Greetings runners. I think you've earned a direct message. I have a job for the best among you. It will be difficult, but the rewards will be great. My organization has found the end of a trail that we've hunted for quite some time now. It's time for resolution.
Beyond the required skill, applicants must be loyal to the mission, not only for my interest, but your own survival. You may not agree with me personally, but trust me, it's all of our interests for this mission to be completed successfully and cleanly. We will screen out candidates that will likely prove... unreasonable. You will hear from us.

2024.03.31 19:11 Lobster_Roller BIC Metal Review - my new air travel razor

Like many of you, I know the pain of flying and not being able to take a DE razor in my carry-on. I’ve already tried the basic yellow BIC, the Gillette Guard, and the Bevel disposable. None of them quite do the trick and I’m left with more irritation and a worse shave.
Today I did my 2nd shave with my BIC metal. It doesn’t have the same feel as a DE, but it’s easy to find the right angle/pressure and it does allow you to do something similar to riding the cap if you need to go less aggressive. The shave was comfortable with no major irritation. It was close enough with 1 pass + touch ups on 3 days of growth. It’s a fine shave but not BBS, which is ok for travel when I’d rather not risk having major razor burn, bumps, or nicks. I’ll give it a try with multiple passes in the future.
The bevel was my previous favorite but its big downside is that it could be confused with a normal DE razor and grabbed by TSA. The shave is decent, but not as good as the BIC metal. I also found that getting the angle and pressure right was trickier with the bevel since it really has no weight but has the head shape of a DE. I was a loyal Gillette Guard user before that, which is cheap and dead simple to use but not a great shave and pretty irritating.

2024.03.02 09:02 KenseiJournal The truth about the medic’s eye. Did he really lose it in the helicopter or was it taken away?

I came across this dope ass comment on a YouTube video explaining why they love Venom and don’t see him much as a villain but a victim. Anyway that’s not my point, what really interested me is his comment about the medic’s right eye. Do you guys think he really lost it during the explosion and it hit the right side eye by mere luck or did he lose due to the plastic surgery accuracy goals? Or thirdly, like I’ve seen seen some other people say elsewhere in other convos, was it lost due to the shrapnel piece interfering with its systems. I think that if it was really removed or damaged during the plastic surgery on purpose then that just goes to show more how much tragic Venom is as a character. From what I remember, Naked Snake/BB actually had his own eye shot, so I’m sure there nothing inside his cavity. What do y’all think? I wanna hear different takes or anyone who has “the truth”.

2024.02.29 19:24 user0620 BB's theme origin theories

In Death Stranding, "BB's theme" is the song sung by Cliff to BB Sam. However, not much is known about the song besides that, leaving a lot to the imagination.
For one thing, who wrote the song within the gameworld? Did Cliff write it? I don't get the impression that Cliff is a tallented singer-songwriter, could he have written the such a complex melody with various 'bridges' and epic build up such as in the soundtrack version of "BB's theme"?
How much of the song is actually cannon within the gameworld? We see Cliff sing only the first eight lines. However, Sam is able to play the first bridge on his harmonica, before restarting from the beginning.
What is "BB's theme" actually called within the gameworld? It couldn't possibly be called "BB's theme" - like, Cliff writes a song and names it BB's 'theme', okay. Would make more sense, as "BB's lullaby". What else could it be called in the gameworld, "See the Sunset"?
How does Higgs know BB's theme? We know that he is a serious hardcore stalker of Sam, so he could have learned it that way. But his usage of it in the Death Stranding 2 trailer led me off in two different but similar directions into what the song's origin and purpose may be.
The first path I went on was based on the similarity of Higgs 'performance' to the Hendrix rendition of the US National Anthem. This seems to connect BB's theme to the UCA in my mind. Lyrically, it does seem like something that would be put forth by the extremist nanny-state we see in Death Stranding. Still, it's not quite a national anthem lyrically, so it's a weak connection.
But then I was thinking further about it, and the song may have importance to BB's in general. Like some kind of hypnotic lullaby to keep BB units pacified and loyal to the UCA. Higgs uses BB's theme as a weapon against the giant robot baby, but it doesn't work for whatever reason.
And as we see when Sam plays the tune for BB Lou, BB reacts very strangely. Not quite happy, more of a primal growling reaction then pacification. Are we to assume that this BB shares the same memories of Cliff, or that Lou is reacting to the song as intended by design?
This theory makes Cliffs usage of the song to BB more interesting. It's as though he's subveting the melody to strengthen BB's bond to himself, as opposed to the UCA.
Anyways, this is a revision of a hastily attempted post yesterday afternoon when I didn't have my facts straight. But knowing Hideo Kojima games, I'm completely wrong about everything.

2024.02.05 16:56 PM_ME_ELECTROLYTES Replaying MGSV on a new account, good lord is it depressing.

I know many in this sub have come to this conclusion, but I wanted to see if anyone shared my feelings about MGSV.
When I first played V, I too felt disappointed in the story; it was too short, BB rarely spoke, there seemed to be way too many unnecessary retcons (BB's horn, his prosthetic arm, his demeanor in general). There were a lot of things I did like, mainly the gameplay and I enjoyed a lot of the missions. When the story officially ended, I was pissed. I didn't even really care that we weren't actually BB. Game was over, Kojima left, and I never wanted to replay V.
When the Master Collection came out, I immediately started a replay of MGS1-3. Once that was done, I decided to try to 100% Ground Zeroes, which got me wanting to give V another shot. Knowing what I know now, holy shit is this game depressing. It's such a different experience when you've already seen the Truth tapes. You were in a coma for 9 years, given the identity of your hero, and gaslit until you finally are shown the truth. Everything that Venom goes through was just to give BB breathing room to complete his mission. Building MB, recruiting loyal soldiers who fight and die for you, falling in love? (Quiet), all while becoming the the target of everyone who seeks vengeance against BB. What really hit me hard was V's PTSD for Paz. When I originally played, I was so annoyed that she "survived" that I didn't even bother bringing her more pictures. But this playthrough, I'm trying to 100%, and so I went to her room and jesus, I feel for V.
I have such an appreciation for V, and MGSV as a whole, now. It still has its flaws, but Venom is now one of my favorite MGS characters.
Sorry for the book report TLDR: I didn't like MGSV originally, now I love it.

2024.01.01 10:12 HMKS Summary of the major manga events in 2023 (1071-1102)

Looking back at this year's manga chapters, there's been so much development in the One Piece world and it's pretty much been amazing chapter after amazing chapter for the most part.
We started the year off with Kuma crashing into the Red Port in 1071 and that specific chapter ended with Garp recruiting marines from G-14 to invade Hachinosu to save Koby.
We then saw (let me know if I forgot a major event):
What an amazing year 2023 was for OP fans. Between the many amazing events in the manga, some incredible anime episodes culminating in the G5 reveal and Kaido’s defeat, and a great live action adaptation. I’m definitely missing some other events, but here’s to One Piece in 2024, and to Oda of course!

2023.12.30 19:27 Patient-Cap9127 Jeremy and Bonnie bro

Obviously most of us remember how we played as Jeremy Fitzgerald in fnaf 2 and that in help wanted tape girl mentions her co-worker Jeremy. Now with HW2 released I can piece together what I think happened.
We all can agree that HW2 is pointing to us being Bonnie bro (BB) or BB being way more important that he originally seemed. The first time we see the name Jeremy is in fnaf 2 when we get our pay check. This isn't Michael because when Mike gets fired it's for tampering and odor. We know that he's a rotten corpse which is why he smells. Jeremy doesn't get fired, he's instead moved to the day shift (and a lot of people theorize he's the 87 bite victim.)
The next time we hear his name is when we start collecting the tapes in HW. He was working in the design department before being transferred to being a beta tester for the game. Glitch trap then goes to him causing him to cut his face off. These are all things we know pretty clearly and have known for years.
Now what I think happened is after the bite of 83, Jeremy felt the guilt of what he had done and wanted to make up for what he did. In 1987 Jeremy got the job as a security guard, a job where he could help protect the kids there. He was young when he got the job id say between 18 and 22ish. After moving to the day shift he no longer had to worry about the animatronics coming after him or killing him so he stayed with the job.
Roughly 50 years pass and Jeremy still hasn't left the company. He's a loyal worker who climbed his way from night security to a member on the design department which explains why he would have a faz wrench (Design department makes products/services). Everything was going smoothly until he was transferred to be a beta tester.
After the incident I doubt Cassie saw him afterwards. We aren't fully sure what happened to him after that but the way she referred to him in the past tense I think after he tried recovering but the glitch virus still affected him so he instead left for her safety or even something as simple as he got put in a mental hospital for self harm.
I do want to say that Jeremy is also written on one of the grave stones and I don't really have an explanation. Two ideas is that Jeremy was BBs little brother and after 83 he wanted to protect his brother. He failed in the end since afton killed him which is what "Remember Jeremy" could also mean. The dolls remind me of serial killer trophies so seeing that made BB think of Jeremy. The only explanation I can give as to why they would have the same name is because BB took his name in honor of him (like how parents name their kids after their past siblings to honor them).

2023.12.24 15:41 -jeanesis- The Weekly Rant of a [not so] Repressed Writer #5 ~ Part ONE - 24 Dec 23

ho hi!
my guys!
here we are again! finally!
hope i made u a little impatient with that one coming up a few days later than usual (yeah i’m like that, playing with ur emotions - just the way u do with mine)
don’t worry yet though, u won’t get disappointed by what’s down below (wink)
if u still happen to be, just leave a downvote, it’s been a while! (an open call to get beaten, am i a masochist? could be - wink, again)
it seems that some of u like to remain silent and obedient, just the way i used to be before i got beaten on my birthday
god, someone’s been horny lately (and apparently i’m not the only one, see for urself here)
horny for a good party! what else did u think about? (u filthy animal)
u came at the right place, if u like to make it last (keep one eye closed, that wink is here to stay)
the weekly rant of a [not so] repressed horny writer (yep it’s that bloody time of the month, i’m just a girl after all)
u’re in for a treat my guy, if u see what i mean (keep that eye closed i said)

~~~
#5
another week, the last one of the year
i mean what the fuck! another year that went fast and furious
i’d even say the fastest and most furious year of all
gotta admit it, i went for it blinded by naivety and optimism (really can’t help myself)
see that solid wall? i went right through it, took a few steps back, went through it again, and asked for more! harder, better, faster, stronger (hope ur eye is still closed)
oh i know u did as well, don’t lie my guy, it’s just fine! (u're just another brick in the wall, i am not the one to judge - not anymore)
guess i’m starting to know u better than u know urself
end of the year, meaning time to (self)reflect? ha u see me coming with another excuse to justify my overflowing chain of thoughts (some things never change)
oh well!
needless to say at this point, i am still a big fan of stream of consciousness writing (yes my guy, i’m still thinking about this one u dropped the other day, do u remember? knowing u, probably not, sigh - all these efforts in vain...)
[also, in case u still didn’t get it (hold on, i’m close)
i mean how could u? u might not be a [not so] repressed reader in the end (are u?)
i can still count my loyal devotees on my fingers, can’t i? (crazy what u can do with those, shhh)
in case u still didn’t get it, here it is, written black on white, as “simple” as it is:
everything i wrote/write/will write is coming from what i heard from people around me/what i said to them/what i’m presently living/what will happen next (could go on like that for a while but let’s try not to overcomplify)
meaning, pick one line (one dream? does anyone here get that one? there’s a least one who should be able to, talking to u my guy), any line (we all know how it ends to the great displeasure of my poor nose) and i can tell u who’s/what’s behind it, the story within the story, from inception to conception, the master plan shaping up in my strange and twisted and deranged mind (always been ambitious and visionary... only a dreamer after all?)
there’s no empty shell that haven’t been to sea (and poetry entered the stall)
yes, it’s all true! wanna play that game? easy, come and find me in the nightclub, i’m sure u and i will have a lot of fun (i might even come - who knows?)
yes my guys, u are my core inspiration!
what would i even be without u? only a shadow or a dead body (pick ur side: poesy vs gloom; white vs black; pano vs bh; okay that’s enough! stupid brain i swear…)
see, even that disclaimer was inspired, by the cutie i met with this week (babe, congratulations u made it to the weekly, and even before u made it to the dancefloor - u’re a lucky raccoon!)]
anyway!
another week, one less until the final countdown (that one’s too easy not to be included, sorry not sorry - probably not the one u expect though ha ha ha)
however, it is no time to despair yet!
yes my guys, we going for a proper bender to close the perpetual bender that this year has been (oops i overcomplifyied that phrase)
i mean what’s wrong about pouring oil on the fire when u do it in the chimney? (and another beautiful metaphor from my passionate self)
i’m all about conscious living, i mean in the end isn’t life merely a succession of choices? (and philosophy eventually made it to the cubicle!)
good choices, less good choices, questionable choices?
ha see! optimistic i said (pick that half full glass of wine before someone else does, aren't u thirsty?)
i mean how do we sleep when our beds are burning? (yes, even corny songs have a spot on the dancefloor, the more the merrier)
well, we don’t
we get in da club before eleven o’clock (tried real hard but can’t deny i failed that quest too many times - arf does it really matter? nope)
and that’s exactly my plan for the next few days
our plan? yes, our plan! u come with me love, this is no invitation, this is an order (do u like that? when i take control of ur body)
i mean did u see the quality of the lineups offered by our local academy this week? it’s worthy of ur attendance, undisciplined student!
don’t know what i’m talking about? (i mean yeah this one’s especially hard to follow, got too damn much inside my mind)
here, let me help u my guy, two words to remember: tussenin nights
from wednesday to saturday, let’s see if u can last this long (is ur eye is still closed? hopefully!)
so many men names, so little time (kidding, never been a one night stand kind of gurl - does this really come as a surprise?)
i mean it’s lowkey a mini festival happening each night, how the fuck (!) am i gonna do when i wanna see two artists performing simultaneously? (don’t even suggest it, filthy animal - i’m not there yet)
i mean how can i choose between dark sweaty basement and sweet humid muzieklokaal?
pros and cons? the comment section is urs my guy, if u wanna try ur hand (bet u’re still winking)
nevermind, that is dilemma for a later time
and time is now to look closer at the menu, cause one’s getting famished by this mouth-watering tease (and even getting down down down)
[that might take a while, we have a lot to cover this time
so bear with me and be patient my guy
préparez votre temps, pour vous j’ai tout le mien
this fire burning inside of me, i just don’t want to extinguish it yet
oh wait, let me correct one thing
that will take a while, we will cut this in parts this time
cause i don’t wanna loose u, please don't go]
i hope that u’re still here my guy, cause i won’t be until the very last minute
ha another nuit de folie (beware that one is pure french kitchery, the type i grew up to - couldn’t help it, i mean imagine me writing this crazy long ass text stuck back in the motherland at this time of the year, only getting back to my roots i guess)
as i was saying, surely another night living on the edge as i will land back on wednesday eleven o’clock (actually won’t make it in da club so early - sad and sorry about it but it is what it is)
oh well, still gotta have to act fast cause one doesn’t wanna miss her ultimate dj crush smashing the basement for one last time (someone told me he’s playing first)
i won’t even say his name, no need to (i’m really coming, no joke)
i mean what more can i say about him that i haven’t said before (check this, this, maybe this, this too, and that)
oh wait, i actually have (a lot) more to tell according to my draft notes (could i even be the lord's favorite?)
i got pretty inspired last time i went to garage, (that’s what happens when u have hell of a blast in a nightclub)
not gonna hold back further, so here it is (keep on going!)
when parrish smith plays, people dance (not talking about a shy hip bounce, far from it - if u know u know)
when parrish smith plays, i’m dancing like i’ve never danced before (surely a maniac on the floor, haven’t u figured me out still?)
he has his specific way of building a set to keep u moving (leaving?) and stick to the floor (u ain’t be nomads in the club), if u will to take the bet (don’t be weak my guys)
like a kiss in the storm on ur lips, with a gun on ur neck
pleaser, only when he chooses to be, he kills the day a beat in harmony and brings u to places u’ve never been before
he’s gonna show u where it’s dark, but have no fear
smooth operator, he overlaps layers like a maestro and plays with ur mind until u can’t get enough
he’s gonna take u back where u belong, among the freaks like me, among the freaks like u
he knows his way with music the same way i do with words (always on point?)
with razor blade precision and surgical steel, he makes sharp incisions to bleed ur thoughts
u might think u’ve gone crazy, u might think u’ve gone mad
but if u don’t know yet what u are, he will show u the way
always taking u on a ride where he challenges u to back down or go with him
i went once, never turned back, never will
wanna party?
come on baby, take a chance with us
only if the doorman will let u in the door
only if u’re ready to fuck it all
let the darkness lead u to light
[please note, the songs listed in the above story within a story might sound familiar to ur experienced ears (some people on the sub are so critical about the sound quality, i’m genuinely impressed - in a good way!)
as they ALL provide from the dark lord himself (told u i got inspired)
can u tell which ones are classic moves? (dear prince, please forgive me for ripping off ur playlist - hope it’s alright with u! maybe a little push to renew it? no, i wouldn’t dare)
ha don’t worry if u have no idea, he surely will play some of them (who knows? he is as unpredictable as i could be)]
so there it was (i came)
the reason why i’m still not over it after all these times (babe, u even made it twice in the weekly!)
i mean when it’s good, it’s good (one’s learned to prioritise her own pleasure after all, and u can’t blame her for it)
ha but if u think we are done now, well think again (told u, not a flirt)
the night is not over yet, and one needs comfort after such an effort (it’s not easy to lose control)
that’s exactly what i’m gonna get by spending the rest of the night in muzieklokaal to the sound of kléo, palms trax and prosumer
until the itch to go crazy pulls me back to the basement to catch bits of JASSS
been seeing that typo on a certain klubnacht lineups for way too many times, gotta oblige to check her out, and i strongly advise u to do the same my guy
and remember to never stop dancing, until the very last second (no need to remind u, het einde is near)
then, well this is the end, beautiful friend
only a goodbye, as we will be reunited in the next few hours (to my far-away bbs, u are dearly missed, i’m thinking about u everyday)
it’s time for a well-deserved day sleep (if only the energy flash finally dries down), smile on my face and bliss in my head
hope u made it so far, cause god, that was a biggy to write (it’s not the size that matters)
don’t even start to complain about the reading time, or i will bite (do u like that? boy u nasty)
so here it is my guys, the part ONE is nearly over (it’s never over! i told u my guy, do u remember that moment? on ur way back to the basement, right before we took the very back stairs, no? oh well, still in vain i guess...)
oh and another one for u while i have ur attention (do i?): don’t refrain ur inner desires (said it before), they might end up showing on a picture (yes i’m talking about us my guy, can’t u see it? this attraction showing off, it’s no cinema! why don’t u wanna see it?)
still sleeping on my own, in case u wonder
still looking for someone to love (and god knows i have a lot of love to give away)
u better rest well cause we ain’t be done for the week!
to be continued at next episode… (sooner than later, wait for it)
and as always, if u see a red dragon giving it all on the dancefloor, come and say hi, i’ll try not to set u on fire
can’t guarantee though, my enthusiasm is often contagious 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
p.s. (no pun intented, ha ha) a merry christmas to u my guys, if u celebrate! (if not, well i hope u had a good one last night - urs truly had hell of a fomo, sniff)
2023.12.04 02:36 Irradiated_Coffee Sticking to your morals in a game. What it means and why does it matter? [MGSV]
How many people stuck to their morals (if they had them) start to finish?
I ask because I was recently looking back into my V experience and in general being very merciful and accepting no casualties at all. I went as far as diving INTO the fucking skull boulders to shield zombified soldiers to then extract and save.
For all the bad shit they did, Venom is rather benevolent for a head for a merc group. Even Spicy Hamburger Miller is surprisingly decent for a "burn the world to the ground" kinda scorned character.
I sometimes wonder if they were just edgy teens considering how decent they COULD be and how they see themselves as damned and devils. They rarely seemed to earn that title. What truly evil thing did they do? Most of thier merc work even has a humanitarian angle to it. Even the quarantine shooting was understandable given the consequences. You'd have to be a moron or comic book hero that transcends consquences to not understand why it HAD to be done. Inaction was morally the worst option. They aren't angels but I certainly wouldn't describe them as devils.
Yet in my quest to complete (get all achievements) the experience. I threw away staff members like they were mere numbers with no feelings, created a nuke for teh lulz and developed deadly weaponry even if I never planned on using them.
Does V really help spell the downfall of BB? Spoilers aside Or is Venom just being a emo kid thinking their monsters for having bad thoughts? I feel like they could have went a bit darker. They practically fucking home schooled a bunch of orphans who would have just died in a fight they wanted no part of.
I get that there is an angle of being sympathetic to the villian but what the hell actually happened to justify it? V leans in heavy into having a anti-war angle and yet is meant to represent the downfall of someone who does truly horrible things?
Sure BB's insincerity, sneaky tactics and brainwashing of a loyal soldier is pretty shit but he never really reached the despicable child soldier using fiend the OG games painted him as.
Despite it being impossible now, I'd love if we got MGS:0 that covered MG 1 & 2 in some large scale world remake as Snake becomes a legend. Update some of the lore and maybe wrap it up a bit nicer.
Does the morality of MGSV (and even the rest of the series) matter to you and why? Feel free to share if you think it matters or not.
Scott Norton interview with Dave Meltzer
Dave Meltzer: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with a true wrestling powerhouse, Scott Norton. Scott, your upcoming match at NWA Allegiance on February 23rd has garnered immense attention. Can you give us some insights into your strategy for taking on Naoya Ogawa and his mystery partner?
Scott Norton: Dave, first of all, thanks for having me. It's always an honor to talk wrestling with someone who knows the business inside out. Now, about NWA Allegiance, you're right, it's a big one. Ogawa's been carrying that NWA World Heavyweight Title around like a badge of honor, and I'll give credit where it's due. But come February 23rd, things are gonna change.
Dave Meltzer: Interesting. So, there's been talk about your decision to bring in your longtime friend and teammate, Don Frye, as your partner for this match. What's the rationale behind this move?
Scott Norton: Don Frye and I go way back, Dave. We've shared more battles and victories than I can count. We're not just friends; we're brothers in arms. Don's got the same intensity and drive that I bring to the ring, and when you're up against someone like Ogawa, you need that kind of unity. We know each other's strengths and weaknesses like the back of our hands. Don's a force to be reckoned with, and together, we're gonna give Ogawa and his mystery partner the fight of their lives.
Dave Meltzer: Speaking of Ogawa, he's been making waves not just in the NWA, but also in Japan. You've had your own history there, particularly with Team 2000. Can you share some insights into your experiences and thoughts on that period?
Scott Norton: Absolutely, Dave. Team 2000 was a turning point in my career. You know, Japan has always been a breeding ground for some of the toughest wrestlers out there. When I teamed up with guys like Masa Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Don Frye, it was like a seismic shift. We were outsiders, but we made our presence known. We dominated Japan, and it was that camaraderie, that unwavering bond that propelled us to greatness. And you better believe, that spirit, that unity, it's gonna be front and center when Don and I step into the ring at Allegiance.
Dave Meltzer: Powerful words, Scott. Now, about Ogawa's mystery partner – any speculations on who it might be?
Scott Norton: (chuckles) Well, Dave, I've seen my fair share of surprises in this business. But whoever Ogawa's got up his sleeve, they better be ready to face the might of Don Frye and me. We're not coming in blind; we're coming in focused, with a strategy to take them down. Whoever it is, they're stepping into the lion's den.
Dave Meltzer: Thank you, Scott. Best of luck at NWA Allegiance. We'll all be watching as you and Don Frye aim to shake things up in the NWA.
Scott Norton: Thanks, Dave. Get ready for an explosive night.
Their grappling prowess is on full display as they engage in a struggle of strength and technique, each maneuver eliciting gasps from the audience. As the match progresses, the intensity only deepens. Don Frye and Dan Severn engage in a heated exchange, showcasing their MMA backgrounds with a barrage of grappling holds and hard-hitting strikes. The crowd roars in appreciation as the two veterans demonstrate their proficiency in a wide range of combat techniques. High-impact suplexes and power moves punctuate the match, leaving the ring shaking and the audience in awe. Scott Norton's powerhouse style clashes with Naoya Ogawa's calculated offense, resulting in a symphony of bone-rattling impacts that reverberate through the arena. The combatants spill to the outside, unleashing their aggression with an array of devastating maneuvers that take advantage of the ringside environment. The match takes a barbaric turn as weapons come into play. Steel chairs, kendo sticks, and even a table find their way into the fray, intensifying the brutality. The crowd's reactions alternate between exhilarated cheers and shocked gasps as the four competitors push their limits and engage in a ferocious battle for supremacy. The climax arrives with a crescendo of chaos and carnage. Naoya Ogawa locks Don Frye in a punishing submission hold, forcing Frye to the brink of submission. Meanwhile, Scott Norton unleashes his signature powerbomb on Dan Severn, leaving both Severn and Norton incapacitated on the mat. The crowd's anticipation reaches a fever pitch as the referee's count comes dangerously close to ten. In a shocking turn of events, Scott Norton suddenly rallies, summoning a reserve of energy to break free from his prone position. With sheer determination, Norton lunges forward, breaking the referee's count just in the nick of time. The crowd erupts in cheers as Norton's resilience keeps the match alive. The finish unfolds as Scott Norton and Don Frye orchestrate a tandem attack that culminates in a devastating double-team maneuver, incapacitating Naoya Ogawa. With Ogawa neutralized, Scott Norton covers him for the pinfall victory. The arena trembles with cheers as Norton and Frye celebrate their hard-fought triumph. Post-match interviews capture the exhaustion and elation of the competitors, each expressing their respect for their opponents and the intensity of the battle. The arena reverberates with the lingering echoes of a match that pushed the boundaries of physicality and showcased the heart of combat sports. The main event of NWA Allegiance 2k concludes with a victorious roar, solidifying the evening as a testament to the enduring spirit of competition within the NWA.
2023.10.27 00:55 Lyrst New tempesta stuff since wiki isn't updating (as far as i've gotten) hope this helps.
Edit - IN case you missed it!!! Not gonna put the stats(because you can check them yourself ^.^) (they seem to add airplane damage reduction, one is 25 percent less airplane damage at +10) but there are Augments for the tempesta ships. NOT royal fortune...just the new ones :( Unless her's comes from day 7 of the minigame. Whydah and celeste's give shields for 6 shots. Interesting ..don't forget the augments. Eva doesn't matter if you have shields up and can stomp em :D..probably not possible tho.
And gonna toss this out there - checking the aux, some don't work (gold rudder) camo however does, and so does some collab stuff like sky vitter (giving +40 AA to your 0..SSSS tempesta ship whoo). Intel reports, "world ticket", tempesta specific stuff - and like i said, collab gear. Ryza's bombs work too...if you have them. Very interesting bit there...
Added adventure Galley (kinda disappointing) - might add more if i get it and remember..by then it should all be up on the wiki anyway. Or too lazy to check the wiki -- Anything with the percentage, or "lvl 1 skill barrage" will level, rest is kinda stuck, anything with oxy or ammo (says max ammo is 6) is a sub. If only mary celestes ghost ship attacked :(
On that note - don't forget the minigame at the secret base (also where you get the tempesta banner), bounties for completing areas/15k coins earned etc etc. Hope this helps and i don't get in trouble...enjoy :D
2023.10.01 21:22 CannedBeanofDeath New Interview with Itsuno from Italian web (Google Translate)
multiplayer dot it/articoli/dragons-dogma-2-i-segreti-del-gioco-svelati-da-hideaki-itsuno.html
Don't forget to click the link to help web like this to get more interview
J: Journo
J: Playing the demo we are even more convinced: Dragon's Dogma 2 seems more like the full realization of the concept behind the first chapter than a sequel. Do you confirm that this time you managed to include everything you had in mind when you conceived what at the time you code-named "BBS RPG"?
Itsuno: Yes. I believe that the original Dragon's Dogma was way ahead of its time given what I wanted to make and the hardware that was available at the time. We knew that we were running into major limitations, and therefore that we wouldn't be able to realize everything I had in mind. We simply couldn't make everything as good as possible. So this time, with the latest generation of consoles, I'm sure I've succeeded and revisited all those ideas and implemented them, keeping the same formula that made Dragon's Dogma unique.
J: Managing party mates was a unique feature of the first Dragon's Dogma, and during the presentation we saw some very interesting interactions with the Pawns. Like when one grabbed the player on the fly. How did you explore this aspect of the game?
Itsuno: The example of the Pawn that prevents the player from falling is perfect because... it was already possible in the original game!
J: Wow, how is this possible? I swear this has NEVER happened to me.
Itsuno: It's normal, because in the first Dragon's Dogma it was very difficult for that to happen. It almost never happened because very specific conditions had to occur, and many people never saw it. If the player was falling in one place, a teammate would run towards him to catch him in time, but if you weren't in exactly the right place at the right time it didn't work. So what I did with Dragon's Dogma 2 was take rare emergent behaviors like this and make them happen more frequently so that more players can enjoy them. There are also other things I've been working on for the sequel, with a focus on both the interactions between the player and the Pawns and between the party mates themselves. After defeating a monster, you might notice that one of your classmates has their hand raised, and if you get closer you can give them a high five. The Pawns can also communicate with each other: perhaps one of them will make a comment and another Pawn could respond in kind or with a joke. In short, I tried to make sure that the interactions between all party members are more varied.
J: And in fights? Have you improved the behavior of the artificial intelligence in this case too?
Itsuno: During combat, the Pawns now seem more involved and more attentive to what the player is doing. Or, instead of waiting for the player to attack enemies and join the fight, they could automatically start fighting nearby monsters. They will try to protect their owner and stay closer to him. We've also refined their ability to specialize, and over time they learn the best strategies for dealing with certain monsters. There is a system of badges that Pawns can earn that show if they are particularly effective against a certain type of enemy: so it will be easier to understand which Pawns are most useful in certain missions.
J: The first Dragon's Dogma used the online component in particular and sometimes surprising ways. One example was the appearance of the Ur-Dragon. Can we expect similar situations in Dragon's Dogma 2 too?
Itsuno: I can't go into too much detail about this yet. We presented the demo at the fair and showed some gameplay sequences online to help you understand what makes this game unique. However, we will deal with aspects like this later in the coming months.
J: And what about the dungeons? Will there be caves, temples or more complex settings as was the case with the island of Nerabisso?
Itsuno: What I can say so far is that there will be plenty of places to explore in Dragon's Dogma 2 as well. It's a large open world, which will include not only landscapes and scenery to explore, but also very dungeon-like areas. Here too, unfortunately I cannot be specific about what there will be or how it will be compared to areas such as the island of Nerabisso, but I am convinced that fans will be really happy with the variety of environments that can be explored in the game.
J: When you started working on Dragon's Dogma 2, what was the element that had the most priority? The one you said "we definitely need to put this thing in"?
Itsuno: Personally, my priority was to get more kingdoms into the game and have one of them be inhabited by an animalistic race. And so we did, with the addition of the mainly Ferid kingdom of Battahl. Yes, that was one of my goals for the sequel right from the start.
J: What was it like when you got together and started jotting down ideas for this sequel?
Itsuno: To put the strangest ideas on the table, we met not in the office, but in another place in Osaka. That day, key team members and I began to propose gameplay ideas and situations that might arise during the game. This went on for three days, where we all stayed in the same place. And, you know, it's after midnight that the best ideas usually come out. So we wrote everything down, and even if in the end we couldn't implement every single thing, it was in that three-day marathon that the most interesting ideas and little pearls emerged that you will later find in the emerging gameplay of Dragon's Dogma 2.
J: We have so far had a taste of the classes present, both the basic ones and some more advanced ones. What can we expect about the others yet to be revealed?
Itsuno: There will certainly be more classes than those shown so far, and if you look carefully at the information published so far you might even get an idea of what they might be. At the same time there are several that you certainly wouldn't be able to imagine at this precise moment. All you have to do is wait.
J: As in the first Dragon's Dogma, the fact that a class specializes in a single thing could make life difficult in certain situations. For example, with the Warrior I always had a lot of difficulty fighting harpies and other flying enemies: have you taken this type of handicap into consideration for the sequel? Have you included alternative solutions or have you further differentiated the classes?
Itsuno: All classes specialize in something, but I'm convinced that each will have a different way of approaching certain situations. And relying on Pawns helps a lot. For example, if your character is a warrior, having an archer in the team can give a big hand against flying enemies. Furthermore, there will also be many objects that will help fill the gaps in the class you have chosen. The warrior can carry magic books with him to cast spells, and perhaps attack a harpy with thunder; or again, he can pick up a rock and throw it. This is not to say that the choice of class ends up being irrelevant, but that you will find yourself thinking about how to fill your character's weak points by exploiting a different strategy or getting help from Pawns and objects. I'll also give you another clue: around the world you might come across Pawns who are exploring the kingdom and who you could add to your party. Here, we have made sure that the Pawns encountered in a certain area can have specializations that are useful against the enemies of that particular region. So when you meet a Pawn along her path, consider her and perhaps offer her to join you: she could be very useful to you.
J: Since quite a few years have passed since the first Dragon's Dogma, was there any other work released in the meantime that influenced you for the creation of this sequel?
Itsuno: Since the release of the first Dragon's Dogma, arguably the most influential fantasy work in pop culture has been Game of Thrones. But I didn't ask our team to research particular series or films: I wanted us to have a unique style. The only thing I asked for was to replay the original Dragon's Dogma so I could get inspired to make the new game.
J: Dragon's Dogma has surrounded itself with a very loyal community over the years. Was there any particular feedback you took into consideration for the direction of this sequel?
Itsuno: Community feedback is important. We didn't just read online comments about the original game, but we also carried out research and surveys among fans around the world, asking what they liked and what they didn't like about the old Dragon's Dogma. This research was interesting because it gave us an idea of what to improve, but at the same time it showed that the ideas behind the first chapter are still very popular among modern audiences today.
J: Many were passionate about the first Dragon's Dogma above all for the gameplay and the action component, a little less for the story and the quality of the secondary missions. Are you working on writing quests more carefully?
Itsuno: My original vision for Dragon's Dogma was first and foremost to create an RPG with a great action experience. At the time it was one or the other: either you had an RPG with a strong narrative component or an action game. And my goal was to combine the two. What I want to do with the sequel is improve the story and make it more engaging: for example, in the old chapter many of the fetch quests that could be collected on the noticeboards in the outposts had no story at all. We got rid of those missions and made sure that all the tasks you get from other characters, or at least all the side missions, have interesting narrative elements. I hope there are people who appreciated the first Dragon's Dogma also for the story.
J: One thing that I really liked about the first Dragon's Dogma and that I see coming back even stronger in the second is the darkness. In Dragon's Dogma 2 the darkness is really scary and at night you will see absolutely nothing. It's not often that games embrace darkness so much.
Itsuno: To be honest, that mechanic is linked to a personal experience dating back to when I was a student. There was a temple near my university, and people often visited it at night as a sort of test of courage. And, trust me, on moonless nights you could see absolutely nothing and it was terrifying. Since I smoked at the time, I had a lighter with me that I used to make light, and I tried to use it to look around, but the light was so bright that it made it even more difficult to see anything. That experience, and the feeling that night is a truly dark and terrifying time, was something I really wanted to put into an RPG, and that's why it's in the game.
2023.09.18 07:13 kuromitsuame Theory of "Peach-don", the master of Loyal Three
This post is about a possible new legendary pokemon that might be teased in the Teal Mask's setting.
Actually, it is not me who came up with the idea. The idea popped up in a Japanese forum yesterday, and became so viral in that forum.
I put links below. They are all in Japanese, but I believe you can get a general idea.
https://bbs.animanch.com/board/2399147/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey5qWEI-bt4&t=6s
(*YouTube link is a video version of one of threads talking about this topic.)
So let me summarize what has been discussed.
First, in the DLC, you can find "peach-like" monster in two places.
  1. A shelf of " Peachy's", the grocery shop of Mossui Town.
  2. A movie inserted while the grandpa of Carmine/Kieran explaining about the true story of Loyal Three.
So what can this "peach-like" monster be? For that question, you need to look at the Loyal Three.
Do you know that all the "Loyal Three" are categorized as "Retainer" pokemon? Retainer may mean similar to "servant". Here is another question: If they are "servant", who is their master?
To answer that one, you need to refer to the fairy tale. You may have heard that the Loyal Three is based on a Japanese fairy tale called "Peach-Boy (Momotaro)".
The story is about a boy born from within a peach. He grows up, goes out to the journey for defeating evil ogres. On his way to the ogre island, he recruited servants: Dog, monkey and bird. When he finally reaches the ogre island, he defeated ogres together with these servants.
Many people in Japan believe this "Peach-Boy" fairy tale is what everything in Kitakami is based on. Ogerpon is Ogre, Ogidogi, Munkidori and Fenzadipti are servants of Peach-Boy. Also, do you know that "Oni Mountain" means "Ogre Mountain"?
However, one thing is missing: Peach-Boy himself, and people in the above-mentioned forum presume that the peach-like monster mentioned twice in the game is actually the Kitakami's version of Peach-Boy, and it is the master of Loyal Three. They even dubbed this peach as "Peach-don" (in Spanish, "don" means "senior", but Japanese tends to use it as "boss" because of Yakuza movies).
They have also assumed that "toxic chain" attached to all of Loyal Three might be given by the said "Peach-don", as power-source/literal leash for its servants.
The wilder speculation is that since the toxic chain is...poison, and the figure of "Peach-don" somewhat resembles Glimmora (poison/rock pokemon strongly tied with Terastal), the forum users think that the "Peach-don" is related to Glimmora. They even think that "Peach-don" may be the 3rd and final form of Glimmet tribe (Glimeet is seed, Glimmora is flower, and "Peach-don" is fruit).
OK, that is pretty much all I can share. What do you think? (Edited for better understanding of the context. Edited again about "don".)
2023.08.29 14:48 paultiteuf360 Concept for a FNAF SB Sequel (Part 1)
Heya ! I have never played any fnaf game yet, but I do like the universe and I enjoy watching youtubers videos of gameplays.
I have an idea for a potential sequel for fnaf sb and also help wanted part 2. For the moment, I'm gonna call this game "Five Night at Freddys: New Intelligence".
Because help wanted 2 wasn't released yet, this concept is just some fun speculation. Also, I consider the elevator falling ending in RUIN as canon.
Here we go !
CONCEPT:
-fnaf sb took place in a giant commercial center, his time, fnaf NA will take place in... a giant amusement park.
-Of course, there are already several fangames with an amusement park, but having a giant park taking place during the night and playing as a kid could be scary. Also, who wasn't scared of feeling alone in a giant park?
-could be open world, or semi open world, but the map is really big
-DLC can be added
PLACE:
-The park is called FazbearLand
-The park is in good state, and the game will take place when it just closed, similar to fnaf Sb
-The first official fnaf game to take place outside, as the park is surrounded by a wide forest
-Large walls (similar to a castle wall ) surround the whole park, and a drawbridge allow visitors to come and leave until it's closed
-here how it looks like:
https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/eb4eec93-d08e-426d-9007-f564c96d564c/dg78q8v-6bf39cf4-3544-4ab5-8c0e-37995a84ee7a.jpg/v1/fill/w_961,h_832,q_70,strp/6187443b_b0dd_4a4f_8d40_ef7c1b7107ba_by_paultiteuf360_dg78q8v-pre.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9MTEwOCIsInBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcL2ViNGVlYzkzLWQwOGUtNDI2ZC05MDA3LWY1NjRjOTZkNTY0Y1wvZGc3OHE4di02YmYzOWNmNC0zNTQ0LTRhYjUtOGMwZS0zNzk5NWE4NGVlN2EuanBnIiwid2lkdGgiOiI8PTEyODAifV1dLCJhdWQiOlsidXJuOnNlcnZpY2U6aW1hZ2Uub3BlcmF0aW9ucyJdfQ.RkzJeD_UF9hiICKYavg9DYTL0OYph6hfuiP9NzevR10
The park has 5 main domains:
-The Main Square: the equivalent of disneyland 's main street , while it's located right in the middle with 4 long allays going to the east, the west, the south and the north.
The pathways have small entrances on the side to go to the other domains, and they are filled with some classic attractions, shops and arcades. The south one lead to the entrance, and the north one to parts and services
The heart of the park is where a lot of events happens : festivals, animatronic shows, and birthday parties. We can also find services like the security lobby, the nursery or the missing kids daycare.
-RoyalLand: a fantasy domain themed after the medieval period, with knights, princesses and fantastic beasts. It's filled of beautiful gardens, meadows and some forest past, where you could feel like in a disney world
-PirateLand: a pirate themed domain which is like an aquatic area with swimming pools, boats and treasure islands.
-JungleLand: an area with is a large exotic jungle themed after adventure movies (indiana jones like).
-SpaceLand: a space themed area where we can visit planets, check asteroids and meet aliens.
-Of course, the place doesn't look very scary, but some areas within each domain could have a very scary area which could frighten players
ANIMATRONICS
-In this park, the animatronics (especially the main band) are even more advanced in technology
-They can resist fire, water, and have great resistance. They were built by fazbear entertainment to avoid last incidents regarding glamrock chica, montgomery gator and roxanne wolf
-We can easily detach their limbs to replace them in case of issue. It is using magnetism and they can even make their body parts float around them, but just occasionally.
-However, their head is the heart of their technology, and destroying it would prevent the rest of the body to move. They only have one as it would be too expensive for the company to make another one.
-Also, the main band's heads can be switched over, but its useless
-So it's still can be crushed, sensible to high voltage, destroyed by explosion and melted by high temperature
-the main band's silhouette is similar to humans, with the head the same as a human. they are made with a lighter metal were they could move more freely and quicker
-so they are now wearing real clothes they can change whenever they want. the staff still have to make them naked to fix them sometimes
-they are provided with a powerful firewall to prevent being glitched, and listen to orders provided by the staff (go to this place, sing a song...). Their database allow to recognize which voice is good or bad, and the would always listen to the most trustful voice to make any order.
The main band:
-the new generation of freddy's band in Fazland. All of them has an instrument and represent a domain of the park
-they play different kind of music: rock, jazz, classic, rap, and quiet song
-Similar to fnaf sb, they all have their own personality. Their ai is so advanced that some are even able to.... THINK
-they can also provide signatures to kids and even play with them like how a human would do
-The band is composed of old and new faces:
-STREETBOY FREDDY
-A brown and slim version of our leader !
-He is dressed like a streetboy having a pull, a jean with a hall, and a hoodie (he originally had a small hat animatronic on his head, but it has been missing recently). Some people complain due to the lack of hat, which is essential to freddy's design
-He has a skateboard where he would usually roam in Main Square using it. He is such a pro and he is even able to do some badass tricks in less time than a full human life !
-His hands are even containing paint spray and even tags on the wall. He would propose painting activities during birthday parties. However, he mysteriously started to draw weird paintings representing an unseen animatronic.
-His instrument is an electric guitar, but he can also sing with a mike
-he has a cool and youthful personality, and he is the best to know how to make a loud crowd
-his domain is the Main Square
-HIGHSEA FOXY
-A blue, tall, muscled and chad version of Foxy the pirate fox for a better pirate experience to the public !
-She spends a lot of time in her domain RoyalLand: she is the kingdom's princess with many animatronic servants.
She is often busy taking care of the well-being of her kingdom, having more authority in her domain than Fazbear Entertainment ever did. Though, perhaps she is hiding something else...
-Anyway, she still has time to make birthday parties with kids, in her own kingdom with tea parties
Other Animatronics:
-Throughout the park, there are many "guards animatronics" programmed for the park safety
-They are pretty tall and their apparences are similar to the sentinels in the XMEN. Their color and shape vary depending on the domain they roam in.
-When they catch a troublesome kid who isn't strong enough to escape their grasp, they put him in a "punishement area". They can still escape, but we are more exposed to any threat. In case we manage to get out of their grasp, they report us the same way as staff bots did in SB
If you don't press inputs to recover your mind quickly, your character will jump into water and its game over.
SpaceLand:
-Slime Aslime: a big smile like alien animatronic that is stuck on his own spaceship area (not a real spaceship cause fazbear entertainment doesn't have the budget). Somehow greedy, he is able to collect things and make stuff, and he loves eating trash.
One of the kid can make a bargain with him to make him build useful stuff in exchange of trash leftovers. But don't try to make him mad by stealing his food.
-PigPatch: our boy now dressed as a punk spacestar want to seduce Luna with a song despite she doesn't give a shit. One of the characters will have to steal his guitar for Slime, but if pigpatch kills you, he will says a proverb before playing guitar in your game over screen.
JungleLand:
-Orville Elephant is now dressed as a shaman and is as tall as bellamy. He will often roam in JungleLands and his incantations create signals that make the animatronics around act weird.
-Robotic carnivorous plants that are activated by Orville's singings. Don't get to close or you will end up being eaten alive
-Robotic piranhas: there is a river in the domain where these carnivorous fishes were left by employees for a better experience. They were signaled dangerous but because it's hard for the company to retrieve them, they just put danger signs hoping that customers will read them.
-Robotic snakes: if the player ends up walking on something long, he will have a reptilian surprise
-Inca mummies: they are robotic bear-like inca mummies in a particular place of the area. They are very slow and sensible to light, but their scream can stun the player of fear for a few seconds (similar to mummies in zelda oot) and they are many to deal with.
RoyalLand:
-M. Poodle: a white poodle who is princess cathy's majordome. For protecting his highness, he can be menacing towards any intruder in the castle, and would keep stalking the player.
-Froggies: Numerous and small versions of happy Frog who are the loyal servants of the princess. They are initially kind with the player, but if they obey to M. Poodle's orders, they can attack the player in groups.
-Manny Corn: an male animatronic unicorn ( not anthropomorphic) who has Eeyore's personality. He pulls a caravel to transport the player throughout the domain, but he goes slowly and often stops.
The player has to slap his butt to make him move again but if he does it too often, Manny will turn him into corn.
-Witch Baby: a slim yet freaky version of baby dressed as a witch. Living in her own manor, she would stalk children just to scare them when the attraction is opened to the public... But this night, it's closed.
-Endo DRG: a prototype of giant dragon animatronic in construction. Unfinished, he is able to throw flames, and even if he can't fly, he can still crawl like an aligator.
And the main animatronic antagonist of this game is the mimic.
Roaming in a secret base under the park, he tries to get out and uses his mimicking abilities to give orders to the animatronics.
With some metallic junk, he will be also able to create scary spider robots as tall as a cat, who can climb on walls, ceilings, and shoot iron webs to catch the player. It's possible to use a sharp item to free ourselves from the web before getting attacked. More and more will appear throughout the park as the game progresses.
2023.08.26 03:57 Reeseman_19 Trump is one of the most Iconic Presidents ever
Trump is one of the most Iconic Presidents ever
Trump really is one of the most iconic presidents America has ever had. He is a once in a lifetime political figure for many reasons and, whether you love him or hate him, we will never have a president quite like him. He's a MAJOR historical figure. It's hard to put into words just how special Trump was but I will still try.
Trump is the first president to truly be an outsider with no political experience ever. He's this billionaire celebrity with a supermodel wife. Then, when he talked about issues neither party dared touch, and articulate them in a normal, authentic, charismatic, and off-the-cuff manner, he gained the most loyal support base in American history. Trump's supporters truly love him, what other president has had entire stadiums chant "we love you!" to him? This is what populism looks like.
There is also something about the aesthetic of Trump. He just has that it factor. It's the Trump silhouette, the hair, the gesticulation, the orange skin, the hand gestures, the accent, he's really a unique character. Any Republican can become a Ron DeSantis overnight, they just have to be a little more productive. No one on earth can replicate what Trump did.
Trump's presidency was just as charming as he is. From meeting with Kim Jong Un (and seeming to get along well) to trying to buy Greenland. From 3am toilet bowl tweets to regularly fighting partisan media. The image of Trump's foreign policy is acting like a boss and pushing around countries that normally exploit our incompetent leadership to extract benefits.
And think about Trump's 2016 campaign, definitely his best. He called Mexicans were rapists and that he was going to build a wall to keep them out and make them pay for it. While rising star in the GOP talked about how great America was, Trump said that America sucks because its leadership class is the most incompetent class to ever exist, then obliterated all these a list Republicans in the debates. He even blamed 9/11 on George W Bush in a REPUBLICAN PRIMARY! When he debated Hillary he bragged about not paying taxes, dared her to change the tax code, then threatened to imprison her for being a part of the incompetent leadership class. Trump was the only person who could've gotten away with saying any of this.
Trump is also the most persecuted president in US history. They never took his 2016 campaign seriously until it was too late. For the next four years, his enemies made a commitment to defeat him at all costs. The entire media complex scandalized everything Trump did, they said the 2016 election was rigged by the Russians, they impeached him twice, they censored him on all social media, they raided his home, and now they indicted him four times. These attacks on Trump have led to an all time low in institutional trust as the justice system reveals its partisanship.
Now, American politics revolve around Trump. Republicans are most distinguished based on their amount of support for Trump, Democrats have made opposing one man their top priority, and the Republican party has been flipped on its head, and an entire POLITICAL REALIGNMENT materialized from Trump.
Scott Norton interview with Dave Meltzer
Dave Meltzer: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with a true wrestling powerhouse, Scott Norton. Scott, your upcoming match at NWA Allegiance on February 23rd has garnered immense attention. Can you give us some insights into your strategy for taking on Naoya Ogawa and his mystery partner?
Scott Norton: Dave, first of all, thanks for having me. It's always an honor to talk wrestling with someone who knows the business inside out. Now, about NWA Allegiance, you're right, it's a big one. Ogawa's been carrying that NWA World Heavyweight Title around like a badge of honor, and I'll give credit where it's due. But come February 23rd, things are gonna change.
Dave Meltzer: Interesting. So, there's been talk about your decision to bring in your longtime friend and teammate, Don Frye, as your partner for this match. What's the rationale behind this move?
Scott Norton: Don Frye and I go way back, Dave. We've shared more battles and victories than I can count. We're not just friends; we're brothers in arms. Don's got the same intensity and drive that I bring to the ring, and when you're up against someone like Ogawa, you need that kind of unity. We know each other's strengths and weaknesses like the back of our hands. Don's a force to be reckoned with, and together, we're gonna give Ogawa and his mystery partner the fight of their lives.
Dave Meltzer: Speaking of Ogawa, he's been making waves not just in the NWA, but also in Japan. You've had your own history there, particularly with Team 2000. Can you share some insights into your experiences and thoughts on that period?
Scott Norton: Absolutely, Dave. Team 2000 was a turning point in my career. You know, Japan has always been a breeding ground for some of the toughest wrestlers out there. When I teamed up with guys like Masa Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Don Frye, it was like a seismic shift. We were outsiders, but we made our presence known. We dominated Japan, and it was that camaraderie, that unwavering bond that propelled us to greatness. And you better believe, that spirit, that unity, it's gonna be front and center when Don and I step into the ring at Allegiance.
Dave Meltzer: Powerful words, Scott. Now, about Ogawa's mystery partner – any speculations on who it might be?
Scott Norton: (chuckles) Well, Dave, I've seen my fair share of surprises in this business. But whoever Ogawa's got up his sleeve, they better be ready to face the might of Don Frye and me. We're not coming in blind; we're coming in focused, with a strategy to take them down. Whoever it is, they're stepping into the lion's den.
Dave Meltzer: Thank you, Scott. Best of luck at NWA Allegiance. We'll all be watching as you and Don Frye aim to shake things up in the NWA.
Scott Norton: Thanks, Dave. Get ready for an explosive night.
Scott Norton interview with Dave Meltzer
Dave Meltzer: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with a true wrestling powerhouse, Scott Norton. Scott, your upcoming match at NWA Allegiance on February 23rd has garnered immense attention. Can you give us some insights into your strategy for taking on Naoya Ogawa and his mystery partner?
Scott Norton: Dave, first of all, thanks for having me. It's always an honor to talk wrestling with someone who knows the business inside out. Now, about NWA Allegiance, you're right, it's a big one. Ogawa's been carrying that NWA World Heavyweight Title around like a badge of honor, and I'll give credit where it's due. But come February 23rd, things are gonna change.
Dave Meltzer: Interesting. So, there's been talk about your decision to bring in your longtime friend and teammate, Don Frye, as your partner for this match. What's the rationale behind this move?
Scott Norton: Don Frye and I go way back, Dave. We've shared more battles and victories than I can count. We're not just friends; we're brothers in arms. Don's got the same intensity and drive that I bring to the ring, and when you're up against someone like Ogawa, you need that kind of unity. We know each other's strengths and weaknesses like the back of our hands. Don's a force to be reckoned with, and together, we're gonna give Ogawa and his mystery partner the fight of their lives.
Dave Meltzer: Speaking of Ogawa, he's been making waves not just in the NWA, but also in Japan. You've had your own history there, particularly with Team 2000. Can you share some insights into your experiences and thoughts on that period?
Scott Norton: Absolutely, Dave. Team 2000 was a turning point in my career. You know, Japan has always been a breeding ground for some of the toughest wrestlers out there. When I teamed up with guys like Masa Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Don Frye, it was like a seismic shift. We were outsiders, but we made our presence known. We dominated Japan, and it was that camaraderie, that unwavering bond that propelled us to greatness. And you better believe, that spirit, that unity, it's gonna be front and center when Don and I step into the ring at Allegiance.
Dave Meltzer: Powerful words, Scott. Now, about Ogawa's mystery partner – any speculations on who it might be?
Scott Norton: (chuckles) Well, Dave, I've seen my fair share of surprises in this business. But whoever Ogawa's got up his sleeve, they better be ready to face the might of Don Frye and me. We're not coming in blind; we're coming in focused, with a strategy to take them down. Whoever it is, they're stepping into the lion's den.
Dave Meltzer: Thank you, Scott. Best of luck at NWA Allegiance. We'll all be watching as you and Don Frye aim to shake things up in the NWA.
Scott Norton: Thanks, Dave. Get ready for an explosive night.
2023.06.29 11:10 Proctor_Conley Test: Weapon Lore Post
The Devs have added lore descriptions of the weapons & they did great; Thank You Folks!
(Note: replace with compliments regarding clarity & follow with explanation of why 1 & 2 come before lore.)
–—:Structure: * 1) Weapon fire method, classification, & damage type. * 2) Design & Usage info. * 3) Development & History info. * 4) Cultural info.
1 & 2 come first to help new players understand the weapon while 3 & 4 allow for an in-universe understanding of the weapons' contextual significance within the narrative. I'll use the Mozambique as my example.
(Note: Use lore to reference how players used weapons in Tf1 & 2 if noteworthy.)
–—:Unedited:
"In the wake of the mass Frontier migration into the Outlands, regional conflicts and land-grabs created a demand for inexpensive firearms. The Mozambique Shotgun (named for an execution technique with a similar, triangular spread) served that function for Pilots in the Frontier War and a new model was soon being mass-produced for civilian use. The result is a firearm with a small magazine and minimal stopping power - while useful for self-defense, a standard Mozambique will require modifications (or a lot of luck) to be useful in a real fight."
–—:Edited: * 1) Shotgun Pistol firing a 3-shot triangular-spread of Incendiary ammunition. * 2) Minimal stopping power & small magazine might defend homesteads but this weapon requires extensive modification for effective battlefield usage. * 3) The Frontier War Refugee Crisis sparked regional conflicts and land-grabs across the Outlands with this improvised, masse produced, inexpensive weapon made from local resources coming to represent unaccountable ambition. * 4) Named after the brutality of mercenaries on civilians, the Mozambique is the preferred sidearm of all Frontier Outlaws looking to keep terror alive in the hearts of those who have seen the hegemonic IMC collapse.
Same Platforms:
Note: weapons are not always referred to by their actual names. Only weapons used in the Mercenary Syndicate Apex Games (or their predecessors) are listed.
Known Ammunition:
Note: ammunition has different "Loads", different amounts of propellants. Higher pressure loads heat weapons faster & cause greater strain on the platforms' components.
Unknown Ammunitions:
Note: increased barrel length is associated with increased accuracy & ballistic performance while decreasing muzzle flash, the users' ability to shoulder the weapon, & the users' ability to maneuver. Preferred by marksmen.
Decreased barrel length is associated with decreased accuracy & ballistic performance while increasing muzzle flash, the users' ability to shoulder the weapon, & the users' ability to maneuver. Preferred by everyone else.
–—:Hemlok:
The Hemlok Burst AR is a heavy burst-fire assault rifle based on the Hemlok BF-R, a weapon designed exclusively for IMC ground troops. Lastimosa Armory was commissioned by the IMC to create a weapon with a stronger punch than the R-101, so it could more effectively puncture standard-issue body armor. During the Frontier War, direct sale to the public was prohibited, but its updated model is commonplace in the Outlands –—:Notes: –—:Edit: Assault Rifle with 3-round burst & semiautomatic fire modes using conventional ammunition. Hard hitting & accurate burst weapon ideal for hit-&-fade tactics over range. Replacing the M600 Spitfire based Hemlok BF-R designed to counter Autonomous Infantry during the Titan Wars, this modernization improves survival of IMC Grunts by improving urban maneuverability when compared to the beloved G-series Scout Rifle. Centuries of war between human & machine yet this weapon has only recently seen competition.
–—:Prowler PDW:
Designed for personal defense, the Prowler Burst PDW was an essential firearm for Pilots whose Titans were compromised during battle. Its compact shape gives it the punch of an assault rifle at a much smaller size, and its burst-action design allows the operator to lay down significant cover-fire - this was particularly helpful for Pilots ejecting from their Titans. It can also be upgraded to a full-auto mode that allows the operator to put heavy fire down-range with the effective accuracy of an assault rifle. –—:Edit: Experimental Compact weapon firing 5-round Bursts (or occasionally a Fully Automatic mode) using conventional ammunition. Designed for the "hit-&-fade" tactics used by the rapid, vehicle-deployed infantry sent into dense urban conflict zones. IMC compact carbine prototyped before the Frontier War as a snag-free replacement of the ancient R-97 CN & to compliment the Hemlok. Militia Raiders targeted IMC R&D facilities through the Frontier War & the Prowler PDW has only recently resumed testing in the Syndicate organized Apex Games. Be careful of your fingers!
–—:Alternator:
The Alternator is famous for its accuracy; featuring twin barrels that alternate fire from a single magazine, it suffers less of the barrel-wear that reduces accuracy in other firearms. However, its patented receiver and barrel assembly ensured it could only be manufactured by Burrell Industries, hampering widespread adoption during the Frontier War. After Burrell's collapse following the Blackout, the design was reverse-engineered by surviving competitors, and current models have reached nearly the same level of sophistication.
–—:R-99:
The original R-97CN is intrinsically linked with orbital boarding; it was designed to provide heavy fire in confined, low-gravity spaces, essential for the Colonial Navy (the military arm of the Interstellar Colonial Authority) during boarding missions in high orbit. When former members of the Colonial Navy went freelance and ultimately joined the Mercenary Syndicate, the R-97CN was still so beloved that the organization commissioned a new model. Now the virtually indistinguishable R-99 is a common sight throughout the Outlands. –—:Edit: Ancient weapon predating colonization of the Frontier produced on Earth for Colonial Navy Usage Only. Times changed & this carbine was exported a
–—:CAR-101:
The C.A.R. SMG was developed by Lastimosa Armory to leverage the existing success of the company's R-101 platform. A smaller barrel, lighter alloys, and other weight reductions improve the weapon's handling, while smaller ammunition affords low recoil and a higher rate of fire. Traditionally, weapons with a high rate of fire tend to jam when used for extended durations - to remove this limitation, the R&D team at Lastimosa Armory created a "shoot by wire" system where the trigger is linked to the firing mechanism via an internal CPU. This system can detect overheat conditions, adjust rate of fire, and clear jams without operator intervention - often faster than the operator can realize a jam has occurred. –—:edit: Longbow-101 & CAR-101 programs
–—:Volt:
The first energy-based SMG to see regular use in the Frontier, the Volt allows its operator to fire a salvo of energy-based ammunition, decreasing drag and making it possible to hit multiple targets within a short window. In the early days of Frontier exploration, expeditions were often waylaid by dense populations of local wildlife. Progress ground to a halt as settlers were ill-equipped to protect themselves in unfamiliar terrain. The IMC commissioned the Volt, which could be used quickly and effectively at multiple distances, reducing casualties from local fauna and jumpstarting excursions into untouched territory. –—:edit: Exotic, High Energy doped ammo The Frontier War cut-off Earth manufactured conventional ballistic weapons & ammunition causing entire star systems to be consumed for resources. Made of exotic materials to specifically to withstand prolonged extreme heat, electromagnetic radiation, & gravitational anomaly generated by the conventional ammunition laced with "Shock Rock". Mostly issued to autonomous Infantry due to the sever burns caused by sustained usage. This weapon is the emblematic of the wasteful consumerism that caused the Outlands Energy Crisis.
–—:L-STAR:
The L-STAR is most accurately described as an automatic superheated plasma thrower. It fires large, combustible plasma projectiles, propelled from an internal superheating chamber. A special lens focuses the projectile, and uninterrupted fire can cause this lens to overheat and shatter. "Feathering" the trigger is ideal, as it keeps the lens at a stable temperature while allowing continuous, personnel-suppressing bombardments. –—:Edit: Fully automatic LMG firing High Energy incendiary bolts of plasma. Designed for use by autonomous Infantry against organic targets. Uses laser-activated plasma bolts to cause catastrophic rupture of targets. Misuse & abuse can cause the laser lenses to crack or rechargeable battery cell to detonate. Users are bold, brave, & never captured alive by their enemy.
–—:Rampage:
It's like Ramya "Rampart" Parekh says: when you rise from the ashes of everything you've built, don't get mad - get heated. The Rampage LMG is the first gun she modded after a rival gang known as The Sisters burnt down her shop. Taking the M600 Spitfire as a base, it features a unique intake that can be loaded with a thermite canister to amp its fire rate. Inserting a thermite and overloading the firing mechanisms allows the user to deliver powerful shots (a distinct advantage over the base Spitfire) while increasing rate of fire for a set period of time. You could say it brings the heat. –—edit: Weapon foreign to the outlands. Make into a joke. Thermite canister used make each round incendiary.
–—:Devotion:
The Devotion demands something different from its handler than most weapons: commitment. A cyclical, energy-assisted firing action increases its rate of fire the longer its trigger is held. This added "spin-up" time can make the Devotion a risky choice in heated situations. However, upgrading it with a Turbocharger hop-up decreases its spin-up significantly and makes the fealty worthwile. –—:Edit: Fuck off.
–—:M600 Spitfire:
The Spitfire has seen a great resurgence in the years since the Frontier War. Once an essential squad-support weapon, the advent of Titan warfare saw its role diminish, as it could neither pierce a Titan's armor or effectively track fast-moving Pilots. However, when regional conflicts escalated in the early years of the Outlands, the Spitfire was rediscovered and prized for providing consistently accurate, uninterrupted fire. –—:Edit: Human-portable machine guns have been the most direct method to counter massed infantry since their invention. Designed to counter Autonomous Infantry during the Titan Wars & unchanged for centuries, this ancient LMG has served loyally alongside the G-series Scout Rifle & Hemlok BF-R to defend humans against the merciless hoards of Autonomous Infantry. Be it Drones, Ticks, Specters, Stalkers, Reapers or even certain Titans this machine will give you a fighting chance at survival.
–—:Mozambique:
In the wake of the mass Frontier migration into the Outlands, regional conflicts and land-grabs created a demand for inexpensive firearms. The Mozambique Shotgun (named for an execution technique with a similar, triangular spread) served that function for Pilots in the Frontier War and a new model was soon being mass-produced for civilian use. The result is a firearm with a small magazine and minimal stopping power - while useful for self-defense, a standard Mozambique will require modifications (or a lot of luck) to be useful in a real fight. –—:Edit:
–—:EVA-8:
With the kick of a shotgun but also a higher fire rate than the competition, the EVA-8 is an asset in close-quarters engagements against multiple or highly mobile targets. The EVA-8 was a mainstay during the Frontier War, where one was bound to make an appearance in almost all Pilot-to-Pilot engagements. However, the EVA-8 is also useful for civilians and ground troops, due to the forgiving nature of its firing pattern compared to other shotguns. –—:Edit: Ancient IMC shotgun for extra vehicular activity. Drum magazine??
–—:Mastiff:
Originally designed as an anti-Pilot shotgun for ground troops, the Mastiff is a powerhouse against even the toughest adversaries. Each Mastiff shell separates into "microslugs" when fired, spreading in a predictable and deadly horizontal pattern. Given the intricate nature of its design, the cost and time associated with creating a Mastiff makes it a rare but prized firearm. –—:Edits: Retcon. Frontier Outlaw mod to ancient colonial shotguns that improve performance during extra vehicular activity.
–—:Peacekeeper:
As manufacturing became more commonplace with IMC expansion, the need to guard IMC factories and plants against outlaws increased. However, many ballistic firearms could not be used in these facilities due to the volatile materials involved in industrial production. The IMC turned to Lastimosa Armory for a solution, and the energy-based Peacekeeper was born. Slow and heavy-hitting, the Peacekeeper requires few charges to put down a target at close range. –—:Edit: High Energy. Multi-barrel magnetic acceleration weapon firing "Shock Rock" laced ferromagnetic magnetic pellets. Developed by ARES Division on the Frontier in fear of the rogue IMC Remnant Fleet raiding their facilities. Recoil is infamous for shattering bone & mortally wounding operators
–—:Charge Rifle:
This portable beam cannon was originally designed to take down Titans in the field, so imagine what it can do to a human. The Charge Rifle's signature orange beam starts charging on trigger-pull and fires automatically when fully charged. This unique firing cadence makes accuracy essential - a poorly aimed shot will leave the operator vulnerable to return fire. A shot that lands, however, can finish the fight before it starts. –—:Edit: High Energy. Retcon into repurposed industrial laser. Syndicate uses bad & reloads. High Energy industrial laser repurposed against IMC Titans by desperate insurrectionists during the Titan Wars.
–—:RE-45:
The original AP15 Auto Pistol was manufactured by Lastimosa Armory and was favored by Pilots for its reliability, accuracy and high rate of fire. It was so renowned for its effectiveness that when the RE-45 Auto pistol (which is virtually identical to the AP15, excluding muzzle construction) was first released by Paradinha Arsenal, many believed it was a new model from Lastimosa. The RE-45 has now permeated the Outlands as demand increased for the famous "Pilot" weapon. –—:Edit: Compact, fully-automatic autopistol. The Autopistol is a high performance off-brand Frontier clone of the popular IMC AP-15. Outbreak of the Frontier War saw the beloved RE-45 replaced by the next-gen AP-15 & modified to mitigate overheating from sustained fire without suffering catastrophic failure. While clones are popular all are referred to by the name of that legendary handgun. Say its' name & live without fear.
Edit: damn. Seems Reddit is still quite glitchy. I will edit this further.
2023.06.15 22:42 Masaike123 Very disappointed with brooks borhter's quality
I have been a loyal customer of Brooks Brothers (BB) for more than a decade. However, I have recently encountered an issue with my BB shirts. When I stretch a bit, the fabric tears at the left elbow. These particular shirts were purchased approximately 1.5 years ago, back in late 2021.
To my dismay, I have experienced this tearing problem with four shirts, all at the exact same spot. I have already discarded three of them, and today I faced the same issue with the fourth shirt while at my office. Consequently, I decided to reach out to BB's customer service through their website's chat box.
The customer service agent informed me that their shirts are only covered by a one-year warranty, and anything beyond that is not eligible for repairs or replacements. Furthermore, I don't even have the receipt to prove the purchase date, as it is not common to keep receipts for such a long time.
I am greatly disappointed with this response. Could you please provide me with advice on alternative options? I did attempt to try Charles Tyrwhitt, but unfortunately, their sizes do not fit me well.
2023.06.02 22:18 Jaxon279 Just because we dislike these new bb changes doesn't mean we don't support crytek.
It’s unfair to assume that we don’t want to support the game just because we are unhappy with the removal of blood bonds as rewards for earning accolades. We are not asking for free premium currency. I have been a loyal fan of this game for over 1000 hours, buying it at full price and purchasing 15 DLC packs along the way. I have spent more than 100 dollars on this game and never regretted it, which is why I love this game and choose it over other GaaS games. My issue with these changes is not that they are taking away a free source of blood bonds, but that they are eliminating the incentive for doing well in matches. Right now, when I have a challenging match where I get many kills, banish the boss but fail to extract, I still get some blood bonds to show that I performed well in that match. With these new changes that will be gone, and I personally will just feel like shit, that small reward was enough to keep me interested in loading back into the bayou, instead of just calling it a day. Some people think that we are against this change because we only care about skins, not the core gameplay loop. But they don’t realize that most of us have invested so many hours in this game, we have completed everything that counts as progress. We have prestiged, unlocked every weapon variant, finished every questline, done trials, reached a high MMR rating, gotten all the achievements. What else is there to do? It’s great if you can enjoy the game without needing to earn skins, but for some of us, it’s one of the main systems that shows we have made some progress in this game.
once again, we all want this game to continue, to keep getting amazing events like the upcoming tides of the shadows. And there are already great ways to support the game, with the dlc skins that can only be bought with money that you should always buy from their site. they also have a shop where you can buy merch for the game you love. You want to limit the amount of bbs we can earn for free? fine but don't do it like this, don't force us to complete challenges that drastically change the way we normally play, that just makes us get burnt out from playing the game. Keep it so we are rewarded for doing good in a match, because idk this might be a crazy take, but i like being rewarded when i do good in something.
