The slow adoption of B2B in the mobile application development process is due to the small size of the B2B market. It requires better communication and robust sales, which is still difficult. If you do the rowboats in Central Park, there are several spots where you can discreetly finger a person in the rowboat and nobody will see you.
Book a day at any of the Korean Saunas, Sojo Spa Club or Spa Castle are classics. Aire ancient Baths if you really want to impress.
Get a sketchbook and some pencils and take the Staten Island Ferry (it is free), Draw the Statue of Liberty and the NY harbor. This is a cheaper, unique option.
Our guide to date ideas in NYC that won't break the bank (or bore you to tears)!
Let’s be real for a sec, here. Finding date ideas in NYC is pretty easy. After all, this is the city that never sleeps! The bad news? Finding good date ideas in NYC is going to be a lot harder.
If you really want to impress that special someone, you’ve gotta get a little creative, think outside of the box. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with dinner or a movie, but if you want to smash this date outta the park (and hey, why did you ask them out if you don’t want to do that?) you’ll need some cute, fun and romantic date ideas in NYC that you haven’t tried before.
So whether it’s money, a lack of creativity or something else that’s stopping you from having incredible dates in New York, keep reading to find 20+ date ideas in NYC that won’t remind you of your ex (or break the bank).
Read on to find out the best date ideas in NYC, as chosen by us!
And just so you know - we’re not paid by anybody to include these on our list. They’re just places we’ve been or experiences we’ve loved that you can use for great date ideas in New York.

The Best Date Ideas NYC

Of course you’re in a hurry, this is New York! Here are our best date ideas in NYC to get you started…

GO ON A ROMANTIC SCAVENGER HUNT THROUGH NYC

Whether you and your future (or current) soulmate are born and bred New Yorkers or you’re just visiting the city, we can guarantee you that you’ve never tried anything like this before.
You and your date will receive clues, puzzles and riddles to your phone that you need to work out together to take you on a romantic adventure through the city.
Don’t worry - there’s no goofy or cringe stops included. Just a whole lot of interesting places, an opportunity for teamwork and to get to know each other doing a fun but cute activity that will ignite a romantic spark between you…
BONUS: These scavenger hunts come with cafe and bar recommendations included, so you can suggest taking a cute recess somewhere cozy without any research!

WATCH AN INDIE MOVIE AT MOMA

Yeah, you read the title correctly.
Did you know that one of New York’s most iconic museums houses three in-house theaters? As you might expect, this isn’t the place to go see the latest Marvel movie or even anything you’ve seen the shorts for online.
This is where to go if you know your date is into Indie documentaries, foreign language movies or niche subjects like obscure 20th century cartoons. The awesome thing about this is that showings are limited and the range is phenomenal, so you’re sure to find something interesting to see together!

VISIT THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH

Somehow, apocalypse movies always seem to involve romance, but lucky for you, this NYC date idea has nothing to do with impending doom (despite its title).
The Last Place on Earth is actually an awesome board game cafe located in Greenpoint, on Graham Avenue that gives you and your SO a chance to battle-it-out in a cozy, adorable environment.
Whether you’re both gamers or total noobs, this is a cute place to get to know each other if this is your first date, or a place to remind your partner why you always play player 1!
PSST: This place also has an incredible variety of teas (we’re talking 27 if you include the iced teas!).

SOLVE A MURDER MYSTERY IN MANHATTAN

Sure, this idea is a little out of the box…but you wanna impress your date, right?
Instead of becoming partners in crime, become partners in solving crime.
Ideal for true crime lovers and players of Among Us, The Devil in Chelsea provides a head-scratching mystery that will bring the pair of you closer together as you try to solve a mystery in real time, right on the banks of the Hudson.
Combine your powers of deduction with your partner’s eagle-eye for detail (or vice versa) and get solving today! This murder mystery-style game also comes with optional embedded breaks at cafes and bars, so there’s plenty of time to stare lovingly into your sweetheart’s eyes while showing them how great you are at problem-solving…

TAKE A PICNIC TO CENTRAL OR COLUMBUS PARK

You don’t have to be a New Yorker to know that during most hours of the day, Central Park is full of couples. It's one of the most iconic places in the city, which in New York is really saying something.
But if you want to mix it up by exploring one of New York’s lesser-known green spaces, I'd personally recommend Columbus Park as one of the best candidates.
First, it’s a peaceful (well, as peaceful as New York gets) oasis that has plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate you and your partner. Secondly, Columbus park is popular with the Asian-American community (it's right next-door to Chinatown), many of whom enjoy a game of Mahjong - you don’t have to join in but if you think your partner’s up to a match, give it a try!

TRY AN OUTDOOR ESCAPE ROOM TOGETHER

You probably don’t need me to remind you that locking someone up with you on a first date is creepy, but just in case, consider this a warning. Especially if you’re looking for first date ideas in NYC.
Instead, invite your date along to play an outdoor escape room together through an NY neighborhood of your choice! This keeps the atmosphere light and friendly, you’ll never be stuck for conversation topics and there’s nothing like a little learning together to get closer to your date…

BRING YOUR PUPS TO WALT WHITMAN PARK

What could be more romantic than a stroll around a park dedicated to a poet?
If you have a dog or know your lover is crazy about canines, consider a trip to Walt Whitman Park in Brooklyn. You probably remember Whitman from your high school years - if you don’t, no biggie, Google will “refresh” your memory - and there’s nothing like poetry to get your heart thumping a little faster.
This park is super popular with New York dog walkers, so it’s the perfect place to bring your four-legged friends if you have any. If you don’t, you can always enjoy a walk around the fountain and read the poetry laid out in front of you anyways.

SCOPE OUT THE SUNSET AT LITTLE BAY BRIDGE PIER

Ok, let’s get this out of the way early: sunset is a big deal in New York City, date or not.
Whether you’re in a skyscraper or on the ground, you’ll quickly realize this is prime date time and because of this, everywhere gets pretty crowded.
Little Bay Bridge Pier is a little out of the city (Queens) and requires a bumpy walk to get there, but it’s worth the effort once the sun comes down. Expect gorgeous views and a nice, wholesome place to enjoy nature’s beauty together.
PSST: This is New York, so there’s a small possibility that you might stumble upon a rat or two here. You also have to walk across uneven rocks to reach the end of the pier, so tell your date to wear comfortable shoes (heels are an absolute no-go).

Fun Date Ideas in NYC

Loosen up and have a ball - here are some fun date ideas in NYC that don’t involve boring, awkward pauses…

EXPERIENCE DRUNK SHAKESPEARE

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore didn’t you suggest Drunk Shakespeare for our date?
If you’re looking for date ideas in NYC that show your romantic and humorous side, opt for Drunk Shakespeare. What is it? A professional actor gets loaded up with five whiskey shots before trying to recite lines from a Shakespeare play. In other words, it’s awesome.

GO ON A SELF-GUIDED NYC WALKING TOUR

Walking tours are awesome for opening your eyes to the history and culture of a place, but it can be a little awkward to persuade someone you barely know to join a bunch of strangers for the adventure.
Luckily, you don’t have to. Self-guided walking tours like these have no guide and allow you and your date to explore at your own pace. If you’re a competitive pair, race against the clock to top the NYC leaderboard. Otherwise, take your time exploring the city, learning together, and enjoying a romantic stroll through historic streets…

LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE AT BROADWAY COMEDY CLUB

For date ideas in NYC that take the pressure off, give Broadway Comedy Club a try.
What better way to learn about your date than finding out what makes them laugh? Allow comedians to do the hard work for you as you enjoy a night of comedy in Midtown Manhattan!
This venue has a minimum two drink per person order (standard for New York comedy clubs) but drink prices aren’t extortionate (a Long Island iced tea is a mere 10 bucks!).

SNAP UP SOME BARGAINS AT A FLEA MARKET

New York isn’t the cheapest city in the world to try to win over a date, but difficult-to-find isn’t the same as impossible…
Challenge your date to a flea market bargain hunt at one of New York’s many flea markets. Shop around to find one that your date will like - some have cool antique photos, others specialize in furniture or jewelry, etc - and set a budget you both have to stick to.
When you’re done, head to a cozy cafe and talk over your finds! There’s no shortage of weird memorabilia in the city and you’re sure to leave the date with at least one funny story…

PLAY MINI GOLF AT PIER 25

When you’re stuck for date ideas in NYC, you can always rely on a classic.
An ideal choice for first date ideas in NYC or a relaxed activity for couples who’ve been together a long time, mini golf is the perfect way to lose a few hours to some innocent fun.
Hudson River Park in Tribeca is home to an incredible 18-hole miniature golf course that has gorgeous views of the city skyline (we won’t judge you for taking a cute couple selfie here).

SIP SOME DRINKS AT ROOFTOP REDS

If your partner isn’t a New Yorker or you’re both visiting The Big Apple together for the first time, head to Rooftop Reds.
Although it looks like any old rooftop bar, Rooftop Reds is actually a winery with a “world-first” attached to it. Opened in 2016, Rooftop Reds became the global first commercially-viable rooftop vineyard.
Since then, wine-lovers have been sipping on their favorite adult grape juice with impeccable views of the city, surrounded by the wonders and curiosities that only Brooklyn can provide…

PLAY A GAME OF SHUFFLEBOARD AT ROYAL PALMS

Never played a game of shuffleboard before? Prepare to find your next obsession.
Playing shuffleboard at Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Brooklyn stands out as a unique and memorable NYC date idea, thanks to the novelty of the game in New York City.
If you’re useless at sports, don’t worry: it's an easy-to-learn activity, making it accessible and enjoyable even for beginners like me! The venue also offers an array of drinks and there are numerous food trucks selling incredible food, so there are plenty of options if you want to indulge in tasty treats and cocktails as you play.
Lastly, this is an awesome activity for group dates since it adds a social dimension - it doesn’t matter who’s good or bad at the game, just that you’re having a good time!

Cheap But Cute Date Ideas in NYC

Wanna show your SO your cute side? Here are some cute date ideas in NYC that won’t break the bank…

VISIT JEFFERSON MARKET LIBRARY IN GREENWICH

Nestled in a stunning Victorian Gothic building, this historic site offers a tranquil and intimate setting, ideal for couples seeking a quiet, intellectual experience.
The library, with its serene reading rooms and a diverse collection of books, provides a perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and even cultural experiences. Adjacent to the library is the beautiful Jefferson Market Garden, a picturesque spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxed chat amidst blooming flowers.
This NYC date idea is not only culturally enriching and visually appealing but also budget-friendly, as there's no cost to visit the library. It's a unique choice that blends culture, history, and the charm of one of New York's most enchanting neighborhoods.

GET REFLECTIVE AT THE NICHOLAS ROERICH MUSEUM

Discover a hidden gem in New York City with a date at the Nicholas Roerich Museum!
Nestled in a charming Upper West Side townhouse, this intimate museum showcases the mystical art of Nicholas Roerich, offering a serene and reflective ambiance. Dive into a world of spiritual and cultural richness, free of charge, as you explore Roerich's captivating paintings and philosophies…
Afterward, extend your date with a romantic stroll through the picturesque streets or Riverside Park nearby. Perfect for art lovers and those seeking a tranquil, culturally enriching experience, this museum promises a uniquely memorable and affordable date in the heart of Manhattan.

GET GOURMET AT GOTTSCHEER HALL IN QUEENS

Sure, most dinner date venues are fairly standard and unlikely to surprise your partner into falling head over heels with you - but I make an exception for Gottscheer Hall.
Gottscheer Hall is a hidden gem in Ridgewood, Queens. This historic beer hall, with its roots in the Gottscheer community, offers an authentic taste of Central European culture in New York City. Imagine stepping into a space that feels like a cozy, old-world tavern, where you can indulge in delicious Eastern European cuisine and a wide selection of beers.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere, often complemented by live music or cultural events, makes it perfect for a relaxed, yet engaging date. Whether you're clinking beer steins, savoring hearty dishes, or swaying to folk tunes, Gottscheer Hall promises an experience that's not just a meal, but a delightful cultural journey.

BRING A PACK OF CARDS TO ST NICHOLAS PARK IN HARLEM

Am I seriously suggesting you bring a pack of cards with you to Harlem to impress your date? Yes I am!
This scenic park, nestled in the heart of Harlem, offers a beautiful backdrop of lush greenery and historic city views, perfect for a laid-back, intimate outdoor date. By bringing along a pack of cards, you instantly eliminate any awkward conversation starters and you can get as creative as you like with the games (build a tower, play go fish, whatever floats your boat).
Find a cozy spot under the trees or by the historic Hamilton Grange and let the relaxed atmosphere of the park ease you into conversation and playful competition, fostering a casual yet personal connection between you two human lovebirds.

GET ARTSY AT THE MET

If you’re looking for date ideas in NYC that are sophisticated, intelligent and interesting, you can’t go wrong with the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York City.
This enchanting experience combines culture, history, and romance and is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with your SO. As one of the world's largest and most diverse art museums, The Met offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore a vast array of art from various periods and cultures, making every visit a new adventure. Whether strolling hand-in-hand through ancient Egyptian artifacts, admiring Impressionist paintings, or exploring contemporary exhibits, the museum's grandeur and beauty provide a perfect backdrop for deepening connections and sparking conversations.
After exploring the galleries, you can enjoy a coffee or a meal at one of the museum's elegant cafes, or take a romantic walk in Central Park, which is just steps away.

2024.06.05 06:05 aceonhand 1 Simple Trick ANY Handyman Business Can Start Using Today To Attract More Clients Faster Guaranteed!

1 Simple Trick ANY Handyman Business Can Start Using Today To Attract More Clients Faster Guaranteed!
This has been a secret of mine for years. I've only shared it with friends and family so they can use it in their service based businesses.
It's something some do but hardly anyone does it in a way that effectively brings in clients for as long as your in business.
What am I talking about?
Images/pictures!
(A Sample Image From My Portfolio)
Have you ever heard of the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. It's true! For us service providers a picture is worth a thousand dollars.
Let me explain…
When I started my handyman business back up a few years ago. I knew I had the experience but I had no way to prove it. I had learned from building previous online businesses that I had to build authority and trust in the market to start attracting attention.
One of the most powerful things any handyman business/local service provider can implement to begin establishing themselves as a preferred option against the competition is by displaying pictures of your projects/services.
It's really the only thing you have control of in every job you do. That you can leverage to get more jobs in the future. Every picture you have of the jobs you have completed. Will essentially be a salesman for you when done correctly.
I get calls for jobs because of Pictures I have online from years ago. Clients tell me all the time. They hired me because of my portfolio. It's the ultimate proof besides reviews.
Anyone can write on their website or platforms they are listed on. That they do this or that but it's just words. Like they say, talk is cheap.
Images play a crucial role in marketing and establishing a robust online presence. They are like mini case studies.
Here’s why they are extremely powerful:

Visual Proof of Work

  • Before-and-After Comparisons: Showing the transformation of a project from start to finish provides tangible proof of the quality and effectiveness of your work. Potential clients can see the real impact you make.
  • Detailed Close-Ups: Highlighting specific details and craftsmanship builds trust in your skills. Close-up shots of intricate work, such as precise tiling or seamless carpentry, demonstrate your attention to detail.

Credibility and Trust

  • Authenticity: High-quality, authentic images of your work give potential clients confidence that your services are reliable. They see real examples of what you can do rather than relying on generic stock photos or descriptions.
  • Client Testimonials with Images: Combining client testimonials with images of the projects you completed for them strengthens credibility. Visual evidence paired with positive reviews reinforces trust.

Authority and Expertise

  • Showcasing Range of Skills: Posting images of various projects, from plumbing and electrical work to carpentry and painting, showcases your versatility and expertise across different domains. This positions you as a knowledgeable authority in the handyman field.
  • Educational Content: Sharing step-by-step images or tutorials on how you handle specific repairs or installations educates your audience and demonstrates your expertise. This not only helps clients appreciate the complexity of your work but also positions you as a helpful resource.

Market Influence

  • Social Proof: Images of completed projects with satisfied clients help build social proof. When potential clients see others benefitting from your services, they are more likely to trust and hire you.
  • Engagement: Visually engaging content attracts more attention and interaction on social media platforms. Posts with images are more likely to be shared, liked, and commented on, increasing your reach and visibility.

Differentiation and Branding

  • Unique Portfolio: A portfolio filled with high-quality images of diverse projects sets you apart from competitors who may rely solely on text descriptions. It provides a unique visual representation of your brand.
  • Consistency: Consistently posting images helps establish a recognizable brand aesthetic. Whether it’s a specific style of photography, branded watermarks, or consistent project documentation, a cohesive visual strategy makes your brand memorable.

Practical Tips for Implementation

  1. High-Quality Photography: Invest in good photography equipment or hire a professional photographer to ensure your images are high quality and visually appealing.
  2. Consistent Updates: Regularly update your online platforms with new images to keep your portfolio current and demonstrate ongoing activity.
  3. Engage with Audience: Encourage clients to share their own photos of your completed projects and tag your business. User-generated content can significantly boost your credibility and reach.
  4. Storytelling: Use images to tell a story about each project. Explain the challenges, the solutions you implemented, and the final outcomes. This narrative approach adds depth and interest to your visual content.
By leveraging the power of images, you not only provide proof and credibility but also build authority and influence in the market. This helps you stand out in a competitive field, attract more clients, and grow your handyman business effectively.
I personally like to use an app called Collage maker. Its free to use and you can download it on your phone. The sample image on this post was created on it but it really doesn't matter where its created as long as its implemented in your business.
If you really want to stand out you can break down images/projects into categories. For example, the image up top falls under plumbing category followed by sub-category water filtration systems installations portfolio. I like to go even deeper adding location for relevance and brand names for specifics.
This visual case study provides proof, credibility, trust, authority and expertise for any clients looking for handyman plumbing services/water filtration installations in Orlando, FL. If they are located in the neighborhood of college park and its a SleepWell system. I can almost guarantee if the client finds your service. You will be getting a phone call.
Apply this strategy to ANY platform your business/services are listed on because the compounding effects are extremely powerful.
I hope it benefits you like its benefitted me and my family/friends.
Have an exceptionally productive day, filled with perfectly cut wood and not a single misplaced screw!

2024.06.05 05:43 Brave_Sorbet1001 You can do it! Here’s some hard-earned advice

I have been at the worst this phobia can leave you, so believe me when I say I really do understand how frustrating it is, down to every little thing that could cause a twinge of panic!
Here's some stuff I learned as I have been nudging myself out of the worst of the phobia. I cannot attest to any method other than regular therapy and using internet resources because I don’t have access to treatment centers or specialists.
  1. One thing at a time. There is hope and it is absolutely possible to heal from emetophobia no matter how bad it may be now! Focus on stopping one reassurance habit, or one avoidance behavior, etc at a time. Make a list!
  2. For this phobia, recovery always comes with some relapses. Some days it may just take one small thing to cause heavy anxiety and it’ll feel like you’re back at square one. And that’s okay! Not all is lost. Panic will always pass, and when you experience it, try to be curious about the experience rather than fear it.
  3. There’s no time limit for vomiting occurrences. This still drives me crazy sometimes, because the longer I go without being sick, the closer it feels like it’s coming. This is just your mind playing a trick on you to keep you from realizing not everything is a danger. Work on acceptance and practicing gratitude to help with this.
  4. Familiarize yourself with your phobia. We often avoid observing our behaviors or feel great shame towards them. Write down a description of your phobia as detailed as you can, traumatic occurrences relating to it, medicines you take when you feel nauseous- ANYTHING pertaining to it. What goes through your head when feeling nauseous? Then, recite this to yourself in the mirror often, imagining you’re telling someone else. Record yourself talking about it in detail and then listen to it. It helps you to look at it objectively, and the more you read aloud past incidents (please be mindful of your headspace!) the less impactful it will feel.
  5. “Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldn’t happen.” and "He who has a why can suffer almost any how." These two quotes get me through the rough days.
  6. Talk to someone! this was extremely hard for me. I still haven’t told my therapist how bad it really is but they do know I have emetophobia. But they're here to lend an ear and help you!
  7. Humor. Find something entertaining about the phobia if it's really upsetting you. The goal is to take it less seriously.
  8. Understand your disgust and discomfort intolerances: this is often the unseen culprit behind a lot of emetophobia problems. for example, one of my constant fears is getting sick at work. Something about the thought of feeling really terrible in front of people or anywhere not at home multiplies my discomfort exponentially- but this can be addressed through exposure and imagining yourself going through that experience in detail and being okay after.
  9. Slow down and unplug a little. This goes with discomfort intolerance. If you aren't careful, a phone can becomes a pacifier rather than something to empower you. Being able to sit in the moment with yourself strengthens that spiritual muscle you need to get through difficult situations, like being in public when you're feeling crappy or dealing with nausea.
  10. Live authentically. Being honest about your struggles invites empathy into your life, and helps you connect with others over hardship. But whats more, the more of yourself you feel like you have to hide, the more your anxiety will hurt you.
  11. Take risks. Start small.
  12. Seriously, use the power of visualization! Find a quiet space and dedicate a good chunk of time to this method if you're anticipating anxiety. Research shows that imagining yourself doing something difficult uses the same part of your brain as when you actually do it! For example, if I stress about going into work, I'll take 15 minutes before bed to slowly think through the whole process of waking up, feeling nervous/nauseous, working out, getting ready, getting into my car, driving, walking into the building, and so on- it becomes a lot easier to deal with it that way. It also teaches your brain that its not something worth worrying about if you're willingly going through it mentally.
  13. Health: I am broke, have gvmnt healthcare, and live in a poor place. I know well that a clean bill of health is not always easy to come by, but it is worth investing your time and energy to get your checkups, bloodwork, dental cleanings, eye exams, etc. because you'll understand yourself better. Not to mention eating well and exercising helps so much with anxiety and helps you build immunity to the germs we may fear so much!
  14. Resources! While I did say to not take the phobia seriously, you should take recovery seriously! Build a toolkit for yourself. Here are some I've used:
Lastly, I just want to say this: emetophobia is not part of you and you can live so happily without it and without it returning. A common mentality I have seen is the fear that if we dare to be happy and live we'll be traumatized again, so it is better to stay comfortably uncomfortable and never try so as to not poke the sleeping bear. Well, that's silly and makes no sense. You deserve so much happiness and a life without this controlling you.
You CAN do it, and you can go at your own pace! You got this!

2024.06.05 05:38 ideationvocation Nets Culture Brainstorming

Hey community, Hope everyone is enjoying the offseason and a break from the stress that is our team. I wont lie the past season was pretty frustrating and I was here for the post jason kidd era/team gutting era. For quite some time its felt like some organic key elements has been missing from our team culture as a whole. So I went back and forth with Chatgpt and this is what it came back with. I welcome any and all critique:
“Title: Redefining Nets Culture: From Gentrification Mascots to Genuine Brooklyn Grit
What’s up GoNets,
Ever feel like our Nets are trying too hard with the whole cultural mascot thing? Biggie, Basquiat – it's cool and all, but kinda feels like they're just names slapped on to sell jerseys. We moved to Brooklyn in the middle of its gentrification and now we're leaning on these icons for street cred. But what if we could turn that around and build something real?
"Nothing Easy in Brooklyn" – That's the Real Talk Let’s own this. It’s not just about being tough on the court; it’s about being bold, creative disruptors like the borough itself. We need a team identity that’s not just about borrowing glory but making our own.
Underdog Spirit? Let’s Add Some Brooklyn Flair We’ve always been the shadow team in NY, and that's our edge. Why not mix that underdog attitude with the borough's raw, creative energy? Let’s see that creativity in our plays, our marketing, and how we engage with fans.
Reviving Player Development Remember when we were good at turning overlooked guys into stars? We need to get back to that, but make it about innovation on the court too, not just physical and technical growth. Let’s get back to being the team that redefines careers and changes how the game is played.
Community First Our community engagement needs a serious reboot. No more shallow attempts. Let's get involved in real, meaningful ways. Art collaborations, local music events, even art installations that celebrate both new and old Brooklyn.
Nothing Easy? Prove It This slogan should be our backbone. From the front office to the locker room to the stands, let it remind us that what we’re building here takes hard grit and real passion. This should be felt in every game, every event, every tweet.
Big Tent: Uniting Underdogs from Everywhere
The "Big Tent" idea isn't just a concept; it's about making the Nets a home for everyone who feels overlooked or undervalued—from the longtime Jersey fans to the new-age Brooklynites, and the international crowd tuning in from afar. We're more than a basketball team; we're a community hub that spans continents. Let's launch initiatives that bring diverse groups together, like international fan nights and multi-cultural community events, both online and at the Barclays. How about special broadcasts or viewing parties that celebrate the global naturene of our fanbase? This is our chance to create a universal bond under the Nets banner, turning our collective underdog mentality into our greatest strength. What are your thoughts on how we can make this happen?
Let’s talk about making this happen. How can we make these ideas stick and not just be another marketing phase? What do you all think would make these concepts click with the wider community and within the team?
Looking forward to hashing this out with you all. “

2024.06.05 05:22 KareBaer454 32 [F4R] Maine - Thicc ND Gamer Seeking Local Connections

Thanks for the interest. I'm a 32 y/o female with two partners currently, both male. I'm looking to make some more local connections. I'm open to chatting at distance, but not interested in more than friendship online, LDR and I don't mix.
I enjoy gaming, both board and video, reading and listening to music. Also enjoy most any build kit, putting stuff together makes my brain happy. I'm also a kinkster, a primal alpha sub.
I enjoy answering questions, I'm pretty much an open book as long as you're respectful. I'm not looking to have a purely sexual conversation, so please don't waste everyone's time just coming to me trying to ask my bra size.
I WFH full time, own my house alone and have three cats. Only my NP lives with me at this time. I have no kids or plans for kids. Please feel free to ask any questions or just start a conversation. I have no problem hearing from those just looking to talk to someone about poly or other things. Look forward to hearing from you!
Would also like to mention that I'm Neurodivergent, an AuDHD girlie. I'm about 5'8", on the thicker side, and am definitely more of an introvert, so if you're the hiking/biking/adventure type, I may not be a good fit for you. <3 Not looking for any LDR outside of friendship, I don't have the object permanence capabilities for it.

Sorry for all of the scripts I am dropping in such a short amount of time and flooding the sub; I’m having fun with it haha. A script concept that my fave vtuber (and best friend) CelineWhitetail requested!
Okay to monetize, okay to paywall (share with me), okay to gender swap, okay to edit if it is to make changes related to swapping of genders but nothing else (there is a line in there about dudes not being allowed in the women’s dressing room so, that might be a challenge to adapt).
If you like this and want to record it, please credit me as GulltheCactus on Reddit, Twitter, or Twitch!
Scriptbin link: https://scriptbin.works/s/84c4w
A longer NSFW version will be posted on the sister spicy sub and on my Scriptbin!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[mall ambience, sneakers on tile]
Okay, I still can’t believe you’ve never had a date at the mall. It’s like…a rite of passage in high school.
Yeah, I mean, you would go to the mall with your friends on a Friday night and all of the boys would go too and you would awkwardly flirt by teasing and playing hard to get in the food court until one couple got brave and dared to break away from the group and hold hands. Then the rest of the group would make fun of them while the guy would buy his new girlfriend stupid things from Hot Topic! Malls are perfect for dates!
I mean why not? There’s everything here. You can get a soft pretzel, boba tea, new shoes, and dodge around preteens at every turn, all without going back outside the comfort of slightly stale central air conditioning.
Haha, okay okay. It’s a little dorky. But it’ll be fun. Come on, hold my hand and buy me things I don’t need from Hot Topic, babe.
Really? I mean, that’s fair. I think I’ve been in Hot Topic like…once. And that was somewhere around…2007. Do you think they still sell anime t-shirts and like…those edgy little decorations that were shaped like boobs or dicks?
I swear to god, I am not making that up. It was scandalous to go into Hot Topic because you’d probably see a cartoon penis.
Ohhh, you’re right! That was Spencer’s! Yeah I guess they were both a little too edgy for highschool me. [lowers voice] I was a good girl then.
I don’t know, have you done anything to deserve me being good, huh? Hah, yeahhhhh, you are pretty alright, I guess.
[giggling and more mall chatter ambience]
Ooh, yeah, it smells amazing. I think it’s the Great Cookie upstairs? Or…does the Great Cookie exist anymore? It occurs to me now that I’m walking through this mall that I don’t think I’ve been here in literally 15 years so my mall intel might be severely out of date.
Well, where did you want to go? Start at this end and just go through the whole first floor?
…Well what did you have in mind?
Okay, I accept. But just know that I am gonna kick your ass. I can think of like five different stores that are already competing for the title of “freakiest merchandise,” so finding the weirdest purchase in this mall will be child’s play, babe.
Okay, okay. I still think I’m going to kick your ass, but it’s a deal. You pick the store I have to buy something from, and I pick your store. Winner gets…hmm, let’s let the winner decide for the extra stakes. Shake on it?
[a quick kissing noise from boyfriend]
Hah, you and your kisses won’t distract me. You’re looking at a woman who has never backed down from a challenge in her life. So do you want to go straight to our respective challenge stores or just make it a surprise?
Sounds good to me. We’ll delay your inevitable demise.
[walking along, mall ambience]
Awww, I loved this store when I was in high school and college!
Yeah, it’s like a slightly more expensive boutique, you know, jewelry, bags, scarves, etcetera. It looks like they have a few more dresses and things than they used to.
Nah, I don’t think it’s really my style anymore, I was preppier back then. But it’s a nice nostalgia moment.
What about you? I think they have a Games Workshop and there’s another little local DND and comics store just a few stores down.
Yeah, I think it’d be cool to check out! Do you have any physical dice? I know you pretty much always play online so…
Aww, that’s so cute! Do your siblings still have their sets too?
I love that. We mostly played board games, and usually only when we went over to my one cousin’s house.
No, I’ve never played it but everyone talks about how fun Catan is. We played like 90’s and oughts popular games. You know, Monopoly, Scattergories, Pictionary. Ooh, I loved Cranium, I destroyed at that game.
No, I don’t know what you mean. I am a perfectly well-adjusted and not at all overly competitive individual, thank you.
But yeah, I also wanted to try…the Hill House one?
Yes! Betrayal at the House on the Hill! That one! Everyone in my Friday DND group tells me it’s so fun and I’ve never had anyone in person to play it with.
Really? Yesssss! Okay come on it’s right here.
[distant greeting from an employee]
Hi! I’m great, how are you? We’re just looking right now, thanks!
Okay so the board games are over there—Ooh, look at those dice! Are those glass? They’re so pretty! And look, babe, they match this set. Oh and wait, look at these dice trays!
[sound of footsteps moving away]
[slightly more distant, talking to an employee] Yeah! I play on Roll20 and Foundry online, I’ve never had any physical dice…
[sound of your own footsteps, picking up a board game or two and pieces shift in the boxes]
[getting closer as she speaks] Hey babe, so those dice trays are made by a local guy—I got a business card for his Etsy too—and they’re two for $45–
[pause]
Haha, wait how did you have time to grab all of this stuff—Oh my god is that a Yuumi plushie?! She’s so cute, oh my god!
Aww, babe. You really were gonna hold my hand and buy me things. Okay, wait, new plan for this store. I saw things I wanted to get you, too, so let’s split up and then meet at the front of the store after we pay?
[peck on the cheek sound]
Okay, see you soon!
[more footsteps and shopping sounds, eventual beeping of the card reader as you pay]
[the crinkle of a plastic bags]
Hah, I’m smiling because I’m excited to show you what I got you! Come on, there’s a free bench over there.
Okay, so, I remember how much you said you liked this anime as a kid, and they had a section for model building so…Ta da!
Yeah! I remembered you loved the one that could change its armor and then as soon as I saw the blue version and the orange one I was like, yep, Liger Zero Schneider, that’s the one.
It was on sale!
…Like 15% off? Come on, you love it though, right?
See!
Yeah, and I love that. I’m so excited to play Betrayal at the House on the Hill and Catan. And that Yuumi plushie is going right on my desk.
Yeah? …Okay! But let me show you what I got us both first!
Here, this one’s for you, and this one’s mine! Aren’t they awesome? The guy does his own woodworking and staining and then his wife designs the fabric for the trays!
Haha yeah! See look, I got the one with the lilacs and daffodils and roses, and you’re the suns with the fun sunglasses!
Of course you’re the sunshine! You’re my sunshine.
Nope, you are.
We’re not arguing about this in public, we’re too disgusting, I refuse. This one is yours. And I got you these dice!
Look they have little quotes from famous literature all pasted on the inside.
Yeah, of course you do, it’s cause you’re such a nerd, babe.
[peck on the cheek]
You’re right, I do love it.
[dice clacking together]
Wait, aww! They’re so cute! The orange ones look like Amber, oh my god! I didn’t even see these cat dice!
Hah, sneaky sneaky. But yeah, that makes sense, I did see you go talk to the guy at the dice counter like instantly.
And then—
…What? It’s just one more thing, I promise! And it’s small!
See, look! It spins! And you can keep it on your keys, so anytime you need to make a choice and can’t decide, you can spin it and the d20 can decide for you.
Hah, yes, I do love you anyway, but the times when neither of us can come to a decision point make me want to cry sometimes.
Haha, love you!
…Okay? Why?
Wait, I didn’t know we were doing the bet yet. I thought I was supposed to pick your store.
Okay, okay. I’ll close my eyes, fine!
I’m scared, why is this box so heavy?
[horrified pause]…Oh my god—
Stop laughing! Oh my god, you did not—!
Why am I trying to hide it? [lowered voice] Maybe because I don’t want everyone in the entire mall to know I’m an anime degenerate, okay?
No, you did not win!
Yes, I am horrified because you probably just spent $400 on a statue of Sebastian from Black Butler, and no, the ridiculousness of the situation is not lost on me.
I mean, no, I don’t think I could buy you something worse than this.
…I don’t think it’s any of your business where exactly I am going to display this stupidly detailed figure of my anime husband in my room, okay? That’s private.
No you didn’t win.
No—
[a sigh] Okay, fine. I cannot think of something that would horrify you more than this purchase horrifies me.
No, I’m not going to say it.
Because you cheated. You used deeply held, embarrassing anime knowledge against me. Humph!
[peck on the cheek sound] I said it before and I’ll say it again, you will not distract me with your kisses.
Oh? And just what is my punishment for losing exactly?
[annoyed sound] You will use any excuse to allow yourself to buy me fancy clothes and things I don’t need, won’t you?
You’re ridiculous. [peck on the lips] Thank you, you don’t have to.
Hah! Okay, fair. So where exactly are you taking me to buy said clothes you want to [lowers voice flirtatiously] take back off of me?
Oh geez, babe. Nordstrom’s is so overpriced!
No, you didn’t win, you cheated! I am holding hands and following you under protest! I am gonna file an appeal with the Silly Couple Amateur Bets Commission.
Wait, hold on. Please don’t spend too much?
No.
No!
$200.
No way! $250.
I am being reasonable, you’re the one saying you want to buy me $5000 worth of clothes for no reason!
Yeah, a date to the mall. We’re supposed to go split a lemonade and a soft pretzel from Auntie Anne’s, not spend a down payment on a car.
[sigh] $1000.
[mock threatening] Fine. And if you spend a cent more—
[hushed, slightly embarrassed tone at saying this in public but still trying to be threatening] I won’t go down on you for a month!
[indignant] Yes I could!
[deadpan] I hate you.
Thank you. $1000 is already an insane amount to be spending.
Oh?
Okay, okay. I can get behind that. But I do get to veto clothes I really don’t think I will look good in.
Yeah, okay. Laying it on a little thick aren’t you, buddy?
Yeah, well, you’re handsome.
Okay, so the women’s clothes are on the next floor up I think.
[escalator noises]
Yeah, I got my prom dress at a Nordstrom’s, I went with a couple of my friends.
This might shock you, knowing what you know about me, but it was…green.
I know! I’m predictable. What can I say? Nature-loving bitch right here.
[stifled laughter] And I’m sure you looked stupidly handsome even in your pale blue suit.
Okay, so, where do we start…?
Hah, fine. But remember your limit.
Ooh, this is cute! And the blue lace would match that one tie I got you last year.
Yeah, it brings out the hazel flecks in your eyes.
Okay, wow. Yeah that is—Babe, that dress is $400!
Fine, fine, but I’m tallying! I’ve got my phone out, calculator right here!
But fine, what else did you want me to try on?
…To be honest, I’m sort of surprised you didn’t start at the lingerie and bathing suit section.
Ooh, look at that one! Do you think I’ll look dumb with all the straps? I’m just hoping it’ll make my boobs look good.
Yeah, of course you would say that, you’re down bad.
Haha, of course. [whisper] I’m down bad for you too.
[clicking of hangers against each other on the racks]
Hmm. What do you think about—
…Babe. That bikini is practically microscopic. I don’t think I can even try that on in the store.
Okay, okay, I’ll give it a shot.
Anything else you want to throw on the clothing pile?
You do realize that every new thing you add is probably another 5 minutes in the dressing room right?
Alright, alright. They have a five item limit so I guess you’re waiting your butt out here with the rest of it.
Yes, it is a cute butt. I’ll be back soon.
Yessss, I know. I will show you everything that fits.
[quiet department store chatter]
[squeak of a dressing room door and a hushed stage whisper] Babe, I cannot walk out there and show you this bathing suit.
[still a stage whisper] Because it’s tiny! Basically all you can see is my underwear.
Then come in here!
[the sound of the dressing room door creaking again] Tada?
Hah, okay, calm down. Sure, my boobs look great but—
[shutting and locking the door as footsteps approach]
[whisper] Shh!
Because you’re not allowed to be in the women’s dressing room.
[the sound of clicking hangers on a rack, footsteps coming closer, more clinking…and the footsteps walk away]
[quiet bursts of laughter for a long time] Okay, okay. That was close.
Oh?
Hah, yeah, considering I’m not letting you leave until I’ve finished changing and can be your lookout, I guess you really did win the bet. [flirty whisper] Enjoy your front row seat, babe.
[kissing sounds as the mall ambience outside fades out]
I am passionate about music and art, as you may be able to tell! 😄 I am classically trained and have been DJing and producing electronic music and performing in the local scene for a few years now. I love all sorts of genres and enjoy finding rare and obscure music, whether that be perusing online or in the local vinyl shop. I am really into vintage stuff like cameras, video games, and music electronics. I love video games and consider myself pretty nerdy as I like your typical nerd stuff like anime, movies, science, and tinkering with things. I create all sorts of art and am very crafty. I am also a huge animal and nature lover and enjoy spending time outside. I love hiking, hammocking, going on picnics, to the beach, or camping. I definitely am an outdoorsy person. I am also very spiritual and what you may call “witchy”. My other interests include mycology, anthropology, psychology, quantum physics, and mediumship. Yes, you read that right, I fire spin! 😄 I am a trained fire performer and regularly attend jams near my area so if you’re a social person who likes fire you may find me interesting ☺️
I am very sex positive and open minded! I lean towards an independent and liberal political mindset and am pro-Palestine, pro-abortion, pro-trans, pro-LGBTQIA+, and believe in the principles of transformative justice and resonate deeply with the structures of black feminist theory. These are non-negotiables for me. I am open to talking about these things more in extent when the time comes and if we hit it off :)
If you feel like we’d be a good pair and we’d vibe, feel free to send a DM. I request you eventually send pictures of yourself and verify age so I know you’re forreal! I am happy to send pics but you are free to check some out on my profile. Looking for mature adults willing to connect and be vulnerable. No ghosting, no scams, no weirdos, no nsfw pics. I will not respond to folks who send me unsolicited pictures or messages with no info about yourself! Please be respectful! I am looking for something intentional and serious. 2024.06.05 04:28 foodaussie 1 Week Solo in May - Trip Report
Hi all,
I got so much great assistance from this board so I wanted to give back to the community. I (34F) travelled to Japan solo in May with a week on the ground (9 days including travel) from Australia, so no jet lag. I packed in a lot - I have a family with young kids at home and this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so wanted to make the most of it. For those not travelling solo the itinerary is likely less realistic, but worked great for me. I spent approximately 400,000yen for the 7 days including flights and accommodation, and approximately 100,000 of that was on souvenirs and gifts. I walked at least 30,000 steps each day (with the exception of day 1 which was around 25k + a 17km bike ride).
I tried posting to JapanTravel first but it keeps getting rejected by bots!
Day 1 - Arrive 5:30am Haneda, Tokyo (Fri)
Day 2 - Tokyo (Sat)
Day 3 - Matsumoto, Kiso, Tsumago
Day 4 - Tsumago, Magome, Osaka
Day 5 - Kyoto in the rain
Day 6 - Kyoto
Day 7 - Kyoto, Inuyama
Day 8 - Chubu airport
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
2024.06.05 04:11 illya444 WITHDRAWAL Symptoms of NoFap. (What to do.)
If you do not have time to read this, or would like a video explanation for this article that will help you understand it better, here is the link:
https://youtu.be/68K0gzYXnlE?si=IE4tnlLjB6e1PT8h
Foreword
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for showing interest and trusting me enough to share the challenges that you are facing during this difficult journey. Before we dive in into answering the questions in regards to getting through the withdrawal symptoms, let’s dive into what is happening to your brain and body that is making it seem like you are going through these withdrawals in the first place, shall we? Let’s do this.
It All Starts in Your Brain
It is important to understand what is happening in your brain in order to explain why the withdrawal symptoms happen in the first place. We are going to briefly go through this explanation, yet if you would like a more in depth look in regards to this process, please watch this video FIRST, before continuing with this article. Here is the link:
https://youtu.be/ThiGc8ZyDew?si=gjS4_N5Vmwd4mW0A
Your brain has a REWARD and a PUNISHMENT system. One system is rewarding an individual when the individual is placing effort in areas of self-improvement (Going through school, getting a better job, going to the gym, eating healthy food, instilling a positive mindset, reading books, building a business, starting a blog, etc.) and also punishing individuals when those tasks are not done (cloudy thoughts, tiredness, fatigue, out of shape figure, low libido, lower levels of testosterone, no sex drive, in some cases loss of hair (due to the lower levels of testosterone, etc.)
How does this reward system work.
When an individual is indulging in healthy habits (listed earlier) your brain starts to release small amounts of dopamine, this dopamine chemical drives and motives the ACTION of self-improvement. Once the action has been COMPLETED, the brain then rewards the individual with the serotonin chemical which makes the individual feel “accomplished” or “fulfilled”. This whole process increases the individual’s confidence hence then this individual starts ATTRACTING other individuals and becomes “magnetic”. Hence naturally we want to be around and look up to people who are “positive” and have good, productive HABITS.
How pornography use hijacks the reward systems of your brain that drives reward and punishment.
What did a man have to do thousands of years ago to mate and reproduce an offspring with a woman who had large breasts, hips, butt, and had a pretty face? Well, that man had to BE someone, and in order for the individual to BE someone, they had to WORK on themselves first. For example: That man had to be strong enough in order to outlive and out survive other hunters, warriors, environmental challenges, etc. That man had to become a LEADER of a tribe that created an environment of safety and protection that would place that woman in an environment where she can be vulnerable for 9 months that it takes to go through the pregnancy period that leads to birth and not fucking die. (Does that make sense?)
Understanding that is crucial to understanding how adult content completely twists that process in your brain. Let’s take a look at what happens when an individual starts watching porn and how it leads to what you are experiencing now (keep reading, we are getting close.)
When a man starts watching porn, your brain (since it does not have eyes) thinks that you IMMEDIATELY became that LEADER, that MAN of MEN, that GOD walking amongst this earth. Since you have access to all these “hot”,”busty”,”prime” women that only the top of the top elite men has access to that have WORKED on themselves and BECAME those top elite men, now your brain perceives that you are now that and no longer need to be DRIVEN to do anything else, since it believes that you have already WON. (Does that make sense?)
Hence, now your brain is REWARDING you for being around all of these “prime” women, and not rewarding you for the PROCESS of becoming that man in order to be with those women in real life. How does your brain reward you in this instance? Your brain rewards you with a HUGE amount of dopamine when you are starting to indulge in the sexually explicit material, and because the dopamine chemical is responsible for the ACTION (remember what dopamine is responsible for instilling from earlier) you find yourself endlessly scrolling and going from page to page to page to page (sounds familiar)?
This process keeps going on and on and on until your brain is so overstimulated and is swimming in so much dopamine that you end up “releasing” or “relapsing” in this case. This repeated action over time leads to the brain starting to counteract this overstimulation by releasing enzymes that start to block and fortify your receptors in the brain from further damage and stimulation. Keep that in mind because this process ties into EVERYTHING that you are experiencing right now and is crucial to understand in order to answer your questions.
After years and perhaps decades of this repeated behavior, your brain is no longer able to RE-ABSORD the dopamine that is getting released during the indulgence in explicit material due to the fortification that it has built up in the billions upon billions of receptors that drive the behavior of confidence, fulfillment, motivation, drive, and achievement. This leads to the next step in the process of this abyss of misery. The individual then finds themselves not being interested in the content that they were indulging in, now they start seeking more erotic content, more extreme content to get the same “feeling” or “euphoria”. You find yourself watching more content that is more aggressive, more violent, more extreme (BDSM, Orgies, Trans, Gay, Shemale categories, etc.)
This cycle continues until your brain has built up so much defenses around itself to the point of where it starts shutting down your sexual organs (hence the occurrence of the porn induced erectile disfunction symptoms that is starting to be widely recognized today) that you no longer feel like human being anymore. You start thinking that you are not worthy of life, you start getting depressed, you start getting anxiety, and start avoiding other individuals (sound familiar?) Alright, we are getting closer, keep reading.
You will not find motive to conversate with other individuals thinking that something is wrong with you. Regular woman will be of no interest to you. Your dick will not work, hence the reference to the “flatline” term to describe this occurrence.
When you decide to stop this destructive habit. Your brain will start PUNISHING you for this since it now thinks that you have lowered your value/status (remember what it was thinking when you were “impregnating” all those “hot” women on the screen) and is not able to attract those women any longer. This is when you start feeling the symptoms of a “flatline” and withdrawal.
What and individual must do to reverse this destructive process and what causes the withdrawal symptoms to happen.
The FIRST step an individual MUST do in order start the process of recovery is getting rid of ANYTHING that overstimulates the reward system of your brain. That entails:
You must rid and abstain from ANYTHING that gives your brain an idea that it is now in a state of “reproduction.”
Turn on adult content blockers on your Internet browser, and search engines. On your personal computer as well as your PHONE.
You MUST get RID of anything that keeps your brain in this over stimulated sexualized state.
Over time, after about month 2-3 of COMPLETELY abstaining from such material, and it will be so hard, oh so difficult to do this. (This is where majority of men FAIL) You start experiencing body aches, mood swings, psychotic mental events, depression, absolutely no libido, etc. On top of all of that the absolute fortresses that your brain has built up around its dopamine receptors over decades do not allow any amount of dopamine to be absorbed if at all, leading to an even darker hole of misery. (Following me so far?)
At this moment is when an individual is starting to recognize that this is becoming a problem and start seeking solutions whether it be online, in person therapy sessions, doctor visits, etc. This is very crucial to recognize since when you realize that this is a problem, getting rid of it is going to be much, MUCH more difficult, and hence why this is going to be the most difficult journey that a man will go through perhaps even in their life. (Hence 95% of men fail, and do not go through this process.)
Alright, understanding this is what comes down to answering the questions in regards to how to get through the process of withdrawal.
What to do in order to get through the withdrawal process.
After getting rid of EVERYTHING that overstimulates the reward system in your brain (social media, links, magazines, tv series, movies, anything that makes you think of going back) your brain starts to chisel away at those fortified walls it has built up around itself. (Described in the Month 2-3 state in the “Gentlemen, holy shit” article) hence this being the crucial moment to stat instilling better habits during this time (start eating healthier foods, start reading books, start going to the gym, start going to dance classes, etc.) Since after about months 3-6 of abstaining from overstimulation your brain starts to reabsorb some of the dopamine that it REWARDS you with when you are instilling those BETTER HABITS. (Does that make sense?)
This results in the seeing the “light at the end of the tunnel” moments after months 3-6, since your brain is starting to re absorb some of the dopamine that it is rewarding you with due to you putting in the ACTION of improving yourself.
As your brain is starting to chisel away more and more of the fortifications, you will start feeling more driven, more inspired, more motivated to do things that before you had absolutely no motive to do. (Look at what I am doing now, I have never done this before.)
Your brain starts increasing testosterone production and releasing dopamine when you put effort into what is improving you.
When your body is increasing your testosterone and releases dopamine, your sexual drive starts flying through the roof. This causes other individuals to be ATTRACTED to you (whether its women, men, whatever you are into.) You NATURALY start attracting other individuals, you become more confident as a result of seeing other individuals be attracted to you.
What does that lead to? This leads to OTHER individuals RELEASING that sexual tension for you, and the whole process begins again.
Self-Improvement -> Confidence -> Sexual Tension -> Release by Other Individuals.
Now, what happens if you DON’T get other individuals to release that tension for you. Well, that is where WET DREAMS come into play.
What does it mean to experience a “Wet Dream”?
A wet dream is a term that describes your own body releasing the sexual pressure that builds up over time of self-improvement in a healthy desexualized brain when the individual does not attract another human being to do it for them.
This process happens when the individual is sleeping and going through the Rapid Eye Movement stage of sleep (also referred to as REM). This is usually the stage when an individual experiences vivid dreams. What happens during this stage of sleep when that individual has high sexual tension? (I am glad you asked.)
Your brain simulates a sexual experience through the process of dreaming. This is when you might see yourself with another individual engaging in sexual activity which results in what? You guessed it, sexual release.
Now, this release is perfectly natural and results in a HEALTHY amount of dopamine and serotonin production in your brain.
Does this make sense?
Conclusion
Alright, let’s go back to the questions and see if we have answered them:
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions in the best possible way I can. Please let me know if there are still some areas that perhaps I did not cover and I will sure to do my best to cover them in the next article/video.
2024.06.05 04:09 CrispyNuggins I never understood how artists might feel being "replaced" by AI, so why don't I try applying a similar scenario to something I can understand?
I should preface this by saying that the conclusion I reached in coming up with this analogy didn't change my opinion at all, so this exercise accomplished basically nothing for me lol. Feel free to let me know if I failed to note anything important or let me know what I might have been wrong about.
I've been a fan of generative AI since I first started playing with Dall E Mini in senior year high school. Of course back then everyone was just making funny images to show their buddies, but It was really fun. Over the next couple years, as it advanced further, I started to see images that genuinely impressed me. I've never been a person with a particular passion for art, but it was more the idea that impressive art could be made artificially that was very intriguing to me. That's why it's very dissatisfying to me to see the heavy discourse online about this subject, and the often uneducated arguments being thrown around on social media and such. Of course I'm aware that the advancement of GAI raises important concerns that need to be discussed, but its still aggravating to me. After all, I'm still just having fun lol.
Many artists feel that they are "stolen" from when images are scraped from publicly accessible sources on the internet for training. Despite the fact that their images are likely a tiny drop in the bucket of any given model's learning (if they're even included in training at all), this concern seems to be held by very many artists. I never understood that perspective personally, but I'm not an artist so it may not be fair for me judge their feelings. So I thought that I should try to come up with an analogy that might help me gain some perspective on how they might feel.
I really only have a couple meaningful creative outlets, but I think the most applicable for this purpose would be Minecraft building. I have been building in Minecraft for a few years now, and I like to think I've gotten pretty good at it. I think most would agree that Minecraft building is a valid creative process, at least for the purpose of this analogy.
Before I come up with the rules of this hypothetical, it is worth noting that this hypothetical is directed at the artists that aren't using art for income, and just object to AI art because its somehow evil to them. This has nothing to do with the concerns over money, that's an entirely seperate discussion.
So now let's say that there were an AI, that was trained to create a Minecraft build in the game based on a prompt written by the player. Also, this AI is trained entirely on Minecraft buildings that are posted publicly by players who were unaware that it could be used for this purpose. Given this rule, I'd be placing myself in a similar position as the artists who are concerned about their images being used, as its possible mine could be used for training without my knowledge. With these rules in place, I think we have a hypothetical that is very realistic, and very similar to the current discord related to art and GAI.
Now given the rules in this hypothetical scenario, what would my opinion of this AI be? After all it "stole" my creative work, and is enabling players with lesser skill to spawn buildings that sometimes look better than mine just by typing a few words! How can I accept this affront to humanity!? ITS UTTERLY OFFENSIVE! IT HAS NO SOUL!
Yeah I'm just kidding, I really wouldn't care. I think that's pretty obvious from how I started this post.
I wouldn't be offended by an algorithm learning how to create buildings based on publicly available images of the buildings. After all that's how most players learn! Nearly every player I know has at one point or another straight up copied a building they've seen online while they were still novice. Its the starting point for growth in building. For all I know players have been doing that for my builds already, and I don't mind that prospect at all. And in art the same applies: Attempting to recreate art that you see is a helpful exercise in improving your art in the early stages. And that's never been considered wrong by anybody as long as you aren't specifically claiming that its your own original work. If anything this could be considered more blatant copying than anything that a generative text to image AI does. Not to mention the AI generated structures could be used as a learning tool for new players as well.
I wouldn't be bothered by perceived worse builders being able to make better buildings through prompting. At the end of the day a nice build is a nice build and I don't care if it's made "the easy way". I may even see the generated buildings and take inspiration from them. I seriously don't see how these hypothetical other players' use of this AI should have anything to do with me just because the AI may or may not have learned from what I shared with the world. I made it publicly available and that means anyone can use it for anything that they want (as long as its legal of course). Now if this other builder used the AI and falsely claimed that they built the result block by block, that would be malicious. To be fair though I don't think anyone's arguing that its right to misrepresent your work like that anyway.
So in the end I kind of wound up with the exact same stance, albeit with a little bit more basis for thinking these artists are being unreasonable since I have a bit more perspective using this analogy. Did I miss any of the prominent arguments used by anti-AI people(of course excluding any of the money discussion because Minecraft EULA means this analogy doesn't apply for that)? Does this analogy work or is it flawed?
2024.06.05 02:10 Icicl37 I'm tired of "Entry Level" jobs requiring years of experience and employers who don't give a shit.
I am under 18 and have been desperately looking for a job for months now without even snagging a single interview and am about to go insane. Why am I applying to 50 jobs supposedly at entry level where I meet every qualification and getting rejected from every single one? And why can't the employers at least damn tell me instead of ghosting me? Even if some stupid algorithm is sorting through the applications, can't they at least have some pre-written response telling me what the hell I'm doing wrong and why I got rejected? I don't understand why it's so hard to just treat people like human beings. And I'm still on the first step; I'm sure I'll need to do a thousand interviews before someone decides to not ghost me at that part of the process. Also, let me get a few thins cleared up:
I've tried getting into everything I've just listed. It feels like I've run out of options, and the universe is just taunting since all my friends have gotten jobs. I'm giving it my all, and world is giving a huge middle finger.
I also want to make it clear that I'm not in poverty or anything, I'm lucky live a pretty comfortable life and I don't by any means need a job at all at this age, but it's just something that would be so nice to have so I can have my own money to spend and also build up my college money. It's just so annoying to me that all this effort has nothing to show for it, while all peers who are older than me are easily able to get positions as life guards and stable coaches. I can't drive, I can't do anything special, it just doesn't feel fair and it's extremely infuriating.
2024.06.05 01:30 applegui Why Apple Music kicks ass!
I love Apple Music for this very aspect. I have it set default to lossless and have my system hooked up to a pair of audio engine A5 speakers with a sub and it just fucking kicks. The clarity is unsurpassed excellent.
And the other factor for the headphones with Dolby ATMOS is utterly surreal. I love that I can turn my head and hear a different area of the music. It's crazy insane cool.
The one thing I hated with iTunes is that they had everything in one place. With AM they decluttered the excess and focused on just Music. Podcasts, AudioBooks, Movies and TV Shows are in their own respective apps. Finally!
And if you are in the Apple ecosystem it's pretty kickass with the bundle of Apple One. Actually useable services and sharing your Apple Music and all of the services to 5 other people is really nice. I don't think anyone can beat that in the market currently.
As far as hooks go, my PlayStation 5 supports Apple Music, my Amazon devices support Apple Music and my wireless full size HomePods of course also support it. It is everywhere and on third party devices.
I do appreciate that Apple Music is more album driven than Spotify. Great interview shows with the artists and it links to their artist page so you can listen or watch at any time.
I create and share out my playlists and have people who I don't know follow some of my playlists as well. I have this heavily curated New Wave playlist that people are starting to find and follow, so Apple is building up that community aspect.
Apple's streaming lyrics are killer. Best UI hands down.
I like the SING aspect of Apple Music where you can remove the singer and have just the instrumental track.
I like how Apple quick links the music videos along with the albums.
I like how it gives me my monthly listening report with Replay lists.
My personal music station is spot on. Or I can create an instant station based off one song. It's even better than Pandora in that regard.
I see that Apple Music is doing more live radio type of stations but it doesn't compare to SiriusXM yet. SiriusXM is still the best overall radio platform.
The tight integration with Shazam is fantastic with Apple Music. Even if I know the song, I might Shazam it later have it sitting there in Apple Music for me to either put it into a playlist or stream it on the fly.
I like the aspect I can favorite the artists I want to follow and I get a pop up within Library tab on the phone if a new release drops.
It is so easy to listen for offline. All of my main playlists I have downloaded just in case I am in a weak off beat coverage area.
For those who have Apple Watches, syncing over select playlists essentially brings back the iPod. If you have the cell connectivity you can stream anything without the phone nearby. It is really librating to leave the phone behind while on a bike ride.
Apple Music is just getting better and better and I believe it has the largest library available too.
For those who are into Classical, the Apple Music Classical app is also great. Slightly different UI geared for that genre. Hopefully they will have a Mac App this year when they rollout the new OS. This is also free with your Apple Music sub. So it's an added perk.
Apple is doing a great job with the platform. I look forward to the updates coming next week.
2024.06.05 01:14 flow3rfairyprincess EMDR feels wrong so far
This is my first time ever posting on Reddit and I’m sorry this is so incredibly long. I’m kind of in a desperate crossroads with therapy and don’t know what’s right/wrong.
So I’ve been seeing a therapist for almost a year. Up until last week, we’ve been working on coping skills to build up to EMDR. Starting last week, she felt I was ready so we did a “trial” session where I brought up what I considered to be the least traumatic memory on my list to see if I could handle bringing it to the surface. It’s important to say that I’ve never really connected with my therapist, sometimes she doesn’t seem to listen and also didn’t feel like a real person to me (lots of therapy-speak that seemed regurgitated from grad school classes and made me feel like I was talking to a robot with no original thoughts). However, I was in a desperate situation and wanted to give her (and myself) a chance so I’ve kept at it every week and have relied on the fact that she is trained, so I can at least learn from her how to manage my emotions even if she’s not providing any revelations.
Anyways, I have actually been really excited for EMDR. I’ve been struggling for some time and didn’t realize it was likely trauma related, even though it doesn’t consciously feel like any one of my behaviors stems from a particular instance. I am a believer in science and neuroplasticity so I truly felt this had a strong chance and went into it with a completely open mind. Despite my therapist briefing me on what to expect, I found the actual session to be incredibly frustrating and unpleasant. Some of it just felt plain wrong and I can’t figure out if something is being done incorrectly on her end or if I’m making assumptions too quickly. So basically, I don’t know if my gut intuition that we are not compatible is true and I need to seek help elsewhere or if I just should trust the process. These are the things that were most uncomfortable about it, if anyone can shed light on if this is to be expected:
  1. I was confused the entire time on what exactly I was supposed to do/ think about. She told me don’t force any train of thought just let your mind go in its own direction. For me, if I don’t put reins on my thoughts it will become static that’s totally meaningless and unrelated to the topic. But she also said part of EMDR is keeping a distance from the memories and being aware they’re just that, memories, so you can’t think “too hard” or force anything in a certain direction. If this sounds ambiguous, I thought so too. So after asking multiple times for clarification, I settled on kind of just fabricating a story line of me going through the event in my head even though none of it was organic and every time we’d pause and I’d update her, she’d just say “go with that” and we’d move on. Also, in some of my online research I read that the whole point of EMDR is to be fully immersed and you have to feel it to heal from it, which is not exactly what she told me and I felt essentially nothing during the session or after.
  2. I didn’t realize that EMDR doesn’t involve an actual verbalization of your trauma. Prior to the session, I gave her a list of my traumatic events to target but put into code words that only I would understand. I assumed part of the process would include me talking about these things out loud, and I found it totally creepy that as I was going through this process she didn’t even know what I was talking about. She only got bits and pieces as we paused and she would ask me where I was at. Is this normal? It feels completely impersonal to try and work through events in my life with someone who’s basically following a protocol and doesn’t even know the details of the event I’m referencing. Plus, I thought it would be therapeutic to have a listening ear while I recall these events, because I don’t often seek validation that what I experienced was in fact abuse and that has been one of the most difficult parts in my healing. I didn’t get to do that, we just jumped right in.
  3. Apparently part of the formula is her asking “as you remember this situation, what is the most true negative belief you feel about yourself?” Paraphrased but not far off. I had to ask her three times what she meant by this question and she just kept repeating it. It was not only phrased poorly but I was also taken aback because when I’m remembering events of abuse in my childhood, my first thoughts aren’t negative beliefs I carry about myself. I don’t think these events were my fault. A lot of the residual emotion is like “it wasn’t my fault and I’m deeply wounded and angry that a person I trust could do things like that.” That question may apply to other scenarios, but was incredibly poorly worded for the situation at hand (and most on my list). I don’t know if that type of question is standard, but I didn’t have any idea why she asked and I eventually just made something up to appease her (a common theme of how therapy has gone).
These are the main reasons the experience was so unpleasant and felt so useless. I’m extremely torn because I genuinely don’t know if this is how EMDR goes and if there’s something I’m missing. I’m also scared to hastily walk away from someone I’ve been consistent with for very long when I’ve finally reached the trauma processing step. I had hope that despite the fact that I don’t really like her, she is still trained in EMDR and all it takes is someone to guide me through my own healing. But maybe it’s more complicated than that. Also, I don’t know if maybe EMDR just isn’t right for me. I don’t believe I have PTSD from any specific event where I have a distinct trigger and then it feels like it’s happening all over again. Through my own research, I think it’s more of “complex trauma” and rather it feels like my symptoms are caused by nothing and everything at the same time, but I can’t pinpoint any of it. This is also harder to treat with EMDR and takes greater expertise I’ve read. If anyone has some insight I would really appreciate it because I’m afraid to walk away from this and waste 10 months of work. If this is genuinely how EMDR is supposed to be I will give it a chance and try to learn to work with it. I also am overwhelmed with information online so some of my assumptions may be wrong, that’s why I thought it would be helpful to hear from real people with lived experience. Thank you :)
2024.06.04 23:51 babykoy Lived in the US for a year now - PROS and CONs
Warning: long post but interesting
I arrived here in June of last year, I am somewhere north of Colorado. I've been seeing news that this city is one of the top cities in the whole US - aside from other cities in Colorado, maganda kasi syang state. Just keep this in mind when I'm making the points below. I've visited other states as well, and can say that my current home base is superior to others.
Let me start by saying that ang layo ng quality of life dito vs back home - I guess it is not fair to compare since it is 1st world vs 3rd world but let me highlight some points:
THE GOOD
  1. Education, I mean GOOD education is free. Again, I'm not saying the whole public education system is immaculate BUT in the grand scheme of things - FAR FAR SUPERIOR. Breakfast and lunch are free, imagine that, as a parent - you don't have to worry about it. Laptops are free, and extracurricular activities are aplenty. School buses are free - unless you live within ~2 miles from school. Everything is online as well, from your kid logging in and out, from the daily topics, even the slides used by the teachers are available online so you can review your kid if you want to at home.
  2. No corruption. I'm sure there are but it is nowhere near how blatant it is back home. You can see it EVERYWHERE. From clean/maintained parks, courts are free and not crowded, we even have separate parks for dogs. Speaking of dogs, dog poop bags are free, they are scattered across the park - everyone here has a pet dog here by the way. Proper libraries are free to everyone too. Roads are wide, government offices are VERY efficient.
  3. Everyone is nice/follows the rules. I can't believe it actually, yes there are outliers BUT everyone just knows what is right and what is wrong. Every supermarket here is mostly self-checkout, ikaw mag scan and pay on your own, even $1 stores. All restaurants have free drink refills and no one takes advantage of it. No one crosses the road unless it is their time to GO - even with empty roads. Take out/delivery/advance orders are on an honesty system - they are placed on a rack with your name on it and you can just go in and pick them up - no checks whatsoever, even for delivery riders. Walang kalat, if you've been to Japan - parang ganun and feel, everyone follows the system.
  4. No traffic and Bike Lanes everywhere. Again, this might not be true for the whole US - I believe nasa top 10 ung city ko with the most bike lanes sa US. Not counting actual bike trails peppered across the city. It has something to do with density of course, but I think it has a lot more to do with proper future planning and corruption too. We don't have any railroad system since this is not a big city (like Chicago, NY , Tokyo, etc) and medyo/semi-required to have a car. There is a bus system in the city, which is again free, for those na walang sasakyan. Setting is much like Sta.Rosa/Nuvali but with much wider roads, think suburbs - di uso ung 7-eleven or shops everywhere. Shops are grouped on particular blocks in town. Even with that - there is virtually no heavy traffic, even on rush hours, it is nothing compared to anything I've experienced back home.
  5. The Little Things - from bigger spaces, large parking lots, we don't have any tall buildings in the city - there was a city ordinance passed a long time ago to limit the height of buildings to 3 storeys, this is to preserve the "nature feel" of the city since we have a very beautiful mountain range view on one side of the city and TREES are everywhere. No age discrimination - especially on work opportunities, no race discrimination I've seen/experienced so far.
THE BAD
  1. Housing situation. Not sure if you are aware but there has been a bad trend in housing and leasing costs in the US ever since the pandemic. The cost pretty much doubled post-pandemic - from around $280K pre-pandemic to $450K nowadays (if buying a house and lot). Leasing/renting is of course not going well too - a decent 2-bedroom apartment (with carpark) should easily cost you at the minimum $1600 a month! and it only goes up from there.
  2. Eating out, Labor costs, and tips - these are the things I miss. Eating out here is expensive, sure there are fast food options (a typical fast food meal is around $8-10), but most sit-down restaurants are around $13-15 a meal. Not to mention the "semi-forced" tip of around 18-20%, it is REALLY frowned upon if you do not add tips. Same with labor costs, gone are the days where a simple house repair would cost you ~PHP1000 we are talking hundreds of dollars here :) Anyways, alam mo naman tayong mga pinoy, matipid so I usually do them my self.
BONUS
  1. Aside from eating out, regular goods are surprisingly cheap. Take into account that the minimum wage here is around $15 per hour vs ours back home which is around $15 for the whole day. Beef, chickens, and porks = same lang ng price satin, mas mura pa nga (vs palengke prices) if you buy in bulk/Costco here. Sodas, chips, frozen foods, etc. are again surprisingly cheaper here. Gas is cheaper here too. Veggies and fruits ung medyo mahal but overall - i can't believe it.
  2. With the disparity in daily wages vs back home, it is easier for anyone to buy a car here. Just imagine, same yung price ng car dito at dyan, pero ung minimum wage eh 8 times ung disparity at mas mura pa yung gas - madali lang makabili ng kotse. You can easily buy a car kahit mag part-time ka sa fast food.
2024.06.04 23:31 WeirdoRick bmx appreciation post
tl:dr As the title says i just wanna say how awesome bmx and the whole bubble thats around it is.
Anyway, im in my 10. Year of bmx and its just one big wonderful and weird world its just more than a bike and bike parts its the whole thing that makes it special. I've been to places i never saw, met the most funniest and weirdest dudes just because of bmx, we made a crew, we made jams, we even made into bmx magazines.
Its so weird you go somewhere see some other bmxers and then boom you hanging out and each day is a blast, you meet new homies at jams and build up connections and the community grows and grows. Kids always freeze when they see ous riding at our local spots and the average adult looks at us like we are doing some weird wizardy things.
its not about money, parts or whos the best at x, its just about having fun and a good time, teaching and learning, helping and riding no one cares if your frame is just 20€ or 700€, no one cares if your pro or beginner.
Long story short go outside and ride, build up communites and crews, be nice to kids and teach em, dont be an asshole and support each other, work on your progress and have fun and a good time because someday you cant do it anymore and your prime time is gone.
Enjoy it as long as you can its one unique weird little world we are living in full of fun and madness, each one of you guys made bmx like it is today, keep that mind we are all like a family somehow each one of you make bmx alive. (in case anyone in germany/europe wanna build up a connection send a dm)
