Tuesday – June 7th (Wider Release: June 14th)

Tuesday is an A24 film co-produced with the BBC and BFI. It’s directed by first-time Croatian director Daina O-Pušić, who works out of London. The film stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a role quite different from her usual comedic performances. Tuesday is a psychological allegorical drama that follows a mother and her terminally ill daughter as they metaphorically and literally confront death, which appears as a physical being in the form of a bird. While the trailer might seem a bit cheesy, early reviews suggest it’s a serious exploration of death and metaphysics. It promises to be a deep and thought-provoking film.

I Used to Be Funny – June 7th (Available to Stream: June 18th)

I Used to Be Funny is the first feature from Canadian director Ally Pankiw. I was lucky enough to catch this film at the Calgary International Film Festival last year. It stars Rachel Sennott, who has been making a name for herself with critically acclaimed films like Shiva Baby, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Bottoms. In this film, Sennott plays a struggling comedian dealing with depression and PTSD. It’s a film that balances humor with a serious exploration of mental illness and family dynamics. Sennott’s performance stands out, and if you want to be ahead of the curve, this film is a must-watch. Plus, it features not one but two needle drops from Phoebe Bridgers, capturing the millennial and Gen Z angst perfectly.

Ghostlight – June 14th

Ghostlight, directed by Alex Thompson and Kelly O’Sullivan, premiered at Sundance and has received wide praise for its emotional depth and human portrayal of grief and familial relationships. The film stars real-life father and daughter Keith and Katherine Kupferer, which adds an extra layer of authenticity to their performances. The story follows a grieving father and daughter who reconnect through a play, specifically Romeo and Juliet. As a former high school English teacher, I promise I’m not biased towards this film just because of its Shakespearean elements. It’s a profound exploration of grief and features Dolly de Leon, who broke out in Triangle of Sadness. Look for it in limited release.

Kinds of Kindness – June 21st

Kinds of Kindness is the latest film from Yorgos Lanthimos, who recently directed Poor Things, which garnered multiple Academy Awards. This film played at the Cannes Film Festival and has received general praise. True to Lanthimos’s style, it’s weird and divisive, divided into three separate stories filled with violence, sex, and oddities. The cast includes Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Jesse Plemons, with Plemons winning the best acting award at Cannes. If you’re a fan of Lanthimos’s unique and offbeat films, Kinds of Kindness is a must-see.

Janet Planet – June 21st (Wider Release: June 28th)

Janet Planet marks the feature directorial debut of Annie Baker, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright. This A24 film is slow, methodical, and deeply rooted in character and relationship dynamics. It follows mother Janet and daughter Lucy over several months as they struggle with life and invite various people into their home. The film explores familial connections, particularly between mother and daughter, and addresses the universal struggle of figuring out life. Early reviews praise its blend of humor and human emotion, making it a compelling watch for fans of relationship-centric dramas.

A Sacrifice – June 28th

A Sacrifice, directed by Jordan Scott (daughter of Ridley Scott), is a psychological thriller starring Eric Bana and Sadie Sink. The film follows a psychiatrist trying to save his daughter from a cult. Although it hasn’t had a wide festival run, the film promises to be creepy and strange, although I'm pretty hesitant to suggest that she'll be able to capture much of her father's success. Still, it’s an intriguing project from a director willing to take risks, and it’s worth keeping an eye on to see how it turns out.

So I recently played and finished Robocop: Rogue City for the first time. After spending several days on it and thinking about my experience in hindsight, here's my verdict.....I really like it! Despite that I've only been into the Robocop franchise for about a week now, I'm already very impressed by how this game maintains the spirit of the first movie while delivering a satisfying gameplay loop to make me want to replay it.
First thing to talk about is the most important aspect, the gameplay. I gotta give all my props to Teyon because this feels like the definitive way of how a Robocop video game should play. The game is a first person shooter, but incorporates elements like Robocop's fist and his HUD/visors which I think really help make the experience more engaging. You also get to use the environment during gun fights like throwing explosive barrels or even using wall panels to ricochet your bullets off towards enemies to give you more creativity during gameplay. Something else that makes the game feel like a Robocop experience is whenever you are in a conversation with someone, the camera angle changes so you can see Robocop from a third person perspective when he's talking. I've yet to get all the upgrades, but I got a feeling the gameplay may be more fun with them unlocked.
Next up is the graphics and presentation. For a game made by a double A studio, it actually looks pretty damn good in my opinion. The environments and the visual effects look well designed, especially when I'm exploring the Downtown open world area. Seeing all the puddles on the ground reflecting light gives a lot of detail to the game, even if there's no ray tracing so you can see Robocop's reflection. Now the facial animations can be a little weak, but that's to be expected with this game's budget and it doesn't ruin the experience in any way.
But what really makes this game feel like a love letter to the franchise is how it handles the characters. We don't just see environments ripped out of the movies, all the characters like Anna Lewis, Sergeant Reeds and the Old Man are written very faithfully and makes the game feel like a proper sequel to Robocop 2. We also get new characters introduced in this game and each of them fleshes out the world in their own unique way. The two best examples I have are Pickles, a former addict who's trying to do something good and Ulysseus Washington, a rookie cop who wants to work hard so he can honor his family's generation of police officers.
Another thing that gives more depth to the game is the choice system of what kind of Robocop you want to be. It gives a lot of variety like making you choose whether to uphold the law or server the public trust, which does affect how the story goes and the development of characters around you. This can give the game a lot of replayability so you can make different choices and see how your experience is different each time you play.
As for the plot, I need to analyze it a bit more in case there's any plot holes or inconsistencies I overlooked. But it still has a lot I really like, especially the plotline of Robocop experiencing glitches that forces him to have psychological hallucinations that he needs to overcome, which makes for some of the darkest moments in the Robocop franchise imo. Hopefully if I find the number of plot issues to be minimal, I may like this game's story more than the original Robocop movie, which will be a massive hot take of mine.
Something else I like is that the game acknowledges the events of Robocop 2 and incorporates them into the narrative. They could've just ignored the second movie and only pay homage to the first one, but the fact that they didn't despite how flawed it is really shows how the developers aren't close minded to taking inspiration from things that didn't resonate that well with a lot of people. and it makes me appreciate Robocop 2 a little more.
Now there are some negatives I have. The main ones are sometimes during cutscenes, the character's voices are sound effects becomes delayed and fall behind the character's lip movements and the visual effects on screen, but was fixed when I reloaded the game and hopefully won't happen in my second playthrough. The other is I think the game's save system is kinda flawed. What I mean is when I want to change costumes, I have to exit my game, change in the main menu and then have to reload a conversation with an NPC that I already had. Wish there was a way to change costumes in game.
The save system can also be a pain during moments where if you die, you have to regain some tough progress. Like during the final boss, I died once when it was almost over and had to start the fight all over which frustrated me since I rather it spawned me about halfway through the fight or something more reasonable.
Other than that, this is a very solid game and one of the best things in the Robocop universe. It's not anything groundbreaking for video games, but it doesn't need to be since it has so much care for the IP compared to so much other modern media nowadays. I give Robocop: Rogue City somewhere between an 8 and a 9/10!

Yesterday I went down a rabbit hole of old versions of Ghost Riders in the Sky, because of that songwriting thread about the moderator who got broken up with. u/jarrodandrewwalker suggested we write him a song and that we steal the melody from Ghost Riders for a song about u/theyoung_wolfman's very dumb girl trouble.
Holy shit everybody recorded Ghost Riders. Some really surprising versions, too. I'm going to post a couple of them today.

(I'm not depressed or anything or wanting attention) Some of my hobbies and interests are movies, reading, cooking, kayaking, records, video games, board games, snorkeling, bowling, swimming, escape rooms, puzzles and antiquing. I would describe myself as more goofy and dorky than nerdy. I like to go out and do fun things but also stay in and cuddle and relax. I guess it depends on my mood and the weather. I prefer the cold and would love to live in a state with actual seasons and snow. I'm 5'10, stocky AKA fat and open for adventure and new experiences.

This is my planned build. Note that I already own the SSD as part of my current PC. I just added it for completeness.
I am generally pretty happy with the parts I chose (but I would still appreciate some feedback in case there are some things I can improve). I just have a few final questions:

1. Do I need additional fans for the case or is the combination of CPU cooler and GPU fans enough to keep everything at a good temperature? If I do need additional fans, any recommendations for which ones and how many I should buy?
2. PCPartpicker says the following under "Compatibility Notes": "The video card PCIe 16-pin power connector adapter is being supplied by three 6+2-pin power connectors. Please ensure that the three 6+2-pin power connectors are not daisy-chained and do not share the same power cable." Why does it need three 6+2 connectors instead of just two and what does daisy-chained mean?
3. PCPartPicker also says: "Some physical constraints are not checked, such as RAM clearance with CPU Coolers." Does this just mean that I may not be able to install the RAM after installing the CPU cooler or does it mean that CPU cooler and RAM may occupy the same space and therefore cannot be installed at the same time? Is that something I need to worry about with this build?

• Capture Ideas When They Strike: Don’t wait until you’re ready to create to start looking for ideas/references, it should be a continuous process. I often used to look for a perfect reference for too long, get frustrated and end up not creating anything. Now, I make it a habit to capture my ideas as they come—in an organized space where I can easily find them later.
• Don’t Wait for the Right Moment to create: Practise and experiment consistently, even just a few minutes a day - it is a key to building a habit and keeping creativity flowing. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, I've learned that regular practice helps overcome the fear of failure and perfectionism. As Picasso said, “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” ;)

Based on that experience and research, I’m currently working on a tool for artists, which I’m convinced will help you as much as it has helped me to grow as an artist. Here’s what it currently offers:

I'll just quickly go over my life and then get into now
Lost my father at the age of four, In 9th grade (15yrs) I got ocd diagnosed by a professional which led to me feeling like a slave. It took me 2+ hours to shower, I had horrible skin and it was painful, anxious all the time. (My mother also had ocd). I got professional help and started going on anti depressants. Stuff got better and I started enjoying life but it was a horrible road. I had for a long time been obsessive in stuff like my weight, forehead, clothing and in general just being scared of getting hated on. I was never obese or anything, I was a little overweight but you couldn't see it on me. I have a larger forehead, but it's nothing crazy.
Fast forward to 16-17. I started struggling in school and started losing hope where I was almost determined to quit school. Struggling with attention and had no motivation to do shit. Adhd had been speculated since I was 4 years of age, Got adhd diagnosed by a professional at early 17. Started trying medications and felt shit, didn't want to eat and was always feeling a bit nauseas.
Now I'm getting close to my 18th birthday (in august) and I am struggling with having often suicidal thoughts and thoughts of afterlife. I try to cope with finding religion and life philosohpies but I don't agree with any religion. I have settled in daotism and spirituality but I still just feel like I want to still end it.
I have never been serious and never believed in depression and always have had a life of rainbows, but now I'm at my lowest and don't know if I can survive. I have a good life and can do stuff that I want, I have a sidejob with video editing which is something I love and I make decent money for my age, I also have a loving and caring mother and uncle, grandma, aunt, cousin, grandfather that I love with all of my heart. But I feel empty. I want to kill myself but I don't want to die. I want my pain to stop but I just cant see any light. I'm gonna die eventually and I don't know if it's worth to speed up the process or not.
I believe in karma and that I will have a good afterlife but I just cant feel stress free and relieved. I listen to music to supress my feelings and everything but It's just getting too much to me and I don't know what to say.
My relatives have struggled with drugs and heavy drinking and I feel like I will be next if I don't get fixed.
I'm sorry if I'm just typing random shit but I don't know what to do.
I have only discussed this topic lightly with my mom where I went into the topic of afterlife but no one really knows how I feel deeply inside. All my friends and school mates see me as a happy and energetic teenager with a big dream but in reality it's not really like that.

Hi, so I'm looking for a bit of advice because I'm stuck in a position and I dont really know what to do.
My boyfriend has been teaching me how to drive since mid February, it was him that suggested it in the first place and I agreed. All he asked for is that I pay him back with buying him a Starbucks drink, or food sometimes. He has taught me everything I know, including some maneuvers so now all I need to learn is 3 of them. He has taken me on long drives and taught me a lot which I do appreciate, plus as agreed I get him a Starbucks and buy him food (although that had been shared more between us 2 and the main "payment" made by me was Starbucks which we made clear).
Since I've been driving I've tried to find a driving instructor which he is aware of, to teach me the things he doesn't know and test requirements for when I go on my practical test. I found a driving instructor who had kept postponing my lesson and whilst this process was ongoing my boyfriend was still teaching me what I know and letting me practice in his car. He said that once I get a driving instructor he will no longer teach me maneuvers since the instructor will teach me it one way and he would another, just causing us to argue which I said was fine. When we go out, I am usually the one driving and if he needs to run errands he takes me with him on a drive to practice instead. Although I have mentioned this driving instructor a few times I think he has gotten a bit jealous of the fact he won't be teaching me anymore.
Since I have been driving the car mostly he has asked me to fill up the car with fuel a few times which I am okay with and more than happy to do, I have also offered to fill the car up before to which he has either declined or told me to pay a 50/50 amount. I have said to him if the car needs filled up just to tell me to fill it up and I will.
A few days before my driving lesson he ended up telling me to cancel my learner insurance on the car after we argued about something, tell me to get my new driving instructor to teach me instead and that I don't need to use his car to drive anymore so I ended up cancelling my insurance. As I was doing so I looked at the refund payment and seen that it was £6 something, so I started giggling to myself, he them asked me what I wad laughing at as I hit the cancel button and told him which he then proceeded to get annoyed at and argue with me again saying I shouldn't have cancelled my insurance. This was so frustrating since he just told me to cancel my insurance and then questioned me as to why I did it, as if he didn't just tell me to do so? I think this might be because he's upset eith me for getting a driving instructor instead of allowing him to teach me the rest of the maneuvers.
Today I have had my driving lesson with the driving instructor, it was an hour long drive and when I came back I told my boyfriend what happened and the advice the driving instructor gave me. I personally thought it was a pointless driving lesson, since I already knew what to do and got complimented on my ability to approach roundabouts and junctions etc. and the next time he sees me he will teach me the maneuvers I don't know yet. He told me to watch some YouTube videos on how to do the maneuvers which is what I have already done with my boyfriend and to practice them before my next lesson with him. He is currently going away on holiday for 2 weeks. I have decided that there is no longer any need for him to teach me and will not be pursuing any more professional driving lessons since I can do it for free and practice in my own time watching the videos he has recommended.
I have told my boyfriend about this and told him that I won't be taking lessons anymore since I found it pointless, telling him I will ask my mam to help me complete my maneuvers and watch the videos. I think he got a bit offended when I mentioned this to him. He then asked me what car I will be using and who's car I will take to the driving test, so I said either my mam's car or her boyfriend.
Disclaimer: he does not like my mother's boyfriend after I had a few arguments with him and said I also dislike him but stay civil with him for the sake of my mam.
My boyfriend then got more annoyed and angry saying that I have been using him and that he has wasted plenty of time trying to teach me and has recieved nothing for the time he has gave up teaching me. I then asked him what he meant since he only asked me for payment in Starbucks and never asked for money from me, which he replied saying that he was embarrassed and he only hinted at me paying him a few times and now he is demanding £200 for the time he gave up for me.
I never asked him to teach me the rest of the maneuvers that I don't know since I feel he has already done enough for me and I was a bit salty about the fact he told me to cancel my insurance and constantly arguing with me about the driving, along with the fact that I know he would be snarky about me asking the driving instructor to teach me in the first place instead of letting him teach me the maneuvers then coming back to him to ask for help. We have been arguing about this for 2 hours straight now since I've just got back from my lesson.
Any advice on what I should do?

In just eight years Loom went from $0 and maxed out credit cards to a $975M exit.
Founders Vinay Hiremath, Shahed Khan, and Joe Thomas, along with their awesome team (more on this later) built Loom around customer obsession and creating the best product for that customer.
The Loommates are on a mission to superpower productivity by challenging the status quo of text and live video calls.
To get here though Loom took a bit of a windy road - with two name changes and a few repositioning. Loom launched in 2015 as Opentest, but it was only in 2016, when the Loom we know today started to take shape, launching a Chrome extension under the product name Openvid.
Good thing they changed the name.
Then in October 2023, after having raised just over $200M up until this point, Loom was acquired for $975M by Atlassian.
Today Loom has 21M users at over 350k companies - including Tesla, Apple, Goldman Sachs, and Amazon
But this isn’t about where Loom is today.

Loom’s Growth

The first iteration of Loom launched back in 2015.
The original idea was to help teams gather feedback through video. It was a one-line code injection to enable you to record your screen, yourself, and your audio, and was called Opentest.
They believed deeply in the power of video but quickly realized that this was not the right angle to approach the problem.
So in June 2016 they repurposed Opentest’s video feature into a Chrome extension and launched it as Openvid on Product Hunt - testing if there was interest in its new use case.
Within the first 24 hours they had 3,000 new users.
More than the previous six months combined.
Safe to say there was interest.
They now had their first users. Users who loved the product. A simple free Chrome extension that allowed you to record and share videos via a link.
No clunky video editing software or huge files. Just a Chrome extension and a link.
Then after speaking to some of their users, Loom learned that video could solve communication issues at the workplace - particularly for remote teams.
And so in 2017, they rebranded to Loom and positioned themselves as the go-to solution to replace the hassles of written communication.
Loom also had one more major shift in positioning and strategy - but more on that later.
Ending 2019, Loom was doing $720k ARR.
From here, growth sped up.
By the end of 2021, Loom was doing $35M ARR. And by October 2023, $50M ARR.
To get here Loom raised a total of $203M over the last seven years. But it hasn’t been without some hiccups.
In May 2021, Loom raised $130M at a $1.5B valuation. But for various reasons, some out of Loom’s control, such as mass ending to WFH policies and economic downturns, Loom took a bit of a valuation hit post-Covid.
Loom was acquired by Atlassian for $975M in October 2023.
This decreased valuation was likely also in part to Loom fundraising during an overinflated market.
However, being acquired for close to $1B is still an insanely impressive feat. I just wanted to mention this to give you the full story and perhaps a precautionary tale on raising in an inflated market.
There are still many lessons to be learned from Loom’s journey. Experiencing rapid growth and reaching over 20M users.

Key Success Factors (KSFs)

There have been many reasons for Loom’s exponential growth. But here are three that stood out to me, particularly early on in Loom’s journey.

🗣️ 1. Action user feedback:

After launching on Product Hunt, Loom (then Openvid) grew to 10k users in three months. Users were giving them feedback and they loved the product.
They had validated that video was filling the need to improve communication.
Instead of relying on sales and marketing teams to drive growth, they went all in on a Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategy. A strategy that relies on using your product as the main vehicle to acquire, activate, and retain customers.
But to maximize their PLG, Loom focused on getting two key things right:

1. Fast or instant time to value ⌛️

Loom met this first piece of the PLG puzzle by delivering value within minutes.
All you had to do was add the Chrome extension to your browser and you could start recording. No commitments. No credit card details.
Straight to the value. In less than five clicks.
But for PLG, you need more. You need loyal customers to spread the word.
How do you do that…

2. Building the best product focused on users’ needs 👷

Loom became customer-obsessed.
They completely dialled in on their users’ needs. Asking for user feedback, listening to it, and then building for it.
The team built and shipped features every day. But not just any features. They had to fill three criteria:

1. Fell within Loom’s mission ☄️
2. Users and the team would find relevant. 📚
3. Improved Loom’s product. 📈

This is what led to their rebrand to Loom.
The go-to solution to replace the difficulties of written communication.
Loom had started to reflect their customers’ voices in their product. They had built a product their customers actually wanted and needed.

Loom made sure to show their users how their feedback was being incorporated, they responded to every single email, message, and comment - recording personal Looms. The Founders took turns on support shifts and built relationships with early adopters.
Loom was relentless in understanding its users. Tracking every piece of data they could, importantly: why people used Loom, where they dropped off, and why they dropped off.
From this, the Loom team identified multiple features that we know as key parts of the product today, such as notifications when your video is watched, recording your entire desktop, and leaving the video flipped after you record (they figured out this made users more comfortable with how they looked on camera).
During Covid, Loom increased the features on their Free Tier, halved the price of their Pro Plan, extended the length of their free trial, and gave any educational users of Loom (teachers and students) FREE Loom Pro forever (and still do this today).
Through all of this and more, Loom’s users became ambassadors. They wanted to see Loom grow. They wanted to share what they knew.
Their users wanted to share Loom.

🎯 2. Repositioned to find PMF

When Loom first launched on Product Hunt as Openvid, they had already pivoted from a tool using a line of code to gather feedback via video into a Chrome extension to record yourself and your screen - and share it with just a link.
Loom was used to listening to what the market wanted and adapting.
But critically, they weren’t just building new products all the time. They were making tweaks to find better positioning in the market.
Going from Opentest to Openvid, all the team did was repurpose and reposition their built-out features.
Then, an interaction with a long-standing customer, Scott from Hubspot, would change the brand forever.
The team learned that video was an awesome solution to solving communication issues within teams - particularly for remote teams.
And so Loom was born - a rebranded Openvid. Again, a repositioning to get closer to PMF.
They were now the go-to solution to replace all the hassles of written communication. Even though it was still the same tool as it was previously.
Loom then had one last major transition.
They wanted to now attract the biggest companies in the world to use Loom for internal communication.
Their GTM (Go to Market) strategy here was simple. Launch an existing product in a new market - Enterprise teams.
They accompanied this change in positioning with new features such as the beta Loom for Teams and a centralized video library (think repeatable internal messaging like onboarding).
This launch was perfectly timed.
With all companies forced into remote working and needing better tools to communicate.
Their messaging became more focused:
Sometimes to find PMF, you don’t need to change your product. You just need to find the right audience for it.

🕵️ 3. Intentional about hiring and employee retention:

In around 4 years, Loom reached 100 employees.
But it wasn't linear growth. It was slow. And then all at once.
In 2020, went from around 45 employees to reaching the 100 Loommate mark. Hiring 30 employees alone between February and May.
The team at Loom lives and works in over 11 countries, including Portugal, Brazil, and Australia.
This is intentional. Loom wants to structure its team with the goal of being able to work with the most talented people.
Wherever they are.
And they want to build this world-class global organization without anyone feeling like they’re not part of the Headquarters.
They want Loom to reflect the modern world we’re in.
This includes working with organizations such as Techqueria and Women Who Code to create a more inclusive and comprehensive recruitment process.
The Founders were also very intentional about the roles and types of people they hired. Choosing to hire specific skill sets for their team.
This meant looking for the best video engineers instead of the best general software developers. As well as making very specific senior hires, who had experience with very specific skills, for example, Joshua Goldenberg as the VP of Design, who was the previous Head of Design at Slack and Palantir.
Another critical piece of Loom’s growth has been a focus on employee retention.
They were laser-focused on employee happiness and retention as they believed it would be a key lever for growth. So far, they’ve been right.
To do this, Loom focuses on a few things:

• Extremely competitive benefits package (particularly for their size and funding), including medical, dental, and vision insurance with 99% premiums paid by the company (including dependents!), monthly fitness and mental health benefits, and much more.
• Clear career growth opportunities, with 24 transfers and promotions in 2020 alone.

They want the best part of working at Loom to be the people.
With the Founders stating the order of the focus of their business as:

1. People 👯
2. Product ⚙️
3. Profit 💰

Actions you can take to replicate Loom’s success

Cherry-pick successes to mimic 🍒

One of Loom’s most successful features has been its “someone has viewed your video” notifications.
Sound familiar?
We’ve all experienced the exact same notifications with LinkedIn: “Sabrina and 8 others viewed your profile.”
And we’ve also all had the exact same reaction of wondering who viewed our profile to only find out we need to pay for LinkedIn Premium…
Loom took this feeling and put it into their product.
They created an anonymized notification to let you know someone had viewed your video.
I can only imagine the excitement (and nerves) if you use Loom for something like sales.
This feature spiked the usage of Loom. Creating a curiosity hit in their users - as well as them seeing it working!
This feature was key in scaling Loom in its early days. And helped create a customer base that was obsessed with using Loom. 🚀
So look around your daily and work life. What are some features or products that you love?
Why do you love them? Do they make you feel excited? Curious? Inspired?
Replicate that feeling with a similar feature. Just like Loom did.
But be careful, you need to make sure this feature fits with your product. You don’t want to force a feature that doesn’t fit or doesn’t help your users.
You also don’t want to start looking like everyone else. So as Author Austin Kleon titled his bestseller, you need to Steal Like an Artist.
Add your own spin to a successful feature. Make it fit your brand.
Cherry-picking features also works both ways.
When you look around your daily life: What are some features or products that you dislike or even hate?
Why do you hate them? Do they make you feel frustrated? Angry? Sad?
Avoid features that bring these emotions out.
Don’t only replicate successful features. Avoid unsuccessful ones.

Give your users instant value ⏰

Loom’s time to value is almost instantaneous.
With the first version of Loom, all you had to do was install the Chrome extension, review the settings, and then you could record.
Less than five clicks.
Users loved this.
Loom was quick to install, learn, and use.
But importantly for the Loom team, this also meant that Loom was quick to share.
Remember, you’re trying to make your product as frictionless as possible.
It’s hard to get someone to add a new tool to their life and their routine.
Don’t make it any harder for them.
Make it as easy as possible for your customers to use your product - like Loom did. They didn’t ask for any commitments. Straight to the value.
First impressions aren’t only important when meeting new people. They are also critical in building trust with your customers.
So use this time to wow them!
If they love their first interaction, you will win their trust.
From there you can earn their loyalty by listening to and building for their needs.

The wipe is happening and I'm starting to anticipate the 7th. Here's my hopeful but doubtful list of changes I would love to see happen, in no particular order.
#1: Randomized dungeon modules. I've discussed this before, but in my opinion, this is one of the biggest things that this game needs. Basically, what this entails is that each dungeon randomly generates a map. Making the map layouts completely different each raid and even going as far to randomly generate monsters and chests in each room, so that you don't know what is in store. This will promote exploration of the dungeons rather than spawn rushing immediately or rushing to points of interest. This would also promote removal of Swarm, to allow players the ability to really explore but that's a whole other topic and I'm indifferent about the Swarm mechanic.
#2: Rework of the Reward System. The reward system was overkill this wipe. I can easily say that I netted well over 150k gold from rewards, ranging from getting a named unique (Aegis) and a Unique Spear with BIS rolls that basically funded my entire wipe. I would like to see this change to rewards that are less impactful towards the overall economy of the game. Rewards should be Gold, Crafting Materials and Looted Quest Items. These would help progress you, but not break the marketplace.
#3: Removal of True Damage and + All Modifiers. We keep bouncing back and forth with these for some reason. Each time they buff these, they always get nerfed and are still very oppressive. True damage when stacked is just too strong. They could leave regular damage modifiers, but I think True needs to go. + All gear in its current state is probably fine but overshadows good gear that doesn't have it most of the time. I would be content if neck slot could be the only item to roll + All and it could roll between 1-2.
#4: Removal of GBMM. I don't think this system is necessarily bad, but it discourages use of mediocre gear. For example, if I have a Purple Dark Plate armor with Regular Interaction Speed, Magical Interaction Speed and De-buff Duration it costs me more gear score to use than say a Green or Blue with + All. Now if they can somehow implement a gear score system that takes into account rolls of items, I would be more receptive of a GBMM system but determining how strong a piece of gear is based off of rarity alone does not make for a good system.
#5: Account wide quest progression. This is fairly simple, I don't want to have to do the quests 8, soon to be 9 times.
I didn't include things like Druid and other updates they are working on. Probably a few other things that I could touch on, but these are the main ones I would like to see. Feel free to discuss these or any other changes that you would like to see happen for the new wipe.
