I know it's a bit of a meme on this sub to complain about the other sub. That said, they seem to be frothing at the mouth over there. And I don't understand it. I feel that, due to how the enemies are the same on all difficulties, if enemy TTK is lowered universally by sweeping changes it could quickly make the game far too easy. Potentially necessiting higher difficulties, which would IMHO ironically lead to more complaints. So, gots to try to avoid that doing that explicitely, whilst acknowledging my motivation, that a discussion is more difficult there due that "I want a power fantasy horde shooter" syndrome.
I think TTK is not where the game's flaws lay, that certainly player vs enemy without backup from allies does result in TTK being high, painfully high but the answer lies in improving communication tools and incentivising staying with the group. I also think they should allow trading 250 commons or 100 rares for a super sample.
Almost every gameplay complaint can be solved with "stay near each other, if not possible (or not effective) lower the difficulty". IMHO, lowering TTK will cater to the common denominator player and deviate from the developer vision which attracted me to HD2 (mainly being a HD1 player).
I have no doubt that helldivers 2's intended audience probably makes up less than 10% of the playerbase (on sales, not MAUs), analogus to aiming for those that play roguelikes and who wouldn't refund GTFO. Those that appreciate overcoming adversity and go into a game not expecting victory.
However, I feel that in most cases people that complain about the game[play] aren't aware that information gaps (gained by playing) are often far more damaging to fun than "skill issue". Such as how most people seem to gear for being able to deal with everything solo, and then play as 4 teams of 1 instead of 1 team of 4.
The devs have repeatedly said that helldiver strength is multiplicative and the challenge lies in enemy variety not individual enemy strength.
As and example, the most hated enemies, hunters, spewers, berskers and shield devastators, are all very easily countered by very simple tactics, it's the same tactic for all of them. If you see them attacking your allies, attack them, if you see them attacking you, point them out to your allies. While that is difficult to do with randoms and requires playing a lower difficulties to mitigate, I find that well coordinated teams in close proximity make the game, played as I believe the devs intended, un-difficult.
Dropships are another example, if you gear for shooting them down, and then shoot them down late, it's no surprise you can't deal with the drops. I believe allowing them to be shot down is a masterful misdirect by AH because only the most highest skill ceiling players should be doing that because if you have the capability to do it you likely don't have the strategems do deal with the results of failing to shoot them down.
Oh dear, did this turn into a rant? I just don't want to see the strategic teamplay game I love made into a horde shooter.
Anyway, if you got this far, I'm not complaining about the complainers. But I do think AH listening to them could make the game too easy for those people playing the game as AH appears to intend, as though it was a 3d helldivers 1.

Starting on Friday, May 17 - Current: My city had a massive storm the previous night and over a million people lost power. I mindlessly eat a gummy bear with my right side and immediately feel pain and the intense, throbbing pain continues for over the next 24+ hours. Desperate because my dentist office, which is normally open on Saturdays, hasn't gotten power back so they're closed. I make a telehealth appointment to just get an antibiotic prescribed (I still had leftover Ibuprofen). Very briefly explain issue to that doc who prescribes me an antibiotic but when I pick it up from store, I realize it's Clindamycin - so not the same as the Amoxicillin that I previously had (see timeline below).
The Clindamycin was prescribed to take it the same way though (3x/day) so I take the first one almost immediately and by that night, I was getting really nervous because it didn't have the almost immediate relief I had gotten previously. I fall asleep watching a movie, and when I wake up like an hour later, I'm shocked that the pain is pretty much gone but my jaw is really tight and hard to fully extend open. Prior to this nap, I was in a lot of pain but had no problem opening my jaw at all.
Since then, the pain has remained little to none with the help of regular store-bought Ibuprofen but I can only open my jaw to where there is maybe a 1inch gap between my top/bottom teeth. I've basically been living off of smoothies and soup. While it's not really visible, I can feel like a swollen ball/mass under my jaw where that right molar is, and it's somewhat sensitive to the touch if I really put any pressure on it.
The dentist office regained electricity yesterday (Tuesday) and I was ready to get the other root canal same day, and they could fit me in, but after going in person to speak to them and show them the issue with opening my jaw, they told me we'd have to reschedule (which I suspected). I told the dentist working that day (not my normal one) about my previous/recent root canal on the left side of my mouth (see timeline below) and she seemed a little perplexed. She said it wouldn't be completely unheard of for the muscle to atrophy but only if it was on the same side as the previous root canal. But the issue is occurring on the right-hand side.
I never in my life thought I'd be begging for a root canal but here I am - and I can't get it done until I figure out why I can't open my jaw, and frankly, I'm freaking out. I'm thankful that the pain isn't return but each morning I wake up hoping there's any improvement on the range of motion and there isn't. We're at 3+ days now. To make matters even more intense, I'm supposed to be leaving for a week long vacation this Saturday that has been scheduled for over a year for a family celebration.
Please help point me in the right direction of questions I should ask, experts I should go to, remedies to attempt, anything. Money is really tight because I lost my job at the start of April, but insight and direction are my main goals here. ___
All of the details of the lead-up that occurred in the 2-months prior to the issue I'm having now (in case this helps in any way in the problem/solution):
Saturday, March 23: I cracked my back bottom molar (left side) which resulted in extreme pain & swelling. I went to the dentist that was open on Saturday, got my scans, and was told it would need a root canal or extraction. I was sent home with prescriptions for Amoxicillin & 600mg Ibuprofen and was feeling so much better within hours. At that same appointment, I was also told then that my second-furthest-back bottom molar (right side) would need a root canal but funds were tight and the issue at hand was the cracked one on the left. I did also get a second opinion from a very highly regarded dentist who agreed with the options given - unfortunately, it just would have cost way too much to get it done at this place.
Saturday, April 20: I put off for almost a month due to a lot of dental anxiety and financial stress, I finally went in to get it done at the same place I had the initial 3/23 appointment. I had I was surprised to be told by the dentist as he was clearly "finishing up" that they actually weren't able to complete it because my canal(s)? was too narrow. He said he did something to hopefully help widen them and I can come back in a week and assuming the canal widened, he would complete. In the meantime, he put a temporary filling (I think is what he called it). This appointment, from the start of administering the numbing, was probably only a little over an hour long.No issues or pain occurred between these appointments this time
Monday, April 29: Go back in to complete the procedure and I guess the canals were able to do what they needed to do so procedure went on as planned ... until putting the round metal thing around my tooth to build up the crown. It must've been over 15 attempts and with the numbness wearing off + my TMJ + the pulling on my lip/cheek to get the better angle, we had to call it quits. Another temporary filling or something and I walked out in tears of frustration.In between these appointments, on Friday, the other side of my mouth began to start hurting. I contacted the dentist, and while my normal one doesn't work Fridays, the one that was suggested the nerves might be inflamed and prescribed a steroid-pack. After taking the first day's dose, the pain completely went and stayed away.
Tuesday, May 7: I go in and things actually get done. I think they put the numbing into a few more areas which helped them access where they needed to easier. As is normal practice at this dentist, a temporary crown was placed.
(I'm a non-smoker and very little alcohol consumption)

I injured my ankle at work at a shipyard in February 2023. Torn ligaments and cartilage. I had surgery in May 2023 to repair the ligaments, followed by a second surgery in December to remove scar tissue that was hindering my range of motion. I’m in a lot more pain now than I was prior to the second surgery in December. The orthopedic surgeon who performed both surgeries refuses another ultrasound or MRI and tells me this I have improved as much as possible and she will not see me anymore.
She referred me to get a FCE and impairment rating at my last appointment, but also wrote a note that I am to return to work with no restrictions. Because of this my workers comp adjuster has stopped paying me, but has scheduled the FCE for late June. My adjuster says they agree with the doctor that I won’t get any better despite being in more pain than I was in the past, and they refuse to send me for a second opinion and they are telling me that I am stuck with the doctor that I picked to perform the surgeries.
Can I call the Longshore District Director and plead my case and get approved for a second opinion appointment?
I also don’t understand how I can be scheduled for FCE and impairment rating, but also released to full duty with no restrictions. If I was to return to work and aggravate the injury I would lose my claim with the current injury completely and have no chance at getting a settlement from my current comp claim. They have offered me a settlement to make it go away but I feel like it’s a terrible offer and they won’t negotiate it any higher.

The one I own is clearly marked as made in Sweden, while other examples I found online is marked with Austria, Japan, USA, USSR, and elsewhere.
Every invention is an attempt to solve a problem. But the problem Ferdinand tried to solve wasn’t to sharpen the blade per se – it was to sharpen it better. To quote:

In known grinding devices of this type, the movement between the razor blade and the grinding agent which is necessary for the grinding is generally only rectilinear and of a definite type of stroke, regardless of whether it is parallel, inclined or perpendicular to the edge and whether a grindstone or grinding rolls are used. However, this type of grinding favors the production on the sides of the edge of the blade of grooves which make it difficult or even impossible to obtain a complete grinding of the sides of the edge. The grinding, moreover, results in subjecting the blades to an injurious bending stress.

So according to Ferdinand, the problem with other razor blade sharpeners were that they were grinding in a linear back and forth motion. The solution, he claimed, would be to move the blade in a circular motion. And while other sharpeners did that, Ferdinand claimed they put a bending motion on the blade.
The solution Ferdinand came up with, and Simens manufactured, was a box with a string. You put your blade in the box, closed the lid, and pulled the string. And when you opened the box, your blade was sharper.

Inside the box is where the magic happened. As can be seen from the drawings, there are a few things going on.
In one half of the box you have three gear wheels with pulleys. The two outermost ones have eccentric spindles. The string is wrapped around the pulleys.
On either side of these gearwheels are two spring loaded grinding members, set at an angle. A matching set of two grinding members are set in the opposite lid as well.
As can be seen, the blade is placed on the spindles. Once the box is closed, the grinding elements are pressed against the blade sides. And when the string is pulled, it rotates the gears, which in turn moves the blade in a circle.
Or as Ferdinand put it in the patent text:

When the razor blade is positioned on the carrier pins 18 and the device is closed, the blade prevents the inter-engagement of opposing grinding teeth and, under the opposite but equal spring forces constituting the grinding pressure, is accurately positioned centrally of the gap formed between the two halves of the casing by the collars on the guide pins I I when the grinding members on both sides are not overlapped by the razor blade to the same extent (see Figure 2).
If now the somewhat tensioned operating cord 11 is pulled from side to side, or, in the case where the cord is stationary, the grinding device itself is reciprocated along the cord, the razor blade will execute a curvilinear movement in its own plane.

There is, of course, a few differences between the device as patented, and the device as built. The big one is in the shape and position of the grinding members. I was told that das Perfekt will use either sein or haben to describe an even in the past where sein is typically used for sentences describing motion or a change in state for example:
Sie ist leider gestorbt
Or
Ich habe es getrunken
Alot of the examples use sein or haben so I don't really understand in which cases I would select das präterium over das perfekt I think I must be confused

This is just a gushpost for the Wild tunic and a change of pace to its usual discussion being a few whispers about how dumb the shorts look.
I'll start with the shorts, because I think they're a bit misunderstood. Also take this from the perspective of someone who has TRIED mixing the tunic and cap with some alternate dyed Hylian Trousers (brown and white) and found it didn't compliment the outfit that well. Same goes for the Trousers of the Hero, those reeeeally short ones that are hidden by the Tunic hem.
These shorts just work for me, and I've put it down to a couple reasons. The most important one is just keeping the proportions in check. I think the Hero outfit gets away with short shorts because it contrasts well with the super long sleeves on the tunic, but they decided to roll those sleeves up for Wild Link. With shorts, it instead opts for proportional lengths between visible skin on his arms and legs. This gives his movement a really satisfying look (ever heard someone say "it looks better in motion"?) and ensures you know exactly where his arms and legs are at all times.
Another is that they just feel realistic. I tend to see Wild era Link as a hiker first and foremost, so seeing him in what are essentially cargo shorts adds a layer of realism that doesn't stray too far from the fantasy look.
I'll get to the other pieces of the outfit, but I hope I've sort of made a case as to why the shorts aren't the worst thing in the world, and you can at least see why they were chosen over full length or short short Trousers.
Working our way up, we come to the tunic itself. It uses the belts and design of the Champions tunic quite a bit, feeling rugged but a bit more laid back. It keeps that square geometric pattern on the sleeves, a fun premonition for Rauru's arm. Speaking of which, because of the arm proportions I mentioned earlier I actually think the outfit looks better in BoTW than Tears because Rauru's dark arm can be a bit distracting. At least the orange bangles blend into the sleeve, making it almost look like a gauntlet.
Overall the tunic is a modernization of Classic Link, giving it some modern flourishes like a cross belt while still not straying too far from what made the original special.
The cap is also interesting, because the art design team has gone on record saying it's been hard to make Link's hat look cool since the jump to 3D. Similar to Sonic's spiky back, it was a big challenge to make it look appealing from all angles, and Zelda team tried tons of approaches. For TP, they made it long and dynamic, which imo is the best direction to go and is kind of mirrored in the Hylian Hood's cloak. In SS, they thought maybe shortening it would make it feel more realistic, but it ended up making SS Link's already bottom heavy design even more opish imo.
Wild era's Link takes the TP approach by giving him a very long cap, reaching between the shoulder blades. Not quite as long as TP's, but reasonably long. It's size and length just suit the rest of Link's proportions PERFECTLY. Seriously even if you dislike the bottom two pieces, I feel like most people can agree the cap is just perfect. Probably the best one in the series by a landslide.
So, all of this waffling is to say - this tunic had been done DIRTY by the fanbase and I can understand why, but as someone who prefers classic Link's more laid back appearance I think the Wild tunic is the best, most honest and well designed outfit in the series. Maybe the Champion's Leathers is tied with it. Maybe.
OH I forgot to mention I love how they included a subtle color shift on his Cap's trim, similar to the yellow stripes on his classic hat.

I have some jobs I post up and recently I keep getting bait and switched by freelancers. I post a job and the freelancer puts in their bid around the mid to upper mid level of the range, so its all good, its within my budget a mix of quality and expertise, and they obviously feel thats a fair bid to put in so we interview go through the motions, and thats it, I send over the contract.
However what I am noticing is that we keep getting people that switch up on us and ask for more. This has happened before the contract is accepted (which is fine I guess) but it also happens after they take the contract. All of a sudden they say its not enough or its unfair.
I'll give 2 real life case examples and would love your opinions on what you think.
Case 1:
I had one case where somebody after the interview, and agreed upon contract was sent wanted to jack up the prices by 66% but said they were willing to take 33% instead to keep the contract, problem was the contract was agreed upon was already sent as that was their bid and that's what we said we could pay. They claimed they had contracts on their end in that range already but I looked at their profile and we were basically paying more or above what they were getting already on average. I chalk this up to a negotiation tactic I guess, and since there was no contract signed I assume that its fine to change your mind as a freelancer albeit annoying on the client side for times sake and sort of ruins it for all the other prospects we may have wanted to hire instead.
Case 2:
Same as above except a contract is actually signed and agreed upon, no extra parameters added or anything like that, but the freelancer then says they want more money in order to complete the project, that its too low and they will complete the project for the budget they agreed upon but they still want more. Puts it in a position where if I take a hard stance on the contract I don't know if they will actually do it properly or they will only half bake it until the end and push for more for completion because of the sunken cost, not sure if this is some sort of long term play that would negatively affect the project because now as a client I feel like I don't want to deal with a person that switches up like this, and of course we could have hired somebody else this entire time.
I will add we have amazing freelancers we work with, we never really ran in to any problems like this before. Renegotiations happen down the line we are used to that. So I am just wanting to add that to say its not every freelancer but we are finding this a problem more often. Wanting your opinions on how to handle this type of situation.

So wasn’t a huge fan of Mulberry Close. And after sleeping on it, it’s because the twist only works because the writers deliberately obscure information from us and frame things in odd manners.
Firstly: The whole gimmick is it’s filmed on a door bell cam. This only records when it detects motion. We’re watching this, now I understand we’re not watching everything, we don’t need 7 shots of the postman or everytime a car drives by, we’re only watching relevant shots.
In that case why aren’t we shown the wife leaving for her sisters?
Logically we should be (we see her return) but we aren’t- because if we did it would ruin the potential mystery of whether or not he’s murdered her. But creating this intrigue betrays the entire gimmick.
Also, the whole thing is based on the already questionable decision to break apart a futon with a chainsaw indoors. What I don’t believe is that he then decides to put the futon into suitcases. Bin bags are more readily available and more malleable. Of course we know why- they wanted to make it look like a body. Even though the reality is absurd.
The twist only works because Reece and Steve lie to us. I’m sure there are other episodes that do this (devil of Christmas maybe) but none is as egregious as this.

THIS HAS OCCURRED IN ILLINOIS
So as the title states last year on Christmas eve I got into a fight with an individual who I know stole from me. but I have no proof for the police, as the police weren't able to do anything about this incident I confronted this said individual myself. I confronted the individual while he was taking a walk in his own neighborhood that my friend also lives in. they live 2 blocks away from each other and this fight broke out in the middle between both of their houses
During the confrontation a fight broke out. The fight was between me and the individual and that was all. My friend was in the background watching the fight as it occurred. This is where the issue begins.
The individual I was in the fight with claims that my friend involved himself in our fight. This is untrue though.
After the fight I went home and the police showed up at my house about half an hour later. This is where I got a Disorderly conduct charge through the village I live in. I was never charged criminally as I never had to go to jail nor court for this matter. I only got a summons to the Town hall in order to explain my case. During this town hall hearing I just pled liable for the fight as I wanted this whole situation to be over with. I thought that was going to be the end of it. but now this is where things get interesting.
The individual who I was against in the fight has put in motion a no contact order against my friend for potential harassment with his main complaint being he was involved during the fight. The individual has not come or gone after me legally in any way since as I've had no contact with the individual since the fight.
My friend's lawyer is asking me to show up as a witness during the no contact order hearing so that I could corroborate that My friend didn't involve himself in the fight. This is where I'm asking for advice and where I have mixed feelings about what I should do. because on one hand I wanna help my friend out but at the same time I don't want to involve myself in this legal matter unless I absolutely need to. I feel like if I do go to court with my friend and say that it was just me who was involved in the fight it opens up a whole door for the individual to come after me for possible personal injury or anything else in that type of matter.
There was a police statement taken from the individual who I was against in the fight and from my friend the night of the fight. I was never able to give a statement as the cops never asked me for one. In the Statements the individual states we both fought him and in my friend's statement he states that it was just me in the fight and that the individual swung on me first. I'm hoping that between me being the only one with any type of charge, the police report and the statements from that night will be enough for my friend to fight off the claim that he was involved in our fight.
my main question is just if I go as a witness and state that I was the only one involved in the fight does it give the individual more room to sue me for any potential matter

I have basically depending on the health issue either giving up trying to find answers or gaslighting myself into thinking it is likely just my mental health. Yesterday I had an echocardiogram. The cardio at my original vist didn't say it was my mental directly but said he didn't think anything was wrong I had multiple other people who thought ot was just my mental health but encouraged me to get assessed just in case. The echocardiogram came back with Abnormal septal motion, mild mitral valve regurgitation, and mild Tricuspid regurgitation and when looking into symptoms of it I have nearly all of them exept for swelling and fainting. If I hadn't been having noticeable symptoms and found it accidentally I likely wouldn't panic as much. But I am having multiple symptoms ever day. I'm used to it but it's awful. I'm trying to get into the cardiologist sooner but likely can't until july. And I'm panicked because the reason the cardio did the referral was because of family history of congenital heart disease. I want answers to whether this is heart valve disease I basically didn't understand the rest of the info I got back. So also worried that the this could be congenital heart failure. I've been having symptoms for years and just never really thought of them as Abnormal or worry some until 2022. Where I didn't get a referral until last year and do to a multitude of issues wasn't able to get to an appointment for cardio until april 18th. I had a holter moniter that had the Abnormal hr that my primary ordered and didn't think anything wrong and had to insist on a referral. Which was January 8th through 10th. Just want to be told on what I can do to mange this in the mean time and what to expect my cardio to possibly do to treat when I get into him. Do I need to eat less salt? That would be really hard for me as I eat a lot of salt. My blood sugars have always been well maintained but I drink and eat a lot of sugar do I need to consume less sugar? I do have eating issues so do I absolutely have to eat less processed food. If I did that I likely wouldn't be able to consume enough calories to maintain my weight which is what I want. I have a problem with pacing and often get 3 to 10 thousand steps a day Is that enough because I have chronic pain issues and that already worsens pain. The pacing is very likely do to mental health but can fluctuating hr cause a portion of that? I could imagine that it would likely take an awful toll of my metal health issues (Bipolar, panic, anxiety, paronia, ptsd issues, ocd).
Anways this has been a ramble I just want help figuring this out.
