2024.05.12 12:11 waitresfromratatoing I rewatched Extraordinary you and have somehow tried finding the answers to the many plotholes present in it

I honestly loved ( still do ) this show ,when it first came out I was teenager all the handsome faces and the refreshing plot made me forget about the plotholes in it which I guess you can't sideline no matter how much you like it . The one thing I never understood was how haru could change things even after becoming more than a character less extra .
The next problem for me is that if the characters are acting according to their freewill changing scenes and whatnot , in a story that's still being written wouldn't it strike the writer that the stuff they wrote and drew just changed like that , how is the writer comprehending the changes that the characters made by themselves to the story are they like " oh meh whatever "
we all know that artists and animators alike use the same characters sketches and remodel them for a different story or movie like we've seen in disney the face model of different princesses and princes are almost similar to another,in this story too the writer using their old main characters as " extras" with the same concept ,however it seemed to me that haru was never intended to be in this world in the first place because all other old characters were assigned roles and personalities except haru ,which prolly gave him the power to change things ,cus he doesn't belong here at all hence he was able to fiddle with the story , haru belonged to the " trumpet creeper " world alone and not in the " secret " world but we would never how our man found his way here . The next thing that made me go " ooh hold up " were those green hollow ,circular portals that kept opening at that one corner of the library like what are those and why can we see the previous story from there
Another silly thing that I couldn't get was how the props would stay on air in the shadow but Ig it was some sort of a surprise element or sthg
I always was confused at how quickly haru was assigned a character but then I believe it's prolly bcus the writer may have been in a slump and mightve decided to reintroduce the old plot and characters in a new setting.but then again I believe that haru dies while saving dan oh in that pool as the squid fairy explains later on that when a character passes away in the shadow they are reborn as a different character and no memory now (I might be slow af with this and there are prolly a lot of ppl who mightve known it already so guys save me some grace ig I didn't concentrate the first time i watched it 😭🫶 )
AND WHAT IF
Extraordinary you is the comic book written by the writer in question like Every now and then I just couldn't stop but think of this one theory : that prolly the characters getting aware that theyre in a comic book is the original story of the writer I.e the characters becoming aware and navigating throught the hurdles of a universe set by someone else is the og plot of the writer the characters refer to

I’m stuck.. pc won’t boot and gives me pc didn’t start correctly.
So here’s scenario I was trying to put my old Win7 hard drive onto my current win10 pc and it wouldn’t detect. I somehow got my sata to load up the win7 and it worked I loaded up that hard drive.
I unplugged the win7 drive and restarted thinking all is good and will load win10 just fine. i’ve been going back it for like 2 hours now trying to get it to boot back to win10 or my current drive.
I’ve been loading on Windows Boot Manager but it gives me the “PC did not start correctly.” sigh…
I set the bios settings back to default and it didn’t change anything. I’m a total noob at pc stuff.

2024.05.12 12:03 _kazuma_desu Tips for Type-c PD Charging With 65 W Charger (Or Power Bank) for Full Day Use

Tips for Type-c PD Charging With 65 W Charger (Or Power Bank) for Full Day Use
I didn't see many posts on this topic so thought this may help. I had a 65 watt pd charger so I wanted to test if it would work for emergencies with the loq. It's a 120w charger with typec to type c cable that comes with iqoo neo 9 pro and it supports 65 watt pd charging. At first when i tried plugging it in the screen would constantly switch from 60 to 165hz because the laptop was exceeding the supplied charge and kept changing the profiles constantly. The following points will help:
  1. Change the power profile to quiet mode while the device is plugged in with lenovo charger. This is necessary so your device doesn't draw too much power when you first connect the 65 w charger. You could also turn off the adaptive refresh rate option to avoid the flickering but i haven't tried that.
  2. Change the mux setting to iGPU only mode BEFORE plugging in the charger.
  3. Make sure your charger and cable both support pd charging AT LEAST 65 watts or above. I can see that mine doesn't supply 65 w constantly so even with only 40-45w system power, the laptop starts thinking it's discharging and it keeps changing the profiles continuously. A good GaN charger that can constantly supply 65W will work much better and you can do more tasks like browsing and watching videos.
  4. 144 or 165hz doesn't make much of a difference compared to 60 so let it stay in the higher refresh rate for better experience.
  5. The battery charge even went up when plugged in from 63 to 69%. So you can easily use a 65 w POWER BANK and effectively use your gaming laptop the whole day in your college or office.
  6. This is with the i5 13450hx. i7 processors may draw more power so take that into account. Ryzen is efficient so it should be fine with similar settings i believe.
  7. Most ideal will be a 100w or even 140w pd charger which will allow you to do even demanding tasks. You could even game with 140w with the correct profile and settings.
So now i can take the same charger for both my phone and laptop and won't have to worry about running out of charge with light use. If needed i could also get a 65w power bank. There are very few 100w options in india but if you have any recommendations please let me know.
Note: when running on battery, the system only used 18-22w of power in idle. While in quiet mode it's 35+. I couldn't find a way to reduce the power usage, and I didn't feel the need to.

2024.05.12 11:56 infinitemind000 Intro

Someone reading this book may wonder what sort of audience is being targeted here. They may also be confused as to what the endgame is behind such a book. The aim of this book is to parallel the different religious & mystic traditions & connect them to the tropes that we find near death experiences propagate. They often are reconnecting us with what ancient texts have said but in the modern secular world where materialism is the norm we have become numb to the meanings & impact behind such text. These texts are often considered archaic & primitive. Unable to contribute much to the modern world they may only be useful in prayer chants.
Thus I aim here to revitalise the spirit of these traditions and connect them to what many call the modern day scriptures. The study of near death experiences, neuroscience, consciousness & other paranormal phenomena.
The endgame of the mystic is to connect, achieve union, knowledge and self growth. Thus by approaching all these texts and the various evolving thought that emerged from it, we can explore the parallels and connections that bridge the gap between traditions. The beauty of mysticism and perennial philosophy is the freedom it offers in interpretation.
This book doesn't focus on the question of whether scriptures are divinely inspired, man made tools written for sociological and political agendas or some sort of corrupted divinity. That discussion is a debate that will never end. Rather the focus here is on the possible wisdom & theological beliefs which parallel and mesh together well in forming a higher meaning & connection to the divine. Whether it be a higher power, an all pervading source or a metaphysical truth. You aren’t required to literally believe the divinity of these texts. A simple level of curiosity & intrigue is sufficient.
However one may contend that it is easy to parallel traditions when they are in harmony but when they differ they directly contradict rendering these connections meaningless and superficial. Therein lies the limitations of this book. Therefore the following concepts won’t be discussed in here. These are mainly :
The primary focus is in following a don't throw the baby out with the bathwater approach. Some may also contend that this book follows a shopping cart style of cherrypicking from texts and discarding beliefs from texts one subjectively finds inappropriate. To this I would simply say that the approach here is one of finding the parallels that align well together and acknowledging when a belief doesn't align well. Not necessarily a pick and choose system. An approach I would call the rational mystic.
The rational mystic is one who is simply open to what may be beyond their senses. They may be mystically inclined, fascinated and open to the plethora of supernatural ideas. However they will not blindly believe any and all beliefs. They will discern using rational faculties what of mysticism is most compatible with reality, what the data or evidence shows & what is more probable than not. I believe people of all beliefs or no beliefs can fit this definition. Whether you identify by a religion, as spiritual but not religious, non religious, atheist, deist or agnostic. Thus a skeptic or believer may able to gain an appreciation for these belief systems.
This book dives into the verses and parallels of ancient texts such as the Old Testament, New Testament, Quran, Hadith, Bhagwad Gita, Dhammapada, Tao Te Ching & Gathas of Zoroaster. Other older parallels such as from Vedic India, Ancient Egypt, Greece & Mesopotamia may be referenced.
Alongside that are the testimonies of NDEs and how they may parallel or differ to these texts. This book also attempts to provide commentary on major philosophical themes & elaborate on various exegesis, mystical traditions such as Kaballah, Sufism, Advaita Vedanta, Neoplatonism & Chinese thought. Since mysticism is ultimately about experience it relevant and useful to enhance these discussions by contrasts to various scientific ideas, philosophy & pop culture.
NDE Filter Methodology
One of the problems with ndes is the fact that they are subjective experiences which we cannot objectively verify or replicate. This makes them a weaker form of evidence compared to empirical studies which can replicate the results. These present a challenge. An individual nde may therefore be subject to embellishment, fabrications & delusions. Therefore in picking our choice of NDEs here we can only look at ndes as a whole in terms of statistical patterns that form. This is the methodology used in NDE literature by various academics including neuroscientists & philosophers researching the phenomenon.
To elaborate we therefore will discard testimonies that appear embellished with fantastical details. These fantastical details may also be subjective from person to person. Calling an otherworldly journey fantastical is simply irony. However in following the certain patterns that appear cross culturally in ndes it is much easier to identify reports that are considered fantastical. The following tropes appear the most across multiple nde studies.
There are of course other concepts that ndes reference which appear from time to time. These allow ndes to be flexible and not rigid experiences. After all no two nde experiences are the same. However using these motifs listed we can filter through unreliable ndes. These include
Finally one may say that the chapters of this book attempt to hint at the veracity of a religion & this book is a subtle attempt to proselytize that faith. I will reiterate that this book isnt trying to prove any specific religion. There may be subtle signs from one faith that fit better with the nde phenomenon than others. The following theories I would say explain these subtle signs. I leave it up to the reader to decide what they feel is the best explanation.
Spirituality & mysticism can be thought of as two sides of the same coin with philosophy the ring that runs the circumference of the coin. While spirituality deals with the human aspects such as soul, spirit, ego, morality & purpose, mysticism deals with the divine aspects of things such as essences, attributes, metaphors, realities, realms, entities, space, time, substances etc. We aim to dive into the following themes in this book.
The Divine Source : Everything relevant to defining the higher power & source of existence including essences & attributes.
Consciousness & Spirit : Everything relevant to the nature of consciousness, qualia, perceptions, the spirit & soul.
Reality : Everything relevant to the nature of perception, illusion, concepts, space, time, substances, modes, forms & realities.
Spirituality & Purpose : Everything relevant to the nature of human meaning, objectives, purpose & suffering.
Morality : Everything relevant to values, ideals, ethics & morals.
Knowledge & Truth : Everything relevant to the nature of seeking truth, seeking knowledge & attaining wisdom. These include concepts such as beliefs, truths, axioms, speculations, nature of inspirations & revelations.
Awakening & Dark night of Soul : Everything relevant to the nature of materialism, spiritual awakening, seeking inner peace, anxieties, depression, remorse, angst & layers of the psyche.
Divine Sorrow : Everything relevant to the nature of the eschatological souls corruption, redemption, purification, punishment, divine justice & mercy including modes & forms.
Divine Bliss : Everything relevant to the nature of the souls destiny, ultimate peace, happiness, bliss & divine love including modes & forms.

2024.05.12 11:55 Puzzleheaded-Ask-931 Opinions and observations on Windows and PUBG optimisation

DISCLAIMER- This is a list of some of commonly discussed optimisations for windows, PUBG and games in general, from the most basic, to advanced. They are aimed at systems used exclusively for gaming. I am not endorsing any of these changes, however, I have applied most of them myself and seen significant uplifts in performance.
This is intended as a discussion point, not a guide.
Always do your own research before assuming something is 'best'. This will not 'fix' PUBG, as there are deeper issues than what is listed here, but there may be improvements from some of these settings.
Make changes at your own risk and take everything you read on the internet with a pinch of salt!
-System restore point is your friend. If something messes up you can easily revert back to a known good point.
-Optimising your BIOS. XMP is especially important. Disable as much power saving (C-States etc) as possible for maximum performance. No not disable HPET if you have the option available.
-Overclocking/Undervolting is helpful if you achieve stable clocks.
-Performing a clean install of windows is always a decent idea. Windows 10 is possibly better than 11. Debloat/optimisation utilities like ChrisTitusTech are helpful for reducing system usage and easily applying optimisations. The majority of system optimisation can be done this way. Avoid youtuber optimisation scripts. You don't know what's being changed.
-Installing up to date drivers is important. Consult the motherboard vendors support page for chipset/LAN/audio drivers. For AMD chipset drivers, download from the official AMD website.
Install as admin to ensure smooth installation. There is a lot of discussion around 'best' graphics driver versions, i just use the most recent ones.
The results from using NVcleanstall to debloat drivers is inconclusive, but i do it anyway. Its personal preference as to how much to include/exclude in the installation. I do not like using GeForce experience. Use DDU when updating GPU drivers.
-Latest device firmware, some NVMe drives might have issues on old firmware.
-Custom power plans are helpful, mainly in minimising latency.
-Disabling all unused devices in device manager. System speakeUMBus Root Bus EnumeratoNDIS Virtual Network Adapter EnumeratoMicrosoft Virtual Drive EnumeratoComposite Bus EnumeratoMicrosoft GS Wavetable Synth/Microsoft RRAS Root Enumerator are the ones i see talked about, and disabled devices can easily be re-enabled if it turns out you need them. This may help with AntiCheat polling of devices.
-Disabling unnecessary windows services. Can further reduce system usage.
-Disable power saving for USB devices. Disable unused USB and PCIe devices. Ensure latency sensitive devices (mouse/keyboard) are connected to the CPU USB ports, not chipset ports.
-Configuring network adapter can reduce latency/improve packet transmission. Depending how good your adapter is (intel good, realtek not so good) influences what settings to change.
Generally speaking, disable all power saving features. Games use such little bandwidth that other settings may only produce negligible results. TCPoptimiser is a tool you can use to optimise network settings.
-Ethernet is vastly better than WiFi
-Check for network buffer bloat. If significant bloat is found, using router QOS and capping download and upload speeds 5-10% below maximum can resolve this.
-Do not disable Defender or Firewall. Create exceptions for games (TslGame.exe) in control flow guard. You can disable Realtime monitoring with a registry edit. Use task scheduler to set defender to run tasks only when the computer is idle. Exclusion of game files from Defender tasks is also an option.
-Disabling HAGS if you have less than 8gb of VRAM. If you have more, try it on and off to see whats best, but generally it appears best to disable.
-Game mode works well on my system, but again, test on and off to see what works best.
-Removing Game Bar, this can be done with the debloat/optimise scrips, or manually with a script within windows terminal. Disabling GameBarPrescenceWriter within windows registry is recommended.
-Registry edits, there are many, but the most common are below. Do your own research before editing the registry.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
networkthrottelingindex = fffffff (hexa)
systemresponsiveness = 0 (hexa)
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games
GPU Priority = 8 (hexa)
Priority = 6 (hexa)
Scheduling = High
SFIO = High
-HPET. On is normally best. Windows does not use HPET as the default timer. TSC is the default timer which is in the CPU. TSC is synthetic, and can stall for a few nanoseconds. This is where HPET comes in.
The system will use HPET to resynchronise TSC. If HPET is disabled then global desynchronization will happen over time. The stutters associated with HPET are usually to do with DPC latency, and whilst disabling HPET can mask the stutters, it isn't fixing the underlying problem. Custom timer resolution no longer works properly in windows, so leave it alone. You can disable dynamic tick with a BCDedit as this is generally a power saving feature.
-LatencyMon can detect high latencies in the system which can be responsible for stutter. Most appear to be due to power saving settings. PowerSettingsExplorer is a utility to unlock power plan options. The most important is processoridlepromote/demotethresholds.
Untick these and set them to 100% in power plan. You should see significant latency reductions. ntoskrnl.exe is bugged and may still give high readings due to processing time. There are also registry edits available to reduce DPC latencies.
-ISLC is now redundant. The standby list bug was fixed long ago and timer resolution no longer works as it should due to changes within windows. It may now only hurt performance as it polls your system.
-Win32priorityseparation. Decides how your processor is utilised for tasks. Appears to make a measurable difference to applications.
-Use MSI mode (message signalled interrupts) for all devices that support it. Nvidia 30 series and later have this enabled by default.
-Enhance pointer precision off, most games use raw mouse input, but still best to disable. High polling rate mice may cause issues with weaker CPUs.
-Disabling all overlays. Steam/discord/geforce experience/RTSS/shadowplay or any capture software.
-Disabling hardware acceleration in steam, discord, or any other app or browser you use.
-Disabling fullscreen optimisation for TslGame.exe
-Deleting the GameConfigStore registry subkey for TslGame.exe
-Steam launch options (other than -KoreanRating) may no longer work.
-Disabling SteamClientWebhelper may no longer be viable due to Steam changing how it works.
-Optimising NVCP or AMD graphics utilities. Lots of discussion around this. For maximum performance on nvidia, refer to TGLTNs guide on YouTube. Threaded Optimisation depends on system, for weaker CPUs, off could be better. Auto can be best for modern systems.
Gsync/Vsync/Freesync works if you cannot reach your monitors maximum refresh rate. You can Force Off sync policies in Nvidia Profile Inspector for reduced input latency.
-DX11E is usually best in game, but mileage vaires per system. Some systems see performance increases by running higher graphics settings in game, possible by shifting load from the CPU to GPU.
-Deleting the additional TslGame process in task manager gives me little to no benefit.
-CapFrameX is a great benchmarking application to verify performance changes through applying optimisations.
I may have missed some things here, or some may not be relevant to PUBG. Thoughts or additions on the above?

Is my progress average or not?
Dear fellow magisters, I have a question: I usually use Reddit to assess the “quality” of my progress in a gatcha game (and it is often below average :D), but I struggle a bit to apply that to AFK Journey, maybe because the game is young, or maybe I didn’t find the post that could have helped me (no real indicator on prydwenn.gg either as far as I can see). I reached level 1125 in the AFK progress with a hand level of 210 plus two characters being 220, is it roughly the average level we have when we reach this milestone? I am f2p if it can help.

The only playable heroes from this dead faction are literally black prior, lawbringer and pk, the rest are extremely weak and I don't understand how they even get played...
Warden doesnt even have dodge attacks, only thing he does is light spam into sb or zone
Conq : do i even need to say anything? weakest hero in the game
centurion: was decent before now sucks balls
bastion: same repetitive moveset spam, light into attack mode 2 more lights into stance then ub light, nothing else going for him
gladiator: weakest assassin in game, only viable thing is light 4 times prey they cant light parry
warmonger: see warden
gryphon: was balanced before then gutted into oblivion now can just light spam and occassionally kick into heavy

2024.05.12 10:57 TanjiroKamado7270 Can one use squared inverse of KL divergence as another divergence metric? [D]

I came across this doubt (might be dumb), but it would be great if someone can throw some light on this:
The KL Divergence between two distributions p and q is defined as : $D_{KL}(p q) = E_{p}[\log \frac{p}{q}]$
depending on the order of p and q, the divergence is mode seeking or mode covering.
However, can one use $\frac{-1}{D_{KL}(p q)}$ as a divergence metric?
Or maybe not a divergence metric (strictly speaking), but something to measure similarity/dissimilarity between the two distributions?
Edit:
it is definitely not a divergence as -1/KL(p,q) <= 0 also as pointed in the discussion, 1/KL(p,p) = +oo.
However, I am thinking it from this point: if KL(p,q) is decreasing => 1/KL(p,q) is increasing => -1/KL(p,q) is decreasing. Although, -1/KL(p,q) is unbounded from below hence can reach -oo. Question is, does the above equivalence, make -1/KL(p,q) useful as a metric for any application. Or is it considered somewhere in any literature.

2024.05.12 10:36 FrancescoMuja COMPLETE Story Challenge for BT3

Hello everyone!
Since I am eagerly awaiting Sparking Zero (as I imagine most of you guys are, too), I thought of dusting off what I consider the best fighting game in the franchise, namely Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
After all these years, the game has aged wonderfully and is still a lot of fun, but I always found the story mode lacking.
So I decided to create a list of all the important battles in the story, to reenact them in-game, in chronological order.
And… I got carried away, and thus this Excel sheet was born, which is essentially a guide to stage the ENTIRE story of Dragon Ball, from the classic adventures to the end of the Dragon Super manga.
(A note: Regarding Super, I mixed in some parts of the anime story with those of the manga. I mean, come on, how could I not include, for example, the battle between the Gods of Destruction during the Zen Exhibition Match, and especially the part where they all gang up on Beerus?)
So I decided to share it with you. Here it is.
The battles are divided by story arcs, and each of them includes some information such as the opponent, the character you need to use, the location, adviced difficulty setting (which should kinda mirror power levels) and the conditions to win and move on to the next battle. Since there are no cutscenes, I also added a brief summary of the story to refresh your memory on what's happening.
Mostly, the battles will be duels against the CPU, occasionally team battles, and I also specified the battles that are already covered by the existing story mode in the game.
Regarding the battles that, according to the story, you should lose, I recommend using the "very hard" difficulty. However, if you don't like the idea of playing battles that you already know you'll lose, or you simply want more variety (or you're skilled enough to win even on the highest difficulty), in those cases you could reverse the roles and play as the villain instead. The game's story mode already does this in some cases, after all.
Requirements:
And that is all. Hope you’ll like this! Have fun!

Hello everyone, I'm new to "Blender" and I was playing with textures. I found a post about the glass method but I would like to be able to make it more transparent to see the cube that is inside.

2024.05.12 09:57 iinukami Pace 3 Positive Elevation recording question ?

I notice a big difference between the positive elevation recorded by my Pace 3 watch during a bike ride and those i have when preparing my track with different software. How to explain this? I have to calibrate something, the GPS didn't pick up well, how is the positive elevation calculated by the watch? The GPS mode i use is the most powerful, the dual frequency mode.
For example with my last bike ride :
1511m positive elevation on the watch after the bike ride
1547m positive elevation on Strava (in route planning mode)
1699m positive elevation on RidewithGPS (in route planning mode)
1790m positive elevation on Komoot (in route planning mode)
1704 m positive elevation on Brouter.de (in route planning mode)
1976m positive elevation on Coros app (by loading the RidewithGPS track)
2004 positive elevation by creating the trace on Coros app (in route planning mode)
