2024.05.23 13:51 pinklatte11 AITA for following advices from police and organizations, which is not allowing my husband and his family to come to our apartment ; and some of my reactions before that

So around a week ago, my husband (32M) physically abused me (28F) by ch0k1ng (twice). This is the 2nd time he's (more) physically abusive, but I never expected it escalated to that on the 2nd time. This happened after he returned again to the apartment the evening 2days before after agreeing for my plea to give it one more chance. I told him I will not always keep begging and talk through to save the relationship and this is my final attempt that he actually go to psychiatrist to get medications and psychologist as suggested. If nothing improving, then it's over. He has Avoidant Personality Disorder that he's been to therapy before meeting me and quit sometime after meeting me, and severe ADHD that I was just aware and pointed that out to him after we're about to get married (which still untreated). I admit marriage life is hard because we had so much external stress like my residence permit problem, apartment issues, money, jobs, cultural differences, etc.
I can detail more about some of our marriage problems/incidents in the other post. But basically he neglected a lot of responsibilities and got us into a lot of trouble and piling debt, where I also cleaning up his ''mess'' because he's incapable of doing so and most times also not cooperative. And he's also unhappy when I got stressed out, frustrated and confronted him about it.
On top of his negligence, my mother insisted that I visit home with him (my family never see him) and paid 95% of the trip. But he's avoiding to give exact dates where he's available and when I told him that ''my mother is upset because the ticket later going to be more expensive, it's been months'', and he immediately said he want a divorce, saying that he doesn't even know if the relationship going to last and what will happen in the future so he doesn't want the emotional burden to meet my family. Even though he ended up agreeing about it AFTER his family urged him.
He did again run away from home and went to his parents house a month prior the flight, and his family didn't bother to help to talk to him too. After some drama here and there, and also we ended up missed our flight because of him (another story), which added more stress to me since I'm always the scapegoat in my family and I'm the one getting the blame and also financially hurt our household. Not to mention, during the whole trip he acted out a lot (another story) and his dishonesty when venting to his mother and the mother over protectiveness that also pretty rude and hurtful when she spammed me about it.
The same day we returned to Germany, we're faced with a lot of issues because of his negligence on top of we almost missed the flight (again) because of him. And in 2 days I started my full time job (finally got a job), which was physically horrendous. But he doesn't show any thoughtful gestures or at least do bare minimum towards me. He's unemployed and also procrastinated to submit documents for unemployment benefit for 3 months already, and he can't help in the house unless I told him what to do and need to detail every single thing repeatedly. This added to more stress and pain for me.
On my 4th day of working, he came to my workplace and insisted that I take the keys for the apartment because he's leaving. We did argue in the morning but I didn't have time to talk further about it and was planning to address the situation on the evening or the next day because my shift is free. I refused and begged him to just talk it out later at home, well it ended up I finished my work early, went home together, and there's another reason from his negligence that impacted me too, and I lost my job due to that.
I tried to talk to him the next morning, I hugged him hard, crying, sobbing, and tried to talk to him but that's where he tried to twisted both my arms to break it (but it didn't work because of the positions) and he ended up pinching both my arms really hard that resulted to a very bad bruising (which later he didn't remember about it and surprised to see my bruising the next day, told me I should go to a doctor because he thought it happened because I'm stressed). But that day he ended up staying. But on Saturday morning, when I tried to help him, he ignored me and on top of other things, it led to serious talk and small arguments. But I can't continue to sort it out and need to leave for work, he left the house when I was at work.
He returned again on Tuesday evening to pick his stuffs and plan to leave the next day, I tried to talk to him about it, that's where I also said that's my last attempt to see him getting better with medications and I tried to ask him to stay until Thursday first because Wednesday is public holiday, so any paperwork (my unemployment), doctor etc only open starting Thursday, because I know he has a plan with family on the weekend.
He insisted he wants to leave on Wednesday or else his mother will come pick him up on Thursday because I'm "kidnapping" him, and overall the whole convos he was very rude, belittling, he also screamed, mocked me and called me names to the point the first time of my life I had a heartburn. These past few months I also developed gastritis due to stress from him. But at the end he acted like it's nothing, and brushed if off and flatly said ''sorry btw you need to went through all that'', didn't even bother to check on me when I squatted holding my liver area due to painful heartburn, even though 10 minutes before he claimed he cares about me. He promised he will come again next week, and gave me his ID card as guarantee, which I asked for ATM card instead and gave him some cash as return. He agreed.
He came back on Monday late evening, and on Tuesday evening (I was working the whole day, was my last day) I went freaking out on the phone to my mother and family due to my dog (not related to him at all).
The next day, he said he has doctor appointment in 40 minutes for (mental) sick note to job agency. I regret I didn't go with him because I know the doctor will give him a psychiatrist referral if the doctor knows he's my husband. But he went by himself, and after returned I asked him how did it go. As expected the doctor didn't know it was him and only gave him psychologist referral and focused more about the job situation. I did ask him whether he already told the doctor everything I told him to say, so the doctor knows that he's my husband and will give the referral. He said he did but only 1 didn't (which is the crucial one).
I panicked, I told him I can't wait for another 2 weeks general doctor appointment because I'm scared he will relapse again by then and asked him if he could go again or to another general doctor or something. I didn't blame him. I'm generally scared and frustrated about the doctor appointment situations here that's taking forever. But he felt that I'm blaming him. He started giving me rude responses, and want to run away again acting he will go to another doctor. I asked him which doctoplace repeatedly but he didn't answer, and I quickly approached him (he's already in the front door and putting on his shoes) and asked him again. But he yelled that he didn't know and will figure it out outside.
For the first time ever I locked the door, because I know he can easily be extreme and in the heat of the moment vanish again rather than cool down, and told him that he could look at the doctor list here and tell me (after that I open the door), but he proceed to ch0k3d me. Once very short and he released, and even I coughed really hard, I tried to talk to him saying that I will open it anyway, but before I finish my sentence he ch0k3d me again, this time is a bit longer, I coughed nonstop the moment he pressed the middle of my neck, and I tried to gather my voice saying ''if you want to k1ll me then so be it'', that's when he stopped. He tried calling someone, I asked who he's calling, he said police because I'm imprisoning him, I said ''okay, call then''. But no one answered. He proceed to text, I said who are you texting, he said he will share to all his family that I locked him and abused him, which I already know how he will write it down and how his family especially his mother will react. I tried to stop him because I know he's unstable at the moment, and I tried to take his phone (which I managed too) so he sit down and calm down first.
I tried to talk to him, and I asked his consent that I will record audio of the talk. After the talk, I gave his phone back, and he said he will go to this doctor and he needs to leave now (he did call the hospital). I was so scared because he can be rash, I asked him to leave his wallet (just like when he offered me his ID card) and he only took his insurance card. But hours later he texted me basically he's playing the victim card, he will not be returning, they will come on the weekend for picking up stuffs, no single apology, and told me I showed 0 effort to make things work, saying he understand the timing was bad with my family but still I should IMMEDIATELY show him how serious I am saving the relationship.
I was still processing what happened and the memory of his stare when he ch0k3d me just haunting me. I got urged by my friend to report this abuse, and I managed to report it (police got through on midnight). Since we didn't know the exact date and time he will return, they asked me to not open the door when he comes again and call them, so they could come and gave him some notice to leave. Asked here and there same response. The day before he came, he informed me, and I refused, I told him to find another time/week or I will call the police (I'm scared, and the date he chose to come is on our 1st wedding anniversary which blows me more). But he refused and still came.
I already informed the police about his upcoming arrival, but the response was different. They can only give the notice if another attack happened again. But told me to not open the door and call them when he arrives. Which I did, and the first 2-3bells his mother texted me and demanded me to open the door, continued by threatening to call the police on me, some spam calls too. They managed to get inside the first door (someone opened it) and they're on the yard, his mother and little brother kept calling and yelling from there to ask me to open the door. Even threw some rocks to the window. I do feel bad, but I was waiting for the police too. When the police came, they mediated with my husband that he could only get his clothes and toiletries, other stuffs need my consent, and only him can come in the building (police were there too). Which he agreed.
He managed to gather some of his stuffs and since there's also my stuffs in his car (I didn't know where he parked), I asked him to also put my stuffs in the apartment hallway. The police told us that for that part they can't wait and need to leave soon, which we agreed. But as soon as the police left, his mother texted me again and demanded me to give more stuffs back, and when he returned to the apartment with my stuffs, his little brother also went in the building together (but he waited downstairs). I didn't want to make any fuss and closed the door everytime he went upstairs (he's only in front of the door on the hallway and not coming in anyway).
I tried to talk to my husband about his mother texted me and also his car issues, but I heard his brother yelling ''I don't give a F'', followed by his foot steps going upstairs and he continued with ''crazy woman''. After they left, the mother also tried to text me multiple times and gaslighted me that I'm being abusive and treating his son like my mother (she has NPD). She doesn't even know anything about mental issues, nor about her son mental problems, never meet or talk to my mother.
I did finally replied to his mother in a respectful manner because I don't want them to use this (me not replying) against me later, and I still see her as a MIL. I don't know what she actually wants after some text exchanges.
Generally I'm lost and don't know if what I did is right or wrong. If I'm being too harsh or not. I just got informed that I should also bring this matter to the court. But I don't know, I know for sure there will be no turning back after the court issue (not just divorce process), and whether I'm just overreacting (because they will 100% believe so).

2024.05.23 13:46 BramptonMortgage Understanding Rental Property Mortgage: A Beginner’s Guide

Understanding Rental Property Mortgage: A Beginner’s Guide
Owning rental property can be an exciting investment opportunity, offering the potential for passive income and long-term financial growth. However, navigating the world of rental property financing, particularly understanding rental property mortgages, can seem daunting for beginners. Our team at Brampton Mortgage Broker has put together this comprehensive guide for you now let’s dive into the fundamentals of rental property mortgages, exploring what they are, how they work, and essential considerations for prospective landlords.

What is a Rental Property Mortgage?

A rental property mortgage, also known as an investment property loan, is used to purchase or refinance a property that will be rented out to tenants. Unlike a traditional mortgage for a primary residence based primarily on the borrower’s income and creditworthiness, a rental property mortgage considers the property’s income potential and the borrower’s financial qualifications.

Two Types of Rental Property Mortgages

  1. Conventional Mortgages: Conventional mortgages are mortgages offered by banks or alternative lenders or banks. These types of mortgage loans will require the borrower to put a down payment of a minimum of 20% of the properties value or more.
  2. Private Mortgages or Hard Money Loans: Private Mortgages or Hard money loans are short-term, asset-based loans that real estate investors typically use for fix-and-flip projects or property acquisitions. These loans have higher interest rates and fees but provide faster funding and more flexible approval criteria.

Key Factors in Obtaining a Rental Property Mortgage

  1. Debt-to-Income Ratio: Lenders assess the borrower’s debt-to-income (DTI) ratio to determine their ability to manage additional debt obligations. A lower DTI ratio, indicating less debt relative to income, strengthens the borrower’s application for a rental property mortgage.
  2. Credit Score: A good credit score is essential for securing favorable loan terms and interest rates. However, specific requirements vary between lenders and loan programs.
  3. Rental Income: When evaluating the borrower’s loan application, lenders consider the property’s rental income potential. Rental income can offset the mortgage payment and strengthen the borrower’s financial position, but lenders may require a documented rental history or a signed lease agreement.

Pros of Rental Property Mortgages

  • Passive Income: Rental property mortgages provide a source of passive income through rental payments from tenants.
  • Appreciation: Real estate has the potential to increase in value over time, which can lead to an increase in property equity.
  • Tax Benefits: Landlords may be eligible for tax deductions on mortgage interest, property taxes, depreciation, and other expenses.
  • Portfolio Diversification: Investing in rental properties diversifies investment portfolios and reduces overall risk.

2024.05.23 13:38 Tasty-Document2808 Work is not the end of the world.

I'm a leftist and I would describe myself as leaning anarchist, so this take makes me 10th dentist amoung my contemporaries. I'm also not talking about people who really want a job, are trying really hard to get one, and feel disillusioned from spinning their wheels.
But seriously. Fuck antiwork.
Y'all must have missed the past 5000 years of human history where most of our societies have been directed by some while most do the labour to support this. At times, those arrangements have been abusive. For my own leftist clout, I'd even go far enough to say a majority of it has been abusive.
The thing is, this is not going to change. Ever. Because it's not entirely a bad thing, it can just be practiced badly. Plenty of employeemployee relations can feature a transfer of knowledge and mutual unmonetary gain for both parties. It just isn't common in our understanding of these arrangements, because our society is so driven by profit incentive. That's irrelevant to work.
Things would really be not much different in a commune larger than a couple dozen people. Eventually, society grows large enough and complex enough that it takes a certain type of person with certain types of skills to organize and maintain cohesion of society. As soon as that happens, you've opened the door to an employeemployee relationship.
We can talk about measures like UBI, unions, AI regulation, superfluous job reviews, anti-trust laws, and worker's rights as means to level the playing field, but you'll never get your 100% self-directed fantasy. Society can only exist if the people collectively agree on a way forward, and unless you're a king, that will probably not be in alignment with your personal motivations. The antiwork crowd is particularly hypocritical here, as they're honest enough about their primary motivations being apathy and feeling like they can't waste their time on their own terms while simultaneously providing basically nothing to recieve safety, security, and provision from society. In a leftist commune, someone still needs to tie and stack hay bales, jackass. Antiwork would be kicked to the curb very quickly if they refused to help and preferred to eat all our fruit.
If you want society to give to you, you must give back. The vast majority of us do so through our labour, in addition to whatever other ways we find to give. Antiwork wants something for nothing, on the basis that we should be able to provide. You should want to work. You should want to contribute to something greater than yourself. You should also be made to feel that is worth it, but antiwork isn't the answer to that.

2024.05.23 13:36 DaewooLanosMFerrr Finale Question: What’s your biggest move? Sometimes it’s not an obvious answer and holds too much weight.

I was just listening to RHAP on the way to work (admittedly, didn’t get done with all of it so this may have been brought up at some point) and the weight of this question needing an answer pointing to one specific time that you got out person “x” just, falsely imo, holds too much weight.
Kenzie didn’t ever need a “big move.” That’s the whole point. She was so likeable that she was only “mistakenly” voted for once. She wasn’t a GOAT because so many people actually loved her. Her social game is S tier which should have made her a target itself and never really did. That’s not a “big move” in the way that the jury wants to hear what a big move is, but is even more important apparently.
Charlie’s true “big move” was keeping his threat level at a minimum, while actually being lock step with who went home. That, imo, holds more weight than getting Maria out. Using her ego against her and letting her take credit for moves they both made speaks bigger volumes to me personally.
I think we got a good winner this season and really not complaining about who won (although, I think Charlie was the better overall player and honestly deserved the win), just more about the questions and time they were given to explain their respective games. Unless there was more to FTC that we just didn’t see, the players got screwed (specifically Charlie since he really had a lot to explain).

2024.05.23 13:08 asriel_theoracle Insane student job hiring process

I had applied to a student job in my university's library, bearing in mind student jobs are supposed to be entry level positions and *relatively* (I emphasise relatively) easy to obtain. I'm reasonably well qualified to work in a library with prior experience volunteering in them, and I am currently employed in a community-based role which is something else they are after.
The first process on the job application wasn't to submit a CV or anything about me. It was a Google Form with three questions asking how I would respond to various hypothetical scenarios. How do you even answer those? I really don't think that reflected me (or presumably any other candidate) at all when by that point in the application they know absolutely nothing about me other than my name.
They told me I was unsuccessful at this stage, and when I asked refused to provide feedback because of the 'number of applicants' (once again, this is a student job, surely that feedback is important?). Even if I had progressed, I would've been put through one of those video interviews where you have to record yourself answering questions for a minute. The next process was a mandatory 'applicant discovery day' before you even reached an in-person interview.
Why do interview processes seem so insanely difficult now? Everyone demands experience, even jobs at cafés, supermarkets and restaurants. I'm fortunate enough to be employed but damn

Issue Ext. - My PC is not new but not particularly old (<2yrs old) For the entire time up time to about a week ago I've had no issues whatsoever with anything of this sort, lately however, I've had an issue where video games specifically have been crashing to desktop seemingly at random but generally within the first 20 minutes of playtime. Friends of mine and I (admittedly mostly my friends) have been running various tests and attempting various fixes to try and remedy the issue/figure out specifically which part isn't working properly so it can be replaced.
Here is a list off the top of my head of the things we've checked or implements that have been unsuccessful in fixing the issue.
Checking the Core usage in Task Manager to see if any of the cores are actually abnormally, cores all functioning properly - Issue Persisted
IntelBurnTest (v2.54) on High Stress Level - CPU Showed no issues - Issue Persisted
Testing Ram Sticks individually (playing a game with only one of my RAM sticks at a time) - Crashed with both sticks when used individually or together - Issue Persisted
Unplugging and Reconnecting hardware connections - Issue Persisted
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Drivers - Issue Persisted
Upgrading to Windows 11 - Issue Persisted
Fresh Install of Windows 11 (C: Drive partitions deleted and OS reinstalled from a media key) - Issue Persisted
Testing with a different PSU (Corsair 750w) (Just the brick, Not the connections) - Issue Persisted
Testing with a different GPU (RTX 3060) - Issue Persisted
OCCT Testing: CPU test showed no issues, CPU + RAM test showed no issues - Issue Persisted
Disabling XMP Profiles, Crashed with them on and off - Issue Persisted
Underclocking CPU, seemed to help slightly but hard to know for sure with our method of testing being so unscientific - Issue Persisted
Temperature monitoring of the CPU and GPU under max load (during aforementioned tests) Temps never exceeded norms, no test failures even with thermal throttling - Issue Persisted
Changing wall outlets (we were really in the weeds here man) - Issue Persisted
Making a reddit post asking kind strangers for help - Only Time Will Tell :D
Bringing us to the most recent test, OCCT Power test (Testing just the primary GPU (3060ti) AVX2) reporting a staggering 19281995 Errors Detected during a 3 minute test despite the OCCT Test Logs only reading; 00:00:00 Test schedule started at 2024-05-23 05:48:41
00:00:00 Power - Initializing (Duration : 00:03:00)
00:00:00 Power - Started (Duration : 00:03:00)
00:03:00 Power - Test stopped
(I've made a post on OCCT regarding viewing the specific logs from this test)
Bringing us to today, shit out of luck and ideas of how to fix this issue, I will be checking this thread regularly to answer questions and look forward to entertaining ideas of how to fix this issue. Below I've included my system specifications and any other information that I feel might be helpful, thank you in advance for any advice, Cheers.
Games that crash;
Games that seem to not crash;
Sample size here is relatively small but I stopped trying to play games after getting exhausted from constant crashes.
Event Viewer reporting associated games that crashed, Example;
The program VRising.exe version 2022.3.23.46071 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed (Event ID 1002) in addition to Event ID 1000s referring to Battlebit.

2024.05.23 12:56 Sensitive-Trifle2664 I just feel my life is pointless. (20M)

Hey guys, I'm very new to Buddhism, but that's because Buddhism resonated with me on a rather spiritual level.
But it doesn't matter in the end for me. Whenever I've achieved something, small of big, I just feel empty. As in, what's the point of even pursuing "deluded" passions when it all ceases to exist, where these memories will fade like tears in the rain. (No, I'm not trying to quote Blade Runner blindly here). I just don't feel like chasing after any golden Apple because I feel if I do, I fear that I'll forget the other interests and hobbies that keep me happy. It's a vicious cycle of hunting and retreating that never ends. Personally for me, I just don't have the sustained interest to meet anyone outside neither do I wish to spend the rest of my life in a man cave.
It just feels so illogical from my end. I used to be an incredibly optimistic person. I used to have a lot of friends, although none at a spiritual level, but nonetheless someone to relate and confine to. I used to have a burning passion for the Sciences, Maths and History. Now whenever I look back, I just feel it's empty subjective interpretations of our Universe that's still unable to solve the information paradox in a black hole, and explain why quantum fuzziness exists. I do wish to find the solution, but I fear if I do so I'll be leading my life in utter delusion because any solution offered go these questions can only be answered through empirical evidence (assuming our senses don't purely inhibit the true nature of the reality we live in.) I'm scared if I pursue my ideas for inventions, I'll create a blueprint for destruction in the future projected and adapted from my findings, because even if 90% of humanity uses it for the benefit of "improving mankind" (if we can ever define improve), 10% of it can destroy it all in a nanosecond. Humans are a contradictory species. We promise and follow an idealogy, but we back off from it the moment the idealogy is disqualified if the person who invented was a bigot even though the contributions to mankind are immeasurable. I just feel there's no point because at one point in history, whatever is deemed ethical now will not be in the future. Although a well educated person would be able to find this nuance, the general public will hate him throughout their lives blindly without ever knowing what they went through. Most of us will be forgotten in 100 years time, and even if I'm a Magnus Carlsen, I'll be forgotten in millenia to come because who knows if Chess will exist then (I know it's been existing for a couple of millenia already, but what if we evolve far enough to completely absolve its charm?) If there's any struggle I usually take it in my stride but now, I realise these achievements are nothing but Maya.
I used to believe in the idealogy of the Batman, I used to even strictly follow it as much as possible by always remembering our life is defined by our actions not our past faults and regrets and trauma. But now I just feel Batman was playing Sisyphus all the while. We all are. Camus and Frankl believe it to give our life unique value, but the deeper I look at humanity, the more similar we all are. There's nothing to make us outstanding are unique between all of us. We all have a strong passion for activities we all admire, how does that correlate to uniqueness? We all have different stories, and that offers meaning, but how are we to realise if we don't know the end? And that we all go through the same worries, bouts of happiness with just a slight twist in the story? While it makes me feel less lonely, I believe we can never truly elevate ourselves to the übermensch like Nietzsche believed. Even if we were to, that would be in a sudden, drastic transformation we all may not be able to witness for millenia. Especially in this age of the internet, we all can understand and learn from others stories. That gives me a sense of security, no matter how short lived it is, because I feel it's my story. With the sensory and information overload we all have, we have nearly mapped out all the unique desires we felt were initially unique in a server.
I have thought about returning back to the community, but my parents refuse saying that the money needs to be saved up for University, which is pragmatic but honestly too safe. I have pondered billions of times to resume a fan made Batman short series I was working my ass off on when my parents dismissed it claiming I wouldn't concentrate on my studies. So when I think Recently, I started revising and preparing myself for a hectic freshman year, yet my plans unravel because I don't have the intense passion in me to excel, as I know for a fact in the first I will survive one way or the other (I'm a decent student). If I don't , does it matter? I didn't have anything to lose in the beginning, I don't have anything to lose now. Sometimes I attribute this to my fortune; I've lead an incredibly comfortable life with no qualms in the materialistic sense. But I lack something deep inside me, which I'm not sure of. Maybe I'm just a cynic, maybe I'm just being stupid.
I just feel empty.
For context, I'm a recovering (but mostly unsuccessful) PMO addict. I feel that my constant efforts to integrate and make peace with my libido have failed miserably. I have a brother and a mother I dearly love but even if I want to live for them, I don't know how to live with them. They're the only people to understand me, but they're incredibly moody and sensitive so any form of discussion with my feelings/ conflict will be amplified a thousand times. I lead a very different life without them in their presence, yet I spend most of my time with them. It's like I'm leading a contradictory life with only some hints of my true self. Nothing I try works, nothing makes sense. My real self, instead, is just a spiteful, rebellious man who doesn't even listen to himself.
And I believe the reason for that is because of my dependence to live in the moment.
I treat life like a movie. Each mood is a result of one, and then it continues linearly. It's as if my self is not there at all and all that remains is a person that lives and breathes for others.
I've been planning to do some meditation to offer relief but more I think about it the more complex the problem becomes, and it's not because it's complex, my other, 'rebellious living for others' kicks in with ease. My real self only appears whenever there is a setback that puts me in a risky situation, and even then at times I don't feel the impact it should have despite it being serious.
Guess this is the result of a bursting pit of trauma unresolved to the extent it makes me feel like I'm obeying Le Chatelier's principle. Also add a sprinkle of anxiety and a bit of depression from loneliness. I also think I may have some neurodivergent symptoms but I'm just brushing it off now.
It doesn't matter. I know I'm contradictory, shallow and devoid of a true self.
But maybe, just maybe, if there's someone here in this sub that can help me find the last ounce of optimism, force me to change my viewpoints, then perhaps there is hope that my true self is hiding out there seeking shelter in Tatooine away from Darth Vader.
TLDR; I believe I overrule whatever tasks I want to do, A lot of anxiety, loneliness and introspection, burnout on whatever I used to love, and hence why I believe it doesn't matter.

2024.05.23 12:47 RetArmyFister1981 Weekly Hours Wuestion for techs.

Please put your egos aside for a second if you can, I need to get an honest opinion on something.
How many technicians out there believe they can produce 40+ hours in one bay?
And how many of you higher level technicians out there actually have more than one bay to work out of?
Is it standard across the industry to have more than one bay?
We have a debate going on between our shops. Our techs are not producing 40+ hours a week that only have one bay. But there are some in our company that just say we have slow and lazy techs.
What do you all think?

2024.05.23 12:41 Empty_Reason5126 Taking the DELF exam - the practical experience and my tips

Hi all,
I have read a lot of advice here and elsewhere on preparing for DELF exams, but having just taken the B1 exam, I thought I would share my experience and some tips on the practical events of the exam itself. There are a few things which I thought others may find useful both while preparing and on the day of their exam. Of course, this is just my experience of a single testing centre, on a single day, so YMMV.
(Apologies in advance for the length!)
My experience was that I sat together in a room with other candidates, the “listening” section was played out loud to the room and then the clock just ran until the total time elapsed. The candidate manual indicates this is 115 minutes total (25 mins for listening, 45 for reading, 45 for writing), but in practice it was 2 hours (started at 10am, stopped at 12 noon).
My tip here is that if you are worried about the amount of time you need for the writing section, then if you are able to finish the reading section quickly (often considered the easiest section), you may have more than 45 minutes left for writing. I found I had more than an hour, which was very useful for reviewing / correcting my writing.
My tip here is that if you want to “cram” something just before the exam, you might do best to focus on audio/listening, to get your ear attuned. I just played the audio from some sample exams available online (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/@frenchnyou/videos)
My tip here is that having a colour other than black can actually be very helpful. I found for the reading section, it helped to highlight in the text where I found the answers to each of the questions. When I went back to review, I could easily see what I had highlighted, which let me quickly validate whether it was correct.
I also found having a second colour helpful during the presentation element of the speaking section; where I intended to read a quote from the article as part of my introduction and/or conclusion, rather than rewriting it in my notes, I just highlighted it in blue so I could find it quickly on the paper slip.
The reason for this, and my tip here, is to consciously leave spaces between your words as you write. Often, if you go back to correct something, it involves adding letters, or injecting a word into the sentence. This can be far easier and the result can look a lot neater if you have some space to work with.
Before you get to the speaking part, you have to select the topic for the presentation element and prepare your arguments. I was presented with about 10 pieces of paper face down, from which I picked two, turned them over to read and then selected one as my topic.
My tip here is to first pick the slips of paper that are the smallest. Others may choose differently, but my thinking was that less text would be faster to read and hopefully easier to understand.
Of the two options, I selected the one with the topic which was the most “everyday”. With only a moment to decide, I felt like just going with whatever was likely to have the most common vocabulary was the best idea.
However, my topic didn’t have a publisher and neither did the one I discarded. Of course, that’s just my experience, but I wonder whether this element has been removed from the prompting subjects.
My tip here is that you are allowed to bring both your written notes and the original piece of paper with your topic on it with you to the speaking section. Don’t waste your time re-copying sentences from the text if you don’t need to, just use your non-black coloured pen and underline / highlight the text so you can find it quickly.
My tip here is to just stay focused on the person you’re speaking to and try to ignore the distractions around you. Remember to breathe in before you respond - it gives you a few moments to compose your response and set your speaking pace.
My tip here is that apparently they often ask about whether you have been to France, or are planning to go to France, testing your conjugations. I’d recommend being prepared with answers to those questions. You might also consider “shaping” your introduction to prompt questions you are prepared for (for example I said my brother is a musician, but didn’t say which instrument - I was ready with an answer if they asked).
My tip here is to remember that you can ask questions! It is a good way to control the flow of the interaction - if you are asking questions, you know what sort of response to expect, which will help your comprehension. Plus, it gives you time to construct your next sentence while they are speaking.
My tip here again is to remember you can ask questions. I was conscious of getting my tenses right, so when I wasn’t sure, I asked “dans le futur?” for example. This let me be sure of the question and allowed me to use the right tenses in my responses.
All in all, I found the experience pretty stressful, but everyone was very nice and the process was very well-oiled.
Hopefully some of these tips may help other candidates to be successful with their exams - good luck!

2024.05.23 12:26 Previous_Ninja_332 Not understanding how to communicate as an Eastern European

I’ve lived here since I was a baby but all the people with different nationalities kinda linked together in school so maybe that’s why I feel like this, maybe I just don’t understand Irish culture. My ex partner is Irish and we have a child together.
Ever since I have moved house his family have been calling to my house uninvited and have been genuinely helping a lot with unpacking, tidying up etc. I have a baby under 3 months old.
First of all maybe this is just the Eastern European in me but I find it so strange that they keep coming over and they keep helping so much. Part of me is questioning what their motive is.
They are being very nice to me except sometimes I feel they are taking the piss out of me. For example we were setting up furniture the other day and i had to plug something in behind it. They said just go under it, it’d be easier than pulling the furniture away from the wall to get the plug. I fell for it with my stupid baby brain and went literally underneath the furniture when I realise they were just trying to make fun of me. They weren’t laughing or anything though which made it worse and I felt rlly embarrassed and cried after they left.
One of his family members keeps making “jokes” about taking my baby and offers to take my baby and let me and my ex move away to a different country, or for her to go on holiday with my baby halfway across the world.
I’m currently having trouble with my landlord as in she literally walks into my house or shows up in my back garden. One time she told me I was a good mum and if I wasn’t she would be reporting me to social workers. I perceived that as a verbal threat. I said it to his family and one of them said she would kill someone if they said that to her, the other one said the landlord was only joking.. I asked both of them if they thought this was a threat and they said no, so I just kinda left it at that..
A day or two after this happened my landlord was looking at my baby along with my MIL and my landlord goes “they’re so cute how could anyone ever hurt them” and they both went on to say they think them people are sick in the head. I think this is just a weird thing to even say in the first place.
My ex’s mum apparently knows my landlords ex-lover (someone she had an affair with) very well. That got me thinking if she knows him so well how does she not know my landlord?
I asked her about it the other day, about the affair and how she knows about it, and she all of a sudden is pretending she never knew anything about an affair and that she’s never heard of it till I said it to her..
They sat me down the other day and told me a story of a boy from my country who is “slow” and doesn’t even know how to write his name or speak his own language. They said he is an adult but acts like a child and says things like that he wants to be a robber when he grows up. They supposedly questioned him on this and in the end he changed his mind and decided he wanted to work for the council.
I laughed nervously and said “are they robbers” (they meaning the council) and the response was “idk you tell us, are insert my nationality here people robbers?”. The interaction was just so awkward.
I don’t speak my own language because I’ve lived her for so long. I’m also dealing w the council at the minute, I’m renting through HAP. Were they trying to say something about me in a roundabout way? If they have a problem with me why do they keep calling to my house?..
Another thing is my ex used to call me a rat all the time. Because I ended up in hospital homeless bc of him and me fighting (I was pregnant at the time) and a social worker approached me. We started talking and I warmed up to her and realised our fights weren’t just fights and that I was in an abusive relationship. She told me I was in an abusive relationship.
She reported everything I said to Tusla and obviously my ex went mad about it. He kept calling me a dirty rat and told me to go run back to the social workers. I do feel ashamed and embarrassed over it all. But the outcome was my child is now protected.
Fast forward to now, recently I was rustling trying to get something out of a shopping bag and one of his family members didn’t know I had come back so early (she didn’t see me). She said what’s that?? My mum was there at the time and told her it was only me. His family member goes “oh I thought it was a rat”. She uses the word rat in her vocabulary a lot around me and puts emphasis on the word.
Am I just far too sensitive? Am I plain stupid for not being able to make sense of this? If they don’t like me why are they pretending to like me? And if they do like me why are saying/doing things to embarrass and hurt me? I don’t get it.
Also one thing my ex has done a lot is pretending he doesn’t know someone, then later on I find out it’s his cousin and they literally grew up together.. is this common for Irish people to pretend they don’t know people when they really do?
My brain feels fucked trying to figure it all out. If they don’t like me why can’t they just leave me alone? I feel like I can’t breathe. Also now I’m thinking since my MIL knows my landlords ex lover so well, maybe she also knows my landlord and she has something to do with her snooping around when I’m not here?
I’m tired of trying to read all these hidden cues. Why can’t they just be upfront. I feel really stupid for not understanding. Someone clue me in.
I’d like to add my social worker has left her job suddenly and now I’m going to be assigned a different social worker which worries me a bit bc his family apparently have friends who work there.

2024.05.23 12:22 Special_Fisherman151 Detailed Inside Scoop A few clarifications regarding the Kalyani Nagar Porsche accident case in Pune

In the past few days, this situation has escalated beyond anyone's expectations. The media's focus on the matter as well as word of mouth has been immense, but this although a benefit to justice overall has brought attention to a lot of false narratives.
I am someone that is quite close to this ongoing case and also one of the witnesses not just for the accident but the events that took place after as well as prior to it. I have insider information regarding both parties and will be making 2 separate unbiased and purely analytical posts based on 100% confirmed facts in each, for each party at play which is of the driver and the rider. This one reveals secrets in support of Vedant Agarwal.
Justice should be delivered but it can only be called "justice" if all variables have been taken into account and both the accused and victims are critically assessed in an unbiased manner.

Thus, here are just a few clarifications for current common misconceptions:

Finally, I just want to make some requests. One is that everyone who goes to visit the scene of the accident to pay their respects to the deceased, PLEASE wear helmets when you come on two-wheelers. The amount of people I see on an almost daily basis show up there to spread awareness about rules and regulations and following correct traffic laws while repeating the same mistakes seems so disrespectful to the deceased in my opinion. I do not care if you have a death wish and hate wearing helmets for your daily commute, but at least when showing up for this, wear one. If you see someone there who isn't wearing one, tell them to wear one. They're not too expensive when you understand how valuable they are. Two is that people need to go a little bit easier on the father, yes it was his carelessness and lack of dealing with his responsibilities that played a part in causing the accident but at the same time, from a father's perspective, he was just trying to give his child a life he was probably unable to have. We all want to earn to keep our families happy and satisfied and work hard in discomfort so that they live easily, he wanted the same but got carried away by it. Blame him for his irresponsibility but don't call him a murderer and throw ink on him when his only mistake was to trust his own son. I personally find the managers at Cosie, Blak and Ballr as well as the RTO police and authorities that allowed these places to stay operating that late at night at more fault than the father. At the same time, when you do speak of Vedant even, do remember that he indeed is just a child and has a not fully developed brain, you aren't telling an adult who caused an accident to kill himself or worse but a child that was already going through severe depression and other mental as well as physical troubles. Justice will be served and I believe in us to gain it, but we must be weary of in what manner we wish to gain it.
Just for clarification: I AM IN NO WAY IN SUPPORT OF VEDANT AGARWAL, HIS FAMILY OR ANY OF THE OTHERS AT FAULT OR IN RELATIONS TO THIS CASE. I SIMPLY NOTICED HOW ONE SIDED THE SITUATION IS AND FOR ETHICAL FAIRNESS MADE THIS POST.

2024.05.23 12:09 Groffulon Replays are for the fans at home NOT for the players. This is why I lose all respect for you if you watch your goals at any rank.

Imagine if every time Christiano Ronaldo scores a goal he stops the game and goes to the side of the pitch. He then gathers both the teams round a small television and shush’s the fans then makes them watch his goal replay going “Look at me I rolled the ball over the f line. Look how f important I am!”. Then, and only then, will he allow the match to be restarted… This is what you look like…
What do you think the players and fans in the stadium would say as he wastes time in an already time wasting sport like Football/Soccer. They’d tell even CR7 to wind his neck in and play on. Even his ego/skill isn’t important enough to watch a replay of one of the greatest players in the world score during a match.
What makes your goal where a computer does 90% of the work special? Nothing, literally nothing.
Now he could watch these goals in his own time but NO he chooses to make every match AT LEAST 10-20% longer because he is a vain dopamine deficient trash can that revels in mediocre achievements. Oh wait no that’s most of the players in this game.
I’ve played more than 30,000 matches so 10% or 20% is between 3,000 and 6000 matches. That’s how long I’ve been watching your fing goals for at the min…
Seriously there is no reason to make everyone watch your goals. You’re just wasting everyone’s time including your own. If it’s that good then watch it in your own time after the game.
On top of that all goal xps are trash and none are rare now like they used to be. I dont care if you spend $20 in the shop on it it’s trash.
And if you say “but they play all the goal replays in the RLCS”. Yes they do but who is that for? It’s for the viewers at home. Watch any high level play in any other situation and they will insta quit every goal and every match. This is the way or at least it should be.
I wish every one felt as I do but even I can see I’m in a minority. I just wish I could have a mode with no replays, no goal xps. Just play the game and get on with it.

2024.05.23 12:01 aarvyedutech What is the difference between Data Analytics, Data Analysis, Data Mining, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Big Data?

What is the difference between Data Analytics, Data Analysis, Data Mining, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Big Data?
Difference Between

The world of data can be a confusing one! Terms like "data analytics," "data mining," and "machine learning" get thrown around a lot, but what exactly do they mean? Don't worry, this guide will be your decoder ring. We'll break down each of these data science buzzwords, explain the difference between them, and show you why they all matter. Get ready to have your data vocabulary shine!
Data Analytics
Data Analytics: Turning Raw Data into Answers
Imagine a treasure chest overflowing with raw data – unorganised facts and figures. Data Analytics is the key that unlocks its secrets. It's the science of examining this data using statistics and other tools to discover patterns, trends, and hidden connections. The ultimate goal of Data Analytics is to answer specific questions or solve problems by making sense of the information.
Data Analytics can be broken down into four stages, each with a distinct focus:
Hindsight is 20/20: Descriptive Analytics - This stage is all about summarising past data to understand what happened previously. It's like looking back at a company's sales reports to see how things have been going.
Why Did That Happen? Diagnostic Analytics - Here, the focus shifts to uncovering the reasons behind past trends or outcomes. Imagine analysing customer feedback data to understand why a product launch wasn't as successful as expected.
Crystal Ball Time: Predictive Analytics - This stage uses historical data and statistical algorithms to forecast what might happen in the future.
For example, analysing website traffic patterns to predict peak browsing times.
Taking Action: Prescriptive Analytics - This stage goes beyond prediction by suggesting specific actions or strategies based on the forecasts. Imagine using predicted sales figures to optimise inventory levels for a retail store.
By utilising these different techniques, Data Analytics empowers us to learn from the past, anticipate the future, and make informed decisions that lead to better outcomes.
Data Analysis
Data analysis isn't about letting information gather dust; it's about breathing new life into it! Imagine a cluttered storage room full of unlabeled boxes - that's raw data. Data analysis is the key that unlocks its potential. It's like meticulously organising the room, cleaning and sorting everything. Charts and graphs become your filing system, making information easily accessible. Sometimes, you even build tools (models) to predict what might be hidden deeper within the data. It's a detective's work, uncovering hidden patterns and insights. In the end, data analysis transforms this graveyard of information into a powerful engine that fuels informed decision-making in the real world.
Key Components:
1. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): This involves visualising and summarising data to understand its structure, patterns, and relationships.
2. Statistical Analysis: Utilises statistical methods to analyse data and draw inferences about populations or phenomena.
3. Quantitative Analysis: Involves the use of mathematical and computational techniques to analyse numerical data.
4. Qualitative Analysis: Focuses on interpreting non-numerical data such as text, images, or videos.
Data Mining
Data Mining is the process of discovering patterns, correlations, or anomalies in large datasets using techniques from machine learning, statistics, and database systems. It aims to extract actionable knowledge from raw data by identifying hidden patterns or relationships that are not immediately apparent.
Key Techniques:
1. Association Rule Mining: Identifies relationships between variables in large datasets, such as market basket analysis in retail.
2. Classification: Predicts categorical labels or classes based on input variables, such as spam detection in emails.
3. Clustering: Groups similar data points together based on their attributes, such as customer segmentation.
4. Anomaly Detection: Identifies outliers or unusual patterns in data that deviate from normal behaviour, such as fraud detection in financial transactions.
Data Science
Data Science: Unlocking secrets from information
Data Science is a mix of different fields like statistics, programming, and business knowledge. It's like a detective kit for uncovering hidden meaning in data. This involves cleaning up raw data, choosing the right pieces, building tools to analyse it, and then making sense of the results.
Here's the breakdown:
Data Preparation: Imagine this as gathering clues. We collect information, organize it, and get it ready for examination.
Feature Engineering: This is like picking the most relevant clues. We select the most important pieces of data to focus on.
Model Building: We build tools (models) to analyze the data like a detective uses a fingerprint scanner. These models can learn from patterns and make predictions.
Interpretation: Finally, we interpret the results to solve the mystery. This is where we turn the findings into practical solutions and recommendations
Machine Learning
Machine Learning is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses on developing algorithms and models that can learn from data and make predictions or decisions without explicit programming. It involves the use of statistical techniques to enable computers to improve their performance on a specific task over time.
Key Types of Machine Learning:
1. Supervised Learning: Trains models on labelled data to make predictions or classifications, such as regression or classification tasks.
2. Unsupervised Learning: Extracts patterns or structures from unlabeled data without predefined categories, such as clustering or dimensionality reduction.
3. Reinforcement Learning: Teaches agents to make sequential decisions by rewarding desirable behaviours and penalising undesirable ones, such as in-game playing or robotics.
  • Big Data
Big Data refers to large and complex datasets that exceed the processing capacity of traditional database systems or software tools. It is characterized by the volume, velocity, and variety of data generated from various sources such as social media, sensors, and mobile devices.
  • Key Characteristics:
1. Volume: Refers to the sheer amount of data generated, often ranging from terabytes to petabytes in size.
2. Velocity: Describes the speed at which data is generated, collected, and processed in real-time or near real-time.
3. Variety: Encompasses the diverse types and formats of data, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from different sources.
Conclusion
Don't worry, data science doesn't have to be scary! Even though there are a lot of fancy terms like "data analytics" and "data mining," they all mean the same thing: figuring out what your data is really telling you. Whether you're a business or just an individual, understanding how to use data effectively is like having a superpower. It can help you make smarter choices, come up with new ideas faster, and stay on top of your game. This guide is here to clear up the confusion and give you the knowledge you need to jump into the exciting world of data science. So, whether you're looking at customer habits, improving how things are done, or building brand-new systems, this knowledge will help you unlock the true potential of data!

2024.05.23 11:48 guiltyofnothing “You are obviously male and probably bald and do not understand the art that Hair is” Gratuitous insults over gratuities as /r/tipping debates ending tipping

The Context:

/tipping is a sub dedicated to “discussions about U.S. tipping traditions.” OOP makes a post asking how people can practically end tipping culture.
The sub appears fairly split in response, with a lively debate ensuing.

The Drama:

A fundamental question is asked:
You should get a tip because you had to do your job?
So also because I’m a Hairstylist, I don’t deserve a tip? We are paid accordingly to tipping. There are many restaurants that are paying people higher and charging more because they’re no longer accepting people tipping and that’s fine.
No, you don't deserve a tip for simply doing the job you were hired for. However, if your client feels like you provided excellent service then they have the option to tip you as they see fit. A tip is something you earn, not something you are entitled to.
Also believe me, even if you’re picking it up, I promise you having been a server in many of these situations we do deserve the tip we’ve put in a lot of labor behind the scenes and you guys never see it stocking all of the stuff that we put your food in and you think it’s we’re doing our job but they pay us because America doesn’t recognize minimum wage with tips we are paid lower because we are tipped
Complain to your employer or get a different job. That is not the customers problem. You know the role of the job you were applying for and how much the wage was when you were hired on.
[Continued:]
You are seriously delusional. I hope no one spits in your food.
See, I kinda hope someone does spit in his food, even though I know it's really extremely rare. I really do hope next time they order take out from a sit-down restaurant where they refuse to tip, they have a long ride home, getting stuck in traffic extra long, so the food is off temperature just long enough to still look, smell and taste fine, but have just enough bacteria to give them some terrible, but temporary, gastrointestinal distress. I think a day or 2 of intense cramping, explosive diarrhea, and projectile vomiting would be fitting karma.
That is a definite sign of professionalism.
[…]
You are obviously male and probably bald and do not understand the art that Hair is
One person has a simple solution:
If you're having control issues just don't out to eat.lol y'all wild.
Based on your level of grammar, I have to assume you are a server. No one else can survive being this clueless.
You lost me here, this was completely uncalled for.
You are a seriously arrogant prick.
Recently retired as a server. Made $40-60/hr. How 'bout you?
Based on your level of inconsideration, I have to assume you are a piece of shit
Based on your manners. You a bitch
Accusations of dishonesty are levied:
There's a social obligation to tip. And remember, if you plan on revisiting a restaurant where you stiff the servers, expect terrible service.
There is absolutely no obligation to do so, but if you are delusional enough to believe it, go ahead and keep tipping.
Because of the wack tipping culture in America, I rarely go out to eat, and when I do, it’s almost always a fine dining experience, where the servers deserve to be tipped for above and beyond service for good wine recommendations, a table we asked for, and willing to make me or my guests something off the menu for dietary needs/restrictions. Otherwise, I prefer to cook and eat at home.
I served for decades. Made $2.13/hr wage, $40-$60/hr tips. I wasn't referring to tip jars. Please don't add to the hate.
Ah… the $2.13 LIE.
When you lie about your wage we can not believe anything else you say.
What'd I lie about now?
[Continued:]
If you make less than the Federal Minimum Wage your employer is MANDATED BY FEDERAL LAW to pay you the difference. So you never walk home making $2.13 an hour.
It’s never the customers’ fault that you ASKED for that job.
In every restaurant I've ever worked, the second time you put in for wage compensation, you're fired. Stop making like you discovered something. That bullshit is not an option. You're just showing your ignorance.
You are still to be paid minimum wage as dictated by Federal law.
You need to stand up for yourself. I don’t know the name for someone like that.
A server pushes back:
You tell the person serving you at the start of the meal that you don’t believe in tipping, because you are strong in your convictions and beliefs, and not a coward. As a server, I will take your order, bring your food and drink, and drop the check, and that’s absolutely it. I won’t refill your drinks, explain anything on the menu, modify your order, ask if you want anything else, bus your table, or speak to you in any manner. Sound good?
Just toss a few coins on the table so she knows you didn’t forget.
Again, I expect cowardice moves from cowards. Big flex, Big Guy.
38 cents - buy yourself something nice. 😘
Least I don’t have to work constantly like you do to passively aggressively show my dominance. LMAO
[Continued:]
“Work” 😂LMFAO🤣
I guess when a person fetches food they think making sure the coins land next to the dirty plates instead of the floor is “work.” 😂💸💸
Exactly, I work 25 hrs a week, it’s nice. Lots more to do in life. Like go to the beach and travel. But let me tell you, I’ll be super sad at the beach thinking about how you dominated me with that coin comment. Gee whiz, hope I can get through the day off.
“Work” 😂🤣
The beach sucks. Please spend every minute you can in the sun.
If I wasn’t in your head you would stop replying. 🤣
Back at you. And I’m too pale to be in the direct sun.
[…]
I won’t refill your drinks, explain anything on the menu, modify your order, ask if you want anything else, bus your table, or speak to you in any manner
It's funny that you think I care. I tip you out of pity. Not because you are providing a great service I can't live without. You are worthless. Try to remember that the next time you demand tips.
Honestly, it would be so much easier if all servers are shitheads like you. If I knew you are my server, I would never tip a single penny. Unfortunately, there are a few nice servers.
It’s funny you think I care what you think. Oh no, own_solution7820 pities me. Whatever will I do!
Wow, what a brilliant comeback. I misjudged you. You might actually be as smart as a 4 year old.
One user is called out and things get personal:
Raven is acting like it’s their restaurant bc someone isn’t tipping them. I was a server for over a decade. You win and lose some. I usually won bc I was outstanding and my service indirectly demanded compensation. If I don’t receive it, upset yes but this entitled attitude like you own the joint is part of the problem. Yes you are going to go over the menu, and yes you will answer simple questions. At the end maybe you get a tip. It’s how the business model works.
LOL. You obvi didn’t read well bc I get maybe 5 non tippers a calendar year, work 25 hours a week, and travel often. My tip average is 19%. All I said was have the balls to admit your stance from the beginning, but of course, y’all don’t have the backbone for that. Just keyboard warriors!
Your BF broke up with you for a reason it seems.
You’re an example of a keyboard warrior. I read it all. I’ve served and have my opinion. Made the point to that you think you own the place. And you contradict yourself by saying it doesn’t matter yet give a scenario where you give them no service. It’s not your choice that’s what you’re missing. You’re a replaceable employee not the owner. We all are replaceable at our jobs, you just seem entitled.
Yet still there making good money.
they’re not there. You’re the second server I’ve seen on Reddit today who has improper grammar yet expects to be paid like a professional with a college degree. Wowza.
[Continued:]
Are you out of your mind? LMAO. I work THERE. Not I work THEY ARE. Dumb ass. Amazing.
Two users bicker, with one nuking their comments:
Tipping has gotten out of hand. I'm a stylist of almost 40 years, my clients do tip me because I always remember things about them and act on that. The guy that's a mechanic gets an extra neck massage during shampoo. The gal that just got done teaching a workout class gets a bottle of water that I pay for out of my own pocket. The list goes on for each client.
tip for me, not for thee. got it.
You don't get it. Those who go over and above deserve tips. Got it now?
Edit: when in doubt, delete your comment so it looks like the one who is describing you is actually saying what you said
Hard disagree. Good service is tionwoethy in many professions. By your logic a taxi driver or Uber driver who is quiet and gets you there efficiently gets no tip because they are doing their job. They don’t have repeat customers like you do when giving people a massage. Bartenders also who do their job and get me a drink. I don’t need them flirting or whatever above and beyond in your mind is for that job. Good service and tip. Yes I know you and many people would refuse to tip for those services which is your right
Where did you get flirting from, are you crazy?
You specifically said you don’t tip for doing a job. You said someone has to go above and beyond to get a tip to another person questioning your comments. Many bartenders do flirt for tips, if you don’t think that is true you are the crazy one ma’am. There are so many jobs that deserve a tip for doing their service. One doesn’t need to go above and beyond in these roles for a tip which you say is the only reason to tip and what they are designed for. Hence my comment that hard disagree with your original statement. I can do without any of that just do your job and it’s a tip
I absolutely did not say that i don't tip, I said it's getting out of hand. And if you think I'm a bartender, you're the crazy one, ma'am.
[Continued:]
Well since you deleted your comments that I cited I can’t show them back to you. But you said how tipping is out of control. As a hair stylist you will give people massages or get them a water / that is going above and beyond and tip worthy. No question it is. You also said doing basic service shouldn’t be tipped and tips are designed specifically for going above and beyond. My whole point is I hard disagree with you, take the taxi or Uber or bartender example - I tip for doing the job efficiently and don’t even try to go above and beyond that’s not what I want. Some will agree with you only to tip on exceptional (above and beyond service) and others may agree with me that tips are designed only for those going above and beyond and doing a service correctly can be tipped too
I did say tipping is out of control, I never denied that. I agree with you about the Uber, taxi thing that you've repeated a few times, for me it's the picking up a muffin at a counter and there's a tip jar, for what? That's what I'm referring to. You said I was a bartender, I'm not. Geez, I didn't know that I'd have to go in such full detail for you.
And I deleted those comments because I was sick of you taking it the wrong way not making myself clear enough for you and you putting words in my mouth. I never said I don't tip.
Well, my new pen pal, it's late and I no longer have the time to write. I hope you see this before I delete all of this, you are being negative and hell-bent on thinking I mean things that I don't. I sincerely hope that it's not because you had a bad day, tomorrow is always better. I really do mean that, all the best to you and good night.

2024.05.23 11:44 Previous-Front-5211 Freelancing in F-2-7 question

Hello!
One more person here trying to survive the visa struggles in korea kkk. I had a couple of questions that I cannot see anywhere answered and it would be awesome if anyone in here has some insights.
If I get an F-2-7 visa I have seen that I could freelance. However, as I am scared of immigration office, my main fear is while extending the issues I may have. If I am earning all my income in korea through freelancing my own business (paying taxes in korea) and reach the income and point requirements could I extend F-2-7 or do I need to be working at a company?
My second question is, if I get the F-2-7 visa and go back to my country for a few months and come back (to freelance there in summer paying taxes in korea) will I have any issue for the extension?
Thanks so much to this amazing community!!

2024.05.23 11:44 APatheticPoetic Easy Beginner Banner Reroll Guide Without Leaving JinZhou!

Hello fellow Travelers, I mean Rovers. Just finished my rerolling session and wanted to share all the tips and tricks I picked up. After I got used to my route, I got the timing down to under an hour per run (if you have to go the full 50 pulls) which is not too terrible in my opinion. A lot of it is button mash simulator but oh well, just watch some Youtube on the side. NOTICE this is solely for pulling the discounted beginner banner, and not for Xiao, I mean Jiyan. As far as I can see, there's no easy way to score enough rolls for his banner until they mail the 10 premium wishes out. Anyway, let's begin.
First, pick the 2 standard 5* characters you like the most/want to start with. In my case, it was Calcharro and Verina. In doing so, since there are only 5 standard 5*s at the moment, you have a 40% chance of getting who you want in 1 attempt, which is pretty good. Most of you will achieve success in 1 or 2 tries. THe rest of you will be like me and have to suffer. If you're okay with 3 or 4, it gets even easier. If you're okay with any of them, why are you reading this? (just kidding)
It does look like salted emails do not work so you will have to make new email accounts for each attempt, but the registration process isn't that long, just a couple of minutes. Once you start the game, you're immediately hit with a 2-3 minute unskippable cutscene so go get some water and a snack. Progress the story until you fight the big golem. There are 2 chests in the construction site to the left, and 2 more down the path to continue the story. Keep spamming that F button and make sure to pick up the waypoints, I mean Resonance Beacons as you go. Keep progressing the story until you fight the Crownless, and then the golem that you can absorb.
As you make your way towards Liyue, I mean JinZhou, there is a monster kill challenge and a Seelie, I mean Mutterfly challenge. Run past the laser Whopperflower, I mean Roseshroom. Follow the quest marker to an Oculus, I mean Sonance Cache and pick that up, then continue to town. Pick some Mint, I mean Lemongrass for good luck.
After the cutscene, you finally make it to town. Keep moving until you get to the bridge. There's a little shack like structure with a dog. Pet it for good luck. Then look past it until you see a big yellow mushroom. Jump and glide towards it and climb up. Talk to Chenpi and turn in your Sonance Cache. The first turn in gives you a free pull and some Primo-, I mean Asterite. Continue to the Statue-, I mean Resonance Nexus and progress the quest. As you approach the Jade-, I mean Grand Library, don't forget to pick up the Resonance Beacon on the right. Once you're done meeting the Cryo- I mean Glacio mommy, head outside and talk to the child for free candy and an achievement. Then begin Spidermanning your way to the next location.
As you approach the building, grapple up on the roof. There's two chests here, one is a jumping challenge. Collect those and don't forget to grab the Beacon on the side. Then enter the building to speak with the Healing mommy. You'll fight some goons and get trapped in the simulation. Wake up. Wake up. WAKE UP. Once you do, you can finally wish- I mean Convene, sweet. Claim the code WUTHERINGGIFT for some Asterite and collect your mail, including the 20 free pulls, bless. Cross your fingers and click that Convene button.
If you got who you wanted in the 2 multis you can do, congrats you lucky bastard. If not, you're gonna have to work a bit harder. Prepare to smash the F button for a while. When you go to pick up the box of parts, remember to drop the other box on your toe for maximum damage and reset your bad RNG. Then spam F some more. You'll go outside to a cutscene and then wait out the night without sleep like a freak. Come morning, your girls will come get you for some breakfast.
In the back of the market area, there's a chest, next to the snail shells. Eat up Chixia's spicy noods for some good luck. Proceed to Yhan's BDSM dungeon, I mean training camp to progress the quest. There's also another chest in a tent behind a doggo. Pet for good luck. This next part is important. Walk forward to the quest marker until you see it complete. DO NOT WALK ANY FURTHER or you will trigger a long ass cutscene with a ton of F mashing. If you have followed along religiously, you should have just enough exp to reach Adventure, I mean Union rank 5. If not, do the training dungeon for Union exp, you start off with capped resin, I mean Waveplates anyway. Open up the events tab and claim 1 pull from the daily login and 5 pulls for reaching level 5. You will have enough free pulls for another multi. Pray to RNGesus and click the summon button. Cry because you didn't get anything. Open up Paimo- I mean the store and go to the item exchange of your Star- I mean Oscillated Coral. Buy as many free pulls as you can get, I got 5 at this point, which is enough for another free multi of sorrow. If you got your desired character here, congratulations. If not, you're gonna have to work even harder, and also we approach a bit of a controversial part of this guide.
Go back to the item exchange and get the rest of your free summons. Now we have to pull up the interactive map and collect a couple more caches. There are actually a few that are really close together next to the turn in guy. Collect 3 caches and make the second turn in, which gives us a free summon and some Asterite. The next turn in does not award more summons so we're done here. Next go towards the nearby gift box icon on the map. It's on a lower level than Chenpi, so you'll have to jump down.
Once you find Ganxue, the gift shop owner, say hi for good luck. Then turn 180 degrees around and talk to Xiuyi. We're gonna do work for our summons by doing backflips. That's right: backflips. DO THOSE FLIPS. GET GOOD AT IT. You're rewarded with some chests that give you more Asterite.
At this point, you should have 3 free pulls left. There's no easy way to get more, at least not that I could find so we need to spend 800 Asterite to buy out the Beginner Banner. Now I know, this is Rookie Trap Number 1: DO NOT SPEND PREMIUM CURRENCY ON THE STANDARD BANNER. It's solid advice. If you want to follow it, simply make a new attempt and try to get the 5* in 4 multis instead of the guaranteed 5. Or even better, wait a couple days until they mail the free 10 standard pulls. But in my opinion, the guaranteed start with a character you like on Day 1 is worth 5 premium pulls to me, so I just went for it. Up to you to decide if it's worth it to you as well.
And there you have it: you cleared the beginner banner without leveing JinZhou and are at Union level 5. You can now play the game with your desired 5* AND you get to select another banner for ANOTHER guaranteed 5* you like. A pretty damn good start in my opinion. *cough* Genshin could never *cough* Just kidding, but I wish all of you Rovers and Wuthering Waves a fantastic launch.
DISCLAIMERS
There's no need to reroll, all characters are viable: Yes, you don't have to reroll if you don't want to. It is a long and arduous process that's not for everyone. I myself had to do this process 5 times over 6 hours (5% of people will have to suffer like me by the way) so I know the pain. However, it's worth it to me to start my journey with 2 characters I like guaranteed, so I reroll. Plus, knowing my luck, I would never see Calcharro/Verina for years if I keep playing for that long.
Standard characters will get power crept so easily, you wasted your time: True. I may not be using Calcharro in a year or so, but I do know that I will greatly enjoy my first year so much more with Calcharro (and Yinlin my queen) than with Ling Yang (my first attempt result). And that enjoyment is worth my time.
OMG you idiot, you used Asterite on the standard character lmao: Yes, definitely not the most efficient choice, but I explained my reasoning: I would much rather be playing on Day 1 with my desired character than on Day 3-4. Future rovers who come across this guide will not have to make this decision, and can start their game with all their Asterite. I envy their efficiency.
Tl;Dr: Progress story until you're about to leave the city gates, collecting every damn thing you see that gives Asterite. You will need 4 Sonance Caches to turn in for 2 free pulls. Reach level 5 Union for more pulls. Do backflips for more Asterite. In the end, you'll end up with 35 free pulls and need 800 Asterite to make up the difference. Good luck to you all. Happy Roving!
