2024.05.20 07:09 solovelee cat keeps jumping on the sink

This might be a more human problem, but my cat keeps jumping into the sink and I am running out of solutions.
I have a cat and live with 3 other roommates, one being my boyfriend who is also the landlord. Because my roommates and I all have hybrid work schedules, we cook at home and sometimes don't have the time to wash our dishes immediately. The issue is that my cat is very food motivated and likes jumping into the kitchen sink to eat leftovers, which would get her sick. We have a sturdy sink cover, so I asked all of my roommates to cover the sink if they don't want to wash their dishes immediately (this sink cover is constantly on the sink or placed next to the sink, in plain sight), and even wrote a sign and taped it right on the wall behind the sink so that it is very visible whenever someone uses the sink. One of my roommates keeps forgetting, no matter how many times I remind her.
I feel like I am trying to do my best to accommdate for everyone, but clearly they keep forgetting to cover the sink and my cat keeps getting sick from getting into the sink and eating leftover food scraps. I feel guilty for exposing my cat to this, and I feel like I am slowly ruining my relationship with my roommates + even my boyfriend for constantly nagging about the sink. I'm exhausted, upset, frustrated, and at my wits end. Is there anything else that I could possibly consider to prevent my cat from jumping into the sink if it's uncovered? She only does this when no one is around -- if someone is in the kitchen, she doesn't jump on the counters. I've tried foil, double sided tape, and the auto sensor air pressure can, and none of these worked. I feel like I just have to start asking roommates to keep the sink empty at all times if they cannot clean immediately, or lock my cat in my room if i'm not home (which would result in her screaming for hours on end).

2024.05.20 07:07 tab_rick Top 10 Best Bathroom Sinks in 2023

Top 10 Best Bathroom Sinks in 2023
Navigating the myriad options for bathroom sinks and finding the best bathroom vanities with ample storage space can be an intricate endeavor. We are committed to simplifying this process for you. Join us as we explore the top 10 bathroom sinks of 2023, shedding light on their distinguishing features, exceptional advantages, and market-leading attributes. Together, let’s identify the sink that flawlessly marries elegance and utility for your living environment.

What is the Best Bathroom Sink?

The ideal bathroom sink is a complex interplay of personal taste, spatial limitations, and design objectives. However, there are universally recognized qualities that contribute to a superior bathroom sink.

Ease of Maintenance

Effective household management necessitates reducing the time allocated for bathroom sink maintenance. Premium sinks are designed for low maintenance, featuring stain-resistant properties and ease of cleaning. Materials like solid surfaces are advantageous due to their smooth surfaces that effectively repel common bathroom stains.

Diversity in Sizes and Styles

A one-size-fits-all approach is impractical when it comes to bathroom sinks. Your choice will be influenced by spatial considerations and aesthetic preferences. Below are some standard sink dimensions:

Sink Type Size (in inches)
Drop-in Sinks 20-24
Undermount Sinks 19-22
Above-counter Sinks 15-20
Cabinet Sinks 24-48
Freestanding Sinks 18-30
Wall-hung Sinks 20-24

Drop-in Sinks

Commonly known as top-mounted sinks, drop-in sinks are favored for their straightforward installation process. These sinks are inserted into a pre-cut hole in the countertop, with the rim sitting above it. This configuration offers a contemporary look and serves as a practical solution for settings that prioritize both aesthetics and utility.

Undermount Sinks

Undermount sinks are affixed beneath the countertop, delivering a streamlined and modern appearance. Preferred for minimalist settings, the lack of a rim simplifies cleaning and eliminates the possibility of debris accumulation.

Above-counter Sinks

Also referred to as vessel sinks, above-counter sinks are positioned entirely atop the countertop, serving as a striking design element. Available in a variety of materials like solid surface, ceramic, or copper, these sinks offer businesses an opportunity to make a visual impact.

Cabinet Sinks

Combining storage and sink into a unified structure, cabinet sinks are perfect for those requiring additional storage for toiletries and other essentials. These sinks often come with soft-close drawers and are crafted from diverse materials such as hardwood, engineered wood, teak, and plywood, delivering both functionality and style.

Freestanding Sinks

Freestanding sinks, including freestanding vanities, stand independently, not requiring a countertop or vanity for support. These sinks are particularly well-suited for spacious environments aiming for a refined aesthetic. Made from high-quality materials like solid surface or porcelain, are both durable and low-maintenance. Their design flexibility allows them to serve as eye-catching focal points when complemented with stylish faucets.

Wall-hung Sinks

Wall-hung sinks, sometimes referred to as wall-mounted sinks, are designed to maximize floor space in compact bathrooms or powder rooms. They are directly mounted to the wall, often featuring built-in faucet holes and a small ledge for storing toiletries. Crafted from robust materials like solid surface or stainless steel, wall-mount sinks ensure lasting performance.

Multifunction Design

The quintessential bathroom sink should surpass mere washing capabilities. It should epitomize a fusion of convenience and advanced utility, taking into consideration the available space in the bathroom. Features such as integrated storage solutions and adaptable faucet hole configurations are essential to cater to a broad spectrum of plumbing prerequisites. The strategic inclusion of overflow drains is indispensable to counteract potential water spillage. During the selection phase, it’s paramount to juxtapose these functional nuances with sophisticated aesthetics. Facets like soft-close drawers and innovative shelving solutions augment the sink’s multifaceted utility. It’s also vital to appraise the spatial dynamics of the bathroom to ensure an impeccable integration.

Superior Materials

The material pedigree of a bathroom sink is instrumental in ascertaining its enduring appeal and resilience. Options span from the perennial sophistication of porcelain to the stalwart resilience of stainless steel and copper. It becomes imperative to select a sink that is impervious to stains, adept at handling thermal variances from hot water, and exhibits unwavering durability over extended periods. Whether one’s inclination is towards a cutting-edge solid surface sink or a vintage wooden basin, the chosen piece should resonate with both utilitarian needs and refined aesthetic inclinations. Such a choice guarantees a harmonious amalgamation with the overarching bathroom decor while ensuring a lot of storage for quintessential items at an affordable price point.

Solid Surface Bathroom Sinks

Dive into the realm of solid surface bathroom sinks, a pinnacle of modern bathroom design. These sinks are meticulously crafted from a unique blend of high-grade resins and aluminum hydroxide powder. This combination results in a pristine, pore-free surface that marries aesthetic charm with functional utility. Notably, the use of premium isophthalic resin ensures the sink remains resistant to yellowing over its lifespan.

  • Countertop Integration: Their ability to merge flawlessly with solid surface countertops provides a cohesive, modern look, perfect for businesses aiming for a streamlined design.
  • Heat and Stain Resistance: The fusion of top-tier resins with aluminum powder grants these sinks remarkable resistance to stains and heat, making them ideal for busy bathroom settings.
  • Good Durability: Constructed for longevity, solid surface sinks are a wise investment for establishments looking for enduring solutions.
  • Eco-friendly: Their extended lifespan ensures sustainability, reducing frequent replacements and lessening environmental strain.
  • Mold and Moisture Resistance: Solid surface bathroom sinks, being non-porous, effectively combat high humidity levels.
  • Swift Installation: Solid surface sinks ensure a smooth and quick setup, reducing construction time.

Maintenance of Solid Surface Bathroom Sinks

Maintaining these sinks is straightforward. Their non-porous nature wards off stains, and a quick wipe with a damp cloth paired with a mild detergent is all it takes to maintain their pristine look. Simple and hassle-free.

Stone Bathroom Sinks

Stone bathroom sinks, meticulously crafted from natural materials such as granite, quartz, and marble, are synonymous with luxury and elegance. Their inherent beauty, derived from nature, ensures that each sink stands as a unique masterpiece, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of any bathroom.

Key Features of Stone Bathroom Sinks

  • Distinctive Aesthetics: Whether it’s the intricate patterns of granite or the sleek finish of quartz, each stone sink narrates its own enchanting tale.
  • Robust Durability: Owing to their natural constitution, stone sinks offer unparalleled durability, making them a prudent long-term asset for establishments.
  • Heat Resilience: These sinks demonstrate commendable resistance to elevated temperatures, ensuring they remain unscathed from hot tools like hair straighteners.

Maintenance of Stone Bathroom Sinks

For stone bathroom sinks to retain their pristine condition, consistent and appropriate care is paramount. Periodic sealing is vital to ward off stains and maintain the sink’s sheen. For daily upkeep, opt for a mild, pH-balanced cleanser and steer clear of abrasive agents that might mar the surface.

Acrylic Bathroom Sinks

Acrylic sinks are the unsung heroes in the world of bathroom fixtures. Lightweight, affordable, and available in a myriad of designs, they’re a popular choice for many businesses.

Key Features of Acrylic Bathroom Sinks

  • Lightweight: Acrylic sinks are easy to handle and install, making them a favorite among plumbers and contractors.
  • Easy Installation: Their lightweight nature means they can be installed quickly, reducing labor costs.
  • Good Impact Resistance: Drop something heavy? No worries. Acrylic sinks are designed to withstand impacts.
  • Affordable: On a tight budget? Acrylic sinks offer a balance of quality and affordability.

Porcelain Bathroom Sinks

Ah, porcelain, the classic choice. Known for its smooth and glossy surface, porcelain sinks have graced bathrooms for decades. Crafted from vitreous china, they’re a symbol of elegance and sophistication.

Key Features of Porcelain Bathroom Sinks

  • Smooth and Glossy Surface: Porcelain sinks have a lustrous finish that adds a touch of luxury to any bathroom.
  • Resistance to Fading: These sinks retain their color and shine for years, ensuring they look as good as new even after prolonged use.
  • Hygienic and Easy to Clean: The smooth surface of porcelain sinks means there are fewer crevices for dirt and bacteria to hide, making them a hygienic choice.

Maintenance of Porcelain Bathroom Sinks

Maintaining porcelain sinks is straightforward. A gentle cleaner and a soft cloth are all you need to keep them in pristine condition. Regularly rinse and wipe to prevent mineral deposits from forming.

Fiberglass Bathroom Sinks

Fiberglass sinks might not be the first choice that pops into your mind, but they’ve been making waves in the industry. Known for their impact resistance and lightweight nature, they’re a practical choice for businesses that prioritize functionality without compromising on aesthetics.

Key Features of Fiberglass Bathroom Sinks

  • Impact Resistance: Life happens. And sometimes, that means accidentally dropping a heavy object into your sink. With fiberglass, you’ve got a buffer. These sinks are designed to absorb shocks, reducing the risk of cracks or breaks.
  • Lightweight: One of the standout features of fiberglass sinks is their weight—or lack thereof. This makes installation a breeze, especially in spaces where a heavy stone or ceramic sink might be impractical.
  • Temperature Sensitivity: Now, while fiberglass is a champ in many areas, it’s a bit sensitive to extreme temperatures. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re in an environment where hot tools like hair straighteners might come in contact with the sink.

Maintenance of Fiberglass Bathroom Sinks

Taking care of a fiberglass sink is pretty straightforward. Regular cleaning with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep it looking spick and span. It’s also a good idea to avoid exposing the sink to high temperatures for prolonged periods.

Stainless Steel Bathroom Sinks

Stainless steel isn’t just for your kitchen. Over the years, stainless steel bathroom sinks have gained popularity, especially in commercial settings. They’re durable, resistant to corrosion, and offer a sleek, modern look that many businesses crave.

Key Features of Stainless Steel Bathroom Sinks

  • Lightweight: Much like their fiberglass counterparts, stainless steel sinks are relatively light, making them easy to install.
  • Resistance to Corrosion: One of the major benefits of stainless steel is its resistance to rust and corrosion. This makes it an ideal choice for high-moisture environments like bathrooms.
  • Affordable: If you’re looking for a sink that offers durability without breaking the bank, stainless steel might be your best bet.

Maintenance of Stainless Steel Bathroom Sinks

Maintaining a stainless steel sink is simple. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent will do the trick. To prevent water spots, it’s a good idea to wipe the sink dry after use. And if you want to keep it shiny, an occasional polish with a stainless steel cleaner will have it gleaming like new.

Composite Bathroom Sinks

Composite sinks are the unsung heroes in the world of bathroom fixtures. Made from a blend of materials, often including granite or quartz combined with resins, these sinks offer durability and a unique aesthetic appeal.

Key Features of Composite Bathroom Sinks

  • Good Durability: Composite sinks can withstand the rigors of daily use. They’re resistant to scratches, dings, and can handle high temperatures.
  • Compatibility with Surrounding Materials: One of the standout features of composite sinks is their ability to blend seamlessly with various countertop materials, be it granite, quartz, or even hardwood.
  • Various Styles: Whether you’re going for a modern look or a more traditional vibe, there’s a composite sink out there that’ll fit the bill.

Maintenance of Composite Bathroom Sinks

Composite sinks are relatively low maintenance. It usually only needs regular cleaning with a non-abrasive cleaner to keep it looking its best. For tougher stains, a gentle scrub with a soft brush can work wonders.

Cast Iron Bathroom Sinks

Cast iron sinks are like the grand old dames of the bathroom world. They’ve been around for ages, and there’s a good reason for that. With their excellent stain resistance and easy-to-clean nature, they’ve earned their place in many a bathroom, be it in a chic boutique hotel or a bustling business center.

Key Features of Cast Iron Bathroom Sinks

  • Excellent Stain Resistance: Ever spilled red wine or dropped lipstick on the sink? With cast iron, there’s no need to panic. These sinks are resistant to most stains, ensuring they will stay in pristine condition even after accidental spills.
  • Sound Dampening: One of the lesser known benefits of cast iron sinks is their ability to insulate sound. So no more loud echoes when you drop something in the sink.
  • Easy to Clean: The enamel coating on cast iron sinks makes cleaning a breeze. A simple wipe with a damp cloth, and voila! It’s as good as new.

Maintenance of Cast Iron Bathroom Sinks

Maintaining a cast iron sink is straightforward. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent will keep it shining. It’s also a good idea to avoid using abrasive cleaners as they can damage the enamel coating.

Copper Bathroom Sinks

Copper bathroom sinks are a unique and intriguing choice for businesses looking to blend aesthetic charm with functional benefits. Known for their natural antibacterial properties, these sinks offer a distinct advantage in terms of hygiene. Crafted usually from a single sheet of copper and often hand-hammered, each sink is a unique piece of functional art. Over time, copper develops a patina, a natural layer that not only protects the material but also enhances its aesthetic appeal. This evolving characteristic makes copper sinks a living, changing element in your bathroom design.

Key Features of Copper Bathroom Sinks

  • Antibacterial Properties: Copper sinks are pretty amazing for a few reasons. First, they have natural germ-fighting powers. Studies show that copper can kill almost all bacteria it touches, which is a big deal for places like hospitals where cleanliness is super important. This special antibacterial property sets copper sinks apart from others.
  • Unique Aesthetic: But that’s not all! Copper sinks have a unique look that’s both old-fashioned and modern. The warm colors of copper and solid brass add a fancy and sophisticated feel to any bathroom. Each sink is handmade, so no two are exactly the same. They might have different textures and shades, which makes them special. Over time, copper develops a beautiful aged look, sort of like an antique.
  • Good Durability: And guess what? Copper sinks are tough too. They’re made to handle the wear and tear of everyday use. Copper doesn’t easily corrode, so your sink will stay looking good and working well for a long time. Unlike other sinks that can crack or chip easily, copper sinks are built to last.

Maintenance of Copper Bathroom Sinks

To keep your copper sink looking its best, you need to take good care of it. Avoid using harsh or rough cleaners because they can remove the natural patina that forms on the copper surface. Stick to gentle cleaners to preserve its beauty and functionality.

Concrete Bathroom Sinks

Concrete bathroom sinks have gained prominence as a fashionable selection for contemporary bathroom designs. Known for their robustness, versatility, and industrial aesthetic, these sinks are highly favored by businesses aiming to elevate their interior décor.

Key Features of Concrete Bathroom Sinks

  • Design Flexibility: One of the most significant benefits of concrete sinks is their adaptability in design. Unlike mass-produced sinks, concrete variants can be tailored to meet specific design requirements, offering a wide range of shapes and sizes for individualized style.
  • Exceptional Durability: Beyond their aesthetic appeal, concrete sinks are engineered for longevity. The intrinsic strength of concrete renders these sinks highly resilient to common forms of damage such as cracking, chipping, and general wear and tear.
  • Heat and Stain Resistance: The natural heat-resistant properties of concrete make it an excellent material for accommodating hot items like hairstyling tools. Additionally, when properly sealed, these sinks demonstrate strong resistance to stains from everyday bathroom products, thus facilitating easier cleaning and maintenance.

Maintenance of Concrete Bathroom Sinks

While concrete sinks offer numerous advantages, they do necessitate more frequent maintenance compared to other materials like porcelain or stainless steel. Regular sealing is essential to guard against water damage and staining. For daily cleaning, the use of a mild, non-acidic cleaner is advised.

2024.05.20 07:05 Content-Following202 WDID if my boyfriend would rather jerk off than be intimate with me?

So my boyfriend 25M and I 22F have been together for almost 4 years now and recently I have felt like he is loosing attraction towards me. I don't know what to do so I'm coming here for advice.
We met on tinder summer 2020, we met just to hook up but continued to hang out and ended up dating after about 1 week or 2. I had to go to another state for college but we continued to be together, I would drive to see him every other week (about a 3 hour drive) and would stay with him. Everything was good and we had intimate time often.
We figured out quite quickly that his love language is quality time and mine was physical touch. He has never been much of a touchy person so that was something I had to get used to.
Fast forward two years we both have graduated and now live together in his hometown. I love it here, our home, our life here. He has a great job that pays great and I am very grateful for him because without him I wouldn't be able to afford this life. I love my job (I am a teacher) but it gets stressful taking care of children all day. He worked very hard to get to were he is now so I am very proud of him for it.
I do most of the cooking, we split the cleaning and chores around the house. Yes we have had some disagreements over the years about things but we have always been able to talk it through and work something out that works for both of us when we have had a long week.
We have very good communication skills in our relationship so I have never felt like I can't talk to him about something that's been bothering me. So when it comes to this I feel like I have tried so much I am just tired of talking and ready for fixing.
About 2years ago I caught him talking to another girl, she blew him off but from what I understand (parts were said on Snapchat and the rest were on messenger) he just wanted pictures and she wouldn't send them. I was gone back to my hometown for a week. I called often but he didn't talk much. Hes not much a talker on the phone so I didn't think much of it, so when I got home and I saw the messages (he left his phone open in the bathroom). The next morning I confronted him and he said he was lonely and missed me. I told him that I need to talk to him and even FaceTime but he was always too tired or not in the mood.
It took about a month to get through that but I still feel alarms going off in my head when I see him on his phone late at night or closing out apps when I walk in the room.
I feel like that was the start of me feeling like he was looking interest in me. Sexually anyways. He was always loving it every other way, I felt comforted and cared for which I didn't get while growing up.
Since than it was good, we went on weekly dates, spent time together talked through emotions when we'd get overwhelmed or was having a hard time mentally because of stress. I love him and I always felt like he loved me.
But we still were not being intimate. When I would try he'd say he was tired from work or just not in the mood. I would try to get him in the mood with massages, dirty talk, foreplay, lingerie etc. But it just didn't do anything. I found a pattern that he'd only be in the mood in the morning on Saturdays or Sundays.
When I would bring it up he'd say he didn't realize that's what he was doing and he was sorry for making me feel like he wasn't attracted and that he loves me very much and he just doesn't have much of a sex drive because of the medication he is taking or work has been a lot. He was also getting his bachelor's online and that was also taking a lot of energy from him. I always understood.
One Friday when I got home I did the cleaning, I cooked and served him before he had his weekly gaming night with his friends I tried to get him in the mood and I was shut down like always. "I'm too tired and I just want to relax and get the game ready for tonight." Is what he said. So I left him alone, I had a good night by myself with dessert some wine and get up the bathroom for a bath.
Before I got in the tub I realized I forgot my robe in our bedroom, so I got on a towel and went over to get it and when I opened the door I found him in bed jerking off to some porn. Which I found out later that he doesn't watch porn on sites he comes on Reddit.
"I'm sorry, I forgot my robe!" I blurted out after I stood in the door a second stunned because I have never walked in on him before. I hurried and got my robe before sprinting out the door back into the bathroom. I heard him yell I love you and something else but I shut the door before I heard.
At first I laughed because it's embarrassing to be caught and it was just funny to be honest. Then I started crying, I felt like I hadn't cried in so long from how hard I cried. It hurt. To only be touched, kissed more than just a peck, once a month. It hurt more than I realized.
I understand that its easier to just take care of it yourself, I'm no one to judge, you know yourself best and there is no shame in that. And sometimes yes sex can take a lot of energy. But to be shut down every time, it wasn't like I was asking all the time like I'm a horndog, it fucking hurt.
After a few hours in the bathroom I finally went to bed and he was sound asleep. I felt like I was being dramatic, like I was crazy and I needed to get over myself.
The next day I explained how I have been feeling. How it feels like I'm just someone that comes home and cooks, takes care of things and then we sleep in the same bed.
He said he didn't notice this and thought everything was going good. I have brought up how little we have sex before and it was always the same answer. I told him that yes everything has been good, but I just don't feel like your attracted to me anymore, how we used to have sex weekly, more than once a week. After that we had more conversations and had intimate times more but still limited, I took what I could get.
It was still only when he'd be in the mood but still I felt like it had to have something else to get in the mood, like he'd only be ready after being on his phone or if his office/bathroom for a while. Or right when he'd come home from work. I still felt like I couldn't get him in the mood.
Lately at night he has been going out to the living room before bed saying he was too hot in the room, which I understood because he gets hot easy and I get cold so I always have multiple blankets. We sleep with separate blankets for that reason, which other people said is weird for a couple but I'm fine with it as long as I get my blankets.
As more of a joke I asked him if he goes to the couch to jerk off and then come back to bed. He said yes sometime. Which again hurt. I'm right here! What do I have to do to get some dick! He said he didn't want to lie and say no but he also didn't want to hurt my feelings.
I just don't know what to do anymore, I just want him to look at ME and see something he wants. I want him to want me. I want him to see me and think how sexy I am and want me. Am I not good enough? Do I gross him out? Have a done something to make him not want that from me? I am chubby, but he said he likes chubby girls and I never felt insecure about it till all this...What do I do?

2024.05.20 07:03 AwesomeGlitch123 Me being a lying, failing student has ruined me

Around early 2022, just after i finished my 9th year during the pandemic, me and my mom were going to move in a few months and enrolling just to leave mid-school year didn't sound like the best plan so mom thought it would be best to enroll me in a fully-online curriculum for the meantime so im still getting educated.
First 2 months were going great, I was doing my studies and helping pack our things, then suddenly i felt like i couldnt do school anymore (think its called burnout). I was always a top student and me randomly losing interest in studying broke me.
Everytime i tried to open the website, I felt a sense of shame and disappointment, so I just closed the page and went on with my day, but this also made me feel like total shit. I was in this feedback loop where if i wasnt finishing my studies i felt like shit, but when im about to start i feel like shit. There were multiple days where I felt just ending it, but I kept telling myself that it'll fix itself out.
Fast forward to when the website locks me out since the time window for completing it has passed, and my mom asks me if i did finish everything, I lied and told her everything was fine. She puts a lot of trust in me and doesn't check up if I was doing my work.
She then asks if I wanted to continue since it would be too late to enroll close to the end of the school year. I agreed, so I spent another few months lying through my teeth to her about my education. I cant seem to tell her as I dont want to break my mom's heart but at the same time I cant keep this lie up.
Now in the present I'm about 1.5months from enrolling in a physical school and she's been asking me for my non-existent report cards. A lie ive built up for 2 years is soon about to crumble and every other day I feel like it would be better to bring this guilt to my grave.
Im sorry about the long post, I wouldve told this to a therapist but i dont have the money for one.

2024.05.20 07:01 Belkowo At first this was abt my mom but turned into a very rambly post abt my life, sorry

For the past 3-4 years she has been VERY into Christian beliefs (im not saying any of this is because of that but i feel its gotten worse since then so i think its important to mention) and especially recently shes been straight up ignoring me. Not even an hour ago i was trying to show her something i had made and the second i paused to catch my breath she left the room as if i hadnt been in the middle of a sentence. And maybe 20 minutes ago i was telling her abt my stomach pain (ive been complaining abt consistent stomach problems for years and have asked to see a doctor but she always "forgets" about it) and she practically spoke over me to tell me about a new beading project. Its like this almost every time i try and talk to her and im getting sick of it. Ive realized i kind of hate talking to her or even being around her because everything is either about her or my little sister (shes autistic so i understand to a certain digree but sometimes its like she forgets she has other kids she has to worry about). And she does it even worse when im talking about my friends or school in general like she doesn't want to hear a thing about my life outside of her. Im in highschool so i guess she just thinks im completely independent now but i really have no idea what im doing like even and i cant always be going to my brother or reddit for advice and i dont want to bother my friends with all of this (i know they wont actually be bothered my it but they really shouldn't have to deal with my home life its not their problem and i dont want to make it). All this plus my moms boyfriend being an abusive asshole is so stressful and its so hard to find a healthy way to deal with all of it. I cant even go to my dad because hes living in a halfay house in a different city plus i dont want to leave my sister here with them alone. Which is another problem because im gonna be moving out in a couple years and im gonna have to leave her behind...just thinking about her being alone with them makes me never want to leave but at the same time i want to run away almost nightly. I dont want to be here but im stuck i have no other option. Ive asked my mom about therapy a couple of times but she wont help with finding a therapist or anything like that and idk how to find that stuff and my brothers busy i dont want to take up his time with that. The only thing i have going for me is my school life and its summer... which means im stuck with people i hate with nowere to go plus my best friend is likely moving to a different state so i wont even have her to help me. At this point i dont know what to do i really have no options other then deal with it all for the next few years but ya know idk how long i can keep this up. I really i could just move in with my dad or something but at this point i dont think he even sees me as his kid more like a old friend he hasn't seen in years. I really wish i had a relationship with him like at all but every time i try its very awkward and idk how to talk to him. Ive never really had a father figure, my dad my moms last bf and current are/were abusive and druggies, she has a type. My dad has been getting alot better and im glad but its really hard to see him as anything but what he was. The last guy is currently trying to take my little sister away (i know from what ive said that doesn't sound like a bad thing but when they were together he would be passed out on the floor and made me take care of her and to this day denies that she has autism so they wouldn't caterto her needs, plus hes only trying to get her to get under our skin he doesn't and never has cared about her.) And thats been going on for like 2 years now. And current guy is a manipulative asshat that i have prayed would get in a horrific accident on multiple occasions. Sorry i just realized how long this is getting ill stop it here but thanks for listening if you read all of this lol

2024.05.20 06:58 SincerelyMissSin Ma was it all a lie

We were best friends up until I turned 15. I was your confidante, your protector, your therapist. We were so close. You told me everything. Despite how you smothered my brother with hugs and kisses and say he was the only boy of a Latin mother over and Over. Despite you always seeming annoyed with me. We used to watch lifetime movies together and you'd tell me about your life. I didn't notice how you'd expect me to sacrifice so you didn't have to be uncomfortably I didn't understand why you'd like to pick on me
When I was a week from being 15 you told me we were moving to California so you could be with the man you had been talking on the phone to. I knew of him. You had a crush on him in high school. But you were telling me you were going to marry this guy. I was asking you why? You didn't answer me. I asked, jokingly, if your new man was going to give me a birthday present since you were I don't know uprooting our lives. You told me that him marrying you was the the greatest gift he could give me.
Ma, as soon as we got to California you didn't need me anymore. Gone were the long talks, gone were the lifetime movies gone was our friendship as you and your man were newlyweds. You and him disappeared into your own little world, whilst my brother had your man's father as companionship. I became alone. T your new man's father hated my guts on sight. And would make it very known that he did. You told me to be the bigger person ask for forgiveness try to be better until T went after your son. When it came to me I was always the one you sacrificed and I was willing to do it cause I loved you so much
We moved again 5 months later, you were pregnant with his kid. We moved to Pennsylvania after you grounded me for my grades slipping. Indefinitely you told me. I was grounded from wearing my usual clothes. Band shirts and jeans. You had me in cleavage bearing stuff that were girly, stuff you'd like. We lived in a hotel room for 3 months. You and your man hastily planned this move a week after telling me. I was depressed you were in love. You told me you didn't know me anymore and why couldn't I be happy for you like my brother
Fast forward a couple months. I'm in isolation none of you will talk to me, I'm being punished it's been a month and a half for calling your man a fucker in an email to a friend. I'm not allowed at the dinner table anymore, not allowed to eat unless I ask. The worst thing for me is thet you burned my band shirts. Even the Floyd one I loved the most, you burned them and my journals. And you and your man called me a sociopath because I cared more about my stuff then calling your man a fucker in an email shortly after we moved to California I was also grounded from listening to music Indefinitely because you were Christian now and my music didn't edify the lord
I was blamed for everything, told that it was me who had to change, doped on geodon berated every chance yall got. You beat the crap out of me after I turned 16. Forced me into a drug test when i was 17 Threw me hand cuffed in a closet when I was 18. Amongst all the times you and the family berated me and mocked me and screamed at me in what I call M bashed and more isolation and more privileges taken away Indefinitely. Or that time you told the guy I liked how I felt because I told him how your husband told me to cut myself to the bone
You and your husband loved to remind me of my parentage. You especially told me to never have children because they'd be like my father, you also told me that because of my father I had to always fight the evil side in me no matter what. My brother didn't have to but I did. Because i was like him
I took your word as gospel ma, was it all a lie. Was your " love " for me a lie? I worshipped the ground you walked on for so long. I was the perfect mirror now I don't know who I am. So please ma tell me was everything a lie

2024.05.20 06:56 Mawashiro The fact that Harley was able to beat Nightwing is so weird to me.

So I recently just played through the Harley Quinn DLC for Arkham Knight, where you have to break into the Bludhaven police station to rescue Ivy as Harley. In the final section, the game presented me with a supossed fight against Nightwing. Now I was excited for this, cause you know fighting fucking Nightwing, and was anticipating some cool movesets or tricks that he was gonna pull. Instead Nightwing turned out to be nothing more than a glorified electric baton thug, and went down after being evaded and back bonked a couple times. Like we're talking Nightwing, the protege, the successor of the Bat, the best of his apprentice, and he got beaten by Harley fucking Quinn of all people? That fight alone made the DLC an absolute disappointment.

2024.05.20 06:51 wesker1213 What exactly can my 1800w inverter handle?

My company truck has an 1800 watt inverter (no apu).
I presently have my refrigerator, microwave, and 24 inch tv (insignia from BB if that matters) plugged into it.
I bought a smallish (800 watt) 12v inverter for my PS5, hard drive, and internet router (tmobile home internet).
Main runs fine. 12v holds at a steady 11.2v when playing (mostly). Frequently drops to 10.2-10.5 when playing horizon zero dawn, especially during heavy battles, thus setting off the low voltage alarm on it and the cables get pretty warm to the touch.
I did the separate inverter trying to spread the load a bit more evenly, but is there any reason to assume the 1800 watt primary couldn't handle it?
Or would a second 12v inverter be better as to not tax it so much?
Just looking how to best set this all up.
Thanks much.

2024.05.20 06:51 OGMills2x AITA? To my Best friend

My best friend has gotten a boyfriend. She’s been dating him for about a month now and I feel like I’m being used now. She’s become more distant in texting me now like she used too. And when she’s not around her boyfriend she’s more active or she feels lonely. When that happens I feel like a second option and I have experience with being a second option so I have a good sense of what that feels like. But at the same time I feel so horrible and more depressed than ever bc I shouldn’t be so possessive but I feel like I’m just a rebound for whenever her boyfriend is not there. Anyone has any advice on this?

2024.05.20 06:50 ctheworld22 Am I being too sensitive?

I like getting feedback on my work & want people to be honest, so I can continue to grow. However, I feel like there’s a difference between someone being brutally honest vs someone who uses it as an excuse to slightly bully or make you feel insecure. My coworker has given me feedback on a few things. It’s usually unsolicited advice. Once I was in a meeting, pitching ideas and she called me right afterwards to tell me I sounded like I had no confidence and I needed to come with better ideas. It caught me off guard.
Another time we were at dinner with a mutual friend who we met at our apartment. She brought up a presentation I had done that I know didn’t go as well as I’d hoped for. I have social anxiety, so a lot of these things are hard for me. I stumbled on my words and was awkward, but I push through and get the work done and try to do the best I can. People don’t understand that simply speaking was hard for me to do at one point in my life. Personally I feel like I’m making strides, even though I’m not where I’d like to be.
She came to dinner and looked like she didn’t even want to be there. She brought up my presentation saying she saw it and made this judgmental look on her face. I awkwardly laughed and just said I got nervous and some things didn’t work out like I hoped for. She went on a slight rant on what I could’ve done better, but it wasn’t in a nice way. It was like in a “you should know better. Here’s what you should’ve done.”
The fact she said all of this in front of someone who doesn’t even work with us, just made me feel like she was doing this as a way to put me down ? Another time we were talking about a coworker of ours. She brought up the person and was going on at how annoying they are. I just shared a story on how me and the woman got in a disagreement once. She said how the woman has said some things about me before and mentioned what she said about the wigs I wear and how she wanted to talk to me about my hair. My friend said she thought my hair was fine. But I just wondered what was her motive on telling me this ? It made me self conscious. I can’t afford expensive wigs. I buy synthetic ones, but I do what I can to make them look presentable.
In that same conversation, we began to talk about work again. She mentioned how I seem like I’m scared of the world and scared of my own shadow and laughed. She said I needed more confidence. This once again, made me feel bad about myself. Again, I’ve struggled so much with social anxiety for years and I’m working on myself. Hearing someone say this, just made me wonder if all my hard work to improve was for nothing, if I still appear to be “scared of the world.” She also talked about my voice and how I need to sound more authoritative when I speak. This advice does the opposite at helping me. It just makes me self conscious even more. Telling someone to be confident, rather than explain how to build confidence I think is counterproductive. Again, I’m working on myself, but people don’t know what I secretly struggle with.
The one time I did ask for advice about an issue she was once again very harsh. At times, I felt like she was taking for the management side of things. She’s friends with our managers too, so I felt like she was defensive when I’d bring up issues. I’m not sure if I’m being sensitive or if this person is really just trying to put me down.
This person is someone who I feel like showcases an extreme level of confidence to overcompensate her looks. She is over weight and I feel like she’s not truly comfortable with herself. She’s said a few things about her weight before in a joking way, but I feel like there’s some truth to how she feels about herself. I wonder if she uses me as a punching bag to feel better about herself.

🔗Clear 5-foot Cellophane Wrap for DIY Gifts and Creations

I recently used this Clear Cellophane Wrap to add a touch of elegance to my gift baskets. The 30-inch by 5-foot roll was perfect for covering a large basket for a birthday party I attended.
It's made of high-quality, glossy cellophane that's thicker and sturdier than other brands, so it doesn't tear easily while wrapping. I loved how versatile it is - I used it to wrap a birthday gift, create a DIY holiday gift basket, and even make candy leis for a graduation celebration. This Clear Cellophane Wrap definitely made my gifts stand out, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking to add a special touch to their gift giving.
The only downside is that it's a bit on the expensive side compared to other wraps, but the quality and versatility are well worth the investment.

I recently came across the Fiesta Wraps 200 ft Green Cellophane Wrap Roll. To say it's been a game-changer in my gift-wrapping routine would be an understatement! This roll of 16-inch-wide, 200-feet-long, transparent green cellophane has proved incredibly versatile.
First off, I love how it instantly elevates the appearance of any gift. Wrap your boxes or baskets with this, and you're guaranteed an aesthetically pleasing result that rivals any store-bought present. Its long length also allows me to cover large items or create extra-long 'gift bag' handles.
The quality of this cellophane wrap is incredible. At 25 mic-thick, it's durable and doesn't tear or get damaged easily, even if there's some rough handling during transport. Plus, it seals perfectly, keeping your gifts safe from moisture and dust.
However, there are two minor cons. Firstly, cutting through this thick cellophane can be challenging without using scissors. Secondly, this isn't a shrink wrap roll, so it's not suitable for projects requiring shrink wrapping.
All in all, the Fiesta Wraps Green Cellophane Wrap Roll has made wrapping presents a lot more enjoyable and professional-looking. Highly recommended!

🔗Transparent Cello Wrap - 40' x 30

https://preview.redd.it/cfw8lmmphi1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=afc7b9f16ee3cd56046a7f6609dac8d1e163c101
As a product reviewer, I recently used the Cello Wrap Clear 40' for a variety of gift-wrapping projects. I was initially drawn to its transparent design, which allowed me to easily see the contents of my gift baskets and raffle items. The large 40' roll made it easy to wrap multiple gifts, and its sturdy quality material ensured that it held up well during my wrapping endeavors.
However, one downside was the lack of variety in terms of width or color options - though the clear aspect did provide a certain sophisticated look to my finished products. Overall, I would recommend the Cello Wrap Clear 40' to anyone in search of a durable and transparent gift-wrapping solution.

🔗Transparent Crystal Clear Cellophane Wrap Roll

As a seasoned gift-wrapper, I've tried my fair share of cellophane wrapping options over the years. However, the Stobok Clear Cellophane Wrap Roll truly stands out from the rest. Its 2.5 Mil thickness provides a sturdy, durable feel that not many other products can boast of. Additionally, the roll's generous size (100 feet long when unfolded) has saved me countless trips to the store, allowing me to wrap everything from small treats to large baskets effortlessly.
What makes it even more versatile is the see-through feature - it adds a touch of elegance to any gift, whether it's a wine bottle or a flower arrangement. The Stobok Clear Cellophane Wrap Roll also excels at preserving freshness and hygiene, keeping your food gifts clean and safe from external contaminants. Plus, wrapping with this roll is sheer convenience; you can cut it into any desired length with ease.
However, the only downside I found was the slightly challenging process of removing the backing from the roll. But once that's done, it's smooth sailing all the way. All in all, the Stobok Clear Cellophane Wrap Roll is a clear winner for me and has become a staple in my gift-wrapping supplies.

🔗Cabilock Multi-Purpose Clear Cellophane Wrap Rolls for Gifts, Baskets, and More

I've been using these Cabilock Clear Cellophane Bags for all my gift wrapping needs and I must say, they've been a game-changer. The clarity of the cellophane is top-notch, giving my gifts a professional appearance that's sure to impress.
I've wrapped everything from small treats to large wine bottles and even used it for flower arrangements, and these clear wrapping papers have never let me down. They're extra long, so I can wrap even my most unwieldy gifts in one go, and the thickness provides extra support without compromising its ease of use. Plus, they're food-safe, which means I can even use them for wrapping baked goods or candies.
They're truly a must-have for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance to their gift-giving.

Secure the edges with ribbon or twine, and add decorative elements such as bows, name tags, or stickers.

What are the benefits of using cellophane wrapping papers?

  1. Transparent and see-through, which allows for a pleasant unwrapping experience
  2. Biodegradable and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic films
  3. Easy to cut, fold and shape to fit different-sized gifts

How do I store cellophane wrapping papers?

To keep your cellophane wrapping papers in good condition, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture. Roll the sheets neatly and ensure they are not exposed to any sharp edges or corners that might tear or puncture the paper.

Can I use cellophane wrapping papers for food packaging?

Yes, but only for dry and non-greasy food items. Cellophane wrapping papers are not suitable for wrapping oily or moist foods, as they may stick or tear easily. To wrap food items safely, ensure they are well sealed and stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent spoilage and contamination.

How to measure how much cellophane wrapping paper I need for my gift?

To determine the amount of paper needed, first, measure the height and circumference of your gift using a flexible measuring tape. Next, add 3-4 inches to each measurement, so you have enough paper to fold and secure it properly. Multiply these two measurements and you'll get the square footage of paper needed, which you can then compare to the available options for cellophane wrapping papers.

How do I clean or remove stains from cellophane wrapping papers?

Cellophane wrapping papers cannot be cleaned or removed once they have been stained. Prevent staining by handling the paper gently and avoiding contact with oily or greasy substances. When possible, use two sheets of paper instead of one to minimize the risk of accidental staining.

Are cellophane wrapping papers acid-free?

Yes, cellophane wrapping papers are generally acid-free. This makes them suitable for archival and conservation purposes, ensuring that delicate artifacts, paper, and photographs remain in good condition for long periods.

What is the difference between cellophane wrapping papers and wax paper?

Cellophane wrapping papers are made from cellulose, which is a natural and biodegradable material derived from plant fibers. They provide a transparent appearance with excellent resistance to moisture, grease, and air. Wax paper, on the other hand, is coated with a thin layer of wax, which gives it a non-stick surface, making it suitable for food storage and cooking purposes.

2024.05.20 06:47 Affectionate-Bag1294 Love connection + fear of rejection

So, I (F23) have been coming to terms with my high sensitivity, as well as a whole load of other childhood trauma, familial wounds and past relationship/friendship experiences in my past for the past couple of years.
I am (naturally) very acutely aware of the things that I need to work through in order to feel safe and stable with myself in the future, I have a vivid idea of what I want my life to look like (not rigid goals, but general well-being/goals for personal fulfillment). Codependency is the hurdle I'm making my way over currently, and accepting the baggage that I come with- not exclusively due to my sensitivity/empathic nature, but certainly those qualities played a part in the dynamics I found myself reliving with different people.
I won't speak for all HSP's, (ik we vary widely,) but for me, it is very rarely that I meet someone I feel I can be entirely myself around, people that would see through a facade even if I attempted to put one on (I'd say someone like this comes along once every 2-3 years, honestly). I just recently finished The Highly Sensitive Person in Love (have been doing a lot of self-help non-fiction reading as I'm currently on a wait-list for therapy), and it sparked some realizations for me.
I think I've met the person (20F) I consider a life partner, (suspect she is also an HSP) we became best friends over the course of two years and met through a local sports team. We took our time getting to know each other, but we hold safe space for one another to be completely honest and open about anything and everything - no topic is off limit. I feel protective of her, so much so it surprises me the lengths I go to when I stand up for her when someone is giving her a hard time etc (that is so NOT who I am, often struggling to stand up for myself when push comes to shove).
We are both private, reserved but romantic people and have bonded over how wrong/unnatural/not aligned modern dating (hookup culture, meeting on apps etc) is for us as individuals. In the time that I've known her she hasn't had a boyfriend, or anyone really close to that, whereas I've come out of a very toxic, draining five year on again off again relationship with my highschool sweetheart around the time we met through this team.
We have chemistry together, enjoy the same things, share comfortable silence, laugh with each other (I crack some horrendous jokes and she loves them), bond over books and movies, and have our own little cinema and book club repertoire just between us. I genuinely feel so much love for her, its nothing like what I have experienced in my life. It feels whole, real and pure, like regardless of how I myself am doing or what's going on in my personal life, my love for her is as consistent and certain as the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening. We grant each other space to do our own things and never express anger or jealousy, yet have had difficult conversations that required us both to be vulnerable and honest and only led to an improved understanding.
In THSPIL, Elaine mentions how common it is for HSPs to think of love in the long term, as a sacred thing, another vehicle alongside an individual on the path to enlightenment and spiritual peace. I've only ever known love to be confusing, scary, cruel and unfair in the past, am I just fixating on her because of her goodness? I'm so wary to make a move that crosses the line from platonic into romantic, I don't want to lose her or make her feel uncomfortable by broaching the subject...
Last summer I did annotate a book she had lent me with some flirty, romantic notes etc - it was a love story and so much of it resonated with how I had been feeling for her, beautiful, kind, silly, clumsy, genuine love between the characters. I wondered, and perhaps assumed, that she may be resonated with them as well and so passed it on to me..I gave it to her, didn't hear for a couple of days, freaked out internally (insecure/disorganized attachment issues) and messaged her apologizing, saying I had made a mistake and asked for the book back. She didn't ask any questions, was very respectful and told me whatever I needed was okay and let me pick the book up, no further discussion.
To this day I'm sure she read it, must know how I feel about her, and is possibly feeling just like I am. We are in a great place as friends, still talk to each other about every aspect of our lives, I have tried to move on but I can't just make myself stop feeling this way for her - I went on a date recently and realized there's no shot I will be able to be romantic with somebody new now that I know her the way that I do.
I'm pretty much a) going to try to make a move or at least have the hard conversation with her over the summer, and regardless of how that goes or doesn't go, b) accept that this love has transformed me and helped me to grow/motivated me, which is a Blessing regardless of all else.
Idk, sincerely, lovesick

2024.05.20 06:45 Agreeable-Fondant617 I’m upset and I feel unsupported could it DARVO?

BKG. I am a BP (49) working on R with my SA/WP (55). We are 14 months out from DDAY1. Went to treatment Had FTD in November. We have been struggling to communicate. We have tried MC and they asked that all “serious” communication happen in therapy and we should only talk about the kids and logistics outside of therapy. I am finding this really constricting. When I try and talk about what happened he tells me that he doesn’t feel safe with me and that’s why he needs a therapist present. He said I have anger issues and that he hasn’t been happy in the relationship for years because he can’t express himself without me getting angry. He also said that people think of me as someone who they have to walk on eggshells around. I felt like a monster and I realized he was painting me to be a terrible person. I am not. I do get angry and I can be sharp but I have lots of friends that rely on me to be a loving support. I have also struggled with pain of finding out my WP cheated on me with anonymous hookups for years. Tl;dR Am I expecting too much at this point in their recovery to have painful and difficult conversations where I express my hurt outside of therapy without him DARVOing me? He is working on his step four but he also doesn’t share with me any of his work even though I know he is trying his best. I feel like it’s digging a tunnel with a spoon.

2024.05.20 06:44 BrujaNinjaMom Petty Revenge!

My ex-husband was a real piece of work, 25+ years and a wonderful current husband later and it is easy to laugh about some of his shenanigans. In polite company I would say we had different moral centers. In not so polite society I would explain he would "beep" anything with a hole that stood still long enough, could not tell the truth if his life depended upon it, and put most of my hard earned money up his nose.
A couple of examples: Our phone got turned off because he was making 900 and 976 (sex lines) calls. He tried to tell me someone had stolen his phone card (that was the thing at the time, most people did not have cell phones), but a friend worked for the phone company and gave me the phone records. I did not have a phone again until after we divorced and I moved to an area with a different phone company.
He told me he had used the rent money to buy me a mothers day present - he didn't. Another time he told me he had gotten mugged and they had given him a black eye and stolen all his cash - again the rent money. I knew there were holes in his story and later found out he actually had gotten caught with another fellas girl, and the other fella had given him the black eye. Assuming the rent money is what they were "partying" with before they were caught.
When we separated, we were receiving food stamps. I got custody of the kids and had gone to the welfare office with the court order to let them know what was going on and find out what I needed to do. I thought I had gotten it all sorted out, but I stopped getting any food stamps and never did again (once my money was not going up his nose, I discovered I did not need the food stamps anyway). I put in several inquires to welfare and about 1 1/2 years later the welfare office finally contacted me and I found out he had been getting all the food stamps! He claimed he had no idea those food stamps were for the kids.
Now for the petty revenge (aside from living my best life without him, while he ended up living (literally) under a bridge for a few years)-
Because I had been the only one working, he had been the one to get all our utilities turned on. Therefore they were all in his name. After I kicked him out, he called me one day and said he was having the gas deposit moved to his new place, I would have to repay the deposit to have the gas put into my name and he would give me half. Of course he never did, but I knew that was going to happen.
The electric bill, which was also in his name, apparently did not have the same requirement. Several months later I moved out of the rented unit we had shared into an area with a different utility company. The electric bill for our old place was still in his name, I had not paid it for several months when I moved out, and left as many things turned on in the unit as I could without creating a fire hazard.
A few months later and he calls me because the electricity had been turned off at his new place. He was furious, as he had been told that it was turned off because of the money owed on the place we had shared. Did not understand why I had not moved it into my name as I had done for the gas. I, or course, claimed I had no idea what had happed to him, but was internally and after I hung up the phone laughing so hard!
I have had a few other satisfing moments through the years, and many other "funny" stories of things he tried to get away with, but this is enough for one post!

2024.05.20 06:39 Riverbend08 I (28f) am about to get engaged to my bf (31m) and want advice about how to approach his relationship with his best friend (27f)?

My man and I have been together for 4 years, and are excited to get engaged very soon. My boyfriend’s best friend, who is female, he met her at work a few years ago, she’s also engaged to a different man , and we’re invited to their wedding, her bridal shower , ect.
This female friend says I love you- to my boyfriend habitually via text, calls and in person and it bothers me deeply. She probably says it every few weeks when they catch up via text or at work . She invited my boyfriend to her wedding dress shopping recently .
The main problem I’m having is that she says I love you- to me it just feels too intimate and means something else to me. I discussed this with my man and he said he’d just say “love you” or “love ya” instead of inserting the “I” in that phrase.
He also is transparent about when and what him and his female bff talk about .
He recently told me that she said I love you again, and he said “love you” back.
I cannot tell for the life of me, because I’ve been trying to be accepting of this all along but now for some reason that we’re this close to getting engaged, it’s causing a massive amount of panic in me that I know that this is going on and could be going on forever - even after marriage . It bothers me so deeply and I dont want to be that insecure controlling fiancé, I don’t seem to have a problem with them being friends and catching up and the occasional “love ya”, but I’m just so hung ip in the fact she says I love you.
My boyfriend says she says that to all her close friends and I’m trying to just reassure myself and tell myself maybe Im overthinking because of my anxiety around realizing I’m getting engaged soon and everything seems like a larger deal, but I’d love to get advice about how to handle this, or know if it’s something I need to just let go and chill on?
I’m feeling so anxious that I feel like I’m going to be sick lately about this issue for some reason.
(Also my boyfriend has told me that she’s also best friends with another married man that - she knows has a crush on her, yet remains best friends and won’t tell the wife of this other random married man friend. So that’s unsettling to think that I could be in the same position. )
Maybe I’m just way overthinking but my boyfriend has advised that he trusts me and trusts himself to never screw things up between him and I and trusts us both to handle our relationship with the utmost care.
How should I go about this? Address this insecurity asap, wait until premarital counseling later this year, or just completely drop it and let it go somehow?

2024.05.20 06:35 False_Estate1478 Am I overreacting?

I have been with my boyfriend for 8 months. I notice him overspending and him telling me he has credit card debt he needs to pay and now he is trying to get laid off from his job so he can get severance while looking for another job. I felt really uncomfortable with him doing this and told him, and he got really angry and packed his things from my house and said he can’t be here anymore. He said I am shaming him by bringing this up because it hurts him. He said I am abusing him. He said I bring this up every couple of days, which is untrue, I have only mentioned it twice. But he kept saying I mention it all the time and I am paranoid of everything all the time. Then he said he will tell everyone how I am paranoid and abusive because I shamed him. I told him if this is what he thinks of me then let’s break up. Then all of a sudden he is very loving and says I’m the best person he’s ever been with and he loves me so much and is so sorry. He says he will never behave this way again.
I want to believe him because he has otherwise been so good to me, buying me gifts and showering me with loving texts everyday. But I can’t seem to let go of how he reacted to me bringing up my concern. He says I should give him a pass for this because he has been so good to me. But I can’t seem to let it go. Am I overreacting?

2024.05.20 06:35 komiorawhu AITAH for wanting to leave my bf

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since I last posted, I originally posted this on a throwaway account but I thought I’d just post it here as well.
I’ve posted here before about my bf because of his selfishness in the bedroom, but recently some other things have happened and I want to leave, I just don’t know how to go about it.
AITAH for wanting to leave my bf and still being in love with my ex?
I (24F) have been dating my bf (24M) for 8 months, things have been good but one sided arguments (me talking to a brick wall) are pretty common. I have an ex (23M) and as much as it pains me to say it he is very much involved here.
For context: I was dating my ex, I will call him D, for a total of 6 months and he treated me well, if I had a problem he would try to understand and he would put in the effort to change and I would do the same. We broke up because he moved away, and we ended on good terms but low/ no contact. When we were together, I told him my heart, body and soul was his. (Which is stupid and naive and weird I know) I guess when you’re young and you think you are in love you say stupid things . When I said that to him I didn’t think I actually meant it, but now here we are and I don’t think my feelings for him have really changed in the slightest. A part of me still loves him and I’m terrified that in the end it will always be him. Maybe it was because he was genuinely my first love and I’ve heard that you never really forget about your first “love” because that person is your first. The separation absolutely broke my heart and it took me a while to get over it, after I was sure I was able to move on I decided to try dating again and this is how I met my current bf, I will call him S, S was good at the start of the relationship. He was kind and funny, and he was supportive of me, however he has his flaws like everyone, and one of those flaws is that he’s very selfish and he likes to turn everything against me. He did not get me a birthday present which was very upsetting and while I don’t expect him to blow all his money on me, just a hand written card literally would have been enough and it would have meant a lot because it was heartfelt. But instead I got nothing. I am constantly having to pay for everything because he decided to quit his job before ensuring he had another one lined up. So he has no money, no savings, no nothing. I found out he was following these only fans girls on social media and liking their stuff while we’ve been together, I tried to confront him and he reacted very poorly and told me that I need to grow up and then he knew them before he met me and that I was stupid and that I was just yapping. He’s very selfish in bed and while I won’t go into detail, I will say that he likes to leave me hanging after he’s done and he doesn’t like to reciprocate what I do for him. He will also go out with his friends without telling me (which I do not care about I’m not his mother) what actually bothers me is that other girls will be there and he does not let me know and I have to find out through his social media, and when I say other girls will be there I don’t mean “it’s one big friend groups and there’s girls in it”I mean it almost looks like he’s on a 2-man. He also likes to make his social media look like he is single and I will ask him to do a trend with me and he will say no because he is “trying to be nonchalant”. Some more information about my ex and my bf: when I was with my ex it was like he was my best friend and we could talk about anything. My boyfriend is not the same and we have the same conversations on repeat everyday and I’m just not as comfortable with him as I was with my ex because of how he responds to my needs, so I find it kind of hard to talk to him about general stuff.
So fast forward to my predicament, because of all this, it’s been building up to a point where I want to leave him. But I do not know how to approach this. D recently contacted me to check up on me and see how I was doing. And while I appreciate him checking up on me I have informed him that I am in a relationship and I am not looking to rekindle anything with him at this point in time. He said he gets it and that he has a girlfriend and I am happy for him and I am glad he’s doing well. But he also keeps inviting me out with just him and I’ve turned him down every time because wtf?? I just say “maybe one day” and change the subject. He also keeps reminiscing on our relationship which is strange because he has a girlfriend. I feel bad for her and I would like to tell her what has been happening but I don’t even know her name I just know what she looks like because he never brings her up.
I respect his relationship so I would never tell him that I still partly have feelings for him. Because I don’t want to come in and ruin anything they may have, if I can even say that he still has an inkling of affection for me. I just feel like I am losing my mind and I feel like a horrible person.
I will not be leaving him for D. Yes sometimes I do miss D and I think about what we could have been if I had just waited and held on a little bit longer. But D is not the reason I am wanting to leave. He is just not a great boyfriend and it isn’t working but I don’t know how to approach it. I am also leaving because it’s not right that I am dating someone and sometimes thinking about someone else.
I am a horrible person, I am naive and stupid and I know it.
I just need advice on how to tell him that I am leaving because he doesn’t treat me well.

2024.05.20 06:30 AccomplishedHoney332 Worried about the consequences of going no contact

For the last few years, I have been toying with the idea of going no contact with my father. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned more about the abuse he put my mom through, before and after their marriage. Physical abuse, stalking, stealing money, the whole nine yards. As a child I had court ordered visitation with my dad so he’s always kind of been around, but present if that makes sense.
When I was 11 he went to prison for a horrible crime. Coming from a small town, this was absolutely humiliating and tarnished the years of key growth in my life. He got out when I was 18 and I always allowed some kind of visit, whether it was at my grandparents or with a cousin present. His abuse and narcissistic tendencies have always been present in our relationship, but more so know that he is slowly realizing I slowly cutting off contact. I am scared to do a complete chop, because I know my grandparents will cut me off too. They did it to my cousin when she cut off her dad (my dad’s brother) who did the same awful things to my aunt and my cousin. When my cousin who cut off her dad, was tragically killed by a drunk driver at 17, they were still so upset that she cut off her dad, my grandparents didn’t go to the funeral. But still continue to welcome other’s condolences.
I love my grandparents. I’m not sure why the way they treated my cousin hasn’t forced me to go no contact with them, but I’m scared of what they will do if I go no contact with my dad. They are all each others flying monkeys, even some of my cousins. I am scared.
Any advice? I’m a 23 year old girl trying to navigate this the best I can.

2024.05.20 06:30 hotwaterbottle2014 INTERMEDIATE GRADE MULTILOBULAR TUMOUR OF BONE - Waiting on staging but wanting opinions about going ahead with Maxillectomy if that is even an option. Will put lab results in after required info.

Outcome:Result Notes: Animal identification: ShadeReceived: 2 oral masses. 1) Hard palate mass. C1=XS, C2=5 biopsies all in. 2) Tonsillar mass. C4=LS.(CHCH 13/5)Histological description: 1) There is a poorly circumscribed, nonencapsulated infiltrative neoplasm consisting of multifocal to coalescing irregularly shaped nodules of osteocartilaginous tissue, osteoid and mineralised cartilage surrounded by concentric layers of plump spindloid cells with basophilic cytoplasm and turned surrounded by a zone of fusiform fibroblasts with eosinophilic fibrillar cytoplasm. Multifocally there is eosinophilic matrix deposition surrounding nodules of osteocartilaginous tissue. There is moderate anisocytosis and anisokaryosis within the plump spindloid population of cells and mitotic figures average 3 per 10 high power field equivalents. Neoplastic cells extend to multiple margins.2) The mass consists of hyperplastic lymphoid follicles underlying a moderately hyperplastic epithelium with multifocal lymphocytic epitheliotrophism. There is no evidence of neoplasia.Morphological diagnosis: 1) INTERMEDIATE GRADE MULTILOBULAR TUMOUR OF BONE2) TONSILLAR LYMPHOID HYPERPLASIAComments: The palatine mass is most consistent with a multilobular tumour of bone.Multilobular tumours of bone are rare, slow growing, locally aggressive neoplasms which occur most often in the skull of middle aged to older medium and large breed dogs. Occasionally these can be more aggressive with metastatic disease to the lungs.Histologically these are characterised by multiple nodules of cartilaginous osseous or osteocartilaginous tissue separated by narrow fibrovascular septa.Intermediate grade multilobular tumours of bone have been associated with median time to metastasis of 405 days and median survival of 520 days.Consider additional imaging to determine the extent of the mass and degree of bone involvement. The other mass is most consistent with hyperplastic or accessory tonsillar tissue which appears to be reactive rather than hyperplastic.
Obviously no decisions can be made until we have the CT results back. I would just like information from people who have seen the effects of a maxillectomy on a dog. I want to know if it is worth putting my dog through what sounds like a really serious surgery or just giving him his best life until his QOL begins to fade and I need to make the decision to PTS.
ANY information/advice is welcome.
Thank you so much.
