Problem Statement
I recently explored SonarQube for static code analysis. While it’s a great tool, the free edition lacks the ability to generate PDF reports, making it hard to share issues. There was no maintained plugin available, so I decided to solve this problem myself.
Target Audience
This started as a hobby/side project, but I wanted to share it in case others find it useful. I'm open to suggestions and feedback!
Comparison with Similar Tools
There was only one similar tool in the Sonar Marketplace, but it’s no longer maintained.

I've developed and published a Python library called RedCoffee, which generates PDF reports from SonarQube analysis. You can find it on PyPi and GitHub.

Hey Folks , I have been working on a cool side project for a last few days and finally I was able to complete it today.
So recently I was exploring SonarQube for one of my projects . For those who are not aware , Sonar is a static code analysis tool which helps us to improve our code base by pointing out the best practices. I was using the community / free edition of SonarQube . However , the issue with that is there was no way to generate the PDF reports . PDF reports allow us to share the faults easily among the developers , otherwise we need to take Screenshots of the issues and then share it across. There was one plugin in the marketplace , however , that was not being maintained anymore .
I thought it is a good problem statement to solve and finally, I am here with the solution. It’s a very easy implementation but gets the job done.
I have also published this as a Python Library available via pip and it is called RedCoffee. The source code is also available on GitHub. Please feel free to check it out and provide your valuable insights.

I’m a very nerdy person. I have lots of interests in exploring random philosophical and scientific stuff, especially things that relate to the nature of the universe and nature. And because of that I’m actually a university student with a background in history and physics!!! :DD I can ramble on and on all day about pretty much anything related to that or my other interests. Just as much as I love learning about things, I also have a strong passion for talking and teaching others about it….. I’m thinking that after that I’m gonna pursue becoming an educator of some sort since I love helping people learn and discover their passions for things. Though the specifics of that I’m not sure yet lol. Oh and in terms of me physically, I’m white, 5’8, and AMAB with an average build, with some tiny curves?, blue eyes, and semi-long hair (kind of in an awkward phase)
Outside of all that stuff, I love exploring media like TV and films and books and so on. My favorite stuff are ones that can be action heavy, fantasy, apocalyptic, sci fi, or horror (cosmic and existential horror is great). I don’t really have anything super SPECIFIC absolute favorite in mind, but I’ll just come across them and like them. I also like brainstorming and producing my own stories, worlds, and characters in fantasy and fictional universes too, and hoping to become a published author! (in addition to being a teacher). I also really like roleplaying too!! It’s so fun and satisfying building a world with someone else so BONUS POINTS IF YOU DO THIS TOO. Honestly bonus points if you do or are interested in ANY of this stuff hehe. But anyway…… Speaking of rp I also like immersing myself in a few games and fandoms of the same themes I mentioned. But I would say the fandom I’ve been ABSOLUTELY immersed in the longest and the greatest is the Warcraft fandom, so many memories and roleplays and etc in this. I guess I’d say with games I’m more of a creative person? Like I love using them as a sandbox for stories and creativity or building things (like Minecraft). But of course I love playing the actual games themselves too lol. And I also really like music (almost forgot to add this)!!! :D
Ok, so I need to mention some more things and some deal breakers and what I’m looking for and all that. First off I’m quite shy and introverted and reserved, but this basically kind of just applies to people I’m not that familiar with. I’m especially very awkward with that. HOWEVER, I open up very quickly to certain people, especially cool people I meet online ^. Next, I’m also autistic and have anxiety which I’ve dealt with basically my whole life. PLEASE understand this!! I may stumble on my words and stuff or not know what to say right away for example lol. I also won’t send pictures right away. Just I need to check your vibes first for my comfort (you just never know peoples intentions here). For the darker stuff, which I love and adore, it’ll take me some time to do more than just texting stuff, again for similar reasons. (If all you want quick nsfw exchanges and just a partner for that, I’m not for you!! I want an actual deep and loving romantic connection for us!)
As I said, I’m looking for something long-term and serious, for a soulmate pretty much. What this means is I want something exclusive and monogamous, with the goal basically being us being together physically, living together, and all that cool stuff. But no specific timeline for that of course! Just in the long term pretty much :) Something that may be a dealbreaker - is that someday, I want to raise children of my own. Though they don’t have to be biological (surrogacy or adoption would be lovely too ^). I also don’t smoke, drink, or do drugs, and have no plans to change this. And as I said I also enjoy nsfw stuff too! I’d kind of need our relationship to have that in the future. I’ll also mention that I’m a switch (so both/either) and willing to experiment with what you like. So most dynamics should work for me <3
Overall, I hope to find someone that is willing to put up with me and support me, being there and comforting to me. And I hope to do the same for you! Why am i writing this?
the purpose of this document is to raise awareness on the subject and provide a proper foundation of information to the public and those who may be targeted. These types of programs and technologies will become more and more common as time goes on and it may be difficult for some to get a handle on it without this information. This information is crucial in the early stages of exposure to this technology as it can help someone differentiate between schizophrenia, the voice of "god", a false conscience, an alien technology or any voice versus the actual technology being used on them. Having a trusted voice inside your head can be very dangerous and can have devastating effects on a person if they are being led the wrong way. Many dictatorship like countries have already adopted a very aggressive form of this technology, paired with their social values and strict policies it leaves millions of humans at the mercy and control of a small group of people. Behind closed doors this technology is at the forefront of government tools to use to control the population in a way that leaves them blameless.
what is this new technology?
This technology is an assortment of different directed energy weapons and a voice to skull technology that work together to project thoughts and hit the target with varying effects. The first one that most people will experience is a form of voice to skull which does exactly what it sounds like, it has the ability to project voices in your head and can be mistaken for one's "conscience" or the "voice of God" but is just a mix of human operator and conversational AI. This is usually accompanied by the same voice re-reading your internal monologue right back to you in real time. Directional voice is also commonly used, basically it sounds like someone is in the next room over or upstairs but this is just another illusion put in your head by the technology. The voice to skull “voice” is a very advanced form of conversational AI programmed with specific scripts to fit the targets life situation and the "programs" goal for said individual. The rest of the time its the actual human operator, its about 80% AI 20% Human operator. Just as they can beam outside voices in your head they can also “suggest” or “inject” thoughts that will feel like your own thoughts but will present itself as an intruding thought, yes they know how to make you think things without you even being aware. The "program" will also use an assortement of directed energy weapons (DEW) which can cause headaches, brain zaps, heart palpitations and chest pains aswell as nausea, tinnitus, very realistic hallucinations and paralysis. Another tool used is a supressor which will essentially supress the brain by putting it into a sleep inertia like state and can be turned up or down, this can cause you to feel very sleepy and if you give in then it can put you to sleep. These tools can be combined to create various effects for example, using the supressor while raising the heartrate can cause a form of sleep paralysis while you are sleeping and so on. They can replicate almost all mental and physical health problems. Dreams are another field that this technology can manipulate with precision accuracy, dreams cannot be mistaken for anything but manipulation if you find yourself being targeted. There are hints of subconscious manipulation while you are asleep but there is not much information on this unfortunately. the program is a government level program therefore they will have access to suggest posts on the main social media’s that fits the targets situation in order to subconsciously adhere to the programs goal (instagram, Facebook, Meta apps) this fits the description for propaganda by repetition as they try to induce the illusory truth effect to double down on their goals for you. They are very well trained in psychological warfare and will use tactics like reverse psychology aswell as use/depend on cognitive biases against the target in tandem with all of these technologies.
the purpose
the purpose of this technology can vary depending on the target and the operator as well as which country it is happening in. there are a multitude of "programs" from research programs that aim to test new and existing methods and technologies on humans, this type of program is unlikely to be used on the civilian population as much as the other programs. Research programs will often leave its victims in a very disabled state often mistaken for severe mental and physical health issues. Re-education programs are used to control the population in a way to modify behavior and beliefs of the population to allign with the values and beliefs of the government that is conducting the program. Monitoring programs which are used to monitor persons of interest for potential criminal activity. People will typically fall into one or multiple programs. There is no way to tell how people are chosen for these programs.
How it works
I will begin by explaining how these different technologies work, in simple terms. The voice to skull technology essentially is a 2 way channel in which the individual and the operatoAI can communicate via thought. To achieve this, brain reading is paired with a form of microwave hearing (Extremely low frequency). the way they read thoughts is the brain will give off specific electrical signals with each thought and action and this technology can read your thoughts with a beam - probe like device that is constantly on, pointed at you and collecting your brains electrical data and translating it. They have algorithms that can decipher these specific brain signals and turn it into text which consequentially has given them a v2k word dictionary to refer to. the microwave hearing is done by sending Extremely Low Frequency energy to the skull with which is then transduced by the cochlea and in turn enables the "hearing" of voices. The “AI” or “algorithm” or “computer program” used is programmed with “Natural language processing” or NLP which is a field of artificial intelligence that focuses on interaction between humans and computers using language and what this means is it can interpret, understand and generate human language. This AI will talk to you 24/7 using this 2 way channel until a human takes over. This technology is also capable of thought insertion/suggestion and this will often present itself as very intruding thoughts that are abnormal to your day to day thought process but can be anything, it will also learn how you think and try to suggest things you normally think of to attempt a version of “mind control” which is done in a similar fashion to the v2k but is sent directly to the brain and not through the cochlea, no specific information on how this is administered unfortunately. The suppressor is essentially an Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic field and will induce theta brainwaves to make you sleepy this is why sometimes in the dark you will see small phosphenes or “speckles of light”. Directed energy weapons can be classed into many subclasses, the ones i am referring to are the more subtle weapons meant for targeting, disabling and harming biological beings with brain zaps as-well as headaches and fever like symptoms. Headaches are caused by an overload of radio frequency energy sent directly to the brain causing the brain to slowly expand which causes the headaches (this is why during v2k you will sometimes get headaches). Brain zaps are caused via electromagnetic pulse and can be programmed into your v2k algorithm to deter you from thinking of something they do not want you to think of, it will (if left unchecked) work in their favor. The symptoms of fever are induced by actually raising your body heat through RF directed energy, they refer to this as “RF incapacitation” and the effects can differ but people become less aggressive or more aggressive depending on the person and this can be used to amplify or reduce certain emotional reactions.
Please note that the technology of today is more advanced then what is listed on these patents, its just to show you that alot of this was possible a very long time ago.

I'm sorry. I know this has been probably asked, but I looked and my head is all full of pollen and benadryl that is trying to kill the pollen. All I'm seeing is people discussing the terms, but not defining them.

This happened while I was taking a biology lab class. More than halfway in the semester, a new student (Morgan) joins my partner and I in our group as we are discussing plans for our final project. By this point they had missed 3 lab assignments and practical marks.
That same day before dismissal, we were supposed to discuss plans for our final project. Morgan went to our lab TA and told them the objective of our experiment without having a proper discussion with my partner and I who had been discussing plans prior to their arrival. Their suggestion was inhumane (cutting off parts of an animal for regenerative studies) and wasn’t allowed in our course. This was stated clearly on our manual, but they didn’t know because they didn’t have a manual (which is a requirement.)
A week goes by and I have heard nothing from Morgan. Throughout this time I’ve been contacting my partner asking if they’ve heard anything from them but they said no. So I had to find their contact info on our class list and email them about our outline for the experiment. They had contributed nothing to the planning of the experiment, but I brushed it off as our marks really came from our presentation.
After our actual experiment, we needed to create a slideshow and record. A few days before the deadline I messaged them if we could record the day of the deadline. This meant that we needed to create the slideshows and organize the data beforehand, however only my partner replied.
A few hours before the deadline, my partner and I decided to split up Morgan’s portion as they had not replied to our messages (they had chosen to work on the more significant portion of the work, except they didn’t do jack)
So my partner and I finished the slides and as we were about to record, we saw Morgan typing on the shared Google Doc. They apologized saying their phone had gotten ran over so they couldn’t type but could see all our messages. So why couldn’t they email us? Contact the TA? Worked on their portion of the presentation? Morgan didn’t even bother opening the PowerPoint we had shared with them.
Oh, I forgot to mention we had 2 weeks to work on this presentation.
After my partner and I recorded the presentation, I went to the Google Doc to see Morgan had typed that they could still record from their tablet.
And present work they didn’t do?
Nope, not happening.
Following this, I took the matter to the higherups, giving ALL of the evidence; time stamps, history of the edited document, and text receipts. I think it says enough that their only edit on the document was their apology.
And guess what? The presentation was only worth 5%, but to Morgan who had missed out on a majority of past assignments who knows how much it was worth.
I had not seen Morgan in following labs or the practical exam.
Our TA only acknowledged my partner and I on our feedback and we ended with a grade of 97.

I’d like to suggest a detection software that I’ve found (as a student) that I use to laugh at AI-generated discussion posts. I’ve never directly outed my peers, but I know just as well as anyone else with a brain.

• ZeroGPT Super easy to use. Just copy any text you suspect of using AI and paste it in. It’s mostly accurate as far as I’ve tested. If you want to run AI-generated text through without it being flagged, you have to line edit everything and it’s even more time consuming than doing your own work. DM me to know the one exception I found as I do not want to post it openly here and encourage people to use it to bypass ZeroGPT’s detection.

As a teacher, you can probably also contact the developer(s) to get an extension for the LMS system you use.

I (18F) just found out I have a half sibling from my dad and I’m in shock.
My dad and my mom have been happily married for over 30 years. I have a sister who is 21 but as far as I knew, she was my one and only sibling.
Today, my dad asked if I could come by his office and talk to him about something serious. I didn’t take it seriously, because my dad will sometimes call me into his office and nag me about school or just chat with me because he misses me.
From the moment I stepped into his office, I could tell something was wrong. His eyes were bloodshot as if he had just finished crying and he was very quiet. He told me to take a seat and said he had something very serious to tell me. At this point, I thought that he was going to tell me had cancer or that someone had died. Not even close.
He proceeded to tell me that he cheated on my mom 10 years ago and slept with another woman, and that he has a 9 year old daughter, my half sister. She lives across the country with her mother. He said that my mom already knows about everything, but that he hasn’t told my sister yet. My sister is very ‘emotional’ I guess you could say so he thought I would handle the news better than her, since I’m very easygoing and I don’t get upset at things.
At this point, I was kind of in shock because it hadn’t fully processed. He told me her name, and told me that she would be coming this Sunday with her mother. He explained that they were coming so he could sign his daughter’s passport, and that he would love if I could meet her and get to know her. He stressed that it’s not the child’s fault at all, (which I completely understand) and that he would like me to be a part of her life.
He called the girl in front of me just so I could hear her voice, and it absolutely broke my heart when she answered the phone and said “hi daddy”. That was when it definitely became a reality to me. She asked my dad when she would be able to meet ‘her sisters’ and it made me tear up a little bit.
I gave my dad a hug and I told him that I would need some time to process things, but that I love him and this doesn’t change the love I have for him.
Things still haven’t properly processed yet— I feel like it was all sprung onto me so quickly. I’m mad, sad, confused, and disgusted—- I don’t know what to feel. I knew my parents didn’t have a perfect relationship, but this was the last thing I expected.

My dad just told me about it yesterday while my mom was at work, I haven’t seen her yet since he broke the news to me. He also told me that it’s a very difficult subject for my mom (which is completely understandable) so I don’t know how to approach talking about it with her.

I’m not supporting my dad’s actions, all I did was give him a hug and tell him I still love him. Despite the news I found out, he’s still my dad. Maybe it hasn’t quite processed fully but it’s hard for me to accept that my dad who has been so loving to me and my sister, could do something like this. I am upset and devastated for my mother, but my parents made the decision to stay together despite the affair years ago. What do you want me to do? Am I supposed to slap my dad across the face and call him a dirty cheater, am I supposed to encourage my mother to leave him and move out of the house?
Obviously what my father did is horrible- but there’s very little I can do now but figure out how to process, move forward, and show my support to my mother in a way that won’t rub salt into the wound

The other day, my dad asked if I could come by his office and talk to him about something serious. He proceeded to tell me that he cheated on my mom during a one-night stand 10 years ago and that he has a 9-year-old daughter, my half-sister, who lives across the country with her mother. My mom has known ever since the woman was pregnant and stayed with him for the sake of me and my sister. He even asked if I could meet his daughter.
When he told me, it didn’t really process in my mind. I gave my dad a hug and told him that I would need some time to process things, but that I love him and this doesn’t change the love I have for him.
Now that it’s processed, it’s really killing me. I’m in distraught.
The woman he cheated with was from his old job, when my family still lived in a different state. You know what breaks my heart? I used to go to that job with my dad all the time, sit on his lap when he filed paperwork, say hi to everyone there—I probably even met the woman a few times. She knew my dad was married. She knew he had kids. My dad knew he was married. My dad knew he had kids.
He said that he only had one child with the woman, and that she has another child, a 6-year-old boy. He told me that the boy is under his name legally, but it’s not his son by blood. I don’t even know if I can believe anything he says anymore. What if he’s still seeing the woman? What if that son is his? How can I believe a cheater?
My mom is one of the most loving, sweetest people in the world. Her kindness and compassion make people love her almost instantly. I don’t understand how or why he would cheat on the woman who loved him unconditionally. Was my mom not enough of a reason for him to stay faithful? Were my sister and I not a good enough reason for him to come home for the night?
I just feel so disgusted. I texted him a series of hateful messages, basically telling him that I’m disgusted and that he ruined my views on what a father is. I used to look up to him, I was so proud to have him as my dad, but now all I can feel is disgust and resentment.
I will never meet his kid. I don’t care. I know it’s not the child’s fault, and maybe I’m being immature, but that child is living proof of the betrayal towards my mom.
I’m not going to let my mom know that I know yet; her health isn’t the best and I don’t want her to have a heart attack from springing it onto her too suddenly.
I can’t be around my dad right now. I feel so unbelievably nauseous whenever I see him. My birthday was next week—I had things planned, but I cancelled it all. I’m gonna be living with my aunt for a little while (my aunt has known about this for years) until I can process this somewhat. My teachers are allowing me to do all my assignments online and I found cover for my job, so I should be set.
If anyone has gone through something similar, please give me advice.

Don’t be pressured in meeting your half-sister. Process your feelings first before doing something you don’t want to do.
Also, don’t believe the words of the cheater. Looks like the affair continued even after the birth of your half-sister, hence the boy. Legally, that’s his son and is entitled to support and inheritance.
Your mother might have not known at all. Or maybe she only knew about the daughter but not the son. Be there for your mom. If I were you, I’ll encourage her to leave your father.

I truly believe he’s lying to me and everyone else about the son, because then it would prove the affair wasn’t a one time thing like he claims it is.
Thankfully my mom does know about both- a quick debrief with my aunt (her sister not my dad’s) confirmed that she had known ever since the woman was pregnant. That communication confirms that he's continued a relationship with his mistress more than just to co-parent the girl. There is no reason for him to have contact or a relationship with the boy, naming him and financially, if that wasn't his child. If he wasn't still cheating, then he shouldn't have two children with his name getting financial assistance from him. Any financial help he provided outside the daughter would have been taken from your family.
You should definitely speak with your mother and help her if she's not gotten help.

I want to do everything.
Hi I am 19(f) and just finished up my freshman year of college. I am an animation major but my issue here is that I have a list of careers I want to do in my life. I am having a bit of a crisis because I want to have a chance to do it all. Yes I’m so huge into animation right now, I would love to have a career in that field for at least some time, i’m also a tv and film minor and think I could enjoy some of the tech aspects of film, I was originally an audio production major and wanted to do sync licensing for film and I would still love to do that. None of these jobs require a degree and mostly rely on connections so I think I have a good amount of open doors there. But I also really really want to be a tree arborist. I am a rock climber and a nature lover and fairly good at biology, I do believe I would need a bachelors degree for that though which would mean doing college again (which I wouldn’t mind I love learning!) It is also a dream of mine to work in wildlife rescue and maybe travel. I also want to be a tower technician, I don’t know if I really need any experience to do that but it does seem to require you to travel a bit. I want to be an EMT at some point and maybe a firefighter from there if the opportunity presents itself. And i’ve for a long time decided that once I reach 50/60 I want to be a highschool art teacher no doubt. I want to do all of these things and I am determined to do so I just need to form a logical plan, I am really passionate about my current animation major so I do think I will stick with it for now but I want to be building a foundation for other opportunities as well. Death Grips is conceived to sound like popular music from the next century. Their aesthetic goal is what Stefan describes as "familiar music of the future," with pop(ular) form as the conscious medium by which to achieve that--the standard being "it has to be blowing systems in 2099."
How does one reverse engineer future music? it's essentially an act of science fiction, namely speculative fiction. One has to ask oneself, what does popular music sound like 100 years in the future?
As in all good science fiction about the future, one doesn't merely blindly guess. one looks at the present and the past and sees what is happening, what has lasted, what feels timeless now, and what feels arbitrary and passing now. This reveals what cyclical tendencies are, what the transhistorical throughlines are, if any.
As per them referring to it as a musical "mantra," (same interview linked above) I think that DG landed on the idea that primal, tribal pulse and "the use of negative space within bounce" are timeless universals--as per the deterministic tendencies of terrestrial human biology, and that the language of pop structure will continue to persist as a cross-culturally unifying global commodity as technocapitalist globalization only expands and accelerates.
Markets accelerate the deterministic tendencies of human biology, bodies pushed to their own respective and communal limits as the demands of both advertising, consumer-tribal coercion, and commodities themselves necessarily grow more narcotic and compulsive in relational nature and technology only deepens the possibilities and power of this process over the original, flailing ape with headphones on.
In other words, pop is both a military-grade weapon but also employs the base 'truth' of human rhythm, mutating in extremity, complexity, and innovation along with the culture around it. The beat hacks and hijacks, possesses the body. Once one understands what the language of both pop and the universalizing primal elements within it constitutes, one has a skeleton key to what will happen to animal ears of the future, in essence far more than exactitude(which is never what matters most in speculative fiction anyway).
Not from the future as such but for the future. Match the mentality that leads the charge of innovation and acceleration in musical cultures and follow that to its natural extremities--how the ape plugs into culture and vice-versa. Not predicting, but channeling. Cyber audiomancy that reflects the future by plunging through the tribal past that walks among us everyday in the core of what infects people most in good beats, and which is paramount when stepping into any distinctly tribal culture still accessible, however scathed or not colonially speaking.
To this end, The Money Store is consciously a post-globalized 'third world' internetted capsule of frequently explicitly tribal, bounce-based rhythms that exhibit tight pop structure and hooks but tend to rest on timbre, texture, and atonality over traditional popular western chord structures, keys, or melodies for its novelty and thrills.
In constructing the classic music of future, the universalizing conceit of the tribal beat, that bounce that, as I think Zach even cites at one point, mirrors the beat of the heart are preserved as cultural universals(as they say in anthropology), whilst the potentially too-culturally-specific factors of distinctively typical scales and chord progressions are eschewed in favor of the rhizomatic, decentralized, increasingly digitalized, fractalized modes of the future. The things favored by space and facelessness; the blur, the shatter, the disintegrant. No obvious regional context or stationed there for long, the slither of a global mind that swims too fast to be defined by exact old-world geographic means of thinking or expressing.
In this is the estimative leap, following the tendencies of where both avant-garde and electronic music had been heading towards the end of the century, that there is a casted focus on fragmented samples that move too fast to describe or locate in their original state, emphasis on texture over symphonic progression, and laser-like atonal top-lines over conventional scales and themes. The quintessence of all elements themselves humbled and equalized under their innate distortability as sound, subject to any bend of pitch-shifting or granular synthesis…"it sounds like a broadcast because it is a broadcast" (again from the Quietus interview).
That is basically how to transpose "future primitive digital" (I link True Vulture for the full phrase but the "future primitive" has been employed by the band many times in various contexts) into musical form; the original monkey jacked into the accelerating vectors of the internet, the hub of an ever-increasingly post-human society (mentally and physically speaking), where one is beset with adaptation to inhospitable norms that hijack and mine the depths and stocks of human brain chemicals to facilitate maximum ad traffic…A 24/7 lighted vista of neural heroin (not that old-world dope isn't neural in nature, but) where one can live psychically, but the problem of the body remains, as the body remains. The ape. The part with the heart, the thing that moves to a beat, that dances and grooves to the pulse of a drop.
Embracing the digital landscape with total acknowledgement and awareness of the limits and benefits of a body is how I would describe "future primitive" in totem, and I think the above paragraph is exactly how musically one would adapt those aspects technically. The primal body (pulse) and the hyper-mutated head (dissolving of all other boundaries and signifiers into warpspeed stew that fires too fast for old-world blues scales).
In 2099, people may not know or care about Smoke On The Water, but will know what roaring bass and shrieking treble means, because it's a matter of feeling, not history. Core and edge that survives archeological time, a kind of musical esperanto meant to be accessible in the future across the globe, down to how so often even the lyrics employ phrases and words from various languages very casually, non-chalantly alongside English.
Another kind of post-globalization polyglottal memetic sleight of hand is how multinational corpo artifacts like the McDonald's logo, brandnames like Toyota, Apple, or Google, original peak-era cellular ringtones, PC system sounds, and the music in commercials are meant to be recognizable, pronounceable(in the case of the language entailed), and sensorily resonant across planetary culture. I believe it's highly arguable that PC system sounds, og-era ringtones, and earworm ad jingles are a huge inspiration for the melodies and samples on ExMil and TMS, and it's also circularly fitting that many of those are engineered to have cross-cultural appeal, unbound by exactly regionally discernible musicality, tending towards heavily decontextualized melody lines or one or two notes overall.
This universality is not quite a humanist togetherness that's aspired to here, but more so merely one of utility and realism--fiercely armed and insured mobile cultural currency. This is the way the world is heading, acceleration and mutation is inevitable, unswervable, one can tap into its power by riding the wave aesthetically as lucidly as possible and rendering something that will, by virtue of its impact, thread both global and immediate cultural-historical lines. The 'future' is a mentality meaning primarily to not be bound by the confines of tradition and persistent baseless ritual, to think beyond, to feel outside of conventional structures, and so the universality of the future music on TMS is just as much about self-liberation and exchange of communally experienced empowerment as it is about wanting to be understood or standing some test of abstract time.
And of course it's the music of the impoverished, the music of the tribe. "Poverty and bass" being cited as their primary inspiration in that one early interview. I think somewhat in tandem with those early interviews where Zach describes this very explicitly cyberpunk vision of how we live now feeling like the dark ages(particularly re inequality) but with all this insane technology that is simultaneously dangerous but also yielding togetherness and progress. I think it's no mistake that Zach also cites arte povera as an aesthetic reference point for DG and this is reflected in the music here too. It's not just conscious of the morays of global popular and personal culture, it's instructively demonstrating an archetypally cyberpunk vision wherein one can jam and smash together the trashiest random youtube samples, old-school hiphop nods, drumline rattles, and drum circle rhythms with Aphex-like sleekness and live-rave intensity with very low production value and/or budget. "Third world in a first world," a more concise and materialistically inclined revision of the old 'high-tech/low-life' adage regarding cyberpunk's tendencies.
"We’re inspired by the future primitive life. We talk about experiencing the cusp of the digital age. Seeing it accelerate literally everyday is very influential. To experience everything becoming rapidly techno and simultaneously knowing this is still medieval times is strange. It’s interesting to think about what you hold onto from the past and what part of the oncoming unknown you embrace, on all levels". (Vice interview, April 2012).

This is a throwaway, and the TLDR is at the bottom. Sorry this is long, but it is necessary to understand my predicament and situation.
I (currently 17M) have liked this girl, we’ll call her K, (currently 17F) for about 1.5 years. It all started 1.5 years ago, when we were in the same honors English class. We started talking a bit and had a group project together and somehow by someway, I ended up falling for her. She’s smart, funny, cute, has a great personality, and is hardworking. We started talking more in class, and eventually I gathered enough courage to ask for her number one day, and to my utter surprise and joy, she actually gave it to me! After that, we started talking quite a lot in school and for hours over text for many days. We were chatting about so many things, even personal things as well. Things were going really, really well, and naturally the next step would have been for me to ask her out. And I would’ve, except there was one hurdle stopping me: my parents.
I’m Indian but have lived my entire life in the US. She is white. My parents are fairly up-to-date on changing times and believe in things like how dumb strict gender roles are. They also aren’t entirely stereotypically asian in that they absolutely demand for me to become a doctor or a lawyer or whatever else, and this applies for a lot of other things as well.
The one thing that they are entirely adamant on, however, is that they want to see me “settled down.” By this, they explicitly mean that they want to choose who I marry (an arranged marriage) based on things like caste and horoscopes and whatever else. They believe that to be the best way to have a successful relationship in life. They have strictly told me no dating and no relationships other than who they end up choosing later on. I, not wanting to start world war 3 at home, have complied, and as I hadn’t felt anything towards anyone, it didn’t really impact me straight away. That being said, I don’t believe in such arranged marriages. I am certain that the best relationship is with the one who you truly love and know and understand. I haven’t voiced these concerns to them yet, as I know it will end up causing a strong rift and divide in my family, potentially meaning severed ties.
Back to 1.5 years ago when I was talking to K for hours and hours, I realized that I should, logically speaking, ask her out on an official date. However, I also realized that was held back by my parents’ restrictions. To ask K out, I would have to fight my parents, which would have certainly meant some pretty strong consequences. In short, I was conflicted. I really like K, but that would come at the expense of my parents’ singular dream. They’ve said many times in their life that their only life goal is to see me settled down like I said above. They want to see me married to someone of their own choosing. I’ve seen just how much they’ve sacrificed for me. They’ve sacrificed their time, where they lived, friends and family by moving to US to give me a better life, night shifts, and so much more. So to me, asking K out would have shattered their one dream, and I feel morally guilty about that. How can I just take the one thing that they still want in life away from them? On the other hand, I can’t see myself spending decades with someone I didn’t truly know or love at the same time. I was so incredibly conflicted and confused and didn’t know what to do. I didn’t think I could tell anyone at the time. My parents, of course not, and friends I didn’t know if I could trust enough with such a crucial aspect of my life.
Because of this confusion with no one to share, I became completely lost, and it showed in the most unfortunate way possible. I became somewhat distant and less involved with K. We didn’t talk much at all after a while. For instance, in our chemistry class (the semester after I got her number) we sat right next to each other by pure coincidence and barely talked to each other. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to. I opened and closed my mouth so many times, confused. I wanted to talk to her, I still really liked her, but then the problem with my parents still existed. We kind of drifted over time. I still texted her every once and a while, but it was nowhere near what it was before, even though I still liked her a lot. Eventually, I just ended up hiding these feelings since I didn’t have an outlet.
Fast forward about 1.5 years later. About a month ago, we happened to be going on the same field trip. On the way back, we were sitting right next to each other, and I ended up starting a conversation. We talked for most of the way back. During this time, all of the feelings I had previously hidden came flooding back to me. I realized how much I still liked her. For the next month, all I could think about is her, what happened 1.5 years ago and how I stopped talking as much and my parents. For the next month, we texted fairly often, but it was usually me starting conversations. It’s all that was on my mind. It was driving me insane. One sleepless night I decided it was time to confess to her all of this.
Two days ago, we ended up talking for a bit after I asked her a few days earlier. I told her all of what I said above. I told her how I liked her then, how I like her now. I also apologized over and over again for not talking to her earlier about my problem with my parents and instead just becoming shy and less talkative with her. I said that it made me feel really, really terrible that I did such a bad thing, and hoped she would forgive me. After I was done talking, she asked me what the end goal of the conversation was. I told her I didn’t entirely know. I know for sure that I wanted to say sorry for my actions, but I didn’t know myself what else I held this conversation for. Then she started talking. She said that 1.5 years ago when we first started talking the feelings between us were mutual. She said she felt towards me what I had towards her. However, she said that she didn’t know if she wanted to be more than friends now. She also said that it wasn’t entirely my fault for not talking as much, because she said that it takes two people in order to stop a conversation. She said that she admits she didn’t talk as much as she once did. Basically, she told me she liked me before, but now didn’t know/thinks it's best to just stay friends. I said that I really like hestill do, but that I understood that I screwed up big time the first time, and agreed that we can be friends.
Immediately after we said goodbye and she left, I basically crumpled to the ground in a sobbing mess. I regretted not asking hetelling her 1.5 years ago when we first started talking. I couldn’t help but feel that things could’ve worked out differently if I had asked her out then. I was really hoping she would express that she was still interested in me, but that wasn’t the case and I was devastated. I really did like her, and it felt like I was the first idiot in the world to be friendzoned AFTER she was interested in me.
I told two friends about everything a week before I had my conversation with her. After I told them what she said, they both pretty much said that I need to just relax, and just let life unfold before me. One told me to just let it go by accepting what happened and doing what made me happy. Perhaps I’d get another chance with her, maybe not, but I’d certainly lose more chances if I remained hung up. The other told me just to resume normal friendship
I also told a teacher that I’m really close with. She basically said to just keep trucking through life and talk to her as I normally would and not change anything. She said that if K liked me before and the biggest reason why she doesn't now is simply because of the time we didn’t talk much, then it may be the case I might get another chance if I talked to her normally.
Here’s what I need advice on: Should I just give up? Should I still be friends with K? Should I distance myself? If I should let it go, how do I do that? What should I do in general??? We have clubs/classes together, and will have multiple classes together next year. In fact, Monday I have a club meeting with her and just one other person. I feel so frustrated at myself at how stupid I was, and it's eating me up from the inside. I’m just so confused and saddened and scared.

I work in a low income middle school where the student body embodies every stereotype of students in this era. They are (a generalization) several years behind academically and socially, addicted to their phones, apathetic, disengaged, disrespectful, and have any and all behavior excused by their parents and blamed on the staff and other students.
This year we have a new teacher (keeping it vague just in case anyone from my area is on here) who came to the district because they wanted to “work with disadvantaged kids.” They gave off a Michelle Peiffer in Dangerous Minds attitude- they were going to come in and hard ass the hooligans into believing in themselves and achieving academic success. Since we don’t live in a 1990’s movie, this didn’t work. Over 50% of the students are going to fail this class for the year.
I absolutely support holding kids to your expectations and standards, but this teacher would, for example, dock 15 points if the kids didn’t show up for their bi-weekly Monday spelling test with a pencil, pen, and lined paper. On a regular day they needed their Chromebook and maybe something to write with.
I’m not really sure what my question is. Maybe where is the line between holding kids accountable and not having realistic expectations? Or perhaps, what to do with teachers who come in with a savior attitude (while looking down on the demographic they are “saving”). When looking at whether a student should be promoted to the next grade how much weight do I give to the failure of a student in a class where 50% failed? Maybe I just need to vent, maybe you brilliant humans have the perfect solution for me, maybe I just need reassurance I’m not the only one in this weird ass position.

APUSH Teacher (9 / 10), I had him for three years, he was the mock trial club sponsor, and I was his TA. We had a great relationship.
Econ Teacher (9.5 / 10), I was able to read this letter (he showed me without asking), and it was so over the top. In addition, without me asking, he wrote a letter to my top school telling them how good of a student I was and how I would attend.
Principal (9/10), I worked very closely with the principal and he gave some very specific and unique praise.
Counselor (6?/10). Did not interact with them a lot and I had some issues with them, but I was very involved with the school and had good grades so I feel like it would be nothing too good or too bad.
Interviews
Harvard - 8/10. Went for two hours and I really enjoyed talking with him. I kept in touch with him after my interview as well.
Princeton - 8/10. I enjoyed talking with her and she was interested in the same items as me.
Yale - 9/10. It was a weird interview but I think he really liked me me. It was also a little weird because he asked for me to teach him how binary numbers work, and good router recommendations.
Dartmouth - 8/10. He was also an Eagle Scout, so we bonded over it.
Duke - 10/10. She was a Judge and we really bonded. I said the perfect things to say without me knowing I should say them if that makes sense. Really enjoyed talking with her.
Essays
Essays were meh except one supplemental for Yale. My main was maybe a 7/10. I've lived a really boring life so I didn't have a lot to talk about. My main essay was tying my love for a specific genre of music into some activities done over the years.

I received a wonderful email from my filler Yale filler AO who loved my common app essay topic and one of my supplementals. As I said above, I do plan on reading my admissions file and will post later. I also plan on doing an AMA when after I read my files.
My advice is to start early. Identify who your LOR's will be and ask them by the end of April. Start drafting an outline for your common app essay. Also enjoy what you do. I did what I loved and it showed with my EC's. Also don't take 6 AP's senior year. It made a stressful year even more stressful. Lmk if you have any questions.

Just wanted to share my frantic and strange studying experience with the sub to (1) encourage others that YES it's possible, (2) give back some of my resources and (3) just let it all out, haha.
Background: i'm a female who's worked as a jr cybersecurity analyst for just over a year now, but that hasn't involved doing anything particularly technical in any one given area, apart from perhaps some firewall development & network setups. Mostly write-ups, reports and routine monitoring using existing tools. So it was better than nothing as a background, but I was only working 2 days a week and studying full time in a completely unrelated degree (film) so my life was pretty all over the place.
When I started: I began studying the Sec+ 601 on-and-off in June 2023, alongside (& in my downtime, sometimes at) work and uni. For those who don't know, the exam vouchers last up to a year, so the last date I could take the exam was 28th of June 2024. And the exam my voucher was valid for, the Sec+ 601, would be retiring at the end of July 2024.
Why I picked the Sec+ 601 over the Sec+ 701: because (a) I was initially spooked by the supposed jump in content between the two, (b) there were a wealth of materials already built & tested for the 601 out there, and (c) the 601 would still be valid until 2027, and I could take the CertMaster CE to renew to the 701/801 when needed which is substaintially less pressure than taking the exam from scratch (imo).
My study method:

• Watching Professor Messer's (god bless the man) 601 video series whilst taking copious notes on a series of Notion pages. This was my main form of study from June 2023 - March 2024, although it can (and imo you definitely should aim for it to be) be completed in a much shorter time period. Unfortunately my life circumstances got in the way of that, meaning I had long-term/continued exposure for general knowledge, but lack of content freshness when it came to revising in the weeks leading up to the exam.
• My Notion Notes: I broke them down into the 5 exam domains.pdf), and then one page per each objective/subsection (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.) of the domains. My notion pages are linked here, for those who want a perusal. I went a bit crazy trying to colour code and organise them in places (which wasted a lot of time), so my biggest rec would have been sticking with noting down key points, and highlighting NEW information/bits you think you might need to revisit to make revising through them and making flashcards in the future MUCH quicker.
• Complimenting my notes with Arthur Conklin's All-In-One Exam Guide for Security+ 601 (6th edition. This involved cross-referencing the objectives sheet and making sure I had a definition/understanding of every listed concept and looking it up in this book if Messer had missed it. I also found it incredibly helpful for making/embellishing my definition flash cards when I was revising the content in the weeks prior to the exam. All in all, it can go a bit too in depth/off-track in places (which you learn to identify over time) but was an invaluable resource, especially for the final push.
• CompTIA® SECURITY+ PRACTICE TESTS Second Edition EXAM SYO-601 and its accompanying online/app question bank. This was a lifesaver for its massive question bank which was for the most part, fairly similar to the content on the exam. If you buy/download the PDF, visit their linked website to get access to an app & browser based question bank (1,000+ Qs) and two practice exams. You just have to verify you have a copy of the PDF, by inputting what words select Qs end/start with, etc. when prompted online. Is a free resource for those with the PDF (or at least, they tout it to be in the book).
• Using the following prompt with Chat GPT whilst making my definition cards in the revising period (3-4 weeks before the exam). This info was by large very helpful, but only once you know the content so you can sniff out any errors and cross-reference.

My Timeline:

• June 2023 - March 2024: Completing Professor Messer's YouTube 601 course whilst taking notes in Notion.
• April 2024: Freaking out because I only had a few months to take the exam, and trying to figure out my study method. Realised taking it in June wasn't an option due to external commitments didn't exactly help.
• May 1st - May 27th: Took the Messer Practice Test A, got 82%. Began revising all the content from beginning to end, by going through the 5 exam domains.pdf) and ticking off each concept I knew thoroughly, and creating definition flashcards for any of those that I didn't. Cross-referenced using my previous Notion notes, Conklin's textbook & filled in any conceptual holes with ChatGPT. Also got an Audible free trial (using a Revolut digital card) to listen to Conklin's textbook as an Audiobook whilst walking places, brushing up on chapters like cryptography, authentication protocols and any other areas of weakness identified in my tests/study.
• May 27th - May 30th: Taking the remaining two Messer practice exams, and a whole bunch of practice questions (around half, and 1 practice exam) from the sybex online question bank. Rolling around on the floor a bit in panic sometimes, but supplementing with breaks (and also still doing uni :') and took a day off before the exam to properly get into the mindset.

My key takeaways/lessons learnt:

• I should have studied more intensely/purposefully over a shorter time. Dragging it out did not do wonders for my mental health (as someone with anxiety, OCD & a whole host of other things). The last 4 weeks I felt more on top of the content than I did staggering the study over the 6+ months in 2023.
• Set the exam date so you have a goal, and don't end up in the aforementioned "endless study route" rut. Especially if you're a perfectionist. Because there are so many rabbit holes you can (and I did) fall down...
• Knowing the context, pros/cons, & use cases for common protocols/technologies to pick the best for a given scenario is a must. When I was revising I focused mostly on understanding in what cases something was used, and why/why not. See linked quizlet notes.
• The exam Qs are (as others have said) a little harder but QUITE similar to professor Messer's practice exams, and also (at least imo) to the Sybex questionbank Qs. There were a decent number of acronyms in my actual exam, & a fair few use case/ambiguous wording Qs as well, so both of these Question banks/exam sets are as close as you can get to the real thing (imo)
• Skim over but skip the PBQs if they are not immediately obvious, and do not forget to come back to them at the end (try to leave at LEAST 20min).
• Try not to spend more than a minute per MCQ before picking your best guess, flagging it if you're unsure, and then moving on. ALWAYS put in your BEST GUESS (process of elimination!) as you may not have time to re-check them all at the end. I know I didn't.

The Big Bad Exam: 794/900, ~88% (30th May).

• Messer Practice Test B - 80%. (27th May)
• Messer Practice Test C - 87%. (28th May)
• Sybex Practice Exams on the app: 80%, 85%, 90%, 87% (Various)

Just crosses my mind since it’s so easy to hate Trump.
I haven’t followed too much Republican nominees, I knew people really hated that Indian guy, I know Ted Cruz, and the guy with the eye patch, and RFK.
But more broadly since I want to break past the “leftists” mentality, I hope people aren’t THAT stuck to their side, I just am curious what would be the best Republican that you would actually vote for over Biden? If conservatives want to win, what is the answer?
(I only use leftists as a grab, I also am not looking for a RINO obviously)

To clarify, I am Canadian, so forgive me that we have a quite liberal leader who has grown insufferable. Frankly he always was but he won off legalizing weed and now we can’t get rid of him. He’s not bad but he’s definitely further left than Biden with the arrogance of Trump. I liked Stephen Harper. Just wondering who in the RNC could achieve a similar outlook that Harper did. (We didn’t have the 2008 financial crisis because he weathered it very well)

repost with more editing and less panic bc my last post was so frantic I accidentally included the name of my school in the post: gonna be a freshman… have no idea how high school works… no idea what classes to take, no idea what the difference between an A- and A+ is, no idea how AP classes even work, super scared I’m gonna flop and end up at a random state school for college… I have soooo much anxiety about starting high school and it’s not bc I’m nervous abt new school, it’s bc I don’t want to flop and end up working sad 9-5 office job and be stuck in one place for the rest of my life… my Spanish and avid teacher both told me I was gonna flop and be a failure and never be successful bc I was rude to them once or twice (I hope they both fall on concrete but I am not mad at them since I’ll never have to see them again) and they got into my head and now I can’t seem to get the idea out of my head that I don’t know anything… then I got a C on my report card in ELA and my mom went on a whole rant abt how I’d flop so hard in life if I got C’s in high school… idk man I feel an awful lot like a flop right now!!! 20 minutes ago I was panicking so hard abt this stuff and I made a super sloppy post so if you saw that messy post sorry!!! Asked my boss at work to write me a letter of rec, I've been working there for over 3 years and i attended the same place as a student for years before that, so I've known her for a long time and she knows how passionate I am about Comp Sci, especially the algorithmic and mathematical part of it (which was the part that I helped design), so should be pretty good
Counselor Rec: Should be pretty good, Ive been in contact a lot across my years of high school, always trying to improve academically and take more and harder courses, so she knows how good I am at Math and also how dedicated I am at my extracurricular activities, so this should be a good letter as well.
