I have sort of a really vague idea I've been pondering about, so hear me out if you have time.
Quite often through my work I see children of various ages, personalities etc. Some really shine - they're smart, quite witty, not afraid to talk to me as a stranger. They study well, participate in all sorts of extracurriculars, eat well, are healthy etc. And then there are others who are polar opposites, problems with the law, trouble at home or school, overweight, constantly stay indoors with no friends. And of course kids who are inbetween. Then of course we see statistics of how teenagers start drugs and crime ever earlier or become lazy and overweight in ever larger numbers, becoming demotivated, agressive, having difficulties studying, short attention spans, idealizing ignorance and getting lot of mental health issues along the way.
Obviously I'd like my kid to also be like these high-achievers as she grows up and not to succumb to unhealthy, unproductive lifestyles that in the long run would make them depressed.. who wouldn't?
Also obviously a lot of the behaviours and habits are affected by the family, most importantly the parents. I don't have details about what the parents of these children really do but I can see how they interact with their children. The parents of the children who seem to do well usually talk to them asking their opinion, explaining things and seldom ask their children to "behave" in front of me...then again some timid children often have parents who talk to me without allowing the child to talk, or contrarily quite strictly order them to speak up or constantly tell them not to do this or that etc.
So now being a parent to a less than a year-old who is getting past the baby phase, I've been starting to reflect and think about what I should start to do next.
With the chaos of a newborn, my lifestyle and also that of my partner became quite unhealthy and uproductive. I was never a shining example of virtous work, however when I was in my 20-s, I was quite a fan of self-improvement and productivity things. I would eat healthy, avoid any sugar-drinks, run 10km, study and learn outside university stuff, I could speak 5 languages at my peak, had a healthy sleep schedule, read books and was not bogged down by mindless scrolling or binging games or shows.
Now it's kind of the opposite and I've forgotten it all. I've gained some weight, although I do take walks I'm still significantly less active, I spend a lot of free time I get (which is not much, but also not non-existent with the baby) gaming or mindlessly consuming entertainment, I don't have any hobbies that would bring me long-term enjoyment, we don't go out to places as a family much, and I'm not able to read books or "think deep". Luckily family life is great, I and my parter are on the same page about how to raise a child, there's no yelling or things like that and we both take turns doing chores and watching the baby.
I know if I want my child to grow up to be successful, the change has to come firstly from me (as opposed to me ordering the child to do stuff while I'm continuing to be lazy). And this is where I run into a mental block. I think I grasp the idea behind getting more active and becoming more physically healthy - that's just something simple you just "gotta do". What I don't know is how I could become a more knowledgable person who is able to think critically and carry that over to my child as she grows up? When I think of an ideal world, then obviously I should start "learning" the things I want to teach my child but that is maybe an overkill or wishful thinking considering I have other stuff to do as well. And how do you even develop critical thinking skills in the first place? I feel like with all information that's available after a quick google-search my mind just doesn't have anything to regurgitate by heart... I always need to open the phone or a browser in the computer.
A fond childhood memory I have is when I was riding a bike with my father and he told me about the history of the second world war in a manner that I understood. He also talked to me about different philosophies like stoicism and so on. I feel like I'd like to be able to explain things to my kid when she grows up but currently I'd have to tell her "wait, I'll google", grab my phone and read about it and then be able to explain. Because I do know about a lot of things, but need a refresher about everything essentially. And I don't think that grabbing for a phone is a good example for a toddler, child, teenager...
tl;dr - How to become a better parent and setting your child up for success by setting an example yourself? How to develop a newfound interest to the world, how to be able to explain things to the child without needing the phone to google stuff and any other tips like that? How to make sure your child grows up interested in the world, eager to learn, to strive the be better, be healthy and so on without using "force" or causing mental trauma in the process

I (26F) am a therapist myself and I think my now ex (25M) has BPD. We have been dating for 1.5 years. We were friends 6 years ago but he ghosted me for no apparent reason and 5 years later he came back, told me he ghosted me because somehow I was damaging his mental health (?), he said he only loved me and never forgot me and we started to date. He wanted a break-up 3 times during relationship (excluding last one) but we always made peace, our relationship seemed going well and we were about to get engaged but last week he dumped me out of blue and left no word for me to speak and blocked me everywhere. I want to list both of his and mine traits so I can get some insight and decide if it's worth to fight to get him back.
For me: I know I made mistakes through our relationship, usually I am a cold person and have trouble to express my genuine emotions and affection because of my trust issues, I was severely traumatized by my narcissistic ex both psychologically and sexually but I am actively working on it for the past 3 years and I made a huge progress. He was the first person who I did let him in inside my walls and allowed myself to be vulnerable, I shared very personal stuff with him and this made us bond stronger, or I thought so. I usually say what I think instantly, sometimes this offends my partner, I used to dismiss it like "why did you get offended over this", but I am trying to be more like "I am sorry this made you feel this way, I care and love you". Beside my relationship, last 1 year was really hard for me and I got depressed. When I learned my depressive and pessmistic behaviors are affecting him negatively, I instantly started to take therapy to be a better person and better partner for him.
For him: - He never tells what he thinks/feels until the very last moment, he ruminates then explodes like a volcano, these are the times when he wants to break-up. - He usually listens, but rarely talks about himself. He knows everything about me, but I don't know about him as much as he knows about me, he says he doesn't remember his childhood etc. Because of this I am having hard time to understand what he thinks or feels. - Generally he is very supportive but he has very low stress tolerance, he tends to escape when things get hard for him, he doesn't choose to fight. - When he explodes he says very, very heartbreaking stuff which mades him feel guilty afterwards. - He has binge eating disorder with history of obesity and nicotine addiction, smoking is so bad for his health because he has asthma, he has very low regard for his physical health. I made him quit smoking and start vaping. That was the most I can do. I tried to convince him to seek therapy for his eating disorder too but he brushed it off everytime. - He has no friends nor any particular hobbies besides reading manga and gaming, he doesn't search for or question meaning in life thus he isn't very intellectual too, he is religious but he never thinks about it because he is afraid that if he thinks he won't believe it anymore. He tends to cut off people immediately even if he loved them very much. His past relationships lasted like 2-3 months because he can't bother. He even cuts off things like video games, he says things like "this game is amazing, I have great time" and tomorrow he deletes it for no reason, then downloads it again in a week. - He grew up in safe bubble of his family, he doesn't have any outside communication besides work. - He has attention problems, he can't finish/complete projects. He relies on talent rather than effort. He only works because it's his father's job and it's easy and comfortable for him. He gets hyped about things easily then loses interest with the same speed. He plans things like "I'm gonna do this, do that" but it almost never happens. - Whenever we argue, he gives me silent treatment. I believe we can solve our problems with talking and arguing but he becomes a wall during these moments. It's close to impossible to have a constructive argument. He says arguing makes him feel disappointed on relationship so he prefers to go silent until our frustrated emotions go away and act like it never happened which I am highly opposed to. - He believes not everything can be solved with communication/therapy and "it is what it is" - Our sex life is kind of vanilla and he doesn't share much even if he has kinks even though I am not judgemental, he focuses on pleasuring me during these intimate moments. - He is extremely jealous, he gets very frustrated whenever he thinks I had someone before him, he even gets jealous of a thought of highschool long distance boyfriend who I never seen irl. He wanted a break-up because there are some photos of me in instagram where my upper thighs and cleavage shows (I am a busty person). I am a cosplayer and these photos are cosplay pics, I don't seek attention from other males, I just like to express my hobby. In his mind he expected me to delete these for 7 months but I didn't delete them, I didn't know they were bothering him that much and he wanted a break-up blaming me "how you can't think about this you are very selfish" etc. This pics were taken way before our relationship started btw. I didn't want to delete pics because I perceived as someone is trying to possess me but at the end I deleted them for my relationship. - In our last break-up last week, he told me he sees happy couples but he is not happy like them (mind that we are long distance for 3 months now because of my mom's health issues I had to travel and he barely had time for me in this period, before that he was really happy and was saying our relationship got stronger. Oh and 1 week before the break-up he was saying I am the love and meaning of his life and he can't wait to get married) and he doesn't love me anymore, he has right to be selfish when he is choosing his bride and hungs up, blocks me literally everywhere. After the family drama, when we are having our last conversation, he cries on phone and tells me he loves me so much, he only loved me but he is too tired now. This is erratic as fuck.

Hi, first time poster. This game's overall documentation is pathetically out of date on virtually every wiki I've read, to the point that it feels like I have to do about 10 minutes of research per [thing I do not understand]. This has lead me to gradually working through what I can only describe as the thing that has killed the game outright for me: the slog of Act 2 is miserable.
Why is Thick Leather locked behind a boss fight WAY past even getting Glass!? I ask this as the first of many questions that begin and end often with the answer being "it changed for some reason", and that's not in a lot of the guides that are littering the internet. Manually filtering every single guide by date is not particularly fun, and V-rising is grindy enough as it is without having so many stupid progress gates. Was the game designed to be only played by a party of 4+? I ask this genuinely.
An answer there would help me greatly in understanding just what the hell the balance team was thinking here. In addition, I'm curious as to why it seems the game has absolutely no answer for if you are struggling beyond "go into the launch settings and set it to easy mode". There's grind like getting your garden going and having all of the little base build mechanics cooperating, but then there's some frankly disgustingly misplaced tech unlocks like making it impossible to upgrade your gear at level 47.
I mean IMPOSSIBLE. You can't do it. The progress tree past the Hollowfang armor set abruptly demands Thick Leather does not drop in the zones I can explore without healing every 8 meters. I had to look it up and found a steam forum post indicating that randomly, the tech unlock is behind some big werewolf up in the mountains. Did consideration for the flow of the game and its base building just abruptly stop when they first pulled this gag with the Gravekeeper Ring? It's the same problem of locking a singular item behind a boss fight without much of a reason as to why.
If the game is going to be designed around a Gear Score System and have such minimal incremental character specializations for its variant gear types (a grand total attack speed bonus of 8% at level 44, what a treat), why is there not more gear variance? Is this fixed by the DLC? Should I just be launching the game in Level 70 mode and skipping all of the progression systems because it was not designed for me to play it from the start? Before someone jumps in with the usual wave of git-guds or grind more, I want to highlight that this progress gate is killing my three-person run with some pals in a similar manner.
Something is off here, like the planning for the game's tech and gear was so rigid that there literally are single-option progress paths well past the point that the game should be behaving that way. This is a game with base building and gathecrafting elements, it shouldn't be locking tech I need to get my number higher so I can beat the guy who is holding the keys. I'm frustrated beyond the pale here, it feels like every escalation from Garlic to Silver to the fact that I can't trade with the vendor villagers (Am I missing a disguise option? Guess I'll research that TOO for further disappointment) to the game's defaults of miserable corpse running and no-fun-allowed teleport blocking is built to waste time.
That's how it feels. The game is wasting my time. I'm to amass a stockpile of pants and gloves based on the (3) cotton seeds that have bothered to drop so I can volume-of-attempts my way through a miserable boss fight. I don't have any more than 3 cotton seeds because Garlic makes me so miserable that even the potions that can help you resist it do borderline nothing, turning every cotton-gathering exercise into absolute tedium. The game was so much more fun in Act 1 because for a second there, it felt like if I was up against the progress wall, I could just smack some bandits for paper and books and get a gearset or new weapon unlocked. At this juncture, it feels like someone forgot to add options of play and built a gear-focused game without any freaking gear.
Why build it this way? How the hell was someone supposed to "PVP" with this kind of existing framework??? I can't help but feel the design document for this game became an absolute cluster of "we'll add more later", because in its current state, it feels like entire chunks of the progression are flat-out missing.

The first concept of NFTs came with ERC-721 which was an amazing breakthrough but has limitations.
RMRK saw that and developed new standards that work as building blocks that can be combined and thus increase exponentially the ability to be creative and interact with NFTs in many different ways. Including backwards compatibility with ERC-721.
One example, with ERC-7508 - Dynamic Attributes on Chain:
  • Dynamic State Tracking. The attributes can be used to track the state of the token and its owner. This allows for the token to be used in a variety of use cases. One such use case is supply chains; the token can represent a product and its attributes can be used to track the state of the product as it transitions from pending, shipped, delivered, etc.
  • Cross-Collection Interactivity Storing attributes on-chain in a predictable format allows for cross-collection interactivity. This means that the attributes of a token can be used by any external smart contract without the need for the token to be aware of the external smart contract. For example, a token can represent a game character with its set of attributes and can be used in an unrelated game with the same stats without the need for retrieving these attributes from an off-chain source. This ensures that the data the game is using is legitimate and not tampered with in order to gain an advantage.
  • Perpetual Store of Attributes Standardized on-chain token attributes allow for their perpetual storage. With off-chain attributes storage, the attributes are only available as long as the off-chain storage is available. If the storage is taken down, the attributes are lost. With on-chain attributes storage, the attributes are available as long as the blockchain is available. This increases the value of the token as it ensures that the attributes are available for as long as the token exists.
  • Token Evolution On-Chain storage of token attributes allows for the token to evolve over time. Owner’s actions can impact the attributes of the token. Since the attributes are stored on chain, the smart contract has the ability to modify the attribute once certain thresholds are met. This allows for token to become more interactive and reflect owner’s dedication and effort.

I reached out to my ex yesterday basically to check in on him and his therapy that he just started. I see a different man from the last few months and I was happy for him. He has been working on himself!
We just had a low key FaceTime conversation and we’re still stoked to see eachother. It was nice. No expectations.
Then we moved to text and he turned things sexual asking for naked pics and how many men I been with since we split. He said he wanted to have sex with me this weekend.
Then everything turned heavy - because it led up to the topic of a sexual issue that is going to be a big compromise on my part. He said his therapist was encouraging him to explore this dynamic “with someone he trusts”- I guess that’s me
I could not sleep, and was thinking and journaling through this issue that we had before and how we could solve it. I never thought our relationship was ready for this so I resisted. He can’t explain to me why he needs this kink. Don’t get me wrong - I’d love to explore it. But I want to understand what need is to be met
Today, I asked for a discussion about this with boundaries (assuming I’ll see him over the weekend)
He said he wanted to talk his therapist first.
So now I am a bit disappointed - I don’t want to have sex with him (damnit I do!!!!!) without progress on our issues
I also told him of my previous experience and how it turned out badly for various reasons - a lesson learnt thing you know.
He reiterated that the he is not ready for a relationship and he is working on these things and acknowledged some of his issues. And he shared a poem that he wrote with me.
I sent him the “what if” poem I wrote and posted.
The chemistry between us was incredible and lighthearted until he got heavy about sex and the conversation felt forced after that because I was not ready to tell him. But I also never have lied to or kept things from him
So now I will go NC again. For another 3-4 weeks so he can continue with his therapy. I asked him to reach out when he has processed his next therapy session which is in two weeks.
Hopefully I won’t want to block him again because waiting for him to reach out leads to me checking my phone all the time and my anxiety goes through the roof.
OH and get this - he didn’t even know he was blocked !

I did hookup laat Monday (11th) completely NSA with the former sneaky link. The guy before this current ex. It was a lovely dinner date (Go Mavs and Stars) and the best hookup we ever had, like he appreciated me so much more and “saw me”. It was so so nice to feel wanted. My company and my body. I just went back to the my safe place when we were together.
My ex hasn’t touched me since October. He stopped complimenting me. he spend his time totally focused on gaming with his friend and watching anime. We lost our sexual connection completely, never went on dates. It was just him playing video games and me waiting for him to finish to spend the last few minutes of the day together lying down waiting to fall asleep.

For the 2024/25 season, there will be a new Family Area located in blocks 28-30 available to juniors (supporters aged 16 and under) and their family groups. Seasonal and match tickets will be located in this area which will host family friendly initiatives for supporters to enjoy. As detailed below, there will also be GA-wide concessions for juniors on season tickets and up to 2,000 match tickets per game. Discounted match tickets can be accessed via the Red and Silver ballots and there will no longer be a separate Family Enclosure ballot.
Existing senior season ticket holders will continue to receive a 57% discount and there will be a limited number of discounted season tickets available to eligible senior season ticket holders (aged 66+) who wish to move into the new Family Area. Requests will be managed on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to availability. This will remain under review and, as communicated below, a limited number of match by match tickets will also be made available to seniors – these will be available GA-wide and accessed via the Red or Silver ballot at a 25% discount.

2024.05.23 10:15 Otherwise_Appeal7765 We know it is bad when players ask mid-battle "wait, why are we even fighting?" But how bad is it truly when even the DM is asking "wait, why are YOU GUYS even fighting?"

I have been DMing for a long time, and one piece of advice I learned is that when a player asks mid-combat, "why are we even fighting?", it means you are messing up. But when the DM also asks, "why are you even fighting?", would it even be feasible to fix the campaign at that point?
Last session, my players and I became very confused mid-battle about why and who the players should be fighting. I am currently running two simultaneous campaigns in the same place, at the same time, in the same universe, for two completely different groups of players. The idea was that whatever a group did, the other group would also see its effects in the following session.
In my game, I am running a political crisis with a lot of orders, cults, motivations, countries, and politics. To summarize, the nations of Cormyr and Sembia hate each other, and there are delegations from both countries attending a tournament and a feast in a neutral city called Highcastle. Some of the Highcastle council members are cultists who want to start a war between the two countries.
So, the first campaign group goes into Highcastle, investigates and questions people, and finds out the council members' plot to assassinate both delegations and blame them on each other to start a war. As the players were exploring, one of them tells a very smart character from the Cormyrian delegation that there is an assassination plot on the Sembian delegation.
Too bad for the players, this character is extremely smart. He starts thinking, "Why is there an assassination attempt on the Sembians? Are they trying to blame it on Cormyr? Are they lying to distract us and then actually kill us, the Cormyrians? Are they actually trying to kill both delegations? Heck, who are even 'they'?"
So this character starts investigating. Through the night, he investigates all of his Cormyrian men and finds out that none of them have any intention of assassinating the Sembians behind his back. And now starts the second day, with the second group of players just arriving at Highcastle:
The second group of players is contacted by a single Sembian knight who is quite rich. He secretly contacts the second group and tells them that he will pay them to kill the Cormyrian delegation. The players agree, and as they are scouting the Cormyrian guest quarters to plant traps, they find a room where the smart Cormyrian character from the first group has tied up and knocked out five Highcastle servants. He is questioning them about their knowledge of any assassination plots planned by a Highcastle member. The players interrupt him and tell him of the plot planned by the Sembians to kill the Cormyrian delegation. The smart NPC is so flustered that he thanks them and immediately runs out to plan a defense for his delegation and start scouting the Sembians.
The players, now in control of the hostages, find one of them awake, so they decide to kill this one Highcastle servant hostage and also cut off their arm (for limb transplant or something). They let the other servants go free and then leave the city quickly. The servants immediately inform the Highcastle guards about their friend who was killed and had his arm cut off. The Highcastle guards start blocking off all exits from the guest quarters so all Cormyrians and Sembians are questioned and the true perpetrators are found. At the same time, a few guards leave the city to search for the party.
The party manages to find the guards searching for them, and through disguises, find out that the guards are looking to arrest them, so they return to the city. As they are returning, in the guest quarters, more and more heavily armed Highcastle guards start entering the guest quarters. The smart character starts panicking, thinking this will be a Red Wedding or something. So on a roll of the dice, he decides to take the initiative and starts casting spells on all the Highcastle guards and council members, killing a good number of them. In the confusion, the Highcastle guards start arresting everyone, Sembian or Cormyrian, so the Sembians also start fighting back, and suddenly, the two enemy nations are fighting side-by-side.
The players find the fire erupting from the guest quarters due to all the fight and fire spells, so they decide to sneak in, and they immediately fire at the "smart" NPC character inside. He starts firing back at them. They then enter and see the Sembian knight that gave them the initial mission fighting alongside the "smart" NPC. Suddenly, half the players start attacking both the Cormyrians and Sembians due to "the friend of my enemy is my enemy." And the other half start attacking the Highcastle guards because "that Sembian guy was cool, he is our friend, so the enemy of my friend is my enemy."
Mid-battle, the players start arguing about who they should side with. The issue is further exacerbated by the fact that each has their own backstory that makes them side with an entirely different faction. One player leads a group of Highcastle guards through a breach into the guest quarters to arrest the Cormyrians. After literally two rounds of fighting (like 12 in-game seconds), they see their fellow players are actually helping the Cormyrians, so he just turns around, fixes the breach, basically traps the Highcastle soldiers that were with him inside, and starts killing them all...
Literally everyone at the entire table was screaming the entire fight, "Who are we fighting?" or "Why are we fighting?" and I honestly don't know what to tell them. Even I, the DM, don't know what is going on...
What do you think? How would you have DMed this session or what pieces of advice could you give me to remedy the situation for next session?

Need help deciding whether I should change my lead or partner for one of my teams and that team is Hyde and Heart. I feel as though it’s underperforming and I’m trying to see what I can do to make it better. (most likely a skill issue lmao) I have two other teams I run, one of them being Yang and Naoto which is more to counter zoning and keep away and it’s just a pocket team mostly. My main team (Well I call it my main team cause it’s the team that’s stuck pretty well) is Orie and Yumi. I love to play a neutral play style with pokes and not really to rely on pressure and I feel this team is good at doing that. Yumi fits that shoto or all rounder fix that I usually need and well there isn’t much to be said about Yumi. Orie is what I’ve been told is to be the bigger threat of my team surprisingly, I’ve been told to be defensive and great at poking and controlling space basically dictating the pace of the game. When on block, I’m able to keep myself safe without the use of assist (thank you reverse beat) and just force my opponent to make a mistake and capitalize. Orie just feels right and I can go on and on. I just don’t know what I can do for a backup team cause I feel like I can’t get that same kind of success which probably caused me to be narrow minded in my choice of characters. So if anyone can think of some options, I would love to hear them. Heck even some options that throw me out of my comfort zone, granted I can play any archetype, I myself am very flexible with character variety but neutral/space controlling characters have been my forte. Final note: I’ve tried Yu and Ruby to a greater extent than most characters that fall under this weird umbrella. Just thought I let everyone know before there’s a bunch of Yu and Ruby suggestions but if I need to take a second look at them, I wouldn’t mind. Sorry for the long post and thanks for taking the time to read it.

I admit, I cheated by searching for tips and watching some videos (baalorlord's).
I did the following from my last run:
  • skipped bad cards
  • removed basic Strike cards
  • skipped curses if possible unless very good benefits
  • rested at <50% HP, otherwise upgraded cards
  • took max HP+2 (from Singing Bowl relic) when bad cards spawn
  • timed my attacks for energy gain from Nunchaku relic
  • built around scaling Strength since I had sustain (Reaper), and damage (Whirlwind)
  • Dropkick allowed me to keep attacking enemies
  • forgot about Orichalcum relic sometimes, and ended my turn with Block cards, causing me to take additional damage
  • used some potions on normal mobs when I had a bad hand, it felt bad but in hindsight, it led me to survive with more HP to spend on more fights and win more
  • confused myself if I did the right choice in purchasing some colorless cards, felt like they paid off though
  • HAD A HARD TIME WITH MENTAL MATH (BASIC ARITHMETIC), MADE POOR CHOICES IN DEALING AND MITIGATING DAMAGE I kept counting with my hands and used a calculator for 2x2 digit multiplication
Act 1
  • Fought more normal enemies to populate my deck with cards
  • Took upfront damage cards asap
  • Fought elites if I'm at >50% HP
  • Hoped for aoe damage cards, and some scaling cards
  • Slime Boss = did enough damage for split, scale damage with Flex + debuffs and AoE damage
Act 2
  • Took more events than fights, to conserve HP for Act 2 boss
  • AoE damage cards shined through here
  • Bronze Automaton = scale damage with Flex + debuffs and AoE damage, Block when needed
Act 3
  • Took more events than fights, to conserve HP for Act 3 boss
  • Donu and Deca = focused on Deca first because my Strength scaling cards take too long to play, used debuffs and AoE, Block when needed
Then I am greeted by an oversized heart (of the Spire?), seen some images and 1 video of baalorlord fighting it , but don't know much.
Also unlocked Ascenion, I don't know how to feel. The game is hard as it is lol

2024.05.23 09:44 MasterMoes1 Weird "delay" issue with Minecraft Bedrock server on Windows 10

I'm having an issue whenever I'm playing on my friend's Bedrock server. First of all, whenever I click "join server", it takes forever to load on the "Locating Server" screen, which is strange because I'm only a few miles away from my friend who's hosting the server on his extra PC. Eventually, a message appears saying "Appearance taking too long. Joining server."
Once I get in, everything is extremely delayed. Blocks break 10 seconds after I mine them, my inventory opens about 5 seconds after I press the inventory button, mobs freeze and suddenly unfreeze constantly, and so on. I can move freely and usually place blocks ok, no frame drops or anything like that. I'm the only person this happens to on the server, but sometimes I have full days without any issues playing the game (rarely). Whether I'm alone or the server or not, the issue keeps happening, and even when it goes away, it comes back after I walk a few blocks. I can usually mine blocks and fight mobs and such just fine as long as I don't take any steps.
I know it's not an internet issue because my connection speed is 120mbps at a very steady rate. I can play Java edition servers and other online games without any lag issues whatsoever, but never Bedrock.
I've tried everything at this point. Uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft and its launcher, turning off vsync in the game files, joining without a custom skin, checking for updates, lowering my settings, closing/turning off all apps and devices that may be taking up bandwidth, and more. Does anyone know what the problem is?

2024.05.23 09:33 hotohoritasu Actually, how good is armor in this series?

I got Nioh back in 2017, got filtered because at the time Dark Souls 3 was rent free on my mind, didn't adapt and forgot about it. This past week I steamrolled through the game and I'm going for Nioh 2 since I'm in the mood.
Played Nioh with the Kusarigama and Ninjutsu since it's what I ended finding the most comfortable early on, at the begining I wasn't feeling the difference between heavy or light armor so went the entire game with a glass canon build centered on learning the movesets of the monsters and evading practically everything (Ended up using the Iga Jonin set for better ninjutsu), only parried attacks in a couple missions where I found a good strategy and blocked a few attacks on some combos at certain bosses to keep going.
I kinda wanna try being more barbaric for the second game, being more in the face gaining terrain instead of constantly backing up waiting for a brief moment to exploit the defenses of my enemies. So, how much more do you find yourselves surviving while wearing heavy protection vs light armor? My overall experience in the first game was two or three hits and i'm pretty much dead.
P.D: One thing to note is that at the end I was VERY underleveled, but I don't think it mattered that much? Like, My character ended around level 115 when I was doing level 160 missions, but the health increase from those extra 55 levels doesn't seem to be that much, specially with soft/hard stat caps. For Example, Date in the first dlc could easily take me down with one stab, but he did more than enough damage to bring me down even if I had the extra health.

it looks like the remake doesn't include any sort of hardmode, which is a shame. there's a lot of areas where the game's even a little easier (superguard timing, can carry more items, items are more available, etc). so i wanted to share the rules i've been using for people who want a little more challenge.
there are dozens of ways to break the difficulty in TTYD because it's such a customizable game, and the appeal of using these hard mode rules is to force you to engage with the gameplay & enemies more - in normal gameplay a skilled/experienced player can destroy fights before enemies even act, and you play hard mode because it's fun to actually have to deal with enemies on their own terms. it's up to you what you decide counts as "cheese" in that context.

Like Ryu specializes in a more defensive fighting style as well as the long-range Hadouken, while Ken is more agile and specializes more in the close-quarters Shoryuken. And because of Ryu and Ken's beginner-friendly natures, as somewhat of a way to get newbies used to either long-range defense or close-quarters mobility, before moving up to other playable characters, that I'd assume they'd sum up the overall fighting game experience.
That is, some characters are rushdowns who are capable of closing in on their enemies at high speeds, which would have also been useful for evasion. While others are more built for defensive zoning, as in launching ranged projectiles at their enemies to keep them spaced out while blocking and parrying more often than dodging.
Am I right? Do Ryu and Ken sum up the overall fighting game experience for you, in-terms of their beginner-friendly yet polar opposite approaches to martial arts combat?

2024.05.23 08:15 North-Day-382 HW3 Alternative Story (Rough outline)

Hey just wanted to share my AU I kinda wrote up roughly. I by no means want to act like this is better than what we got. I merely wanted to share an alternative way this newest Homeworld game could have gone.
I feel like a interesting story could have centered around this legendary god like fleet that Karen has crafted. The Khar Sajuk and its accompanying navy being the epitome of Higaran technology and prowess. Imogen and her mothership being equipped with the very first synthetic core. Serving as a view of the future.
Instead of the anomaly being this great threat that has existed for years that the galaxy has just been ignoring. Have it be something Imogen accidentally releases have the second mission be the maiden voyage of the new mothership where they fight some pirates and test their new core on a hyperspace gate. Only to release this grave threat against the galaxy.
You can still have an unsure Imogen who feels unprepared and unsuited for her role only now it will feel much more natural because she’s being thrusted into an impossible situation that she had a part in starting. After barely fleeing the second mission have the next objective be the return to Higara to warn of the coming threat. It’s there we see the initial unprecedented destruction and chaos caused.
It’s here where the Khar Sajuk and Karen once more take up the role as the defenders of the Higaran people. With their three progenitor cores being able to respond and reposition across the galaxy better than any other fleet. Such assets would be wasted in being sent into the unknown to discover the source of the anomaly.
Imogen is sent on a desperate mission to seek the heart of this threat. While Karen defends the empire from this new overwhelming fleet. Have a mission where Imogen assists Taiiden forces who have been caught with their pants down by this new threat. As the campaign progress you get reports on how Karen has developed better hyperspace inhibitors that block these new hyperspace weaponization. Thus preventing planets from being glasses however she remains unable to be everywhere at once meaning enemy fleets and task forces still wreak havoc across known space.
As Imogen further progresses the war on the home front turns into a attritional meat grinder where the legendary Sajuk fleet is whittled down piece by piece. Imogen is unable to defeat the Queen or (insert grave evil here) or she arrives to late to stop them. Resulting in them being able to use an advanced form of Hyperspace jump gate or some other technobabble contraption. where they are able to bypass the new inhibitors and a huge fleet is suddenly over the sky’s of Higara.
Imogen desperately follows through this advanced gate or whatever technobabble device. Arriving elsewhere in the Higaran system. Karen and the Sajuk fleet are embroiled in fierce combat with this great threats main force. Imogen spends this mission assisting arriving Kiith forces who have returned to defend their home. Perfect time to call out the Beast Slayers, Kiith Soban, Kiith Naabal, Kiith, Kiith Manaan, or potentially dozens of new Kiith. Have your efforts in this fight play a role in the coming battles. Making the coming battles easier if you saved more allied forces.
Where once successful and (hopefully) reinforced by the newly arriving Kiith Fleets. Imogen rushes into combat not joining the main fight rather instead rushing to the defense of the new Hyperspace inhibitor the only thing preventing Higara from being glassed. Once you’ve relived the battered defense fleet and secured the inhibitor. You join Karen in the final push to drive the menace from the home world’s skies.
Arriving to Karen’s battle to find her forces almost wiped out and in desperate need of support. It’s here where you fly in with the support of the arriving Kiith Fleets and maybe even some Taiiden representation. While they fight around you Karen and Imogen make a push through the center towards the main massive ship home to the Queen or grave threat ( I’m leaning towards a AI).
Where Karen and the Sajuk must make the ultimate sacrifice. To prevent technobabble dark matter super weapon from being fired and tearing Higara asunder. Leaving Imogen to defeat this massive warship slowly piece by piece needing to defeat layers. Needing to carve the massive warship to finally reach deep enough to damage critical systems.
Once defeated Imogen stands as the new fleet command where she recovers the three progenitor cores along with her synthetic core. Where the game ends with the celebration of the defeat of a great enemy. With Imogen arriving back to the gate that started this whole mess. Where she realizes this gate connects to an entire new galaxy. That the AI fleet was of progenitor origin built to serve as the final hurdle before achieving intergalactic capability. A final test to see if a galaxy was prepared to explore beyond their galaxy.
The game ending with the gate activating with a dark void, like staring into a black hole. Leaving the game in a perfect place for a sequel where we explore another galaxy or literally just as an end.
Gosh don’t know what inspired this sudden rant. Sorry about that. Also sorry if this is super dumb just me taking my shot at a different potential story for HW3.
I just feel like there were cooler directions to go. Maybe Imogen starts her journey full of confidence and bravado. Her mind and ego filled with her accomplishment of crafting a synthetic hyperspace core. Maybe she seeks to forge her own legends so her legacy can be similar to that of Karen. Maybe this plays into her unleashing this AI menace or whatever. So unlike Kiith Somataw who accidentally unleashed the beast. Perhaps Imogen goes looking for trouble and the unknown. She boldly seeks something to her ambitions.
It’s only when after releasing this menace watching her fledgling fleet be massacred and the subsequent destruction and chaos that is unleashed upon the Galaxy is she horrified and the pendulum swings the other way where she feels like nothing but a failure and a fraud. Where she is then built up throughout the campaign through her triumphs and doing what she can to fix her mistakes. Resulting in the end after Karen’s noble sacrifice does she prove herself a worthy successor to the legend of Karen Sajuk.
Perhaps her journey could even parallel that of the Higaran empire (or Hegenomy or whatever) itself. Where after a century of dominance and opulence complacency has taken root. The false idea that nothing can challenge the united might of Higara is shattered by the ensuing galactic war. And by the end after Karen gave her life doing what she did for centuries serving and defending the Higaran people.
Imogen and her synthetic cores will herald a new era for the Higarans. While her ambition and exploration brought much suffering it also shattered the growing sense of complacency. Preventing the potential stagnation of the Higarans. Opening a future. One in which multiple motherships are possible and opening the flood gates to more of the vast cosmos.

2024.05.23 07:52 No-Emphasis3322 Help with lag/stuttering issues (Fo4)

This issue happens on vanilla after the new updates. Playing 1440p high-ultra mix (I have taken it down to high, medium, and low 1080p with the same results, borderless window also), i5-13400f, 32GB DDR5-5600, 4060 8GB. Graphics drivers are fully updates, MOBO firmware is updated, windows (11) fully updated. I have had V-Sync off and on, limited my fps from 58 up to 144hz with all of the same results. I have went through every "fix" I can find. Fallout 4 has been uninstalled and re-installed 5 times over. I used to be able to play the Magnus Opus mod list on ultra with 60fps with no issue until the update. I have no issues with any other games.

“Rooted by agony” proctor Servantis vs William afton(Ben 10 vs five nights at Freddy’s) (connections + potential in description)
Connections:
-mad scientists who kidnapped children and turning them into hybrids(Servantis fusing children’s DNA with alien DNA and afton killing children and stuffing their bodies into animatronics as their spirits posses them)
-both would eventually become those hybirds(Servantis fusing with a cerebralcrustacean and afton going into the springbonnie suit where he is that springlocked and is presumed to be dead but came back as springtrap)
-both used to be a part of important organizations of their verse(Servantis formally being a plumber until he created the rooters and afton formally being the CEO of fazbear entertainment and afton robotics)
-both are highly intelligent and play the world like a chess game
-both after being reunited by someone who is connected to them from the past they were ultimately defeated by them(servantis being defeated by Kevin levin who was his former lackie and afton being defeated by micheal afton who is his son and and Henry Emily who was his former business partner) (Though afton came back cuz why not)
I’ll admit while it isn’t that thematic their is the potential
Animation potential:
-the fight could start off with Servantis coming to a fazbear pizzeria in the middle of the night but would be confronted by William
-the fight could start off with William trying to get past Servantis’ electrokinesis and telekinetic abilities
-during all of this both are just shit talking each other
-you could have a moment where William loses some pieces of his suit revealing the rotted corpse he is as servantis is disgusted by this
-during the middle William would summon his entire army of animatronics
-Servantis sees this and summons the rooters to help him(I see them using Phil, swift, Leander, and the plumber Kids but I don’t see them using Kevin however)
-the dynamic changes from a simple 1v1 to a team fighting off an entire army
-during this you could have an awesome bit of Phil in his Terroranchula form ripping through a ton of animatronics
-as this goes on for awhile Servantis has enough as he uses his telekinesis to lift up the entire pizzeria up from the ground and up into the sky causing a hazard in the fight
-Servantis would than teleport use the same device he used to get to the pizzeria to teleport it and everyone in it to the null void
-there Servantis would than command a way bad to fight William
-William knowing that he is at a disadvantage would than begin to use glitchtrap/the mimic
-glitchtrap would immediately than begin to fight the way bad
-after defeating the waybad William would go back to normal and knock servantis down as he begins to beat the shit out of him
-before he gets to do the finishing blow Servantis immediately uses his electrokinesis to mess around with Williams suit causing a springlock failure
-William begins to get even more mutilated that he was before and as he begins to die and shouts “I ALWAYS COME BACK” before ultimately dying
-afterwards Servantis and the rooters would leave the area which is filled with ripped apart animatronics

-Servantis should clear(city block level Servantis vs building level William)
Music potential:
-the track would be called “rooted by agony”
-the track art would be the head of springbonnie fused with a cerebralcrustacean as its forehead opens up reveling its brain as electricity forms from it
-the track could be a more fast paced version of child’s fright mixed in with the classic Ben 10 sound
Overall:
-while I do prefer William against junko enoshima and bendy the ink demon I will say I think I cooked pretty well with Servantis vs William even though Servantis unfortunately doesn’t really have much

Hello. I've been lurking in this sub for a few days now. I think this sub is pretty funny, and I enjoy reading your opinions. I've been a fan of Taylor's music for five years now. I enjoyed hearing her on the radio growing up, but I didn't start listening to her albums until Lover. Since then, I've enjoyed all of her albums. However, she's been frustrating me lately, and I felt this was a safe place to vent.
Let's go back to the Midnights era. I was excited to see where she went after Evermore, but I thought it would be a few years because of the rerecordings project. Imagine my surprise when she announced a new album at the VMAs that year. I remember watching several prediction videos and checking Instagram every few days for a Midnights Mayhem with Me reel. However, when she posted about that clock made up of the vinyl variants, I was a little put off. Why would you buy four versions of the same album to make a clock? Couldn't you just sell a regular clock with that photo in the background? Also, I'm upset we never got a complete physical version of Midnights. At the very least, I would've liked a CD version of the 3 AM edition. However, I let that slide because A.) it's not my business how other people spend their money, and B.) I mostly listen to music on YouTube (I only buy CDs if I really like an album).
Next, I haven't enjoyed the media coverage of her relationships over the last year. I heard about her relationships with Taylor Lautner and Harry Styles growing up, but I didn't hear about it all the time. She was with Joe Alwyn when I joined the fandom, so I didn't hear much media chatter about who she was dating. I was shock when I heard they broke up. It sounds stupid, but I was pretty sad when the news broke. I thought she had found her person. I was pretty confused when she started dating Matty Healy. I was aware they may have talked during the 1989 era, so I thought it was kinda cute that they were seeing each other nearly a decade later. However, I saw the Swifties flipping out. To this day, I'm not sure how much of that was blown out of proportion and how much was warranted. I think I started rooting for them out of spite, lol (the fans are annoying sometimes, I'm sorry). Then with Travis, I didn't enjoy the initial media onslaught ("seemingly ranch" is a trigger phrase now, lol). I'm not a football fan; one of my favorite artists being at the games isn't going to change that. I tried to figure out if I could block out key words on Reddit because I was tired of seeing this man's name. I try to ignore this relationship because I do not care about it at all. I'm okay with fans fawning over Tayvis. It's just not for me.
Lastly, I didn't like the TTPD rollout. I like the album; it think making connections to my own life instead of focusing on the lore allowed me to enjoy it as much as I do ("But Daddy I Love Him" and "Guilty as Sin?" really resonate with me as a deconstructing Christian, for example). However, I didn't like how she announced it at the Grammys. Could she not have waited until one of her Tokyo shows to announce it? I also wish she whittled the album down to the 16 best songs instead of releasing a 31-song double album. Personally, I would've been okay with the standard edition and a few deluxe tracks (all on one album, not scattered across four variants). Off the top of my head, we didn't need "So High School," "Thank You, Aimee," or the last five songs on the Anthology (I like "The Manuscript," but it is essentially "Dear Reader, Part 2"). I hope TS12 is more concise.
Sorry for the long post. I know there are other things she has done that people don't like, but I don't know enough about the Ticketmaster situation or the environmental impact of her private jet to be upset about that. I've had some gripes for a while and didn't know where to talk about them until now. I still like the music, but I don't worship the ground she walks on. I hope she continues to grow as an artist and as a person.
As my hyper-fixation on TTPD winds down, I have been making a list of other artists and albums I want to check out. I've been loving the new Billie album, and I'm excited for a new Twenty One Pilots album on Friday. My list also consists of Raye, Madison Beer, Hozier, Florence and the Machine, Boygenius, Brothers Osbourne, Chappell Roan, Lana del Rey, Paramore, Harry Styles, Carly Rae Jepsen, etc. Taylor's music is my default when I want to listen to music but don't know what I want to listen to. However, I want to expand my horizons and find more artists to enjoy.

Passed the exam on my 2nd attempt. Geez what a relief! To anyone who got a score of Fail, just know this exam is useless and I wish you pass on your next attempt.
Okay here is what I did:
Practice Tests: UWSA1/2 180-185 (score about 1-2 months before first attempt and also score before retaking them about 3 weeks before 2nd attempt!)
NBME 6 (definitely failing score, don’t remember the exact number but did it maybe 2 months out before my 2nd attempt. Could’ve been 200-300 or something, while passing was 400+ I think?!)
Timeline:
First attempt Study length? no dedicated but I studied about 8 months on and off while graduating med school and starting residency Resources: Uworld (100% complete but 50% average, did not do incorrect) UWSA 180 - 185. Didn’t review them after Sketchy micro/pharm - Sporadic and not consistent CCSCASES - I reviewed flashcards more than actually practicing the cases using the system. This lead to high anxiety during the exam
Second attempt Study length? 6 months on and off because of busy residency duties. Last week of exam was dedicated. Resources: Uworld (20% complete but 60% average, did not do incorrect). Mainly focused on biostats/ethics for Uworld and did all of Randy Neil videos as well. UWSA 180-185 about 3 weeks out but this time I heavily reviewed these 2 practice exams CCSCASES - I practiced the top 70 or so cases more than reviewing my flashcards for them I feel like this helped with anxiety as the day 2 cases were relatively easy, I would just hammer through my orders and knock out all cases without taking a break (mind you I’m the type of person that normally takes breaks between each block during usmle exams) Flashcards: Dorian anki deck - I discovered this late like 2 weeks before my exam but I did very specific sections of it I thought I was weak in. Pro tip: there is a preview feature in Anki when you go into browse mode where you can cram cards fast like a PowerPoint. That’s what I did for specific sections. Paper flashcards - I made my own paper flashcards for all basic Uworld algorithm (Chest Pain, Gout, etc) and also for any Uworld or nbme or UWSA concept I struggled to understand. This was a mountain of cards but probably helped with a few points Sketchy micro/pharm - I did like 40 min before day 1. I wish I did more. Definitely missed easy q by not going through this thoroughly. Only recommend if you mastered this before for step 1 or 2 Review course - Did a review course. It helped seeing info in lecture format. DM if you want more info. CASH MONEY Resource game changer: NBME exams for step 2 CK Found an online pdf of NBME 2-8 I think for most NBME shelf exams. I organized them all into organ systems then subjects. This helped me identify what concepts were repeated among various NBME. I think NBME exam writers are literally the same for USMLE so this was a no brainer resource. Even though I made this beautiful document, I don’t think I was able to fully review it because the amount of questions turned out to be almost 1800-2000
TLDR: NBME/CMS exams, do them all, anything you can find. I want to argue that NBME exams for Step 1 are even more useful for day 1 that Uworld is for day 1. Uworld will only help for Day 1 Biostats/ethics. I truly believe that you will pass this exam when you get MOST of the points that YOU PERSONALLY should have got correct. For example, if you used to be a boss at psychiatry for step 1, then make sure you have that down cold for this step 3 because what will screw your over is missing those questions that you had once mastered. NBME style questions are simple way of running through step one contents that just never leaves you until you pass all 3 steps. Also remember you are studying for Day 1(biostats/ethics and moa abx and pharm) and Day 2 (prognosis, risk factor, ccscases). So if you are doing Uworld only and it isn’t hitting what I just mentioned, maybe consider revaluating your strategy.
Alright guys just wanted to put this out there since I was getting a few DMs about what to do differently. For the record, I passed all the steps on my 2nd attempt. So maybe take my advice if you fall into my category of test taking. Also, I have seen a number of posts recently about passing using more NBME style practice, so take that for what it is too. Honestly, even if you just want a prayer before your exam, send me a DM. I want to give back to this community and any struggling student as much as I can. If I can do this, you all can as well!!!
