It has been a week of grave disappointment for Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada.
Immediately following the May long weekend, Statistics Canada reported inflation had dropped to 2.7 per cent in April, down from the 2.9 per cent in March. More importantly, it was the fourth month in a row that inflation remained within the Bank of Canada’s target band of one to three per cent.
Most market watchers expect the Bank of Canada to cut interest rates this year. Some predict a reduction could come as early as next month if inflation remains within the target band. For anyone carrying debt or looking to re-finance a mortgage, that is hugely positive news.
THE CANADIAN PRESS FILE/Spencer Colby Notwithstanding Poilievre’s reckless hyperbole, the Conservative attack campaign has been very effective.
Unfortunately, what’s good for consumers may not be good for Conservatives.
For the better part of two years, party leader Pierre Poilievre has hammered Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government for failing to ease “the affordability crisis.”
Every day, journalists are bombarded with emails that offer more evidence of just how much worse off Canada has become thanks to Trudeau.
“After nine years of Justin Trudeau, Canadians are seeing one of the steepest and longest falls of living standards in the history of the country,” thundered a May 16 news release from Conservative party communications.
A month earlier, more of the same. “After nine years of Justin Trudeau, Canada is experiencing a massive housing shortage that has made life unaffordable. Rent has doubled, mortgage payments have doubled, and so have down payments. Canadian cities are now among the least affordable on Earth.”
It should be noted that both of those examples — indeed most of the Conservative attack emails — feature deeply flawed logic and questionable facts.
The Conservatives claimed gross domestic product per capita is “the best way to measure how living standards are changing.” That is simply not true; GDP is a measurement of economic output, but it’s not comprehensive and not a good a measure of living standards.
As well, Canadian cities are not among the least affordable on the planet.
Mercer, a human resources and financial services consultancy that produces among the most viable measurements of the cost of living in major cities, does not consider Canada a very expensive place to live in global terms.
Echoing the findings of a dozen other rankings of the world’s cities, Mercer found that Hong Kong, Singapore and Zurich are the most expensive urban centres in which to live; Toronto was 90th on Mercer’s 2023 ranking, and Vancouver was 116th.
Notwithstanding Poilievre’s reckless hyperbole, the Conservative attack campaign has been very effective.
Opinion polls released at the start of 2024 showed that a significant majority of Canadians, and even a larger majority of younger Canadians, feel the Trudeau government has failed to address the affordability crisis. The big question for the Tories is whether the strategy of blaming Trudeau for the affordability crunch can be sustained once inflation, interest rates and consumer prices begin to drop.
Concern over affordability is not the only reason why someone might crave the opportunity to vote against the Liberals and their besieged leader. Trudeau has done more than enough to earn the disdain of voters, a reality borne out by the 20-point lead the Conservatives have over the Liberals in most opinion polls. But Poilievre’s shrill attacks over affordability are the foundation for his allegation the Liberals have broken the country and abandoned its citizens.
If interest rates begin to come down, and the millions of Canadians who were living in fear of renewing their mortgages suddenly find some breathing room, the political tables may start to turn — for some, but not for everyone.
Some of the more fervent Liberal haters are too deep into the Conservative affordability rabbit hole to escape the Conservatives’ deeply flawed, but clearly effective, attacks. Contrary to the basic laws of economics, they believe Trudeau is responsible for increasing the cost of housing and consumer packaged goods.
He isn’t, really, but that point was lost a long time ago.
Having said that, there was always going to come a time when the Conservative line of attack would wear thin.
Opposition parties that ride high in the polls should expect the race to tighten as everyone approaches election day, particularly as the Conservatives begin to put forward policies of their own.
Poilievre has been long on criticism but very short on his own ideas. The lack of detail about how he would address the problems he claims the Trudeau government has created is is testing the patience of some.
For example, Alberta oil companies recently challenged Poilievre to explain how his plan to axe the consumer carbon tax will affect the taxation of industrial carbon emissions. The Conservative leader has not offered many details on how he would lower overall carbon emissions without some form of carbon pricing.
As soon as he does enunciate a plan, you can bet his support will decline. That’s what typically happens when you begin to take a stand on pressing issues.
The improving economy, along with Poilievre beginning to stake out his own positions, won’t translate into electoral salvation for Trudeau’s Liberals.
It just means the race to form the next government of Canada isn’t quite over.

I have 3 specific questions regarding residence card renewal and would be very grateful for any advice. I have no lucrativa status and this is my first renewal (my current 1 year card expires in June).
  1. Should I have private insurance valid for full 1 year at the moment of applying for the renewal? My current insurance is valid until November. I wonder if I need to buy another year.
  2. As I know, among other documents I should submit a copy of my padrón. Some online resources claim that it should be no older than 3 months. I got mine last year and it's valid for 2 years. Do I have to get a new one?
  3. A letter from my bank in home country will be in English. Should I get it translated into Spanish?

Help finding resource, how to go about.
I want to modify this trim panel to light up with some Leds. Im extremely handy w many DIY projects but this has me stuck at step one. Its a plastic chrome trim that sits above, and covers my license plate lights. I have power, and no concerns running wires. My issue is modification of the trim, and individual led lights as im used to led products ready to go. If incouod match the letters with an overlay it would be easy to drill small holes for the wires. If I cut out the letters in the trim to put a Led strip (want blue) behind, it won't look good. For example my A's would look like they didn't have the cross bar in the letter. I can solder leds, but may have some questions. How best to go about modification of this trim to make it look top shelf.

Pretty much the title.
I’ve been renting a 2 bedroom apartment for a number of years now, it’s an ancient building with varying issues. But the area is great and the neighbours are lovely.
I’d really love a new cooker and my kitchen painted. The stove/oven thing is a million years old and the paint in the kitchen has been peeling for years due to old water damage in the ceiling, and the Property Manager just keeps ignoring it when I bring it up or mention it prior to the routine inspections. I’d also appreciate the common areas to be repainted (note: there is one owner for the whole block of 8 rental units with the one PM).
So, I get a notice for yet another rent increase, it’s annoying and made me mad, but doable and I really do love living here.
They’ve given me the regular BS of it being worth so-and-so measured against similar properties and the financial market yada yada, but if I renew the lease it’ll be less than the extortionate cost they came up with.
I quick search actually shows a number of near identical properties in my area going for what I’m currently paying.
Anyhoo, do I bring up all the issues of my kitchen and the common areas, prior to actually accepting the increase and lease, or after?

With hurricane season approaching, I think it is a good time to remind everyone who has Citizens Insurance that if a big hurricane hits then you may have an additional bill, even if you are not impacted by the hurricane. It is buried in your policy, but Citizens has a "hurricane tax" which could be enacted to automatically increase your premium by 15-45%.
I found this out a while ago and I do not think it has ever been used, but if you have Citizens insurance you may want to set aside an additional 15% of your yearly to make the payment if they send you the collections letter this hurricane season. Presumably, if you do not pay you could lose your insurance for non-payment, which would be catastrophic for many.

I am relatively new to this sub and have mostly been a silent spectator. With how cultures have mixed in our country, I see a lot of non-localites supporting teams in IPL. For example, a fellow Bengali friend supports CSK, another supports SRH. Similarly, a Malayali colleague supports KKR, to an Australian client asking about IPL and KKR having known I am from the city.
This amazes me somewhat. We see iconic global sports teams having fandom from all across the world, and while IPL has definitely promoted the tournament globally, wanted to know what is the demography split of the people in this sub. Feel free to drop in your comments on where you are from and why do you support KKR.

I've been a dedicated Knicks fan since 2017, transitioning from a lifelong football (soccer) enthusiast. The recent success has been exhilarating, but it’s also left me questioning my place within the fanbase. Despite my deep investment, there’s a lingering feeling that I don’t quite belong.
A bit about me: I’m a 30-year-old Londoner who has always loved New York. I’ve visited around 8/9 times, and love NY and New Yorkers. As a huge sports fan, my love isn’t limited to basketball - I also like the Yankees but I am all in on Basketball now. Football has lost its appeal to me the older I've got, maybe it's because I can't play anymore due to injuries but anyway, I am fully in on the NBA/Knicks.
My commitment to the Knicks isn’t shallow. I’ve immersed myself in the team's history, from the iconic 90s era under Pat Riley to devouring countless games on YouTube. I regularly tune into Knicks podcasts, follow multiple fan pages, and stay updated through articles and social media. Trips to the MSG I hope show my dedication, having flown over to catch games in person, spending significant amounts on travel and tickets—even attending the intense game 1 of the Cleveland series last year.
Time zone differences make live games a challenge, yet I watch well I'd say 60+ regular season games live, staying up into the early hours of the morning. The playoffs are non-negotiable; I’m all in, regardless of the sleep sacrifice required. I am a Tech Director so have to be up early.. but that doesn't matter when playoffs are on.
An amusing, slightly tense, moment last year in Memphis during a trip through the south, highlights my passion: confronted by a local’s disdain for the Knicks, as I had on my trusty, washed-out Knicks cap from my first visit to the MSG which is worn around everything in the UK and USA when appropriate, there was a comment made by a guy about my Knicks hat that, let's just say, wasn't overly nice as to which I responded in an equal manner and passed ways - even finding myself defending the Knicks in unfamiliar territory!
I’ve also invested heavily in Knicks memorabilia, from jerseys signed by Brunson and D-Rose to costly special editions shipped to the UK. (I paid way too much for that Slam cover Brunson & Rose did last year)
Yet, despite these efforts, I occasionally feel like an imposter, not a “proper” Knicks fan, perhaps because I’m not a New Yorker, mingling daily with other fans. This doubt seems to stem from the team's recent success—am I perceived as just another bandwagon fan? I assure you, my commitment was solidified long before the victories, watching games at 2 AM with Elfrid Payton starting at Guard is just a small example.
Maybe I am influenced by cultural attitudes here in England. Here, global fans of football giants like Manchester United or Liverpool are often viewed sceptically if they don't attend games regularly. Although I've been able to attend several Knicks games, this underlying bias might be shaping my own perception of what it means to be a "true" fan.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Does geographical distance diminish my fandom? Can a Londoner ever truly be a Knicks fan?

Hello,
First thank you all for this sub, I went thought a lot of very interesting posts since I've discovered it, and I am still at the begining of my self-hosted journey.
I'm currently hosting a few services on a mini PC (like immich and paperless) with a static local ip 192.168.xx.yy. However, accessing those services with ip:port is not ideal (especially when the number of services grow and you want to share the services with other family members).
Therefore, I would like to use a domain I own at ovh (example.ovh), and use a subdomain for everything related to my network (home.example.ovh), so that I can access the everything with (immich.home.example.ovh or paperless.home.example.ovh). Ideally, I would like to have those services using HTTPS (needed for Authentik I believe if I want to set that up later).
Note that I do not want to open my server to the internet for now as I do not completely trust myself for the security needed for that. I currently use the services with wireguard and it's perfect.
So is it possible to have a A record in OVH that point at a local IP? Like
home IN A 192.168.xx.yy 
I'm trying this currently, and it does not seem to work...
Caddy seems the most appropriate reverse proxy for beginners, so I went with it. As I would like to avoid to open ports, I choose the DNS challenge approach to issue the certificate as it shouldn't require opening anything. So I compiled caddy with the OVH plugin, get my credentials from OVH, and I setup my Caddyfile like this:

I might be missing something obvious, but I'm still very beginning with all that networking/proxying stuff, and I would be very thankful if you could give me some insights on how to get this to work. I might need to setup a DNS server but I'm not sure. I would like to avoid that as I think that in case of failure of the server the whole internet goes down right? And I would like to avoid having to manage an additional backup DNS server.

Which dog breeds have the same or similar temperament like beagle - regarding their cheerful disposition and friendly (to everyone - especially cats they grew up with) affectionate, playful and always optimistic nature? Are Welsh springer spaniels/brittanys/vizslas/irish setters/any other breed (less known) not listed.
1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs? No, I’ve had dogajanje of different breeds before (in childhood and adulthood) and different training difficulty so you could say I have some experience dealing with obedient and stubborn breeds alike.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder? I would prefer a reputable breeder, although not opposed to owning a rescue.
3) Describe your ideal dog. My Ideal dog is happy go lucky, optimistic, super affectionate, gets along with animals he/she grew up with e. g. cats is either friendly or aloof with other dogs, but never agressive, can be friendly or aloof but MUST be non agressive to people and is very unlikely to bite or nip, is not neurotic or easily spooked, does not drool, is not a barker unless greeting happily - that does not mean that the dog must be quiet on the contrary it does not bother me at all that the dog would be very volcal (I’m used to beagle’s vocalisations, but he is not a barker at all, only vocalises when happy on the hunt or someone rings the doorbell), a relatively healthy breed that is known to live quite long when cared for corectly, is not destructive when left alone, is energetic and playful, but has an off switch, can be eager to please and not stubborn (too much), etc.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why? I would prefer short haired breeds that do not shed much otherwise no preference so I wouldn’t exclude non shedders or moderate shedders as long as there is not fur everywhere I would look and it would not take me an excessive amount of time to clean it every day, not a barker although other vocalizations don’t bother me, and breeds that do not slobber.

Hey, I don't know how long this post gonna be so .... I am sorry
My mother tongue and my primary language is Nepali. Ik Hindi as my second language and English as my third language. I am in the process of learning my fourth language, so I'm really excited about that.
While English has a system of using she pronoun for woman\girl, he for man\boy and they for gender neutral, things get tricky for my other languages that I speak.
This problem(let's not call a problem but it is kinda hard to talk about gender neutral or people outside the binary in these languages) is in Nepali, Hindi and Urdu (i think..) I will try to explain the structure of only Nepali here, but hindi works in the same way too. I am more comfortable in Nepali that's all.
In Nepali, all pronouns are gender neutral. So how do we tell gender? through verbs
let's take an example:
Masculine version
English: He is stupid.
Nepali: ऊ मूर्ख छ।
Feminine version
English : She is stupid.
Nepali: ऊ मूर्ख छे।
But there is no gender neutral version of this in Nepali. Here, also the case... this is not the only way to write this. While like English, Nepali does have 1st 2nd and 3rd person pronoun. It also has 'Respect'. It is "Aadar" and it literally translates to respect.
In English, you can never tell if you are talking about somebody who is younger then you, your own age or somebody who is elder. Every time you are talking, in Nepali makes it very clear. Let's take that above sentence and again translate it.
Masc:
somebody who is younger: ऊ मूर्ख छ ।
somebody your own age: उनी मूर्ख छन्।
somebody elder then your age: उहाँ मूर्ख हुनुहुन्छ।
Fem:
somebody who is younger: ऊ मूर्ख छे।
somebody your own age: उनी मूर्ख छिन्।
somebody elder then your age: उहाँ मूर्ख हुनुहुन्छ।
Note: While I have translated them into how textbook grammar would, in real life this 'Aadar' are used a little differently.
Also also, there is one more thing we need to cover...
You may have realize that the only time we explicitly say someone gender is in 3rd person pronoun. Other times it is gender neutral. In Nepali, gender is mention even in 2nd person pronoun. So, You are stupid can be translated to:
Masc:
somebody who is younger: तँ मुर्ख छस्।
somebody your own age: तिमि मुर्ख छौ ।
somebody elder then your age: तपाईं मुर्ख हुनुहुन्छ।
Fem:
somebody who is younger: तँ मुर्ख छेस्।
somebody your own age: तिमि मुर्ख छौ।
somebody elder then your age: तपाईं मुर्ख हुनुहुन्छ।
The solution:
You may have notice above how the in 'somebody your own age' has the same translation. But, if we check in 3rd person pronoun then masc and fem are different. The only translation that is consistent in both 2nd and 3rd is the someone more elder then you. So for non-binary people I tend to use 'uucha aadar', it remains gender neutral and it just so happens to use for someone you respect.
There are so many other languages, and so many other way to convey gender and how it is use in a language. Do you run into similar problems in any language you may speak and how do you solve it?

2024.05.23 14:04 fragbad Tenant being asked to remove furniture to accommodate ceiling repairs under owner's insurance

I moved into a rental property on a 12 month lease in January (NSW). In February, I was asked to facilitate access for a plasterer to patch a section of water damaged ceiling in the lounge room. He came to do the repairs, but felt the damage was much worse than expected and that the whole lounge room ceiling needed to be replaced. This would have to go back to insurance for approval. It would also mean all my lounge room furniture needed to be moved either into other rooms or into a storage unit.
Fast forward a few months - insurance has approved the ceiling repairs but not furniture removal or alternative accommodation for the tenant (me). The agent and strata have both asked me to move the furniture out of the lounge room and let them know when this is done, so that the works can be scheduled. They have both claimed the works will take two days. I am also in contact with the builder doing the job - he has told me it will take 5-7 days, and that insurance would usually cover alternative accommodation for the tenant in this scenario.
The issue is, the rental is a small one bedroom apartment. There is a kitchen approx 2m x 1m. It connects to the lounge room by an open arch way. There is a small narrow hallway past the bedroom into an office, which probably has one square meter free floor space. Then there is a bedroom with approx 2m x 2m free floor space directly in front of the door as you enter the room (weird shape, wasted space honestly), however filling this space with furniture will block access to the bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and ensuite bathroom. The lounge room is the largest room in the apartment by far, and has most of my belongings.
In the lounge room I have - a queen sofa bed, armchair, coffee table, tv stand, tv, two bookshelves filled with books, a round dining table and four chairs, a large arch mirror against one wall, a rug, and lots of pot plants, framed art, lamps etc on surfaces. It is quite a lot to move anyway, as a single female living here alone. But if it is moved into the other rooms, the unit is uninhabitable. The sofa bed wont fit through any internal doorways, except through the open archway to stand on end in the kitchen, and will take up the whole kitchen making it unusable.
I have communicated all of this to the agent, strata and the builder. The builder is really nice, thinks I should be given alternative accommodation but his hands are tied, and he obviously just wants to get on and get the job done. The agent and strata so far - it has been like talking to a brick wall. I tell them I can't move the furniture without rendering the rental property uninhabitable. They say its only two days and ask me to move the furniture and let them know when its done. I explain I can't, remind them its 5-7 days per the builder, and ask if they have any other solution. And then repeat. Strata and the agent are leaving me angrier and angrier emails and voicemail messages, asking that I please move the furniture and facilitate access for the repairs to be done.
I don't know what to do. Im scared that Im being portrayed as a difficult tenant and that the owner will break the lease, or not renew the lease and I can't afford to move, even without the stress of finding another rental in the current rental market. But I don't have anywhere to put the furniture. I can't afford to stay somewhere else for a week while the works are done, and definitely not if i'm also paying rent for a place I can't live in that week. I work full-time and need access to the bedroom and bathroom and kitchen (I can't really imagine anyone who doesn't, whether you work full-time or not).
I'm going to send an email to strata, the agent and the builder tomorrow with photos so that the conversations are combined and in writing. But I'm not sure what else I can do as the tenant in this situation. I'd also really like the works to be over and done with because I'm finding the situation very stressful, but I can't move all my furniture myself and don't have anywhere to put it, or anywhere else to live if I move it all into the bedroom and kitchen.
The works are also for a water damaged ceiling that I guess the owner or strata want repaired. There is no ongoing leak and it's not bothering me at all - it's not something that I want/or need repaired. So I am being asked to move all my furniture myself and make my rental property basically uninhabitable and available to tradies for a week, to facilitate repairs for the owner.
What should I do? Sorry for the very long read. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi another post about tenancy agreements. We put an offer for a property and landlord accepted it. We’ve passed referencing too, but estate agent just called and told us that landlord might reject us since my partner receives income from a non UK based company (working remotely) which he receives in his non UK account. We gave proof of income, bank statements, and letters from employer, and even mentioned in the offer for the property before giving deposit that my partner works for a non uk based company and how much he earns in the non uk currency. The referencing company that did all the checks said we’re good to go. So it’s strange that the estate agent is saying now that landlord is asking for 3months advance + deposit or otherwise they will reject they offer and not enter a tenancy agreement with us.
What can we do in this scenario? If the landlord does reject can we ask for our holding deposit back? I just feel it’s unfair for them to ask for 3 months in advance when we explained this situation to them before hand before sending the deposit.
Any advice would be appreciated.

My husband (43m) and I (43f) have been together for almost 18 years. I was a virgin when I married him and very inexperienced in relationships. He, on the other hand, had been married before and had multiple serious relationships before that.
For the first 5-6 years of our marriage, he spent a lot of time emotionally manipulating me into having the physical relationship he wanted. He would tell me that sex was his “reset” button and would make all his negative feelings go away. He wanted to have sex 3-5 times a week. And if that didn’t happen, then it was “okay” for him to be angry and frustrated at me about that. So, despite having a lot of chaos in those years outside of the bedroom (moving, changing careers, becoming a mother)…I forced myself to meet his needs as best I could. Including faking orgasms or interest in intimacy just to be done with sex. I now understand how hurtful that was to him, but at the time I thought it was how a wife should behave.
I didn’t know how to communicate about sex or my needs. And I grew up in a household where the wife was expected to meet her husband’s needs first.

Especially when she heard that he did nothing to take the burden of my daily life off my shoulders, or shared in any household tasks.
We kind of lived in a detente for a few years. I learned about better communication, and he started to help a little more. But there was always this background of tension. I was ANGRY at him for manipulating me into having sex. I was ANGRY at him for not taking more responsibility at home. He felt my anger was “the biggest problem”, and yet refused to acknowledge his role in my anger. I started to put boundaries around myself, so I wouldn’t totally burn out.
I spent most of the pandemic trying to work on our relationship. I asked him to work on being more romantic and developing non-sexual intimacy. He asked me for less anger and more sex. Discovered at some point that he was watching porn and gaming in his at-home office instead of getting work done. Late afternoon “meetings” were jerk-off sessions so he could “calm down” before joining the family. He still wasn’t putting much effort into making me feel loved in ways that meant something to me. I put so much time and money into finding ways for us to connect. For example, I’m not a gamer…but I started to game with him just to spend time with him. He really likes a specific board game, so I learned to play and spent hours each month playing with him.
So, here we are. In our 40’s with three kids who are higher-needs than most. My husband has never planned a date for us or spent any time or energy trying to do things I love (art, gardening, cooking). And frankly, I’m kind of exhausted with him. Tens of thousands of South Carolina mobile homeowners manufactured before 1976 & renting the land it sits upon, can be legally evicted without cause if the Appellate court upholds the verdict of my eviction based solely upon the wording of the 30-day notice of the end of the term of their expired lease agreement.
Many, if not most renters of land in a mobile home park, have leases for one year, which likely have never been renewed from year to year, as the law states.

I'm currently using XPMSSE and Racemenu with bunch of high-heel armors for NPC's. I also have RaceMenu High Heels (Height Fixes).
This is not the first time I'm using these mods but for some reason all the NPC's using high-heel boots are staring above my head. For non-heel footwear it's working normally, they are staring me in the eyes. It's clear that it has something to do with the NPC's gaining height due to the heels, but this has never happened before so I'm confused.
Anyone know what might be causing this? I suspect it's something minor that I've missed, any help appreciated.

I'm trying to display a long text but the letters of the text diplay in a really weird way (see picture). I've try to search on internet but I've not find anything revelant. I would be really tankfull if someone could help me.

The families look to their Israeli government and demand action, to return the hostages. Looking at it from Israel's government perspective, what was tried to date has failed. To assault where the hostages may be kept, through Gaza's masses, will create more casualties than there are hostages, maybe on both sides. Doing it that way cannot be a surprise extracting attack which worked in the past. That also risks the last desperate massacre of the remaining hostages by the Hamas "monster."
Consider "moral suasion" with healthy doubts. Right now, the families are "monkies in the middle" between Israel's sovereignty and governance by terror, the Hamas way. The families have untapped resources to self organize in one leading group. That group perhaps can help the "free Palestinians" to also organize, meet, learn about the possibilities of a consensus, and grow empathy's education "from the middle." For example, do the families (or anybody on the Right in Israel) know what drives Gaza's terrorists to govern from outside corners with blood, desperation, and corruption? It doesn't seem so.
Israel will insist it do the talking to outsiders on behalf of families. The government must retain its power and prevent further flowing away of duty and authority over families. Opposite, Hamas knows that simply turning over hostages will begin Israel's final solution - final invasion and death.
In the middle, the families have only peaceful alternatives to apply. That means to organize, make structure, meet assembled "free Palestinians." And talk, learn about their lives and desperations, particularly on the West Bank.
In October, 2023, a global "Happiness Survey" was published from a past but recent global survey to rate who is happy in their countries. Israelis were about the 6th happiest citizens in the world. Palestinians were about 104th. Accepting that hostages are, right now, forced to concede such truths daily, let us readers at least concede this: Palestinians were misserable in Israel's power care. Today, nobody asks "Why?" The hostage families can have that as their first mission to reach out to the other side. The mere act of meeting and trying is a duty to break the losing cycle of "no-deal - monkey in the middle." In reality, governance has imperatives, but some cultures may never be capable of real DEMOCRACY. Show them what a Prophet would do.
