2024.06.02 20:13 LaBlaugrana10 Which class for someone who doesn't care for this game's combat?
I've been playing this game off and on since beta, started with a stamblade, then magblade vamp, then quit, came back for elsweyr and necros, quit again, and now trying to get back into it for Gold Road. I love the world, story, housing, pretty much everything except the combat, it's a major turn off. I've leveled an Arcanist to 50 over the last week and it's....okay. It at least feels different-ish. I'm just tired of the spammable/la weaving, key - click - key - click - key - click while keeping up dots, it feels the same on every class.
Arcanist has felt somewhat different with a builder - spender system akin to other mmos I like the combat from, however it's still not feeling...*right*. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are there any builds that aren't the same variation or flavor of click key click key, and so on? I'm a big fan of flashy visuals and satisfying casts, that's why Arcanist has felt better, I think.

2024.06.02 20:13 AffectionateNanny56 I will never emotionally recover from this *spolier*
some context - this is the first game I’ve ever played on Xbox, I’m a cozy gamer at heart and play a lot of sims 4, stardew valley and animal crossing.
I have put in about 35 hours over the past week or so since I started playing on Tuesday.
I am unreasonably upset by Arthur’s diagnosis, I’ve built him up in my mind as a kind of invincible idol. I’m planning on prolonging this play through as much as possible, I’ll be exploring the world entirely before completing any more missions.
any emotional support/kind sentiments would be appreciated. I can’t believe how attached I am to a video game character🥺😭

2024.06.02 20:13 SSSSbirulino Great Moravian or Prussian ideas?
| Hello, I'm playing as Great Moravia, and i culture switched to Saxon in order to form Germany as Prussia after completing the bohemian mission tree. I wanted to know your opinion on which ideas are better in order to have a balanced game, because i fear that Prussian ideas and traditions would make my nation too focused on its military, on the other hand I fear that keeping Great Moravian ideas would make my nation too focused on its economy. Just to show the situation I'm in, my enemy is Russia which I alr beated up. submitted by SSSSbirulino to eu4 [link] [comments] |

I'm right now at chapter 7 of TTYD where i need to find both Goldbob and General White, i ended up talking to the Fire emblem kid by accident and he said he has been playing TTYD and hopes they'll make a Paper Luigi game someday. Was this in the original or could this be the next entry in the paper mario franchise?

2024.06.02 20:12 wixtrix25 Can I play this game one handed?
Hi everyone, fairly new to Diablo and PC gaming. Loving it so far… But I just broke my right arm and can’t use a controller or my current right -handed mouse. I’m looking to buy a left-handed mouse, but I am worried that, with the movement, potions, spells, etc, it won’t be feasible to play with just my left hand. Has anyone played this with just one-hand before, and if so, what mouse are you using and or keyboard bindings? Thank you!

2024.06.02 20:12 Comprehensive_Ad_916 Not enjoying fallout 2 compared to 1
I recently played Fallout 1 for the first time. I found it to be a pretty easy game once I learned the mechanics. I was impressed with everything about the game and gained a newfound appreciation for the series as a whole. This left me very excited to start Fallout 2. That excitement died almost immediately upon starting the game.
First thing I noticed is how the game clearly wants you to choose unarmed or melee. The tutorial is entirely melee oriented, and the only way to avoid this is to become a thief. Then the first two locations have npcs that give you free training in unarmed/melee. Even after this training and a full lvl of stat dumping, my kicks barely do any damage. I can't buy a fist weapon, because the whole theme of the early game is that everyone is poor and there are no vendors. I can get a fist weapon by killing a homeless child but then Sulik hates me.
I've reached the toxic caves and Sulik keeps glitching out when he steps in acid. The golden geckos are way more powerful than me but I can save scum and first aid my way through. I finally get to the end of toxic caves. Try to repair the elevator. Can't. Load earlier save. Dump my lvl up points into repair. Fight to the end again. Try to repair the elevator again. Fail. Google it and learn you need 50 lockpick and 60 repair for the very first dungeon in the game and are expected to come back later instead.
This just seems like the complete opposite of open ended game design I've come to expect from fallout games. Not sure why I'm posting this other than to vent. Hoping someone will help me see this from a better perspective so I can enjoy the game.

2024.06.02 20:11 Fun_Fortune_3221 Building a Power Rangers RPG System
I am a first time RPG system builder, and with my love of Power Rangers I decided to make it power rangers based. I want opinions from other Ranger fans on if they think sections need more clarification, or if the knowledge of power rangers should be enough for the system to work
Dice Rolls System
- Damage:
- Unmorphed: 1d6 damage (basic attacks)
- Morphed: 2d6 damage (basic attacks)
- Zord: 3d6 damage (basic attacks)
- Megazord: Collective 6d6 damage (basic attacks)
- Skill Checks:
- Based on rolling 1d20 against the GM’s set Difficulty Class (DC)
- Easy: DC 5
- Moderate: DC 10
- Hard: DC 15
- Impossible: DC 20
Additional Clarifications
- Critical Success and Failure:
- Rolling a natural 20 on a skill check is a critical success and might have additional positive effects.
- Rolling a natural 1 on a skill check is a critical failure and might have additional negative effects.
- Modifiers:
- Players can have modifiers to their skill checks based on their ranger's abilities, equipment, or situation. These should be agreed upon with the GM beforehand.
- Combat Actions:
- Apart from basic attacks, rangers can perform special maneuvers or teamwork actions which might use the same d6 dice for damage but have additional effects or benefits.
Example Skill Check Scenarios
- Easy (DC 5):
- Spotting a hidden item in a relatively open area.
- Remembering a commonly known fact.
- Moderate (DC 10):
- Climbing a tree.
- Negotiating a simple deal.
- Hard (DC 15):
- Disarming a complex trap.
- Convincing a hostile character to cooperate.
- Impossible (DC 20):
- Leaping across a wide chasm.
- Solving a complex puzzle under pressure.
Final Notes
- Role-Playing Emphasis: Encourage players to describe their actions and decisions, with dice rolls being used to resolve uncertain outcomes. This enhances the narrative experience.
- GM Flexibility: The GM should feel free to adjust DCs based on the context of the situation and the creativity of the player's approach.
Energy Points (EP) System
- Basics:
- EP is used to:
- Morph
- Summon Zords
- Form the Megazord
- Perform advanced attacks
- Each ranger starts with 5 EPs at the beginning of the series.
- Gaining and Losing EP:
- Passive EP Gain:
- Out of Combat: Rangers gain 3 EP every 5 real-time minutes.
- In Combat:
- Heroic Acts:
- EP can be awarded by the GM for heroic acts:
- Minor Heroic Acts: 1 EP
- Super Heroic Acts: Up to 5 EP
- EP Costs:
- Morphing:
- Summoning Zords:
- Cost: 15 EP (5 EP from morphing, requiring an additional 10 EP when morphed)
- Forming Megazord:
- Combined Total: 125 EP
- Individual Cost: Each ranger needs 10 additional EP (15 EP from zords already accounted for)
- Advanced Attacks:
- Cost: 1 EP per advanced attack
- Cooldown: Each advanced attack has a cooldown of 3 turns before it can be used again
- EP Transfer:
- EP can be transferred between rangers.
- Maximum Transfer: 5 EP can be transferred every 15 real-time minutes (this is a team-wide limit, not per ranger).
Summary and Clarifications:
- EP Usage:
- Morphing: Costs 5 EP.
- Summoning Zords: Costs 15 EP total (with 5 EP from morphing, requiring an additional 10 EP when morphed).
- Forming Megazord: Requires 125 EP total (15 EP from zords, 10 EP from each ranger).
- Advanced Attacks: Costs 1 EP, with a 3-turn cooldown.
- EP Gain:
- Out of Combat: Gain 3 EP every 5 real-time minutes.
- In Combat:
- Unmorphed: Gain 1 EP at the start of each combat round.
- Morphed: Gain 1 EP every 2 combat rounds.
- Heroic Acts:
- Minor heroic acts: Award 1 EP.
- Super heroic acts: Award up to 5 EP.
- EP Transfer:
- Team-wide maximum of 5 EPs can be transferred every 15 real-time minutes.
Example Scenarios:
- Combat EP Gain:
- Unmorphed Ranger: Gains 1 EP at the start of each combat round.
- Morphed Ranger: Gains 1 EP every 2 combat rounds.
- Summoning Zords:
- A morphed ranger with 10 EP can summon their zord (since 5 EP comes from being morphed, making a total of 15 EP).
- Forming the Megazord:
- All rangers need a collective total of 125 EP, with each ranger contributing 10 EP (since 15 EP comes from the zords).
Health Points (HP) System
- Basics
- Health is crucial for various aspects such as maintaining the megazord form, zord, and morphed state.
- De-Morphed
- Morphed
- Morphed rangers gain 10 points of temporary HP
- Max HP: 85
- If their HP drops below 5 a ranger will de-morph and remain at 5 HP
- In Zord
- Max HP: 200
- If zords HP drops below 50 the ranger is flung from their zord taking 10 HP of damage from the ejection. The zord requires time in non-combat times for repairs before it can be used again.
- Repair Time:
- Megazord
- Max HP: 500
- If the megazord drops below 100 HP the megazord falls apart
- When the megazord falls apart at 100 HP, all rangers take 10 damage each and remain in their individual zords. The megazord cannot be reformed until all zords are repaired to at least 75% condition
- Morphing Conditions
- A ranger can not morph unless above 5 HP
- If a ranger is at 5 HP they may not morph, but once they hit 6 HP they can morph
- HP Restoration
- HP is passively restored when out of combat, at a rate of 1 HP every 2 IRL minutes
- The GM can pause HP restoration if the ranger is unconscious, severely injured, in a situation requiring immediate attention, or they are out of focus in a separate scene/location. This should be used sparingly to maintain game balance.
- HP Transfer
- Rangers can transfer up to 15 HP to an ally once per session. This transfer is immediate and does not require the recipient to be at 5 HP, allowing for more strategic use of HP transfers.
Example Scenarios:
- Zord Repair:
- Scenario: After a fierce battle, the ranger's zord sustains moderate damage, requiring 1 hour of repair time. During this time, the ranger assists in repairing the zord while the team regroups and plans their next move.
- Megazord Breakdown:
- Scenario: The team engages in a challenging battle, causing the megazord's HP to drop below 100. As a result, the megazord falls apart, and the rangers are forced to retreat to their individual zords. They must work together to repair their zords to at least 75% condition before attempting to reform the megazord for future battles.
- HP Transfer Strategy:
- Scenario: One ranger, heavily injured after a tough battle, transfers 15 HP to an ally who is about to engage in a critical combat encounter. This strategic transfer boosts the ally's HP and enhances their chances of success in the upcoming fight.
Character Creation and Progression
- Basic Attacks
- Description:
- Basic attacks take no energy, and every ranger has the same three basic attacks in all forms (Strike, sweep, and kick)
- Advanced Attacks:
- Description:
- Advanced Attacks are specialized combat techniques or signature moves unique to each character. They encompass powerful strikes, magical spells, or unique abilities tailored to the character's style or theme.
- Supercharged Attacks:
- Supercharged Attacks are highly potent maneuvers that often require additional resources or meet specific conditions. They can deal significant damage or provide exceptional tactical advantages in combat.
- Availability:
- Each character has a limited number of advanced attacks based on their current form, the advanced attack is pre-determined:
- Unmorphed: 1 advanced attack available.
- Morphed: 2 advanced attacks available.
- In Zord: 1 advanced attack available.
- In Megazord: 1 advanced attack available.
- Abilities:
- There are 6 abilities, and each ranger specializes in 1:
- Tech
- Stealth
- Teamwork
- Charisma
- Intimidation
- Perception
- Skills:
- Skills are subcategories of abilities:
- Tech:
- Stealth:
- Teamwork:
- Charisma:
- Intimidation:
- Perception:
- Ranger Bonus:
- Ranger Bonus is also your level. Here's the level progression:
- Level 1: Everyone starts at level 1. Provides a +1 bonus to all skills in the ranger's ability specialization.
- Level 2: Unlocks the ability to use the zords.
- Level 3: Unlocks access to the megazord.
- Level 5: Provides a further increase, granting a +2 bonus to all skills in the ranger's ability specialization.
- Level 10: Provides another increase, granting a +3 bonus to all skills in the ranger's ability specialization.
- Leveling Up:
- Rangers level up exponentially, meaning that as they progress, the monsters defeated required to reach the next level increases significantly
- Notes:
- Defeating the same monster in a small form and in the zords does not count as 2 monsters defeated it still counts as 1
- Foot soldiers do not count towards defeating the monsters, but a villain general counts as defeating 2 monsters
- The main villain can not be defeated by the rangers before they are all level 10, but they can challenge them to harm them
Example Progression:
- At level 1, a Ranger specializing in Tech would receive a +1 bonus to all Tech-related skills.
- At level 2, they gain access to using the zords.
- At level 3, they unlock access to the megazord.
- At level 5, their Tech-related skills receive a further boost with a +2 bonus.
- At level 10, their Tech-related skills receive an even greater boost with a +3 bonus.
- Ability Scores
- Generating Ability Scores:
- Roll Three Six-Sided Dice (3d6): Roll three six-sided dice.
- Sum the Rolls: Add the results to get the ability score.
- Repeat: Repeat this process six times for each ability (Tech, Stealth, Teamwork, Charisma, Intimidation, Perception).
- Example:
- Roll: 4, 5, 3
- Sum: 4 + 5 + 3 = 12
- Ability Modifiers:
- 3–5: -1
- 6–8: +0
- 9–12: +1
- 13–15: +2
- 16–18: +3
- Ability Specialization:
- If a Ranger specializes in an ability (e.g., Tech), they get a bonus to their rolls related to that ability:
- Ability Checks
- When a character attempts an action that requires a skill or effort:
- Roll a d20: Roll a twenty-sided die.
- Add Relevant Modifier: Add the relevant ability modifier (e.g., Tech for hacking, Stealth for sneaking).
- Add Specialization Bonus (if applicable): If the character specializes in that ability, add the specialization bonus (e.g., +1 at Level 1).
- Compare to Difficulty Class (DC): Compare the total to a DC set by the Game Master (GM).
- Example:
- Saving Throws
- When a character tries to resist an effect:
- Example:
- Attack Rolls
- When a character attacks an opponent:
- Example:
- Critical Hits and Misses
- Critical Hit: Rolling a natural 20 on the d20 results in a critical hit, meaning the attack automatically hits and deals extra damage (e.g., double the damage roll).
- Critical Miss: Rolling a natural 1 on the d20 is a critical miss, which might have negative consequences (e.g., the character drops their weapon).
Combat
- Turns:
- Initiative: At the beginning of combat, the order of actions is determined by an initial roll of 1d6 for each participant. The participants include both players controlling rangers and the Game Master (GM) controlling monsters. The GM rolls a separate d6 for each group of monsters they control.
- Turn Order: After the initial roll, the turn order is established using a "popcorn" system. This means that after each character or group of monsters takes their turn, they choose who goes next. However, the same character cannot take consecutive turns within the same combat round, unless they are controlling different monsters (applicable only to the GM).
- Popcorning to the GM: When a player controlling a ranger decides to pass their turn to the GM (popcorn), they must specify which monster or group of monsters they are passing the turn to. This ensures clarity and helps the GM manage the flow of combat effectively.
- Monsters
- The GM rolls a d6 to determine if monsters hit the Rangers:
- 1d6 for weak monsters (foot soldiers).
- 2d6-4d6 for monsters of the week:
- 3-6d6 for villain generals or weaker monsters that have grown (zord fight size).
- An additional 1d6 is added if a smaller monster of the week becomes larger (e.g., 2d6 becomes 3d6).
- 6-8d6 for larger villain generals (zord fight size).
- Damage is determined by dice rolls against each other.
- Combat Cards
- Combat cards represent special abilities, weapons, or tactics available to the Rangers during combat. Each Ranger has a unique deck of combat cards tailored to their abilities and equipment. These cards provide various effects such as damage modifiers, bonus rolls, or special maneuvers that impact the outcome of combat.
- Combat cards are added to a Ranger's inventory for them to use during encounters.
- When to Pull: The GM will instruct a Ranger when to draw a card and the number of cards to draw, either upon level up or during a pivotal point in the story.
- Purpose: Combat cards enhance a Ranger's abilities, providing strategic options and unique effects in battle.
- Unique Decks: Each Ranger has a personalized set of cards based on their skills and equipment.
- Effects: Cards can offer damage modifiers, bonus rolls, or special maneuvers.
- Inventory Management: Players should keep track of their available combat cards in their inventory.
- Usage: Once a Ranger has a card in their inventory, they can call upon it at any time to use its effect, according to what the card specifies.
Example: Red Ranger's Bow:
- The Red Ranger could have a combat card representing their bow.
- When drawn, this card could provide a specific modifier to the Ranger's attack rolls, reflecting the increased range and precision of the bow.
- For example, the card could grant a +2 bonus to attack rolls made with the bow, enhancing the Ranger's chances of hitting their target.
- Implementation:
- At the start of each combat encounter or during specific milestones, players draw a predetermined number of combat cards from their deck when the GM tells them to do so
- Players can strategically use these cards during combat to gain advantages or turn the tide of battle.
- The GM also has a deck of cards representing special abilities or tactics for the monsters, providing dynamic challenges for the Rangers to overcome.
- Integration with Dice Rolls:
- When a combat card is played, its effects may modify the Ranger's dice rolls for attack, defense, or damage.
- For example, if the Red Ranger plays their bow card during an attack, they could add the card's modifier to their attack roll, increasing their chances of hitting the target.
- Similarly, if a monster plays a special ability card, it could modify their attack or defense rolls, adding unpredictability to combat encounters.
- Teamwork
- Description:
- Teamwork allows players to coordinate their actions to execute powerful team attacks. It involves communication between team members and collaboration with the GM.
- Mechanics:
- Communication: Players discuss their strategy with their team member(s) and describe to the GM how they would like the team attack to happen. This ensures everyone is on the same page regarding the plan of action.
- Participation: There's no limit to the number of team members that can participate in a team attack. Players can choose to involve as many teammates as they deem necessary to execute their strategy effectively.
- Roll Against GM: Once the plan is outlined, players roll against the GM to determine the success of the team attack. All players involved must succeed in their rolls to achieve the desired outcome of the combined damage on just one player's turn.
- Consequence of Failure: If any player fails their roll, the turn ends prematurely, and the team attack fails to deliver its full potential. This emphasizes the importance of coordination and teamwork to execute successful maneuvers.
- Any ranger who specializes in teamwork gets to apply their level modifier on any teamwork roll
Example:
- The Red and Blue Rangers decide to perform a synchronized attack against a powerful monster. They communicate their plan to the GM, outlining how they will combine their abilities for maximum impact. Both players roll their dice, aiming to hit the monster simultaneously. If both succeed, the combined damage is inflicted on the monster. However, if either of them fails their roll, the attack falters, and the monster retaliates, signaling the end of their turn.

2024.06.02 20:11 AndyJasmine22 FM rant
Hey guys. I recently got into FM. I played FM Touch and now I had FM on my laptop(had because I deleted it after I couldn’t pay the Game Pass fee this month).
Having played FM on my laptop, I have to say it is very detailed and in depth. The game is absolutely incredible. Very very meticulous. To the point of being overwhelmed. From the press conferences to the weekly staff and even team meetings. So much more I probably don’t even know about. The game is beyond what I thought it would be.
My rant is about how it feels like everyone is against you on FM? Am I the only one who gets this? Especially as I was a new manager at Leeds who were in the championship when I started. I know it’s realistic and I don’t hate it but man, I lost one tight game and I got absolutely shredded by them😭.
Even the way they’d talk about me in the media would be absolutely ridiculous. I play “route one” football to them, like dude I just got here?? Anyways just wanted to talk about FM and this feeling. Also the feeling when you’re new of saying the wrong things to your players and the press…making the wrong contract offers etc. The game makes making decisions that even feel right wrong! Like praising a player for having a good game! It’s so much! Anyways that’s all I have to say

2024.06.02 20:11 GeekyFeline9695 Are young people more social in the UK?
As a guy in his early 20s living in the USA, most of my generation isn’t very social. I know social media is pretty much a thing everywhere, but from my perspective here in the US, most of us young 20 something Americans seem to do nothing other than stay on our phones. Unless you count going to Starbucks, we don’t really go many places to socialize, at least in the part of the US where I live. From what I’ve seen online (and yes, I know you shouldn’t believe everything online) young people in the UK are always out and about, going to the local pubs, hanging out with friends, and though it’s not really always a social thing, most of them seem to have hobbies. (Most of us here just seem to play video games)
Is it really any different from here in the US, or is it just something we’re shown in the media?
I’m not trying to start a huge debate about young people and socialization here, it’s just something I’ve been curious about.

2024.06.02 20:11 gustteix Begginer overthinking stuff and needing help. Multiuse 2.1 Setup.
Hello everyone, how are you?
So, i have enjoyed my audio hobby using mostly headphones, but since im finally going to move in with my girlfriend i feel ill dwelve into a proper hi fi system.
I have made my research but man, it IS a lot more complex isnt it? So my goal with this post is to not only find advice and recomendations, but also kinda "validade" my reasearch a bit.
So my goal is to build a 2.0 home system to listen to music and movies and eventually games, with the possibility of going 2.1 in the future, but since ill live in appartments the super strong bass is not the way to go. Music inputs would be bluetooth and possibly a vinyl turntable.
I would like to be able to have just music turned on, without the TV turned on, and controlled by my phone. Or if its the turntable just the hi fi and the turntable. I would also like to be able to have the TV for movies and the possibility of playing games, both with using the tv only and also using TV+Hifi. Like everyday TV or series is just TV audio, special movie night of game session i would use TV+HIFI.
I would also like all of that without changing cables or having complex setups. One major point is that i also want the least amount of components, especially ones that require use of a controller.
Lots of needs no? Iell, i also dont have a lot of budget for that. So i would need to understand and plan everything well so that it works well, so i can buy stuff as i can that will be used on the final system.
So the first idea I had was to get a AV receiver with built in Amp, simple isnt it?
Content goes to receiver and it goes to the bookshelves speakers.
And there's also those e-arc hdmi things... huh, interesting. So i would need a receiver with earc, route my console or any other input through it, and then have the receiver output to the tv.
But, would that mean that to play the console i would always need to turn on the receiver?
I could invert and do the TV as the hub, but I read that doing the tv as a hub could have some problems on the multichannel audio. Is it true?
And also, the good brand and new receivers are expensive hehe, at least more than im willing to go for now.
But, if im using the TV as a hub , how about just an amp with bluetooth?
Well for music it would be ok, but movies it gets complicated, modern TVs dont have sound outputs anymore i feel, only some have optical and the consoles usually do things by hdmi. So it would need a DAC and that would put the price close to a receiver.
Then there is the powered speakers, some nice ones even.
They're a bit more expensive but offset that by having no need for the reciever. I could connect directly to bluetooth, for music thats great. But for the other content i dont know how well that would work, same problem of the tvs not having audio output since i would like a cabled connection for videos and games. Also i would like the flexibility of having better speakers in the future, and having them be powered might not alllow that.
I am willing to go used but i have no experience with it so i feel i could get easily fooled. Aesthetic wise i love how some older amps look but again i am a bit afraid of going used, at least very old stuff.
So, i came to the end without a solution, which is why i made this post! Am I overlooking some stuff? Am i blatantly wrong about something? Am I overcomplicating? Is there a fix?
I would love suggestions on both the setup and pieces of equipment. But i think that help planning the setup is more important.
Thank you all in advance.

2024.06.02 20:11 YesMan1ification Recommend me a mod to change the game for a fun replay, but not to change the game too much for a co-op partner that never played the game before.
Planning to replay the game with my wife, who never played it before.
I feel like Reforged has some nice fun changes, but makes a bit too many changes in the balance department I wish I could turn off.
Any recommendations for a nice spice-up mod that doesn't ruin a newbie co-op partner's experience too much?

2024.06.02 20:10 AceTheEevee Paperario 64
So call me a dumb kid but back when super smash bros melee cane out I was very adamant that the Star rod item came from paper mario since I had never played a kirby game outside of 64 but I always was like "it's cool they added a paper mario item to smash bros" but in reality they in fact did not. That's all I wanna say
