So I picked this up from an auction because I love everything nautical and think it’s a work of art in itself. I’m working on a base to stand it up straight in the garden by the pool. I’d love to know if anyone has some insight on how/when/why it was constructed. I mean this is a substantial piece of metal. Probably at least four feet plus. Also the anchor has an odd shape on the “T” part. Kinda traditional anchor shape if you asked someone to draw an anchor, but in my limited knowledge- anchors aren’t shaped like this anymore. If you look close, it’s that traditional shape - the two spade looking parts are added with welding and not part of the main part. There’s no indication that this is an afterthought - I just assume it’s easier this way in construction. Also why’s the “T” bent on one side. It goes through the anchor and has a pin to not allow it to slide one way but I can’t figure that out either. It’s not like it would be attached to the boat that way. In theory it could slide toward the straight part. Pretty rusty so it doesn’t really. I’d appreciate any insight. Either way it will be displayed at my house because it’s so cool. But, knowing a little about it would make it all the much better. I can say this from my knowledge- no vessel I’ve ever captain needs an anchor this size haha

For context, my wife and I never wanted to get married. Both of us came from abusive homes. The abuse was mostly because our parents hated eachother, but didn't want to get divorced and took their anger out on us. We both felt like marriage could trap us to someone after they became abusive and it scared us.
We started dating in highschool. After we graduated I worked dead end jobs trying to save up money for a few years to be able to move out, but never could.I joined the military to finally get away from my parents. My then girlfriend (now wife) and i had a long distance relationship for a few years with me coming down to visit around once a month on 4-day weekends while she went to college. I was lucky enough to get stationed within the millage radius.
She was living in a college dorm for the first few years and was close to graduating, but suddenly had to move out since her father decided not to cosign for her and made her move back in. The abuse got really bad. He had tracking on her car and would remotely make it honk when she went somewhere he didn't like. He wouldn't let her go anywhere besides work, school, or home. Her life was very bad. I told her that if we got married we could get a house on base and she could go to college here (the army would increase my pay to accommodatethis). At first she said no since she didn't want to be locked in with someone, but one day when I got home from a week in the field I turned on my phone and was greated by hundreds of texts and missed calls. She had packed a suit case with a few cloths, her birth certificate, and her SS card, and was living at my mom's house. (My parents divorced soon after i left and could only take their anger out on eachother. They became really chill once they were apart and even apologized for everything they put me through. It's not a perfect relationship, but it'sreally not part of this story so I'llskip it)
I came down with a 4-day weekend pass and we got married in the court house. She came up and we lived on post. The abuse was way worse than I originally thought. She refused to live anywhere except on posy because she wanted to be in a super secure area her father and step mother couldn't find her. She had panic attacks whenever she saw cars that looked like theirs. The first 6 months were the worst. She would cry herself to sleep every night. Every morning I would wake up to her quietly sobbing. I would go to work and when I came back she would still be quietly sobbing in the corner I left her in, yet somehow the house was trashed. I would cook food and beg her to eat it and drink water. She would reluctantly. Then she would cry herself to sleep and the process would begin again. I got her into therapy and signed her up for college. That seemed to help some, but she was still a mess.
Fast forward and we've been married for 7 years. She has never held a job sighting her mental health as the issue. It was fine since I was very good with money and could provide for both of us. Her mental heath got a little better, but has never been good. At one point she gained 80 pounds ordering Uber Eats and Insta Cart. Apparently she didn't want to go outside so she needed food delivered. She wanted to self harm, but couldn't do it in normal ways since I would see and make her talk to her therapist about it. Instead she had incredibly greasey unhealthy food delivered to our house and would eat it to give herself a stomach ache. She spent over $10,000 over the course of a year doing this. I didn't notice because she said she wanted to feel like she contributed to the house by taking care of the finances. I trusted her to do that and never questioned her about it. (My fault, I know) She was also slightly underweight by about 5-10 pounds when we first got married and my mom was overweight and constantly told me to never question a woman gaining weight so I waited too long to start asking questions about that too.
Recently I was chaptered from the military. A very long story short, she started constantly attempting suicide and because I was busy taking care of her so much I was non-deployable for too long. They had to let me go. I lined up a job as a cop for when I got out, but ended up tearing my ACL in a motorcycle accident. That meant I needed to get it repaired and go through physical therapy before I could start the job. In the mean time I had to move back in with my mom and my wife had to move back in with her mom. (Niether house was large enough for both of us to live)
When it happened my wife was very upset, but didn't seem to give me much sympathy. More anger than anything. She started to act better when I called her on it though. Later she told me she didn't want to have sex since i had gained weigbt since the accident. Not being able to walk/ exercise and stress eating from all your plans on how to survive crumbling will do that to you. I've gained about 20 pounds in the last 2 months. Side note, she has never lost the weight and has even put more on. She is currently 50 pounds over the highest weight she should be for her height and age. I do have a belly, but I can still benchpress over 300 pounds and you can still see most of my muscles.
Today I got a letter from the VA saying that I would only be given 15 physical therapy appointments. The physical therapist had told me earlier that I would probably need at least 40. I went to the physical therapist to come up with a new plan since obviously the old one needed to change. When I talked to my wife about it, before I could even finish talking she got angry and said we couldn't afford it. She then said that I would need to do more Uber because her part time job couldn't cover it. I got angry that it seemed she only cared about how my issues affected her. After about a half hour fight she apologized and said that her mom is still abusive and that she is jealous that I get to live with a mom who isn't. (Her mom yells at her sometimes, but it's nothing compared to what her dad and step mother did though. Not saying it's good, but there's really nothing I can do right now. We started dating in highschool. After we graduated I worked dead end jobs trying to save up money for a few years to be able to move out, but never could.I joined the military to finally get away from my parents. My then girlfriend (now wife) and i had a long distance relationship for a few years with me coming down to visit around once a month on 4-day weekends while she went to college. I was lucky enough to get stationed within the millage radius.
She was living in a college dorm for the first few years and was close to graduating, but suddenly had to move out since her father decided not to cosign for her and made her move back in. The abuse got really bad. He had tracking on her car and would remotely make it honk when she went somewhere he didn't like. He wouldn't let her go anywhere besides work, school, or home. Her life was very bad. I told her that if we got married we could get a house on base and she could go to college here (the army would increase my pay to accommodatethis). At first she said no since she didn't want to be locked in with someone, but one day when I got home from a week in the field I turned on my phone and was greated by hundreds of texts and missed calls. She had packed a suit case with a few cloths, her birth certificate, and her SS card, and was living at my mom's house. (My parents divorced soon after i left and could only take their anger out on eachother. They became really chill once they were apart and even apologized for everything they put me through. It's not a perfect relationship, but it'sreally not part of this story so I'llskip it)
I came down with a 4-day weekend pass and we got married in the court house. She came up and we lived on post. The abuse was way worse than I originally thought. She refused to live anywhere except on posy because she wanted to be in a super secure area her father and step mother couldn't find her. She had panic attacks whenever she saw cars that looked like theirs. The first 6 months were the worst. She would cry herself to sleep every night. Every morning I would wake up to her quietly sobbing. I would go to work and when I came back she would still be quietly sobbing in the corner I left her in, yet somehow the house was trashed. I would cook food and beg her to eat it and drink water. She would reluctantly. Then she would cry herself to sleep and the process would begin again. I got her into therapy and signed her up for college. That seemed to help some, but she was still a mess.
Fast forward and we've been married for 7 years. She has never held a job sighting her mental health as the issue. It was fine since I was very good with money and could provide for both of us. Her mental heath got a little better, but has never been good. At one point she gained 80 pounds ordering Uber Eats and Insta Cart. Apparently she didn't want to go outside so she needed food delivered. She wanted to self harm, but couldn't do it in normal ways since I would see and make her talk to her therapist about it. Instead she had incredibly greasey unhealthy food delivered to our house and would eat it to give herself a stomach ache. She spent over $10,000 over the course of a year doing this. I didn't notice because she said she wanted to feel like she contributed to the house by taking care of the finances. I trusted her to do that and never questioned her about it. (My fault, I know) She was also slightly underweight by about 5-10 pounds when we first got married and my mom was overweight and constantly told me to never question a woman gaining weight so I waited too long to start asking questions about that too.
Recently I was chaptered from the military. A very long story short, she started constantly attempting suicide and because I was busy taking care of her so much I was non-deployable for too long. They had to let me go. I lined up a job as a cop for when I got out, but ended up tearing my ACL in a motorcycle accident. That meant I needed to get it repaired and go through physical therapy before I could start the job. In the mean time I had to move back in with my mom and my wife had to move back in with her mom. (Niether house was large enough for both of us to live)
When it happened my wife was very upset, but didn't seem to give me much sympathy. More anger than anything. She started to act better when I called her on it though. Later she told me she didn't want to have sex since i had gained weigbt since the accident. Not being able to walk/ exercise and stress eating from all your plans on how to survive crumbling will do that to you. I've gained about 20 pounds in the last 2 months. Side note, she has never lost the weight and has even put more on. She is currently 50 pounds over the highest weight she should be for her height and age. I do have a belly, but I can still benchpress over 300 pounds and you can still see most of my muscles.
Today I got a letter from the VA saying that I would only be given 15 physical therapy appointments. The physical therapist had told me earlier that I would probably need at least 40. I went to the physical therapist to come up with a new plan since obviously the old one needed to change. When I talked to my wife about it, before I could even finish talking she got angry and said we couldn't afford it. She then said that I would need to do more Uber because her part time job couldn't cover it. I got angry that it seemed she only cared about how my issues affected her. After about a half hour fight she apologized and said that her mom is still abusive and that she is jealous that I get to live with a mom who isn't. (Her mom yells at her sometimes, but it's nothing compared to what her dad and step mother did though. Not saying it's good, but there's really nothing I can do right now.  | So I picked this up from an auction because I love everything nautical and think it’s a work of art in itself. I’m working on a base to stand it up straight in the garden by the pool. I’d love to know if anyone has some insight on how/when/why it was constructed. I mean this is a substantial piece of metal. Probably at least four feet plus. Also the anchor has an odd shape on the “T” part. Kinda traditional anchor shape if you asked someone to draw an anchor, but in my limited knowledge- anchors aren’t shaped like this anymore. If you look close, it’s that traditional shape - the two spade looking parts are added with welding and not part of the main part. There’s no indication that this is an afterthought - I just assume it’s easier this way in construction. Also why’s the “T” bent on one side. It goes through the anchor and has a pin to not allow it to slide one way but I can’t figure that out either. It’s not like it would be attached to the boat that way. In theory it could slide toward the straight part. Pretty rusty so it doesn’t really. I’d appreciate any insight. Either way it will be displayed at my house because it’s so cool. But, knowing a little about it would make it all the much better. I am very attracted to androgynous people. I’ve always found Frank N Furter to be WAY more attractive than say Ryan Gosling lol. A lot of the men I’ve dated have been super androgynous. And also, if I’m watching a movie or so, I focus on the female. I find it very difficult to not focus on the female. But I also focus on the man. But I am very attracted to androgynous people.
I don’t actually care about their gender or sexuality or anything, it’s really more about how we vibe for me. But I love me a man that looks like a woman lol. And just women. And just men. And just anyone, idk.
I feel like I’m comfortable presenting as a female (my biological sex) but somedays I kind of want to come off masculine? Like I want to be called she/her even though I feel like a he/him somedays.
All this is to say, I don’t know what’s going on and I have no one to talk to about this lol. My sexual orientation, and my gender I guess. I want to be called a female. Anyway they come from a few things but the one I'm trying to eliminate most is plastic based clothing
The most obvious one:
Polyester.
Which is effing everywhere in the clothing world.
So I've been trying to replace my wardrobe with 100% natural fibre clothing
Cotton, hemp, silk, linen, etc
Especially when it comes to activewear because this is where I believe its most important (heat, sweat and all)
But its damn hard to find decent brands for MEN.
Non toxic active wear brands for women? no problem
But I'm having a hard time finding stuff for men that don't make you look like a screaming shaman
So... got any recommendations?

I'm about to buy my daily driver (and only car) and going to be living in South Carolina. My commute will be about 15 miles but will be using it for "spirited" driving on the weekends.
I found a 2017 GTI sport with 47k miles on it and a 2021 GTI S with 40k miles on it.
The 2021 still has some warranty left on it.
I'm torn between the two, the prices seem to be the same.
I understand the sport comes with some better headlights and a push button start, while the 2021 S doesn't have those two.
Any idea if this 2021 MY mk7.5 comes with a dq250 or dq381?
Should I skip the dsg for a manual? Will the dsg in the 2021 MY hold power if tuned?
Are there any companies making a start/stop button for the 2021 gti s and are the aftermarket led headlights as good as the OEM ones on the autobahn trim?
Would love some advice and additional food for thought.

So, I finished KEY - I played it twice to get all of the achievements. It was alright, it wasn't bad. I've accepted that ND games will never be the same after SEA.
My main issues were that everything was just flat. I remember how beautiful and intricate the graphics used to be in older games (even in the classic ones) and this one felt so - meh.
There were rooms and rooms where you couldn't click on ANYTHING to explore. Characters were really disinteresting. Even the cute callbacks felt like they were just Nancy Drew easter eggs in a completely different game that isn't Nancy Drew anymore.
Some of the puzzles were good - but some, I had NO IDEA where to start, with no verbal cues, and had to rely on the hints way too much.
The new VO actress is fine in tone and warmth, but I've done VO before, and I really think that the issue with her VO is that she says all of her words painstakingly too slow. It doesn't sound natural, because a real person doesn't speak like that. Natural speech speeds things up at times, and has varying inflections and pauses, run-ons. She says every. single. word. at. exactly. the. same. speed. I listened to every delivery after I realized that's what makes her sound so robotic, and except for maybe a handful of takes she did where she sped up her delivery for a short line, she says EVERY line with almost a pause between each word. It was excruciating and really a shame, because she has a nice voice.
Anyway, I miss Lani and think I will go back to playing the old games. I don't care if she "sounds old". She IS Nancy Drew. I've played every game multiple times - some of them, too many times to count. I think after trying this last one out for curiosity's sake after the one that shall not be named (I honestly blacked that one out) I will be spending my money elsewhere.
Rant over, my question is - does anyone have any great game recommendations along the lines of the games pre-Unity takeover?
I've played This Bed We Made (loved it) and went through the Life is Strange Series (also loved it).
Does anyone have suggestions on some great mystery/point and click/supernatural/adventure/explore games?

i know the title sounds really dumb but i'm just convinced im stuck in a bad split off and on for the last few months and need advice. me and my boyfriend have been dating for nearly a year and broke up two months ago (i did not initiate it), he proceeded to ask me back out the day after and i finally gave in a week later. i was so scared stuff would never be the same between us, and i was right but not in the way i imagined. i started to become extremely vindictive, annoyed and upset with his presence in general but would feel awful because i really didn't think i felt that way deep down.
he's so kind to me still, loving and sweet to me. i wanna love him again, i don't want these feelings. i remember the way i felt about him pre breakup and im so nostalgic for it, the way he'd make me blush, holding hands, the way my heart would beat like i was about to go into cardiac arrest lmao, i didn't see a single thing wrong with him and thought we would get married. and no i don't hate him or anything cartoonishly evil and wanna punish him because i do feel like that way sometimes still towards him, i just want it back. im not in therapy and won't go back due to past experiences, i just wanna help myself but i don't know where to start

2024.05.23 08:26 Senior-Soup2021 Defy additional animations
I just received my Defy today and I’m loving it. Typing experience feels so natural. The UI is to customize it is much nicer than my other keyboard. The one thing I’ll probably miss is the variety of animations the my other split keyboard has. I was wondering if there any plans to add more animations to the Defy or to have the same as the Raise which I think has a couple more( I could be wrong).
