2024.06.02 15:14 Damian_Retter_16 Do you know what happened to Virtual Hypnotist?

For those who don't know,Virtual Hypnotist was an open-source self-hypnosis program that simulated real hypnosis sessions. It allowed users to create customized scripts and included various inductions and suggestions
I installed it recently, but it no longer works. According to Gemeni it is because Adobe Flash Player is no longer available, so I'd like to know if any of you are still able to use it or have found another similar software.

2024.06.02 14:16 CherishedArceus My personal thoughts on the endless change(crossposted from the discord)

My personal thoughts on the endless change(crossposted from the discord)
I would like to give my personal thoughts on the berry update. This text blob is specifically on endless mode, as I think that this is a reasonable change for classic.
Berry pouch nerf: Good overall. I think that basically having a 100% chance to not use up berries was super strong and def a good idea to nerf it to 90% for gameplay reasons.
Berry total nerf(specfically the lum, sitrus and enigma berry nerfs): Horrible. Especially in conjunction with the current state of endless. The fact that we only get 2 lum berries per battle in the later(or even early mid) stages of endless is horrible. Considering the fact that very few strats are viable and the fairly common metal burst/counter coat mons have to take a hit before attacking, and the existence of sleep/freeze tokens, it is almost trivial for a bit of bad luck to instantly kill a run. The fact that sitrus/enigma berries are nerfed falls under the same category is part of a similar point, as it becomes much riskier to heal back up after repeated non attack turns due to freeze(or even worse, sleep). I feel like in order for this change to be reasonable it would require a complete rework(or removal) of all the status tokens, or even just the sleep/freeze ones. Otherwise, I think that the berry reduction should be reverted, and we should be able to have 10 of each berry again.
I would just like to clarify that I'm not a super experienced endless player, and while I do have a semi longish endless run going due to wanting to farm shinies, that's the only real reason why I play endless in it's current state. If any more experienced endless players wish to correct something I've said please feel free!
As a side note, in what order do the tokens check for status conditions? I am unsure but in my experience I get slept or frozen way more than I get burned or paralysed(poison is irrelevant for me because I use a steel type)
EDIT: To give an example of why I think this is a bad change, let me showcase a reasonably possible endless turn. Pictured below is my main endless breaker, a mega aggron/garganacl fusion. The main idea of this fusion is to use metal burst to reflect damage back onto attackers in order to bypass the whole "I'm going to have a bunch of protection and endure tokens lmao" thing. While this is not the only strategy that is used in endless, it is a fairly common one (more experienced endless players can say exactly how common but in my personal experience I've seen a lot of endless runners use a similar strat). Salt cure is for the percent damage part. Protect is used to proc lefties for the next turn. Recover exists. Thought I would need it, don't have a better move to replace it. The main problem with this strategy(aside from multi hit/mold breaker) is status. Due to mega aggronacl having to move AFTER my opponent, I am vulnerable to being hit with status conditions such as burn, sleep, freeze and paralysis (not poison, steel type pokemon babyyyy). With the previous endless (effectively infinite berries, capped at 10) this was no issue. I could just tank a hit, hope I metal burst back, if I don't (either due to sleep, freeze without unthaw, or para without hit) then I just protect, wait for my sturdy to come back online, then try again. Rinse and repeat. A boring strategy but any endless strat is rinse and repeat with the current state of the gamemode. This strategy is now no longer reasonable to pull off. Any unlucky status pull (a bunch of times where I can't attack, see conditions above) can instantly ruin my run if mega Aggronacl doesn't proc berry pouch. This is not acceptable. Any of the changes made individually would have been fine (berry pouch nerf means that this strat is more vulnerable to RNG but does give leeway as you still have 10 lum/sitrus/enigma berries, while the berry cap nerf is more or less effective berry count as previously due to pouch being 99% proc chance) but both at once completely ruins this strategy.

My Own Use Case Study for Viddyoze as a Beta Tester

As a beta tester for Viddyoze, I had the opportunity to experience the power of this video creation platform firsthand. Initially, I was skeptical about how an AI-powered tool could produce high-quality videos without the need for extensive video editing skills. However, Viddyoze quickly shattered my preconceptions.
One of the first things I noticed was the sheer ease of use. Within minutes of accessing the platform, I was able to create my first video by simply providing a prompt to Viddybot. The resulting video was not only visually appealing but also accurately captured the essence of my request.
Over the course of my beta testing, I experimented with various types of videos, from product demos and explainer videos to social media ads and animated intros. Each time, I was impressed by Viddyoze's ability to deliver professional-quality results with minimal effort on my part.
What particularly stood out to me was the platform's extensive customization options. While the AI-generated videos were already impressive, I could fine-tune them even further by adjusting colors, fonts, images, and animations to align seamlessly with my brand's identity.
The Brand Library and Auto-Populate features were game-changers in terms of consistency and efficiency. By storing my brand assets in the library, I could ensure that every video I created adhered to my brand's guidelines, without having to manually incorporate these elements each time.
One of the most significant advantages of using Viddyoze was the time and cost savings it provided. As a small business owner, I previously had to rely on outsourcing video production or investing in expensive software and equipment. With Viddyoze, I could create high-quality videos in-house, saving me both time and money while maintaining complete control over the creative process.
Overall, my experience as a beta tester for Viddyoze was overwhelmingly positive. The platform not only delivered on its promises but also exceeded my expectations in terms of ease of use, customization options, and the quality of the resulting videos.

2024.06.02 12:07 xFrost_bittenx What are you doing to Prepare?

Tbh we have at minimum 7 months not knowing the exact date of wilds other than the year. I am curious on how you guys are going to handle the rest of the year or you have any ideas or theory's on what to do while we wait?
Personally I am thinking what weapons I should main or bring along and will depend on if I am in multi-player or not and also depending if they add the decoration from rise that keeps you from flinching teammates.
Personally I have been replaying MH4U but I still am going to be using world to try out some other weapons to be sure of what weapons I think I will have on my mount for the best combos I am going to simi base it on the fact maybe your secondary weapons can have their own decos but no change in armor set. This could mean that a good sloted weapon can for example you can have a weapon based buff that could assist your non main upon such as maybe some extra KO for a easy stun, part breaker to get easy parts early game if its not on your main set, or some status up skill for a easy Para, or even just a simple Horn maestro skill on a HH so your buffs stay longer on you and your team before you swap back? I feel your secondary will be part of your load out which means it will come sloted while in the hunt? Theorys?
Personally I have been thinking of things I can do and what would work best in certain situations. Like HH secondary for buffs and mainlt ground monsters(depending on the HH I have because I main LS normally), possible insect glave for tedious flying monsters (also dependant on what game it's modeled after and the type of mount the game has which I assume will be world based so glave may be huge in the game?), or LBG for easy status and possible KO depending on if I am in a solo hunt etc. This will effect what I use so I have the best team work.
This game looks like there will be a lot of multi monster attacks on the hunters so I think some movement of areas may be needed so I think good mobility and map knowledge are gonna be key. This way we can all work together to separate herds while keeping the damage input high to keep hunt times low. I think when we learn more on the environment it may change what each weapons job will be. As we saw in the trailer you can shoot on a mount what if you had a agro skill(if it comes back from rise) and you can distract or lead a monster while mounted on your own to help your team while keeping damage. It's also possible that I think all focus modes will have their own moves to help against attacks in their own way but as we saw the GS can block a monster and hold it in place(which I assume will be a tap A or wiggle the Left stick kind of thing and maybe if you win you can get a topple) but this will have your heavy hitters hold the monster in some cases so you can do what you need so a hammer could work on a KO while the GS holds the monster and a LS could work on a tail cut. I think this could change the team dynamic in a good way and allow players to get easier part breaks and manage windows of damage. I will need to see more game play like all of you but this could be beautiful!
Honestly I have not been this excited to have a game release in a long time I would love to hear your plans on this!

2024.06.02 06:51 Empoleon-Is-Cool I got stuck on one battle in Emerald's Battle Factory for 13 hours that I thought would go on forever

This was easily one of my worst gaming experiences of my life so I have to write about it because it never dawned on me once that something like this could happen, but I got stuck in what was essentially, for the longest time at least, an infinite loop. I'm on round 6 of the Battle Factory, only a few battles away from my gold symbol battle which I still need to get. My team is Dusclops-2, Tyranitar-4, and Kingdra-2, although in this particular battle I, for one reason or another, was forced to only use Dusclops, I was up against two Pokemon that don't matter and Steelix-2, I'll include the Dusclops-2 and Steelix-2 sets below as these are the key players that began a 13 hour long struggle for victory.
Dusclops-2 @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure Level: 100 EVs: 170 HP / 170 Def / 170 SpD Impish Nature -Toxic -Confuse Ray -Double Team -Protect
Steelix-2 @ Leftovers Ability: Rock Head Level: 100 EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SpD Hardy Nature -Earthquake -Dragon Breath -Sandstorm -Block
My Dusclops is my lead Pokemon and how you play it is pretty simple, you go Toxic -> Protect -> Confuse Ray -> Protect -> Double Team -> Protect -> Double Team -> Protect. Rinse and repeat as needed for a new Pokemon or if confusion wears off on the Pokemon you're facing, but it's pretty simple. This set combined with its bulk, Protect, and Leftovers is hard to get rid of. I easily swept the first two mons with this set, one of them was a Miltank and I don't remember the other. The Steelix came out last, and I'm admittedly stupid because I could've easily made a swap to Kingdra here, tanked one attack, and then probably OHKOed with Surf, but I figured I'll stay in with Dusclops until he kills me to get the free switch and worst case scenario I can always PP stall him. This was my biggest mistake, because I had no clue he had Block, so he used Block and forced me to stay in, now keep in mind by this point I have several Double Teams up, so he's barely getting hits off on me, I'm using whatever moves I'm able to until they all run out of PP, his Steelix is forced to do the same, and not too long after I ran out of PP entirely and he followed shortly behind. So now we're both using Struggle, this is where it gets nightmarish.
I forgot to mention until now, but my Dusclops was paralyzed by a previous Pokemon, don't remember what it was, but somehow I got paralyzed, I'm also max evasion, so what this means is Steelix is missing most of his Struggles, I'm not connecting with like half of mine due to full paralysis, AND we both have Leftovers. So this never-ending cycle of Struggle followed by Leftover heals continued, for 13 whole hours, it appeared that as long as I connected with my Struggles, I was making ground on his healthbar, as in, if he started at full health, and I hit a Struggle, his Leftovers wouldn't quite heal him back to full health, so I was making maybe 1-3 HP of positive ground per Struggle. The problem was every time I got full para'd I'd lose like, probably 5 turns worth of progress? I could make that up with the occasional crit and also any time he connected with a Struggle (which was rare because of my maxed out evasion), the recoil he'd take would assist me in making positive ground. At about the 2 hour mark I had him in the low orange, almost red, so I was feeling positive this battle was going to be winnable, and then over the course of the next few hours I had the worst RNG imaginable, four full para's in a row, he's missing basically every Struggle, and after awhile he literally ends up back to full health. It continued for so long I had to put my DS Lite on a charge overnight so I could sleep, I finally finished the battle despite all odds the next day after a few lucky crits on both sides that helped get Steelix into the red and I swear I did like 20 rounds without getting a single full para, and I don't think the win would've been possible without that good luck at the end.
I saved a recording of the battle on Emerald but I'm genuinely afraid to view it because I think it might be too big for the game to handle, this battle easily went hundreds of turns, at least 500+ turns if I had to guesstimate. I felt like I was trapped in an infinite loop, but I didn't wanna forfeit or turn my game off and lose the streak, so I continued spamming the A button and letting my Dusclops Struggle its way to victory. I never want to experience something like this ever again. It was very demotivating when he got back to full health after I chipped away so hard to get him into the low orange, but because of that I was able to keep going, knowing that eventually he's going to lose. Struggle is seriously flawed if two bulky Pokemon with Leftovers get locked into a Struggle war, Struggle needs to snowball like Toxic damage, where each Struggle is stronger than the last, to prevent Leftovers from out-healing the damage, this battle has also made me extremely aware of the fact that Leftovers are way too good, almost game-breaking, and probably should be nerfed as well, because a battle like this shouldn't be allowed to happen and had it been two Aggrons I don't think it would've ever ended, literally.
In the end, by winning this battle and preserving my streak, I did end up getting my gold symbol in that same run so it ended up being worth it to tough it through this battle to preserve the streak after all. So all worked out well in the end.

2024.06.02 04:33 zer0xhunterr Let's talk about the SAS series.

This post is here to address some of the frustrations about the SAS:ZA series.
DISCLAIMER: I am not involved with Ninja Kiwi in any way, I'm not a game designer and have limited knowledge of software development and such. I'm just someone who's been in and out of the community since around 2013 (holy its been over a decade).
We'll start with the facts, and only address SAS4 and SAS5 for now: - SAS4 was released in May 2014 as open-beta on the Ninja Kiwi website as a flash game (this is important as adobe flash player had a whole host of problems, mainly lag and security issues) - Mobile and Steam versions were released soon after, built on a completely separate platform - This means that the flash version, and the mobile/steam version were split into 2 separate games. I will refer to this as the steam version, but they are essentially the same thing. Whilst the base game remains the same, there are differences between them, which I won't go into as its not really relevant. - I don't know the exact date since I have no internal information, but it seems around 2016 Ninja Kiwi made a conscious effort to transition away from online, website hosted flash games to mobile and steam releases. This was a small negative for the small dedicated community they had built up over the years through the flash games but this was of course the only path they could take as flash was a doomed platform. - The last update for SAS4 flash was on the 17th June 2016, with Ninja Kiwi releasing a statement some time after officially confirming that would be the final update and they would be focusing on other projects. - The only real information regarding SAS5 is that it's not off the cards, but isn't the focus right now (If anyone has better information, please correct me in the comments)
Now lets talk about where we are today. The steam version of SAS4 received a couple of updates with actual content in 2022, but with no further news we can assume it most like won't happen again. The flash version actually had its multiplayer servers shut down in the same timeframe but is still playable thanks to a player called GLENN M who is currently hosting multiplayer servers for several of Ninja Kiwi's older flash games (AKA doing gods work). Many players have been extremely frustrated with the lack of attention given to the game and there have been many requests for SAS5 over the years, but as previously mentioned, there is very little news and seems that Ninja Kiwi is not working on currently.
OR ARE THEY?? 2 months ago, Ninja Kiwi posted this https://www.reddit.com/NinjaKiwiOfficial/comments/1c0ziew/ninja_kiwi_is_teaming_up_with_autoattack_games/ on the reddit. It has no information about SAS, but details 2 things: 1 - They are working on 3 new games 2 - Their identity as a company is very important to them (stick with me on this one) Lets address the 3 games first. One is obviously Bloons Card Storm, but the other 2 remain unnamed. I'll leave the copium to others, but there is a small possibility that one of those games could be SAS5. IF it were, this means nothing for potential release dates as we don't have any idea of what phase of production the game is in, it could be 2 months from closed beta, or 2 months into putting the ideas onto a whiteboard (again, not a game developer, I don't know the process).
Now lets talk about the second part. This part is all going to be speculation on my side, so feel free to discuss it and other opinions in the comments. I would say that the move from flash to other platforms must have been challenging for Ninja Kiwi to execute, and they've done an exceptional job of evolving their company to not only survive, but thrive. Unfortunately this does mean leaving a lot of us OG flash players behind so to speak, but it's realistically mostly in terms of the SAS series. As previously mentioned, the 2 versions of the game are quite different, (I personally hate the fact that I can't craft gear in steam, and crit seems to not work properly) so it kind of leaves a bit of a sour taste for some players to switch over. Now then. Let's talk about the problems of actually making SAS5. - It won't be anywhere near as popular as anything in the bloons franchise, so it's not the best financial decision to make (again, complete guess, I might be completely wrong and I really do hope I am) - Making another top-down shooter game just won't float today. Some of us might hate to talk about it, but the game has to be extremely monetizable to be worth creating. That means premium items yes, but also skins. How do you see skins in a top down shooter? So clearly SAS5 must evolve past a top-down shooter, whether that be some kind of mixed perspective or just a full 3-d first person shooter (highly unlikely, since that's just not Ninja Kiwi's identity) - From my guess, It would take a significant effort to make SAS5 on these newer platforms, one which is most likely a highly unreasonable business decision to make (yes, Ninja Kiwi is a company and therefore needs to make money.)
So to conclude, SAS5 will be take up too much resources and (at least at first) not bring in enough money for Ninja Kiwi to be able to consider it. However I have full confidence that if there was any possible way to do it, they would. I may have come across as critical on Ninja Kiwi here, but I fully understand and agree with the decisions and directions they have taken in a post-flash era. They can't be constantly catering to us OG players on a dead platform, and even though I've grown up and mostly moved on, I can't help but keep coming back. That's what Ninja Kiwi is. They hold a special place in my heart that can't ever be changed and I will always support them even when I'm old and gray. Who knows, maybe SAS5 will be out by then.
I originally was going to make a post just detailing out some ideas I had for SAS5, but as I kept thinking about it, I realised this is a much more important topic to go over. I'll leave the actual game design to the game designers. (Just please put in level 200 characters xd?)

2 years with my GTX 1650 Laptop 🔥
After 2 years of having my laptop it still runs really good. 35 fps medium- high settings in cyberpunk. 90 fps on XDefiant. 150 fps on BF4. I’ve played over 2.5k hours with this thing and I love it. I’m going to upgrade to an RTX 4050 later this year!
