2024.05.19 19:17 TheLazyCaveman Request for low fodmap, egg and dairy free keto recipes!

I'm no fun at dinner parties. I struggle with FODMAP intolerance (no onion, garlic, wheat, cruciferous vegetables, etc.), lactose intolerance and an egg allergy. I started keto a couple of months ago and while it's working well for weight loss, I'm struggling with finding joy in eating without variety.
Mostly my diet right now is a protein smoothie for breakfast, some boring salad with protein for lunch, and protein and zucchini or bell peppers for dinner. Please help me with your recipes, as the diet is getting harder and harder to stick to.

2024.05.19 19:12 bulgarianass Prolozone Injection Pain Relief

I was diagnosed with a cam-type femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and multi quadrant labral tear. I've been dealing with hip/groin/buttocks pain for months. The way I've tried to handle it is by doing PT and prescribed NSAIDs.
Sadly the pain continued and I was desperate because I wanted to lose some weight pre-surgery. I'm convinced that the only way to fix the problem (shaving the bone and repairing the labrum) is via surgery, but before getting to that point I at least wanted to see if there was anything I could do to alleviate the constant pain.
I was reading some of the previous posts here and noticed others had great results when it came to pain relief using Prolozone. Well, I went for it three days ago and each day I've felt better and better. Of course, I do have to give it some time to see if the relief is short-lived but according to others here, it could last. My hope is to use this gift of pain-free living to get in shape and get prepped for surgery to fix the underlying problem.
One thing I must mention, Prolozone therapy is becoming rare and I had to spend $500 for the shot at a clinic two hours away from where I live, and I live in a big city in the United States.
Happy to answer any questions regarding my experience and please share your experience with Prolozone.

I never really struggled with weight loss, I went from 280 to 236 on my own as I go to the gym consistently and weight lift a lot. I took the chance on wegovy because I have recently noticed the slow pace of my weight loss. My first week I went from 228 to 219. Can’t wait to to see where the whole 4 weeks takes me.

2024.05.19 18:57 Short_School_4550 Kylea here is an answer from Meta

Meta's policies require that content on a page with a title like "Weight Loss Journey" align with the page's stated purpose. If the page is monetized through Meta's partner programs (like Facebook Stars or Meta Branded Content), the content must also comply with Meta's Monetization Eligibility Standards.
If the page mainly posts content unrelated to weight loss, Meta may consider this a violation of their policies. This could lead to consequences like:
  1. Reduced reach and visibility for the page's posts

2024.05.19 18:52 SophiaShay1 What was your worse health care that caused you to seek more medical intervention & answers for fibromyalgia?

I had the worst experience of my life two nights ago. I woke up early Friday evening from a nap. I slept about 2 hours. I woke up feeling off. I was sweaty and could not breathe. I was dizzy, disoriented, and sweaty. We called 911. I thought I was having a heart attack or a stroke. I went to the emergency room. They did a CBC, EKG, and CT scan of my brain. I had low glucose, which was resolved by drinking a glass of cranberry juice. I hadn't eaten anything in over 10 hours. My doctor was incredible. After the test results came back, he said, "Could it be anxiety? Possibly. I don't know, I wasn't there." Initially, I thought it could have been anxiety, but the symptoms presented in such a way that it absolutely didn't seem that way. He prescribed anxiety medication. I'm grateful it has helped.
I've been simply existing since my diagnosis in December 2023. This event has forced me to face some hard truths. For as much as I thought I knew, I really knew nothing. There's so much I need to learn about my body. I have depression and anxiety that was caused by my ongoing health problems and ultimately fibromyalgia. I stopped taking Zoloft for depression & Klonopin for anxiety to start Cymbalta. I've tried Savella and Cymbalta twice. Cymbalta helped with my fatigue, pain, sleep, and mood. Ultimately, I had to stop all medications due to severe side effects.
I'm post-menopausal and never wanted to do hormone replacement therapy. From what I've read, it's now something I have to talk to my doctor about. I've gained about 70 pounds in the last 4 years. I have to talk to my doctor and lose weight. My symptoms are dizziness, disorientation, always hot and sweaty, chronic and debilitating fatigue, widespread pain, brain fog, depression, anxiety & insomnia/sleep disturbances
I'd love to hear your stories. Did you have a life changing medical scare that propelled you to get more answers and work harder? Have you found more effective medications that manage your symptoms and fibromyalgia? What about vitamins, supplements, and non-medical interventions? Changes to your diet and exercise? Have you taken weight loss medications? Have they helped with both weight loss and fibromyalgia?

2024.05.19 18:50 Far_Conclusion_954 Bloating, Fluid Retention, Weight Gain - How to Combat?

on 60mg and 2000mg metformin per day. Weight gain has stabilised and I will try to start exercising to see if that helps with weight loss, but
How do I combat bloating and fluid retention on Nardil? My stomach is bloated like I'm pregnant and my face is swelled as well. Is there any meds I can look at to help with these?
I consider dropping my dose to 45 or 52.5mg but I'm afraid of reducing benefits - anybody has experience with this?
My current regimen: 60mg Nardil, 150mg Lamotregine, 75mg Seroquel.

2024.05.19 18:46 Specific_Count_4373 Gastric sleeve conversion to bypass due to weight gain

I'm considering a gastric sleeve revision to bypass. I had the sleeve done in Sept 2022. my starting weight was 280. I believe I was around 270-275lb prior to surgery. My surgeon didnt require weight loss prior to surgery. After the sleeve I got down to about 220lb but all of that was in the first few months. Once I healed and was able to eat solid foods I started gaining. I am now about 240. So basically only lost about 40lbs which is not what I was hoping for. I now have an option of doing a revision due to weight gain and due to some mild reflux. I'm just trying to decide if it is worth it. I was told not to expect much weight loss. Clearly I didn't have much with the sleeve. My only hope is that if I do get the revision to bypass that maybe I will have some "dumping" or something after eating sugar and carbs. Sugar is my #1 weakness. After the sleeve I never had any issues eating anything. Even in the beginning. I did follow the 8 week post op instructions which is pretty much the only reason I lost any weight. Even day 1 I could drink a protein shake with no issues. I also didn't find there was much education or support past surgery. Yes, I met with a dietitian prior to surgery but really the only thing ever discussed was the 8 week post op diet. I went to my follow up doctor appointments but unfortunately my 4 week follow up was cancelled due to doctor issues and I wasn't seen again until my 8 week post op. At that appointment the NP told me my calorie intake should be about 1000-1200 calories. I wasn't seen again until my 6 mo post op. By then I was used to eating the 1200 calories. The new NP had a fit and said I should still be at 500 calories. I tried going backwards but found it very very difficult. Then I got frustrated and kind of gave up. past my initial consultation and my surgery I never saw my doctor again. All my appointments were with a NP and usually a different one. Now I am looking at doing the revision due to lack of success with the sleeve. It will be with a new doctor but he really didn't give me any hope of weight loss. He said I may lose about 10lbs but probably nothing past that. I wasn't offered any other options like medication or anything. So..now I sit here weighing between 240-245. Unbelievably frustrated and mad at myself for not doing better and feel like I'm just destined to be fat the rest of my life. I wasn't overweight as a child and really had no weight issues until after getting pregnant with my first child 24 yrs ago. I have 4 kids now. Anyway, I guess my question is was anyone unsuccessful with the sleeve but had success after revision to bypass?

2024.05.19 18:42 Next_Emotion_2148 May have to switch from Wegovy to Zepbound. Questions!

I've been on Wegovy for a year with good results. It's not perfect, but it works. My company insurance paid for it but now I'm on Medicare, which doesn't. We are trying for a PA based on the new indication of managing cardiovascular risks, but I'm not very hopeful. So here are the questions: 1. If I made the switch, what dose Zepbound should I start with? I'm on 1 mg Wegovy. 2. What are the most common side effects? 2. I understand Zepbound is less expensive than Wegovy (with fewer side effects and more weight loss), but what does it cost per month if you have to pay out of pocket? Thanks in advance , everyone!

2024.05.19 18:41 yelichrodgers Help!

I have been dieting/excersising four about 8 weeks now. I am a male, 6 feet tall. When I started i was 226 pounds, since I have lost 25 pounds and am down to 201. Here is the issue, I have been stuck at 203-201 for the past 2 weeks!!
-My diet has not changed. I intermittent fast, so I stop eating at 6pm and do not eat til 10 AM the next day
-I eat 1500-2000 calories per day.
-According to my scale, my bmr is 2084 calories.
-According to my fitbit, my TDEE currently is 3000-4000 calories.
My weight loss plateau seems to align to when I began walking. Currently I walk 10-12k steps. Half of them being from a power walk. Prior to my plateau I was taking ~6000 steps and cycling for 20 minutes. ( I have replaced cycling with a power walk, this has led to more calories burrned according to my fitbit.)
Do I stay the course, or do I need to adjust my calorie intake? It's hard for me to bieleve the fitbit telling me I'm burning 3000+ calories. Any advice/suggestions is appreciated! I am totally new to all this so take it easy on me ;)

2024.05.19 18:38 _HolyQueerBleach_ Binge ed and weight loss pressures

I’ve had a binge ed for years and am currently around 220. Although I have weeks where I lose weight and eat healthy, I keep coming back to this toxic state of mind. Stress has been building up on me and I just wish I was skinny again. I’ve been purging more but mostly eating way to much and then trying to starve. I just have this really big pressure on myself elf to be skinny again. I quite literally lost friends when I gained back a lot of weight and no one treats me like how they used to. I realize the immense privilege I had when I was skinny and feel awful now that I don’t have it, even if it sounds weird. As a young kid I was chubby and bullied a lot. Even by teachers, then I grew and lost a lot in middle school and now I’m back to square one. Even if middle school was a long time ago I’m still young and stick to how I used to look like. I wish I had a flatter stomach and legs and everything desperately. With work and school it’s so hard to stick to it because I’m so tired. I just want my old body back, the one where I could wear what I want and not be made fun of. Another thing, everyone makes fun of how you dress more when you’re fat. I just want to feel beautiful. I can’t even look in the mirror without picking every feature apart. I do take care of myself and I am going outside and walking a lot more but I wish I could just loose it all and be 140 again. Honestly if I had the money I would get surgery to be happy with myself.

2024.05.19 18:36 RubyHibiscus Kind Of Frustrated With Access to Low Doses and The Service I Use

There’s a six month weight for the Weight Management providers within the hospital system where I work, so I made the appointment but in the meantime I started with an online program. It’s $79 a month. Which is costly enough for me. The first month of the med cost me nothing because I used the pharmaceutical companies patient program/coupon, but then my hospital pharmacy couldn’t get the med. I waited a few weeks then switched to Caremark, which doesn’t take the coupon so it costs $100 a month. Just got a message that Caremark will no longer be filling weight loss meds. Great. I had my next dose sent to my local pharmacy as of yesterday per the patient portal for the online service it went through, but nothing showing on the CVS website. Anyway I had my 3 month follow up with the doctor. I told him I lost about 10 pounds since March(personally I consider that amazing since it’s been a struggle to lose even 2 pounds over a few months) and I was off the med for a few weeks due to the shortage. I asked about skipping the 1mg due to the shortage and going to the 1.7 mg, he says he thinks that will cause a plateau sooner even if I lose more weight in shorter period of time and wants to keep me on the 1mg for a few months, which would be fine except for the shortage. He said “well we can just go to the compounded” which of course the company provides at $175 per month. As it is the $79 a month is a lot for me. I was looking forward to getting to the 1.7 and not having to panic every month at the cost and/or if the drug was available.
I’m frustrated I may just have to wait until July and start all over, which means 3 months of scrambling to find somewhere that carries the low doses.

2024.05.19 18:35 Potential-Cicada-899 Frustrated

I’ve been TTC with PCOS for about two years. A year ago I went to the obgyn to understand what’s up. I’ve been working on my health for the last year with a significant diet change and exercising a lot more. I’ve lost about 20 lbs of fat and have plateau weight loss but am building muscle. I’ve recently started metformin again and am taking supplements. I am in the process of scheduling an appointment with a fertility doctor to get clomid or something similar.
The vent is I went to my hairstylist recently and she’s several months pregnant. Last time I saw her she didn’t want to get pregnant, but within a month she changed her mind and now is. I’m just frustrated that it’s THAT easy for a lot of women. And it’s not THAT easy for me.
I struggle a lot with my womanhood because of this issue. There have been a lot of tears and hard work to get to where I am now. I know that everyone’s journey is different and that I shouldn’t compare. But it’s SO hard not to.
I’m going to my therapist this week to talk about it. Idk I just feel like I’m gonna explode with frustration. I wish my body just worked right.
Not looking for advice I really just needed this off my chest to a group of women who have the same issue as me otherwise I think I’d just give up.
