I'm from the U.S. and will be living in the UK next school year. I was looking at prices for postcard stamps I can send my grandparents.
In the U.S., 30 international postcard stamps cost about $50 (£39.15). In contrast, 25 international postcard stamps in the UK are £62.50 ($79.83). I'm curious as to why this might be. Is the postal system rarely used in the UK or something?

Newbie here planning on building a first time ebike. I've found this mountain bike near me on ebay and it seems to be the right size for me and is a decent price. I tried to find other examples of batteries mounted on the underside of the top tube on google images but couldn't find any actual photographs. Is this because the battery gets in the way of your legs in that position?

5 years ago I was in the ER for a BP (120/70) issue unrelated to my surgery. My BP was 153/60. I was in the hospital for 7 days and had some blood work done. When I got home they told me my BP was back to normal.
I'm pretty sure the BP was 130/80.
I'm pretty sure it was the ER's fault for not doing some things correctly.
I've had two CT scans (one close up and one close out), blood work, and a new PCP. My BP is still elevated (almost to 120/80) and the PCP said it's probably stress from my surgery.
The BP has been at least this high before, but it's usually around 100/130. My question is, how can I reduce my risk of a BP issue after this? I've already had surgery (I had surgery on my hip last month). Should I expect my BP to be back to normal after surgery?

I have PT in my right ear, diagnosed about 3 weeks ago. I’ve mostly only seen/heard of PT in the left ear, which would make sense- being that the heart is on the left side. I’m curious if there’s a difference in it being in the right vs left. I had a CT scan and everything came back clear but as I’m reading more about it, it seems like an MRI/MRA is what I should’ve had done. Just unsure if left vs. right has any significance, and if CT or MRI/MRA makes a difference. Any thoughts?

I've been having pain in my RLQ for months. It's a dull pain, kind of like a constant cramp, that's always present at about 3/10 on a pain scale that elevates to 7/10 when my bladder's full or when my stool gets to a certain point in my intestines, so obviously when it's pressed against. To keep this from being pages long I've had numerous tests to confirm it wasn't my ovary, bladder, or appendix, but the CT scan checking the appendix discovered a non specified mass at a little over an inch, predicted to be maybe a keloid or desmoid but undetermined, in that exact area.
So obviously, after over 800 dollars in medical bills, I'm relieved that there is actually something and I'm not just experiencing some phantom pain. Only to be told by my doctor that it's nothing. He starts by asking if I've ever had surgery or trauma there and after I tell him I definitely haven't he looks surprised but still tells me I'm fine and it's probably stress.
At this point I'm dejected, tired, broke, and still in steadily increasing pain. I decide screw it, if he says it's stress then I'll just ignore it and relax, took an early vacay and just did some housework, played some games, etc. Pain is still very much there and getting worse. So I decided to go around him and schedule with another doctor for a second opinion.
So am I overreacting?? Has anyone had pain like this before? Is getting a second opinion even worth it?

I (32F) have been getting sinus infections after any kind of headcold/pollen/or similar inflammation scenarios for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I would get antibiotics and it helped. As I got older, I learned the signs and started treating the sinus stuff with Flonase, sinus rinse, Mucinex, and Sudafed before it became a full blown infection. It still is happening yearly or more often. I went to an allergist earlier this year, assuming I was having some sort of allergy reaction that was causing inflammation in my sinuses. No dice. So I went in asking for a referral to an ENT. I was told that I had to have a CT scan before I could get a referral. My results just came back, and I have “nothing remarkable” in my sinuses. No polyps, no blockages, no misshapen areas, nothing. So now I don’t get a referral, and I am still experiencing the same issues as always. Am I missing something? Am I just destined for a life of misery? Do you have any ideas? I could use any help you all are willing to provide. TYIA

I’m not sure where else to post this, or if what’s been going on with me is even covid related, but here’s the breakdown:
I got covid in the summer of 2023. I had gotten covid prior to that as well, and it seemed relatively mild. However, about 3 months later in late summer, I developed parosmia and a distorted sense of taste. I also started noticing some numbness in my left foot, which then travelled up my leg and became numbness on my left thigh. The numbness travelled further and I felt it in my left pointer finger, up my shoulder, down my shoulder blade, and onto the left side of my head.
Two months ago, my face on the left side began feeling numb. I went to the ER and had CT scans and blood work done—all which came back normal. No sign of tumors, cancer, or stroke that could be detected. I was prescribed Gabapentin. I started taking the Gabapentin and kept taking it until I ran out—and oh my god, that’s when I realized how painful my numbness had become.
I am back on more Gabapentin, which has subsided most of my pain, but I am still experiencing numbness on the left side. I also experience a lot of weakness and popping on my left side—my hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle, neck, and wrist all have started popping every now and then with some pain & shakiness. My left ear also seems clogged—I will sometimes hear it pop a bit, but for the most part, it feels congested. Other symptoms I’ve had unrelated to my numbness is stomach pain, dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, fatigue, brain fog, and feeling generally unwell most days.
I am 23 and have gone to doctors in the past for chronic fatigue, some stomach issues, and chronic active epstein barr, but I feel like I have been deteriorating ever since I noticed my warped sense of smell/taste. The pain only seems to be getting worse. I have an upcoming follow-up appointment with a neurologist, but when I saw him the first time, he basically said “wow, I don’t know what could be causing this, you’re so young you shouldn’t have this” and just gave me more Gabapentin.
I’m not sure what to do, and I have lots of health anxiety that makes me constantly worried there is something really bad happening. Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms?
TL;DR: Have been having numbness, pain, popping, and aches on my left side body, which has also spread to my face. I had a clean CT and blood work, am on nerve medication, but don’t know what seems to be wrong.

I'm a 29 years old white male from Finland. Diagnosis: broken scapula/shoulder bone. This happened last Thursday. Weight: about 90kg but most likely irrelevant to my question. No regular medication, doctor prescribed some painkillers after my accident.
My question to you: is it normal that I cant raise my hand very much on its own and if yes, any idea how long it takes for me to get back the range of motion? Motion is better when I help it with my other hand, but without help, it hurts alot. Pain seems to be located on the humerus.
I got an xray and ct scan after my bicycle and doctor sent me home after the diagnose. No other procedures done. Broken part is the "wing" of the scapula, not reaching the glenoideum.
Would tearing my tendons hurt alot, or show up in the scans?
I appreciate any help I can get.

I was living one year in the UK and apparently we ‘unsubscribed’ our council tax three months before we were actually moving back. And now I keep getting these emails with the remaining tax to pay. What will happen if I don’t pay? And when I’m going to visit uk in the future, can they see that I owe money, when they scan my passport?

So a bit ago I was deciding what components would be best. I got some great advice, and following that led me to a gpu benchmark rabbit hole. It showed that for a little extra money, I could get some much better components, so I have decided today that maybe I should go for an intel pc with an RTX 4070 rather than a full AMD build. This is what I've put together over the last 4ish hours of research, and I'd love some advice. Whether I should stick to my old idea and upgrade to a 7800xt, or go for the intel build with the 4070, or are there some better, cheapesame price options that I should consider?
