I was wondering for the last few days if chat gpt is basically just a wonderful natural language search engine and not really even partly intelligent in any particularly interesting way. Pondering a way to test this out I decided well if a reasonably intelligent person had as much distilled human knowledge as this model does, perhaps it can come up with a new idea when directed to with a narrow focus. Breakthroughs are often made when a smart thinker manages to join together previously disparate fields. Ok this isn’t a very good test of the above plan but my question to chat gpt 4o was this: given its wide awareness of everything, what as yet unwritten biography might be a smash hit.
Can you predict the answers? in retrospect they are obvious. But also banal

1. Satoshi Nakamoto.

I responded that this was impossible until his/her identity was known. (also there is no surety if they are unmasked their biography would qualify as fascinating except to crypto bros).

I responded that there is already a biography of Tim Berners-Lee (not a particularly popular one). I suspect chat gpt 4 already “knows” this.

My response was there are several biographies of him already. Although not complete, I do not think a new one is particularly great an idea.

At this point I gave up. Apart from being very uninteresting ideas they are also extremely us internet online focussed. Almost reddit brained. It must have been trained on more than enough data to know of a famous person with a fascinating life not yet put together in book form. It’s not even a hard question for something with all the data.
So at this point my working theory that chat gpt is still just a very slick natural language query tool for summarizing mainstream groupthink (in fact a slanted online forum type of groupthink), theory remains intact. There are no novel ideas in groupthink. By definition.
Is there a better way of probing whether it can make new interesting associations that are outside the realm of median human textual replies? In other words, if it can use the terabytes of text to actually draw insightful new connections.

So masculinity rocks. So does femininity. But how do ya'll feel about this new-age femininity? Everyone knows new-age feminism has gone to some man-hating extremes (here's a radfem admitting to it) and it's finally getting much needed ridicule/pushback. But I think it's overall transformed so much and there's so many different types of feminists that aren't even on agreement with each other.
I think there are three main mutations of femininity that modernity has spawned:

1. The aggressive, career-focused, boss-lady type of woman who is argumentative and is adamant on not compromising because that is seen as weak. Essentially she is in constant denunciation of traditional femininity. She tries hard to convince folks she's not masculine but acts like it all the time. She thinks men are insecure and are afraid of her when in reality many are just turned off by her greater-than-thou attitude. Even men more successful than her.
2. Trans women that are trying to strip femininity down to a collection of different behaviors and functions that can be torn apart and sown together (birther, bleeder, uterus owner, etc.). The most extreme mutation and so far the first to fizzle out.
3. Lastly you have the uber-feminine women who are constantly in the process of out-feminizing the competition by excessive displays of femininity. Make-up, plastic surgery, tight-fitting clothes and endless selfies promoting their looks (insta-models, E-girls, OF fans)

All of these women give off a palpable deep-seated insecurity that is just manifesting itself in different ways. You don't notice it until you start putting each type of woman right next to a level-headed traditional woman. Of course you can be attracted to any of them for any reasons and that's cool.
BUUUT....it's Okay to be traditionally feminine and be comfortable with it. In fact we NEED it. Those women are the typically the type that get selected to become mothers and raise the next generation of men AND women. If women like masculine men, they need to be feminine cuz that's what masculine men like. It's just so simple it's stupid.
All I'm saying is, there is a real crisis of traditional femininity and that needs to be talked about more. Right?

I posted my very pretty, very flat chart a few weeks ago. Then I thought AF arrived. Temp dropped but not below cover line, RHR went down, etc. But usually I’m done and spotting by CD5 but on CD7 I still had light bleeding. I woke up with night sweats and bizarre dreams, I realised my RHR had gone back up, my HRV had gone down, and my temp was still above cover line, so I figured I’d test and well. Here we are. First squinter test on CD 32 and a solid BFP on CD 34.
I’m guarding my heart because with those BD timings, either FF is right and somehow miraculously we managed to get pregnant on O-6 or FF is wrong, I ovulated earlier and therefore must have implanted late... I’ve got my doctors appointment booked for next week and I’m keeping an eye on possible ectopic symptoms as well, especially after the bleeding, but today I am pregnant and I just needed to share :)

There are so many thoughts racing around my head right now with this positive test, thank god this subreddit exists. I found out this morning I am pregnant with my second, but I am only 9 months postpartum following a c-section (which wasn't planned). I suspected this might be the case as my supply dropped this past week significantly (from pumping 7oz at night to 4oz, I BF the rest of the time). There is SO much pressure to breastfeed for a year and I am so close to reaching that milestone but my supply took a huge tank and what I have frozen is over 6 months old.
I feel so bad that I wasn't more careful and my daughter will be robbed of the attention she would've gotten by herself in her first few years of life. Then the other half of me is ready for the challenge, knowing this time will pass, and that someday they'll be so close. I'm sure these feelings are normal, but it sucks that as much as I want to be excited for baby #2, I feel overwhelmed with all the what ifs.
A big worry of mine stems from the emergency c-section I had with my first. It was due to fetal distress (cord wrapped around her neck) but I also had pre-eclampsia that started while I was in labor as well as uterine atony (uncontrolled bleeding where I was moments from getting a transfusion while in surgery). I'm worried all these conditions are going to impact this baby or result in preterm delivery. My first was born right at 40 weeks, but I'm seeing everywhere online that getting pregnant again so soon increases those pre-term chances.
Any words of encouragement are appreciated. All I really want is to worry a little less and enjoy these next few months with my daughter before we become a family of 4.
