Be as critical as possible. Best way to improve. Be harsh
From the day I was born To the day I leave this world I’ll be chewed up and torn And this keeps me fueled I’ve got a chip on my shoulder I cannot compare With each day getting colder I feel the need to share I plead the days go faster I’m forever a **** I’m treated as a slave And the world is my master I tried to stay sane Tired of getting plastered Wired different I feel chained And the world is my master Momma put me down for her bottle I raised myself Ain’t nobody to coddle Feel like a blow below the belt I picked up boxing I do what I can To keep myself sane But at the end of the day I am what I am Grew up without nothing But the shirt on my back In the ghetto by Philly In a one bedroom shack I had perfect grades Top of my class I put down the pencil And picked up the sack I smoked my future away I said **** school I have no leadership to follow How could I follow rules I sit here and wonder What if it wasn’t this way I sit there and laugh Because that’s the life of Sha That’s not just me That’s my whole family line My dad had no dad Why would I have mine Only man to care about me He cared more bout his dealer Till he was driving down that street And hit that four wheeler Why is this me Why is this my life I’ve kept this all bottled It bled out like a knife Every year or two A new man in my life A few that I liked That’s a blatant lie One more year Till i’m on my own terms I’m graduating early To escape this hell cause it burns I want to be a teacher To teach young men To be the exact opposite Of what I am Too many children With no adult guidance Who grew up on streets And saw less love than violence That changes now For my kids and their kids My kids will never say I love my daddy but i don’t don’t know where he is And when I grow up My kids will not say I’m treated like a slave And the world is my master

2024.05.20 06:30 Voxit Champion Pricing

I started playing League back in 2011, played a few years and quit. I've moved to a new region and needed a new account, thought I'd get back into a little bit. I hoped by now it'd be easier to buy champions but I was surprised to find that some champions are still very expensive considering how old they are.
Nami came out in 2012 so it's been about 12 years since her release date but she still costs 3150.
Back in the olden days I know they would lower prices as new champions came out, but is that still a thing? What's the best way for a returning player to start up again?

2024.05.20 06:30 Neowhite33 Feeling lonely and keep thinking back to my first relationship

I (27M) want to get of my chest stuff I hold on and don’t share with anyone. I’ve been alone for about 7 years currently living with my grandparents which I love very much, which helps to fill the void I feel. I fell in love with my ex for the first time and she was almost what I was looking for but we had conflict and we ended the relationship because of it. We planned to go to med school and everything got complicated and we ended up splitting because of it, now she got a different path and a good career I guess and she got married and I think she’s happy. I keep comparing every girl with her, she was smart, funny, she had vision for her life and had the type of body I like. I have plenty of mental blocks like that. I wish I met someone like her in the sense that I can make a deep connection like I did with her, I sometimes fear I won’t. Also I’m unsure about my career and this affects my self esteem. I’m doing a masters in environmental science which I’m passionate but in a sense I fill empty and lost because I don’t have that person behind me giving me support.
I want to mention also that I’m a person with ADD (attention deficit disorder) and really anxious but other than that I’m smart, handsome and fun to be around but still I suffer mentally from loneliness. I can’t seem to meet a new girl, now with the internet there are less ways to meet a girl in persona and have torely on dating apps.
I just want to get it of my chest because this is really troubling me. If any of you have opinions or advice I’ll appreciate it very much.

Has facial scars due to piercings.(Eyebrow piercing on her left eyebrow, snake bites) but hides them especially during work with makeup. Out of work she likes to put her snake bites back in. She’s afraid, due to how high action her job is, that her piercings would quite literally rip off her face. With that being said she wants to get new piercings so bad but there’s a multitude of reasons why she can’t Smaller stature, her body leans more pear shaped. Also considerably lithe. 2024.05.20 06:30 amberisthecolor777 My new psychiatrist thinks I have bipolar?

So, I’ve had two psychiatrists over the past like 7 ish years due to moving to a different location. My first one (who diagnosed me with MDD) I felt understood me best and I had the best relationship with her. After I moved, I was referred to a local psychiatrist. She was okay. Well, for one reason or another, she no longer works at the practice I have been going to so they gave me someone new. She seems like a nice lady. A little bit odd, but nice. Anyways, she thinks because of my family history (lots of bipolar, alcoholism, but also depression too) is in my family. She thinks I have bipolar. I am aware there are two types, but I just don’t think I have it. Generally speaking, I’m pretty consistently controlled or in low energy/tired moods. I sleep ALL of the time. I’m pretty sad most of the time. I don’t really have periods of “mania” I don’t think. I definitely do overspend, but I’m not sure that I would call that a manic episode. My brother definitely has bipolar, and would not sleep for days and that’s when I knew the onset was coming. He would get in trouble with the law all of the time. It was like it is hard for him not to. I also lived with someone who had bipolar and I just don’t think that I have it. I will say, at one point my first psychiatrist put me on generic abilify when I expressed that my Prozac wasn’t fully helping me anymore and I was worried that I could have bipolar at that time. Eventually that didn’t work for me and my newest psychiatrist has put me on lamictal I think it’s called? I honestly feel like it’s made me worse — but I’m not sure what to do from here. I’m meeting with my psychiatrist tomorrow.

2024.05.20 06:29 slplps Debating whether or not to upgrade from an 05 coupe to 24 hatchback

When did you decide to upgrade your civic to a newer model?
I've had my 2005 ex coupe for about 6 1/2 years now. It is the first car I've owned. Bought it with 127000 miles from the original owner. Just broke 200k a few weeks ago. Paint is great, it drives well and has been regularly maintained besides some current minor issues. Lately it has (sporadically) been taking a couple tries to get it started. According to my boyfriend, it is leaking from somewhere.
I really like the styling of the newest gen civic and the modern amenities and safety features. I know it will be infinitely be cheaper to put more money into my current car than to drop 25-30k on a new car.
Do I drive my car into the ground until I absolutely have to buy a new car? Or do I sell it while it's still running?

As an avid interior design enthusiast, I've been continually scouting for ways to spruce up my living space without breaking the bank. I stumbled upon the Dysmio Ceiling Fan Light Covers and let me tell you, they've brought a whole new level of elegance and charm to my home. These small details make a world of difference when it comes to altering the atmosphere of a room.
The Dysmio Ceiling Fan Light Covers are traditional bell-shaped glasses made from clear hammered glass that gently ripples light, casting delicate patterns throughout my space. They've added a touch of sophistication and class that perfectly complements the existing decor. It's amazing how much of a difference a simple replacement of light covers can make in transforming your home's look and feel.
One thing that really stood out for me was the ease of installation. Each cover comes with its own mounting hole, making it a breeze to attach to my ceiling fans, wall lamps, and chandeliers. The standard 2-1/4-inch fitter also ensures versatility, so I didn't have to worry about compatibility issues.
However, the one aspect that could be improved is the size. With a height and depth of 4.75 inches, and a base width of 4.95 inches, they might not be the perfect fit for every type of light fixture. But in my case, they were just the right size to bring a renewed sense of style and ambiance to my living space.
In conclusion, the Dysmio Ceiling Fan Light Covers are an affordable and effective way to breathe new life into your home's lighting fixtures, transforming your living space with elegant and classic charm. I can wholeheartedly recommend these light cover replacements for anyone looking to elevate their interior design without breaking the bank.

🔗Classic Diamond Crystal Ceiling Light Shade

I've recently added the Boao Gold Crystal Lamp Shade to my living room, and I couldn't be happier with the sparkle it brings to the space. This product not only gives off a warm, inviting glow, but it's also incredibly durable. The non-toxic paint ensures that it won't easily rust or fade, making it a great addition to any room.
One thing to note is that the assembly process does require some effort, but once it's up and running, the payoff is worth it. The diamond and cylindrical shape of the lampshade complements a variety of decors, making it a versatile piece to have in your home.
However, keep in mind that the size might not be ideal for those looking to install this in a smaller room or ceiling height. Additionally, the packaging could use some improvement to ensure that the delicate crystal pieces remain intact during shipping.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Boao Gold Crystal Lamp Shade to anyone looking to enhance the ambiance of their living space with a touch of sparkle and elegance.

🔗Clear & Frosted Ceiling Fan Light Cover with Handmade Quality

I recently installed the XIDING Clear & Frosted Ceiling Fans Light Covers Glass Shade in my living room, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my interior lighting. The handmade quality of this glass shade is truly impressive, and it adds a touch of elegance to our ceiling fan.
One of the best things about this glass shade is its compatibility with various ceiling fan light kit products that use a 2-1/8 inch fitter. This made replacing my old, damaged glass shade incredibly easy and straightforward. Plus, the water-resistant material makes cleaning a breeze!
However, it's crucial to correctly measure the inside diameter of your glass holder before purchasing this product. This ensures a perfect fit and avoids any disappointment upon installation. Additionally, although I didn't encounter any issues during installation, it's essential to have an adult on hand to assist with moving and placing the glass shade safely.
Customer satisfaction is a top priority for XIDING. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can request a refund as long as the item and package are in original and perfect condition.
Overall, the XIDING Clear & Frosted Ceiling Fans Light Covers Glass Shade has completely transformed my living space, and I am confident that it will do the same for you. Its durable construction, versatile compatibility, and easy-to-clean surface make it a must-have addition to any home.

My journey with the Turner Light Covers has been nothing short of a breeze. As an avid DIY enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for products that can simplify my home maintenance efforts. This product checks all the boxes - from its sleek, low-profile design to its high-quality construction, it definitely stands out.
What I really dug about the Turner Light Covers is their ease of installation. They come with their own patented trim ring mounting system which makes it incredibly easy to replace bulbs without fumbling around with tools or risking any injuries from hidden pests. The fact that they're compatible with up to 8-inch recessed lights adds to their versatility, making them suitable for both commercial and residential use.
Another key feature of these light covers is their resilience against heat and rust. They're built to handle the harsh outdoor elements, giving you peace of mind knowing they won't degrade over time. Additionally, the transparent screen provides protection without compromising on light output, ensuring your space stays bright and inviting.
However, despite all these positives, I did find one con - the price. It's a bit on the higher side compared to similar products in the market. But given the durability and convenience they offer, I think it's a worthwhile investment.
All in all, the Turner Light Covers have significantly improved my home maintenance experiences, making bulb replacements a hassle-free task. If you're in the market for a high-quality light cover solution, these are definitely worth considering.

Another highlight of the glass shade is the way it beautifully filters the light, casting subtle raindrop-shaped patterns on my walls. It has transformed my space, giving it a touch of romance and artistry that I absolutely adore.
However, one concern I have is its fragility. I would advise handling it with care, as it might break if dropped.

I've recently added a touch of elegance to my living room ceiling fan with Aspen Creative's textured glass bowl light shade. Measuring 4.875 inches in width and 3.875 inches in height, this 2-1/8 inches fitter size glass shade perfectly complements my fan's style.
As an avid DIY enthusiast, I appreciate how easy it is to change the look of my fixtures with this user-friendly glass exchange. While some might argue that the frosted glass option would have been nice, the clarity of this textured glass provides a lovely focal point in my space. Overall, I'm thrilled with this versatile and stylish addition to my home decor.

As a homeowner who recently installed the Tenmat Recessed Light Cover, I can attest to its effectiveness in stopping unwanted air leakage through my recessed lights. I was initially concerned about how compatible these covers would be with my IC-rated recessed lights, but after reading through the installation instructions and checking the specs, I found that they worked perfectly.
The FF130E is made from a fire-safe material and has been tested to meet UL1598 and IEC 60598-1 standards, providing peace of mind when it comes to safety. One of the standout features of this product is its ease of installation; it took me just a few minutes to cover each light without any special tools or assembly required.
Another positive aspect of the Tenmat Recessed Light Cover is its ability to save energy. By providing an airtight seal over my recessed lights, I've noticed a significant reduction in drafts and noise, leading to a more comfortable living space.
However, there is one drawback worth mentioning. Some users might find the product's price point to be slightly higher than other alternatives on the market. Despite this, I believe the quality and performance of the Tenmat FF130E make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to improve their home's energy efficiency and overall comfort.

🔗Stained Glass Light Shade for Chandelier, Wall Sconce or Pendant

I decided to upgrade my lighting fixtures to give my home a new look, which led me to discover the Skelang Glassy Light Shade. Upon receiving it, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful stained glass design in blue and white.
The light shade has a 1-5/8 inch fitter diameter, and it was easy to install on my light fixture with the E26 socket ring. 🔗EZ Shade - Clip-on Ceiling Light Bulb Cover

https://preview.redd.it/3ptd4bv4ei1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68ccb6f3c0e3975714b4f10b0715557e02f8954c
I recently used the EZ Shade Clip on Ceiling Light Bulb Cover in my garage, and I absolutely love it! It was super easy to install, and it completely transformed the look of my garage. The matte white shade covers the exposed bulb and provides a nice, diffused light that's perfect for working on projects.
One of the best things about this product is that it really is "EZ" to install. I mean, it took me less than a minute to clip it onto the bulb – no tools or re-wiring required! The scratch, UV, and shatter-resistant materials make me feel confident that my light bulb is secure and won't cause any safety concerns.
However, there was one minor inconvenience that I experienced. The metal clasp could be a little more versatile in terms of positioning. For instance, I had to bend it slightly to accommodate the shape of my light bulb, but it wasn't a big deal and it didn't affect the overall performance of the product.
I also appreciate the fact that this product is made in the USA by local and family-owned businesses. Plus, each purchase supports the disabled community by providing vocational work. It's a win-win for everyone!
Overall, I am extremely happy with the EZ Shade Clip on Ceiling Light Bulb Cover. It's a simple yet effective solution for covering exposed bulbs and improving the ambiance of any room. I highly recommend giving it a try!

You know how sometimes a simple piece can complete the look of your living space? Well, that's exactly what my Voguad White Opal glass lamp shade did for me. This little glass shield, with its frosted exterior and white opal finish, has the power to transform any room into a warm and inviting haven.
The cylindrical shape is sleek and modern, and it complements a variety of decor styles. It's not just an aesthetic addition though, the white opal glass diffuses light evenly creating a soft glow that's both pleasing to the eyes and perfect for relaxing.
One thing that I really appreciate about the Voguad glass shade is its versatility. It fits perfectly with my wall sconce, ceiling light, chandelier, hanging light, and pendant light fixtures. It's like a wardrobe essential that works with everything in my closet! Plus, the fact that it's 5.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter means it caters to a wide range of lamp base sizes.
The service from Voguad was outstanding too. They offered a 30-day free return and a 24-month free exchange policy, showing that they genuinely care about their customers' satisfaction.
However, it’s not all roses and sunshine. While the glass shade is beautifully designed and built to last, it doesn’t come with any mounting hardware. So, you may need to visit your local hardware store to find the right fitter, especially if you have an older lamp base.
Through and through, I'm thrilled with my Voguad White Opal glass lamp shade. It's been a perfect addition to my home, transforming each room into a warm and inviting space. Despite the lack of mounting hardware, the exceptional design and performance make this glass shade a wise choice for any household.

I recently replaced the old, outdated glass shades on my ceiling fan with the Lamp Replacement for Ceiling Fan - Clear Ribbed, and I must say, I am absolutely thrilled with my decision! The opal white glass offers a soft, diffused light that instantly creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in my living room. What I love most about these glass shades is how versatile they are - not only do they fit perfectly onto my ceiling fan, but they also work seamlessly with my flush mount ceiling lights.
The high-quality glass feels extremely durable and sturdy, and I am confident that they will last for many years to come. Additionally, I am impressed with how easy these shades are to clean and maintain, which is a major plus in my book.
One minor drawback is that the installation process could be made slightly easier, as it was a bit of a challenge to align the shades perfectly. However, this is a relatively small issue in comparison to the overall satisfaction I have with these glass shades.
In conclusion, the Lamp Replacement for Ceiling Fan - Clear Ribbed is an excellent choice for anyone looking to update their ceiling light fixtures with a stylish and functional solution.

2024.05.20 06:29 Patient_Ad3716 My brother is a union plumber, hired me to build a website for a side job business and promote it but worried about potential legal issues...

Found out he's not technically licensed or insured even though his business cards say it and the website I built for him says it. I thought all union plumbepipefitters were licensed... He does commercial plumbing work for extremely big projects in Ohio, new construction but the side jobs would be evening/weekend residential repair and new installation upgrades. He doesn't want to pay taxes on the side jobs so he doesn't want to incorporate with an LLC so this is really challenging for me because in order to promote him or work with Google on targeted ads or do search engine optimization to get him clients I need some kind of business name as a title that he shows up as, whether in targeted Google ads or as one of the Google search engine results or in one of the many business directories for professional plumbers that I need to link his name and website and contact info to in order to make him a top Google search result.
I understand not wanting to pay taxes, especially when he is already in a high tax bracket from making $48 an hour at his regular 9-5 but taxes are a fact of life.. I don't like paying taxes either. Since he doesn't want to get an LLC I need to make sure the business name I use isn't actually registered so he doesn't get sued, I have to worry about whether or not Google and other platforms verify licensure and insurance and incorporation before allowing ads or being added to their directories, it's a frickin mess..
Have any of you guys had a side job business and managed to have your website at the top of Google without incorporating and being licensed and insured? He said he can get insured, that's not an issue but I don't understand why he isn't licensed...is it that hard? How do you make $48 an hour and a union journeyman with 20 years experience but not licensed? He definitely has the training, skill, experience...but years back he was addicted to heroin for a while and got a couple theft charges, does that prevent you from being a licensed plumber in Ohio? He's been clean for many years now...If that's the reason why, I don't know if he's ever checked into whether or not it's a deal breaker for lice sure. The licensing is up to a state board, right? It was a pretty long time ago now, since the theft... Seems like they would license him since he hasn't been in trouble since that fiasco if that were the issue.
But yeah, if anyone is familiar with what my brother is trying to accomplish with his side business or what I'm trying to accomplish helping to promote his side work through the website I designed for him and am looking to promote, any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
Im not a tax accountant but I wish I could convince him to just get an LLC and just pay taxes, would certainly make it easier for me to promote this side business. It seems like he could easily be targeted by the IRS and he wouldn't have protection from getting sued and a lot of jobs wouldn't work out if they are jobs being paid for by insurance companies that probably require work to be done by licensed, insured, plumbers and by someone with a tax id/ with an llc.
Even though he would be paying a lot of tax money, it seems like he could take advantage of a lot of tax write offs. Wouldn't he be able to write off payments for his new truck, a portion of his mortgage payment since some of his house could be claimed as office space, cell phone bill for service calls, gas for service calls, etc? If you have info like that and know real numbers of the savings from tax write offs and real cost numbers of hiring an accountant and things like filing articles of incorporation that could help convince him to do all of this the legit way I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

2024.05.20 06:28 Gridde Awesome post-apocalyptic setting, let down by the ending

I think everyone agrees that the setting for this movie was amazing. Seeing the ruins of mankind's world completely overtaken by nature and becoming part of the landscape was so cool, as was seeing how apes were forming unique cultures of their own. The world was portrayed to seem familiar yet brand new, which was wonderful. I personally could have happily watched the worldbuilding stuff for hours (Life After People but with talking apes? Sign me up).
But was anyone else hugely let down by the human reveal at the end? Just finding out that there's pockets of intelligent humans remaining would be one thing, but to see that they basically appear to be completely identical to modern humans (in terms of speech, style, tech and behaviour) and seem to be thriving even after 300 years of isolation in an underground bunker just felt like it undermined the the post-apocalyptic feeling the rest of the movie had as well as the significance of the timejump
Maybe we've been spoiled by so many bits of great media exploring how mankind would change after massive upheavals like this (Horizon and Fallout being particular standouts), but just the brief glimpse we got of the satellite base seemed like a very unimaginative take. All this combined with the way Mae and Trevathan spoke about the past you'd think the original trilogy only happened a few weeks ago, not centuries.
I'm sure this will be explored more in subsequent movies but (to me anyway) it was an unfortunate way to end an otherwise excellent movie.

2024.05.20 06:28 lady-in-public Repeat guests asking us to buy a new couch before their next booking with us (1 month away)

Weird situation unfolding today...
We recently hosted a couple in our upscale penthouse. We took great care in buying high end furniture that was comfortable and stylish, and could handle some wear and tear. We bought a $3600 couch from Moe's furniture, as it fits the space, is my favorite couch to use and it's modular and can be converted into a few different options.
Guest checked out yesterday after a 4 day stay. They seemed pleasant and polite and we had no issues with the guest. They booked another stay with us a month away, during their stay. Yay! They posted a review, so we sent a five star review.
Their rating was 5 stars across the board but they wrote public comments and complaints "we told the host they need to buy a new couch before our next stay". What? Sure enough, they sent a private note as well saying 'buy a new couch."
This couch is under a year old and beautiful and we have multiple reviews and comments specifically mentioning the cozy and comfy couch, and the couch is fabulous and two people could sleep on it if it's pushed together with the Ottoman. This is not an Ikea couch. There is nothing wrong with the couch.
The husband of the guest is 6'6, I mean he is very tall. This is not his fault or ours. Apparently the wife is complaining that it was uncomfortable for him to get off the couch as it's a lower profile. I have 20 pictures showcasing the couch from multiple angles. Its very obvious it's a lower profile style.
We sent her a message asking if she can please remove the review and maybe contact support about relocating to a more suitable location. Free of charge!
No. She wants us to buy them a new couch for their upcoming three day stay.
We are Superhosts, don't want to cancel or get dinged in search results.
Is there any way we can get air bnb to move them to a different location? Can airbnb say it's not possible?
I am very very reluctant to host them as I feel we are being set up for a bad review. We take great pride in our five stars and guest favorite ranking as it's a very competitive market in our area.
What can we actually do without getting dinged or buying a new couch?
Honestly if they demanded a new mattress I would have thought about it haha but this couch is fabulous!
Who demands a couch?

Cracked skimmer, compromised wood for liner track....what to do
Im guessing my pool is roughly 35 years old (same age as the house) and has concrete pour for walls. New liner was installed last month which in hindsight, I should have waited. Nevertheless, liner was installed and afterwards I decided to have the pool patio remodeled with pavers. At the beginning of the project I wanted to keep the cost down so the plan was to keep the old C style coping and line up the pavers flush to the coping. As the demo started, I changed my mind and now I want a bull nose style coping which requires a new track for the liner.
As the crew dug out the sand/dirt surrounding the pool preparing for the RCA base, we discovered the pressure treated wood attached to the top of the concrete base is deteriorating in several spots. Additionally, the skimmers are cracked beyond repair.
As far as the skimmers are concerned, I think I can install these myself but I don't know what problems I may run into (I can plumb pipe myself). The skimmers are not buried in concrete but rather sand. I was quoted $1600 per skimmer by the pool company that installed the liner. The existing skimmers are from Hayward and a quick search reveals they run around $250 for their wide mouth skimmer. This appears to use the same design as what I have. If so, is this as simple as new gaskets and gluing 1 pipe?
Moving onto the wood and track. The masonry crew conferred with their pool builder and gave me these options.
  • Remove all existing wood , 1 piece/section at a time, install new wood along with the new track. It was suggested this may be problem because once the old wood was removed, it may be problematic to install new wood to the existing concrete.
  • Remove/replace only severely damaged wood sections and install new track along the whole perimeter. They stated this option was doable because they would be laying new concrete/mortar and wire mesh over the existing wood that would adhere to the concrete walls
I received a separate estimate from another pool contractor. Remove all existing coping - $300 Install new pressure treated wood 18x36 - $1674 Install top extrusion - $1026 Replace 2 skimmers - $3200
At this point I don't mind paying to have it done correctly. If I can save some money by installing the skimmer myself then that's a plus.
Any pool builders here give me your honest opinion?

2024.05.20 06:27 No_Purchase9851 My relationship is falling apart ever since my dad died.

My husband and I got married in October after being engaged for several years, we planned the wedding in only a few months after finding out my dad’s health was getting pretty dire. He was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2016, went into remission for about a year, then found out it was back and had progressed to leukemia. We were told in September that he had a year at best with weekly blood/platelet transfusions. So we threw the wedding together because we had been engaged for so long anyways and it was very important to me that my dad be at my wedding. We got married October 22, he decided to discontinue his weekly treatments and transition into hospice care on December 7 and died December 15. It has been about 6 months and neither of us are handling his death very well. My husband and dad were very close, I had an amazing relationship with him, this was a devastating loss for the both of us. Admittedly, we have fought a lot for a very long time. For 3 years we have pretty consistently fought, but since my dad has been gone it is constant. All day every day. I went to my best friends Bachelorette party over the weekend, I had a 13 hour drive home today and we fought from the minute I walked in the door. I’m afraid we’ve reached our braking point and I don’t know what to do. I am in the process of trying to get a new therapist but couples therapy will never be an option for us, so I don’t see how we can move past this and learn to have a conversation without getting so angry at each other. I don’t even know how it happens most of the time, we’ll just be talking and all the sudden we’re arguing. I don’t want to give up on this relationship, he means the world to me and I truly love him regardless of how little we can get along these days. I’m afraid he’s going to leave me soon.

2024.05.20 06:27 _thelonewolfe_ Former Gleek here…

Glee's star burned brighter and faster than any show before or since, maybe outside Twin Peaks. Tbh, the show's decline arguably began after it's first winter break following the mid season finale. The characterization amongst the show's ever growing cast was so haphazard you could scarily call any of them characters. Whole personalities and goals would shift depending on whatever forced conflict or drama the show threw at them, besides Kurt and Rachel of course, who's worst qualities would only become more magnified as the series progressed.
Kurt in particular especially irritated me, as I had come out the same year Glee's first season began airing, and had been excited to follow a show with a central gay teen character. But Kurt's overinflated ego and narcissism, coupled with his downright predatory behavior in season one. Finn's homophobic outburst during one particular episode was of course uncalled for, but I was genuinely upset that the show never properly addressed Kurt's then constant lusting after Finn and attempts to seduce him, playing into one of the most harmful stereotypes of gay men. Ryan Murphy is looking real sus in this regard.
The less I say about Rachel and her equally vain, unpleasant brand of theatrical narcissism, the better. A creator's pet if there ever was one.
The show's focus on topical, trendy issues and chart-toppers over showtunes and classic hits were what ultimately led to Glee's downfall I think, in addition to the issues above. The bland new characters that were obvious revamps of previous characters, a focus on gimmicky guest stars (NeNe Leaks) and nonstop tribute episodes (why did Britney get TWO when so many other artists were routinely ignored) really began to grate on me. The final straw for me was the school shooting episode that ended with one of the most shamelessly manipulative endings ever put to television. I couldn't believe Murphy would stoop so low as to make an issue like school shootings just the backdrop to another stupid twist, only to immediately disregard any character development in the following episode.
Ratings were already down significantly from season two, which had already begun to bleed viewers by the end of the season. This was a show that went from premiering after the Superbowl, to losing almost 90 percent of it's audience just two and a half seasons later. In hindsight, it's spectacular just how quickly Glee managed to squander the goodwill of those first 13 episodes.

2024.05.20 06:26 Feeling_jay_4923 Do I tell her

So 6ish years ago at work I met this older guy, we clicked. Just talking at first and laughing. I should say i work in a hospital and he always came to my unit “to check things out”. It was innocent and felt nice to flirt a little bit. About a year into it we’ve just started messaging each other and then he stopped outta no where. I felt really self conscious like what did I do? Well turns out I didn’t do anything, his married. It hadn’t occurred to me because she had went by her maiden last name. Same as mine, we’re related but I don’t know that side of my family. So of course I didn’t know who she was married to. We all work at the same facility. He disappears for a while and I just forgot about him. I moved units and he starts popping around again, we visit and laugh but it’s platonic. Different this time. A year into this new unit, new friendship we kiss. It quickly goes further. I often forget he’s married, she’s now all of our bosses. Now here we are almost three years later and I few stuck. I know I’m a bad guy. I know I’m wrong. I’ve tried to stop this but not successfully. I think I’m addicted to the situation. But I finally feel like I’m completely finished, I can walk away. I feel dumb, why did I believe him?? Why did ignore so much. Right now I have this huge urge to go tell her that it’s me, that I’m sorry. I have so much I think I should say but I know that all I’ll be doing is hurting her when I’m not trying to. He’s 13 years older then me, I haven’t let myself like anyone in years. And I let myself completely fall for him. He seemed to be so stable and what I wanted in my life. What I wanted my future to be. I wanted to have my dream house with a guy that wouldn’t try to destroy me .

2024.05.20 06:26 Far_Statistician_974 Break up help please

I'm having the worst time of my life.
About a month ago my gf of 5 years left me over text out of the blue. She said she was done and wasn't coming back. I was even blocked and completely shut out without a chance to plead. She was very aware of my childhood trauma and still chose this method because she says I make her unhappy and it's how she needed to do this. I respect her decision to leave and understand I was too much at times but this whole thing has triggered every fear and trauma from my childhood. After surviving that first night thanks to a few crisis hotlines, I called a therapist because I knew I couldn't handle one more traumatic event.
My entire world has crumbled since that moment. I don't have a job and need to find a new place to live in less than 30 days. I don't have a safe family to go to and no friends. The only people I see are my new therapist. All I had was her and her family one day too. She was the first and only person I ever trusted or felt safe with. There are no words for the grief I have been feeling since that all went away. I'm in the dark with no contact and it's eating me alive losing every safety I had all at once with no idea what may happen in the near future.
I have been recently diagnosed with CPTSD and MDD. This helps with understanding why the relationship failed but it does nothing to ease the debilitating suffering I am going through.
I can't eat or sleep since I'm all alone in the place we were living in together. I have been coping in very unhealthy ways but I'm completely lost and shattered. I need serious relief.
Does anyone know anything to help with my ruminations or anxiety attacks? Does anyone have any advice for moving forward from someone you can't see a future without? Does anyone just have any kinds words to help get me through this?

2024.05.20 06:25 Introvert__Pro 36/M/WA Seeking Digital Friends for Fun Conversations and Shared Interests

Hey there! I'm a 36-year-old married dude with kids, who's pretty laid-back and introverted, and full of ADHD. While I'm a bit of a homebody, I do enjoy getting out into the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest when I can muster the energy (thanks to my wife's gentle nudges). I have a knack for humor and love swapping dumb jokes – especially the classic dad variety. Laughter is the best medicine, as they say! In terms of hobbies, I'm into art, particularly drawing and currently learning to paint. I'm also a lifelong learner and have a passion for exploring new things (my next project is cross stitching). Anime and manga are my biggest current interests, and I don't mind indulging in them with or without my kids (who can resist a good anime binge, am I right?). Some of my currents (and past favs) include My Hero Academia, DBZ, Full Metal Alchemist, One-Punch Man, and One Piece. One of my dreams is to write and illustrate my very own graphic novel someday. When I'm not immersed in my creative pursuits, you can probably find me glued to YouTube, either soaking up new knowledge or laughing at dumb videos. Podcasts are another favorite of mine, especially those in the realms of comedy and learning – bonus points if they involve Dungeons & Dragons shenanigans. I occasionally game, including games like Starbound, the Civilization Series, God of War, the Horizon Zero Dawn Series, Baldur's Gate 3, Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Stardew Valley. I've also been working to get some emulators going to play some past favorites from Playstation. Musically, I'm a fan of rock in all its forms, from punk to heavier metal. Some favorites include Thrice, Coheed and Cambria, Four Year Strong, August Burns Red, Texas in July, This or the Apocalypse, Not On Tour, and many more (just ask!). I'm on the hunt for someone who shares or has similar interests to mine. Reddit messages and Discord are my preferred modes of communication. It would be awesome to connect with someone who enjoys swapping memes, discussing shared hobbies, and maybe even motivating each other to try new things. But most importantly, I'm just excited about learning from people from all walks of life. If that sounds like your cup of tea, shoot me a message! (***I have to add, platonic friendships only please!***) I always struggle with reaching out to new people, so if you're the same, here's a few ice breakers to get a conversation rolling. Feel free to tweak them, or add your own!:
-What's your one go-to song you play constantly, no matter how embarrassing? -What's the weirdest talent or skill you have? -What's your most memorable dream you've ever had? -If you could instantly become an expert in any subject or skill, what would it be and why? -What's a lesser-known or seemingly overhyped book/audiobook/graphic novel/comic/anime/ manga/movie/TV show that turned out to be one of your favorites?

2024.05.20 06:25 PaossG Edutech companies looting general public money with no accountability

Coaching institutes like Xylem/Byju etc has hefty profits from luring aspiring candidates into taking loans and joining these coaching classes. May it be for IAS, NEET, MBBS or even a government job exams, the kind of fees collected is hefty. They have no accountability in making sure that all the students get a good seat in a college, or pass IAS in good rank, only because there is not enough seat or opportunity in the same ratio of their intakes.
If there are 100 students studying for a course for which there is one vacancy, the coaching centres' success ratio is 1%. With the kind of increasing aspirants, imagine the fate of 100 parents who paid a large part of their income into the education of their son/daughter. In reality the 100 students I mentioned is actually more that 2000 in just one Institute. In a larger economy, the impact of this new phenomenon in making the people poorer is very high. Those students who do not get into that 1% has no option to get back their money or payback their loan.
This happens every year and the kind of money that's being taken away from the aspiring student puts their future at stake and pushes then further into oblivion.
The number of maximum intake in a school is regulated by law, so there is no major fund involved drastic to the proportion of the students. These coaching centres have no regulation on the number of seats. So the success ratio drops even further.
What are your thoughts?

2024.05.20 06:25 PanchoBaker A little insight into Bryson swing

This post is geared towards anyone questioning or doubting Bryson swing. Be it the longevity or the robotic nature I have ventured down this rabbit hole and have explored every nook and cranny so AMA you want to know further bc odds are I can probably answer it.
I'm not in his camp or on his team I'm just a fan of his and for better or worse I have been from the get go. 1st time I remember seeing him was low am in Butler's Cabin and Nantz spoke very highly of him somewhere around this time The Golfing Machine by Homer Kelley was mention by Bryson.
This is essentially the "science" behind the golf swing that we all see today, same club lengthen etc. Now I think it's important to understand who Homer Kelley was and why this is all so important as he is/was a pretty divisive person in his day not unlike Bryson in the present.
Homer Kelley worked for Boeing and was known as a "problem solver" he had no formal education in aerospace, or any mathematics, physics, geometry ect. He was a legend there for his ability to find solutions that were deemed impossible.
A side note here I think that's worth pointing out is the story of the wright brothers as it pertains to fight. Again the wright brothers no formal education but were known to "tinker" as inventors and it's ultimately this trail and error of trying the unconventional that allowed them to break through and achieve the first fight.
Coming back to Homer Kelley he became obsessed with golf during the great depression and became upset with the lack of a universal golf language. He would ask club pros swing questions that they couldn't answer. I don't know exactly when he started writing but the book was first published in 1969. Many, many, many of the terms that are used to describe the golf swing can be found in this book only time has butchered them and they are bit off from his original definitions. Outside-in/inside-out aiming point are two that come to mind
Anyhow the book is polarizing itself and can be a very challenging read to say the least. He doesn't repeat anything so there's no emphasis on any one thing. It reads like a choose your own adventure and it's quite 'scientific-y'. It can also be hard to obtain a copy of the book bc he didn't want anyone revising it so he published it himself and a single copy can sell for over $100 easily.
The Internet is filled with a hodge podge of websites, gurus, and TGM experts. I'm not claiming to be one of those but having visiting countless sites there's a lot of misinformation out there which further complicates any attempts at extracting the wealth of knowledge that the book contains.
So one day I'm kinda explaining this to my wife and how I cant seem to find a copy for sale... Well lo and behold that Christmas I unwrap my very own copy. This was Christmas 2018. Like a coal power train it took a while to get things moving but I was constantly reading it forwards and backwards. All in all I think I'm somewhere around 80-85% full comprehension. I read it all the time still.
It's like learning a whole new and language, think Chinese or Russian. However once you start to decifer it the concept and ideas are really somewhat simple and frankly they work Its based on geometry and physics he calls golf
Geometrically. Oriented. Linear. Force.
It's a complete catalog of all things golf swing and as such is very efficient and I believe the longevity of a golfers swing will only increase by use of this book.
10-7-A is what Bryson used to say he was doing in interviews. He still is and he will most likely continue to improve. The robotic swing people like to bring up is called "the flying wedge" there a video of tour player Brian Gay (he's TGM) working with Lynn Blake (calls himself Yoda) where you can really see the flying wedge. It looks just like Bryson swing and I think it's from 2005ish.
I wish I had student to teach this stuff too as it works. The book is confusing I would even know where to point to say start here. But check out Homer Kelley's wiki page
I will forever be grateful for Bryson as my 40+ years of having a golf club in my hand can really be divided into a preTGM and post TGM and seeing him display pure joy today makes me all me grateful.
It is certainly my hope and intentions for this post to hopefully pay the knowledge forward as Bryson did for me, so if your reading this and learning about this for the first time and your have any questions I would be more than happy to help/assist/elaborate in any way I can. Godspeed and hit'em well.
Lastly, I love golf and before I get chastised I just want to point that out. I also know all as in ALL of the major criticism of the book it's why I included the little part about the wright brothers to get those of you wanting to point out whatever it is you may want to point that Unconventional doesn't have to mean wrong. Vietnamese revolutionary and statesman, Ho Chi Minh, was born on May 19th, 1890. Here’s how he is connected to Black history.
A lesser known fact about him is that Ho Chi Minh wrote an essay on the origins of the term “lynching” titled “Lynching” and another titled “Ku Klux Klan” in 1924, amongst various works on systemic racism found in a compilation titled “The Black Race by Ho Chi Minh and Selected Works on Systemic Racism”.
‘A Little-Known Aspect of American Civilization’
“It is well known that the black race is the most oppressed and most exploited of the human family. It is well known that the spread of capitalism and the discovery of the New World had as an immediate result the rebirth of slavery which was, for centuries, a scourge for the Negroes and a bitter disgrace for mankind. What everyone does not perhaps know is that after 65 years of so-called emancipation, American Negroes still endure atrocious moral and material sufferings, of which the most cruel and horrible is the custom of lynching.”

2024.05.20 06:24 DogtorPepper Best way to quit J4, if I should even at all?

I have been working 4 jobs for over a year now. I recently started a new J4 about 3mon ago. At first it looked promising for OE but soon came to realize that it’s a huge headache. Boss is very micromanaging, we have 10-15hr worth of meetings every week (this is more than my J1-J3 combined), everything is considered a high priority task, have to be cameras on every meeting, and our daily stand ups regular run for an hour every single morning. Also, although my manager has never explicitly asked me to work overtime I see many people in the company regularly work evenings, early morning, and weekends. My boss has regularly told our team, and me especially, that we need to work with a high sense of urgency
I finally want to quit. However if I do, I know that would put my team in a bind since I have some critical qualifications and credentials that no one on my team has except for my boss.
What should I do?
1) Put in my notice and leave my team to burn
2) Don’t quit and wait to get fired. I’m not sure what the psychological impacts of that on myself would be. I would need to miss some meetings (due to conflicts with J1-J3) and the last time I missed a meeting I got a huge lecture from my skip manager about being available from 9-5p.
3) Put in my notice but offer to work until my replacement is found (if they agree, 50/50 chance they would). I would get to milk them a bit more for money but not sure if it’s worth it
Thoughts?
