Hello I remembered this gem from a few years ago and think this will be perfect for this channel. Also apologies for this being so long so much happened here that I just remembered. Also I’m a junior in high school currently on summer break about to be a senior. This happened back in 2019 when I was in sixth grade summer break going on too seventh grade.
On that day I was invited to a “pool party” for my dads friends daughter returning from vacation in Mexico with her grandmother. Will call the daughter ED (entitled daughter) well ED was just returning and wanted to go swimming. She just got a pool built in her backyard that looked identical to mine just hers had a hot tub ours did not. I expected to just go to EM house (entitled mom) because she lived next door. Turns out the party wasn’t at her house. I assumed this meant we would be going to a friends house in the neighborhood but no. We all hopped into the car to head to the public pool. I was cool with it thankfully my mom gave me money for food just in case the pool party wasn’t at somebody’s house.
We get to the pool just for EM to expect us to pay for our own bracelets. I’m cool with it due to having my own money but I was confused. I assumed since she invited us out she was paying for us. I pay for my ticket but I turn to see my friends I’ll call them Esmeralda and Ashley. Esmeralda is the younger one of the sisters close to ED age and the older sister Ashley is about my age. They both didn’t bring any money because we thought we were swimming at somebody’s house and not a public pool. EM started scolding them and payed mumbling about how their mom owes them now. Isabella the youngest there payed for herself because her family had gave her money. Lastly ED older cousin by three years was payed for only because he’s family and his mom was sending money to his aunt when he stayed there.
So we finally get in and I’m really hungry and decided I’m going to eat first because I skipped breakfast I think. I got a lot of food due to my mom giving me 20 dollars. From what I remember I got a hotdog some chips ice cream and slushy. I understand how crazy it was that I ate that but I had some issues at the time at home. To sum it because I don’t feel like getting too into it basically to sum it up I ate whatever I wanted when I wasn’t home because my family was controlling over food. I also had health issues that made me eat more plus medication. Anyways EM looked at me in disgust and said “you shouldn’t eat all that because” she wondered off. I knew what she was trying to say but she remembered that my dad is friends with her fiancé and if she said what she was planning to say it can cause issues. So she remembered something that she thought would work. She said “your mom wouldn’t be okay with you eating all that” I responded but I don’t recall what it was that I told her.
I got into the pool after eating and played in the water for a bit. Every time I lightly splashed my friend Ashley or ED EM would get mad and yell at me and Ashley because we were the oldest and should “act our age”. We were also then expected to watch the little kids and follow them around. Me and Ashley didn’t want too but did so because it got embarrassing being starred at by everyone when EM would yell at us. Me and Ashley barely got to do what we wanted in the pool mind you me and Ashley are in 6th and 7th grade watching a 4th grader 3rd grader and a second grader. Instead of enjoying the pool. If me and Ashley knew we were going to be used as unpaid babysitters we would have stayed home and swam at my house.
The kids got out of the pool because they got hungry. So we followed I also wanted a popsicle because it hit 103° at that time. When we first got to the pool it was about 95°. EM side eyed me and said “you don’t need anymore food because I ate four hours ago”. (We were at this pool for about nine hours in total) I said I know but I just want a popsicle. So she allowed me to take my coin purse back and buy one. At first she said I have to give the other kids the rest of my money so they can eat. I lied and said popsicles were two dollars and I only have two left. EM got upset and scolded me saying I shouldn’t have gotten all that food and now the other wouldn’t get to eat. I brought my own money and so did Isabella. EM pulled out five dollars and told them to share but when Isabella refuse the money saying she had her own EM asked how much she had and she said she had 30 or 40 dollars but her mom said it’s only for her and to return the rest to her mom. EM took back her five and said Isabella has to pay for all the kids because she has the most money and her mom would be fine with it. (Also EM never payed back Isabella’s mom the kids cost her 30 dollars).
I got a popsicle and I bought the last sour patch kids which was for my older brother because he was Sumer nice to me that week. I enjoyed two popsicles and placed the candy in my bag secretly because I didn’t want to let the other kids see the candy. EM shamed Jack Isabella ED and Esmeralda for what they got. I shared with Ashley some of my food because we were super close. EM was mad that I didn’t share with her daughter ED.
We went swimming again afterwards and came back a few hours later too EM complaining about random stuff then wanting to leave. So we packed up our stuff and Ashley was complaining about hunger too me quietly too not be scolded by EM for not making Isabella pay for her meal. So I gave her a few sour patch kids because I accidentally opened the box when I grabbed my clothes. I put the box back quietly and then I turn to EM who was shaming me for buying candy and not sharing with the other kids. She then says “OP you need to share with the other kids because you ate enough for today”. When the other kids heard I had candy they all ran up begging for candy. When I tried to explain to EM the candy is mainly for my brother she accused me of lying and said I had to share. The kids ran to my bag and excited for candy and EM took the candy from my bag and shared it between all the kids. After give the kids hand fills of candy she gave me and Ashley three pieces each for being “greedy”.
The only thing that kept me looking forward to this day was going to pick up ice cream at a ice cream shop. As soon as we got close though EM said we don’t deserve ice cream and said we will get some at her house. As soon as we get there we got mini otter pops. Ashley declined because she wanted ice cream and went home to get some from her house. Everyone else shockingly enough including me got and otter pop. Only half though because we didn’t deserve a full otter pop. (It was also the mini otter pop’s). I went home disappointed but didn’t tell my parents for fear of getting in trouble for the food I ate.

Hello I remembered this gem from a few years ago and think this will be perfect for this channel. Also apologies for this being so long so much happened here that I just remembered. Also I’m a junior in high school currently on summer break about to be a senior. This happened back in 2019 when I was in sixth grade summer break going on too seventh grade.
On that day I was invited to a “pool party” for my dads friends daughter returning from vacation in Mexico with her grandmother. Will call the daughter ED (entitled daughter) well ED was just returning and wanted to go swimming. She just got a pool built in her backyard that looked identical to mine just hers had a hot tub ours did not. I expected to just go to EM house (entitled mom) because she lived next door. Turns out the party wasn’t at her house. I assumed this meant we would be going to a friends house in the neighborhood but no. We all hopped into the car to head to the public pool. I was cool with it thankfully my mom gave me money for food just in case the pool party wasn’t at somebody’s house.
We get to the pool just for EM to expect us to pay for our own bracelets. I’m cool with it due to having my own money but I was confused. I assumed since she invited us out she was paying for us. I pay for my ticket but I turn to see my friends I’ll call them Esmeralda and Ashley. Esmeralda is the younger one of the sisters close to ED age and the older sister Ashley is about my age. They both didn’t bring any money because we thought we were swimming at somebody’s house and not a public pool. EM started scolding them and payed mumbling about how their mom owes them now. Isabella the youngest there payed for herself because her family had gave her money. Lastly ED older cousin by three years was payed for only because he’s family and his mom was sending money to his aunt when he stayed there.
So we finally get in and I’m really hungry and decided I’m going to eat first because I skipped breakfast I think. I got a lot of food due to my mom giving me 20 dollars. From what I remember I got a hotdog some chips ice cream and slushy. I understand how crazy it was that I ate that but I had some issues at the time at home. To sum it because I don’t feel like getting too into it basically to sum it up I ate whatever I wanted when I wasn’t home because my family was controlling over food. I also had health issues that made me eat more plus medication. Anyways EM looked at me in disgust and said “you shouldn’t eat all that because” she wondered off. I knew what she was trying to say but she remembered that my dad is friends with her fiancé and if she said what she was planning to say it can cause issues. So she remembered something that she thought would work. She said “your mom wouldn’t be okay with you eating all that” I responded but I don’t recall what it was that I told her.
I got into the pool after eating and played in the water for a bit. Every time I lightly splashed my friend Ashley or ED EM would get mad and yell at me and Ashley because we were the oldest and should “act our age”. We were also then expected to watch the little kids and follow them around. Me and Ashley didn’t want too but did so because it got embarrassing being starred at by everyone when EM would yell at us. Me and Ashley barely got to do what we wanted in the pool mind you me and Ashley are in 6th and 7th grade watching a 4th grader 3rd grader and a second grader. Instead of enjoying the pool. If me and Ashley knew we were going to be used as unpaid babysitters we would have stayed home and swam at my house.
The kids got out of the pool because they got hungry. So we followed I also wanted a popsicle because it hit 103° at that time. When we first got to the pool it was about 95°. EM side eyed me and said “you don’t need anymore food because I ate four hours ago”. (We were at this pool for about nine hours in total) I said I know but I just want a popsicle. So she allowed me to take my coin purse back and buy one. At first she said I have to give the other kids the rest of my money so they can eat. I lied and said popsicles were two dollars and I only have two left. EM got upset and scolded me saying I shouldn’t have gotten all that food and now the other wouldn’t get to eat. I brought my own money and so did Isabella. EM pulled out five dollars and told them to share but when Isabella refuse the money saying she had her own EM asked how much she had and she said she had 30 or 40 dollars but her mom said it’s only for her and to return the rest to her mom. EM took back her five and said Isabella has to pay for all the kids because she has the most money and her mom would be fine with it. (Also EM never payed back Isabella’s mom the kids cost her 30 dollars).
I got a popsicle and I bought the last sour patch kids which was for my older brother because he was Sumer nice to me that week. I enjoyed two popsicles and placed the candy in my bag secretly because I didn’t want to let the other kids see the candy. EM shamed Jack Isabella ED and Esmeralda for what they got. I shared with Ashley some of my food because we were super close. EM was mad that I didn’t share with her daughter ED.
We went swimming again afterwards and came back a few hours later too EM complaining about random stuff then wanting to leave. So we packed up our stuff and Ashley was complaining about hunger too me quietly too not be scolded by EM for not making Isabella pay for her meal. So I gave her a few sour patch kids because I accidentally opened the box when I grabbed my clothes. I put the box back quietly and then I turn to EM who was shaming me for buying candy and not sharing with the other kids. She then says “OP you need to share with the other kids because you ate enough for today”. When the other kids heard I had candy they all ran up begging for candy. When I tried to explain to EM the candy is mainly for my brother she accused me of lying and said I had to share. The kids ran to my bag and excited for candy and EM took the candy from my bag and shared it between all the kids. After give the kids hand fills of candy she gave me and Ashley three pieces each for being “greedy”.
The only thing that kept me looking forward to this day was going to pick up ice cream at a ice cream shop. As soon as we got close though EM said we don’t deserve ice cream and said we will get some at her house. As soon as we get there we got mini otter pops. Ashley declined because she wanted ice cream and went home to get some from her house. Everyone else shockingly enough including me got and otter pop. Only half though because we didn’t deserve a full otter pop. (It was also the mini otter pop’s). I went home disappointed but didn’t tell my parents for fear of getting in trouble for the food I ate.

Girl grows up thinking she basically is living in colonial Williamsburg, I think one of her siblings gets smallpox or something and she somehow realizes she's living in a simulated community where people live entirely in the past era. Her parents know and consented but the children are completely unaware. She managed to sneak out of the colony/community whatever and is trying to report them or get medical help for her sibling. I remember being read the book in around 2004. Some details maybe be wrong.

I thought this would be a fun post as my school year winds down and as we move further away from season 46!
So I admittedly became of a fan of survivor just early this year. My wife and I love competition reality shows and I was going through cancer treatment at the time so we figured...lets give it a shot. I loved it and we are currently binging every season, even my kids are getting into it.
So I teach a 7th grade leadership class and decided to make a Survivor unit. I split a class of 12 into two tribes and worked our way to 7 and "merged".
I hid idols in the core classes and kids were only able to look for them before classes. The kids that were voted out each week continued to compete on "exile island" and were able to give advantages to those still in the game and then compete themselves to get back in.
I wasn't sure how this would go but it was really great. It was awesome to see kids that usually wouldn't put themselves out there be the deciding factor in their tribes immunity wins. Kids that probably have never won anything in their lives being celebrated for completing a puzzle to win.
It was awesome to see how kids saw the game, created alliances, turned on each other, and generally had some great play! The winner was a quiet girl who hardly spoke but made an alliance with 2 others. The class only had 4 girls and the boys sort of targeted them early but she went under the radar. She skated by until the top 7 and had two really great idol plays to get out great players, and won some individual immunities.
I made the final 3 present to the class why they should win the game and they did an excellent job! I fully suspected the boys to not vote for the winner (girl) because they are 7th grade boys...(haha), but...she impressed some of them and they flipped (She won 5-3-1). It was really cool experience and to see the look on her face was priceless! Her reward was not taking the final test and I'm going to create a champions board in my class for the future.

2024.06.04 19:35 Trick_Equal2948 My son in elementary has ADHD/ADD and he is extremely intelligent. He does both 5th grade and 6th grade homework and lessons and finishes it all before class ends. Should I put him in 7th grade or let him do school normally?
As it says on top my son is extremely smart and he constantly likes to research stuff and he always does his work at school. He gets good grades and right now he has a plan with his school due to his ADHD/ADD (I always mix those up on which one he has) but it was always the same. He finishes early so his teacher would give him a bit of work from the higher grade level. I want to put him in 7th grade because he always says "I'm bored in school, I finish all my work quickly, get it right and sometimes fix it up when he gets a couple questions wrong" what should I do? One thing I am concerned about is how older kids will treat him, he gets along with older kids but I feel like he will be the equivalent to a "Young Sheldon" (ifykyk). Please If you have any advice let me know, I would greatly appreciate it...

The finale 6 see in secret a finale 4 with Chuck decide to crete his alliance named the birds ties. mangaed to blinside Monica and Book. The girls of the alliance decide to left but Chuck suceed to complete the goal making finale 4 and decide step by step who he elimnate making kazzoie and GJ to be the finale jurors. The finalist made their cas Chuck stay imple he domiate the game making his name alredy in check by elimnate the best players when Yelan was less arrogant and said she stay loyal to the main allianc euntil te end and was a nice game with a gret finale since both finalist have win the most challngen. at the end Yelan nicest speech work for her and won the game by a 6-3 votes.

2024.06.04 19:34 Unalivem I survived jumping off a bridge
I am 16 and have been struggling with suicidal thoughts since I was 11. A week or a bit more before I jumped I experienced a massive drop in my already horrible mental health. I felt horrible. I can’t explain it it was like this pit in my stomach, horrible despair. I was also obsessed with suicide.
I got hospitalised again after slitting my tendon. I was extremely depressed in the hospital. I eventually planned to escape the hospital (it wasn’t very hard) and for some reason I told some people who were talking to me, I wasn’t even sure I was going to do it and at that point it was more of a joke to me so maybe that’s why.
Anyways I escaped and left the 12 year old girl who heard I was going to escape blaming herself cause she didn’t tell anyone so yeah I fucked up and hurt people. I lived near the hospital and knew a bridge near there. It was 20 meters tall and right next to my house so I knew how to get there. I walked to the bridge in my socks cause I threw off my flip flops so I could run from the nurses. I was on autopilot the entire time just thinking that I have to jump off the bridge otherwise I will be in trouble.
I got to the bridge and went over the railing and immediately pushed myself with my hands and fell. The last thing I remember is me screaming and seeing the trees the were next to the bridge as I was falling but it’s just an image. I traumatised the two people who saw me jump and possible the paramedics. And I hate myself for it so much.
I was then in artificial sleep for 5 days. I had broken my pelvis, my left femur, my left calf and knee, my heels were kind of crushed, I also broke four ribs and my humerus. My other arm was damaged but not broken. My hands weren’t very mobile and my legs weren’t too. I was in an intensive ward for 10 days.
I actually felt very happy about surviving and this has not changed since even though I had a lot of moments where I wished I had died. The first two weeks I was in a sort of euphoria where I was extremely happy and told everyone how much I loved them. After that I got transferred to the surgery ward where they keep like injuries. I had more surgeries, 6 in total. My left heel is the worst problem. It’s very damaged and probably won’t recover fully.
I was extremely pro suicide before the jump and even believed people who didn’t want to die were delusional, now I would discourage anyone from suicide. I feel sick at the thought that I could have died. I have hurt so many people and I hate myself for it.
Suicide affects everyone involved. That’s one of the main reasons I don’t want to die anymore. Cause I can’t cause any more pain then the one I’ve already caused. I am also terrified of death now. You truly don’t know what happens afterwards. In life after life which is a book about near death experience most people describe it as a pleasant experience but suicide survivors report it being extremely unpleasant.

So basically, i have this english lesson, and i'm literally going insane because i'm not learning anything. I tell them that by every day i go here and not learning a single thing, watching all others improve, i get more and more aggressive, and that will stack and grow until i go home and plan to stab you. Teachers then report me to socialen for quote "saying he is going to go home and plan to stab us 50 times in the throat." They completely derived my message and then legal reported me for death threats, even though it was a genuine concern i have and not a death threat.
I'm 14 so not punishable, but i'll have to believe with all my might these people working in the town hall don't decide to believe my unbelievably grudge holding teachers that derive my quotes, or the desperate 14 year old that barely knows law with bad grades.

Hey all! I'm new to mass spec and I'm currently running on a TSQ Fortis. I have questions about the report templates/editing reports. Anyone have experience with Chromeleon (and also the TSQ Fortis, as I have questions about that too).
EDIT: specific question is that when I generate the report, it will include the summary of peak areas etc for all injections, then a page with the calibration curve, then the compounds integrations - and it provides that for every injection. Repeats the summary and the calibration curve. I'd like to set the report up to generate a summary of all injection values, then the calibration curve, then the compound integrations. The report as is ends up being several hundred pages, when it doesn't have to repeat 4-6 pages of calibration and summary for every single injection.

My host cancelled my booking telling me that their apartment was flooded and they are not able to fix it before my booking. I said that I understood and went directly to Airbnb to help with me resolving it. They said that I must rebook the place to somewhere else but all the places are at least 150usd higher than when I was booking the previous one (which was few months ago). They gave me 25usd coupon and well... it's something but I still feel that the responsibility was placed on me to book a more expensive place. But what is more that the cancelled place is now available again (a day later) for a higher price. Is this a common thing to do? I just... don't know what to say. Of course I've reported it and I guess that's all I could do...

I have a few in mind, but I‘d like to hear your opinion and if you think these jobs are suitable for me. For context: I am 14F and live in Austria. My report card consists of A‘s only, and I am planning to attend a high school of general education next year. My interests are cooking, baking, doing sports (like archery, swimming, running, and rock climbing), fixing cars, or just everything mechanical in general. Here‘s the list of jobs I already have in mind:
•Diplomat. I‘d like to help make the world a better place. I am interested in politics, and it would be interesting for me to take part in international affairs. I know that I‘ll have to move like every 3–4 years, but I think that’s kind of cool. I am also good with languages (I can speak German, English, and a bit of Italian), so it wouldn’t be a big problem for me to learn new languages.
•Caterer. As I already mentioned, I like cooking and baking. I am also good at organizing, so I think that it would be a good job for me. I have also cooked and baked for school events before, and the people there really liked my food.
•Product Designer. I like art and crafts, but I am not especially good at them. I still like thinking up new designs for Packagin products. I‘m also good at doing PowerPoints, and I think that would be helpful as a product designer because I tend to get really creative when doing a PowerPoint.
Firefighter. I am quite brave, and I‘d like to help people in need. I am also able to stay calm during stressful situations. I am okay with 24h/48h shifts, and I am not afraid of heights. By the way, I‘d like to be a firefighter in the US.

I recently attempted to discharge a 5th grade student from speech services. I saw this student for articulation and they have met their speech goals (s and z). Before attempting to dismiss her, I spoke to all her teachers to see if they had concerns, none did. In my district dismissal is based on whether a student had met their goals. At the student’s reevaluation meeting mom pulled out an evaluation from a local speech and hearing clinic diagnosing this child with CAPD, a severe phonological disorder, and mild expressive/ receptive disorder. The meeting was tabled to give me time to review the evaluation and tomorrow is the new meeting. I am at a complete loss, I do not see any of the behaviors or issues listed in the report. My coworker says stick to my opinion if she is receiving outside services, does she really need to be pulled out of class, especially if the student is doing average academically? The committee wants me to keep the student and not rock the boat. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?

Hi reddit. I really need help, and I don't know what else to do. My graduation is tomorrow, and my parents just got a call from my teacher saying I haven't completed these dumbass community service hours. I seriously don't understand why we have to do them anyway. We had to do 10 hours in 7th grade and 10 hours in 8th grade. I already did last year's hours; I didn't do this year's hours because the teacher confused me and never let me ask questions. I understand that I should have done the hours, but I already had a lot on my plate. I've been experiencing a lot of burnout, and I'm trying to put mental health first. A lot of other personal things have happened too. Without these hours, I can't graduate. The teacher told me I already had 4 hours accounted for and that I needed 6; that's it. Then he said that the hours I spend in school do not count. (Literally, in 7th grade, all the hours I completed were in school.) I got confused and tried to ask questions, but he just looked at me like he was mad and said something along the lines of, "I guess you weren't paying attention to me then? 😐 I WAS PAYING ATTENTION. I just didn't understand what he told me.
I'm shaking right now, and I'm terrified that I'll have to repeat 8th grade. I'm a straight-A student who's on the honor roll and has won many academic awards.

I'm going through a rough phase in life where I'm struggling to take care of things at home due to my mother's illness and unemployment. I'm pursuing BCA from IGNOU. I've been giving tuitions to the kids upto grade 5 and tailor ladies suits with my mother and do some event work to support my education, house responsibilities and my mother's diabetes treatment but recently my mother's health deteriorated a lot. She was having pain in right side kidney and was constantly having stomach aches, vomiting, bloating and diarrhea.
Upon further investigation, it was found she had 2 15mm gallstones, along with some small stones. I can share the hospitals MRCP test report. The doctor has advised for an open cholecystectomy surgery for the removal of gallbladder, but as a single female child, I can't afford to pay for the surgery. I've already tried in the government hospital but due to large influx of patients awaiting this surgery there is a wait time for around 6-12 months. I can't see my mother suffering this longer.
Therefore, I'm reaching out to this community for some online work which I can do from home currently to provide for my mother's surgery expenses. I have a Oppo F9 pro which I'm trying to sell to get a laptop but not getting the fair value for it. But I'm trying. So, please, I request the kind members of this sub to provide some guidance on how to navigate through this phase.
