I sought out my bed in the carriage more to think about what I had learned but sleep overcame me quickly before I could contemplate anything.

2024.05.31 00:00 chuwucreates Endless Space RPG: Species Variants

I think the best example of this dilemma is the Mezari. Mezari are the main species of many major and minor factions throughout the series and it poses a question. Faction options, build guides, or species variants?
I like Mezari as a default human option type but with Sheredyn, Pilgrims, Vaulters, and more, I have to ask if their inclusion as a more specialized but less choice option would be better or if they should be limited to faction. An idea I'm playing with however is giving Mezari a racial feat for lack of a better term list to pick from during character creation. Giving players a bloodline from the Mezari subtypes and an ability or trait that relates to that bloodline but not requiring them to give up the flexibility of playing the species. Not dissimilar to picking a dragonborn color in D&D. I think this could also be a good way to include a choice between other subspecies.

2024.05.30 22:39 AwkwardRomancer Falling for a cast mate

I (19NB) met someone (18F) late last year (Fall, I believe) and we've gotten along pretty well the whole time I've known her. I always thought she was gorgeous, but I didn't think a whole lot of her until more recently. I met her through my brother and some friends because they were doing a play with her. She also attended a party that I was also at the second night of the show and we talked a bit. She seemed really smart, funny, and kind. I was definitely interested in getting to know her better, but I didn't have a way to keep in touch, so I kinda didn't really think about her much until I saw her name on the cast list of the musical I'm doing. She also came to see a play I just did and tagged along to the cast party afterwards at a restaurant. We sat across from each other and chatted a lot the whole time and we got along well. I had a little bit of a crush on her then, but not much. A couple days later I texted her because she had talked a lot about literature over dinner so I wanted to run a book idea I had by her. She was very interested in that conversation and we started talking a lot every day and realizing we had a ton in common. I started seriously falling for her.
We both have a long list of books we've been meaning to read (she has an actual list, I just have a mental one lol) so I was going to ask her if she wanted to maybe find one that was on both of our lists and read it together. She beat me to it by asking me to study together. We stayed up until about 3:30AM talking the other night and she asked (since we're both trying to get our licenses) if I wanted to study with her. Of course I said yes, so we made plans to study before rehearsal that evening. We met up at a library and studied. We mostly just studied but we chatted a bit and laughed a lot, too. It didn't feel like a date, but it felt like she was trying to see how we worked 1-on-1. We went to rehearsal and I didn't get to really interact with her there, but then my friend invited me to come to his place after to hang out with our friend group, so I asked him if I could invite her. He teased me, but gave the go-ahead so I messaged her and she said yes, so instead of taking her home after rehearsal she came with us to hang out.
She's a very anxious person so she was kinda quiet, but she seemed to enjoy herself. I sat next to her on the couch while we watched TV and talked. Not very close, but next to her. We talked a lot as a group and individually, she randomly grabbed my arm while talking to me, but I didn't object, and at some point my friend's dog played wingman and literally shoved me closer to her. This is a big ass pitbull, I had no choice in the matter, even if I wanted to. She didn't seem to mind because she had room to move over, but didn't. We put on a movie to watch and she and I talked so long a couple times it annoyed members of the group a bit, but they were understanding. We have rehearsal again tonight and I'm trying to work up the courage to ask her out. She said she really likes going to the movies so I might ask her to see a movie with me. One of my best friend's works at a nice movie theater in her city and one of the perks is he can get a certain number of people in for free per week, so I might ask him if I can do that. My brother is both her and my ride so I'll try to work up the courage to offer to walk her to her door. I'll update this post after with how things go.

2024.05.30 21:10 Ever6srs [QCrit] Further (YA Fantasy, 66k, 1st Attempt)

Edit: Just wanted to say thanks again to the community and to those who took time to look this over. Thank you. Truly. You guys have been wonderful, and I feel a little more aware of myself and course-corrected. If that is a way to feel.
Hello, friends!
I am writing a query letter for my first novel and would love your input and feedback. Also, I am having trouble finding some comparable novels. Something along the lines of magical refugees? Found families? Or just point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance. Your community has been wonderful in helping navigate my first drafts. I truly appreciate it.
Dear [Agent],
Days after Mayy Ventol lost her child, the enemy alliance set fire to the capital of her home. She gathers her adoptive family—the queen and royal children—to flee. However, soldiers have also breached the castle. By the time they reach the shores outside the city, only Mayy and her young siblings remain. In desperation, she boards the children on a small boat in effort to save what is left of her family, but the current that should have brought them to allied territory instead carries them further out to sea and to lands unknown.
Fifteen years later, Mayy’s younger brother and sister struggle to fit in with the people of their new home. Villagers have their suspicions and whisper how these outsiders don’t belong. They are Burners: attuned to the element of fire and enemy of the territory. Their secret is revealed when the youngest sister risks her life to rescue a friend from a house fire.
As officials move to apprehend the Ventols for their crimes, Mayy prepares for another escape only to find they’ve been tracked down by the nemesis of their homeland. He would see the bloodline ended. Not even the vast ocean and nearly two decades could free the last son and daughter of a kingdom destroyed. Pursued by the enemy of their past, wanted as illegal refugees, the Ventols put their trust in a stranger and journey in search of a rumored city state neutral to all elemental attunements.
FURTHER is complete at 66,000 words. Given your interest in fantasy and heroines, I thought the story would be a good fit for your list.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
Ever6srs

2024.05.30 15:27 Snalaa My long, in-depth wish list for WWE 2K25!

Look, I know the game is only three months old, but I couldn't help myself. I've absolutely loved 2K24 so far, probably the best instalment since 2K19, but there are so many things I'd love added/fixed that could make next year's game even better. Hopefully some devs can see this and take notes! ;)
Anyways, here's my long, probably unrealistic wish list.

Gameplay

Universe Mode

Revamp the whole damn thing, please.

Other

That's about it (so far). I'd love to hear everybody's thoughts and things on your wish list!

2024.05.30 03:23 RingoldMarinerIII (Very Distressed)trying to help these abandoned puppies ultimately led to their death.

**Disclaimer: First and foremost I was considering making a throwaway account but I'm really past the point of giving a shit about much of anything in life. I've been so bothered by my dream last night that I really need to reach out to someone knowledgeable.
Unfortunately the yellow pages does not list any expert dream interpreters only psychologists and psychics, sometimes, I feel they're equally full of bullshit. I beg of you to take me seriously. I say this because I've done a lot of fooling around on reddit. Though I am as serious as a heart attack. I have been in love and extremely protective towards dogs my whole life, not into cats nearly as much but I understand their appeal; I have an unfounded suspicion that everyone on reddit owns a cat. I am saying this because I am scared as to why I would have a dream with dogs dying, especially puppies. I'll go further to say that my love for dogs is so strong that I seriously hurt a man abusing a dog at one point and literally had no control over myself while it happened. Just trying to impress upon y'all how much I care for dogs. I like people as long as I'm not around them for too long...the feeling is mutual, generally.
The Dream
I was going around a place with strange architecture. The building were cylindrical, had a feel of a campus. The people there, I felt detached from., I felt like I didn't belong. Weird stuff started to happen, I wish I could describe it better. The rooms started to get strange, people were rushing around. I felt like I started to get tossed around by a boss I had in the past. Like her voice in my head was telling me to complete tasks. Things were getting weird and ok couldn't do much because of the chaos. Also I felt contempt and arrogance from all the people. All of a sudden I'm next to my parents old house.
Historical Sidenote
We worked so hard digging out the crawlspace and turning it into liveable area. We always had a pile of rocks and dirt and people would stop by and take it for fill. It hurt a lot when my parents sold the house since my Father was going to prison and we couldnt afford it.
The Dream, Continued
Anyways, I was standing on the pile of dirt and stones I see a female pitbull lying on the pile of rocks. I moved her gingerly and noticed all these puppies underneath her, some had been crushed underneath the weight of the other puppies, this already troubled the hell out of me. I gathered them and brought them back to this campus area, I was trying to get help for the puppies asking around but these people werent too responsive and I had my bosses voice in my head, ordering me. I had set them down in a place with other people to watch over them while I looked for help, I was also asking people if they wanted to adopt the puppies. I heard my name being spoken in reference to the puppies as I hurried back to them. Some guy was talking about how I had left them in the sunlight and they died
Psychological underpinning
I'm having a horrible day, just another horrible day in a life that has been generally bad and difficult. I won't go too much into detail but I'm essentially a moody, adrenaline junky with PTSD and adhd. I'm not taking about PTSD from having a slightly abusive relationship. I'm talking about pervasive bad stuff, it all started seeing the remains of a murder suicide and staring into the eyes of a 8 year old girl who watched her mother's head get blown off by her monstrous boyfriend. I also got beat within an inch of my life several times and one time had to protect myself from getting murdered by fighting back and hurting the attacker very,very badly... Everything good in my life seems to get ruined. The only thing I'm really happy about is that I'm back to helping people as a first responder and volunteering through my church to help the homeless. Otherwise I've worked and strived so hard and no matter what I do I feel like I'm always being hurt or sabotaged in the end.
Interpretation
I really would love some type of guidance on this. Im in a lot of pain and I get really bothered by the thought of dogs being hurt.

2024.05.29 20:32 gertgertgertgertgert Let's rank the dog breeds from bad to worst.

Before I get into it: I'm no dog expert. This list is, broadly speaking, anecdotal evidence and general knowledge about common breeds. I don't pretend to be--or want to be--some dog authority. If you disagree that's fine! Let's discuss in the comments.
I'm obviously not going to rank all the breeds because a) there's like 1000 of them, b) most of them are broadly the same, and c) I can't be bothered to research how this genetic abomination is different from the other genetic abomination. Let's get into it, from Bad to Worst:
What do you think? What notable breeds did I miss? What would you rank differently?

2024.05.29 19:21 poorluci Attack in Hillsdale, MI on beagle pup 5/27/2024

This was a post I copied from a neighborhood group I follow. I just wanted it entered into the attack archives.
We were working in our garage on Memorial Day all day. Bandit our sweet 9 month old beagle was hanging out with us. Hiding parts on us. 🤦‍♀️ lol (He hid a part we took off the vehicle right outside of our garage. We went and bought a whole new one and just as we went to put it on we found where the sneaky pup put it. lol) At around 6:30pm after the car was completely fixed we went inside to figure out what we were going to do for dinner. As we were inside talking we heard an awful noise that I will never forget. A horrendous cry of extreme pain coming from Bandit who was laying in our garage just moments prior. I ran to the front door as fast as I could and when I swung it open I saw an image I can’t stop seeing over and over again in my head. I saw 3 pit bulls attacking our sweet baby boy. One had ahold of him by the neck, one by his front leg and one by his back leg. I remember seeing his sweet eyes just begging to be saved, begging for this horrible pain to stop. I started screaming saying, “They are killing him! The dogs are killing Bandit!” As I am screaming my dad runs out of the garage door from the house and grabs two baseball bats. He starts swinging on the dogs trying as hard as he can to get them to release their grip on our Bandit. Seconds later my husband runs out of the house bypassing me and begins hitting the dogs with any weapon he can. He eventually gets one of the baseball bats from my dad and joins with hitting these aggressive dogs over and over. Only they don’t care. They have one thing on their mind and that is to kill him. To kill this sweet boy that would never want to do anything but play with them. Hitting them in their heads repeatedly over and over did not faze them or loosen their grip on him for what felt like hours. As they are attacking him I turn unable to bare the sight of my poor baby being mauled by these horrible animals. Only when I turn I see my 9 year old son and my 11 year old sister screaming and crying out the window, “Get away from our dog! Leave our dog alone!” Over and over again. I run to them telling them to get away from the window. I get them to a spot in the house where they can no longer see what is happening to Bandit. They are inconsolable. They saw something I wish more than anything I could have shielded them from witnessing. I run back to our door to make sure my dad and husband are still okay. Just as I get there I see one of the dogs heading towards my husband. My dad yelled, “Watch out!” As he swung the bat at the dog hitting him for what seemed like the hundredth time. My husband swings his bat at one of the dogs who still has his teeth deep into Bandit hitting him so hard the baseball bat broke into two. The dog finally lets go. They have gotten two of the dogs off of him. My dad swings over and over hitting the dog with a final swing over the dogs head strong enough to break his grasp of Bandit just good enough for him to get free. When this happens I swung the door open to grab my baby boy. Just as we are almost to each other one of the three dogs starts coming towards us. My dad sees this and screams at him to get out of here while charging at him with the bat. My husband is keeping the other dogs at bay. As soon as I got Bandit inside I shut the door trying to create some space from these evil monsters and my bloody helpless pup. I grabbed my phone and dialed 911 trying to make coherent sentences and calm myself so they can understand how we need their help. How these horrible animals came into our garage and tore apart our dog. I apologized over and over for being all over the place and I’m sure extremely hard to understand. She was very patient with me and told me to grab a clean towel and apply it to the bleeding coming from Bandit. She said not to look to just hold pressure to his wounds. She asked how our kids were after I sobbed to her about how they saw everything that happened. Something I will never forgive myself for not shielding them from better. She truly was amazing and patient. After she instructed us how to care for Bandit to help keep him stable she assured me that help was coming. As I was on the phone with her everyone else in the house was on the search for an emergency vet that was open on Memorial Day. After calling vet after vet with no luck we finally found one in Fort Wayne an hour and seven minutes away. I called our neighbor who these three pit bulls belong to crying to her that her dogs just attacked mine and he was badly hurt. She was very guarded and repeated excuse after excuse. She came to our house where I did not dare open the door to her. She did not try to get her dogs. She did not look for them nor even mutter their names. She stood on my patio and in my driveway. I informed her I called the cops and she said, “Okay I will wait here.”
I have to put some back story on this situation that has been a build up for years. Over the past four years we have had multiple run ins with these dogs. Them coming into our yard chasing our kids and us having to chase them away. From them tackling my younger brother and him only being saved from injury due to me being there to scare the dog off. Countless calls to the police of these dogs scaring us into our house. We couldn’t mow our lawn because they would chase us on it. One time I was mowing and Diesel the most aggressive pitbull came up to me growling in the scariest way I had ever seen, before Memorial Day of course. I was screaming over and over for my husband. He ran outside and scared him away. All of these times I am referencing the police were called. When this first started happening I did not call the cops. I reached out to her because the last thing I wanted was to have issues with my neighbor. We had a long talk and I thought we actually got somewhere. I would text her saying your dogs are out again. Multiple times I did this. Until last year when her dogs were out once again and they killed our other neighbors cat. They tore it to shreds. They were of course very hysterical. , the owner of these awful dogs met them with anger and hateful words which were returned on their side as well. She felt no remorse for her dogs killing their cat. One of the times the police were called she was driving the special needs bus (She is a bus driver for Coldwater community schools) she stopped the bus with kids inside to talk to the cops. She then drove that bus to her house and tried to get her dogs back inside with children on the bus! The bus garage was contacted but again nothing was done. She has been written multiple tickets and had an appearance in court about her dogs being loose but nothing changes. She still has her dogs and she is still very irresponsible with taking care of and raising them. In the past couple of weeks our kids have ran inside saying her dogs are out but I just have them and Bandit stay inside and I regretfully did not call the police. There is so many occasions I could list of her dogs being loose and aggressive over the years but this would go on forever. Now that we are somewhat caught up on the history I will go back to telling what happened on Memorial Day.
When the cops arrived I headed outside where the pitbulls owner was waiting. I got there just as the cop was exiting his vehicle. I said something along the lines of her dogs were out again and came into our garage and attacked our dog. We have called the cops so many times about her dogs. (I apologize as I know this is not word for word what I said just a summary as I was so worked up I cannot remember exactly just the gist of it) she then turned to me angry and yelled, “And how long has it been since the last time you called! It’s been a year!” Hence why I regret not documenting the weeks prior they had been out. Maybe it would have saved Bandit, but it felt like nothing was ever done in the past. The officer then looked at her and said, “were these your dogs that attacked theirs?” She said yes. He then asked her to move away and to stand across the yard. He then went with me up to my house and asked what happened. I was still in a hysterical state crying as I replayed the horrible events that just happened. He asked if he could see our dog so I took him inside. He came in and lifted the blood soaked towel from Bandit. He then went to his car to grab his phone. When he returned he took pictures of Bandits wounds the best he could without hurting him to badly. He then advised us he was going to go speak with her. At this time Bandit was very uncomfortable, but yet every time we told him how good of a boy he was he wagged his tail. All of my fear of him being dead early was slowly starting to fade and hope was creeping in. I started to believe that he might just make it through this! After a couple of minutes of speaking with her the officer goes to his car. 5 minutes later someone in my house and I apologized I cannot remember who, shouts there they are and points to two of the dogs running behind our house. I ran out to the cop to advise the dogs were still out and pointed to them. He told me to just have everyone stay inside so I did. As we were prepping to take Bandit to the vet the police officer knocks on our door. He advises that he will be issuing her a court date for her dogs being at large and hands me a card with a case number on it. My family begins questioning him on what will happen to the dogs. Will they be picked up? Will they be caught? The cop says, “Animal control does not work on the holidays and I am not going to chase after dogs that just attacked yours so I can get attacked or have to shoot them.” I of course would NEVER want him to be attacked but who is to protect my family if they will not nor will the owner . He then says he would recommend we just stay inside. My husband and sister begin to say what if that was our kid. What if next time they kill a child. The cop says there is a lot of what ifs being thrown around and that was not the case here. After going back and forth with it going no where I tell them all to go inside. Shocked and scared that we are being told to just stay inside for our protection. Him telling us he doesn’t want to find them because he doesn’t want to be attacked but we have to live by it was astonishing to me. I understand his life is EXTREMELY important but isn’t my sons? My husband’s? My families? I couldn’t take it. The circling back and forth with him got us no where. He went to her house and served her the court date and left. At this time all of our attention shifted back to getting Bandit to the vet as soon as possible. He was still stable although his neck was swollen, his eye was cut, his back right leg was tore to shreds as well as multiple other puncture wounds he was still alive. He was still wagging his tail when you called him a good boy and told him how much he was loved. The hour and 7 minute drive was torture for him as his pain increased. When he got to the vet he was still wagging his tail when he seen them and they weighed him. After all of the horrible pain and torture he went through he was still our sweet boy. The doctors took him back right away to examine him. Not even 15 minutes later they came back and said bandit stopped breathing on them and they had to put a chest tube in. They said his lung and trachea were damaged and the swelling in his neck was an air pocket that had prolonged him being able to breath. They asked us what we wanted them to do as it would cost thousands to fix him and they weren’t even sure it would work. We told them to do it! Save our dog! Save our family member! They were amazing and said they would do everything they could. After seeing him again they took him back where they began surgery on him. At 2am we received a call saying Bandit was on life support and was not doing well. 5 minutes after hanging up with them they called back saying they were continuously doing CPR but he was not coming back. Our baby boy was gone. Our sweet Bandit couldn’t fight anymore.
He was so much more than a dog. He was our friend, our family, our light. He was annoying with his loud beagle howl that I would do anything to hear again. He was our guard dog that would roll on his belly anytime he met someone new so they would rub his belly. He was everything to us….
I do not know what to do. How can we just let this go. How can we pretend that these dogs are not a danger to be around. That this owner is not irresponsible and has proven over and over that she does not deserve these animals. How can they be living whole at their house while a piece of ours is missing. I cannot and will not regret not taking action again. I know the cop did not care about the what ifs. But they are only what ifs until what the past has proven has become so. They are only what ifs until a child is killed or more animals are killed. If anyone has any advice please please let us know.
We love you so much Bandit! Your death will be not be in vain!

2024.05.29 15:34 caelypso Flavouring a Fiendish Sorcerer

Hello! Currently building a tiefling sorcerer in 5e and I am wanting to tie her magic into her fiendish (specifically devil) bloodline.
I have been considering divine soul (evil or lawful), but the healing abilities & cleric spell list aren't particularly fiendish and I'm not sure how we would explain it. Any thoughts on any cleric spells that might fit, or on another subclass that might be easier to reflavour?

2024.05.29 13:20 Neonbeta Getting the most out of your Shuro Chi Checkpoint and time when completing catalysts

With The Final Shape close on the horizon, you might be like me and will looking to complete some of those left over exotic weapon catalysts before TFS releases. This post will be a quick write-up on getting the most out of your time at a Shuro Chi Checkpoint.

Note: If you don't have access to Last Wish from Forsaken, there are a few other options of note available. Grasp of Avarice Entrance (30th Anniversary) Below the Green room of The Whisper exotic mission (Free to Play)

(It's also worth noting that almost all ways to speed up your exotic catalysts grind will be viable in places that are not Shuro Chi.)

Before I go into ways to speed up your Exotic Catalyst Grind, I will go over how Shuro Chi works in terms of spawning enemies.
Shuro Chi enemy spawns are dependent on 2 factors; Speed, and killing specific enemies (Knights and the singular Captain in this case). This means the faster you are the more spawns you can get, up to max of 110-120 per run.

The strategy to get the most out of your Shuro Chi is as follows.
Step 1: Start the encounter, kill the first bundle of thrall at the entrance.
Step 2: Kill the new wave thrall and 1 Knight/Captain.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 until all knights/captain are dead and the 3 Artifacts spawn on the plates around Shuro Chi. Then Wipe.
Step 4: Repeat from Step 1
Step 5: ???
Step 6: PROFIT!!!

(If you're too slow and the 3 artifacts spawn while several knights are still alive, enemies will stop spawning. When this happens, you're free to kill everything in the area and wipe like normal)
I've included a video of one of my runs below if you're unsure exactly what I'm talking about.
https://streamable.com/83r3wz

With the strategy out of the way, let's talk about things that will help the speed of your exotic catalyst grind, as well as the things that will hinder it.

: Help :
(There may be more to add here but that's the main gist of the important stuff).

: Hinder :
Add-on effects that trigger AoE damage NOT directly from the exotic weapon itself.
This is an important one. Any damage that is not directly from the weapon or an effect of the weapon will not count towards weapon kills and thus will not increase catalyst progression. This includes but is not limited to:
There are way more things that could go in this list but I hope with outlining these effects you can generally understand what to stay away from.

That's pretty much it! I hope it was helpful, please let me know if there's something major that I missed or something I got wrong.

2024.05.29 13:13 USA_Anti_stalking Government Sponsored Harassment Program:

Government Sponsored Harassment Program: Life-long Official Torture Must Be Stopped Now
This article was first published several years ago. It’s still very relevant. Then Senator Joe Biden himself is one of the sponsors of COPS, the government program for community harassment of targeted individuals.
Following are excerpts from a well hidden article published on the disinformation site called Veteran’s News Now. I’m leaving out the disinformation, and publishing the part that I know to be fact, having had to deal with it for a life time.
These ‘gangs’ of spies are taught harassment techniques such as “gas-lighting” within the U.S. military. I’ve learned this from people who’ve gone through the training and who have confessed of its existence. Government jobs are the rewards given to those who participate. Welfare entitlements are also used as forms of payment so that the financial burden of this army of tormentors is placed on the shoulders of those of us who are employed, and most Americans are now in the minimum wage service economy. Pretty much everyone else has already been dispossessed of their assets. The psychopaths who control this army don’t have to spend a dime of their own money for the program, which even has an official name: COPS. It’s made out to look good, of course. It’s not. Perhaps there are others out there who recognize the patterns described in this article and will join me in speaking out.
What penalty is appropriate for criminals who destroy lives slowly by pretending to be a friend or by marrying their victims, and charging the tax payer for this service?
By Rahul Manchanda, Esq. on August 21, 2016
In Bill Clinton’s COPS Gang-Stalking Program, civilian spies are recruited from every segment of society, and everyone in the “targets” life is made a part of this ongoing, continuous, and systematic form of control and harassment, with such actions that are specifically designed to control the target and to “keep them in line,” like a Pavlovian Dog. These actions are also designed to mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, socially, and psychologically destroy the target over years, to make them appear to be crazy, leave them with no form of support whatsoever, and ultimately to drive the target to suicide.
In 1975 Senator Frank Church convened a joint senatorial/congressional inquiry into the egregious human rights and civil liberties violations of the Central Intelligence Agency (“CIA”), National Security Agency (“NSA”), as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”) against people both foreign and domestic. Such blatant transgressions included the “neutralization” and “elimination” of political dissidents, “enemies of the state,” real or imagined threats to National Security, and anyone else on the proverbial shit list of the Military Industrial Complex (“MIC”).
The terms ‘enemy of the State’ refers to traditional enemies of the Masonic mob. The Catholic enemy is simply the Roman Catholic Church and the families that have supported it for centuries. They are law and order people.
The Mob calls them enemies.
The “Church Committee” a U.S. Senate committee chaired by Senator Frank Church (D-ID) in 1975, was a Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities. A precursor to the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the committee investigated intelligence gathering for illegality by the aforementioned agencies after certain activities had been revealed by the Watergate affair. Of course, intelligence agencies protect each other.
To discredit one spy agency is to discredit all of them. The number of jobs, sub-contractors, perks and freebies is beyond measure at this point. There were spy families before, now there are entire spy populations who live internationally, have several identities in several countries who live very, very good lives and get immunity from just about any prosecution. They get their pick of government jobs, all of them are easy, and they get the fast lane when applying for free government benefits.
The December 22, 1974 New York Times article by Seymour Hersh detailed operations engaged in by the CIA over the years that had been dubbed the “family jewels”. The article pretends that all these covert action programs of assassination were attempts against foreign leaders to subvert foreign governments. In actuality, the only thing foreign to this fraudulent government are Catholics, the assassinations were against Catholics, the subversion was against American Catholics.The fact of such programs were reported for the first time: (7) efforts by intelligence agencies to collect information on the political activities of US citizens; and (8) countless other examples, both overseas and domestically. (See original article for references)
The end result of the Church Committee Hearings was the outright banning on CIA assassinations as well as the FBI/DOJ COINTELPRO gang-stalking programs.
This means that anyone and everyone who is employed or who volunteers to torment the life any other individual is guilty of a federal offense and should certainly stand trial. Those found guilty should be punished in such a way that the punishment will deter future perpetrators of these multi-generational crimes.
In 1975 and 1976, the Church Committee published fourteen reports on various U.S. intelligence agencies’ formation, operations, and the alleged abuses of law and of power that they had committed, with recommendations for reform, some of which were later put in place.
Under recommendations and pressure by this committee, President Gerald Ford issued Executive Order 11905 (ultimately replaced in 1981 by President Reagan’s Executive Order 12333) to ban U.S. sanctioned assassinations of foreign leaders. It did not mention domestic leaders.
Does it ban assassinations of American future leaders in the 20-23 age range? Is this permitted?
The Church Committee’s reports supposedly constitute the most extensive review of intelligence activities ever made available to the public. Much of the contents were classified, but over 50,000 pages were declassified under the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992.
Thanks to the concept of ‘redactions’, these declassified documents still protect the assassins and the names of the victims, by giving the Mob Government the right to black out anything they choose to. Those of us who are targeted and who’ve lost family members are left completely defenseless, unable to identify these assassins and fraudsters who continue to invade our personal lives with impunity.
The Church Committee learned that beginning in the 1950s, the CIA and FBI intercepted, opened, and photographed more than 215,000 pieces of mail by the time the program was shut down. Certainly this is a lie. The spying of mail started much earlier in Europe. The Church report found that the CIA was zealous about keeping the US Postal Service from learning that mail was being opened by government agents. CIA agents moved mail to a private room to open the mail or in some cases opened envelopes at night after stuffing them in briefcases or coat pockets to deceive postal officials. This is still going on of course, and it didn’t begin in the 1950’s. I’ve found evidence of it throughout the South during the Civil War.
On May 9, 1975, the Church Committee called CIA director William Colby. That same day Ford’s top advisers (Henry Kissinger, Donald Rumsfeld, Philip W. Buchen, and John Marsh) drafted a method to protect their beloved assassins and torturers, many of whom have been rewarded with the highest public offices throughout the world.
No one in government expressed concern for the victims or for the survival of our nation.
The Ford administration, particularly Rumsfeld, was “concerned” about the effort by members of the Church Committee in the Senate and the Pike Committee in the House to curtail the power of U.S. intelligence agencies. It seemed that Rumsfeld et al was comfortable giving the power to arbitrarily destroy anyone as “enemies of the state” by anyone working in the IC and MIC.
COINTELPRO (COunter INTELligence PROgram) was a series of covert and illegal projects conducted by the FBI aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic “political dissidents.”
FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, brother of Al Capone, issued directives on COINTELPRO, ordering FBI agents to “expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit, neutralize or otherwise eliminate” the activities of the targeted. Under Hoover, the agent in charge of COINTELPRO was William C. Sullivan.
Their actics against the very people whose tax contributions pay their salary included anonymous phone calls, IRS audits, and the creation of documents that would divide their target’s families. I’ve experienced all of this.
One way of dividing a family is by confiscating their house. My personal and present experience with this is that a number of these agents cooperate to steal proof of tax payment and also to steal the notifications sent out by the Sheriff’s office about tax liens and tax sales on the property. When one prays and places oneself under God’s protection, it’s possible to overcome these tactics. In my case, pure coincidence allowed me to discover that my own proof of payment of property taxes had been stolen and that my house had already been given to a company in Minnesota, Lima Investments to be exact, for the grand total of about $200.00 or the tax for one year, all that was allegedly owed. Having a government places us all in great danger, and it’s just time to get rid of it. All of it.
These government tactics are used against us, our relatives, our friends.
The Final Report of the Select Frank Church Committee blasted with hot air the behavior of the intelligence community in its domestic operations (including COINTELPRO) in no uncertain terms:
“The Committee finds that the domestic activities of the intelligence community at times violated specific statutory prohibitions and infringed the constitutional rights of American citizens. The legal questions involved in intelligence programs were often not considered. On other occasions, they were intentionally disregarded in the belief that because the programs served the “national security” the law did not apply. While intelligence officers on occasion failed to disclose to their superiors programs which were illegal or of questionable legality, the Committee finds that the most serious breaches of duty were those of senior officials, who were responsible for controlling intelligence activities and generally failed to assure compliance with the law. Many of the techniques used would be intolerable in a democratic society even if all of the targets had been involved in violent activity, but COINTELPRO went far beyond that – the Bureau conducted a sophisticated vigilante operation aimed squarely at preventing the exercise of First Amendment rights of speech and association, on the theory that preventing the growth of dangerous groups and the propagation of dangerous ideas would protect the national security and deter violence.”
They continue the pretense that individuals aren’t targeted, only “groups and movements “. According to attorney Brian Glick in his book War at Home, the FBI used four main methods during COINTELPRO:
(1) Infiltration: Agents and informers did not merely spy on selected targets. Their main purpose was to discredit and disrupt. Their very presence served to undermine trust and scare off potential supporters of the target through lies and false accusations. The FBI and police exploited this fear to smear genuinely good people as agents, accusing their victims of doing what the FBI itself was doing;
(2) Psychological warfare: The FBI and police used myriad “dirty tricks” to undermine people who they opposed. They planted false media stories and published bogus leaflets and other publications in the name of targeted groups. They forged correspondence, sent anonymous letters, and made anonymous telephone calls. They spread misinformation about meetings and events, set up pseudo movement groups run by government agents, and manipulated or strong-armed parents, employers, landlords, school officials and others to cause trouble for activists. They used bad-jacketing to create suspicion about targets, sometimes with lethal consequences; They sent people to marry into and befriend the families of their perceived enemies, also usually with lethal consequences.
(3) Harassment via the legal system: The FBI and police abused the legal system to harass regular people and make them appear to be criminals. Officers of the law gave perjured testimony and presented fabricated evidence as a pretext for false arrests and wrongful imprisonment. They discriminatorily enforced tax laws and other government regulations and used conspicuous surveillance, “investigative” interviews, and grand jury subpoenas in an effort to intimidate activists and silence their supporters;
(4) Illegal force: The FBI conspired with local police departments to threaten dissidents; to conduct illegal break-ins in order to search dissident homes; and to commit vandalism, assaults, beatings and assassinations. The object was to frighten or eliminate dissidents and disrupt their movements.
The FBI specifically developed tactics intended to heighten tension and hostility between various factions in their targeted groups and individuals, and this resulted in numerous deaths.
While COINTELPRO was officially terminated in April 1971, evidence is that reforms did not succeed in ending COINTELPRO tactics, which now includes harassment on social media, obstruction of commerce through social media censorship, search engine censorship, hacking into independent websites and denial of emergency welfare benefits.
JOE BIDEN’S “COPS” FEDERAL AND STATE SANCTIONED GANG-STALKING AND LIFE-TORTURE PROGRAM
“Community-Oriented Policing,” (“COPS”) is a strategy of policing that focuses on police “building ties and working closely with members of the communities.” It originated in 1994 when then Senator Joseph Biden wrote and then President Bill Clinton enacted the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (“VCCLEA”) establishing the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (“COPS”) within the US Department of Justice.
Community policing is supposedly a policy that requires police to engage in a “proactive approach” to address public safety concerns, and is a cornerstone of the Clinton Administration, gaining its funding from the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act.
Common implementations of community-policing include:
(1) relying on community-based crime prevention by utilizing “civilian education,” neighborhood watch, and a variety of other techniques, as opposed to relying solely on police patrols;
(2) restructuring the patrol from an emergency response based system to emphasizing proactive techniques such as foot patrol;
(3) increased officer accountability to civilians they are “supposed to serve;” and
(4) decentralizing police authority, allowing more discretion amongst lower-ranking officers, and more initiative expected from them.
In other words, federal and state sanctioned and approved PUNISHMENT FOR NO CRIME COMMITTED.
Gang Stalking has many similarities to workplace mobbing, but takes place outside in the community or in the home after infiltrating social groups, where the target is followed around and placed under surveillance by groups of organized civilian spies/snitches 24/7, 365 days a year.
When a target moves or changes jobs, the harassment continues. There is no mercy with the GOVERNMENT. If the target complains, the look of triumph is seen ON THEIR FACES, for there is no one to complain to but other spies, double agents and enemies in the pay of the government. Some of us are absolutely surrounded and live that way our entire lives, unless the mercy of God intervenes.
Targeted Individuals are harassed for months or years before they realize that they are being targeted by an organized Life-Torture Program.
Many innocent people are targeted for these harassment programs. Their friends, family, and the community at large, through massive prescription drugging, brainwashing and media control, are used to monitor, prosecute, and harass them. In the former Jewish controlled USSR these programs accused innocent people of being an “enemy of the state,” or “mentally unfit,” and many were institutionalized or murdered using this form of governmental systematic control.
Despite the fact that these actions are designed to mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, socially, and psychologically destroy the target over years, to make them appear to be crazy, and leave them with no form of support, whatsoever,in actual practice something very different happens.
I’ve observed that these malicious operatives end up becoming mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, socially, and psychologically destroyed themselves over the years, while their targets, such as myself, manage to adapt our lives in very creative ways. Those who end up appearing to be crazy, and with no form of support, whatsoever, are the ones doing the torturing.
For the state, this appears to be a way to keep their targets in line, control them, or ultimately destroy them. Instead, we’ll be seeing the state itself destroyed along with every pirate who depends on it for cash and status even while they work to destroy the very source of that cash and status, the productive tax payers whose dependence on their pirate system diminishes as a result of the harassment.
This systematic form of control is funded at every level of government, every agency is involved in it. All of them.
Targets can be chosen for many reasons, but mainly they are targeted for knowing too much or for being legitimate, historically Catholic bloodline that has shunned inbreeding. This bloodline makes for an intelligent and capable individual who will tend to differ with the Masonic Mob in terms of political views and ideas of right and wrong. People who don’t cooperate with the rape and pillage of our nation will find themselves labelled as:
(1) whistle-blowers;
(2) political dissident;
(3) one who asserts rights at work;
(4) one who has personally displeased a member of the DeMolay Society;
(5) one who is too outspoken;
(6) one who is an investigator ;
(7) a signer of a petition;
(8) a writer of letters;
(9) one who is reported as “suspicious” by a civilian spy/snitch; or
(10) one who is a religious/ethnic/racial minority, which means being Catholic, which to the Pirate State makes us an enemy.
The goal of the COPS state sanctioned organized gang-stalking and domestic torture program is to isolate the target from all forms of support, so that the target can be set up in the future for arrest, institutionalized, or forced suicide. Other goals of this harassment are to destroy the targets reputation and credibility, and to make the target look “crazy” or unstable.
The process often involves sensitizing the target to every day negative and even horrific “stimuli” as a form of control, which is used to control targets when they “get out of line.” Targets of this relentless and merciless harassment become vulnerable and destitute, and often become homeless, jobless, have a breakdown, are driven to suicide, similar to targets of the banned COINTELPRO. The government eliminates perceived “enemies of the state” in this manner.
Every time the target moves, the same defamation, lies, libel, and slander will be spread, and the systematic harassment will continue. Online defamation, libel, and slander on the internet has made this continuation of COPS gang-stalking a great deal easier.
People from all segments of society can be recruited to be the “eyes and ears” of the state, such as laborers, drug dealers, drug users, street people, prostitutes, punks, church groups, youth groups, your best friend, your lawyer, local policeman, doctor, emergency services, a neighbor, family, social workers, politicians, judges, dentists, vet, supermarket cashier, postman, religious leader, care worker, landlord, anyone.
Most of these recruited civilian spies/snitches do not understand or even care that the end consequence of this harassment protocol is to eventually destroy the targeted person, and function as “useful idiots” of the state sanctioned COPS gang-stalking program.
It has been reported that people and family members participate in this COPS gang stalking because it:
(1) gives them a sense of power;
(2) is a way to make friends;
(3) is something social and fun;
(4) breaks down race/gendeage/social barriers;
(5) is forced or blackmailed upon them by the State or police to take part;
(6) is told to them that they are part of “homeland or national security” to help keep an eye on “dangerous” or “emotionally disturbed” individuals where they are “heroic spies for the state;”
(7) is used on local thugs or informants who are already being used for other activities where their energies are diverted into these COPS gangstalking community spy programs; (8) is either a choice of spying for the State or police, or else go to jail; (9) involves outright lies and slander about the target to get them to go along with ruining the targets life; (10) includes average citizens recruited by the state the same way citizens were recruited in the former East Germany and other countries.
Some techniques used against targets in this organized COPS Gang-stalking program include:
(1) classic conditioning where a target is sensitized to everyday stimuli over a period of months and years to harass them in public to let them know they are constantly being harassed and monitored;
(2) 24/7 Surveillance following the target everywhere they go, learning about the target and where they shop, work, play, who their friends and family are, getting close to the target, moving into the community or apartment where they live, across the street, monitoring the targets phone, house, and computer activity; I’ve known them to marry family members. Watch the Cable Guy movie for an illustration of how they operate.
(3) isolating the target via defamation, libel, and slander campaigns, (eg, people in the target’s community are told that the target is a thief, into drugs, a prostitute, pedophile, crazy, in trouble for something, needs to be watched, false files will even be produced on the target, shown to neighbors, family, store keepers);
(4) constant or intermittent noise and mimicking campaigns disrupting the targets life and sleep with loud power tools, construction, stereos, doors slamming, etc;
(5) talking in public about private things in the target’s life;
(6) mimicking actions of the target and basically letting the target know that they are in the target’s life; (7) daily interferences, not too overt to the untrained eye, but psychologically degrading and damaging to the target over time;
(8) everyday life breaks and street theater such as flat tires, sleep deprivation, drugging food, putting dirt on targets property;
(9) mass strangers doing things in public to annoy targets such as getting called/text messages to be at a specific time and place to perform a specific action;
(10) blocking targets path, getting ahead of them in line, cutting or boxing them in on the road, saying or doing things to elicit a response from the target;
(11) “baiting” tactics where a surveillance operation can selectively capture evidence of a targeted person responding to harassment, and then that evidence could then be used to justify the initiation of more formal scrutiny by a government agency.
The COPS Gang-Stalking Program, as all other state sanctioned/approved gang-stalking programs, have always been funded by the Government. They are the only ones with enough money, coordination, and power to keep such a system in place. These coordinated efforts then join hands with others for this systemic form of control and harassment.
Such operations have nothing to do with the target’s criminality – they are led and perpetrated by federal agents and intelligence/security contractors, often with the support of state and local law enforcement personnel. Unofficial operations of this type are often private investigators and vigilantes – including many former agents and police officers, sometimes on behalf of corporate clients and others with connections to the public and private elements of America’s security industry.
The goal of such operations is “disruption” of the life of an individual deemed to be an enemy (or potential enemy) of clients or members of the security state. Arguably, the most accurate term for this form of harassment would be “counterintelligence stalking.” I would call it simply “Torture”.
Agents of communist East Germany’s Stasi (state police) referred to this process as Zersetzung (German for “decomposition” or “corrosion” – a reference to the severe psychological, social, and financial effects upon the victim). Victims have described the process as “no-touch torture” – a phrase which also captures the nature of the crime: cowardly, unethical (and often illegal), but difficult to prove legally, because it generates minimal forensic evidence.
Tactics include online and personal slander, libel, defamation, blacklisting, “mobbing” (intense, organized harassment in public), “black bag jobs” (residential break-ins), abusive phone calls, computer hacking, framing, threats, blackmail, vandalism, “street theater” (staged physical and verbal interactions with the minions of the people who orchestrate the stalking), harassment by noises, and other forms of bullying.
Such stalking is sanctioned (and in some cases, orchestrated) by federal agencies; however such stalking is also sometimes used unofficially for personal and corporate vendettas by current and former corrupt employees of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, private investigators, and their clients.
Since counterintelligence stalking goes far beyond surveillance – into the realm of psychological terrorism, as it is essentially a form of extrajudicial punishment. As such, the harassment is illegal – even when done by the government. It clearly violates the US Constitution’s Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unwarranted searches, and the Sixth Amendment which guarantees the right to a trial. Such operations also violate similar fundamental rights defined by state constitutions. Stalking is also specifically prohibited by the criminal codes of every state in America.
As was stated above, organized stalking methods were used extensively by communist East Germany’s Stasi (state police) as a means of maintaining political control over its citizens. Although this is supposedly illegal in the US, the same covert tactics are quietly used by America’s local and federal law enforcement, and intelligence agencies, to suppress individuals.
Although Edward Snowden’s revelations about the National Security Agency (“NSA”) in 2013 and 2014 generated a great deal of public discussion about mass surveillance, US domestic counterintelligence activities such as the COPS Program receive relatively little attention.
The FBI’s COINTELPRO operation is still happening, involving even more advanced surveillance technology – and this program is none other than Joseph Biden and Bill Clinton’s COPS Program.
US Department of Justice crime statistics from a 2006 survey indicated that an estimated 445,220 COPS gangstalking victims reported three or more perpetrators (the only ones reported), and this number is growing exponentially on a daily basis.
In addition to being morally reprehensible, the COPS gang stalking program, just like the original version of the FBI’s COINTELPRO operations, is very, very illegal. It violates criminal laws in all fifty states against stalking, as well as grossly violates the US Constitution’s prohibitions against warrantless searches and extra-judicial punishment.
What is extra-judicial punishment? It is punishment without trial, without a charge and without even the acknowledgement that a life-long punishment is inflicted.

2024.05.29 10:08 anonparent123 Dog Recommendations for Affectionate Neurodivergent Kid?

Introduction
  1. Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
Experience with shih tzu and whippet starting as puppies, and Rhodesian Ridgeback as a senior dog. I took the shih tzu through all of the PetSmart training courses. It's been several years though, so I would rather avoid a difficult dog.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
Probably a breeder but will also be following breed specific rescues and our local shelters.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
Low shed (allergies), 20-40 lbs, good with kids and cats, chill around the house but happy to play outside. We have a 5yo who is very good with animals, and a neurodivergent 8yo who is much too affectionate for our cats' tastes. (We are working with him, and if we aren't positive he's ready to have a dog in the house, we won't get one.) Needs to be good with cats too.
Hoping for something healthy. We aren't an incredibly active family beyond the kids playing in our yard, but we can give daily walks. We aren't allowed to have tall fences over 42 inches, so nothing that jumps too high. Something that wouldn't destroy the kids' plushies is also a bonus. Nothing too difficult to house-train.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
I would love a Basenji, but I am worried that my ND 8yo might be too affectionate toward one (hugs, kisses, cuddles). I housesat a senior Basenji mix once and she was the sweetest thing. I love sighthounds, and it sounds like Basenjis are good with allergy sufferers, and are the perfect size we're looking for. A Brittany is high up on our list, as I've heard they're very gentle and would be good with cuddly kids, but I'm worried they may be too high energy for us. I've been told Bassett Hounds have better energy and are good with kids, but their long backs have me worried about health problems at a young age. Beagles sound great, but I've heard they're extra stinky? And idk if I want my house to smell like dog in addition to cats and kids lol. A Golden Retriever is a possibility, but I'm worried about shedding and size; we live in a mobile home, and while it's 1300 sqft, it has narrow hallways, and I'm worried a larger dog won't fit well. Papillons sound great, but the size has me worried it might get hurt if my kids get too rowdy (they don't typically get rowdy, but every now and then they have their moments). I enjoy Whippets, but I fear how easily they bolt out the door if you aren't careful would really stress out my kids.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
Mostly just the basics, crate training, a strong recall would be nice but I do have experience with whippets so not completely necessary (lol). Maybe a few fun things, like spinning or bowing.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
No
Care Commitments
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
We can devote all day to cuddling if they want to. Otherwise probably a few small training sessions throughout the day, and a moderate amount of play time in the evening.
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
Probably a 20-30 minute walk every morning and evening, a small-medium sized fenced-in yard to play in, and a twice a week, hour-long park visit. We would like to start hiking and swimming more, but that would only be in the summers, and we have long winters here. Possible longboard companion in summers.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
I can do brushing, ears, nails, and baths at home. I would rather not get something that needs regular trimming.
Personal Preferences
10) What size dog are you looking for?
20-40 lbs, give or take.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
Cannot do high shedding. I lived with a Whippet and Rhodesian Ridgeback at the same time and was fine with that, but cannot even visit something like a German Shepherd. Slobber is fine as long as it isn't puddles. Barking occasionally is fine as long as it isn't excessive.
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
I would like it as an option just so the kids are less anxious about it, but it isn't a deal breaker.
Dog Personality and Behavior
13) Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space?
Snuggles, cuddles, hugs, are a must. If it loves being a kid's pillow, that's even better.
14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please?
Eager to please
15) How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors?
Friendly so that the neighbor kids and my nieces/nephews are safe and comfortable. Barking at first knock is fine, so long as they chill out once answered.
16) Are you willing to manage a dog that is aggressive to other dogs?
No, because if we ever move to a bigger place I might be interested in a second dog.
17) Are there any other behaviors you can’t deal with or want to avoid?
Escaping the yard
Lifestyle
18) How often and how long will the dog be left alone?
I'm an online student, so I'm home all day. My degree is for online work as well. It would be nice if the dog could be left alone (with cats) for up to 8 hours once a week, but accomodations can be made if not.
19) What are the dog-related preferences of other people in the house and what will be their involvement in caring for the dog?
We're all in agreement to what I've said above. My husband would love something a little more unique than a Retriever or Beagle, but he knows first priority is the kids. He grew up with a border collie.
20) Do you have other pets or are you planning on having other pets? What breed or type of animal are they?
2 cats and a fishtank. One cat is chill and lazy, the other is a bully but might just need a playmate other than the lazy cat lol
21) Will the dog be interacting with children regularly?
Yes, in addition to our 2 kids we also have nieces and nephews that they'll see about once a month.
22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease?
We own the mobile home but rent the land. No pitbulls, German Shepherds, Huskies, Rottweilers, Dobermans, or Great Danes
23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds?
Montana, USA. I don't think there are any laws about that.
24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live?
Winters frequently go below 0°F, but are usually closer to 20°F in the day. Summers can get above 100°F, but are usually around 90°F.
Additional Information and Questions
25) Please provide any additional information you feel may be relevant.
We live away from town, and frequently make 45 minute drives. We also frequently have sleepovers at my dad's because of this, but we could make arrangements for the dog. Deer, birds, cats, and hawks, are often in our yard; it's fine if the dog chases/barks at these, I just don't want anything to get hurt (the other animals or our dog).
26) Feel free to ask any questions below.

Hellhounds and Angel Cakes by Zoe Chant

He’s supposed to be a rough, tough, terrifying hellhound. That's hard when you're covered in chihuahuas.
Henry’s used to everyone being afraid of him – being a hellhound has that effect on people. What he’s not used to is having every animal within a four-mile radius suddenly wanting to be his best friend. Pigeons roosting on your shoulder: annoying, but mostly harmless. The local moose population stampeding toward you in the hopes of a hug: somewhat more worrying.
There’s nothing for it but to escape to the mountains, where he can use his hellhound form to intimidate the local wildlife into leaving him alone. But a stop for one last piece of cake before heading into the wilderness leads him straight to his fated mate. He's over the moon... but how can he court her when every animal in town is trying to leap into his arms?
Travel journalist Luna was looking forward to this assignment: covering the first annual Girdwood Springs Food Festival, along with her trademark: Fillmore, the world's ugliest dog. Specifically, she was looking forward to sampling all the amazing, mouth-watering local delicacies.
But there's other delights to sample in Girdwood Springs – such as the mind-bogglingly gorgeous, hunky man who is now covered in cake, thanks to Fillmore. And who seems to be strangely popular with the local animal population.
Suddenly, writing her article is the last thing on her mind…

“Neither magic, nor time, can keep us apart. We are like the stars. Eternal.”
No one told witch Selene Bowers having a soul mate would be so difficult. Nor did they warn her that he might be a vengeful, ancient sorcerer who would frame her for murder, force her to remember a past life he swears she lived, and then coerce her into an unbreakable marriage pact. But that’s exactly what happens the night of the Samhain Ball, when Selene finds herself in a jail cell.
After waking from enchanted sleep, Memnon swore to discover why Selene betrayed him long ago. But when his soul mate’s memories return, the truth reveals something else entirely. Horrified by his own actions and desperate to make amends, Memnon offers Selene the unthinkable: a magic bond that will give her full control over his will. And Selene is desperate enough to accept it.
But other enemies still haunt Henbane Coven, Selene’s magical academy, and they’ve taken a keen interest in her. If she wants to stop them, she’ll need Memnon’s help. But partnering with the sorcerer is a tricky business, especially when he’s dead set on winning her heart. And that can’t happen…because the bond controlling him will break the moment she falls in love with him.

They're not what we were taught, and every passing day I learn more of the truth. Dragons are not the enemy we thought they were.

And if she can’t break this sinister bargain in the next thirty days, she’ll be bound to the inscrutable yet infuriatingly tempting fae prince and his deadly world…forever.

The Princess and the Pack by Fallon English

Princess Ivy and Prince Cillian have been fated since birth. Ivy has always known that one day, she must leave her country to become not only Cillian’s bride, but Namara’s future Queen.
As an Omega and a princess, her life revolves around duty; not the dream that she harbors of life-altering love. Her station dictates she deny Nature’s call for a pack of her own. Instead, she must wed and settle for one - and only one - Alpha to preserve their pristine, royal bloodlines.
But fate has other plans in mind for Princess Ivy. Plans that involve not just her Betrothed, but his best friend and Ivy’s childhood nemesis - a nobleman, and the handsome son of the Royal Gardener.
Will societal expectations and tradition pull them apart? Or will Ivy and her Alphas take charge of their fate and give in to a love with the power to change the world?

A Rival of Hearts by Tessonja Odette

Two rival writers. One prestigious publishing contract. A bargain of hearts and seduction.
They say never bargain with the fae. They also say don’t get drunk on fae wine. Yet romance author Edwina Danforth has managed a blunder with both on her first visit to the infamous faelands. Now she's trapped in a magic-fueled bet she barely remembers with a man she’d be happier to forget. The terms? Whoever can bed the most lovers during their month-long dueling book tour wins a coveted publishing contract.
The win should be easy for Edwina. She’s known for penning scintillating tales of whirlwind romance. There’s just one her imagination vastly exceeds her bedroom experience. But when failure means plummeting her career back into obscurity, losing isn’t an option.
Her handsome fae rival, William Haywood, poses an even greater challenge. Not only are his looks as aggravatingly perfect as his track record behind closed doors, but he has his own reasons for playing to win, and he won’t go down without a fight. Unless, of course, it’s a different kind of going down. In that case, he’s fair game.
Edwina and William clash in a rivalry of romance. But what happens when their objects of desire…turn out to be each other?

2024.05.29 01:39 applejackhero Running Pathfinder2e in Eberron- A short guide to class flavor

I dropped D&D5e for Pathfinder2e basically immediately on release. I never gave up playing in my favorite D&D campaign setting though- Eberron. If anything, I found Pathfinder2e better suited to the Eberron setting, which I had played in 3.5’s ocean of content for years. While I have grown to enjoy Pathfinder’s Golarion via playing in multiple of Paizo’s APs, I still run my own games in Eberron, using Pathfinder 2e rules. I am not the only person to do this, and there is even a fantastic fan-made Eberron conversion that can be found [here}( https://scribe.pf2.tools/v/2qF7WjsY-pathfinders-guide-to-eberron).
Pathfinder2e has 23 base classes, with that number soon to be rising to 27. Not all these classes have obvious D&D parallels, and so I wrote this guide primarily help players and GMs link Pathfinder’s many unique classes to Eberrons’ somewhat less conventional fantasy world. I also sort of hope this might interest some Eberron players to give Pathfinder2e a try, and some Pathfinder2e players to give Eberron a try. I will go over all the Pathfinder2e unique classes and talk about how to connect or change them (thematically) to fit into Eberron- no mechanical homebrew required.
The artificer question: Eberron created a class for D&D that is special built for the setting, the Artificer. In Eberron, where magic is technology, Artificers are sort of like scientists. In game mechanics, they are magic item specialists. In the original 3.5 rules, they literally just made magic items as their main class feature. This was changed (ruined in my opinion) in D&D5e, but the core of the class is still character who does not cast spells, themselves, but rather manipulates magic items. This does not exist in Pathfinder2e, but there are a few classes I think make for great substitutes mechanically if you change the flavor. I will bring this up in a few classes under the heading “Can this class be an Artificer?”
Alchemist- Alchemists create Elixers and bombs and mutagens, all of which fit very well into the world of Eberron. You can absolutely play an alchemist straight- A goblin engineer could be a bomber, a veteran of the Last War could be a Chirugeon, and a Lizardfolk shaman from Q’bara could be toxicologist. Another angle though is shift the Alchemist to be more magical in nature. A bomb could be a crystal that houses elemental energy. A mutagen could be a device that injects arcane power into the blood. Can this class be an artificer? Absolutely, that small flavor change to make the class more magical in nature is all you need to do.
Gunslinger- This is a weird one. Some people do just play Eberron as a world that has guns- this has become more common in the 5e era, and there is nothing wrong with this. Personally, prefer the idea that guns don’t exist, but there is magic that comes very close. The setting in Eberron takes place shortly after a massive, World War 1-esque conflict that accelerated the pace of magical technology. I like to run with the idea that wands were developed as offensive weapons- not as powerful as a wand that casts a whole spell but able to shoot blasts of magic all day. In my Eberron, these gun-wands are powered by Dragonshards that serve almost like magazines or heat sinks in Mass Effect. The result? Wandslingers baby. Mechanically, your pistolero might still be using two guns, but thematically, their long coat is now full of “dueling wands”. The Sniper might have a special, magically powered rail gun that fires a crossbow bolt with lightning magic. You can run wild with the flavor! The one thing I like to maintain is that gunwands are still new and rare, much like guns in the Golarion world. Wandslingers are specially trained wizards and warriors- a random layperson couldn’t just pick up a gunwand and make it work. This sort of ads to the “true grit” feel of the gunslinger. Er, wandslinger.
Another option for the Gunslinger for players who want to stay true to the gunpowder theme, is introduce guns as weapons from the Dwarven Mror Holds or the Hobgoblin nation of Darguun. It would be a stretch to say that pirates from Lhazaar have adopted these weapons either.
Inventor- Much like the Alchemist and the Gunslinger, the best way to convert the Inventor into fitting into Eberron is retool them to be more explicitly magical. They still might have gears and gizmos and gadgets, but these tools should be powered via magical sources. You can really work on your Magipunk slang here “I added mana-calibrators to my geomantic hammer”. A good media example for a magical inventor might be a character like Jace from Netflix’s Arcane series. As touched on previously, Eberron features magical crystals called “Dragonshards” that store, bind, and release magic. These could be a great way to work an Inventor character into Eberron. Additionally, the House of Making provides a natural backstory home to the inventor. Could this class be an artificer? Absolutely. This is probably the best analogue to 5es “Battlesmith” subclass of the artificer.
Investigator- The Eberron world is a setting that is built around intrigue, mystery, and even noir, as much as it it pulp action adventure. The Investigator is an easy slot into Eberron. Multiple governments have spy agencies, such as Breland’s Dark Lanterns. Over half of the Dragonmarked houses have solid reasons to employ investigator type characters, whether a half-elf detective for house Medani, a half orc bounty hunter of Tharask, or even a specialized Courier for house Orien. Additionally, an Investigator makes for a great “on the job scholar” type character, a treasure hunteresearcher for Morgrave University, for example.
Kineticist- Eberron is full of the idea of “manifest” zones; regions that have some extraplanar link to elemental (or other planes), pefect for playing this elementally charged class. This is an easy way to work a Kinetcist’s backstory into Eberron. For example, a character from Sharn who races in the Eight Winds race could be an air Kineticist due to their connection to Sharn’s manifest Zone. Another option is to simply have Kinetcists be more primal, raw types of magic users. An orc from a Gatekeeper tribe could be a wood Kineticist, a Dwarf mountaineer from Mror could be a stone kineticist. My group currently has a Sahaguin who is a aiwater kineticst. Finally, a Kineticst is, mechanically speaking, a class that uses magic but doesn’t cast spells. This could be used to represent Dragonmark, especially a rare and dangerous Abberant Dragonmark, very well. Could this class be an artificer? Why the hell not. Maybe an artificer who specializes in elemental binding?
Magus- This has to be one of the easiest ones to adapt. A Warrior who wields magic and weapons fits almost anywhere in Eberron, since the whole idea is commonplace. A veteran soldier? Special Forces? A pirate? An enforcer of a Dragonmarked house? A champion of the cults of the Dragon Below? A survivor of the Mourning? Could this class be an artificer? Yes, if you don’t mind being a very martially focused character. Maybe an artificer who uses a specially powered magical sword?
Oracle- A caster powered by a mysterious curse? That seems like a shoe-in for a character that draws power from the Draconic Prophecy. It also seems like a good way to play a character who has a dragonmark- especially someone with a difficult to control Siberys mark or a strange Aberrant mark. For example, someone with a powerful Mark of the Storm might be a Tempest Oracle, wheras someone with a mysterious connection to the Draconic Prophecy might be a Cosmos Oracle. Additionally, because Eberron’s dieties are so distant and nebulously real, an Oracle dedicated to them makes for a good divine character that exists outside of traditional church hierarchy- like a zealot of Dol Arrah (Battle Oracle).
Psychic- The obvious home for the Psychic class is as a substitute for psionics, which Eberron was designed to include in 3e, but has never really found a home for in 5e. The class works well for Kalashtar or Reidran humans, or anyone who uses psionics. Some subclasses of the Psychic might also work well for certain members of dragonmarked houses. The way I run Eberron in Pathfinder2e is that any occult-list (one of Pathfinder’s four sources of magic) may be a psionic character. I once had a psionic bard! But not every occult caster has to be a psionic user. Again, that means a Psychic can work great for a Kalashtar Psion, but also can work for a magical character, like a silent Thuranni assassin who kills with mind magic.
Sorcerer- Sorcerers are different enough in Pathfinder2e from D&D that I think they are worth mentioning here. Pathfinder has four magic sources, rather than two. Arcane (wizards), Divine (Clerics), Primal (Druids), and Occult (Bards). Sorcerers are not just arcane casters- they choose which source they cast from on character creation when they choose a Bloodline. This gives them a HUGE variety of ways to fit in the world. A primal magic using sorcerer with the Fey bloodline could be from the Eldeen reaches, a Divine sorcerer with the demon bloodline could be from the Demon Wastes, an Occult sorcerer could have the power of a Quori spirit within them, all alongside your traditional dragon-blooded arcane sorcerer. Because of this, I also think sorcerers could be a good stand in for Artifacers with a bit of reflavoring (and focus on crafting). An Imperial Bloodline sorcerer especially could work well as an artificer. I think a Wizard might be a more clear choice, but the potential is there.
Summoner- Summoner is a very broad class that chooses between all four magic traditions (much like sorcerer). The main thing they have going on is their permanent summoned companion- their Eidolon. This gives a lot of oppurtunities to work them into Eberron. Their backgrounds can be just as diverse- from a necromancer from Karnath to priest from Thrane with a connection to a holy spirit, to a clockwork engineer from Zilargo. My current Eberron party has a demonic summoner who has a flesh-warping creature from Khyber as their Eidolon! I do think the summoner could work as a very specific kind of artificer who has a constructed battle companion- though the Inventor might work better for this, unless you want spells.
Swashbuckler- Another very simple one. A warrior who relies on daring and gusto over strength is a great trope for Eberron. From an airship captain to Lhazar pirate, to even a Hoggoblin swordsage or a street fighter from the slums of Wroat, the Swashbuckler fits anywhere into Eberron with no need for flavor changes.
Witch- Like the Sorcerer and Summoner, Witches choose their magical source on character creation (though the vast majority of their subclasses are Occult and Primal). The witch is sort of the Pathfinder2e version of the warlock; their power comes from a pact with a powerful entity. Mechanically though, Witches are much more about hexes and sustaining buffs/debuffs than dealing damage and blasting. Eberron is full of a lot of power creatures- Demons, Dragons, Fey, Quori, Dealkyr which make for great patrons for a Witch. I also think its entirely possible to simply have your patron be a powerful mage or even a dragonmarked house- a storm-witch of house Lyrandar or a shadow-witch of house Phiarlan, for example.
I hope this gets people inspired to make characters, and maybe even look into the Eberron campaign setting. I also hope this helps GMs do what I have done over the last few years, which is migrate 5e players over to Pathfinder2e.
