Just bought a 1978 Toyota Pickup Sunrader with a pitiful 20r that can barely get this camper to 50mph. I’m a Honda/subaru guy and know those engines way better. Anyone heard of someone doing a K-Swap on one of these trucks? Can’t seem to find anything on it.

2022.03.25 17:09 reddelicious49 1983 Sunrader Update

Good morning Hivemind, Just a quick update on my Sunrader project.
Project name: Millennial Falcon
I think I found somebody that will strip the 22R engine and rebuild it. I don't know a whole lot about rebuilding engines and I don't know how rough it was treated before I bought it. So I'm hoping a shop that specializes in older Toyota engines can give me the details and get it ready for the next 95k miles I've gutted most of the interior and vacuumed out most of the rat nests and raisinets with the help of a lot of watebleach spraying.
Questions:

What are some good resources for replacement windows, gaskets, showetoilet units, etc?
I want to reinforce the fiberglass shell with a box steel endoskeleton. What type, thickness, etc. Should I use? Also, can I get away with using my Chicago Electric gasless mig welder or do I need to step it up?
How hard is it to find a replacement showetoilet set up? This thing is pretty gross and if I can completely gut it and give it new bones, I will.

I am shopping around for cushy comfy seats for my 86 Toyota sunrader and am leaning towards the rally seat by procascat. In velour material, sounds fun and I like the texture. I have some lg1 corbeau seats in my chevelle and those are way to firm, the suede is nice though. The rally seats look like they have a lot more cushiness to them. What seats do you all recommend otherwise? I’d have to buy from somewhere that would have the bracket as well I’m not going to be messing around with all that headache of trying to retrofit something. It needs to show up at my house in a box ready to bolt in.

2021.09.24 03:15 MikeFromIraq What kind of solar panels should I put on my 21 ft 1985 Toyota Sunrader?

I’m going to be living in the camper full time for the next year or so and I just have no idea what kind of panels I should buy. I don’t think I’ll be using a ridiculous amount of power as even now the only devices I use pretty consistently in my house is my phone and my guitar amp/pedal. Still I’d rather have more power than I’d use and not need it, than need it and not have it.
