2024.06.02 20:37 SwimmingDare409 Seeing a breast specialist next week. What should I expect?
Some background: I’m a 36 year old woman in decent health. I have no health concerns other than I could stand to lose about 20 pounds. I had a routine visit with my PCP this past October and all bloodwork came back normal at that time.
Beginning of April- I began to have itchiness on my left breast, close the nipple. Not rash or change in the skin. No lumps of bumps in my breast. Toward the middle of April, I also noticed a clearish/whiteish discharge in my bras from my left breast. I made an appointment with my obgyn after this.
End of April- I saw my OB. She also did not feel any lumps. She suggested checking my prolactin levels which could be cause of the discharge and referred me for a mammogram and ultrasound. Prolactin levels came back normal.
Beginning of May- I had a mammogram and ultrasound on both breasts. No findings.
Mid May- back to obgyn. She referred me to a breast specialist. I have my appointment next week. I have also started having intermittent pain/discomfort in my left breast. All other symptoms still remain. The skin still looks normal.
Any idea what I can expect at the breast specialist appointment? Has anyone experienced something similar?

2024.06.02 20:09 Ok_Construction_3613 Are these blood spots really from bed bugs?
| My husband and our two dogs spent last week at a very nice, brand new beach house with my family. 9 bedrooms right on the OBX sound. We have two dachshunds who share the bed with us, and on day 2, we woke up and found around a dozen little blood spots on the sheets. We did some preliminary searches for bed bugs (I’ve never had them but husband did in college) and found nothing. Washed the sheets, stains came out, then found a few more spots the next morning. But NO bites on myself or my husband. One of the dogs had some bumps on his arms that he was licking but he has terrible allergies and gets random rashes/irritation, and especially has on this trip. I let my family know, and no one else found evidence of BBs in their rooms. They helped me search high and low in our bedroom. Throughout the bed frame, the mattress, the drawers, the headboard. Nothing. But what the hell else could these blood spots be?! And if they are bed bugs, why couldn’t we find ANY evidence of them, and why didn’t my husband and I get bites? I could be immune to them, but my husband definitely would notice because he had lots of itchy bites when he had them in college. Thoughts and input would be appreciated! submitted by Ok_Construction_3613 to Bedbugs [link] [comments] |

2024.06.02 20:00 Requining I hit my head
I’m female 25 years old;
So a piece of wood fell on my head right on the top slightly to the left it hurt pretty badly but nothing crazy. That was two days ago, I haven’t had a headache that didn’t feel normal (I get tension headaches a lot) and I thought I was fine there’s not even a bump on my head. But today I was cleaning my ears with a qtip I know I shouldn’t but it was itchy lol. And on the same side there was pink definitely pink not red on my qtip not very much I had to shine a light to even make sure it was pink but now I’m scared that my brain is bleeding 😭
I know it’s also possible that I just scratched my ear with the qtip, I don’t have a lot of money and I only want to go in if it’s probable that this is really serious I also have hypochondria so I’m freaking out

2024.06.02 20:00 peanutlotion Symptoms but negative test
Hi all, I’m kind of at a Stand still with my allergies. Ever since I could remember I have experienced sinus pressure, dizziness, sneezing, red itchy eyes, congestion, etc. all the normal allergy symptoms I had year round. I have been on antihistamines and nasal sprays to no avail for about 10 years. I reached my breaking point last year and went to 2 different allergists. Both times when I was tested, everything came back negative. I stopped all my allergy medicine 5-7 days beforehand too. The allergist said I didn’t have allergies, it was a structural problem… so I see an ENT who says I have a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. I have surgery to get my turbinates out and fix my septum. The winter after this was wonderful and I could finally breathe. Sure enough allergy season rolls around and my symptoms are back. I don’t know what to do. Every allergist says I don’t have allergies, but I can’t deny my symptoms. Any advice would be very helpful on what I can do next.

2024.06.02 19:47 tunrip Experienced dev in small company confused about the future
I began my first job as a programmer almost 25 years ago. I'm still there.
I enjoyed the mix of projects and work that came about as a result of working for a small company, but now things are changing and I find myself a bit out of water about the future.
I started in VB6, but my first big project needed a lot of work with the Win32 API too. That combination of skills worked really well as we continued to produce more VB6-based projects where I could include some really useful features.
We touched on a little ASP development back then, but it wasn't until the days of Visual Studio 2008 that we started new projects in Visual Basic .NET with
ASP.NET webforms. Oh, we had a couple of bits in PHP back then too, actually.
Around 2012 I began proposing that we should develop new projects in MVC, but this did not come to pass. The new projects we started continued to be in VB using WebForms. (I know, I know)
I have a very good understanding of WebForms and its lifecycle, and understand its strengths and its (many) weaknesses. Recently, we needed to extend an existing system with a third-party API, and I pushed for us to develop it using Web API.
I managed to explain to my boss why we needed to develop things differently, and managed to explain how WebForms worked and why it was continuing to be a problem, and got the approval for us to develop this using Web API.
Whilst being very keen for us to move into developing these more modern skills, I was also aware that our existing team had limited knowledge, and that changing too much at once could lead to more problems. In discussion between us, we eventually decided to use Web API on .NET Framework 4.6 still in VB. I'm sure a whole lot of you will be frowning and eye-rolling at that, but it seemed the best balanced approach to help us begin developing new skills.
Even with this though, one of my colleagues really struggled to understand the aims. Almost even just at a conceptual level. "The Web API will do *all* the validation," I said, and he just kept leaving things out. "Start by just writing it out as a normal function we can call," I said, "don't worry about the new stuff to begin with. Let's get all the existing validation into one place, then we can move it over".
Even then he just couldn't get the concept of moving all the validation into one place.
My boss has always said "Shout if there's a problem with a project, in case we need to raise the estimate with the customer". I made sure to explain that this colleague was particularly struggling, and that even although we'd allowed time for learning new things, we were still likely to be over budget.
I ended up rewriting most of the existing screens myself. I moved all the validation and updating into the Web API, and developed a set of classes for helping to validate everything and feed the errors back to the user. I worked intense hours to try to get this all finished and working.
Once it was finally complete, my boss repeatedly complained that it was over budget, and I was a bit lost and confused that I had been flagging the problems with him from the start and giving him updates throughout about the status. I kind of feel a bit like he didn't know what to do about it either, so didn't do anything at the time, and it's easier to complain at the end.
In general, I juggle liaising with the customer, leading the team, and getting in developing things. In a way I'm somewhat envious of my colleague who struggled, because when he finishes something he'll ask "what am I going on to?"
I don't remember the last time I ran out of things to do.
The same colleague has a habit for not fully reading emails properly sometimes and will reply "Done" to a short list of three items. So often I'll as; "What about number 2?" "Oh yeah, missed that!"
I'm also at the moment leading replacing some of our older servers with newer ones. That's been on hold for about a year, but I'm the only one who understands enough, and we want to move everything into the cloud. Friday I was working out how to move from Redirected Folders setup in Group Policy onto OneDrive for Business, with a break in the middle helping my boss review open enhancements for a client.
I quite like doing a bit of the server stuff, or managing people, but I always feel like it's programming that's in my blood. I love it. But I also really enjoy thinking about HOW something will be used. How will the end user use this? How will it work best?
I have good English skills and do a lot of communication with clients. When I'm sending a release notice about a new feature, I really want to make sure that we've implemented everything well and sensibly.
That's a bit of an overview of everything. I've done that because... I'm not sure what my job is.
As a result of staying in a small company for so long, I've got lots of skills, but I'm also very much he round peg honed to fit perfectly fit the round peg of where I am.
My boss is now looking to retire.
I was always quite keen in taking over more, but I was very confused about the way things were happening. For a lot of things my boss does, nobody else has been trained up to do them.
He's planning on selling the company. I absolutely didn't feel confident to take over this because I don't know enough about a lot of those things, and I'm aware that there are challenges internally too.
The colleague I mentioned is in the running to take things over.
I think ultimately my boss doesn't especially want to step back while he's the owner. My colleague with less of an attention to detail isn't worried about the problems that need solving. I really do like that colleague as a person, but for a company which has always been about paying attention to detail, I'm really worried.
Previously, I was always keen to have been more involved. But I'm feeling less convinced that I want to be.
And on a day-to-day basis I'm so busy that when I'm finished for the day, I just don't have enough "brain" left to think about everything.
I don't know whether I want to be a part of the company as its future changes, but at the same time, I don't even know how I'd describe what my job is or what I'd look for.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything at the moment. I just bumped into this subreddit today and thought "Sod it, I'm just going to have a bit of a splurge."
Sorry for the long ramble. I think to a degree just writing it all down helped. If anyone remotely has any advice or even small suggestions then they're appreciated. I don't need any magic answers, but at the moment I'm overwhelmed even trying to think about what direction I want to move in.

2024.06.02 19:46 figure_sk8 Safe House (GMMTV) Day 6 Summary/Rough Translation [Potential Spoilers]
Hi everyone,
Here's the summary for Day 6 of Safe House. This one was also short enough to fit the whole day into one post. Hope you enjoy!
Video 1 Link:
https://www.youtube.com/live/Bj2-lxkbG1U?feature=shared - Luke is exercising while everyone else is sleeping. At around 9:00, PD starts giving wake-up calls with chicken noises.
- 20:00 Product plug for the Dyson hair dryers
- 26:30 PD calls everyone down for the King of the Day competition
- 30:00 Phuwin reads the directions. Each person must fold a paper plane. Simultaneously, they will all stand behind the line and throw their planes. The person whose plane lands farthest from the centre of the target is eliminated; this continues until there's one winner.
- 53:15 King of the Day photo op
- 53:45 Everyone prepares breakfast in the kitchen using some leftovers from yesterday's dinner. Tay makes more lemon tea with honey.
Video 2 Link:
https://www.youtube.com/live/L8FBOxlJoQA?feature=shared - They're eating breakfast. Earth has some minor swallowing/chocking issues at around 10:00, but it's nothing too serious.
- 20:45 Neo wants to play a recreational game. One at a time, each person, blindfolded, must use the spatula and attempt to lift one scoop of money from the large tray into the small tray.
- 32:00 Everyone silently agrees to prank Neo
Video 3 Link:
https://www.youtube.com/live/3wNDiAP2Zbg?feature=shared - They're relaxing when we join them. They're analysing previous games of Werewolf they played.
- 13:00 PD calls everyone to assemble for the next medal competition. King of the Day divides everyone into two teams: blue and yellow.
- 17:10 Tay reads the directions. [the directions are very short because they contain a term that's just two words in Thai, but (as far as I know) doesn't really have an English translation. Luke doesn't understand, so they spend some time explaining and demonstrating the concept to him. It's basically when two people start at opposite sides of a playing field and run in one direction with one person trying to catch the other] In relay format, the teams will send one person at a time to jump with the medicine balls around the track, one lap per team member, until one team is able bump their medicine ball into their opponent's medicine ball. Winning team gets one medal each
- 25:20 There's a minor collision, but everyone is fine. They can't determine who won that round, so they'll start again.
- 29:00 Mix tries to not let the game end because of a technicality (he thinks that if he guards his medicine ball with his leg and the opponent's ball touches his leg, it doesn't count). PD says that it's not valid and that Mix actually lost.
- 31:00 PD announces a second game. Tay reads the directions. Staying in the same teams as before, and still in relay format, one person at a time from each team must shake all the ping pong balls out of the box that's strapped to their waist before relaying to the next person. Winning team gets one medal each.
- 40:00 They clean up the ping pong balls and Tay does a product plug for the black inhalers.
- 44:30 Some of the guys have an impromptu modelling battle with the inhalers.
- 51:30 Lunch. Menu includes pad gaprao pork with dry chilis, and noodles with pork and fried egg
- 1:01:00 They start another pun/wordplay session based around the word "bear" ("mi" in Thai, because it sounds similar to the type of noodle they're eating).
- Highlights: 1:02:30 Mix asks, "What type of bear misses you?" Answer: Koala (because if you call it in Thai, it sounds similar to, "I've been waiting," which Mix turns into, "I've been waiting for you.")
- 1:03:40: Neo uses the word "bear" in Thai as a pun with lyrics to a song
- 1:05:00 Earth asks, "Which bear is famous for fashion?" Answer: Milan ("mi"-lan)
- 1:05:50 Pond asks, "What kind of car has love?" Answer: Taxi (if you say, "taxi meter" in English, it sounds like, "The taxi has you (as a term of endearment)" in Thai)
- 1:08:30 product plug for imported Muskat grapes. When they start eating, they start another wordplay session around the theme of fruits.
- 1:12:30 Khaotung asks, "What kind of fruit eats a lot?" Answer: Apples ("apple" said in Thai sounds similar to "sneakily eats additional portions"). They explain a new vocab word to Luke while everyone moves outside to the pool area to continue eating the grapes.
- 1:19:00 Relaxing by the pool. They have a jam session and improvise some songs. Some of the songs are about random topics (like trying to promote Thailand to foreign tourists), and some of the songs are like rhyming games/challenges.
- 1:41:45 Luke improvises a song in English
- 1:49:00 They go to the living room and some continue to play music
Video 4 Link:
https://www.youtube.com/live/W909YEhhqUc?feature=shared - They're relaxing when we join them.
- 6:00 At the dining table, Tay, Earth, Phuwin, Mix, and Khaotung discuss the plots of Western fairy/folk tales such as Cinderella and Pinocchio. They talk about the original/traditional versions vs. the Disney versions.
- 10:00 Pond, Neo, and Luke are having a small jam session in the play zone
- 15:30 PD asks everyone to meet at the pool for the next medal competition, sponsored by Lactasoy. They'll stay in the same teams from this morning. Tay reads the directions (he first starts reading the cards out of order, so when he realises, he starts over with the correct card). One team at a time, one person must stand on the shaking platform holding a tray. The other three team members will take turns diving into the pool to retrieve boxes of Lactasoy and bring them back to the tray to construct a pile/tower. Only one person can be in the water at any time. This continues for 2 minutes, at which point the current height of the tower will be recorded. The team whose tower is higher at the 2-minute mark wins one medal each.
- 21:00 They try out the shaking platform. King of the Day says that he wants the opposing team to go first. Some people aren't in swimming clothes yet, so they run and change while the rest wait and play with the shaking platform. They start the game around 26:00.
- 33:15 PD announces that they'll repeat the same stacking game again but without the diving component, and they will award additional medals. One person will hold the tray on the shaking platform while the other 3 members stack as tall of a tower as they can within 1 minute. Winning team will win one medal each.
- 41:00 PD says they can play in the pool a little while longer, but they can go shower and come down for dinner whenever they're ready. They decide to play a game where two people will join hands and act as a barrier in the centre of the pool, and everyone else has to star on one side of the pool and try to pass the barrier and touch the opposite side of the pool
- 52:00 They play a wrestling game where they have to pair up and one person has to sit on the other's shoulders to wrestle as one team.
- 57:00 They shower and change for dinner.
- 1:36:30 Dinner. Menu includes rice vermicelli with curry (khanom jeen namya) and crab, rice with seafood and egg, soft Thai omelette with cheese, and dessert is bua loy (glutinous rice flour mixed with (usually) something like taro or squash, then formed into a ball and boiled, then served in coconut milk)
- 1:39:00 Since it's their last night in the house, they say that they want the "quieter" people to be the main jokers/entertainers this evening. Pond says that he's been doing "homework" by looking for jokes on YouTube. Everyone donates their cucumbers to Neo again.
- 1:43:00 They talk a bit about ketogenic diets because one of Tay's recent colleagues was doing it.
- 1:46:30 They recap and explain some of the earlier jokes to Luke
- 1:48:00 Mix asks everyone which dish they would choose if they were only allowed to eat one dish for the rest of their lives.
- Pond: Fried fish with fish sauce because he likes it a lot
- Phuwin: Fried rice because it's relatively balanced and there are many variations
- Luke: Mix's salad because he loves it and it's balanced
- Tay: Stir fried mixed vegetables with fried chicken
- Neo: (they first tease him about his love for cucumbers for a bit)
- 1:53:45 Mix asks what each person would want to eat as their last meal.
- Tay says that he would want to eat something like crispy pork belly or grilled chicken, but charred because he usually avoids eating overly charred foods out of fear of carcinogens. Pond enthusiastically agrees and says he's the same.
- 1:54:20 Neo makes another wordplay joke. He says, "But cancer isn't really that scary, you know. It's just cancer." Tay gives the correct response ("Because at least they don't shoot, right?") and then everyone else understands. [basically, the Thai word for "cancer" is pronounced like "maleng" in colloquial Thai. If you separate the syllables, it means "to aim," as in aiming a gun. So just aiming a weapon at someone isn't scary because they're not shooting it]. They then explain the joke to Luke. [in case you're wondering why Luke says the English word "insect" here, it's because he tried to guess the meaning of the joke, but he was incorrect because the closest word he knew was a completely different word (pronounced more like "malaeng")]
- 1:57:00 Khaotung makes some imitation crab for Mix because he didn't want to eat the rice/carbs from dinner, so he wanted Mix to have enough to eat. He had disappeared from the table earlier, but no one knew what he was doing until now.
- 1:59:15 Back at the table, they're explaining more wordplay jokes to Luke. Sometimes they struggle to explain them. Luke says that he likes learning the new words, and he gets double laughter because he laughs once when everyone else laughs, and then he laughs a second time after they explain and he understands the jokes. [the theme for this round of jokes is vegetables (phak). They're rattling off the jokes in relatively quick succession, and some of them are silly/cheesy, so the guys say that the bad ones are not worth explaining to Luke. I'll translate one example of a "good" joke and one example of a "cheesy" joke that they told here]
- 2:04:45 Pond asks, "Which vegetable has good manners?" (the answer is "Chinese broccoli" because the Thai name is pronounced like "khana," which sounds like you're saying, "Yes, aunt," in a polite/respectful way if you separate the syllables)
- 2:05:25 Neo asks, "Which vegetable hurts the most?" [the answer directly translates to, "Shall we take turns slapping?" but the guys deem this joke as cheesy/not that funny because Neo did wordplay on the word "phak" and turned it into " phad kan" (meaning "to take turns")]
- 2:07:00 Luke says he's struggling a lot with these vegetable jokes because there are a lot of vegetables in Thailand he either doesn't know at all because they don't have them in the US, or he doesn't know the Thai name (or both).
- 2:08:15 They switch joke categories to the brand/product sponsors of the show.
- 2:18:00 They eat dessert and continue explaining new vocab words to Luke. They then teach him the song they've been singing all week when they're having the random dancing breaks during their games. There are some disagreements about the small details of the instrumentals. They tease Phuwin for knowing it worse than they expected and say it's probably because he went to international school.
- 2:25:00 Earth retells his childhood story about how he used to secretly break a few dirty dishes in the forest area behind his house each when he was too lazy to wash the dishes.
- 2:28:30 Neo and Mix try to act out an old comedy skit. Mix is a doctor and Neo is a blind patient getting his vision checked.
- 2:42:00 Relaxing time. They sit in the living room and turn on the TV and completely coincidentally find the show with the exact sketch that Neo and Mix were just acting out earlier, so they play it for Luke to see.
- 2:49:00 PD calls everyone to the play zone for the next medal game. PD explains the rules: King of the Day divides everyone into two groups. One group at a time, each person will choose one of the toy cars with sharp objects attached to the bodies and an inflated balloon attached to the back. The cars will drive randomly around the enclosed area, with the guys gradually decreasing the size of the area as time goes on. Out of each group of 4, the first person whose balloon pops loses one medal, and the last remaining balloon gets one medal. The two group winners will then compete for one more medal.
- 2:51:00 Luke chooses Mix, Pond, and Neo for his team because he hopes Neo will win and get two medals
- 2:57:40 PD asks the two remaining competitors to pick up their cars to make the driving area even smaller. He then asks them both to change balloons because they wonder why Pond's balloon has been touched several times but hasn't popped.
- 3:02:00 Khaotung's balloon pops by itself as they're releasing their cars, so PD calls for a restart.
- 3:04:20 Phuwin's balloon pops by itself as the cars are driving, but PD says that it still counts.
- 3:12:30 Relaxing Time. PD tells Mix that they're allowed to gamble/challenge each other for medals, if they want. They agree that no one should challenge Khaotung because if Khaotung wins, then no one else has a chance of winning the show tomorrow. Neo is interested in challenging one of the people with 8 medals. Pond accepts the challenge. They decide to play the pointing game they played on Day 4 (Day 4, part 2/2 from my previous posts). The winner out of 3 games will win two medals from the other.
- 3:20:00 Luke is disappointed and despondent for the loser. PD asks Luke if he has anything to say, and he says that he doesn't.
- 3:22:00 Relaxing time
- 3:25:00 Luke and Phuwin are bitter at PD about making the rule about losing medals in the car game.
- 3:29:00 They're hanging out in the large bedroom, and Luke is using Earth's push-up equipment. For entertainment purposes, Neo wants to gamble more medals. He suggests a push-up competition with Luke, and Luke declines. Neo suggests Pond again.
- 3:32:00 The conversation/negotiation continues until Tay pulls Neo away (saying, "No more. You're not in a good state right now. Let's go calm down over here."). Phuwin asks Luke to take off his shirt to show Neo how ridiculous his challenge was. Luke says that Neo's probably seen him shirtless enough already this week. Neo retorts with, "If I hadn't committed to doing this show, I'd be a runway model in the US right now."
- 3:33:30 They want PD to help them play a game of Werewolf so all 8 of them can participate in the game. PD asks for a moment to find someone who will serve as the narrator for them. PD returns at 3:35:30 to say that they're going to use that one specific camera for the game, so everyone needs to position themselves so that this camera can see them clearly.
- 3:38:30 Game begins. Werewolves=Mix/Earth, Seer=Tay, Bodyguard=Neo, Hunter=Khaotung. Before the first round begins, they go around asking each other what they each are. Luke tries to make a Thai-style wordplay joke, and it doesn't really work (which is why everyone is confused after he speaks), but everyone finally understands what he was trying to do and applaud him for the effort.
- First round: They realise that there's an issue because there's no easy way for PD to reveal to the Seer whether or not the other players are werewolves. They first propose that the seer just becomes a normal villager, but then PD realises that they can pan the camera left for "yes" and right for "no." Luke dies. They vote to kill Earth.
- 3:55:30 Second round: Pond dies. They vote to kill Mix. Common people win.
- 4:02:00 Second game. Werewolves=Earth/Phuwin, Seer=Tay, Bodyguard=Neo, Hunter=Khaotung
- First round: Tay dies. They vote to kill Pond.
- 4:11:00 Second round: No one dies (Neo saved Luke). They vote to kill Khaotung. Khaotung chooses to kill Phuwin with him.
- 4:19:30 Third round: No one dies (Neo saved himself). They vote to kill Mix.
- 4:23:45 Fourth round: No one dies (Neo saves himself). They vote to kill Earth.
- 4:28:00 They head back downstairs to have something to eat.
- 4:32:00 Phuwin is making Thai-style carbonara. Tay asks him whether he tends to cook more Thai food or more Western food at home. Phuwin replies that his family tend to make mostly Thai food.
- 5:01:20 Fan Talk
- Group 1: They're all a bit sad that this is their last night in the house together. They think they'll be lonely when they go home. They praise Khaotung because he's been consistently good at the medal games all week, and they think he'll be the ultimate winner. They all agree that it's been such a fun experience and they would be happy to come back again if they have the opportunity. Luke says that he's a bit frustrated because he lost a medal. They recap the King of the Day competition and say that Luke is the only person who's won twice so far. Luke hopes to win again tomorrow. Luke is disappointed that Neo lost two medals; he's not necessarily surprised by the result because Pond was one of the best at that game anyway, but Luke is surprised that Neo was bold enough to gamble two medals. They all agree that Neo has brought a lot of good and positive energy (and a very fast wit) to the house and to the show, so they're glad that they have him. They recap the medicine ball and the ping pong ball games. They praise Earth for his ingenuity in the ping pong ball game with the push-up position. Earth asks them which game they each liked best from today. Mix says that he doesn't usually like competitive games, but he liked the medicine ball game. Luke and Khaotung liked the Lactasoy tray game.
- 5:10:25 Fan Comments: Fans complimented Khaotung. A lot of fans also asked for a Season 2; the guys joke that they're about to start a Season 2 immediately after finishing this season. Fans also comment positively about Neo's ability to pull out everyone else's energy and humour.
- 5:19:50 Group 2: Everyone is also sad that their week together is ending. They expect that they'll all feel lonely when they get home. The other three say that they'll miss Phuwin cooking for them. Neo and Tay joke that they haven't been successful with medals. They all wish they could do this again, and they all compliment Neo for being the "head of content" in the house. Tay is especially disappointed because he wishes he could have had the full week with everyone. Pond says it was nice to get closer with Tay over these past few days; they've discovered that they have a lot in common, especially when it comes to their tastes in food. They recap Neo's challenge to Pond for the two medals. They also say that Luke was thoughtful for trying to help the lower rankers to get more medals, and it's a shame that Neo gained four medals but lost two today. Neo and Pond play another mini game on the sofa.
- 5:29:00 Fan Comments: People are cheering for and supporting them for the last day. Phuwin and Tay read some English comments. They ask whether Tay has updated Gun on the status of their points/ranking. They are happy to see how the relationships have developed over the week, and they're waiting to see what's in store for the final day.
- 5:36:15 They start heading up to the large bedroom to hang out and watch a film, and they consider sleeping in the same room. They start doing some MBTI assessments, then they start talking about what animals they each look like. They think Neo looks like a mouse, Luke looks like a bear, Mix looks like a cat, Earth looks like a kind werewolf (because he's been a werewolf pretty much every time they've played the game), Phuwin looks like a beagle, Pond also looks like a (kind) dog.

2024.06.02 19:38 Plague_of_Ice Crossfire and Cimexa having ZERO effect
First noticed signs of a minor infestation in March (bites and casings). Exterminator came out and confirmed the infestation, then treated with Crossfire after I'd washed/dried/bagged everything I own. First few days were bite free, then they gradually started coming back. Exterminator told me to wait, so I did.
After a month, I was getting even more bites, so I contacted him again. Landlord was very resistant to sending him out a second time but finally acquiesced. This time, for some reason, he decided to use an older, non-Crossfire pesticide that did absolutely nothing and caused no noticeable decrease in the number of bites (by this point about 5-10 per day). I waited another month just in case, but the bites kept coming.
Landlord now refuses to send the exterminator again because I can't produce a live bug as evidence of infestation, so I took matters into my own hands and bought Crossfire and a garden sprayer. Mixed it properly and according to label (I know this is where most people go wrong so I was very careful). Sprayed my mattress, metal bed frame, couch, all around the baseboards of every room and six inches out from every baseboard. The next day, I lightly dusted around the baseboards and my bedframe with Cimexa.
That was two weeks ago. I'm still receiving ~5 bites every single day with absolutely no change whatsoever. Textbook bed bug bites: 3-4 in a line, itchy and red. I'm preparing to re-treat, but this seems abnormal based on everything I've read. I know new bugs continue hatching, hence the additional treatments, but that doesn't explain the steady bite frequency. I have never seen a case where the first round of Crossfire had absolutely ZERO effect.
The bed is isolated. I run the bedding and pillow through the dryer on high heat once a week. I am not being re-infested because a) I work remote and have been largely quarantining myself since the infestation began and b) there's no fluctuation in the bite frequency, it is steady and constant and unchanging. I have yet to find evidence of bed bugs, but the bites are exactly the same as I have been receiving since this nightmare began, so I'm nearly certain they're not caused by something else. For additional context, I react to almost all bites within ~12 hours (I know this based on a couple work trips I had to take, during which I received zero bites for the duration of the trip but immediately saw bites again after my first night back at home).
What's going on here? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is it possible the survivors of the first Crossfire round developed resistance? I've been trawling this sub for weeks and have not seen a single experience like mine.

2024.06.02 19:35 Visual-Meeting-7303 Is this an allergic reaction or infection?
| Hey all. I got this tattoo on Wednesday, 5/29. On the 30th, I noticed some mild redness near the tattoo but did not think too much of it due to the natural healing process. On the 31st, I noted these red bumps appear near the tattoo. I asked my artist if this was problematic and she stated it wasn't a concern unless it was oozing. These bumps have gotten worse since then. There is no oozing or bumps apparent on the tattoo itself. It is itchy. For context, I have been following aftercare instructions to a tee. Washing with mild antibacterial soap and moisturizing with non-scented white lotion twice a day. She shaved me prior to the tattoo and then placed a sterile bandage over afterwards. Does anyone know what this could be? submitted by Visual-Meeting-7303 to tattooadvice [link] [comments] |
2024.06.02 19:19 Legitimate-Limit-546 For a Friend
Hives #suddenchangeinallergy #adultwomen This is a friends' post I'm just trying to get her some answers.
Okay... at this point I'm turning to the internet because yknow it's cheaper than going to a doctor and I'm at a frickin loss. I keep breaking out in hives at random and I can't physically keep taking benadryl every time(the only thing that seems to be working) because unfortunately for everyone involved I don't do well anything remotely like a sedative (I get the angry tired effect and get knocked into a blackout coma) and it's just not a sustainable option for obvious reasons. I'm like tearing my hair out stressed because I haven't the faintest idea what could be triggering it. -I've been allergy tested before. The only thing that I had a genuine reaction to was a scented laundry detergent (can't be that because I've used the same detergent ever since the first reaction and never changed it again) -Keep getting pressure hives from my clothing from anything remotely "tight" against my skin (never had that happen before maybe like 2 months ago) but like I can't even wear a bra (the same bras I've worn for 2 years all the sudden) because after a few hours I get itchy and start forming huge welted lines across my chest and like even around my waist where any of my pants sit and it feels like my skin is on fire, but like none of my clothing are actual tight against my skin even just it resting on my skin for a long period sets it off and even just skin on skin contact sets it off so it can't just be my clothing or like an elastic allergy -I have this random patch of like weird scaly lizard skin on one of my eyelids that looked like psoriasis or eczema so I keep trying to put psoriasis cream on it but it just keeps getting worse instead of better but it makes it feel like i have fuckin tape stuck to my eyelid 24/7 and that alone is driving my nuts (I've never had psoriasis before and it popped up like 4 or 5 months ago at random) -I thought maybe I was having a reaction to the dog because she new so I keep trying to minimize like touching her or like washing my hands thoroughly (still happens even if I've purposely stayed away from her all day) -thought maybe I was touching something at work but I touch a bunch of things all day everyday and it doesn't happen every day just like every once in a while ill notice bumps on my hands or elbows lately (but again never had this problem before now and it can't be that I'm suddenly allergic to medicines I've been touching for frickin 4 years) -Also suddenly have a freaking really bad allergic reaction (hives, red splotchy skin, wheezing) if I'm out in the sun too long apparently (never had that issue before now even just like 2 hours out in the sun is apparently too much now)
I just feel like I'm going insane and I'm tired of feeling my skin is being dipped in acid all the sudden.

2024.06.02 19:13 Equivalent_Whale868 Flight mayhem on way to interview
I'm trying to get to an second round in-person interview and my first appointment was canceled because Friday's bad weather canceled all my flights. Called the hiring manager, no problem we'll try again. We plan for me to fly up Sunday night, interview first thing Monday morning. Now I'm at the airport with my second attempt and the first connecting flights is very delayed. So delayed that it bumped into my second connecting flight and the airline rebooked the second flight for tomorrow morning, smack in the middle of my interview time. That means I'd also have to cancel (and pay for) another hotel reservation on short notice and get a hotel in the stopover city tonight. American says this itinerary is the best they can do, I've been sitting on hold with SATO for over an hour with no answer (I'm on their emergency line but I'm not even sure they're open on Sundays), and so far the hiring manager hasn't responded to the voicemail I left on the cell number in their email signature. I'm kind of at a loss what to do.
Option 1: get on these flights anyway, pay for a hotel tonight, and hope to contact hiring manager first thing tomorrow to shift our time slot. They already mentioned Friday that Monday is very busy except for the morning when I will still be flying there and my scheduled flight back home leaves at 1300.
Option 2: retreat and start from scratch after I get in touch with the hiring manager
Thoughts or ideas?

2024.06.02 19:06 Any-Beyond2809 Need some help
Just finished my second round of permethrin last Wednesday. I’m still itchy in some of the same spots, especially during the day. At night I have definitely slept better. Is it normal to still itch a good amount after final treatment? I also have these bumps on my genitals which I think is from scabies, I don’t know how to get them to go away and they itch. Any advice?

2024.06.02 18:27 Ill_Rip8056 Age Old Question: Is this Scabies? With information!
So I woke up this morning to find small red bumps just on my middle finger and pink on my left hand. They aren't itchy at all and they don't seem to hurt without contact. They don't seem to be anywhere else on my body either.
I've recently got a bad cold, probably due to my allergies and have been suffering for a few days, I am getting better, though! Just the other day, I was thifting and found a gorgeous skirt. Obviously, I got it! The seller said it was dry cleaned, and so I wore it for a few hours. Did you think this could he a potential cause? Does this look like the average case? Let me know, please!

2024.06.02 17:05 Aginagala WWF Over The Edge 1998 Review
Welcome back to my running series of WWF PPV Reviews from a ‘blind’ perspective (I have no idea what’s going to happen; the results, the feuds or how good any of the matches will be). I have always heard stories of the attitude era and golden age but never watched it myself so I set myself to watching every single PPV event chronologically. I am also watching Wrestling Bios ‘reliving the war’ series to keep me updated inbetween the events with the feuds, and to get excited about upcoming matches.
Before I review the matches, based on the past few episodes of raw and last PPVs I’ll let you know, going into the event, which match I’m most excited for and which feud I’m most excited to see.
The card tonight isn’t particularly stacked, mid card and opener wise, but it’s gotta be dude love vs stone cold. They had by far the best match last PPV and it will be the same story again tonight guaranteed. Anything involving stone cold will have McMahon involved and that feud is the big draw right now. Feud and match wise that’s my most anticipated match.
WWF Over The Edge 1998 Match Ratings
LOD 2000 vs DOA 1.75/5
Double J vs Steve mofuggin Blackman 1.25/5
Marc Mero vs Sable N/A
Kaientai vs Bradshaw & Taka Michinoku 1.25/5
Farooq vs The Rock 0.75/5
Kane vs Vader 1.75/5
D-Generation X vs The Nation 2.5/5
Dude Love vs Stone Cold Steve Austin 5/5
The absolute nerve of the wwf here to book LOD and DOA two PPVs in a row… to be fair though the crowd actually really seemed into this match. LOD still have a little juice left in the tank but they are truly just openers here. DOA I really don’t enjoy their in ring ability. It was an okay match and really not too much to say here. There was a very big pop when LOD won though.
The Rock cuts a promo next and he’s got his own entrance music, although it’s nowhere near as good as his future theme it’s still great that he’s not got that NOD music anymore, he’s finally his own wrestler. He shit talks the crowd but Farooq comes to the ring to get something damage in early before their match later. Not an amazing promo or anything but it builds some hype for later on although this is thrown up in the air as rock is injured from a pile driver on top of a chair. I suppose this is to make rock over as a champion?
Austin cuts a promo and says “mr McMahons ass belongs to me”… okay Steve if you say so.
Double J is brought to the ring by Tennessee Lee with some crazy visuals behind him as he does his strut in the ring but there’s just no crowd reaction apart from a few boos which made me laugh. Steve mofuggin Blackman then makes his way to the ring and double J doesn’t know what he’s in for.
The crowd seemed to be more entertained by the Al Snow silliness on the outside of the ring and you can’t blame them, this match was very very slow. The interference from Tennessee Lee was kinda interesting but there weren’t really many good looking moves, one of Blackmans kicks looked good in the middle of the match though. Another just below average okay match.
Next we get to see who sable has picked to represent her for the match and she makes her way to the ring but gah dayam she looks great tonight. Let’s see if she can get herself out of this toxic relationship… by fighting Mero herself? Mero then pretends to care about sable and lets her pin him… but then the switcheroo and what a scumbag! He gets the pin on sable and sings her out of the stadium. I feel like they should’ve done a little more with this match… or at least the post match angle.
The next match is apparently a “bonus match”? What does that even mean… I know what it means they didn’t have the roster right now for a full ppv so they booked this match in the middle as filler. But to be fair I have really enjoyed the light heavyweight Japanese wrestling recently so let’s see what they can do.
I actually enjoyed seeing Bradshaw just demolish multiple people half his size and taka did well but something about this match I really didn’t enjoy. It didn’t really flow well it felt random there was no story the crowd wasn’t into it… just not really a great viewing experience. Bradshaw was out over kinda here as he demolished the opponents but his team still lost…? I don’t know. But this first half of the ppv has really not been good.
Farooq comes to the ring and the rocks music plays multiple times before sgt slaughter comes to the ring to tell us that the rock has to compete or he will be stripped of the belt. There’s a countdown and rock just about beats the count making his way to the ring with a brace around his neck. If this does anything it only puts the rock over even as a heel, proving he has the heart of a champion, whereas I’m pretty sure they did this to make you enjoy seeing the heel struggling. But this is the wrong way round… Farooq is baby face in this situation but he’s done the heel move and Rocky has done the baby face move. Confusing by the wwf as you route for Rocky in this situation.
Farooq starts off demolishing the rock on the outside but eventually rock makes a comeback and delivers the peoples elbow. Farooq to be fair to him has improved his in ring ability and he’s actually able to have a coherent 1v1 match now. I have no idea what happened in the middle of the match but there was a false 3 count or something? I don’t know what they were going for there but it came off very badly and just looked weird. The rock wins and gets a pop but Farooq once again is playing heel as he assaults Rocky with two piledrivers after the bell. This was just a bad match… the angle was weird the match was bad the roles were reversed I don’t know what the wwf was thinking with this one.
DX comes to the ring after the match ends to help Farooq out to a big pop and they’re clearly the biggest group in the wwf now.
We’ve got Kane vs Vader next and last time these two wrestled I really enjoyed their chemistry so I hope they can pull something good off here, this PPV really needs it as honestly it’s just been bad so far… really bad.
I don’t know what to think of this match. It was average but the slug fest was good in the middle of the match a couple of times, and vaders moonsault looked good even though it missed. The stipulation for the unmasking was an okay gimmick but since Kane won and Vader had to unmask… which we’ve seen multiple times before so it was a little pointless.
Oh man this ppv is REALLY bad so far I just don’t even have the motivation to properly dissect these matches. Vader was looking pretty slow, Kane wasn’t performing that’s well it just wasn’t that great and the crowd had no pops during the whole bout.
The whole next section was so weird… the king literally takes a hall of famers leg off and gets assaulted by a literal like 80 year old? I don’t know what on earth this was all about. I looked it up and apparently Vince was telling Lawler to do this but it just came off as mean spirited and cringe. Please DX, please do something fun and save this event.
DX is very over with the crowd as they do a little showboating and talk to the people in attendance which was good before the match. The nation then walk out to the rocks music for whatever reason.
The crowd was pretty disinterested, chanting boring at points in this match and you can’t blame them it’s been a very slow night with not a lot to get hyped about. This PPV has really shown how thin the roster can feel. We’ve had Edge promo videos recently so I’m very excited for him to come in and mix up the matches in the mid card.
I thought the match was well worked though it just dragged on a little bit too long. I thought Owen hart and Hunter looked great and it made it interesting when they were at each others throats in the match because of their feud continually going on. Road dog actually impressed me as well he took some great hits and looked clean in the ring. I really don’t enjoy The Nations reliance on rest holds, they always do it and in a 6 man tag team match during a ppv semi main event they just shouldn’t do it; tag in someone else and mix it up. The crowd did have one pop for the spiked piledrivers on top of the belt. But when the nation won the crowd absolutely went mild. They did okay and it was better than anything else we’ve seen tonight but that’s not really saying much.
If this main event doesn’t hit then this PPV I will class as an absolute STINKER!! It has to hit, with all the heat between McMahon and Austin at the moment it just has to be interesting at the very least.
I didn’t realise that pat jerry and McMahon were all involved as officials for this match all playing roles to screw over Austin. The odds are completely stacked against Austin. We get a brilliant promo video really hyping up this main event and okay I’m back alive now I have faith that this match will save the event from being a failure. I will note though they seriously need to improve the mid card matches.
It was a great idea to have the ring announcers read from cards, it portrays that they’re just bigging themselves up to levels they don’t deserve, a great small detail to put themselves over as the heel “team”. They all get a huge round of boos as they are announced and brought to the ring, I can’t wait for the Austin pop. People REALLY don’t like Vince here as he’s got drinks and trash being thrown at him in the ring. Dude love is up next as the corporate version of his character, and I think it’s a combo that works really well. THIS IS GREAT WWF MORE OF THIS!! I applaud them for stretching this out as long as possible this is the right type of hype and buildup that works well. The ring announcer pat did a great job introducing everyone to the ring and refusing to introduce stone cold. The glass shatters and the crowd loses it, everyone is ready for Austin to open a can of whoop ass on all these fools, and I’m excited for the first time during this ppv. ALL OF A SUDDEN UNDERTAKERS MUSIC PLAYS AND YES! YES YES! I’m so glad he’s involved in this ppv in some way I had no clue he was going to be here. He will act as a “protector of the peace” kind of character here and make sure no shenanigans goes down. Great work. Would’ve liked to see him actually wrestle though 😒.
The match is underway and after Vince breaks Austin off foley he flips McMahon off for a MASSIVE pop from the audience. They continue to wrestle and it’s just getting going when the crowd chants “Vince is gay”, brilliant. Austin then takes foleys teeth out and stamps on them, complete disrespect. Austin takes a great looking bump on the steel steps as they both make their way to the outside of the ring as undertaker looks on. Just him being there improves the match even more. Austin takes another hard bump from an Irish whip to the corner and foley is in control during the early goings of this match. The crowd is thunderous right now having the JR and Lawler needing to shout to be heard.
Austin is thrown over the Spanish commentator table (this always makes me laugh as it’s ALWAYS them that people get thrown into) and it’s announced that this is a NO DQ match. Just brilliant stuff. Austin gets back in control though just demolishing foley by throwing him into the timekeepers area, over the barrier and he plays to the crowd in the middle of the audience, this was an amazing visual. It’s so impressive how Austin can have these matches even with his neck injury and knee troubles that he’s had. It’s then announced that falls count anywhere and there’s just less and less regulation as we go on, this could get really chaotic and I’m all here for it!
Austin is thrown on top of a car hood and foleys laying in some damage but Austin hot shots foley into another car. They’re making use of the creative set getting on top of one of the cars but foley throws Austin face first across another of the cars. Foley sunset flips off a car to a close 2 and a half kick out. This back and forth is f***ing brilliant.
Austin’s been busted open as foley assaults him with a metal pipe but Austin comes back with a flurry of right hands. But foley once again counters hitting him with two suplexes on the concrete floor but still Austin manages to kick out. Foley goes to drop an elbow from the top of a car but Austin rolls out of the way. McMahon slow counts but foley kicks out and Vince is intimidated by undertaker watching on closely. They make their way back to the ring and foley has exposed the turnbuckle after brisco trips Austin up and foley gets a chance to lay in some damage again. Foley hits Austin with a clean looking running knee and throws him into the exposed turnbuckle again, to which foley locks in a chin hold and we get a shot reminiscent of WM13 with hart and Austin. Patterson hands foley a chair and he hits Austin with a massive shot to the back, and a DDT on top of the chair but Austin continues to kick out.
The crowd is electric for this match as Austin counters with a kick to the face while foley holds a chair up, Austin then hits the chair on the ropes hitting himself in the face which was really funny. Foley hits McMahon with a chair, Austin hits a stunner, another ref comes down, brisco drags him out, undertaker drags brisco out, he hits him with a choke slam, he hits Patterson with a choke slam, Austin with another stunner and Austin uses McMahons arm to count himself and retain the title.
I couldn’t even keep up with the ending to that match that was pure insanity! It’s a car wreck in and out of the ring as the undertaker and Austin share a respectful look at each other and Austin celebrates in the ring after overcoming the odds. The crowd absolutely loved that match and so did I. By far match of the night, BY FAR. They absolutely knocked it out of the park, pure entertainment from bell to bell including before the match even started with Patterson and brisco. This also sets up some other potential matches in the wwf off this main event as I’m assuming dude love won’t get another chance at the title. A fantastic main event that exceeded expectations for me.
Overall this event is not worth watching at all, except for the main event. The main event seriously saved this ppv from being a complete failure, the crowd were bored and disinterested and even booed and chanted boring during the semi main event. Skip absolutely everything and just watch the main event because it was really good. This should be a message to the wwf that the mid card is really lacking any proper star power and I’m assuming at some point this year they will bolster their roster to improve this.
Irrespective of the main event I can’t give this ppv over 2 as the mid card was so unbelievably weak.
Overall rating 2/5

2024.06.02 16:36 meganwrites_ About to start treatment w/ concerns about sequence and care team. Do I need to know my root cause? Long history; just diagnosed at 36
Just diagnosed with methane and GI ordered the Xifaxan + neomycin combo. While I'm waiting on those to be filled, I've been thinking. Is it wise to jump into treatment without knowing the root cause? Without knowing food sensitivities? Without a care team who knows my history? Or should I just go forward with this treatment that's finally here after at least 4 years of dismissal and suffering without a diagnosis?
I'm at such a point of low trust in healthcare, I'm feeling on edge about next steps.
Some additional context about my care team:
- IMO diagnosis came after a breath test following two 20-minute appointments with a GI nurse practitioner who had SIBO herself with a root cause of food poisoning. She ordered and I did an endoscopy, colonoscopy and ultrasound which ruled out other stuff. In my initial appointment, I told her I may have had food poisoning. But the more I read about SIBO, I'm not sure that was my particular cause (said it bc I suspected SIBO and wanted to be taken seriously). She sent me the prescription instructions via patient portal and we don't have a follow-up appointment until late August. Seems rather cold, at best, and risky, at worst.
- A dietitian who happens to have functional medicine training did a GI effects stool test and says my results of high inflammation and dysbiosis suggest I have leaky gut and/or food sensitivities. She wants to do a low-FODMAP based elimination and re-introduction with me over about 6 weeks. I've done just one week of low-FODMAP to reduce symptoms. She says we'll pause for GI's plan to have me eat more normally while on antibiotics.
- I started paying out of pocket for a new integrative primary care doctor who doesn't take insurance before I knew I had SIBO. Now come to find out, he doesn't seem to have much experience with it. Didn't expect me to test positive and has not done a thorough, proactive evaluation of my health history. I wanted someone to give me true primary care and take the lead on managing my case and give me a roadmap for a treatment plan.
Is it too much to expect that just any GI or primary care doctor will effectively manage a SIBO case? My sense from this subreddit is yes, but asking to get clarity.
I have a phone consult with a doctor a few hours away from me who specializes in SIBO. Wondering if I should become his patient and let him guide me through a more clear, methodical roadmap and streamline my care through his team?
Not expecting anyone to diagnose my root cause here lol, but wanting to share the overview of my history in case it makes a difference for the questions above. Also, I'm curious about others' similiar symptoms/experiences and hope maybe it can help someone to read mine.
Health history and symptoms:
- I'm a 36-year-old woman. 5'10" and I only weigh 113 pounds right now (lost about ten pounds in this current flare but was previously 120ish). I've struggled to gain weight my entire life.
- Seemingly healthy childhood but possible unaddressed dairy issues
- I wasn't breastfed, my mom said the dairy formula didn't work either and I had to have a soy formula. In childhood I was never tested for lactose intolerance, the story was just that I "didn't like milk but cheese and ice cream were fine". I continued to eat the latter two and always prided myself on being open to eating anything.
- I was diagnosed with depression at age 8 and did antidepressants on/off through my early 20s. Otherwise always was told I'm very healthy (despite never really feeling that healthy or energetic).
- I had a doctor suggest IBS while I was studying abroad in London at age 20 (which sadly I didn't take seriously), and then migraines with aura started at age 21, then rosacea at age 22. Frequent UTIs and antibiotics throughout my 20s. Allergic to two antibiotics now. Hemorrhoids started in mid-20s. At 32 (when the pandemic started in 2020), I had my first "flare", two simultaneous problems at the time diagnosed as:
- another "UTI" after sex despite negative test results, got 3 rounds of antibiotics for possible kidney infection
- symptoms of "GERD": loss of appetite, globus, burping, food sitting in belly for hours, gas, bloating, abdominal pain, back pain
- Since that first flare brought on by stress of the pandemic and possible unwanted pregnancy, I've experienced:
- 2 other major flares (lasting 4ish months each)
- 2023: conflict with live-in boyfriend leading to break up - sensation of slowing motility/early satiation followed by constipation followed by intense pelvic pressure and bloating plus frequent urination. resolved after months and getting myself into pelvic floor PT.
- 2024: intense work stress paired with delayed period/fear of pregnancy with new boyfriend of 2 months followed by constipation, dry scaly hands, followed sensation of slowing motility/early satiation with intense stomach gurgling/churning, food sitting in belly for hours, burping and varied acid reflux symptoms including globus, excess saliva, throat bubbles with any food/water or change of position, back pain, dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis), red eyes
- on/off symptoms / notable findings in last 4 years:
- tingling/random brusing in fingers, random itchy rashes kinda like hives, random vibrating feeling in lower abdomen, nerve pain/twitching in inner groin, eye, and leg
- more headaches during menstration
- loved cilantro historically, but on/off tastes like soap (especially during major flare)
- gum inflammation I can't seem to resolve with improved brushing/flossing, etc.
- inflamed cervix on pap smear
- cloudy urine
- A1C1 near prediabetes level
- vitamin deficiencies (D and B12) - had to request my own tests
- on my home scale, my BMR was always 3-4 years below my current age but now it's 2 years above my current age
- All 3 major flares were times I was eating LOTS of fibefodmaps thinking I was helping my health
- Other notable things:
- I have a PT who believes I might have hEDS even though I don't meet the diagnostic criteria
- I had a pap smear in 2019 that showed HPV positive for high-risk strain; 2024 pap smear showed clear
- May have developed orthorexia after the first flare and trying to heal myself with food. Might have also struggled with eating enough calories on/off in life due to stress and feeling full early in meals throughout my life.

2024.06.02 16:11 Important_Power4443 Being included in cis male banter/flirting at work
I work on a bar, last time I worked on a bar was years ago when I was still in denial about being a transman. It's wild to me how casually cis men touch each other. Obviously the bar can get packed and we don't have much room to move behind it so it can be a squeeze when busy. And everyone is constantly moving trying to get orders done.
One guy accidentally elbowed me in the shoulder and then grabbed me and rubbed my shoulder for me with a quick sorry. Same for anytime I've accidently bumped into one of the guys. When they walk past me I often get a pat on the shoulder or back. If I'm in the way its always a hand on the shoulder, waist or back and sometimes a gentle push. When one of my supervisors (we're all in our 20s but I'm at least 4 years younger than most my coworkers) is talking to me I'll have an arm round my shoulder or somehow they are grabbing me. If I'm pulling a pint and they also need the same tap they'll put their hand on top of mine and we joke flirt. Then there's the classic shadow boxing or fake fighting that happens. They will even consenually slap each other on the ass every now and then but that's rare.
Only the guys are this touchy with each other. They're still friendly with the girls we work with but they never include them like this. We have pet names, we fake flirt and when on shift I'm often being casually touched by my male coworkers. I don't mind the physical contact, honestly it's just nice being included and seen as a man. Being in this environment again as a man compared to how I was treated when I was socially seen as a woman has been a head spin for sure.
