It’s weird that when you’re growing up you don’t realize how odd and fucked up your life is until you are in a “normal” environment. I grew up in basically a functioning drug house, with alcoholic/ drug addicted parents who happen to also be abusive. But I also was also bulled at school. So I have this weird mix of crazy story’s that just seem made up. For example In the first grade a was mostly non verbal due to crippling anxiety but would talk on occasion, one kid took advantage of this and would follow me into the playground bathrooms or push me down and over power me in the hallway and then proceed to touch me inappropriately, I would cry and he would say shit like “ if you tell on me, I’ll tell on you” scared my parents would hit me I never told anyone about these incidents.
Another example
My father worked night shift and when he got home at 3/4:00 in the morning he would check on me. He would turn on the lights in my room causing me to jurk awake, but if I didn’t wake up or react he would pull the covers off of my bed grab one arm pick me up and violently shake me until I awoke. He did this until I was 18.
These are just two instances of literal hundreds of memories of just weird shit that’s happened. Even as an 28 year old adult I seem to attract weird people. It’s like they can smell anxiety/ depression/ previous abuse.

I have an older pioneer ddj-sr . I also have an MPC one. I am from the old school, and make beats the old fashioned way, by sampling right into the MPC I used the dj controller as you would an old turntable/mixer combo, then to the MPC to sample. I work completely Dawless. except for Serato. THEN, finished product, I just use the aux in on the Pioneer controller and will record the track in Serato ,. they are really only for me to hear anyway, not going pro here.
my issue is this, as of last night, when I plug the MPC into the aux rca jack and hit play on the MPC , there is a lot of noise coming thru that was never there before. 2024.05.20 08:47 tabascojizz AITAH (28F) for being mad at my boyfriend (30M) for getting so drunk we had to go home?
Context is that we were supposed to go to day 3 of a music festival and he pregamed so hard that while we were in line for transport to the festival grounds, he basically couldn’t stand up straight and insisted on going home. Immediately after we got out of the line he proceeded to puke everywhere in front of other bystanders and basically getting it all over himself…then we sat down for a bit before making the trek back to the hotel and he puked on the ground some more (throwing up his entire food intake for the day essentially and again, getting some on himself). We traveled a long way for this and I was already sad about having to end the weekend, and now feel robbed of my last day experience sitting at the hotel with him while he puked some more - in the shower instead of the toilet, so we could be facing a cleaning charge - and then passed our while I just laid in bed feeling upset that at that moment I could have been having the time of my life.
I don’t want to sound cold but he is a grown ass man at 30 and I think it’s reasonable to expect someone of that age / with plenty of experience with alcohol to understand your own limits and pace yourself, especially knowing today was the last day and we don’t get a redo. I was livid when we came back to the hotel only to find a handle of tequila basically finished by himself single-handedly, and cups of what smelled like straight tequila. I’m also annoyed that as he gets kind of immature when drinking, he wasn’t necessarily apologetic to the situation and basically tried to trick me into thinking he showered the puke off before climbing into bed (when really he had already clogged the shower with the remainder of his puke food mixture). I wouldn’t say he binge drinks like this often, but he definitely can get pretty incoherent while others in his groups seem to be functioning pretty well on night outs. I will also come home to find him a little tipsy on a casual Sunday night while he’s having beers with football, but maybe I just don’t understand as I’m not a big drinker myself. Dad of a 4th grader here that would love your advice! My kid's school was short of male chaperones for an overnight trip (a couple nights, outdoor center), and wanting to redeem myself for the pain I caused to my chaperones as a kid, I decided to sign up.
But... I'm now concerned about what lies ahead of me :) So a few questions:

But... I'm now concerned about what lies ahead of me :) So a few questions:
- I'm sure you have a lot of tales of horrible (or amazing) parent volunteers in your many school trips. What can I do to be of most help to the staff without overstepping, while providing a good experience to the kids? Some things are obvious, but I suspect there's some that are not. Would love suggestions!
- From what I know of the outdoor program, the sleeping arrangement involves a giant room with bunk beds for all males (chaperones, staff as well as the boys), and another giant room for all females, in a fairly rural setting. Any trick to handling bed time, the night, and having a pleasant few days? If you're wondering why I'm asking this question: 1. I did the mistake of searching for "chaperone" on Teachers and most are horror stories. 2. From my first grade up to high school I went to multiple overnight trips every year with similar arrangements between scouts, church retreats (I was a kid...) and summer sleep away camps. I still remember the first night in a big room with all my friends, ... it was always a lot of fun for us boys, but not as much for the chaperones or staff. It seems like this will be a good and easy group of kids, but I remember when I was a kid we all kept goofing around until one of the nuns started crying in a nervous outbreak, or the many pranks we played with toothpaste and water as soon as someone fell asleep. But I also remember some chaperones reading stories, or getting us excited to play board games in secret after lights out (it was all a ruse in hindsight of course, but it kept us as quiet as possible, and satisfied our desire to break the rules?), or doing some very active games past dinner and before bed time so we would crash into bed talking about the exciting day while quickly falling asleep. In middle school, I also remember we were broken up in teams with some scoring system, and behavior at night was rewarded with more or less points... which egregiously backfired (but that's a story for a different post). So, do you have any tricks here? something that worked well for you? something that did not work?
- My guess is that for at least 30-40% of the kids it will be the first overnight experience without parents away from home. What can I do to make it easier or better for the kids? I don't see myself with my low voice, thick accent and lack of sense of humor give an inspiring pep talk, but I do have good memories of some of our leaders or chaperones breaking the ice at night with a good talk when getting changed for the first time, or just laying out the rules to make sure everyone was respectful - no matter the pajama style, morning routine, or need for a lovey - watching out for bullying, or generally being there if we needed help.

How do you get ahead, make friends, or even find your niche at the office/industry? I’m 35, have an advanced theological degree, but work in finance, so I’m not very corporate at heart. I like to read (mostly classics, professional/personal development, or finance, currently) and write (in a journal). Travel and travel photography are a fairly signifiant part of my life too. But mostly I think I travel to try new foods. I’m very social and can typically carry on a conversation. But to do that, I think I need reciprocal curiosity, some shared interests/values, and a matched energy. Most of all, I am looking for consistency (not hot and cold communication) once we get a good chat or two under our belts. Sorry those who self-identify as “nerds” primarily, but I’m not one. But if you’re social and think you’re easy to talk to, feel free to reach out. Just so you’re not surprised, I’m 5’5, Asian-American, average weight.

I'm coming back to the game after a hiatus of numerous years, like 2017 I think. Jesus fuck this is frustrating.
I USED to be good at this game, but I cannot survive the early game anymore. Food pressure requires constant nomad lifestyle, crafting everything takes multiple nights, I can never find enough string for more than 1 or 2 new stone tools per day, and I have to carry everything in my inventory because I have no fucking storage. I'm discarding awesome loot like early random leathers, iron armor, spider eyes, witchworts, slimeballs, because I can't fucking carry it all. If I don't kill every animal on sight, I lose it to mobs overnight, and if I DO kill them all, my inventory overflows. Oh, and the only source of sinew is cows, which are impossible to kill and it takes all night to craft a single strand.
I can EITHER keep moving, HOPE I can fashion a new hidey hole every night and MAYBE find enough food; or, instead, I can craft and work toward advancing my tech. Even if I lay out bricks to dry for an oven, I can't afford to come back to retrieve them because I need to keep finding un-killed animals for food.
So many changes! And early game food is a LOT more punishing now. Used to be that renewable food was fairly achievable, with some luck:

- eventually that egg would yield your second chicken
- torches were all permanent, and self-liighting, with regular coal

this happened over a week ago. i’m not underage but my bf is out of town. i live w his fam as i’ve left my parents house and been there for over 2 years. i personally don’t feel that applies to the full context of the scenario but i felt the need to say so.
idek how to get into detail bc it makes me uncomfortable to think about, but i will try my best.
i’d gotten home on a friday night after a long week of work so i was laying in bed on my phone when their dad comes upstairs and is jokingly like “what are u doing?” i said “nothing i’m just chillin watching videos on my phone”(mind you he’d already been upstairs to check on me like an hour before to see if i was ok, which i said yes im fine and that was kinda it.) so he comes into the room and he’s like “what are u doing” again. i said “nothing i’m just on my phone” and he’s like “what are u watching porn?” while he’s laughing and i laughed too and said “wtf no i’m just watching videos”. he comes up and looks at my phone so i show him the ig reel i was watching. he sits on the bed kinda close to me, i don’t question it bc he’s sat on the bed while my bf is there just like that. mind u i’m still in my clothes i wore to work and my pants are unbuttoned out of trying to be comfortable (if that makes sense). i have tattoos on me, so he sees them on my hip and reaches and starts tugging my pants a little to look at it. he said “oh that’s cool, is it just the one?” i said “no there’s another one below.” at this point i’m already feeling uncomfortable and he goes “oh let me see” and reaches again to tug at my pants but i showed him really quick myself and he still reaches and is pulling at my pants more. then he goes to my other hip and tugs at my pants and asks “do u have more on that side?” i said no. he’s still touching me. he has his hand on my belly now and points to my belly button piercing and he’s like “oh that’s cool.” at this point i start recording on my phone bc idk wtf is happening or what to do or say.
this is where i’m confused on if i reacted correctly.
he reaches his hand up my shirt to about the middle of my chest and i sat up. i’m like laughing bc idk what to do and he starts asking me if im uncomfortable and im like no it’s fine but i turned away from him. he says, at least twice, “am i making u uncomfortable? just say yea and i’ll stop.” so i finally said “yea im gonna go to the bathroom.” he calls my name as im walking away and says he’s sorry he wasn’t trying to make me uncomfortable. he was kinda behind me and just says he’s sorry for making me feel uncomfortable and gives me a hug. at this point, i close and lock the bathroom door.
i did tell my bf about the incident but i no longer feel comfortable around his father. idk what to do.

i was going to therapy a few years back and i feel like this might be the pushing point for me to go back.

I'm asking because we'll...I've had unpleasant experiences working. Basically I did retail and every time it ended bad. Meaning I had a diffcult time problem solving with very angry customers and I always had to go to the manager or another staff member to problem solve it. I notice myself would get highly anxious when a customer would get furious. I also had diffculttly handing out money and made a few mistakes at the beginning but then eventually got the hang of it and was okay. However the managers would get frustrated at me unable to learn quickly enough and would threat at me I will lose my job, which would end in tears.
I did try to do 2D animation a course I did. However I always got confused with the number system and always asked friends to help me but they ended up got frustrated at me. Also hearing the sounds of flipping pages when people were animating annoyed the crap out of me.
I did try to do acting! I ended up sadly with a abusive toxic drama teacher, confirm by my therapist that told me they were abusive. Pretty much the drama teacher told me I was "low middle class" the way I spoke. Also told me when I did a short film with the teacher that I was responsible setting tone on set and it was my fault why the crew were distracted. He also question my religious beliefs which was werid because we were suppose to talk about drama. At the end I stopped going, I would end up leaving class in tears.
I thought to work at a libraby because my mum worked there and I thought "yeah I be safe, I won't lose my job here". I did shelving first and then I got involved helping out with kids events say Chinese New Year and made over 60 masks of the year of the Sheep one year. I also go involed with Halloween event and design the games and make the decorations etc. However!!! yet again it went down hill. I was working to becoming a Libraian assistant, at the time their was this manager we will name them Annie and she understood about my learning diffculties and that it would take me time to learn but I would eventually get it. Though when she retired it all went to hell! new manager was unaware about my learning diffculties. I was accused by staff putting books away wrongly. Also when I hand out change to the customers I was just dollar short, and the whole staff freak out like I had covid. And it eventually ended up some gossip session and went to team leader. I ended up doing compute program we all had to do for the libraby and I failed at that. The teacher told the manager I was incapable and my mother wasn't in the know until a friend at work told her. I wasn't told this and found out through my mum. My mum told me how the new manager told my mum I should work at some clothes shop. Which hurt hearing this I was then gonna be "WATCH" by the new manager behind the desk serving customers, I was so afarid and scared I will fail. I went to my mum in her office crying and she just went up to me and told me angrily "your not to suppose to cry here. I fear you to go to the manager and resigned from your position and say don't ask questions". I did that what my mum told me to do. After that I couldn't go to the libraby and shelve I felt so hurt and felt people were watching me. I ended up just not working anymore.
I did try to do art class online through a friend and we'll sadly I ended up doing everything. And my friend didn't do anything and I had to pull out and I wasn't being paid for it, since my friend at the time seem obsessed with doing it for free.
I'm now lost and depressed not sure what to do for my career. I haven't worked for 8 years due to my mental health and having therapy. Now I feel aimless and not sure what is point in life when you don't have direction.
My skills pretty much is Art. I do portraits. Pencil and traditional oil. I like to do illustrations and cartoons and I do that digitally. More than one therapist told me I'm empathic so I guess that is a skill. Usually I get people tell me their problems just randomly, and people who worked for years didn't have a clue what was going on for that person. and I like to make stories. I have a strong visual memory and imagation as well.
So I'm not sure what to do. I'm just so afarid if I do something again that I will fail. It almost feels like some werid curse. Any ideas?.

I have the opportunity to pursue one of the following degrees for free. I ranked them in order of most interested to least interested, but am wondering what would provide the best income/opportunities, and also curious about the job stability and future outlook. The top two degrees interest me the most. Curious to hear from people with some knowledge or experience related to these fields. They are all associate in applied science degree programs. I know more education may be required for some of these career paths but figured an AAS might be a good start.

Never posted on here before, but I’m looking for some advice. I’ve been on T for a little over 3 years. I started noticing hair loss around 2.5 years in. My hairline receded, my crown has thinned. When I would shower, I noticed so much shedding like I’ve never seen before. My hair truly isn’t THAT bad, but it was super worrying when I first saw it. My family has NO history of balding.
2 months ago, my doctor moved and I ran out of T. I haven’t had the time to find a new doctor so I haven’t had T for 2 months and I have noticed my hair has started to fall out less now (especially in the shower). I feel like it’s also thickened up a bit, but this could be my imagination. I’m just thankful the shedding seems to be lessening.
I’m 22 years old. I pass extremely well. I’ve been stealth for 3 years and no one has ever questioned or misgendered me. I’m relatively healthy, I lift 5-6 days a week and cardio almost everyday. I eat over 130g of protein everyday. I take a multi-vitamin and fish oil.
Some things I’ve noticed being off T:
Voice: No change at all
Body: I personally feel like I’m getting curvier, but I genuinely think this is my body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria playing with my mind. I’ve never really even been curvy to begin with. I have gained a lot of muscle since starting testosterone and most of it if not all is maintaining very well. I lift the same weights I did before, but I have a fear that if I stop a few days all of my muscle will just disappear. I’m still just as vascular on my arms.
Body haiFacial hair: All the same - no loss
Skin: I never had bad skin but I would occasionally get pimples on my back or chest (I’ve had keyhole surgery 2.5 years ago). My skin has cleared up and it feels softer on my body.
Face: Looks the same honestly. I don’t see much difference but it helps that I have facial hair.
I can’t think of any other changes, but feel free to ask.
I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. I’m unsure if I will go back on T or just see how I feel further on without it. If I did decide to go back on T, does anyone have any experience with finnestride?

I also had diffculttly handing out money and made a few mistakes at the beginning but then eventually got the hang of it and was okay. However the managers would get frustrated at me unable to learn quickly enough and would threat at me I will lose my job, which would end in tears.
I did try to do 2D animation a course I did. However I always got confused with the number system and always asked friends to help me but they ended up got frustrated at me. Also hearing the sounds of flipping pages when people were animating annoyed the crap out of me.
I did try to do acting! I ended up sadly with a abusive toxic drama teacher, confirm by my therapist that told me they were abusive. Pretty much the drama teacher told me I was "low middle class" the way I spoke. Also told me when I did a short film with the teacher that I was responsible setting tone on set and it was my fault why the crew were distracted. He also question my religious beliefs which was werid because we were suppose to talk about drama. At the end I stopped going, I would end up leaving class in tears.
I thought to work at a libraby because my mum worked there and I thought "yeah I be safe, I won't lose my job here". I did shelving first and then I got involved helping out with kids events say Chinese New Year and made over 60 masks of the year of the Sheep one year. I also go involed with Halloween event and design the games and make the decorations etc. However!!! yet again it went down hill. I was working to becoming a Libraian assistant, at the time their was this manager we will name them Annie and she understood about my learning diffculties and that it would take me time to learn but I would eventually get it. Though when she retired it all went to hell! new manager was unaware about my learning diffculties. I was accused by staff putting books away wrongly. Also when I hand out change to the customers I was just dollar short, and the whole staff freak out like I had covid. And it eventually ended up some gossip session and went to team leader. I ended up doing compute program we all had to do for the libraby and I failed at that. The teacher told the manager I was incapable and my mother wasn't in the know until a friend at work told her. I wasn't told this and found out through my mum. My mum told me how the new manager told my mum I should work at some clothes shop. Which hurt hearing this I was then gonna be "WATCH" by the new manager behind the desk serving customers, I was so afarid and scared I will fail. I went to my mum in her office crying and she just went up to me and told me angrily "your not to suppose to cry here. I fear you to go to the manager and resigned from your position and say don't ask questions". I did that what my mum told me to do. After that I couldn't go to the libraby and shelve I felt so hurt and felt people were watching me. I ended up just not working anymore.
I did try to do art class online through a friend and we'll sadly I ended up doing everything. And my friend didn't do anything and I had to pull out and I wasn't being paid for it, since my friend at the time seem obsessed with doing it for free.
I'm now lost and depressed not sure what to do for my career. I haven't worked for 8 years due to my mental health and having therapy. Now I feel aimless and not sure what is point in life when you don't have direction.
My skills pretty much is Art. I do portraits. Pencil and traditional oil. I like to do illustrations and cartoons and I do that digitally. More than one therapist told me I'm empathic so I guess that is a skill. Usually I get people tell me their problems just randomly, and people who worked for years didn't have a clue what was going on for that person. and I like to make stories. I have a strong visual memory and imagation as well.
So I'm not sure what to do. I'm just so afarid if I do something again that I will fail. It almost feels like some werid curse. Any ideas?.
