Was watching this movie and heard this tune. It's from a song called Love is Blue by Paul Mauriat. It was however originally composed in 1967 as a French song titled L'amour est Bleu by Andre Popp.
There's an old Telugu movie called Chitti Chellelu and in the movie there's a song called Ee Reyyi Thiyyanidi, this song was was remade in Pawan Kalyan's movie Johnny. While the older song sounds similar to the French song, the one in Johnny sounds similar to Love is Blue.

2024.05.23 08:39 MediocreAd8628 How religious is Nepal?ㅤㅤ

I wanted to ask this question to fellow Hindu and Buddhist people in Nepal. I know almost 80% of people in Nepal are hindus. There are temples in every nook and cranny of Kathmandu. Similarly, some people inside Kathmandu valley follow buddhism and hinduism. I've seen almost all people (including youths) visiting temples, worshipping (atleast touching the Gods' murthis (Statue/ idols translated from Telugu) and touching their forehead). But how well versed are Nepalis in Hindu scriptures? Bhagvad Gita is quite popular so many might have read it but how about Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads? Similarly, how many buddhists have actually read Tripitaka or practiced some sort of meditation?

Ps. I just wanted to learn more about Nepal from the Nepali people. I belong to Telangana (state of southern India) and I visited Kathmandu about a month ago and I was surprised from the spirituality of Kathmandu. I was delighted to see many temples in almost every junction of Kathmandu and people worshipping. Besides, the concept of touching the God's murti connected me with the God (unlike in Kerala, we aren't allowed to touch Murtis). I can't wait to visit Nepal again and this time to Mukthinath.

2024.05.22 20:23 nunsickle42 Ok a point to be made on language.

A native Bengalurean. Born here , stayed here , travelled a bit. Across countries and also states. I am from the community which do kaarga here. So we speak a language not many know. It's a mix of Tamil Telugu. Nobody knows how it formed but it is probably due to the fact we were nomads looking for work some hundred of years ago. I guess all my family members are multilingual. In Tamil Telugu and kannada. And we have opted kannada as a primary language for reading and writing and still speak a bit of Tamil at home. But we are proud kannadigas. So I imagine this kaarga history dates back 100s of years ago. Maybe during tippu sultan time.
Also I have many friends around me whose mother tongue is either Tamil, Telugu , marati ,at home. Even knew a person who spoke malayam at home. But we all converse and have a laugh in kannada. So that's the beauty of migration. I guess their families migrated for better life to the city. Maybe a bank job , business etc etc.
I am making this post especially after some guy randomly commented that kannada and other languages will die cause Hindi English will prevail eventually.
I guess not sherlock. The migration thing has been happening for a long time to Bengaluru. There are many house holds whose mother tongue would be different yet they all speak in kannada in public with their friends. This kind of bilingual or multilingual population can only be found here.
Many of the Tamil and telugu speaking communities can be found in Bengaluru where they have assimilated into our local culture and tradition.
The assumption of the people coming to Bengaluru now is that they are the ones running the show. It's because of these Hindi speaking population that migrated here , we are getting this prosperity , infrastructure, rent etc is ridiculous.
Tbh the IT boom has been a curse. The earlier migration that came assimilated and contributed to the local governance, local culture etc. What I am seeing now is this IT migration crowd have little patience in even understanding the local culture , people , language etc. That's why these scuffles are happening. So please spare us this lecture about being tolerant to outsiders. This city has been nothing but beautiful in accepting people who have accepted it. Hell this entire sub was made due to the toxicity of the outsiders who complain as if it's their entitlement to have Bengaluru for their own.
The city has got rapid growth with people coming from everywhere. Even from different parts of Karnataka.
Everyone take a chill pill. Try to assimilate, learn , observe and apply some critical thinking. Social media has ruined the fabric of society. Some random cab uncle having a bad day with a entitled guy 🤦 makes the entire south India racist on a social forum.
All we native Bengalureans ask is please enjoy our city. Don't bad mouth it. If you like it , learn the local culture and language, it will always welcome you. If you don't want to stay and help. Make that quick buck and get out of here without complaining.
Go please develop your cities. One city cannot handle the migration. Invest in your tier 2 3 cities. So that we can stop hearing this complaints.
Also to the Bengalureans , stop responding in Hindi . If you want to see kannada to be used more. Use Hindi minimally. The older generation used kannada which made the migrants learn kannada. Until unless you push for it. It is what it is. Naavu mutaldru , navvu badlagi swalpa nadru nam bashe uddara madbeku. Kannada content consume Maadi. Kannada books thogoli, kannada matte upyogsanna. Maybe even kannada written in English for starters. Sumne eeetara online jagla aadi prayojna illa.
ಅಷ್ಟೇ
Edit : made this post after having enough about people complaining about the city. It was just random rage. I see ppl disagreeing about how some are tourists or here for few weeks. We don't expect them to learn kannada we will speak in Hindi. Help them out. This post is for those who stay and bitch about the city continuously with their entitlement to receive everything and yet they don't vote or involve in the cities development. Like how can banks expect my dad to speak in Hindi to get his work done. What nonsense is that ? Outsiders won't understand how annoying it is with their attitude on how the city is bad. The problem is due to the rapid migration. If you keep coming these politicians will just keep exploiting.
Copy pasting a TDLR someone wrote. Thanks for that man.
TDLR: TLDR: OP is from Tamil-Telugu amalgamation language speaking community and is multilingual. Believes local languages will not die because of Hindi-English speaking communities because people who migrated Bengaluru adapted and learnt Kannada. OP suggests migrants to develop their own tier 2&3 cities to not have to migrate to Bengaluru . Op suggests the locals use minimal Hindi so as to force the migrants to learn Kannada and suggests they do so by whatever means necessary.

2024.05.22 14:41 _PearsonSpecterLitt_ Learning Telugu as a Kannada speaker

Hi everyone, I’m really interested in learning to speak and understand Telugu to interact with friends and folks in Hyderabad. I can speak Kannada and Tulu and am hoping some grammar rules/words might be easier for me to pick up. Are there any resources for Kannada speakers trying to learn to speak Telugu. PS: Can’t read/write Kannada, so English transliteration would be helpful.

2024.05.22 10:48 telephonecompany 300 Indians Riot at Jinbei 4 Scam Compound in Sihanoukville, Cambodia

300 Indians Riot at Jinbei 4 Scam Compound in Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Indian media has reported that approximately 300 Indian nationals, primarily from Andhra and West Bengal were involved in a large-scale revolt against their handlers at the Jinbei 4 scam compound in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Initial reports started pouring in on May 20th and 21st through social media, where a Chinese reporter tweeted videos of the riot or protest taking place on a basketball court inside the Jinbei 4 compound. [link]
These individuals were reportedly lured with promises of lucrative data entry jobs but found themselves coerced into participating in cyber scams managed by Chinese handlers. The Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh has confirmed that 60 individuals have sought help and have been evacuated from the compound.
This incident raises significant concerns about the conditions within these compounds, the nature of the revolt, and the broader geopolitical implications.

Key Facts
  1. Evacuation and Repatriation: The Indian Embassy has confirmed the evacuation of 60 Indian nationals from Jinbei 4. These individuals were transported from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh for repatriation assistance. The embassy has established a temporary control room in Sihanoukville, operational from May 21-23, 2024, to aid those in need.
  2. Human Trafficking Network: Media reports have detailed that victims were promised legitimate employment but were instead forced into executing cyber scams targeting Indian citizens. Their passports were confiscated, and they faced torture and threats if they did not comply.
  3. Role of Indian Managers: Based on my interactions with individuals familiar with this industry, it is understood that the Chinese Triads employ an elaborate setup within these compounds. The Chinese managers take a hands-off approach regarding the scammers and instead employ a layer of Indian middle managers to manage the "worker bees" through a combination of sweet-talk, bribes, and coercion.
  4. Reports of Inter-Group Rivalry: A local government-aligned reporter, Leng Bunny, mentioned that the incident might have been an inter-group rivalry among Indians. This aligns with the understanding that Indian managers play a critical role in controlling the workers, which may have led to internal conflicts. [See tweet by another reporter quoting Leng Bunny]
  5. Social Media Evidence: Videos posted on platforms such as TwitteX show protesters demanding the return of their passports, highlighting their desire to return home and the severe conditions they faced. [See also tweets by: CyberScamMonitor, Uma Sudhir]
Indian Embassy's Actions
The Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh has acted surprisingly quickly and responsibly in this situation. Several posts on the Embassy’s Facebook and social media accounts provide additional context:
Indian Embassy in Cambodia on X: Ambassador Devyani Khobragade had a productive discussion with Sihanoukville authorities, thanking the Sihanoukville Commissioner for rescuing Indian nationals and requesting continued cooperation. The Cambodian police assured the Ambassador of their full support\" (posted 18 hours ago)
  • Ambassador's Discussions: Ambassador devyani_K had a productive discussion with Sihanoukville authorities. She thanked SHV Commissioner for rescuing nationals & requested continued cooperation on such matters. The police assured the Ambassador of their full support.
  • Positive Cooperation: A positive example of cooperation to protect our citizens. indembcam officials met 58 nationals rescued from alleged scam operations in Sihanoukville. Thanks police for extending full support in rescuing and repatriating our citizens
  • Rescue and Assistance: 60 nationals have been rescued by the Embassy in cooperation with Sihanoukville(SHV)authority. These nationals, victims of fraudulent employment, were sent from SHV to PhnomPenh today. Embassy is assisting with travel documents & other arrangements for their early return home.
Analysis and Questions
The incident raises several critical questions:
  • Current Status of the Remaining Individuals: With only 60 individuals confirmed evacuated, the status of the remaining 240 who reportedly participated in the revolt remains unclear. Are they still in the compound, and are they in danger? Have some moved to other compounds, or are they willingly staying under certain conditions?
  • Inter-Group Rivalry Amongst Indians: The potential for inter-group rivalry among Indian workers and managers warrants further investigation. Understanding these internal dynamics could provide valuable insights into the operations of such scam compounds.
  • Geopolitical Implications: The involvement of Indian nationals in Chinese-operated scam compounds in Cambodia highlights the complex interplay of human trafficking, cybercrime, and international relations. The active role of the Indian Embassy and Cambodian authorities underscores the necessity of a multifaceted approach to address such issues.
Conclusion
This incident starkly highlights the grim realities of human trafficking and cybercrime. It emphasizes the need for robust international cooperation and stringent measures to protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation. The evolving situation requires close monitoring and a concerted effort from all stakeholders to ensure the safety and repatriation of the affected individuals.

2024.05.22 06:53 hairymitochondria Where are the Women in Malayalam Cinema?

An industry that is at an all time box office high, has an embarrassingly less amount of female characters in its films and even lesser r the ones that r decently written and have some substance. And this isn't limited to on screen. Behind the camera, the situation is worse. Rumoured to be very unsafe environments for women, female technicians r close to none. Imagine the plethora of diverse storytelling lost.
Across our films, one would have to cherry pick female characters that matter.
An industry that claims to want to diversify its stories and its genres not feeling the need to go beyond the lens of straight men seems redundant. Evidently, different social groups provide different stories to be told with different treatments. There is scope for braver and more honest cinema and I hope we take it.
PS: Look at the 1st Indian film in 30 years that has made it to the Cannes competition
PS 2: Yall dont talk about progressive cinema and being the most relevant industry in the country if talk of diversifying ur stories and going beyond a set redundant lense becomes a question of why and makes u so salty 🤪.
Picking an example here and there doesnt help. Like imagine if it was the opposite. Oh, the 2nd AD of this this film was a man. Atleast Telugu cinema doesnt claim to be a beacon of progress.

2024.05.22 02:52 tr1ppyz3phyr The Fall Guy is what Ram Charan's Brucelee should've been

Watched The Fall Guy movie last night. It was a fun watch. After watching the movie felt like this is what the story of Ram charan's Brucelee movie should have been. It would have worked so well in telugu. Even now it's not too late. If Ram Charan ever wants to do a quickie remake between his pan India movies, he should consider doing this movie. This will work well as a pan Indian movie too and Ram Charan is apt for the role no second thought.
Those who haven't watched this movie yet, do check it out.

If it is a native Telugu word, then I think it probably comes from the roots in DEDR 3675.
