Hey there! Just seeing if anyone has any possible insight on this piece! I bought this for $1 at a rummage sale a few months ago. Ended up taking this and a few other items I had that I thought could possibly be made with silver- so I took them to local pawn shop to have them XRF'd. Turns out this item is 10k gold! Definitely my best $1 thrift in that case!
Anyways, I thought it was a cigarette case of some sort, though my friend thinks that this was used for lipstick(hence the push-pin piece that de-attaches, and the other two areas would hold some type of makeup or something? She also thinks this is for holding lipstick / makeup of some sort, because the small wafer of metal that de-attaches could be used as a mirror(I can confirm that it is indeed reflective / mirror like!).
Anyways, many thanks in advance! :-)

🔗Stylish Manual Recliner Chair in Kale Green

https://preview.redd.it/tz8dm6w8v32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aeeaa159b99d16561470d2ee3575c79156ddf83a
I recently purchased the Leni Manual Recliner in Kale Green Polyester, and I can't help but rave about it. As a product reviewer, I've seen my fair share of recliners, but this one really stands out. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed with its craftsmanship. The wood detailing on the legs is just beautiful, and the dark espresso finish adds a sleek touch to my living room.
The comfort level of this chair is top-notch. The polyester fiber and foam filling with sinuous springs provide just the right amount of cushioning without compromising on support. Plus, the fact that you can recline the chair by simply pushing back is a huge plus. No levers or buttons required!
However, there are some minor drawbacks. The fabric does seem a bit thin, and I'm worried about how well it will hold up over time. Additionally, the recliner only has two positions - upright with legs up or fully lying down. While this might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, I wish there were more options in between.
In terms of assembly, it couldn't be easier. The back just slides into a bracket, and that's it! No tools needed.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the Leni Manual Recliner. It's comfortable, stylish, and easy to use. If you're on the market for a new recliner, I'd highly recommend giving this one a try.

🔗Aisley Swivel Reclining Glider, Comfortable and Attractive

https://preview.redd.it/4d6gyo49v32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8bfdeeeefd50ed4acabc56c11bbb53d7779f5e7a
I recently got my hands on the Mack & Milo Aisley Swivel Reclining Glider in Gray, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my nursery. This glider is the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, making those late-night feedings a lot more bearable.
First things first, the reclining mechanism is an absolute lifesaver. It's hidden between the seat and armrest, making it easily accessible yet out of sight. And let me tell you, finding the perfect angle for relaxation has never been easier. Simply pull on the mechanism, and let go when you reach your desired position. Ah, bliss!
The leg rest is padded, ensuring that your legs are well-supported and comfortable even after hours of sitting. Plus, the enclosed ball bearing mechanism allows for both a rotating swivel function and a smooth gliding motion - talk about convenience!
In terms of style, the square silhouette, track arm design, and welt trim detail add a touch of elegance to this glider. With various colors to choose from, you're sure to find one that complements your nursery decor.
Now, let's talk about the pros and cons. On the positive side, this glider is incredibly comfortable, easy to assemble, and well-made. It's also quite durable, which is essential when it comes to nursery furniture. However, there are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning.
First off, the reclining mechanism doesn't have an intermediate position, making it either fully upright or completely reclined. Additionally, getting in and out of the chair while the leg rest is up can be a bit cumbersome, especially if you're holding a baby.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with how well the Mack & Milo Aisley Swivel Reclining Glider performs in real-life scenarios. While there are some minor inconveniences, they are easily outweighed by the countless hours of comfort and support it provides. So if you're on the market for a glider that is both stylish and practical, this one might just be worth considering.

I recently got the chance to try out this Wide Swivel Arm Chair in Saddle Brown Faux Leather, and I can't say enough good things about it. As soon as I sat down, I noticed how comfortable the cushions are - a perfect blend of firmness and softness. The 360-degree swivel mechanism is a game-changer, offering a seamless transition between different sitting positions.
One of the highlights of this chair is its versatility. The minimalist design complements any space, making it suitable for use in living rooms, offices, bedrooms, or entryways. I especially love how it reminds me of the clean lines and squared arms of 20th-century modernism, giving my home a touch of retro charm without overpowering the rest of the decor.
However, despite its many positive attributes, there are a few areas where this chair could improve. Firstly, the lower profile might not be comfortable for taller individuals, as mentioned by some reviewers. Additionally, although the faux leather looks great, it might not last as long as genuine leather.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a comfortable and stylish seat that doesn't take up too much space, this Wide Swivel Arm Chair in Saddle Brown Faux Leather is an excellent choice. Its high-quality construction, versatile design, and comfy cushions make it a worthwhile investment. Just keep in mind its size constraints and the durability of the faux leather.

🔗Blue Button-Tufted Living Room Accent Chair

Huimo's Accent Button-Tufted Fabric Chair is my go-to for relaxing in my cozy reading nook. It's not just another piece of furniture; it's an invitation to unwind and escape into your favorite book or movie. The high-density and high-resilient native sponge cushioning provide hours of unparalleled comfort, while the stylish linen fabric covers ensure your sitting area stays fashionable and functional.
This chair's adaptability makes it an excellent addition to any living room, bedroom, or office space. Its sleek design and unisex color blends seamlessly with a variety of decors, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to add a touch of modernity to their home.
While assembly is slightly lengthy due to a lack of instructions, the overall process is straightforward and can be done within a reasonable timeframe. The only visible inconvenience is the silver screws that hold the legs, which could be a little distracting but don't detract from the chair's overall appeal.
All in all, the Huimo Accent Button-Tufted Fabric Chair is an exceptional buy for anyone seeking a comfortable, stylish, and versatile seating option. For me, it has been a welcome addition to my small apartment, offering both style and comfort in equal measure.

🔗Elegant Modern Velvet Accent Chair for Living Room

I recently added the Yyao Velvet Accent Chair to my living room, and I couldn't be happier! Its modern, sleek design and stylish gray color perfectly complement my existing furniture. The curved lines and high-quality velvet upholstery add a contemporary touch to the space.
One of my favorite features is how comfortable it is. The foam and elastic band cushioning make this armchair feel like sitting on a cloud. I've spent hours lounging in it, and it's never failed to provide unparalleled relaxation.
Another notable aspect is its versatility. The chair's size is just right for small spaces, making it ideal for apartments or cozy nooks. Its neutral color allows it to seamlessly blend with any existing color scheme. Plus, the metal legs give the chair a subtle industrial twist that adds character to any room.
However, one small issue I encountered is that the legs are not adjustable. If your floor isn't perfectly level, the chair can wobble slightly. Adding rubber pads to the end of the legs would greatly improve stability and prevent scratches on hardwood floors.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my Yyao Velvet Accent Chair purchase. Its blend of comfort, style, and practicality make it a perfect addition to any living space. If you're looking for a high-quality, stylish accent chair, this one is definitely worth considering!

🔗Spacious and Comfortable Swivel Armchair (Set of 2)

I recently added a pair of these Armetta swivel armchairs to my living room, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The 34" width provides ample space for lounging or engaging in conversations, while the poly-blend boucle-like fabric feels incredibly soft and luxurious. The swivel feature is a game-changer, allowing me to easily move and face different areas of the room without having to get up.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the taupe color blends seamlessly with my existing decor, adding a touch of cozy elegance to the space. While I was initially concerned that the chairs might take up too much room, their compact size has proven to be a non-issue.
However, it's worth mentioning that the cushions are quite firm, which may not be to everyone's taste. Additionally, some users have suggested that the seat depth could be slightly deeper for optimal comfort. Despite this, the overall quality and design of these swivel armchairs make them a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking to elevate their home's ambiance.

🔗Beautiful Drew Cream Chairs for Small Spaces

Over the past two weeks, I've been testing out the Beautiful Drew Chair by Drew Barrymore in cream. This stylish oversized boucle swivel accent chair has been the center of attention in my living room. Its plush, fabric upholstery is not only comfortable but also adds a touch of elegance to my space.
One feature that stood out to me was the 360-degree swivel base. It's perfect for directing your attention wherever you need it most - whether that's while enjoying a book or engaging in conversation with friends. The cream tones of the chair also compliment various home decor styles, allowing it to blend seamlessly into my interior design.
However, there are some cons to consider as well. Assembly was a bit challenging as it is a heavy piece and required assistance from another person. Additionally, the low profile design might not be ideal for individuals with knee or mobility issues.
In conclusion, the Beautiful Drew Chair by Drew Barrymore is a beautiful addition to any living space. Its unique design, swivel feature, and comfortable seating make it an excellent choice for those looking to add a touch of elegance to their home. However, keep in mind that assembly can be challenging and this may not be the most comfortable option for everyone.

🔗Cozy Armchair with Reef Pattern

Once I settled into my new apartment, I knew I needed something cozy and stylish to complete the look of my living room. That's when I discovered this 38-inch Kaycee Polyester Armchair from Beachcrest Home.
The moment I saw it online, I was instantly captivated by its beachy vibe and beautiful run reef pattern in beige and blue. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to assemble. Its timeless appearance, featuring four slightly tapered legs and a solid plus engineered wood frame, adds a touch of tradition to any space.
One of the features that stood out the most to me was its sinuous spring construction. It provides ample support while still maintaining that relaxed, beachy feel that I love. Plus, the polyester upholstery is not only comfortable but also resistant to water and stains, which is a godsend for someone with a pet-friendly home like mine.
However, I did notice that the cushion could be a bit softer right out of the box. But based on others’ reviews, I'm hopeful that it will soften up over time as I continue to use it. Overall, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase and feel it's the perfect addition to my home.

🔗Cozy Boucle Swivel Armchair

As soon as I walked into my living room and saw the Arijit Swivel Armchair, I knew it was a game-changer. This little chair packs a big punch of style and comfort. The poly-blend boucle-like fabric is not only visually stunning but also incredibly soft to the touch, making it my go-to spot for relaxation.
One of my favorite things about this armchair is its 360° swivel feature. It's so convenient when I want to turn around and reach for something without having to stand up. Plus, the compact size makes it perfect for smaller spaces without sacrificing on comfort.
However, there have been a few minor drawbacks. For example, the seat cushion is a little firm for my taste, but I understand that some people might prefer it that way. Also, the provided pillow could use an upgrade; it's not very comfortable, so I replaced it with a larger, softer one.
Despite these minor cons, the Arijit Swivel Armchair has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of furniture. Its combination of style, comfort, and convenience makes it the perfect addition to any home.

🔗Elegant Tufted Genuine Leather Armchair

https://preview.redd.it/mcaf16tcv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bce92ea7ac0db9821586a2029af51e714f5a3500
I recently purchased the Clark Armchair for my living room, and it has been a game-changer. Its mid-century silhouette perfectly complements my existing decor, making it an attractive focal point in the space. The genuine top grain leather upholstery feels luxurious to the touch, and the button tufting adds a touch of elegance. I'm particularly impressed with the sinuous spring support and foam-filled seat cushions, which provide just the right amount of firmness for comfortable sitting.
However, the chair isn't without its flaws. I found the assembly process slightly challenging, but with some patience and a little help from a friend, we managed to get it done. Additionally, the chair's size might be too large for some smaller living spaces, so make sure to measure the dimensions before purchasing.
Overall, I'm thrilled with my new Clark Armchair. Its combination of comfort, style, and durability makes it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to upgrade their living space.

🔗Comfortable Mercury Row Armchair for Small Spaces

I recently had the chance to try out a stylish yet comfortable tufted armchair from Mercury Row, and I'm happy to share my experience with you. This armchair features a boxy silhouette with plenty of padding, perfect for those days when you just want to sit back and relax. The engineered wood frame rests on four flared, tapered dowel legs, giving it a mid-century modern feel. The light brown finish adds warmth and charm to any space.
The rest of the accent chair is wrapped in solid-toned 100% polyester, providing both style and durability. The foam-filled seat with spring construction ensures just the right amount of support, while the low-profile rounded arms and subtle tufting add a touch of elegance. Assembly is a breeze, simply attach the legs and you're good to go.
I've been using this armchair in my living room, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots to unwind. The padding is incredibly comfortable, and the sturdy construction gives me peace of mind knowing it can withstand daily use. Plus, the yellow color brightens up the space and adds a pop of color.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the assembly process, while straightforward, does require some effort (though not tools). Second, the seat cushion cannot be removed, so if it gets dirty, you'll need to spot clean it. Lastly, the overall size of the chair is quite compact, which is great for small spaces but may not be the best fit for taller individuals.
Overall, I've been very happy with this tufted armchair from Mercury Row. Its comfortable design and mid-century modern aesthetic make it a stylish addition to any room. If you're looking for a cozy accent chair that won't break the bank, this might be just what you need.

Buyer's Guide

Comfort is key when choosing the right chair for your small space. Look for ergonomic designs that offer support and cushioning in strategic places such as the back and seat. Make sure the chair has a comfortable and adjustable height so you can sit at the right level for work or relaxation.

Size Considerations

Choose a chair that fits both your body size and the dimensions of your space. Consider the chair's overall measurements, including the backrest, seat width, and seating depth. It's important to have enough room to move around comfortably without feeling cramped.

Consider Your Lifestyle

Think about how you'll be using your new chair. If you plan to sit in it for long stretches, opt for a comfortable, supportive design. For those with limited mobility, look for features like swiveling bases or easy-to-use levers for height adjustment. ### Material Matters
Choose materials that are durable and easy to clean. Upholstery fabrics like microfiber or leather can withstand regular use and wipe down easily. Metal or wood frames are sturdy and can add character to your space.

For small spaces, look for materials that are easy to clean and maintain, such as microfiber, leather, or faux leather. These materials are also resistant to stains, fade-resistant, and often have a longer lifespan than other materials.

3. Do I need a special type of chair to fit a small space?

While there's no specific "small space" chair, there are certain characteristics that make a chair ideal for small spaces. Chairs that double as storage options, like an ottoman, can also be beneficial in small rooms.

Has anyone used this saw before? I’m curious if it is pleasant to use. There’s one for sale locally to me and it looks very cool with the sliding table attachment.
I currently have a Laguna F2 and I’m not super happy with it.

Gardena auto-retract Hose Reels - two 30m models? Here is the difference.
I'm posting this for those thinking of getting one of these auto-retract Gardena Hose Reels. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to Canada, but as it's an international brand, perhaps this is common in other regions. In Canada, Gardena sells two versions of their hose reels (8055-44 and 18625-20). Both are 30m/100ft, auto-retract, and are featured on their website (both current products). I struggled to find the difference between the two other than one listed Frost Protection. When I Googled it, people reviewing even used their photos interchangeably.
When I contacted Gardena, I found out there was more to it. Their reply was:
The 8055-44 hose is made for Italy but casing is made in China - Grey in colour The 18625-20 hose is made in Italy but casing is made in Germany - Turquoise / grey in colour 8055-44 - no frost protection 18625-20 has frost protect. But, please see above instruction for end of season. Frost protection is only center core. The reel must be drained before first sign of frost.
On top of that Home Depot sells one labelled 18625-80. They explained:
Yes it is the same. the dash at the end only represents the area and supplier
The funny thing is, they are not that different in price. 8055 sells for $299 (although CanadianTire does have sales -20%) and 18625 sells through HomeDepot for $279. I ended up buying one of each as I wanted to see the difference. Although I'm not unboxing them and testing them in a full review (I'm returning the one I don't use).
The all-grey 8055 model also comes with a hose guide for corners (maybe this is why it's more expensive). In the end, I ended up keeping the 8055 as the wall bracket is much smaller (9"x4.25") than the bracket for the 18625 (13"x5.5"). I am mounting it to the side of a deck and that 13" was too tall.
8055 Model in all Grey (Made in China)
The 18625 turquoise Model I got was made in Slovenia, not Italy, but proudly states it's made in Europe (this is true). It also comes with European hose attachments and a single separate bagged "North American" adapter.
18625 European Model
Hope this helps others make a decision and happy gardening.

2024.05.23 04:24 yifanai Outdated Sewerage Service Diagram

Hi,
I appreciate your help!
This clause is the contract:
  1. DRAINAGE DIAGRAM
48.1 Pursuant to the provisions of the Conveyancing (Sale of Land) Regulation 2022 (NSW) the Vendor discloses the following to the Purchaser: (a) the sewerage service diagram and service location print currently available from Sydney Water is annexed to this Contract; and (b) there is no other diagram showing the sewerage infrastructure for the property which is available to the Vendor.
48.2 Notwithstanding clause 48.1, the Purchaser acknowledges and agrees that for the Vendor has complied with their obligations under Schedule 1(2) of the Conveyancing Sale of Land Regulation 2022 (NSW).
48.3 The Purchaser may not make any objection, requisition, or claim for compensation, rescind or terminate or seek to delay completion in respect of any matter or thing relating to the water, sewerage and drainage works that may have been installed in or carried out on the property and not shown on the drainage diagrams and sewer reference sheet attached to this Contract
For a house for sale, the Sewerage Service Diagram in the contract shows the old house (the one before being knocked down, subdivided into 2 lots, and rebuilt). Is this outdated Sewerage Service Diagram misleading information or a failure to disclose information in the contract? Can we rescind the contract in 14 days?
Thank you!

Gift vehicle from Alberta to BC.
Hello, I would like to gift my car to my child who lives in BC. I am confused as to how to fill out this portion of the required form. I purchased the used vehicle privately years ago. We do not pay PST in Alberta. Should I check off #2 - "PST after March 31, 2013", and provide the original bill of sale? There's no exemption per se, just the fact we don't have to pay the tax. Please help. Thank you.

2024.05.23 03:03 Monty87ls Lawn tractor won't start after putting mower deck on!

I have a Toro wheelhorse 17 44exl that I got with a snowblower attachment already on it. It came with the mower deck and I spent today swapping it. I started the mower and moved it so I could do the swap. Once i was done it wouldn't start! Just turns over but won't start.
I ran the battery dead, and charged it. I'm sure it's an older battery but worked all winter and even today. It was sitting for a few weeks in the same spot but started right up then stopped and the battery went dead. I hooked it up to a charger and it charged about halfway in a few hours.
Could the battery battery be the issue? Could I have done something in the swap? Any help is appreciated! Haven't mowed this season and it's really high!

2024.05.23 02:57 FabioDaPastelaria [REQUEST] [PC] Minecraft Java Edition

You've read it right, I don't have minecraft for PC, I was able to get it for 10 of my currency (2 dollars) on my phone, but I wanted to play it on PC and I don't think Curseforge (modloader) supports any unnofficial launcher, lol.
Already had official minecraft (through xbox gamepass) but it only lasted like 3 months? Yeah, about that. I absolutely loved Curseforge, you know, the mod launcher, but unnofficial minecraft launchers either don't have a "mods" tab, or have something that isn't even close to Curseforge. Wanted to buy it during the sale, but I only have half of the money, idk if it's gonna end soon, but maybe someone has some money to get it for me.
I've already had so much fun in minecraft, but can't play with my friends that have the paid version, because the servers they use simply don't allow unnofficial minecraft launchers. and that's just sad.
There are many modpacks which I simply can not find in launchers except Curseforge, and again, Curseforge is exclusive to the paid version, along with FeedTheBeast launcher, which has many cool modpacks too. Have a good night.
Since the mojang website doesn't have a chat system, I'll attach my steam account, for communication purposes.

Need STICKERS to complete your albums, but are you tired of the game’s overpriced sticker packs?🤔
✅ Guaranteed sticker ✅ No need to hope for getting the right sticker from a pack ✅ A lot of CHEAPER price compared to the game’s offer ✅ Have tons of proofs of past successful transactions.
Note: I’m not forcing anyone to buy, this is just for those willing to pay because they are tired of the game’s sticker packs. If you haven’t spent a dime playing, then good for you.

2024.05.23 02:23 boff999 Why people see car dealers as dodgy....long rant!

First-time poster, I couldn't find a valid tag sorry, and apologies for the length of this rant.
My son passed his test around 18 months ago and bought a cheap banger as his first car. It's served him well, but it is nearing the end of it's life and he's been saving hard for a newer one for the past year.
He had his heart set on a Fiesta ST-3, ideally with service history and not 100k miles. He thought he found the perfect fit at a small dealer who didn't specialise in cars but was selling a handful. 5 years old, under 40k miles with full service history....result!
The only problem was the car was 250 miles away (this was one of the closest available too!) so he wanted to have it inspected first. He asked what the deposit was and was told £1k but the car was provisionally sold. He wouldn't have paid a £1k deposit anyway, so he left it at that and went back to his search.
The dealer phoned up again a few days later and said he'd accept a £250 deposit as the prospective buyers couldn't secure finance. He asked if it was refundable, told yes verbally, and arranged payment of the deposit via BT so he could arrange the inspection. The dealer said an inspection wasn't necessary as it's like new, but my son insisted as we wouldn't see the car until it was delivered.
The following Monday the inspection happened and highlighted a few wear and tear issues such as rusty rear brake discs, worn front pads, a potentially leaking caliper and worn/cracked rear tyres, which points to bad maintenance and raises questions about the validity of the full service history, but not enough to fully discourage him.
However, the main issue was that the coolant reservoir tank was on min, and the mechanic who inspected it said it looked like it had recently been topped up with plain water as well. For me this was a red flag as it could be something as simple as a crack in the reservoir as that's quite a common on these, (although it has the round reservoir tank which isn't as suspect) but could also be leaking into the engine.
Because of this, my son didn't want to proceed and phoned the dealer to ask for a refund of the deposit the following day. The dealer was very hostile, claiming the mechanic who inspected the car was odd as well as not being a mechanic as he worked on air con systems. He added that the faults were nothing, and the coolant issue wasn't an issue as it evaporates. He also said that my son wasted his time and he wasn't getting a refund.
As all the interactions were not on the premises at all the distance selling regulations kick in and a full refund should be issued if asked for within 14 days and no reason is required as mentioned in the link below.
https://www.themotorombudsman.org/knowledge-base/deposit-distance-sale
An email was sent yesterday explaining all this, attaching a copy of the report and giving the link above also in case the dealer was unaware of the law. No contact has been received, nor a refund, so I'm giving him till Friday to refund, or I'll have to send a letter before action and proceed with a small claim online.
Bullying a teenager after they do their due diligence when looking to buy a near £14k car isn't a good look. Rant over!

Evo X ETS exhaust dimensions
Hey all. Not an Evo owner, but looking for some advice on an Evo part.
I’m in need a tailpipe assembly for a project and someone locally has an ETS catback for an Evo X for sale. Unfortunately their exhaust is in storage so I can’t just ask them, but I need the dimensions for the tip separation width and tip to flange to see if it will fit my application.
Pic attached. If anyone has or can get those dimensions I’d be very thankful. Cheers!

2024.05.22 23:08 Crafty_Lady1961 I’m a disabled woman in her 60’s who travels sometimes with a service dog (plane and/or car) around the US and Europe asking for recommendations on bag

Hi everyone, I have an autoimmune disease called rheumatoid arthritis that has affected my hands, wrist, feet’s and ankles. I love to travel but find it more difficult as my disease has progressed and now that I’m widowed and traveling alone.
Since I have issues with my hands I have found backpacks easier for me when traveling but I just borrowed a no name one from one of my kids. I use compression cubes and usually pack the following:
I pack light with a capsule wardrobe. On the plane I wear my good sneakers, thin wool joggers, long sleeve top thin, wool hoodie (always cold). I pack orthotics sandals, 5 underwear, 2 bras, 5 socks, 2 tanks, 3 tees, 2 overshirts, 1 tank dress, leggings, silk shawl, packable hat. I have 1 small bag for liquids which includes cosmetic (mascara and lipstick for me lol) and shampoo and conditioner plus an additional bag for medical liquids and another bag for electrical stuff. Phone and iPad too.
What size bag will I need? I generally travel for a week without a washing machine or a month with. I ship dog food to my destination and attach most of his needs to his vest and duffle.
I see a CALPAK Terra 26LLaptop duffle backpack on sale. Is this grass for my needs?

2024.05.22 21:10 RebelMineCommand Sony and the inevitable death of the game they caused

We keep losing players and major orders because of the loss in players 1) the number of people who can actually play no matter how much they want to went down DRASTICALLY after the number of countries the game can be played in went down 2) people who were upset and had steam refund there game when the PSN stuff was announced and could have gotten the game back I am pretty sure started over from level 1 again 3) a lot of people just stopped playing the game even if there in a country that can still buy the game. Maybe they don’t care enough about coming back at all because they hate Sony or just moved on to other games or just refunded it and didn’t want to start at level 1 again 4) some people who can still play the game won’t until it’s back up world wide even if it’s available in there country. 5) some people are just fed up with Sony to the point that for them on moral grounds there just not gunna play anything attached to Sony anymore at all. 6) some people who thought the game being relisted in those countries was inevitable and gunna vision might now be saying I don’t think it’s ever gunna happen so I’m going to out of principle because I hate Sony for doing that so much now delete my game and not play it again. 7) some people may have been playing the game with some of there friends and there in a country that allows the game to be bought but now there friend isn’t. They were playing with there friend now they cannot play with there friend and so now they don’t want to play the game anymore. It’s unlikely that this is many players but it’s still probably at least a handful of people and a scenario/outcome we cannot ignore.
It sucks it really dose but for all these reasons and probably more Sony fucked with the player base and did this to us. They fucked with us and they destroyed there own game. The PSN linking requirements got a lot of people to leave and never come back I don’t care that they never went through with it just it’s announcement got a lot of people to leave and never come back. The fact that they STILL like a month or 2 later (when did this start again?) have it delisted in SO many countries means that so many people won’t play it till it’s relisted or can’t play it till it is outright. It’s dumbfounded and baffling that they would limit the number of countries that can buy or download the game much less there most successful game of all time! I get doing stuff when you wanted PSN requirements but they undid it. Sony are either the biggest assholes of all time or the most stupid of all time. It literally just makes you more money and gets you better press to have it available on more countries as that means more people buy it and less negative press for making it not available for no reason. So either there the most stupid company and don’t understand everyone who is saying it would get them better press and more sales of the game to have it available in more countries developers and fans alike or they just think we’re lying. Or there the biggest assholes of all time saying they want this game many even payed for it we can’t outright stop the game so how can we not outright stop the game but intentionally fuck with so so many people because were assholes and enjoy that I know let’s delist it from a tone of countries only keeping it up on so few! I like to believe that it’s the first one but at this point it’s really hard not to believe it’s not! What I do know for sure is that because we will keep falling major orders and because it’s not available in so many other countries Sony singlehandedly destroyed there best game and more and more people will stop playing causing more and more major orders failed causing more and more people to leave the only way not to have that happen is to relist it in every delisted country otherwise Sony will be witnessing the slow and painful inevitable death of there most successful game. They pretty much nuked it overnight and destroyed it kickstarting the slow painful inevitable death of the game that’s only getting faster and faster and less likely to avert total death the longer the game is delisted in those countries and even if it is still saved when they or if they at this point bring in back in those other countries the more permanent damage that will have happened and the less total players and people who will play it and buy it in total the longer they wait to relist it in those countries. Sony what are you doing? Are you fucking stupid? Or are you fucking assholes? The entire game’s development team and player base dose not want this game to die and has been SCREAMING at you to relist it in those countries WHAT ARE YOU DOING SONY AND WHY IS THE GAME STILL DELISTED?! NO ONE WANTS THIS GAME TO DIE AND IT WILL IF YOU DO NOT RELIST IT IN THOSE COUNTRIES SONY! OH NY GOSH THERE IS NO VALID EXCUSE WHATSOEVER YOU COULD GIVE FOR NOT RELISTING THE GAME IN THOSE COUNTRIES DO IT NOW SONY RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND NO EXCUSES DO IT RIGHT NOW THIS VERY SECOND SONY!!!

2024.05.22 19:42 genericusername1904 PHYSIOLOGICAL DISPOSITIONS IN THE WORKPLACE – PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR A COMPANY OWNER AND A MANAGER TO OBEY, TAKING A MORE ACTIVE ROLE IN THE HIRING AND TRAINING PROCESS OF NEW HIRES, “TURN THAT RADIATOR OFF!” AND LETHARGY AND THE LOSS OF CAPACITY

NON, VIII. I, ID. MAIORES. MAR INVIC.

Salve legionaris proconsularis,
I will not say I am “returned” from my little holiday just yet since I haven’t quite found the disposition myself to do justice to those various subjects where we left off with them – however God forbid Chrysippus goes without writing his thousand lines a day.
Anyway, after chatting about hiring and training with a colleague and as we came to some interesting conclusions I thought I’d reiterate that conversation on what seems to me to have been a major impasse in the last decade which has no end in sight but which is well within the means of a middle manager to actually do something about. Long gone are the days when I might share this as a monograph through an EO with three hundred people and be paid five hundred local currency chitties per copy, so I share it here for nothing; as I have often said: if you want the world to know about a thing you don’t hide it away and demand money for it to be seen, that is ridiculous. Anyway, given that most people I encounter with an interest in Stoicism tend to be at or above or near this level in their work – at the very least being in a position where they can influence and decide on the all important hiring and training – it ‘seems’ fitting to publish here.
So let us get to the points; I would think a manager or company owner might simply read this as if I were talking about their company – we might save time by taking this approach to the text here.
What is really required in the first place is for the middle management itself to be hired on the basis on having the right disposition for the nature of the work and expressly informed as to what they will be doing from one hour to the next in a structured manner; this is simply absent in management to an astounding degree that unless really you happen by chance to find someone who does have that right disposition, i.e. who doesn’t mind “going the extra mile (all the time)”, then you will just end up with the same lethargic types doing the same type of things and a year will pass with no change whatsoever; haemorrhaging staff and clients and all at vast expense in material, manpower and reputation of the company.
I think what it boils down to with disposition is that matter of ‘actual culture’, i.e. habits, temperament, familiarity, and so on, simply: what comes naturally to a person. A poor culture within a workplace which is lethargic will crush those of a better disposition as gradually they conform to the mean. Immediately at that point then we must realize that it comes down a tug of a war between the two types of culture; the lethargic person does not want to exert themselves at great pain to meet the higher standard of what comes naturally to a person with a better culture, e.g. one will happily work without thanks paying meticulous attention to detail to do what is necessary and the other will demand a pay rise (forgetting that a manager ‘already’ gets higher pay) before lifting a finger – and would anyway be utterly incapable of meeting the same standard themselves. We are not talking here about competition or about trying to raise the one to meet the standard of the other; it is simply my observation that there is no point to continuing to employ a person who does not already demonstrate that higher standard in their disposition already.
We are talking here about management and it is management from which all good things and all bad things follow from; a new employee at the most junior position or at the highest position will conform to the prevailing standard and take their habits from their boss, it is really that simple (this is not even a secret I think since this was openly admitted years ago as to the preference of hiring very young people who were more malleable in this regard). So that middle managers or senior managers or coordinators or persons in charge anyway of hiring and training are the best situated persons to “lead by example” – we are not talking here about merely a sunny disposition but an attentive and meticulous disposition; it is this which is the most vital disposition and which any company or organization must begin to inculcate amongst their people since capable hands can remedy anything whilst to incapable hands a minor disturbance is taken as a major crisis.
As I said, it is a matter of culture. Partly I think the problem is that in “our society (i mean here the west)” we tend to shy away from realizing the influence we have over our people and the manner in which we shape them whether we desire to or not. The “hands off” attitude of “cool” management is not really a “nice thing” since it avoids shaping the personnel when they ‘can’ be shaped and thusly guarantees that very harsh cropping and cutting of the haphazardly formed personnel; i.e. personnel who were not selected properly, will occur later; typically in the form of disciplinaries and firings – if the employee has not simply quit.
In fact: in many ways the catastrophically high turnover rates in contemporary companies lend themselves to performing a complete overhaul of personnel at any given time, meaning that we can begin whenever you’re ready since you are going to lose people by the end of the month and you can decide, at your leisure to begin to do earn your pay by weighing in on the interview process and taking a more active role in the training of the next lot.
The way to look at this is that every new hire (even the ones I would pass over) is an opportunity to really harness and sculpt that persons character to be something better than they were when they arrived; this is almost impossible if the prevailing culture of an organization is lethargic however as it will require so much more effort and constant maintenance to undo the negative influence of those lethargic types who compete with you for influence over your people. Simply: if no lazy influence is to be found and if the prevailing culture is one of meticulous attention to detail then the new hire will conform to this standard whereas previously they would have conformed to the lazier standard.

“TURN THAT RADIATOR OFF!”

When we consider the office environment in contemporary society as to its culture we must acknowledge that it is a hot-house for the most unhelpful kind of disposition; not only do we find university graduates who are totally unused to any kind of exertion seeking out these “comfortable” positions solely for the sake of the extra pay, but even the heating of the office environment itself is cranked up to the point that the body responds as if it is laying on a beach in Mexico – this, obviously, is because the office environment is sedentary in the first place; people are not active and become cold then complain of the cold and crank up the heating until they feel very warm at which point “meticulous attention to detail” becomes the most physiologically difficult; requiring greater exertion:
search: “high temperature laziness”
Summer weather—especially the muggy kind—may also reduce both our attention and our energy levels. In one study, high humidity lowered concentration and increased sleepiness among participants. The weather also hurt their ability to think critically: the hotter it got, the less likely they were to question what they were told.
The New Yorker, 2013
(I’ll attach this article in the comments, very fun read – especially about the psychological effect of the cheery sunny pictures lowering productivity)
In my own experience is that the people who complain about the cold are the types who are generally observed to be doing very little work as they wait to collect their pay, whereas the better workers are more likely to complain about the excessive heat because they’re doing more active things and the blood is circulating in their systems providing them internal warmth.
e.g. on a sales floor with ten or twenty sales people “doing all the work” they are using their minds all the time, talking with hundreds of people in a day at a fast pace; noting down this and looking up that, whereas across the room from them are the administration and finance people writing up often a very simple thing at a very slow pace and complaining bitterly about the cold; only satisfied when they enter lizard mode in extreme warmth which then throws off the sales team who begin to sweat.
The question is, if we must have these two groups with radically different physiological modes occupying the same space, “whose comfort is more valuable?” as there can be no happy medium; cold is cold and hot is hot, productively of the latter will fall as the heat increases and one lot will complain relentlessly if the heat does not increase.
Really there are thousands of reports, comments, articles, etc., detailing these same things – but this one seems to encapsulate the matter, read this – it’s hilarious:
“I keep the thermostat set at 74 degrees (24c) during the scorching summer months. The side of the office with all staff offices has reasonable ventilation, but the vents on the other side where the conference rooms are do not work as well, so that side gets warmer. I feel that the setting of 74 degrees is the best setting that makes the whole office comfortable at the same time, even though the conference rooms in the afternoon can get too warm. Some days 74 (24c would be considered an unbearably hot day in my country) feels chilly to me at my desk, so I bring a cardigan or blazer to keep warm on those days. Another staff member gets hot flashes and keeps a fan on at her desk while wearing a sleeveless dress. However, the third employee freezes to death and keeps her space heater on all the time during the summer.
I am happy with everyone doing what they need to stay comfortable. However, the employee with the heater creates a warmer environment throughout the office, not just her space. I have explained to her that it is uncomfortably hot and she needs to close the doors to her space so we aren’t all getting warmer. Sometimes she does this and sometimes she doesn’t (because as anybody knows hot air in a closed space produces an unpleasant acrid feeling). I have also asked why she hasn’t brought a sweater or something to keep her warm, which she replied she is trying to look cute. She wears sleeveless dresses, which is appropriate summer attire, but all the while she is freezing and uncomfortable in a 74-degree office.”
askamanager .org, 2023
“to which she replied, she is trying to look cute,” in a closed room. Remember, this employee whose paramount concern is to “look cute” occupies a position within an organization which justifies her own private office – we ae not talking about one bimbo at the front desk spending her day flirting with the security officer of which such conduct could be expected, likely this is a very important position. In other words, here, we find that excessively high temperature which debilitates a working environment; making everybody uncomfortable and all tasks much harder to accomplish, is being maintained in order that a girl can wear a “sleeveless dress” to work in, say, London in Autumn, and feel as if she is on a Summer holiday in Corsica.
Physiologically speaking; i.e. examining an environment in terms of climate controls as to its effects, this ought be made clear as to be an extremely important thing in setting the overall ‘tone’ of a workplace, i.e. colder temperature facilitates better and more productive work, hotter temperature facilitates lethargy – meaning that a person comes more naturally to one or the other depending on the temperature.
Now, I do not mean here to brush off the general conclusion that ‘people’ have already made about this issue (which they say only in private); since I fancy that you are not a fucking moron, o’ reader of mine, but I would prefer to make the point that it is not really simply a matter of “Women have lower body heat and thusly demand hot air,” but that overarching this complaint is the matter that those Women in particular are sedentary in the first place – a Women whose work requires more dexterity and activity; be it mental or physical, is not observed to crave hot air in the same manner as a sedentary person and so really the matter is that of those portions of a workplace being sedentary all along.
In the 2023 excerpt the primary concern of the employee to “look cute” is a product of lethargy; a poor disposition, where in the absence of any actual tasks to work toward or even for some sense of fulfilment and accomplishment, the sense of purpose is directed toward the superficial self and the act of working neurotically upon the superficial appearance of the self is a stand-in for that same level of neurosis which we might otherwise consider to be a wonderful quality if it were recast into a situation where “meticulous attention to detail” was required. My point here is that the slow and linear pace of the typical white collar environment lends itself to lethargy in the first place, so that if an employee is actually doing nothing with their time; or rather: is not constantly bombarded with assignments, that they will slip into this lethargy and begin to undertake actions to facilitate that lethargy, i.e. if a person is sitting down and doing nothing they will prefer on an unconscious level to being sitting down and doing nothing in the warm, as like to enjoy their leisure.
The question then becomes, “we can’t possibly ‘bombard them with assignments’, they will complain and quit!” to which I remind that there are people to whom constant work comes without any struggle whatsoever; why do you not employ them and why do you waste your money to employ people instead who cannot handle the requirements of the work?

LETHARGY AND THE LOSS OF CAPACITY

We must talk about the West here in comparison to a far superior workplace culture such as like in China or Hong Kong or Japan or Korea where the workplace is a serious place and the notion of it being a like a poor middle school for 13 yr olds where the primary concern of a higher pay grade being that they “look cute” would be coldly dismissed. Again, it is a matter of a culture. The miserable reality is that the Western workplace, due to the culture of it, is somewhere that serious people do not want to be anywhere near – many of the most skilled friends of mine have long since packed up and migrated to the Yellow Sea region to escape the perpetual infantilism that is on show in the West; meeting with great success, promotion and generally this is because the culture facilities work and rewards the best people for their skill and diligence whilst here, in the West, the culture is heavily stacked against that.
To consider the main problem with ‘bad hiring’ practices, i.e. with filling your organization with idle persons, is to take into account the real problem of lethargy in management; if a business or organization really has nothing to do and its activities consist of slow-typing in a sedentary environment then the management which arises from that situation will be a product of it. In the above excerpt we must consider the people who have created that environment as to how they would respond if suddenly they were dropped into South Korea and expected all of a sudden to work, not merely one day – to be graciously cuddled for completing a single task – but to work thanklessly for the rest of their time in the company; simply then it boils down to disposition; the disposition of one would be utterly unsuited to that whereas the disposition of another would be completely at home in such an environment.
There are good reasons, I think, beyond tariffs and taxes why many companies prefer to base their vital operations in the Yellow Sea region; so as to benefit from a labour pool which is not polluted by these particular aspects of the lethargic workplace culture of the West.
In short: a bad manager will not hire someone who is better than them, it would be quickly discovered what was going wrong in an organization if a capable team were suddenly dropped into the workplace and came to realize that a company was under-performing in its potential capacity by vast amounts; i.e. all the things I have described, and implemented remedies to those things so as to put the capacity up where it ought be.
Anecdotally: I took a business-to-business lead generation contract many many years ago in a Western office environment and quickly began securing hundreds of new clients for my employer, at success rate of about one in four, measured against the previous ‘expected’ success rate of ten in three hundred which had been the norm for the previous occupants of that position. My point here is that what comes naturally to one would be considered statistically impossible for another, whilst in the interview process there was nothing particularly special that gave any impression they were selecting for those qualities which enabled me to accomplish that. That company was trailing by as a facilitator for other peoples business, managing a trifling number of connections and relying perhaps on fifty clients to see them through a year; I have no notion to how many millions of pounds I earned that company in the space of a few days, but my point is that if ‘that’ simple intervention boosted their revenues by hundreds of percent and if they sought to capitalize on that and ride on that client list for a few years (as I suspect they did), then the question which ‘you’ ought be considering, o’ reader of mine, is rather than the paltry profit of a few million from lethargic low-bar practices that instead: how many hundreds of millions of pounds that same company would have made if they had begun to work on the basis of securing one in four instead of just ten in three hundred? My arithmetic is not the best but I think the answer is somewhere in the region of a 750% rise in existing revenue simply if ‘good people’ have been hired, vs. a loss of that same vastly increased rate of capacity which has been demonstrated (in this instance) to have been perfectly possible to have been achieving since day one of the companies founding.
To return to ‘bad hiring’ it again comes down to lethargy; even if we entertain the notion that petty vanity of “not wanting to hire your replacement” factors into these decisions, that fact of the matter is that a person in charge of hiring and training has it within their means – almost singularly – to bring to their organization those vastly improved rates of success; and God help us if money alone must be the motivation then it goes without saying that vastly improved rates of success means vast quantities of money. That is to say that whilst their position has it within its means, that the occupant ‘of’ that position seldom has it within their ‘disposition’ to even attempt to reach out and take it.
We see, of course, what a loss of capacity translates to: a manager operating at that loss is no longer managing a highly productive business bringing in hundreds of millions of pounds with the time and focus of their team on the facilitation and accomplishment of a highly effective working environment and so instead they are all preoccupied with maintaining the oppositional sedentary environment; as they are working at a very low capacity they are all cold, as they are all cold they demand the heating goes up, as the heating goes up they make it unbearable for the few amongst them doing any work, and around and around it goes.
We might consider that this is simply because (circa NAFTA) production power of the West barely exists and so very few jobs really have anything ‘real’ to be doing with their time which requires ‘real’ people to be there – i.e. which would see that ‘better people’ fill the offices rather than these drones; but I make this argument elsewhere (calling them all Bourgeois) and will not iterate that here (even if the archaism amuses the reader as it does me), however I do not think this is strictly true in this particular aspect, or: if it is then we must really take seriously the reality of the drain on resources in the West (consider even the massive cost of fuel and electricity) that comes from the unjustifiable employment of vast quantities of people; with no desire in mind to change the environment so as to make them ‘not’ useless then if that metric is true then we are looking really at the total collapse of one organization after the next being propped up and kept in its dysfunctional ways (i.e. ways all stemming from the problem of non-production - in that argument) for the sole reason of not wanting to add thirty or forty million to the unemployment rolls. But as I say I do not think this that ‘non-production’ is strictly the cause here so much as the general disposition, that is: the culture, in the first place. I mean that you could drag such idle Bourgeois out of their warm baths and put them in charge of, say, a mining operation and they would fuck it up in the same way they fucked up their paperclip job because they are fundamentally stupid people who are not interested in the very first place of ‘doing any work’, that is: they would hire people just like them to surround themselves with and they begin to abuse the labour force as they attempt to derive an impression of higher profits whilst being fundamentally unwilling and altogether incapable of putting in the mental and physical exertion necessary to actually attain those higher profits in a way which does not come from, say, robbing the pension fund or unpaying the vital labour or not paying it all – child labour, slave labour and so on, were all born of this same lethargy. At the same time, one might fight tooth and nail against trying to implement any kind of changes along the lines laid out in this text amongst a staff already accustomed to or locked into the dysfunctional modes, but as I said you might accomplish it working with the tools at your disposal; as like the sail is moved by the breeze, by chiefly taking advantage of the high turnover rates to step in with the next round of hiring and ensuring that the next lot of staff have a more meticulous disposition. Where do you find such people? Hells bells, reader, reread this text: a new employee will conform to ‘your’ standard and the very best kind of employee; i.e. the most valuable kind of person, will welcome a superior standard.
Truth is that people who enjoy their work need less management anyway as they can be relied upon to possess autonomy and the proper disposition suited for the job, whereas to force those not inclined to such work to work is a constant uphill struggle – which is I think totally pointless; as to force a Tiger to perform and dress up like a Sheep and to force a Sheep to perform and dress up like Tiger; as I think Wen Hou Yi* once attempted to say, as: neither can excel in the others vocation and it simply easier to select them both to do the work that they are the most naturally suited for.
Anyway, speaking of warm baths**, I bid you vale my legionaris proconsularis.

NON, VIII. I, ID. MAIORES***. MAR INVIC.

\**we are now calling May, “Maiores”.*
\*Filling with frantic crowds of thinking fools* Those reverend bedlams, colleges and schools; Borne on whose wings, each heavy sot can pierce The limits of the boundless universe; So charming ointments make an old witch fly And bear a crippled carcass through the sky. ’Tis this exalted power, whose business lies In nonsense and impossibilities, This made a whimsical philosopher Before the spacious world, his tub prefer, And we have modern cloistered coxcombs who Retire to think ’cause they have nought to do.
\since apparently I am the only person in the English speaking world to possess an English translation of Wu Zhi Ji Zong, why not quote you some more of it? The style and format of Old Chinese is quite refreshing.*
From:

TU GAO (CHAPTER ONE)

(a conversation between Wen Hou Yi and Wu Qi Ru)

“…The fine cushioned carriage is set up by carters; still eager to take you from here to there, and skilled workers maintain and keep the wheels in good working order, but the view from the passengers seat is not beautiful: the land is not beautiful, it needs the King.

If you want to escape from it; to use the government to try and improve things, you'll find you're not able to improve anything; you will be swearing at the chickens! Whilst the tigers are condemned guilty of simply being tigers; if you have a fight; some scuffle in the streets where you're forced to defend yourself, you will die for it - under the laws of today. And yet we all know that Xiude outlawed the Martial Arts precisely to weaken and destroy his own country; why then do we not understand that we have adopted these laws in error?

At least the common people are still brave enough to mourn their social shackles. And the ancient dynasty soldiers, the most sacred of sacred; sacredest of the sacredest of the sacredest! - they themselves practice the martial arts, are they forbidden too? Obviously not.

Well, we must be righteous: unmoving as we mourn; just carry on with our duty, that's the only way we can avoid being arrested in 'this' city."

Wen Hou Yi was a religious man, and obviously his wife was holding his shackles! Whereas Wu Qi Ru had himself started in the temple (along with Wen Hou Yi) but in time he became a great general; fighting alongside Princes and Kings, accumulating to his name a total count of sixty-four battlefield victories.

One of these men had solutions; the other had only complaints!

We drill into the earth from every angle available to us, and thereby we expand upon the resources of the land for thousands of miles around us. Others do not, but even so all sides have their merits.

Selling Usher ticket on FB. Scam?
Hi! My boyfriend and I bought two tickets to see Usher on tour in October. However my bf lost his job two weeks ago and we really need money. We are going to resell the tickets for the total we paid for them . *No we are not selling for a profit we just want to make back what we paid bc we need extra money at the moment. * (it was only like $450 total with taxes and I have never resold anything before).
Anyway, I need advice. I listed them for resell on stubhub which is where I purchased them. I haven't had any luck yet and I am down bad and a bit desperate to sale them. I joined a bunch of Usher ticket buy/sell fb groups to see if anyone was interested there. However, l'm a bit skeptical of an interaction I am having and I'm worried I'm going to get scammed. I had a man interested and when we were discussing details he said he wanted the fb group admin to be a middleman for safety. He told me the specific admins name and told me to message her about wanting to use her as a middleman. Shortly after I messaged her she created a group chat with the buyer and I. I am attaching a screenshot of what she said. I’m concerned about her saying she needs my ticket master info.
Is this a normal practice for selling tickets on FB? Does this seem legit?
More context: I looked at the man’s FB page and his first post is about getting a new car from doing trading with CashApp bitcoin which obviously feels like a huge red flag.
Def feels to good to be true. Please help a down bad 23 year old girl not get scammed thank yall in advance!!!
